Okay, but like...what if in "Queen of Hearts," Arthur followed through on his threat before Morgana did her sorcery frame-up, and he and Gwen just dipped (with Merlin, obviously)? Like, he leaves an Official Statement of Resignation on his desk with his signet ring, renouncing his claim to the throne and all that? The three of them are halfway to Essetir before anyone notices they're gone.

And on the way, they just happen to chance across some smugglers? Logic dictates that Tristan and Isolde started their hustle during Uther's reign for them to be as good as they are in S4 when Arthur had only been king a few months tops. They're still initially suspicious, ofc, but they warm up a lot faster considering the situation, and they're always down with someone who says "fuck the king" with their whole chest. The trio takes up with them bc they're always on the move and make a living on not being found, which is exactly what they need rn because Uther will be looking for them.

But if they want to stay, they gotta contribute. House rules.

Now, insofar, Tristan and Isolde are strictly transport. They're more or less fences. They don't do the actual theft part. But the trio can. Arthur can blend right in with the rich people they rip off, and he's bougie enough to pick out the Good Shit and pass on the knockoffs. Merlin and Gwen can blend right in with the servants to case the joint and swipe the goods, not to mention Gwen's knowledge of metalworking means being able to dismantle jewelry pieces without damaging them and making them untraceable, and Merlin can cover their tracks with magic (he'd have told them after they left) and create distractions as needed.

Arthur does have a small crisis when he realises he makes a better grifter than a prince, but then it's just really funny. He is now the Once and Future King of Thieves. Tristan and Isolde are the envy of the black market scene bc of their "secret weapons."

Bonus points if this is how they meet the rest of the squad bc legit the only knight that isn't a confirmed criminal is Percival, but he's also besties with Lancelot, so it's implied he might be.

this made me so happy to receive. i'm sooooo glad people like it!! I've been reading the tags and nodding thoughtfully. there's a great little community of Kabru philosophers on tumblr, I'm noticing. he's the people's princess. as he deserves.

he's just so crunchy to me. his motives are well realised and complex, and he's both deeply moral and altruistic, insincere and an incredibly skilled manipulator, saviour complex, othered since childhood, genuine love for mankind and kindness even when it doesn't serve him .... pragmatic to the point of totally sublimating his own desires, but still cares for others.... a ruthless killer........ ohhh it's like he was made in a lab for me actually i'm realising as i'm typing this out. like he fits the mold. allen walker from d.gray-man is the same type and he also made me ill back in the day. still does tbh. i just didn't realise because they're usually white haired anime boys - and he is so much better because he isn't one!!!

dungeon meshi as a whole, particularly the characters, definitely kabru, have got a hold on me such that i'm actually writing my thoughts up and sharing rather than .. or more accurately, as well as .. endlessly ranting at my friends and family about them. There's just so many intricate parts and it fits together so well! such a beautifully constructed manga.... I haven't had this much fun since I was writing my dissertation for my masters. well actually idk if i would call that fun lmao. this is definitely fun!! There Will Be More. you can count on it. and more art too.

me last week: decides to download "Epic Fantasy" and Dislyte to pass time when waiting for AP to refill and/or main quests for Swordbeauties to unlock so I don't use up all my Golden Fruits

me now: getting too invested in figuring out the lore for the most basic idle hero collector rpg ever looking like the confused math woman

Laios talking to Falin and Marcille about how Yaad keep pressuring him to find a queen for the kingdom. They start making suggestions of other Kingdoms he could connect with or the orc girl (can’t remember her name) but Laios just shuts them down. Then Falin asks “what about (Y/N)? You told me you thought they were really pretty when you asked them to join the party.” And Marcille is like “[gasp] Yes!! And he always wanted to sit next to them during meals!!” So Marcille and Falin just start recounting all these romantic moments that happened between Laios and reader (like Falin’s are all pre-Marcille joining the party and Marcille’s are all post-Falin being eaten) meanwhile Laios is just sitting there with his big red face embarrassed like “I-I wasn’t that obvious, was I?”

