Don't Sneak up on People with Swords
@im-totally-not-an-alien-2 made a prompt about Danny sneaking up on Jason Todd and @sky00asara made a comment in the tags about what would happen if Danny did that to Talia. So here is my version of that! Enjoy.
Talia al Ghul watched her beloved from afar. He was out, again patrolling his city for those he considered wrong doers. Her son was by his side. She scowled at how Damian’s fighting style had changed, softened in the company of her beloved. Despite her love for the man under the cowl, he had a tremendous ability to take even the most ruthless of killers and change them to spare the undeserving. He had even tried it with her.
She was hidden on the roof of an abandoned tower nearby. The tower had succumbed to fire and was now condemned until the city got around to destroying it properly. For now it made the perfect place for her to observe her beloved and her son work undisturbed.
“Excuse me?”
Talia whirled, drawing her blade as she spun. Her blade moved fast enough to almost cut the air itself yet the small shape ducked under her stroke and back-pedaled quickly to move out her range.
“Jeez! Why is everyone in this city so jumpy!”
The voice more than anything made her realize that the person who had somehow snuck close enough was an actual child. Their black hair and blue eyes made her wonder if this was another of her beloved’s adoptees. Except surely this boy was too young to catch Bruce’s eye?
“Well maybe you should not sneak up on people?” Talia hissed, her voice soft yet stern. To say nothing of how a child who couldn’t be older than five had snuck up on her at all.
“Well maybe you shouldn’t brood on the roof of my home!” The child snarked back, just like one of the Bat’s brood would, completely unafraid of the blade still in her hand. Talia raised an eyebrow at him then looked around at the burnt skeleton of the building they were standing on.
“This building is not fit for human occupation.”
“Neither was the last place I lived.” He said dismissively. “This place hasn’t even killed me yet, so it’s practically a paradise.”
She was tempted to take the child’s words as sarcasm, yet something in the way he spoke made her think he meant it more truthfully.
“You’ve died before?” Talia asked. She relaxed her hold on her blade, allowing it to rest at her side.
“Oh yeah, I die all the time.” He said, then he looked at her curiously tilting his head first one way, then another. “You’ve died too, huh?”
She nodded, now examining him closely, looking for the signs she would recognize. She could see the hint of a scar on the boy’s palm that might have caused a death.
“What is it with this town that so many people have died and come back?” The boy asked, apparently rhetorically as he didn’t let her answer. “First the stabby Robin, then the stabby Batgirl, then Batman, and even Red Hood. It’s like everyone I run into is contaminated.”
Talia’s eyes widened.
“You can sense those who have utilized the Lazarus Pits?” She would have to inform her father about this child. He could put the entire League of Assassins at risk. The child before her just shrugged.
“I have no idea what that is. Red Hood mentioned some kind of pit as well, but I’ve never seen anything like that. I just know y’all are contaminated with ectoplasm, though not enough to make a core.”
“What is this… ectoplasm?” Another name for the Lazarus Waters? Had there perhaps been a Pit outside of League control? In the midwest somewhere based on the boy’s accent.
“Oh it’s this stuff.” He held his hand out and Talia couldn’t help keep her expression of shock withdrawn despite all her training as his hand filled with the glowing green light of the Pits. He held the Pit Water in his hand then tossed the glowing orb to his other hand in a half juggle as if he weren’t carrying the League's greatest secret and weapon.
Nevermind telling her father about this child, he could never learn of him. If Ras had the power this child had under his control the world would never survive. There was only one option. She needed to train this child to wield this strength. With the stealth he displayed in sneaking up on her and his power over the Pits themselves he could make an assassin like the world had never seen. He could be the next Head of the Demon under her guidance. She knelt down to the boy’s level, slipping her sword back away as she did so.
“Tell me, young one. Are you living in this death trap of a building all by yourself?”
“Yeah, but don’t worry, I’ve got it taken care of. I know I’m little, but that just means people are less likely to notice me. I’m able to steal all the food I need from that big box store down the street.”
“Oh of that I have no doubt. My name is Talia al Ghul. What’s yours?”
“Hmm. I’m Danny.” The boy seemed hesitant to trust her, which to be perfectly honest was probably a very smart thing to do, but at least she had a name for this gift of Lazarus.
“Danny, how would you like to come live with me? You won’t have to steal any more, or worry about food ever again, and I could train you how to fight even better than the Bats.”
He narrowed his eyes at her, looking her over closely.
“Would I get a sword?”
“If a sword is what you want, then once you were trained in its use I would acquire one for you.”
Danny looked like he was about to nod, but then he froze, his head tilting to the side as if he was listening to something. His eyes widened and Talia tensed.
“Uh-oh. Fruit Loop incoming. I gotta go.”
Talia half turned as she heard the sound of one of her beloved’s grappling lines catching on the building’s edge. By the time she had turned back to face him, Danny had completely vanished. She hadn’t even heard him leave. She stood and scowled as her beloved landed on the rooftop next to her.
“Talia.” He grunted at her, glaring all the while.
“Beloved. Must you ruin every nice thing in my life?” Talia snarled back. The boy, Danny, had the gift of Lazarus at his beck and call and Batman had scared him off.
Bruce looked momentarily stunned at her fury, but quickly hid it behind his mask. However Talia couldn’t care less about her beloved right now. She just needed to lose him so she could return to find the boy. The boy who would change the world with his power.

yes yes yes.
send a prompt
“hey, babe! can you come here for a second?”
your voice traveled down the hallway and you could hear the sound of lando’s dress shoes making their way down the wooden floor. he walked into the bathroom, damn near stopping in his tracks when he saw you standing in your dress.
“what’s up?” he swallowed, trying not to focus on how good the color looked on you, how it complimented your eyes and your skin tone.
“can you do this zipper for me? i can’t reach,” you softly laughed, turning your back to him. he hummed, reaching out to the zipper with slightly shaky hands. you moved your hair to the side, scared of it getting caught as he pulled the zipper up.
when it was zipped, he moved his hands and wrapped them around your waist, standing with you in the mirror as you both looked back at your reflections. you fixed your hair and made sure your makeup was perfect before you met his eyes.
“what?” you asked with a smile.
he didn’t realize he had been staring at you, “you look so beautiful.”
you turned around, facing him and reaching down to fix his tie, “you do too.”
he laughed softly, intently studying your face as you worked on tying the tie. once you had succeeded, you tucked it back into place, running a hand over it.
“let’s get married,” lando’s mouth poured out what his brain had said, but he didn’t care.
you laughed softly, “when? right now?”
he smiled, “whenever you want. you say it and it’s done, i’ll go buy a ring.”
you shook your head and wrapped your arms around his neck, “i thought you wanted to wait?”
his snaked around your waist again, “im a changed man now.”
you giggled and rolled your eyes playfully, “okay so, a little secret wedding where no one knows we’re married, only we do?”
he threw is head back, a smile still on his face, “perfect.”

angstober (4)
Tumblr media
Prompt: "Just Breathe"
Pairing: Bucky x Reader
A/n: More angst!! I appreciate all the support for these little drabbles sooooo much!!
angstober masterlist here ♡
~~~
“Come on. Come on!”
Bucky was panicking.
How had you fallen so fast? So suddenly?
One moment you were beside him, the next you were mixed between cracked concrete and metal pipes—falling, falling, falling. Who knew bridges were so unreliable?
“Wake up, sweetheart. Come on, please,” he pleaded. Begged. His hands kept moving, kept pushing life into your chest as tears mixed with the saltwater on his cheeks. “You don’t get to leave me.”
Steve was somewhere near the shore, fighting off whatever creature had blown up the bridge. And thank god for Steve, because Bucky would sooner let the creature from space eat him before he left you. Before he let you die.
In some cynical, self-hating part of his brain, Bucky registered that you were already dead.
He pumped his arms more steadily, applying more pressure, willing your heart to start beating. You weren’t dead. You weren’t. Because if you were gone… well, Bucky felt the repercussions of such a thing as he stared down at your waning, wet skin. Your lips were turning an unnatural shade and Bucky felt the reality, this reality, sink into his very bones.
Sand bit into his knees where the torn material of his pants failed him, but Bucky felt it like lidocaine had been injected right to the site. A sob wracked his chest, almost crippling him as he gave his breath to you, and Bucky decided right then and there that nothing in his life had compared to this.
The way your body moved was making him sick. You only budged when he forced the motion into your limbs, your neck only turned when he tilted it up to try and save you.
This was awful, unimaginable.
“I love you,” he whispered, shaking hands coming to brush the hair from your forehead. You hated when it fell into your eyes. “I love you, honey. Please.”
His words broke, so Bucky kissed your skin instead. Your cheek, your neck, your shoulder—he kissed you to quell the unevenness of his own breath, and then he restarted compressions.
“You can’t—” he struggled. “—you can’t let a little water take you out. I love you so much, it doesn’t work like that.”
But, in real life, it did work like that.
There was nothing supernatural pumping in your veins. You were human, breakable, and while Bucky was used to this truth, he had never felt it as strongly as he did in this moment.
Somewhere, Steve called his name.
Bucky was only listening for one sound, and it wasn’t Steve.
Grief invaded the deepest parts of him, and it was slowing him down. Bucky never felt slow. Bucky was a machine. He could fix things and make them right. He had strength and invincibility and power.
Bucky could fix you, too. He could make you right.
Couldn’t he?
His crying had turned unintelligible, just small words lost between tears and gasping breaths. You’d cried like this one time. Right now, Bucky couldn’t remember why, but he’d held you and told you he’d never leave you. He’d run gentle fingers across your temple and stayed awake when you fell into a fitful sleep.
Bucky was alone as he cried.
“I can’t do this without you. I can’t.”
You coughed. It started small and then grew into a hacking, choking sound. Bucky startled, took a split second to watch the way your chest moved on its own, and then he pulled you forward with vigor. Your chin slotted over his shoulder and his hand made an imprint in the wet material at your back.
“Hey, hey,” he breathed, shaky and softer than he had ever spoken. “Just breathe. You’re okay. Breathe, I got you.”
Your fingers curled into his shirt, ripping at velcro and kevlar as you fought for air. Bucky held you through it, pressed his nose to the warming skin of your head and rocked the two of you without realizing it. Grief was still pounding in his bones. He wasn’t sure if that would go away anytime soon. If the weight of you being dead was ever going to leave him, even as you sat in his arms and choked out breaths.
“Bucky,” you eventually wheezed out, pulling back from his grasp. “I—”
“Shhh,” he hushed. Because as much as he wanted to hear you speak, hear proof that you were lucid and knew him and loved him, you were struggling. “Don’t try to talk. You’re okay. You’re okay, right?”
It sounded like a question no one could answer.
But you nodded, and Bucky pulled you back into his chest. “Just breathe, baby. You’re okay.”
DP X DC WRITING PROMPT #10
(#) = Notes at end of post
TW: mentions of human experimentation and blood
The Sapphire Stone Sits Highest on the Throne
The GIW have done the unthinkable. They've captured Phantom, King of the Infinite Realms and ruler of all who reside within it. The government organization tortured and experimented on Danny so much and for so long that Danny was forced to recede into his core. While a ghost's core is relatively strong by itself --only another ghost of similar strength could shatter it-- it's also extremely vulnerable to misuse if left in the wrong hands.
The GIW use the King's core to ravage Amity Park --uncaring if human citizens got in their way-- as well as the Ghost Zone itself. The Ancients combine their efforts to search for the lost, little king, desperately trying to find Danny's core and take it back from the blood and ectoplasm stained hands of the agents. As a result of their dogged search, the Ancients bring worldwide destruction down upon the Earth in their hunt for every single white suit agent remaining, scurrying from one hiding place to another like rats in the walls of a dilapidated house.
One by one, almost every agent was hunted down and bound in unbreakable chains of ice, awaiting their trials for the atrocities they committed against the Infinite Realms and its King. The only one left is the leader of the organization itself, the one who holds Danny's core. The leader, however, is extremely slippery and has managed to evade capture for months now, going so far as to throw their own men to the wolves if it meant an easy escape with the jewel-blue heart of a scared, grieving, and injured child.
At this point though, the Ancients have caused so much destruction and natural disasters, that the Justice League has no choice but to step in. At first, the JL actively try to fight the Ancients, not fully understanding the situation but having little luck in actually hitting any of them regardless. It isn't until John Constantine runs onto the battlefield like a bat out of hell and skids to a stop right smack dab in the middle of the fight that things change. He's out of breath, his hair is in disarray, he smells heavily of smoke and alcohol, and that's definitely a still fresh coffee stain on his weather beaten trenchcoat along with red blood painting his knuckles.
