y/ndevils00 hi people! thank you for tuning into tonight’s (brief) postgame recap! this is a very sad night for my favorite boys, as we lost 6-1 to the winnipeg jets.
we had a meager three penalties tonight!
starting off with erik, who has banned me from making any more name puns (boring!). erik got a penalty for tripping, bringing him up to an astounding 47 penalty minutes this season!
next, i’d like to bring your attention to jack’s picture. nothing special, i just like it.
and then, of course, we have my boyfriend again; chewing on his glove like a rabid little chihuahua <3
the next penalty was from siegs at the very end of the 1st period for high sticking! i had dawson do my dirty work for me and give him a very stern talking to during intermission!
next up, we have hershey bar looking very displeased, and i can’t say i blame him!
we got a little over halfway through 3rd period before we got the final penalty from the newest swiss, timo for holding! he took a lesson from my very rude boyfriend and hid behind the stanchion. i very much did not like that.
however, our lone goal came with SECONDS left in the game, scored by the captain himself! who still looked very disappointed to say the least.
and lastly, bff number 1 says i should apologize to bff number 2 for dissing him last night 😒 so we have a picture of marinara and i’m supposed to tell him that i’m proud of him (i’m not sure what for though? he didn’t do anything 🤷‍♀️)
tagged ehaula, jackhughes, siegenthaler34, nicohischier, tmeier96 and john.marino97
ehaula i know i asked you to stop but now it feels weird without the name puns
y/ndevils00 so….
ehaula so you can do the puns
y/ndevils00 OH THANK GOD! do you realize how hard it was to withhold from them?! it was torture!
ehaula it’s been one post
user18 i’ve become so used to the “haula” puns that i forgot who erik was for a second
siegenthaler34 i made my y/n post debut!
y/ndevils00 it could’ve been for a better reason…
nicohischier you weren’t even there but you still got 2 horrible photos of me
y/ndevils00 i have spies everywhere
nicohischier what does that even mean?
y/ndevils00 guess you’ll never know
jackhughes why?
y/ndevils00 why what? why do i praise you when you don’t appreciate it? i don’t know, you would think i would’ve learned by now
jackhughes no. why the 2nd picture? why do you like it? why call me a chihuahua?
y/ndevils00 i like it. your eyes are so pretty and blue. because you’re small and scrappy and chew on everything.
jackhughes i’m 5’11
y/ndevils00 sure you are honey
dougieham if you went just based off y/n’s posts and comments, i don’t think anyone would ever guess that her and marino are genuinely best friends
y/ndevils00 it’s called tough love <3
john.marino97 she’s evil
trevorzegras i’m forever grateful that i’m a duck so i’ll never be subjected to the torture you put these guys through
y/ndevils00 there’s always next trade szn 😈
trevorzegras the ducks would never trade me
y/ndevils00 i have friends in high places… watch your back zegras
tmeier96 hughesy told me to sit there before i went into the box. he didn’t tell me why but i guess now i know
y/ndevils00 @/jackhughes do you not love me? do you not want to see me happy? this is why luke is my favorite
jackhughes @/y/ndevils00 luke is your WHAT?
lhughes_06 @/y/ndevils00 i feel so special! thank you y/n/n!
john.marino97 i have multiple questions. starting with: why is DAWSON bff number 1? and i didn’t get a penalty so you could be proud of me for that???
y/ndevils00 i like him better. and that’s very true, however you didn’t get a goal or an assist either so….
dawson1417 translation: y/n holds you to a higher standard because she knows how well you play. she knows you can do better but she’s proud of you regardless.
john.marino97 @/dawson1417 well why doesn’t she say it like that? that’s kinda sweet!
y/ndevils00 emotions are for the weak
john.marino97 @/jackhughes i think your girlfriend is broken
jackhughes she just likes to seem tough on the internet. watch this 👀
jackhughes @/y/ndevils00 i love you so much sweet girl ❤️ i can’t wait to get home
y/ndevils00 @/jackhughes i love you too, now come home!
jackhughes @/y/ndevils00 aww you miss me?
y/ndevils00 @/jackhughes sure, but also you lost your game which means you lost the bet and you have to give LSH her bath <3

WIP Writing Poll
Oh boy here we go again, the number of WIPs just keeps getting bigger! 😬
Thank you @hbyrde36, my dear, for the tag. 🖤
Rules: Make a 24-hour poll with the names of your wips and then for whichever wins, write one sentence for every vote it gets (but you should also write 1 sentence for every vote each of them gets!)
I think I'll do the same and post the snippets here after I get them written so watch this space! All will be posted under their respective tags that are tagged here too. I'm currently vacillating between debilitating burnout, writers block and an idiosyncratic want to write at the same time. So hopefully this will help me get my head on straight again.

Fic blurbs below the cut:
Return of The King - Part 8
Steddie vampire fic with vampire!Steve. Last chapter there was an earthquake, Wayne got the cliff-notes of the Upside Down, a car chase van chase, feral Steve, and they approached the gate to the Upside Down.
Comeuppance
The kids (Dustin) try to meddle in Steve's love life though they've been warned not to. Everything starts falling apart and they get their comeuppance.
Through The Valley
Post-Apocalyptic AU set roughly fourteen months after spring break. Eddie, Dustin and Nancy have a nice little community of survivors outside of Hawkins that they take care of. They're the ones who know most about this stuff after all, since the military abandoned them. They don't talk about it, but each of them hopes they can find the others again soon. But it's been so long already.
Unnamed D&D AU
Step right up! Step right up! We got a fantasy AU here! Necromancy! Enemies to lovers! Religious cults! Murder husbands! Who did this to you? Featuring Paladin!Steve and Bard!Eddie who won't stay Bard!Eddie for very long...
And They Were Roommates!
Bitchy queers Steve and Eddie don't like living together and they do not like each other. They snipe and bitch and complain. But Eddie hasn't come home yet and it's not like Steve is worried or anything... he's just... concerned for a fellow human being... that's all.
Unnamed Spies/Secret Agents AU
Containing both an established relationship oneshot and a getting together prequel. Similar to others above we've got enemies to lovers, bitchy, sexy, flirting while trying to kill each other, murder husbands, protective Eddie and maybe just a smidge of Steve getting duped. As a treat.
Unnamed PStobin+RSteddie Baby AU
Steve and his husband had always wanted kids. Except apparently Albert wasn't quite so up for it as he'd previously said. Robin is just standing there, 37 weeks pregnant with Steve's IVF baby having just punched Albert in the nose and oh god why is she leaking everywhere?? Is it happening?? IT'S HAPPENING, OH JESUS! TAXI!
Before He Cheats
I swear to god it sounds so much worse than it is. Steddie boys DO NOT cheat on each other in this fic or ANY of my fics EVER, you can be assured of that.
It's a songfic.
I'm just gonna drop this here.

2023 Fic Year in Review
I've been doing these for three years now, and they always grow each year as I get tagged in other year-end posts that make the rounds. Feel free you grab it if you want to do your own review! And I’d like to add a hearty thank you to each and every person who’s read my fics over the years, y'all continue to make this a joy!