I don’t know if it should conclude there, but like maybe Falin and Marcille try to convince him to ask reader but he’s a little hesitant to potentially ruin their friendship or maybe reader shows up and they tell him to go for it? Whatever you think is best :3 I love the idea of Falin teasing (playfully) Laios for his feelings and Marcille being obsessed with his love life (romance books go brrrr). I really like your writing and I can’t wait to read what you have coming soon 💕💕💕 but take your time and don’t over work yourself!!!

“You must put some thought behind this, Laios.” Yaad sighed, “For the kingdom, please.” And with that, Laios was left by himself, as Yaad took his leave. This was the third meeting this week to talk of potential suitors, and all of them were rejected for one reason or another. Slumping in his chair, Laios lets his gaze fall outside the window to see you in the palace gardens. He lets his gaze linger on you, a small smile finally forming.

“Laios?” Falin peeked her head in, pulling his attention away from you towards her. He straightened up, clearing his throat.

“Come on in,” Falin enters, Marcille following behind her. “How can I help?” Falin falters, sharing a glance with Marcille and he instantly knew where this was going. He lets out a sigh, “Did Yaad send you?”

“He thought we could offer some better insight to your potential suitors.” Marcille clarifies. Laios nods, offering them both a seat- which they both take.

“I don’t see the need for a queen,” Laios mumbles, sparing a glance back outside only to see you’re gone. He frowns, looking back towards Falin and Marcille. “The kingdom is doing fine without one, right? Yaad is overreacting.”

“Well, a queen would help solidify your position, and she could help stabilize the kingdom.” Marcille says, “I’m sure Yaad just wants what is best for you and the kingdom.” Laios knows that, but it doesn’t make this matchmaking any less annoying. Running a hand through his hair, leans against the table and gives them a sheepish look.

“Well, do you have any suggestions?”

With that, Falin and Marcille begin to exchange potential suitors. All nobility from surrounding kingdoms. They offer up descriptions of how they look and what their personalities are like (much more than what Yaad was giving him). Marcille gives powerful options, whilst Falin gives eccentric ones.

“No, not that one… Nah… I dunno…” Laios is beginning to grow bored, and it’s obvious by his general lack of listening. “Mm, maybe? No. No, not them either…” Laios’ head hits the table as he lets out a loud groan. He’s done listening. “Maybe we should just-'' But before he could redirect the conversation, Falin’s demeanor grew mischievous.

“How about (Y/n)?” The way Laios tenses up doesn’t go unnoticed by Falin and Marcille, who exchange a sneaky glance. Laios clears his throat (although choking on his own spit would be more accurate?) and tries to act nonchalant.

“(Y/n)? They’re not nobility though… Are they?”

“No, but it doesn’t have to be someone with political power, it could be anyone.” Marcille says, “In fact, at this point, I’m sure Yaad would accept a monster if you said so-”

“Really?!”

“No- Ugh, Laios, seriously?” Marcille shakes her head, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Obviously (Y/n) would be better than a monster.” Laios nods. That’s probably true.

“Don’t you remember? You said you thought she was pretty, back when you first asked her to join our party.” Laios becomes bashful at that. Of course he remembers when he first met you in that tavern, smiling brightly- it was as if someone stole all the stars and put them in your eyes. He could never forget the way you laughed with your friends, nor the way he approached you so confidently and informed you he was looking for someone like you (very smooth) to join his dungeon party.

Nor did he forget how he embarrassingly pursued you for the next week, saying your skillset (he truly had no idea what skills you had at the time, but surely he needed it on his team) would be perfect for his team. You agreed, although that teasing smile told him you did enjoy the chase. That smile that would be the downfall of him.

Marcille slammed her fist into the palm of her hand, perking up with excitement. “Oh! Well now it makes sense why he was always wanting to be near her!” Marcille says, nodding. “Wow, so you had a crush on her this whole time?” Laios slinked down into his chair, wanting to hide away from the two, hoping his cheeks weren’t as red as they felt.

“Mmhm!” Falin nodded, “Once,” She giggled, “Once Laios worked a whole ton of odd jobs in between dungeon exploration, at a whole bunch of odd hours too- just so he could afford to get her a birthday present!”

