Ramble about the TFP kids

sometimes I feel like people misinterpret these three, especially Miko and Jack. i've seen others write Miko off as an annoying girl who messes up everything, and jack as a boring/bland character. I actually haven't seen much "hate" on raf, we all love raf lol.

and of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, i totally understand being annoyed by the humans and just wanting the transformer action ! but for me personally, i've always really liked their dynamic and personalities in TFP. i love how much they act like siblings, and how they're so different from each other but love each other like family. we also have to remember they're still kids, so they're gonna act like kids.

Miko runs into situations head first, she acts before she thinks. yes, this gets her in trouble a lot but it also makes her quick to take action in dangerous situations (even if she was the one her got herself in that situation in the first place). i love how she's not afraid to be herself, she's loud, states her opinion, wears those funky shoes, etc. it's just her character yk? she's a wrecker, she's tough and does what she wants, but she also cares about her friends and isn't afraid to express that. an example i can think of off the top of my head is in that one episode about the three being stuck in an alternate dimension; raf dropped his glasses and although miko teased him about it, she still ran and got the glasses back.

now for Jack, he's pretty much the opposite of Miko. that doesn't mean he lacks character and/or personality though. his personality IS being average, introverted, and overall a pretty neutral guy. unlike miko and raf, he doesn't want anything to do with the bots at first. he's also incredibly selfless and caring. and those qualities are ones that i think some people tend to overlook. when jack's bully, vince, got captured by knockout, he still wanted to save him. despite vince being an absolute asshole. jack also risks his life for people he cares about, as well as people he doesn't. not to mention he and miko snap back and forth, so both of them are at least similar in the sassy department lol.

as for Raf, i know i said i haven't really seen hate on his character but i'm gonna talk about him anyways. him being able to understand bumblebee makes a lot of sense to me and isn't just some "random quirky ability he has". number one, raf is extremely smart, and very good with computers, so it makes sense that'd he'd be good at decoding and understanding what bumblebee's beeps mean. (idk anything about computers and coding and all of that so i'm just assuming that has something to do with him being able to understand bumblebee LMAO, honestly i might look into this and make a separate post abt it). secondly, raf and bumblebee are pretty similar, so that's another reason they are greater at understanding each other. they're both the youngest in their groups (from what i remember) and they each struggle with being understood, even by their own family.

in conclusion for this little ramble here, i love the TFP kids so much and their personalities are really fun to analyze. as well as the relationships they have with each other and the bots. i think that's another thing i really enjoy about TFP and the humans, the human-bot relationships. yes they're guardians to the kids but they eventually become family to each other. and as ratchet says, "they've grown to need each other". the kids aren't just some random humans who hang out at the base, they help out on missions and, as i've said a billion times in this post, they've become family.

note: i'm sick and slightly delirious while writing this so hopefully everything makes sense and isnt too repetitive lol, also please feel free to ramble in the comments or add onto this, i love reading them <3

My issue with humans in TFP isn’t completely the fact that there’s human. They’re on Earth, of course some of them are going to know. (I just don’t like when they have a bigger role than the actual transformers themselves) It’s the fact that it’s human children. The humans in TFP would have been a lot better (in my opinion) if they were agents assigned to deal with the bots just like Fowler rather than just some random kids and a mom. It would have given them a better reason to be there. They could have still grown to be family if that’s what you’re interested in. They could have still be given the personalities they have. They would have still played a part and helping in missions. And before someone says “wElL iTs FoR kIdS” just because a show is for kids, doesn’t mean there needs to be kids. I was a kid when I began watching TFP and it doesn’t mean kids will enjoy child characters. It also doesn’t make sense that they kept them there. The whole “you should stay here for your safety” makes no sense. That just put them even more in danger. It’s common sense the cons would have gone after the kids even more if they knew they had friendships with the bots? One more thing, I find it really weird how Arcee, a bot with the mentality of an adult, pushed her grief onto a 16 year old? I get that the show needed to bring Jack back but that was just… weird. Agent Fowler and Silas were awesome though.

This is my opinion, you don’t gotta agree. You’re entitled to yours and I’m entitled to mine.

