The event consists of seven regular posting days, for which there are be two distinct but easily relatable prompts per day, and two sets of alternate prompts with five prompts each (one is for regular prompts and the other is for "whump" tropes). On top of that there will be two extra days for you to post your works right at the end of the week (you can post the very first chapter of your work on either day and then finish it some other time, no problem!). You can also mix and otherwise use prompts however way you want: maybe you want to go about it the traditional way and pick one prompt for each day, or close to it and only switch one of them for an alternate; or you can take a Day 5 prompt, a regular alternate, and cap it off with a whump trope and post that for Day 1. Ah, my beloved @lordoftherazzles has been such a good friend and has sent me this lovely prompt.

Now, evidently, Razzy is queen of Bagginshield (and firefly scenes) but I hope that this might make her smile nonetheless...

Bilbo swatted the fragrant air swirling around him lazily as if he could dispel the oppressive heat by simply waving it aside like an unwelcome relative out to get his best silverware.

Just within arm’s reach of him, Thorin hummed happily, utterly lost in thought.

Pressing his lips together to hold his smirk at bay, Bilbo decided not to harp on the fact that he had been right when he had claimed that Thorin needed a holiday.

"Dear," he had said in his most serious and convincing tone, "the mountain is wonderful, but wouldn't you like to spend at least part of the summer in a place where you can actually feel the sun on your skin?"

If he was completely honest though, his motives had been much less pure and selfless than his stubborn pride made him pretend.

As a matter of fact, he had lately started to desperately miss the Shire—as the warmer months rolled around, he yearned to see the fields scintillate in the glaring light and smell the complex perfume of the wildflowers behind his house.

Only, he knew that not even the most perfect summer evening in his childhood paradise would feel like home without that brave, strong, and endearingly awkward dwarven king of his.

To his surprise and relief, Thorin had not grumbled or argued overmuch but had willingly handed over the reins of his kingdom to his nephews and packed a much too heavy bag right away as if he had only been waiting for Bilbo to say the word.

"We should go in," Bilbo now murmured languidly as the penumbra behind his lids grew deeper and darker—the sun was going down in a halo of blood and he expected his beloved to hanker after a quick bath and a tankard of ale before dinner.

"Not yet," Thorin replied, his voice much clearer than Bilbo had expected it to be.

Alarmed, the hobbit sat up abruptly. "What is the matter?" he asked in a tremulous voice.

In his mind, various horror scenarios sprang to life, jostling one another in their race to Bilbo's frantically beating heart.

What if Thorin had only pretended to be at ease here for his sake and—in his heart of hearts—he hated the indolent, sometimes outright lazy days a proper hobbit could while away, lying in the grass and eating sun-sweetened berries all afternoon long?

Even worse, what if he had espied the black wings of a terrible messenger sent from the Mountain that had hastened here to recall them to their duties?

Bilbo swallowed and turned to the one he had loved so dearly for so long in tense expectation of a new catastrophe, his ears and nose twitching in alarm, ready to pick up on the slightest indication of a threat.

"Look Bilbo," Thorin whispered hoarsely and pointed a finger at the nearby bushes that had shielded their frequent exchanges of tender kisses—sticky with fruit juice and sweat—throughout the day.

Like dancing stars lighting up the nascent darkness, fireflies were swarming among the branches merrily.

It was a sight that warmed Bilbo's heart as it reminded him of the carefree, endless days of his childhood and youth.

Nevertheless, he could not recall ever having been so visibly overwhelmed or overjoyed by the spectacle as Thorin now appeared to be.

"They are like specks of gold and shards of precious gems," the dwarven king breathed, awe ringing in every word. “It’s been so long since last such a blessing was granted to me…thank you for reminding me, yet again, of these simple but invaluable pleasures.”

As he regarded his sapphire-eyed lover and brushed a chubby hand down the filaments of pure silver streaking Thorin's proud mane, Bilbo could only sigh in agreement.

"The wonders of the outside world," he chuckled softly. "I am glad that I got to share this moment with you."

His previous fears kept gnawing at the edges of his mind though and so, after another few minutes of contemplative silence, he finally burst out with the question that tortured him so.

"Why did you agree to come? Many are those who have tried to lure you from your throne without much success. Are you feeling quite all right?"

Waving a hand at the tireless flight of their twinkling visitors, Thorin shrugged sheepishly.