Normally, one small human wouldn't be able to stop the wrath of the Ancients when they've set their sights on something. This instance, however, was very different. As Constantine raised his hands up towards the rampaging Ancients about to unleash their fury on the JL, one thing managed to capture every single one of their attention.
That being the weakly glowing, sapphire-like core held in one of Constantine's outstretched hands(1 & 2) and the faint, echoing cries of a child begging the Ancients to put an end to the carnage they've unleashed upon the world.
Notes:
(1) Constantine gives little explanation on how he got his hands on Danny's core. Little do the JL know, it was just pure, dumb luck. He ran into the leader of the GIW right as the bastard was leaving a coffee shop. Coffee got spilled all over Constantine and, being slightly drunk off his ass, he decides to deck the person in the pretentious white suit and knocks him out in one shot. Constantine's about to walk away when he hears a child crying. He finds Danny's core in one of the downed guy's pockets and has a panic attack when he immediately realizes what it is. Danny explains what's going on and Constantine books it towards where he can sense a large amount of necrotic energy gathering. The rest is history.
(2) ALSO, sapphire is a pretty significant gem. According to the internet, the sapphire symbolizes wisdom, royalty, prophecy and divine favour. It's a symbol of power and strength, but also of kindness and wise judgement. Which just fits Danny PERFECTLY in this prompt, imo.
a spark of realization
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: non-idol!hoshi x gn!reader
prompt: soulmate au series. 13/13
word count: 5.0k~
warnings: some food mentions. some angst. coworkers au. platonic love between soonyoung and his friends <3 some alcohol mentions (all regarding soonyoung drinking, no real mentions of reader actually drinking). mentions of static shocks throughout.
daisy’s notes: soonyoung looks at all of his friends and goes 'i love u all so much' and im like god same me when i look at my friends
summary: Unlike Jihoon and every other friend that swore they didn’t have one, Soonyoung knows he doesn’t have a soulmate. He’s tried plenty of the subtle soulmate things. He doesn’t feel anyone’s pain or emotions, he doesn’t taste anything weird, and he’s dyed his hair enough times to know that he most likely doesn’t have someone out there. Yet the static that makes his hair stand on end sometimes just causes him to think that maybe there’s something else to expect…
Tumblr media
Kwon Soonyoung was positive about one thing in his life: he did not have a soulmate. Never showed any signs when he was ten onward, and he never would. Sure, it hurt to hear when he was ten—he was ten and stuck into this category of “without” regardless of how he felt about having a soulmate, that was sure to make anyone upset—but he’d figured things out for himself while growing up. Some people hated their soulmates. Other people loved them, sure, like… every single one of his friends now, but that was beside the point. Soonyoung had decided several things for himself.
One: he didn’t need a soulmate to be happy and fulfilled. Plenty of people didn’t end up with their soulmates. Plenty of people didn’t have a romantic relationship with their soulmates, but stayed in touch. Some people didn’t even want their soulmates at all, either. Therefore: no one needed a soulmate to be a complete person. He was just fine on his own. (This was something his parents taught him from an early age.)
Two: Soonyoung did have soulmates, actually. Twelve of them. His twelve closest friends were his soulmates, platonically, and they’d all chosen each other in life. But if he had to pick one, then it was easily Jihoon. The two had known each other the longest now, and Soonyoung had told him one night that if neither of them had soulmates, then they were platonic soulmates. And even after Jihoon found his soulmate, Soonyoung still believed in it. The two of them just fit together in a way that was right.
“Really?” Jihoon had been half-asleep on the couch that night, tired from both work work and music work. He and Joshua had to re-record the song they’d been working on… again. Soonyoung could admire how dedicated Jihoon was to having a perfect product, though. “That’s sappy.”
Soonyoung had giggled, admittedly very much not sober. “No, no, I mean it! We’re soulmates, I think.” Another burst of giggles as he reached toward Jihoon’s hand. “I know you have one now, but…”
Jihoon gently patted his cheek. “No, you’re right. We’re soulmates, too.” He shut his eyes, about to nod off again. “Soonyoung…” He yawned, turning onto his side. His dark eyes found Soonyoung’s a moment later, only barely open. “I don’t want to give you false hope, but… Have you ever looked into it?”
Soonyoung leaned against him. Of course he had. Hadn’t most people who did, deep down, want a soulmate? Well, maybe except Vernon. Vernon did his own thing most of the time. “I don’t wanna.”
“You don’t have to,” Jihoon said, understanding as always. “But…”
“Hm?”
“It’s hard to live in a world where I would have one and you wouldn’t.” Jihoon’s voice was heavy with sleep, and his eyelids fluttered shut again a moment later. “That’s all.”
“Why not?” Soonyoung stifled a yawn. “You’re cool. You make music. Plenty of people would love that. You can write your soulmate love songs now.”
It earned a quiet chuckle from Jihoon. “Just…” He trailed off. “I was okay with not having one because love is… different. Like what Wonwoo says about it. It’s a choice and something you make. But you…”
Soonyoung blinked curiously at him. He…?
“Anyone would love you,” he mumbled, clearly beginning to doze off now. “I just don’t understand how it could be me and not you.”
Soonyoung had decided to love Jihoon extra from that point on. Jihoon’s soulmate did the same, and everyone else truly adored Jihoon, but Soonyoung understood. Jihoon never saw himself as the leading man in any situation. He wasn’t sure if that extended to believing he wasn’t anyone’s first choice (he was always Soonyoung’s, if that meant anything), but Soonyoung didn’t need to know. He just knew that he would always hype up Jihoon as much as he could. Everyone did, to be fair, but Soonyoung was happy to be a louder voice among the crowd. He would always be there to stream his songs when they were released and share them on every account he had, even if that sometimes required Seungcheol or Wonwoo helping him not break the link in the process.
But he’d never let go of that thought. How could it be me and not you? As if Jihoon deserved a soulmate less than Soonyoung did. Soonyoung had his moments of yearning, the same way that Seokmin often did, but he wouldn’t trade places with any of his friends. Their soulmates meant something to them. Soonyoung had seen the way Seungkwan doted on his soulmate day in and day out, and he’d quietly apologized to him once for the times he’d made inappropriate jokes.
“What, those?” Seungkwan hadn’t seemed bothered in the slightest. “You were trying to make light of things so I wouldn’t worry.” He crossed his arms. “They hurt in those moments, but I can’t blame you for trying.”
How did Soonyoung get so lucky? Was this what the universe granted him in exchange for lacking a soulmate…? He wasn’t sure, but he wouldn’t trade any of his friends for a soulmate. He’d happily make do with the twelve he’d forged any day.
Tumblr media
Okay, so maybe Soonyoung was getting in his head a little. Seokmin had just spent a  little over two weeks in a time loop because, surprise, he also had a soulmate. Which sent Soonyoung down a small spiral. According to some study out there that still needed more information to be more valid or whatever, a good portion of people who were told they didn’t have soulmates when they were ten were people who didn’t have obvious signs. Time loops, hair colors matching, lost items, sparks flying, colored footprints leading to the other person… All things that people simply wouldn’t have seen at age ten.
So maybe Soonyoung started to dye his hair after Jihoon found his soulmate. It wasn’t abnormal, Soonyoung did like to play with his hair. It’d been a while since he’d gone bleach blonde. And maybe his soulmate didn’t care and that was why he stayed bleach blonde until his roots started to show. And maybe his soulmate didn’t care that their hair was cherry red not long after that…
And, maybe, Soonyoung was acutely aware of the date after Seokmin broke his loop. Each day followed one another as they always did, but Soonyoung swore a Tuesday felt just like a Monday once.
And maybe, just maybe, Soonyoung lost a bracelet with his name on it. Joshua made him another one, no question, but he hadn’t found anything that didn’t belong to him (or Jihoon) in his living space. Everything was in its proper spot, just as it was supposed to be. Nothing new.
No footprints stood out to him, and he hadn’t bumped into anyone lately that made him feel those mystical sparks that Jun once told him about.
Kwon Soonyoung did not need a soulmate to be happy… So why did he want one so badly?
“I don’t need one,” was what he blubbered to Seungcheol one night, a week after Seokmin broke his time loop. “I don’t. I shouldn’t act like I need one to be happy because I am happy. I’ve been happy before, so—”
“It’s okay.” Seungcheol had held him as he cried. “Soonyoung, it’s normal for people to want them just as much as it’s normal for people to not. If you want a soulmate, it’s okay.”
How was he supposed to say that now it was starting to hurt? That all twelve of the soulmates he chose in life had their own soulmates, even the ones who were convinced they didn’t?
“Work is still bad,” Soonyoung said suddenly, still crying into Seungcheol’s shoulder. The words just seemed to dribble from his mouth now, no true thoughts behind them. “Two of the new hires took off because they found out they were soulmates and—and they wanted to get busy living life while they could. And now all of us are staying every night because we have to make up their work, and—”
He just kept babbling, sobbing as everything seemed to spill out of him. Seungcheol just held him, rubbing circles into his back to soothe him. Soon enough, all the words had dried up, and Soonyoung was just left, breathing quietly as he came back down. His head felt foggier than before. Lighter, though.
“You’ll be okay,” Seungcheol promised him when Soonyoung finally moved away to wipe his face. “I’ll buy you dinner when you work next, okay?”
“I feel guilty,” Soonyoung said a moment later. With less thoughts to weigh him down, his feelings seemed to become more obvious.
Seungcheol had chuckled. “You shouldn’t. I’m offering—”
“Not that.” Soonyoung let out a long sigh, tugging his sleeves down over his hands for a moment. When did he start feeling so cold? “I… I love all of you. You’re all some of my best friends. I meant it when I said I consider you all soulmates. I feel like I should be happy that we all met in this life, but…”
“We can’t fill that void,” Seungcheol said. He turned to face Soonyoung fully, arm draped over the back of the couch. “Soonyoung. I love you, but you aren’t my soulmate. There’s things I want to do with them now that I know them that I wouldn’t want to do with anyone else. I can’t call it love because I haven’t known them long enough, but… You do understand, right?”
Of course he understood. Soonyoung had dated before, after all. “I know, but—”
“None of us want you to feel left out,” he said. “If you want to date, then you should try dating again when things have calmed down.” He paused, “Or now, but I think the stress from work is getting to you too much.” Again, Seungcheol paused, mulling over his thoughts as though he needed to get them right the first time he spoke them aloud. “Soonyoung. Do you remember what you told all of us when you said we were your soulmates?”
Soonyoung had been… a little drunk that night. Most of them were. But Soonyoung had seen the videos that were taken by his friends of his drunken rambling, and he’d said a lot. “Which part?”
“The universe picked soulmates for a lot of us,” Seungcheol said, “but we still have to choose them. And you decided you would choose us.”
It was the easiest decision Soonyoung had ever made, and one that admittedly made him and a few others cry. He’d been right, though, hadn’t he? A soulmate was a person that the universe felt was perfect for you, but plenty of soulmates didn’t last. It was almost always the people who believed that just being soulmates was enough to have a lasting relationship. Soonyoung had seen people who finally reached their breaking point and ended things, always crying later because that was their soulmate. Almost always, their stories were similar to the others: they weren’t trying. It was supposed to come naturally to them. But a soulmate wasn’t a guarantee for love. All relationships, platonic or romantic or familial, needed work put into them. That was why Soonyoung knew that a soulmate represented a choice. One that the universe made for a person, but a choice that a person had to keep choosing if they wanted to make things work. That was how love worked, after all. Soonyoung had been in love before, and he had chosen that person until they couldn’t choose each other anymore.
And he knew that it went the same for those with soulmates. Seungkwan had been with his soulmate for over a year now, and plenty of people could count the petty disagreements the two had had. They always came back together after they cooled off, talking things out like adults (sometimes with a little intervention from Chan or Vernon, but those moments were rare). Minghao and his soulmate had an actual argument not too long ago, but they’d bounced back and been stronger than before for it. Even Jeonghan, who had loved his soulmate almost his entire life, had an unfortunate spat that lasted a few days before he reached out to them and asked to reconcile. Love was a choice as much as it was a feeling. It was what brought them all back together again. A soulmate wasn’t the end-all be-all of love, but Soonyoung had realized why they all fit so well together. They all shared some sort of experience in some way, whether it be a string to connect them or losing objects. It was something to bond over, to open up the doors to choosing one another once that decision was clear.
“Someone is going to choose you some day,” Seungcheol said, completely serious. “And they’ll be lucky if you choose them, too.”
Soonyoung wiped at his eyes with his sleeve again, the fabric scratchy against his skin. Minghao would be chastising him now for it, pulling tissues out of his pocket or his bag depending on where he’d decided to keep them that day. That, too, was Minghao choosing to love his friend. “I love you,” he said softly. Thank you for choosing to be in my life. He wasn’t sure where he’d be without him.
