Okay! My honest opinion on "Miraculous World: Paris"?
Tumblr media
It was AMAZING!!!!
Lot's of action, some funny moments, very emotional and lots of tension!
One thing I especially love is how the Special wastes absolutely no time with getting straight into the action!
Something I hate about many movies is how they just waste so much time setting up the plot that by the time it finally gets to the good stuff, half the movie is already over!
The writers really have my respect for not doing that here! After the opening, they waste no time and immediately get straight to the actual plot!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another thing i really love about the special is the way they handled Shadybug and Claw Noir!
I kept saying that Shady and Claw have the potential to become the best Miraculous villains ever, even if they get redeemed, and as far as I'm concerned, i was totally right about that because these two are officially my favorite Miraculous villains!!! 🖤
[WARNING!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!]
For one, I love villains like Shadybug who are driven by a desire to not be hurt anymore!
I felt so bad for her when she cried while reading Marinette's diary! 😢
Tumblr media
And I found it so touching how she first acted cold and rude towards Sabine but quickly backtracked on her attitude, when Sabine continued to speak kindly to her!
It showed that Shadybug wished she'd have a loving mother like that and she'd actually be grateful for it!
Tumblr media
I am truly touched by how vurnerable she looked throughout that entire scene!
💔💔💔
🖤And I absolutely love how sassy and unhinged Claw Noir is!🖤
The guy freaking cataclysmed himself ON PURPOSE FOR NO APPEARANT REASON!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At least I can't think of a reason why he did that! And even while cataclysmed, he still managed to put up one heck of a fight throughout the entire special!!
And It's very interesting how his motivation is a lot like Monarch's, but at the same time not!
Claw Noir does want his mother back, but he seems more hurt by the fact that his father doesn't seem as upset as he is!
Although it's not that hard to read the signs that Shadyverse!Gabriel infact is impacted by his wife's death!
If I had to guess, it looks very much like Claw THOUGHT his father easily moved on and continued to focus on his work as a fashion designer and forgot about Emily, while what he was really doing was using the butterfly miraculous to create superheroes and trying to stop the Supreme, most likely to create a safe world for their son!
I also love how both Shady and Claw wear different masks to hide their sadness : Shadybug acts cold and unfeeling while Claw Noir is more outgoing and unhinged! Claw is basically that one character who is a little b*tch but is just too charismatic to hate!
[SPOILERS OVER]
There might've been a few things I had hoped to see in the special that weren't there, but that's okay because a lack of one or two good possible elements is still better than the presence of multiple bad elements — which mind you was NOT present in this special at all!
The show often has some moments that really made me cringe, but I couldn't find a SINGLE bad moment in this special!
[SPOILERS]
So the fact that we didn't get much personal father-son drama between Batterfly and Claw Noir (Which was justified since, contrary to what i assumed, they don't know each others secret identities) or the fact that neither CelesteCat's white suit and hair nore Claw Noir's giant Cataclysm triggered Ladybug's Chat Blanc PTSD (because we don't talk about this enough in Season 5) don't bother me much!
My worries about Ubiquity, despite being featured heavily in promotional material, barely appearing in the actual special (because she only had one appearence in all the trailers) were also put to rest! Even though Alya isn't Ubiqity for long at first, she still gets turned back into her a few times! Giving her enough screentime that I see no reason to get mad over her being promoted so much even though she doesn't actually stick around throughout the entire special!
[SPOILERS END]
Whoever says this show lost it's touch should definetly watch this!
Which is another little meta detail I really love in this special :
'Hope' is a central theme in the special, and it was so good that it also gave me hope that the show can return to it's former glory!
Despite a lot of controversy surrounding the show for quite a while now, this special proves that, just like Shadybug, Claw Noir and Batterfly's world, the show itself can also still be saved!

While I’m working on some stories, here are some random snippets from a few planned Miraculous projects~. They’re not in any particular order.
~}I{~
Kindness and Karma
}{
Malcom (Satan) growled in annoyance when he snapped out, "No! Your anger is the only thing that doesn't make any sense in this whole issue!"
Alya snapped back in anger, "What are you talking about?! How can me being angry NOT make any sense?!"
Malcom ran a hand through his hair when he stated, "Because there's no reason why You should be angry!" Before Alya could retort, the fiery redhead pointed at a surprised-looking Nino and then Kim when he snapped out, "They had a legitimate reason to be angry!" He waves his hands when he explains, "They gave you a specific deadline as to when they had to leave and wanted to leave no later than that! A deadline, that you agreed to! But you got mad at them for wanting to leave after keeping them at the event long after the deadline had passed! Their anger was in the right, while yours is just out of nowhere!" Malcom then pointed at a shocked Marinette when he stated, "Her anger is legitimate! She's fed up and upset with the majority of her supposed friends making plans and then bailing on her at the last minute when someone else gives them a call, yet you have been nothing but belligerent towards her!"
Karen (Ramiel) couldn't help but point out, "Mal is making a valid point." She shrugged her shoulders when she added, "While they are negative emotions, they are healthy responses to what has happened." She looked at the childhood friends when she stated, "So their emotions are normal for what happened." Karen then looked at the blogger when she said in a concerned tone, "You on the other hand... Seem to lash out at almost every interaction from what Mal and I have seen..."
Malcom folded his arms in annoyance when he scoffed out, "Which includes you leaping in my mouth when I asked legitimate questions."
Karen quickly corrected with a flat tone, "The phrase is "Jumping down your throat", Mal."
The fiery redhead huffed when he got out, "That too, Kare."
}{
Malcome and Karen glanced at each other in uncertainty before the one with the pink-tinted glasses stated in confusion as she semi-pointed her left index finger towards the group of girls, "Uhh, I'm not sure if it's because we're recent additions to this class or something, but I'm seeing a rather clear pattern to... Those indences."
Malcolm folded his arms when he stated in annoyance, "Agreed... It's making me wonder How is it that None of you noticed that it has been happening?" He scoffed before adding, “This also explains why Marinette has been acting the way she is.”
}{
Adrien: "Okay, can we agree that while it wasn't how we planned it..."
Marinette: "Yeah, no, it's got to be the weirdest way to find out someone's ID."
Plagg: "Well, at least it is a unique identity reveal. Hehe."
Tikki: "Not helping, Plagg..."
}{
Markov reviewed the data before asking, "Max, are you positive this is accurate?"
Max nodded when he stated, "It is. I quadruple-checked it..." He bit his lips when he said, "But if this is true..." Max looked at the screen again before he picked up his phone and dialled the number on the screen. Markov hovered as both listened to the dial tone.
The sound of someone picking up the other side of the line was heard. "Hello? Who's calling?" The voice of an adult man came over the phone.
Max took a deep breath before he said, "Umm, hello, is this Mr Antonio Rossi?"

Trip to Gotham
}{
Assassin’s Creed: … These new screen names oddly fit… Though I’m not sure about Alfred and Bastard’s…
Red Hoodlum: Demon Spawn, you better be talking about Blood and not me. Mine is literally my hero's name!
AcroBatz: Ah, right, Damian hasn’t met Jason Blood yet, so he wouldn’t know that ref.
RobinRed: I can tell you that it’s still going to be confusing having both Jasons in the same space… I’m surprised that Blood kept his cool in that situation.
Red Hoodlum: Really? Demon Spawn hasn’t met the Demon? I’m a little surprised.
Assassin’s Creed: Wait, so this Demon Knight screen name isn't Bastard? What are you two talking about? Who's this other Jason? And what does it have to do with a demon?
Sebastian: I just noticed the chat and read what had happened. Right now, all I have to say is…
Sebastian: Really, Master Bruce?
Demon Knight: Well, I agree with Bruce on that. You’re one hell of a butler.
Batdad: Exactly!
Sebastian: Hmm, touche.
AcroBatz: OH SHIT!
RobinRed: No! No! No! I don’t believe it!
Red Hoodlum: I did NOT read what I thought I read!
Kunoichi: ?
Assassin’s Creed: ?
Batdad: Is there something wrong with what we were talking about?
AcroBatz: Yeah! How the hell do you three fossils know about Anime?!
Sebastian: Master Dick, we are not fossils. We are merely older gentlemen.
Batdad: And we are allowed to indulge in Anime every once and a while.
Assassin’s Creed: Cass… Do you have any clue what they’re talking about?
Kunoichi: Nope. I was hoping you would…
Demon Kight: Back to the og topic… What was Cassandra texting about you Bat-Kids getting siblings?
Batdad: I was also going to ask that.
Kunoichi: 😏
}{
Alix was passing back and forth in front of the park bench Kim and Max were sitting at while Markov hovered above. The skater then got out in an annoyed tone, "I don't get it, why would Lila say something like that when it isn't true?" She paused as she looked at her friends when she stated, "We know the real reason why our class is going to Gotham, but if Lila claims to be "super close" to the Wyanes as she claims, she should've known that too."
Kim couldn't help but point out, "And know why it should be kept a secret until the Gala." He paused before he questioned, "But wouldn't that implication be worse if Lila is saying that she asked one of the Wyanes to have our class and Ms Mendeleiev's class go to Gotham?"
Max was feeling self-conscious when he got out, "Well, that can only mean one of two things... Either Lila is telling the truth and the reason we're going to Gotham is because she asked for it to happen... And the letter I got was a prank or... Lila is lying about both knowing the Waynes and being the reason behind the trip..."
Markov was quick to say, "Considering that the letter has the watermark and seal from the Wyane Company, I can conclude that it is 100% authentic." He held his claw in the air when he stated in a logical tone, "Therefore, Lila is lying about a major event."
Alix clicked her tongue before she said, "If that's true, then why make us think that?"
Kim shrugged when he suggested, "Attention? Because that's the only thing I can think of." He then had a thought before he placed a hand on his chin when he commented, "Wait, now that I think about it..."
}{
Adrien leans over and whispers to Chloe, "Uhh, do you have any idea what's going on here?"
Chloe whispers back, "No, I was kind of hoping you would."
Damian scoffs before he states in an annoyed tone, "They are not staying unless they can hold their own in a fight! I refuse to have any incompetent allies."
Cassandra: 😏
}{
Miss Bustier ran a hand through her hair when she got out in a flabbergasted tone, "I know I heard Marinette during roll call before we got on the bus! And our students can testify to that!"
Ms Mendeleiev placed a hand on her chin when she mused thoughtfully, "True, we Heard Ms Dupain-Cheng call out "I'm here!" at every roll call, but I can't recall actually Seeing her during roll call." She let out a thoughtful hum before she said, "Let's do something a little differently next roll call."
}I{
Smiling Agent
}{
With a smirk, she said, "Al'ight, Hawkmoth, I'll help you get those Miraculous. However, I'm doing things My way." With that, a black aura festered out of the Akumatized object and engulfed her.
}{
Marinette held up her hand in a 'hold-on there' manner when she got out, "Whao! Wait a second! I just talked to them regarding what kind of baked goods they would like and they told me a very different story."
Nino raised a brow when he asked, "How different are we talking?"
Marinette folded her arms when she stated, "That the type of items that Alya told me to make sure to have are things that two of them can't eat."
Ivan raised a brow in concern when he asked, "Wait, that... Doesn't make any sense." He moved his hands a bit when he added, "If they can't eat those flavours then they wouldn't ask for them."
Marinette narrowed her eyes when she stated, "Oh, they would have to ask about it alright, but only to make sure they aren't used at all." She held back a growl when she nearly hissed out, "Especially since one of them is severely allergic to one of the items!”
"Wait?! WHAT!!!?"
That was when Marinette asked in a serious tone, "So this is where I have to ask, who told you about their "favourite flavours"? Because from my point of view, someone thought it would be funny to put someone in the hospital, or worse."
}{
"Listen, I'm not bein' hypocritical or rude, but given that I can tell that Adrianne is not comfo’table when that Storyteller latches onto 'er at every interaction I've seen... It's kind of bad. So how the hell could all but a few of you NOT see that?"
"I'm a little more concerned about why Adrianne hasn't said or told anyone about the unwanted attention if it's that bad?"
"Or at least told her to stop or set up some boundaries."
}{
With that, he smiled.
}I{
Sin of Reveal
}{
Jason Blood smirked when he replied to the mental terrorist, "Oh, so you were after her! Guess that technically makes you a paedophile."
Hawkmoth: "WHAT?! No! I'm nothing of the sort!! I simply know that Ms Duapin-Cheng will be my greatest Akuma and will get me the Miraculous of the Back Cat and Ladybug!"
Jason let out a hum as he looked over the Akumatized item he used to catch the Akuma when he said almost casually, "So, that's what you've been waiting for, huh. I must say, you seem to have quite a lot of time to just sit around and wait for people to get emotionally distressed, especially teenagers, so I can't help but think that you don't have much of an active life."
Marinette couldn't help but be in awe at what she was witnessing. This man was... Taunting Hawkmoth... While he was in the middle of being possessed by the terrorist!
The rest of Miss Bustier's class came rushing over, also baffled and confused about what was going on as Marinette.
Jason kept that smirk with a short chuckle when he said, "Sorry, but I'm going to have to decline. I'm trying to avoid being involved with the Miraculous, and besides... Three's a crowd."
}{
Satan got all flustered and nervous when he got out, "Oh! My dear sister! It's good to see you!" He did his best to recover his composer when he asked, "But why are you here?"
}{
"SIr Raguel, we've got a bit of a problem."
}{
"Adrien, boyo, yah're allowed ta want answer ta questions yah had fur a good while, even if yah no longer have a connection ta tha source of it."
}{
Raguel tilts his head to the side when he asks, "Lord Satan, are you sure that you have the part of Young Adrien's soul that was agreed upon?"
Satan raises a brow at this as he shifts the box he is holding and says, "Of course I'm sure, I extracted it myself. You can ask the witnesses listed if you want to confirm." He paused before he asked the Angel of Justice, "Why do you think that I didn't have any part of Adrien's soul?"
Raguel replied in a slightly confused tone, "Because the aura coming from that box doesn't match Young Adrien."
Satan blinked in confusion when he asked, "I know it's Adrien's but... Why are you getting a different sense? And how does it feel?"
Raguel states in a calm tone, “I am not sure as to why it feels different from Young Adrien.” He then nods his head to Amelie when he adds, "But the bond you have in the box feels near-identical to that woman over there."
}I{
Inconsistency
}{
Marinette raised a brow at the question when she asked, "Why do you want to know that?"
Everyone flashed back to when Jazz kissed Officer Prowl on the lips before their final battle but knew they couldn't tell Marinette that that was the reason why they were asking.
Thankfully, Sabrina explained to the bluette, "Well, Mr Jazz did seem pretty affectionate towards Officer Prowl when we first met him, so I guess we couldn't help but wonder."
'Thank you, Sabrina!' the Miraculous Heroes thought with glee, now having a legitimate reason to be asking that question.
Marinette had an expression that read 'good point' before she finally said, "Oh, they're married to each other. In both the Magical aspects and the human way."
}{
Nino was waving his free hand frantically when he almost shouted into the phone, "Uncle Al! Calm down! I can't understand you when you're talking that fast! What happened?"
}{
Lila smirked when she said to herself, "I was right, this does look perfect on me~."
}{
Jazz tapped the surface of the wood when he asked Gabriel Agreste, "Given that there was a time gap between when her symptoms started and when she went inta tha coma... How come yah never brought her ta any hospital or even called an ambulance?" He waved his other hand when he added, "All this could've been avoided if yah did either."
}{
D hung up the phone and looked around at his work.
Everything was perfect.
}{
Officer Prowl looked up worriedly at Jazz as he clutched his niece close to his chest and then said in an anxious tone, "Don't make me arrest you."
"Don't worry, it an't gunna happen," Jazz stated coldly.

