Different anon. God just boiling down the slugcats to 'animals' angers me in a way I didn't think I could be angry. Yes, they are animals, but by all means they are cognitive and understand complex emotions, communicate with a supposedly complex language, are able to be taught to do things. Why else would the iterators use them as messengers constantly? It's not like they're messenger pigeons where it's just going from point A to point B, they understand exact instructions. If this was just some random animal, making groans and grunts, they wouldn't be able to understand what Five Pebbles even meant when he was explaining how to ascend. Even with the mark, could you imagine if he told a lizard this? Artificer, arguably, is a prime example of this. Just an animal would get over their fallen children, sure they'd grieve but in the end they'd just make more. Arti not only is so enraged by their death, that she is physically incapable of ascension, but also swears vengeance upon a whole other species. This isn't just some animal who lost her children, this is a mother who is enraged at her children's murder. Sure, they aren't on the same level as humans are. Like obviously. But I'd argue it makes sense that a scavenger and a slugcat could fall down the path of enemies to lovers. Especially when you consider the fact that death isn't permanent in Rain World's universe. That would definitely change one's perspective on it. I dunno if I make sense, I'm juggling like three things at once, but I had to say what I needed to say. Wording bad, slugcat smort.

tbh it took me a minute to figure out what this was even referring to, because honestly I don't think that anon meant to use the word 'animal' to dehumanize arti in the first place. it sounded to me like they were just using it as a non-human equivalent for 'person', like "why would anyone fall for a person who committed hate crimes against them?" which is a valid question. it never even occurred to me that they could have meant it in the sense of calling her an inferior creature.

that said... you ARE 100% right and you should say it, lmao.

I very nearly got into this exact argument once, bc i saw some comments from a guy scoffing at the idea of arti showing mercy to baby scavs. because by his logic, 'she is just an animal, so she isn't bound by human morality. in the wild, animals kill any young that don't belong to them without hesitation'. and it just pissed me off so much, because not only was it such an edgy "mercy is for the WEAK!" alpha-male bullshit take, it was also just factually wrong. many animals can and do adopt the young of other animals, even other species, especially when they've just lost their own. and like you said, they can grieve, but then they move on. they keep surviving, and making more babies. they don't dwell on injustice, or let rage consume them to the point that it becomes a hindrance to their own survival. they don't go on single-minded revenge quests. they dont try to justify their own violence by demonizing entire species, and they dont end up plagued by guilt in their sleep. those are very, very human things.

and yeah, i see a lot of people theorize that it's the mark of communication that grants the slugcats higher intelligence, but I don't really buy that either. i think the mark just lets them understand the iterator's language. they must've already had the capacity to understand it, or else it wouldn't work at all. it'd be like trying to install windows on a calculator. also, even without the mark, slugcats are obviously shown to communicate with each other. they have their own culture, they tell stories and make art, and they're apparently able to understand karma and the nature of the cycle at least enough to be able to ascend. so like... any creature thats capable of spiritual enlightenment must at least be sapient, right??

it seems like in the absence of the ancients, both slugcats and scavs are beginning to move in to their niche in the ecosystem

—ㅤjade leech & azul ashengrotto・ a love triangle (not necessarily a triangle but.. two people like you that's for sure.

oh boy. it's absolute chaos wherever these two are arguing, just add the fact that they like the same person and multiply the chaos and tension tenfold. it's like there's animated lightning clashing through their smiling eyes when the topic is all about you.

for some reason jade immensely enjoys rubbing it in azul's face whenever he wasn't informed that you and the eel would be 'hanging' out today, and azul isn't very happy when jade pops up from some random forsaken corner and practically wooshes you away. in that sense he isn't very similar to riddle but his theory is getting tested when he's going red from keeping his smile and not dropping it into a scowl.

they both might not come to the same terms at times but there was a mutual agreement to set aside their 'rivalry' with each other to deal with this little.. scoundrel who has no qualms against stopping himself from bothering you. with azul's wit and jade's concerning experience with dealing with bodies.. let's say that there's a chance everyone won't even notice the person is gone.

it's strange. you don't know this peculiar man at all, not once do you recall any of his presence in your memories so yet why is there an aching nostalgia present on your mind? you're absolutely sure that this guy is a stranger, heck.. you've been trying to skim your memory for god knows how long and it's even starting to hurt.

but your heart yearns, and your teacher had made sure to drill the fact that you should always choose logic over feelings. he looks really familiar. you think, unable to tear your eyes away from his streaks. unique but it feels like you've once seen those cheeky eyes full of underlying fondness. so when he turns to set his eyes on you, you're sure he feels the same when there's a flicker of suprise in them.

competing with a boy who's main motto is bursting into a fiery red was quite annoying. or, perhaps it's irritating because it's the same boy who practically had it out for you the moment he realized that you were a 'threat' to his number one positioning in academics, he hated you for that and you hated him for being like that. so both of you weren't exactly over the moon when the teacher just had to assign you to each other on a research project.

