I have the controversial opinion that maybe, just maybe we stop wanting to go after people with pitchforks for getting characters wrong and not reading the comics inviting them to easy and accessible ways of and making our own content with comic accurate representation
people might feel less anxious about starting comics and misinformation won't spread as easily

Alright fellas I deleted all my posts about the Matter (tm) because I don't want it to be adressed anymore or having people dig up into my blog. I genuinely want my blog to be a safe and positive place, and it was starting to bring me a lot of uncomfort and unnecessary stress. Especially when I keep receiving anon asks of people assuming or making me say things I haven't said. I don't want to try to justify or explain myself more and more only to have the feeling I'm digging my grave deeper.
So, I would like to say some last things:
- I'm sincerely sorry if I said anything that was harmful. I was trying to point out that some people were trying to treat queer couples like a straight couple by using trans headcanon as a justification. It did not, and never meant that everyone who have a trans headcanon on a character is doing this, and even less that I will see everyone with these headcanons as doing it. I wish for accurate representation and respect.
- I am genuinely confused whereas I'm being in the wrong or the right. I seriously mean no harm, and sincerely believe I'm thinking the right thing. So if I said something wrong, please adress it to me, without assumption or hate. I'm willing to listen to everyone's opinion and change my views. But please, I'd rather bring this up in DMs, if I'm wrong, I don't want to say shit and fuck up publicly, I hope you understand.
- I am welcome to every trans headcanon, even if I don't share it, because I believe everyone can see a character the way they wish. It doesn't matter the reason behind, as long as it's not to fetishize the character, which is wrong. Trans people are just like any other humans, with feelings and rights. That they are characters do not mean you can treat them as objects. It will make many, myself included, insulted and uncomfortable.
In conclusion, do whatever the hell you want to do as long as it's not harmful or sharing misinformation. Don't let a random on internet (me) tell you how to live your life. I seriously couldn't care less. Life's short, be crazy, go feral, I don't know, peace and love on planet earth, just treat others equally. except transphobes, you can always punch a transphobe in the face, it's never morally wrong

Ight, I'm starving of content, also, why not something for you to change up your spice (you don't have to if you don't wanna btw); "Your such a dork" "But you like hanging out with this dork" In a cinema setting probably – (Micheal + Akira; these two deserve more ngl) Platonic or Romantic, up to you!
"That was so—cool!" Michael yells as soon as they step out of the theater. "Like the way he—did you see it?"
"Yes, I saw it," Akira replies, fondly rolling her eyes. "I was in the theater with you the whole time, believe it or not." Not that Michael even seemed to notice, with how focused he was on the actual movie the whole time. Seriously? He invites Akira out to an anime movie, and then ignores her the whole time?
But he's smiling—like, a huge smile, grinning wide—and he turns to Akira. "Thank you for coming with me!" He's leaning down a little, and his face is actually kind of close to hers, and—oh no. She's blushing, isn't she? She's definitely blushing.
"I, uh ..."
Come on, Akira! she tells herself. This is your chance. Ask him on a date! Ask him if this already was a date. Ask him if he even likes you? Just—say something!
"You're such a dork!" Akira blurts, stepping back and turning away, hiding her face in both her hands.
Oh no. That was definitely not the correct way to ask the cute boy on a date.
Michael laughs, though, and Akira manages to prevent her heart from dropping all the way down to the center of the Earth. It stops somewhere around the planet's lower mantle, maybe.
"But you like hanging out with this dork," Michael replies smoothly. When Akira turns back to face him again, he has both of his hands laced behind his head, cool and casual. Ugh.
"Michael—!" Akira starts, then cuts herself off. Why is this so hard? "Is that ... all that this was?"
Michael blinks. "Is what all that what was?"
"This—movie—thing. With me. We were hanging out?"
"... Yeah?" Michael drops his arms to his side, tilting his head.
"Of course!" Akira groans, throwing her hands up into the air and spinning on her heel. Rest in peace, heart, now truly buried at the center of the Earth. "Of course. I should have known."
"Known what? Akira, what's wrong?" Michael places a gentle hand on her shoulder, guiding her back to face him. "You can talk to me."
"I was ..." She sighs, shaking her head. "I was hoping this was a date. Or—that there could be dates in the future, if it wasn't. Between you and me, I mean. But ... I don't want to ruin things between us, either? If you want to be friends, I'd rather have that than ... nothing."
The two of them stare at each other for a second.
This is awful. This is torture. This is literal hell, she knows it. Nothing could be worse than this.
"Akira—"
"I'm sorry," she interrupts at a mumble, looking down at her feet.
"No, Akira—"
"I get it if you don't want to—anything."
"That's not—Akira—"
"Please don't hate me!"
"Akira!"
"What?" She looks up, glaring at Michael now. This sucks! This sucks. Everything sucks.
"... We’re not already dating?" Michael asks blankly.
"We ... what?"
"Like, these last few—we're not—?"
"You thought—"
"I mean, I already told Mom and Dad—"
"Max and Jessica think we're—?"
"Akira, I thought we were dating!"
"Oh my god." Akira laughs, because what else is she going to do in this situation? "You never asked me out!"
"We've been dating for weeks!" Michael's voice breaks a little. “I thought?”
Akira shakes her head. "We've been—hanging out? For weeks? There's a difference."
"Well, what am I supposed to do? Just ask you to be my girlfriend?"
"Uh—yes?"
Michael groans. "Okay! Fine!" He gets down on one knee, and Akira squeaks.
"Not like—!"
"Akira Ibe," Michael says, and he takes Akira's hand.
"Not the full name," Akira whines.
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes! Now—stand up, please! Oh my god."
Michael stands, a smug grin on his face now. "There. Done."
"You are the absolute worst." Akira snatches her hand away from him. "I hate you."
"But you love hating me," Michael teases. "Girlfriend."
"Almost as much as I hate loving you," Akira grumbles under her breath.
"What did you just say?"
"Nothing!"

So. Madison Russell. Godzilla vs Kong. Welcome to my ted talk.
From a writing perspective, they totally wasted her character. She, Josh, and Bernie were almost exclusively used just as a method of showing the audience what was happening "behind the scenes" at Apex. Pouring the whiskey on the computer was about the only thing of note they did, and even that didn't do much. Mechagodzilla was only slightly hindered by it, and if they'd just written Kong and Godzilla differently in the fight scene, they could have skipped the whiskey part entirely. They could have done so much with having people "on the inside" but Monarch as a greater organization barely had any presence at all, which negated the need to have people on the inside.
Maddie's steadfast insistence that Godzilla wasn't a bad guy at the beginning had so much potential, but it became the conspiracy thing instead. It felt less like she wanted to prove Godzilla wasn't turning against humans, and more like she and her new conspiracy friend wanted to crack open a shady organization, which was frustrating. If they wanted to depict her as someone who was forced to become competent at a young age, which was part of the serious, intense vibe I got from her, instead of the inexplicable personality shift, they should have showed her doing something to help. Getting in contact with her dad/Monarch, giving them evidence to begin a city wide evacuation outside the Apex Hong Kong HQ, messing something up or making it harder for the Apex people to get Mechagodzilla up and running—just, anything.
The fact is, we had Maddie being very proactive in KotM. Stealing the ORCA was the game changer. Instead of taking that to the next level in GvK and giving her an opportunity to continue that aspect of her character—that is, being someone who refuses to sit by when she can do something to help, even if it’s dangerous—they rendered her obsolete.
The movie wouldn't have significantly changed if you took her character out. If Bernie went by himself and ended up in Hong Kong, nothing would have changed, because Maddie didn't do anything of personal importance. She went from being an active character in KotM to being a passive one here, which are a pet peeve of mine. If you saw my post about what I liked and didn’t like about Godzilla (2014), that might sound very familiar.
It would also have made so much more sense if she developed a love for studying Titans instead of focusing on conspiracy theories. Plot-wise, it would have given her claim to her dad that Godzilla was being provoked more credence, and could’ve opened an interesting dialogue between them to reinforce that she knows what she’s talking about. Monarch was obviously still a big part of their lives, given that Mark had rejoined, so it would’ve been the perfect opportunity for Maddie to pursue a Titan-related future.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I loved Jia, and wouldn’t want to take her out of the movie or even diminish her presence in it. In fact, I think they should have focused on Jia, and only on Jia.
Hear me out: Godzilla vs Kong should’ve been split in two. A Part 1 and Part 2 situation.
For Part 1, we keep a lot of the GvK canon, especially the Kong-centric stuff. Include even more scenes showing us that he’s protective of Jia, don’t just have Dr. Andrews say that he is. Have him defend her from something dangerous, maybe even from some humans. Include their backstory, how he saved her during the storm. And start it even earlier, before Godzilla attacks Apex the first time. Keep the whole Hollow Earth plot, keep the fight scene in the ocean, keep the discovery of the temple and the axe.
And on the Godzilla side of things, start earlier on that as well. Keep the other Titans in, have humanity tentatively believing that a time of great peace is upon them. Their mere presence is restoring the planet. There was an emphasis of nature, particularly in relation to the Titans, in KotM that I really think they should have included more of in GvK to better tie the two movies together, if only they hadn’t swept all the other Titans under the rug. They wanted a movie about a fight, not about the Titans. So, undo that. Show us a little of what Mark does, do a sweep of the other KotM cast (cameos at the very least) to show how they and Monarch are working to uphold that peace post-Boston. I’d also have loved to see Boston itself, too, five years later.
Instead of giving us a Generic High School scene, show Maddie learning about the Titans alongside the experts. Bring back the wonder and amazement she had when she saw Mothra for the first time, when she reached out and touched her. She’s second generation Monarch, make that mean something. When Maddie took the ORCA to Boston, she had a conviction. She couldn’t not have. She was there in part to lure Ghidorah in, but I can’t even pretend to believe her plan ended with that. She knew Godzilla would come.
That sort of belief is hard to kill, and if death via Ghidorah wasn’t enough to scare her off, no way anything else in those five years afterwards did. Her belief that Godzilla is good survived to GvK, and should’ve been a main focal point of her character. Godzilla attacks Apex—she and every other Monarch person who has spent years studying the Titans knows something is up.
Keep Mark’s character development regarding his opinions on Godzilla. He believes Maddie when she says something has to be wrong, not just because he trusts his daughter, but because he looked into Godzilla’s eyes and saw more than just an animal.
They’re in Part 1 only minimally, just to establish their presence and how they feel about Godzilla destroying Apex. The focus is clearly on Jia and Kong’s side of events.
Sorry, but I’m leaving Josh out and seriously dialing back Bernie’s role. Instead, the character we follow inside Apex is Ren Serizawa. We see his motivations, his ambitions, and he becomes a character with more than just a few lines. Does he resent Godzilla? Or does he resent his father, too? Serizawa’s sacrifice was willing, after all. He was no accidental casualty.
Part 1 ends in the Hollow Earth, with Ghidorah taking control of Mechagodzilla on the surface. Alter the timeline just enough so that Godzilla has only just arrived to Hong Kong, and Kong’s still in the Hollow Earth. The final scene is Mechagodzilla emerging into the city as the sun rises. The post-credits scene is our KotM cast in the Argo, location unknown, watching a screen with Mechagodzilla on it.
Part 2 begins with a reveal: Ren Serizawa isn’t dead.
Backtrack. This part focuses more on the Godzilla side, and Monarch. It’ll have flashback scenes from the five years between KotM and now, showing exactly why Monarch as a whole firmly believes Godzilla is reacting to something instead of being anti-human all of a sudden. The Titans are not inherently malicious; destruction is a side effect of their size, no more, no less. He earned his title of King in KotM—make it mean more than just trying to make Kong “bow.” Make him a protector, a guardian. He’s nature’s balance. By definition, he must protect humans as well.
What Monarch needs to figure out is this: what is he trying to protect them from?
They investigate Apex in search of the answer, but knowing from past experience the sort of things Godzilla gets proactive about—the MUTOs, Ghidorah—Monarch mobilizes. They prepare for another fight, at Mark’s instructions. He witnessed both San Francisco and Boston firsthand, even if the former was from a civilian standpoint.
Godzilla has more hunt scenes. He targets a second Apex lab after his ocean fight with Kong, telling Monarch that they’re on the right track.
Maddie, being a minor and not dragged into the thick of things (yet), has to stay home. Remembering the podcast she sometimes listened to, when the topic was focused on the Titans, she tracks Bernie down, and he tells her about what he saw: the eye.
The two of them go to the ruined Apex building and discover the eye is gone before getting caught. With Monarch currently breathing down their necks, they recognize Maddie to be Mark’s daughter and take her to Hong Kong. Sorry, Bernie, but that’s mostly as far as you’re involved. Timeline-wise, this is roughly when Kong puts the axe in the temple floor and Godzilla blasts a hole to the center of the earth. Monarch is following Godzilla, but they’re behind a bit thanks to the tunnel shortcuts. They’re still unaware that Maddie has been kidnapped and is en route to Hong Kong.
This is also when Mechagodzilla gains a life of its own. Walter Simmons is killed and Ren Serizawa becomes trapped in the link to Mechagodzilla, serving as the bridge between the robot and Ghidorah’s mind. Ghidorah is essentially controlling MG by controlling Ren, who is controlling MG. Make sense? He’s the puppeteer’s puppeteer.
We reverse some things. Godzilla fights MG first, gets beat around but not as much as in GvK because he isn’t fresh out of a different fight. Kong returns to the surface through the tunnel Godzilla created, having carried the one remaining HEAV out himself, because Nathan Lind has never flown one before and doesn’t know how they work. Kong wants to protect Jia, and Ilene Andrews and Nathan Lind are very lucky that Jia likes them.
Mechagodzilla sees Kong and takes off, and Kong decides now would be a great time to fight Godzilla, who’s having a pretty bad day. Monarch arrives, and half of them split off to follow MG while the rest stay to try and deescalate the situation. Other than Godzilla faring slightly less well, the fight goes mostly the same as in the movie, except for one big difference: one of the Monarch crafts pick up Jia and Co, and she’s able to get Kong’s attention from the back of an Osprey well enough to tell him to stop fighting. There’s a bigger threat out there, and Godzilla definitely needs to be okay enough to fight it. Either they work together, or they reschedule.
She’s very stern about it, and though no one’s really sure what the two Titans decide on, they stop fighting. They leave together to go after Mechagodzilla, who is currently being slowed down by Mothra, because she deserves to be in this movie. The other Titans basically hinder Mechagodzilla as much as possible as it rampages, telling Godzilla where it is. Monarch finally figures out that it’s heading for the nearest entrance to the Hollow Earth, right around when they also figure out that Ghidorah is involved. With Dr. Andrews and Nathan Lind’s input, they theorize it intends to take more of the power source down there to further strengthen it.
They do their best to clear the cities in its path, evacuating as many people as possible. It’s all they can do. As in the past, they must trust Godzilla to do the heavy lifting. Around the same time, an assistant tells Mark that some guy named Bernie called and is asking for him. This is how he finds out Maddie was taken to Apex’s Hong Kong location.
Meanwhile, the Apex guards and Maddie finally arrive to find the facility abandoned and damaged, MG gone, and Simmons dead. The guards more or less split, leaving her there alone. Maddie, being Maddie, goes deeper until she finally discovers Ghidorah’s skull and Ren Serizawa inside, trapped in his own head with Ghidorah. It’s killing him.
He’s aware enough to have a conversation with her. They argue about the Titans. He wants Godzilla destroyed out of anger over his father’s preference for Titans, rather than his own son.
(“You’re not the only one with ghosts!” she yells at him. “You’re not the only one who resents a parent for putting Titans ahead of you when you needed them!” He chokes out, “I do not resent my father—” “Coulda fooled me. Why else would you be spitting on his sacrifice like this? Who are you trying to help, huh? All the other kids out there who are losing their moms and dads because you let Ghidorah out? Sorry, mister, but the last time someone did that, your dad paid the price.”)
Ren is getting worse. He’s going to die if he stays in the link much longer, but he can’t disconnect. Maddie, looking around, gets to work on something. The camera slowly pans around to show that there’s a second pilot seat, back-to-back with Ren’s. It would allow for seamless switching between pilots without MG ever not having someone at the controls.
Even with the other Titans’ help, Godzilla and Kong are unable to stop MG from going through the tunnel and into the Hollow Earth. Monarch is unable to follow, because of the gravity issue. They’re both tired from the journey and their fight, especially Godzilla. This is their last chance. If Mechagodzilla reaches the power source, it’s all over.
The fight doesn’t go in their favor. They’re both bad at working together, so their attacks are uncoordinated at best, actively hindering each other at worst. Kong gets flung off a mountain and MG pins Godzilla. Even thought he caught himself, Kong isn’t going to make it up in time to help him.
Maddie puts on an identical pilot setup, and with Ren’s instructions, switches the link over to herself, freeing Ren. He collapses forward, immediately falling unconscious from the release of the strain. Fighting past the pain and overwhelming presence suddenly in her head, Maddie does what she does best: she causes Ghidorah problems.
She screams, and it echoes like a roar through his skull.
In the Hollow Earth, Mechagodzilla stumbles.
It’s the beginning of the end. She can’t control it or even really stop Ghidorah, but she gets in his way as much as possible, giving Godzilla and Kong the edge they need to finally get their act together and use some teamwork to take Mechagodzilla down. They destroy it and return to the surface before parting on amicable terms.
After too long, Mark arrives at Apex with a whole team of people. Ren Serizawa is found comatose but alive, and he’s quickly removed for medical attention. Though Maddie’s also alive, there’s something else clearly wrong. She’s still wired into the piloting gear, stiff and unseeing, as if she’s frozen. Her eyes are open but distant, pupils virtually gone from how constricted they are, and her jaw hangs open slightly. Despite how tense her body is, she’s limp. Nothing they do wakes her up, even after getting her out of the skull.
They wheel her out on a gurney to where a handful of Ospreys landed, but as they leave the building and step out onto the roof, they find Godzilla has returned. He watches them, and he’s exactly as aware as Mark remembers.
(“She tried to help you,” Mark calls out to him. No one knows exactly what happened in the Hollow Earth, during the fight, but the scene in Ghidorah’s skull was telling. “No, she—she did help you!” For the second time in her life, Maddie put herself in Ghidorah’s path and, ultimately, won. Only this time, her victory came with a price.)
Godzilla snorts before leaning over the roof’s railing, moving toward the gurney. The humans all back away, even Mark, though he doesn’t go far. Spines humming, eyes flaring blue, Godzilla rumbles deeply.
On the gurney, Maddie stirs.
Later, much later, after Maddie and Jia have met—heaven help everyone else, honestly—they sit together on the edge of a pier over the ocean, Jia leaning comfortably against Maddie. It’s quiet. They’re alone, watching the sunset. A heavy footfall behind them, the feel of the vibration trembling through the wood, makes them turn around. Half concealed in the brush at the edge of the island’s foliage, Kong stands, facing them.
They both wave before standing. They sign goodbye to each other, then part ways. As Maddie walks away to a waiting Osprey, we see behind her as Kong crouches to allow Jia to climb into his palm before vanishing into the forest.
The Osprey takes off over the calm ocean. It has a different design than most, with a large door set in the side instead of at the back, more like an ordinary helicopter. It’s open as they go, Maddie secure inside as she stares out. A smile spreads across her face as jagged spines slowly breach the ocean’s surface, easily keeping pace with the Osprey, which lowers to be closer to the water.
For just a moment, in the fading light, Maddie’s eyes almost shine blue. The screen goes black to the sound of Godzilla’s roar.

