Tom buys a guitar shaped like a fish.  When he gets it home, he offers to play some songs for his boys.  He sits on the porch steps and spends a few moments plucking the strings and turning the pegs, and then he looks up and says, “Tune a fish.”  

Sonic stares at him.  “Did you buy a fish-shaped guitar just so you could make a tuna fish joke?”  

Tom says, “Yes,” with a big grin on his face.  

“I can’t believe I let you adopt me,” Sonic groans.

The brothers may not have any plans to expand their business for the most part, but they have made one exception: Green Hills, Montana. Needless to say, the local sheriff and veterinarian's children aren't the weirdest things they've encountered after a recent series of events.

They would need to have a very good reason for going there, as Montana is at least a days travel from Brooklyn in the van 😅

Nevertheless, word somehow reaches Brooklyn that a major pipe job is needed in the town of Green Hills.

For some reason, local plumbers are too scared to go near the place, and the government refuses to send any assistance (something about an electrified creature and its 'brothers').

Since the Bros are desperate for money, Mario agrees at once. After much protesting from Luigi (who claims that it will cost them so much in gas to get up there, when really he's terrified that Green Hills is some kind of creepy ghost place), Mario assures him that they are covered for the journey. And while this will be their only job outside of Brooklyn and Queens, this will be a great opportunity to spread their business name!

So the Bros make the long journey up there (sleeping in the van overnight because they can't afford a hotel).

When they get to Green Hills, they are surprised to find the townspeople are pretty normal and welcoming (if a little eccentric).

And then they find out the reason many were hesitant to come here...

What can only be described as very strange, but friendly, superpowered animal children approach them while they are doing the job, and strike up a conversation.

The blue one, a hedgehog, talks a mile a dozen, asking what they're doing, where they come from, are their moustaches real, can he drive their van?

The red one, an echidna, takes a while to warm up to them, but once he does, he claims he's a warrior and that he protects the town. He also almost breaks Luigi's arm in a friendly arm wrestling.

The yellow fox is the most level headed of these kids. A sweet thing, although he seems to have a knack for creating gadgets that the Bros are not sure about. They decline his offer to prep their van after the blue one lets slip that he recently installed rocket boosters on their parent's truck.

The parents in question turn out to be very normal looking humans. The Sheriff is quite good at keeping things in order, and his wife brings them snacks in between her veterinary work.

Needless to say, when the Bros finally finish the job and leave, they do wonder if this whole experience was just a strange dream....

Okay! I have some predictions as well as hopes for both the Knuckles series and the third movie!

For the Knuckles show:

Lots of Wachowski family shenanigans 😁

Knuckles gets to keep his motorcycle in the end

Knuckles got his hat from Tom (or just the Green Hills Police Department lol)

Wade becomes an honorary uncle to the Wachowski bros

Knuckles' fire powers are either a one time thing or a rare power he has that's similar to Sonic's lightning powers

Pachacamac is a hallucination of Knuckles', though how he started hallucinating is a mystery 😂

Sonic calls Maddie Mom. Please, I'm begging. Tails, too!

Some kind of second hint about Shadow's coming arrival

For Movie 3!

Again, Wachowski family things! Silliness between the brothers, and of course the brothers bickering about stupid things is a NEED

All three boys using parental titles with Tom and Maddie!

Vivid, detailed flashbacks complete with dialogue of Space Colony Ark and Maria!

Ark sibling memories! They'll make us sad but I want them!

Maria with more personality!

I think it was one of the older Wachowskis who was involved with the Ark incident. Maddie saying there's been a Wachowski protecting Green Hills for over 50 years, that feels way too specific to be a coincidence. Not to mention it wasn't outright G.U.N. in this universe that did it, because it wasn't formed until after the events of the first movie. That would spin things into a WHOLE new context as to why Shadow has it out for Sonic, because he's a Wachowski 👀

Amy and Rouge will be in it! Please!!!

Amy will still like Sonic in it, and he'll just be super embarrassed and bashful about the entire idea, but I don't expect or necessarily want them to actually get together in the movie. (Especially since they're much more painted as KIDS in the movie. I still think Sonic will like her back, and I'd want them to be together EVENTUALLY, but not in the timeline of the movie.)