(you're both to lost to stare at each other viciously to hear the rest of the class moaning about how unfair it was to have the smartest students paired in one go)

you realize why riddle was so reluctant and defensive over carrying out the project in his home. alas, your circumstances won't exactly allow anywhere else so he surrenders but not without a nervous, haunted look on his face. his mother terrified you, the moment you set foot on his home her eyes were immediately all over you. judging, scrutinizing, sharp. you can't even force a word out and you weren't even that scared of riddle.

so for once you suck up that grudge and manage to look him in the eye and spare a.. kind look. riddle looks suprised. with the close up without the creases in between his eyebrows and the gritted teeth.. he kind of looks, cute. lost, innocent even. like it's the first time someone spared him that look. (and for once, instead of the passionate anger he bursts into, the red on his face instead resembles a flush as he furiously looks away.)

your past relationship with ace certainly wasn't all rainbows and sparkles. if you were being honest there were times where there was just pure toxicity around you, two people who refuse to look past their wrongs in favors of their 'rights', instead of dropping the relationship you both just clung on frozen love who has no plans to break out of its shell any time soon. you were young, and admittedly dumb teenagers.

at the very least you did break up a few months later. it was surprisingly sentimental, ace himself even shed a few tears as he picked up his pride and apologized for all of the unpleasant times he was the reason of, so in face of his honesty even you can't keep in your tears. you still talked to each other sometimes but there was an obvious barrier none of you dared to cross.

that is until, you meet again years later in a class reunion and the feelings you've long buried—or atleast you thought you buried 6ft under the ground crawls out of its damn grave and practically dragged your asses back to each other with an awkward. "uh.. how you doing?" you both go silent when you realize you spoke it at the same time.

for as long as you remember you've been housed under a home that could be could be gold if it were to be sold, fed by a silver spoon at birth you know how it feels to have everything just at the palm of your hand. just ask your kind parents and they won't have any arguments to whatever you ask, you are their previous little child after all and their love hasn't wavered at all. (or they're just sucking up so you won't have any qualms against taking the throne)

so it was quick for you to see the world through gray and white colors, dull as it should be. one day you just.. lost all interest, there's nothing to do, nothing to want. you're grateful for living such a lax life but sometimes you want to live out one that doesn't require endless pressure. when the topic of marriage appears you can't hold in your displeased look and your parents unfortunately notice. thankfully only sparing you a frown.

you were at the market when it happened. a ring from your mother was stolen right under your nose and you don't know why you started running for the very boy who stole it from you. he was fast, but you were intent on getting the ring back. eventually it was about noon when you stumbled around out of breath—then you see him, holding up the ring to a gather of children. all looking grubby, dirty but they still have smiles on their faces.

you are consumed by guilt when the boy perks up and flashes you a cheeky grin. "looking for this?" he inquires. holding up the ring and twisting it around. you stare at it conflicted, then flicker your gaze to the curious kids. finally you shake your head. "no i.. you can have it.." you trail off. there's probably a mountain of golden rings back at your home anyways.

he looks suprised. you look embarrassed when the children suddenly flock over to you, but for the first time you find yourself staring at a sea of light blue eyes—not gray.

you always see a strange man in the crowd. at first you paid no mind to him, only yet another face for your eyes to flit over and forget but you increasingly remember him once you're granted the ability to look after the audience after each performance. you were never a big star in your plays, so you were used to eyes going to anyone but you. so imagine your suprise and fluster when a blonde man looks ecstatic with you, going as far as to put on a bright grin.

after the third time you spot him in a crowd he flashes you the very same pleased look he fixated you the first time you met and not to be presumptuous of you or anything but you started looking forward to seeing the grin he gives you. it's bizarre for you to think that he's going to every single one of your shoes but.. at the 9th time he's still going strong so you're pretty confident.

as time passes by you've reached the big leagues. no longer was the time where you were that side character who was to die for the main character, this time all eyes are on you. but all you can think of are the green, shining eyes who've watched you along your path to success. so you square your shoulders and confidently introduce yourself to your seeming supporter. a contrast to the old, timid personality you had back then.

inviting the other first years to ramshackle automatically means inviting ace trappola as well.

though he wasn't directly invited by you, he invited himself, as usual.

whenever you held game night with your little friend group it would end with a screaming match between you and ace (and sebek, who simply screams because he can't lower his voice) over one thing or another. you wonder what you will find yourself arguing over tonight.

as the boys trademark pile into the ramshackle lounge, you go to grab the sailor moon special monopoly you (somehow) discovered they sell here. it's a little different from how you remember it in your world, but the fact they even had it in twisted wonderland astonished you.

"[name], do you need any help?"

you turn at the sound of deuce's voice, raising your eyebrow with a questioning hum.

"you've been staring at the box for a while, i was just wondering if something was wrong, or if you needed help with something. jack and sebek took care of the snacks and drinks, by the way."

realization dawns on you, and your eyes snap to the clock on the wall, you really have been standing here for a while. "oh! no, no, i'm okay, thanks deucey~ i was just wondering how the sailor moon edition even exists in twisted wonderland, and i suppose i lost track of time, that's all," you say as you walk towards the tall boy, indicating for him to exit the storage room first. after you turn off the lights and shut the door, you fall into step beside him.

"oh, you had it in your world too?"

you let out a pleased hum, nodding in agreement. deuce has always been quite curious about your world, and you loved sharing little details about it with him. you sometimes sat down and traded information and fun facts the other didn't know, and while jack was one of your favorite conversation partners as he was very attentive and listened to whatever you said, deuce was just a tad closer to first place.

"yeah, we have multiple editions, actually, based on some movies or animes– though i haven't played many of them."

"that sounds pretty fun. i wonder if there's a ramshackle edition of some board game somewhere out there. the currency is tuna and the goal is to catch grim without getting caught by overblotted dorm leaders or ghosts."

"and crowley is the mascot slash narrator of the game! he gives you random side quests and tasks that you can't skip cause you'd lose some tuna!"

you share a giggle just as you make it to the lounge and see the guys just chilling there and waiting for you with everything set up the way it usually would be.

except usually you entering would catch the attention of everyone except ace, turning to you with one request or another.

this time, however, ace trappolas eyes snap to you along with the others.