Seungcheol chuckled, warm as ever. “I love you, too,” he said back, always as though it were the easiest thing in the world. Maybe, for Seungcheol, it was.
Tumblr media
A week later, work was a little kinder to him. His coworkers gossiped about some new hires coming into the company, and Soonyoung, truly, couldn’t care less. As long as they did their jobs and didn’t run off immediately to see the world or whatever those two were doing, he was happy. He’d given a polite nod to the new hires as they were introduced, and ignored the way the hairs on the back of his hand were standing on end. He’d charged himself with too much static upon coming in, dragging his feet as he tried to subtly push his sock back up after it had rolled down. He’d managed to discharge the static eventually, although the slight zap from the metal he touched had made him hiss in pain. It felt like a little too much, but what did he know? He had other things to worry about, like the backlog of work that still stood out to him. It’d take a few days for things to calm down for good. And, sure, the polite thing to do would be to get drinks with his coworkers… But no one was inviting anyone anywhere. Not when there was too much work during the day and everyone was exhausted by the time they all clocked out.
“So? What do you think?” One of his coworkers had whispered to another after the new hires (a pair of people around Soonyoung’s age) had left ahead of them, having packed up quickly to catch their buses home.
Soonyoung packed up a little slower. Maybe it was wrong to listen in, but…
“Hm…” The woman hummed to herself for a moment, shifting her weight from leg to leg. “I’m not sure yet. Sungyoon seems to work hard, but the other person…” She frowned, crossing her arms as she grew still. “They’re very quiet. Like…”
Soonyoung knew that she had just glanced at him. He’d always been the quiet one at work, the polite one who worked hard. That’s what you were like, from what he understood, too. You came in, you put yourself to work, and then politely excused yourself when you needed to run to get to your bus. Sungyoon had gone with you, not keeping it secret from anyone that the two of you were at least friends. Speaking of…
“Do you think they’re dating?” She whispered to the other.
Soonyoung hoped you weren’t. You were… actually kinda cute? Plus he admired your work ethic a lot, even on your first day. Maybe when things calmed down, he could ask you out to coffee or something.
“I didn’t see any marks,” the other man said, not bothering to lower his voice any further. “They could be soulmates. They clearly have a history…”
Soonyoung packed his bag and took off. He’d had enough of this. The journey home was uneventful, but Jihoon had picked up on how disgruntled Soonyoung was from the moment he walked in the door. Halfway through his vent session, Jihoon had looked at him.
“Why are you jealous? You just met them.”
Jealous? Soonyoung was not jealous of anyone. He choked on his own words, unsure of what he could say that was actually convincing. If he denied it, then Jihoon would only believe that he was bullshitting him to try and save face. Yes, you were cute in Soonyoung’s eyes, but he’d only just met you! He’d be a weirdo if he was jealous this quickly! And you wouldn’t want anything to do with him if he was weird.
“I’m not jealous,” Soonyoung said once he was sure he could say it casually. “I just find it weird that my coworkers care so much. They’re doing a good job.” He paused for a second, “both of them are! Sungyoon is very nice.”
Jihoon was not convinced. Nothing could convince him now, then. “Mhm.” He shrugged. “Nothing wrong with being a little jealous if they’re clearly close. Just don’t let it bother you.”
“I’m not!” Soonyoung felt his face heating up. He wasn’t. He wasn’t bothered in the slightest. It was more-so his coworkers being weird about it. It was weird to speculate, wasn’t it? If you had a soulmate, then good for you. If you didn’t, then…
Then maybe Soonyoung had a shot.
Tumblr media
“A soulmate?” You had looked up, the same man who’d speculated about you and Sungyoon being soulmates having shoved his nose into your business. You blinked, unsure of where this topic had even come from. “No, I don’t have one. I don’t think I do, at least. Is this a part of company business? I told H.R. after I was hired that I don’t have any signs that would prevent me from working, but I didn’t know everyone needed to know this.”
Soonyoung smiled to himself. Yeah, you tell him. It was your business anyway.
“But what about you and Sungyoon—”
“College friends.” You smiled politely. “We live close to one another, too. I’m not seeing anyone now. Is that all?”
Sungyoon sat at his desk, watching you with this amused twinkle in his eyes. Sungyoon had the same kind of admiration for you that Soonyoung had for his friends, he was positive. He watched the way his coworker slinked off after a moment, apologizing for prying into your personal life as you returned to work. Soonyoung reached down to pull something from a desk drawer, only to feel a familiar zap the moment he did. He’d winced in pain, but it did nothing to dampen his mood. When Soonyoung relayed later the information to his friends at dinner that night, Wonwoo had watched him the entire time, all too aware of how thrilled Soonyoung seemed to be about the whole ordeal.
“Why do you seem so happy?”
Was he happy? He was, kind of. Without being disrespectful, you’d rebuffed the guy and kept most of your privacy in doing so. There were no long drawn out college stories about some adventure you and Sungyoon had while in college, no emotional moments of spilling about how you resented the fact you didn’t have a soulmate. Hell, Soonyoung had no idea how you felt about it. Were you indifferent like him? Did you have a similar situation to him, too, where you had chosen your own soulmates out of your friends?
“They were being disrespected,” Soonyoung had settled on saying. “I’m glad they handled the situation well—”
“He likes them and wants to ask them out,” Jihoon said after taking a sip of his water. “So he’s glad they’re single.”
Soonyoung shoved Jihoon slightly. “That’s not it at all!”
Jun chuckled from his seat, watching the exchange. “There’s nothing wrong with liking them, you know.”
“There isn’t, but I don’t like them like that. I barely know them. We’ve barely even talked.” Soonyoung rolled his eyes. “How can I like someone I don’t know yet?”
Wonwoo shrugged. “I liked my soulmate before I really knew them. They seemed interesting.”
“That’s different!”
“Is it?” Jun shrugged. “I haven’t known my soulmate for long, but I still liked them before we started talking. They seemed nice. You can have a good opinion of someone without knowing them intimately—”
“That’s not the point,” Soonyoung said. “You’re all trying to turn this into something it’s not. I just… I dunno. When I see them, I want to know them more. It’s like they just keep pulling my attention toward them.” He paused, chopsticks in hand as he looked up. “They keep looking at me, actually. It’s kinda funny. I think they might be into me, actually.”
Suddenly, all three of his friends exchanged a look. Soonyoung furrowed his brows. “What?”
And none of them would tell him their thoughts. When he pushed further later as they were leaving the restaurant, Jihoon just waved him off.
“You’ll figure it out.”
Tumblr media
“Shit!”
Soonyoung looked up at the sound of your voice, soft enough that it didn’t catch everyone’s attention. Sungyoon withheld a chuckle as you glared at him a moment later, and Soonyoung couldn’t help but keep his eyes on the pair of you. You’d wrung out your hand, reaching for your desk drawer as you started to search through it for a highlighter. Soonyoung liked the fact that you always highlighted things in pretty colors—bright green so far, but he overheard you telling another coworker, Seungmin, that you liked to switch out colors every so often. It kept things fresh, and Soonyoung found that cute. Almost as cute as the novelty erasers that you kept on your desk to decorate it, never using them since you always used pens (save for the pencil you kept exclusively for the sticky notes you attached to your computer monitor).
“It’s not funny,” you had hissed back at him. “This place has a bad static problem… Is the air dry to you? I think dry air makes static build-up likelier.”
“It’s just you.” Sungyoon watched you curiously, glancing over to see that Soonyoung had started watching, too.
Soonyoung watched the way he slowly reached for a pad of sticky notes, jotting something out. Then he reached forward, attaching it to the top of your monitor. You swatted his hand away, eyes flickering over to see Soonyoung just as he turned his attention back to his own work. Yet the moment he was sure you were looking away, Soonyoung glanced over to see you pulling the sticky note off the monitor. How had he avoided you this long…? Something about getting too close to you made his chest all fluttery. Had he really started crushing on you so easily? Then again, you kinda did make it easy. You were cute in your own ways, and it made it hard to focus most days. Now all he could think about was what Sungyoon had written to you.
He’d stretched himself over Vernon’s couch that night, playing with a little feather toy that his soulmate’s cat (Nutmeg, apparently) seemed to love. She pounced at it again, and Soonyoung had, yet again, been rambling about his work adventures.
Vernon plucked another fry from Soonyoung’s leftovers. “Dude. Kinda sounds like there’s something there.”
“I don’t know,” Soonyoung said. “Maybe I’m being silly. I should ask them out sometime, but they’re still new. It feels weird to do it so soon.” He paused, watching as Vernon slowly began to reach for another fry. “If you’re hungry, then eat. I’m fine.”
With permission, Vernon immediately pulled over the rest of the leftover fries. “I mean it, dude. Why wait? You like them, they seem to like you, just go for it.”
… Maybe he would.
Tumblr media
But probably not today. Soonyoung had woken up late which, thankfully, wasn’t too bad considering he didn’t live too far from work. Jihoon had been in the kitchen, sliding over a plate of toast when Soonyoung booked it from the room.
“You have that meeting—”
“I know!” Soonyoung grabbed two slices. He’d shove them into his mouth on the run over. “I know—I set an alarm!”
Jihoon looked up, already annoyed, “I know. It woke me up.”
He’d make it up to him later. He yelled back a casual “love you!” to Jihoon, who only groaned in response, and booked it to the stairs. No elevator today: the complex’s elevator sucked most days, and Soonyoung always reserved it for when he was coming home rather than heading to work. He’d pulled on the wrong pair of shoes considering he had a meeting today. He needed to look nice, and he did, mostly. These were the ones that were a little too broken in, having lost traction against the office floors, and they’d lost their shine a bit. Maybe no one would notice? Hopefully no one would notice. He didn’t need anyone making a comment… or you to think less of him. Were you the kind of person who cared about that kind of thing? He hoped not. As long as you were presentable, Soonyoung wouldn’t think any differently of you.
He burst through the front doors of the building, yelling out to where you and Sungyoon had just boarded the elevators. He saw the way the two of you looked surprised, eyes wide and brows raised as Soonyoung booked it across the lobby while no one else seemed to think much of it. It was far from the first time this had happened, to be fair: it happened back when he was new, and it kept happening every so often since. Soonyoung, unfortunately for everyone else, was the kind of person who could be loud when he needed to be. Which was good for him, because Sungyoon had taken pity on him and held the elevator doors for him. Soonyoung’s hair was standing on end now. Fuck, when did the building have such a bad problem with dry air?
Shit, fuck, the floors were against him today. In the split few seconds he had, he’d tried to yell for you to move aside so he could crash against the elevator walls, yet his brain seemed to have turned to pudding. He felt this subtle pull forward, which he once thought was gravity as he nearly tripped over the elevator threshold and into you.
Only for sparks to fly. Literally fly. Sungyoon had crumpled to the floor in pain, howling about ‘what the fuck was that?!’ while Soonyoung only felt this warmth wash over him. You’d been shoved against the elevator wall and were clutching the back of your head (shit, fuck, he’d check on you once his brain caught up to him). Wait.
Wait. Sparks flew.
You…?
“Dude, what the fuck?” You’d pushed him away, hand still clutching the back of your head.
Immediately, his brain had finally started fully functioning again. “Shit!” He stepped forward, trying to get a closer look at the back of your skull. No bleeding or visible bruising, but what did he know? “Are you okay? Did you get hurt? I’m sorry, I tried to stop, but—”
“What the fuck was that?!” Sungyoon was still on the elevator floor. The doors slid shut after a moment.
Quietly, Soonyoung hit the button for the correct floor, just to get things moving. “I… I, uh…”
You stared at him, slowly connecting the dots. “Oh.”
“Did… Did it hurt you?” Soonyoung shyly asked, only to realize he’d been vague. “The sparks.”
You shook your head. “No. But—” You looked at Sungyoon. “Sungyoon, are you okay?”
“I’ll live,” he pulled himself back up. “Of course he’s your soulmate. No wonder you two wouldn’t stop staring at each other…”
Soonyoung had felt a pull toward you, but… He always thought that was infatuation fueling that feeling. There were so many things he’d already wanted to ask you, and yet it felt… weird to say them with Sungyoon there. Were you like him? Had you given up on soulmates even though you wanted one? Or did you not care that Soonyoung was your soulmate? Would you have still liked him if he wasn’t…? He felt like he would have liked you either way, but he would never know for sure now. Then again, maybe he could be okay with not having that answer. If he got to know you better, then he could be happy. Neither of you spoke for the ride up, and he could see Sungyoon debating stopping this elevator ride early to give the two of you space.
Thankfully, he didn’t. But he did book it off the elevator once the doors opened, leaving the two of you two step off together.