Grabbing Bilbo's chin between his strong index and thumb, he then bent forward to press a passionate kiss on those soft, cheeky lips.

"I heeded your demand," he then replied simply and soberly, "because you are my miracle of the outside world. And I'd not miss a second of it."

“Now, you’re going to call as soon as you get there, yes?” Belladonna’s motherly voice practically echoed, the words (and the answer she wanted to hear), embedding itself into both Thorin and Bilbo’s brains. She was loving, but stern, even if her son was grown, as was his significant other. That didn’t stop Bilbo from sighing like a mildly inconvenienced teenager. “Yes, we will call,” he assured her with a roll of his eyes, but as those hazels landed on his shorter mother tugging on Thorin’s shoulder to get him to drop some while she did what she always did to Bilbo–pressed a kiss to his temple–he couldn’t help but grin. At least right up until she beckoned for her son to receive the same treatment. “Will I ever grow out of this?” “No,” Belladonna chided while being extra annoying with the kiss she placed on her son’s head. “It’s for good luck, and you’ll miss those kisses when I’m gone.” “Well, we need all the luck we can get,” Thorin readily agreed, his own grin was wide, and his enthusiasm had been skyrocketing to the moon as this day crept closer and closer. It was hard to not be excited, it was everything he had wanted. This moment should have happened long ago, but fate just hadn’t been kind to Durin’s Desolation at the time. Now, not only for themselves, but for Frerin and Thrain, they were going to do this.

for anyone curious what I’ve been up to: in the post-holiday weeks, I have marathoned The Hobbit trilogy at least four times, starting on on my fifth. “Oh,” you may ask, “I hadn’t realized you liked it. are you enjoying the rewatch? Is it fun?”

My friends. My foes. I am using it as glorified background noise while I crochet like a FIEND because I own so much yarn. Genuinely, acquire yarn, crochet hook, stitch markers (for the sake of yourself, if you’re getting into yarn crafts, buy stitch markers, you do not know how good life can be until you have them), and like. I can make anything. The world (Ravelry) is my oyster.

So yeah, I’ve been expediting my carpal tunnel diagnosis, listing to The Hobbit trilogy, and fully checking the fuck out for like six hours straight. It’s a good time.

Within the past 72 hours the TGM fandom got a fire put under it's ass, for lack of a better term/phrase. Even though I'm not as active in the fandom anymore, it did make me want to talk about a few things. This isn't the first time that I've had to make a post similar to this, usually speaking about reblogs and keeping your fanfic writers feeling wanted within the fandom spaces, but today I'm going to talk more about fandom etiquette and my experiences in fandom spaces. So, if you want to hear my opinion on fandom etiquette, how I learned fandom etiquette, and my thoughts about the doxing situation that has happened, keep on reading.

My Fandom Experience.

The first fandom that I was ever a part of was The Hunger Games fandom in the 8th grade (if you don't include my anime fandoms). I was 12-13 at the time. This was when I was first introduced to Tumblr and being involved within a fandom online. At the time I was super young, barely even knew who I was as a person, let alone in a fandom space. All I did was reblog little gifsets and fawn over Josh Hutcherson. I remember getting my first hate anon, even though I didn't do anything that would generate that to even happen. Even when I was 12-13, I couldn't understand why anyone would send a hate anon. That was when I found out a friend of mine found my Tumblr and actually secretly hated me, so she sent me hate anons. Still, before I knew it was her I didn't understand.

Fandoms were a formative part of my childhood. I think that main one that helped form me though was the Supernatural (yeah, I know, eye roll), Naruto, and The Hobbit fandoms. I had made friends on Tumblr and Instagram through these fandoms. During these times was when I had first started consuming fanfiction. Specifically, destiel and thilbo fanfiction. This is how I started to find the things in fanfiction that I loved, and the things that I hated. Instead of sending hate to the writers for their thoughts and stories that I didn't agree with, I would back out of the story or just scroll past. Not only that, I also started to use the filters on AO3 constantly, ensuring that I was only reading the fics that I knew I'd enjoy. Also, I was careful to read warnings and tags prior to reading the fic. Never once did I blame the writer for something that I knew I didn't like and accidentally read or read for see what it was about.

