7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?

Mmm, I don't actually have a character I hate, but I'm not particularly fond of the general fanon characterization of Xiao. I adore his character, and the man vs self struggle that's both the internalization of his past as well as his 'acceptance' is just *chef's kiss*.

But while he sounds edgy, Xiao's pretty soft. Sure his en voice is on the gruff/edgy side, but if we always just took voices at face value then ho boy would that be a world of trouble. I get it though, voices generally should (take v lightly) match the characterization, but I really like his en voice! Laila Berzins did so good!

14. that one thing you see in fics all the time

Yandere-ization is noticeably prevalent in Genshin, which I think just is because it just so happens they both became more popular (the yandere tropes/characterizations and Genshin in general) around the same time. It's not my cup of tea, but it's not the end of the world either. At one point, scrolling through ao3, I'd pretty much see a yandere fic every other work--especially for characters like Scaramouche or Xiao or Kazuha.

16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

Making everything edgy- Genshin isn't really a just soft feelings game, and a ton of the characters have a pretty dark backstory, but I just am not super into this. It's probably because I'm also just tired of getting such dreary (?) stuff from fandom, but who knows. Specifically though making it seem like Kaeya and Diluc hate each other's guts, making Albedo seem like he's cold or purely calculative, Kaeya being only manipulative and sleazy, Diluc being only broody and grim, Xiao being overly rude and mean, Scaramouche (/j).

That's not to say I downright hate it, but man it does get a little tiring seeing it. That's probably why I tend to write only soft stuff- also writing angst puts me in intense pain

Soft poetic characterization of Kazuha, domestic Xiao, RUBEDOOO (subject 2).

I just love the idea of Kazuha just quietly musing over something, no matter it's importance, or maybe even just admiring the simplicity of something that's equally profound. Kazuha being flowery in his language with that dreamy feel but you can still feel the brewing storm within his mind- oiashdfioe

Xiao being (not) forced into a situation where he's with someone for an extended amount of time, shadowed by his worries about his karma effecting but also those silently brewing emotions that flutter at the simplest thing. Xiao not being very physically affectionate but instead leaving little gifts, or perhaps offering to take watch (like you're traveling together towards a common goal or something and he sees that you're nodding off while on watch so he sits there a little ways away to keep an eye on you while you sleep but also make sure no harm comes).

AND RUBEDO (': I miss him, I want more mhy please give me more of him because I KNOW he's not dead. There's no way--regardless of whcih Bedo is the Albedo at the end of Shadows Amidst Snowstorms, there's no way that he's dead. If the Bedo is Albedo, then he's clearly hiding something or making light of the situation. If it's Rubedo then that's self explanatory.

it doesn't even matter if he *actually* gets much more content I just wanna know my other boy is safe and sound (or maybe just alive yknow)

OH AND EULA! I get that there's that whole thing where people overreacted and took it way out of proportion (esp. on twt), but Eula is a great character! She's good for the trope of breaking away from what you're associated with and I feel like she could do with being included more in the game! I hope she gets another character story because I think she's pretty cool neat

Scaramouche. I still am baffled that he's the reason I started writing for Genshin and why I have an unholy knowledge of his entire character and background like I think about it and wonder "the hell?"

This is a response to THIS POST by @poetikat. She shared a Twitter thread where someone made the point that the argument that the only reason there aren't more f/f fics is that there aren't enough female characters in stories is mighty weak, when you think about it. It's a great thread, and she points to two fascinating examples: In both the Genshin tag and the Among Us tag, there are still more m/m fics than f/f fics. Genshin has about twice as many female characters as male, and Among Us is well... do they even have gender in there?

Gratifying isn't the right word for how I feel about this thread. It's more like someone just popped up and reassured me that I'm not actually delusional.

I've been wondering about this for so damn long. Why is the vast majority of fic m/m? Why, if the vast majority of fan creators seem to be queer women, is there so little f/f fic?

This raised another question for me, which is "Just how little f/f fic is there?"

To get an idea, I went trawling through some of the bigger fandom tags on AO3, and I came up with some lovely charts for y 'all to peruse. For each fandom, I checked the number of total fics in that tag against how many were tagged m/m, m/f, and f/f. And for reasons that I will reveal soon, I also checked to see how many omegaverse fics were in that tag.

Across the 12 fandoms I checked, the average breakdown was:

53% m/m

25% f/m

7% f/f

3% a/b/o

(The fandoms in question were: My Hero Academia, Harry Potter, Marvel, Naruto, Genshin, Star Wars, Supernatural, BTS, Teen Wolf, Sherlock Holmes, Final Fantasy, and DCU. These were pulled from the top listed tags on AO3's browsing tab)

Here are the numbers by fandom:

Please look at these charts for a minute. Notice that there are only two fandoms in which the percentage of f/f fics breaks double digit perecntages. Notice that in most of them, the percentage of f/f fics is far more comparable to the number of omegaverse fics than to either m/m or m/f.

The original twitter threat listed two answers that we've all heard repeatedly for why there aren't more f/f fics: "There aren't enough female characters" and "female characters aren't as interesting/well-written."

See, the thing about those two answers, is that they represent two problems that, in other contexts, fic writers often set out to solve deliberately. Can you imagine a world where there was a paucity of m/m fics, and when someone asked why, the answer was that there aren't enough queer men in canon or that the ones that were there aren't well written?

No. Because we're all perfectly happy to just rewrite a male character as queer if we want him to be, or rewrite him to be more interesting. It's... it's kinda what we do.

We're fine with changing a character's sexuality, and we're fine with giving them a personality if they didn't have one before... in theory. In practice, it seems to happen far more often if the character in question is a man.

So, here's a question: If there aren't enough female characters, or the ones who exist aren't interesting enough... why aren't people making more? I don't even mean OCs. Just... why aren't there more people out here changing characters' genders? If it's considered normal when writing a fic to change up people's sexuality, personal relationships, behaviors, beliefs, etc... if we're ok with changing the setting and genre of a story....

then what is so weird about deciding that more characters are women?

And look. I'm not the fandom police. I'm not out here trying to tell anyone what kind of stories they should be writing. I'm just encouraging your all to look at those numbers and ask yourselves really ask yourselves if it makes sense that f/f fic is only slightly more common than omegaverse. Because to me, saying, "These characters are women now" seems like a lot less work than reinventing the entirety of human biology.

There is a wolf game I am working on in Roblox titled "Rise of the Guardian Wolves." This game follows a story I have created about an island inhabited by wolves who are under dictatorship by a god. A faction, known as "Guardians", is seeking attempts to displace the god from her "throne." The story is more in-depth, but that is the general summary!

My other project is Black Tides, containing a majority of my human-animal hybrid characters in a world called "Exadia".

Things to do whilst waiting for a game to install

We've all been there. There's this really cool looking game and you've just downloaded it for the first time and you're really hyped to play it. Only for a notice to pop up saying "Additional files required. Download file:(Insert random amount of GB over 1) you download the file and end up staring into space for what feels like forever when you could've been doing so much more! Here's a list of things to do whilst waiting for a game to download! (fun fact i made this list whilst waiting for Disney; Twisted Wonderland to download!)

When you've only got a phone:

doodle one of the characters! There's usually some of the characters on the downloading page so why not whip out the good ol' pencil and paper and get doodling? It doesn't even have to be good since it's a time killer

2.Play the staring game! I actually used this one when i was downloading Tears Of Themis and it was pretty effective! If you want to play the staring game:

Make sure the game lets you see much data you've downloaded so far either that be via percentages or a little metre!

Stare at the thing and make a mental goal (mine was when it got to 20%)

When the game reaches that mental goal, exit the game and make sure to not have it open in the background

Open the game up again.

Rinse and repeat until the games fully downloaded!

3. Catch up on something! Whether it be a tv show or homework! It's a win win situation because not only have you done something productive but after you've done that thing you'll have a nice game downloaded!(Make sense?)

4.EAT!! I'm sure we've all eaten out of sheer boredom before so why not indulge yourself a little? You could even go the next step and prepare your food yourself to kill even more time!

5. Get a little freaky if you get what I'm saying.( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I'm pretty sure we've all got some fantasy so why not indulge yourself by imagining it?

6. Sleep! That's probably the most obvious thing to do HOWEVER don't fall asleep if you have things you could be doing instead! This is only for those who are downloading Genshin Impact or other games that take centuries to download or for those who have down every thing on this list.

When You Have Multiple Devices

Look up translations if needed!! Unless the game is suuppeerr niche and underground to the point where you had to download it off of some dodgy APK site since not even Qooapp and Tap Tap had it there's a pretty fair chance that some poor but at the same time kind soul on Tumblr put their time into translating the game for you! However since more and more games are being localized more and more companies are requesting such translations to be taken down (so if all the Diabolik Lovers translations get taken down you know what i'll be saving up for!)

2. Look up the game on Reddit/Twitter/Instagram/Youtube etc! As said previously, unless the game is hardly known about there's a good chance there's a subreddit or twitter hashtag for them (Follow me on Twitter and Reddit btw! @Asimponacloud and u/AdKlutzy9200) So spend a bit of time getting to know the fandom a little bit and you never know! Perhaps the game is super boring and not worth your time and memory so you can uninstall it before it's too late!