The power of a true god
Tumblr media
Summary: Is just black girl magic working at the fullest
Prologue
There was another member of the Eternals, Apollonia daughter of Arishem, in Greece they called her Apollo the god of the sun, in different parts of the world she had different named. She had learned so many things from mortals, such as partying, love of music and the great arts but she had learned how to love and that is why she was against the destruction of the planet. For centuries she tried to convince the other Eternals to be patient, Ikaris thought her judgment was tainted.
"I bet you're sleeping with a mortal" he tried to tease her but she ignored him, she had fade that there was still a percentage of humans and that is why she gave them the gift of science and medicine.
"You cannot give your knowledge to these mortals"
" Why not?
"They'll use it to hurt each other" obviously Sprite would defend Ikaris
"Am I at least doing something?"
"Yeah sure." Druig chuckled
"At least I don't oblige the oppressed to love the oppressor and have children"
"At least they are at peace"
"Of course peace, without the right to judge and think with the same brain"
The group separated normally, but Apollonia separated completely no one knew, where she was if she was on earth, if she was alive or dead with the disappearance of the deviants.
Ikaris had become praranoic about the disappearance of the Eternal then decided to go to the extreme, Ikaris accused Apollonia of betrayal, told the group and Arishem that the woman was gathering sorcerers and aliens to attack the Prime Celestial. And so the woman was summoned she was banished by Olimpya and she was branded on her back with the sun sign.
Subsequently she disappeared and did not show up until the new millennium, during the great lapse of time she went to Wakanda where she helped the kingdom to expand technologically more, she was not at the level she was not Phaustus but still had rather advanced scientific knowledge, there she met the love of her life Anzi Mammdu one of the most powerful sorcerer of the Kindom.
They didn't get along very well the man came from the border tribe they were rather skeptical to let a stranger who was very powerful enter the kingdom
Even if Anzi didn't trust her, she tried to help the community by ignoring the little insults that the border tribe gave her, but she was grateful to the people for accepting her, she was a science teacher at Birnin Zana and sometimes trained the Dora Milaje.
"Look who's there, Sunny, are you taking a stroll around the royal palace?" In fact she said hello, Sunny was the little nickname he had given her to annoy her but she found it quite adorable.
"I'm helping the Doras but I know they don't need me, I know you'll say Wakanda doesn't need me either"
"What makes you think I would have said that?" he asked seriously
"You come from the border tribe, you hate me," she said as she walked down the hall and the man followed beside her.
"You are an almost omnipotent person, we do not even know which part of the universe you come from"
"And I know this I understand the fear of the unknown, I practically sneaked in here, but I have no malicious intention" the man was silent to hear the celestial talk about how much he loved Wakanda and that he would also have sacrificed his life.
"Would you sacrifice your immortality for a kingdom that not even the world knows about its existence?" he laughed, he was shocked he thought the woman was haughty and overconfident because of her existence.
"Yes, it's the most human thing I would do, to sacrifice myself for the people and the place I love"
"Would you also protect the people who wronged you and who insulted you?" they both knew the question was aimed at him.
"I would also protect people who have wronged me and who have insulted me"
"Well you sound just like a real Wakandian" the woman burst out laughing.
"Thank you, I'm really honored that a true Wakandian thinks I'm a true Wakandian"
Time passed and Apollonia was fully integrated into the kingdom, even the border tribe accepted her after Anzi spoke to them. A friendship had grown between them and there was also attraction, but neither part took the first step.
The Clestial had finished her lessons it was lunch break, she was walking through the gardens of the palace.
"Here you are I was looking for you" Anzi he reached her
"Hey, is there a problem?" she asked while eating an apple, he sat down next to her.
"No I just wanted to see you," he confessed
"Oh ok" she tried to hide her reaction.
"Anyway I wanted to apologize for all the things my tribe and I have said about you"
"You've already apologized like a million times, number one I'm not angry and two I understand how it feels not to be accepted"
"When were you with the Eternals?"
"Yes, some of them say that the Earth must be destroyed and others are confused in silence I am the only one who wants to defend this planet, that is, let's look around us, there are innocent children running and playing. We don't know what they will bring to Wakanda or to the rest of the world just take a leap of faith "she realized that the man was looking at her smiling.
"What did I talk too much? I got carried away" she was embarrassed she tried to hide her face with her afro.
"Truly I agree with you, we must all try to take a leap of faith and the most human thing that can be done," he said as he leaned forward and brushed her hair away from her face.
"But do you know what the most human thing I do is?" he said, stroking the woman's lips.
"Loving you" he confessed, at that point they were face to face, silently looking at each other.
"So are we going to kiss or keep looking at each other?" he asked, Apollonia was not used to having romantic relationships.
"Yes," she whispered, their lips touching for a small moment
"For someone who has lived for millennia doesn't know how to kiss," he joked
"Hey, I have to go back to school anyway, let's meet later, okay?"
"Okay" she got up and started walking, stopped and walked back and gave the man another kiss that lasted longer.
" See you later"
"See you later Sunny" the woman ran to the building leaving him groggy with a toothy smile.
Here I am with the prologue of the series, I thought u the god of the sun must be a melanated person so tadah, please to all the greeks who are reading this, I'm not trying to erase your culture or "blackwash" anything I thought it would be cool. If you have questions ask me whenever you want, please have patience with grammatical error and tell me. I forgot what's is your opinion of Druig obbligating Aztec to be with Conquistadors (because in the next chapter I kanda want to throw shade at him), I really want to know your opinion.
Enjoy

I return from the dead with a fic that isn't even for the Naruto fandom and I don't really have an explanation for myself.
Pairing: SamBucky Word count: 2317 Fandom: MCU Summary: Visiting Steve was always strange now that the guy was old and retired. Still, of all the things Sam expected out of today, witnessing a prime example of gay panic from the co-worker that's been mysteriously avoiding him was not one of them.
Follow the link or read it under the cut!
KO-FI and commission info under the header!
Honestly, the fact that Steve's house smelled like prunes was probably one of the funniest things that Sam had ever heard in his life. More than anything he would have loved to go back in time, to the days of reading about glorified heroes in history textbooks, and tell his fifteen year old self that Captain America, Steve Rogers, retired in a house that smelled like prunes. God, his best friend just had to throw himself in to being old the way he threw himself in to everything else.
"Is there a special reason for you visiting?" Steve's voice was more tremulous these days, less steady but no less warm. Just hearing him again after the shameful amount of weeks it had been since his last visit made Sam grin.
"Nah, just thought I'd pop in and see if you'd expired yet. Your birthday's coming up. Gonna be, what, three hundred? A thousand?"
Steve narrowed his eyes but there was fondness in them so it wasn't very scary even if he could probably still tackle Sam across the room if he wanted to. At this point it would hurt him too but he could do it. "You, young man, are-"
He looked chagrined at himself when Sam cut him off with a laugh.
"You shitting me? Did you really just call me young man? See if I ever let you live that down."
His friend grumbled but accepted the teasing as his due. That was just what he got for going back in time and doubling down on being so much older than his own best friends.
Since it had indeed been a little too long after they last saw each other there was quite a bit of catching up for them to do. Over cool glasses of sweet tea and a plate of cookies the two of them spent a pleasant couple of hours shooting the shit until Sam could almost forget the years that stretched between them now. It was jarring, sometimes, looking away from those clear blue eyes to realize all over again just how many wrinkles they were set in. Sometimes he hated it. Other times he could only smile to know that at least one of their ragtag bunch had found the peace they were looking for.
Eventually all that sweet tea went right to his bladder and Sam excused himself to use the bathroom. When he returned he took in the sight of his friend all snug under one of the blankets his late wife had knit and sighed, feeling maudlin suddenly for no good reason.
"I should probably get out of your hair," he said. "Let you get in your afternoon nap or whatever. No, stay there man, I'll clean up." His smile was easy as he snagged the dishes from their grazing and hauled it all over to the kitchen.
"You sure?" Steve's voice floated after him. "Nothing else you want to get off your chest?"
"Huh?"
Sam frowned at the cups he'd just placed in the sink, running back through his mind. They'd talked about pretty much everything he could think of.
"You didn't mention Buck once, you know. I thought the two of you were friends now."
"Ah. Yeah. So did I." The corners of his mouth twisted with a little bitterness, a little confusion. After everything they'd been through and the number of times Bucky had accepted his invitations down to Delacroix he'd thought they were well past the point of calling themselves friends. Maybe he himself felt something a little more than that but he knew better than to push.
That was probably why Bucky's sudden radio silence hurt so much though.
"Trouble in paradise?" Steve called from the other room and Sam snorted.
“Shit, I don’t know. One minute we’re fine and the next he just up and disappears on me again. I may or may not have checked a bunch of obituaries for your name just in case because I have no idea what I might have done to piss him off.” Sam pursed his lips. He’s already gone over all this with Sarah a half dozen times and in all the recounts he’d done of their last couple missions he still couldn’t find any particularly bad moment between him and his best friend. Unfortunately the sweet tea he was glaring at didn’t have any answers either so he snatched the pitcher up and moved to put it in the fridge.
“Have you tried, oh I don’t know, asking him what’s wrong?”
“You think I didn’t try that?”
Steve’s hum drifted down the hallway with a distinct note of sass. “Neither one of you is very famous for your communication.”
“Excuse you, I was a counselor. A certified veteran’s counselor. Communicating with people was literally my job until your overly buff ass came running around all ‘on your left’ and ‘everyone I know is trying to kill me’.” Sam huffed as he snapped the fridge closed. “I damn well tried to talk to him but he’s not answering my texts or my calls. Short of breaking in to his apartment I don’t really know what else you want me to do.”
Without any other excuses to keep him in the kitchen Sam heaved a sigh, knowing he couldn’t dawdle any longer. He could only get to the door by going though the living room so his choices were either run away out the back, which he would never ever hear the end of, or go back in to the living room and face Steve with his stupidly wise and knowing eyes. Seriously, let a guy live to almost two hundred and suddenly he thought he knew everything. Annoying was what it was.
He was only halfway down the hall when he heard the front door open. Sam very carefully swallowed down the jibe he’d just been about to deliver and hoped that meant what he thought it meant. Maybe Steve had finally gone vague after all and bailed in the middle of their conversation; he’d rather chase a crazy old coot down the street than talk about his feelings regarding one James Buchanan Barnes. Actually if he looked at it from the right angle then chasing an old coot down the street was pretty much his job description whenever he and his partner teamed up on missions. Sam was just glad they hadn’t been called in to one since this whole silent treatment had started because he wasn’t sure he wanted to know whether or not Bucky would still have his back even when the guy was mad at him over reasons unknown.
Two more steps and Sam froze in his tracks, eyes wide with disbelief. Bucky’s shoulders were hunched in to himself with something bridling on panic as he fit himself through the front door and kicked it shut behind himself, eyes wild and fixed on the ground between his feet, nervous energy pouring out of him in a way Sam hadn’t seen before. From his spot on the couch Steve watched his childhood friend let himself in with serene indifference.
“Didn’t know you’d be over today,” was all he said. Then he smiled benignly when Bucky let out a soft whine.
“Help,” Bucky pleaded. “I’m dying.”
Then Bucky slid down to his knees and face planted in the carpet, arms and legs splaying out wide. Steve hummed.
“You know,” he murmured, “no one ever believes me when I tell them you’re this dramatic.”
“Steve! I’m having a crisis!”
“I tell everyone you’re a drama queen and they just shake their heads at me.”
“This is important! You have to kill me, Steve. Or I’m gonna just- just-!” Bucky’s voice petered out with another extended whine muffled by the carpet that probably didn’t smell any better from that close up.
Crossing one leg over the other, Steve folded his hands in his lap with a great lack of concern for the ridiculous scene playing out before him. Sam remained frozen in the hallway, wondering if Bucky even realized he was there, but he got an answer to that almost faster than if he’d bothered to ask himself.
“What’s wrong, pal?”
“It’s Sam!” Bucky cried. His arms lifted up like wings to flail briefly before falling back to the floor in a boneless sprawl. “Please just crush my head or something. I can’t take this.”
“Ah, yes, I hear you’ve been avoiding him.”
Whatever kind of noise Bucky was trying to make, it came out sounding more like he was choking on carpet fumes. “Of course I’m avoiding him!”
“Now why on earth would you do that?”
“I want to stick my tongue in the gap between his teeth!” Bucky said, entirely unaware of the sparks that were suddenly running up Sam’s spine in the hallway. “Help me, Steve! I want to press my thumb in the little dimple on his back. He has a dimple on his back! Why!? Steve I want to hold his hand! What the fuck!”
Steve had both eyebrows up near his hairline and the most shit eating grin any human on the planet had ever worn when he turned his head to look at Sam. Frozen with his eyes on the figure currently panicking in to the floor, Sam paid him no attention. He was busy processing. After getting to know Bucky, inviting him to stay in Delacroix time and time again, the dramatics weren’t actually that much of a surprise. Obviously as they grew closer he’d gotten a number of glimpses in to who the real Bucky Barnes was under the grouchy veneer he presented to the world. Watching him starfish on the ground and whine wasn’t too far from what he’d already seen.
Hearing him say anything about his tongue in conjecture with Sam’s teeth, on the other hand, now that was a bit unexpected. More than a bit.
“I think Shuri called this ‘gay panic’ and honestly I’m in agreement,” Bucky went on mindlessly. “If I have to watch him go through one more workout and not grab his ass with both hands then I’m just going to rip both of them off. Who needs hands if I cannot grab Sam Wilson’s ass with them!?”
“You may be slightly exaggerating the situation, I feel,” Steve told him.
Bucky snorted. “I am not. I absolutely am not. Why is he so hot? And nice? I hate that. Except I don’t. Steve why is he so nice to me?”
“That might be a question you should ask him.”
“Oh yeah, sure, I’ve got lots of questions for him! Hey Sam, why are you nice to me? Hey Sam, can I lick your cheekbones? Hey Sam, how big is your cock?”
“Well. Not that I’ve ever thought to ask that myself but, alright. Go on, Sam, how big is it?”
Sam had just enough time to cross his arms over his chest and assume a very casual pose leaning against the wall beside him before Bucky’s head shot up off the carpet. If possible, his eyes were even more wild than before when he fixed them on Steve, full of the deepest betrayal. Then he very slowly dragged them sideways to see the man he’d just been panicking over. Sam gave him a very friendly smile.
“Depends on your frame of reference,” he admitted. “I’d say sizeable.”
“Nnnggggg.”
“Hi Buck.”
“Ggnnn.”
While Steve very poorly disguised a laugh behind one hand, Sam pushed off from the wall and sauntered further in to the living room. Bucky slammed his face back in to the carpet.
“Leave me here to die,” he pleaded in a very small voice. Sam tutted, reaching for the front door, only looking over his shoulder once he was halfway through it.
“Come on, Buck, can’t lick my cheekbones if you don’t get off the floor. It was a nice visit, Steve, but don’t be looking out your front curtains for a bit. I think I’ll let Bucky decide for himself what sizeable means.” He thanked god for the mercy of Steve’s house being situated out here so far from any other homes, surrounded on all sides by enough trees that you couldn’t see it from the road. A gorgeous little island of privacy. Sam was fairly sure he wasn’t the only one grateful for this, judging by the mad scrambling noises he could hear going on behind him.
Bucky’s voice garbled out something that sounded like ‘fuck you, thank you, bye forever’ and then Sam was listening to the slam of the front door barely a second before strong hands were wrapping themselves around his hips. He laughed even as Bucky’s face came in to view.
“Greatest assassin of several generations and you didn't notice my truck in the driveway?” he said.
“I may have been a bit distracted.” That was definitely a pout on Bucky’s lips.
“By being so hot for all of this”-Sam gestured vaguely down his own body-“that you literally ceased being able to function.”
He didn’t expect such easy agreement as the sheepish nod that followed his words. “Pretty much.”
Sam blinked slowly once, twice. For one long moment he considered teasing the man. Then he decided that their time was much better spent doing things they’d both obviously been wanting to do while assuming they would never get the chance.
“I was promised a tongue in my teeth. Are you gonna get to that any time soon or am I gonna sit here and pine some more for something I apparently could have had all along?”
Bucky keened piteously. Then he surged forward to follow through on his own promises and Sam really hoped that Steve had taken his words to heart about the curtains. The man was way too old to be seeing all the ways they were about to defile the side of this truck.