Ah, Laios remembered that too. He worked more than he slept that week, just to buy a book you had mentioned wanting. It was completely worth it, he had deemed, when he handed the book over with a boyish smile. Your eyes lit up, and you excitedly thanked him, leaning in to give his cheek a kiss.

Laios smiled at the fond memory, only to grumble in annoyance when Marcille let out a sweet squeal. “Aw! That’s so sweet!” She exclaims, “Oh, but listen to this, Falin!” Marcille says, taking Falin’s hands to grab her attention.

“When we were searching for you, Laios ended up getting pretty sick, and he refused to eat.” She paused for dramatic effect, “Unless it was by (Y/n)~” She sighs dreamily, “She spoon fed him back to health. Isn’t that so cute?”

“Laios has always had a soft spot for her.” Falin nods, “I remember we were facing a pretty big monster at the time, and Laios was all like “Don’t worry, I’ll protect you,”” Falin made her voice deeper to try and mimic her older brother, “And (Y/n) was like “No, protect yourself~”” Falin’s giggles made Laios’ ears ring.

“Was… Was I that obvious?” Laios asks meekly, his whole face as red as a tomato. Marcille and Falin nod, poking some more (harmless) fun at him by continuing to recount many stories in which his affections and adoration were very, very obvious.

It isn’t until Falin is retelling how he nearly beheaded a previous member from trying to impress you with his swordsmanship skills that Marcille remembers what this meeting was originally for.

“A- Anyways! You should totally ask her! She’d make a great queen.” Marcille concludes. Laios snaps from his flustered, standing up abruptly, and with a frown.

“I can’t do that.” Laios said, “I…” He glances off to the side. If he could ask you, he would, but… “We don’t even know how she feels about this, and it could ruin our friendship and many years of trust. I wouldn’t want to jeopardize that.”

It’s in moments like this that Falin and Marcille can see his more king-like side. Falin offers a reassuring smile, taking her brother's hand. “Laios, I think you should go for it.”

Laios was deep in thought, when a knock on the door interrupted him. A head peeked into the room and sure enough, it’s you. It’s you, and Laios’ palms begin to grow sweaty.

“Sorry, am I interrupting? I can come back-”

“No! I mean, no, no you’re fine. Please, come in.” Laios tries to relax, but he’s tense after having been told how obvious he was. Did you know? And if you did, how did you feel about it?

“We were just leaving,” Falin says, winking at her brother. Laios goes rigid. Right. This would be the perfect time to confess, should he decide to do it.

“We were? But I wanna watc-” Marcille whines as Falin ushers her out of the room. “But how are we going to know if- wah!” Falin gives you a thumbs up before closing the door. You and Laios listen in horror as both Marcille and Falin press their ears to the door.

“That was… strange.” You comment, wondering what was going on with those two. Laios gives a very forced laugh, which causes your concern to skyrocket. “Is everything okay?” You ask, reaching over and placing a hand on his. Laios looks down at your hand, his breath caught in his throat. Damn it, he was hopeless. It was either you, or a lifetime of solitude, and for the sake of his other dear ones, he should at least give it a shot.

“Actually… we have a lot to talk about.” He says, hesitantly interlocking your fingers with his. He enjoys seeing your shocked expression that melts into something more shy. “And I mean a lot.”

I haven’t done a request in so long- but I’m on my period rn and felt inspired to write this! Enjoy to anyone who still follows me after my many disappearances.

S/O getting their period

Michael

Michael notices everything. And I mean everything. You’ve been more irritable lately but he hasn’t been able to deduce why… He enters the bathroom to use it when he sees strange wrappers in the trash. His first thought is that you’ve been hiding candy from him and he’s pissed. But when he unwraps it he sees a bloody pad/tampon. He stares through the item for a moment, trying to process what the hell is happening. He then throws it on the ground and stomps down stairs. You’re sitting on the couch playing the new Zelda Tears of the Kingdom game. He then takes the controller out of your hand and throws it to the side. He lifts up your shit and sifts through your hair for an injury or any blood.

