What are your top 10 favorite scenes in Clear Card manga? (Not counting the anime because it hasn't been finished yet)

Aaaahhh nice question! 🤭 Thank you so much for sending me this ask, since now that the main story is over, with a cool mind, it gave me the opportunity to think about the scenes I loved the most.

It is actually quite hard for me to choose, because there are so many good scenes, and it somehow feels also "unfair" to make a ranking, but I will try to answer with my CURRENT top 10, which is highly depending on my current inclinations and preferences. 😊 (under the cut, with explanations and analysis for each scene)

10. Chapter 1, "We'll be together forever"

I'm not placing this here because it's my least favorite, not at all, but because after more than 7 years, its power to evoke emotions in me has been supplanted by other scenes. 😅 I dunno how to explain it but, while it stays one of the most important and nostalgic scenes in this series, so much more happened in this arc that I feel "in a stronger way" than this scene. Still, it's in my top 10 because I was highly emotional when I've seen it in chapter 1.

9. Chapter 22, "Same goes for you, Syaoran-kun"

Ooooh, this was such a satisfactory moment, I still remember it. Till that moment, Sakura never gave out any hint that she had started to notice that Syaoran had been hiding something from her. This was portrayed differently in the anime, because Sakura confides her doubt with Meiling way before this scene happened in episode 21, but in the manga it was such a "wow" moment for me, because we had been screaming in our heads "how is it possible that Sakura is so oblivious that she doesn't notice anything", but no, she actually had already noticed, it's just that she wanted to take all of us by surprise, Syaoran included! And she was waiting patiently for him to talk to her. I also liked the way she phrased this, because it might be interpreted as slightly slightly calling him out while telling him "please open up to me" with love. Which is exactly what also will happen with another couple later on.

8. Chapter 33, Sakura hugs Syaoran with a resolute face

Another moment that made me scream "QUEEN!!" was this one. Oooh, how much I loved Sakura in this specific panel. Syaoran is prevented from warning her about Kaito and what he knows about him, so he desperately tries to convey to her with that crushing hug that no matter what happens, he's going to protect her. But since Sakura had just found out the truth about the Clear Cards and felt the frustration of not having understood it earlier, causing her loved one to put himself into a dangerous position, her resolute face here always conveyed to me her desire to be more "in touch" with herself, finally "waking up" and do her part to protect Syaoran in turn. That little hand gripping Syaoran's shirt tightly is everything to me. It's so rare to see Sakura depicted with such strong and complex feelings.

7. Chapter 41/42, Syaoran and Kaito's fight

One of my favorite scenes, no doubt. You have no idea how much I'm anticipating to see this scene in the anime. It's not only because my two favorite boys are basically arguing over who's more "I'll save/protect my most important person no matter what" (even if one of them hasn't figured it out yet), but it's also because we have a pretty violent Syaoran here...he attacked Kaito behind his back with a freaking lightning, without notice or anything else, and that made me go "wow Syaoran, you must be quite mad if you're not caring about fair play in this confrontation" 😂 And it's also pretty uncharacteristic of Kaito to be taken by suprise by someone....but this is just because Nadeshiko had distracted him with a topic that really dug deep in his core.

6. Chapter 31, "I'm also mad at you, Syaoran-kun"

And of course, this is another main scene that I can't wait to see animated and that really left an impact on me. I realize that my favorite scenes are those where the characters do something you wouldn't expect from them basing on what's been portrayed of them till that moment. And I think hearing Sakura say "I'm also mad at you, Syaoran-kun" had a major impact on me. And felt very satisfactory. Of course I knew that Sakura would've never lashed out at Syaoran when she would've found out about the Sakura Cards, about lying and omitting things to her...Sakura knows that her Syaoran would never reach such lengths if it weren't for her safety. But still, he didn't fully consider the consequences of his actions, which could've been so much worse than what we've seen, and I think in that moment Sakura fully realized all of that, and it's inevitable that the pain turned also into anger because "how can you be so blind to not realize that you would've killed me if something happened to you?". Sakura's calm and composed anger and pain is very much in character for her, but also something we yet had to see till that moment, so it felt really refreshing. I also remember her next sentence, "Even if it would've made you uncomfortable, I would've cried and cried forever". It's as if she was telling him "in front of something of such gravity, I need to take notice of my own feelings and express them. I WILL react in this way, even if I know that I will make you feel bad about it." It's claiming the right to be angry when your loved one messes up big time with you. (lord, the parallels!) And Syaoran's hug to her head, not even allowing himself to hug her body, felt very humble and respectful from his part, in my opinion. He absolutely felt the need to apologize and comfort her, but not invading her space and comfortable zone too much.

5. Chapter 52, "But you look like you're in pain"

Chapter 52 was a "parallels fest" beginning to end, and more than a scene, I'd daresay I place the entire chapter in this position of the ranking. It was very nice to see, for once, a parallelism between Akiho and Syaoran, rather than the usual Akiho and Sakura. I think CLAMP took care in depicting this scene because they wanted to make sure that the readers understood that, despite being under a "synchronization", the feelings Sakura and Akiho have for their loved ones are absolutely genuine, unique and personal to eachother. In short, Akiho doesn't act in a certain way towards Kaito because she's "mimicking" what Sakura does with Syaoran. If there's one thing in CLAMP manga that always eluded hitsuzen, plotting, scheming, even premonitions, are the feelings the characters have for their important people, and it's not something specific to CCS. Not even magic can change the feelings someone got for someone else, just as magic alone cannot make someone fall in love with someone else. It's always coming from the heart. And so, in this scene we see two kids deeply worried for their loved ones, who look in pain, and CLAMP have shown to us how their situations, although paralleling, had two very different outcomes, not because the feelings at the base were different, but because their circumstances were different. In the Akiho/Kaito half, I was absolutely heartbroken by Kaito's reaction, dictated by fear and isolation. But I was also in awe at Akiho's strength of mind, the way she kept insisting for Kaito to open up to her because she just could feel that something wasn't right, it hadn't been for a while at this point, and the fear to lose him made her stronger and more incisive than ever. Alas, Kaito's stubborness at this point of the story is basically playing a tug of war with her (a game Akiho has no intention to lose), so he had that reaction of running away and shutting the door in her face, another thing I found extremely uncharacteristic of him, because he had always been so respectful and diligent in his "role of the butler". With the progression of the story, this reaction became so much more clear and coherent with his state of mind. To this day, this chapter is so dear to me because of the strong and complex emotions depicted in it (even though at the time it hurt so much).