Maribat Winx Club AU Part 1
It was a beautiful day on the planet of Miracul
The planet Miracul was a beautiful planet full of magic and energy
The planet was home to the most powerful magical artifacts in all of magix (the magic dimension)
These artifacts were call the miraculous each held the ability to call powerful spirits to help the one who possess their artifact
The miraculous were guarded by the royal family generation after generation, it was their duty to make sure that the miraculous never fell into the wrong hands
It was to this family that Princess Marinette was born into with King Roland, Queen Clarisse, and the 5 year old Prince Jason
All loved the newest member of the family especially the young prince Jason
Jason: Is she going to be a fairy like you are mommy?
Clarisse: Yes dear, she most likely will. She'll be the fairy of energy like me
Roland: And if she's not a fairy you and I will teach her everything we know about fighting, right son?
Jason: Right dad! But until then I promise I'll protect her! Together we're going to be the best guardians of the miraculous yet! Right Marinette?
Marinette let out a giggle in response which Jason took as a yes
In the next months Jason was practically glued to his sister if not in lessons
He could always get her to stop crying and was always able to calm her down
The people also loved their prince and princess they knew that the future of Miracul was in good hands with those two
The kingdom was at peace for 6 months after Marinette was born, but then the Dark Ones attacked
The Dark Ones was a group of evil witches and wizards who want to take the powers of the miraculous for themselves and use that power to take over the magix dimension
Roland and Clarisse fought bravely with their allies, friends, and people of Miracul, but it was not enough
So with a heavy heart they sent their two children away
The hallway of the castle was in chaos as Queen Clarisse lead her son through the castle trying to get him to the magic portal
The palace shook as another attack hit their home
They were almost to the portal when Clarisse heard screams from down the hall
She knew what that meant. It meant that the Dark Ones had gotten into the palace and that she needed to protect her children at all cost
Queen Clarisse bent down so she was eye level with her son
Clarisse: Jason I need you to take Marinette to the portal room. You two need to go through the portal to somewhere safe. Do you understand?
Jason: Yes mommy
Clarisse: Good, take your sister and keep her safe
Clarisse hand Marinette, wrapped in her baby blanket that had her name stitched on it, over the Jason
Clarisse: I love you my children, I will always love you
Jason: I love you too mommy
The mother and son took off in opposite directions, Clarisse going to defend her home and Jason going to save his sister
As Jason made it to the portal room he ran to the portal
Jason *whispering*: Please send us somewhere safe
As Jason was about to step into the portal one of the Dark Ones blasted their way into the room. The shock wave sent Jason flying to the side of the room
Dark One: Well well lucky me I can take care of both royal brats with one blow
Jason shakily stood up: I will never let you hurt my sister
Dark One: We'll see about that
The Dark one shot a blast at the twin children but Jason dodge desperate to get back to the portal and get his sister to safety
Jason was just about the jump through the portal when he felt something wrap around his waist. Jason looked down to see and energy rop wrapped around him
At that moment Jason knew what he had to do
Jason looking down at Marinette: I love you Marinette
With that Jason gently put Marinette into the portal
Dark One: NO!! WHERE IS SHE?!? WHERE DID YOU SEND HER?!?
Jason turning around: Some where you'll never find her!
The Dark One let out a scream in frustration letting the energy rope disperse and sent a energy blast at Jason that hit him in the head and sent him flying through the portal
Dark One: NO!!!
It was then that the damage to the castle was too much and the portal was crushed by the falling ceiling making it so the Dark Ones would not be able to follow the young siblings
That day the kingdom of Miracul fell its people and royal family seemed to disappear in a single day
Only a small group of the King and Queen closest allies were able to escape, but none were able to say how
The kingdom of Miracul and the Miraculous themselves were lost, but the Dark Ones were also destroyed in the attack
It was a rainy day in Gotham, one of the biggest cities in the Magix dimension and a major hub of travel with all the major schools located around or near the city when Bruce Wayne, a teacher for Red Fountain a school for hero's, and his 8 year old adopted son Dick Grayson, found Jason in and ally way with a new white streak in his hair
Jason was taken into the family after an extensive search for his family
Made harder because Jason couldn't remember anything except for his own name
The Wayne's could only find out one thing about Jason that he was from the planet Miracul and as far as anyone knew the only survivor from that dark day
On a planet far from the others of the magix dimension named Earth in the city of Paris Marinette was found on a pile of flour sacks by a pair of bakers named Tom and Sabine Dupen-Cheng
The two bakers fell instantly in love with the young baby girl and her big blue eyes
They did everything they could to find the girl's family but it seemed they just didn't exist
So they took in Marinette, keeping her name the same
As Marinette grew older she developed a love for fashion and design
Marinette was always so energetic and whenever her parents' machines would die all Marinette had to do was touch them and it was like a new life would be put in them
Everything seemed perfectly normal until one night when Marinette was 16 she found a dark skinned girl fight what could only be described as a ogre and a group of nasty looking bugs in the park across from her home
Marinette could tell that the girl was in trouble so she grabbed a near by branch and ran into the battle
Marinette: How about you pick on somebody your own size
Marinette ran up to the ogre and smashed the branch over his head
The branch broke in two on impact
Ogre turning to face Marinette: Hey that hurt!
The girl: Well this is going to hurt a lot more
The girl shot what looked to be a orange energy beam at the ogre
The big bug like creatures started to surround Marinette
Marinette: Hey get away from me!
Suddenly a pink, electricity like, energy shot from Marinette hands zapping the monsters away
Ogre: Oh no not another fairy I got to get out of here!
The ogre opened what looked like a portal and he and the remaining bug like creatures ran through it
The girl: Wow girl you have some major winx
Marinette: What are you talking about what were those things
The girl introduced herself as Alya daughter to a noble family on a planet called Zenith
Marinette invited the girl to stay with her family so she could rest up a bit
Marinette explains to her parents that her friend just needed a place to stay for the night
Of course they agreed not having the heart to turn away the girl
Alya told Marinette everything she new about magic and the magix dimension
She even told Marinette about the school she was going to called Alfea, one of the best schools for fairies
As the girl's talked Alya convinced Marinette to come with her and train her powers
Marinette felt like she was in a dream
But there was only one problem
How was they going to convince her parents to let her attend a school on another planet, or at least the magic actually exists
It took a lot of effort but once Alya actually took them to Alfea they had no choice but to believe the girls
They didn't want to hold their daughter back from her full potential
They tried to go in to talk to the headmistress, Ms. Faragonda, to get Marinette registered but because they were not magical beings they couldn't enter the campus
Marinette promise her parents she would talk to the headmistress and be out as soon as possible with her
Ms. Faragonda did not know what to think of this small girl who claim to be from Earth and a fairy
There hadn't been fairies on Earth for hundreds of years, so how could Marinette be one
Faragonda could sense the magic radiating off Marinette
She hadn't felt this much energy since Clar-
No it was better not to go there, even the thought was impossible
But Faragonda couldn't get the thought out of her head especially after meeting Marinette's "birth parents" and sensing absolutely no magical energy in either of them
But either way Marinette was accepted into the school with all the other first year fairies
Marinette was in the same dorm room as Alya along with three other girls
Alix a Fairy of the Wind, Rose a Fairy of Nature, and Julika a Fairy of Music
The girls soon became close friends
Marinette made another close friend with one of the teacher's, Ms. Graham de Vanily, nephews Adrien
Adrien was studying at Red Fountain, but really wanted to be a sorcerer, but his father would never let him transfer to a different school
Marinette believed that people should be able to follow their dreams so she offer to teach him everything she learned about magic
Adrien agreed immediately and soon the two became closer than ever
Alya and Rose loved to tease Marinette that her and Adrien would end up together but Marinette didn't have those types of feeling for Adrien
Marinette took her studies very seriously
She was determined to show everybody that she belonged at the school
One the hardest tasks was getting her wings
It like it came second nature to her friends
Alya would transform into an orange and white crop top and skirt combo with oval shaped white wings
Alix would transform into a blue and white romper with sharp looking blue wings
Julika transformed into a lavender dress with darker shade of purple wings that were cresent shape
And Rose would transform into a pink dress with white capti leggings with a lighter shade of pink wings that were shaped like leaves
Marinette wasn't able to transform until she and Adrien ran into a pushy witch who wouldn't leave Adrien alone until Marinette stepped in
That seemed to anger the witch who turned all her negative attention onto Marinette
With the incentive of staying alive and Marinette was able to transform into red dress with little black sparkles with pale blue wings
A couple of good energy blast from Marinette scared the witch away in no time
Marinette did meet somebody she was very much interested in when Adrien introduced her and her friends to his friends at Red Fountain
They were all able to meet up on a school holiday called Founders Day
Adrien waving his arms to get the girls' attention: Hey over here you guys
Marinette seeing Adrien: Look guys there's Adrien
Marinette ran over to Adrien wrapping him up in a hug
Adrien: I'm glad I can finally introduce you girls to my friends.
Alya: And we can't wait to meet your friends
Adrien: Guys I would like to introduce Nino, my best friend besides Marinette, Jon, and Damian they are go to Red Fountain with
Rose: It's very nice to meet you guys!
Marinette: Adrien has told me so much about you all
Jon jumping in to shake Marinette's hand: And Adrien has told us so much about you!
Damian stepping in: Jon leave the poor girl alone. Hello I'm Damian Wayne it's a pleasure to meet you
Damian grabbed Marinette's hand and place a kiss on her knuckles
Marinette could fell heat rush to her cheeks
Marinette could hear Rose squeal about how romantic the gesture was
Alya: So are y'all going to be participating in the big race
Nino: Jon and Damian are I'm actually going to be the DJ of the event
Alya: Oh really? Can I interview for my blog? I'm doing a big piece about the event
Nino: Sure dudette! How about you come with me while I set up, you can ask all the questions you want and still be able to watch the race
Alya: Sounds great! I'll see y'all later!
Adrien: So are any of you going to be participating in the race?
Marinette: Alix is, she's on the practice track right now
Jon: Oh really should we be worried
Rose: Well she is a Fairy of the Wind so I'd say yes
Julika: Speed is literally part of her powers
Rose spotting some flowers: Oh look at this flowers! Let's go check it out Julika!
Rose grabbed Julika's arm and dragged her away
Marinette laughing: Rose in a nature fairy so she is very into plants
Adrien: I hope she doesn't get too distracted Alix would hate if they missed the race
Marinette: Julika wouldn't let her miss it! We all know how much this means to Alix
Damian with a faux look of hurt on his face: Oh does that mean you won't be cheering for us
Jason popping up beside Damian: and why would she cheer for you Demon Spawn when she could be cheering me on
Damian: Oh no
Marinette giggling: Demon Spawn?
Damain: That is my idiot brothers' awful attempt at as a joke
Dick popping up on the other side of Damian: Aww that hurts Baby Bird
Damian: Will you stop with the nicknames
Tim popping up behind Marinette and putting his hands on her shoulders: Yeah guys your embarrassing him in front of this lovely lady.
Damian: Don't you have a wall to crash into or something
Jason: Well that's not very nice. How about you introduce us to your lovely lady friend
Damian just glared at his intruding brothers
Adrien stepping in: Actually this is Marinette, she's the fairy that's been teaching me magic
Adrien: Marinette, these are the Wayne boys they're all adopted by are hand to hand combat teacher, Bruce Wayne, well all except Damian. He's Bruce's birth son. That's Dick Grayson he's the oldest and right now he's a student teacher at Red Fountain. Jason Todd and Tim Drake, they're both juniors.
Jason: The best Juniors!
A horn was blown over the speaker system
Jon: That's the signal for the racers to get ready we better go
Jason grabbing Damian in a headlock: Come on Demon Spawn let's go
Damian: Release me Todd!!!
Jon blushing: I guess I better be going
Adrien also blushing: I'll be rooting for you Jon
As the boys walked away Marinette looked and Adrien with a smug smile on her face
Marinette: So does the little sorcerer in training have a crush on a hero?
Adrien: Oh shut up! Don't think I didn't see you blushing at Damian back there
The race was one of the most exciting things Marinette had ever seen
Alix won the race which she promptly rubbed into the Wayne boys' faces
They took it in good stride and demanded a rematch
After the race there was a dance
Damain and Marinette spent the whole dance together, dancing and talking about anything and everything
As the school year went on the girls got closer to the Red Fountain boys
Soon they were spending every weekend in Gotham hanging out together as one big group
Marinette never missed and opportunity to tease Adrien about Jon
And Adrien made sure to return the favor by teasing Marinette about Damian
It was nearing the end of the school year and that meant finals were coming up
The Red Fountain boys had to do an obstacle course with different teams depending on which grade the boys were in
The girls were able to watch the boys finales and they all did very well
Damian was determined to impress Marinette with his skills
He wanted to make a lasting impression on her and maybe ask her out when he and the rest of their friends go to Earth to visit
Sadly Alfea did not allow the boys to watch their friends' finals
For the girls they had to enter a virtual reality chamber and bring and a "dead" planet back to life
The planet was chosen randomly by the chamber itself
Marinette was the last one to go and much to Faragonda's surprise planet chosen for Marinette was Miracul
Miracul was never chosen by the chamber before
Marinette didn't know what to think of the planet that was chosen for her
It was cold and dark frozen waste land
Marinette started by spreading seeds around that only needed magic to grow
With the plants growing Marinette started to try and warm the planet by parting the clouds and letting sunshine in
It was a lot of work, but Marinette was able to do it
She was almost complete when she started to hear a voice calling her name
The Voice: Marinette, Marinette. Come to me Marinette!
Marinette followed the strange voice as it beckoned her into a cave
The Voice: Marinette come fulfill your duty. Protect the Miraculous
Marinette: What's a Miraculous?
The Voice: Come Marinette
As Marinette drew closer to the voice she found was a black ring with a green paw on it.
The Voice: Take this and keep it safe. Don't let anybody know you have this.
Marinette couldn't explain it but she followed the voice's comands
She hid the ring in her pocket and complete her exam
Which she passed with flying colors
As Marinette said goodbye to her friends the ring still sat in her pocket safe from any prying eyes
As Marinette stepped through the portal back to Earth she couldn't help but feel like something big was about to begin
In a dark cave somewhere in the Magix universe the spirits of the Dark Ones gathered
Dark One: Do you feel that?
Dark One: It's a Miraculous!
Dark One: the Miraculous were lost along with Miracul!
Dark One: They must have only been hidden!
Dark Ones: Only somebody from Miracul's royal line could bring a Miraculous out of hiding!
Dark One: We must find this person and get them to bring us all the Miraculous!
Dark One: And we'll do that with some help from our coven
As the Dark One said that a light is shined silhouetting the still alive members of the Dark Ones coven
Lila: Dont worry ancient ones we'll get the Miraculous and destroy whoever the remaining member of the Miracul royal line is!