“M-Michael!? What are you doing?” You say with surprise. He then grabs your pants and takes them off, leaving you in your undergarments. He is able to see that you are wearing the same thing he found in the trash. I points and looks concerned

“I-I’m just on my period! I’m fine..” You blush heavily and reassure your boyfriend that you’re not dying.

He doesn’t know what to do. His mom taught him about this stuff when he was a boy, but he only knows the basics. He’ll at first not understand why you’re being so ‘dramatic’ about everything. But when he realizes it really does hurt, he’ll try to help you, in his own little Michael way of course.

Thomas

Thomas wakes up for the day and stretches his arms. He feels something wet in the bed next to him. He lifts his hand and sees blood. He instantly panics and looks down at you. He rips the covers off of you and sees a large red stain underneath you. He shakes you awake.

“Huh- what? Baby, is there something wrong…?” You say half asleep. He points to the stain and your stomach drops.

“Oh god I’m so sorry Thomas! I’ve been trying to use cloth for my period because we don’t have pads/tampons- oh and now I’ve stained your sheets..” You look apologetic and absolutely mortified. But as soon as he hears ‘period’ he relaxes. His mama raised him right, so he doesn’t make you feel bad about leaking on the bed.

He picks you up and takes you to the bathroom. He runs you a warm bath and puts bubbles in it. He kisses your forehead then walks back into his room. He takes off the sheets and brings them outside to be washed.

Throughout the day he checks on you, often getting yelled at Hoyt for ‘slacking off’. He brings you teas, chocolate, snacks, meals- anything you need. His hands are incredibly warm, so in the night he holds you close to him, putting his hand over your stomach, soothing the cramps.

Yautja

You and your mate were training. You were running obstacle courses, they’re mad for yautja so they’re different. Think ninja warrior stuff. While running and jumping and climbing your pad shifts in your underwear and the flood gates open. You have blood running down your leg, but you’re too focused to notice.. but your mate does. He looks concerned.

“Bleeding. Why?” He uses the least amount of English possible to convey himself.

“Huh?” You stop at one of the platforms and then feel it running down your leg. You look down and feel mortified as your period blood runs down your leg for all to see.

“O-Oh god… sorry about that..” You also notice you’ve gotten blood on the course. You cover your face in embarrassment as your mate walks up to you.

“Are you hurt?” He asks softly, putting his clawed hand on your shoulder.

“I-It’s just my period. It’s similar to the thing that happens to some yautja after the breeding season, if they haven’t gotten pregnant…” You say embarrassedly and a bit shyly.

“Very well.” He seems unphased by it, happy to know you’re not hurt and that it’s just a natural occurrence.

“Why are you hiding from me? Blood does not scare a warrior such as I.” He purrs and runs his finger down your bloody leg. He then brings it up to his mouth and licks it off with his tongue.

You blush and nod, hugging him. He gives you yautja natural remedies for your period. If you have extreme cramps or excessive bleeding he’ll use some medicine or even quick surgery to fix the problem. Don’t worry, yautja pain meds are a lifesaver. You practically feel nothing, just a little sore is all. He will take care of you the best he knows how, and don’t be afraid to give him pointers. He’ll take notes.

You know I think Jamil is one of those characters I can envision as a yandere. If you’ve seen Aladdin, you’d know that once Jafar took over the kingdom, Jasmine became his slave? I like to imagine that overblot Jamil kept MC around instead, dressed them up in that red slave outfit and put shackles on them which sounds really kinky. Jamil would like to keep MC around as a slave but is also like crazy about them even before their overblot because MC was kind to him and didn’t treat him like a servant. Maybe he teases them a little bit to rile them up. Kinda like a glorified pet but also lover at the same time

What got you to start editing out the intros on snapcube 2? I suppose it helps get to the games faster, but as a hardcore Vodhead, I kind of liked those.

I've gone back and forth about keeping pre-streams in the VODs for a couple years now. Whenever I decide to take them out I always have a couple people being like "aw I liked those", but then when I leave them in I can tell the majority of viewers will just skip to gameplay anyway and of course there's the age-old "skip to [timestamp here] for the game" comments. Not that I really mind people having the option per-se, but essentially over the years I've gotten the impression that there's always gonna be someone who feels like the experience of the VODs could be improved by either including them or cutting them and it's just gonna come down to individual preference, so I should go with my gut and how I like to produce things.