After high school was when I started getting into fanfiction writing. I've written for a lot of fandoms during this time. The IT movies, Total Drama, Haikyuu, Attack on Titan, Marvel, Bridgerton, Top Gun: Maverick, and currently ASOIAF. As a writer I've never gotten hate, thankfully, but I have had a lot of friends that have. It's sad to see so many people who take the time to write, whether it's enjoyable or not, receive hate. As writers we are simply expressing our creativity for the things that we love. Since posting fanfiction on tumblr, I have experienced a lot of people pestering for new updates and when the next fic is, and so have a lot of other writers on here. Even though people only know us as a little icon and username, fanfiction writers are people. We have lives outside of writing fanfiction. Everyone also isn't the same type writer. One person may easily write multiple fics every week, some of us take longer, and some of us are even just passion writers (me lol).

The TGM fandom has been one of the most negative fandom experiences I've ever seen/had. It is full of some of the meanest people/anons I've ever seen. From writers being attacked for fic ideas, people being sent hate for something that the anon has full control over, and people constantly expecting new stories to read on the daily. Yes, I do know that other fandoms have these issues, but it seems to be almost a weekly, hell, even daily thing within this fandom. A lot of the issues that I see happen in this fandom are from people who don't understand fandom etiquette.

Fandom Etiquette.

If you had noticed there was a few things I put in bold above. These are key things that I learned during my time that attribute to fandom etiquette. So without further a do, I'll list out some fandom etiquette rules that I follow all the time.

Don't send hate anons to people

Block/unfollow people you don't like

If you don't like an idea or fic, don't read it

Read through all warnings and tags that the writer provided

Use AO3 filters

Don't blame the writer/creator for reading things they created that you actively know you don't like

Writers/Creators aren't "content farms"

There are people behind these blogs/usernames, treat them like someone you'd see on the street

Writers/Creators are expressing love/passion for something, don't hate them for doing that

If you see something fandom related that you don't like, scroll past it or ignore it

YOU CURATE YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE (ESPECIALLY ON TUMBLR)

The Doxing Situation.

For those who are unaware but decided to read this anyways, recently there was a writer (Mama Mayhem) on here who got doxed from another writer in the fandom. Mayhem has since lost her job due to the doxing. This was apparently from her breaking HIPAA by posting a picture into a private groupchat/discord. This picture was posted almost a half year ago. Meaning that the person who reported/doxed Mayhem had known about this picture for months and only recently decided to do something about it.

I'll start by saying that I also work in healthcare, and know many other people here who do. I understand that a HIPAA violation is 100% an offense that gets you fired. I'm not excusing the HIPAA violation if one did occur.

Some people have brought up the idea that maybe the person that reported the picture, and doxed Mayhem, was doing it out of the goodness of their heart. Due to the timeline of it all, that doesn't seem likely. I had a previous coworker get fired for HIPAA violations and it took a total of a week from the initial report for her to be gone.

The biggest thing I want to convey is that TWO WRONGS CAN HAPPEN AT THE SAME TIME. Yes, if Mayhem violated HIPAA, it is wrong. But at the same time, the person held onto this information for months only to use it out of spite, pettiness, and cruelty, is wrong.

My Thoughts.

Due to Mayhem being doxed, a lot of people have decided to leave this platform, take indefinite hiatuses, stop writing, or move to AO3 exclusively., and I don't blame them. I'll be honest, I'm thinking about moving to AO3 exclusively now. AO3 feels a lot more rewarding in my experience. I already only post my fics for ships to AO3, so why not just post everything on AO3 (which I usually do).

I think a lot of people have forgot what it feels like to feel shame in something they say or do. When I say this, it's directed towards people who send hate or do other malicious things in fandom spaces. Fandoms were never this clique-ish and mean. I think it has to do with the pandemic, meaning that a lot of people who would have never joined a fandom did because they weren't allowed to do anything outside of their house. So, those mean girls that made fun of fandom girlies (g/n) previously, joined the fandoms and decided started bullying the people within them.

This situation is super shitty and people are now scared. It makes complete sense, especially after seeing someone, that many of you were close to, be doxed. A lot of people are scared of it happening to them now. I don't think this fandom will be the same after this situation, but who knows, maybe everyone will just forget and move on. Either way, I think I'll be taking a step back from the TGM fandom. I'll still be here, but until further notice, I won't be posting any TGM fanfiction. Maybe a gifset/picture here and there, but I don't think this is a fandom I feel comfortable writing for anymore.