4. Chapter 80, "Cristaux. That's my true name"

Well yes, it might be because it's just fresh in my mind, or because it was, in a way, the end of the tribulations for me to see this guy finally realizing what Akiho is to him, but I feel this scene in my core. The choice to reveal his true name to her, what it means in a CLAMP manga, the intimacy of the scene without actually depicting anything that any reader (who doesn't know CLAMP well) would consider "regular" for a romantic scene (so much that a good amount of people didn't understand what happened here), makes it so precious and special to me. When I've talked about this scene in the stories of my IG account, I used "Delicate" by Taylor Swift as a background song, because I really feel like CLAMP depicted Kaito's intentions in a very delicate way. Which is how it is supposed to be, how their relationship will develop and transform along the way. They need so much sensitivity, gentleness, time, tenderness, because they both have lots of scars they need to heal from. And just like in the song, Kaito is starting to acknowledge many things and he's moving a tiny step ahead in that direction, with this gesture that means so much (and Akiho is perfectly aware of what it entails). It's like "starting again" for them, this time from a foundation of honesty and trust. Slowly, slowly healing and building their bond back up. It's the evidence that when your heart is in the right place, there's always a second chance and Kaito showed here that he doesn't want to waste it.

3. Chapter 78, Akiho and Kaito's reunion

Well. OF COURSE this would be in my top 3! I cried so much!! 🥲 The emotional tension, Akiho's anger, Kaito's silence that suggested how stunned he was, finally realizing things that we waited for the whole manga for him to see... I think the one aspect that struck me the hardest in this scene was imagining to be in Akiho's shoes in that moment, and feeling all that love and anger pouring out of her, without even fully understanding where those feelings came from, because she still didn't remember anything about him. Like, you have someone in front of you, your heart knows it's the person you love, and yet you can't remember anything about them, not even their name. But you still feel this storm of feelings pouring out of you. So powerful. As powerful was Akiho's assertiveness when she rebuked Kaito not only for deciding her happiness on her behalf, without asking her absolutely anything, but most importantly because he dared to remove himself from her life, thinking "she doesn't need me to be happy, after all", when he was so so so wrong. And in doing that, he committed another horrible thing, he literally threw himself away in the process, like something of no value. I think more than anything else, this was what hurt Akiho the most. And we always go back to that parallelism of chapter 31, how these boys, in their fever of protecting their most important person, completely forget/don't see how fundamental THEY are to that person's happiness. Out of this whole reunion, another scene I love is when Akiho kinda "pulls" Kaito back to her, pressuring him to go along with Sakura's plan to revert him back to his true appearance (from that of a dragon). You can see that his self-loathing makes him hesitate, and resist that plan till the last second, but when he exchanges that long stare with Akiho, he finally caves in. Her hard stare, which shows already the irritation and pain that will overflow afterwards, makes him feel "wanted", necessary to someone. Just for being himself, not because of his powers, like it had been till he met her. That's another moment of this scene that I love deeply.

2. Chapter 48, "The moon is beautiful"

Yeah I'm sorry, I've been debating whether this scene would go to n. 1 or not, then decided otherwise, but I can't lie to myself: the scene that impacted me the most in this entire manga, the one that changed me, is this one. Akiho's covert love confession under the full moon. And until someone explained to me what Akiho actually meant with that "because the moon is really beautiful", I had considered this just a very sweet and cute scene, but nothing more. When someone gave me the correct "reading key" (and it's absolutely intentional because Akiho's speech is placed between quote marks), something changed inside of me towards these two. I already liked them, Akiho in particular, but this scene confirmed to me that Akiho was serious in wanting to grasp her life tightly and change it. From a shy, insecure girl needing validation at every sentence, crushed by the trauma of the past, to someone who actually made the first, concrete steps in conveying her thoughts and feelings to the person most important to her. From stillness, to action. The first steps towards finding her voice, and letting it be heard, louder and louder, throughout the story. This is a very important turning point, as you can literally see her changing, after this scene. Even in this metaphorical way, it must have required for Akiho to muster all of her courage to confess her feelings. Did Kaito understand what she meant, here? To this day, I don't think he did. Otherwise, he wouldn't have said such a foolish thing like "I didn't think you needed me to be happy" in ch. 78. But he still wanted to spend time with her, he was visibly glad to receive that "invitation" from her, even though he never let that transpire from his words, his reply is a line carefully built in Japanese to address what Akiho wanted, not what he wanted. Cause he couldn't allow himself to want anything, aside from that one wish, knowing very well how this would've ended. Chapter 48 and 49 were giving us everything we needed to know to determine not only Akiho's feelings towards Kaito, but also his own feelings for her. It's very clear by the way they look at eachother in their scenes of these two chapters. And yet, the smell of "doom" was looming over them (so much that at the time I thought this would be their last conversation before everything went down the drain; fortunately it wasn't), so this "duality" created the perfect mix to get me definitively invested in these two.

1. Chapter 79, "I can't be on everyone's side"

I chose this scene for the 1st position because I absolutely adored the revolutionary and strong message that Sakura passed in the very culmination of the climax. I felt we really needed it. More than once I had feared, throughout the serialization, that CLAMP would've shown Sakura trying to "befriend" or "compromise" with the Squids & Association, when the "moment of the truth" would've come. Because of the apparent "dogma" that "Sakura is everyone's friend, no one is evil in Sakura's world, Sakura is such a good girl".

But what they had already shown about Akiho's clan and the Association ABSOLUTELY couldn't be justified or compromised with. CLAMP had already shown too much cruelty from them, there couldn't be any "redeeming arc" or anything like that, that wouldn't result in being offensive to the sensitivity and intelligence of the readers. Sometimes it happens that you just can't compromise with cruel people guided only by greed. You shouldn't. Especially if they abused other people ever since they were so little.

In this specific scene, CLAMP have put Sakura in front of a choice, but not only that: they also made her question her own morality. How I adored that! Sakura does realize that what she's about to do might not be good from a moral standpoint, forcing people to forget about something without their consent. Exactly what Kaito did before. But she doesn't care. This is something different, and the difference lies in the intentions. While Kaito acted out of love, those other people were clearly trying to harm her friends. Because of this, she spells out clearly that she can't be on everyone's side. Because at some point a choice needs to be made, and she chose Akiho and Kaito. This scene right here is, perhaps, the one that answers the question that I know many people made themselves throughout the story, and after it was over: did we need Akiho and Kaito in Cardcaptor Sakura?

Yes, we did.

