i think that even if adam survived, and they had their happy ending, lawrence would still be haunted by the ghost of him. he'd wake up in a cold sweat, next to the man he's spending the rest of his life with, the man who forgave him immediately, even after he'd almost killed him. i think that lawrence wouldn't understand adams forgiveness and still hate what he did forever.