Additional Random AO3 Stats

By word count: 52% mult-chaps, 48% one shots
Ratings by number of fics: 48% T-rated, 33% E-rated, 15% M-rated
Musical artists contributing highest number of titles: Jeff Tweedy (Tweedy/Wilco) & The New Pornographers, tied at 3 each
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?  Somehow I topped my word count from last year by 10k, which I was not expecting. That said, this year was right about average.
What’s your own favorite story of the year?  God this is a hard question this year because I wrote a lot of fics I really really love. For one single fic I'll go with Nova, Baby, because I love the story and I've got a lot of lovely feelings about it.
Did you complete your writing goals from last year?  The Goal: I want to complete a few large multichapter fics, which will probably mean my one-shot production goes down. I completed one long mulitchap, and then a few mid-length (~20k) multichaps. I think I wrote more of those than I have any other year. Surprisingly, my one-shot production wasn't super significantly decreased.
Do you have any writing goals for the New Year? Ok, I gotta come up with something. My goal is to have a similar mix of fics as least year, and also to write my first collaboration with @cricketnationrise, which will be a long multichap.
Did you take any writing risks this year? Wrote on a topic outside my wheelhouse (therapy 😬) and also posted a fic in a fandom where there weren't a lot of fics in similar genres (action/spies). Now that's no longer true, but at the time it was really freaking nerve-wracking.
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Every fic I write in a fandom that's not RWRB? 😅 It's hard to complain too much, especially considering what happened to my numbers this year.
Most fun story to write: All the Old Showstoppers, Will You Brie Mine?, You're the Perfect Gift for Me. Silly RWRB boys being silly, basically.
Biggest disappointment: Again, I feel like it's hard to complain when I have a fic that's closing in on 4k kudos. The goalposts keep moving, don't they, though? I still live in fear of pouring my heart into a multichap and having what will count as "lukewarm" reception, when before this year I didn't have a single fic above 1k kudos.
Biggest surprise: Most definitely Please Don't Let Me Be So Understood. Like I figured it would do pretty well (I hoped, since I put so much into it), but holy shit?? I still can't really believe it's on page 2 of the tag by kudos? And honestly also Always Where I Need To Be, this little one-shot about David stealing glasses.
Coming soon/planned for 2024:
False Dichotomy (RWRB You've Got Mail AU)
Kissed Out (RWRB pro-pool players AU)
RWRB 1940s noir AU
RWRB conductor/piano soloist AU
RWRB hockey AU (with cricket)
A shitload of prompts from my fandom fest
Extremely delinquent MTH fics
TMFU art thief/gallery owner AU
Thank you for the tags on your end-of-the-year fic reviews @loki-is-my-kink-awakening, @kiwiana-writes, @rmd-writes, @lizzie-bennetdarcy, @indestructibleheart, and @welcometololaland!

What Could Have Been (8/?)
Series Premise: When Ethan breaks his promise, Cassie is forced to accept they’re not inevitable after all.
Book: Open Heart Pairing: Ethan Ramsey x F!MC (Cassie Valentine) Rating/Category: Teen. Angst Words: 1,150
Series Masterlist
A/N: Submission to @choicesmonthlychallenge June prompt "roses". I'm also using @choicesflashfics week 47, prompt 2
Chapter 8: Snow on the Beach. Love is never really over unless you want it to be.
Tumblr media
Ethan Ramsey slowly sipped his scotch at Donahue’s and spied on Cassie Valentine with her friends in one of the booths in his line of sight. He pondered the current state of his love life, or lack thereof, a phenomenon entirely of his own making.
After that kiss a couple of weeks ago, things between Cassie and him had been strictly professional. Despite wanting to resolve things, he followed her lead and secretly planned how to break through her serenity.
He knew women preferred romance, but for the life of him, he couldn’t figure out what that meant. He could follow the advice of countless saccharine pop songs and fantastical romantic comedies on how to get the girl.
The problem was he couldn’t see himself as the hero of a grand romantic gesture. It just wasn’t him. Standing outside a girl’s window with a boombox blasting on his shoulder sounded ridiculous to him and, frankly, stalkerish.
Sure, he sent flowers to women he’d been intimate with. His father had raised him right, after all.
His face flushed at the realization that he had never sent Cassie flowers after their first night together. Or their second, for that matter, and any of the ones they spent together before he left for Brazil.
What was it about Cassie that made him forget he was a gentleman?
The other man in her life clearly had no such hangups. Not one to gossip, his ears nevertheless pricked at hearing through the grapevine about the extravagant gift basket delivered to Dr. Valentine.
“Moira was there when it was delivered at reception,” Marlee whispered loudly, her eyes locked on the computer screen at the nurses’ station. “Easily a couple of hundred dollars worth of gourmet snacks, trinkets and bubbly in there.”
“She’s probably used to it,” Sarah commented, and Ethan’s brows knit in confusion.
He had been a resident, and expensive gift baskets were not the norm. Lost in thought, he almost missed the rest of Sarah’s comment but tuned in just in time for his world to spin on its axis. Again.
“….family owns Hudson Hotels. The Valentines are practically American royalty with more money than God.”
“I wonder why she’s slaving away as a resident,” Marlee speculated. “Lord knows she doesn’t need to work.”
Sarah shrugged as if it was a mystery to her. Ethan slunk away, not wanting to be caught listening to gossip. But his mind was reeling from everything he didn’t know about the woman who loved him.
Any chances of winning her back were lost unless he went big, too. But was competing with another man really the way to go? One who looked like he belonged in her world?
He might be rich now, but Ethan knew he wasn’t in the same league as the Valentines and never would be. But he was losing her, he thought with another furtive glance at where she stood, ready to leave with Trinh and Greene.
Whatever misgivings he still had about them, could he live with himself if he let her go without even trying?
Cassie Valentine loved days off. Granted, she only got one every week if she was lucky, so that made a golden weekend all the more special.
She luxuriated in her warm and comfortable bed, her mind floating with do-nothing thoughts. She had woken up early to FaceTime with Nate in Singapore, something they’d fallen into the habit of doing. It started out as texts and graduated to video calls.
He was coming home next week, and she owed him an answer on where they stood.
Nate made her laugh with his witty observations. His sincere compliments reminded her she was a desirable young woman. But being with him meant a long-distance relationship, stolen moments whenever he could spare them, accepting she’d always share his time and attention with his business.
Cassie was honest with herself, and the reality was she enjoyed the romance. It wasn’t the gifts per se but the idea that he often thought of her. The lack was in her that she wished the gesture was from Ethan whenever she flipped open the accompanying card.
And maybe that was the answer.
She once thought being with Ethan was enough. That she didn’t need romance if he wasn’t comfortable with it. But she needed it, always had.
She wanted to be kissed on a moonlit balcony in Miami with the gentle sound of waves lapping against the beach. To walk down the street with her hand clasped in Ethan’s, his thumb stroking her fingers absently. She doubted he was even aware of doing it.
Cassie wanted to flirt with Ethan at Donahue’s and stay past last call for one more drink because it was never enough. She wanted to go home with him to just sleep and wake up to the smell of coffee percolating in his fancy espresso machine.
She wanted that slow fall from soft moments to forever…
“Cassie, come quick,” Sienna called out excitedly from outside her bedroom door, interrupting her thoughts.
Reluctant to leave her bed, Cassie almost didn’t reply. But then she immediately felt guilty and shoved the covers aside. Her roommates were used to the tee shirt and shorts she habitually slept in, so she didn’t bother with a robe.
She marched out of her bedroom to the fragrant scent of red roses perfuming the apartment. Elijah stared wide-eyed at the flowers the delivery man set on the table. Sienna was beaming, her eyes soft as she bubbled in excitement at the romantic gesture.
Cassie signed the electronic receipt and ran back into her bedroom to grab cash for a tip. She led the delivery man out, leaned against the closed door, and took a deep breath.
Nate knew she wasn’t a red roses type of person and that she preferred subtlety in all things. So, who had sent her the lavish bouquets? She hadn’t counted, but from the brief glimpse, she guessed it was close to two dozen, if not more.
She wasn’t going to find the answer in the front hallway. She padded on bare feet back to the living room, where her roommates stared at the flowers with curiosity and interest.
“This is big-league romance, Valentine,” Jackie teased, standing in the kitchen with her coffee mug.
“There’s a card,” Sienna said, clapping her hands. “Thirty-two roses. I counted.”
Cassie grinned at Sienna’s enthusiasm, plucking an envelope clipped to the bouquet closest to her.
“Are they from Nate?” Sienna asked.
But Cassie didn’t reply. Her heart sank as she read the words on the card.
“Just because I let you go doesn’t mean I wanted to.”
It wasn’t signed, but she’d recognize Ethan’s handwriting anywhere. She saw it almost daily when he jotted ideas on the whiteboard or when he’d autographed Landry’s copy of Diagnostic Principles.
She got her earlier wish. Now what?

Yorktown, 1781
Tumblr media
Yorktown, 1781.
the beginning.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/50928910/chapters/128662936
Pairing: Benjamin Tallmadge/Mary Floyd Tallmadge, & Benjamin Tallmadge and existential crisis (/hj).
Fandom: TURN: Washington's Spies.
Rating: T - Teen and up for non-graphic violence, the moral quandary of war, non-graphic disease, existentialism and canon typical Protestant Christian philosophizing by Benjamin Tallmadge.
Summary: Benjamin Tallmadge at the Battle of Yorktown in 1781. Exploring the moral quandaries of war, ethics, subjectivity, duty to one’s country and God - and if God even exists at all.
Except: Raining down cannon fire which soon spread set the vast majority of the English fleet aflame. Tallmadge didn’t see it, not all of it. Truthfully, it was hard to watch, the agony of others, even the enemy, even redcoat lobsters, practically flamed alive. Cornwallis retreated in a small escape vessel but in but a manner of hours, the English fleet at Yorktown and the men who had stood through no fault of their own for their… King and Country were obliterated.

