TW, Stigma and ableism against those with ASPD, and a very racist person:

So today, I got this “lovely” message in my inbox, in regards to the BLM and Stop Asian Hate post I made almost a year ago:

Image desc: an account with a blurred out profile picture do due being an explicit account, username “letsdodavidt,” comments, “a true sociopath…..cheers,” with no punctuation, or capital letters. A true sign of intelligence.

I’m response to that, I would just like to say, no. I am not diagnosed with ASPD, and I don’t know how the disorder relates to me saying that the lives of every person, not just straight, white, cis, abeled, men, matter.

I know what this person commented was meant to be insulting, meant to prove something, but all that it proves to me, is that he’s an abelist, racist, price of inhumane garbage.

And another thing. What did the think he was going to get out of commenting this? Did he think that I was going to cry, because obviously I have a heart, and he doesn’t?

Did he think he’d get fame? Buddy, your account is invisible to other people. If I didn’t post this, I’d be the only one to see this comment. No one else could see anything of his. I’m the only one who could really say anything about this and be heard. Must suck for no one else to hear you, or agree with you, but I’m not an abelist racist who posts sensitive content against the guidelines; I’ve never been punished for it, so I wouldn’t know.

To those who suffer with ASPD, your disorder should not be used as an insult. I am so sorry that it is. Just like any other disorder, it’s hard to deal with, and honestly, I probably don’t know half the pain you go through because of people like this. You could still care about other lives as well. Living with ASPD does not mean that you are terrible, or a horrible person, and if you ever need to talk, I’m here. I love you <3.

I’m using this person as an example of what you should not be like. This is not to get him any sort of fame or notoriety, that is not my intention. I just wanted to show the price of garbage that could even be on a site like Tumblr, that’s normally accepting. I hope this humbled him a bit. He sure needs it.

I've been in California for just over a month now, so here's list of all the things I love about America:

The people are very polite and eager to help

Designing a town in a grid system and dividing each avenue into numbers and letters makes sense for figuring out where everything is. As does the freeway having the exits divided into avenues and each one is a mile apart so you know when your exit is (its logical)

Plus sized manquins in clothing stores (body diversity win)

Aircon in the house (I will never go back to using an electric fan again)

Watching the sunrise over the desert

Travel sized books (genius!)

International food is so much easier to find (I finally understand why so many cooking channels are like "just go to your local asain market")

Fandom merch is also so much easier to find. There were so many shops in this one mall that were all deidcated to anime. Even stuff I didn't think would get much attention has at least a T-shirt. Hocus Pocus stuff was everywhere! Who even remembers that movie???

The food - Real mexican food, deli meat sandwiches, olive garden breadsticks, pumpkin spiced everything, so many different types of cereal

Thin duvets that I can snuggle up in on the sofa :3

And for balance here is a list of things I miss about the UK

Pepsi Max Cherry (California only has regular and diet)

Good chocolate (the Halloween candy I gave out was bad and those kids deserved better)

The standard of driving

Pavements (streets in America just randomly stop existing and it's not wheelchair friendly. Where am I suppose to walk???)

Public transport/the ability to just walk to where I need to be

The price on the tag is the price you pay (Hidden fees can die in a fire)

The ability to communicate with just a look (British people don't like talking ok.)

Green grass and rain and hills and winding roads.

The DVLA (The DMV can suck my dick. They wanted me to come back, to show them some paperwork that was missing from my first visit. Not post it, or email them a copy. They wanted me to go through the whole queue process AGAIN just so I can hold up a smog certificate to this miserable employee. Why do you hate modern technology? Just put everything online???)

Car dealerships (I'm not lying when I say California traumatized me. They stand outside the building like vultures, they won't let you wander around the lot at your own leisure, they ask too many questions, even when you tell them what you want they still want to show you other cars, they won't shut up about how much they care about you and getting you the right vehicle (stop lying to my face you creep), the guy showing you the car can't sell the car so you meet his manager who also wants to have a chat with you, and they're just creepy. They're not even trying to be professional. They're just creepy with their creepy ass smiles as they walk you to your car)

Also the original object show BFDI was made by two asain guys while the main “white” guy is Jewish and there’s a lot of LGBT+ members of the II team.

When they learned that one of the 4 white guy was in supporting a friend who is an awful person they immediately fired him.

October 6th [Lovecraft Country Season 1 E1 Sundown] recommendation & Werewolf by Night Day 20

In light of white ignorance and decent jeapordy show framing the first watch for today is episode one of lovecraft country a TV series by a black woman show runner that recently was revealed to be controversial for its handling of the actors mental health in dealing with the subject matter. The series was based on a book written by a white man about a fictional supernatural depiction of the negro motorist green book

The jeapordy question /answer was

The 1948 edition of this publication said “There will be a day … in the near future when this guide will not have to be published”

I'm not recommending the green book film as a watch not only because it's not horror but because it's Wack.

The actors mental health was at risk because the subject matter was lethal racism and despite the problems on set to a canceled show I believe hbo brought some of the best content on the subject matter and the novel it's based on is good.

The first episode sums up the bulk of the books plot

(After an Easter egg of the youngest drawing a premonistic like drawing of monsters on their road map where they plan to visit)

Our main character is a writer for the green book and as such has to scout locations in the south rumored to be safe for black people to travel; stop eat get gas sleep, get car repair during Jim crow

Are they cool or are they going to murder us? Horror in absolute.

In this first episode they travel down to a diner rumored to be owned and operated by a certain white woman

It is quickly reveled that she WAS the owner until the local fire department burned her shit down possibly murdered her for running a non racist establishment.

They are in a Sundown town they must leave in a hurry. You may consider plot holes why go to a Sundown Town at all? If you are black in the 1940's consider you will eventually run out of gas your car will eventually get a flat and driving through whole states without stopping isn't feasible.

The episode ends with some serious lovecraftian horror but as is both the book the show and my premise is : you think science fiction existential dread is horrifying? racism is worse.

The acting is sublime the costume and set is retro stylized the pacing for this episode alone

What I like to refer to is the

Low speed chase

It's phenomenal in its summation of white supremacy and being Gaslight as a black person in America utter horror then they run into the shoggloths

Breaking the tired trope of shittily running through the woods wide open

Ending beautifully

Werewolf by night

Technical release date Oct 7 but y'alls know I be doing these after midnight