3. See if there's merchandise! One of the things that makes me want to play a game more is finding out the game has official merchandise!(redbubble and etsy don't count)

4. Continue your day like usual. Nowaday's you basically can do anything you can do on your pc and/or tablet that you can do on your phone so simply put your phone to one side and continue your day as normal!

diluc: cuddle headcanons

i feel like diluc would be one of those people who are intentionally a little skittish around intimate contact of any kind, but secretly loves it on the inside,,,

like there are only so many ways he can express his emotions through his words, usually which come out either wrong or not quite what he meant, so he can convey his emotions better through small actions, whether that be a hug or something else *wink wonk*

but on a more serious note, i do believe diluc is an actions over words kind of guy. he values actions over words, at least, because they mean more to him than anything you could say in the long run.

so cuddling with diluc would more than likely be a "behind close doors" affair, so to speak, he isn't fond of public affection and would much prefer it to be on his terms in a place where he feels safe.

that said!

cuddling with diluc is like cuddling with a heater. it can be comfy, depending on the weather (dragonspine) or it can be absolutely awful depending on the heat (mondstadt or liyue), but either way, the man runs pretty hot on a regular basis due to his abilities, so cool clothing--or none at all--is a must.

diluc very rarely wears much of anything because of it (this is if nighttime cuddles are a thing) so you'd have to be comfortable with an unusual amount of skinship with him. at first he might be a little wary and wear clothes, for propriety's sake, but would quickly grow weary of the whole thing and be as comfortable as possible.

since diluc has strong upper body strength (he has to, being a claymore wielder) he has a rather firm grip when it comes to holding you to his chest. it is pleasant and comfortable, not too hard and not too loose, but just enough to where you can feel comforted and protected--which is the goal.

if you are ever in distress, tired, sad, or anything at all, you can always track down diluc at the dawn winery and know he'll be ready to offer cuddles at a moment's notice, but only because it's you.

play with his hair. do it. he says he doesn't like it but he does. do it when he turns his back to you and just cuddle him from behind and run your fingers through his scalp, twist his hair into braids, muse it thoroughly--he'll be much more compliant and at ease than if you hadn't.

his favorite cuddling position is when he's on his back and you're snuggled right up to his side, resting your cheek somewhere between his shoulder and chest and a leg thrown over his hips, comfortable and leisurely. especially in the mornings, when neither of you have nowhere to go immediately and can just sit and bask in each other's presence.

his second favorite would probably be face to face but it's rare that it happens because he'd much prefer the first. he enjoys just flicking his gaze over your face if you've fallen asleep, or just staring into your eyes in general if you're awake, feeling as if his stare alone could convey the many words he would never say.

at the end of the day, diluc is a pretty soft boi with a fairly rough background so handle his heart with care please!

kaeya: cuddle headcanons

the opposite of diluc, i think kaeya would be opposed to any kind of skinship--for the most part. while he certainly appreciates a good hug or pat on the shoulder here and there, he's averse to contact for extended periods of time lasting longer than maybe a few minutes.

he is able to express himself more thoroughly with his words, i believe, than his actions, because his actions can be easily misconstrued, as past actions indicate. *cough* so he much prefers verbal affirmations to physical ones, but however, if the traveler (yourself) is more skewed towards physical affection, he supposes he can't complain, since it's you, after all.

with kaeya, you would have to start out small; lingering touches, never fully encompassing or heavy, but light and delicate. get him used to your extended presence, so to speak, and he'll be more inclined to be touchier because, despite what he says or indicates with body language, he does crave that interaction with you even if his mind vehemently opposes it.

in a compromise, he'll sit as close to you as possible, but the rest will ultimately be up to you.

cuddling with kaeya, at first, is a bit of an awkward thing. he isn't sure what he wants, so he tries to do what is natural--deflect with flirtatious comments and fond words, distracting you from his uncomfortableness, but you see right through it.

over time, as he grows more accustomed to it, he grows clingier, even going as far as cuddling you in public spaces. the knights of favonius' hq has never known him to be as close as he is to you at any given time.

if he's working late and refuses to come home, you can easily wedge yourself into his lap on his chair and cuddle him that way, which is counterproductive since he can't resist when you do that.

because he runs quite cool, being a cryo user, he's the best to have during mondstadt heatwaves or impromptu trips to liyue. he sleeps with several blankets so if you end up having a cuddle session before bed, either wear cool clothes or be prepared to sleep naked (not that he would mind). *wink wink nudge nudge*

he's a blanket hoarder and collects blankets. you can't persuade me otherwise. i will die on this hill.

in an interesting turn, he doesn't like his hair played with, but he will play with yours, although not in the neat and pretty designs you probably would. usually it ends up knotted and matted worse than before if you came off of a mission, because while his touch is playful, it more than often comes with disastrous consequences.

his favorite position is cuddled up behind you, as close as he can be, with an arm under your head and another wrapped around your waist, his hand close to your heart. you can either hold that hand or reach up and stroke your fingers down his arm and he'll be happy. bonus points if you twine your legs together with his, he loves that.

his second favorite is less of a cuddle and more of a bear hug; specifically, more like a koala hug. it's less of an intimacy thing and more of a "i enjoy being greeted this way" thing, especially if he's the one coming back from a lengthy trip or mission. just leap on him and hold tight with your arms and legs (don't kill the poor bby tho) and he feels loved and appreciated and actually wants to return to you than mondstadt.

kaeya, when all is said and done, yearns for affection and affirmation, so be careful with him; he does, despite what he claims, breaks easily.

You shush Xingqiu as the man just across the shop continues to browse at his leisure, golden eyes furrowed in concentration as he trails his gloved fingers across the books’ spines. “Maybe he’s here to buy something else this time! You never know.”

“He’s bought the exact same book seven times in a row now,” Your little brother insists, pulling his nose out of his novel for once to regard the tall figure drifting listlessly from one end of the shop to the other. “I doubt he’s going to break the cycle now.”

“He could be a collector,” You suggest, dropping your voice slightly when the man’s eyes flicker over to you briefly. “This shop’s older than us - maybe it has a bunch of different editions that he wants to get.”

“Well, wouldn’t it make sense for him to find all the different editions and then buy them all at once?” Xingqiu whispers in reply, tapping restlessly at the countertop with one hand. “Then he wouldn’t have to stop by every day and charm you into paying for him.”

You don’t have a reasonable argument for that, so you don’t reply. Xingqiu really is too smart for his own good sometimes.

The man - who you can see is now flicking curiously through a copy of The Founder of Diabolism - isn’t someone you know particularly well, but he’s visited the bookshop where you work enough times that you do know the essential facts: his name is Zhongli, he likes drinking tea, and he’s broke. In every sense of the word.

That last point is quite the source of exasperation on your part. No matter how many times you remind him as he leaves, he never fails to turn up with a completely empty Mora pouch the next time you see him. At first it hadn’t been so much of a problem - he’d just come in, browse the books, start a little small talk with you, then leave. But then he’d actually started wanting to buy the books, and buying usually involves money - something that Zhongli seems to forget exists.

If it had been any other ridiculously handsome guy, you might have sent them packing, but there’s something about the lost look on Zhongli’s face when you ask him for his payment and he realises that he has no way of giving you one that never fails to make you get out your own Mora pouch and suggest that you foot the bill for him instead. Zhongli always tries to refuse your offer, but, in kind, you always insist. You have no idea why he has such an affinity for that particular book, but the way he smiles at you as you as you drop your own coins into the payment pouch is more than enough to make up for the money you lose. Today, however, Zhongli has neglected the shelf of encyclopaedias in favour of drifting over to the Xianxia section. You’re not sure what’s spurred this change in interest, but maybe it’s the little toy dragon you’ve set on top of the shelf? Zhongli seems rather enamoured by it - he keeps glancing up at it while he reads.

Speaking of the book that he’s skimmming through, it’s a rather odd choice on his behalf. You haven’t gotten the opportunity to read it yourself, busy as you usually are between your work shifts, adventurer’s guild commissions, and making sure your little brother doesn’t get himself into trouble by wandering directly into a gang of hilichurls in the middle of reading a book again. You’re pretty sure Xingqiu has read it at some point, though - to be honest, you wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already read every book in this shop several times over. (Part of you wonders if the only reason he’s so supportive of you venturing into the world and taking this job is because he gets to sit with you and read all the books he likes during your shifts.)

You don’t remember all the details he’d spewed off to you over the week or so he spent reading it, but you vaguely remember him crying into your sleeve about something to do with trees and lanterns and hugs. You’re also pretty sure that it got kind of… what’s the word? Risqué? Adult? Well, whatever word you use to describe it, it doesn’t really seem like the sort of thing that someone like Zhongli would read. Then again, you wouldn’t have ever expected your innocent gentleman of a little brother to read something like that, either.

“At least he seems to have good taste in fiction,” Xingqiu sighs as Zhongli continues to skim over the first few pages, looking rather intrigued. “I suppose that’s about as much as I can ask for…”

“He seems pretty invested,” You observe. “Reckon he’s going to buy it?”