Please don't hate me for the cliff Hanger but it was the Perfect place to end part 1. I hope you like it!

Like Real People Do (Eleventh Doctor x Reader)
Gender neutral. Somewhat inspired by Like Real People Do by Hozier, aka immortal pagan god. The reader dies when they first meet the Doctor, and he seeks them out afterwards. Haha River Song who?
Word count: 2000 (I edited so it would be perfect, that’s right i’m a Writer™)
Tumblr media
The Doctor stared at the psychic paper in his hands, the words "HELP, DOCTOR" and coordinates neatly displayed on it. Whoever left him this message had abilities, ones he didn't know about. He didn't like not knowing. So he navigated his TARDIS out of the time vortex to those coordinates and swung open the door to a blaring alarm with a few people panicking in front of him.
"Hello, I'm the Doctor! What seems to be the trouble?" he introduced himself cheerily.
"Doctor! Good, you're finally here. I would kiss you, but rules. Can't do that when we're in danger."
He turned to look at you, completely confused. You were dressed as if you were blending in with the ship's crew. You had clearly established yourself as the leader of the group because they looked at you like you would save them. It was the same way everyone desperately looked to him for answers in any of his life-threatening adventures.
"There is an attack on this ship, and every few minutes the other ship is firing at us. It's leaving holes and breaking the shields. There's not enough power to get them back up completely. I've only put them where they've broken the ship so that we don't lose oxygen. Like patching a hole in your pants but they just keep ripping somewhere else. Don't give me that confused look. Keep up."
"Sorry, ah... who are you?" he asked, following you as you led the group out of the area.
"Seriously? Time travellers. Forget that kissing thing. Anyway, no time to lose. We're going to try and communicate with the other ship because that's what you would do."
"Did you send the message on my paper?"
"Yes, of course. Like I said, keep up."
The other members of the group were questioning both the new person and the current leader of their group, and the Doctor went over a plan of what to say. You all moved forward into a narrow hallway, the Doctor following right behind you. Just then, a loud crack sounded as a shot landed right in front of you, and you cried out as the Doctor tried to grab your hand.
"No!" he shouted.
He wasn't close enough, and you were pulled out of the ship and into empty space against his will. He spotted a pad across the hallway and used his sonic screwdriver on it, bringing the shields back up where you had flown out. The hole was replaced by a dark film that covered the damaged area. It was a small blessing that he didn't have to see someone dying again.
"Who was that?" he demanded.
"We only just met-" began one of the group members.
"A name!"
"(Y/N) (L/N)," said a teenager standing in the back of the group.
"We can't mourn. Let's go."
As usual, the Doctor was able to fix the situation. He made a compromise with the other ship, led the ship with his TARDIS to the closest planet, and gave comfort to those who needed it most with his hundreds of years of wisdom. As he stepped back onto the TARDIS, he felt as though he had lost something. Well, he did. Another person's life. He searched for your name everywhere until he found you. A younger you. He didn't think you were human, but as you went about your every day life, you were blending in with the humans. You weren't wearing the clothing that blended you into the crew, and he liked your personal style. As usual, trouble came along and he was pulling you out of danger just in time.
"Hi, I'm the Doctor. Run!"
You followed him and didn't question him once. And when you followed him into the TARDIS after the threat was gone, you didn't ask about it. He knew you'd make one hell of a companion.
"Time Lord technology. Infinite space in an object," you mumbled, more to yourself.
"You... yes. And you're an empath with a telepathic field, according to the TARDIS's scans," the Doctor responded, and you nodded. "Lonely."
"One of the last of my kind. And so are you," you responded.
There was an understanding between the two of you that seemed to pass. You asked nothing about him, and he asked nothing of you. He didn't know much about your past, just the present you and what you were like. He decided you were one of the most beautiful mysteries in the universe. And for once, the Doctor didn't mind not knowing.
You traveled with him for a long time. He sometimes brought along his best friend Amy Pond and her boyfriend Rory. They became your friends as well. The Doctor would sometimes look at you with pain in his eyes, and Amy would notice. Whenever she asked what was wrong, he would instantly smile and brush it off. It was difficult for him to tell her that he was in love with a person who he already knew would die.
He taught you how to fly the TARDIS. Your smile that day seemed to brighten the room. It was either that or the ship felt the same way that he did about how wonderful your presence was. Your first idea was to bring him to a peaceful planet inhabited by only animals.
"I came here many years before I reached Earth. It's quiet and few know about it," you said.
You pulled him to a small hill to observe the field of flowers and small mammals running about in the grass. You sat down and plucked at the grass beside you.
"One of the few planets that hasn't been destroyed by another civilisation," the Doctor said.
"Oh, no, it does. In the future. Endings bring beginnings. I just liked coming here before that because I was around when other aliens started moving onto this planet. Good for us, you have a time machine, and we can come back here as many times as we want as long as our timelines aren't interfering."
He snorted and placed his hand on top of one of yours, moving it to his lap. He pressed his lips into your palm, and you gave him a small grin as he looked into your eyes. He didn't return it.
"I won't ask, but you always look so sad, Doctor. I wish I could help you."
"You look sad a lot of the time, too," the Doctor accused, "but I'm old. I'm allowed to be sad."
"I'm not as old as you, but I'm also not human. My lifespan could exceed yours and neither of us would know."
He smiled as you laughed, pressing his lips to your hand and keeping it there. Then he told you that he loved you for the first time. He giggled when you returned it, as he usually did when he was excited. There, on that field, he kissed you for the first time. And he realised what a curse it was to love someone dying.
You stayed with him even when he lost Amy and Rory. He let himself feel the pain of losing a companion for once and decided to retire. You joined him, of course. It seemed that he was experiencing many firsts with you around. You joined him as he found his Impossible Girl, who ended up becoming your Impossible Girl. This only became an issue when Clara stepped foot in the TARDIS after a few days of your own adventures, and you both shouted "Impossible Girl" at the same time. You coined her "our Impossible Girl" and the Doctor proceeded to be very mushy and soft with you, to which Clara pretended to gag and walked out of the blue box.
He never took you for granted, as you never did him. Every moment he could, he told you that you were the best thing to ever happen to him. Once in a while, when he was feeling particularly anxious after an adventure, he would face you and put his hands on your cheeks and give you a few words of love. You knew he was afraid of losing you, and you would return his worries with a squeeze of a hand or a kiss.
A day came when you told him you had some business. You entered some information into the TARDIS console and showed it to him.
"We've traveled a lot and I promised some of the people we've met some things. You can just drop me off, pick me back up when I call you," you said.
When he went quiet for a moment after checking the monitor, you started to step towards him. He looked back up to you with a grin on his face and ran around the console, slamming buttons, pulling levers, and sliding around on his boots.
"You need shoes with better traction. I love you, and I'll call you in a bit, okay?"
"(Y/N). My (Y/N)," the Doctor said, his hands now holding the sides of your neck in a gentle caress. "The best thing that has ever happened to me in all the universes. You are the best companion any Time Lord could want, and the best lover any being could ask for. I love you with your strengths and your flaws. I love you more than I could ever imagine. You finish that business, and you do it well."
"Hm. This is hardly the longest I've left you. We had a whole Earth month when I had to be there for a bit. I love you."
"I love you," he whispered back.
He pulled you into an embrace, which you returned automatically. He kissed you and you chuckled, taking the steps out of the TARDIS that would mark your final exit. This was a walk towards your death.
You, with your intelligence. You, with your empathy, no matter how well you showed it. You, with your timer ticking down. You, with both the Doctor's hearts. You, taking the Doctor's love with you.
It would only be a few days for you now, he knew. He put the TARDIS into the time vortex. The love of his life, gone within minutes upon meeting him and dying while trying to save other people. It was a death worthy of a companion and worthy to be his own. He remembered the room you shared. Bunk beds. You hated him for it.
"Doctor, we've been together for hundreds of years! Can you please, for the love of all the universe, tell the TARDIS to change it?"
"You're the empath. You talk to her."
"You're my lover, and she's your ship! Fix it!"
A bit of fiddling with the console redesigned the room. No bunk bed. Of course, you never really minded that much. You knew how much he enjoyed the human invention of a bed with a ladder. He could only laugh sadly, but it was much too early for him to be shedding tears. Perhaps he never would. He hurt and loved all at the same time. He knew the risks he took when he found you all those years ago, and he took them anyway. He never could resist a mystery, and you were his favourite one. He set his course for the first peaceful planet you brought him to, just one last time.
He pulled out the psychic paper. You began and ended your journey with him in just minutes, and began it again when he went back for you all because of the paper. His brows furrowed when he noticed that it wasn't blank like it should have been.
"HELP, DOCTOR"
Coordinates. Just a fraction of a number's difference compared to the first time he saw the same message. An empath with a telepathic field.
This was your call.
"Oh, you're brilliant. You are amazing."
He changed his course, the last lever pulled with the one word that he always used in a time of need.
"Geronimo!"

Inuyasha Characters As Roomates
In honor of yashahime’s release i’ve decided to post this for no real reason. Can you tell who my bias is lmao. Lmk if I should do a Part 2 with the people I missed. Also I apologize I haven’t updated in like a year I have a post addressing this coming up soon. Thank you for your continued support despite the fact that I’ve been updating infrequently, I really appreciate it. Without further ado:
Warnings: Some swear words oop
Word Count: 1632
Inuyasha
Tumblr media
You want Inuyasha as your roommate???Chile anyways...
No but fr tho in general Inuyasha isn’t an awful roommate, he pays his bills on time(ususally), doesn’t make too big of a mess but that’s just because he owns like 3 things and 2 outfits.
No, the real problem with Inuyasha is that he is LOUD
You walk outside to throw the trash away and he’s in his room screaming about a video game or something and the WHOLE neighborhood can hear him.
People pokin they head out in concern and everything
Another time he was watching a horror movie and you guess the characters did something stupid because you hear a scream from the character and then Inuyasha screaming “WHAT THE FUCK, WHY WOULD YOU GO THAT WAY DUMBASS! THAT’S WHY YOU’RE DEAD NOW!”
Shit woke you up out of your sleep
After that incident you knew you’d have to ask him to be a bit more considerate of your eardrums.
So, you ask him to quiet down and he pouts like a child and huffs and puffs.
He does quiet down tho...for about 2 minutes until he stubs his toe on the end of the couch
God bless you and your patience but god bless his girlfriend Kagome
She’s a saint
If it were up to Inuyasha your groceries would consist of a cabinet of ramen like the man has the budget for ramen and paying his share of he bills why would he spend money on things like fruit???
This is where Kagome comes in, she comes by pretty regularly and she brings food or groceries because she of all people knows how terrible Inuyasha’s shopping habits are.
Bless her soul truly and every time she does this you thank her lmaoo
Inuyasha eventually does move out with Kagome but he does apologize for being loud before he leaves, you aren’t sure if he did that on his own or if Kagome made him do that
Kagome
Tumblr media
She’s so sweet
Fair share of chores, groceries, she cooks for yall sometimes, truly a saint
Only 2 problems:
Ms. Girl has no moneyyy
Poor Kagome, she always tries to pay her bills on time but between trying to feed Inuyasha, helping out her family, and school the paycheck only spreads so thin(She does eventually quit school to start working more but)
Nothing wrong with this but you do end up having to cover for her sometimes.
She of course thank you and you don’t usually mind and your routine was functional for you two, until you meet problem number 2
The loudest mf on the planet Earth, her boyfriend, Inuyasha
One day you’re in he kitchen grabbing something to eat and you hear pounding on the door like the police showed up.
You proceed cautiously because...what the fuck and you almost reach the door before you hear
“I’ll get it!”
You’ve never seen Kagome run faster
She opens the door and you see this 5′5 mf who was banging on the door like he paid the bills
Inuyasha just has rbf but you don't know that so you think he’s making faces at you
Immediately you have a problem with him
“Hey Kagome, who’s this?”
She looks between you two before immediately rushing to introduce you to each other
“Oh, I forgot my purse be right back guys.”, Kagome left not knowing that yall were about 2 seconds from fighting
You didn’t like Inuyasha for banging on the door and glaring and he didn’t like you for glaring at him
After that you just avoided talking to inuyasha for the sake of keeping the peace
When he came over you exited stage left
Eventually Kagome does move out with Inuyasha and she asks why you and Iuyasha had never spoken to each other
“Are you kidding me the first day we met he was already glaring at me?!”
“Ohhh, that’s just his face, he’s really sweet promise :D”
You doubted that
You liked Kagome as a roommate but you were glad she was moving out so you could find someone who could pay the bills on time.
Sango
Tumblr media
She a baddie ngl
Aside from that, Sango is the perfect roommate
However, I hope you aren’t allergic to cats or Miroku because they’re pretty much a package deal
Also hopefully you don’t hate children because she does have Kohaku to worry about
But she makes pretty good money at her job so expenses aren’t a issue
She also isn’t home too often between her job, taking care of Kohaku and Kirara, and her relationship
She ends up spending more and more time at Miroku’s place anyways
Sango finally moves in with Miroku when she gets pregnant, yall still keep in touch tho because you’ve become good friends
And thus you say goodbye to the best roommate to ever grace this Earth lmao
Miroku
Tumblr media
Miroku is the shortest lasting roommate on this list
Mans is a little creeper pervert and that shit gets annoying after a while
You’ll be walking out the shower and Miroku’s standing there like “hey lil mama lemme whisper in ya ear”
Needless to say you smacked the taste outta his mouth and he stopped with that real quick
He stops but you’re surprised when you see Sango come over
Your hand starts itching with the urge to slap him again...
You meet Sango and what she sees in him is... baffling, scientists to this day still don’t understand
Baby girl, you’re Sango do better, self love
Anyways, Miroku moves out eventually and he takes his nasty ass ways with him
Later you find out that Sango moved in with him and sje’s gon have a baby by him
But you know that’s none of your business
Koga
Tumblr media
If you thought Inuyasha was loud...
Inuyasha doesn’t have any friends, Koga has a wolf pack...
Parties all the time good luck homie
If you were tryna study, sleep, do work, etc. best wishes lmao
You come home and mans got 2 random people over like how ya doin   O-O
“Hello”
“Where’s Koga?”
They point to the kitchen and you head here ready to just “talk” with Koga
He turns around and gives you the cutest smile known to man and you immediately lose your will to argue
Can’t argue with a man that beautiful sorry...
Anyways besides being loud af, Koga is HYPER
Mans is up at 5 am knocking on your door like “hey you wanna jog to the gym”
“No Koga, goodnight”
‘No problem, it’s the morning btw!”
He’s actually a decent roommate and he moves into a bigger house with his friends and calls it the ‘pack house’
He actually invites you to come move in w him and his buddies
You tell him you’ll think about it
Sesshomaru
Tumblr media
The king of “I’m better than you”
He has his life so well together and you’ve gotta give him props
Mans is basically Caspar the Friendly Ghost of roommates
Does he actually live here? the lights stay on and his name is on the deed so... I guess
Seriously tho, Sesshomaru doesn’t need a roommate but he does need someone to mind Rin
You might ask, what about Jaken, Jaken is busy (following Sesshomaru) or so he claims
Sesshomaru isn’t too bad honestly he covers the majority of the expenses in exchange for you watching Rin and feeding Ah-Un
So you’re basically Rin’s stay at home nanny
But you don’t mind because she is a SWEETHEART
Ah-Un isn’t too bad, just feed 2 lizards
(Although depending on who you are feeding them bugs might be your worst nightmare)
Jaken and you buttheads all the time, it’s almost comical
The times you interact with him mainly consist of you telling him to leave Rin alone or him telling you something Sesshomaru said
Speaking of Sesshomaru you don’t see him often and the only times you hear from him are in the form of notes he leaves around the house to the degree of ‘I fed Ah-Un this morning’ or ‘Make sure Rin takes her vitamins’
The other times you “hear” from him are when Jaken comes by saying things like ‘Lord Sesshomaru has requested that you prepare Rin to go out’
And for a while you were like who tf does he think he is because like yea he pays most of the rent but like he isn’t paying you for this so why does he think he can order you around indirectly
The first time you see Sesshomaru, it’s late and Rin’s been asleep for hours.
You walked into the kitchen and didn’t bother with turning the lights on but then you heard the smallest shuffle and a groan
And the moonlight comes through the window at the perfect angle and it reflects so beautifully off his silver hair
He turs some and you see his face and immediately take back all the times you’ve cussed him out mentally
And the you realize you’re in your pajamas staring at this man you’ve never met before that’s sleeping on the couch. For all you know he could be some random guy who broke in
He looks so peaceful that you loathe to disturb it but you poke at him w a stick and he groans out something to the tune of “Go away Jaken”
“I’m not Jaken”
He immediately sat up and stared at you like he was trying to figure out who you were in his head for a moment
“Don’t you want to sleep in your room?” you asked him. He stood up and begun to walk towards his room in response
You just watched him walk away but before he turned the corner into the hallway you swear you heard him say “You should get some sleep too.”