“So…” You were a little quieter than normal, never quite looking at Soonyoung for too long. “We’re soulmates.”
He nodded. “Is that okay?”
That earned your attention faster than anything else. “Of course that’s okay. Why wouldn’t that be okay?”
“I just thought that…” You didn’t seem happy. Then again, he barely knew you.
You shook your head. “Just because I’m used to not having a soulmate doesn’t mean I’m not happy it’s you. I already thought you were cute, so…”
Soonyoung shyly smiled at you, hand brushing against your own. It was enough to get you to stop and face him. “I know we have a meeting soon, but… There’s a little place across the street we could go for lunch. It’ll be my treat, if you want—”
“I’d love to,” you smiled. “I’ll look forward to it, soulmate.”
Soonyoung watched you walk ahead of him, smiling to yourself. Suddenly, he felt a new sense of confidence wash over him as he watched you go. He’d only known you for so long,  but something told him that choosing you was going to be the easiest decision he’d ever made.
(And when he told Jihoon that night, he’d called Jun and Wonwoo immediately to send him the money he’d just won for betting that Soonyoung would figure it out sooner rather than later.)
you have a beautiful smile - draco malfoy x fem!reader
summary: Y/N is sunlight in human form, an absolute angel to be around. she’s always available to help out and treats everyone with kindness. draco malfoy should hate her, but he finds himself feeling quite the opposite.
a/n: haven't written in a while, and this is my first draco fic, so please bear w me! lemme know what you think :) also my motivation to write draco is all bc of ms melli (@mellifluousart) who writes him wonderfully :)
Tumblr media
Draco was eleven when he first saw Y/N. He had been so stupidly excited for Hogwarts that he had crashed his cart into hers on the platform. He immediately started to apologize, but Y/N beat him to it. And when he glanced up and met her eyes for the first time, he realized he wouldn’t have been able to say anything at that moment anyway.
Five years had passed since that first meeting, and Draco was preparing for his sixth year at school. He’d never forgotten you, but there hadn’t been many opportunities to even approach you. He’d heard of you around the school, of course. How could he not have? You were beloved, by teachers and students alike. Y/N L/N, prefect, outstanding student, and an avid volunteer around the school. Little did he know, you knew him too.
Draco had built quite the reputation for himself. He was the Slytherin prince, calculating, cold, and altogether untouchable. If you asked anyone, they would tell you that the two of you were on complete opposite ends of the spectrum.
Of course, none of this mattered to Professor Slughorn. In the first potions class of the year, a mixed group of Hufflepuffs and Slytherins, he managed to seat you right next to Draco. He would be your partner for projects until the end of the year.
“So, do you speak now?” you poke with a laugh, referring to your first meeting as you sit down next to him.
“Yeah,” he responds briefly, before returning to his notes. To be honest, he didn’t trust his own voice well enough to say anything more - you still had the same effect on him more than half a decade later.
Draco did not believe in perfection. He kept trying to catch you being fake, as if your kindness and constant positivity was a facade that he might one day spot slipping. But as you continued to work hard with him on projects, joking to lighten the mood, and displaying the same amount of compassion despite his cold responses, he just couldn’t spot a single flaw. And one day, you caught him off guard.
“Godric, Professor Slughorn’s hair looks like his namesake today…” you mutter, as you copy furiously from the blackboard. You hadn’t meant for anyone to hear it, but then you caught the boy next to you let out a snort. Your eyes widened; there was no way Draco Malfoy had just laughed?
You whip your head around, and Draco averts his eyes.
“You just laughed,” you state, a smile forming on your lips. “You just laughed at my joke.”
“Did not,” the boy denies, “I was just shocked that sunshine in human form could say something like that,” then he turns away so you can’t catch the smile that threatens to appear.
Your cheeks redden, and you scoff. “It wasn’t even mean!” you protest, “I find it rather fits him.”
From that day on, the two of you developed a more natural dynamic. Your conversations were no longer one-sided, and you found yourself growing to enjoy Draco’s sarcastic sense of humour and wit. You even got to know Blaise and Pansy, who were very eager to share some of Draco’s most embarrassing moments with you. Little did you know, these two had an ulterior motive.
“So, Y/N, huh?” Pansy prompts, glancing up at Draco with an act of nonchalance.
Blaise smirks, catching the tinge of pink that appeared on his friend’s cheeks.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Pans, and she doesn’t either. You and Blaise need to shut it and stop poking your ugly heads into this.”
“Alright, alright. But just so you know, she likes you too,” Blaise replies, before striding to the staircase and heading up to his room.
Pansy nods, “She does, but I have no idea why… You’re utterly unlikeable!” she finishes with a cackle, and practically sprints to the girls dormitories, where she knows the blond boy can’t touch her.
And so, Draco was left all alone with his thoughts and a pounding heart, at 10pm in the Slytherin common room.
The upcoming week was Hogsmeade week. Draco and you had made plans to get some extra quills and ingredients you were missing for the latest potions assignment.
“So, how many first years did you scare today?” you greet him with a giggle, “Do I have any 11 year olds I need to comfort?”
Draco scowled, but his eyes crinkled, belying his happiness at seeing you. “Yeah right, it’s their own fault for standing in huge groups in the middle of the corridors. You think it’d kill them to walk on their own.”
You laugh openly, loud enough for a few scattered students to turn and look. And Draco can’t blame them, because he knows just as well how easily you catch the eye.
After making all the necessary stops, you spot an adorable new pop-up near Madam Puddifoot’s.
“Oh my GOD. A Build-A-Bear Workshop!” you squealed, and Draco makes a show of cringing and plugging in his ears.
You roll your eyes, smiling. “I haven’t made one of these in years. We absolutely HAVE to try it.”
Draco stops plugging his ears and his expression develops into one of horror. “No. No way in hell am I doing that. I have a reputation, Y/N. You are out of your min–”
You yank on his sleeve, pulling him along, not paying attention to a word of his rant.
“OW! How are you this strong, midget?! Fine!” the boy finally complies begrudgingly.
An hour later, the two of you exit the shop, you having made a bear with platinum blond fur and a slytherin uniform. Whenever you pressed its stomach, the bear would squeal out “do you know who I am?!” sending you into bouts of laughter at its resemblance to your friend.
Draco did not find this nearly as amusing as you did, but he was quite proud of his own bear. A brown one modelled after his favourite quidditch player.
“Admit it! You had lots of fun in there,” you confront, as you spot him fixing the collar of his bear’s robes.
The boy shakes his head, and immediately gives his stuffie to you, “yeah, if I were three years old… now you carry it. I can’t be seen carrying a stuffed bear.”
You roll your eyes, but gladly take the plush. It smells just like Draco.
Before you know it, February sneaks up on the Hogwarts students. You start spotting floating hearts and angels everywhere, courtesy of the professors.
However, you had yet to receive a single Valentine, which you found quite bizarre. Not that you were overly confident, but you had always received at least a few in past years. You decided not to dwell on it, however, not when the NEWTs were approaching.
Little did you know, several Valentines had been trying to make their way to you, but each had been stopped on their journey by a certain Slytherin boy. Whenever he spotted one with your name on it zipping along in the halls, he simply hexed it, and it would disintegrate. He also glared at anyone who looked at you, lower years and upper years alike. Eventually, people gave up; there was no use trying to compete with Draco Malfoy.
Then on the very last day of the week, February 14th itself, you were working on a potions project, when your partner suddenly walked in.
Draco looked nervous, almost. At least as close to nervous as you’d ever seen the Slytherin prince get… but then he pulled out a little velvet box with a satin ribbon on it, motioning for you to open it.
“Now, don’t make this weird, okay? I just saw this in the store and thought you’d like it,” he mumbles, lowering his head.
Carefully, you undid the ribbon and opened the box. Inside, there was an absolutely adorable necklace with a tiny silver bear. Your face lit up, and you hugged the tall boy. “It’s perfect,” you exclaimed.
Draco was absolutely flabbergasted, but he awkwardly returned the hug, patting your hair. “Want me to put it on?”
After he clasped the necklace, he held your shoulders and turned you around to face him. Almost unconsciously, Draco began to smile. A genuine smile that made him look like a 17-year-old boy instead of his ice-cold persona.
You marvelled at how happiness transformed your boy’s face, and you stared up at him for a long time, long enough for Draco to tilt his head in curiosity.
“Is there something on my face?” he inquires.
You shake your head. “No. No, I just… you have a beautiful smile. I think you should do that more. Smile, I mean,” you stumble over your words.
Draco chuckles, as a blush spreads over his face, painting his pale complexion. He leans in again, but instead of a hug this time, he quickly pecks your forehead. “Maybe. No promises though,” he whispers.
Hey man, congrats on 250 followers. Can you do the "sleep cute" prompt with Solomon? Love your work, keep it up. It's really your choice but could it be platonic if you do it?
Thank you so much, Anon! I was about three quarters done with this when it occurred to me that it didn't quite fit the "sleep cute" trope, but they sleep, and it's quite cute, so hopefully you don't mind.
It’s almost three o’clock in the morning when the sound of a small explosion coming from Solomon’s room sends you jumping out of bed and skidding down the hallway between his room and yours. Not bothering to knock, you throw the door open, only to find the sorcerer standing up beside his desk, blinking rapidly and looking almost as confused as you do.
“Oh! Ahaha… I’m sorry, did that wake you up?” He smiles apologetically, running a hand through his messy hair. He yawns, and you peer past him to see just what the hell could have made that sound.
On the table, you see what you once would have assumed was a chemistry set of some sort. Now, of course, you recognize that Solomon’s been brewing some potion or other. Or, he had been. One of the vials of liquid seems to have exploded. Tiny shards of glass cover the desk, and, you’re alarmed to realize, your mentor’s right hand.
“What happened?” You sound more annoyed than you intended as you step gingerly across the room. You have on socks, but that doesn’t make you feel much better knowing shards of glass are probably lying on the floor too.
“I…” He yawns again and chuckles sheepishly. “I fell asleep with one of my reagents stirring. It’s a good thing too, because if I’d been sitting up, I’d have gotten glass in my face.”
“If you had been sitting up,” you counter, “it wouldn’t have exploded.”
“Ahaha… Touché,” Solomon admits, then he holds his arm out, preventing you from stepping any closer. “Now, careful, or you’ll get cut.”
He utters a quick incantation, and the shattered glass dissolves from the desk. With that out of the way, Solomon looks grimly at the beakers that still sit intact on his desk. “I need more devilfish oil and sassafras.” He sighs. “I’m low on a few bonding agents too, so I guess it’s time I went shopping.”
“The only place it’s time for you to go is bed,” you say in a no-nonsense tone. This seems to only amuse Solomon, much to your annoyance. “I’m not joking. If you fell asleep at your desk, you clearly need the rest.”
He steps closer to you and cups your cheeks in his hands, smiling at you with an expression somewhere between ‘impish’ and ‘adoring’.
“Now, now,” he says lightly, pressing his forehead to yours. You deadpan as he strokes your cheeks with his thumbs. “That’s hardly something for an apprentice to be telling their master, isn’t it?”
“First of all, you’re my mentor, not my master.” You give a small scowl at this overstep of his and gently remove his hands from your cheeks, taking a small step back. “And second, I’m not telling you as your apprentice. I’m telling you as your friend.”
He cants his head to the side, his smile growing just a fraction of an inch. “Just as my friend?”
“Don’t push your luck, Solomon.”
“Well, pardon me. With the way you’re still holding onto my hands, you’re sending me mixed messages.”
“You’re impossible.” You drop his left hand but hold his right one up and look it over. It seems the glass that had struck him was magicked away by the same spell that took care of the rest of it, but there are still little cuts on the back of it. He could have taken care of this in an instant, you know, but he didn’t. Probably because he wants you to do it.  Muttering an incantation, you heal the cuts on his hand and let it go.
As you predicted, Solomon appears supremely pleased as he looks his hand over. “Well, look at that. All better!” He looks up at you again with smiling eyes. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. Now go to sleep.”
“Hmm…” Solomon turns around and walks back over to the desk, tapping it with his forefinger. “No, I don’t think I will.”
“Excuse me?” You fold your arms and glare at him, but he’s no longer looking at you. He’s looking over the beakers on his desk again. Or pretending to, at least. You don’t trust this little stunt of his for a second.
“I’m so busy with my research,” he explains. You don’t need to see his face to know there’s a shiteating grin on it. “I’m just not feeling very motivated to go to sleep right now.”
“You realize you’re behaving like a child, right?”
Solomon peers over his shoulder at you and shrugs, his smile never wavering, before returning his attention to his lab setup, carefully capping some vials while preparing to mix some others together. He’s such a pain in the ass sometimes.