Trigun AU

I was crying over my exams, so I went ahead and doodled a little more on the dentist au to cope. Here are the headcanons I came up with lol

Livio

Originally, Livio was meant to be a coworker or even an assistant to Knives in his clinic but I had a revelation. I think there's two things he is most likely to be: A dancer and self defense trainer. No one really expects a bulky guy like him to be so free flowing like that. I think it brings such a fun vibe to him.

He has a space above Knives' clinic and can often be seen picking up children from the ground floor.

He grew up in the church with Nico so he's someone who values God.

He slouches as if to make him smaller. The guy struggles to be stern with his students.

Razlo

Razlo is most likely a prosecutor. Livio grew up in a dangerous and terrible environment before he was brought to the church, so Razlo can be fiercely protective over him. That doesn't mean he hasn't hurt him at some point.

Razlo is musically skilled. I like to think the two of them have a thing going on where Razlo starts playing a random tune out loud and Livio's starts vibing to that.

Meryl

She's a journalist. Well, more like a blogger. Milly and her grew up in the same neighborhood and that's how she met Roberto. In her mind, she admires him and his job. As she grew older though, she did come to realize Roberto isn't the flawless role model she always thought of.

She's very perceptive and quite the smart cookie, but tends to get ahead of herself when she's too excited.

Loud unintentionally. It does benefit her with her work at times, but hanging out with friends? Just bury her six feet under, won't you?

She's studying accountancy because. Just because. I see her being stressed out at the data she's had to recompute for the past hour because Vash is being too loud.

Milly

MY GIRLLLLL

She works part time in a cafe/ restaurant her family owns

Roberto is her uncle (DON'T ARGUE WITH ME)

She's really strong from the amount of groceries and stocks she's asked to carry by her family

Also studying accountancy because she saw how determine Meryl was with her studies.

I guarantee you she finishes the homework first and Meryl asks to doublecheck her answers to see if she (Meryl) got it correct.

Many would call her naive but really, she just likes seeing the good in people. Her parents raised their kids that way afterall.

Her family's restaurant is where the gang hangs out most days.

She's really into motocross and that's how she and Nico bonded over.

Isn't really sporty but will definitely join and demolish you in basically any sport. Basketball? Just try dunking that ball when she's guarding. Hockey? Bro those bruises are going to hurt.

She's got really good luck and she's also really good at board games.

She does tend to get overly emotional though and acts before thinking. Meryl is always quick to swoop in and steady her in these situations.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood

He's an actual priest. I know he has a lot of repressed feelings because of his duties. I mean. His entire inner monologue is just, "You shine so unbelievably bright. You create hope for the people around you like the very god I worship. But it's not like I'd kiss you on the lips or anything or...or whatever."

He's definitely looks older than he actually is.

Weak lungs when he was a child and he's still on medication. That doesn't stop him from smoking though. Everyone around him is always telling him to stop but his response is always, "They didn't fix my lungs just so I don't make use of them."

He can't grow a beard. The best he can get is his stubble and so he is so envious of Roberto's.

He's always dropping bible verses and then gets corrected by Knives about certain facts from the book. He hates him for it.

Legato

He's a fashion designer. He loves being in the field just not as the main focus anymore.

Elegant af in public and yet so unhinged with his crew.

He's got a wonderful voice; probs does voice acting on the side for animated shows/movies.

I like to think everyone takes a look at his work and then research him only to be jumpscared by his alt lifestyle on instagram.

He's cringe as hell to his friend group ngl. He'd sing his early 2000s Avril Lavigne in that overtly cartoonish emo voice.

He's a little obsessed with getting Knives to model for him after they shared one class in college.

Elindira

An influencer and Livio's business partner.

Much stricter on lessons and I think that's why they're compatible.

She's also a lawyer, because I can see her fighting an argument for Livio and winning.

She's very mature...when's not with Legato. Then they immediately link and start bickering like siblings.

She's the type to use a number of pet names for everyone.

Red sportscar. Red lipstick. In her pajamas and wearing cat-eyed shades while holding her head because of the hang-over she has but she still has to pick up the tiny menace from middle school. (Zazie)

She's a wine aunt and you can't convince me otherwise.

Never had a bad hair day in her life

Terrible blunt about things it honestly causes more harm than good but she won't ever lie to your face.

Vash

He likes collecting happy meal toys and displaying them in a glass cabinet in the family house dining room. This has translated to him collecting every single mascot figurine from business partners and local businesses around the area.

In high school, he worked part-time promoting Milly's family restaurant by spinning a sign around in a beat up rented mascot suit. No one will ever know who the kid behind that giant dog head was.

Mama's boy...cough

He dresses like an 80s rockstar or a biker but he's never actually approached a bike because of Mama Rem's constant helicopter parenting.

People just assume he's a 'bad boy' because he has a piercing and is a little full of himself at times.

When he's not interning at Knives' clinic, he's an emergency medical volunteer.

He's always been more of an 'I excel in theory but not in practice' guy.

He once made a patient's gums bleed and had them sobbing because he was too focused on getting on with the procedure he messed up the prep work.

Sneaks candies from the jar on top of Knives' desk

He has a prosthetic because I think it's funny for boyfailure no.1 to randomly have the batteries die or it doesn't function correctly.

Dyslexic and was quite sensitive as a child so he often got picked on.

Knives

Boyfailure no. 2 is a well-known specialist who's always rebelled against his mom but still ended up following her footsteps in the field.

He's lazy. He really feels disgusted having to stick his hands in someone's mouth cavity, but dang does his morbid curiosity always win.