Because they brought Sakura to this moment, and they pushed her to make this decision. The decision to choose her loved ones' happiness over anything else, even her own morality, particularly when cruel intentions were involved towards people with a background much less happier and ideal than hers'. The decision to go on along with them, rather than trying to go back to how things were before. The decision to do whatever in her power to protect them. A series of decisions that brought her an enormous character development. This thematic of "going on" rather than "going back" was so strong in Tsubasa too, and it's not a coincidence that everyone could feel a strong connection to that other CLAMP work, in the final 2 chapters (and not only because of the cameos).

I think this scene defined and changed CCS forever (for the better, in my opinion). I feel like the essence of Clear Card is all here. This feeling of "everything we went through was for this moment" is so strong that made me designate it as my n. 1 scene!✨

Info dump #5: Digital Reincarnation Naming Lore + Arts:

Been a long time since I’ve done one of these but, I wanted to explain a little thing that will be in the future, since I have posted a series of pictures over the past months, that have taken me longer and stressed me out more than they should have, unfortunately I should add, but that’s my will of starting new things over finishing WIPs, and series of drawings, if consistent make me want to move away rather than not, but that’s me and it’s not what I wanted to talk about.

I wanted to talk about the reason why I chose certain names, some may be pretty obvious, since they are canon, trust me, Yoko Taro said so, but others may be a little spoilery for now.

So if you want to read, do so at your own discretion, they’ll be further down, I’ll start with the canon ones.

As we know, the four YoRHa girls protagonists of the musical had a promise with Rose, even though she didn’t make it to the end, like most of them, that promise never took place, but in an interview and a twitter post, that Rose’s actress (and anime VA too now) Ui Hinagata had been thinking about naming the girls, and revealed it, and as she said the names Yoko Taro plainly declared them canon.

The meaning of the flowers may not be accurate, they’re the most popular meanings online.

A2’s name is Freesia. That flower means trust and friendship, possibly given to her due to the fact that she decided to have faith in Rose and her group, that started everything.

A4’s name is Amaryllis. The flower means pride and determination, possibly since she is always determined to fight no matter what, also may be due to her false memories, she was a school girl that spoke about having a lot of friends that gave her the strength to face a difficult test.

G16’s name is Lycoris. The flower is otherwise known as a spider lily, the meaning seems to be death and goodbyes, possibly tied to her violent nature and for the fact she’s always the first to throw herself in battle.

S21’s name is Cattleya. The flower means beauty, grace, and love, though I do agree that she’s beautiful and graceful (I’m biased as it’s probably obvious she’s my favorite of the four), possibly the name might have been given due to the meaning about love, because as we know personalities of the Number 21 are very caring about the people around them, and their dreams is to have a family.

These were the canonical ones, now the ones chosen by myself, though I did ask for help and an opinion of other friends who love Nier.

2B’s name is Luna, which is short for Lunar Tears, as we feel it’s a flower that would fit her well, ties in the lore of the game, and its meaning is hope in a dying world, which also fits her very well.

6O’s name is Sunny, short for Sunflower, means positivity, admiration and loyalty, personally I feel all three meanings fit her, she’s a happy person, she admires the people close to her and is loyal to them.

These two are a little more niche and tied to the lore of the story, and particularly, tied to Robin.

9S’ name is Clover, though the flower means gentleness and good fortune, he is gentle with 2B, and also he’s lucky and blessed between women as we say, but he’s mostly tied to Robin as if you know her, with Professor Clover. 9S is curious and like him he’s been killed (multiple times) because of his forbidden knowledge. 2B still calls him Nines.

21O’s name is Olivia, olive branches are a symbol of peace, all that YoRHa want, but, much like 9S, if you know the lore, Robin’s mother’s name is Olvia, but as you can see it’s not the exact same, this is because 21O refuses to have the exact name of her mother, even though she feels like one, she doesn’t want to take Olvia’s place. To Robin’s insistence, a letter is added, turning the name to Olivia, keeping it similar yet not the same, and keeping the same flower/plant theme.

These were the ideas, there’s nothing more to this than that.

The chapter will be out a while in the future, the naming is not too far away.

Ooh nice, lots! I did most of them (some I didn't have an interesting answer for, eg. playlists question, so i left those out)

2. talk about a notable time a narrative or character has looked you dead in the eyes and said “fuck your plan, here’s what we’re actually doing.”

in Catching Icarus 21, Lemel and Tev had a fight, but in the outline, Lemel says something really hurtful to Tevane, whereas in the final, they instead become upset and overwhelmed when he hits a vulnerable emotion for them and just runs away, so it's a much more intimate and emotional conflict that resolves within the same chapter in final vs the stinging one it would have been in outline version.

4. what is the plot bunny you’ve been carrying for the longest? optional bonus question: do you ever wonder why you haven’t written it yet and experience deep existential dread?

13. talk about a writing experience that has pleasantly surprised you.

getting a comment from bany on ao3 unexpectedly, having not known who they were at the time, that said something like "great to see you again in the ahit archive!" and i was like "hmmm??? (<<perceived)"

17. what is your favorite line you’ve ever written?

i've written a lot of lines, it's pretty hard to sift through them to think of what i like. in terms of just straight prose, one contender: "Sleepless nights folded into one, flipping through her mind like a film shutter until red embers burned out the edges of her vision, leaving behind nothing but volcanic midnight beneath a vast smoke plume."

In terms of like emotional impact, another: "Maybe love is learning and relearning, again and again. And maybe home is not a place but a feeling. There was never a going back, not really. N.K. Jemisin tends to influence my prose a lot, especially when I'm actively reading her books. Usually I'm an unintentional style sponge though, which is sometimes unfortunate.

33. do you start with the characters or the plot when writing?

in fanfic, the characters. i think that's pretty typical.

37. when creating characters, what comes first: appearance, backstory, motivation, personality, something else?

a mix of personality and motivation. personality is itself derived from their role in the narrative, especially with supporting characters. lemel and tevane were both personality-first, for example. backstory is almost always last.

73. how do you visualize scenes? do you see it like a movie in your head, or do the words just flow?

like a movie! it's very clear to me, and i think it shows in how i lay out scenes and describe them. probably also why i've gotten comments on the consistency of motion and relative position of the characters within the scene. i'm literally watching them move through the space in my head and documenting it. i also pay attention to timing/pacing of the scene this way, though it's sometimes hard to convey in practice.

Alright. Not quite as much as I hoped, but I am beat and still have a cold. And I did a bit of replanning, so now I am standing at a total of 23 planned chapters. Yeah, one added one is another sexy time chapter.