Joshua 2:2 Bible Study Verse Reflection
Joshua 2:2 Chapter Summary:
Two Israelite spies sent by Joshua enter the city of Jericho and stay with Rahab, a prostitute. She hides them from the king of Jericho in return for their promise of protection for her and her family during the Israelite invasion.
Joshua 2:2 in context:
1 Then Joshua secretly sent out two spies from the Israelite camp at Acacia Grove. He instructed them, “Scout out the land on the other side of the Jordan River, especially around Jericho.” So the two men set out and came to the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there that night.
2 But someone told the king of Jericho, “Some Israelites have come here tonight to spy out the land.” 3 So the king of Jericho sent orders to Rahab: “Bring out the men who have come into your house, for they have come here to spy out the whole land.”
4 Rahab had hidden the two men...
Joshua 2:2 Verse Reflection:
Who is this "someone" and why does God let "someone" act against his people?
Sometimes God will use "someone(s)" who can do actions against you to test your motives and save others (ex: Rahab, Job among others and Cross-Refs: Proverbs 16:2, Proverbs 21:2, Proverbs 24:12, 1 Samuel 16:7, Luke 16:15, Jeremiah 17:10, Romans 8:27, Revelation 2:23)
In this verse, this "someone" could have been a jealous Israelite, or a random lover or hater of Rahab, or even someone extremely patriotic since only a strong emotion caused them to risk going all the way to the king of Jericho to share this news confidently. This could even have been an angel of God though this theory is most unlikely since it would have been made clear in bible.
What can we learn about God: There are likely plenty of people who are readily available for God and Satan to use for their purposes and such people in terms of morality could be willing to do immoral or unwise actions, or even moral actions that still negatively impact you but praise God since ultimately they are still under the control of God's sovereign power. (Romans 8:28)
Questions for ourselves: If you are aware of such "someone(s)" in your life, are you willing to trust in God's sovereignty that they are still under God's plan (like Judas Iscariot was under God's plan by betraying Jesus Christ intentionally)? Are you willing to forgive and pray for this person(s) like Jesus prayed "Father, forgive them for they know not what they are doing?" (Luke 23:34)
Praise God for everything He has planned for us to make us more Christ-like on this earth. (Romans 8:29)

Chapter 8: Charming? Katsu charms a 'Prince,' acquires a maid, and tries to steal her letter back from Mitsuhide.
Mitsuhide x OC; Hideyoshi x MC (Mai)
Previous Chapter
Logline - With Mai, Hideyoshi, and Aki missing, Mitsuhide and Katsuko reluctantly team up. Disguised as a merchant and his concubine, can they outsmart the man known as the God of Deceit?
Chapter Excerpt:
“Where did she come from again?” I asked Mitsuhide as he gestured to a pot of stew that he’d thrown together.
Literally. Thrown. Together.
“Please, partake. I could hear your stomach demanding food even over Sho’s monologue.” He handed me an empty bowl. “As for the maid, I had her direction from Shojumaru. Apparently one of her siblings works for him.”
“Shojumaru suggested her? Couldn’t that mean she’s a spy?” Surely Mitsuhide had considered that possibility. “And, seriously, if you are going to fill your house with spies, why not hire a cook too? Because you… can’t.” I looked down at the pot of…  fruits, vegetables, a mystery meat that I really didn’t want to examine the provenance of too closely and wondered why and how he’d been inspired to toss it all into one dish then season it with fish sauce and what smelled like curry.
Completely oblivious to the taste, Mitsuhide was chowing down with gusto. “Dear me, are you questioning my cooking skills?”
“It wasn’t a question; it was a statement of fact.” No wonder Sho had run out of here so quickly. She’d probably been afraid that we would feed her.

Flirting at the Mall 6
Chapter 6 out of 8
Steve and Eddie both work at Starcourt Mall, dancing around each other and flirting. When Steve finally manages to ask Eddie out, he gets kidnapped by Russians and misses their date. He shows up at Eddie’s house, drugged and beaten after Startcourt burned down to apologize and Eddie makes sure he’s okay, before they retry their date.
On AO3.
Ships: Steve x Eddie
Warnings: season 3 Russian stuff

