Seeing as I can't get to the studio at the moment I thought I'd let the Old Masters do the painting for me 😋 This new digital collage series is called 'Prima Materia'. It uses figurative elements taken from pre-20th century paintings.

I'm a big fan of contemporary art but I'd still take the work of artists like Da Vinci, Titian, Bernini, El Greco, Velázquez, Caravaggio, Blake etc.etc. over modern art any day of the week. Their work is endlessly fascinating in composition and narrative depth, off the chart in skill levels, ambition and experimental nuance.
