i've submitted/seen plenty of dsaf characters in other tournaments but never dee. which is sad. she deserves some recognition. the picture linked is her before her death as i think it's important to remember her as a little girl and not just as the puppet.  [additional propaganda 1]

Kirinda

Kirinda is a "space-time transmitting machine" in the shape of a giant kirin. His job is to take the main characters to Novel Worlds (worlds that contain every story, myth, or legend ever created by humans) so that they can figure out what's corrupting them, and then he comes in at the end of the episode to clean up by purifying the monster responsible. However, he is no ordinary giant robot. He is sentient and speaks to the titular Rangers (with the world's most hokey and out of date Kansai/Southern accent to boot) through a camera shaped like an eye, and is often the one explaining the story of the world the characters are going to visit, as well as choosing which characters are going by the way of a roulette... which may or may not be complete bullshit. You see, while his role is incredibly important, he is very irresponsible and is constantly just dropping the characters off in a haphazard, dangerous manner without finishing explanations, screwing around with the roulette just to see what will happen, teasing the other characters (or subjecting them to horrible puns) and generally being incredibly vague and unhelpful beyond the bare minimum job requirements. At the end of the day though, he does really like his job (so much that he gets very salty if his screen time is threatened), and when push comes to shove, will go above and beyond to make sure everybody is safe. Wait a goddamn minute

So apparently, there is a 1934 movie adaptation of PUF/Pál uctai fiúk/The Paul Street Boys named "No greater glory" but apparently nobody in the PUF talks about this movie?? Or even knows that it exists in the first place?!

OK, so, is there anyone in the PUF fanbase who has seen the 1934 movie? If yes, may I ask you about thoughts about this movie?

hello! i didn't planned on posting here tbh but i kinda changed my mind so why not do an introduction! Even though i don't really know how Tumblr works i still wanna join communities and enjoy the content here as i was doing before 🫶

Opinions on Geréb?

Favourite ship? (And least favourite ship?)

Do you prefer the book, the movie or the musical?

And lastly do you have any fanfic recommandations?

Hi friend, it is really nice to meet you! Thank you for the questions, you made me smile today :)

Opinions on Geréb: He is my favourite character! There's something about him that makes me wanna hug him. I know that most people don't really think this way, but he deserved that second chance what he got in the book.

Fav & least fav ship: I have a lot of favourite ships (don't expect me to pick one), but the absolute best are Cselnakos, Bokacsek and Bolnay. I'm not saying that I hate them, but I don't like BokÁts and Nemecsek/Id. Pásztor.

Book, movie or musical: The songs in the musical are incerdible, and the kids in the movie are so adorable! But I like the book because they forgive Geréb, and that scene with the Gittegylet is amazing (why didn't they put the whole in the movie?!). So maybe I prefer the book a little more than the other productions.

Fanfic recommendations: Well, I have read a lot of puf fanfics lately, these are my favourites:

Történetek a Pál utcából by io_callisto_europa – these are mostly short stories, but I loved each of them, I don't get why are these so underrated. The author writes wonderfully, all their works belong in a bookstore.

Az elajándékozott üveggolyó by io_callisto_europa – again, genius work. Probably my favourite.

O a Balaton by papuskam – this one's very funny, I laughed so hard I cried. Lots of Bokacsek.

Pál utcai fiúk - kimaradt jelent by FoxWithWings – TW: you might die because of cuteness.

These are my favourites, but I have a Wattpad reading list full of good PUF stories, you can take a look at it if you've got some time :)

HOT TAKE

OK, so I know that this is going to piss off fans from both the Paul Street Boys and The Outsiders fandoms, but honestly, I don't care.

The Paul Street Boys/Pál utcai fiúk and The Outiders are way more similar than people think they are.

1.) They focus on young teenage boys (obviously..)

2.) The protagonist(s) live in poverty (Nemescek is from a poor family, the greasers such as the Curtis brothers come from poor families and poor neighbourhoods)

3.) The boys are seperated into two groups (The Paul Street Boys and The Red Shirts, The Greasers and The Socs respectively)

4.) The protagonist(s) die(s) (Nemescek dies at the end of the book, Dallas and Johnny die during the book)

5.) There is a final confrontation/battle between the two groups, which is shown at the novel (The Paul Street Boys vs the Red Shirts, The Greasers vs The Socs)

6.) The book starts casually and the groups are introduced from the get go, as well, the introduction of the opposite group starts by some members of the group doing morally questionable stuff (The Pásztor brothers of the Red Shirts steal from Nemescek, the Socs beat up Johnny) (both have happened in the past)

7.) Some people from the protagonist group do morally questionable things (The Putty Club bullying Nemescek, Johnny accidentally killing Bobby, a Soc)

8.) One of the characters either dropped from school or got expelled from school (Sodapop dropped from school, Feri Ats got expelled from school,(that is more of a rumor but still...))

9.) One of the characters has a bad reputation (Dallas Winston, Feri Ats)

10.) There is a lack of adult and female characters in the novels (they don't add anything much to the plot)

11.) The boys are described to be good looking (Sodapop and Ponyboy, Feri Ats and Csele)

12.) Both books are set in a historical period (1960s USA, 1880s Austro-Hungary, Hungary)

13.) Both books were published in historical periods (1960s, 1900s)

14.) The opposite team treats the protagonist team like trash (The Socs treat the Greasers like crap, The Redshirts have zero respect for the Paul Street Boys, expect for Nemescek, which their Ats, respect a LOT)

15.) Both books have Ho Yay (homoerotic/homoromantic subtext) (Johnny/Dallas, Johnny/Ponyboy, Ponyboy/Dallas, Boka/Nemescek, Feri Ats/Nemescek, Boka/Gereb I guess)

16.) The members of the opposite group drown one of the protagonists (Bob drowning Ponyboy, The Pátszor brothers drowning Nemescek)

17.) Both protagonists remember horrible things done to them in the past (see point 6)

18.) There is a cute precious character who looks up to an older boy, wants their love and die at the end (see point d, Nemescek, Johnny))

19.) Said older boy loves them, protects them from harm and mourns them a lot when they die (Boka with Nemescek, Dallas Winston with Johnny Cade)

20.) One of the protagonists has blonde hair, blue eyes and dies at the end (Nemescek, Dallas Winston)

And this is probably tip of the iceberg. If anyone has read both books and has noticed other similarities between the two books that aren't listed, you're more than welcome to add them.