Miraculous AU - Chapter 24 - Hangout
Beginning || Previous || Next
Marinette sat on a bench in a nearby park. She sketched as she sat in the warm afternoon sun. A slight breeze chilled her, a reminder that fall was around the corner. She shook off the chill and returned to her sketches.
            “Marinette!” Alya called.
Marinette looked up as Louve landed in front of her.
            “Fang, let’s rest.”
Fang appeared from the bracelet and transformed Louve back.
            “Are you nuts?” Marinette hissed.
Alya took a seat next to Marinette. “What?”
“You shouldn’t be transforming in broad daylight like that. Think of how many people saw you.”
“What’s the point after the hospital though?”
“But you’re putting yourself in danger if people know.”
“You know, you lecture me, but at least I took the extra minute to look just a little different, so it wasn’t so painfully obvious who I was.”
Marinette crossed her arms and grumbled.
Alya smiled. “Anyways, where is everyone? Or are we fashionably early?”
            “Aren’t we always?”
            “Perfect! Let’s talk.”
            “About?”
            “A little kitty.”
“No. I don’t want to talk about him.”
“C’mon! It’s been a week since you guys had that little heart-to-heart. How’ve you been feeling? Anything changed? Any new feelings?”
“Why are you pushing this? It’s just a silly little crush.”
Alya rolled her eyes. “I know better than that, girl. C’mon, there’s no one else around. No other friends, no other girls, and no Chat. You can be honest with me and our kwamis.”
Marinette sighed and ran her hands through her hair. “Alya, I’m scared of what I’m feeling. I’m scared of what could come. If I try to pursue a relationship with Chat, could I even be capable of that? I mean, after the madness with Adrien a few years ago, I’m afraid I’ll be just like that. I don’t know how to actually love someone in that way. Not like you do.”
Alya smiled and scooted closer. She took one of Marinette’s hands into hers. “Mari, there’s no difference. Love is love, and I know you know this. Just treat him like you would anyone else. Love him as you would anyone else. That’s all.”
“If I do, what do I do about me? What if he only loves the other me and not this me?”
            “Is there really a difference?”
Marinette blinked. “Fair point. But what about the same about him? What if I only love Chat and not whoever he actually is.”
“To be fair, Chat feels like the real him. If I had to compare Chat to his civilian identity, Chat feels more like a person than the boy he’s supposed to be.”
“I just don’t know. What if this is a mistake? What if we ruin everything by dating? Love is selfless, but it’s also selfish.”
“Girl, relax. If we worry about all the ‘what ifs’ we’ll miss out on the present. Just take a page from Alix’s book. Live life in the moment.”
“Are you sure it’s not a page from your book too?”
“Maybe, but my point stands. Don’t worry about what could happen too much. You can still consider the possibilities, but don’t let them completely stop you. You like him a lot, don’t you?”
            Marinette blushed. “Maybe.”
“Then maybe you should give it a go?”
“But what about Chat? We both said we needed more time, and I don’t know if he needs more time.”
“Then talk to him. He’ll be by today for the friend hangout.”
“But I’m Marinette not.” Marinette paused and sighed. “He knows?”
            Alya smirked.
“I really messed up with my alter ego, didn’t I?”
“I wouldn’t say that. It’s just obvious to people who know you well enough. Or people with an actual brain.”
            “Marinette! Alya!” Nathaniel called.
Alya snickered. “Speaking of someone without a brain.”
Marinette growled and jabbed her elbow into Alya’s side. They turned as Nathaniel ran up to them with Marc right behind him. Past them at the entrance, Juleka arrived with Luka in tow.
“Early as always, aren’t you?” Nathaniel teased.
“Fashionably. How’ve you guys been?” Marinette asked.
“Pretty good. Better now getting to hang out with everyone,” Nathaniel said.
Marc joined them. “Yeah. It’s been a weird year so far, hasn’t it? How are you guys handling the online classes?”
            Alya shrugged.
“They’re ok. It’s strange, but not completely terrible,” Marinette answered.
Juleka joined them. “They’d be better if not for my shadow.”
            “Shadow?” Marc asked.
“Has he gotten worse?” Alya asked.
Juleka crossed her arms. “You’ve no idea.”
Mullo popped out from behind Juleka. “It’s awful! We can’t go anywhere without him lurking nearby. And he keeps throwing away all my snacks.”
Marc squeaked and jumped back. “What is that?”
Mullo turned to Marc. “I’m a kwami. Anyway, call if you need us.” She vanished.
            “What’s a kwami?” Nathaniel asked.
“Don’t worry about it,” Juleka muttered.
Alya smirked and stood. “Well, I’m glad you asked. They are what allow the heroes of Paris to transform. Observe. Fang, let’s hunt!”
Fang materialized and disappeared into the bracelet as Alya transformed. Nathaniel and Marc’s jaws dropped when they saw Alya as Louve. Juleka and Marinette sighed and facepalmed.
“Pretty cool, right? Fang, let’s rest.”
Fang reappeared and Louve transformed back. Fang vanished once again.
Marc stepped forward. “Alya, do you think I could ask you some questions and take notes?”
“Sure. The rest of you are going to draw, right?”
“Yeah. Juleka offered to model for us, so Nathaniel and I are gonna get some drawing practice in. Want to sit by the fountain, Nathaniel?”
“Sure. Wherever you want is fine by me.”
Marinette moved so Marc could sit on the bench with Alya. Marinette took a seat at the base of the fountain. Nathaniel joined and sat near Marinette. Luka settled opposite of them as he kept an eye on Juleka. Luka took out the guitar he brought and strummed it while he listened to music. Juleka sighed and stood a few feet from Nathaniel and Marinette. Juleka took several deep breaths before she struck a shy, small pose. Marinette gave Juleka a thumbs up, then started to sketch.
~~
Kagami sat on a nearby bench. She sketched the park scenery and ignored the people that mingled about. She smiled at the flawless imperfections of nature that created a natural, disorderly kind of beauty. She looked at her drawing and up at the world. All around her, there were people going about their day, enjoying the cool, sunny day. She looked down at her drawing. She considered adding in some people, give it a little more life. She raised her pencil but reconsidered. The drawing was perfect as is and she didn’t want to ruin it with those type of imperfections.
Kagami turned to a new page. She started a light sketch when the bench shook. A heavy, dark streak marred the page. Rage flared within her as she turned to whatever messed her up. She saw a boy in a cat-themed superhero outfit pounce from the bench towards a group of teens around the fountain. Her rage subsided as she held her sketchbook close to her. He was gorgeous. Wild and untamed. She stood and sat on the fountain opposite the group. She listened as she snuck glances at the cat boy.
“Chat! I’m glad you could make it!” Marinette said. She stood and hugged Chat.
Chat returned the hug. “Thanks for the invite, Marinette. Well, you and Alya.”
Nathaniel frowned and stood. “So, who is this, Marinette?”
Alya threw a paper ball at Nathaniel. “Calm down, Nathaniel. It’s only one of Paris’ defenders. They’re friends.”
Marinette stepped away and faced Alya. “Alya, please stop.”
            “I haven’t done anything, yet.”
Marinette frowned. “That’s what concerns me.”
Chat turned to Nathaniel. “Pleasure to meet you. I’m Chat Noir.”
Nathaniel grunted, then sat back down.
Chat turned to Marinette. “Is everything ok with him?”
“Oh, don’t mind him. He gets this way for some reason.”
Alya exchanged glances with Marc. Juleka sighed and facepalmed at the remark. Luka rolled his eyes.
“I see. So, what are you guys all up to?” Chat asked.
“Nathaniel and I are drawing while Juleka models for us. Marc is interviewing Alya ‘cause she can’t keep being a superhero under the table. And Luka is playing the guitar.”
            “What’re you modeling, Juleka?”
“Just practice, for me and them. Maybe you’d like to join me? They could use some practice with the male form,” Juleka pointed out.
            “I don’t need-,” Nathaniel started.
“That’d be perfect! Oh, if you want to, Chat.”
“Of course. I’m the purr-fect model.”
            Marinette playfully nudged Chat. “Awful.”
Chat grinned and nudged Marinette back. “Always.”
Juleka stood between them. “If you two are done flirting, I’m going to steal him away.”
Marinette and Chat blushed. Marinette retreated to the base of the fountain while Chat joined Juleka. He modeled along with Juleka and gave her pointers and tips.
Kagami hummed. She considered asking to join their group, well at least the artists. She wanted to get a better look at the cat boy that wasn’t just stolen glances. She turned to the pages in her sketchbook of her failed attempts at drawing people. She sneered at them but kept a thumb on the page. She stood and approached Marinette.
“Pardon my intrusion, but I wanted to ask if I could join you. I overhead that your friends were modeling for you guys and wanted to join in the drawing practice.”
“Of course! The more the merrier, right?” Marinette looked to Nathaniel.
            Nathaniel sighed. “I suppose.”
Marinette stood. “I’m Marinette. What’s your name?”
            “Kagami Tsurugi. May I?”
Marinette nodded and sat beside Kagami. “So, what do you like to draw?”
Kagami flipped to her drawings of nature and showed them off.
Marinette gasped. “These are beautiful! The details, the environments, it’s amazing.”
Kagami nodded and turned to a new page. She attempted to draw Chat, but it turned out disproportionate and horribly imperfect.
“A little advice. It usually helps me if I start with the line of action, the basic skeleton, and then break down the body into its basic shapes to get a feel for the individual’s body structure.”
            “How do you mean?”
Marinette scooted closer and sketched out Chat. She started with a single line, then a stickman skeletal base, then filled in the skeleton with basic squares, rectangles, and circles. From there, she further refined the skeleton to better resemble the model near perfectly. Kagami followed Marinette’s instructions and the sketch looked better. It wasn’t like Marinette’s, but it was better than the first few attempts.
“You usually draw people, don’t you?”
            “Sure do. Take a look.”
Kagami looked through Marinette’s sketchbook. They weren’t images of nature, but countless different fashion designs that ranged from simple to fantastical. The models were exaggerated for a few designs, but most were true to life.
“How do you come up with these designs?”
“I don’t know. They just come to me, and I draw them.”
            “That’s incredible.”
            “Oh, it’s not that incredible.”
“But it is. I know I could never do something like this.”
“Don’t say that. I’m sure if-.”
“I know I can’t. I can draw what I see, but I can’t just come up with stuff like this.”
“Oh. Do you want to? Maybe I could help?”
“No. I’m not that imaginative, but I enjoy what I draw. Mother nature is all the inspiration I need.”
“Could you draw something now? I’d love to see you draw.”
            “That’s weird.”
Marinette giggled. “Sorry. I just don’t know many people who can draw like you. It’s so realistic and picture perfect.”
            “I don’t know what I would draw.”
“How about this scene here with everyone here?”
“As in draw nature and people?”
“Yeah! If you want to. It’d the perfect practice, no?””
Kagami smiled. She turned to a new page and drew the scene in front of her.
Alya watched everyone. Marinette watched Kagami draw while she gave Kagami more tips how to draw people. Nathaniel stole glances at Marinette while occasionally glaring at Chat. Chat seemed unaware of Nathaniel as he helped Juleka with her modeling. Juleka kept her attention on Chat but took moments to look at Luka. Luka played his guitar but kept looking over at Juleka and Chat. Even at this distance, Alya could see the concern in Luka’s face, and the disdain.
“Alya? Is everything ok?” Marc asked.
            “Hmm? Oh, yes. Just observing.”
“Anything interesting?” Marc held his pen, ready to take more notes.
“Does Nathaniel seem more, what’s the best word, lovesick?”
Marc’s shoulders slumped. “Oh, yeah. It’s more obvious than usual, isn’t it?”
“Just a touch. Has there been any drastic change?”
“Well, he’s been more fixated on Marinette lately. It’s made it difficult to talk to him about anything that isn’t about her. Just these past few days he’s done nothing but talk about her since we set a day to hang out.”
Alya grimaced. “That’s concerning. Wasn’t he getting over his crush on her?”
“Not really. He said he would but then wouldn’t. Now, I don’t know.”
“Have you tried talking to him?”
“A few times, but he refuses to listen to me. Says I’m just jealous of Marinette and shuts me out.”
Alya smirked and scooted closer. “Marc, is there something you haven’t told me?”
“What? No. There’s nothing to tell.”
“So, you don’t love Nathaniel?” Alya whispered.
Marc’s face turned red. “Well… I… uh-.” He frowned and hid behind his notebook. He took a moment to collect himself before he turned to Alya. “Look, it’s not like that. I just… appreciate him. Besides, he’d never like me like that. At least, I don’t think he would.”
            “Oh. I’m sorry.”
            Marc looked away. “It’s whatever.”
Alya put a hand on Marc’s shoulder. “I don’t believe that. What’s wrong?”
Marc sighed. He slumped into a ball as he pulled his knees up to him. He placed his head on his knees and looked at her. “You won’t tell anyone, will you?” His voice hushed.
“Don’t worry. I know when to keep my mouth shut.” Alya glanced at Chat. He looked back at her with a small smile. She nodded and looked back at Marc. “So, what’s up?”
“I’m just… tired, I guess? I’ve wanted to date, but I don’t have the best of luck, y’know? Most of the guys I fall for are, well, y’know. And I try to keep going and hope for the best, but it can be difficult. Especially with-.”
            “Juleka! My Queen!” Rose yelled.
Everyone looked up as Rose as Lapine landed on Juleka. Chat moved and caught Juleka before she hit the ground. Lapine hugged Juleka tight and nuzzled her. Chat steadied Juleka on her feet, then moved away.
“Rose, sweetie, please be easier when you’re transformed and I’m not,” Juleka said.
Lapine looked up. “Oops! I’m sorry. I didn’t hurt you, did I?”
Juleka smiled and hugged Lapine. “You never could, my Princess.”
            Lapine kissed Juleka.
Marc sighed and buried his head in his knees. “There it is.”
Alya hummed. She could offer advice to Marc, but it might ring a bit hollow if it came from her. She looked at Rose and considered. Maybe she could have Rose talk to Marc. Perhaps even Chat too. She wasn’t sure if it was the best idea to let the romantic fill either of their heads with silly ideas of love, but Rose may be the best option.
“What if Alya and I go get the snacks?” Juleka offered.
Alya blinked and looked at Juleka. She shot Alya a knowing look and nod.
“But don’t you want me to go with you?” Lapine asked.
Alya joined them. “Of course, but we think you could help out with some people with their love lives.”
Lapine’s face brightened. “Really? Who needs my help?”
Juelka and Alya turned to Chat.
Chat’s eyes widened. He took a step back and held his hands up. “I don’t know what you mean.”
Juleka stepped closer. “You can’t fool perception and intuition, Chat.”
Alya put an arm around Juleka. “What she said.”
Lapine hopped over Alya and Juleka and stared up at Chat. “You’re in love, Chat? Who is it? Have you told them? Do you need help? I can help. What do you say?”
Chat grimaced, then chuckled nervously. He stepped back, but Lapine bounced forward and lifted him up.
“You’re not escaping that easy, Kitten.”
Alya and Juleka shared a smile as they approached Lapine.
“You should also help Marc and Nathaniel,” Alya whispered.
            “And Luka too,” Juleka added.
Lapine grinned and bounced. “Just leave it all to me! I’ll teach these boys about romance. They’ll be masters by the time I’m done.”
Alya gave a thumbs up. “Fang, let’s hunt.”
Fang materialized and transformed Alya into Louve. Louve scooped up Juleka and ran. Luka stood and moved to follow, but Lapine pulled him back.
            “Let go!”
“Nope! You get to stay here, with me. We’re going to have a little lesson.”
            “Lesson? On what?”
Lapine smiled. She placed Luka next to Nathaniel and Chat beside Marinette. She ushered Marc over and sat him between Chat and Luka. Marinette and Kagami paused as they watched the scene.
“What is going on?” Marinette asked.
“I’m going to give these boys a lesson on romance.”
Marinette opened her mouth, then shut it and pursed her lips.
Kagami raised a brow. “Are they even capable of romance? They are boys.”
Marinette laughed at the remark. Chat growled, his cat ears pinned back, and his tail twitched. Marc shrunk back and pulled his knees to his chest. Luka ignored the statement. Nathaniel frowned and grumbled.
“I apologize as I don’t know your name, but that was rude,” Lapine chastised.
“C’mon, Lapine, it wasn’t that mean. I’m sure Kagami was just joking.”
            “No, I wasn’t.”
“Alright. Well, Lapine, why don’t you let me help you?” Marinette offered.
            “You’d help me? Really?”
“Why would you want to?” Kagami asked.
Marinette smirked. “Because it sounds like fun.”
Marinette stood and danced around Lapine. She knelt before Lapine and held out a hand. “My lady, would you do me the honor of allowing me to lead you through this dance?”
Lapine grinned and took Marinette’s hand. “Dearest knight, I accept your invitation. But we must keep this rendezvous a secret lest my darling Queen shouldn’t hear of it.”
Marinette and Lapine giggled. Marinette stood and lead Lapine through a dance. “Where should we begin, Princess?”
Lapine hummed. “Let’s see. Love is quick and fast. It can hit you in a moment’s notice. Like a bolt of lightning or being set ablaze.”
“Don’t forget, Princess, true love takes time. You want the love of your dreams, you must put in the work and the time. Only then can you make it last.”
“Of course, Knight. Only with the time and work can it become the perfect love of your dreams. Free of strife and heartache. Nothing but happily ever after.”
“Not true, Princess. The truest of loves require conflict. You will fight and hurt one another, but that doesn’t mean you have lost love. For each fight will make your love stronger.”
“But, if a pair do nothing but fight, then it wasn’t meant to be. Is that not so?”
“You have a point. You shouldn’t always be in conflict with your partner. If it comes to that, then happily ever after wasn’t meant for you.”
“Yes and no. Love can weather any storm, can it not, Knight? Surely love can withstand any conflict?”
“Only if both are willing to put in the work. Tell me, Princess, is it fair if only one ever puts in the work?”
“No, of course not. Love is the ultimate partnership. The purest connection between two people.”
“Correct. It is warm and cold. Selfless and selfish. It is everything and nothing all at the same time. A perfect balance.”
Lapine took Marinette’s hands in her own and spun them around. “Love is breathtaking.”
            “Inviting.”
            “Bold.”
            “Warm.”
            “Marvelous.”
            “Terrifying.”
            “Comfort.”
            “Dangerous.”
Lapine squeezed Marinette’s hands and stopped spinning them. “Love is fantastical.”
Marinette smirked and knelt before Lapine. She bowed her head as she brought Lapine’s hand near her forehead. “Love is real.”
Lapine squealed and tackled Marinette in a hug. “That was a lot of fun! We should do that again sometime.” She stood and faced the boys. “Well, what did you guys think?”
Marinette sat up and looked at the boys. Chat looked at her and Lapine with wide, curious eyes. It was faint, but she could hear a slight purr that she assumed came from him. Marc wrote in his notebook. Luka’s eyes were shut as he played his guitar. Nathaniel blushed while he focused on his sketchbook. She chanced a glance at Kagami and saw her drawing.
Lapine huffed. “Was Chat the only one that paid attention?”
Marc raised his hand. “I did too.”
“Excellent! Did you have any questions?”
            “Uh, how would you, y’know?”
Lapine tilted her head. “No, I don’t.”
Marc moved his arms from his lips outward a few times. His face flushed and he covered it with his hands.
            “I don’t understand.”
“I think he means to say it to someone, right?”
Marc peeked through his fingers and nodded.
“Oh! That’s easy. You must be bold and daring. Only when you take those chances can you hope to achieve-!”
“Happily ever after!” the boy declared.
The boy sighed and closed his book. He hugged it and his stuffed dragon. He moved to his bookcase. He put it away and browsed his selection for a new fairytale. He pulled a book when he heard a loud crash. He dropped the book, grabbed his dragon, and ran for his closet.
In a room near the boy’s room, he heard yelling. Violent, angry words and noises so close. He gritted his teeth and covered his ears. He wanted it to end. The yelling, the fighting, the hurt, everything. He wanted things to be like how they were in his shows and books.
A voice whispered: “I can help you, if you wish.”
The boy clung to his dragon. “How?” he whimpered.
“I can give you the power to make everything a wonderful dream, a fairytale. Transform the city into your kingdom with magic, knights, and royalty.”
The boy blinked. “You can do that?”
            “Absolutely.”
            “May I have that ability?”
“Of course. No child should have to live as you do. It’s only fair for you to escape this horrible reality. Just be careful of the order of animal knights. They will do anything to chain you back to reality. And you don’t want that, do you?”
“Please, no. I want to be happy.”
“Rest easy, boy. Your happily ever after is on its way.”