SO to actually answer your question as it stands technically, what got me to start removing the opening sections of streams RECENTLY is that I actually just completely upended the way I produce these VODs. I used to have an entire, seamless recording running from the moment I started streaming to the very last second, when I hit my "go live" button the recording would turn on automatically and I never touched it. Then when it came time to post I would put the recording in my editing software, cut out the starting soon screen and all the breaks, and then render and upload manually. At some point during or right before the Tears of the Kingdom series I changed this completely. Having to render out new versions of cut down VODs overnight became way more trouble than it was worth, literally hours of downtime where I couldn't do much on my PC while it was working on exporting them.

So I created a new method that goes something like this:

start the stream, play music

after a few songs, hop on mic and settle in with chat. talk about stuff, chill.

once i am ready to Do The Actual Content, i hit the button to start recording stream locally so the recording only ever begins when i'm ready to go.

i address vodheads and introduce them to the stream separately, then the show starts for real

if there are any stream breaks, i pause the recording as i leave and start it up again once i come back so there is literally nothing i have to edit out of the final recorded file

once the stream is over, take the recording and quickly convert it to mp4 so i can upload it to youtube as-is. every cut is already made, it's in full quality, and i don't have to render it.

now, i totally could just start recording once i hit my "bootup jingle" sound and hop on mic earlier in that process! the practical difference would not be really much to sneeze at on my end. i actually have already done this a couple times! however, what also ended up happening is that the Tears of the Kingdom series like.... REALLLY cut down on how much time i was even spending in the pre-stream to begin with. i was so pumped about that playthrough and i wanted to really maximize my time playing the game while i was live, so often there just really wasn't anything interesting in the pre-stream chat to begin with. this wasn't always the case, but it was reliable enough that i got used to just starting the recording when i started the game. then once i got used to it i kinda started to like it and like how the final VODs turned out when you could just click on it and jump right in, and i've kinda kept up a similar pacing and cadence to my streams post-TOTK.

ultimately, the TL;DR answer is that it's just how i prefer to produce the VODs right now and it makes my workflow a lot easier and makes me feel good about the final product! not saying this will never change, again it's something i go back and forth on. but it's how it is rn!

My Post about Jimmy and Joel!! Finally!

So Jimmy and Joel know each other in their original world, as co-workers, they both work at the same cafe as it's right next to their uni.

They got isekai'd completely randomly, like they just went to sleep woke up the next day and BAMM, Grian standing over them as they're lying on the grass. Grian actually very quickly clocks that they're not from this world after originally thinking oh new race? Then realises, 'ah now watcher shennangins.'

He drags Joel and Jimmy off somewhere to hide and explains the situation to them and they're both sooo confused.

Grian kind of disguises them? He starts by making Jimmy a pair of fake wings, but then the next morning once Jimmy tries to take him off (They stayed over night) They just... don't come off, and then he realises bam he's a canary avian now, and Joel has become a woof elf? Well problem solved about being disguised.

Grian's plans for getting Jimmy and Joel out of here have backtracked a little bit, because now he needs to teach Jimmy how to fly and Joel how to handle his magic. So he calls in Scar who has taught a lot of baby avian's how to fly before, So Grian and Scar work on helping Jimmy with his wings, and then Grian helps him through some of the more complicated wing work.

Scar and Joel both being elves now work on magic together, Joel gets the hang of it really quickly.

And then Grian gets bored and sends them off!! Into the wild, tells them to find someone who might help them, he tells them bout the different realms but not the different worlds.

So Jimmy and Joel head off together.... but when crossing the ice realm they get separated in a snow storm, Jimmy takes shelter in Etho's house on accident. And Joel ends up finding a portal to the fey wilds.

