"we don't got all day, brat!"

an impatient katsuki sits cross-legged on the floor, arms crossed as he waits for you to come out of the bathroom. you've been in there for at least 30 minutes doing god knows what, and katsuki is all but ready to kick the door down if you keep him waiting any longer.

but thankfully, the door clicks open. "hold on 'tsuki," you're using that tone on him, the one akin to a mother gently scolding her child. it makes katsuki's ears burn.

"jus' hurry up. the hell are you even doin' in there?"

"just freshening up," when you finally drift out of the bathroom, you're wearing a cute little cotton top instead of the old, worn-out you'd been sporting earlier. you smell a little sweeter too, and there's a light sheen of lipgloss on your lips. katsuki scoffs. "what? just wanna make sure that our first kiss will be enjoyable for both of us!"

a thought about how katsuki would enjoy any kiss as long as it came from you passes as soon as it came when you sit in front of him, hands resting on his knees and your face impossibly close to his.

"so how are we gonna do this?"

"hell if i know!" katsuki pulls back slightly, wellー as far as he can. your hands are still planted firmly on his knees, keeping him there.

"hm...how about you cup my cheek? like how they do in the movies, y'know?"

katsuki reluctantly moves to cradle your face in his palm. god, he hopes you can't feel how sweaty he's getting.

"good," you lean into his palm, a hand wrapping around his wrist and rubbing a thumb softly against his skin. katsuki hates how you know just how to calm him down, and hates it even more how he can feel himself relaxing at your touch.

"what's next?" his voice isn't as gruff and loud as usual. what the hell are you doing to him?

"i think we just need to lean in slowly and go with the flow from there." and you start pulling him closer, your free hand wrapping around his nape.

you're so close. katsuki can smell your moisturizer and vanilla flavored chapstick. he wonders, for a moment, if you'll taste just as sweet.

he lets out a sigh as soon as your lips meet. admittedly, the kiss is a little rough. your teeth bump against his and katsuki's free hand hovers in the air awkwardly since he's not really sure what to do with it.

you frown against his lips and he panics for a second. did you think he was stupid? awkward? god, you must hate him for ruining your first kiss.

katsuki is just about to pull away, tears stinging in his eyes, when you cup his cheek. "relax," you mumble, pulling him in closer, even deeper.

he tenses up for just a second but relaxes when you rub slow, tender circles into his skin. his lips soon find a rhythm with yours. katsuki indulges himself for just a moment by lightly nipping at your bottom lip.

you pull away after a few moments, chest rising and falling with every breath. "so?"

you're staring at him with gooey doe eyes, lips swollen and pink. katsuki's heart seizes at the sight, ears burning.

"so what?"

you frown, jutting out your lower lip that has katsuki melting. "was it good?"

he just stares at you for a moment, eyes boring into yours as you wait for his reply.

"wasn't too bad. you breathe really loud, by the way."

"shut up katsuki! if you wanna compliment me, just say it! god, you're the worst!"

he smiles, even when you're throwing punches at his bicep and pulling at his hair the way you did when you were kids.

"but ya still kissed me, brat." he says smugly.

"katsuki!"

hmm not a fan of quickies i don't think. they're both pretty serious and responsible in that they stick to their schedules, so they don't rly have the time for a quickie most days? also, they both rly like to take their time with it and enjoy each other, so a quickie wouldn't rly work.

as for how often though, they fuck pretty regularly (i mean they have six kids for a reason dhdjkdskj) bc once they're comfortable with each other they start to crave the intimacy of having someone else with them like that? i think olenna's sex drive also massively increases when she's pregnant bc hormones so they fuck extra often then; that might be the only circumstances in which a quickie might be possible actually.

You shuffle to James’ side as he pauses in the baking aisle, craning your neck to see his phone over the bulky shoulder blocking it.

“Oh yeah,” you hum, “I’ve seen that.”

James turns his wrinkled nose your way, a wink of amusement in his eyes.