I'm so sorry you felt you had to send me this. I would never want anyone to feel like I don't appreciate any positive interaction I get on my fics! Truly, I cherish every single person who has ever read any of my nonsense, and hate to think I've not shown that!

I don't believe I've ever missed a response (please do correct me if I'm wrong though!) and I promise I make every effort to reply in a timely fashion. I'll be honest, I tend to save replying to longer comments until the weekend because I work full-time Mondays to Fridays, and I use my evenings to write, so in my head it makes sense for me to wait for a "day off" to answer comments and such.

I completely understand where you're coming from and I know that this month I've been particularly bad for it because I'm juggling multiple projects. Still, I will say that there are only so many hours in the day, so I'm happy to make a bigger push to respond to comments same day, but there will obviously be a knock-on effect with how frequently I update. So really, I guess it depends on what would be better from that perspective!

Also, I would never want anyone to feel obligated to comment on my stuff - if it's stressful or too difficult, please don't think you have to force yourself! I'm just happy knowing folks are reading, that's all I ever wanted!

First off the very most important thing to know about me is I'm 25 coming to you from the Cringy One Direction Roleplay era. My minimum is two paragraphs and my max well she's all over the place typically around five paragraphs. I'm ghost and cringe-friendly. I love building playlists and interest boards for RPs and world-building and just all the OOC chit-chat you could dream of. I'm looking for romance and if all parties are comfy some spice in the plot along with everything else we could ever dream up within reason. I'm open to writing all pairing types and OCxCC or CCxCC but no OCxOC sorry! But I double! :) Fandoms and a little more about what I'm looking for in each one. Marvel/MCU/Comics: I am a die-hard Phlint shipper and I am always down to write them. I have hardcore missed this pair so damn much since Omegle left us. Adventures in Prince Sitting by Lumelo

Looking after your nephew for half a day isn't that big of a deal, really. Except when said nephew happens to be a prince of Durin's line, second in line to the throne, and really quite the destructive little beast for something that's only known how to walk for a few months. His Highness is lucky he's cute, really.

Nori really isn't sure why Ori thinks he can handle a baby. Fortunately, he can always make Dwalin help him, or else.

Notes: Nwalin focused, with a side of Fiori and Thilbo. I can't ever decide if I like Dwalin/Nori or Dwalin/Ori more. Maybe we should have a vote... But either way, I love this fic, especially since it highlights two characters that don't typically get the limelight (also baby dwarrow).

“It’s got such a presence to it, even from a distance,” Bilbo says softly, and there’s a general murmur of awed agreement from the others. “Why, in all my fifty years, I never thought I’d see such a thing, and we haven’t even arrived yet!”

Thorin’s sword hits the ground with a clatter, and Balin chokes on his pipe. 

The hobbit doesn’t look at Thorin, too busy thumping Balin on the back. Once the dwarf seems able to breathe again, he looks up, to find thirteen wide pairs of eyes fixed on him. 

“What?” he says defensively, though he’s not sure what he’s defending.

“You’re how old?” Kíli squeaks. 

Bilbo frowns at the young dwarf. “I’m fifty years old. Well, fifty-one, come springtime. Though it is not very polite to ask someone their age so bluntly,” he tells him primly. 

Fíli makes a choked sound, and Nori lets out a vicious string of swears in Khuzdul.

Notes: CLASSIC ALERT. All I can really say about this fic is that if you haven't read it, that's a crime, and you must. This fic is a gen-you-ine staple, and I adore it. Thilbo.

Notes: This one's simultaneously funny and saddd. All the feels, especially the faith Thorin has in Bilbo (this is Thilbo btw). Everything ends up fine, but it still destroys me.

''You really ought to look more interested, or at least pretend.'' Bilbo started, giving the Dwarf a slap against his arm at the look he received. ''And stop being such a child.'' Thorin smiled. ''They don't know me the way you do.'' A flutter exploded in the Hobbit's chest at the words. ''I doubt if there's anyone who is quite so skilled at interpreting expressions as you Master Baggins.''

Thorin had to choose a consort. He knew that, and he also knew he didn't want a consort that was not the Hobbit. He doesn't, and instead stubbornly waits for a sign that the Hobbit himself would be willing to be such. Bilbo in turn, knew he was more than a little envious of those that got the chance to present themselves in front of the Dwarven King, and that he was more than a little relieved when time after time, they were kindly rejected. He also knew that if he was being really honest, he really wanted to take on the spot himself.