“Are you sure you are gonna be okay?” Tav asked, as they were hiding in an alley once again. Astarion rolled his eyes. “Come on now, my sweet. I am fairly good at taking care of myself. Other than certain people, you know?” The bard rolled his eyes, but hesitated after it. “One kiss? For good luck?” Astarion smiled, before leaning in. “For good luck,” he whispered, before pressing his lips against those of the bard. When they broke apart, he took a last breath of fresh air, before turning. The plan was simple. So simple, in fact, that it barely qualified as “a plan”. He would use the access to the sewers found in the house that Thombo and his undead colleagues had used as a hideout, would sneak his way to the door that Lakrissa had found, open it and then go invisible to scout out the situation.

He tried to be quiet, given that the spell only cloaked him visually, but did not drown out any sound he made. He was good at sneaking though – things that two centuries of lurking in the shadows would teach you. Wouldn’t it be ironic, when instead to some smuggling tunnels this were the hideout for some new undead in the city? Something else entirely? Oh, wouldn’t that be fun? Estimating the distance he walked was rather hard, given that his surroundings did not change for a bit. Just a long and at times narrow tunnel, just big enough for him to stand. Karlach would definitely hit her horns down here. The weird thing was, that he didn’t hear much. No dripping, no creaking, no voices, not even the squeaking of rats, that he was so adapt on hearing everywhere. It seemed to be utterly silent down here. A spell, maybe? A spell that could drown out all noise? Another possible fun thing. Fighting a mage on his own. Yeah, no. He could do without that happening. Almost he was thinking about turning around, when the tunnel widened, opening up to a circular room with three doors going off of it. A bit cliché, wasn’t it?

Once submerged in the water, even he could not help a content sigh. Especially now that their tub was big enough to actually somewhat stretch out his legs. For a moment, he just leaned back, enjoying the warmth. It wasn’t a luxury for everyday, but when they made time for it, he would enjoy it. Two or three minutes passed, before he opened his eyes again, looking at the bard, who had sat down on the stool in the small room, smiling. “What are you doing there, darling? Aren’t you going to join me?” “Do you want me to?” Tav asked. For once it was Astarion’s turn. To shoot the bard a stare. Because this man really could be dense at times. At least he understood quick enough. “Oh. Sure.” As he had not put on his shirt again, he only needed to strip his trousers, before he lowered himself into the water. He knew quite well, how to do it, skuttling along until he was sitting behind Astarion, wrapping his arms around him. He paused for a moment. “Can I kiss you?” “If you don’t mind the smell.” “I don’t,” Tav replied, kissing his neck. “I am gonna wash you.” “Of course. Why else would I want you to bath with me?” Already he could feel the bard stretching for the soap, but he caught the man’s hand. “Not yet. First, I just wanna…” He did not finish the sentence, just leaned back against Tav, who thankfully understood this much. He just held him – and it was this feeling that Astarion liked so much. Being held. Feeling safe with this man, who was still so careful. It was the one thing he really could get lost in. Because there was nothing in his memories that even compared. Nothing like this. And while he knew that technically speaking he was more vulnerable in this position than in any other, he didn’t mind. Because he did not feel vulnerable like this. He felt… good. Warm. It was more than the warmth of the body. More than the warmth of the other body even. Rather it was a warmth that would reach into his heart – if there was such a thing for someone like him.

8) Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it. From Face to Face, chapter 13

[Jazz said] "I didn’t even believe in ghosts until thirty minutes ago.”

Phantom raised an eyebrow, amused. “But you boo-lieve in me now?”

Fenton snorted. “I think it ghosts without saying.”

“Oh stop it.” Jazz waved a hand.

“Come on. These puns are ghoul-den.” The ghost grinned, white teeth sparkling.

“Positively spooktacular.” His human finished and both laughed.

Jazz rolled her eyes, though she couldn’t hide her smile. “I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this.”

Anytime I come up with puns or jokes, I'm really proud of myself. Humor isn't my strong suit but I do love Danny's puns and him bantering with himself so much

9) Which fic has been the hardest to write?

Face to Face has been a long exercise in planning, patience, and persistence. Setting up things and making sure they pay off is hard with a story this long. And just writing sometimes, when the inspiration is waning.

10)Which fic has been the easiest to write?

That's hard. I'd say "Mom makes Everything Better." It's short so I managed to write in one sitting without too much agonizing over what I was going to write.

15) If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?

I don't really have an answer for this one. :/ Most of my stuff is very introspective so it wouldn't work very well as a movie. I'm going to say, "Hope can be a Heavy Thing to Hold." There's a good number of fight scenes in it and the ending would be absolutely heartbreaking to watch.

17) Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?

Start to finish. I feel like, things would get really jumbled and confusing for me if I tried to write scenes out of order.

18) Do you use any tools, like worksheets or outlines?

I have a Google doc with fic ideas and the outline for whatever story I'm currently working on. According to my outline, I've got 13 chapter left in Face to Face. But then again, that outline's very flexible. I mostly have it to write down ideas so I don't forget them.

21) How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

Maybe once? I write really slowly and tend to agonize over my words. Whenever I sit down to write, I re-read what I wrote the last time before starting on the new stuff and I normally make small changes then. But by the time I got over it with the beta, we just look at grammar and spelling. At the most, she'll make minor suggestions to a few lines.

23) If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?

I don't think I'd revise any of them, actually. Some of the older stuff could stand to be re-edited for grammar and spelling but I'm happy with the actual content, I think.

29) If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

This is really hard! I'm trying to think of stories that I commonly day dream about a potential sequel. The top contenders at the moment would be Smokescreen by Nylah and Masquerade by Five-Rivers. As I said in the endnote of my Invisobang story, I am you (and you are me), Smokescreen ended very similarly to where that one began. And for years, literally years!, I'd been thinking about what would have happened after that story, with Danny coming to accept his new self and his loved ones learning the truth. I wanted to see it, so I finally decided to write my own version, damn it! But with the actually events leading to that shared outcome being so different, I'd still love to see what happened after that story, especially with the romantic plotline. I don't write romance but that would really be interesting, to see Sam's reaction to the fusion, especially with Danny trying to argue that his clone dating her wasn't an act. The clone really did love her and Danny knows this because he remembers being him. That's a heartbreaking conversation I've been thinking about on and off for a long time.

And Masquerade, after that story came out, Five-Rivers and I did DM and brainstorm about what would happen in a sequel for a bit. I would never trust myself to actually write a sequel for that but daydreaming and hoping is fun :)

37) Talk about your current wips.