I like to think he's mellowed out here because Vash and him watched My Little Pony and at the same time Superbook. He's like super confused and yet enlightened by all these moral stories and going, "Yeah, you're right, Jesus. Twilight Sparkle did deserve better!" or something...

His older cousin, Tesla, always picks on him for going by Knives rather than the name their mom picked out for him.

Do I think Knives is a kid who decided to pick a chosen name when he was 12? Yes. Yes I do.

He excels objectively and fails miserably when it comes to subjective things.

He wears sandals. Rem always got him and Vash those Velcro strap shoes so he, although he doesn't want to admit it, doesn't know how to tied his laces. He also refuses to search it up because he's convinced himself that Vash has this wagered war of who learns from the youtube video first.

He has difficulty accepting affection despite having Vash and Rem around because as a child, Vash came first. He needed to be prioritized.

Imma get to the others another time.

a mutual friend added you into a group chat and you two instantly clicked. likes to react to your messages with "‼️" , "🫶" , "😭" or literally any other emoji and gets happy when you do the same. you have this thing where you send each other long ass voice messages about your week on Sunday's. loves loves loves calling! even if both of you are busy with something and don't really talk, Yeonjun appreciates being on call with you. you once fell asleep while calling and he stayed with you until you woke up again. (not without teasing you about it) sends you a million posts everyday because he finds them funny or they remind him of you. also loves to send you selfies, OOTD or just random pictures. he has a playlist dedicated to you and tends to share his favorite songs every once in a while. always jokes about getting onto the next plane to visit you. you can always rant to Yeonjun if needed and he knows he can do the same.

CHOI SOOBIN ( 최수빈 )

gaming buddy 1. you met him on twitter and you bonded over music and your favorite games. frequently visits your island in animal crossing or sends you cheats about a game he found out. absolutely loves to challenge you in Mario kart! don't you dare win though, he'd whine about it. always sends you selfies or pics of odi. if you have pets as well he'll get so happy if you do the same! will 100% argue with you which pet is cuter. Soobin is a bit shy at first but the more you get to know him the more he warms up! one day he proposed to call and you've been calling almost everyday since then. tends to spam you when he's ranting or when he talks about something he likes. you definitely plan on meeting one day. always asks you to game when he's in the mood to and texts you whenever he isn't feeling well. he once told you texting to you alone helps him a lot.

CHOI BEOMGYU ( 최범규 )

gaming buddy 2. he cussed you out after you won against him and you just replied with "lol l 🤪". you still don't know how you became friends but you're glad to have met him. need something? Beomgyu's got you. can't beat a boss? he'll help you. he's always up to try out a new game or a gaming session. really annoying at times. will spam you if he wants something from you or if he's bored and likes to send short voice messages where he makes weird noises or screams into the mic. you both send each other gifts for your birthdays. loves listening to your voice! you sometimes send him voice messages when you're on the verge of falling asleep or when you just woke up. he always knows what to say when you feel down or had a bad day and you really appreciate your friendship with Beomgyu. talks about meeting up a looot.

KANG TAEHYUN ( 강태현 )

you met him in a server and he dmed you "we're friends now" one day. likes to playfully tease you but gets defensive when you tease him back. (he secretly likes it but would never admit that.) texts you a lot of random facts or just random things in general. ("I just saw a stone that looked like an apple" , "did you know that Robert Pattinson hated playing Edward Cullen?") likes calling with you because he could listen to you talk for hours. would even sing for you if you ask him! Taehyun always hypes you up and encourages you. he's someone you can always go to. sends you pictures of his cat and video calls you sometimes. he loves to share pictures with you, especially when he's on vacation. has already planned out how he will visit you or you how you will visit him, you just don't know when you'll be able to actually do it. called you "peach" as a joke once but stuck to it after you called him "daisy". it's kinda your thing to call each other stupid names now.

HUENING KAI ( 휴닝카이 )

befriended you on vacation. he sends you good morning and good night messages. gifted you a matching plushie for your birthday! gets really excited when you're on call and intentionally starts to rant sometimes. loves copying you for fun and gets playfully mad when you do the same. adapted some of your texting habits! Kai either complains about his sisters or hypes them up in your dms, no in-between. sends a LOT of gifs or reaction pictures! he once told you he has a whole folder full of them. you have a discord server with only you two and listen to music together there. tends to call you at the most inhuman times because he's bored or can't sleep. you made a to do list full of things you want to do if you see each other again. Kai is your hype boy number one and always cheers you up when you had a bad day and of course you do the same to him. is really invested in whatever tea you tell him.

This is kind of related to that other ask, but I cannot stand it when people claim that Damon is more controlled than Stefan.

When it comes to drinking blood, Stefan is the one who has an addiction. And it’s not comparable to addiction in humans. Lily is a Ripper too, so it might be genetic and Damon didn’t inherit the Ripper gene, but Stefan woke up as a vampire and just became a Ripper because it was a sort of inborn addiction. Then there’s the ‘Stefan needs to drink human blood so he can become a better vampire!’ theory. It drives me insane. No, he doesn’t, as has been proven countless times on the show. I need people to understand that if they were right about Damon having more control than Stefan that doesn't make Damon better.

and right before Klaus compels Stefan to feed from Elena, he’s had some human blood

Not to mention that from 3x01-3x04 we have seen that Stefan is deep in his dark place, he’s in a volatile mindset, he’s been spending months just murdering and feeding and hating himself

and then Klaus compels him, mid-deep in his 3 month Ripper binge to drink from Elena

Damon does not have the same context going into the compulsion scene.