Adult Miko,Jack and Raf designs :-))

I have already written a lot about Jack because hes my beloved son but here are some headcanons about apfuture Miko and Raf :-))

Miko

I feel like after she went back to Japan,she could have been pressured by her parents into pursuing college. But she dropped out after the first year and went on to have a band that probably creates mildly uncomfortable underground metal lmao

I feel like she could also be a guitar teacher for fun

Raf

Raf obviously went to become and IT specialist,probably something related to hacking (maybe a safety checker for some important business like a bank or sum I don’t know really). I gave him funky clothes because he probably works from home so he can do what he wants lol

Also I feel like he would be the type of person who decided to get into funky yoga stuff after realising that sitting in front of a computer 24/7 is rather damaging to his physical health lol

And he’s probably still into sport cars aka just,,,maybe doing plastic models for fun or watching them

Jack

I have a longer post about him but

I imagine he went on to become a doctor and is currently working in a hospital with the plan to eventually open his private clinic someday.

He’s married to Sierra (tho they didn’t become a couple in high school,they met again in college and that’s when it worked)

He has the June hairstyle and his eyesight kinda started detoriating as a long term effect of energon exposure from being on cybertron I guess

Also I hc him to eventually figure out that he’s gender fluid :-))

How did he found out about autobots?

You're asking me about my OCS???? Oh my Primus, I've been waiting for this!

Mason is a character I've had floating in my mind void for awhile; he's originally from northern Wisconsin, but moved to Jasper to distance himself from their ex. (No, Miko, he's not going to talk about it.)

He has vitiligo, but it doesn't really bother them. He used to be really self conscious as a kid, even stealing his mom's makeup to try and cover it up. As they got older though, Mason came to accept and love his skin, because it's ultimately a part of him, and what makes them unique. (Ratchet found it fascinating, and that ended with them having an in depth conversation about dermatology)

Mason uses He/They, although he doesn't have a preference. His parents got him into geology and bushcraft, which is how he met the bots. (See above; I may write a drabble, idk)

As for favorite bots, Mason will never tell you openly. Honestly though, Ratchet and Optimus hold a special place in their heart. He has a strong bond with his parents, but those two have kind of become stand-in Dads for Mason.

His favorite thing? Probably his jean jacket. It was a gift from their grandpa, given after they came out. It was a reminder that he was loved and accepted by their family, no matter what the world said.

As for the Autobots, they like him plenty. Mason introduced a lot of new concepts to them, like gender identity and orientation, so there's no shortage of interesting conversations. As a diagnosed autistic, there are many times where they have to explain to the bots how it affects him as opposed to a neurotypical. (And if Optimus learned a few things about himself over the course of these conversations, well...)

Mason and Jack get along the best; they bond over their shared love for bushcraft and survivalism. He's almost positive that Miko is giving him gray hairs; but he admires her bravery. Even if it is a bit misplaced. As for Raf, yeah Mason's basically adopted him. Raf is his child now. ("How have none of your parents noticed you guys gone all the time?!")

They've honestly become the Dad of the group as the oldest guy besides Agent Fowler, and this extends to the bots. Mason can often be found scolding someone for doing something stupid or talking down some argument in the base. Their piercing glare is the reason Agent Fowler doesn't dare shout at Optimus anymore. Bro barely got one "PRIME!" out before Mason was nearly at his throat. Optimus may be a big bot, but Mason looked at him for half a second and immediately identified him as baby™. He and Fowler are ok now, mostly. Mostly.

That's basically all I've put together; thanks again for asking about my characters! I was kinda on the fence about sharing my ocs, mainly since I haven't made a lot of them since I was younger. I may explore that more often now.

Hope this was satisfactory, lol. I'm not the best at explaining certain things. I'm just a nerd who likes big robot Bois.

To Starscream, what is your reaction to be chained and offered as a sacrifice? What would you do to the bot or person responsible for this?

Arc: I would be surprised

Bh: Surprised, but it would help him get out of those chains

Bb: Really surprised, why they do that?