Xingqiu shakes his head. “No. He’s going to come up here and realise he’s forgotten all his Mora again, and then you’re going to end up buying it for him again because you have a giant crush—”

You shove him in the shoulder so hard that he falls off his stool. “Oh, shut up.”

Xingqiu quickly catches himself on the side of the table and shoots you a glare, fumbling to retrieve the book that he’s accidentally dropped in the process. “Hey! This book doesn’t belong to us, you know.”

“It’s one book, A-Qiu,” You sigh as he turns away from you, clutching the book to his chest like it’s some precious child that you’re threatening to kidnap. “Mr Yao isn’t going to condemn you if it gets a little dusty.”

“Books should be treated with respect,” Xingqiu sniffs, turning up his nose at you like some nobleman - which he technically could be considered, now that you think about it. “You of all people should know that.”

“Just because I work at a bookshop doesn’t mean I think they’re Morax’s gift to man like you do,” You snort, noting in the corner of your eye that Zhongli’s eyes had flickered over to you briefly as you spoke. “Sure, books are neat, but they’re not holy.”

“‘Books are neat?’” Xingqiu repeats disbelievingly. “Of all the words to—”

“Excuse me.”

Both you and Xingqiu jump in startled surprise - neither of you had noticed Zhongli approach the front desk. You gather yourself quickly and smile at him as he quietly sets the book on top of the counter and pushes it towards you with a small nod.

“Will that be all?” You ask, reaching for one of the complimentary bamboo bookmarks that you’re obligated to give out with every purchase. You’re pretty sure that Zhongli has more than enough at this point, but you don’t want to risk getting into hot water with Mr Yao for not doing it.

Zhongli takes the bamboo bookmark with a small smile. “Yes, thank you.”

You nod and flick the book open to check the price label on the inside of the cover. “Alright, that’ll be… 5000 Mora, please.”

Xingqiu mutters something resignedly under his breath as Zhongli reaches into his pocket and fumbles about for a moment, clearly not particularly hopeful that the man has actually brought his money with him today. Your little brother, as usual, is perfectly correct in his intuition; after a second of slightly embarrassed silence, Zhongli pulls his hand out of his pocket with nothing in it.

“My apologies,” He sighs, bowing his head in shame. “I’ve forgotten my money pouch again.”

“I knew it,” Xingqiu whispers.

“A-Qiu, shut up,” You hiss back, then turn back to Zhongli, your smile back in place. “No worries, I’ll buy it for you.”

His brows pinch together slightly in the smallest of frowns. “No, no, you shouldn’t. You’ve already spent so much money on me…”

“It’s no big deal!” You assure him brightly, already reaching into your lapels to find your coin pouch. “You seemed to be really into it earlier, so it’d be a shame if you couldn’t keep it, right?”

Zhongli’s frown deepens. “Even so...”

“You could always pay back with something else,” Xingqiu chimes in, the exasperated look on his face replaced with a shit-eating grin that you know all too well. Before you can step in and shove him into the cabinet or something to shut him up, though, he continues, turning to you in a parody of innocence, “What do you say? Mr Zhongli clearly has some time on his hands…”

You narrow your eyes at him, not liking what he’s implying with that grin. “I’m still on shift, A-Qiu, I can’t just up and leave. Mr Yao would probably kill me.”

“You’ve been working shifts for two weeks straight,” He counters, crossing his arms stubbornly. “I can mind the shop for a long enough for you to take a walk. He won’t notice a thing.”

“You won’t ‘mind the shop’, you’ll just sit there and read,” You shake your head and tussle his hair with a flippant hand. “Don’t think I haven’t seen you eyeing up those antiques at the back.”

He looks affronted. “Are you accusing me of stealing intent?”

“I’m not accusing you of anything,” You explain patiently. “I’m just saying that your moral compass is very easily diverted when it comes to books.”

“If I may,” Zhongli begins, cutting off Xingqiu’s indignant spluttering. “I do not mind the idea.”

You turn to look at him in shock, only to see that his golden eyes are already fixed intently on you. He has the sort of gaze that makes you feel as if he’s seeing right through you, as if all of your faults and flaws and wishes and dreams are laid out bare for him to examine at his leisure - but Zhongli doesn’t look at you with any judgement. In fact, if you hope hard enough, you think that there might be some affection in his eyes.

“W-well, I—” You glance quickly back at Xingqiu, who pointedly refuses to help you, evidently offended by the moral compass comment. “I- I’d love to, honestly, but I need to finish my shift…”

“This young gentleman has already volunteered to take care of that for you,” Zhongli counters. There’s a strange intensity to the way he’s looking at you now - hope? Determination? “I know of a quiet spot just outside the harbour. If you would…?”

You glance at Xingqiu, who, despite still looking a little miffed, gives you a begrudging nod. After another moment of thought, you turn back to Zhongli, who gazes expectantly back at you.

“I’d love to go for a walk,” You say, standing up. “Lead the way.”

He smiles then, holding the door-curtain open for you to exit first. You pause briefly to wave a goodbye to Xingqiu, who pointedly sticks his nose in his book and pretends not to see it.

The two of you walk in silence for ten minutes or so, with him in the lead and you occasionally glancing behind you to make sure Xingqiu hasn’t already set the bookshop on fire or something. Zhongli walks rather more quickly than you’re used to, mostly because you usually walk with Xingqiu, who has refused to grow more than half an inch in the last three years and still has legs substantially shorter than yours. Zhongli seems to notice you lagging behind a little after a minute or so, slowing down his pace slightly so that the two of you can walk side by side properly.

“The breeze is pleasant this time of year,” Zhongli comments as the two of you cross the bridge to the mainland and begin to leave the harbour. “Particularly as the sun is going down.”

“I’ll have to get out to see the sunset more often, then,” You sigh. The amount of people milling about around you thins out the further the two of you walk from the harbour and along a grass-lined path, until the two of you are alone.

“I’d be happy to escort you,” He says, glancing quickly back at you, then snapping his head forward again. “...that is, if you’d like me to.”

You’re glad he isn’t looking at you, because you’re pretty sure that the look on your face is smitten to an absolutely ridiculous degree. It takes everything in you not to reach forward and grab Zhongli’s hand right then and there, but you restrain yourself just in time, knowing full well that initiating sudden physical contact with someone that you still don’t know all too well is incredibly rude.

“Of course I would,” You answer. “Just name a time and a place.”

He looks at you again, a gentle smile curving at his lips. “I’ll be sure to.”

The walk takes the two of you through a grove of trees dappled by the rich afternoon light. Zhongli speaks at length about the various different species that you pass; part of you is listening attentively, but the other part of you is far too distracted by the elegance of his quiet footsteps and the way the sunlight glows softly at the edges of his hair to register the information.

Leaves and branches crunch underfoot as Zhongli finally leads you out of the trees and out onto a quiet spot on the mountainside overlooking the harbour. He sits down on the ledge, legs dangling precariously over the edge, and you follow suit, quietly settling down beside him, leaving about two inches’ space between the two of you. Zhongli doesn’t say anything for a minute or so; he’s absorbed in watching the city below him, golden eyes darting back and forth as he watches the tiny figures of the people bustle about the streets.

You notice that he’s still holding the book you bought him earlier, keeping it set carefully in his lap with both hands placed firmly on top of it, as if he thinks it might slip out of his grasp and off the mountain if he isn’t careful.

“I’ve been meaning to ask,” You begin, catching his attention. He turns to look at you, and the sudden sight of his content expression, framed by the sprawling fields and trees in the distance behind him and the light casting his features into sharp relief, knocks all the air from your lungs for a moment. You very nearly choke on your words, but manage to gather yourself in time to ask, “Why the sudden change in interest?”

He cocks his head ever so lightly to the side in confusion, then realises what you’re referring. “Ah - the book? I just wanted a change of pace, really.”

You nod in understanding. “I see. A-Qiu’s read that one. He says it’s one of his favourites.”

“Is A-Qiu the young gentleman accompanying you in the bookshop?”

“Yup.” You sigh, leaning back and kicking your legs slightly, noticing with some fascination that you can faintly see yourself reflected on the water far beneath you. “Xingqiu. He’s my little brother.”

If you squint hard enough, you can see Zhongli’s reflection in the water as well. He’s shifting slightly - is he moving closer to you? You can’t quite tell from the reflection alone, and you’re not about to risk looking at him. Zhongli is a little like the sun in that respect: warming you indirectly with his presence, but damn near blinding (and incredibly flustering) to look directly at or make eye contact with. He’s almost ethereal-looking - as if he isn’t quite of this world.

“He seems a well-intentioned boy,” Zhongli comments quietly.

You respond with a light-hearted scoff. “I’m not too sure about that. He’s good at hiding it behind a book and all those airs and graces, but he’s always annoying me.”

“Is that not what younger siblings are for?” He counters, eyes twinkling slightly as you laugh in reply.

“I guess they are, huh?” You shake your head, a grin continuing to play on your lips as you finally turn to look back at him. Somehow the blinding beauty of before feels as if it’s mellowed out, become softer around the edges - like a surging river calming to a trickling stream.