How Lukadrien confessed when Chloe took matters into her own hands
@etherealxgenie I’m your secret santa for the @lukadrienvault gift exchange! I decided since it was at the forefront of my mind to do a Yu-Gi-Oh! au fic for our favourite King of Games and CEO. I added in a few of my own headcannons into this for the au, so I hope you enjoy! Happy Holidays!
Chloe took Adrien in, watching as he flicked through paperwork, seamlessly checking his laptop. Nathalie would no doubt be back in a few minutes, ready to answer anything Adrien had questions on.
“Where’s Rose?” she asked, glancing at the framed photo Adrien had of the two. From the background, she guessed it was on his jet, though Adrien seemed to always gain new ways of transportation, so who knew?
“With Juleka.” He answered, pulling something up on his laptop.
She thought of the girl with purple hair, the one Adrien shelled over a massive chunk of money so she could have a surgery. Adrien would constantly say he got paid back when the bank finally put Luka’s winnings from Duelist Kingdom in his account, but still. For the longest time, she was sure the only person who could pull Adrien from his CEO wall was Rose. She and Nathalie would get lucky at times but Gabriel got his claws into Adrien, keeping him a certain way. Then this blue haired duelist who seemed to switch personalities at the drop of a hat appeared and someone break down Adrien’s walls.
“When are you gonna ask him out?”
That got a reaction, pulling him from his work and looking at her. She didn’t know why he was surprised. She’d joined in a few of their adventures in understanding the simple looking jewellery that usually had a spirit connected to them and she wasn’t blind. Adrien was sweet on Luka and he was the same on Adrien. When he got genuinely angry when her scathing remarks were starting to rub Luka the wrong way, it was so obvious. He never cared much before, telling her to relax and continue later, but he actually yelled at her then. Rose had gotten mad too which meant Luka was really important to them.
“C-Chloe!”
“What? I’m not wrong, am I? I’m sure Plagg agrees with me.” The spirit in the ring didn’t take Adrien over since being released with his God Card, but she knew she was right. “Seems like blueberry likes you, so what’s stopping you?”
Nathalie came in and Adrien quickly ended the conversation, focusing on his assistant.
“Adrien, we still need to talk about the release party for this Duel Disk. You mentioned you wanted to hint at the rideable duelling arenas, this would be the best time, especially since we’re nearly done with the prototype.”
Adrien groaned, flopping back in his seat so hard, the white trench coat he wore fell to the floor. “Parties mean dates. No date means beating off investors’ daughters all evening. And doing that all evening means I’ll be in a bad mood which leads to a crap party and me all over tabloids. Can’t I just do a press release?”
“Just because we were busy with finding the God Cards, causing the spirts to be released fully from the items, your dad and Felix and the insanity that was Alya and Lila doesn’t mean you shouldn’t celebrate an amazing achievement. How is Felix by the way? Will he make an appearance at the party?” Chloe asked, mostly cause the party would make Adrien squirm.
“He’s fine, and no. He’s still got to regain strength in his body after having his mind stuck in a computer for years.”
“She’s right Adrien. The release was overshadowed by Battle City and everything else. It would do well to have this event, help increase our footprint as you will, with all the unpleasantness left over thanks to the Rare Card Hunters.”
“And if you bring a date, you won’t have to worry about investors. Mostly.” Chloe happily added in.
Adrien glanced between them both and groaned. “Fine. Nathalie, you’re in charge. I just want to go in, give a speech and disappear. I’d rather until we get info on competitors if they’re close to guessing our next venture so I know if they plan to try their hand.”
“Very well. Will I be inviting the usual list?”
“Please.”
“How about the group? I’m sure they could do with an excuse to celebrate as well.”
Adrien glanced at Chloe, like she was going to say something about what she’d brought up before. she just smirked at him, watching him silently squirm before he let out an annoyed huff.
“Yeah, you can invite the others too.”
                                                    ___________
Luka jumped when the door to his part time job burst open. A curse was on his lips when he saw Chloe standing in the doorway, looking as queen like as ever.
‘Odd,’ Sass said, floating over his shoulder and annoyingly missing the apron Luka had to wear while working. He copied everything else Luka wore, but not the apron. ‘This is the last place I thought she’d be.’
He couldn’t disagree with the spirit. Chloe worked for Adrien, as well as being his oldest friend and she took her job as a duelist very seriously, since she was sponsored by the Agreste Corp. She tended to rub him the wrong way a lot of the times with the way she acted but he was sure if Adrien acted like an egotistical tyrant to those who upset him, Chloe would take a bit of getting used too.
She walked in, her judgement of the place obvious, even from behind those big sunglasses of hers.
“Chloe. Can I help you? We have new Booster packs.” He was sure Adrien got her whatever cards she wanted, but he had zero clue as to why she’d be here. Adrien was taking school off for a week to catch up work things, Rose and Juleka were hanging out, Ali somehow nudging his way in and the others were doing things, enjoying the quite while it lasted.
“This place is pathetic.”
“You can leave.” He reminded, trying not to get angry. He was tempted to switch and let Sass deal with her. He was a former prince from what they figured out, he delt with annoying ladies.
‘I don’t think many women had a place in high society work. Though Chloe would probably have no issue. Also, I have a feeling she’d just order me to switch back.’
Chloe pushed her sunglasses up and was now digging in her purse before she slapped something on the glass counter and stood there, haughty as ever. “What’s this?”
“I’m playing messenger to all your dumb friends and dropping off your invites to the launch party for the Duel Disk.”
“But…” he glanced at where his Duel Disk was sticking out from his bag, half covered by his jacket.
“Yes, but it’s original launch was overshadowed by Battle City, which he did put together for you and your ghost friend. So, we’re doing it now. You’d better be there.”
He picked up the invite, looking at his name in cursive, the fact that it was also addressed to Sass. He’d never really stepped into Adrien’s world of glitz and glamor, the CEO more than willing to live the life of hanging out at arcades and being normal. The virtual world was more than enough of an insight to how Adrien lived before Sass broke him in a way that he needed to rebuild.
“Also, it’ll look really tacky if you don’t give him a present or something. Everyone’s going to do that, so try not to look like a hopeless mess.”
“Thanks, anything else?” he asked, glaring at the blonde, who pulled his glasses down.
“Nope. And don’t be late!” just as suddenly as she appeared, Chloe was gone, leaving Luka with an invite and bit of anxiety. Did he have a suit for this event? And what the heck did you get for a guy who had access to anything he wanted?
‘Perhaps we can get advice from your mother? And maybe ask your father for a suit?’
“Right, like Adrien is going to like me in anything the guy who kidnapped his sister puts me in.”
‘Maybe this is one of those times we dip into your winnings?’
Fair. Now what to do about Adrien’s present?
                                           _________________
“You look so pretty!” Chloe watched Rose bounce away from her brother, the tulle of her pink dress following after her. The off the shoulder and massive puffed sleeves was a direct contrast to Juleka’s purple dress, corseted tight to her body with the black lace halter. “you look amazing!”
“So do you. Ali must be losing his mind.”
Chloe rolled her eyes, hearing Rose giggle. Watching the two flirt would have been more entertaining if Juleka was actually jealous of how Ali, creator of the Dungeon Dice Monster, felt towards the CEO’s sister. Instead, they were practically in a polyamorous relationship.
Boring.
She did brighten up at the sight of Luka. Of course, he didn’t wear a standard black and white suit, opting for a black and silver mix, leaving his jacket open to show off the jacquard design of the waistcoat. Not bad for someone usually dressed in leather. She glanced at Adrien to see him staring at Luka, completely ignoring what the man he’d been talking to was saying, at least until Nathalie secretly poked him to refocus. She approached the King of Games, knowing her flowing white gown with soft flowers wouldn’t get him to relax. As much as she wanted her best friend to finally admit how he felt about a certain duelist, it was fun to wind Luka up. If he could put up with her, then he’d stick with Adrien through everything.
“Well, don’t you look nice. Didn’t think you owned anything other than leather.” Luka just side-eyed her, radiating annoyance. “I don’t see a gift.”
“I have one. Will you back off?”
“And not make you question your own sanity? Where’s the fun in that?”
She decided to actually back off when he rolled his eyes and she saw him fingering the jade bracelet around his wrist. She wondered if Sass was calling for her head or trying to calm Luka down.
“Juleka, Luka. you two look amazing.” Adrien was finally free of the conversation and walked over, his fake CEO smile replaced by a real one.
“So do you. Most guys can’t pull off a white suit, but you look good.” Juleka replied.
Adrien laughed, rubbing at the back of his neck. “You think so? Rose here thought I wouldn’t let my usually jacket go.”
“It looks good when you’re throwing cards like knives at Rare Card Hunters. Not in every aspect of your life. You’ve got the weirdest wardrobe ever.” Rose commented.
“Thanks. I’ll remember this when you ask for something. Anyway, the others arrived not too long ago. Nino has commandeered a waiter with hor d’ourves, so they’re most likely still there. I have to make my speech soon.”
“Oh, before that, here.” Juleka handed Adrien the bouquet of yellow roses, pulling out the only red one and giving it to Rose. “Congratulations on the Duel Disk release.”
“That’s so sweet, thank you.” Adrien said, sniffing the flowers.
“And this is from me.” Luka pulled out a small jewellery box, which Adrien zeroed in on.
“Oh, Luka, you didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to.”
Of course, before Luka could either open it, or hand it to him, an investor with a young girl – daughter no doubt – appeared and interrupted them.
“Mr. Agreste. I was hoping to introduce my daughter Fiona. She’s an exceptional duelist, best in her school. She wanted to apologise for not attending Battle City.”
“Uh, right. Of course.” And back in place as that fake smile. “If you’ll excuse me. Rose.” Leaving without taking the box from Luka, the two blondes slid back into the crowd leaving them alone.
She smacked Luka’s arm hard, nearly making him drop the box.
“Ow! What’s that for?”
“Try harder!” she stormed off, leaving the other pair of siblings alone. She put the ideas in their heads, she wasn’t going to let this night end without having the two fess up on how they felt.
The party continued, Adrien always talking to some snooty person about the business, or to Rose or Nathalie, barely going over to where his friends were. They were making quite a bit of noise as they got one waiter to bring them food over and over. Thankfully, she noticed Luka wasn’t pushing everything under the rug, watching Adrien from across the room. Of course, Adrien was accosted every few feet with a person and their daughter, one brave soul offering their son. Rose did her best to distract by inviting everyone to dance before the big speech, but she only lasted about two and a half dances before like the ball scene from the Cinderella movie 1997, with the prince dancing with every lady, switching every 2 seconds to get it over with. She just needed to get a Cinderella in there.
                                        _______________________
Luka was about to take some shrimp appetizer from the tray being offered when he was yanked away and dragged towards where the dancing was happening.
“Chloe, what the hell?”
“Shut up, and go dance with him.” She said, shoving him to where Adrien was, cutting off the girl who was about to step up to him.
“Um, uh. Care to dance?” Luka asked the CEO
“Excuse me!”
“Sure, I’d love to.” Adrien grabbed his hands and pulled him further to the middle of the dance floor. “Thank you.” he said, putting one hand on his shoulder, allowing Luka to put his free hand on Adrien’s waist.
“Of course, though Chloe helped I guess.”
“Yeah. She’s been a bit much since returning from the Shadow Realm. She’s trying to work through her time there and she’s taken a break from duelling, so she’s finding entertainment elsewhere. Don’t tell her this, but I wish I’d taken her advice for this party.”
“Oh?”
Adrien looked embarrassed, not a look Luka was used to seeing when he had to be CEO. “she told me if I had a date to the event, which I didn’t want to do because of this same issue, I wouldn’t have to deal with people throwing their daughters at me.”
“I think I saw a son in there.” Luka laughed to himself when Adrien glared at him. It was thankfully not his Agreste glare so he knew he was safe. “I’m sorry you’re dealing with all this. I wish you could come over and hang out with us.”
“I want to, but I’ve avoided any sort of big event like this since before Duelist Kingdom. I’ve changed and Nathalie said it would help bolster our image, especially since with everything the Rare Card Hunters caused, intentionally or not.”
“Yeah, causing a death via a duel probably doesn’t paint you in a good light.”
“Hey, in my defence, they had our friends hostage. Summoning Chaos God: Plagg was the only choice I had.”
“I’m not mad. Trust me, thank you for doing that. Hey.” He stopped Adrien and dug the box out of his jacket pocket. “Before I forget, I wanted to give this to you.”
Adrien smiled down at the box, just putting his fingers on it when Nathalie appeared.
“Adrien, it’s time for your speech.”
“2 minutes.”
“Now.” She ordered.
Adrien groaned and pushed the box back towards Luka. “Hold on to this for a little while longer?”
“Sure.”
Watching Adrien slip off into the crowd towards the stairs that lead to the party, Sass was the one who had to get his attention when Chloe reappeared, another smack to his arm.
“Now what?”
“Could you move any slower?”
He stared at her in confusion as she stormed off, grabbing another glass of champagne. “What the hell is her problem?”
‘It’s almost as if she’s trying to have something happen, but it’s not. Something to do with you and Adrien?’
He looked at the box and over to where Chloe stood, glaring at him. He didn’t want to think that she knew but honestly, what proof did he have that she didn’t?
                                   __________________________
“The old design hadn’t hit the shelves and had many issues, causing constraints and even making the holograms an issue to use. My hope is with newer models of the Duel Disk that the holographic input won’t need an external source to be seen. The magic of Duel Arenas is seeing your monsters come to life and that shouldn’t just be limited to a building. Duels are used all over to settle scores and understand a person and while doing it on a table opposite each other does allow for a bond to foster, you really get to know a person seeing them put their whole body into it. It’s my hope that these Duel Disks allow you to show the world the type of duelist you are. Thank you.”
Chloe swirled the little bit of champagne she still had in her glass. She was reaching tipsy and her entertainment was reaching levels of annoyance. She hoped it would have been dealt with early and then she could watch the two stumble over themselves all evening. But nope, here she was watching them get snatched away from each other over and over. It was annoying.
“You’ve been glaring at Adrien all evening.” Marinette said. “Is everything ok? Did you get into an argument? Is this about the Shadow Realm?”
“No, it’s not.” She snapped, but thinking about that place was something she’d rather not, at least not until her next therapy session. “Just, annoyed someone isn’t saying something. I wouldn’t be at this lame party otherwise.”
“I’m glad you are. Really, it makes me happy to see you up and your usual self.”
She scoffed, getting what Marinette meant. “Trust me, I don’t plan on going back ever. Did Tikki ever send anyone there?”
“I don’t think so. Her memory is a bit fuzzy too and she can’t control me like Sass does Luka sometimes. She seems too nice to though. So, who isn’t speaking? Maybe we can help them out.”
“Blueberry and Adrien. I wake up and those two are more attached than normal. I didn’t think nearly getting killed by a crazed protector of the tomb did that.”
Marinette watched Luka who was still in the crowd listening to Adrien’s speech. “I think it was during the time Felix took us to the Virtual World. We saw a lot of what Adrien and Rose went through and when Adrien went up against Felix and his dad, Luka was there for him. He tried to act like it didn’t bother him but Rose was targeted and you know how he gets when she’s in trouble.”
“Ok, fine. So why make me suffer watching those two still figure things out?”
Marinette shrugged. “Maybe after it all it’s hard to think they can have it. I mean, there’s always another shoe dropping.”
“Screw that. I’m fixing this now.”
“You’re taking this a bit seriously.” Marinette said, stopping Chloe before she could go storming through the crowd. “They’re dealing with a lot.”
“So why not deal with it together? when I was stuck in the Shadow Realm, the only thought I had was that I had people I knew were fighting for me. The only reason I haven’t gone insane is knowing I have you losers to trust and depend on. Oh, don’t give me that look,” Chloe said, narrowing her eyes at the surprised look on pigtailed duelist, “like you and your friends aren’t always spouting that.”
“I just didn’t think you’d listen.”
“I’m not an idiot. I actually listen to good advice.” She said before gliding through the crowd, grabbing Luka’s arm as she passed. Once the photographers were done taking pictures of Adrien and Rose, she quickly moved passed the crowd of people and dragged Adrien off the stairs and pushed them to one of the balconies, shoving them both outside and stood guard at the doors. When she saw the annoyed looks on people’s face, she raised an eyebrow and pulled her signature monsters from the pocket in her dress. “Try it, I dare you. I’d be more than willing to prove why they call me the Stinging Beauty.”
Meanwhile, the two duelists stood in the cool quiet.
“Well, I guess I should thank her for helping me avoid that crowd.” Adrien said.
“Yeah.” Luka said, still thinking about what he was sure was Chloe knew. “Hey. I really want to give this to you tonight, so here.”
Adrien took the jewellery box and opened it. sitting there was a hand drawn card. It wasn’t like the one Rose drew for him all those years. This one was drawn by someone with years of skill. It was the card Black Snake, the Fusion card of his Chat Noir and Luka’s Viperion. It had honestly been either luck or Jagged’s hand that the card was created and its only copy given to Luka. the two had used it during their tag duel against the Rare Card Hunters. It had given Adrien enough time to get what he needed to summon Chaos God: Plagg and win them the duel.
“Luka, did you draw this? I thought you said you didn’t draw much anymore.”
“I don’t, but Chloe was insistent I give you a gift to congratulate you. I didn’t know what to give you, I mean, you have access to whatever you want. With everything you had to deal with during Battle City, I wanted to remind I’m here whenever you need, so I drew that for you.”
“It’s perfect. Thank you.” Adrien said, Luka’s favourite smile growing as he gently picked up the card. “I…I need to tell you something. Something that Chloe was also pretty insistent on. dealing with my father, having to relive some of the worst times of my life, all while dealing with people who wanted me dead, having you there meant a lot. It would have been a lot harder to ready myself for the semi-finals if you hadn’t stayed with me. You always seem to know how to keep me going, even if I’m pushing against you. you’ve never given up on me and when you have so few people who won’t give up on you, it means a lot when your one of the people who stay. But it’s more than that. I guess what I’m trying to say is…Luka, I like you. more than just the friend you’ve been. And I know I shouldn’t force you to answer now, but I do have to stay for the rest of the party and I kinda need to know if I need to put my CEO face on.”
Luka honestly hated the CEO face. He didn’t like it when it had been directed at him before he got past Adrien’s walls and helped save his sister, as much as it helped when Adrien used it on others, he hated seeing him become that cold person again. So, he did the one thing he could think of to make sure Adrien never had that face around him. He stepped forward, took Adrien’s face in his hands and pressed their lips together. One of Adrien’s hands just brushed his when the door to the balcony swung open, Chloe yelling.
“I said wait, you brat!”
“Adrien, Nathalie is – oh!” Rose went as pink as he dress before backing away. “Never mind, I’ll take care of it.”
The two looked at each other and started to laugh. “Um, I hope that answered your question.”
“It did. As much as I’d like to continue, I try not to have Rose deal with press to keep her safe so I need to…but, tomorrow, what are you doing?”
“Nothing really. I’m not working and I think Juleka mentioned something about helping Ali with something.”
“Cool. Tomorrow, I’ll take you out.”
“Ok, deal.” Luka said, sharing a smile with Adrien, who tucked the box, card and all, into his suit jacket and headed for the door, still smiling at him over his shoulder.
‘So. That was fun.’ Sass teased. ‘Maybe you should just keep me in your pocket so you can’t hear my commentary tomorrow?’
“Shut up.” He left the balcony and was once against assaulted by Chloe. “Oh my god, what? I gave Adrien his gift and I know you were pushing for more and it did happen. What now?”
“Relax, I was just telling you good job. Now, break his heart and I’ll destroy you before he does. Or worse, I’ll leave you to Rose. She’d got some rather dark ideas for a girl who’s favourite animals are unicorns.” She walked away, leaving Luka and his spirit staring.
‘She’s very strange.’
“Yeah, but I guess I should be thankful.” Luka said, looking at where Adrien was speaking to the press.
Luka knew that there were more things waiting around the corner in their quest for answers but right now, he felt like things were going to be ok.

Day 18 - Bridge (Ladybug/Chat Noir)
(So far this story has played out in four parts (with this one being number four). Find the rest of the parts here: Part One | Part Two | Part Three )
Marinette: meet me at the Ponts des Arts at 11:00, please.
A wave of relief for washed over Adrien as he read the text message for the hundredth time. Marinette wasn't mad at him. At least one part of his life was hopefully returning to normal.
To say things had been stressful over the past week would be an understatement of epic proportions. When Ladybug had fled from him after his accidental identity reveal, he had turned to other best friend. Marinette always knew how to make him feel better. Except this time, apparently Marinette was having a break down at the exact same moment he was. He tried to help, but she'd ignored all his texts and calls. When none of that worked and none of their other friends or her parents had heard from her, he showed up at her apartment door hoping to help. Once again, she didn't respond. At least by the sounds of movement within the apartment he knew she was alive.
When Alya returned from her trip, Marinette started speaking to her friends again. To everyone except him. No matter how hard he wracked his brain, he couldn't figure out what he'd done to cause Marinette to give him the silent treatment. It must have been awful. Despite Alya's reassurances that it had nothing to do with him, he was certain he deserved it. Not only had he lost Ladybug, it looked like he was going to lose Marinette as well.
Until today. Until her text message blipped onto his screen, inviting him to the bridge.
Adrien stood on the south side of the Seine. Pedestrians crossed the bridge on their way from one side of the city to the other. People gathered on the benches to talk or look out over the river. The bridge wasn't as crowded as it had been in the days couples marked their love by leaving a padlock along the grated railings. It was still a beautiful view of the river and the city, even if it was very different from his usual perspective along rooftops of Paris. He had a feeling that whatever Marinette wanted to tell him, it wouldn't be bad news. If she wanted to yell at him, she probably wouldn't have chosen such a public location.
Despite the crowd, Adrien immediately spotted Marinette. She walked along the side of the bridge. Her fingers trailed along the railing. Occasionally, she would pause at a lamp post when a particular lock caught her attention and she'd study the message etched into the surface.
About halfway across the bridge, Marinette stopped and turned towards the river. She no longer wore her hair bound in pigtails, instead she wore it loose with a pink headband holding it out of her eyes. The sun illuminated her at the right angle to cast a warm, honeyed glow over her. The wind picked up and caught the ends of her long hair causing them to obscure her face from his view. The whole effect lent her an ethereal beauty. He longed to capture the moment on film, but he'd left his camera at home.
Borrowing a bit of Chat Noir's confidence, Adrien started across the bridge. Apparently Marinette was so lost in thought she didn't notice his arrival until he stood next to her. “Hi.”
“Adrien! I didn't see you.” Though she took a startled step back, she didn't trip over her own feet. Instinctively, he reached out and touched her elbow to help restore her balance.
“Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.”
“Oh no.” Her eyes widened and she shook her head. She looked ready to bolt or start jumbling her words. Instead she took a deep breath. “I was lost in thought.”
“Is it about what was bothering you over the weekend?” He rested his elbows along the railing and stared down into the water. Her fluster seemed to calm when he wasn't looking directly at her.
“Sort of. It was a lot to take in and I kind of panicked.” He wasn't certain when she'd moved. The sides of their arms touched and she rested her head against his shoulder. “I saw your messages and I'm sorry I didn't answer. I didn't mean to worry you, I just needed some time to think things through. It was a lot to take in.”
Adrien nodded along as though he knew what she was talking about, although he didn't have a clue. It almost felt like he was talking to Ladybug instead of Marinette. Which was ridiculous. Since their encounter at the conservatory, he hadn't talked to Ladybug either. He'd only seen her at a distance while they fought akuma. At least Marinette appeared to be feeling better after her week of contemplation. He wish he could say the same thing for himself.
“Adrien?”
Shaking off the malaise haunting him, he offered Marinette a comforting smile. “I'm glad you're doing better now.”
She started to speak, but stopped before uttering a word. Instead she stared out at the horizon and he joined her in the silent contemplation. Time ticked slowly, with the beating of the hearts and the rhythm of their breaths. He enjoyed spending quiet moments like this with her.
For a few minutes, he was able to silence the voice in the back of his head which insisted that the fact his world was falling apart was all his fault. He didn't want to go there. “Was that why you wanted to meet me here?”
“What? No.” Marinette scrambled upright. Her hand reflexively clutched around the strap of her purse. “I wanted to tell you something. And, it's something better to say in person. 'Cause you know. You're a person, I'm a person....people talk.”
“Breathe.” Adrien waited as she calmed down.
A half dozen deep breaths later, she could speak calmly again. “I have something for you.”
“Oh?” He hadn't expected that.
“I know we can’t….” With the a vague, encompassing wave of her hand, she gestured at the bridge.
Breathing slowly, Adrien tried to calm his thoughts. Why would Marinette even imply that? Their relationship wasn't the kind which anyone would consider leaving a lock at the Ponts des Arts as an appropriate gesture. Had he woken in an alternate dimension? Had he been hit on the head? An akuma attack? A dream?
Without skipping a beat, Marinette dipped her hand into her purse and withdrew an object small enough to hide in her clenched fist. Bridging the gap between them, she cupped both her hands around his. She pressed a small, metallic block against his palm and held it there while she continued. “But, I wanted you to have this. I wanted you to know.” She hesitated for only a moment before allowing a familiar confidence to settle over her. “Adrien, I feel the same way about you. “
With that, she let go of his hand, leaving the object behind in his grasp. In stunned silence, he watched as she proceeded across the bridge to the far side of the river. His brain whirred as he tried to grasp what she was saying. It sounded like she was responding to a love confession. But, he’d never confessed to her. Only Ladybug.
Slowly he uncurled his fingers one by one. In his palm laid a padlock. The metal had been stained red. Red with black spots
Red with black spots.
Like a Lucky Charm.
Ladybug's Lucky Charm.
Ladybug.
He’d confessed to…
“Marinette!” He called as he ran the rest of the way across the bridge.
Though she’d already reached the other side, she paused the moment he called her name. Panting, he reached her side, the lock now clenched in his fist. He looked into her eyes. Her blue eyes. Eyes twice familiar. The eyes that he loved.
“Do you mean it.”
“Yes, chaton,” she said softly, an endearment meant for his ears only. She cupped his cheek and he had to resist the urge to nuzzle her hand. “Je t’aime. I've always loved you. As her, and as myself, my feelings have always been the same. I just…I just didn’t see straight.”
“You're really you aren’t you?” He didn’t dare speak her alter ego’s name, but she knew exactly what he meant. She always knew.
“Yes. I am sorry I ran away from you. I was scared.”
“Are you still scared?” He took a step closer and rested his forehead against hers. His hands rested on her hips. “No. Not anymore.” She laced her hands around the back of his neck and drew her fave towards his. In the space of a breath, Marinette—his lady—kissed him.