Toilet Floors (Steve POV)
Steve practically scrambles into the break room when Eddie leaves, startling both Robin and Dustin up from their translation. He looks at the white board and says: “Why did we erase this?”
“Because we needed it for the translation,” Dustin answers.
“And because you were being pouty about it,” Robin supplies, voice turning knowing yet disbelieving as she asks: “What? Did something change?”
“I finally got a tally on the other side,” Steve practically yells, jumping in excitement.
“You did?” Robin yells, equally excited for him.
Steve just nods vigorously and both of them jump some more. They’re interrupted by Dustin asking: “Okay what’s going on?”
Both Steve and Robin fall quiet, looking at each other, before Steve shrugs: “I got a date.”
“I thought you were cooler about that than this, what happened to just ignore them and they will like you?” he asks.
“It’s been a rough summer, dickhead,” is all Steve says, ignoring Robin’s raised brow at hearing his old advice. It’s not something he’s proud of, okay.
But it doesn’t matter now. He has a date. With Eddie. They’re going to watch the fire works and Eddie is going to talk to him abut DnD, explaining his own hobby and that of the kids. And then, if it all goes well, he’ll kiss him. God, he can already imagine chapped lips under his own, long fingers in his hair.
Luckily both Robin and Dustin let it go to focus back on the message they’re trying to translate and de-code.
After that it goes really quick. They figure out the clues at the end of he day then spend the entirety of the 3rd of July to get Erica to help them break in. Eddie doesn’t work on Wednesdays, so he hasn’t seen him since he asked him out.
It works out perfectly like this, he thinks. So far, it has always been one evening, so if he deals with whatever is afoot in Hawkins right now, he’ll have all of tomorrow evening to spend with Eddie and the boy won’t get wrapped up in the crazy shit that still keeps him awake at night.
However, life often doesn’t do what Steve wants it to do and just when he thinks he has figured it out, it changes.
The storeroom is actually an elevator and the Russians are working with the Upside Down and think he and Robin are fucking spies. They barely manage to get Erica and Dustin out of harms way and the words “I won’t forget you!” echo around his brain on a loop as he is dragged off to a room somewhere in the Russian base.
He hates how he dragged Erica into this, how he didn’t fight harder to keep Robin away. How he didn’t insist he’d go in alone. How he doesn’t know if Robin is getting hurt like him.
All he can do, is sit alone in that room as he gets beaten half to death, the room spinning and his ears ringing, as he keeps his mouth shut. He can’t give them the information they want. He can’t sell out his friends. He can’t be weak.
Relief crashes through him when he gets thrown into the cell with Robin and she is alive and unharmed. At least he did that right. He held out long enough that she wouldn’t become a target. He vaguely wonders how long they’ve been stuck there, but the thought can’t seem to stick in his rattled brain.
They try to escape, but it doesn’t work. They can only lie there helplessly as the Russians come back, this time with syringes that they plunge into their necks, making their tongues loose.
Later, Steve will think back and try to understand if it was the head injury or the serum or both that made him talk. Wonder why he couldn’t fight it while Robin managed. Agonize over who now knows Dustin’s name and how differently it all could have ended for his favorite kid.
But for now, he feels floaty, happy. Giggle-y.
He and Robin are having the time of their lives in the back of that truck thing-y that Dustin is driving, both him and Erica saying stuff that goes in one ear and comes out the other without either of them listening to any of it.
The two of them get parked in the cinema and Steve has no clue what’s happening on screen, but Alex P. Keaton is hot and the mom too, so he’s happy to be here. As is Robin, she’s giggling right alongside him, getting shushed by movie goers, who don’t know how to have fun.
Soon though, they get thirsty and Steve follows Robin out of the theater to a water fountain where they try to understand the movie. Steve is pretty sure Robin doesn’t know what she’s talking about, but she sounds pretty sure of herself as she tries to explain why the title makes sense.
Steve thinks she’s full of shit, but gets distracted by the pretty lights. Before he knows it, he’s in a toilet stall next to Robin, puking his guts out.
“The ceiling stopped spinning for me,” Steve suddenly notes. “Is it still spinning for you?”
It’s quiet for a second, then Robin replies: “Holy shit. No.”
“Do you think we puked it all up?” Steve wonders.
“Maybe. Ask me something,” Robin replies, putting on a Russian accent. “Interrogate me.”
That shouldn’t be funny, it should be terrifying after what they just went through, but Steve still snorts as he mutters: “Okay. Interrogate you. Sure. Uhm…” he tries to think of a good question for a second. “When… was the last time you peed your pants?”
“Today,” comes Robin’s immediate reply.
“What?” Steve laughs.
“Yeah, when that Russian doctor took out the bone saw,” she explains.
“Oh my god,” Steve laughs. It again should be horrifying. He hadn’t even seen the torture equipment they brought out, except for the pliers that they nearly used to rip his nails out, before Dustin and Erica came to save them.
“Just a little bit, though,” Robin defends herself with a giggle.
“Yeah, it’s definitely still in her system,” he says to himself, shaking his head a bit at this doofus, who has become his friend so quickly.
“Alright, my turn!” Robin gets his attention again, sounding so excited about the prospect of interrogating him.
“Okay, hit me.”
“Have you…” Robin thinks about her question for a second, then hits him with, “…been in love?”
“Jup, Nancy Wheeler, first semester of Senior year and-” he cuts himself off, a sudden realization washing over him. He wanted to say and Eddie. Eddie, who has always been on his radar, but has completely taken over his mind these past few weeks, to an extend he hadn’t realized before this moment. And now it’s ruined.
He’s puled out of his despairing thoughts by Robin, who exclaims: “Oh my god, she is such a priss,” oblivious to Steve’s mood shift.
“Turns out not really,” Steve replies, sounding distant to his own ears.
Steve isn’t sure Robin picks up on the distance in his voice when she asks: “Are you still in love with Nancy?”
“No,” he sighs, thinking of curly hair on a different head and a smile with dimples instead of sharp cheeks. His mind drifts to teasing dramatics at the Scoops Ahoy counter, instead of the annoyed huffs that had marked the last few weeks of his relationship with Nancy.
“And now?” Robin asks, her voice giving away that she might know something. Eddie. God, she knows. She has watched him make a fool out of himself every single day the past two weeks (three if you count the week when he waited for Eddie after that first time) until he finally brought himself to ask. His biggest supporter.
He wants her to know and without his permission, he starts: “I’ve found someone, who’s a little better for me, I think. It’s crazy. Ever since Dustin got home, he’s been sating ‘you know, you gotta find your Suzie. You gotta find your Suzie.’”
“Wait, who’s Suzie?” Robin asks.
“It’s some girl from camp, I guess his girlfriend,” Steve answers. “To be honest with you, I’m not 100% sure she’s even real. But that’s not- that’s not really the point. That doesn’t matter. The point is, this someone, you know the one that I like. It’s someone that I didn’t even talk to in school. And I don’t know why.”
Steve is pretty sure, he’ll be haunted by who he used to be in high school for the rest of his life and every day he regrets who he used to be more.
“Maybe, because Tommy H. would’ve made fun of me or I wouldn’t be prom king or I wouldn’t be able to sit at the popular kid table,” he continues. “It’s all stupid. I mean, Dustin is right, it’s all a bunch of bullshit anyways.”
Bullshit.
Anger floods through his system at the word. That stupid word. How effortlessly Nancy had said it, more like spat it at him. How it hurt. How easily he could fit it to all the parts of his life he had created to protect himself and was now trying to unlearn again. How none of it mattered to Nancy anyway. How he stopped caring.
“Because, when I think about it, it’s all stupid. I should’ve been hanging out with him this whole time. And yeah, I know it’s stupid to think we wouldn't have gotten shit from everyone and there was a reason I made king Steve, but he would’ve been so worth it, you know. First of all, he’s hilarious. He’s so funny,” the anger in his voice melts into softness when he thinks of Eddie.
Steve can admit, he lets out a dreamy sigh as he goes on: “I feel like this summer I have laughed harder than I have laughed in a really long time. And he’s creative. Way more creative than me, you know. He can pull worlds out of thin air and… You know, he’s unlike anyone I’ve ever even met before.”
He sits there thinking of Eddie for a little while, before he notices how quiet it has gotten. Then he frowns and asks “Robin?” No reaction. “Robin, did you just OD in there?”
“No,” Robin answers. “I am still alive.”
Steve doesn’t like her tone in any way. Concern creeps up his spine, so he pushes his own feelings aside for a second to slide under the divider between stalls.
“That’s disgusting,” Robin tells him, but she doesn’t look like she’s dying or too upset.
So, Steve just shrugs and says: “Yeah, well, I already got a bunch of blood and puke on my shirt, so…” He’s quiet for a second, then softly he asks: “What are you thinking?” not liking how she’s staring at her shoes.
“It’s stupid,” she says, still not meeting his eyes.
“I promise I won’t think it is,” Steve tells her, hoping how earnest he is shines through.
Apparently it does, because Robin says: “Listen to me, Steve. It shocked me to my core, but I like you. I really like you.” Ouch, okay. “But I’m not like your other friends. I- I can’t put my own experiences aside.”
Fuck, fuck, fuck, Steve thinks, he’s probably done something horrible to her in his douche bag days and she’ll never be able to forgive him. She is his best friend. And she probably hates him.
“Do you remember what I said? About me being jealous and, like, obsessed?” she asks and he nods, giving her a soft: “Yeah,” still nervous about what’s coming.
“You could just be so normal then. You had all these girls fluttering around you, so much attention on you and you seemed to thrive on it. You were able to be this perfect little leader, who is so absurdly normal, while I never could,” she explains. “And when I learned you were queer too, I was so happy. To not be alone, you know.”
Okay, this is not going where Steve thought it was going. He has to reset a little, because of that, so he just nods along, trying not to be too relieved, because it sounds like something is still coming.
“But it also hurts to see you flirt with Eddie,” Robin confesses. “Because you can just do it. You can act normal, yet also do this queer shit without wanting to curl into a ball. You can just decide to try and get your crush to like you. Get a gay date. In Hawkins. And I’m here and I’m just here having a sad gay no date summer. Jealous of you. And I don’t want to be. I’m happy for you. I just… Sorry.”
“It’s okay,” Steve says. He gets it, truly. He probably would be a little upset if he were in her shoes right now. “It’s totally okay, Rob.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,” Steve confirms. “Though, you won’t be alone in your sad gay no date summer. I planned my date with Eddie on the 4th.. We were going to meet at 7:00 PM, the movie we got out of was the showing of 7:50 PM. I missed our date. He probably hates me now.”
Without his permission, tears start to well up in his eyes. He likes Eddie so goddamn much. He’s been having a shit summer with Robin as coworker his only saving grace. Finally getting that date with Eddie has been the best fucking thing that happened to him and now he ruined it. He fucking ruined it, like he always does.
Or well, the Upside Down ruined it. Just like it had ruined his relationship with Nancy. As if the universe has decided Steve doesn’t deserve happiness. Hell, maybe he doesn’t with all his king Steve bullshit. But it still hurts.
“Oh, Steve,” Robin coos sympathetically. “I- I’m sure he’ll understand.”
“Tsk, like anyone will believe this,” Steve says, gesturing vaguely to encompass the whole Upside Down, Russian bunker torture and drugging nonsense.
“Yeah, okay, maybe not easily,” Robin concedes. “But Eddie is open minded. He’ll be willing to listen if you try.”
“Maybe,” Steve replies dejectedly.
“I mean, my crush is Tammy Thompson,” Robin says, finally telling him after weeks of begging to let him know her crush. She is right that Tammy is one of the straightest girls Steve met. She wouldn’t leave him alone for months. “So, that’s even further out of reach.”
His eyes light up and he repeats: “Tammy Thompson?” in an incredulous tone.
Robin reaches over and slaps him, exclaiming: “You’re not allowed to make fun of me!”
“I mean, yeah, Tammy Thompson, you know, she’s cute and all, but- I mean, she’s a total dud,” he tells her.
“She’s not!”
“Yes, she is,” Steve insists, a little gleefully. He’s allowed, Robin has been bullying about Eddie for way longer. “She wants to be like a singer. She wants to move to like Nashville and shit.”
“She has dreams,” Robin defends herself, but he sees she’s starting to crack up too.
“She can’t even hold a tune,” Steve laughs. “She’s practically tone-deaf. Have you heard her? All the time,” he starts to imitate Tammy’s singing.
Robin protests for a little bit, but soon she’s laughing too and singing along. It feels good to laugh with Robin. She’s one of the few people, who fully knows him. One of the few that took the time to try. It’s nice. He loves her so much, platonically. This moment with her doesn’t fully soothe the hurt in his chest that comes from missing his date, but it makes it more bearable. She makes everything more bearable.
Soon, they’re pulled back into the fray. Steve knows he can’t abandon this to go and try to make it up to Eddie. But Robin’s assurance that Eddie might understand, makes him anxious to get this all over with, so he can try to explain.
By the time they’re done, they’re standing in the parking lot next to the burning mall, curtsy of the government. Everyone is a little more traumatized. Not everyone made it this time and he can see it in the empty stares of the kids.
Fuck, what he wouldn’t do to take that look from those kids and make them smile right now.
However, their parents are getting them and he can’t really explain to them why he’s so close with their kids, so he just watches them all leave. Until he is alone in the parking lot. He told Joyce his parents were on their way and to go home, but he knows they’re out on business.
He also knows he shouldn’t be driving with the state he’s in. But the government hasn’t made him sign any NDA’s about this yet and he still has to convince Eddie that he didn’t show up for a very good reason.
So, he gets in his car and drives off to the Forest Hill trailer park, clear goal in his somewhat fuzzy mind.
~~
A/N:
The bathroom scene is my favorite scene out the entire show, I hope I did it justice in my ‘Robin is already out, but they deserve a bonding moment’-rewrite. (Also, yeah, I checked which showing they went to)