The two of you sit in comfortable silence for a while. The late afternoon breeze picks up a little, and Zhongli’s hair dances about on the air, twisting and curling in swirls as if the very wind is playing with it. You’re so occupied by (subtly) staring at him that the small movement of him lifting a hand to adjust his tie makes you jolt slightly on the spot.

You can tell that he’s noticed as well, so you hurry to start a conversation before he can bring it up. “So… what’s the fascination with Yi Xichen?”

“...ah.” You might be imagining it, but you think you can see a faint flush forming over his cheeks. “The encyclopaedias?”

“What else?” You swing your legs back and forth restlessly, leaning forward and resting your cheek in your hand. “You must have at least fifteen copies by now. Are you collecting them or something?”

“Well, no...” He glances away from you, intertwining his fingers. “I suppose I’m not particularly good at ‘acting natural’, am I?”

You cock your head to the side. “What do you mean?”

Zhongli fiddles slightly with the seam of his glove, looking uncharacteristically bashful. “I have no need for encyclopaedias, but after the first few days, I found that I had fallen into the routine of selecting one every time I visited.”

“Why did you visit, then?” You ask.

He glances quickly at you, then back down at the water. He doesn’t answer at first, as if mulling over what to say, until finally, he replies, “...I suppose I just wanted to see you.”

It takes you a good moment to fully process what he’s just said to you. Once you do, though, your entire body implode. Well, it feels it does, anyway.

“I— you— me— huh?” is all you manage to get out at first, hands dancing around in front of you like two birds trying to escape from a net, as if they’re trying to physically pluck some words to say from the air. It’s a bad habit you’ve always had, throwing your hands about when you’re stressed; it drives you mad sometimes, but you can’t stop yourself.

Zhongli closes his eyes and bows his head, and there’s no mistaking it - his cheeks are definitely pinker than usual. “Is that alright?”

You nearly choke on air, but you force yourself to take a deep breath instead, fanning yourself briefly with one hand. Getting flustered heats you up surprisingly quickly. “Y-yeah! Of course it’s okay.”

“I’m glad.” He smiles a little bashfully, leaning forward and tilting his head slightly to look at you. “I don’t want to overwhelm you, but, if it’s alright… could I see you more often after today as well?

The sheer adrenaline rushing through you is so intense that you’re surprised that you haven’t busted a blood vessel yet. Actually, as far as you know, you might as well have - you’re far too focused on the man in front of you and his… confession? Is this a confession? You’ve read romance novels, sure, but is that how it works in real life as well? What are you supposed to do?

Your head is so filled with pure chaos that you just know that, if you speak, you’re going to say something completely inane and stupid. So, instead, you reach forward, and take his hand in your slightly shaky one.

He looks down at your intertwined fingers with mild surprise for a moment, then raises his gaze to you once more, eyes lighting up slightly. “...I’ll take that as a yes, then.”

You nod quietly, hesitantly shuffling closer to him. He squeezes your hand almost experimentally, then glances quickly back up at you as if trying to gauge your reaction. You offer him a smile; he returns it wholeheartedly.

You’re sure that you’ll have missed the rest of your shift by now, but you can’t seem to bring yourself to care. Zhongli doesn’t let go of your hand, and you in turn do not move away from him - if anything, you move closer, leaning slightly into his side. He doesn’t seem to notice, and if he does, he doesn’t object.

The sun is slowly beginning its descent, staining the sky a pale orange that reflects from the waters below you. It seems that the two of you will be seeing that sunset together a lot sooner than you had anticipated.

So I finally followed Genshin Impact's official Twitter because for some reason it didn't occur to me that they had one and I should follow until it popped up on my timeline through Tectone. And now I'm more up to date with stuff.

So as a result I do more Genshin searches on Twitter now and I've noticed something interesting.

The Traveler is the same no matter which twin you choose. The other will always be Abyss royalty and doing bad things. They are carbon copies of each other and their answers don't change no matter who you choose. And people's responses don't actually change. They'll stay as flirty/happy/angry that they are when talking to either. No matter which twin you're using, it feels like Lisa is flirting with you no matter what. And no matter who you pick, everyone thinks you're taking her on a date during that quest to get those damn books back. I use Lumine and was relieved that things weren't fucking changed from the version with Aether because they might 'sound gay and we can't have that' if Marjorie thinks Lisa and Lumine are on a date and is in full support.

So with this in mind, I find it so very interesting how there's a ridiculous amount of this fandom claiming that Aether is a better person than Lumine. That he's the superior twin to main. That Lumine is 'boring', 'bland', and 'lacks character'. Interesting since both have next to no speaking lines so the person playing them can basically live vicariously through them.

Also, I think the Traveler in general has enough character. Listen to the audio on the profile. Pay attention what's actually happening in the story. Their non-voiced responses are hilarious. They have substance and character aplenty.

But interesting how the female version of the basic Self-Insert MC for this story, is the one who gets shit on. By the same community who got all up in arms with wokeness over Eula's ancestor's shitty actions. Man, I got informed about that situation and people were really huffy about ridding the world of particular mindsets, and taking it out on a character who deliberately went against her family because she knew they were in the wrong. Where did the wokeness go?

Aether is prettier than Lumine, that's plain fact. But they're the same fucking person in terms of who is the Traveler!

A/n: hello everyone! Sorry I didn’t really post anything for the past few days, writers block hit me hard :’). But I’m here now! And I’m writing for xiao! I’ve noticed that I wrote for albedo a lot, which isn’t a bad thing per say, but I definitely want to branch out and do something different. So I think I’m gonna try to work on a Scaramouche fic, or headcanon… maybe. I’ll have to get a solid idea first of what I want to write. But anyway! I hope you enjoy and have a lovely day/ afternoon/ evening!

Meeting xiao is a privilege many don’t have, so the fact that you met him was astonishing, and then he was decently friendly to you compared to many other people?! That is truly a blessing. Xiao doesn’t like people, as we all know, and he won’t shy away from being apprehensive towards them, but he was in one of his better moods when you two first met, so you almost got a free pass. Which you won’t get again.

You have to be the one to seek out xiao. He’s not going to do it himself. You need to be patient, and kind with him, because he’s going to push you away many, many times. He’ll claim it’s for your own safety, but in reality he’s just scared. Scared for you yes, but scared for his own feelings and well being. Which is valid! But. Pushing others away isn’t going to help, which I think he knows deep down.

After many arguments, many talks, a lot of time, and trust, Xiao slowly (very very slowly.) Starts to fall for you, and he hates it. He hates that he’s become venerable, and he hates that he wasn’t able to push you away. But he also is thankful that he’s feeling this way. It’s a sign to himself that he’s not alone anymore.

Xiao doesn’t act too differently when he realizes his feelings for you, he’s a bit more… accepting of your presence. He won’t huff in annoyance anymore when you ask to help him with anything (ie: fights, helping his wounds after said fight, just helping around the inn, you know that sorta stuff), and instead he may take you up on your offer.

In said case of helping xiao with anything really, he’ll be stealing glances at you every so often. He isn’t one to admire many things, but you are a rare case, so you’re almost an exception.

Just being trusted by xiao, let alone being friends with him means that you will probably encounter a few times where his karma gets too overwhelming. You will have to calm him down, he’ll tell you to stay back, and what I’m about to say may sound wrong, but don’t. Listen. To. Him. Do everything in your power to calm him, music is a something that almost instantly helps him. That and if you play with his hair. It grounds him, and if you do both then great! He calms down even sooner. Just be gentle with him, please.

Ok the topic of helping xiao calm down when his karma gets too intense, he’ll fall even more in love with you. How gentle you were with him really shows how much you care. He’ll probably feel bad, and even ashamed that you had to see him that way so just reassure him, please tell him that he’s fine, safe, and that he did a good job calming down. It’ll make him almost tear up because of how thankful he is.

Over time xiao gets more, and more comfortable with you, and so he’ll be getting more… clingy. I think that xiao is very clingy, protective, and gets jealous pretty easily. He just wants to be near you at least, he won’t be very touchy unless you let him be. He respects your boundaries ok.

Xiao never confesses his feelings to you. You both either silently accept that you’re basically dating, because you do some very couple like things, or you confess to him and actually have a talk about your feelings. Either way you probably end up dating in some sort of capacity.

Not genshin related but instead yttd related. Just some speculations and wild guessing- beware of 3b spoilers

Alright so in Sou route rn there's only 4 survivors while Kanna route has five (smh Kanna route gets all the love huh).

So that means that in Sou route, not only will everyone get one of each role but also the death game will definitely end because there would be only two survivors left after the main game.

My bets on who's getting what role for Sou route is-

Sou with Keymaster (yttd seems like looping back to the begging with things, so having Sou lie about having keymaster first game and then actually have keymaster last game feels fitting).

Since only the people alive in this route are the ones who killed Kanna, I feel like he'd definitely try to get himself voted off to kill everyone or maybe he has an actual redemption arc this chapter and the roles of Sara and Sou are switched from first main game to last (like Sara lying about her role for whatever reason while Sou is guiding the discussion idk why she would but I feel like it would just be cool lmao)

Sara with either seer or she actually has sacrifice this time (like how she found the sacrifice card under the table but didn't get it cause she already had keymaster). Seer is the only card that Sara has never picked up or had so it's a very likely candidate, maybe she would see that Sou is the keymaster and assume that he would try to kill everyone because of how they killed Kanna. Sacrifice wouldn't trigger Sara as much as it did in chapter 2 because she repressed her memories of Joe, and also Sacrifice holds the most power in this game as well.