So I'm still working on Face to Face. I'm hoping to finish by February which will be the two year anniversary of the story. I'm to a part in the story that's supposed to be fluffy with a lot of family bonding and very little angst so... it's really dang hard for me but I'm getting there. I'm really excited about a bunch of scenes that will probably be in the last five chapters or so. I've literally had some of these things in mind for years so I'm excited to get to them. But I've still got a lot of work before the resolution can finally come.

On another note, @magicalmonsterhero submitted a post recently asking about some AUs, including one where Vlad and/or Danny's powers were not the result of an accident, which led me to what I call "The happy version of Danny was an experiment created by the GIW (and Jack and Maddie are scientists contracted to the project)" I wrote out an outline one the post but decided to expanding it into an actual story for Ectober. I hope to have to done for Nightmare vs Sweet Dreams on October 24th.

38) Talk about a review that made your day.

Well, my lovely friend @mymadmedleyw getting reviews from you always makes my day. :) You always say so many nice things and are so encouraging.

On a funnier note, a few days ago, a long time reader on Fanfiction.net left a review saying they could tell my grammar and spelling had definitely improved which got some out loud after from me. XD

Random-Mailbox's Favorite Sailor Moon Fics - Week 22 - Friends to Lovers

I think this may have been the post I have been looking forward to the most, so thank you tophat for picking it as this week’s theme (see end of last week's post for the story behind it). Friends to Lovers is more manga than anime characterization in most cases, which is a nice change to the constant arguing we get with the OG anime compliant stories.

Usagi literally trips over air and falls onto Mamoru on his first day of being the new engineer at the company she works for. As they start to spend more time together both in and out of the office, they get into a pattern that will require clearing up of misunderstandings before someone gets hurt. Also this art piece titled "Before you go in" by @iamcharlotte88 totally fits into the end of chapter 3 / start of chapter 4 of this story.

It's Always Been You - Beej88

In this non-senshi AU, little Usagi finds Mamoru in his hospital room and declares that since he is her best friend he will never be alone again. As he moves through foster care, Tsukinos always keep an eye on him, with him becoming an integral part of the family. Except that to him, Usagi means so much more than that, and she herself doesn’t realise yet what Mamoru means to her.

The Ghosts Of Lake Yokai - @floraone

This is the lemoniest story of the bunch. It is an aged up retelling of the original anime episode, BUT if the Starlight Tower stand-off turned out completely differently, with Mamoru joining the senshi team as the result. This one also features magical healing 🍆, which is always welcome in my books 😏

Not Him, Please? - @uglygreenjacket

Mamoru has long ago realized that he was in love with Usagi but chosen to keep himself in check best he can to stay in her life as one of her best friends. But when mixing alcohol, jealousy and a birthday party, even best intentions can go astray.

Finally Mine - @reispinkoveralls

Having woken up after defeating Chaos at the Cauldron, Usagi rushes to Mamoru's place to make sure he is back as well. In this AU, they have been fighting together as a team, and Usagi chose to not worry him overseas when a new enemy appeared. This one is also a 🍋🍋

Miraculous Musings: Vignettes of a Miracle Romance - Chapter 25: Fairy - @goddessalthena

This one-shot gives us a glimpse of an AU that us readers will hopefully get to see in full one day. The set-up is that our favorite duo has known each other since childhood and Mamoru gets something incredibly thoughtful as a gift for Usagi.

“So are you a virgin?”

You scowled at the phone perched on your nightstand.

“No,” you lied, continuing to paint your big toe.

Oddly enough, after the whole nature-calling theatre debacle, JJ not only apologized profusely when the movie ended, but he actually pursued you even harder the week following. The universe really did work in mysterious ways.

He quadruple texted you during the day, sent you funny pictures of him lallygagging around the town with The Pogues, and called you every night until you both fell asleep.

At first you found it clingy as hell, but seeing JJ in the girl-filter or watching videos of him pranking John B sleeping had you entertained enough to actually respond.

Tonight’s phone topic was 21 Questions, and like the fuck boy he was, ‘what’s your favorite color’ turned dirty in a matter of minutes.

“What’s your body count?” you asked, actually curious about what that figure might be.

“Hm,” you could hear him smacking his lips, “To be honest, I don’t really know.”

“Are you serious?”

“Well,” he spluttered through the line, “I stopped keeping count after like 30. If I had to give a range it’d probably be from 50 to 70.”

Your nose crinkled. “Charming.”

Just then, you heard your mom’s voice echo from the front door, “Y/n! Package came in for you!”

“One sec,” you told the blondie on the phone and waddled down the hall on your heels, careful of your wet toes.

Ripping open the box, you gasped at the rows of assorted lacy thongs Annalise ordered yesterday to be sent to your house. You forgot rich people could afford express shipping.

“Everything good?” JJ questioned through the line.

“Yeah, uh, just a little shocked at how big the, uh, water bottle I ordered is.”

Your hand clawed through the stash, feeling how nice the silk and lace felt. No surprise, it was also a very expensive brand. You considered keeping a few for yourself.

“Hm, interesting,” JJ responded, “Anyways, continuing our game, do you have any kinks, like in bed?”

You held up a red g-string, inspecting the tiny bows lining the crotch area. “Yeah, I have a few.”

------------------------------- On your next day off, JJ invited you to go fishing with him and his friends. He picked you up early to grab some equipment from the store. Afterwards, you both sprawled on his bed, waiting for the others to arrive.

“Hey JJ?” you asked, hand tangled in his gold locks while he played some game on his phone.

“Hm?”

“So do you remember the other night when we talked about our kinks?” you asked as seductively as your inexperienced self could.

He immediately halted his game, a sly smirk danced its way across his lips. “Yeah...”

“Well,” you bit your lip, “I do have this one that just really turns me on.”

“I’m listening,” he piped, running a hand up and down your thigh.

You put on your best amateur sex-minx face, blinking up at him. “It’s a little weird though.”

He shifted positions so he laid between your thighs, kissing up your exposed stomach from your crop-top. “I don’t care. If it gets you wet baby, I’m all for it.”

“Okay then... I actually have a present for you.”

Sliding out from under him, you scrambled through your bag and pulled out the red g-string. JJ whistled from his bed in response, leaning back on his arms at the edge.

“That’s sexy as fuck,” he dragged you closer by the back of your thighs, “Try it on for me real quick, before the rest of the Pogues get here.”

“Oh no no no,” you hung the underwear out to him, “It’s for you.”