Someone you like (part 3)
This is the third chapter of my “Someone you like” inspired fic. It’s also available on AO3 in case you prefer that platform. Please hit me up to talk about Plance!
Summary: Lance finds a better friend in Pidge than he could have antecipated.
Also, Pidge pining hour.
17 and 15 years old
“I can’t believe we have a cow.” Lance stared in awe at the animal. It looked completely out-of-place in the middle of the highly technological castle-ship. “Where did that dude even get her from?” he exclaimed, waving an arm at it. Lance gasped, lowering his voice to a whisper, “Do you think she’s… a clone?”
Kaltenecker kept on chewing, indifferent to Lance’s fussy behavior.
“Most likely,” Pidge responded. She was looking down at a tablet that contained results from the scan they’d conducted on Kaltenecker. “She is carbon-based, which isn’t such a rarity out here, but is always good to know. The anatomy also checks out with normal cow biology. The only change I could find is that her diet is more adapted to what’s available in this quadrant.”
Lance scratched the top of his head. “Does that mean she can’t eat Earth food?”
“She probably can…” Pidge tapped the edge of the tablet in a considering manner. “We eat alien food and nothing has happened yet.”
“So we’re winging it? That doesn’t sound very scientific.” He didn’t like the idea of putting their cow in danger. “Can’t you figure something out for her to eat?”
“I’m not a biochemist, Lance.” Pidge took her eyes off Kaltenecker to glare at him. “Nor a geneticist. That’s more Coran’s area of expertise.”
“Easy!” Lance held up his hands. “We can talk to him, then. I was just asking a question…”
Pidge huffed out a breath, then let her shoulders drop. “I don’t know how you’re not annoyed right now. We spent the entire afternoon in a fountain to get a freaking video game, only to realize we have no way to turn it on!”
“I actually had fun.” Lance shrugged. He didn’t really see what bothered her so much. Sure, he wanted to play Killbot Phantasm, but even the fact that they’d found the game out in the universe was enough for him. “It felt like the sort of crazy I used to get to back home.”
She fidgeted with the tablet in her hands. “Going to the mall and causing a scene?”
Lance eyed Pidge curiously. Her brow was furrowed, but she looked more lost than irritated. “Sure,” he acquiesced. “This was hardly my first time fishing out coins from a fountain.”
“It was for me,” Pidge interrupted brusquely. “I had never done that before.”
He cocked an eyebrow at her. “Really? You’re one of the biggest troublemakers I’ve met. I’m pretty sure you’re at least guilty of fraud after lying about your identity to get into the Garrison.”
For some reason, this seemed to startle her. It was almost ludicrous to think that Pidge had gone undercover without realizing the legal implications of her actions. It would be just like her, too, to get so caught up in the big picture that she simply bulldozed through every other detail.
“That was different, though.” She was pouting now, her cheeks comedically puffed out. “I was more of a homebody when younger.” Her gaze was lowered to her hands, distant. “I don’t have as many stories to tell as you and Hunk.”
“I seriously doubt that.” Lance scoffed. “Aren’t you always talking about the crazy experiments you and Matt did? I bet he will have a bunch of embarrassing shit about you that you never tell us. I can’t wait to get my hands on all that sweet, sweet blackmail!”
Lance wrung his hands menacingly, but when he looked down at Pidge the expression on her face caught him off guard. He expected her to be exasperated or at least displeased, so the tenderness in her eyes was unforeseen.
He’d been talking about her brother as if they would meet soon, Lance realized. Pidge mentioned him often, but not in detail, not in any capacity that didn’t serve to remind everyone of her mission to find her family. He guessed it felt too much like an open wound, like when Lance tried to talk about Marco or Rachel.
But maybe it did them some good, too.
“Besides, even if we never get to play Killbot Phantasm, we still did plenty today.” Lance began to count on his hand. “We stole money from a fountain so we could buy a vintage video game. We got a cow from a space mall. We were chased by an alien security guard who thought we were pirates! I couldn’t make this up if I tried!”
When he laughed, Pidge joined in. She tried to suppress it, but the air escaped through her nose and her lips quirked up in undeniable amusement. It always felt like a victory to make her laugh. Pidge didn’t let herself get distracted often.
“I don’t know,” she quipped, looking more relaxed. “You have the most convoluted stories of anyone I know.”
Although Pidge said it as if it was a bad thing, Lance could see the playfulness in the twist of her mouth. This was nice, too, because a year earlier he would have seen only the harshness in his teammate. On an impulse, he leaned down to hug her.
“W – What?!” Pidge thrashed against his arms. “Lance, let me go!”
“No can do, Pidgey.” He held on. Lance had crossed his arms behind her head, keeping her tight against his chest. “You can’t escape this friendship.”
“Yes, I can, you nitwit!” Pidge’s voice was muffled by his shirt and Lance simply pretended not to hear her. “You’re suffocating me!”
“We have Kaltenecker now, we’re her parents!” he stated happily, despite the sting of Pidge pinching his sides. “Stop, you don’t want her to see us fighting.”
Pidge let her arms fall, looking up at Lance. Her face was red and her hair stuck out from where he’d accidentally run his hands through it. “You’re ridiculous.”
There was a well-placed moo from Kaltenecker, as if the cow agreed.
Lance grinned and finally gave up his grip on her, taking a step back. Pidge immediately punched him in the stomach in retaliation.
“Ow!” he complained, though it was clear she hadn’t put any real force behind it. “We were having a moment!”
Pidge turned up her nose, but her complexion only grew more flustered. “Then you can forget all about it, like you did with Keith.”
“Fine, you win.” Lance crossed his arms, looking smugly down at her. “I did make you blush, though. I might be rusty, but old Lance still has an effect on the ladies!”
“Ugh!” Pidge moved so quickly that Lance had to hide behind Kaltenecker in order to evade her hits. When they stopped running, she kept her tablet at hand, brandishing it as if it was her bayard. “Never say that to me again!”
He stuck his tongue out at her, then had to duck when Pidge aimed the tablet at his head once more. “Jeez, you know I’m kidding!”
“Yeah.” Something in her voice made Lance shoot back up. She was staring right at him, looking more serious than he’d expected. “I know.”
Before he could ask what was wrong, Pidge walked away from where he stood and towards a panel in the back of the room. She deposited her tablet on one side, then started clicking away at a few keys.
“Coran mentioned we could reprogram the room to look like a field on Earth,” she explained once Lance had made his way over. “We could maybe get some vegetation from a planet in this quadrant and create an area for her to graze.”
“Yeah, that would be cool.” He felt almost dizzy from the ups and downs of Pidge’s humor. The coldness that surrounded her now made Lance want to apologize, but it also annoyed him. He thought they were having a good time earlier. “Introducing Kaltenecker to Earth food isn’t really the priority, huh?”
Pidge nodded, avoiding his eyes.
Despite the awkwardness, Lance didn’t want to leave. The idea of letting Pidge stay mad at him left a bitter taste in his mouth, especially after the day they’d had. She could be incessantly frustrating, but she had also grown on him.
Like a weed. A short, bad-tempered weed.
He watched in silence as she worked the panel. Her concentration was admirable, even when she used it as a way to push Lance away. It reminded him of their time in the Garrison, when it felt like every step he took in their friendship was met with two steps back from Pidge.
With the privilege of hindsight, Lance could guess how tiring the disguise must have been for her. Their studies had never been easy and Pidge had perfected her mediocrity like an art. Knowing her true genius now, Lance imagined she’d actually known it all but had chosen to keep herself under the radar.
“Are you just going to stand there?” Her tone struck a chord with him, bringing forth a familiarity that he hadn’t felt since Earth.
Lance put his hands on his hips, raising an eyebrow at her. “I’m just waiting for you, Pidgeon.”
She turned back to the panel, then took a deep breath, as if calming herself.
“I have a lot to do here,” she said in warning. After a moment, her expression softened. “Why don’t you take the game up to your room? I’ll grab Hunk on my way there and we can try to adapt everything to the castle’s power source.”
Lance could recognize her words for the peace offering that they were. He aimed finger guns at her, earning himself a snicker.
“Don’t take too long or I’ll fall asleep!” he called out as he walked backwards, towards the exit.
“I’ll get Kaltenecker to lick your hair, if you do!” she replied, attention already back to the control panel.
Lance laughed, but he knew that was no empty threat.
--
He didn’t often spend his nights roaming the hallways of the castle. Lance was a big believer on the benefits of good sleep and an established routine. It helped him maintain his complexion blemish-free and it contributed to keeping him sane when his mind felt scrambled beyond repair.
There were times, however, when not even spa days and special hair masks could calm his thoughts, and then he was stuck like this, struggling to fall asleep.
He buried deeper into his jacket. It wasn’t his normal one, but a big, fleece-y thing that Hunk and Pidge had gotten for him in their last trip to the space mall. Lance loved it fiercely. The castle cooled during the night-cycle to ensure the machines didn’t overheat and Lance always suffered for it.
A blinking light on the doors to his right caught Lance’s attention. It signaled movement in the hangar, just one of many fail-safes devised by Coran and Pidge to ensure no one was trying to mess with the lions. The light wasn’t all that worrying on its own; it was just a way to know what rooms were currently in use.
Lance was too tired to think through his actions. He moved into the hangar, not even questioning who might be in there. He wanted to see Blue. Or Red. Or anyone, really.
He rubbed at his eyes, collecting the tears that threatened to spill down his cheeks.
Sure enough, there was Pidge, curled around a set of tools and a big, wiry mess of parts. She had probably been propped up against the processing columns but ended up sliding down in her sleep.
The image filled Lance with so much affection that he found himself smiling. It was unusual to see their youngest member without her defenses put up. She was only second to Keith in her reserve, something that had initially displeased Lance about the two.
Pidge did have the habit of falling asleep while she worked, but Shiro and Hunk were the ones charged with checking on her. Lance thought she looked strangely cute like this, with her mouth a little open and her glasses askew. He’d forgotten how young she truly was, because of how smart and assertive Pidge could be. She didn’t want to be treated like a child and the whole team could respect her strength and maturity.
Even before they’d ended up light-years from Earth, Pidge had already carried more on her shoulders than anyone Lance had ever met. Despite knowing it was a vain hope, Lance wished he hadn’t made things harder for her back in the Garrison.
He crouched down and carefully pulled her glasses free. Strands of hair stuck to her cheeks and forehead, but without the too-big frames Lance could see her face more clearly.
Pidge already looked older than she had when they were students. After so many wormhole jumps, it was difficult to determine how long had passed since their discovery of the Blue Lion, but the passage of time made itself known in other ways.
She was pretty, but that didn’t surprise Lance. Pidge’s no-nonsense ways and sharp eyes had always been striking, even when he only pointed out these aspects of her as a joke.
Lance took off his jacket and balled it up, trying to slip it behind her head. It wouldn’t be comfortable, but it was an improvement to her current position.
“Lance?” Her eyes had fluttered open. From this close, he could see the fatigue that clouded them.
“Hey, Pidgey-Pidge,” he called out in a whisper.
“Hey, loverboy.” She giggled, lids opening and closing tiredly.
The nickname shot another wave of emotion through him. For some reason, Lance felt his eyes burn again.
“We should get you to bed,” he tried to say, though his voice sounded rougher than he intended.
Pidge didn’t immediately notice. She nodded a few times and sat up, stretching her arms over her head. She frowned at the pieces of tech still scattered around them, then focused her eyes back on him.
“Lance,” she sounded much more awake now, “why are you here?”
“Oh, you know,” he stalled. “Sometimes, in the middle of the night, a guy just needs to grab some food goo.” He flexed his now exposed arms. “I’m a growing boy, Pidge.”
Pidge raised a brow, looking supremely unimpressed. “Don’t lie to me.”
Lance winced a little at the terse tone she’d adopted. Even in her half-awake state, Pidge was still able to see through his bullshit.
“The kitchen is nowhere near the hangar,” she continued when he didn’t reply. Her voice was soft in a way Lance had never heard from Pidge. “And your eyes look red.”
He shifted his head to the side to escape her scrutiny. Lance half-expected Pidge to get angry at his stubbornness, so he couldn’t help the small, shocked sob that escaped him when her hand touched his chin, slowly lifting his gaze.
The worry in her face quickly changed into something understanding, an almost desperate ache that must have reflected his own expression. Without another word, Lance buried into her embrace, curved so that his forehead rested on Pidge’s shoulder.
“I c-can’t stop thinking about them,” he confessed amid his sobs. “What – What if they think I’m dead?”
Pidge murmured an “I know” into his hair. Despite their size difference, she wrapped herself around Lance so completely that he felt guarded by her arms.
“Come on,” she said once his whimpers had quieted down. “Your room is the closest.”
Lance let her move away. His knees hurt from the position he’d assumed on the floor and, now that he no longer had Pidge there, the cold of the hangar raised goosebumps across his arms.
“Put this back on.” Pidge draped the fleece jacket over his shoulders. Her hands lingered there for a moment, drawing a line in the fabric. “It’s a better coat than it could ever be a pillow.”
It wasn’t much of a joke, but Lance smiled at her. Crying made him exhausted, but not enough to ignore Pidge’s efforts to cheer him up. He stood up.
“Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it.”
They made their way to his room in silence. Pidge had to stop at the hangar doors to put in the security measures, but no more words were exchanged. Lance was just glad to have company.
They paused in front of his dorm. “Will you come in?”
Pidge studied him carefully. Lance didn’t think she could see much in the dark of the hallway, but the truth was that she’d already caught him in a breakdown, there was nothing else to hide.
“Do you want to be alone?” she finally vocalized her concern. Lance shook his head, feeling his chest constrict at the possibility that she might leave. “Then I’ll come in.”
He went straight to his bed and laid down. Pidge stood at the entrance, letting the door slide closed behind her. The awkwardness was palpable and Lance couldn’t blame her for it; Pidge was not the best at social cues.
“At least sit down with me. I promise I won’t start bawling again.” He didn’t mean to sound depreciative, but his self-consciousness must have shown, because Pidge narrowed her eyes at him.
“I don’t care if you cry, you doofus.” She marched up to the bed and sat down near the headboard. “Put your head in my lap.”
Her demanding tone didn’t fit in with the gentleness of her actions. Lance was amused by the incongruity. Pidge was rough around the edges and her earlier show off affection now made her bristle, almost as if she was afraid to reveal too much to him. Lance could understand the urge to put up a front, but he was too exhausted to be embarrassed.
He rolled on his side, fitting his shoulder under her thigh.
“My mom used to do this when I was upset.” Pidge ran a hand through his hair, pulling lightly at the knots until they were undone. “The rhythm of it always soothed me. That and her, really. Mom had – I mean, she has a calming influence.”
Lance didn’t comment on her slip up. The feeling of nails scraping against his scalp was pleasing. The personal closeness was something that they also did in his family and he had missed it. He was a naturally affectionate person and the team didn’t seem to appreciate his expansiveness all that much.
“I used to do this for Veronica and Rachel,” he breathed out. “Ronie is older and she would force me to braid their hair when I was younger. I complained about it non-stop, but now I miss it.”
Pidge traced his hairline, then down to his ear, neck, collarbone. She seemed absent-minded as she did it, mind caught somewhere else.
“Matt was the one who would call me Pidge. I used to hate that nickname. After he disappeared, it seemed only right to assume it as my new name. For him.”
Lance shifted a little, so that he could look up at her. “Your real name isn’t Pidge?”
This made her stop for a moment and look down at him in exasperation. Lance suppressed the urge to laugh, but his lips still twisted into a smile, despite his effort.
Pidge flicked him on the forehead.
“I thought you were being serious!” It was funny to see her like this. Pidge usually responded to him with either blankness or sarcasm, so it was satisfying to garner an actual reaction.
“I could have been!” Lance brought a hand up to rub his stinging forehead. “You do realize you never told Hunk and I your real name?”
“It’s Katie,” she said without preamble. The only sign of her unease was that, when Lance tried to sneak another look at her face, Pidge’s fingers held his head in place, before resuming movement in his hair.
“It’s nice to meet you, Katie.” He let out a soft snicker, which Pidge mirrored.
“Nice to meet you, Lance.”
Lance fell silent, letting her touch lull him into a torpor. The point of contact gave him something to concentrate outside of his thoughts of Earth, until the sensation and Pidge were all he could focus on.
“Did you fall asleep?” she asked after some time.
“No.” Lance slowly rose up from her lap. “I don’t know if I will be able to sleep tonight.”
Pidge frowned, looking down at her hands as Lance repositioned himself to sit at her side.
“You and I are more similar than I ever thought, I guess.”
“What, you also go crying around the castle at strange hours, hoping no one else will see?” She raised a brow at him in response. It wasn’t that much of a surprise, really. Lance had known how broken up she felt about her father and brother’s disappearance. “We will find them, Pidge. I won’t rest until we do.”
The emotion in her eyes shifted. He couldn’t really tell what Pidge was feeling, but the look on her face was both sad and warm, grateful even. Lance tried to think of a time when he or any of the others had tried to support her in her search. There might have been something said when she’d first revealed her identity, but nothing stood out since.
His chest tightened with the realization.
It was possible that Hunk or Allura had spoken to Pidge privately about it, and Lance would put good money on the odds that Shiro had comforted her more than once, but that was it. Keith was quiet and broody, too dedicated to their mission to consider what the rest of the team went through. And Lance…
Lance had been too self-involved to notice. He had wallowed in his own misfortune and it had blinded him to the fact that at least his family was safe in Cuba. Pidge’s father and brother were lost in the middle of an intergalactic war, taken prisoners. Her mother thought she was missing.
He didn’t feel like he deserved Pidge’s gratitude.
“Can you tell me something funny?” she asked out of the blue. “I don’t think talking about our families is gonna help either of us sleep tonight.”
Lance let out a shaky exhale. “You’re right. I’m all cried out.” He poked at the skin under his eyes. It felt sensitive and swollen. “All that investigating for good eye masks and the work was all for nothing!” He put his palm over his eyes, playfully turning his head to the side. “Don’t look at me! I’m a shadow of my former self!”
“You’re the resident beauty guru, I’m sure you’ll figure something out.” Pidge rolled her eyes at his theatrics. She pulled Lance’s hand away from his face. “And you owe me a story.”
“Hey, how do I owe you anything?” He pouted at her. “I just saved you from getting a crick on your neck!”
She pulled more harshly at his hand, making Lance yelp. “You woke me up and I even gave you a head massage!”
It was his turn to tug at her arm, but his smile betrayed that Lance was having fun. “Fine, but then we’re even!”
Pidge finally let go of him, looking smug. He closed his hand and pointed at her face in an act of mock aggravation.
“Is it okay if I lie down?” She looked around the room, as if searching for a hidden futon where she could stretch out.
“Sure, let me just…” He scooted down and to the side. Pidge maneuvered into the space he had created, stuck between him and the wall. “I don’t think these beds were made to be shared.” He laughed.
The position wasn’t the worst they could be in. Pidge was small enough that, with her back pressed to the wall, Lance had enough space in the mattress that he wouldn’t fall over.
“This feels like a sleepover.” Her face scrunched up at the words. He couldn’t tell if she was embarrassed or just amused by the idea. “I never had one of those before.”
“Never?” he marveled.
“No need to look that surprised,” Pidge huffed. “I just didn’t have a lot of friends growing up. Not anyone close, at least.”
“Just Matt,” Lance blurted out without thinking. A shadow crossed Pidge’s eyes, but she didn’t seem upset.
“Yeah… You would like him. Matt can be as much of a goofball as you are.” She nuzzled quietly into the pillow. The lights had dimmed automatically when they laid down, so Lance couldn’t tell if Pidge was blushing or not. “It helps, you know? Having you here.”
Pidge refused to catch his eyes as she said this, which Lance understood. Being vulnerable could be scary, even when around your best friends. Still, he felt pride well up in him, glad that he had done something right towards her.
“You wanted a funny story, right?” he asked softly, the words only loud enough to be heard. Pidge’s gaze snapped to his, obviously relieved. “How about this: My first love was this little girl I met when I was fourteen. I never even knew her name.”
“That’s not funny, not really.” Pidge’s brows took a quizzical air. “How do you know it was love, then?”
“I just know. When I think about her, about that day… It felt like fate.” He saw the cynicism on her face before Pidge could even say anything. “I swear! I met her and everything changed. I don’t know if I would have met Hunk or got into the Garrison or even made it here without her.”
Pidge sighed against the pillow. “Honestly, that sounds like a lot of pressure to put on a first love.”
Lance watched as she drew patterns into the sheets between them. She wasn’t trying to be mean, he could tell.
“She doesn’t know, obviously. I didn’t even like her straight away. It’s just –” he paused, thinking it through. “It’s just funny, how much of a difference one person can make. When she talked to me, I was feeling sorry for myself. She cheered me up.”
That same day, he had met Hunk, who had later confessed that he’d only approached Lance because he’d appeared to be in a good humor. Without Hunk, his best friend, Lance might not have tried out for the Garrison. And, without the Garrison, he wouldn’t have been in Arizona to find the Blue Lion.
“Is she why you are so obsessed with fate and such?” Pidge teased. She was yawning every few seconds, but there was a smile on her face.
“You shouldn’t knock fate down.” Lance grinned, trying to bat her hand away from the sheets. They had bunched up a bit due to her movements. “It got us into space and closer to your family.”
Pidge made a face at him, then shrugged. They’d had this conversation before, about what had led the three out into Garrison grounds that night. Pidge argued that it was bound to happen, with how often she went out to search the radio frequencies, but even that fell back into Lance’s claim that they were all destined to become the new paladins of Voltron.
“I just think that love is about commitment,” she murmured, eyes already closed. “It’s about choosing one person and then falling in love with him, even when he’s obnoxious, even when he’s…” She trailed off, having fallen asleep.
Lance chuckled at her little speech. It was nice to think that someone would eventually choose to love him, forever. He felt comforted not only by the idea, but by Pidge's slow breathing, the heat of her hand so close to his chest. His own lids felt heavier and heavier. Lance closed his eyes.