So you approach him and hug him from behind. “Please?” Two can play the childish card. You aren’t so easy to outdo.
For just a fraction of a second, you feel Solomon tense. Then he laughs.
“How badly do you want me to sleep, exactly?”
“Soooo badly.”
He swivels around and you’re hit with something like déjà vû. He cups your cheeks with his hands and presses his forehead to yours again. Only this time, your arms are still around him. And his smile is just so… Solomon.
“Alright. If you insist. But you’re going to join me.”
You sigh. And Solomon, interpreting that as a response, drops your cheeks and takes a step back, looking a little put out, but more embarrassed. It’s surprising to actually see him like that.
“Sorry.” He’s smiling again already. “That was a little out of line, wasn’t it.” Pink still dusts his cheeks as he looks intently down at the desk, as if he’s searching for something. “But alright, you win. I’ll go to bed. Sorry again about waking you.”
“Solomon,” you reply, crossing your arms. You’re almost sighing again. Almost. “I didn’t say no.”
He perks up almost instantly.
“But don’t get any weird ideas! You said you wanted me to join you! Nobody said anything about anything else, understand?”
“Of course,” he replies with a beam. “Surely you didn’t think I had any impure intentions? Or did you maybe hope that I did…?”
You turn around to walk out of the room.
“Alright, sorry, understood! Ahaha… You’re so tricky to please sometimes!”
Solomon flops down on his bed and scoots to the far end of it, patting the spot beside him. You’re a little bit more embarrassed than you’d anticipated as he watches you climb on up after him and get under the covers. You stare at the ceiling, uncomfortable and a bit on edge, when you feel Solomon roll onto his side to face you.
“Hey.”
You turn your head to look at him. He’s awfully close, unsurprisingly. You can’t stop a nervous giggle from spilling out. He smiles softly at this and touches your cheek. “You really are the best apprentice I ever could have hoped for. Thanks for everything.”
The tension inside you seems to melt away like snow as you roll onto your side and snuggle up to the sorcerer. “You’re welcome. Now go to sleep.”
“So bossy,” he chuckles under his breath.
“Don’t act like you don’t like it.”
“I never said I didn’t.”
“Goodnight, Solomon.”
“Goodnight, my adorable apprentice.”
CONGRATS ON 5K!!!!! I wanted to request NSFW prompt 3 with person A being Trunks from DBZ and person B being the reader, thank you so much and again - congrats on 5k you deserve it more than anyone <3
warnings: smut, unprotected sex, rough sex, Trunks being horny
Tumblr media
It’s been a long time since you’ve seen him. He works hard to keep the planet safe. Trunks does all he can to make sure you’re never in any immediate danger. He fell in love with you almost immediately, and he knows he’s never going to want to lose you if he can keep you secure. When he comes home, he knows he needs intimacy to keep him sane.
What Trunks doesn’t realize is how needy he feels when he does come home…
It comes on fast, but he’s good at repressing it as much as he can. Trunks hugs you and kisses you, relishing in the way you just fit so good in his arms. With your scent being greedily inhaled by the Saiyan, you could tell that he was feeling riled up. Through heated kisses, light groping and some deep growls rumbling through Trunks, he didn’t keep his feelings completely hidden.
His large hands push you back onto the bed, and Trunks uses his brute force to rip the clothing off of you. Soft protests are hushed by a rough kiss from your Saiyan lover.
“Don’t worry about it, baby.” He tells you as he slides two of his fingers into you. This renders you almost speechless. “I’ll buy you anything you want.”
It’s not long before he towers over you as he puts you into the perfect mating position. It takes so little coaxing for him to slide into you, panting as he finally bottoms out. He grips your waist, pulling you in deeper for every harsh thrust. You’re mewling and whimpering as he takes his frustrations of being away for so long on you. The pain and pleasure mix in such a divine way, rendering you breathless. Your brain slowly turns to mush with every thrust.
“Pretty little baby’s all fucked out, huh?” He asks as he pulls out, and guides you onto your hands and knees.
He spreads your asscheeks, spitting on your already wet cunt. With one quick movement, he’s balls deep inside of you and he begins that heavy and rough pace he had earlier. You swear you can see stars dancing in your vision as your orgasm builds even more. You try to warn Trunks that you’re coming, but it all comes out in blubbering and whimpering.
“Haah~ ‘m gonna— oh shit! Oh fuck!” you cry out, your body shaking and shuddering as the first few waves of your orgasm crash over you.
Trunks smirks, but he knows he can fuck you even harder to make you even more fucked stupid. He’s a man on a mission now. He pins you to the mattress, fucking you even harder as you ride out your orgasm. Your eyes roll back and a pitiful sob comes from you.
“Feel good?” Trunks teases.
You moan out, your mouth now covered in drool as Trunks fucks you with reckless abandon. He wants you so dumb for him. It turns him on like nothing else does. And with a few more thrusts, you’re crying out and moaning his name.
Trunks slaps your ass, “That’s it, honey. Keep telling me how good it feels.”
You whine at the pain mixing with the pleasure once more, and a string of curses fall from your lips as Trunks tugs on your hair, making you clamp down on him even tighter.
“What was that? Speak up, baby.”
You swallow hard and lick your lips, “Oh fuck…oh shit! Hnnng baby, ‘m so—fuck! Fuck fuck fuck!”
Another smirk spreads on his face. You’re now well on your way to be fucked stupid. That was his goal and he would meet it. He was always so determined, after all…
Red Hair or Red Nose? - Part 2
Thank you all for asking for part 2 and the ongoing support. This is so much fun to write, so I hope you have the same fun while reading. <3
Tumblr media
The two of them, occupied by their fight, had not realized you were behind them and you just kept watching this scene unfolding in front of you.
“Next time you play a prank like this on me I will kill you, Shanks. Damn you!" In a fit of anger, Buggy had torn his body into disconnected parts, an act of frustration that momentarily disrupted the scene. However, with a collected demeanor, he swiftly reconnected his disassembled body and resumed his composure. "You can consider yourself lucky tonight. I am in a good mood and just decided to enter this pub to get some drinks. And since I arrived first on this island and in this town I have priority in buying their stock of whiskey and rum…!”
“What about we enter this place at the same time and have a drink together just like the good old times?”
“A drink with you?” Buggy exclaimed, “I'd rather never drink again than with someone like you, you damned monkey!”
As Shanks took a step forward towards the pub, his gaze fell upon you. A subtle shift in his expression betrayed a momentary surprise, but whether he recognized you or was simply taken aback by your presence remained unclear. He chuckled lightly, his voice tinged with amusement. "Seems you were so noisy, Buggy, you attracted an audience from inside the pub."
Buggy, prompted by Shanks' comment, turned to look at you as well, his face and eyes unaffected, indicating that he likely had no recollection of who you were. He immediately changed to his usual flashy, entertaining self.
“Oh hello there!” Buggy said with a sly grin, “I see you've brought a lovely companion tonight, Shanks. But she's far too exquisite for a pirate like you!”
You gasped - what were they talking about?
Shanks, however, swiftly corrected the assumption. His gaze fixed directly upon you, he smiled and addressed you, "Unfortunately, I did not bring this lovely lady with me."
"I came here because you two disturbed my calm and peaceful evening!" you finally found your voice, the words escaping your lips with a mix of frustration and determination. In that instant, you noticed a flicker of recognition in Shanks' eyes. Perhaps it was your voice, your manner of speaking, or a combination of both, but it seemed that he had finally realized who you truly were.
"Apologies for the disturbance my dear friend Buggy has caused!" Shanks interjects, causing Buggy to shake his head in surprise at the unexpected term of "friendship". "I assume you're familiar with the pub's menu, so perhaps you could recommend a drink for us? And as a gesture of peace, allow us to buy you one as well."
Shanks takes a step closer to you, his towering figure now more imposing than ever. His broad shoulders and the three scars adorning his left eye serve as a testament to the challenges he must have  faced. Despite his daunting presence, you don't feel small or intimidated, but rather protected and safe. The calm aura that surrounds him soothes your senses, and his captivating smile leaves you feeling somewhat weak in the knees.
"I wouldn't mind another drink..." you murmur, unable to maintain eye contact with Shanks, feeling a mix of anticipation and nervousness within you.
Shanks extends a welcoming gesture, calling out to Buggy. "Come on, Buggy. Just like the good old times, as friends!" His words hold a subtle excitement, and a knowing smile graces his face. In that moment, you realize that Shanks has indeed recognized you and is glad to see you. However, it dawns on you that Buggy remains oblivious to your true identity, adding an extra layer of amusement for Shanks. You both suddenly smile at each other.
With a mixture of anticipation and curiosity, you join Shanks and Buggy, ready to embrace the reunion...
To be continued.
prompt: you go on a date and it goes horrible and Spence in a rare fit of anger goes all “when will you realize I’m right here and in love with you” and you go all 🧍🏻‍♀️ “im dating because I thought you didn’t like me like that”
grecy i love u im getting intense you belong with me vibes so that's why it's.... spencer reid x neighbor fem reader also sorry it took forever sorry !
It happens so frequently that Spencer started to just stock up on strawberry ice cream and salt and vinegar potato chips just in case. It was against his better interest to learn their names, but it was Spencer's mind against his heart. And it looked like his mind was winning despite the good fight his heart put up.
"Hey," you say, your mood completely different from when Spencer saw you leave your apartment 45 minutes later, "He stood me up. Well not entirely, he was 25 minutes late and then had the audacity to show up drunk and trying to convince me to go bang at his place?"
"Ugh," Spencer groans, stepping aside to let you in. "There's snacks in the kitchen and you can pick the movie."
"Thanks, Spencer." You shout as you slip by him and head to the bathroom, "I have to get out of this dress. I can't believe I wasted something like this on that ass."
"Well you look beautiful, for what it's worth. You are beautiful." Spencer says, stopping before he ends up saying something he means, but isn't ready to share.
"Spence, please." You said, the flippant nature of her words stinging Spencer directly in his heart. "Don't say stuff you don't mean. It's not fair. It's cruel. It's cruel to me."
"Cruel? Y/N..." Spencer said, the blood whirring in his ears. "Y/N, you don't know?" He asked. "These men that you see, they don't deserve you. They don't deserve someone like you. Someone so beautiful and kind. And funny and smart and patient-"
"Stop it! Spencer. Please, stop it. You're being mean."
"You have no idea." Spencer muttered. "None. Huh," he chuckled, his eyes practically burning holes in your soul. "None." He said again, disbelief clouding his face.
"What? That I'm stupid. That I let someone string me along for the possibility of something more. That I still dream of some loving me for me? That the only thing that I want in this world is to be loved and desired and wanted."
Spencer spun around, his hands gripping his hair as he finally felt the cap burst off the bottle.
"When will you realize that I am right here and I'm in love with you. Hopelessly. Entirely. Wholly in love with you, Y/N." Spencer confessed. His eyes stinging with tears and his cheeks burning with potent dose of anger and resentment and, of course, love.
"What?" You chuckled, her mouth opened wide as Spencer's words dumbfound her into a fit of giggles. "I would think you're a lot of things, Spence. Funny. Witty. But mean isn't one of them. It wasn't something I'd ever use to describe-"
"I'm being serious, Y/N. I've loved you for a while now. It just...it just slowly crept up on me and one day I just realized that-that it would be the greatest privilege of my life to make you happy every second of your life. I want your life to be my life. I want it all with you, Y/N. And you know maybe one day our love is so full, so big that you can't contain it that it spills into something else, someone else."
"Like babies?" You said, sitting on the couch as she took it all in. "With me? You want that? You want that, too?"
Spencer rushed to his knees, his hands finding Y/N's hands. They clung to each other, blood pumping with excitement and possibly. He kissed her knuckles as a grin spread across his face.
"I've never been this happy to be this clueless," Spencer whispered, his eyes glistening up at you. "I mean...I honestly...I can't believe it."
"Can I try to convince you?" You asked, bringing her hands to Spencer's hair. You twisted you fingers into his brown curls, tugging him up so your lips could finally touch. The warning signs were all there. You asked him if you could convince him, you brought your fingers to his jawline, you rested your forehead against his forehead and just kissed him.
It was like Spencer was frozen with disbelief. Your hands sprawled on the back of his head, tugging him closer to you as his mind worked over and over what was happening. He tasted the softness of your lips against his mouth and there wasn't a single thought bouncing around his brain.
And then he thawed. He kissed you back. And then you kissed him. He kissed you. And you kissed him. Again. And again. And again.