The fact that he has an addiction to the very thing that's meant to sustain him doesn't make him out of control, what would make Stefan out of control is if he did nothing about it.

Man, it never ceases to amaze me how the anti-RWDE crowd are all fake ass progressives that care more about projecting than anything else. RWDE does not care about the workers? I came here because I'm curious, and after having seen all the episodes I have to say that I found it spectacular, it's too good and it perfectly dealt with a subject that affects me a lot, the negative impact of hate comments on the internet (The author of this manga knows how to capture human situations in a very real way, for example, for me the most real romance I have seen is that of Kaguya Sama, so I am not surprised that he has known how to capture the subject so well of bullying). Chapters 6 and 7 were my favorites because of the following: Many years ago I had a friend who was bullied by people online because of a misunderstanding that happened at his high school, and the insults reached such a high point that he ended up taking his own life. His name was Yoshua, and I could have helped him at the time and I didn't, as mentioned in chapter 6, when a person cries for help and no one helps him in time, bad things happen. Toxicity on the internet is enormous, many people who have opinions that are different from other opinions go directly to attack just to be right, they believe that hurting gives their point of view more strength and in the end they can end up causing serious damage, because let's remember that behind every post, image, etc., there is a human with feelings, and many of them don't know how to handle random internet attacks. Attacking others does not make you superior and it will not solve the insecurities you have about yourself. And that would be my opinion on the subject, I can't stand those who harm others, and I found Oshi no Ko wonderful, I'm tempted to read the manga but the anime is so good that I'm resisting that impulse. By the way, I swore that the Oshi no ko manga was finished, I was very surprised to see that they keep publishing chapters.

PS: There is only one thing that worries me, I see that many people hate several main characters, in fact instead of discussing which character is better than the other they argue about which one is worse than the other, and I'm afraid XD. At the moment Akane is my favorite character, I like her and she made me empathize with her a lot from the experience I told you about before.

It's a very good work, and if it's already so good with only 11 episodes, I can't imagine how it will be later, I'll be looking forward to that second season with great anticipation.

This one was really fun to consider so thank you so much for sending it in! I went with KHR for this one, and hope you’ll enjoy!

Tsuna doesn’t honestly have many things that he gets really, really worked up about, other than the very obvious one that we see brought up a lot throughout the manga and anime. He’s really not okay with anyone hurting innocent people, no matter the reasons. It’s not something he can forgive and while he’ll try to understand the other person’s reasoning, he’s going to try to get through to them that it’s not okay and will try to convince them to stop. And if he can’t…let’s not forget, guys, that Tsuna did canonically kill Byakuran in the Future Arc. It might have been an alternate future, so arguments can be made that it doesn’t count, but I do believe that it does.

Gokudera loves good horror movies…or really, really terrible ones. He watches a lot of them and is really well versed in the different horror movie genres and tropes and he can get really fired up when discussing any horror franchises and whether they’re good or bad or whether a new release was worth the hype or not. He does a lot of research into the movies he hated and the ones he loved, so he can pull out all these really interesting but obscure facts in an attempt to get his point across and ‘win’ the discussion/debate.

Yamamoto is a baseball nut through and through. He can easily get into heated discussions and debates over which teams will make the playoffs, on which players should have been traded to which teams, on which players are having good seasons and what they should improve on, and so on and so forth. He’s really knowledgeable on the subject too, so he’s coming in with facts and figures and proof of his opinions.

Ryohei’s topic? C’mon, everyone knows this one! It’s boxing, bar none, with proper training and exercise techniques coming in a close second.

Lambo has very strong opinions on video games. He really likes playing video games, especially if they’re two-player ones, but he’s also really particular about what makes a good video game. Of course, his heated discussion is usually just him calling the other person stupid, wrong, and a doo-doo head, but hey…he’s five, what do you expect?

Hibari has a very strong sense of rules and order. He won’t get into heated debates or discussions on them though. He’s just going to beat them into the head of whoever defies or disagrees with him.

Mukuro likes fashion. He really does. He might have a very unique fashion sense, but clothing and accessories appeal to him and he can get into very heated debates on the subject of fashion, whether it be whether something is simply a trend or a classic style, or what type or brand of boots is better or whether gold is gaudy or timeless.

Chrome actually really likes birds and does know quite a bit about them. She doesn’t really often speak up, but she can get really adamant about what type of bird it is that someone saw or that’s nearby and it can test her patience a little bit if people who don’t know what they’re talking about want to argue with her about it. She normally won’t argue, just because that’s not what Chrome does, but it will really perturb her.

Okay, but nobody is getting into heated arguments with Xanxus. Seriously, anyone who would attempt to do so is taking their lives in their hands and most of them really just succeed in pissing him off and ending up dead or seriously injured. He really does take people trying to start even friendly debates with him as them trying to provoke him or fight with him.

Have you met Squalo? He has strong opinions on everything, and he can make everything into an argument. There is no one thing that makes him get into a heated discussion. There is everything and the heated discussions usually become out and out fights.

Belphegor does think the knives he uses, specially made for him, are, of course, superior to all others, but he does know his other knives. He knows the makes and models, the better points of each brand and type, and does have very strong opinions on which knives are worth it and which ones are made just to look pretty. He can get very, very testy about that topic.

Lussuria has surprisingly strong opinions on boy bands. He knows boy bands from many different cultures, he has his favourites, and he will have no problem telling you why your favourite is trash if it does not mesh with his favourites. For example, in Lussuria’s opinion, BTS is the best K-pop boy band out there currently, and EXO is the worst, and he will have long lectures of why this is true.