Plagues in the Bible Lesson 04: Plagues in the Wilderness
After the ten plagues of Egypt, the people of Israel were led out of Egypt by Moses.  After such an experience, one would think the people of Israel had more than their fair share of plagues.  However, they went through at least four more plagues in their wilderness journey?  What happened and why?
Let’s read together Exodus 16:1-16; Numbers 11:1-6, 18-20, 31-33; and Psalms 78:17-32,  105:40, 106:13-15.
The Bible records two times where the people of Israel were asking for meat.  Both times God responded by giving them quail.  Why did God send a plague upon the people of Israel the second time?
God showed mercy towards the people of Israel the first time they asked for meat.  However, the people of Israel demonstrated distrust of God when they asked for meat the second time.  God had already provided them food daily by giving them manna.  He also gave them water when they needed it.  Yet, the people of Israel were tired of manna and craving meat.  They even went so far as to crave the food they had when they were slaves in Egypt.
Interestingly, the name “Kibroth Hattaavah” can be translated as “graves of craving” or “graves of lust.”  God punished the people of Israel for giving into their carnal cravings.
Let’s read together Numbers chapters 13 and 14.
Moses sent twelve spies to check out the land of Canaan.  They returned after forty days and confirmed that land was indeed bountiful.  However, ten of the spies told the people of Israel that they would not be able to conquer the inhabitants of the land, who were simply too large and powerful.
Joshua and Caleb begged  the people of Israel to follow the word of the Lord in faith to enter the promised land in faith.  However, the people murmured against Moses and Aaron, wanting to choose new leaders to take them back to Egypt.
In response to the people’s rebellion, God sent a plague that killed the ten spies.  The people of Israel would also not be allowed to enter the promised land for another forty years.  They would all die in the wilderness, except for Joshua and Caleb.  Thus, the people of Israel were punished for blatantly doubting God’s promises and seeking to make their own way.
Let’s read together Number 16:46-50; Romans 8:34; and Hebrews 7:25.
Korah, Dathan, and Abiram led a rebellion against Moses and Aaron.  They contended for the leadership of Israel, but they failed to acknowledge that it was God who appointed Moses and Aaron to be leaders.  Korah, Dathan, and Abiram were killed by God for their presumption.
However, the rebellion did not end there.  The next day the people of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, siding with Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.  God sent a plague upon the people of Israel.  Aaron rushed into the camp with a censer to atone for the people of Israel.  He literally stood between the living and the dead to end the plague.
Aaron’s intercessory action pointed to Jesus, who would stand between us and the plague of sin.
Let’s read together Numbers 21:4-9; John 3:13-15; and John 12:30-36.
Once again, the people of Israel murmured against Moses.  God sent poisonous fiery serpents to plague them in response.  God instructed Moses to make a bronze snake and set it upon a pole.  Anyone bit by a fiery serpent would live if they looked upon the bronze snake.  However, if they refused to look up at the bronze snake, they would die.
This incident foreshadowed Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.  Jesus died bearing all the sins of humanity.  Everyone who repents of their sins and accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior will be saved.  However, anyone who refuses to accept Jesus will die in their own sins.
Let’s read together Isaiah 45:22; John 14:6; 1 John 2:1; and Hebrews 12:2.
What can we learn from these plagues in the wilderness?  We will die in our sins if we rely upon ourselves.  Instead, we need to look upon Jesus and accept His infinite sacrifice on the cross.  Jesus is the only One who can save us from the plague of sin.
Friend, will you confess and repent of your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