Marchil crumbs part 7
Part 1 - Part 2 - part 3 - part 4 - part 5 - part 6
They made bonus illustrations for the Blu-ray. Idk what to make of this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kui don’t do this to me…….. The placement <3
1) Trigger please elaborate. Speak on that. Huh. In the other Bluray illustrations with duos the characters aren’t blushing like this…?? This sure is a choice. Very normal. No tension in the air.
2) Those were assorted fullbodies she did for advertisements for a Dunmeshi cafe event in Shibuya, that she then put in the Complete Adventurer’s Bible… They line up so well that it looks like they’re interacting together it’s so cute.
Chilchuck having torrid tension with Marcille’s crepe Do you think Chilchuck was in Marcille’s shot behind/besides her food… Is he looking at her like that because he’s being sassy about having to wait on her, or is he using his watch as an excuse to steal glances at her… Did Marcille call out to him to be like "hey get in the shot!!" and get pics of their coffeeshop date out in town…
Cooking soap together for the fate of Senshi’s beard
Tumblr media
I could have SWORN I’ve talked about this page below in the crumbs post before but apparently not. Ok so first of all this is peak them strategizing together. They seek each other out to plan out their next move- And this is soon after she did ancient magic! It’s after Chilchuck’s most important character moment, where he admits that he cares about the party and things aren’t purely professional, so that helps him move on from keeping her at arm’s length due to the very illegal scary thing she did I think, but besides that! This still shows a very strong bond of trust and respect between the two, that he values her input even still. Also supported in this chapter by how he felt the need to keep tabs on Laios and Senshi to not get them all killed but Marcille letting it slip about what she did or anything didn’t even enter his mind as I went over in part 2.
Okok but more in depth… I’m spoiling a future analysis of mine with this too but remember this panel? And who might be the personalization itself of projecting gentlemanly, heroic good will while having hidden/manipulative intentions? I’ve never known what to make of Kabru smiling at her and more importantly her blushing at him here… Until I realized that he really fits her ideal type from what we can extrapolate: He looks rather feminine and is seemingly very gallant/gentlemanly, very charismatic, and was raised by elves so has a grasp on etiquette. And yet, she only gives his smile a passing glance before going back to strategizing with Chilchuck— Because unlike what her reputation as someone frivolous who idealizes and romanticizes anything like in her storybooks, she can put rationality above aesthetics. Because she values Chilchuck and his input much more than she ever would a pretty face alone, the aesthetic of a prince charming. Because she knows he was right, at least partly, and knows where her actual allies lie. She doesn’t waver, and she chooses Chilchuck. A part of her arc is to judge by acts more than looks, and this is very much a part of it I think, Chilchuck cares and wants to help much more than someone who might look kinder or more welcoming.
Tumblr media
Ehem sorry for going off Now that I reread the full scene this might be one of my fave marchil moments as weird as that might be… Chilchuck seeing her hesitance and explaining to her what’s going on without being prompted, sticking together out of everyone on the battlefield, them so easily slipping into strategizing with each other without the rest of the group. I never noticed the whole comedy of corpses falling around them and them keeping talking together lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok so merch wise they’re making hair clips! And there are 4 sets of two, it’s always Marcille with a different hairstyle and a different party member (for one of the four sets the other is a walking mushroom). Here’s the Marcille & Chil one! You can now have them in your hair yippee
Tumblr media
I never put this one in a crumbs part but it’s funny so might as well, for as much as they care for each other and Marcille’s been shown to be very worried for & careful with Chilchuck the dainty rogue™️ the second he becomes a tallman without his cute face suddenly it’s FREE GAME. Their bestieship is so strong for them to be able to brush this incident right off and strategize like they’re close knit so soon after this lol.
Tumblr media
Love a duo that will just trip onto their face in the same page. Cringefail.
Matching frog skin fits yayyyy!! <3 (Also stop making him look at her in ads I’ll die)
Tumblr media
STOP ITTTTT
Tumblr media
I had always assumed in the ‘feeding liver to Marcille’ part that Laios was always the one feeding her because the hands and speech bubbles aren’t clear in the manga scene, but the anime makes it clear that everyone does it after the other. So here’s Chil’s turn. Asking after if she liked it and encouraging to eat more is cute too. There’s also obviously how panicked he is to see her in danger earlier in the ep, but idk if I already showed that manga panel in an earlier comp
Tumblr media
And woohoo the anime made this interaction between them even more sus!! Why. Why are you looking at each other like that. Stop people could misunderstand
Tumblr media
Protecting her from the monster food
Tumblr media
Thank you for the food episode 10. Made me notice a healing/caing moment I’d never paid attention to before!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Huh your hands seem okay" ARE YOU SURE… They’re so cute when they team up together oml, hassling Senshi instead of each other lmaoo. Love how they made her look at him all happy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wish I could put the screenshots for the whole sequence here but. How to hook and reel in your Chilchuck.
Tumblr media
In chapter 97 cover they took the seats facing each other this time again <3 Like in the golden kingdom. It’s a recurring thing. Seemingly he’s looking at Falin so involved in the same conversation at her? :> Oh it’d be cute if he was the one who made her laugh sob, he looks like he just cracked a wise joke.
Tumblr media
Today’s healing touch
Tumblr media
Dude you are going to die let her go
Tumblr media
They changed the gesture Marcille did to chide Chil here, instead of having her hand on his shoulder and tapping his head she gives him an elbow nudge. Idm the change this is so cute too. Also Chil extending her his sympathies
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not a crumb tbh but the way this was his POV during the Marcille vs Thistle fight is hilarious to me. No wonder he thought she was bonkers
Tumblr media
Not the way these quote keychains are set up… Every protagonist has their own EXCEPT Chil’s who includes Marcille, and it’s one of my fav marchil moments I looove being validated that this scene is important
Tumblr media
And to finish it up, the manga scene of this exchange in the anime that really stole my heart. They’re so fond of each other aw. Teasing on the job is free, her expression here is so cute, rare reversal of their roles in the dynamic
Tumblr media
More crumbs soon! Not many in here yet (edit: at the time of first posting) but I was dying to post it with the modern cutouts art (I have so much fanart planned based on it hehe) but then the bluray illustration came out and fucking one hit KOd me. I am not that strong. I am only human.
Tumblr media
They didn’t blush here in the manga guysss
hii this is like my first time here requesting,,
aaaaa your writing is so cool i love it smm,,
prompt 13 angst, for fyodor?
i think it fits him really well,, and i haven't read angst for so long...
"Maybe...maybe in another life, another time"
Prompt 13
Sypnosis: Your like an angel incarnate to him but even so, you`re a pawn to the outside and will be.
Fyodor x reader
Genre: angst
Warnings: lots of sad stuff :(, no comfort
A/N: Aaaah finally first time writing for Fyodor! I hope you enjoy this anonie!! because its full of angst. YUMMY ANGST.
Etheral- Txmy ♥︎ ⇄ ◁◁ 𝚰𝚰 ▷▷ ↻ ⁰⁰'²⁵ ━━●━━───── ⁰²'⁰⁸
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
No matter how strong a pawn is,,, a pawn is a pawn for bigger plans then why does he feel like this? He wonders.
You had joined the decay of angels out of desperation. Nothing in your life was not really interesting anyways.
After Fyodor found out about your mere existence he was intrigued.
A human being this beautiful having such a dead and poor soul? What a wonderful day to be a saviour! He convinced himself that its just mere interest. At that time.
You were also pique by this mans goals and likings if anything you realized that he and you had alot in common.
He did not let his other subcordinates listen to his cello playing but he did to you, and only you. He did not lay his head on his other subcordinates but he layed on yours, He did not share his past experiences with his other subcordinates but he shared them to you, Only to you and no one else....Perhaps it was just an illusion to weaken his strength.
Fyodor saw all of the population as mere foolish human beings nothing else but you were an exception to his complex qualifiction
You liked his hair which reminded you of the feathers of a raven, sleek and violaceus, his bright eyes like comparable to a pair of plums, fresh from heaven.
Sure, he wasnt the best in person but you admired him, quite alot but somehow you felt sympathy for him. Everyone else would look at his direction and cover away, scared and terrified but somehow because of your naivety you felt something for him. You cant tell whether its from your heart or mind but something similar to pity. But now things are different...why do you still have that aching feeling in your chest?
"Fyodor, Fyodor dont cry" drip drip...
You are a mere pawn, nothing else but was that true?
The terrace you stood on had white lilies here and there looking as pretty as a ocean of pearls.
There was barely a trace of emotion in your face as you kept staring at the sun almost setting so the night scenery can introduce itself. Too bad you wont be able to see tonight.
Quiet footsteps could be heard, quiet like a mouse towards your figure. You realised it was fyodor, ah yes the same smell of lilac and evil.
"Are you ready, dusha moya?" the voice asks, tone as careful and delicate as glass. Like the glass covering the greenhouse from above.
"This garden is quiet the exiquitive one with its prickly rose vines sheltering the top." Fyodor states to calm down the atmosphere in this plot of flowers. "I wonder if they ever get tired of protecting the glass garden" you spit out, with no expression in your voice and your back turned against fyodor who only walked loser to you.
Your head turned around with a blank expression on your face.
"Strange girl....."
"Well, zayka its time to bid farewell even the sun is setting a goodbye" Fyodor finally revealed the words out with a smile in his face, the smile you will never be able to see again.
You picked up a white lily in your warm hands and gracefully slid it behind your hair tucking a strand of hair and finally turned around to face him, this time with a smile on your face which makes the mans eyes widen for a second.
"You're right, Lets go." you calmly voice out with a somewhat soft expression on your face as you walk towards him on the clean grass.
At that time you couldnt make out fyodors expression, whether he was sad or happy or just emotionless.
He reaches out to you with his hand asking you to put yours over his.
"It was nice knowing you, Fyodor. It really was but i guess this is our goodbye. But you know... Even though i shouldnt say this since i am but a sinner i really love you, I really do."
Your pretty lips mouth out these shattering words to him though i doubt he would feel anything anyways either way he wont be able to feel the warmth of your hands ever again nor the care of your words asking him if slept or eaten anything.
As Fyodors ability activates the life in your eyes slowly wilt away like a lily symbolizing peace.
"Maybe,,,maybe in another life, another time"
It was almost time that you died and met your punishment so with every emotion and strength you have you said out your last words as your head gently falls to his side with your lashes flattered close.
Fyodor did not smile at that.
He simple carried your corpse in bridal style with your white sleeved arms dangling down and gently placed your body on a huge pile of white lilies.
The view was beautiful indeed with the lilies hiding aspects of your now run cold body making you look etheral finally at peace.
"Fear not myshka, i will soon join you in hell too." with that the terrace was locked. Locked from dangers, threats and any bad omen.
"Farewell, Fyodor I hope you enjoyed the part you played these past 3 years"
Tumblr media
A/N Fun Fact Fiction time!: The rose vines sheltering the glass of the green house in a symbolization to fyodors heart. The white lilies symbolize grief so he locks away any trace of emotion. By this reader puts one of the lily in their hair and asks metaphorically if fyodor ever get tired of protecting his emotions in order to achieve his goal! Also reader worked with fyodor for 3 years and an average white lily lives up to 3-5 years :)
Love takes two -Part 1
Emmett x reader (AQP2) Cillian Murphy
Request (s) by anon prompt request
Finally I was able to finish this request (it’s a combination of two different requests I got from lovely anons ♥️ I’m sorry it took me so long!)
And also my little celebration for @cillmequick birthday (I remember it was in July) and for your 6 month tumblr anniversary -that’s probably a year now..) dear Alex thank you for being a lovely human being and all the Cillian smutty stories you share, I’m a bit behind in my reading but slowly catching up 🥰✨ xxx
Summary: Emmett gets protective around you, even in the smallest things. But after a night around a bonfire with friends he’s forced to be honest about his feelings. Just like you.
Tumblr media
A knock on the door startled him at first, but then he realized there was only one person in the entire island who would stop by to see him.
“I’m not here.” He answered and chuckled at his own joke, then he saw your head poking with the signature smile and wild hair by the door.
“Okay, I’m looking for Mr. Hologram.” You smiled widely.
“What did you do this time, Y/N?” He finally dragged his gaze from his work to your face and like every single time he did that, you feel like you were kicked by a horse in the stomach.
“Me? Nothing.” You stated innocently, he should be used by now to help you with almost everything; opening a bottle of something, surviving… “We’re having a little bonfire, I was wondering if you want to come?”
“We?”
“Just a couple of friends.”
There was a small disapproval groan, but you knew him so well, so you rushed to try to convince him.
“Please, just for a little while… you don’t have to chat with them.” He was an introvert or not very fond of everyone, Emmett was always by himself… and with you most of the time because you didn’t really give him much choice. “Emmett?”
Batting your lashes and you knew that would do the trick.
