My friend @samdoesarts did a little portrait of me last year and (jokingly) made a second version where I look like a bodybuilder and to this day... I won't even look at the original. It doesn't capture the "true me" the way this version does.

This is my favorite.

I aspire to be this version of me one day.

The original is adorable.... see?

But "swole" Scott is my favorite and I want to always be remembered that way.

To be honest we had no idea who you were until a minor drama outbreak occurred on r/stablediffusion regarding a lone hobbyist taking some time to create an homage to your art style so that anyone with stable diffusion could attempt to recreate your work, perhaps even improve it.

As you may or may not be aware, (you're probably aware) your reaction to calling out this individual and his work created a Streisand effect, resulting in a slew of aspiring Al artists taking up the task of creating models in your art style. SamDoesArts is now not only one of the most copied models, but also the most downloaded.

In the event you're actually some kind of reverse psychology savant, and wanted this to happen to better spread your style (and marketing) then bravo, fantastic job! lf not, well, unfortunate.

To celebrate the work of these fine creators we're hosting a "Battle of the Sams!" where members of r/stablediffusion can vote on which of your models did it best. 1st prize will be an 8x10 of any of your prints from your print shop since we actually believe in supporting artists.

I've linked a couple of the entries for your famous scrutiny. If none of these are up-to-snuff, we'd love to work with you to create an official Sam Does Arts model, could be a fun project!

sorry it’s really late and I don’t want to make you wait over like 12 hours so sorry if this is hard to understand that’s on my part but BASICALLY:

recently samdoesart posted a draw of tlou featuring Ellie and Joel. Which was:

A LOT of people got mad (rightfully so imo) because of how Ellie was drawn. He then went on to Twitter to say “he only draws faces he finds attractive as a straight man” which is why he always draws females with the exact same face. Which got people rightfully even more upset because A) Ellie is FOURTEEN!!! And B) the actor who plays Ellie (Bella Ramsey) is non-binary. So he’s in some hot water for basically p*do shit and misogyny

Kooleen. Ugh. God I hate her fjdndnd. She also has the same issues that Sam does with the “attractive” same face syndrome faces. She also posted a YouTube clip of her drawing Anya from soy x family and commented Anyussy…which if you know what -ussy adds to stuff then 😬.

They also both just give like really shitty advice that can be a little misogynistic fatphobic and racist if you look closely enough and focusing on “fixing” / “yassifyibg” (<- barf ) other peoples art to look exactly like their cookie cutter bland ass art style.

Overall pretty shitty people who are in it for the money (<- kooleen at least) and bad vibes all around

Practicing women of colour after learning of the Kooleen drama. Let’s get something straight:

1. no art style in the world is “unable” to represent any and all ethnicities unless you absolutely insist on same-face-syndrome.

2. your pastel colour palette is not “incompatible with Black characters”. Lots of Black girls love pastel fashion, and phenotype isn’t just colour.

3. “incorrect facial proportions” aren’t a thing. The triangle method is BS. Rihanna’s lips and chin stick out further than her nose, are you gonna tell her she’s anatomically incorrect..? God damn she’s gorgeous!

4. “but my aesthetic” just say you think certain ethnic features are ugly and go. You can draw whatever I want, but don’t “fix” ethnic faces using your racist little triangle or whatever. Alba Flores’ nose is perfect the way it is. Draw it like that or draw someone else.