CHAPTER 9: Maybe I’m Just That Good
Tumblr media
As everyone gets settled in at the safe house, I decide to continue my other assignment, looking for a way to get to Bucharest.
“It’s a little dangerous to be going on vacation at the moment, isn’t it?” Clint asks from behind you.
I turn around, startled. “I suppose it wouldn’t be much of a secret mission if Ultron is in the web and knows where I’m going.”
“And knows that you’ll be alone,” he adds.
“You think I should stay? For all this… Clint I’m not an avenger, I’m a spy. I can’t be a superhero like you guys, alright? I’m not built like that.”
“You think I am?” He chuckles incredulously. “Y/N, I’m not a God, not a super soldier… I don’t turn into something indestructible but you know what? I do this anyway. Because if not me… if not Nat, then who else? Who else is there? We can’t wait around for other people to step up, we have to do it ourselves.”
“You sound cheesy,” I comment.
Clint rolls his eyes. “You’re here. You’re one of us, whether you like it or not. You can go back to your secret mission later, hell I’ll pay for the plane ticket. You know it’s too dangerous to split up with the threat we’re facing.”
“You’ll really pay for the plane ticket?”
“Yes… Also, in case you haven’t noticed, you made a connection with one of our enemies and didn’t end up on your ass or with a scrambled brain.”
I shrug. “Maybe I’m just that good.”
“Shut up and come down for dinner.” You follow him to the dining room and help Laura set up the table for dinner.
“Where’s Thor?” I ask, noticing the missing God.
“Said he could use the help of a friend…” Steve replies, sitting next to me at the table. We all eat in peace and there’s the occasional compliment to Laura’s cooking.
“Ultron took you folks out of play to buy himself time,” Fury starts. “My contacts all say he’s building something. With the amount of vibranium he made off with, I don’t think it’s just one thing.”
“What about Ultron himself?” Steve asks.
“Oh, he’s easy to track. He’s everywhere. The guy’s multiplying faster than a Catholic rabbit,” Fury replies. “Still doesn’t help us get an angle on any of his plans, though.”
“Is he still going after launch codes?” Tony asks as he plays darts, probably trying to occupy his head.
I tune out as Lila hands me a drawing she did; it had me, Nat and Clint fighting side by side, Steve with his shield, Thor with Mjolnir raised up with lightning bolts coming off her and Tony in his suit while Hulk says smash.
“Has anyone been in contact with Helen Cho?” Banner asks.
He is met with silence.
“I’ll take that as a no…” I say.
The team suits up as Steve and Tony come up with a strategy plan amongst themselves.
“If Ultron’s really building a body…” Steve starts.
“He’ll be more powerful than any of us,” Tony finishes. “Maybe all of us. An android designed by a robot.”
Steve sighs. “You know, I really miss the days when the weirdest thing science ever created was me.”
“Aunt Y/N, promise you’ll keep my dad safe?” Lila asks as she looks up from her Lego set.
“Of course, sweetie,” I smile, reassuringly. “I promise.”
“You ready?” Steve asks, walking up to us. I jump up once I store some pistols in my holsters and taser discs in a compartment in my boots.
“Ready, Freddie.”
Steve responds with a confused look but says nothing as we leave the house. Clint and Laura say their goodbyes and I wave at the family as they watch us walk the ramp up the quinjet.
Steve and I arrive at Dr Cho’s lab in Seoul while Nat and Clint stay in the jet locating Ultron.
My eyes land on Dr Cho on the ground with a wound on her torso.
“Steve,” I call to him as I press a rag up to her injury.
“He’s uploading himself into the body,” the doctor explains.
“Where?” Steve asks as he begins to check the perimeter.
Helen shakes his head, uncertain of Ultron’s planned whereabouts. “The real power is inside the Cradle. You can’t just blow up the gem, it’s uncontainable…”
“We have to get it to Stark…” I say realising that’s the only way. I look up to Steve. “Go.”
He gives me a nod and contacts the jet. I find a phone on the wall and call 119 for an ambulance, I notice bodies in the next room on the floor and go to check for a pulse on each of them. Gone.
“The twins… are they still with Ultron?” I ask Helen as I return to check on her wound.
Helen shakes her head. “The girl… she was able to see what Ultron was planning. She-“ Helen grunts at the pain. “She’s the one that freed me. She and her brother ran.”
I nod, taking in the information. “Cap, you might not like this, but the twins might be on our side.”
I don’t get a response, just punching noises and grunts of effort.
“Cap, you see Nat?” Clint asks over comms.
I frown. What happened?
“If you have the package, get it to Stark! Go!” Steve orders.
“Do you have eyes on Nat?”
“GO!'
I hear the sirens of an ambulance outside.
“I’ll be fine,” Helen says. “There’s a jet on the roof, the- tablet for control and access is on that desk. Go find your team.”
“Thank you, Dr Cho.” I pick up the device and make my way up.
“Anybody on comms?” Steve asks through the communicator.
“Steve? Send me your location, I’m coming to you.”
The jet follows the coordinates Steve sent and I set it to auto-hover as I jump down to meet him and… the twins by a train wreck.
“What… happened?”
“We have to get to Tony.”
“What about Nat- I heard Clint-“
“We get to Nat by getting to Tony first. Do you trust me?” Steve asks, sincerely.
“Of course.”
My eyes meet Wanda’s who seems unsure and Pietro looks guarded.
“Are you coming with us?” I decide to ask.
Steve looks at them expectantly and Wanda nods. I climb up the ladder to the jet, followed by Steve then Pietro who speeds up and Wanda flies up using her powers.
“Where to, Captain?”
“Avengers Tower.”
The ride is quiet as I think of Nat, I’m sure she’s okay. She has to be. We’ll find her and she’ll be just fine.
“Tony and Banner aren’t returning my messages,” Steve says.
“Maybe Ultron blocked the connection?” I offer as I step away from the controls after engaging autopilot.
Steve shakes his head. “Impossible. Stark built a remote radio station on Avengers Tower, Ultron would have to go there manually to access our comms and we know he’s going the opposite direction.”
“We do?”
Steve looks at the twins who are sat close together, Wanda staring hard at the chair in front of her and Pietro jolting his leg up and down in anticipation.
“How’s Dr Cho?” Steve asks.
“She’ll be okay. I stayed with her until the ambulance came. She gave me access to this jet, actually.”
“Generous,” Steve remarks.
“Well,” I start. “I did save her life.”
Steve smirks.
“So, what happened?” I ask again, calmer now that when I first rejoined him.
He tilts his head, referring to Wanda and Pietro. “They turned on Ultron. We were fighting on the train and civilians were in danger. Pietro got the ones in the way to safety while Wanda stopped the train.”
“How did Ultron get Nat?”
Steve shakes his head, unsure of the whole story. “I’m not sure. But we’ll find her. We just have to reconvene with the others, figure out where he’s going and what he’s planning.”
“Do you think Tony’s finished dismantling the Cradle?” I wonder out loud.
“You shouldn’t trust Stark with this,” Wanda states.
I frown and turn to her. “What do you mean?”
“Do you really think that ego of his would allow him to destroy something he had a hand in creating? When it has so much power?”
I haven’t known Tony personally for too long but it’s not such a farfetched theory… “What you think?” I look up to Steve.
“I just want to get to the Tower before they do anything stupid.”
Well that’s reassuring. I go to sit opposite Wanda and Pietro. “I suppose we haven’t officially met. I’m Agent Y/N L/N.”
Pietro stares hard at my outstretched hand and seems to wait for Wanda to make the first move.
“Wanda Maximoff, but you already knew that.”
“And you already knew my name,” I smirk, referring to when she read my mind the first time we met.
“Pietro,” he smiles charmingly.
“Why are you so skeptical about Tony Stark?” I question.
“He has not given us reason not to,” Pietro answers.
“This is personal for you?”
“We decided to allow a terrorist organisation to experiment on us. It’s very personal,” Wanda says.
I nod, wondering what Tony could have done to them for them to be so distrusting of him. “You don’t trust Tony… so why come with us? You could have just run.”
“We helped make this mess,” Pietro starts.
“We have to be there to clean it up.” Wanda looks at Steve who speaks on his comms, I guess that’s working now. Her eyes begin to glow red.
“Ah ah ah, no more mind reading without permission,” I scold.
Wanda gives an amused scoff. “Fine, it would seem we have arrived anyway.” Steve sets the jet down on strip and Wanda stands steady. “In time to see why you shouldn’t trust Stark with such a thing as the mind stone.”
I frown. What’s a mind stone? Dr Kovak’s notes had nothing about it and all Strucker referred to it as was the sceptre’s power.
We walk the strip and down to the lab where Banner and Stark are… working on the Cradle. Of course he roped Bruce into this.
“I’m only gonna say this once,” Steve says authoritatively.
“How about none-ce?” Tony responds.
“Shut it down!”
“Nope, not gonna happen,” Tony continues with whatever he has planned.
“You don’t know what you’re doing,” I say tired of all this. I just want to find Nat.
“And you do?” Bruce says. “She’s not in your head?”
“I know you’re angry,” Wanda starts.
“Oh we’re way past that,” Bruce scoffs. “I could choke the life out of you and never change a shade.”
Harsh, I think. I wonder what Wanda had him see…
Steve tries to reason with the scientists but fails as everyone’s fear of the unknown rises to the surface. Pietro sighs and speeds around unplugging the Cradle.
“No, no. Go on,” he says sarcastically. “You were saying?”
I spot Clint from the glass beneath him and a gunshot rings out. The glass shatters and Pietro falls through.
“I’m rerouting the upload!” Tony calls out and Steve throws his shield at him.
What a team. I jump down where Pietro fell to access the radio station in order to find Natasha while the team works out their differences.
“Did you have any luck finding her?” I ask.
“She sent a code. Wanna fire up the jet while these idiots work it out?” Clint suggests.
I nod and take the note he made of Natasha’s whereabouts and rush up the stairs in time to see Thor land on the Cradle and blast it with lightning from Mjolnir. Something bursts out of the Cradle and my eyes widen as the scene unfolds. I miss the days when my mission was to just find the Captain’s best friend and not dealing with some purple creature.
“I’ve had a vision,” Thor explains. “A whirlpool that sucks in all hope of life and at its centre is that.” Thor points to the yellow glowing stone now encased in the creature’s forehead.
“What? The gem?” Bruce asks.
“It’s the Mind Stone. It’s one of the six Infinity Stones. The greatest power in the universe unparalleled in its destructive capabilities.”
My eyes travel to Wanda, she had named the stone before, it was what gave her and Pietro their powers…
“The Avengers cannot defeat Ultron alone,” Thor elaborates.
“I looked in your head… and saw annihilation,” Wanda says skeptically walking towards him.
“Look again,” the synthezoid says.
Barton scoffs unwilling to accept Wanda’s words. “Her seal of approval means shit to me.”
“Their powers, the horrors in our heads, Ultron himself, they all came from the Mind Stone. And they’re nothing compared to what it can unleash,” Thor warns. “But with it on our side…”
“Is it?” Steve interrupts. “Are you? On our side.”
“I am on the side of life. Ultron isn’t. He will end it all.”
“What’s he waiting for?” Tony asks.
“You.”
“Where?”
“Sokovia,” I answer. “That’s where he took Nat.”
“I don't want to kill Ultron. He's unique, and he's in pain. But that pain will roll over the earth, so he must be destroyed. Every form he's built, every trace of his presence on the net, we have to act now. And not one of us can do it without the others. Maybe I am a monster. I don't think I'd know if I were one. I'm not what you are, and not what you intended. So there may be no way to make you trust me,” he says. He picks up Mjolnir, giving it to Thor and leaving the rest of us stunned. “But we need to go.”
“Right,” Thor says, taking the Hammer. “Well done,” he pats Tony on the back.
Steve accepts the turn of events and so do I. “Three minutes. Get what you need.”
I arm up, opening the weapons chest in the armoury that I brought with me. I slot pistols and knives in my holsters and wrap a whip up my arm. I make my way to the quinjet and input the coordinates.
Wanda and Pietro are first on the jet.
“I’m glad you both decided to help us,” I say.
“We didn’t know Ultron planned to destroy everything when we joined him. I’m sorry for what I did to your team.”
“You’re going to have to tell them that.”
Wanda nods. “You’re right… I’m glad you weren’t there.”
I frown at her words but can’t follow up as everyone starts to pile in. I close the ramp and put on the headphones as Cap joins me in the cockpit.
“You ready?” I ask him.
“Ready Freddie,” he smiles as he says me words back to me.
“You don’t even know what that means,” I tease.
“I will.”
“Alright everyone,” I address the team through the jet’s intercom. “We are taking off; destination: Novi Grad, Sokovia. Mission: rescue civilians, defeat all Ultrons and save Nat.”