“Don’t say that, they’re nice people.”
“Hmm.” He raised his eyebrows. “Just because you still have hope in humans, it doesn’t mean they’re.”
“Emmett! They’re.” You insisted. Partly because you believe, partly because you loved saying the opposite than him. “I made dinner.” You bit your lip.
He was cleaning his hands with a cloth, so he flipped his head in an attempt to move his fringe away, but to you it was the sexiest thing he could do.
“Fine you win, I just need to take a shower first.”
You made a victory little dance and told him you’d be waiting for him.
“Don’t make the same mistake I did, Emmett.” Daniel “the coach” advised stepping into the room. “You don’t want to grow old and lonely like me, trust me.”
Emmett gave him a long look. He knew his story, Coach had loved a woman when he was young but he didn’t have anything to offer to her so he stepped back, later in life he got an opportunity into coaching professional football, when he went back to her because he was financially stable he found out she had married someone else. After waiting for him for years to ask her out she decided to move on because she never knew he was in love with her.
“I don’t understand your point.” Emmett tried to play the fool.
“You like her.” Coach stated firmly.
Emmett pretended to clean the tools he had been using. “Everybody likes her.”
“She’s a great girl, what are you waiting for?”
“I think someone younger would be better fit for her.”
“Is that your best excuse?” Coach shook his head in disapproval. “Get rid of the beard, that’s the best way to look younger.”
Emmett saw him disappear outside with the handsaw, leaving him alone with only the feelings he had been secretly developing for you along with that noisy whisper in the back of his mind tormenting him over and over, repeating there was no way you could like him back.
Right?
“Given the fact that we don’t have a lot of things, this looks lovely.” Alex admitted taking a step back to admire the work the two of you made.
Tumblr media
“Thank you for helping me.”
“Wait a second, there’s one extra place.” She eyed you suspiciously.
“That’s for Emmett.”
“Why it doesn’t surprise me?” She sighed loudly.
Trying to distract yourself with the candles. “What do you mean?”
“Oh, nothing.”
Alex crossed her arms, but decided to not press the topic anymore. If you didn’t feel like talking yet, she’d give you space.
For now.
You felt cornered, it was hard to keep something from her but luckily Emmett appeared in your eyesight and you waved at him, giving Alex a sign to keep it to herself. Shaking her head, she walked away to bring out the plates.
“You came!” The smile on your face couldn’t get any bigger.
“Of course, you invited me.” He chuckled.
“Never seen this before.” You pointed it at his shirt, a deep emerald that lighted his eyes even more beautifully than they already were.
He blushed slightly and a nervous laugh escaped his lips, he chose it because it was the only decent and dressy shirt he had for an occasion like that, the rest were dirty or stained.
“Hey! Can I’ve some help?” Alex asked from the house. “Don’t stay there!” She called over the two of you again.
“Better go, before the creatures hear her.” Emmett swore he said it to himself but you were close enough to listen. It was hard to hold your laugh, after the invasion you barely laughed afraid you wouldn’t be able to control the volume and attract them, but not this time.
“What’s so funny?” Alex demanded to know, looking between the two of you.
“Emmett just told me a joke.” You lied wiping the tears away.
As Emmett emerged with his arms full of boxes with drinks, you decided to busy yourself by offering him some help. Oblivious that Alex was keeping an eye on the two of you.
People started to show up, someone brought his guitar, while another person was offering everybody homemade sweets. Dinner was amazing and having the chance to celebrate with the most important people was something you felt extremely grateful for, even if your birthday had already passed. Between laughs and an endless chat, you were now enjoying a piece of a homemade cake, it was like tasting a piece of heaven in your mouth.
The group had been sharing memories before the invasion, it was great to hear he most memorable birthday celebration from each other.
“Bet you’re eager to share yours.” You teased Emmett who was sitting on your left.
“Absolutely.” He replied raising his eyebrows. “Thrilled actually.”
That was one of the things you liked about him the most, he was always able to catch your hint of sarcasm and replied back the same, it was like your little private joke.
“Oh damn it!” Alex mumbled. “Y/N, can you pass me the fork? It’s next to your feet.” She pointed out from her seat on the picnic bench in front of you.
As you were still laughing from what Emmett said, you started to bend down to pick it up, her eyes on you as you moved. But to her surprise, Emmett’s hand was moving at speed to cover the corner of the table, so you wouldn’t hurt yourself.
“Thank you.” You smiled shyly at him.
For him it was the most natural thing to do, but to her, it was all she needed to confirm the thoughts that had been running in her mind.
She thanked you after taking her fork. “Should we go and play some music?”
As the group moved towards the bonfire, you looked at Emmett.
“You should join them.” He encouraged, stealing glances at the group.
“Can’t leave you alone to clean up, can I?”
“Y/N it’s fine, really.”
Biting your lip you stared at him. Feeling like sometimes he was pushing you away.
“The night is young, go.” He repeated just as Alex was coming to get you.
“Come on let’s dance!”
You nodded and followed her, feeling a bit off about Emmett. Perhaps you were too pushy with him, trying to be friendly or make him feel part of the group. But as the cheering started for your arrival, it lifted you up and you decided to have a good time, kicking the sand, clapping and doing your best effort to sing along.
Emmett’s eyes landed on you from afar, you were dancing and singing with the small group.
Your cheerful spirit attracted lots of attention, it was inevitable, your carefree attitude, signature happy character and that smile that seemed to be tattooed on your face made you be surrounded by people all the time.
It was one of the things he admired about you the most, despite everything, the things you’ve been through after the invasion, losing your loved ones, that didn’t turn you into a resentful person. All the opposite, it made your heart kinder, softer.
Constantly he asked himself why you cared so much about people who probably wasn’t even worth it. But deep down he knew… because you still believed in good people, you still trusted them.
Wild hair bouncing in different direction made him go back to reality, your cheerful sweet voice made him snap out as you shouted his name while waving at him.
“What are you doing all by yourself?” You asked sitting next to him over the old tree trunk. “You should come.”
“Trying to avoid your disastrous performance.” Emmett teased, ending his words with a chuckle.
“Ugh that rum gets into my brain faster,” you groaned.
“If that’s your excuse…”
“So what’s yours? To be on your own when it’s a beautiful night like this one.”
Sometimes he still wonder how a chatterer like you could’ve made your way through his skin to take a place within his broken heart and leave a permanent mark. Over the weeks since the two of you met, it was as if you opened up his dark and lonely heart, took a chair and declared you would stay there until you made him smile and help him enjoy life again.
“How is it possible that you’re always happy and enthusiastic in a shitty world like this?” Emmett asked after a few moments.
And regretted it immediately, realizing how bitter he sounded.
“Sorry about that, it didn’t come out right.” Worry danced through his eyes, you noticed right before he looked down.
“So what am I supposed to do? Cross my arms and put on an angry face to push everyone away?”
“I don’t have an angry face.” He tried to defend himself.
“Absolutely not, you’re the most friendly human being around,” you nodded making a funny face. “It seems that you already forgot how we met.”
Flashback
Focusing on his surroundings, he was now used to the loud thoughts in the back of his mind, talking to himself most of the time for survival purposes.
He was walking midway across the bridge when he heard a small noise behind his back. He was quick to take his weapon from his shoulder and turn around pointing it in every direction in an attempt to protect himself.
But his heartbeat stopped as he saw the female figure before him.
“You shouldn’t sneak around like that, you know?” He whispered.
“Are you always that friendly?” You asked with a hint of sarcasm.
“I’m not here to make friends.”
“Fabulous, me neither… let’s be not-friends.” You extended your hand at him. “Y/N.”
Emmett placed his weapon back on his shoulder, and fixed his eyes on you with a defeated sigh.
“Emmett. What are you doing here?”
“Oh you know, just needed some air and a suntan.” You shuddered. “I’m looking for food.”
He wanted to laugh, for the first time in months, he felt something. And in that very moment he realized that you were one of the very few people around worth saving.
“Do you trust a stranger like that all the time? This is a dangerous place right now.”
“Again with the pessimism, Em?” You shuddered. “You don’t look like the kind of people who goes around with bad intentions. I saw you back there, when you had the chance to steal, you didn’t.”
His chest raised from the long breath he took. One more look at you and another one towards the long road ahead.
“Come on, I know a place safe.” He covered his nose and mouth with the old piece of shirt.
End of flashback
“I knew you were a good person right away.” You mumbled letting your eyes swim in the depth of his eyes. “And look at you, that day you found the best damn thing that’s happened to you after the invasion.”
That made him chuckle, just like every single thing you did and said.
“There’s no point to fight that.”
Your heart was doing a strange thing; drumming like it was in a rush to come out of your chest and skipping beats from time to time, specially when his clear eyes were looking intensely at you.
“I’ve something for you.” He announced looking at the ground one of his hands started fishing inside the shirt pocket. “Happy birthday, Y/N I made you this.”
As you were about to ask how could he remember it was your birthday, he showed you a small square of fabric covering a pendant in the form of a flower made of wood. “Emmett it’s beautiful!”
It was something delicate and simple, but to you it meant everything that he made it from scratch.
Tumblr media
Without even thinking about it, you threw yourself into his arms. This was the first and only gift you’ve received, as his hands came to rest to your back and his masculine scent intoxicated your senses, you suddenly realized of your impulsive actions and how much he protected his personal space. So you broke the embrace.
“Sorry, I got over excited… thank you so much!”
His eyes were fixed on you as you put it on.
“It’s just something small.” He tried to explain.
“You’re really talented.”
Clicking his tongue he felt the urge to hide his hands.
“Emmett you need to learn to accept compliments, look at the table,” you pointed at the object next to you, “this is a gift, you create beautiful pieces.”
“Well thank you.”
You loved the shy look he gave you.
Nervously you placed your hair behind your ears. “No, thank you.”
“Y/N…”
Staring at his profile, you noticed the freckles kissing his face, neck and the part of his chest that was visible, the moonlight spread shadows beautifully in certain parts of his features, and you couldn’t help but wonder how would his beard feel against your skin.
There was no use in trying to deny it any longer, you had to be honest with yourself… you were in love with this man, and maybe as an introvert he needed a little push. Perhaps if you open up to him, he would do the same.
“Yes?”
Taking a deep breath, you decided you’d take the lead, after the invasion changed everything you decided you wouldn’t miss the chance. What if taking the risk was worth it?
He gave you one more look and you waited patiently.
As Emmett felt you turning your body towards him and the peonies scent of your skin hit him, he looked at your beautiful and delicate features in the dim light.
You were young, beautiful and funny, a walking sunshine. How could he even think of standing a chance to be with a goddess like you?
Fixing his eyes on his hands, he stood up.
“Nothing I just hope you have a blast, goodnight.”
And he left without another word or even a look. Confusion took over you, in equal amount as disappointment. You regretted deeply everything in that very moment. How did you come to think he’d look at you differently? To him you were nothing but a friend, someone who was always joking.
“You’re supposed to be having fun.” Your friend stated, taking the seat next to you.
“I am, Alex.”
“Really? Then you need to say it to your face.” And she pulled you up, towards the bonfire.
****
“You are what?” Alex asked with a shocked expression as she was watching you getting ready.
“Going out with Mark.” You repeated putting on the sandals.
“I didn’t know you guys were seeing each other.” She was majorly confused.
Turning your head to her, you nodded. “He asked me after the bonfire.”
“And… you like him?”
Sighing you paced the room. “Alex what’s with all the questionnaire? I thought you wanted me to have someone.”
Leaning back, she started playing with her sandal, balancing it in her toe. “I thought you liked Emmett.”
From side to side, you saw her sandal move like a pendulum. “What makes you say that?”
“Oh, you wanna play like that? Fine… stealing glances at him all the time, joining him for his daily walks when he clearly wants to be alone, going to his place with the most ridiculous excuses just to be close, him acting all protective around you…”
“We’re… friends.” You stammered looking away, feeling caught by your best friend. “Can you stop that please?” You were altered.
“Jesus.” She noticed you were in a mood. “He’s grumpy and bearish. You’ve nothing in common how can you say he’s your friend?” She needed to push your buttons.
“That’s a wrong impression most of the people here have.” You defended him. “He’s kind and funny.”
“And?”
You wanted to say that he was smart and well educated and a great cook, but that would only make her suspicious grow.
“I’ve known you since we were in the wombs of our mothers, Y/N. You can’t lie to me.”
There was a long silence, and it was endless.
“I’m in love with him, okay? I don’t know how, but it happened. I love spending time with him, he makes me feel safe, like I can be myself. He makes me love the person I am when we’re together… but it doesn’t matter because he doesn’t like me back, to him I’m just his friend.”