Graveyard Siblings (6)
Class revenge. And mention of suicide.
[Masterlist]
(Part 1)(Part 5)
------
Normal class day and most of the class was still together. This is set after the class’s trip to Gotham.
Alix and Chloe had transferred to another class or a different school. There were a few new students but they transferred out within a week, when they all had tried to point out Lila’s lies and the class picked on them on Lila’s behalf.
Class is still taught by Mme. Bustier.
She rolled-calls and somehow Marinette’s name was on there and she just absentmindedly read it.
“Marinette Dupain-Cheng”
“Present.” A cheery voice said.
Goes to the next name before everyone froze and looked at the source of the voice which was where they exiled Marinette to before her ‘suicide’.
There she was. An older-looking Marinette who would look the same age as them as if she was still alive, her longer hair was in a high ponytail and her clothes were switched out from her usual pink to red and black and had a more mature look that was stylish instead of cute.
She wore her signature bright grin but the sight of it brought chills down everyone’s spines.
Lila thought that it was her curse kicking in and since she hadn't seen Marinette until then, fainted on the spot, thinking she was finally going to be killed.
“M-ma-marinette. What are you doing here?”
“What do you mean?” Older Marinette said with a confused face. “Oh. You mean why am I not late? First time for everything, I guess. I am not late today so Yay for me.” She giggles but everyone else thinks that it sounds terrifying.
“But this is impossible. You simply can’t be here.” Max said, “Odds of you still alive are zero.”
“Can’t I? I mean I woke up early and got here on time. What is impossible about me being early? I would normally be a zombie during the morning, Max but nice one.”
Some students checked their phones for akumas. Hawkmoth had mysteriously disappeared around Marinette’s death making a few rumours about Marinette being Hawkmoth floating around. (Lila was the first to suggest that as a theory.)
Mme Bustier cleared her throat, terrified out of her mind and scared that if she provoked the ‘ghost’ of her former star student, there would be consequences like the horror movies. But she was not going to let it hurt any of her students.
“Marinette, there must have been a misunderstanding. You should be home.”
“Why?’
“Because um...you are... you are sick and you don’t want to infect your fellow classmates, right?”
“Hm..I feel fine but now that you mention it, I feel a little dizzy. I think I am going to take the day off.”
The rest of the class murmured in agreement, scared not to offend the ‘ghost’. A few of the girls like Mylene had tears running down their cheeks. Horror movies logic dictates that you should not remind the ghost that they are dead or make them angry.
Juleka was half-scared out of her mind for Rose who was also crying and herself and also half-excited, even though Marinette might be a vengeful ghost, there is still a ghost in their classroom.
Mme Bustier started muttering prayers under her breath.
Marinette packed up her things and was out of her seat when Adrien came into the class.
He was held up because he started sneezing non-stop this morning. Turns out Natalie had some black feathers on her.
He sees Marinette in the back row.
“Ma-Marinette! How are you here?!” to which everyone in the class sans Lila who was still passed out, shushed at him.
Ignoring them, he blurted out, “You are dead.”
The word echoed through the classroom. It was silent for a moment and you could hear a pin drop.
“Dead? What do you mean dead?” Marinette took a step down the stairs, the perfect picture of confusion but her eyes seemed a little crazed and Adrien took a step back, the word ‘Traitor’ carved into his back started burning.
Everyone in their seats shifted slightly away from her. Some considered making a run for the door but they didn’t want to draw attention and face the ghost’s wrath. They all mimed at Adrien to stop.
He ignored them again. “Don’t pretend you are innocent. You did this to me. YOU MADE ME LOSE EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING. YOU SHOULD HAVE STAYED DEAD. I DON’T REGRET KILLING YOU FOR THE HORRIBLE PERSON YOU ARE, LADYBUG. YOU DESERVED TO DIE FOR WHAT YOU DID.”
Realizing what he said, he covered his mouth, hoping it would somehow fix the damage he had done.
Marinette smirked. The picture of innocence gone.
It took a moment for what Adrien’s outburst meant to register in their heads.
Adrien, in an attempt to get back into their good graces, had once claimed to be Chat Noir, the ‘hero’ of Paris. They had brushed him off. If what he had said was correct then that meant that they drove Marinette who was Ladybug to kill herself. Horrible realization sets in as it meant that Hawkmoth won.
Lila chose that moment to came back to the land of the living to scream bloody murder once she saw Marinette again.
The scream brought everyone out of their trance from their shock and started screaming or yelling.
The windows slammed open and the wind whipped. The doors of the classroom closed shut with a loud bang. The clouds were dark outside and there were some flashes of lighting and thunder. (Thank you Longg.)
Marinette’s hair was undone and whipped around her. Her eyes were glowing blue. As she started laughing at the chaos she had unleashed, the class and Mme Bustier ducked for cover and hid under their desks. Except for Adrien and Lila.
Lila, fueled by anger, pounced at the ravenette but was thrown against the classroom wall before she even had a chance to lay a hand. Fell down and appeared to be knocked out. Alya made a move to check up on her.
Adrien was thrown back against the floor when the strong winds started. The scars on his back were burning with a lot of intensity now and it was a miracle that he still hasn’t passed out from the pain.
Unknown to him, the words were glowing red and seen through his shirt. Mme Bustier, Nino, Sabrina and Nathaniel were the few that saw the bright red letters spelling out ‘TRAITOR’ on Adrien’s back as he got back up.
“Marinette, this isn’t you. Milady, please.”
“Shut up.” She flicked her wrist, sending Adrien against the teacher’s desk. He hit it hard and was knocked out like Lila.
Alya after making sure that Lila was fine. “Marinette, stop this. I know that you are probably mad at Adrien for killing you but we never did anything to you.”
“Never did anything?! Never did anything? Hah. What about the time that you slapped me in the face in front of the entire school and said our friendship was over? You called me names. You said that I deserve every bruise you gave me. The rest of you weren’t any better.” She turned around and with the flick of her wrist, the heavy desks were in the air, robbing anyone of a hiding place.
“You stood by and allowed it to happen. You destroyed my stuff, claiming I deserve it. My sketchbook, filled with commissions, torn and stepped on like trash. You all crossed a line that Chloe didn’t even dare and you call it the right thing to do. Hypocrites all of you. Some of you have known me since l'école primaire. What was it about me that you believed her over me?! ”
What happened next was all a blur to everyone, there was a lot of screaming involved, some blood, lightning and thunder everywhere and then, black.
Nino opened his eyes to see Alya peacefully sleeping on her desk. What happened?...Oh Crap I fell asleep. The last thing I remember was….MARINETTE!
Nino snapped his head up. And saw the rest of the class and Mme. Bustier asleep in their respective places.
But there was a sense of wrongness. Something was off... and he can’t pinpoint on what.
The bell rang, startling everyone awake. Nino checked the time. And crap did they all sleep through the first period?! Turning towards his now-awake girlfriend, “Hey Alya, Alya, what do you remember?”
He was surprised to see red eyes like she had been crying. “I- I- I had the weirdest dream. Marinette was there, like she never died and she… why are you looking at me like that?”
“Don’t freak out but I don’t think it was a dream.”
On the rooftop, above the classroom, a red clad figure lounged at the edge with her airpods in and chuckling to herself.
-----
Marinette didn’t torture them. Scared the hell out of them, sure but it was harmless. Mostly. She left carved words on everyone’s wrists which no one else but the class can see. (This one is more mental than anything.)
The scars are unique depending on how close they were to Marinette before she died. Most of the class had the word ‘friend’ crossed out. FRIEND
Nino and Kim had Childhood friends. It serves as a painful reminder of how long they had known the girl.
Alya was a special case with BEST FRIEND and ‘A good reporter always checks her sources’ underneath it. She remembers saying those words to Marinette a long time ago, back when she thought she knew Marinette.
Mme Busitier had Best Teacher and when she was in the comfort of her own home, saw ‘Bully Enabler’ on her other wrist.
Adrien and Lila were questioned as they weren’t the only ones with scars on their wrists. (Although Lila had LIAR written in big letters across her forehead with a sharpie and a drawn-on-moustache of a cartoon villain.)
Nino managed to get the class to back off on Adrien and later to pull him aside to explain about the scars on his back and why did Ladybug (who was apparently Marinette this whole time and she was dead... he thinks.) called him ‘Traitor’?
Adrien told Nino everything. The curse didn’t interfere so for the first time in months, Adrien was able to say the truth.
-----
That was also the day that Lila’s reign finally ended.
The class had suspected for a while about her lies and false promises. There were a few inconsistencies in the beginning that were overlooked and brushed off as Lila’s memory problems.
They all had for the first two years had defended Lila against anyone (mainly Marinette) who thought she was a liar. Lila herself made sure that her lies were believable, actually putting in research for once in her life and planting evidence here and there about her achievements with a few faked articles. They staunchly believed her lies until Marinette’s death.
With her main enemy finally down and everyone else who opposed her, lost their morale along with their ally, Lila stopped putting in the efforts to make her lies seem real and then the cracks of her kingdom began forming.
At first, the students of Mme Bustier class believed them but the stories soon seemed like bragging but they were too polite to point it out to their ‘nice’ and ‘shy’ classmates.
Lila began making mistakes from her lack of research and a few of them later pointed out the few inconsistencies but they were brushed off as memory lapses.
More and more of these ‘memory lapses’ happened more often and soon, most of the class had their suspicion of Lila.
They were just in denial of Lila lying to them.
A few like Max, Nathaniel, Juleka and Sabrina who finally find out that Lila was lying and confront her about it were threatened and they were too afraid to do anything.
After all, Marinette had tried to disprove them and look where she is now. Six feet under.
And the ‘ghost attack’ from Marinette was the final straw.
The class tried to help Lila get rid of the sharpie, especially the one on her forehead and Alya made a comment how it was so typical of Marinette despite being dead and some half-heartedly agreeing.
Max, frustrated that his friends still can’t see it that Lila is a liar and they were the ones who drove Marinette to death that she is now haunting them and it was all their fault, took out his detailed research to disprove Lila’s lies. Nathaniel, Sabrina and Juleka spoke up and brought out their own research. The seeds of doubts which had been planted the past years were finally sprouting
A while later, the entire class was in chaos, everyone was shouting at Lila, some of them were shouting at Adrien, Alya being in complete denial and Mme. Bustier trying to maintain the peace.
Unknown to them, the camera in the classroom was being live streamed to a screen in a room in Le Grand Paris, complete with audio as a group of teenagers watched the chaos unfold.
“You know.” Chloe said, “I thought it was hilarious when you went all bloody mary on them but this shit is way more entertaining.”
Maria smiled, satisfaction on her face as she snatched some popcorn from Alix. “Oh, I had fun. Took years but Lila is finally getting what is coming to her. In about an hour, Signora Rossi is going to come through the door with the police.”
“What did you do, M?”
“Let’s just say the Italian Embassy and the French Police got an anonymous tip this morning about Lila Rossi and the incidents following her around the schools she had attended in the past couple of years.”
“No..” Alix gasped.
Maria just smirked.
-----
Gabriel was freaking out when Adrien came home and told him about what happened to his class.
He did not need another ghost attack on top of everything else.
First, Afterlife had managed to steal some (read: a lot) of Gabriel’s investors and Gabriel’s shares were plummeting.
Secondly, there were a few important documents leaked onto the internet, showing a few suspicious purchases which had the brand and himself under scrutiny.
Third, Natalie told him about her recent condition which occurs during the night and raised a few suspicious glances from Emilie when there was a raven in the house while Gabriel wanted to see proof of this transformation.
Lastly, Emilie had been poking around about the years she was in her coma and it was sheer luck that she hadn't found out about Hawkmoth and connected the dots.
He called up John again to complain that it didn’t work and asked for a refund or face a lawsuit. John pointed out that the spell only worked in the house and kept ghosts out of it and other places were free game.
Needless to say, Gabriel pulled Adrien out of school to be homeschooled again and made sure Emilie stayed inside, no matter what.
The longer Natalie stayed as a raven, the whiter Gabriel’s head of hair became and he was beginning to lose hair at a very fast rate.

Caught in My Chest 2/2
Marinette looked around her classroom taking her seat in the back and no one even gave her a second glance except Adrien.
"Marinette, since you missed so much class I can help you after school today if you feel up for it," Lila said sweetly before fake wincing. "Or maybe not my port has been acting up lately," Lila said crocodile tears coming to her eyes.
"Port?" Marinette asked and Alya glared at her from the front of the classroom. "Wouldn't that mean you have..." Marinette started holding her right arm where her piccline was.
"Go on Marinette ask her!" Alya yelled holding Lila close.
"But that's, I just..." Marinette started. "I was just discharged from the hospital with Hodgkin's Lymphoma," Marinette finally said and all faces turned toward her.
Never before had Marinette seen the class so mad at her all because of a lie. How Lila had gotten a hold of this information was unexplainable but the fact that she would turn it around was unspeakable. "I can't believe you would say you have cancer just to try and show up Lila Marinette! You know she was recently diagnosed!" Marinette's breath was caught in her chest and she felt like she could never breathe again. Adrien stood up red faced and shaking.
"You're all idiots! Lila has been playing you since day one and the only reason why I haven't said anything is because I didn't have any proof," Adrien said and Marinette looked at her former crush in shock. "If any of you even bothered to do some research you'd know what a monster she is." Lila looked at Adrien angrily.
"What do you mean proof?" Lila asked trying to keep up her hurt persona.
"Medical records," Adrien said slapping them down on the table. "Also the fact that Marinette here has been in a healthy relationship with Damian Wayne for almost a year now and the fact that he is paying for her treatment and housing her after you turned her parents against her is another factor." Lila's face started to turn red.
"You have no right to go through my documents," Lila said picking up the files.
"I mean if there were any there, your bill of health has been clean for years Lila, Marinette's on the other hand not so much," Adrien said. "That's all I needed to say, we can wait and do more have later when Damian gets here but I can't say he'll be as nice about it. Marinette is the only family I have left and I'm not going to let you drag her through the grass anymore," Adrien added going to sit in the back of the classroom next to his friend.
"You didn't have to do that," Marinette said leaning on his shoulder. "But I appreciate it kitten," Marinette said winking and Adrien knew he was busted.
"I'll always be here for you M'lady," Adrien said and class started without delay.
Lunch rolled around and everyone was conflicted, Lila had lied to them about a deadly illness about so much, and Marinette, who they treated like garbage, was the one who was really sick. A large sigh could be heard from the door and two boys with black hair stood in the doorway one pushed sunglasses to the top of his head smiling and the other's face was stone cold.
"Alright, students of Francois Dupont, my name is Dick Grayson and today we're going to be talking about some certain behaviors of slander toward our name," Dick started and the whole lunchroom froze. "Recently we have heard from a patient of our program to help cancer patients around the world that there has been some issues, we are here to clear that up." Students suddenly noticed that he was reading from a screen on his wrist. "I sound like a robot," Dick whispered to Damian who rolled his eyes.
"Furthermore, patient 13078, Marinette Dupain-Cheng of the Wayne Foundation clinic was taken under our care at time 4:37 on March 30, 2021, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and moved to urgent care on April 2, 2021, after a biopsy on the first of April, 180 days of treatment are being provided and paid for in full. Lila Rossi who is not a patient of the Wayne foundation clinic has been seen harassing the patient which can cause stress levels to increase and therefore panic attacks which lead to trouble breathing and a shutting down of her lungs or windpipe in general if Miss. Rossi does not comply with our orders or removal from the school and distance from Miss. Dupain-Cheng, then we will be forced to take more forceful action..." Dick continued.
"Is this really necessary? Just stop messing with my girlfriend and apologize you assholes," Damian said and Dick sighed putting his arm down.
"Marinette, we know that things will never be the same but we're here to fight this with you," Alya said and Marinette felt tears well up in her eyes. Even if these people had been nothing but cruel to her she still wanted their support.
"We'll help you in any way we can dudette," Nino said wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
"That really means a lot guys but I need time to get over this with people who are truly going to be at my side, I'll appreciate everything you do though," Marinette said getting up and walking over to Damian with Adrien following close behind.
"You did what you thought was right beloved," Damian said and Marinette just smiled sadly. Damian looked over her head at Adrien who stared right back. "I think I know someone who might be able to make us all feel a little happier during this time, I'll see what I can do," Damian said leaving the superhero duo together to call a friend who could certainly bring the sunshine into Marinette's life again.
"A lot is about to change kitty," Marinette said holding the blond's hand watching Damian talk on the phone.
"180 days of fun M'lady," Adrien responded and suddenly a boy landed next to Damian and ran over to Marinette.
"Ready to kick some ass future Mrs. Wayne?" the boy asked and Marinette just chuckled blushing. She could already feel the weight being lifted off her shoulders.
The first few weeks were hard, she had to work to stay awake and study, keeping up with others was becoming a challenge.
The second month was painful but then again there was poison in her body constantly being flushed in and out.
The third month, radiation started, she was scared but she knew it had to be done.
Month four, she was almost done they said maybe even healed soon.
Once they had the caner isolated, she just had to have that laser there and then, hopefully, it would all be over.
Marinette had 180 days of meeting Damian's self-proclaimed best friend Jon by her side being whatever he needed her to be, she had the best partner she could ask for who was there to talk to her whenever she was scared, and she had Damian, her rock in the ocean.
When Marinette went into the doctors office and read off her paperwork, tears flooded her eyes as she bit her lip trying to contain her smile.
She was cured. Sixteen years old and she fought cancer and won.
She walked into school looking at the anxious faces of her peers.
"I've wanted to tell you something that I've known since the beginning of treatment, I'm moving to America after this was over, there's something about being here that makes me feel tied down. I did it, I fought and won a war far bigger than myself but somehow there's still something that I feel like I need to do or say, like there's something caught in my chest," Marinette said smiling sadly. "Lila never said anything, and that's what stings the most but I know I leave you guys as better people and you'll never make the same mistakes again, I want you to know I forgive you, every one of you." Marinette looked over her classmates one last time eyeing their expressions of tear-filled faces. "I have a flight to catch, bug out," Marinette said taking Damian's hand and walking past Jon and Adrien at the door and out of the school.
For the first time in a long time, Marinette felt her heart flutter as she took a deep breath and got on the plane.
a/n: This was such a hard story to write for me and I'm so happy to anyone who is reading and hope you enjoyed this experience. It has actual factual information in it and maybe you might have even learned something which would be cool huh? I hope to end up like Marinette in the next 163 days. thank you for reading

Okay, semi-serious question! What would each member of Miss Bustier's class in the Scarlet!AU, including Lila, dress up as for Halloween?
Well I think my ideas would probably apply to canon. And obviously I know France doesn’t really do Halloween (at least not how America does), so we’re gonna just retcon reality and pretend Halloween is a common thing to these kids, so basically:
Marinette: A character costume. From a cartoon or movie or game, whatever it is she’s handmaking and handstyling all of it and is scouring the internet to make sure every detail is 100% canon accurate. Every year she tries to outdo herself by getting more and more intricate characters. Year 1 - Princess Peach Paper Mario version. Year 5 - Princess Peach Smash Bros verison.
Adrien: It’s the first year he gets to participate and it’s not some bougie adult wine drinking party, so he either goes for a visual pun (sticking a bunch of beige paint swatches to himself to be 50 Shades of Grey) or goes super basic royalty free costume, like A Vampire or A Devil. If he has a partner he’d totally go couples costumes, but who decides the costumes depends on the partner. (Marinette would totally bow to his whims but Kagami would reel him in)
Alya: She’s been in different store bought Majestia costumes since she was old enough to call the shots. Only this year is she going for Hometown Heroes, but she’s completely caught between who to choose - Ladybug because obviously, or Carapace because her boyfriend, or Rena Rouge because it’s hilarious?! So many options!!!
Nino: He’s never gotten super into it but keeps it alive for Chris. Typically he’ll pull together a “closet costume”, like pulling out the plaid button up and sticking some straw out of the pockets to be a scarecrow. Going to parties with Alya makes him want to try a little harder this year so he’ll probably actually buy a full costume this year to go with whatever she decides to be (”Wait, you’re gonna dress as me this year?!”)
Canon Chloe: She’s worn her Ladybug costume a few too many times in public, so she’ll probably go for Queen Bee but with a twist - like a full ballgown princess but Queen Bee themed. It’s super expensive decorated with real rhinestones, as are all the costumes she’s had in the past because she’s in a personal competition with Marinette. It kills her that Marinette always gets way more compliments on her costumes.
SL Chloe: Same as above but Scarlet Lady themed. She’s at least smart enough to forgo the mask and demands pockets to shove Tikki into.
Canon Sabrina: In order to match Chloe but not outshine her, Sabrina is ordered to be a bee (to be Queen Bee’s “Pollen”, though Sabrina doesn’t know what that means). She’s an adorabee and her outfit is also pretty expensive because it was commissioned by Chloe, but that also means Sabrina got zero input on it.
SL Sabrina: It’s the first time Sabrina hasn’t relied on Chloe to “make” her costume (or rather DECIDE her costume) and all the independence has Sabrina scrambling a bit. In the end, by borrowing some of her dad’s old things, she dresses as a Cutie Cop complete with a too big hat and handcuffs she has to SWEAR not to use.
Max: With some carefully painted cardboard and foam, he’s one of the bots from UMS III. Despite the crudeness of the costume, it is also meticulously model accurate, and also very difficult to move in.
Kim: 100% one of those inflatable T Rex costumes.
Alix: She’d probably wear her regular clothes but invest in a high quality wolf mask and hands and sneak up on people all night.
Nathaniel: He’d have to prepare months in advance but he’d show up as Super Nathan. He skips on the face paint but considering it’s his OC and he still draws it in his comic, I think he’s not emotionally tainted by being an akuma and it’s own little “Fuck You” to Hawkmoth. Plus it makes Chloe stay 10000 miles away from him.
Mylene: Mylene walks into a costume shop with no plan, wanting to be taken in by how a costume looks and feels on her. Because of that she has an eclectic background and no one ever knows what she’s going to come as. Last year she was a racoon because the costume dress had ears on the hoodie, but maybe this year she comes as a Mad Hatter because the costume came with a lot of pieces. Who knows?!
Ivan: He knows he’s going to avoid anything with a mask if he wants his girlfriend to come near him. That does knock off a lot of his favorite horror characters, so he goes an Adrien route and shows up as A Ninja. Yep. Definitely not a video game character, noooo, this is TOTALLY just A Ninja. Uhuh.
Rose: Unicorn Princess. With wings. And a tiara. And A wand. And a tail. And rainbow chalk in her hair. And stickers.
Juleka: She’s a witch, but not a store bought cute short skirt one. Like a voodoo hag that dragged herself out of the swamp to curse mankind. She’s basically one every year so she just adds onto her costume and every year her witch costume just increases in collectables. Vials around her waist and a fake crow on her hat, a spell book appeared one year, and spider webs draped over her shoulders. Uh, are you sure that’s just a costume Juleka?
Canon Lila: She doesn’t care much about the actual costume but takes a lot of care making sure it’s juuuuuust towing the line between cute and sexy. It needs to be attention getting but not bad attention. She goes for slightly childish characters, like Little Red Riding Hood, so she can get away with saying she thought it was “just adorable!” when she knows it’s showing her off. If I wanted her to be even cheekier, I’d have her find a “Sexy” Rena Rouge costume that’s pretty much Rena Rouge but in a skirt, and watch Alya convulse.
SL Lila: Drop the act and just admit she likes feeling sexy. Her friends help her find costumes that are age appropriate but scratch that itch and Lila puts more thought into the actual character. She gets a new appreciation for merging horror with pretty stuff - like a Zombie Cheerleader or Elsa but with ice coming out of her skin. It also lets her stretch her makeup skills.