JJ’s mouth went agape, his eyes nearly exploding. “What the fuck y/n?! Are you kidding me?”

You pouted and sulked away with a huff. “I knew it! I knew you’d make fun of me! I thought I could trust you JJ!” You covered your face and wailed like a child who couldn’t get her way. If this wasn’t your Oscar-winning moment you didn’t know what was.

“Hey, hey, hey, wait,” JJ cooed, stroking his hand up your shoulders behind you. “I didn’t mean it like that. I wasn’t making fun of you, I was just a little shocked that’s all.”

“But you think it’s weird!” you cried out, refusing to meet his eyes.

“Well,” he scratched the back of his head, “I mean... you really want me to wear it?”

You sniffled and nodded.

“And this turns you on?”

You nodded again, facing him. “I just, I think it’s so sexy when a man can embrace his sexuality like this you know?”

“I guess... do you just want me to try it on?”

“That’d be nice,” you rubbed the side of your arm, “Maybe you could even wear it today when we go out? It’ll be under your shorts so no one will see.”

“Are you kidding me? N-”

Your puppy-dog eyes stopped him dead in his tracks, threatening to burst into tears again. Boy, was this guy putty in your hands.

He sighed, swiping the underwear from your hand. “Fine, but we do not mention this to any of my friends, got it?”

You quickly shook your head with an excited smile, knowing damn well the thong was high-cut.

Minutes later, he emerged from the bathroom, giving you a little show of his new undergarments. You had to admit, under all those baggy shorts laid a nice pair of perky buns. The sight of him trying to body roll on the floor made you fall back cackling at his Magic Mike attempts.

Annalise definitely should’ve ordered a size up because his rising bulge was stretching out the lace that was clinging on for dear life. You had to shield your beet-red face.

The ring of the doorbell sent JJ scurrying to find his pants while you walked to the front to answer it. In came his friends- John B, Kiara, and Pope- who you greeted just as the blonde sauntered out of his room as if nothing was fishy was going on.

“So, who’s ready to hit the water?” John B asked as the guys gathered up the fishing equipment.

You followed the herd out to the docks where the famous HMS Pogue sat. JJ walked a little ahead of you and Kiara, casually picking at the wedgie through his shorts. Kiara scrunched her nose in disgust while you snorted and had to bite your lip from bursting out laughing.

Riding along the marsh, you chatted with Kiara on the back deck while the boys casted the net at the front. She raved all about the new tarot deck she bought and even practiced some palm readings on you. You didn’t know her very well, seeing as she attended the Kook school, but you were glad she was easy to get along with.

“So what’s the deal with you and JJ?” she asked out of nowhere. From the corner of your eye, you could see Pope do a discreet double-take at her question.

“Um, I’m not really sure,” you answered, “We’re just hanging out, I guess.”

“Well, you’re the first girl he’s ever brought to hang out with us,” she revealed, “Or even really hung out with in general, for that matter.”

A sharp gasp from the boys snapped you both out of your conversation. There, at the tip of the boat, was JJ bending over the net with the prominent lacy bows of his g-string exhibited for the world to see.

John B and Pope doubled over cackling like a pack of hyenas. “JJ what the actual fuck!”

The blonde whipped upright instantly once he caught on, hand flying to cover his backside. His entire face went the brightest shade of red. “Shut the fuck up! Or I’ll kill you both!”

Pope fell to the wooden floor of the deck, trying to regain his breath from the laughter as John B doubled over on top of him.

“Stop it you guys!” Kiara scolded at the boys who were practically in tears. She had to hold back a few giggles herself. “If JJ wants to wear that then let him! I think it’s,” she accidentally snorted, “I think it’s cool!”

JJ fastened his shorts and began play-fighting the hyenas. Meanwhile you filled your girls chat in on the hilarious scene, trying to muffle your own snickering.

“You want to be a what when you grow up?”

“A hairstylist,” you repeated through the phone. You hoped the pitch change in your voice wasn’t too much to give yourself away. Nevermind the fact that you knew nothing about hair as yours was always wet from surfing.

“Uh okay,” JJ responded, “That was kinda unexpected but you do you I guess.”

You slouched on the old-fashioned armchair in Annalise’s condo while your friends gathered around to listen in on yours and JJ’s call. A fit of snickers and shushes flew through the room as they tried to suppress their noise.

“Yeah, I’ve been wanting to practice on people for a while now. I need to have experience to get into this beauty school I’ve been looking at,” you went on, “Do you think I could try something on you tomorrow?”

You heard him scratch through the line. “Uh, why me? You don’t have any other friends that you could do it on?”

“Because JJ! You’re like the only blonde I know. And I really want to perfect my bleaching skills. C’mon please! It’ll only be like a shade lighter. You’ll hardly even notice,” you promised in your well-rehearsed begging voice.

“I’m not sure about this one, Y/n. It seems a little risky. Pope and John B are still ragging me for the underwear.”

“Hmph,” you took the phone and held it closer to you, “Come onnnn JJ! I swear it’ll be fine. Please just do me this teensy little thing. I might even return the favor.” Your voice sang at the last bit.

He hiked in a long breath. “F-Fine. Just promise me it won’t be noticeable!”

“Promise!” you cheered as the quad around you erupted in their silent happy dances. “Okay I’m going to go now, see you tomorrow before Sarah’s birthday Loverboy!” You sent him air kisses through the phone and hung up.

“Men are so easy!” Sophia drawled, taking a huge bite of her ice cream pint.

“You’re getting so good at this y/n!” Arabella pretend to wipe away tears, “I’m such a proud mama!”

Maia whisked into her room and popped out seconds later, handing you a bottle of squeeze hair dye. “Here it is. Use it wisely young grasshopper.”

You showed up to JJ’s house the next day. Thankfully, his dad was out a work so you had the entire house to yourself. Lord knows you needed it with the mild trauma you were about to put this boy through.

You had JJ sit in the bathroom, away from the mirror with his head leaned back and eyes closed. Clumsily, you applied the dye like the Youtube video you watched the night before. Needless to say, you were getting it everywhere- on your clothes, JJ’s clothes, the counters.

It was a disaster. But you played it cool, reminding JJ to keep his eyes shut or the dye will burn them. After wrapping his head in foil sheets and waiting 20 minutes, you bent him over the shower and washed everything out.

Drying his still covered hair in the towel, you yanked it off him as he turned to the mirror and let out a deafening, ear-splitting shriek.

“WHAT THE FUCK! OH MY GOD!”

JJ looked like he was about to cry, horror-stricken, at his bright new bubblegum pink hair.

