Caramelised Red Onion & Roasted Garlic Pizza
Caramelised Red Onion & Roasted Garlic Pizza©KevinAshton2023
On Tuesday I show my BBQ MasterClass students that it’s easy to make homemade pizza from scratch on a barbecue. I made the pizza dough the night before and place it in my fridge once the dough had doubled in size. Then I made the caramelised red onions, roasted garlic, grilled red peppers on the BBQ. People of a certain demographic have discovered the sweet and spicy combo, and like all things they "discover," they have stretched it so thin.
Hot honey. They're putting that shit on everything.
Pizza, eggs, noodles, chicken, steak, pasta, ranch, pancakes, toast, salad, avocado, biscuits, sandwiches, fruit, and vegetables, I'm tired.
I don't even eat it, and I'm tired of it.
If you told me it was a ploy by The Man to make people eat more of it like they did for bacon, wine, avocado, kale, and açai I'd believe it. You can't watch five recipe videos without one of them putting hot honey on something.
The same for garlic confit and roasted garlic. I've done that there times, it's just okay. There's no need for every one of your recipe videos to feature garlic being roasted or confited. (You know who I'm talking about)
I understand it's a trend it's getting clicks, but it's time to stop now.