Burned Beginnings, chapter 1
Novel decided to do Adrienette April on a whim. Each post until the end of April (or such is the plan) will have 3 prompts in it.
She also discovered she’s very rusty. Bear with me here. XD
Next>>
1. AU
Marinette had thought she’d grown used to Chloe’s bullying, having to had endure it since they were little. However, with high school came a new name that became a regular part of Chloe’s vocabulary, alongside “hot” and “sexy” and “dreamboat”.
“And Marinette would never catch the eye of someone so perfect.”
Honestly, Marinette had thought she was over it, but on a particularly bad day, she’d snapped back at Chloe.
“Well, clearly he isn’t that perfect if he fawns over someone whose only redeeming quality is pretending to be pretty.”
That had led to a fire alarm getting pulled and Marinette left to blame for it. Anyone who tried to come to her defense was shut down, and Marinette had been suspended.
Which had started an all-out war.
After being stuck at home, wrongfully, for three solid days, Marinette had snapped. She’d decided that if Chloe was going to build a bonfire and poor on the gasoline that she would be there with a match. By senior year, Marinette’s record had taken a hit for it but Chloe’s reputation was in the toilet.
Marinette would take what she could get.
However, she supposed she hadn’t fully thought out the consequences. As much as she played with fire, she should have realized she’d get burned sooner or later.
And she did. Third degree.
We regret to inform you your application has been denied.
Those were words she grew tired of seeing yet came back from every school she applied to. With that in mind, she’d called up her girl friends to tell them what had happened.
“Hey, Marinette,” Alya had said upon seeing the letters. “Don’t get me wrong, I feel really bad for you. But… I did warn you—”
“I get it,” Marinette had surrendered, knowing that Alya was completely right. “You tried to warm me of the consequences, and now I’m paying for them.”
The girls had slipped into a moment of silence before Alix spoke up. “Hey, I can ask Max if he can do a little digging so you at least know why, yeah?”
Marinette had raised a brow but agreed. “Only if he’s not busy with his own college stuff.”
“Oh please, he’s too smart for college. He started up some robotics company in his free time and is already making bank on it.”
It took a week for Max to come back with a full report. Marinette had to give him props for working fast as he did.
“Hacking into the system was the first thing I could think of,” he’d explained. “In the side notes, there was mention of your attendance record and suspensions.”
“They were all wrongful suspensions,” Alix had countered.
“Doesn’t matter to the school,” Max had said with a shrug. “But even then, I thought there had to be more to this than just attendance. There were other students who had the same notes yet were accepted. So I shifted focus to digging up background on all the directors of the school. After hacking a few emails, I discovered Audrey Bourgeois happens to know a lot of directors or administration members in all the fashion schools of France. Considering the contents of most of those emails, it has become clear that Marinette was wrongfully barred from every school she’d applied to. And that there’s nothing that can be done about it because we only discovered such scandal through highly illegal means.”
“So…” Alya had begun, turning her attention to Marinette. “Where does that leave you, M?”
Marinette’s lips had pursed in thought. It was funny how things turned out, because despite her anger, she somehow had been peace with what she was faced with. “I think that the last place I want to be is in an industry full of liars and people who use their words to manipulate anyone they damn well please.”
That was how she ended up working full-time in her parents’ bakery. They never said a word about it, but she knew they were disappointed. Of course they weren’t mad about her still being here and working in the bakery with them, and she knew her parents still loved her more than anything.
But she knew that with as many dreams as she had and had shared with them, they were disappointed on her surrendering it all.
“Sorry, Maman, Papa,” she whispered into the empty kitchen as she plopped the baguettes she formed onto a baking tray. “Just give me a little time to figure things out. Seems like lofty dreams are a lot easier to crush than I realized.”
 2. Rebellion
A son can only bear the world of their parent’s expectations for so long. He wasn’t Atlas, but after a few years of acting like him, Adrien decided to dump the globe. To hell if it broke. He’d smirk in satisfaction at his father’s disappointment.
At the very least, the fact he no longer had the weight of the world of his shoulders made the far-too-common disappointment lecture easier to bear.
His strategic rebellion had started harmless enough. At sixteen with a rapidly growing forced modeling career, he’d given his father an ultimatum: he gets to grow out his hair, or it all goes. It had been shocking the amount of power the razor in his hand had given him. It was the perfect harmless threat. His father had been furious, throwing a fit about Adrien acting like a child, but after being gaslit for so long, Adrien had finally come to realize the abusive techniques for what they were. And he wasn’t going to roll over and take it any longer.
That day had ended with Adrien being grounded but ultimately the victor of their stand-off.
After that, he’d begun ditching certain events. He’d always liked fencing, so he never ditched those lessons, but attendance for his home-school lessons, mandarin lessons, and piano lessons had all been decided on a whim. His father had hardly been pleased by this, but to Adrien, that was the point. The lectures soon washed into one another so much that Adrien could practically recite the words that roll off his father’s tongue verbatim. He’d come to realize they were strategically meant to hurt. To humiliate. And as such, he’d stopped taking them personally.
Then came the fun part.
He got earrings. Honestly, Adrien hadn’t really cared for the piercings one way or another. In one way, there were a hassle, and caring for new piercings was a pain in the butt. However, they had been worth it to see his dad so royally pissed off.
Then came the ditching of certain photoshoots. There was a reason Adrien had held off on this one for so long: he cared about the people running the shoot. There was no reason they needed to be collateral in this battle between him and his father. After all, they were just employees doing their job; Adrien didn’t want them to suffer for his rebellion. With that in mind, Adrien had planned out his absences of these photoshoots. Again, he didn’t want to drag anyone else into his mess, so he had always organized a replacement model. Shoot would always go on, just not as planned.
And that was enough to drive his father mad.
It always put a smile on Adrien’s face.
The last touch was an unexpected one. He hadn’t even thought about going this far. Yet, a friend of his not only put the idea in his head, but gave him the art to go with it.
“Is that a tattoo?”
Oh, how he wished he would have taken a picture of his father’s face. The large black cat surrounded in a green, wispy smoke that wrapped around his forearm was truly a work of art. He’d had to think carefully about this decision, but in the end, he quite liked it.
“Yeah. I’m eighteen; I can ink myself if I want to. Why? Is that a problem?”
Adrien might be wearing a cat on his arm, but the grin on his lips was downright wolfish.
Eventually, it all had come to a head and blew up in his face. Adrien couldn’t say he’d been surprised. In fact, he had been fully expecting it. He’d already found an apartment to rent and had begun sneaking most of his important things over there before his father could kick him out. So when Adrien found himself kicked to the curb as soon as he was handed his general education certificate, Adrien had been prepared.
But mostly, he was free.
What a joyous day it was.
However, now that he was free, he knew he needed a job. Not because he needed the money, per se, but because it was time he started acting like the average adult. He never got to go to school, so now, it was time to pick up a mundane, first job that everyone hated but would “serve him well later in life”. Mostly, it would just be something normal.
The easy places to apply were food shops and retail stores. He’d work one for a while before deciding what his next life step would be. Chloe had been quick to offer him a job at her father’s hotel, but Adrien was vehemently against the idea. Over the span of his rebellion, Chloe’s behavior and attitude towards him had grown notably worse, and he had a feeling cutting ties with her would be his next step in life.
In the end, he’d scored a job he definitely was underqualified for. He’d applied partly out of spite and partly because ‘why not?’ He’d heard about this bakery enough times from Chloe to know the “cruel bitch who did nothing but mercilessly harass her” lived here, and that was enough to pique Adrien’s curiosity. At a bakery as popular as that, though, he hadn’t been sure he’d get a call. And when he did, he knew he would do everything he could to present himself as a reliable and respectable man eager to work, but he never thought he’d end up hitting it off with the owner.
Which somehow ended up with him agreeing to work at Tom and Sabine’s Patisserie.
Going into that job, he swore to himself he would do what he could to prove himself worthy. He knew there had to have been better applicants, so Adrien didn’t want to disappoint the very kind owners who dared give him a chance. Soon, his days were spent working hard while covered in flour and surrounded by bread all day. Well, bread and all the sharp and hot objects in your average kitchen.
He just didn’t think that would include a wicked sharp and smoking hot young lady that happened to be his bosses’ daughter.
 3. Game Night
“Mama, Papa, please go. You two hardly ever get out of the house.”
Marinette watched her maman put a hand over the mouthpiece of her phone while her papa turned to her. “But I’ll be busy that night. We have a massive order scheduled for the next day.”
“I can handle that,” Marinette quickly countered with a grin. “You know I’m a night owl, anyway. I’ll get it done, and you two can go enjoy game night with your friends.”
Her parents spared each other a glance. “Are you sure about that, Marinette?” Maman asked.
“Positive. Papa already talks to the bread too much, so he really should talk to people for a change. And while you have to deal with people all day, I know you want more than to just have short conversations filled with small talk. So please, go out and have a social life for once.”
With one last look, her parents relented. With a smile, her mother took her hand off the phone. “We’ll be there.”
Papa turned to her with a grin. “I was going to spend that time teaching Adrien how to handle those orders. I can leave teaching him in your hands, right?”
Her grin fell. Adrien Agreste. What the hell a washed-out model was doing working at her parents’ bakery was beyond her. Admittedly, over the last month she’d been working with him, the most she’d say is that maybe he wasn’t too bad a guy. Papa certainly sung his praises. But that still didn’t answer the question of why he was working here of all places. After all, he was Chloe’s friend and suspected lover.
“Don’t think I don’t see that look on your face, Marinette,” her maman chastised. She’d hung up and set her phone down already, fully giving her attention to her daughter. “No matter your personal feelings, you really should give him a chance.”
“He’s a good kid,” Papa said. “Maybe a little rough around the edges, but I can tell he really does want to learn and do his best.”
Marinette sighed. This wasn’t the first time this talk had happened. She remembered having a talk with her parents after his first interview. There were a few other people who were far more qualified for the job, but Papa said he liked Adrien’s personality and spirit the best. So in the end, all Marinette’s objections had fallen upon deaf ears.
She sighed. “Fine. I’ll give him a chance.”
With a smile that made Marinette loath to disappoint him, her papa patted her head affectionately. “Thank you, Marinette. I think you’d like him if you got to know him.”
Not likely. “I’ll do my best, Papa.”
“Really, Marinette,” her maman warned. “Unless you have a valid reason, you need to put aside your feelings for the sake of the bakery running smoothly. Can you manage that?”
Appropriately chastised, Marinette bowed her head in embarrassment. Maman brought up a good point: Marinette shouldn’t let her anger towards Adrien affect the bakery. Her parents didn’t deserve that. “Yes, Maman. I’m sorry.”
With a smile, her maman came up and wrapped her in a hug. “Thank you, Marinette.”
Marinette hugged her back. “No, thank you, Maman and Papa, for everything. I won’t let you down.”
Papa wrapped his arms around both her and Maman. “Thank you, sweetheart. We love you.”
“I love you, too.”

Topsy Turvy (2)
Welp, I guess I am expanding on this. I may have already been planning to write a part 2 but I wasn’t expecting to do it this quickly. While I am doing my own thing with the content initially inspired by the previous comic I did steal one of Plagg’s lines from their continuation comic cause it was too funny to be ignored.
So anyhoo! Here’s a part two!
---
“Geez, you would think Hawkmoth would give us one morning off,” Alya groaned. Marinette, Nino, and Alya had been heading towards the station to meet Adrien when that giant robot akuma came out of nowhere.
Now the girls returned to a worried looking Nino who embraced Alya happily. Marinette lingered a bit away from them looking pale and sweaty. Alya sighed and went back to comfort her. “Don’t worry, girl, I’m sure things with Adrien will work out.”
“Yeah...about that…”
The train slid into the station. The doors opened and people started flooding out. Marinette grabbed Alya’s arm and pulled her down to whisper in her ear. “I freaked out seeing Adrien while I was Ladybug and might have, sort of, asked him out to the movies.”
“As Ladybug?”
“Yeah.”
“What is wrong with you! That wasn’t the plan! You were going to do that only if he rejected you as Marinette!”
“I know but I didn’t want to get rejected so I jumped the gun. Do you think this will mess things up?”
“I don’t know! We don’t know what his reply is gonna be. What did he say after you asked him out?”
“Nothing. I left before he could answer.”
“I love you but I am going to kill you.” Alya pinched the bridge of her nose.
“Heads up,” Nino called for the girls’ attention, “I can see Adrien.”
“I’m gonna make a run for it.” Marinette took two steps before Alya pounced on her and forced her back.
“You dug this grave, now lie in it.” Alya grabbed her arm and pulled her down the platform towards Adrien.
Adrien was walking in a dazed state and his face was beet red. He almost walked completely past them before Nino hooked an arm around his shoulders. "Hey dude! It's great to have you back."
"Oh hi, Nino," Adrien snapped out of his daze, "You didn't have to come meet me."
"Sure we did," the three of them started walking back out of the station. Adrien clung close to Nino as he told them about his trip. His gaze kept flickering down to Marinette who walked in step with Alya. Nino would have found it funny if it wasn’t for the fact that Marinette looked like she wanted to melt into the ground.
After their initial phone call two weeks ago Adrien had been really quiet about the whole confession thing. He sent lots of pictures from his trip and talked to him but anything having to do with Marinette was nonexistent. He figured he was working through his feelings on his own. It may have been because Marinette was his friend or Alya’s aggressive shipping of the two but he hoped Adrien chose her. They really were made for each other.
The girls left early and Nino invited Adrien back to his place to hang out. "I'm glad you had fun on your trip. You must have had a lot on your mind regardless."
"A lot on my mind?"
"We were gonna have to talk about it at some point," Nino collapsed into a beanbag chair, "About Marinette?"
Adrien went rigid. "Ma-Marinette? What about Marinette?"
Nino looked at him deadpanned. "Dude, she confessed to you? Remember?"
"Yeah," Adrien sat down next to him, "I remember."
"So did you come to a decision while you were away?" Nino asked.
"Not really, I keep flip-flopping about it. I know being with Marinette would be the easier option and she's great. I would be lucky to call her my girlfriend."
"But?"
"I still really love Ladybug and after what happened today…"
"What happened today?"
Adrien recounted to Nino about the akuma and how Ladybug and Rena Rouge saved him. Then how Ladybug had asked him out to see a movie.
"HOLY CRAP!" Nino gaped, "Ladybug asked you out? Why didn’t you lead with that?"
"I guess because I was still processing it happened." Adrien leaned back so he was staring up at the ceiling, "It feels like I'm dreaming. I'm happy but it also confused me more."
"I wouldn't blame you for being confused. Having a friend confess to you and then your crush asking you out...it's a lot to think of."
"I feel like the answer should be obvious. But it doesn't feel that way anymore."
“So what are you gonna do?”
“I don’t know. Marinette said she wasn’t expecting an answer but I still owe her something. I don’t even know how serious Ladybug was with her invitation. She could have just been messing with me but I don’t really see casual flirting as something she would do.” Adrien pondered it some more. Nino could see the gears turning in his head.
“I’d like to see you and Marinette together but I can’t force you to be with her. If it turns out Ladybug is who you really want then that’s okay too. Marinette’s strong and for the most part it sounds like she just wanted to let you know she had feelings for you. You don’t have to feel guilty about either option. I hope you know that.”
“You’re so sagely. It’s throwing me off,” Adrien laughed, “Go back to saying dude and talking through a mouth full of hot cheetos please. But seriously though, thanks for talking with me about this. It helps.”
“I’m always here for you, brother,” Nino tossed him a controller, “Now let me whip your butt in Mario Kart.”
---
Adrien returned home after a few rounds of Mario Kart with Nino. He was already pushing things with his father by going off with his friends earlier instead of heading straight home. He received a cool welcome from his father when he walked inside the mansion before he was gone again. At least he had deigned to greet him when he got home. That’s more than what he expected out of him.
He climbed the stairs to his room. “Alright, you can come out now,” Adrien told Plagg.
“You couldn’t have snuck me some cheetos while you were hanging out with your friend?” Plagg whined, “I’m starving!”
“There were three full camembert tins as well as an emergency string cheese in my bag. How are you starving?”
“I ate those on the ride back to Paris. Now I’m hungry again!” Plagg crawled across Adrien’s bed, “I’m so weak, Adrien. I can hardly move. Everything around me is going dark. I can hear the angels singing.”
“You are a menace.” Adrien picked him up and tossed him into his cheese cabinet. “Happy?”
“I feel rejuvenated!” Plagg cackled as he dove head first into a new tin of camembert. Adrien rolled his eyes and closed the cabinet door.
He went to the window and looked out over the lights of the city. He couldn’t wait to be back running across that skyline. Two weeks without being Chat Noir had been torture. Ladybug assured him that she and Rena had things covered when he told her he was going away for a bit. Still, it didn’t stop him from feeling guilty about it.
Maybe he could tear Plagg away from his cheese hoard for a quick jaunt around town. Maybe he’d even see Ladybug.
Oh Ladybug. All this time he had been trying and failing to woo her as Chat Noir and then without any prompting she asked Adrien out. He still wasn’t sure if she was serious. How badly he hoped that she was though. He wanted it to be real. He wanted Ladybug to love him. Now it looked like he had a chance at that but there was only one snag. Marinette.
Sweet and wonderful Marinette. He already broke her heart as Chat Noir. Could he stand to do it again as Adrien? He really didn’t want to but neither did he want to leave her in suspense of an answer. He wished things could be simpler.
He thought back to what Plagg said on the train and scoffed. “Monogamy is a concept invented by humans.” he repeated it back to himself, “As much as I would love to be in the middle of a Ladybug/Marinette sandwich I don’t think that’s an option. I think I would combust at the mere possibility.”
He pressed his head to the cool window and sighed. His eyes fluttered close. He should just go to bed at this point. He would stay up all night worrying himself into knots about what to do at this rate. He opened his eyes once more and fell back with a startled yelp.
“Oops, sorry,” Ladybug waved at him upside down through the glass, “I didn’t mean to startle you.”
“Oh no, no you’re fine.” Adrien shot to his feet, “What are you doing here?”
“Well,” she righted herself and perched on top of his open window, “I wanted to come by and talk to you. I realize I kind of gave you a shock today during the akuma attack. The whole asking you to go to a movie thing.”
“Right, yeah, I was certainly surprised.” Adrien rubbed the back of his neck. Ladybug was in his room! Okay, she was sitting on his window but that was still in his room. “I gotta know, were you being serious or were you just fooling with me? I won’t be mad if you were but I just wanna know.”
“Yeah, about that,” he could swear he saw Ladybug blushing. Ladybug was blushing around him! “I did mean what I said. I think you’re a nice guy and I know that we haven’t ever interacted that much but I like you. I have no idea what you think of me but now you know what I think of you. So...thoughts?”
“I think you’re amazing.” Adrien answered without hesitation. His feet brought him closer to the window so he could better gaze up at her. Her head was silhouetted in moonlight casting a bright white halo around her dark hair. Her eyes sparkled like stars as she gazed stared back at him. Her lips slightly parted and her cheeks pink.
Adrien cleared his throat and spoke again. “I’ve actually had a crush on you for ages. I had trouble believing anything would come of it though.”
“Oh really?” Ladybug smirked, “Ages you say?”
Adrien’s mouth went dry. He nodded his head.
“Well if that ain’t a kick in the head,” she chuckled softly, “I’ve had a crush on you too.”
Wait. Hold up! Ladybug had a crush on him? He knew that she liked him but a crush? For how long? Adrien’s mind flashed back to when Ladybug told him she was in love with someone else. Was the someone else Adrien? Had he been getting rejected all this time because Ladybug was already in love with him?
“Adrien?” Ladybug waved a hand in front of his face, “Did I lose you? Was that too forward? I’m sorry if it was.”
“No! I’m just really happy!” Adrien blurted out. “I...I uh…if you still want I would like to go to that movie with you.”
Ladybug smiled. “Great. Are you free tomorrow?”
“I will be,” he would move the heavens themselves in order to be free if so needed.
“Awesome. They’re doing a classic movie night at the theater tomorrow. We could see the original La Belle et la Bete or Citizen Kane or Roman Holiday.”
“Aren’t they playing Psycho as well?”
“A horror movie?” Ladybug’s eyes widened. “I mean if that’s what you want to see...well um…”
“Wait,” Adrien said, “Are you--are you scared of horror movies?”
“Yeah, I know, big bad hero Ladybug gets scared watching horror movies. Laugh it up.” she shook her head.
“I wasn’t laughing. I wasn’t!” Adrien couldn’t help but smile though. He learned something new about her. “La Belle et la Bete sounds nice. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the original. I’ve only seen the Disney version and the live action remake they did back in 2014.”
“Well then,” Ladybug twisted her yo-yo around in her hands. “I guess I’ll see you tomorrow evening for our date.”
“Can’t wait.” Adrien was smiling like a fool. Ladybug gave him another wave goodbye before leaping off into the night. Adrien watched from the open window with a dreamy smile on his face. He had a date with Ladybug!
Then his heart sunk. He was gonna have to reject Marinette now. He hoped she wouldn’t take it too hard.
---
“I have a date with Adrien! I have a date with Adrien!” Marinette danced around her room. The kwamis were all out and celebrating with her. Alya sat on the chaise with a knowing smile. This wasn’t what Alya had planned but it looked like it worked out in the end. She had never seen Marinette so happy.
“Oh no,” Marinette stopped abruptly. “I have a date with Adrien!”
She ran to her closet and started pulling out clothes. “What am I gonna wear? It’s a movie date so it shouldn’t be anything too fancy but I don’t want to look like a slob. Should I wear something warm if the theatre is cold? But with all that body heat it’s bound to be warm so should I dress lighter? Alya, what do you think?”
“I think that you’re going as Ladybug so what you have on under your costume won’t make much of a difference.” Alya was trying not to laugh.
“Oh right,” Marinette threw her clothes back down, “Forgot about that part.”
“And you’re okay with dating Adrien as Ladybug? You don’t think that’s gonna cause any problems down the road? If you want this relationship to go anywhere in the future you’ll need to tell him who you are.”
“I know, but that isn’t for a good long while. I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.”
The words of a fool in love. Alya decided to let her have her moment and not say anything. Tomorrow night would be interesting indeed.

Chapter 2
XY was staring at the ceiling. A week has already passed. And he still couldn't stop thinking about the day he spent with Marinette. It was the most fun he'd had in a while.
Before the whole Silencer fiasco, his father would not stop pressuring him to produce a new song. So when they met up for dinner and his dad came up with the idea of stealing someone else's music, he couldn’t bring himself to decline.
XY knew it was wrong.
But all he wanted was the chance to finally impress his dad. Bob Roth might not have the best attitude towards him, but he was all XY had left.
Xy already lost his mom. He would not lose his dad too.
At least, that's what he believed. He should've known that his father was just using him for money. According to his dad, money was the most valuable thing in life.
XY scoffed. He should've known better. He should've known that all his father thought of hi-
He felt a buzz in his pocket and his face immediately brightened. Marinette just texted him!
Marinette: what's up?
Marinette: have u been inspired yet?
Marinette gave XY the idea to just sit back and let inspiration hit him. It was a common idea but it was one that most people tend to forget in the long run.
XY: nothing much
XY: and nope.
XY: my dad has been pressuring me to come up with something tho
Marinette: ignore him
Marinette: he's just mad cause he can't get any ladies
The three dots popped up on his screen.
Marinette: OH CRAP I'M LATE
Marinette: TTYL.
XY rolled his eyes and smiled.
They've been texting back and forth these past few days. He's learned so many things about her and vice versa.
It was nice. It's been a while since XY has had a friend.
Maybe she'll be even more, XY couldn’t help but think as he ran a hand through his hair.
"Huh," XY said out loud. "Even more"
And just like that, inspiration for his next song hit him.

Marinette was thinking of a certain blonde-haired, blue-eyed musician when she heard her phone ring.
"Tikki!" she screamed, staring at her phone as if it was Hawkmoth himself.. "He's calling me. XY is calling me."
Tikki sighed and floated next to Marinette, "Maybe you should answer it. It would be pretty rude to keep him waiting."
"Right, right," Marinette answered his call and hoped her voice didn’t sound as squeaky as she thought it did.. "Hey."
"Hey."
There was a moment of awkward silence.
Marinette didn’t know what to do. She glanced at the small goddess.
Tikki rolled her eyes at their awkwardness as she gestured to the phone. Ask him why he called you, she mouthed to Marinette.
Marinette nodded. That was a smart idea. "So," Marinette cleared her throat. "Why did you call me?"
"Right, Uhm." Marinette heard him shuffling around his room. "You know how you've been asking me if I was inspired and stuff?"
Marinette's eyes grew wide and a huge smile took over her face as she started to nod before remembering that he couldn't see her. "Yep." she eagerly said, "Did you find any?"
"Yes!" Marinette could hear the excitement in his voice. "I was actually wondering if you wanted to design the outfits for my music video."
Marinette's eyes looked shocked. "Yes!" she jumped around in excitement before remembering she was still in a call with XY. "Why me though?"
XY’s voice sounded confused.. "What do you mean, why you? You're literally perfect for it. You're talented. Plus, everyone loves your designs."
Marinette’s cheeks resembled a tomato. She has never been more thankful for the fact that he couldn't see her right now.
"Thank you." Marinette managed to mumble. "That really means a lot."
"You're welcome." XY said. Marinette had a feeling he was smiling though. "I have to go and have my dad listen to the demo. But I'll text you later, okay?"
"Yep," Marinette whispered and gave Tikki a cookie. "Good luck. I know that whatever song you came up with is gonna sound good. No matter what he'll say."
Marinette heard a faint "Thanks" from the phone before the call ended.
Marinette screamed into her pillow and looked up and saw Tikki look at her with amusement. “I think I like him.”