Shadow will end up getting adopted by either Wade, or Rachel! I think Jojo's presence, a sweet little girl, might remind him of Maria 🥹

Both Shadow and Sonic will go Super!

Fat Eggman would be hilarious!

If Rouge gets adopted into the same family as Shadow and they actually become basically real siblings I will officially die of happiness

Speaking of-- the Wachowski bros actually referring to each other as brothers!

I really love the Sonic movies and their whole found family dynamic❤️❤️❤️❤️ I've seen some great headcanons about them, and I wanted to make some of my own!

Wachowski Family Headcanons: ✨Movie Night✨

Movie night has always been a tradition at the Wachowski house. Tom and Maddie did it, and once they got Sonic it became an even more special time. Now Sonic is super excited to share all his favorite movies with his two new bros.

They have to buy a new TV since Knuckles punched Sonic through their old one when they first met. The whole family goes to the nearest bigger city since Green Hills is too small to have a good electronics store.

Knuckles has no knowledge or interest in technology so Maddie takes him window shopping at the nearby stores

Tails is so excited when they step into Best Buy. He's never seen this much tech in one place! Tom has to remind him not to take anything apart before they buy it.

Sonic immediately runs off to look at all the new video games

The salesman keeps trying to sell Tom the more expensive and "fancier" TVs. Tails is able to see through all the fancy talk, points out the actual specs, and calculates what will give them the best bang for their buck. Tom has no idea what he's talking about but buys the one Tails points to.

They finally get it home and set up. Knuckles is still confused as to what exactly a "TV" even is. It shows things that aren't really there? Is it like a some sort of window? A portal? Tails's in-depth technological explanation does not help. Sonic finally explains it as a "magic wall mural" and he's relatively satisfied.

Time to pick a movie! Sonic wants to watch "Speed" or one of the "Fast and Furious" movies for the millionth time. Knuckles wants to watch an action movie once he hears there's fighting in them. Tom and Maddie are a little worried those might be too much for Tails. Everyone agrees to watch one of the Disney movies Maddie picked up.

They pick Lilo and Stitch (partly because of the ironic parallels of adopting a funny little blue alien with a fear of water, and just getting back from Hawaii after Rachel's wedding)

Everyone curls up on the couch or on blankets on the floor. Even Ozzie comes to join in the fun. Tails and Sonic use him as a pillow.

Maddie brings in some fresh-popped popcorn (and grapes for Knuckles). Tails is a little skeptical of the new snack, but one bite of the buttery goodness and he's obsessed. He and Sonic keep stuffing handfuls in their mouths and throwing kernels at each other. Soon both the couch and the floor is covered. Knuckles tries a few bites. He says it's okay, but swears it's better with grapes.

All the boys love the movie and think it's hilarious, although some of it goes over Tails's and Knuckles's heads due to their limited understanding of Earth culture.

Sonic finds the scene where Stitch almost drowns a little triggering, although he doesn't say anything.

Knuckles's favorite character is Cobra Bubbles. Sonic's is of course Stitch. Tails relates a worrying amount to Jumba the mad scientist.

Tom and Maddie were prepared for Tails to get scared or emotional over the movie, after all, he's still really young. He ends up being fine and really enjoys it, although he points out all the inaccuracies with the spaceships and technology.

But none of them were expecting Knuckles to start choking up at Stitch's "This is my family. I found it all on my own. It's little, and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good." speech. He denies crying and claims he was only sniffing because he got popcorn butter on his nose.

After the movie, everyone stays cozied up in their blankets for a while talking and eating more popcorn. Tails falls asleep and Tom and Maddie decide it's time for bed. They carry Tails up to the boys' shared room in the attic, but Sonic and Knuckles insist on climbing up themselves even though they're both so sleepy they can barely walk.

Sonic falls asleep the moment he hits the bed. Tom puts Tails in bed, and he and Maddie tuck all the boys in. Knuckles actually allows himself to be tucked in for the first time since they got there. Maddie even gives him a little kiss on the forehead. She swears she hears him mumble something about "Ohana means family" before they go downstairs and no she's not crying why would you ask

Thus marks the end of another wonderful Wachowski Family Movie Night!

Okay but like…..Prime Bros and The Blue Devils meeting for the first time?