Tumblr media
The days were cold on the mysterious swampy planet, fortunately you had the Falcon, this big starship that was slowly becoming your home, its walls and circular halls seemed worn out yet that detail made them special for you. You were sure this old ship had witnessed a hundred stories.
And there was also Rey, bright as the sun.
It was strange how closer you two had become in so little time but you liked it, you loved to have her around, to take her hand. To kiss her.
This whole thing seemed too good to be true, for moments you thought it may be just a dream but you had realized a long time it was not. It was real, the planets, the star ships and aliens. All of it was real.
Rey was real.
“How long do we have to stay here?” you asked, leaned on a rock outside the Falcon as you watched the night sky full of stars, they looked so different up close and maybe it was because they weren’t the same stars you used to watch from the roof of your building back in your homeplanet.
“I’m not sure.” Rey told you, “Last contact with the General was at least a week ago, and she only said to hide.”
“And until we can contact the Resistance again, what?” you added.
“We wait.” she said unbothered or at least she tried to sound like she didn’t care to wait.
“So we just wait here forever?”
“If we have to.” She said before taking the last bite of her food. She seemed somehow upset about all this, there was sadness in her eyes that tried to avoid you and the stars above you. You knew this had something to do with her family, she mentioned before you arrived at Takodana, yet she had never spoken of it again.
“Rey, what happened to your family?” you asked. Her eyes met the cold ground as she prepared her words.
“They left me in Jakku.” She said, clearly struggling to say those words. “I thought they’d come back someday but... they never did.” she told you really seriously, you had never seen her this serious.
“You know what happened to them or where-” you said.
“If I’d known I would have left the desert a long time ago.” She cut you off. You both stay quiet for a minute, not really knowing what to say until you broke the strange silence between Rey and you.
“It must have been really rough to live all alone.” you tried to show her some sympathy but it clearly didn’t help much. Rey gave you a humorless chuckle before raising her voice again.
“You have no idea what it was like,” She said in a rather sad way, “to wake up everyday and work under the burning sun to have something to barely eat. What it was like to live with the only hope that someday someone will come for you.” she looked so sad talking about her past, this was a side of her you hadn’t seen and it only let you know that as strong as she looked she could be so vulnerable too and that she had always been alone, just like you.
“Nights were the worst.” Rey continued with her past. “I used to look at the sky and wonder where they were, why did they leave me .”
“I’m sorry, I shouldn't have asked.” you murmured sincerely reaching to take your hand in yours. Rey’s eyes met yours for the first time since this conversation started.
“At least I’m not alone this time.” She told you, giving a small squeeze to your hand as a tiny smile curved her lips.
“You’re right.” you said offering her a warm smile.
“I’ll try to contact the base. Hopefully we can get out of here soon.” She said already getting up. “You wanna come with me?” she asked.
“I think I’ll pass just this time, I want to see the stars a little longer.” you said admiring the bright stars painting the sky.
“Sure, but stay close, okay?” she said and you nodded. Rey leaned in to press a short kiss over your lips before disappearing inside the Falcon.
You stayed sitting on your place, just admiring the night sky, it calmed you and at the same time the simple sight of it excited you and the old question came back to your mind, “What’s out there?” but this time you knew for sure that there was something else, thousands of unknown planets that awaited for you to discover.
After a while you decided to explore the surroundings, you wanted to know more about this place. And so you took a nice calm walk through the swampy planet, or maybe not as calm as you expected.
The peaceful atmosphere suddenly faded away as you heard a voice that was definitely not there the day before, turning around you spotted a handful of soldiers, their white armor contrasting with the darkness of the night. Quickly hiding behind a tree, you listened carefully to the intruders.
“Affirmative, Sir.” One of them said to a small blue hologram on his gloved hand. “We found the Millenium Falcon.”
“Bring me the girl.” Said the hologram that showed a cloaked figure, his voice was deep and it scared you. You knew who he was referring to, he wanted Rey, this was probably the First Order Rey had talked to you about and therefore the man in the hologram was their leader.
“Right away, Sir.” The trooper said.
A shiver ran down your spine with fear, fear of what could happen to Rey if they captured her. You had to warn her about this. So slowly you tried to back away.
A branch cracking under your foot alerted the troopers who immediately turned their helmets in your direction.
“We found her, Sir.” Was the last thing you heard before one of them shot a weapon at you that made you fall unconscious to the ground.
*******
When your eyes fluttered open you found yourself in an unknown place, you didn’t recognize the strange place you were in but you were sure you weren’t in the swampy planet anymore because you could see the stars through the big windows in front of you.
From the corner of your eyes you caught a tall cloaked man watching you as if he’d been waiting for you to wake up. It was the same man you saw before in the hologram.
“What do you want from me?” you asked.
“From you? Nothing.” He said looking you up and down before taking a few steps away from you, his gaze turning to the big windows of the ship. “It’s incredible how incompetent these troopers are. They brought the wrong girl". he added.
You took your time to scan the room, it was almost empty except for the big black table surrounded by chairs identical to the one you were sitting in. But most important, there was only one big metal door.
One way in and only one way out.
“Then why are you keeping me here?” you raised your voice again.
“You’re just a bait for the scavenger.” The man looked over his shoulder. “You care for her, don’t you? I’ve seen it in your mind.” His words let you perplex, how could he know something like that? Did he just say he saw it in your mind? Apparently this man searched inside your mind while you were unconscious.
“And she cares for you too.” he turned around and walked close to you, a curious gaze on his face, a long scar crossed his face. “But I still don’t understand why you are so important to her.”
A strange sensation crossed your mind, an electric feeling that tickled inside your head and you had the feeling he was inside your mind.
“Oh.” he finally spoke. “An earth girl, you are from earth. I see why you’re so precious to Rey now. A little childish of her to believe in the legends about your people but tell me, have she asked for her wish yet?.”
You stayed silent looking at him with hate.
“Sir!” the door opened and a young man in black uniform appeared in the doorway, panic in his voice. “She’s here.”
The very next moment you saw a known figure stepping into the room. You recognized the silhouette cover in light clothing, the brown hair arranged in three little buns in the back of her head, you recognized those eyes.
It was Rey, and she looked not pleased to see this man as she held the laser sword in her hand.
Immediately as the man saw Rey, he pulled you from your seat, holding you close to him as he ignited his own strange sword made of a red light. He held it close to your neck, you could hear the way the saber buzzing in a dangerous way.
“Let her go, Kylo.” Rey spoke, anger on her voice. So that was the name of this man, Kylo.
“Join me and I’ll let her go.” Kylo growled, never losing his grip on his weapon. “Pledge yourself to my teaching and I swear nothing will ever happen to your precious Earth girl.”
You observed Rey thinking features, but she didn’t say a word.
“She’ll have everything she wants once I rule over the galaxy.” Kylo added and suddenly you realized his true, evil goals.
Rey’s eyes travel from his to yours, a sorry look on them. You knew she couldn’t accept, she would never and you understood, a bit afraid of what would happen next yet you accepted that it was better than Rey joining this rude skyscraper. You slightly nodded to her.
“No.” Rey said. “Never.”
An idea to escape Kylo's grasp crossed your mind in an instant and you hoped it would work, this man was by far stronger and taller than you but hopefully this would set you free.
“I’ll give you one last chance, Rey. Join me.” he said and just as he was about to speak again you punched the side of his body with your elbow, trying to use all your forces. Without knowing you hitted a wound that had not fully healed which made him grunt in pain, unconsciously letting go of you.
As soon as you were free of his grasp you rushed towards Rey but she ran towards the tall man whose saber was already aiming for you but instead was stopped by Rey’s blue saber.
The clash of the lightsabers soon filled the room as Rey and Kylo fought. The adrenaline rushed through your veins for the sudden battle in front of you, a fight to protect you, that was possibly the sweetest thing someone had done for you. However you wanted the fight to end, you didn’t want Rey to get hurt because of you but how could you help if you were just an earth girl?
No, you were much more than that. Maz had told you not to let the place you were from define you and she was right.
Taking the blaster from your waistband you removed the safety lock and aimed at Kylo but Rey’s body interfered in the way, you held your breath for a moment and stopped yourself from pulling the trigger. You hadn’t realized until that moment that your hands were shaking and your heart was racing really fast.
This was more difficult than you thought.
This was not like training with a rock but to shoot at a moving object trying no to hurt Rey in the way. You recalled the training but most important, you remembered Rey’s words: “You have to be sure when you pull the trigger, no time for doubts in battle, hold it steady.”
Sighed, aimed one more time at the big man who kept fighting against Rey, and concentrated you finally pulled the trigger.
The blaster hitted Kylo’s hand forcing him to drop his weapon.
“Rey! Come on!” you said running towards her and grabbing her hand to drag her out of the room, away from that man you already hated.
Rey and you ran through endless hallways of this big ship, never letting go of her hand. She seemed to know the way out, you assumed this was not the first time she had been inside one of these. You ran shooting a few troopers from time to time, you were becoming good at shooting, you raced down the hangar where you spotted the big old ship waiting for you.
“Did you see that? I never thought I could do that.” you said when you made it to the Falcon. “That was awesome, I mean, not that I almost died but that we could escape, we made a really good team, Rey”
She didn’t answer you at first, she was just so concentrated piloting the ship in the vast space, pulling levers and pushing buttons to get as far as possible from the big ship you had just left.
What an adventure.
“Well, where to now?” you giggled, letting yourself fall in the copilot seat.
“Earth” she said before pushing the lever and jumping into hyperspace.