Notes: This one's another classic and I love it too much to handle sometimes. The pining is lovely and it ends up so happily, and I just love it so much.

It had been many years since Bilbo had seen his Dwarves. Driven by his loneliness and nostalgia, one night he decided to re-read the contract he had signed so many years ago, hoping to find catharsis. Instead, what he found was burning rage at all the ridiculous clauses the Dwarves had slipped in without his notice. In the end, Bilbo knew there was only one thing to do. He would travel to Erebor, and have very specific words with the King.

Bagginshield Week 2023 - Guideline, Dates, Prompts

Welcome all to Bagginshield Week 2023, an event meant to inspire creations surrounding the relationship between Bilbo Baggins and Thorin Oakeshield! Keep reading below the cut to find out how to participate, when will it take place, and what are the prompts!

What is considered as Bagginshield for the purposes of the event? Any kind of relationship between Bilbo Baggins and Thorin Oakenshield, whether that be platonic, romantic or sexual, so long as said relationship or the interactions between these characters are the main focus of the work you create.

Is there one specific incarnation of the characters/story that we must abide by? Not at all, you can write them following the lines of the book, the animated film, or the live action trilogy, and even add your own flavor to them. As for the story, you may observe either canon, or make it as canon divergent or alternate universe as you wish (prompt notwithstanding).

Are other pairings featuring Bilbo or Thorin welcome? Yes. So long as Bilbo and Thorin remain the focus of the work, you may include any other background pairings, other relationships (of any nature) that feature Bilbo or Thorin, and polycules/open relationships. I find it perfectly understandable and more than acceptable if you wish, for example, to develop a platonic relationship between these two characters, while also hinting at either of them having a romantic relationship with someone else. Different strokes for different folks.

What mediums are allowed? Are there any minimum requisites for completion or participation? Officially speaking, all mediums are allowed and there aren’t any requisites , since the purpose is to simply inspire more creations of this pair, but the following minimums are encouraged -

Art: 1 sketch.

Fiction: 250 words.

Commentary: 250 words.

Podfic: 5 minutes.

Edits/manips: 2 pictures.

Gifset: 2 gifs.

Moodboard: 4 pictures.

Playlist: 5 songs.

Any other mediums you can think of are more than welcome! If what you wish to create in (animation, cosplay, embroidery, essay, poetry, video edit, you name it) isn’t mentioned above, is simply because I couldn’t even begin to conceptualize what could be considered a minimum for it or wasn’t entirely sure if what I had in mind would work out. You’re more than welcome to drop any comments on other mediums in the ask box, and to participate just as freely as anyone else! Again, these minimums are suggestions, after all!

Event Specifics

Date: June 4th - 10th. 2023.

Two extra days (June 11th and 12th) will be available to post/finish creations.

There are two prompts to chose from or combine per day.

There are two alternate prompt sets (regular and whump), with five prompts each, which you can exchange or combine with any daily prompt.

For those posting in Tumblr, you must use the tag #thilboweek23 to have your post reblogged. For those posting in AO3, a Collection will be set at the beginning of the event. For those who may post somewhere else or would prefer remaining anonymous on Tumblr, you may: make a short Tumblr post to promote, request me to share your work through the Discord server (that is still being set up) or an ask through Tumblr, or send me an email with the link to your work through an account I will share later (I’m afraid I don’t have Twitter or Instagram accounts, sorry).

"What is this exactly?" Thorin asked, his dark brows furrowed with distrust and curiosity.

Even after all his years living abroad, his dwarvish nature made him wary of foods and beverages not formerly known to him—this unwavering petulance was one of the many things he was benevolently mocked for by his lover.

Unfortunately for both his stubborn prudence and his waist, living with Bilbo included a lot of new culinary experiences and this seemingly calm Saturday evening was no exception.

"It's a butter pecan whiskey sour," Bilbo repeated in his most patronising voice.

Nevertheless, he gave that stubborn head a fond pat as he sat by Thorin's side next to the open window and gave a satisfied, thrumming sigh.

"I love a good summer storm, don't you?" he asked wistfully as he leaned against the broad, sturdy shoulder of his beloved king.

Shrugging sheepishly, Thorin took a sip of his cocktail and allowed the corners of his mouth to quirk upwards with genuine delight.