So Jimmy and Etho chat for a bit and Etho points him in the direction of the southern realms after walking him out. Jimmy also walks a bit through the no lands (lands that do not belong to any realm) which is where he runs into Scott tending to his flowers. At this time Scott is not expecting anyone so he's still mostly in his starborn form but quickly switch back to looking like a sea elf when Jimmy arrives. And it's gay, it's really gay, Scott is obviously flirting with Jimmy and Jimmy's like "Wow..... pretty..." and Scott shows him some magic. After hanging out for a while Jimmy tells Scott about his mission to look for 'help' in the southern kingdom but didn't specify why. Scott is suspicious but is more so annoyed that the royal order has been brought up, but like, he's gay and decides, 'no Jimmy is not dealing with the royal order on his own I'm going to help him'

So walking to the kingdom they run into Owen, short chat and then Owen says he'll wait for them outside the city in case something goes wrong, which defo puts Jimmy on edge.

Other things happen Jimmy meets the royal order, and he recognises Martyn, by all means he shouldn't, but he does.

Uhm other things happen too which ends up with Jimmy going with Scott to the sun realms in search of something to save the southern kingdoms. I love flower husbands

All the while Joel is in the feywilds, where he meets Lizzie and is trying to figure out how to leave.

Sorry I'm Jimmy brained I have nothing else for Joel rn

One thing I don't think is mentioned enough is the fact that during the journey, a lot of Celestials took the opportunity to just... outright FUCK around with Wukong. Like, they'd send all sorts of demons their way intentionally just to intervene and say "Oh hey! You found my favorite pet!" Even Guanyin hadn't been innocent of this considering she had this huge fit over her pet goldfish. And if they weren't using their pets they were finding other methods to delay or otherwise force the Pilgrims off the beaten path and into danger out of some sort of test, spite, or pettiness.

Now, think about how in the both JTTW and Slow Boiled au Wukond actually was pregnant or not during the journey, and in Century au, the Heavenly Court BELIEVE he was pregnant. So imagine how those guys feel after they decided to fuck with Wukong put of spite and found out they unknowingly were stressing a pregnant monkey out!?

Yeah! Characters like Gold Star hide their identities to aid the main characters, while some are just... doing it for fun? Are they LARP-ing? And Monkey has Gold-Vision; why does he always not recognise these people even from his Celestial days?

Guanyin set up a whole honey trap knowing that half the squad ain't into it, and dropped the gang on their way home cus they missed 1 story event. The abbey with the Ginseng tree were pretty rude af. The Buddha's own servants tried to fleece the gang of the scriptures. Multiple kingdoms suffered cus King Who-Care shot somebody's bird-cousin, or knocked over a table of offerings. And the 28 Lunar Mansions took almost 13 years to realise that the Wood Wolf was missing.

Lao Tzu's lab assisants literally run off with his stuff and become demon lords for lulz (or they were the assisants that let the Rhino King/Buffalo out and were scared that they'd get in trouble). And lets not forget RHINO KING. Bruh, you somehow lost track of a gotdang celestial Bull-Rhino!?

Guanyin's not immune from this; TWO of her pets became horrific demons (Goldfish and Sai Taisui) and are arguably the most irredeemable of all the villains faced.

Lady Earth Flow/Albino Rat/Bat spirit is even described as Li Jing's adoptive daughter - how the f that happen?? How did he lose track of a whole kid so bad that she became a vampire-esque demon?

Manjusri let their cat (Azure Lion) out TWICE. And they cursed the Wuji kingdom for tossing them in a sewer for preeching.

After a point, I'd imagine Wukong in the stone egg aus would just throw his hands up and start yelling at the gods directly. He's even bolder in the Jttw Stone Egged au given that he has Macaque as back-up.

You know that chapter where Rhino King steals all of the Heavenly Army's powers and weapons, and the immortals are all infighting so hard that Wukong has to be the voice of reason?

Imagine a tiny hormonal monkey just going nuts at these gods. He's screaming in their faces. He's demanding Nezha lift him up so he can look General Li Jing in the eye. He's telling them what good are they as fighters if they only feel safe with their weapons and powers? Wukong has a *damn* good reason he ain't taking on Rhino King in a 1-v-1 rn, whats all these gods excuse?!

The gods are too surprised and intimidated to argue back. And you better believe a certain alchemist is getting a smack for letting a whole animal loose from his lab.