prompt about kara figuring out she's bisexual while falling in love with lena? if you could write that it'd be incredible! ♡
Kara flew into Alex’s living room window and immediately flopped backwards onto the couch, neatly inserting herself between Alex and Maggie.
Maggie snorted into her scotch and Alex groaned.
“Seriously, Kara?” Alex asked, her beer now spilled down her front.
“Ooh, just take it off, Danvers,” Maggie winked, and it was Kara’s turn to groan.
Alex disentangled herself from her little sister and took her beer-stained shirt off, hopping onto her bed to find the sweatshirt she and Maggie had quickly disposed of and left on the floor the night before.
“Listen, you left your window open,” Kara explained, rolling over so she was hanging off of Maggie’s lap, head upside down as she watched Alex tug her Stanford sweatshirt over her head. “If you close your window, it’s like leaving a sock on your door. I won’t come in. Or at least, I’ll text first. But if you leave your window open, then it’s like you’re basically inviting me.”
Alex glared, but there was no heat behind it. Maggie adjusted Kara so she could find her phone, stashed somewhere in the couch cushions. “I’ll order potstickers, shall I, Little Danvers?”
“See?” Kara moaned in delight. “You’re girlfriend understands me.”
Alex threw a pillow from her bed at Kara’s face with alarming accuracy.
Kara laughed and Maggie held up her glass of scotch.
“Watch it, you two,” she shook her head.
“So what’s up, sis?” Alex trooped back to the couch, catching the pillow Kara launched back at her.
Kara heaved a sigh.
Alex knew – and so did Maggie, for that matter – that Kara letting herself be whiny and small and cute was a relief for her, a release valve. A way for her to step away from Supergirl and into Kara Danvers.
She was competent and she was intelligent beyond belief and she knew so much more about quantum mechanics than she would ever admit, because after her planet died (for the first time), she’d trained herself to never reveal how much she knew about the universe, because then someone would discover her and then and then and then…
So letting herself be ridiculous, be whiny, be the consummate annoying little sister on her big sister’s date night was…
A relief.
It also meant she was too stressed, too worried, to bear being strong.
So when Alex sat back down, she tugged Kara’s feet into her lap, letting Maggie play absently with Kara’s hair after she put down her scotch and went about ordering the entire left side of the menu from Kara’s favorite Chinese restaurant.
“Well?” she prompted again. “What’s going on?”
“I don’t know,” Kara said, her voice suddenly more like Supergirl’s. Maggie and Alex exchanged a quick glance.
“An extra three orders of potstickers it is,” Maggie said, and Kara smiled faintly. It was a good sign.
“I just have all these feelings,” Kara murmured, more like she was explaining to herself than to her big sisters.
“About?” Alex asked, tilting her head. Because she thought she knew – she and Maggie and James and Winn and even J’onn had good money on it – but they’d all been waiting for Kara to come to the realization herself, in her own time.
“About Lena,” Kara finally breathed.
“Okay,” Alex nodded, squeezing Kara’s knee. “That’s okay. I love you. Say more?”
“I don’t want to,” Kara whispered.
“That’s okay, too. Fleabag?” Alex asked, gesturing to the TV.
Kara nodded. Alex tossed one of the many throw blankets Maggie insisted on keeping on the couch Kara, and Maggie tucked in her shoulders while Alex burritoed her feet.
Kara practically purred. Alex and Maggie let her lay there, let her eat all their potstickers when the food arrived. Let her think and let her feel and let her process.
She was almost ready, but not quite yet.
+++
She had brunch with Lena the next morning. It was their regular Sunday brunch - because of course they had regular Sunday brunch - and Kara was shaking.
“It’s okay to be scared, Little Danvers,” Maggie promised her.
“It’s okay to feel whatever you’re feeling,” Alex nodded, careful to be as non-specific as she could.
Kara nodded and kissed them both on the cheek before she flew out the window and down to Earth.
To Lena.
Who was, of course, already seated at their brunch spot, at their specific brunch booth, two steaming mugs of coffee already ordered. She was leaning forward, her elbows on the table - a luxury for her, a novelty, Kara knew, because Lena Luthor had been raised to never even think about resting her elbows on the table - people watching intently, with a look of rare peace on her face.
It was beautiful. Lena was beautiful.
Kara tripped as she approached their booth.
Of damn course she did.
Lena stood immediately and opened her arms, which Kara knew was another novelty for her. Before Kara, it had only been Sam that Lena had been this affectionate with, this joyful.
And she and Sam had been…
Well, Kara tried to make like Elsa and conceal, not feel.
As she slipped into Lena’s arms, she could feel herself trembling, and was terrified she was failing.
She was always failing.
“Something’s wrong this morning,” Lena said, squinting slightly as she pulled back from their hug - Kara’s entire body keened from the loss - and examined Kara’s face closely as she held her by the shoulders.
Lena’s hand slid down Kara’s arm, then, and held her hand and she guided them to slide into their booth.
She didn’t let go of Kara’s hand, their fingers casually connected across the table.
Like Maggie sat with Alex.
Like James sat with Winn.
Like lovers sat.
Like Kara wanted to…
Oh Rao, not now. She had enough to deal with. She couldn’t risk losing Lena. She couldn’t risk…
Well, she wasn’t really sure what she was risking.
Everyone in her life was bi, was gay.
She’d just never thought about…
Well, there had been that fluttering in her stomach about Lucy Lane… and Cat Grant… but she’d just admired them, she’d just been infuriated by them…
She’d just loved them.
Oh, damn it all to hell.
“Nothing’s wrong,” she shook her head, but Lena’s eyes were perfect and her hand was warm and her lips looked…
Why was Kara looking at her lips?
She knew exactly why.
She hoped Lena hadn’t noticed at the same exact moment that she hoped Lena did notice.
She adjusted her glasses with her free hand, and tried not to notice - or imagine, because she had to be imagining it, right? - the fondness in Lena’s eyes at her nervous gesture.
“Nothing’s wrong, but something’s up,” Lena said, her voice gentle. Kara liked to think it was a very particular kind of gentle Lena only had for her.
That was the kind of thing lovers had.
Friends had it too, she supposed. No, she knew they did. But this... this felt different.
This was different.
But if it was different, if she said it was different, then it would change, then it would be ruined.
Then she would lose it all.
Again.
Like she always did.
With everything.
Everything except Alex, and even that had changed. Sure, she’d gained a new big sister after a rocky start, and it was wonderful, but it was also different, and...
She didn’t know if she could handle more different.
But she wanted more. Or, not more, maybe that wasn’t the right word. She wanted something different. With Lena.
And it was terrifying.
“Wouyouwagodinwme?” Kara blurted, her face hotter than it had been since the last time she’d blown out her powers with overloading her heat vision.
“Come again, dear?” Lena asked, smiling but not quite laughing at her, because Lena laughed with her, but never at her.
Kara gulped, because there wasn’t really much going back now.
She thought of Alex, and she thought of Maggie, and James and Winn and J’onn’s proud smile when Alex had come out to the crew.
“Would you want to. Go to dinner with me.”
Lena’s eyes widened, then closed, then opened, then closed. Her mouth went on a similar journey, and Rao did Kara want to kiss her.
“We haven’t even had brunch yet, darling, but you know your stomach better than anyone, so I’m sure they wouldn’t mind if we just ate our way through to dinner time.”
Darling. She’d called her darling.
Lena did that, sometimes.
Her face always went red right afterward, like it had now.
Kara dared to hope. She gulped again, and she put her other hand on Lena’s.
Tentative, but brave.
Scared, terrified, but sure.
“I didn’t mean because I’m hungry.” Her stomach, of course, chose that very moment to growl. The traitor. “I mean, I’m always hungry.” Lena squeezed her hands, a smile tugging at her lips. But Kara had rarely seen her eyes so intense. And Lena was, to say the least, a very intense person.
“I mean, I’m always hungry, but I didn’t mean... I meant. Do you... it’s okay if you don’t, I love being your friend, I really do, of course I do. But when I said do you want to have dinner, I meant, if you wanted to. Um.”
Lena’s eyes were steady and shining and maybe just a little bit hopeful and Kara could carry a plane and barely break a sweat, how could she possibly find it this hard to come out at the same time as she was asking out the most beautiful woman she’d ever known?
Well, maybe when she put it like that, carrying a plane was easier.
“Kara Danvers,” Lena decided to swoop in and save Supergirl’s day. “Are you asking me on a date? Because if you are, the answer is a resounding yes. If you’re not, well, I’m sure there are plenty of caves I can go hide in for the next thousand -”
“Yes. Yes, I was, and yes, I - really? You’d want - to - you - with me?”
“Yes,” Lena said, and her voice dropped in a way that did things to Kara’s entire body. “Yes, I want to. Yes, with you. I was terrified you didn’t feel the same way. That you weren’t even into women.”
Kara pffted. “I was terrified you didn’t feel the same way! And I think now would be the time Maggie would say something like, ‘oh please, have you seen the way Kid Danvers dresses?’”
Lena laughed, and it was music and it was perfect. She brought Kara’s hands up to her mouth, and she was extremely grateful that spontaneous combustion wasn’t actually a thing, because if it were, the feeling on Lena’s lips on her knuckles would have...
“I would be honored to go on a date with you, Kara. Many dates. A lot of dates. So many dates.”
Lena Luthor was... rambling.
Oh. Oh. Oh.
She really did like Kara back.
Her smile was suddenly megawatt, and it was her turn to kiss Lena’s hands.
“Pancakes?” she asked.
“I already ordered three stacks,” Lena smiled, and Kara nearly took flight then and there.
But, for once, not to fly away from anything. To just be... ecstatic. To celebrate. For the sheer joy of flying, of... of living.
She’d definitely have to see how Lena felt about flying later. Though maybe that was a third date kind of thing.
And apparently, Lena wanted to go on many dates with her.
When their food arrived, pancakes had never tasted sweeter.

My first GoChi prompt~
Dragon ball AU - Chichi x Goku
Tumblr media
Prompt:
Besides just being a delinquent example to our sons sometimes... I feel Goku really does say some of the most kindest things.
Well, you wouldn’t believe me unless I gave you an example, right? Haha! Guessed right!
It all started on a sunny day when Goku and I went on a drive~
Chichi’s lips are flapping at the wind pressure blasting her back against the passenger’s seat as Goku wildly drives in odd zig-zags that look dangerously close to causing a serious accident.
“Goku! Other way! No, that way!” - “Which way was the lake, Chichi? All this turning is making me dizzy! Haha!” - “You blockhead, watch out for the trees!”
Goku smiled and closed his eyes, exercising his arm in a happy-go-lucky expression as he rotated it to the side of him. “No worries, Chichi! I’ll just knock it out of the way if it comes too close.”
“You’re the one coming close and we will not be punching our neighbors trees!” She gripped the sides of the car, wondering why on earth she spent the last of their savings on getting a car that could retract it’s top down.
In all honesty, she thought that with her boys getting so big, and with Goku consistently wrecking things... she just wanted something less expensive so if he broke it, she wouldn’t worry too much about the cost of fixing it.
“Oh, oh!” she had slacken back down in her seat with a sigh at her poor, grandmother nerves now before excitedly standing up in the car and removing her seatbelt, pointing cheerily to the lakeside. “That’s it! That’s where they saw the giant fish!”
“Ohh, really?” Goku leaned his head to see over her better. “Wow..! I can’t believe our fights created such big craters! And after all so long, they’ve turned into giant lakesides!”
Chichi beamed a grin to him, but kept back her shaky comment with a bead of sweat dripping down her face. “Heh...heheh... yeah... world-destructive battles are just great on a planet that can survive practically extinction.” she muttered to herself, but still leaned her head out as Goku pulled over but braked too hard and she went flying out.
“Ah! Chichi!” He flew out of the car, basically teleporting, and caught a leg as her face still planted against the ground. “Are you okay..?” He pulled her up as she looked a bit exhausted by the endeavor of ever having a ‘nice quiet drive’ with her family.
“I’m fine~” she groaned out, but Goku politely hoisted her up on his shoulder, steadying her there. “Sorry, Chichi. I guess even though I don’t crash anymore, I still gotta work on my aim. Adjusting my power is getting a bit tougher recently with all the special training I’ve been doing. It makes it harder to see and spend time with you too.” He tilted his head with yet another kind smile.
Chichi looked down, some dirt still on her face, but smiling at his sincerity with love.
Don’t think that’s the best he can do, now! My Goku has gotten a lot more sweeter over the years too~ I remember when he first came back from being dead, it was late in the night and I was worried about so many things… Goku didn’t hesitate to give me a sign of his affections though… although I would have rather flowers but giant snapping dragons with ribbons on them were a decent second to say the least!
Well, my memory can be faulty at times. But there’s been many times I’ve felt like the strongest man in the world’s wife! Let’s continue with some of his more, charminger, moments~
Goku set Chichi down as she started setting up a picnic, looking over at him as she spread out the blanket and wondering what he was thinking about, seeing him grip his belt and look out over the water with a serious expression all of a sudden…
He wasn’t one to really contemplate that hard, at least, unless something was seriously wrong. Pricking at her heart strings, she wondered if there was something he wasn’t telling her again… Maybe another giant battle was coming… or maybe he was just hungry?
“If you stare at the lake too long, you’ll never find those fish.” Chichi teased, sitting elegantly on her knees and with her hands in her lap. “Hehe~ You can’t watch a clock either, we’ll bring plenty back for the family dinner! Ah~ It’s been so long since I’ve cooked for everyone! I’m thrilled that unnaturally alien fish have been growing here so we can clean the environment but also have a lovely meal with the family!” She wasn’t expecting that turnout, but if it meant more time to be a ‘normal’ family, she was willing to prepare at whatever cost to make it happen!
Goku just lowered his head, still thinking…
‘Now that is strange,’ Chichi pouted her lips and blinked a few times in confusion, ‘Normally, I can read him pretty well.’ she tilted her head, “Goku? Is something wrong?”
“Emm… Nothing’s wrong, Chichi, just thinking.” Goku looked back at her and gave her yet another open-mouthed, goofy grin. He put his hand behind his head, laughing, “Just thinking about the lake and the sky, is all!”
“Oh? That sounds rather admiring of you.” She wasn’t quite aware that he took time to enjoy the nature and scenery around him. “What’s so special about it? Doesn’t it look just like any lake and sky?”
“...Well… It probably will sound stupid.” He raised his head up, and she knew this was going to be riot. Whatever it was, she giggled sweetly and nodded to him.
“Alright, you big lug, tell me what’s so stupid.” She encouraged, with her own flavor of sweetness. She eyed him tenderly as he looked back at her, and looking into each one of her eyes, lowered his raised hand and itched his nose, as though playing demure.
“Ah, it’s nothing. Really, Chichi.”
“Oh, don’t start that!” Chichi patted the ground by the blanket. “I don’t care what anyone says, you’re not a fool who can’t have his own opinions and thoughts! Even if you aren’t very well educated, you still know the most important lesson in life!”
Her ‘matter-of-factly’ spoken words intrigued him, as he came to hover over to her and then plopped down quite swiftly. His action made wind whirl up and she had to adjust her hair and keep herself seated--”Oh!” she caught herself from being gusted away, but continued to smile like a doting wife.
“But, Chichi… you call me dumb sometimes.” He mentioned innocently.
“I call you a dumb sweetheart.” She stuck her nose up in the air, as though defiant.
“H-how’s that any different?” He looked nervous saying that, but she pinched his cheek and watched him flail a bit in her grasp. “A-ah-wah! Chichi, that hurts!”
“Because I’m your wife, that’s why!” she released her cruel hold on him and then scooted closer to him, cuddling up and leaning on his large, muscled chest. “Now then~” She went back to being her own personal brand of affectionate. “What’s so great about the sky and sea that it takes your attention away from your adorable wife?” she cooed.
“Uhh… the fact that it reminds me of you, I guess.” He relaxed and leaned back, letting her lean on him and holding them both up with his arms keeping them from both falling back. “The sea reflects the sky… or does the sky reflect the blue of the sea?” he wondered, “The lake is so small, kinda like an eyeball.” He then looked down at Chichi, seeing her intently listening to him, her eyes looking up to him. “If I’m the sky, then I can see my reflection in your eyes, Chichi.” He commented, but then looked away as her eyes began to twinkle as though he had swept her off her feet. “But then… doesn’t that mean I reflect you in me? The sky has clouds, which are parts of the sea. Does that mean… even though I don’t know if you can see me in you, that there’s still a piece of you that’s always with me?”
“Oh, Goku!!!~” Chichi charged into him in a tight embrace, almost pushing him back if it weren’t for how his arm was like a steel beam, and wouldn’t knock him over no matter how hard she tried.
“W-woah, Chichi! Are you mad?” he kept one hand extended out and away from her, mostly due to surprise and confusion.
“No, you silly idiot!” she had tears in her eyes, “I just love you so much, you goof!” she tried to hold back her tears but he just blinked down at her.
Then, a smile slowly swept over his face and he sat up, sitting indian-style and embracing her tenderly back, careful to not hold her too tightly.
“I love you too, Chichi.”
And now, you’re all jealous of how good My Goku is!~<3 Well, admit it! He’s the best husband in the world! We did end up catching some giant and ugly alien invading fish, but they and their eggs sure did taste good at our family dinner~
Goku once told me he had thought back to the first day we met… okay, fine, I gave him a friendly knock on the head for him to think harder about that time, and he finally told me how he really was glad he met someone like me. I asked if he had met any other girl he may have married if she had been more adamant about it like I was… I was,... ehem, going through a bit of a phase--but Goku has always held me close, and said the same thing.
“No matter what, I love you, Chichi.”
Now here’s your tissues, cause that’s what love is, people!!! And none of you are ever taking my Goku, or our beautiful family, away from me~
Goku and his family pose for a group picture, and right before the flash and while Goku was leaning down over Chichi’s shoulder to throw up a ‘peace sign’ and grin widely, Chichi jumped up and kissed his cheek.
His face was priceless, a look of innocent surprise, which she framed in her kitchen. Now, whenever she cooks, she opens the window and looks out over the sky… she always gets sad if there aren’t any clouds… but remembers how Goku sees the world… that in her eyes, he’ll always be there, smiling back and saying, “I love you, Chichi.”