Sonics are jealous. And also starry eyed. And curious. And there's a slight teeny bit part of their instincts screaming at them to protect the foxes and give them hugs

Prime Sonic himself is super excited and hyped to meet them and introduces his brothers like they're the coolest people to exist (he's right)

They'd love hanging out with the kits.

Nine immediately just goes: Nope. I love Sonic but that's way too many hyperactive speedy hedgehogs.

Tails giggles and doesn't allow him to leave, insisting that it's gonna be fine, they're not pushy. They'll respect his boundaries and yada yada

Mangey is already nudging them and making friends

Wachowski is zipping between each brother, laughing in excitement the whole time. He finds Sails and thinks it's so cool to meet a pirate version of Tails. He's taking interviews at this point.

They like the brothers so much that when Sonic offhandedly comments about possibly going on a run around the globe and if anybody was okay watching the four, every Blue Devil jumps at the opportunity.

They have no idea what they just signed up for >:3

Sonic and Knuckles are those types of siblings that almost always find a way to fight each other.

Knuckles and Tails are those types of siblings who protect each other with their own lives til the very end.

Sonic and Tails are... Somehow both.

Like Sonic and Tails have the most unbreakable bond than any sibling duo I've known, and they'll always have each other's backs no matter what.

But that doesn't excuse the fact Tails ate the last darn pizza in the house.

I mean all the Wachowski bros can act like this for sure, but I just thought this is hilarious.

I mean, Sonic is a teenaged super speedy rebel and Tails is a smart young inventor, CHAOS WILL ENSUE.

One minute they're talking about airplane facts, the next minute they're arguing about whether Speed or Toy Story should be played during movie night. Obviously Toy Story won because Speed has a lot of violence and swearing. Sonic just glares at Tails' cheeky grin almost throughout the whole movie.

Then like magic, the next morning, it's like they never fought.

I just love Sonic, Tails and Knuckles' sibling dynamic. The possibilities are endless whenever I'm thinking about writing a scene with them. Especially Sonic and Tails. They may be chaotic, but they are the best brothers anyone can ask for.

I can’t even tell you how happy I was before even watching the trailer for knuckles. First I was already happy because Abbot elementary came back and then the trailer came for Knuckles and I thought we’d have to wait till Super Bowl. 

It’s all so beautiful! We have siblings energy. We have Knuckles exploring himself as a person of earth now we have Wade being put through the wringer to get stronger. Plus I firmly believe Tails built the death pit and such for Knuckles in some way because he wanted to him to feel more at home. It’s all perfect👌

I was caught so off guard since I saw the notification on Twitter and literally went "Are you fucking kidding me?" out loud in my house and had to calm myself down. I'm surprised they suddenly dropped it like this when they already announced it was going to be dropped during the Super Bowl.

I'm thrilled at the notion that we're going to see the Wachowski bros interacting with one another before the main events of the show take place, it'd be pretty sad to not see them at least once in the show but I'm glad they're here, especially Maddie. Pretzel Mama needs some attention, too, since she has 3 boys to look after now

Tails building the death pit doesn't surprise me. That kid could take over the whole world if he tried hard enough.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Resumes Production, Reveals New Look At Shadow

We found out last August that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was set to hit theaters on December 20, 2024, but a new teaser gave us another glimpse at its newest star: Shadow the Hedgehog.

I say “another” because Shadow briefly appears during Sonic the Hedgehog 2’s mid-credits scene, setting him up as presumably the antagonist of the third film. While we still don’t know his exact role or who will voice him, today’s image, posted above, provides a good look at Shadow below the neck (does he have a neck?), namely his signature air shoes. 

Production on Sonic the Hedgehog 3 had stalled due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, and today’s update confirms work has resumed following the strike’s suspension. Jeff Fowler remains in the director’s chair, and the returning cast includes Ben Schwartz (Sonic), Colleen O’Shaughnessey (Tails), Idris Elba (Knuckles), and James Marsden (Tom Wachowski).

Whatever the third film entails, it has one heck of an act to follow. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was a box office smash, becoming the highest-grossing video game film of all time in the U.S. until The Super Mario Bros. Movie took that crown earlier this year. A live-action TV spin-off starring Knuckles is also in the works and slated to release early next year.