Pouring your soul and feelings to your best friend didn’t change anything, but it made you feel lighter, just as Alex was about to say that she knew there was something between the two of you by Emmett’s protectiveness, Mark arrived.
“I better go.”
“If you’ve feelings for Emmett, this date is useless you know that, right?” She had never seeing you like this before.
“Everything is useless to be honest, but it’s either this date or yelling so a creature would come at me.”
“As dramatic as always.”She rolled her eyes right before watching you and Mark disappear.
It had only been ten minutes when there was a knock, Alex thought you forgot something so she opened the door to scold you, but instead she found the last person she had in mind.
“Emmett?”
“Hey, it’s Y/N here?”
For an instant, Alex felt sorry for him. “She’s out tonight… Mark asked her on a date.”
His jaw clenched, hands curled in tight fits just as an avalanche of emotions flashed in his blue eyes.
Hi love! 🧡 Could i ask for some Choso with the prompt "finally kissing, after a long time of pining" pretty please? I struggled between a few choices but I'm always a sucker for some mutual pining
₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ minors / ageless blogs / blank blogs dni
⥽ notes: tension; yearning/needy choso; virgin!choso; established friendship; suggestive
the bed feels smaller with choso settling in, his well built frame easily taking up most of the space. you nervously snuggle underneath the cover, mindlessly smoothing out the sheet in front of you and keeping your eyes fixed on the ceiling to avoid gazing at your crush.
half-human, half curse; but wholeheartedly the most beautiful soul you've ever laid your eyes on.
it's the third night, your last one together, and with the mission coming to an end you'll be back home before you know it. however, it still doesn’t erase the tension that’s been simmering over the past forty eight hours, and when you accidentally brush your bare shoulder against choso’s, you feel it all spark once again.
"sorry," he states apologetically and making the heat rise up your neck, "I can sleep on the couch if it's better for you..."
"don't be ridiculous," you scold playfully despite your voice wavering, "I can barely fit on that thing, much less force you to sleep on it."
"I don't want you to feel uncomfortable."
his gentle tone grabs your attention and forces you to turn to him. his face is partially illuminated by warm light, a noticeable blush highlighting his cheeks which is framed by his black hair that falls freely down his neck.
your eyes dip to his exposed shoulders and upper chest, lingering on the prominent muscles. "I'm fine, I promise," you reply a little breathless and squeeze your thighs together.
he’s suggesting the alternative now,because the first night was spent with the two of you in this very same position, only choso was asking a lot of questions…
questions regarding human intimacies; about their needs, their lust, their hunger...
you can't help but be empathetic about his curiosity. after all, his mind is governed by two completely polarizing forces.
the conversation was innocent at first, but he made a bold declaration that sent shivers all over your body.
"I feel an ache whenever I'm around you," he confessed, "I can't explain it,"
"It's natural," you attempted to explain, keeping a neutral tone while brushing aside the way your cheeks stung. "sometimes I feel it too..."
"why does it happen?"
you can only shrug your shoulders, unable to fully define the laws of attraction to the man you longed for the most. he left you speechless with his admittance of yearning for you, and last night was stifling to the point where the both of you were completely on edge with each other.
the memory of that conversation now plagues your mind, and you can see it reflecting clearly within choso's dark eyes.
he's thinking about it too, recalling all the tidbits of information that you shared with him and carefully piecing it together.
“you seem a bit squished,” he states with concern, pinching his brows adorably as he shifts to lay on his side. the warmth of his palm finds your waist, and he carefully pulls you closer into him so you're rested more comfortably. “don’t want you falling off the bed…”
face to face, you both stare longingly at one another for minutes, like you're trying to pluck at the seams to find evidence of where this gnawing pain even begins.
teetering on the precipice of a very long drop, you lick your lips absentmindedly when you realize that choso's palm is still on your waist, his thumb now drawing tiny circles.
"this is better, right?"
he's so close that you can feel the vibration of his deep voice run right through you. "yeah," you sigh, inching even further into his touch, and boldly taking the leap as you arch your pelvis against his. "yeah, much better..."
your name sounds heavenly from his lips as he exhales from the contact, and you stifle another moan feeling his prominent bulge rub up against you.
"is this desire?" he murmurs into your lips, "is this why I ache?"
"cho-choso..." you stutter, but grow still when you feel him gently press his lips onto yours.
silence veils your loud thoughts. his kiss is so tender, so pure, motivated out of sheer instinct and nothing else. it's such a gentle act, one that brushes over your lips far too quickly that you find yourself tilting your chin up in search for him when he pulls away.
"it's only you," he groans with a twinge of frustration. "I only feel this way about you,"
he leans in again, this time allowing the kiss to linger, and you eagerly let him explore your lips, tasting his saccharine inexperience with every peck.
"this is how we satisfy those feelings, right? isn't that what you said?" he presses, begging for answers as his hand slips underneath your top to brush strokes along your lower back.
a tightness coils inside your lower belly, and you're only able to manage a hazy, "mhmm" in response.
"show me," he pleads, collapsing the weight of his body onto yours as he repositions himself over you, "please, show me,"
he looks unreal above you - a physical embodiment of divinity and sin. the breathtaking image of his angelic expression is constrasted harshly against that wild, lustful gaze, making it impossible for you to even deny his request.
half human, half curse; but as you nod your head and guide his lips back onto yours, you knew that moving forward all of him would forever belong to you.
⥽ requests?
Gotcha (Billy/Stu)
Summary: Before enacting their plans, Billy and Stu need to be sure they’re physically fit enough to pull it all off, leading to ridiuclousness. (Based on this anonymous prompt, thank you so much for sending it in!! Warnings because there is mentions of canon-typical violence. Hope y’all enjoy the fic!! xo)
“If we’re really going to do this, we should start training,” Billy says idly, like they’re discussing running a marathon rather than a murderous plot.
Stu laughs at first, before realizing that Billy is serious. “Train? Like, go hunting?”
“No, dipshit,” he replies, but there’s a lack of venom in his voice. “Have you ever seen a movie where the victim just lays back and lets the killer stab ‘em? People are gonna fight back, and we can’t afford any mistakes.”
It’s a good point, Stu concedes, and thus begins their ridiculous regime of what he likes to call “Killer Camp”, and even though Billy rolls his eyes at the title, Stu knows he finds it funny as well.
True to its name, Woodsboro has many spots that are thick with trees and shielded by the dark of nighttime, giving them an ideal place to practice. With nothing but two flashlights and two knives, the boys set off into the forest at least once a week. It sort of feels like playing a combination of hide-and-seek and tag, except when you get caught, the other person pushes you to the ground and presses a semi-dull blade to the side of your neck.
Stu has the advantage of being taller, his long legs carrying him through the dirt at a naturally quicker pace, but Billy still manages to catch up to him with cunning, sneaking around the trees and jumping out when Stu thinks he’s clear to slow down for a breather.
And every time, Billy grins down at him, presses the cool metal against his pulse point, and says, “Gotcha” in a tone that makes Stu feel terrified and excited all at once. There’s a strange mix of boyish glee and creepy intrigue that shows in those brown eyes, and it should scare the shit out of him, but Stu trusts him entirely, sometimes against his best judgment.
They aren’t officially keeping score, but Stu has the numbers in his head, and he’s sure that Billy does too. He's behind by just one point, and he intends to even the score tonight.
See, Stu’s not the brains of their operation, but he isn’t stupid. He’s been studying the way Billy behaves on these nights, the pattern he inevitably falls into despite trying to keep Stu on his toes. Because while Billy is pretty smart, most of the victims in horror films aren’t, and it's hard not to fall into that mentality when you’re getting chased through the woods.
Billy always runs to the left rather than straight ahead, and he always finds a place to hide so he can try and strike back when Stu gets close. This time, Stu isn’t going to let him turn the tables.
It’s only been a few moments since Billy darted off into the trees, and Stu doesn’t bother running, just idly creeps through the fallen leaves, peeking behind every trunk.
“Billy,” he sing-songs, unable to keep from grinning.
Billy is always quiet when he’s in this mindset, a stealthy predator. But Stu likes to play with his food, so to speak. The anticipation, the taunting…That’s the part of their plan he really likes.
Just ahead, he sees a sliver of light from behind a tree, like a flashlight half-covered by foliage. He smirks, making his way towards it, but at the last second, he pivots on his heel and finds Billy standing there, eyes going wide when he realizes his trick hasn’t worked.
Stu easily grapples him down to the floor, now that he’s caught off guard.
“Fuck you, dude,” Billy pants. “How’d you know?”
“You’re not dumb enough to accidentally leave the light on,” Stu replies. “It was obviously a trap.”
Although he’s clearly disappointed that his plan failed, Billy grins. There’s a leaf stuck in his hair, and he’s smiling, and Stu wonders how a boy could be so pretty while lying in the dirt like this.
“You gonna let me up now, smart guy?” Billy asks.
Stu hums, like he’s considering it. “Make me,” he says.
Something in Billy’s face darkens at his words, and Stu worries for a moment that he’s actually going to get stabbed. With surprising ease, Billy shifts his weight and sends them tumbling to the side, but the last thing Stu expects is for fingers to jab into his ribs, making him yelp in surprise before starting to giggle.
“What the fuck, man?” he asks, his own hands darting around, trying to catch Billy’s wrists, but his attempts are easily evaded, and those fingers just make their way beneath his arms, making him clamp his arms down with another high-pitched sound.
Billy just smirks at him. “You told me to make you,” he says. “I figured this was a better method than hurting you.”
‘What a gentleman’, Stu’s mind sarcastically supplies, but he can’t spit it out between his laughter. He doesn’t think Billy has tickled him in years, and the fact that he still remembers his weak spots is both inconvenient and oddly touching.
And although he’s technically beaten Billy at their game, the taste of victory is too sweet to fully let go of, especially because he refuses to tap out from tickling of all things.
Despite the urge to keep his arms glued as tightly to his sides as possible, Stu forces himself to fight back, reaching out to squeeze Billy’s hip.
Billy lets out a startled sound, and his hands falter, giving Stu the leverage he needs to wrestle his friend back down, straddling his thighs and tickling up and down his sides, making giggles bubble from his lips in the most adorable way.
“Asshole,” Billy grits out.
“You started this,” Stu reminds him, moving up to dance over his ribs, sending Billy into a new fit of laughter, thrashing wildly in the dirt. Memories of tickle fights back when they were younger have flooded back, and he remembers how this spot always got Billy to give in.
Clearly, not much has changed, because it only takes another moment before Billy is chanting, “Okay, fuck, stop—!” and Stu obeys, giving him a moment to catch his breath before he leans down, their noses just barely touching, and plucks a leaf out of Billy’s brown, wavy hair.
“You suck,” Billy says.
“You love me,” Stu replies.
They’re so close, Stu can feel the heat rise in Billy’s face when he says it, and even in near pitch-darkness, he can see the flicker of emotion in his expression.
Even when it seems like a bad idea, Stu trusts Billy. He’s known him for so long, has felt this way for so long…He closes the gap between them and presses their lips together, and is shocked when the kiss is immediately reciprocated. He was worried that this would end with a knife stuck in his gut, but he’s much happier with this outcome.
When they pull back, Stu can’t help but chuckle softly, and whisper, “Gotcha.”
Billy snorts and shoves him to the side, standing up and brushing dirt off of his jeans. He extends a hand out, and Stu takes it, rising to his feet.
They drive back to Stu’s house, the radio the only sound. He worries that Billy’s gonna pretend this never happened, or worse, be pissed off at him about it. But when they get inside, wash the dirt off of their hands and faces, and change into pajamas (Stu’s shirt is big on Billy, and he looks fucking adorable in it), he’s pleasantly surprised when Billy crawls into bed beside him instead of taking the floor.
“We’re tied now,” he says.
“I know,” Billy replies. “Don’t get cocky; I’ll get you next time.”
Stu snuggles closer, throwing an arm over Billy’s waist, spooning him from behind. Billy sinks into the touch willingly, like he’s wanted it as long as Stu has. “I feel like we should make tickling against the rules,” Stu adds after a pause. “I mean, I can’t imagine anyone doing that while we’re tryin’ to stab them.”
That makes Billy laugh again. “I mean, you never know. We should be prepared for anything.”
“You’d be fucked if someone tried that,” Stu teases, poking his stomach, making him flinch.
“Oh, fuck off.”
“Maybe I should do it more, try and build up your resistance. Remember, we can’t afford any mistakes!”
Billy swats his hand, still giggling. “Goodnight, dumbass.”
“Night, giggles.”
He doesn’t protest the nickname, nor Stu’s suggestion that this will happen again. Stu takes this as a good sign. He falls asleep to the steady rhythm of Billy’s breathing, hoping that this is just the start.
