Say hello to Milo and Sonia! (Really tried to find a not-gender-neutral name for Sam but honestly I came up a little short. If anyone has a better idea for names for her, please do let me know. I don't wanna keep it as just Sam.)

I'm not married to either of these outfits, but for some reason it was real tough trying to come up with something for Milo to still look fashionable, and for Sonia to still look like a skater girl.

I have been thinking about this for so long, but let me say this for once: I actually respect book fans who saw the show once, knew they hated it, and blocked everything about the show, and carried on with their own lives and interests. Rather than those who act like they like the show, follow its fandom, but when you ask what they like about it, it's mostly just the cast (or just Sam, and tolerate the rest of them) and the potential of their fave characters or book subplot to be picked up, and nothing to do what the show presented narratively. And on top of that, they refuse to acknowledge the show as an Adaptation, that while having similarities with the books, also has a lot of fundamental differences which make whatever theories they have had based on the books can't be just applied to the show (especially about the relationship between the lead characters). They refuse to see the show has its own thing with its own canon. Then shove these theories down other fans' throats, rolling out all these facts from later books, while invalidating everything the show has established as its own canon.

Added, because I had to go: Especially those who act hollier-than-tho over show-only fans, specifically Black audiences who sympathize with the show more. "Audiences", because they even come to casual watchers on Twitter, moving like fleas. Especially those who are literally having a hate campaign on one of the writers just because she didn't explain the scene they dislike the way they like, wishing her to be fired even (God, I won't ever forget that) despite the writers broke down the stories together. Jokes on them, she's promoted to producer now though.

Like Alan Taylor said, they know they will lose some (fans) and gain some (fans). So, please just admit you dislike the show. You still can share things about the cast you fancy idk idc. But just don't ruin the fandom space for everyone. There are still book fans who genuinely like the show despite the differences and there's a LOT of new fans who like the show.