The 100 Disturbances in the Force (a Bellarke/Reylo AU/crossover/something)
A/N Fuck JJ Abrams and Jason Rothenberg. I’m fixing this shit in the only way I know how. I am not a fiction writer, I’m just really pissed off so this is happening.
We’re diverging from shortly after Ben’s "death” in TROS and shortly after Clarke’s left alone after everyone’s transcendence when she’s back on earth. I have not actually watched the last episode and I don’t even care. So whatever I get wrong about the setting, just go with it. JJ and JR had no logical consistency so I don’t have to either.
Also Picasso transcended because all dogs go to heaven. Fuck you, JRoth.
[tw: a bit of suicidal thoughts but nothing explicit]
I haven’t even reread this. It’s almost 2 AM I’m posting without any fixing just to see if anyone likes the idea and if I should keep going with it. 🤷🏻‍♀️
----
As Clarke looked out over the earth, she can’t help but think back to her words from so long ago. It’s like we were never here.
Then reality begins to sink in.
She’s alone.
Again.
But this time no one is coming back. There’s no one above or below her - they’re just… gone.
Feeling completely numb, she heads down into the bunker. She’s tired… she’s just so, so tired. Maybe she’ll go to sleep and never wake up. Maybe she’ll wake up and it’ll all have been a dream.
Either way she’ll find out in the morning. Or night. Or whenever she wakes up.
As she heads into the bunker, she finds something unexpected -  a Bardoan helmet. Putting in on, she laughs as she realizes it still works. What’s the point? she thinks No one’s out there to find.
But something in the back of her mind whispers that she needs to take it.
Collapsing into the first thing that resembles a bed, she falls into a dreamless sleep.
When she wakes up, it dawns on her that this isn’t a dream. This is her life now.
Damnit. It was real. It was all real.
That stupid helmet stares at her, almost as if it’s mocking her. You can go wherever you want! But you’re alone in the universe.
Putting it on, she notices a planet that she’d never seen before. It was… unmarked, but that little voice she heard before told her that that was where she needed to go.
Why the hell not? What do I have to lose?
And just like that, the anomaly opened and she practically leapt through.
This wasn’t like the other trips. Before, it had felt like stepping into one doorway and out another. This… this felt like she had stepped out of a doorway and into an ocean - only one she could breathe in. It was almost peaceful, until suddenly it felt like her body was being violently ripped apart. Then, she really IS falling.
THUMP.
What the fuck?
The anomaly had dropped her face first into ground - cracking the helmet and leaving it broken. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
Ripping off the helmet, she tried to get her bearings. She wasn’t hurt, exactly - well, nothing she couldn’t handle. But now she was stuck here - wherever here was.
Where the hell am I? Nakara? No.. no mountains.
Then suddenly she hears it - a voice. Be with me. Be with me. Be with me.
Clarke is sure she’s dead or unconscious now. The voice sounded human, but there were no humans left. She was the last of the human race.
Oh, the irony.
Be with me. Be with me.
Yes, it was definitely a human voice. Young, broken - the sound far too familiar for Clarke’s ears. Maybe this is one last sick joke from Bardo.
Walking towards the voice, she finds a young brunette in odd unusual clothing clutching a black sweater and sobbing.
“Hello?” Clarke called out rather quietly, not wanting to scare her. It didn’t work.
Out of nowhere, the girl - woman? - leapt to her feet and pulled something out that immediately began to glow and hiss.
What the actual FUCK is that?
Clarke knew danger even if she didn’t know what the hell the woman was holding.
Who are you? the woman - Clarke thought they must’ve been around the same age - yelled at her.
Does she… have a British accent? What the hell kind of fever dream is this?
“My name is Clarke. Please, I mean you no harm. What’s your name?”
The woman’s face scrunched slightly, like she was concentrating, and Clarke began to feel something poke at her brain. What? But the woman began to relax so Clarke didn’t question it.
I’m Rey. Who are you here with? Where are you from?
“No one. I’m from Earth and I’m alone… everyone I love is gone. I’m — I’m alone.” It’s the first time she’s said the words out loud and her voice breaks as the reality of everything crashes over her. She won’t break. Clarke Griffin doesn’t break.
Never heard of Earth. Rey puts away her weapon - seriously, what the fuck WAS that thing? - and visibly relaxes.
How did you get here? When did you get here? You feel… strange in the force. Like you don’t belong here.
“The force? What? I… uh… came through the anomaly. It’s a long story.” Clarke doesn’t even know where to begin, and luckily Rey seems to believe her. Holding up the helmet, Clarke explains as best as she can that it’s a computer that opens up a rift in space that people can travel through. It sounded ridiculous, even to her ears.
“But the helmet’s broken now so I’m kind of… stuck here.”
I might be able to help you fix it if you like.
Clarke’s immediate reaction is relief, but when she thinks about it - what is there to return to? Everyone she knows is gone. Every single one.
“Like I said, everyone I’ve ever loved is gone. There’s nothing for me to go back to.”
I know the feeling. Come on, you can come with me. It’ll be cramped but better than staying here.
Clarke just nods. Maybe this is a dream. Maybe it’s death. Maybe it’s just more of the test. Either way, she was too numb to do anything other than play along.
Clarke watches as Rey gathers up the clothes. Huh. It’s not just the sweater… it’s a whole outfit. That’s strange. Rey clings to the clothes like they’re the most precious things in the universe.
Maybe they are. Something about holding them makes Rey look smaller - younger, more vulnerable.
I — Clarke cuts her off once she’s visibly struggling for words.
“It’s OK. You don’t have to tell me. I know what it’s like to lose someone.”
Ok, let’s go. And with that, Rey begins to walk away.
Clarke doesn’t bother to question where they’re going. Anywhere has to be better than where she’s coming from.
A few minutes later, they come across what looks like a small airplane. She’d seen these in older films and always kind of wondered what it would be like to fly in one.
Rey motions for her to climb in. She wasn’t lying - this is clearly a ship built for one person; but, they make it work.
I’m not… I’m not sure where to go. I don’t have a home anywhere and the only person I loved is gone.
“I know the feeling…”
Rey seems to get an idea and punches a code into a panel with symbols Clarke can’t even begin to understand.
Ready?
Clarke nods and off they go.

Thoughts on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D series finale
********AOS SERIES FINALE SPOILERS AHEAD*********
********AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D SERIES FINALE SPOILERS AHEAD*********
*******SERIOUSLY. IF YOU DON’T WANNA BE SPOILED STOP READING NOW********
You were warned.
Okay. So Agents of Shield is finished.
On the first watch I won’t lie, I was REALLY conflicted and bothered by the ending. I really couldn’t understand why they chose to go that route and I ended up pacing my house for like 30mins. However, after a couple hours of mulling it over, a rewatch and a nap. I understand why they ended it the way they did and actually have a newfound respect and maybe even love for the ending.
I know on first watch seeing everyone (especially May and Daisy) separated and alone initially feels depressing and possibly like the last 7 years of building this family was redundant, but if you look closer, it wasn’t...at all.
When we first met May, she wasn’t just alone, she was broken and self-isolated from everyone that she cared about and who cared about her. After the events of Bahrain, she closed herself down and became a shell of herself while her guilt and self-loathing threatened to eat her alive. The May we see in the final 3 episodes is so incredibly far from that. When Daisy throws Bahrain in her face in s2, the self loathing is still very present and she still can barely speak on it, she still feels like a monster for what happened and she retreats away from the team (to a degree) and back into herself. This reaction is so different to when Kora throws Bahrain in her face in 7x11. May is at a point where she fully realizes she wasn’t the monster in that story, she did what she did to save the innocent, and that at her very core is who she is, a protector of the innocent and those who can't protect themselves. And like she tells Kora, she’s “made peace with it”. In the last scene with May, yes there is a sadness that the team isn’t all together, but she’s not broken, unhappy or even alone. She’s found a new calling teaching at an Academy named after Coulson which upholds his legacy. She’s jovial when Flint comes and she laughs and jokes. It's so far removed from s1 May. Before Bahrain, May wanted kids and even when she was trying to save Katya, you could tell that she cared about kids a lot, this echoes to her protectiveness over the bus kids, and also extends into the Framework where kids being in danger was the thing that kinda brought her back to herself, and then also Robin, who she becomes a mother to. This is where the best of May comes out, she’s a mentor and a protector and in her last scene we see her happily being that to Flint and other students. So it’s full circle, she’s physically away from the team but not holed up alone in a cubicle in pain. She’s healed over these past several years and found a new purpose for her life, and her Shield family and time with them gave her that and made that possible.
The same with Daisy. When we meet her she is truly alone, she’s grown up alone, has nobody, she’s living in a van, she doesn’t even know her real name or date of birth, she’s searching for her family and searching for an identity and purpose. Throughout the last 7 seasons she’s found all of that and more. In this ending, like May, she’s not with the team, but she’s not truly without it either. She’s still in Shield, still doing missions, still in contact with the team, she still has them. If something goes wrong, there isn’t a doubt in my mind that they will come running as they always have, but after several years of fighting Hydra, Inhumans, ghosts, demons, LMDs, aliens, Chronicoms, being stranded on alien planets or at the bottom of the sea, being thrown into the future and then into the past, being mutilated or killed and resurrected or not, they all deserve some reprieve. They also can’t live under each other forever and they all deserve to actually live their lives. At the beginning of the series Daisy was lost and she didn’t know who she was, by the end neither of those are true anymore. She’s found her calling, she’s found family, she’s found relatives, she’s even found love. And now It’s like she’s paying it forward. Someone found her and gave her love, home, family and solid ground and now she’s doing the same for others (namely Daniel and Kora). Everything really goes back to the conversation her and Mack had where he tells her that even if the team dynamic shifts, it's okay and she’ll be okay. In real families we don’t all stay under the same roof forever, we branch out, take jobs in other cities or countries and start families of our own, but it doesn’t negate our original family and I don't think this ending does either. It doesn’t mean found families hold less weight than blood families, because with family (the people you’ve chosen to love and have chosen to love you back, blood or not), even when you’re not around them 24/7, distance and time change nothing. Based on the group conversation, they clearly have been in contact and will continue to be, Jemma saying she’ll email Daisy later about something they had earlier discussed, Mack and Yoyo still being together even though they’re on mission in different places at the moment, May telling Mack she has some names of recruits to send him, Coulson telling Daisy to give him a call once she gets back to Earth etc. It's not that they’re not family anymore or that they’re only gonna contact or see each other once a year, their life choices just have them spread out and busy, but they’re still family. Jemma saying they need to do the group meeting annually doesn’t mean it has to only happen once a year, nor does it mean they won’t interact individually whenever they can, it just means that despite how busy life gets they need to make sure they as a whole group isolate some time to be together however they can. That is the most family thing ever. Throughout the year ppl are busy and you see each other but not everyone together at the same time, but then you have something like Thanksgiving or Christmas where everyone makes it their business to find themselves under the same roof for a day. It feels like the same concept applies here. It only feels sad right now because it's new, but after a while it will be normal. They’ve spent the better part of a decade living under the same roof and now they’re not even on the same planet all the time, it's a weird adjustment, but they will adjust.
As far as Philinda goes. Philinda has been my AoS OTP since season 1 and while I was kinda sad initially that they didn’t end together, I get it. Phil is dead and PhilLMD is just that, an LMD. A robot. He’s not real and as such, while still having Philinda scenes makes me happy, I don’t think I want May to have to settle for a robot no matter how advanced. It’s not fair. Especially with her being an empath now, every time she touches Phil it's a reminder that he’s not real. He can’t grow old with her or be truly intimate because everything about him is coded into him. She deserves the chance and the space to move on and find something real with someone real and him being around her all the time would prevent that because she loves Phil, even though he’s not really here anymore. Phil was ready to go in season 5 as he felt like he had already been given a second chance and didn’t want to be greedy, which is why he didn’t seek out the cure in space. LMD!Phil who works solely off of Phil’s memories and feelings is echoing the same sentiments by contemplating shutting down. It's not fair for May to let herself explore this any deeper (especially now being an empath as she feels things more deeply), only for him to decide to shut down leaving her again, and it's not fair for them to explore this and him to force himself to stay operative until she dies as to not hurt her again, even though his Phil coding is telling him it's time to go. I feel like once everyone is comfortably settled into their new lives and he knows they’re all truly okay, he’ll shut down for good, until then he’s just around in case they need him.
I don’t think I need to speak too much on Fitzsimmons or Mackelena. With everything Fitz and Simmons have endured over the last 7 seasons, retirement (not sure if Simmons is fully retired too) seems beyond reasonable. We’ve watched them lose each other or themselves in one way or another every season, and like everyone else on the team they kept coming back for more when it would’ve been easier to walk away and most probably would have. But they're not most people, they are a family and refused to abandon the team while it was in need. So this ending with their super cute kid is just very deserved and great to see. Mackelena. I love that they’re still agents. I was also initially surprised Mack was still an agent as he seemed like the most likely to leave a couple seasons ago. Maybe the Adventures of Mack and The D gave him a new outlook, realizing that there are so many out there who want to and will do good if given the space and opportunity to. I also love that Piper asked for a Davis LMD and that he and Piper can argue like old times. I thought that was kinda cute.
Overall, I feel like this moment was necessary. Change sucks, but it's necessary for growth. I also think the messaging is great and applies to the cast, the fans and just the world in general. Change isn’t bad, people come into our lives for seasons and they teach us, love us, heal us and sometimes leave us, but that’s not the end. There are new people and new adventures waiting, and the same way people come into your lives for a reason, we also are destined to go into other people's lives and be that person who teaches, loves and heals them the way someone did for us. It’s a cycle. And that's one of the ways the world moves forward and gets better. Good people bringing out the best in other people, who move on to bring out the best in other people, creating more and more good people. Philindaisy will always hold the most special place in my heart in this show. Phil found May in her cubicle and Daisy in her van, and the three of them saved each other in so many ways and gave each other everything they needed as well unconditional, unwavering love and support which helped them move beyond their past traumas to the point where they were mentally healthy and strong enough to not just have the family they formed with each other, but also form their own families outside of the original family unit and do the same for others. That in itself is beautiful. This is the end of this particular part of their journey, but in no way do I think it's the end of the family that they all formed over the last 7 years, because you don’t go through all they went through and then just feel nothing. They will forever be a part of each other and they will forever pull from the lessons, experiences and love they have for and gave each other. And that’s life, and also what I’m taking away from this show.