Levi really, really does not take kindly to anyone doubting or bad-mouthing his boss. Xanxus is the subject he will most fiercely defend. It doesn’t matter if it’s someone from the Varia or someone from another family or such, but the person who dares to say something anything less than glowing about Xanxus is catching a verbal beat-down and long lectures on Xanxus’ glory from Levi, if he doesn’t just resort to violence.

H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?: It really depends on what I’ve heard, but typically I prefer to read the manga if I really care about the story/want to get through it faster! However there are some cases like Land of the Lustrous or Jujutsu Kaisen where the animation is so good that I start with what’s out of the anime, then go back and read it to ensure I don’t miss any details. Or alternatively, I go to the anime if I just want it as a background story while I draw. I’ve been doing that with Attack on Titan recently, it was a lot better than I anticipated so I presume the general negative opinion I’ve heard derived from its overpopularity not the quality itself? Or maybe it gets really problematic or something, haven’t finished it yet. As for Movies Vs. Books it’s a similar situation, but I prefer books more generally.

J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until tumblr: Honestly, I’ve been introduced to a good portion of my recent fandoms by a friend of mine first, and then convinced to actually start them by tumblr art/my mutuals (mostly Quinn) so if I had to think of something that was genuinely introduced to me here… Good Omens? Haven’t watched it but I see them on my dash constantly. Oh also Witch Hat Atelier!

P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas): Tokyo Ghoul obviously,

maybe an AU where all the folks pulling strings and playing king (Arima, Kaneki, Furuta, Eto) somehow end up in a very uneasy alliance to take down V for good. They argue over the ultimate goal constantly, they all hate at least two of the others, nothing’s really going well but they do get stuff done… somewhat, but they hate each other’s methods and tend to end up fighting after ever decision, and very rarely consulting each other before. The only thing keeping them united is a common goal and wanting to die.

AU where Haise is sent with the Quinx to deal with Noro instead of capturing Shuu on the roof. Shirazu doesn’t die, neither does Kanae (unless Eto decides to dispose of them?) but also, Haise never stops dreaming. But, a King is needed anyways and thus he ends up tentatively playing the role despite shironeki continuing to insist he be let out. I thought this one up right now and I haven’t considered consequences to this yet, but I like it as a concept.

Don’t think I’m inventing this but, AU where someone, legitimately anyone, comes to rescue Kaneki in time, hopefully helping him steer away from the mindset of “No one is able to help me”

AU where Juuzou and Hanbee are a little too effective and end up actually killing Kaneki (or injuring him to the point where he’s unable to dragon-ify even after taking a bite out of Hajime, leaving him only with the strength to flee) effectively throwing a wrench in everyone’s plans.

Not an AU but do you ever think about the fact that every single crucial event in Tokyo Ghoul wouldn’t have happened if Tsuneyoshi was just actually a good dad.

AU where everyone has actually decent parents (This one’s a joke but I actually cannot conceive of it.)

AU were Hide, Kimi, or someone else is the person to get Ghoul’d instead of Kaneki and the consequences thereof.

Very self-indulgent AU where Koori gets kidnapped by Aogiri instead of/in addition to Amon or Takizawa (mostly just writing this here because I’d like to draw it maybe, thematically I’m not really even sure it would work for him to begin with, but I like drawing theoretical ghouls.)

Also not really inventing this but I’d also like to draw a Pokémon AU some time.

Favourite thing about them?

I love his sincere desire to change the world for the better, as well as his love of others and hope for a better future. Of course, it's not just hope but also a DRIVE to make the world better. He just seems like such a sweet, hardworking dude, and if he was real I would love to know him.

Least favourite thing about them?

The fact that we don't get to see more of him. TBF, he died well before the start of Naruto, so we only see him through memories (and that one weird Infinite Tsukuyomi filler story, but I digress.) I want to see how he'd interact with MORE canon characters, I want to see MORE of the original Akatsuki, and I want to know MORE about the Hidden Rain Village.

I'd love a spin-off miniseries about the Hidden Rain Village.

Favourite line?

I'm not always the best at memorizing lines, but I'll go with this one, where he sets out to go on a mission to scout out an area.

Sadly, there are only a few characters we see him interact with in canon, and many of them are minor.

In a happier timeline where nothing bad happened and the Hidden Leaf was magically not corrupt at all, I could see him being friends with Naruto.

Nagato/Yahiko/Konan. They have a deep bond, forged through their collective efforts to endure many hardships. To me, it's as if they are destined to be together and to always develop a deep, intimate care and affection for each other. Even if they were to reincarnate, they'd find each other once more.

I am very neutral on him, so my apologies for some lame-ass answers. Also, i felt like I spent a lot of time writing my opinions on Yahiko.

Favourite thing about them?

His abilities were neat, as one of the few who could use Wood Style. i also respect how he tried his best to keep Team 7 in check and (later on) help rebuild the Hidden Leaf after Pain destroyed it.

Least favourite thing about them?

The fact that he was sidelined for most of the War Arc, serving little use outside of buffing up Zetsus. IDK, that was kind of disappointing.

Oh, I also feel weird about the fact that he's supposed to watch Orochimaru in Boruto. Like, if we treat the anime backstory as canon, dude should be traumatized by Orochimaru.

Favourite line?

That one where he threatens to use "draconic measures" on Team 7 when they keep arguing and fighting each other, I guess.

Kakashi once they are both adults. Sai after he is free from Dan's control, since they could relate to each other a lot (especially if you treat his anime backstory as canon.)