"So, what do you think?" XY asked as his father finished listening to his song. "Is it bad? Do you think people will like it?"
Bob Roth grinned at his son. "This is a Masterpiece. Where did you find this?" He gestured to the video of XY singing the song, "Who did you steal this from?"
XY's proud smile immediately turned into a scowl. "What do you mean, who did I steal this from?" He yelled at his dad, his blue eyes glaring at him as he grabbed the demo from the table. "I made it. I came up with it myself." XY felt his eyes tearing up. "Something you would actually know if you thought of me as something more than a money-making machine."
How could he? XY thought as he climbed up the stairs. Is it that hard to believe that I could come up with something good?
XY slammed his door shut. "All I wanted was to prove to him that I wasn't a talentless son." XY put his hands on his face. "I just wanted to make him proud."
XY felt a buzz in his pocket and immediately knew that it was Marinette. After all, she’s the only one that ever texts him.
Marinette: how did it go?
Marinette: did he like it?
XY wiped away the tears that were starting to come out of his eyes. He couldn't help but smile. Marinette certainly had an effect on him.
XY: he called it a masterpiece
Marinette: yes! I knew he would like it.
XY: yeah
XY: but then he asked me who i stole it from
Marinette: THAT JERK
Marinette: WTF
Marinette: THAT's SO MESSED UP
Marinette: HOW COULD HE-
Marinette: DO YOU WANT ME TO BEAT HIM UP FOR YOU????
XY laughed at her text messages. He only started to text her and he already felt better.
XY: no, it's fine
XY: i actually yelled at him
Marinette: ...
Marinette: do you feel better?
XY: actually, yep.
XY: he's a really sucky father
Marinette: for some reason, a lot of the blondes i know have a toxic parent
Marinette: it's kinda sad
XY: maybe it's a paris thing
They texted back and forth, XY laughing at the memes Marinette sent.
XY: You're definitely a daughter of Athena
Marinette: ( ⚆ _ ⚆ )
Marinette: is that a percy jackson reference i see
XY: yep
XY: have u read the books?
Marinette: duh
Marinette: you haven't lived til you've read the books
Marinette: sadly, the movies sucked tho
XY: I KNOW
XY: ANNABETH WASN'T EVEN BLONDE
Marinette: EXACTLY!!
Marinette: SJSJSJSJSJSJ
Marinette: THE MOVIES SCARED ME FOR LIFE
XY: oh yeah
XY: before i forget
XY: what's ur insta?
Marinette: which one
XY scrunched his eyebrows up in confusion.
XY: What do you mean by which one?
Marinette: i have two
Marinette: one as my personal one and the other one for commissions and stuff
XY: ohhh
XY: smart
Marinette: i know ;)
Marinette: my personal one is @Mdupaincheng and the one for my commissions one if @MDCdesigns
XY switched his apps and searched up Marinette's personal instagram. He clicked on the first result that came up.
The profile picture was Marinette in a blue, silky dress that went just above her ankle. There was a slit on her left leg that showed her knee. It was nighttime and Marinette was practically glowing under the city lights. She was staring at something on her right side, with one hand running through her silky black hair which was down for once.
She looked hot.
After XY stopped admiring her profile picture, he finally noticed her follower count.
She had 200,000 followers. 200,000.
It wasn't as high as XY's follower count, that was still quite a lot.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
XY: i didn't know u were insta famous
Marinette: wdym?
Marinette: which acc
XY: ur personal one
XY: u have over 200k followers
Marinette thought that she read his text wrong. There's no way that Marinette had that many followers. 200,000? There was no way.
Marinette: ur lying
XY: I'm not.
XY: check ur acc
It's been a while since Marinette has logged onto her personal account. The hate she got the last time she's been signed in was too much for her and when Alya told her to log out and just focus on her other account, @MDCdesigns, she couldn't bring herself to argue against her.
Marinette hasn't even thought of that account since that day. So when she logged in and saw that XY wasn't lying, she accidentally dropped her phone in shock.
Tikki looked at Marinette with a questioning look.
Marinette ignored her kwami and texted the blue-eyes boy back.
Marinette: HOLY SHIT
Marinette: I HAVE 200k FOLLOWERS
Marinette: HOW TF DID THAT HAPPEN
XY: when was the last time you checked ur acc
Marinette: about 3 months ago
Marinette: the media thought i was adrien's gf and his fangirls came at me
Marinette: i got a ton of hate and a friend of mine told me to log out and just focus on my @MDCdesigns acc
Marinette: so i did
Marinette: i haven't thought abt that acc since then
XY: the fangirls were probably just jealous
XY: it's been months so they probably calmed down
XY: I'm looking through the comments rn and so far the latest hate comment you've got was about 2 weeks ago
XY: you've got a bit of a fanbase yk
Marinette: WHAT DO I DO
Marinette: DO I JUST CONTINUE NOT TO POST OR SHOULD I POST SOMETHING ON MY STORY ABT HOW THANKFUL I AM FOR 200k
Marinette: HOW COME NONE OF MY FRIENDS TOLD ME ABT THIS
XY: don't post anything rn
XY: post a picture of yourself and the caption it something that shows ur thankful for the number of followers u received
XY: OH
XY: a few hours before u post the picture, make sure u post on ur story abt how ur back from ur break on social media
XY: that way ppl will understand why u haven't been active
XY: it'll also have ppl prepared for ur post and they'll be waiting for u to post it
XY: that'll give u more engagement and stuff
Marinette: thank u
Marinette: that was really helpful
Marinette: when should i post something?
Marinette: AND I STILL DONT KNOW WHY MY FRIENDS DIDNT SAY ANYTHING ABT THIS
XY: u told ur friend that u were taking a break from social media right?
Marinette: yes
XY: then they probably weren't expecting u to post anything so they weren't checking ur insta
XY: u should post something on the weekend
XY: that way ppl wouldn't bother u during school this week
XY: if u want i can help u come up with ideas tomorrow?
Marinette: yes, please!
Marinette: do u wanna come over
Marinette: we can plan it in my room so that ppl won't overhear us
XY: guess I'll see u tomorrow then
XY: just text me the time ur available and I'll be there
Marinette: make sure to wear a disguise tho!
Marinette: we got lucky last time and no tabloids caught us
XY: ur right
XY: we must've been really lucky if no one got a pic of us
XY: but okay
XY: I'll wear my best disguise
XY: goodnight, princess
Marinette blinked a few times, making sure she read the text correctly.
Princess.
Marinette: goodnight ♥

Walking Home
This is inspired by @buggachat’s Bakery AU. I hope this is okay because I love this idea so much and I loved the winery arc. I wrote this assuming Adrien also lives at the bakery, though I don’t know.
——————————————————————————
“Okay no, no first of all they did NOT kick us out because I spilled. But IF did they did then that’s your fault!” Marinette exclaimed as the four of them left the restaurant.
“I didn’t mean that time,” clarified a bubbly Adrien as he ran ahead. “I meant when you kept turning the glasses into microphones and trying to get everyone to sing when they were still pretty full.”
“No! No! No!” she insisted, running up to him and giving him a gently tap on shoulder. “It was because you kept making chicken noises and they were awful!”
“They were amazing.”
“I don’t think you’ve ever heard a chicken,” she said smugly as she attempted to suppress her laughter at the memory. “It was so high pitched.”
“Bawk bawk bawk,” said Adrien quietly. Seeing Marinette suppress more laughter, he kept going and got louder. She couldn’t stand still, the laughter causing her to bend in half unable to catch her breath. Making her laugh was somehow so addicting and so he kept doing the awful chicken noise, getting higher and louder and faster. Passerbys gave them strange looks and rolled their eyes. Alya couldn’t help but smile at the thought that everyone who saw them must assume they were lifelong friends. Maybe even more than that.
“Oh wow I didn’t realize how late it was,” announced Alya, pretending to check her phone. She was fairly certain the two forgot her and Nino were there. “Ugh, I’ve got an interview scheduled for the blog at 8am.”
“Yeah and I’ve got to wake her up otherwise she’ll never get there on time,” added Nino with a laugh, catching on quickly. Adrien and Marinette snapped out of their bubble, seeing suddenly how ridiculous they must seem.
“We should do this again soon though,” said Alya. “All of us,” she added, looking at Adrien.
“Yeah, this was fun,” said Marinette, sneaking a glance at Adrien (though he didn’t notice) before turning back to Alya. “Are you okay to get home?”
“Yeah, we’re gonna grab a taxi,” said Alya. “What about you two? Are you okay? You didn’t switch to water when Nino and I did.”
“That was water? I thought you guys just switched to white wine,” asked Adrien. Nino chuckled and handed Adrien his phone so the two could make plans to hang out later in the week.
While the boys talked, Alya pullled Marinette into a hug to supposedly say goodbye.
“No girl, for real are you okay to get home? We can drop you off,” she whispered.
“No it’s okay you guys live the opposite way and you need to get up early,” whispered Marinette back. “The bakery isn’t that far and It’s not like I’m walking alone.”
“Exactly,” said Alya, pulling away but making sure the boys were too distracted by their conversation to hear theirs. “I know tonight was fun but you didn’t start the day being Adrien’s biggest fan. You’re okay walking home with him?”
“Yes Alya I’m fine,” she hiccuped. “I’m not even that drunk.”
“Marinette!” Adrien called suddenly, very excited. “Can we make pizza at the bakery?!”
“Oh my god pizzaaaaaa!” She exclaimed far too loudly, throwing her hands in the air. “Yes, yes let’s go! Bye Alya!”
She ran ahead and Adrien excitedly and instinctively followed her, the two a collection of giggle and hiccups stumbling between the street lights.
“Text me when you get home!” Alya called after the pair. They were quite a sight. She couldn’t help but smile at the fact that this morning Marinette couldn’t say his name without grimacing and now they were rushing off into the night. She wondered how Marinette would feel about the blonde boy tomorrow.
“Pizza, pizza, pizza!” The two exclaimed as they trudged down the sidewalk.
“Okay I know we have dough and cheese I don’t know if we have any pizza sauce,” said Marinette raking her brain. “Do we want toppings? Because I think we just have sprinkles, maybe we-ahhh!” Suddenly the ground came rushing at her, but before she had time to process what was happening she was stopped inches from the pavement. She looked up and saw Adrien had caught her in the knick of time. His hands were on her waist as if he was dipping her in a some eleaborate dance. The streetlight above him reflected on his golden hair like a halo.
He really was a good model, she couldn’t help but think as she found herself drawn to his light like an innocent moth.
“Sorry,” he said realizing the position they were in. “Force of habit, I guess. I didn’t mean, I mean I-.”
“Don’t apologize,” she breathed, not attempting to remove herself from his grip. “You’ve just got like catlike reflexes.”
“Yeah, I maybe??” He laughed. He couldn’t even explain her own pun to her as he pulled her to her feet. “Hehe, uh sorry if I distracted you again.”
“No, no it’s my own fault, I’m extra clumsy when I’m drunk,” she explained, bashful suddenly for some reason. “I’m a regular public menace. But thanks for not letting me fall on my face.”
He smiled. “Anytime,” he stood up straight and offered her his arm. “To ensure you don’t fall again,” he explained.
The logic of his reasoning negated any objections her former view of him held at the ready. He didn’t have to be kind to her when it was just them, and this must be why she held onto his arm so firmly and allowed herself to be so close as they walked. She suddenly felt guilty for her ulterior motives in inviting him out. The skeptic in her wanted to point out that maybe he was faking being drunk, or was so well versed at deception that alcohol had no affect on his ability to lie. But a larger part of her just wanted to rest her head on his shoulder as he led her home, contently listening to him ramble.
“Okay but why isn’t pizza a pastry?” he continued. “Like a lot of baked goods have cheese, they all have dough. Is it the sauce? But donuts have filling and the tomato is a fruit, I think-?”
“Maybe pizza can be your menu speciality,” she murmured, following the voice that told her to rest her head. “But you can give it a fun name and make it look different so they won’t know it’s pizza until they taste it. You’d think of a good name, you’re funny.”
“I’m funny?” he asked, genuinely surprised and flattered.
“I’m drunk, who knows what I’m saying,” she joked. “I’ll deny it but yes you are funny. I like when you write puns on the specials board.”
“Really?” He chuckled. “I didn’t think you’d be a fan of bad puns.”
“I’ve heard worse,” she murmured, her mouth moving faster than her mind. “There’s a lot you don’t know about me.”
“Like what?” he tried, trying to careful in this new territory, but fighting his catlike curiosity . “Are you a secret comedian?”
“No, no but I was in love with a boy who made puns a lot,” she said quietly, almost just to herself. “It seems so silly but now whenever I hear a good one I write it down so I don’t forget. So I can tell it to him. But I’m never gonna see him again. That’s so stupid isn’t it?”
He saw tears forming in her eyes. “I think it’s sweet,” he said. “Is he someone you meet in New York? On your internship?”
She stopped, her mind had brought up another similarly between him and Chat Noir and that was extra confusing right now. But she hadn’t had anyone to talk to about Chat and it felt nice to share something about him aloud. She had to tread carefully though.
“I’m sorry if you don’t wanna talk about it,” said Adrien before she could find the words. “It’s none of my business.”
“No, it’s okay.”
“No, it’s not,” he continued, gently removing his arm from her. “You’ve already done so much for me, helping me at the bakery, letting me into your home, inviting me out tonight . You’re a very kind person Marinette and I’ve invaded so much of your space already, I shouldn’t be invading your privacy.”
“No, Adrien please it is okay,” she insisted. “I brought it up. And I... I’ve never brought it up to anyone before, to be honest. And it must be because... I like talking to you. Because-.”
“-of the wine?” He offered.
“-because we’re friends,” she finished, looking up at him with soft, truthful eyes.
“I think it is the wine,” he joked, only half certain.
“Here, I’ll prove it,” she said, keeping her purse and rummaging through its contents. Finally she found what she was searching for. “Here,” she said, placing something in his hand.
“What is this?”
“My lucky charm,” she said proudly, as he opened his hand to reveal a simple keychain composed of colorful beads. “I made it during my internship, it helped me when I had deadlines or a creativity block. I take it everywhere.”
“And you’re giving this to me?”
“Well I still plan on needing it and having it close by, so I wouldn’t just entrust it to someone I don’t want in my space would I? It’s probably not as flashy as the friendship bracelets Chloe made you but-.”
She was cut off as Adrien pulled her into a tight embrace. “It’s perfect. Thank you.”
She hesitated, but returned the gesture. “You’re welcome,” she said as the two stood in the middle of the sidewalk, embracing for probably a little too long. “Adrien, since we’re friends, I think I should be honest with you.”
He pulled back to face her, his face still holding a smile despite her dismal tone. “What is it?”
“Today, when I invited you...” she began, her pride almost too big a pill to swallow. “Well, I had ulterior motives for inviting you.”
“Really?”
“I thought, oh god I’m so embarrassed,” she pushed through. “I though you had ... a secret.”
“A secret?”
“Yes,” she buried her face in her hands, utterly embarrassed. “Ugh, and I thought it you got drunk enough you would blurt it out. And that’s so awful of me and I know it’s dishonest, but I promise you it’s not like that anymore. I was paranoid, I guess. I don’t know. But I’m so sorry. really do enjoy spending time with you-.”
“What kind of secret?”
“Huh?” She said, surprised he wasn’t mad. “Oh, i-it doesn’t matter. It was still wrong of me.”
“Well why couldn’t you ask me about it before?”
“I didn’t have any sort of proof,” she admitted. “Only a hunch.”
“Why?” He asked. He wasn’t mad but she couldn’t place his tone. People must have accused him of this before. She knew now he wasn’t his father, he was more than whatever his past held, and he didn’t deserve another faker. She knew he’d ask what she suspected and it would ruin everything but maybe she could make it less awful if she kept apologizing?
“Nothing major, just because of how you acted around me-.”
“I see.”
“-but I know now I was completely wrong,” she quickly went on. “Getting to know you tonight and spending more time with you at the bakery, I know I was wrong.”
“Oh,” was that all he could say? Oh?!
“Because you’re just so nice!” She went on, her drunk brain turning to rambling. “You’re actually a really great guy, and you’re just quiet at first, you’re ... a friend...”
“Just a friend?” He asked, the word holding his attention tight.
“Yes,” she said, hoping he was considering accepting her apology. “And I- oh darn it.” Suddenly, a raindrop fell onto Marinette’s cheek. Then another. Without warning the sky began to pour, and the pair sought shelter. Adrien took off his jacket and placed it over Marinette’s head to attempt and shield her from the rain, a fruitless attempt as the jacket immediately became soaked and heavy and helpful to no one.
As they made their way through the waterfall that claimed the sidewalk, an abandoned umbrella leaning against a building caught Adrien’s eye. He swooped in to grab and quickly opened it over Marinette’s head. “Ugh, I can’t see,” she cried, the rain causing her eye makeup to run and sting her eyes. She wiped it away, only to smudge it and give cover her face with a charcoal color. Adrien laughed.
“Mademoiselle Hamster, you look more like a raccoon now,” he wheezed. Before Marinette could offer a clever response, she saw the rain continued to fall on him as she was safely covered.
“You’re going to catch pneumonia,” she stated angrily.
“It’s not a very big umbrella,” he said, still laughing.
“Nonsense,” she said, yanking the umbrella handle to spin him in. “I’m not about to let you get sick and stick me with all the work at the bakery.”
But the umbrella was very small. And in order for them both to be covered, they had to stand very close together.
“Fine by me,” breathed Adrien, looking down at Marinette. She stood in front of him, her hands landing instinctively on his chest as if they were slow dancing. She was aware of this, but did not remove them. Her eyes went to the ground, not being about to handle the closeness with eye contact. In one hand Adrien held the umbrella, the other one slowly went to removed a strand of wet hair from her face. A bolt of lighting graced the sky.
“You were right you know,” he said quietly, the rain almost drowning him out.
“About what?”
“About my secret,” he said with a chuckle. “I thought I hid it well, but I guess I made it really obvious.”
“What?” Said Marinette, looking up at him is disbelief, her hands trembled. “No, no you’re still drunk, you don’t know what you’re saying. No, no I know now... after everything that happened it can’t be true.”
“Do you... not want it to be true?”
“I guess it doesn’t really matter what I want,” she admitted, bowing her head again. “Either it’s true or it’s not.”
“I promise you, it’s very true,” said Adrien, his voice softer than she had ever heard but somehow insanely familiar. He placed his free hand under her chin and lead her to meet his gaze.
“Wait, what did you think I-.”
“Marinette, I’m sorry that I couldn’t be more direct with you,” he began. “But I didn’t think I’d ever feel this way again since... you’re so amazing and I- I’m done keeping secrets; I do have feelings for you.”
“W-what kind of feelings?” she asked, a tiny portion of her intoxicated little mind convinced he was angry with her.
Adrien closed his eyes and leaned in close to her and his lips stopped mere inches from her own. Hesitating. Waiting. Silence. She looked at him, no streetlight caught his hair now but the shine remained. The glow was just him. He wasn’t a spy, he wasn’t a traitor, he wasn’t a villain. Her mind ran with things he was not until suddenly she realized what he was. Kind. Handsome. Funny. Charming. She had taken these things for granted before and thought they were lost and locked away forever. It was like they were reincarnated, her heart fluttered in an nearly forgotten familiar way as if to say she had been here before. As if to say this is exactly where she was meant to be.
Lighting crashed in the distance.
She chased the feeling and eliminated the space between them, drawn to him like he was magnetic. She could could blame it on the wine. She could blame it on the rain. She could blame it on the way his eyes were so gentle and vibrant at the same time like a lush green forest she wanted to explore until she was hopelessly lost. But she crashed into him like a she was a tidal wave, her arms wrapping around his neck as she pulled herself up to kiss him. He stepped back, surprised but pleased and tossed aside the umbrella in favor of having both his arms around her as he eagerly kissed her back. He lifted her off the ground, perhaps a little too overzealous, and the pair found themselves on the ground in the middle of a puddle. Only then did they break apart, like a dream they were rudely awakened from, and Marinette found herself laying on top of him.
Adrien looked at her, eyes wide and curious, awaiting a sign of how she felt. Even now, with her eyeliner smudged and her hair soaking wet, his heart skipped a beat in way it hadn’t done in years. What was she thinking? Should he say something? His mind raced with what to say next, he had imagined this confession thousands of times since he realized his feelings, but none of his scenarios went quite like this. He didn’t want to risk ruining anything, if there was even something to ruin. He played the last minute over and over in his head like a romantic film scene. He smiled a wide smile and if Marintee didn’t know any better, she could have sworn he was purring.
Marinette took that as her signal to lean forward, slower and more graceful than the first attempt and kissed him again. It was less rushed and more gentle, but also more certain. The umbrella was carried away by the wind, the two seemed to have forgotten about the rain or any storms between them.
The next day, Marinette awoke feeling sicker than she had ever felt in her life. Not only did she have a massive hangover, but being stuck in the rain had given her a terrible cold as well. Her body couldn’t decide which unpleasant feeling to focus on so she remained in bed, cursing the world.
“Hey girl,” came Alya’s voice from the doorway. “Heard you weren’t feeling too good.”
“Alya I’m dying,” moaned Marinette.
“Were you so busy dying that you couldn’t text me that you go home safely?” laughed Alya, removing the pillow from her face. “Omigosh you didn’t even wash your face last night. You really were trashed.”
“Ugh I don’t even remember it raining last night, but I woke up soaked,” complained Marinette.
“Wait, you don’t remember it raining?”
“No, after we said goodbye to you and Nino the night it a total blur.”
“Oh, does Adrien remember the rain?”
“I don’t know, we don’t talk,” Marinette reminded her, covering her head with a blanket. “I don’t know what I said to him on the walk home, but my throat is killing me so it feels like I was yelling.
“Wait, you don’t remember anything from the walk home?”
“No,” repeated Marinette. “Why? Did I drunk dial you or something?”
“Uh, no,” said Alya with a mischievous smile. “But when it started to rain I told the cab driver to drive by your place to see if you guys got caught in the rain and I’m so glad I did because I saw something very interesting.”
“What?”
Alya simply handed Marinette her phone and braced herself for the reaction she knew was coming. Marinettte had to do a double take at first. But there was no mistaking this was a picture of her. And Adrien. Kissing.
“WHAT?!” She exclaimed, giving herself a worse headache. “Ouch. Ugh, Alya please tell me this is photoshopped, this is a joke right?”
“Not this time, I am an eyewitness,” assured her friend. “I saw everything.”
“Oh my god, I can’t believe he kissed me,”
“Well you shouldn’t because if you go back a little bit you see it’s clear as day who kissed whom,”
“What?” But it was true. She swiped back and forth and there was no arguing that she pulled him in, she reached up, she kissed him. Twice. “Oh no.”
“Oh, don’t be embarrassed,” said Alya taking back her phone. “If kissing a former model in the rain is the worst thing you’ve done after drinking, that’s nothing to be ashamed of. I don’t see why you don’t like him anyway, you two got along so well yesterday.”
“Oh no no no I just thought it was another dream!”panicked Marinette.
“Another?” Teased Alya. “So you often dream about kissing Adrien?”
Only when he’s working with his supervillain father “I’m never drinking again,” vowed Marinette, burying her head in her hands. “Please tell me no one else saw those photos.”
“Just me and Nino, but I’m keeping them for blackmail,” confirmed Alya as she headed for the door. “Or to show at your wedding.”
Marinette threw a pillow at the door, just missing her friend as she took her leave. What had gotten into her? Besides copious amounts of wine, that is. She prayed that Adrien’s memory of last night was even foggier than hers. She wished she had Tikki with her to talk her through this without any judgment but she just had her. And all she could do was panic.
“Hey, are you up?” Came a small voice accompanied by a knock on her door. “I just saw Alya leave and I wanted to check on you if that’s okay.”
It was Adrien. “Um yeah, I’m fine. Just tired, I guess,” she replied. He didn’t come in, she didn’t invite him. He was still wary of her. That must be as good sign, right?
“A headache?” He chuckled knowingly. “I had one too. I made a smoothie and that kind of helped. I can bring you one. Or leave it in the kitchen for you.”
“Thanks,” she said awkwardly. Silence stood between them for what felt like hours.
“Listen, about last night,” Adrien said at last. Marinette braced herself for the worst.
“Yeah?”
“I wanted to say thank you,” he said outside the door. “It meant a lot, you guys inviting me out. I had a lot of fun, well the parts I remember anyway.”
“Do you... remember walking home?”
“Hardly,” he admitted. “Apparently it rained?”
She laughed. “Go figure,” she said. She cousins sent he was right: she did enjoy the parts she remembered. “But um thank you too for helping me get home safely. You’re a good friend.”
The sound of the word made him blush, he was grateful she couldn’t see his face. “Anytime,” he said. “Feel better, I guess I’ll see you later?”
“See ya,” she said, as she heard him walk away from the door and flopped on her bed in relief. Crisis averted.
Adrien made his way down the stairs, Marinette’s keychain in hand. The moments of last night replayed in his head. It was blurry to him as well, but a few moments stood out to him. Mostly, the way she said ‘lucky charm’ and the way her smudged makeup resembled a mask.

