Ok picture this: Yurgir.
There’s more
I would love to read something…… softe. Not necessarily wholesome, mind, and not necessarily Deep Emotional Feelings but something………… cute. Non-specific Tav with any pronouns, however blank you want - any class, race, whatever.
Ideas: whatever pining looks like for an orthon. ‘Whoa little rabbit is an impressive fighter actually’. Post-Netherbrain perhaps? Or meeting up with mans in Avernus post Act 3? Puppy love type beat.
POV: In a perfect world, 3rd person Yurgir heavy.
A Little Rabbit Plot Bunny Yurgir x Tav
A softer side to the Orthon Commander? Absolutely! Yurgir loves Little Rabbits so this particular plot bunny should be extra fluffy. The hells aren't known for their softness, or for romance, but that makes it all the more ripe to have the huge Orthon working out just why it is he is so fascinated by this small mortal creature. Any Tav you like will work with this bunny, but do remember to keep it soft-ish. Whatever "soft" might look like to an Orthon. Perhaps gifts, weapon or some special armour to help protect the soft parts of the Little Rabbit, ones that he pokes at - ever so gently - with those gargantuan fingers of his. Anyone adopting this plot bunny will have a lovely challenge on their hands, and no doubt an audience who would love to see more content for a rarer character, too!

So, I drew Achilles Tolliver for the first (and for the last, I believe) time. I have my own headcanons about him:
He's really tall (6,5 ft), but not so shapely, he has big ears and too long legs and arms
He has a pretty face, close to baby-face type, blue eyes, wheat hair and tanned skin. His smile is so wide and white, but if you look at him longer, you find it a little unpleasant
His father is from the USA and mother is from Greece. That's why he has a vacation in Greece twice a year
He's not really good at combat spells, but he's good as a detective
He looks sneaky, but his strong trait is honesty. He honestly admired Tina and called her an excellent auror and also honestly said his opinion about beasts. When she left him, Achilles took it easily and forget about her for the next day, because there are a lot of fishes in the ocean
He's cheerful, chatting and a little annoying
He was a ladies' man in his youth, but then he meets an amazing woman who is older than him at 20 years, and lives happily with her.
and a messy sketch (Achilles looks too kinder in this version)

I would like to draw some characters from Fantastic beasts, who only mentioned, but not appeared in the movies. So, who's next?

You know, when I see fictional characters who repress all their emotions, they're usually aloof and very blunt about keeping people at a distance, sometimes to an edgy degree—but what I don't see nearly enough are the emotionally repressed characters who are just…mellow.
Think about it. In real life, the person that's bottling up all their emotions is not the one that's brooding in the corner and snaps at you for trying to befriend them. More often than not, it's that friendly person in your circle who makes easy conversation with you, laughs with you, and listens and gives advice whenever you're upset. But you never see them upset, in fact they seem to have endless patience for you and everything around them—and so you call them their friend, you trust them. And only after months of telling them all your secrets do you realize…
…they've never actually told you anything about themselves.

Bear with me here because I might end up torturing this particular metaphor, but when it comes to trying to get the image of a scene onto the page in the form of descriptive narrative, it might be useful to approach it like a visual artist.
If you've ever watched an artist do their thing (or if you're an artist yourself), you know that they don't just start at the top left corner of the page and draw the entire scene in all its detail, all in one go. I'm going to use an example of digital drawing with the use of software like Photoshop here because I have no idea if this metaphor will work with pencil and paper.
You have an image in your head. It might be super clear. It might be more vague. When you're starting to describe it, just sketch it in. Create a layer of broad strokes information like what the location is, how many people are in it, and what activity is happening.
Then add in a layer - whichever one is easiest. Let's pretend it's the location. Read through the sketch that you currently have and see where you have opportunities to describe the location. You don't have to front load everything at the top of the chapter, for example. You can add in details about the location as the characters move through it.
Add another layer. Are the characters' appearances different from what they previous were? Are you just establishing them at the start of the story? Do they have a "uniform" that they wear in canon that you've opted not to change? You can add in whatever details here you want, and again don't feel like you have to put it all in the same place. You can talk about a ponytail falling loose partway through an action. Or wait until someone else comments on a character's new pair of shoes.
Add another layer. What are the characters doing? How are they moving? Interacting?
Another layer. What are they saying? How do they sound?
Another layer. What other sounds are in the room? What smells? Do these change? Appear or disappear?
Keep going back and forth, toggling your way through your layers, adding things in here and removing them there. Every artist knows that sometimes a line just doesn't go in the right place and you have to erase it and draw it again.
Remember that no amount of work will give your reader a perfect representation of the vision in your mind, but also please know that that's okay.
By the time you finish your scene, some of those early layers might not exist anymore, and that's okay too. They were the sketch that started your verbal drawing. The base you used to guide your inks. Your final render won't have every line or brush stroke in it, and it'll be all the better for it in the end.

Nico referring to his mom as "Mama" implies he most likely at least used to refer to Hades as "Papa" and i 100% headcanon he still does but mostly in the manner of him having the entire Underworld wrapped around his finger for being the baby of the family
#pjo#riordanverse#nico di angelo#headcanon#my art#nico flexing youngest child privilages by pulling out the most pitiful expression he can manage#anyways i find it fun to explore character word choices#cause yknow no two characters are going to select their words the same way#or even necessarily think about it to the same degree#i like to think Nico thinks about his word choice a lot#so of course every time he uses ''papa'' he fully knows he's pulling the Baby Of The Family card#Hades definitely knows this too but falls for it every time anyways#cause Nico hasnt called him ''papa'' regularly since getting his memory wiped - just detached ''father'' or at best ''dad''#so it just reminds Hades of How Much He Just Wants His Children To Be Happy Like The Old Days#and how much poor Nico has been through and he's just the baby of the family and-#cue Nico smugly staring at the camera cause he knows how much power he holds#also i say Nico is Hades' only son cause mythologically even when Zagreus *is* Hades' son (rarely) he's. dead.#a major part of Zagreus' mythology is that he died#and im p sure every other deity said to be Hades' children are all goddesses and also are like 50% of the time not his#theres also only like 3 of them. and as far as we know in riordanverse canon one of them is implied to not be his daughter#so Nico is Hades' only son and also youngest in the family (cause Hazel is older by a month chronologically or 1 year biologically)#(and everybody else is a deity if children of hades at all)

listen I expected literally Nothing from the D&D movie okay, like I can't make it clear enough that I expected the most soulless money grab with a good cgi budget imaginable, I went in having already gone through every stage of grief and landed on acceptance and LISTEN
I fucking CRIED during this dumb RPG movie. it wasn't just "not terrible" it was objectively good with a clever plot and compelling characters and sincere emotional beats. this movie loves D&D so fucking much and it NAILS the "a bunch of goobers try to be cool and accidentally discover The Power Of Friendship And Also Great Violence" classic D&D party vibe. their barbarian's last name is fucking Kilgore and my entire family cried in the theater.
I hope they make twelve of these motherfuckers.

Riz Gukgak will forever be my special little guy, because in a world where aspec characters are borderline non-existent, he was not just a cool character who happened to be aroace. He also had an incredibly compelling character arc unique to him as an aspec, and the character arc was so iconic it birthed one of the most memed moments in the entire series.