Chapter 8: Director Fury
Tumblr media
"Excuse me?"
"a daughter, furious keep up you're supposed to be fast".
Tony finally told Fury about his daughter, Alice, and he doesn't look to be taking it well. Tony was surprised to find out Fury or SHIELD had no clue about her he figured with the big file they had on him, they might have known but never said anything about Alice, apparently, that wasn't the case.
Alice stood off in the corner of the room as Fury began to yell at her father apparently, her being was very important information. Not being able to handle the yelling and feeling they were done with her, she slipped out.
"She's my daughter. Yes, I'm sure. I've been 100& sure since the day she was conceived. If you don't believe me, we can do some DNA test" Tony looked and sounded very confident she was his daughter.
"where has she been the whole time these last 17 years, How'd you hide her for so long?"
"that's classified" he'd find out later
"who's her mother"
"none of your business" he already guessed
"you going public with her?"
"hell no" maybe in a few months
"Why'd you hide her"
"that is none of your concern," he'd find out soon enough
"she was born before Iron Man, and you didn't have as many enemies back then, so you had to have a different reason to hide her"
"you don't need to know"
"it has nothing to do with Lilly she wasn't involved in anything... but you"
"GET OUT."Lilly was a sensitive topic and he knew it." I was nice the only reason I told you about her is because she's my main prior and will interfere with my work, that is all. Now you can get the hell out and stay away from my daughter."
Tony's outburst only made Fury more interested and think of on other possibilities and conclusions. Fury left without a word but Tony knew this was not the last of him "fuck".
-
"Director Fury what can I do for you?" professor X said as he rolled into his office Fury standing by the window.
"Alice Stark, you know about her. so she's a mutant then"
"or just a very important piece to the future. Director Fury, some things are just meant to be left alone. The answers will come to you in time," Professor X said as he rolled up next to Fury. This wasn't the first time they met each other to discuss an important event or people, or exchange information, they did this often. Professor X had higher clearance than anyone else in SHIELD, and he wasn't even an agent. Fury actually made many decisions with Professor X.
"I don't have time we have enemies everywhere on earth and up there. I need to be ready for every and anything. I need to know everything"
"no, you don't. The more you know the more difficult things become." Professor X knew this he had a school full of hormonal teens and could read all of their minds. He, unfortunately, knew everything he didn't want to.
Fury sigh "Things are already difficult Xavier," and it is true things were difficult, and it was increasing. Aliens falling from the sky, Gods walking amongst humans, 90-year-olds looking 20, super assistants, a school for the strange- excuse me- gifted students, and powerful rocks. God, Fury missed the days when it was just terrorists and spies then again, Fury lost his hair to just that. "everything is already so difficult".
-
"I told Fury about Alice," Tony said as everyone, except Alice who stayed in her room, gathered around for movie night. "what did he say, how did it go?" Natasha asked
"Um... He was shocked and asked a lot of questions he got mad when I wouldn't answer"
"I bet he was furious" Clint laughed at his own joke.
"I'm surprised he didn't know the file we have on you is pretty big," Natasha said, nodding at Stark. What the hell did they have on him?
Alice upon her bed looking at the ceiling. She was doing the same thing feeling the same thing just in a new place. "Jarvis?"
"yes, Ms. Stark"
"will I ever see outside" the blinds to the outside " I mean will I ever go outside, I want to feel like, smell like? ... Jarvis, can I go outside?"
Once again he hesitated, moments like this made her believe he had emotions "No ma' am.  You must stay inside ... for your safety."

The Bible Old Testament
2 Samuel
Chapter 15
1 And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him. 2 And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel. 3 And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee. 4 Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice! 5 And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him. 6 And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel. 7 And it came to pass after forty years, that Absalom said unto the king, I pray thee, let me go and pay my vow, which I have vowed unto the LORD, in Hebron. 8 For thy servant vowed a vow while I abode at Geshur in Syria, saying, If the LORD shall bring me again indeed to Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD. 9 And the king said unto him, Go in peace. So he arose, and went to Hebron. 10 But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, As soon as ye hear the sound of the trumpet, then ye shall say, Absalom reigneth in Hebron.
11 And with Absalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem, that were called; and they went in their simplicity, and they knew not any thing. 12 And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counsellor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom. 13 And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom. 14 And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword. 15 And the king's servants said unto the king, Behold, thy servants are ready to do whatsoever my lord the king shall appoint. 16 And the king went forth, and all his household after him. And the king left ten women, which were concubines, to keep the house. 17 And the king went forth, and all the people after him, and tarried in a place that was far off. 18 And all his servants passed on beside him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men which came after him from Gath, passed on before the king. 19 Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore goest thou also with us? return to thy place, and abide with the king: for thou art a stranger, and also an exile. 20 Whereas thou camest but yesterday, should I this day make thee go up and down with us? seeing I go whither I may, return thou, and take back thy brethren: mercy and truth be with thee. 21 And Ittai answered the king, and said, As the LORD liveth, and as my lord the king liveth, surely in what place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even there also will thy servant be. 22 And David said to Ittai, Go and pass over. And Ittai the Gittite passed over, and all his men, and all the little ones that were with him. 23 And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness. 24 And lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people had done passing out of the city. 25 And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and shew me both it, and his habitation: 26 But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him. 27 The king said also unto Zadok the priest, Art not thou a seer? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar. 28 See, I will tarry in the plain of the wilderness, until there come word from you to certify me. 29 Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem: and they tarried there. 30 And David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, and wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went barefoot: and all the people that was with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.
31 And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness. 32 And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the mount, where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head: 33 Unto whom David said, If thou passest on with me, then thou shalt be a burden unto me: 34 But if thou return to the city, and say unto Absalom, I will be thy servant, O king; as I have been thy father's servant hitherto, so will I now also be thy servant: then mayest thou for me defeat the counsel of Ahithophel. 35 And hast thou not there with thee Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, that what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king's house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests. 36 Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok's son, and Jonathan Abiathar's son; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye can hear. 37 So Hushai David's friend came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem.