She’s not here
They were all on the bus, heading back to the hotel for dinner and rest.
It was hard work, fixing up a park, but the class did it well. By the end of the day, it was beautiful, all traces of trash had disappeared and they had even managed to give some benches a new coat of paint.
Lila beamed and clapped as it was over, promising everyone a scoop of ice cream, as was tradition when she finished a big project. However, when they found a place that was selling ice cream, she realized she left her wallet in her room.
Apologizing profusely, she swore that she’d get them a treat some other time.
“This has never happened before; I’m so sorry everyone!”
Alya patted her shoulder. “It’s okay, girl. You already helped so much to heal that park; let us do something for you.”
“At least let me order for all of you.”
“If you want, girl, sure.”
“Okay, I’m usually really good at guessing people’s favorite ice cream flavors once I get to know them, so I should be good for most of you, but since Marinette and I haven’t been on such good terms lately, I’ll probably need to ask her. Where is she?”
“I dunno. Mari!” Alya called into the meager crowd of students. “Come on out, hun, we need to know your pick for ice cream!”
Adrien piped up from the back, where he was chatting with Rose. “I don’t think she’s here. She must not have come back from her walk.”
Alya felt her heart race with concern. “Lila, I know you want us to have ice cream, but there’s no way we can just leave Marinette in the forest.”
“Of course not, Alya.” She placed a hand on her shoulder. “I’ll go look for her after I place our orders. I know these woods better than anybody; I’ll have her back in a jiff.”
“Okay, thanks Lila.” She let out a breath, leaning against Nino.
True to her word, Lila left soon after ordering for everyone, heading down the sidewalk to look for Marinette. Sure, she seemed to be going the wrong way, but it was probably a shortcut she forgot to mention.
The walk back to the hotel was lovely, with Alya and Adrien arguing over which picture of Ladybug should be the new header for her blog and Nino holding her hand the whole way.
It was only when she got back to the hotel and saw Lila lounging beside a cute boy, did she remember that her BFF was missing.
“Lila! Did you find her?”
Adrien jolted, mid-sentence and looked up at Lila with hopeful eyes. It seemed that he forgot about Marinette too.
Lila sat still for a moment, before a look of remorse crossed her face.
“I’m so sorry, Alya. I couldn’t find her. I scoured every path, but nothing.”
“I should probably check.” Adrien raised his hand. “After all, I’m her boyfriend.”
“That’s a great idea.” Lila stood and walked to clasp Adrien’s arm. “I’ll come too, so we don’t get lost like Marinette.”
An odd look crossed Adrien’s face, but he nodded nevertheless. They began walking to the exit.
“Ah!” Lila flinched, clutching her leg. “My leg! I must have sprained it while looking for Marinette.”
“Oh!” Alya rushed to Lila’s other side, helping Adrien hold her up. “Let’s get you to our room, maybe get some ice for that leg.”
“No, I know you and Nino probably wanted to spend some time together. Adrien can take me. After all, what are all of those fencing lessons for?” She nudged him with a teasing grin, which he shakily returned. Poor guy, probably so worried about Marinette.
“Okay, make sure you call me if you need anything.” She grabbed both of her shoulders. “Anything.”
“Of course.” She smiled and patted her arm before tugging Adrien to the stairs.
Alya turned to Nino with a beam. “Soo, wanna hang out?”
He rolled his eyes, slipping his headphones back around his neck. “Of course, it’s not like we’ve talked about it since we found out about the trip.”
She leaned into his side, pressing a kiss on his jaw. “I’ve looked up a map, and I’m ready to show you all the sights.”
“Hi!” An unfamiliar voice surprised them; it was chirpy like Rose, but not quite as high. They turned in unison and saw a willowy girl with a long ponytail trailing down her back. An odd headband was woven into the deep purple locks.
“Sorry to eavesdrop, but I heard you two were looking for a place to hang out? Might I suggest…” her eyes landed on Alya’s face before brightening up again. “The aquarium? In the evening like this, the lights turn on and everything seems to glow an incredible blue.”
“Really?” She glanced at Nino with a grin. “That sounds like an incredible thing to put on my blog! Come on, Nino, let’s go!”
“Okay.” He chuckled and allowed himself to be pulled down a random hallway.
“Just take a right, then a left. It should be two doors down!”
They both giggled like kindergartners as they ran down the halls. Nino stopped and cocked a brow when she continued pulling him past the door the girl mentioned.
“Let’s play a game.” She whispered. “We both get lost and try to meet back here. Video chat so we know we don’t cheat.”
He pulled out his phone and called her in response.
Once they had gotten thoroughly lost, Alya set a timer and began dashing back to the aquarium.
It took her three minutes. (she may have cheated a little bit, but it wasn’t her fault! Nino is really cute when he gets winded from running!) She stumbled into the room, listening to Nino complain about how much she was making him run.
It was incredible. The latent orange from the sunset and the blues from the aquarium blended in a perfect contrast that she almost dropped her phone.
“Whereisshe...”
“You say something babe?” She glanced down at her phone. It was blank; no service.
Oh well, Nino would tell her what he said when he got here. Meanwhile, she raised her camera app to capture the stunning sight before her.
“She’snothere...”
A flicker at the corner of her screen. She lowered her phone, but nothing was there. It was slipped into her pocket as she turned to the larger aquarium. The fish seemed to be missing, except for one bright orange angel fish.
“She’snothere...”
The fish swam in hypnotizing figure eights. Alya stared at it, entranced. It felt like with every figure eight, the fish was stealing a little bit of breath from her.
“She’snothere.”
The fish moved faster and faster, until the swift motions combined with her shortness of breath made it look almost like it was forming a circle.
“She’snothere.”
No, not a circle.... a face. A face with thick rimmed glasses and a mole just above her eye. A face that looked like hers, but not.
“She’snothere. She’snothere. She’s. Not. HERE.”
A body erupted from the water, and Alya flinched from the waved, but they didn’t even spray her with a mist. Almost like they weren’t there.
A girl stood before her, hair in knots, staring at Alya. She was in a fancy blue dress that looked like it should be poofy, if not for the water dripping from the hem.
Alya stood stock-still, chest heaving. “Who are you?”
“Where is she?” A voice hissed from nowhere.
The girl looked at her with hollow eyes. “She’s not here.”
“Who are you walking about? What was that voice?”
The figure jolted, like a glitching video. Suddenly, her hair was neat and styled. Her dress was dry and fanned out around her.
“Are you okay? What’s going on?”
“Where is she?” The bodiless voice asked again, this time in a tone so sickly sweet, Alya felt like retching.
Her mirror image grinned at the ceiling, walking closer to the empty aquarium. She put her hand on it, like she was about to push open a door.
“She’s right here.”
Spectral waves rushed from the glass, assaulting and surrounding Alya. Her breaths became more and more shallow, it felt like her throat was closing up.
Like she was drowning.
When Nino came in, panting and just barely biting his tongue from cussing, Alya was curled in a ball on the floor, wheezing.
“Als!” He fell to his knees beside her, taking in her vitals like he learned in the akuma relief seminar. “You okay? It looks like you had either an allergic reaction or a panic attack. What was in that ice cream you ate?”
“Don’t...know... Lila ordered.” She gripped his hand tightly and pulled herself up, pulling out her phone and dialing Lila’s number.
“Alya!” She could hear the smile in her voice. “Adrien, come on over, it’s Alya.”
“Hey Alya.”
“What... was in the ice cream?”
“The ice cream I ordered? I can’t remember... hazelnuts, I think?”
She glanced at Nino with wide eyes. She was allergic to hazelnuts. Not enough to do anything serious, but enough that she had a little trouble breathing afterwards. That must also explain that weird stuff she saw too; oxygen deprivation.
Nino grabbed her arm, fully intent on taking her to her room to recuperate for the rest of the night. She allowed him to, still a little shaken.
A sleek fox sat in front of a broken-eyed ghost. So?
“She’s not here.” Anya replied, glaring at the ceiling. She looked back down, her defiant eyes turning sad. “She’s not here.”
Not true. She’s here, and she’s safe and sound in her room.
Her broken eyes lit up and she floated purposefully towards the best room in the home.
Not yet you don’t! Finny hovered in front of the ghost. She’s sleeping and you won’t bother her!
The ghost nodded forlornly and dissipated.
That settles it, doesn’t it? Grace asked once the ghost was gone
Yep, Allegra moved forwards. These students are helping them pass on. Once they impart their knowledge, and scare them straight, they get their free will back, to haunt or help who they choose.
It’s weird though, isn’t it? Finny mused. How just one word could have changed everything? If Anny had just lied to her, none of this will be happening.
But she didn’t. Allegra reminded him softly. None of them did, and this is the price they pay.
Yeah... Finny flew low. Hey Allegra?
Yeah, Fin?
She’s here. Giddiness oozed from his voice.
Yeah, Allegra stared at the hallway leading to the girl that gave their lives purpose again, she is.

Checking Sources
I’m taking a stab at the trope I’ve seen all over the place recently. But with a different twist. Oneshot - might continue if I get the desire.
“Ladybug?”
Paris’ spotted heroine jumped slightly after being pulled from her thoughts. She’d been staring out over the city’s glittering lights, lost to the maelstrom of voices and recalled memories swarming her mind with a thoughtful (at least she hoped it was) frown on her lips. So much so, that she hadn’t noticed when her leather-clad partner had shown up to sit next to her on a night he was supposed to be taking off.
When the hell had he gotten there? She wondered, looking around quickly for any indication of how long she’d been stuck in her own head.
“Hey Chaton, what are you doing out here? It’s my night to patrol.” She asked as another entirely panicked thought came to mind - that she’d been so dazed she’d missed the tell-tale signs of an Akuma.
But, before she could freak out any further, she took in Chat’s relative ease - or at least, he didn’t look like he was on the verge of jumping into a fight. He did seem apprehensive, though. She could tell in the way it tensed and squeezed his shoulders together like he wanted to be close, but wouldn’t dare come in contact with her.
Which made her wonder if she’d said or done anything recently to give him the idea he was overstepping his bounds. Or maybe he was mad at her for something? And wasn’t that just the icing on the cake that was her day?
First, Lila had caused a major scene that got Marinette detention for the rest of the week (it all happened so fast, she barely remembers what the hell had even happened). Now she was having a panic attack over whether her partner was mad at her for something she didn’t remember doing? Who else was she going to piss off today?
“What’s your stance on sharing your identity?”
Panic attack on momentary pause, a dark brow shot up at the question, and if she wasn’t so wary of the way he’d said it with that uncomfortable look on his face, she probably would have been angry. But he seemed so off tonight that it was throwing her usual emotions for a loop. So, choosing not to go off on her partner, she sighed heavily, trying to keep her focus on him despite the bubbling irritation, “Chat, I’m sorry, but we’ve talked about this. Our identities are a secret for a reason.”
For the first time since he sat down (she thinks), she sees him glance her way if only slightly. The uncomfortable look on his face had softened a bit but he still has something unreadable in his eyes that makes Ladybug anxious, “So... you’ve never shared your identity? With anyone? Not accidentally or otherwise?”
If she didn’t know any better, she’d say his words were a little accusatory.
Which, okay first off, what the fuck? And second, why was he suddenly giving her the third degree?
Again, though, the entire display was throwing her and she knew she had to be rational about this.
“No. Of course not. I promised you didn’t I? Once Hawkmoth was defeated, you would be the first person I told.” She stated as calmly and resolutely as she possibly can. She’d been clear from the start where she stood on the subject.
As soon as the words left her mouth, Chat Noir visibly relaxed. Shoulders slumping and a breath heaving from his chest as he nodded, “Right. Right, of course.” He finally managed to turn to look at her and the discomfort was quickly hidden by a small smile.
The shift in his attitude was almost as disconcerting as his arrival.
“What is this about, Chatton?”
That smile faltered a bit as he looked away from her again, “There’s this-” he began but his words died before he shook his head, “No, it’s - it’s nothing. Sorry for bothering you about this. It was stupid.”
Chat made to stand, but Ladybug caught his wrist before he could get away, “Obviously not if it brought you out here as upset as you looked. I know I can be a real stickler about the secret identities thing, but Chat, I’m not doing this to hurt you. I promise!” She implored, feeling like she’d missed something major. “If you’re being hurt or-”
Blonde hair flew as he shook his head quickly, “No, no. Nothing like that. Really. I know why you do. I won’t pretend it doesn’t suck, but I get it. Really, I do.” He tried to assure her, and while it did seem like he understood and he was being honest with her, he was still hiding something. Something that had driven him to come out and ask her these strange questions.
“Then what was all of this about?”
He had the decency to look apologetic at least as the corners of his mouth pulled up and he shook his head again, “It’s too personal - talking about it might give me away, Bugaboo, but I really am sorry about this. I didn’t mean to upset you.”
Ladybug’s eyes darted back and forth as she watched him closely, but eventually, hesitantly, she let go of his wrist and allowed him to get up.
The whole conversation left an unsettling anxiousness over her and a rather uncomfortable tenseness in the air between them as he backed away and saluted before she even had the chance to say anything - disappearing into the night.
That unease followed her home and through her restless sleep and when she woke up the next morning, she couldn’t help but let it consume her thoughts. Distracting her as she made her way to class earlier than usual.
Distracting her so much, in fact, that she almost didn’t notice the crowd gathered around two individuals crammed into her usual seat next to Alya giggling and talking loudly.
Almost.
As much as she hated it, Marinette had developed something of a sixth sense for the Italian exchange student Lila Rossi. A personal radar to warn her of the liar’s presence.
And it was going off big time.
It wasn’t uncommon for Lila to try and steal her spot when she could. Usually, it resulted in some sort of argument between Marinette and Alya when her supposed best friend defended the other girl for just wanting to hang out, and why didn’t she try being nice to the girl for once?
This time, though, Marinette was quickly made aware of three things:
1. Lila wasn’t alone.
2. Whoever this other girl was, she and Lila were already very close and that didn’t bode well for anyone - especially Marinette.
3. Adrien, who was an unfortunate captive in the crowd around his desk, looked really uncomfortable - more so than usual as he openly frowned at the desktop in front of him, trying not to associate with the things going on around him.
What the hell was going on? Marinette had only been gone from class for one afternoon!
Alya was the first to notice her entrance to the class, giving her an unsure look from her seat (she had been pretty mad at her yesterday for whatever it was that landed her detention for the week), causing a ripple effect as Lila and her ‘guest’ looked up at her too, quieting down and catching everyone else’ attention.
The unfamiliar girl sized the noirette up before speaking, “Is this the girl you were telling me about?”
Lila put on her biggest, fakest, puppy-dog eyes and nodded softly, watching Marinette like she might lunge at her any second now.
Like parting the red sea, the unfamiliar girl stood from her place at Marinette’s desk and the crowd around her gave her room to move, allowing her to make her way to stand haughtily before her. The girl was a tad taller than Marinette, but the platform sandals she wore made it so Marinette would need to look up at her slightly. She had dark, almost black, shoulder-length hair that hung loosely, but the color of her brows made it clear that it wasn’t natural. She’d dyed it, recently too, if the lack of root discoloration was any indication.
Marinette watched her approach with a raised brow, unimpressed by the superior gleam to the girl’s blue-green eyes.
“I heard you’ve been bullying my best friend.” She said, authoritatively, her hands propped on hips clad in Gabriel branded jeans.
There was a collective gasp among her classmates like this was some big reveal in a soap opera.
The class rep merely blinked a moment, brow still raised because who the fuck even was this girl and why was she squaring up to her like she even had a chance? Actually, no, she didn’t care.
“I’m sorry, who are you?” Marinette asked, but her tone gave away how few fucks she actually gave about the girl’s answer.
“For your information, it’s Bianca. I just transferred yesterday. But don’t change the subject. I’ve heard that you’ve been bullying my best friend Lila.”
Before Bianca had a chance to say any more, Marinette gave her a deadpanned look, “Well, sorry to inform you, but your best friend is a liar.”
Lila could immediately be heard breaking out into sobs somewhere in the background but Marinette was quickly losing interest in this conversation.
“I don’t think she is. I think you’re the liar. In fact, I think people like you are what’s wrong with Paris. Always trying to hurt others so they get Akumatized and I have to clean up your mess.”
I’m sorry, what?
That had Bluebell eyes snapping to focus on the girl in front of her. Interest piqued.
“I’m giving you one chance. Stop being a menace to society or my partner and I will take action.”
There was quite a bit to unpack from that. Like... a lot. Menace to society? Partner? Take action?
Who did this girl think she was? Ladybug?
The one thing that seemed clear to Marinette after reviewing the word choices in her own head a few times, was that this was not a friendly recommendation.
“Are you threatening me?”
She probably should have sounded a little angrier. In fact, anything would have been better than bored. But she just couldn’t find the energy.
A triumphant smile spread over Bianca’s face, as she disregarded the lack of fear in Marinette’s voice, “I don’t threaten people. But that is a promise.”
Marinette was left to blink at her a little longer.
Because what even was happening here? What on earth had she done that the universe saw fit to drop this steaming pile of bull on her morning?
And why did it feel like the girl was hinting at something she wasn’t picking up on? Why was her body telling her that she needed to react while her brain was taking its sweet time to catch up with everything?
“Dude,” someone from the peanut gallery stage whispered, finding it in their heart to give her a helping hand, “That’s Ladybug!”
Lila shushed them loudly, “Guys, not everyone is supposed to know! We don’t know who we can trust!”
Oh.
oohhhhh!
Wow. When she’d made that comment in her head before, she’d been joking but... seriously? Did she really just?
“You’re Ladybug?” Marinette asked, wanting to clarify and make absolutely certain that she hadn’t just imagined that last forty-five seconds of her life.
Bianca’s chin raised, literally looking down her nose at Marinette, “Normally I wouldn’t share that information with someone like you.”
Behind her, Adrien stood from his seat looking absolutely livid, but Marinette barely had a moment to even register the malice in the gaze he pointed at Bianca before -
Pfft...
Marinette covered her mouth with her hand to stop it, but nothing could hold back the onslaught now.
They were giggles at first, tumbling from her in waves as she tried to clear her throat and treat this seriously. But before long, she couldn’t help it. She was laughing out loud, doubling over, completely ignorant (maybe not completely, but she didn’t care at this point) to the looks of confusion on the faces around her.
She made the mistake of looking back up at Bianca and that only renewed her laughing fit until it literally brought her to her knees, clutching her sides as she laughed so hard she cried.
Fucking cried.
It was a solid five or six minutes before she could breathe again. Sitting back up, wiping the tears from her eyes, she beamed at the girl standing awkwardly before her, “Wow. Thanks. I really needed that.”
She cleared her throat, clearly unsure of the strange behavior. She couldn’t blame her for that. “I don’t see what’s so funny.”
“All of it. Really.” She stood up from the floor, making a show of dusting off her pants before turning her full attention back on the girl.
Because this was going to be fun.
“So, Ladybug, tell me this; if I’m such a menace to society, why would you entrust me with a miraculous?”
Bianca's smirk faltered, her eyes darting over to Lila for a moment, both of them looking a little lost for words. As was everyone else for that matter.
Even Alya, whose mouth hung open at this revelation. But the reporter flew to her phone, swiping quickly, "when?! There were no new heroes! How do we know you're not lying?"
Oh good. They were playing right into it. One thing you could always count on with sheeple... they always follow.
"Huh, well, then I guess if you can’t believe me at my word, it would be pretty easy to fact check." Her tone was a bit forced on those words and the reporter had the decency to look taken aback, "You could always just ask Ladybug, here."
"Well I-"
"Or you could ask her partner. Seeing as how he saw me transform."
Bianca's mouth snapped shut. It was still hit or miss whether or not Marinette was bluffing. And it's easy to claim something like that when the only other person who could confirm or deny the facts was not present.
This had been Lila’s game the whole time. The difference was, Marinette wasn’t lying.
But neither of them could take that chance.
Because neither of them knew what she knew.
And Ladybug was definitely in this room, but it wasn’t who they all thought it was.
"I asked her to give you a chance. Because I wanted to help you. I thought being a hero would make you a better person. But you just kept bullying me!"
"E-exactly."
Ah, so they were going to go this route, hmm? She could work with that. And given Lila’s proclivity for being Akumatized, maybe she could mess with Hawkmoth too while she was at it.
Because it was only a matter of time before someone was targeted.
"How very generous of you, Lila," She said in her sweetest voice possible, but even to her own ears, it sounded fake. How did Lila keep this up all the time? “But, that’s not what you said on the tower when we fought that Akuma together.”
"What did you think I would say when you were obviously unfit to be a Hero! I didn’t want to risk you turning on me.”
“You didn’t think I was unfit when I helped save you and Chat Noir.” This time, it felt a little more realistic when she put the hurt look on her face, glancing away.
In the process, she caught sight of Adrien giving her a strange look. One she couldn’t really put a name to. But it was different than all of her other classmates. Why did he seem so much more confused than the others?
The girl scoffed, "leave my partner out of this." She demanded, and it felt like a desperate attempt at redirecting the conversation.
Fine. She could work with that too.
"You... do know that your 'partner' is my best friend, right?" She turned an apologetic look to Alya she only half meant, "sorry Als, but - you know," Marinette pointed between the two of them indicating the distance that had grown between them. They weren't nearly as close as they'd used to be. And while they were still friends, Marinette had a hard time categorizing her as her 'best friend'.
And the implication wasn't wasted on the reporter either. She was left staring wide with bewilderment and hurt. But Marinette was less positive it was because of not being best friends anymore and more that she hadn't told Alya that she spent time with one of the heroes she loved to chase.
"My partner would never hang out with someone like you."
God, she was just a broken record, wasn’t she? Did she really still think she was bluffing?
With a scoff and a soft shake of her head, Marinette pulled her phone from her pocket and swiped through her pictures until she found what she was looking for.
She wasnt trying to be smug about the way she flipped her phone around so she could show the class, but she definitely couldn't help the little smirk that pulled at her lips as the class gasped again, pulling closer so they could study the photo.
A photo of her and Chat Noir sitting a little too close together on her chaise lounge. Marinette sticking her tongue out at the camera, while chat gave the overly kawaii victory peace sign over his left eye like he was straight out of an anime. It was one of her favorites. They'd spent nearly the whole night binging on shows together after a particularly stressful day. The pictures had been a side effect of too much sugar, not enough sleep, and good company. And for some reason when Chat found out she’d been Multimouse, that increased her ‘coolness factor’ and they had something in common.
Of course, she couldn’t tell him that wasn’t the only thing they had in common.
Either way, it had brought them closer together as friends and they hung out often.
Which was a reprieve given that most of her friends had abandoned her anyway.
As Bianca stared a little blankly at the picture, a number of voices all began to pick up around them.
"You're actually friends with chat noir? That's so cool!"
“Does that mean you hang out with the other heroes too?”
“What is Chat Noir really like?”
"Wait, then that means you really were a hero? I thought heroes had to keep their identities secret."
That’s the one she’d been waiting on. Quickly silencing the others with a pointed look back at Bianca, "They do. But I'm not a hero anymore, am I Ladybug?"
"I-I..."
"Why was it again that I’m not allowed to be Multimouse again?" She put a thoughtful finger to her chin, but she felt her own fire building in her core, “I’m pretty sure it was nothing to do with being a menace to society.”
She tapped her chin a few more times, looking around deep in thought. Catching another glimpse of Adrien studying her carefully, but she refused to let his perfectness distract her because fuck these people.
Fuck the high road.
If he was going to be mad at her for standing up for her alter-ego then fuck him too.
But he didn’t seem mad.
In fact, as soon as she locked eyes with him, a slight smirk pulled at his lips. It was roguish and totally out of place on his angelic face, but goddamn did it do things for her.
But the smirk paired with the slightly raised brow aimed at her said, ‘Yes, what did Ladybug say?’
It’s sarcastic and playful and familiar in ways her heart is not ready to admit.
But that would have to come later.
Marinette spun back to the imposter, narrowing her eyes dangerously, "Oh right! Because I'd accidentally revealed my identity to Chat Noir. Because identities are supposed to remain a secret."
"W-well th-there are exceptions!" Bianca tries to defend, but Marinette isn’t going to let her.
“No, I think you, just like your supposed best friend, are a liar. You’re not Ladybug. You don’t know a damn thing about Ladybug. Because if you were, you’d already have been beaten. You’ve been in this classroom all of what, one day? And the entire class already knows your ‘identity’? We’re all lucky you aren’t one of the heroes, otherwise, Hawkmoth would already have won!”
She was fuming now. All of the emotions finally catching up with her. She thrust an accusatory finger at Bianca, making the girl stumble back slightly, “You don’t know a damn thing about what it takes to be a hero. What they have to sacrifice to keep people safe. Besides, Ladybug and Chat Noir don’t even know each other's identities - why the hell would Ladybug share something like that with a classroom full of people who’ve been Akumatized at least once and not share that with her own partner?!”
Whatever fear she’d instilled in the new girl quickly swapped for something much closer to fury as she reclaimed her balance and advanced on Marinette with a fire burning in her eyes. “How dare you call me a liar, you little fucking brat!”
Surprised at the outburst, Marinette didn’t move when she saw Bianca raise her hand to strike her, instead, closing her eyes and bracing for the blow.
A blow that never connected.
A gasp brought Marinette to peak open her eyes before they widened at the scene.
Bianca stood where she had previously, hand raised and poised to strike. But just behind her, Adrien had moved - impossibly quick, seriously when the hell had she gotten up? - and grabbed the girl’s arm, hand clutching tightly at her, keeping her still.
“A-Adrien!”
“That’s enough.” He hissed at her, voice low and threatening. “If it wasn’t clear before, it definitely is now. You’re not Ladybug. She would never raise a hand to a civilian like that!”
“B-but - !” Lila tried to come to her ‘friend’s’ defense but was silenced when he shot her an equally terrifying look.
“I’ve had enough of you trying to turn everyone against Marinette. I knew you both were lying when you ‘accidentally’ revealed Ladybug’s identity to me yesterday, but I didn’t have proof to prove it. You’ve been lying to everyone about everything!”
Wait... The way he’d said accidentally... why did it seem so familiar?
Her thoughts of the blonde-haired, green-eyed model were very suddenly replaced with thoughts of a similarly blonde-haired, green-eyed superhero who’d come looking for her on his night off, asking if she’d ever ‘revealed herself, accidentally or otherwise’.
“Adrien! Y-you’re hurting me!”
Marinette’s eyes were drawn to the boy’s hand, still tightly clutching Bianca’s in a vice grip that would likely leave bruises.
But that’s not what she was focused on. Instead, it was the familiar shape of his silver ring that drew her eye. Familiar because she’d seen him wear it since the first day she’d met him and never took it off.
Except for the day they’d done the shoot for her website.
The day she and Chat had to switch Miraculouses.
Adrien.
Adrien was Chat Noir.
Her kitty had been there the entire time.
That’s why he’d been so angry. That’s why he’d looked so upset. That’s why he’d come looking for her and asking such strange questions!
Because Lila and her lackey had chosen the one person who’d know for a fact that they were lying.
And if she thought she couldn’t love him any more than she already did, she was sorely mistaken.
“What is going on in here?!”
Great.
She didn’t pay much attention to the chaos that ensued after Madame Bustier had walked in the room. Lila and Bianca had claimed Marinette attacked and Adrien had stepped in to help her and they were both sent to the hall because a number of people started speaking up and coming to their defense, suddenly not blinded by Lila’s lies any longer.
But now, she was standing in the hall next to her crush and her partner.
“I’m so sorry Marinette.”
Her thoughts came to a startling halt as she turned wide eyes on him.
“I shouldn’t have ever told you not to call her out. I was stupid. I just hope you’ll forgive me someday.”
Marinette couldn’t help the smile that pulled at her lips, because how could she not have noticed? Model or not, that was the heart of her partner beating in that beautiful body of his.
“There’s nothing to forgive, Adrien. Besides, at least you checked your sources.” She chuckled, finding so much irony in that statement. If he hadn’t come looking for her, she probably wouldn’t have put it together.
He turned a confused look on her.
The smile she turned on him in return was brighter than she’d given anyone in some time, “I told you, didn’t I? You’d be the first to know.”

