A Sunday 7

- I woke up choking on my anxiety at about 415. Its money related, and it's very real stuff that's getting more real by the minute. There's options, thankfully, but theres already fallout, and it's not good. I haven't had a late payment in so long that the let down is going to be huge when the first one happens. The good news is that I have another interview tomorrow; its a second interview, and it would be a good job for here and my career track. Plus, the CPKC interview went great on Friday; and while it doesn't start till February, there are other things I am going to make happen if I they keep me as a candidate. Fingers crossed yall, please... I hate feeling like I've done everything right and just failed every way otherwise. #capitalismisawful

2. If you are wondering, a rip track is a train track that is adjacent to a main line train track where work can be performed on rolling stock(train cars) that need repair. The number on the engine in the picture? 667, the neighbour of the beast. Coincidence? I don't know, but I thought it was funny.

3. Our Henry won 3rd place in the gingerbread house in the community building contest. He won 20 bucks and a cardboard house that had to migrate back to our house in the back of my VW. It might have been a win for him, but it was a loss for his playroom. #toomuchjunk

4. Speaking of Henry, prednisone for healing an upper respiratory infection turned him into a lunatic. 2 more pills till we get our somewhat normal child...hopefully.

5. I owe a few of you a note, but please be patient. This time next week I'll finally be done with my BS. Finally... then I'll be able to look at the moon like it was in that slightly odd picture or play my guitar a bit more like the pic in the bottom right.

6. And since everybody on here is doing their year wrapped on Spotify, mine was...well the same 5 bands I've been listening to forever. I figured there would be more Joan Baez in there, or maybe ZZ Ward, or even Mme Swift, but nope. I did get called an alchemist for my musical tastes, and my Canadian friends will appreciate that a town on lower Vancouver Island called Nanaimo(its a cool place) is most likely my musical tastes.

I mean... that says a lot.

7. I'm probably gonna bore yall with saying this, but thanks for all the good energy and love lately. Just reading your blogs has been helping me get out of this funk. And its a hard funk, with other things I can't talk about yet because I'm still trying to make sense of them but yall are helping me so much. “Say that again.” Buck says quietly, even to his own ears sounding almost frantic. His hands twist in the fabric of Tommy’s t-shirt, and pull him as close as possible with their seatbelts on. He needs to get to his place as soon as possible and get enveloped in Tommy, no room for air between them, he just needs him closer, closer, closer.

“Say what?” Tommy teases, lips brushing the shell of Buck’s ear, knowing damn well what Buck wants to hear. 

“You know what.” Buck pulls away slightly, just to meet Tommy’s eyes, and can’t stop a pout that quickly turns into an awed smile. It’s a late evening, the sky is dark, just like the inside of the car, only illuminated by the lights of the city as they’re driving, and Tommy looks so gorgeous. There’s an amused smile playing on his kiss-swollen lips, but even in the dark Buck can see his own desire mirrored in Tommy’s eyes.

“What?” he smirks, leans closer to press a kiss to his lips again. “Baby?” he whispers, and Buck shivers, a sharp gasp escaping him. Oh, he likes this. He likes when Tommy calls him just about anything, in that wonderful voice of his, but this, being called a pet name like this by a man, it’s new and thrilling, and that man being Tommy is just so exhilarating, it makes his racing heart skip a beat, and it only adds to the heat pooling in his stomach. Shit, he needs to get Tommy alone right the fuck now.

Cuban Macaw (Ara tricolor)

Habitat- Cuba

Size (Weight/Length)- 50 cm long

Diet- Seeds; Fruits

Cool Facts- The Cuban macaw was widespread throughout Cuba but, unfortunately, little is known about their behavior. They were thought to have nested in hollow trees and live in small flocks. They most likely ate hard seeds, like palm nuts, and tough fruits, crushing them with their beak. Cuban macaws were originally hunted for their feathers and meat by native peoples but when Europeans arrived in the 15th century, they were prized cagebirds. The macaws were captured alive and shipped off to Europe to be sold as a pet. A massive hurricane was the nail in the coffin and the rest of the macaws were wiped out. Scarlet macaws remain as the Cuban macaw’s closest relative. While scarlet macaws are considered least concern, they are still threatened by the pet trade and hunting in a similar manner to the Cuban macaw. Conservation efforts to prevent illegal poaching for both dead and alive macaws is in effect throughout their native range.

Rating- 11/10 (One of the smallest macaws and one of the most brilliantly colored.)