“What the fuck is this?! What am I going to do?!” he paced back and forth in the clustered bathroom, “Sarah’s surprise party is tonight! John B’s gonna kill me if I don’t go! People can’t see me like this!”

You bit your finger, glancing off to the side. “It was a mistake! I’m so sorry! It was supposed to be ash blonde but I might’ve gotten strawberry blonde instead.”

JJ grabbed your shoulders, desperation drowning his eyes. “You have to fix this right now y/n! We have to be at the beach in an hour!”

“You can’t bleach it again right now,” you protested, “You’ll fry your hair and then it’ll look like a bird’s nest!”

“Then what are we going to do?! I can’t go outside like this!”

“Chug! Chug! Chug!”

Throwing your head back, you finished the remains of the beer and tossed the cup into a nearby bin. The small crowd yelped as you threw your hands up.

JJ crept up behind you and lifted you in the air, spinning you around. “Fuck yeah y/n!”

You patted on the backwards cap on his head and he let you back down, pecking your cheek.

Minutes before you guys arrived, he was able to rummage through is drawers for a hat big enough to stuff his Strawberry Shortcake hair into. Some specks still peeked out underneath, but, in the dark, you couldn’t really tell the island’s golden boy was now a pink poodle.

The birthday girl, Sarah Cameron, skipped over to the group around you and thanked everyone for coming. She had her fingers linked with her new boo and party organizer, John B, as she hugged all her friends.

You met her briefly after the big ‘surprise’ chant when she first arrived. When she referred to you as ‘JJ’s girl’ in front of everyone, you blushed and ignored her comment even though her and basically all the girls there were wondering the same thing.

If only they knew.

In your peripheral, you spotted your sabotage squad casually stroll into the beach and blend in with the pack of dancing kids. It was time to initiate Plan D.

As the party progressed, you clung onto JJ side due to the fact that you hardly knew anyone there. You sat in his lap during a few drinking games and he even held you up while you did a keg stand.

You were both dancing tipsy for a bit near the bonfire. His hands roamed your body while you pressed your ass to his crotch. You giggled when he bent over and kissed up your neck.

“It’s getting kind of crowded now,” you mentioned at the growing swarm of people. Word probably got out about the party which definitely drew the hordes of tourists that were arriving by the dozen. JJ hummed against your skin.

“We could get out of here for a bit,” you suggested, “Maybe go for a little dip in the water?”

You felt his ears perk. He eyed you questioningly while you sauntered away from him and the throng of people, motioning for him to follow.

And he did. Just like a lost puppy.

Both of you moved to a secluded section of the beach. The waves were calmer, and the music from the party muffled against the sound of the water crashing.

“What is your cute little ass up to now,” JJ teased as you peeled off your top to set on a rock, revealing a sexy push-up black bikini. Again, one of Maia’s.

“Come on! Let’s swim for a bit,” you coaxed, slipping out of your shorts. He grinned when you backed towards the water.

Here goes nothing.

Sultrily, you undid the back string of your bathing suit and flung it onto the sand. JJ’s lips parted slightly. You swore his spirit left his body for a moment.

You bit your lip. Still locking eye contact, you discarded your bottoms next.

Twirling your nude body around, ass in full view, you cocked your head back at the awestruck teenage boy. “What? Cat’s got your tongue? Are you gonna come in or just stand there?”

You’d never seen anyone undress at the speed JJ did, sans hat and everything. “Oh my God!” you squealed at the sight of him stepping out of the pink thong you gave him, “I can’t believe you wear those still!”

He darted towards you and the ocean, the smile on his face stretched all the way to his sculpted cheek bones. “Hey, you like them and they make my ass look good. It’s a win-win for everyone!”

You also couldn’t help but notice his, uh, junk that was swinging while he ran with you. One peep at it and everything clicked in your head as to why women were obsessed with him. It was a very pleasing sight.

Knees deep in the water, his hands drew up your sides. He ogled at your bare body, radiated by nothing but the moon, and you shifted a bit to make sure his back was fully facing the shore.

“You’re so beautiful,” he rasped, resting his hands just atop the swell of your butt. “Fuck,” he purred, “C’mere.”

Bending down, he crashed his lips onto yours, stroking up and down your backside. With one eye open, you peeked towards the rocks where two dark shadows hunched over and scurried away swiftly.

Turning your attention back to the kiss, you briskly pulled away and splashed him before he could react.

“Oh you wanna play huh?” he taunted and lunged at you while you playfully shrieked.

You giggled as he picked you up, hand under your neck and knees, spinning you around a few times before dropping you at a slightly deeper end. You floated back up and splashed at him again with all your might.

JJ swam towards you and wrapped your legs around his waist under the water, only your heads above the water at this point. “You’re so fun,” he gushed, kissing you again, a little more forcefully this time.

You two stayed that way for a bit until you heard the kids from the party faintly singing ‘Happy Birthday’.

“Fuck!” you shouted before scrambling out the water with JJ on your trail. You were able to pick up your bikini from the sand and pull it on. But once you got back to the rock, the only thing left was a single pink thong.

“Where the fuck did our clothes go?!” JJ hollered, outraged.

“Oh my God!” you joined, “Maybe some raccoons took them!”

Not even bothering with your preposterous presumption, he held his hands up to his head in stress. “What the fuck am I gonna do? I have to go back through the party to even get to the car! And I have fucking pink hair!”

“Uhh, maybe you could swim through the water past them? I could meet you on the other side with a towel.”

“Okay okay! Just hurry!” he urged, hurrying back into the water in just the skimpy underwear.

You jogged back to the party that died down by quite a bit. Only close friends remained.

“Where’s JJ?” Pope asked as you surveyed the area, “He missed the whole cake. We were looking for a lighter for ages.”

You merely shrugged. “Not sure, maybe he left for a bit?”

Pope glanced around, confused until a voice- Sophia’s voice- shrieked from the sides. “Oh my gosh is that JJ?!”

A few gasps emitted from the crowd as Arabella and Annalise shone their flashlights at the bubblegum head perched on top of the water.

“JJ what the fuck are you doing?!” John B yelled, “And why the fuck is your hair pink?!”

JJ looked as if he’d seen a ghost. He laughed sheepishly, “Yeah about that I-”

Before he could finish, the tide pulled out to reveal the fuchsia g-string on his hips. John B face palmed himself and shielded Sarah’s eyes from the indecent scene.

The party exploded in laughter, Pope and Kiara fell to their knees on the sand, joining the mass.