I know it's old news at this point, but something that will always be funny to me that I don't see enough people talking about -- probably because it's so dumb and irrelevant -- but I just love how the Sakura/SS fandom love to come for SP over anything regarding that girl and their ship. Despite the fact that I personally see SP give so many unwarranted good moments for them compared to negative moments, but that's none of my business.

I would also like to state that I am not a fan of the Restuden series, especially Sasuke and Naruto Restuden from the things I've read. Mainly because I think the plot itself is entirely stupid and out of left field for Naruto to suddenly become basically allergic to Kurama in his late twenties early '30s. I could honestly care less about the shipy moments in these novels, but when will people admit the only reason that they like these stories is because it caters to one specific ship? You honestly don't think the story is good because it's not. You just like that Sakura gets highlight to her romance and to some random badass moments. Like come on? How long can you really sit here and pretend that you like that they're fighting dinosaurs? Especially with the largest dinosaur being a herbivore? I'll wait.

Anyway the point I'm trying to make is they praise Jun Esaka, who I'm rather indifferent towards but I find the hate she gets quite ridiculous and absurd at points. They often claim she should be the writer and take over for Boruto because she is a SS shipper and in her stories that involve them she makes content that suits their needs. I.e. Sasuke being a jealous simp and mushy father, Sakura being more confident and damn near wearing the pants in their relationship, random powers that other characters specialize in but suddenly they can use it (for example all of a sudden Sakura can use sensory jutsu, which is Karin's specialty, and Sasuke can use healing and ice style), And overall just all the romance that they had hoped for. Again for example the infamous ring scene, which depending on who you ask was either a good adaption or SP was ruining Sakura. And then you have the lake scene which again they bash them for cutting out certain moments. And finally you have Sasuke screaming for his wife and just overall them being lovey-dovey. And actually don't even get me started on the horrendous motorcycle scene that I guess is in Naruto Restuden, which is the only reason they want that novel adapted but not Kakashi's cause I guess they're not in that.

(Same fans that will come at Hinata for holding hands with Naruto after Neji died despite giving a whole speech pertaining to her cousin, are also the same fans that want Sakura and Sasuke to kiss over a dying Naruto while she drives a motorcycle.... Make it make sense)

Anywho I'm getting so far off my topic but I'm also getting close to my point. The thing I find so funny about Retsuden fans, is the fact that since the anime was far ahead of the manga adaptation, we got to see Sakura get tricked and stabbed by Jiji. When this episode came out, the outpour of rage and disrespect towards this studio -- who has both good and bad moments and I am not a full defender of them because I will admit they can be very biased -- was all I could see on Twitter. I honestly see why people say Twitter is such a toxic place because the fandom on that is just ridiculous. It's just constant arguing more so than on here. Anyway that's besides the point, but I saw so many people trash and compare the anime to the novel since the manga had not gotten to that point yet. They like to say why did he hug her? He never hugged her! There they go making Sakura weak again because she would never do that! Why would she let another man hug her when her husband is right there? Just wait until Sasuke sees what he did to his wife! And just basically overall a bunch of nastiness towards the fact that Sakura was pulled in for a hug by Jiji for an uncomfortably good while before getting stabbed in the back and she did nothing to stop it.

So the funny part is that while everybody is raging about this moment and saying wait till the manga adaptation comes out because the manga follows closely to the novel; The Manga is so much better, there's nothing but silence when it comes out that the manga did the same exact thing. If not did her dirtier than the anime did AKA than SP did.

Now I don't know what was written in the novel specifically, cuz I have not read it. But the gist of what I'm getting from people who have posted about it is that Sakura is just pulled back and stabbed. There's no hug. In the anime, Sakura is pulled back into a hug where Jiji rests his hand on her head and she just stands there before he stabs her in the back and drops her. Now in the oh so beloved and highly praised and worshiped manga adaptation that everyone was saying would do the novel justice, Sakura gets grabbed and pulled into a hug where, again, Jiji rests his hand on her head before stabbing her in the back. Now the difference is as far as I know, which I could probably be wrong because I never watched further in the scenes than what was on Twitter, is that in the anime he just lets her crawl because the kunai was poisoned.

But in the manga he kicks her in her face while she's already down and feeling the effects of the poison making her knock back against the wall.

Now tell me which one disrespects her more. I'll wait. Because after that panel came out, the only thing I heard was that the manga adaptation was going to be put on a hiatus. That was the only thing that was going around despite that being one of the last panels. Where is the outrage that she let somebody hug her that wasn't her husband, where is the calls for the artist to quit his job or that he's wrong and that that would never happen to her? Where is the same amount of rage that y'all put towards SP for animating that but not towards the artist who drew it?

To be honest this fandom, especially Sakura/ss fans really baffle me. I can get wanting moments and great things for your favorites, and I'm not going to pretend that it's only their fandom that acts this way because I've seen plenty of other fandoms including the fandom of my personal favorite Hinata acting out of control, but the amount of blatant hypocrisy and doubled standards that they have towards animators and content creators and anything that has to do with Naruto works is hilarious and astounding.

Yes your ship might be the most popular, and yes your ship might be known as the most powerful in the series. But unfortunately you are one of the most toxic fandoms and I feel bad for the actual neutral parties that just actually enjoy it and don't make it as if they're being bullied every time something doesn't go their way for this ship and character. I now see why people say there is a difference between being a regular Sakura fan and being a Sakura fan that also ships Sasuke and Sakura. And vice versa too when it's said there's a difference between being a Sasuke fan and a Sasuke fan who ships Sasuke and Sakura.