More than storms, summer or otherwise, he loved sitting here with his beloved while nursing one of those outlandish but delicious concoctions Bilbo frequently came up with when Thorin had his back turned.

"I was quite intimidated by them as a pebble," he then confessed. "Inside the mountain, it felt as if the whole kingdom would come crashing down on our heads."

At that, Bilbo gave a sympathetic hum, intertwining the fingers of his free hand with Thorin's broad, sturdy digits consolingly.

"Later," Thorin went on, "it became even worse. Our lodgings—while in exile—left much to be desired, you understand."

Thorin fell silent as if embarrassed by this confession; Bilbo knew that he did not relish thinking back on these days of deprivation and despair, so he never pressed Thorin on the matter.

"Of course," Thorin then chuckled, evidently decided that he wouldn't let his ghosts ruin a perfectly comfortable summer evening with his lover, "back then, nobody would bring me cocktails and expect me to watch the storm ravage the landscape as if it was a marvellous spectacle."

"Isn't it?" Bilbo asked kindly even as a flash of lightning cut through the swirling blacks and blues of a stormy sky.

He waited until the angry roar of the thunder had rolled past and then smiled up at Thorin encouragingly.

"It is just like you—monumental, potentially lethal, and utterly beautiful—wouldn't you agree?"

Sputtering, Thorin took another gulp of his drink to gain some time; he never quite knew how to reply to the poetic declarations of admiration and love Bilbo came up with every so often.

"I am hardly a force of nature," he then opined feebly, "otherwise, I would have finished the fence you've asked me to build."

Waving an indolent hand, Bilbo lifted his own glass to his quirking lips.

"Never mind the fence now, dearest heart, we'll have plenty of time for that, once the storm is over. Let's just sit here and admire our half-finished work."

"Hobbits," Thorin muttered under his breath with undeniable affection; these strangely resilient, pugnacious creatures seemed to delight in all things natural in ways he was only beginning to fully comprehend.

There was an innate fearlessness about Bilbo that never stopped amazing and humbling Thorin.

While he had not been afraid of thunderstorms for many long years, the dwarven king would not have claimed that he enjoyed them immensely hitherto.

Now, he was willing to amend that assessment though for he could not deny that there was something profoundly comforting and cosy about the way Bilbo was curled up against his ribs, sighing every time the storm unleashed its destructive violence upon the unsuspecting but enduring land.

When the pitter-patter of rain turned into a vehement, deafening downpour, Thorin even found himself smiling with quiet satisfaction.

"Will your flowers survive?" he asked teasingly.

"Of course," Bilbo replied with all the vexation of an experienced gardener. "The Shire blossoms are hardier than they look."

"Don't I know that?" Thorin chuckled and pressed a tender kiss onto the mop of ever-curlier hair—the moisture and static in the air exacerbated the naturally messy look of that tangle of honey-coloured locks in unexpected but delightful ways indeed.

To his surprise, Bilbo turned away from the window and tilted his face up to welcome another onslaught of quite a different kind than the one they were witnessing still from the corners of their eyes.

Instead of punishing droplets of water, his soft skin was soon covered with passionate kisses.

In many a way, it felt as if the unbridled enthusiasm of the tempest was infectious and had invaded their very systems to cleanse them of old inhibitions.

Hidden from any prying eyes by a curtain of rain and the impenetrable darkness of the storm, they held on to each other desperately, clutching blindly at clothes and exchanging messy, sticky kisses.

"Oh, how I love you," Thorin exclaimed ardently as he drained his glass before plunging back into the bottomless pit of Bilbo's desire.

Much later, he lazily looked up from where he lay on the floor—comfortably entangled in Bilbo's limbs—to the deserted windowsill.

Picking up his empty glass, he gave it a little shake.

"Would it be too much to ask to beg for a refill? I think it shall be storming for another few hours."

Heavy-lidded and sleepy, Bilbo raised his head as well; his pride did not allow him to let any guest of this house go thirsty, so he pulled himself up slowly.

"You want to go on watching?" he asked, sincerely astonished.

Thorin merely hummed his acquiescence and winked conspiratorially.

"I'll get the blankets and you get the drinks?"

"It's a date," Bilbo laughed and sauntered back into the kitchen, his heart full and his stomach empty.

Eyeing the box of freshly baked scones sitting on the counter, he shrugged and grabbed it along with their topped-up glasses. A part of him sincerely hoped that this tempest would never end.