If Sara does get seer then two other candidates for sacrifice would be Gin or Keiji, maybe if you chose Alice dies Sou route it goes to Keiji or if you chose Reko dies Sou route it goes to Gin.

I could totally see a situation where you get the choice to save either Gin or Keiji.

I think it would pretty ironic if the final survivors of the death game would the girl with highest survival percentage and the man with the lowest.

Also if Sara was sacrifice and did managed to get voted off, you'd get the choice to either save Gin, Sou, or Keiji.

For Kanna route I feel like Kanna would the be one with the seer (since she lied about it in the beginning as well and it just feels fitting) or maybe keymaster

And reko/alice with commoner probably

Sara would have either seer (if Kanna didn't get it) or keymaster (I don't see Sara getting sacrifice this route)

Gin either has commoner or sacrifice

And Keiji either has commoner or sacrifice

I'm less sure about the roles this route cause it wouldn't be the last main game for them, because there would be three left unless sacrifice wins. The death game is meant to go on until only two or one person is left.

Also everytime during sacrifice's death, there's always the button. In Joe's death, sara kept pressing it. While in Nao's death, Sara couldn't press it at all. Idk why this stood out to me but it did

Also new rules keep getting added with the main games it seems, with chapter 2 updated the rules with trades and ties. Maybe some new rules could be adding new cards, a new way to trade cards, ect.

Also there's still some mysteries that are unsolved

Where's Mishima's head

Mishima is suspicious in general- he's the only candidate that passed the first trial who's wish we don't know (besides Keiji and I feel like this is gonna be important), and he shows up every chapter. I feel like he isn't actually the mastermind (I don't feel like there's "one" mastermind like danganronpa) but he is suspicious.

Who was in Sue miley's room? I personally place my bets on Meister since he looks all bandaged up but it could very well be a dummy who didn't actually die, Kai perhaps (since slitting your wrists is actually one of the most survivable methods of suicide I think), or a character we don't know yet (pfft watch it be Ryoko lol)

Who was Sue miley talking to in chapter 2? I don't think it's midori or Meister since the person seemed (the way the person talked didn't seem like how they would act), or anyone we actually met before since Sara and Keiji didn't recognize the voice. It could be that Rei (I think that's the name) person in Ytts that is revealed to actually have been apart of the group before being forgotten (in Ytts when someone dies they are "forgotten" so I think that's the implication with Rei).

So maybe Rei was a possible Candidate but ending up dying before the death game could ever start like how Midori did and their right to the death game was forfeited.

Next up is why was the Joe painted taken during Sou Route. When Ranmaru goes to rest and Sara leaves him before a while before coming back, the Joe painting is stolen. I think the implication is that Ranmaru took it cause in Kanna route that dosent happen. I just find it kinda silly that Ranmaru is jealous of an painting of Sara's dead best friend that she can't even remember. I just find it silly, and I don't know if it'll be addressed in 3-2.

Also who's Sara's real dad? Most of the cast in yttd is missing an father or parents (Possibly because they're parents mightve been in on the deathgame too, since Asunaru has information on them since they were children). A tiny theory of mine is that the person who Keiji killed was not Joe's dad but instead actually Sara's. It dosent really have that much proof other than I think it would be cool and both Sara and Mr. Policeman have red hair.

What got Sara into the deathgame? Sara never signed the contract so what brought her in? The only two candidates for wishing Sara in are Mishima and Keiji since we don't know their wishes. I could totally see an situation where Keiji wished that he got the chance to reconcile with Mr. Policeman's child (since he killed their dad). I'm leaning towards Keiji being the reason why Sara is here but not Mishima since Mishima and Sara don't really have an connection.

Though I guess it would be funny if Mishima wished to have more students to teach and since the death game is probably revolving around Sara, Asunaro just took that has a chance to shove her in.

What were Joe and Kai talking about? In the survalince it shows Kai and Joe both talking, seeming serious but there was no audio so we couldn't tell. My bet is that Joe was confronting Kai about being Sara's stalker or having some connections with Asunaro, Joe isn't as dumb as the fandom makes him out to be imo so it seems reasonable that he would notice that.

Alright I spilled out my brain now, time to wait 50 years for the new chapter byeeee

“Okay.” Kaeya slammed his hands on the table in the Knights Headquarters, spreading out a map that was poorly glued back together. “Now that we’ve got the last shred of the map, thanks to our traveler, we can find out the Abyss Order’s next move.”

Everyone gathered around, eyeing the map with intensity. You noticed a faded star beside a body of water and pointed to it. “What’s this?”

“Lover’s Lake.” The cryo user answered back, inspecting it further, “It’s a hot spring that only allows honeymooning couples. It makes sense that they’d hide out there- there’s no way we could get in as a group. But the markings are faded on the map, they could be long gone from there.”

“We found that piece in the water!” Paimon exclaimed, “The ink could’ve washed off!”

Kaeya hummed. “Then it couldn’t hurt to check. We need two people to go undercover and check out Lover’s Lake. Any volunteers?”

“Ooh! Ooh! Paimon knows who!”

You fiddled with the gold ring on your finger, hiding behind a bush near the front of the spa entrance. The entire team was with you, going over the plan.

“You’ll head in, scout the area.” Jean explained for the final time, “Find out how many members are in there. If it’s enough for you to handle, take them on. If not, come back and get us. We’ll find a way in.”

“Why don’t you just find another way in now, instead of waiting for this stupid plan to work?” Diluc spoke from beside you, eyeing his own ring with distaste. Your heart hurt a little- your own crush was playing your husband, and it looked like he’d rather jump into the warpath of a mitachurl than be married to you.

“Because,” Lisa mused, “We don’t want to go in full force unless we have to. It’s easier to have the employees on our side so that Y/N and Diluc can walk around more openly and search. It’s harder to do such a thing when we’re also on the lookout for them. Though we do need to make sure the employees aren’t suspicious either...”

The redhead huffed, but stayed silent.

A few more pep-talks later, you and Diluc were pushed from the cover of the bush. You began walking with him beside you, without talking. He was in a bad mood and you felt as if walking on eggshells around him was the best course of action right now.

At least, until his fingers reached for yours.

Your eyes widened a bit as Diluc fully intertwined your hands and you looked at him, a slight blush on your cheeks.

“What?” He snapped, “We’re married, right? Let’s act like it. I’d rather not have this plan fail.”

“Right, sorry.” You replied. The feeling of his gloved palm against yours was dizzying, making your heart flutter with every second. But alas, the butterflies’s wings were made of razors, cutting deeper into you the more you realized that this was fake.

“Let’s look for clues.”

You were in already?

You looked back at the front of the hot spring, wondering just how you zoned out for so long. Diluc had let go of your hand. It was cold.

“Should we split up-“

“Hi, are you the Ragnvindrs?” A cheery lady wearing the Lover’s Lake uniform came up to you both.

“Yes, can I help you?” Diluc stepped closer to you, wrapping an arm securely around your waist. For extra measure, he pressed a kiss against the side of your head.

“I’d just like to inform you that the springs are having a rather informal party tonight for all the couples! We hope to see you there!”

As she walked away, you turned to face your partner. His arm never left its place around you, but you said nothing. “Idea.”

“Do tell.”

“Everyone’s gonna be partying and dancing. We just need to wait until they’re all distracted there to sneak off and find the entrance to their little hideout. Remember, Lisa said we don’t need to let anyone be suspicious. That’s a perfect time to do it.”

Diluc thought for a moment, then nodded. “Good idea. Anything to make this go by faster, right? For now, let’s keep looking until this evening.”

You agreed, once again pushing down the nearly unbearable hurt in the middle of your chest.

“There’s no fucking way we’re getting away from here unnoticed.”

“We’ve got to try... look around and see if you find anything.”

You walked slowly around the stone walkways that circled the hot spring pools, admiring the string lights that were glowing softly in the night sky. A live group was playing music in the corner, where some other couples were dancing.

You looked like a typical married couple walking around, your arm linked with Diluc’s and both your minds working for a new plan. How to get distract all the employees and attendees in order to open and infiltrate the Abyss Order hideout- which you found earlier, cloaked behind a large hut that sold towels and fruity drinks.

Diluc’s grip tightened on your arm and he leaned down, his breath hitting your ear and making you shiver. “Let’s make everyone dance. We can dance a little for our alibi, and then slip away like I know some of the other couples will do for the night.”

You flushed at that implication, but nodded. You knew your slipping away was going to be nothing like the other couples’s.

Diluc patted your arm and let go, walking over to the head employee and whispering something in her ear. She clapped her hands together and grinned, cupping her hands over her mouth as Diluc returned back to you.

“Everyone! Let’s take this special moment to recreate our first dances! Find your spouse and head to the dance floor, please!”