“That cannot be good.”

Scanning the row of mixes beside the cart, you palm his side, his shirt soft and thin under your fingers.

“No, it’s kind of alright, actually.”

You blink back up at him, smiling, even when his big eyes bug even further under his glasses.

“You’ve tried it?”

Laughing, you encourage the cart forward again, and James with it.

“Can you see what we need next, please?” You croon. James’ eyes soften, and he looks back to the recipe page as he walks.

“Er, do we have baking powder?”

“Yes.”

He scrolls an inch further.

“Lemons?”

“I was thinking we’d just use that lemon juice in the fridge,” you say, shrugging.

“What?” James stops walking. “Baby, no.”

He steers the cart around, making a break for the produce section. “We are making these cupcakes right, my darling. I need all the best ingredients.”

You just laugh and trail after him. “It really won’t make a difference…”

As you catch up to him, James is hoisting a full netted pouch of lemons out of its sales basket.

“Jamie, we only need one,” you say, a bemused smile pulling at your lips. He looks to you, still holding the lemons up like a fresh catch.

“That’s quitter’s talk. We just need to make more cupcakes, s’all.”

He drops them in the cart, and then creeps toward you.

“Whatever you say, baby,” you tease.

James freezes before he can reach you. A slippery grin parts his lips, creasing around his eyes.

“What’d you call me?”

Flipping back through your words, you realize what you’ve said too late. In your mind, James and baby have been synonymous for a good few weeks now, you’ve just been trying to play it cool, and for good reason.

James will never let this go.

“I—” You huff, relenting. “Baby.”

In a split second James is around you, lemons forgotten in exchange for a snug embrace that warms your cheeks.

“James, we’re in public.”

“Who?” He asks, a grin pressed against your temple, and a strong hand between your shoulder blades.

Cushioning your chin on his chest, you look up at him. James has bigger heart eyes now than he did on your first date, which is saying a lot.

You know the two of you look painfully smitten, and that any passersby might be bothered by the PDA, but it’s hard to stifle your affection for James.

“Can you call me that more often?” He asks gently, so lovelorn that it nips your heart a little. “I really liked it.”

i think there’s really two ways this could go. billy has moods, yk?

on the one hand, he thinks you look beautiful in anything you put on. but he has a particular fondness for the days when you meet him out in the meadow, blouse tucked into a well-fitted pair of pants and your riding boots. it means he gets to haul you up onto his horse without the fear of muddying or accidentally tearing any of your pretty skirts or dresses.

he also likes it because he can tell you’re so comfortable in it. the way you move, the way you’re so much less careful. billy can get you seated nice and comfy, your back to his chest and his arms around you as you ride through the tall grass or weave through trees in the woods. he likes the way this particular type of outfit makes you less self-conscious, and makes you feel more free to have fun with him…❤️

on the other hand, this darling man will lose his ever lovin’ mind if you appear before him in soft laces and frills. you’re already always so soft compared to him, when you sit perched on his bed in a little lacy nightgown that barely brushes the tops of your thighs; one that only just falls over your hips. billy is at your mercy and you both know it. his eyes wouldn’t know where to look first, to your shoulders where the delicate ruffles slip down? to your chest, framed so beautifully by the dainty fabric? or to your legs, so neatly folded atop his blankets?

he’d be on you in an instant, laying you back and crowding into your space. billy is a rough man— but not with you. not with his precious angel. his lips are already skimming your throat by the time your head is cushioned by his pillow, his hips slotting between your eagerly spread thighs.

“jesus christ, sweetheart. you’re gonna be the death of me,” he breathes, almost purring against your skin. his teeth nibble at your skin and it makes you giggle; his favorite sound in the world. you can feel his smile before you see it, when he lifts his head and gazes down at you with the most charming and boyish grin. he adores you, and tells you as much before he’s dipping his head back down to smother you in slick, eager kisses that make your head spin.