Smk: Obviously help him get out

Why would they do that? *Tried not to laugh too much* it would be fun, but I'll keep an optic on him in case any other human wants to do that again, more for the chain part

It seems that someone gains fame with humans, so much to be treated as a guest for their deity

Surprised, I didn't know that humans would do this to them, but it would surprise me more than how they managed to capture Starscream

It would be funny at first, but I think we need help from Fowler to tell them let him go

I'll be worry for him, this kind of culture are some... Aggressive when someone intervenes in their ritual

It would be fun to see him tied up

I would be surprised and upset, I mean who could capture me, but after realizing what they would do to me, I would be completely worried and terrified, not that I am afraid of who they want to offer me

How would you change TFP Miko's personality? Would you change it a lot or a little bit? Would you end Bulkhead’s life, for her to take the War seriously? If yes, would Wheeljack or Smokescreen become Miko’s new partner? If no, how would you make Miko take the war more seriously? (If Animated can lose a main character, so can TFP!) 🎸

The thing about Miko is, her personality is not always the problem. The biggest problem with her character is how she's used within the story itself.. the actions she takes make it seem like she views the Bots as her big, cool toys there for her entertainment. This is enforced by how many times she runs off into danger literally on purpose because she thinks it'll be cool!

So, having a female character who likes wrestling and rock music and is brash and bold and doesn't listen to authority is not the thing that sucks about Miko.. what sucks about her is how the narrative uses her as a lazy excuse to initiate action and conflict within the story instead of getting there in a way that doesn't make her seem stupid and/or insensitive to the plight of her friends.

...Anyway, yes they definitely should have killed Bulkhead after his fight with Hardshell in season 2. Would've been freakin fantastic. I'd have 100% been behind that move, and the episode afterwards where Miko goes on a 'revenge quest' with Wheeljack would have made waaaaay more sense. (also would have been a good excuse to get Wheeljack into the main crew which would have been GREAT. i liked him so much more than Bulkhead)

TFP Human Hcs Pt. 2

Raf

so this is a bit of a newer headcanon i have of him, but i feel like he's transmasc or genderfluid

raf never really cared about gender roles and things like that, but he overheard miko talking about how she didn't mind being called a girl or a boy or whatever people wanted to call her

he asked her about it and she replied saying she knew herself better than anyone else so it didn't matter what other people thought or wanted to label her, she knew who she was and that's the important part

miko then went back to talking about monster trucks or something and raf's just *cue the mind blown emoji*

lol i love them

he definitely went as the Dr Emmett guy from back to the future or as some mad scientist character for halloween

is actually pretty ok at drawing, just doesn't enjoy it as a hobby that much

LOVES learning about cybertron and its history and everything about it

at first ratchet thought all of raf's questions were annoying but grew to appreciate his curiosity

raf prefers asking ratchet any questions he has about cybertron because optimus goes on telling a long memory/story and trails off from the original question (raf's a sweet kid tho, he listens through the whole thing), while ratchet gives more straightforward answers

him and miko have "try not to laugh" challenges (raf's the judge) and usually wins

one time however, miko did something unintentionally funny while doing the challenge and jack let out the loudest screeching laugh they've ever heard, like the type of laugh that bubbles up and explodes when you're trying to hold it in

dated sierra for a little while, then sierra came out as lesbian, they still remained good friends though

(leon try not to HC every girl as a lesbian challenge, failed.)

considered going into the medical field like his mom did but decided it wasn't for him later on

in the future he eventually got a job with the government thanks to agent fowler

goes to drive-in theaters with raf and bumblebee but always ends up falling asleep

bought a mini blue motorcycle figurine and carries it in his bag

cat and dog person

favorite song is "roll on (eighteen wheeler)" by Alabama

discovered that he and optimus had similar taste in music (country music ofc) and plays some songs in the base if it's just him