Murmurs of excitement spread throughout the crowd and everyone congregated closer to the band. Diluc pulled you along, eventually stopping and turning to you. He placed his hands on your waist and you wrapped yours around his neck, laying your head against his chest for an extra-convincing look. Or were you doing it just because you yearned for more touch from him?

Not the time to psycho-analyze, Y/N.

Diluc started to sway with the music and once again leaned down to your ear. “Only for a little while, and then we can finally get this over with and stop this silly little act.”

That seemed to be the final stake into your heart.

Your eyes began to fill with tears against your will and you tensed up, accidentally letting out a rather loud breath. Diluc lifted his head from yours.

“Are you alright?”

“Mhm.” You didn’t trust your voice.

He wasn’t going to say anything more until he began to feel his shirt become wet. He grabbed your face and lifted it up, his red eyes meeting with your ready ones. “Wh- what’s wrong with you?”

“It’s nothing, Diluc, I promise.” You tried to pull your head away, but he held it firmly in place.

“Tell me.”

“No, it’s stupid!”

“It’s not stupid if it made you upset. Please, Y/N, I don’t like seeing you sad.”

You closed your eyes for a moment and took a breath. “I just don’t want this to be finally over.”

Diluc furrowed his eyebrows. “I-I don’t get it.”

“This little act! I just-“ You sighed. Now or never. “I don’t want it to be an act. I actually like you, Diluc. And it hurts so much to be so affectionate with you- hugging and kissing you- just for it to mean nothing to you.”

“Who said it meant nothing to me?” Now you were confused.

“What? Then why’d you act like you didn’t want to even be near me?”

“I thought you were uncomfortable with it,” He reasoned, “I thought you didn’t want to do it, so I was trying to reassure you that it would be over with soon. It meant so, so much to me. You mean so much to me.”

“So, you like me back?”

Diluc rolled his eyes and leaned forward, capturing your lips and a quick, but sweet kiss. It was just a peck, but it was enough to make your heart swirl. “Is that a good answer?”

You grinned. “I think I need a little more reassurance.”

Diluc smiled softly back, but only ruffled your hair. “I’ll reassure you as much as you want after we finish off this hideout. C’mon, let’s go.”

So for the past few years I’m not really in any community or anything so I’m just really out of the loop and kinda just floating around which can feel a lil lonely cause it feels like I don’t belong anywhere or anything, and if feels really empty cause I’m not passionate about anything with people I know. I’ve made quite a bit more artists friends the past few years as well but it never went anywhere beyond that first few interactions in the group chat/I only interacted in a group chat (that are now all dead) I feel like I’m not acknowledged by other artists around me and/or I’m not good enough. I don’t draw a lot of fan art either so that plays a huge factor in getting noticed or joining a community :/ i also feel like because of this, ive been becoming/feeling more distant with existing art friends and haha seeing them become better friends with others makes me think that I’m getting abandoned :’) or this irrational fear that they hate me because of something i said or did that i didn’t know hurt them or something. I feel like I’ve also closed myself off more and more because of this, u know where you distant yourself so you don’t get hurt when they do leave thanks abandonment issues and then in the end I end up all alone, which I’ve come to brainwash myself saying “I’ll be fine alone, I’ll get used to it” but even if I do, I can’t help but feel envious when I see artists friends on Twitter tagging each other in art memes, replying to their art posts, etc etc. I get over it in the end cause I know that in the end it’s really all my fault for not trying to become close to other artists. You can argue and say “but udon, just get into a fandom then and start there” but I just can’t, It’s hard for me to get obsessed over things/get into things compared to when I was younger. Nothing strikes an interest in me anymore and even if it does, it’s not too deep or deep enough where I’d want to draw fan art (no:ze being an exception cause I’ve been really obsessed with her lately, but she’s not art/anime related). I started playing genshin but I already grew bored of it kinda after a week. I mean I’d still go on and do commissions even though I’m barely into the Liyue story line so I actually have a ton of content, but I’m simply not…. too interested. Also school needs me to worry about assignments so I gotta prioritize (which I still fail at) but god that goes to show how short my attention span is for liking things nowadays it’s kinda sad. Speaking of school, there’s just so many things to think about on top of these sadass feelings, it’s a lot. It leaves me no time to draw much lately, and I only manage to draw if I decide to prioritize art over school work, which makes me more stressed in the end cause I’ll have no time to work on them. I think I was able to distract myself from these feelings during the summer cause I kept myself preoccupied with making my VN, so I focused all my energy there cause I love making my VNs, forgetting all about my Sadness and Not Belonging-ness, but now that I’m done making it, I have more time to not be happy/not be able to do things I like. Also all this is probably my pre-period PMS talking as we all know, but I can’t deny that Ive still been feeling like this for the past few years. All I ever wanted was a close knit art friend group that I’m able to have fun with and chill with, and be acknowledged, and loved and wanted. I’ve had a few groups before, but they always end up becoming a ghost town or two of them getting into a fight and end up splitting up. Anyway, that is all I wanted to dump here to get it out. I know it’s still a problem that ultimately it’s up to me to fix for myself but idk when I’ll be able to fix it. Can’t it just miraculously happen one day pls. Notice me senpais (even on a serious post I still end up joking at the end to brush it off and not make things too depressed sounding which undoubtedly that is what I am. Which I’ve come to terms with and accepted that even though there are people out there doing a lot more worse than I am, my own depression isn’t something I should invalidate. But it’s still a work in progress. I need to start looking for a therapist highkey.

TLDR:

General:

- I will only make oneshots(or one chaptered stories), because god knows writing a full on story is the last thing I need to do right now.

- Fluff, Crack, and Angst are obviously allowed.

- You may request for something containing r*pe or ab*se and the other very sensitive stuff, but only if it is mentioned or implied. If you wish for it to actually be part of the fic, I will not insert it happening, but rather the events that lead up to that point, because again it is a sensitive topic.

- Graphic Violence is allowed.

- AU's are allowed of course, but not all of them.

- Certain AU's like Sci-fi will not be guaranteed. I am not big on these genres, but depending on the details of it, if you have any specifics that is, I might be able to make something up.

- Stuff like your usual Mafia AU is also not a guarantee for the same reason as Sci-fi.

- AU's regarding religion or history are not guaranteed, it may depended on what you wish to base it off of, but other than that, no promises.

- AU's regarding politics are also a big no because I am not big on it, first off. And secondly, I barely know stuff about it anyways.

- Controversial topics as you may notice are only slightly guaranteed. Said controversial topics will regard; > Suicide, Depression, Mental Illnesses, Any form of disorders, Traumatic Experiences and so on. None of which I have experience and knowledge with, and the last thing I wanna do is make assumptions and possibly offend someone.

Ship Stories:

- General rules will still apply to these things.

- I will not write smut, I am personally uncomfortable with writing it.

- I am willing to allow something spicy(like a make out scene or whatever), but they will never be going all the way.

- If you wish for the sexual content to at least be implied or mentioned I can do it, but I will never write the actual scene of the action.

- Stalkers and Yanderes are allowed I suppose, but only if it is either mentioned, implied, or the stalker/yandere is not one of the people in the ship. I am personally uncomfortable with these things, so I hope you understand.

Boundaries:

-  I am fine with my works being shared with people, I have nothing to hide, but please do give credits.

- Constructive criticism is a yes, but please be careful with your words, as it can easily offend.

- Do not argue in the comments, if someone says something bad, please do not take the bait and let me handle it. Let the fire die, don't feed it.

- If you could remain formal though and keep things as if like they were a proper debate/conversation that avoided offending anyone, I may let it slide. However, the second it goes too far, I will step in.

- If you don't like a story, leave. Don't linger there only to tell me it's "immoral", "bad, "wrong", or "it sucks", not unless what you have to say is actually proper criticism and something I can learn from. I have other stories, if you don't like a particular one, just stop reading it. If you don’t like me in particular, what are you even doing reading one of my stories?

It has been... at least two years since a Comic Con. I went to Dutch Comic Con in Utrecht and hoo boy what a delight. Apologies in advance.

Colin O’Donoghue. He was there, and this time for real. Last Dutch Comic Con I was absolutely destroyed emotionally because he had to cancel days in advance. Every time since he said he would come again, but the pandemic stopped the event from happening. I honestly could not believe my eyes when I finally saw his presence. I think the day before I was in tears because I was just so happy he landed, nothing could go wrong, right? Right!!!!!! Alright...

Day one.

God bless I still fit in my Ladybug outfit! I gained some corona kilos...

I barely slept. I kept waking up, kept having bad dreams about what could go wrong as I often do, so I was absolutely exhausted. I left early. My schedule... be ready for a photo with Colin at 13:00 and be at the Q&A at 14:30. Alright; get going from 10:15 to 13:00 then! I started the day by exploring where the main stage was and where the photos were taken; I even got informed for the Meet & Greet I’d have the next day. I wanted to be prepared. Luckily the photo and Meet & Greet I paid for two years ago, so I did not feel the pain in my wallet (umm but wait until I mention day 2 rofl, I caved).