Ether Chapter 6: 12-19. "The Promised Land."
Tumblr media
This second journey across the sea to the Promised Land explains how to restart America. We have to swim under the existing mess, and study the basic premises of religion and government and surface, ready to till.
There are Seven Days associated with this process of tilling. Recall Moses could not enter the Promised Land because of the failure of the spies. The spies were afraid of being caught when they were sent to spy on the Canaanites. Spies are the Faculties in search of plunder. If they are afraid to look, what will they actually find?
Spies are first mentioned in Vayeshev:
6 Now Joseph was governor over the land. He was the one who sold to all the people of the land. And Joseph's brothers came and bowed themselves before him with their faces to the ground. 7 Joseph saw his brothers and recognized them, but he treated them like strangers and spoke roughly to them. “Where do you come from?” he said. They said, “From the land of Canaan, to buy food.” 8 And Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. 9 And Joseph remembered the dreams that he had dreamed of them. And he said to them, “You are spies; you have come to see the nakedness of the land.” 10 They said to him, “No, my lord, your servants have come to buy food. 11 We are all sons of one man. We are honest men. Your servants have never been spies.”
To buy food is to study the Torah and consume what one learns. To find food in the Promised Land, however, one had to send spies because no one knew what they are looking for. So Moses could not lead the Israelites to it, they would have gotten lost or ambushed or taken prisoner by another nation of ideals once again.
The prophets that wrote the Book of Mormon were obviously more sophisticated and know exactly what to look for in order to find and dwell within the Promised Land which explains why the Book of Mormon mentions two trips. One is literary, one is literal:
12 And they did land upon the shore of the promised land. And when they had set their feet upon the shores of the promised land they bowed themselves down upon the face of the land, and did humble themselves before the Lord, and did shed tears of joy before the Lord, because of the multitude of his tender mercies over them.
13 And it came to pass that they went forth upon the face of the land, and began to till the earth.
14 And Jared had four sons; and they were called Jacom, and Gilgah, and Mahah, and Orihah.
15 And the brother of Jared also begat sons and daughters.
16 And the friends of Jared and his brother were in number about twenty and two souls; and they also begat sons and daughters before they came to the promised land; and therefore they began to be many.
17 And they were taught to walk humbly before the Lord; and they were also taught from on high.
18 And it came to pass that they began to spread upon the face of the land, and to multiply and to till the earth; and they did wax strong in the land.
19 And the brother of Jared began to be old, and saw that he must soon go down to the grave; wherefore he said unto Jared: Let us gather together our people that we may number them, that we may know of them what they will desire of us before we go down to our graves.
The Values in Gematria are:
v. 12: They landed upon the shore. Bereshit states God landed upon the Shore on Day 1. The Value in Gematria is 9956, טטהו‎, tethu, "the cell of theos." We cannot do what God can do. Humility before the might and knowledge of God is the beginning of the end of the darkeness enveloping this world. We are limited and need to understand what the limits are. We are testing the limits and they are testing us. This is an incorrect way to wage life on this planet.
v. 13: They began to till. The Value in Gematria is 4013, ד‎אֶפֶסאג‎, D'Afesag "to print." To till is to begin one's Jewish Conversion at age 13, or to print the Words of Moses on the mind. This is consistent with what happened on Day 2 when the darkness and the Light began to differentiate.
Without the Torah, what is savage and what is sentient do not separate. Mankind does not have any other means it can use early in life to help young persons learn how to be as ethical beings.
v. 14: And Jared had four sons; and they were called Jacom, and Gilgah, and Mahah, and Orihah. Jared is the Descendant. Our descendants are supposed to learn from us. We have apparently taught people how to be giant sloppy cunts. Even still tilling is an ongoing process and new people are being born and coming of age every day and the opportunity for a new world is not entirely gone.
The process for creating ancestors is described using the following terms:
Jacom=Upright, "provide for the knave."
Gilgah=explain the cycle
Mahah=protest (what is not Kosher)
Orihah=explain what is stable
This is preparation for the Fourth Day, which is the Big Day in the Torah as it means the Age of Reason has begun.
The Value in Gematria is 4030, ד‎אֶפֶסג אֶפֶס, "The Peak is Zero."
The Most High believes we have everything we need to be reasonable. The Torah and other faiths speak of a climb up, but really we stay right on the ground exactly where we are. This is also what the Mishnah says the blue sky is actually underfoot rather than overhead. Bereshit says one needs to attain to the sky before one can put the stars, the sun, the moon, etc. inside it, which leads to Day Four, Sentience:
v. 15: And the brother of Jared also begat sons and daughters. Brothers are uncles who embody the Attributes of accomplished Jews. Sentience means we feel, we develop the ability to empathize with the plights of others.
The next step is to learn how to participate and compete in society in a constructive productive manner. The Value in Gematria is 2315, בגא‎‎‎ה, "pride, haughtiness, boastfulness."
Day Four is also the time the ego emerges. The ego is insentient. All of us struggle on Day Four between the Self and the ego.
v. 16:  And the friends of Jared began to be many. To be a Jewish friend one reminds the world of its Jewish heritage. Jews are the longest lived, longest lasting original founders of civilization. We owe the Jew everything. From the Jew came Day 5, our intelligence and from thence came our diversity.
The Value in Gematria is 11034, יאאֶפֶסג‎ג‎, "I will top it off, yaepsgg. I will get old."
= We can't be religious for the rest of our lives. Jewish culture emphasizes what are called Shabbos and Shabbat, "the end of work, the beginning of the enjoyment of the fruits."
In the East we say "swami no enjoy the fruits." Jews are the opposite.
Day 5 represents the fruits of the actions of a culture that has overcome its ego and tilled the soil of civilization with the Attributes of the Sentient Self.
Chasing gay people and abortions around is not a sentient behavior. Leave people alone, give them everything they need to be happy and they will prosper.
v. 17-18: And they were taught and did wax in the land. The Value in Gematria 10482, אאֶפֶסדדב, ‎ ‎ ‎aafes dahab, "Somehow, understand what is forthcoming." For this mankind needs to learn how to multiply, or understand the Numbers in the Torah and their importance to the bedrock of human civilization, how to be more like God and then how to be fully humane.
v. Let us gather the people together and number them. The Value in Gematria is 14013, ידאֶפֶסאג, yadapesag, = the spies of Moses, sent to "Get to know the species and the times."
When we gather people together we persecute them, shoot them, starve or strain them. A few easily managed decisions made by the leaders of this world could fix this=Day 7, the Promised Land.
Every Jewish person is a Mishnah, a piece of the penultimate national Jewish experience. Each Jewish soul is a piece of the puzzle. As we perform the Torah we regress away from the mean of the individual towards a combined national experience, which we can say is the Mean of the Jewish Self. Once this happens, then we can all once again regress from the Mean. This is what is meant by "let us be fruitful and multiply". When successful it results in Mashiach, the 8th Day.
As in other eras which had their own conditions and reasons, humankind is depending on the success of the Jew to surpass the Seven Days and liberate mankind by the time of the Dawn of the 8th Day= to learn and teach the Torah properly to the rest of the human race.

Друга књига Мојсијева-Излазак-ГЛАВА 2
CHAPTER 2 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. 2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. 3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink. 4 And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him. 5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. 6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children. 7 Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee? 8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother. 9 And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it. 10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water. 11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren. 12 And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand. 13 And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow? 14 And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known. 15 Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well. 16 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock. 17 And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock. 18 And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day? 19 And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock. 20 And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread. 21 And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter. 22 And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land. 23 And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. 24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. 25 And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.

HIS NAME IS JESUS
In the first chapter of Matthew, an angel informed Joseph that the child Mary was carrying was “begotten of the Holy Spirit,” and he instructed him to name the child ‘Jesus’ - “Call his name Jesus, for HE WILL SAVE HIS PEOPLE FROM THEIR SINS.” This name pointed to the saving act of God for His people which he was about to reveal. In the Nazarene, the salvation promised to Israel and the nations had arrived.
The first verse of the Gospel of Matthew identified the child as the “son of Abraham.” This was more than one name among many on a genealogical chart. Not only was he the biological descendant of Abraham, but he also came TO FULFILL THE PROMISES MADE TO THE PATRIARCH, and Matthew’s Gospel demonstrates this in several ways - (Matthew 1:20-21).
For example, the announcement to Joseph is conceptually parallel to the prediction made to Abraham about his firstborn son by Sarah, which occurred when he was ninety-nine years old, and Sarah was ninety. Though not a virgin, she was well beyond childbearing age, making her pregnancy miraculous. Moreover, like the angel’s announcement to Joseph, Abraham received his son’s name by divine appointment:
(Genesis 17:19) – “And God said, Nay, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son; and YOU WILL CALL HIS NAME ISAAC, and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.”
Just as the angel announced his name to Joseph - “Jesus,” the one who “saves his people from sin” - God commanded Abraham to name his son “Isaac” since through him He established His covenant “for his seed after him.”
In the Hebrew Bible, the name ‘Jesus’ or ‘Joshua’ first appears in the Book of Exodus - “And Moses said to JOSHUA, choose for us men and go out, fight with Amalek.” His original name was ‘Hoshea,’ the “son of Nun,” one of the twelve spies sent by Moses to investigate the land of Canaan. Later, Moses changed it from ‘Hoshea’ to ‘Joshua,’ or more correctly, ‘Ye-hoshua’ - (Numbers 13:1-8, Exodus 17:9).
The name ‘Hoshea’ meant “salvation, deliverance, help.” It was derived from the Hebrew verb for “save, help, deliver,” yasha (Strong’s - #H3467). For example, “Thus Yahweh SAVED Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians” - (Exodus 14:30. Compare Deuteronomy 20:4).
By prefixing the first syllable of the Hebrew name of God or Yahweh to Hoshea, the name became Ye-hoshua. In several of the later books of the Hebrew Bible, the second syllable was dropped, and the name was contracted to Yeshua - (Nehemiah 8:17, Ezra 2:2).