Middle fingers in the air, JJ dashed through the roaring flock and to the car. “Fuck you all! But happy birthday Sarah!”

on a scale of one to ten, how much do you love honkai impact?

11/10. I have never been this invested in a game’s story and I’ve logged on more than 99% of the days since I started playing on August 11, 2018. I’ve cried more at this than anything else This doesn’t mean that I can’t recognize its flaws but also it‘s like it was hand crafted to my tastes.

Science Fantasy? Fuck Yeah!

I just fucking love having fantasy monsters in the same setting as fucking laser swords and rail-guns and floating battleships. Going to the space between universes! Defying fate! Fighting to save the world! Killing God!! And the Honkai is basically just magic as a force of nature that is super evil. I also like that it features zombies without being a stupid zombie virus apocalypse. It’s also just easy for me to think about this way too much and make things far too complex in my head, but that can be fun too.

WLW? Fuck yeah x8 characters! Or x4 if we’re counting relationships.

Best representation I’ve ever seen. Although I will admit my only other exposure is dramatic realistic LGBT stories, not stories where the characters get to slice giant monsters in half.

Mei and Kiana have such a good angst filled dynamic I scream, I love them. Bronya and Seele are so cute I feel like I’m going to get diabetes. Kallen and Sakura never get a happy ending and it’s tragic and heartbreaking. Bianka and Rita. I’m a lesbian, I love seeing lesbians just,,,, exist in media. The story isn’t about coming out, or about these characters falling in love, or overcoming homophobia. They just kick ass and how the relationships effect the story is so GOOD. And you FuMiko and FuKi shippers get plenty of food too even if it’s not canon. Also Siegfried and Cecilia get a shoutout. Even if they’re straight I’m including them here in the positive lovely section because they are so wholesome.

Characters with actual depth who I can actually get invested in way too much? FUCK! YEAH!

I have strong opinions on every single character in this story. Except Bianka, but that’s a whole other problem. They’ve made me care so much.

I just, I love them SO MUCH! I won’t go into detail cause that’d be too long. Just ask me about individual characters if you want my opinion.

I just wish that we got more victories now and then. It’s chapter 21 and the last happy ending was in chapter 12. Doesn’t mean what we’ve gotten isn’t good, it’s wearing me down a bit. Don’t want this story to become grimdark.

If we’re talking about the gameplay itself. I think it’s pretty good. Hack and slash isn’t my favorite genre but I still find it enjoyable to be competitive and sometimes wind up with pretty good scores. A Post-Honkai Odyssey has a really cool combat system adding jumping and airborne fighting into the mix. Less friendly to new players if they want to be competitive than it was before. I do hope they do something about that in the near future otherwise it will kill the game for anybody who isn’t willing to whale. But getting crystals is still easy enough if you save them for what you want/need. Once you’re at level 80+ if you do well you can get upward of 1,000 crystals a week. Doesn’t mean you’ll have good luck in the gacha, I did 54 pulls for Dea Anchora and got nothing whoops. But if it means the game is free I’m okay with that because you don’t need the gacha to continue the story.

If I keep going this post won’t ever go up because I’ll keep finding things I love. And I’m probably rambling and making no sense. I haven’t even included everything I’ve thought of because then this would become a novella. Just a rapid fire list: the art, the designs of everything from characters to weapons, the animations they make for the game to kick you in the heart, Kiana Kaslana’s entire existence, Himeko, the love that these characters show each other despite all the pain they’ve been through themselves.

In summary, Yeah I like the game. You should give it a try if you haven’t.

would the officers (winters, nixon, etc.) have had to participate in hand to hand combat training or would they be leading it???

This is a great question, Nonnie - and the simple answer is...I don't know for sure. But I can give you my educated guess based on a couple of documents.

In Episode One, we see Harry giving a classroom exercise on map reading - he's wearing his bomber jacket and is talking about sines and cosines and looks to be talking to a group of sergeants. In the next shot, we see Lipton (a sergeant) giving a lecture on prepared positions while his platoon is actually digging. This gives us the sense that many of these skills were being taught to others just as soon as the teachers themselves had learned them.

In The Officer's Guide (9th edition, published July 1942, which I happen to have in my personal library) in the chapter entitled "Exercise of Command" the book details many methods for "The Conduct of Instruction" - essentially ways to teach soldiers different types of actions or responsibilities. One of the methods of instruction is "demonstration" where it says

"In basic military training it will be found that demonstrations can be used to advantage in giving instructions in such subjects as

a) the soldier dismounted

b) the squad

c) individual equipment

d) the shelter tent

e) interior guard duty

f) individual cooking

g) motor driver training

h) first aid and bandaging

i) military courtesy

j) physical training

In FM20-21, Field Manual for Physical Training (1946) which you can read online at that link, Chapter 13 is on 'Combative Activity' and includes combative contests, wrestling (sure to be a favorite with Winters, who wrestled in college) hand-to-hand fighting, and boxing. So it's in the manual.

At the beginning of the Conduct of Instruction chapter, as they're discussing how instruction should be done, one of the bullet points under "The Preparation of Instructors" says the following: "The instructor must have mastered the subject which he is to teach. He must analyze the subject and a schedule he is to follow, considering the purpose of the subject and the essential facts which must be taught."

So. Physical training should be done by demonstration, and the instructors should have a thorough knowledge of their subject, which means they had to learn it from someone else - probably during their own basic training or OCS course - and as a good demonstrator, would be participating in the training by showing how its done.

Again, this is all speculation and best guesses on my part - as most of the military matters in TDS are! Hope this helps!

WZ @theroommatedilema . March 27 all that out of the way, we can now get to the live tweet. hot chef was doing his laundry so he was walking around the apartment shirtless. smart aleck walked into a wall, not once, not twice, but three times. hot chef didn't help this when he put on an apron

WZ @theroommatedilema . March 28 smart aleck started the day by almost burning down our kitchen trying to make breakfast to impress hot chef. luckily i was awake and stopped things before there was a grease fire, before making breakfast myself. they both seemed to like it.

April 5 pets = yes one. smart aleck has a pet cat named goat he inherited from a past roommate. goat the cat tries to eat anything and everything, thus the name. she particularly likes to eat house plants. she likes smart aleck the least, hot chef the most. i hold a pretty solid 2nd place.

WZ @theroommatedilema . April 21 for those asking what happen: dinner was made with no issue. I was in charge of the main dish and that left HC to work on side dishes. SA even helped wash and chop some vegetables. goat took some chicken right off SA’s plate and ran away with it growling.