For most of the day I was alone, so I could not take photos with other cosplay, but I loved seeing so many cosplay of Genshin Impact! It was actually one of the few fandoms I could recognize. I was surprised by the lack of Once Upon A Time cosplays considering Colin’s presence (though on day 2 there were a little more). During the day I did gain a massive headache and ended up nauseous, I couldn’t really eat or drink - not even water. In fact, I wondered if it was the water that made me nauseous. I barely had anything to eat or drink that day. I wonder if it was the stress/nerves/anxiety; I am pretty stressed out in general at the moment due to personal life stuff, but obviously meeting your favourite actor adds to that, because I kept thinking of all the things that could go wrong.

Either way, I did take a photo with one cosplay and it was of course my Genshin Impact favourite character, Kazuha! The cosplayer did not notice I was trying to get a photo with them as I softly yelled their character name hahaha, apparently people usually take photos with their friends? They were convinced their outfits were more amazing and that makes me sad. In the end, this Kazuha was the only person I took a photo with! So you’re amazing, whoever you are.

I chose this pic, cuz the Aether in the background made me laugh. Also shit I forgot to wear my Hook necklace-

One of the Chat Noir cosplays actually walked towards me to give me a rose and I thought that was so cute. ;w; I told them I saw a child cosplaying Ladybug that morning, sadly they never saw them. I bet the kid would’ve loved that.

I was awkwardly holding it until I officially declared it dead. I thought it was really cute though! Thank you very much Chat Noir. It genuinely made my day - uhh - besides meeting my favourite actor that is. 

I wanna share my day 1 loot before I get into the whole Colin thing though, because once I start I won’t be able to contain myself.

The photos don’t really do it justice, but the Frodo figurine looks fucking SICK! It is so amazing. I was hesitant between a statue or figurine, but I had exactly 70 euros left and the figurine was 65 euros. It was meant to be. The statues were obviously more expensive.

The Kazuha charm I bought within five minutes of arriving, ahaha. I got a Kazuha charm and two Kazuha buttons. I really like Kazuha you guys. I also found charms of Ladybug and Chat Noir which I obviously had to buy.

OH YEAH, SUPER EPIC STUFF INCOMING BY THE WAY.

During the cosplay contest which I ended up watching, someone actually proposed to their partner! I actually saw a proposal in real life! Sappy little me obviously cried. Basically... the cosplayer got pulled on stage as surprise and the hosts said “we want you to dance to this” and it was that song that goes ‘hey I wanna marry you’ except their partner suddenly came out singing it. Gosh I’m such a hopeless romantic sometimes, I kept wiping tears from behind my Ladybug mask. It was great, they did not see it coming at all, you could see their surprise. It was great. I can’t believe I got to witness that... at Comic Con, no less.

One of the cosplay contest judges was dressed as Gorou and they could dance good and I was just 👀 you look nice.

Alright... are you ready for me embarrassing myself? Because I am about to... look at this awfully embarrassing photo of me with Colin!

CAN YOU TELL I WAS NERVOUS??? I am just standing there like “o_o” ahaha. Gee golly what an event. I took my mask off since I did not want to be masked on my photo with him. When I tried to look earlier if he was really here, he did not sit at the signing table yet, but in the queue I got to talk to the woman who definitely had seen him at the signing table already. I had a really good talk with her (only met really cool fans), she was a woman with a husband and kids, so we joked about certain things like her keeping the photo under her pillow, how her husband would be mad, and I joked she could totally bring the photo to the stand that turns photos into pillows to place on her couch. It was all good fun and teasing haha. I let her go before me also so I could observe. 

And gosh did I observe. You only start seeing him when there’s like... four people before you? So you look at what kind of photos they are taking. Everyone posed very regular, hence why me too, and I noticed there was a ‘no touching’ policy. Naturally I immediately got very nervous, still wondering if this was real, and the closer I got, the redder I probably got too??? I shuffled closer and kept distance because of the no touching, and the camera was like “get closer!” and I was just screaming on the inside. I did not know what was allowed and what wasn’t and afterwards I realized that as soon as I stepped towards him, I barely looked at him. I couldn’t, I was too nervous, and then I felt bad I never properly looked at him up close. I just... gosh. But it was okay, I knew I had a Meet & Greet the next day.

Gosh I even got so embarrassed because the camera man was like, “do a funny dance :D” and I just go “o_o no I can’t dance” hahahaha.

A little later was his Q&A and gosh I wish I had better memory. The interviewer on this first day was awful by the way, I am sorry to say this. He put Colin in a very embarrassing position (and I feel like he has a hard time saying no when there is a spotlight on him?) so he kinda did things of which I had a feeling he wasn’t into. Also feels bad everyone keeps asking him to sing (because of the musical episode). I already knew he wasn’t a fan of that. Either way, this interviewer was... just embarrassing and I hated that he indeed kinda treated Colin like some snack for the ladies. Yeah, he’s handsome, but for the love of god, that’s not all that is to him. I really hated that attitude. I bet a lot of woman actresses have to deal with this as well if they happen to be sexy, except if it were a woman, people would immediately deem certain comments more inappropriate. Does not help he snuck many Dutch sentences in here, so Colin even has no idea. I don’t know, I was really experiencing some form of secondhand embarrassment. Grrr! 

But we did find out some fun info. For example, that Josh Dallas, Colin O’Donoghue and Michael Raymond-James (if I am correct) were really competitive about making people laugh in the Neverland season. Apparently Josh Dallas had a fart machine, I just find it hilarious, because when I think of Josh Dallas, I do NOT think of fart humour. Amazing. Sadly I really don’t remember a lot though, I wish I wrote them down. 

I ended up this day being really nauseous, had a killer headache due to lack of hydration (and probably the bad rest), but I did get some pasta down for dinner. I was with my good friend at that point (we met after the Q&A, the idea of starting the day together and having to time all the Colin-events while also being with a friend gave me too much stress as well, so we found a good midway).

Came home, rested my feet, and went to bed as early as I could get my dailies done in video games haha! Also because our clocks changed THIS very weekend to summer time, yikes!

Day two.

I felt so much better! After I tried to eat/drink I did feel a little nausea coming up, but that disappeared after the Meet & Greet. Maybe it was the stress/anxiety after all? It was far from as bad as the day before though. I did decide I wanted to have a more chill and warmer outfit, so I went for my ‘scuffed Ellie’ (because I don’t look like Ellie at all). I also finally got my first cup of coffee that weekend. I did not have any on Saturday. So fucking good.

As I said, I look nothing like her, I just happen to have her hoodie and put in a ponytail. Just a casual cappuccino. It felt sooo good to finally have coffee. I feel like I needed it the day before. I did arrive an hour later, realizing the clock change and hey: I did not need to be on-time as much. Q&A was at 14:30 (because obviously I want to see Colin as much as I can; this is my one opportunity), and the Meet & Greet at 15:30.

I did an extra round in the artist alley and ended up buying even more merchandise... I still had some cash left so why not (I say this now... wait until you hear more...).

The first two are Pokémon, the purple being a Noibat that was just too cute to resist, and the white fox is an Alola Vulpix. I love its evolution more, but people prefer to draw Vulpix somehow. its evolution is my absolute favourite Pokémon. The first bottom one is just a cute derpy cat, I love the art style. Gives a storybook-vibe. The last one, the blue guy, is Dorian Storm from Critical Role. I am not up-to-date by the way! No spoilers! I know already one detail regarding Dorian but I know nothing story-wise. I love that his hair shapes a little heart. It’s all in the details.

I’m also quickly going to show the reason I got a fuckin’ kids menu at burger king... they had Miraculous toys... so sad I wasn’t in my Ladybug outfit on day 2 man, hahaha. 

It is a double-layered plastic item that I can open and Chat Noir reveals or something. Pretty cool! This was at the very end when I suddenly noticed a friend of mine (who my friends know as “the furry who works as Domino’s delivery guy” hahaha). We had burger king together and they gave me a lift home (they being the friend and their friends lol, they went as a group).

Either way, back to the event haha.

I did not take any photos with cosplay, but this Dead By Daylight cosplay... the fact that the killer actually lifted the survivor, I had to take a photo!

How cool is that??? If you play the game you are guaranteed to know the characters too.

So that morning I was just vibing and stuff, remembered what Colin said yesterday... “maybe I will wear eyeliner tomorrow” or something along those lines... and thought... hmm... I should go and see about maybe getting a second photo since you can buy them on the spot too, I saw that yesterday... and hooooooo boy there went my money. Oh yeah, that happened. I went to the photo booth around 13:15 because I knew the time slots were the same and asked if I could buy tickets still or if it was sold out. They weren’t (RIP wallet 2022), so I went in line. There was a very nice Alucard cosplay behind me, and another character in front of me. They knew each other, so I kinda got involved in their conversation as I was between them.

The unknown character had been talking about that she was looking up poses for photo ops with a ‘no touch’ policy. This made me think “oh shit” and went googling immediately haha, I never thought of that! I ended up finding some really funny photos of other actors at Comic Con, but I still blanked out. I did get some ideas through them, like standing back to back or make heart hands together without actual touch. Ended up with going for neither ahaha! The girl in front of me discussed with Colin, she wanted a pose kinda similar to a prom pic, and as i saw that my brain went ‘I will have what she is having’ ahaha. Screw the other ideas! So when I made my way towards him, making sure to observe him more than the day before (this is also a huge reason why I went for another photo I feel like, I felt so bad I did not dare look at him due to nerves) and basically said “am I allowed the same treatment” and of course he was fine with it. The girl also did not mind I stole the pose, she said it was cute. 😳 I still feel like I look embarrassing, but you can be the judge of that. 