A group chat AU I thought of this will involve only the Miraculous Ladybug show, with very minor mentions of other shows. Some backstory information I feel are important. Marinette, Marc, and Mireille are cousins in this through their mothers; Sabine, Lian, and Mei. Marinette is Chinese, Italian, and French, Marc is Chinese and French, and Mireille is Chinese, Japanese, and French. This is not Adrinette, I decided to give Lukanette some love!
                                                   Diamonds
                                                    10:46 am
BlueDiamond: Do you think I could get away with it?
GreenDiamond:????
GreenDiamond: Mar? Get away with what?
BrownDiamond: Depends. Are you doing it by yourself, with us, or are you going to call Bāchan’s right hand?
GreenDiamond: Mir? Wait why would Mar call Fengge?
                                                  11:07 am
GreenDiamond: Hey! You two respond already!
BrownDiamond: Calm cousin, calm. Mar is contemplating taking care of Lila Rossi, you know the girl that threatened her in the bathroom.
GreenDiamond: Oh.
GreenDiamond: WAIT!!!1!
GreenDiamond: No fair! She can’t call Fengge I called dibs on ruining Rossi!
BrownDiamond: Mar gets the final decision, after all she is the one being targeted.
BlueDiamond: I am not calling Fengge, I don’t want her dead, I just want to ruin her future. Besides Fengge would call Nonna, and I’d rather not take the chance of us being pulled out of school.
BrownDiamond: Very true, but I doubt Bāchan would pull us out. Lila is only a minor threat and she knows we can definitely handle her. If the snake goes too far however, she will step in.
GreenDiamond: Tru…
BrownDiamond: Stop butchering words or else.
GreenDiamond: Common little cuz be traught.
*BrownDiamond took a Screenshot of chat*
BrownDiamond: I am showing my Kachann.
BlueDiamond: She did warn you.
GreenDiamond: D’: NooOo dont message auntie!!!1!!
BrownDiamond: Already sent.
GreenDiamond: You hate me.
                                                  Cheng Main Family
                                                            11:38 am
Tiàncái: First, return to your lessons. Second, Marc the penthouse at 4 exact. After reading those texts I’ve decided you need a two hour lesson.
BrownDiamond: Yes Kachann.
BlueDiamond: Sorry Auntie.
GreenDiamond:Understood Auntie.
TopChef: How bad was it?
Tiàncái: Worse than you fake butchering other languages to mess with others.
MamaOrso- My Marinette was not a part of it correct?
Tiàncái- No just our nephew sister.
Heiress- Why am I not surprised, at least he is only doing it with his cousins.
Matriarch- My Diamonds know that they are not allowed to butcher languages like their Great Uncle in front of others. I would not worry too much, my darlings. Now all of you return to work. I have a meeting to attend.
MamaOrso- Yes Māmā
Tiàncái- Understood, have a good meeting.
Heiress- I will see you later Māmā.
TopChef-Talk to you all later my girls.
                                                  Diamonds
                                                     1:13 pm
BlueDiamond: Juleka and Rose are sitting with me in the back now.
BrownDiamond: Oh?
BlueDiamond: Yes they came up and apologized to me during lunch. They both asked for a chance to earn my trust again.
GreenDiamond: And your decision Mar?
BlueDiamond: I am giving them a second chance, both apologized and explained why they didn’t choose sides. No information about Lila too, she is making big promises. For instance she told Kitty Section she’d introduce them to Jagged Stone.
BrownDiamond:...Isn’t Juleka Jagged’s daughter?
BlueDiamond: Yes.
BrownDiamond: Oh no.
BlueDiamond: What?
GreenDiamond: This is Miss Mendeleiev both of you return to your lessons and put your phones away.
                                                  1:28 pm
BrownDiamond: Nice job Marc, next time control your laughter.
BlueDiamond: Really?
                                                  2:49 pm
BlueDiamond: Mir go out for ice cream? We can go find André.
BrownDiamond: Well I don’t have to be in the studio today and was only planning to hang out with friends. Can we invite some others?
BlueDiamond: Oh definitely! I’ll ask Rose, Juleka, and Luka!
BrownDiamond: I am just going to invite Aurore and Jean.
BlueDiamond: Hoping to get complimentary cones cousin dearest?
BrownDiamond: Shut up I just like his face.
BlueDiamond: Don’t you lie to me. You have attended every single magical show he has done, and even promoted him once on MAC’s Twitter.
BrownDiamond: Shut up, your one to talk Mar. Who do you have a crush on, Model boy or Guitar boy?
                                                  3:10 pm
BrownDiamond: Mar?
BrownDiamond: Did I upset you?
BrownDiamond: Marinette?
BlueDiamond: Sorry
BlueDiamond: No you did not upset me. Lila pointed out I was texting and Bustier started lecturing me on being a good role model.
BrownDiamond: Sorry, my locker in five?
BlueDiamond: Mhm, see you soon.
GreenDiamond: I got my phone back!
GreenDiamond: Unfair! You guys can’t get ice cream while I’m stuck in lessons!
BlueDiamond: [Image.png]
GreenDiamond: Why’d you send me a picture of you and Mir looking around???
BrownDiamond: Trying to find the fucks we give…
GreenDiamond: ༼ ༎ຶ ෴ ༎ຶ༽
BlueDiamond: Ew. Stop.
GreenDiamond:༼ ༎ຶ ෴ ༎ຶ༽
BlueDiamond: Ugh.

                                            Diamonds
                                               4:20 pm
BrownDiamond: Not.A.Word.
BlueDiamond: Burnt caramel for his eyes, and cotton candy for his unique tricks~ Blackberry for her beautiful hair, and black walnut for her unusual connections.
BrownDiamond: One, perhaps we should be concerned with what André seems to know about us.
BrownDiamond: Two, Blue moon for his hair and eyes, and super madness for his crazy life, Blackberry for her hair and cherry with chips for her secret.
BlueDiamond: Mmm André is a meta I wouldn’t worry his love is ice cream and bringing soulmates together.
BlueDiamond: Luka has confessed to me though, I told him I wasn’t ready.
BrownDiamond: Still stuck on Adrien?
BlueDiamond: No
BlueDiamond: I thought he’d take my side when he said that we were in it together. The moment he didn’t speak up when I was expelled pretty much made that crush, crash.
BlueDiamond: He is sweet but he has been too sheltered, he is trying to treat Lila like she is a tabloid.
BrownDiamond: You are not wrong. So...Luka?
BlueDiamond: Yea, I’m thinking Luka.

Luka: Dad how did you get Penny to fall in love with you?
Jagged: I ask myself that every single day kiddo. Every single day.
Luka: I’m screwed.
Jagged: Marinette?
Luka: Marinette.
Jagged: Penny says to just be yourself! My rockstar Mari is a smart girl and her crush on the Agreste boy has slowly disappeared...yes it would be very rock an roll to have her as a daughter-in-law. That’s it Luka! You have to win Marinette’s heart over!
Luka: You’re not helping Dad.

                                       Penny and Luka
                                               4:47 pm
Penny: Stop asking him Luka.
Penny: Just be yourself, Marinette would never want you to change yourself. Give her a little more time and just be there for her.
Luka: Thanks Penny, how did Dad win you over anyway?
Penny: ...I have a thing for loud sometimes idiotic men.
Luka: Awe, I am never telling him that.
Penny: I’m joking, I’m joking one night he rolled over and was just barely awake. He didn’t know I was awake, he whispered that I was the love of his life and that he wished his mom had a chance to meet me.
Luka: Awe. I’m telling Marinette that.
Penny: Oh, definitely would get you brownie points, she loves sweet love stories.
                                                    Adrinette
                                                     6:39 pm
Group name changed from Adrinette to Girls GC
Lila Rossi added by BossFox
BossFox changed Lila Rossi to TrueBeauty
BossFox: Hey girls I decided to make this the drama free girls group chat.
PurpleBean: Drama free???
PinkBean: Why not create a new group chat than Alya? Also if this is the girls group chat where is Marinette?
BunnxXx changed name to WhyAmIHere
BossFox: Like I said drama free girls
TrueBeauty: Awe Alya! You added me to a group chat where I don’t have to worry about upsetting Marinette!
TrueBeauty: That’s so sweet!!
WhyAmIHere: Alya this is our get Mari with Sunshine boy gc.
TrueBeauty: Alya you haven’t told them yet?
BossFox: Don’t worry Lila I just wanted you to be here when I did!
BossFox: Girls we are canceling Adrinette.
LoveBug: What? Why?
BossFox: I was telling Lila about all our attempts and how ‘in love’ with Adrien Marinette is. Well Lila pointed out that everything she is doing are red flags for a stalker!
LoveBug: What?! But Marinette would never!
PinkBean: Are you serious?
WhyAmIHere: Oh boy.
TureBeauty: No listen please, I’m not lying!
TrueBeauty: Alya told me everything she has done! She has his entire schedule, pictures of him all over her wall, one he doesn’t even know exist! She has stolen his phone before and is constantly trying to get alone time with him! Not to mention she has planned out their life with two kids and a hamster!
TureBeauty: She is stalking Adrien and convinced you guys to help her!
LoveBug: Oh my gosh
LoveBug: I can’t believe
LoveBuv: All this time Marinette has been
WhyAmIHere: Alright ya-no I’m so done.
WhyAmIHere: First of Marinette HAD a crush on Adrien. One that you blew out of proportion Alya.
BossFox: What?!
BossFox: I did not!
WhyAmIHere: You were constantly trying to force her into telling Adrien when she clearly wasn’t ready, and always dragging us into helping set up ‘dates’
WhyAmIHere: Two Marinette is a fashion designer. Have you seriously never noticed all the pictures are right above when she works on designs? They are a part of her fashion board Alya.
WhyAmIHere: Also the part with the phone, I’m hello? Marinette has always been like that, she does it when she’s half asleep most of the time. But in the end she always returns the person's phone before the end of the day!
WhyAmIHere: Also we have all seen those photos, if Marinette was seriously stalking him don’t you think the pictures would be inappropriate? They are either from magazines or from class outings.
LoveBug: Alix you have to admit it is a little weird that Marinette has gone this far
LoveBug: Lila is a model too and she knows so many famous people. I have no doubt she knows more about stalking than we do.
WhyAmIHere: srs.
TrueBeauty: Alix you have to listen to me! Marinette is sick and she needs help or else she’ll be a danger to Adrien and us!
WhyAmIHere: No. I’m done. Marinette is just a teenager with a CRUSH and you are just blowing it out of proportion.
Alix Kubdel has left Girls GC.
TrueBeauty: Rose Juleka you believe us right?
TrueBeauty: Please Mari really needs help!
PinkBean: No we don’t…
BossFox: WHAT!?
PurpleBean: We don’t believe you. Besides, Marinette barely has a crush on Adrien anymore. I’d ask if you’ve seen her room but she stopped inviting you up Alya.
PinkBean: And she doesn’t like Lila so Lila has never even seen her room.
BossFox: It isn’t like you guys would actually know anything! Just after school today Marinette threatened Lila to stay away from Adrien! And she got physical!
LoveBug: oh gosh! Lila are you okay?
TrueBeauty: Alya! I didn’t want anyone to know!
BossFox: But they need to know Lila especially since they keep siding with her!
PinkBean: Really?
PinkBean: When after school?
TrueBeauty: She attacked me around 4 today!
PurpleBean: oh rlly?
PinkBean: That doesn’t make sense though because Marinette was with us today at four. We left the school together.
TrueBeauty: This is what I was afraid of! Marinette has twisted you two into lying for her! See Alya this is why I didn’t want anyone to know!
BossFox: Don’t worry I’ll handle this girl.
Juleka Couffaine was removed by BossFox.
PinkBean: Alya?! Really?!
Rose Lavillant was removed by BossFox.
BossFox: Alright girls we have to help keep Adrien safe from his Stalker!
LoveBug: I’ll tell Ivan, I’m sure him and the other boys will be more than happy to help!
TrueBeauty: oh I don’t know what I would do without you girls!
                                                   Diamonds
                                                    8:15 pm
BlueDiamond: Alix just showed up at my house with Calendula Pink Surprise.
GreenDiamond: Oh? Tikki must be in love.
BlueDiamond: She is, hasn't left the plant since I placed it in my room. I’d send a picture but she obviously wouldn’t show up.
BrownDiamond: Pray tell cousin dearest why did she gift you with flowers?
GreenDiamond: Mir is having another Pride and Prejudice movie marathon…
BrownDiamond: It is a gift to the world!
BlueDiamond: Yes yes one of the best books out there we know.
BlueDiamond: She apologized for everything, also, she may know I’m Ladybug.
BrownDiamond: Well duh, Calendula? Ladybugs love those flowers.
BlueDiamond: She told me that she honestly just thought it was a little rivalry between Lila and me. That is until Alya made a group chat purposely excluding me.
GreenDiamond: Really?
BlueDiamond: Mhm, she said it would be their ‘drama free’ group chat. Not the beat part though.
BrownDiamond: Go on, I've got my movie paused.
BlueDiamond: Apparently I am stalking Adrien and they need to protect him from me.
GreenDiamond:...
BrownDiamond:...
BrownDiamond: My god Marc I can hear you from my room, breathe!
BlueDiamond: I thought the penthouse walls were soundproof?
BrownDiamond: They are.
GreenDiamond: cant breathe
BlueDiamond: I’ve done it.
BlueDiamond: I’ve killed our cousin.
BrownDiamond: Sometimes I wished you’d live here with us Mar.
BlueDiamond: I am thinking about it.
BlueDiamond: Mama and Papa have told me before I can, and it’ll be much easier to avoid Alya.
BrownDiamond: [Image.png]
BlueDiamond: oh my gods breathe
BlueDiamond: is that..
BlueDiamond: Is that Nathaniel’s hoodie?
BrownDiamond: he has rolled over and hid his face in his pillow.
BrownDiamond: Should I tickle the information out of him?
BlueDiamond: hmm permission granted
BrownDiamond: [Video]
BlueDiamond: Awe Marc!!
BrownDiamond: I am outraged he has been dating you for so long and never asked our permission!
BlueDiamond: Mireille give Nathaniel a break, besides not many people know that we are cousins
GreenDiamond: Actually he didn’t know until tonight that we are. Also Mar, expect something from him soon, he knew the truth but didn’t know how to apologize to you.
BrownDiamond: So he is the reason you left the penthouse so quick after your lessons!
GreenDiamond: Shut up Mir!
BlueDiamond: Get some sleep you two, I’ll talk over moving to the penthouse with Mama tomorrow.
BrownDiamond: Goodnight Mar
GreenDiamond: Wait really?!
GreenDiamond: Mar!!
GreenDiamond: You torture me so!
BrownDiamond: Go to sleep Marc.
GreenDiamond: Fine I’ll just ambush her tomorrow.