No hate to this author Jun Esaka. I wish her nothing but the best with her pregnancy and with her career because clearly she has fans, as biased as they may be. And to the people who constantly wish harm on this woman just because you don't like her preferences need to get a grip on reality and realize it's literally just cartoons. Yes we can love them and they can inspire us and we can enjoy them, but it is just content for our entertainment. People really need to stop putting their contempt for a character into reality and onto a real person. It is not and will never be that serious. And speaking of reality checks, my final point is that that one manga panel was the exact reality check that that fandom needed to slow their freaking roll and stop having this weird biased hate towards a studio that has often done more good than harm for their ship compared to others.

Whenever I say that emotions are shitty liars and we should spend less time Validating them and more time exposing their calumny, people always want to make the distinction that feelings are always valid, only your reaction to the feelings can be judged. And the problem is that's true if you're arguing about "validity" as a moral category, which I am not because I don't give a shit about that.

And that's in some sense a privileged position that I have! Not in the sense of privilege as institutional power, but just like -- good fortune. I was raised in the Free To Be You and Me era, by hippies with advanced psychology degrees and Mr. Rogers. I already know that it's "valid" to experience negative emotions, in the sense of "normal and inevitable" and also in the sense of "thought crime is fake." I know some people were acculturated into an extremely different belief system that prioritized pure thoughts and a pure heart. That sucks -- people lied to you and it fucked you up a little, or maybe a lot. If that's where you're currently at, I get it, and probably what you do really still need is some version of Mr. Rogers coaching you nonjudgmentally through what to do with the mad that you feel. That's a little basic when it comes to emotional literacy, but if you never mastered the basics, you gotta start sometime!

However, I'm not talking about that because it's boring to me. What's fascinating to me is that emotions feel real even when they are "invalid" in the sense of "based on literally fuckall." Like, you know what makes me blinding angry? The self-checkout machine telling me nine times to scan an item I just scanned. I wanna put my fucking fist through the thing! I want to kill it.

Now, the reality is that there is nothing happening in those moments that truly justifies my emotional reaction. I don't react like that to actual human beings, even the ones who are trying to hurt me on purpose! Certainly a little piece of machinery making my checkout experience longer by maybe ten seconds is -- like, it's not even a thing! The proportional emotional reaction to that is basically nothing. And being angry with something that has no volition is ridiculous, but how often do most of us do it? We're angry at the traffic lights or the security questions on our bank app or the fucking weather. It's such an ordinary experience, we bond over how angry these random little inconveniences make us. And by the way, the people who value purity of heart most keenly do seem to displace extremely aggressive anger onto inconveniences at a disproportionately high rate, which is how you get high-vibes yoga moms or good church deacons screaming like a lunatic about some problem with their Instacart order.

So, like. Obviously something else is going on. I'm not angry at this machine for wasting my valuable ten seconds. Not really. I'm angry because so much of my life is spent interfacing with automated systems and I resent all the million little ways I feel unseen as a human being. I'm angry because I was raised by a culture that taught me the one and only realm of my life where I was allowed to have unquestionable authority over my own experience is when it's my turn to be The Customer, so it feels especially violating when I'm helpless within my Paying Customer Experience. And I'm angry because I usually do my grocery shopping on the way home from work, and I'm tired and hungry and my animal brain is feeling increasingly desperate about this threatening situation.

Those are emotions that are important, in the sense of needing to be validated and understood, but you can't even get to them until you you recognize that what feels enormously real right now -- that I hate this specific machine and long for the opportunity to break it -- is in fact false. The truth is, this doesn't matter, and I won't care about it five seconds after I walk out. The truth is, I wouldn't feel better if I broke the machine; it wouldn't solve any problem I have, and I'd just feel like a dumbass. The truth is, telling myself it's normal and healthy and valid to hate self-checkout machines obscures the actual powerful clarity I can achieve when I stop and think, what's the true thing that I can't focus on while I'm being angry about this fake thing? The emotion itself (I'm going to kill this fucking machine!) is a maladaptive response, even though I never actually act on it. The emotion itself is part of a set of lies I tell myself about my life and how I feel about it. It's not immoral, but it's an obstacle, the same way uncritically accepting any false thing is an obstacle to my ultimate goal, which is to live a life as unburdened by lies as possible.

Whenever Duncan gets released from Juvie/Breaks out, instead of going home he heads straight for Courtney’s house(even if it means he’s sitting on a bus for 5+ hours) Doesn’t matter if it’s day or night, he just crawls in her window and gets comfortable, she always gets startled to see him in her room or crawling in the window but it happens a lot to the point that she just lets it happen.

Duncan starts to need glasses after a couple years, maybe years of straining his eyes from sneaking around in the dark, carving small details in his wood projects, getting hit in the eye during fights & just genetics starts to affect him when he gets older. He doesn’t wear them all the time, only when he really needs to lol

Duncan might be an absolute menace to other people but when it comes to animals it’s canon that he’s the opposite, so if he sees a stray dog on the street, if he doesn’t take them in himself, he definitely gives them food, water & warmth before he makes his way again

Sorta attached to that last HC but it’s canon that he’s attacked wild animals (deers, alligators, raccoons, etc.) so I just wonder if he specifically just doesn’t like wild animals? If so, why? 😳 Maybe he’s been hunting before or has hunters in his family, which ultimately is something him, Bridgette & DJ definitely argue about.

So I still HC that Courtney tends to get lost in her thoughts and spaces out A LOT, but whenever she does and if Duncan catches her, he immediately takes a picture.. he has a whole folder in his phone with Courtney completely unaware of things happening around her, his favorites are the ones where she looks a little cock-eyed lmfao she fights him to delete them fr