Not in this picture: the fact that his hands were basically on my hips...ish. 😳 S-sir there is a no touch policy.

At the end we were waiting for our photo to be printed and gosh I was SHAKING. I even said out loud “I’m not shaking, you are!” looking at how my hand was basically vibrating, and the girl who was in front of me basically took my hand and although I forgot what exactly she said, it was obviously positive. Gosh. Whoever you are, stranger, thanks! As I said before, I only met awesome fans.

The Q&A after that had a really good interviewer! I believe it was done by Brainpower and you could tell he actually looked into Colin and what other things he had done by Once Upon A Time. It was so refreshing and not gonna lie, he looked a lot more comfortable too. I was stood to the side this time, because I knew I had to miss the ending for the Meet & Greet. I was leaning against something and honestly... if anyone paid attention to me, I feel like you could physically see me have heart eyes. I don’t know what it was. Maybe the fact I did not feel nauseous at this point allowed me to feel so... enlightened. I was just enjoying watching them and I got this funny feeling in my stomach. It was a weird feeling. It was so different the day before; maybe because the interviewer disturbed me so much. I just felt good. Maybe I just don’t remember as well what feeling genuinely good feels like and it was just that.

FUN FACT: remember the scene where Hook had to throw a dart in the bullseye of a dartboard with his back turned to it? He actually NAILED IT, but he was so surprised and amazed that they had to cut that take. He got too excited that he actually did it, haha. You can catch it in the bloopers and I indeed remember him weirdly reacting to the camera, I just did not recall what it was about. Either way!

Other detail I suddenly remember. I remember he did mention a couple times that he did like that about the last season of Once Upon A Time, where his Hook variant had a kid; Colin actually just had a baby daughter around that time, so I guess it kinda connected. Nice! I do love when he just talks about family stuff, because it feels more casual.

I also just remembered that, even though he said on day one that he could do the worm but found it unfit to do here, he just did it on day two! Someone asked if he could show his best dance move and there he went, on the floor. Ah, that reminds me of the Captain Floor jokes, haha!

FUN FACT: remember the scene where Dark One Hook visited Rumplestiltskin in his shop? Robert Carlyle had no idea that Colin was going to imitate Rumplestiltskin at that moment with the arm movements and stuff - when Colin did that, Robert Carlyle just stared at him and said “never do that again” or something along that line. Hilarious that they still used it.

Another not-so-fun-but-still-interesting fact is that during the beanstalk scene on season 2, when Killian has to catch Emma from falling, he actually hit the stunt-woman with his metal hook. Luckily not with the pointy end, but he felt really bad about it. He said he also did most of the stunts himself where he could, but yeh, insurance do be a thing so he didn’t do anything. He also explaind interest in various action-movie roles (James Bond, Batman, Superman, uhh something else I forgot), so I feel like this might be his highest interest at the moment? Who knows. I am a little sad I did not ask if he was interested in ever doing horror again.

So I ended up going to the Meet & Greet area after that. I got to talk with the fans a bit beforehand, we all had this attitude of “well we paid for this two years ago, sooo” and we all had mutual feelings about the time he had to cancel. I remember it hurt extra much because the posters were still hanging. Ugh. No need to feel sad about that anymore though! One girl actually bought all the photo slots. How does a person have that kind of money? Not gonna lie, if I had the money, I might have done the same, ahaha. “Hey Colin... it’s me again...” - can you imagine?

As we went upstairs with the host, I started to physically feel my heartbeat pounding. Dang, was I that nervous for a group event? It was me and six other women. I just had no idea what to expect and I had been thinking so much about what to say; many questions I had on my mind already got answered during the Q&A, some directly and some indirectly. Luckily I did remember some things I wanted to ask, also because I partially wrote it down. Gosh, when he came in he initially peeked around the corner, I was mostly on the side so seeing eyes suddenly pop from behind the curtain - it was a thing. We found out that his pandemic hobby became sourdough baking and he claims to make the best pizza. Obviously I gotta see that before I believe it, hahaha. He has two pizza ovens. He doesn’t need two, but he does anyway. Bet the kids love that. I remember I asked two questions, such as asking him where he’d like to visit (answer: India) and that I just had to ask if he had been to New Zealand (answer: he has). I am truly jealous hahaha. He went there for honeymoon, but I believe he also said he barely had two days to explore? I don’t know, my memory is fuzzy. Might remember in the morning. I also asked him which actor/actresses he would like to work with, but sadly I only remembered Meryl Streep, and I think Leonardo DiCaprio (not too sure though). I am so sorry for my memory! The Meet & Greet had an interesting set-up by the way, basically the seven of us sat on bar stools and across he got to sit in this comfy chair. I wonder how much of the ego he’d put in some of his answers were genuine. It’s very Hook, but I know that Colin isn’t as close to Hook as he would like to be, hehe.

Really trying to grind my memory. So much happened. He told us so much. He was definitely a lot sassier during the Q&A on day one by the way, now that I think of it. 

Alright, I can’t think of what else had been said and done. I know I was there, and that it is somewhere in my mind, but that’s it. Besides, I am not here to spill all the beans on Colin anyway (heck, this blogging is mostly for myself so I can read back on fond memories).

After the Meet & Greet I lingered with this Belgian woman. She had an amazing English accent, I would have easily assumed her to be British. Did not even mention Colin’s delightful Irish accent btw, we don’t get to hear that much. I love the way he pronounces the word ‘school’. Apparently I vibe with mothers who are Colin fans?? Because she was absolutely my favourite person to meet during this whole convention. She is apparently even more of a fan of Tom Ellis, so we talked a little about Lucifer. I only know she has kids because I explained to her I have difficulty with eye contact due to my autism and she said her kids have it as well, so that was in a way nice. I love how we could talk about this whole thing, meeting celebrities etc in such a mature way. I guess we’re both too old for fangirling hahaha. We were really just vibing honestly??? 

We moved on a little bit, because someone asked if Colin did selfies and he said yes. I overheard that they are paid though, so we went to peek how expensive they were. We also saw a MASSIVE line, like... holy shit... but we went for it. Fuck money. Let’s just spend another 50 euros on this guy rofl. We both were hesitant but I was like ‘if you are doing it, then me too’ so we went in line ahaha. To be fair, I do actually like the selfie the most, since it has a different vibe. I felt a little rushed due to anxiety so it did blur a little, and I don’t have the best camera, but... it’s nice.

I suck at taking selfies sooo much hahaha! And my zipper was being funny! I still really like this picture though, and it was near the end of the event. Why the fuck did I not take the photo sideways? Ugh, who cares, I got my super expensive selfie. I remember my thumb awkwardly hovering over the button as for a second I forgot how photos work. I am sure if I saw in-time it was blurry he woulda been like “oh we can try again” or something, but honestly, I’ve had my fill of nerves. If I had it sideways you would have been able to see he had his arm around me hehe. 😳 I just error’d and left my arm hanging because I dunno, there was a no touch policy earlier, what do I do!! Either way, all that matters is that I know. At least without the flash on I look less awkward in my opinion. The size is wrong to make it my wallpaper on the phone though, grrr.

I am also super thankful I managed to hide my psoriasis on my eyebrow; my meds made it act up of course at the worst time possible, close to Comic Con where I have expensive photos to take. Or well... at that time I thought it was one photo. I can’t help myself man. I will probably never see him again! And I haven’t been to a Comic Con in two years!

I also made a silly edit.

Cuz it is what it is. I did that on the train to distract myself from having an annoying drunk man next to me.

When I left I actually felt so incredibly sad. I was sad i was over, instead of happy that it happened. I have mixed feelings. I am glad and I am sad. I did treat myself to a bubble tea before taking off though.

I dunno why it says “Tea Guys Amsterdam” if I visited them in Utrecht, but it is what it is. It was a milk tea with lychee bobas. Very nice. 

I wanted to close it off with that. When I receive the photo of our Meet & Greet (group picture) I will add it. Lowkey sad I did not dare ask if he did hugs as he did hug someone during the Q&A. There was a no touch policy for the photos, sooo...

I am really glad I got a lift home instead of waiting on the bus in the cold, was fun talking to that friend again. I just told them about the proposal I saw on day one. I really liked witnessing that.

So yeah, sorry that this post is basically just Colin O’Donoghue, but honestly... that was for me the main thing. Having been mostly alone this time simply meant I could not take photos with cosplays. I still had great fun and I am glad I can leave all those nerves and anxiety behind me, at least the ones that related to meeting him. I can still think of questions I would have liked to ask in hindsight (as you do...) but yeh, too late now. He really made my weekend. It is so surreal to actually see him in real life and future me will thank me for all the photos since I probably have aphantasia, but that is a subject I’d rather talk about in private. 

I had a really good weekend, even if I was so nauseous on the first day.