Miko

makes fun of jack for liking country music

cat person (canonly has cats i believe) but she loves dogs too, except for the crusty tiny white dogs that old people have

drew bulkhead and herself together fighting some decepticons and framed the picture for him as a gift

he cried lol

speaking of gifts, she told the bots about birthdays and all of them immediately wanted to know when all the kid's birthdays were

bulkhead and some of the others took her to a monster truck event and she had the time of her life it was amazing

actually got jack into some of the music she likes, and they like going to smaller concerts around town

she bonds with raf by getting into comics and graphic novels, they both enjoy sci-fi ones

definitely doodles all over her desk at school, especially when she's in detention

although she's VERRYY extroverted, whenever she gets a crush on someone or thinks they're pretty, she gets a little quieter/shyer; not a lot but you can tell

jams out to metal music with bulkhead (canon)

i don't remember if this is canon or not, but she has a bag with pins and stuff she's collected over the years

her bookbag has doodle marks all over it, like little stars and swirls and stuff, very much a miko bookbag

My Favorite Human Characters In TFP

(and i dont like human characters in transformers lol)

Soooo, I don’t really like humans in Transformers. I came to watch/read about giant transforming robots who are like humans but still an alien species, why would I care about the humans when I can see humans anywhere? I do understand that the humans played a huge part in TFP but I still don’t really like them.

Nonetheless, here is my list from most favorite to least:

1.) Agent Fowler (He’s my favorite and I honestly don’t mind him! He actually had a reason to be there as a government official unlike the children and he’s pretty funny at times. He’s an enjoyable human character, imo!)

2.) Silas (Yes, we all hate him but come on… He made the show so interesting by giving us so many episodes. Breakdown rescue, Airachnid teaming up with M.E.C.H, Nemesis Prime, the human factor, Thirst… For the amount of episodes he gave us, he gets to take second place.)

3.) Rafael (Genius children exist irl so I guess that’s fair but how the heck does he understand Bumblebee? Cybertronians are forged knowing their own language, nobody taught them like how we need to be taught. Rafael never even met one but he understood Bee immediately. Yes, I know Ratchet was teaching him Cybertronian but that was way after he met Bee. I feel it would have been kinda better if he was techno-organic but then again, that would raise even more questions than him just being a human that can understand. Anyways, I liked his personality and his style was the most unique imo. If I recall correctly, the TFP art book said they were supposed to be hand-me-downs since he had a lot of siblings? He was good to help us see Ratchet’s softer side but still, why are the kids there. Anyways, Raf is relatively likable.)

4.) June (She’s only there cause the kids are there, she doesn’t really have a purpose in the show besides Fowler crushing on her.)

5.) Jack (I just find him boring, honestly. I feel it’s just meant to be “oh look!!! he’s a honorary prime!!! Not entertaining but not unbearable either.)

…

6.) … Miko (I’m not even going to get into why because this was post was supposed to be brief and I would be typing for awhile. I’ll probably make a full post about it one day. However, she is awful. She is unbearable. I don’t think I’ll ever like her character.)

That’s my list. However, I have two conflicting thoughts on the human characters. Perhaps if they went more in depth with them and their lives then I’d find them to be more interesting but at the same time, I don’t wanna see anymore damn humans lol. I’m here for the Cybertronians. Seriously, the kids were more in danger hanging out with the Autobots, especially now that the cons know they have close bonds with their human friends. If the kids had just went on their own separate ways, the cons probably wouldn’t even bother after the 2nd time. I can’t lie tho, I would want to chill out with the Autobots too lol

Does shattered glass change personalities too? Cause if so,here are my headcanons for SG! Tfp (adult) humans

Fowler- kinda shy,doesn't talk a lot and is probably very like,, stoic and stern (?). He's more internally emotional than normal fowler, probably overthinks things a lot and generally experiences emotions more . He has issues with standing up for what he believes is right and for himself in general

June - she doesn't care about anyone,really. Also selfish compared to her normal self. And less silly if you get me . She's either the distant mother or doesn't exist in Jack's life . Girlboss,gaslight,gatekeep. She isn't kind and she isn't sweet,she's probably more on the cruel side.

Silas- for one,he probably has self confidence issues. And is probably more normal!fowler-like, being a talkative guy with dad humour . He's probably. just a guy yk. He cares about others deeply and probably does anything to help them.

I feel like generally the SG versions of June and Fowler are them but without the silliness and the traits that make them warm emotionally (I'm having a hard time conveying what i mean ok)

Idk if this makes sense my brain is rotting
