Levi and somniphilia is the best scenario
Like you'll both be sleeping and he'll be having spicy dream and all of a sudden his tail is slowly pushing your panties to the side and pushing in
And the best part is you'll wake up but he'll still be sleeping!!

Taillllll tail!!! Shkshsuywjababa wjgejsgs- oh fuck his tail!
Cuddling in his bathtub always means you’re basically laying on top of Levi in your big comfy t-shirt and underwear.
Levi’s arms and tail usually wrap around you, pulling you closer in his sleep as he mumbles your name.
Slowly his tail uncurls from around your middle and snakes it’s way down your legs, sliding just the tip underneath your underwear, rubbing around almost tantalizingly slow between your folds, moving and teasing your clit.
The sudden pleasure spiking through you jerks you awake and Levi’s arms instinctively wrap tighter around you at the same moment his tail slides its way inside your eager sex earning a breathy moan form you. You bite into your lip to keep quiet.
And his tail speeds up on your clit and you can’t stop the whine of Levi’s name that slips past your lips, utter need laced into the word not that he can hear you.
His tail continues it’s work, shifting and twisting in on itself a little so the thicker part is stroking back and forth between your folds as the tip continues playing with your clit, working you closer and closer to your orgasm.
You keep your legs spread as his tail sides in and out of you, slightly increasing his pace. The thought of being so full of him and of him needing you this bad even in his sleep helps push you closer too.
You whine with need, thoughts rendering completely incoherent as your brain starts short-circuits, only able to focus on the pleasure you practically crave now~
Your back arches, which ends up urging his tail deeper inside you, and it doesn’t seem to mind, working its way and going so deep it hits that spot inside you that leaves you panting and moaning as you cum.
A louder cry of Levi’s name on your lips, has the demon jerking half awake, his tail slips out of you and he see it covered in your slick ‘n cum, “Fuck….that’s hot…” he mumbles, still mostly out of it as he presses a few hot, open mouthed kisses to your neck and cheeks. “You did so good for me…….M-MC, so good…” and Levi’s already falling back into whatever wet dream he was having.

Brothers Finding Out a Lesser Demon with a Crush is “Moving In” on MC
You know, I like to show the good sides of our boys a lot… But how about the ugly for today? Let's let them just being mean, nasty, possessive little demons, huh?
Full disclaimer: I almost didn’t post this because I received an answer post from @diavolosthots that ended up being distressingly similar to this idea about 3/4th of the way through drafting it. I’m posting it anyway because of the time I’ve already sunk into it but in exchange I will absolutely encourage you to read from @diavolosthots if you aren’t already. They’re a big reason why I’m making content to begin with and I love what they’ve done. Warning: their blog is a LOT less fluffy than mine (they probably wouldn't be into my stuff 😅) and has NSFW content so be prepared for that going in. If that’s not your thing then just give them a pass, cool?
Check out the Masterlist for more!
Warnings: Violence, Bullying, Cyberbullying, Cannibalism(?), Murder, Yandere-ish
This is all for the purposes of fantasy and in no way an endorsement for these behaviors in real life. Be nice (and smart) with your lives, my friends.
Lucifer
Is honestly offended for them.
Don’t they know the caliber of demon MC rubs elbows with every day? Do they honestly think they’d stand a chance? Any one of his brothers would be more deserving than some lesser demon suitor and that even INCLUDES Mammon.
But of course, the real reason they’d stand no chance is because he wants the MC too and he’s not planning on sharing with or losing to someone who isn’t even worthy to be stuck under his boot...
He may lay down some… “discreet” hints for the poor demon to look elsewhere.
Things like advising Diavolo to make some emergency changes to the classes at RAD so they no longer share any class together or watching the demon extra closely for any minute slip up he can flag them for. If he could have them expelled for a dress code violation, he’d do it no sweat.
Okay, "discreet hints…" Flagrant misuses of power… Same difference right?
He may never come right out and say they should leave MC alone (why dignify the guy with such a response?) but if looks could kill then his “competition” would be utterly decimated by now. Especially if he ever catches the two in the same room... Yikes.
Mammon
Oooo buddy, he ain’t happy. He doesn’t even like sharing with his brothers and now some rando wants a piece too?? Nuh-uh. No way.
Takes the more direct approach and just confronts the guy when the MC isn’t around. It's good for the demon that Mammon doesn’t like resorting to violence if he doesn’t have to. Heated words and a threat or two will be exchanged then they can go their separate ways.
That can be the end of it if the guy backs off (as anyone with sense should). But if not…
When he makes a threat, and he’s serious about it, Mammon makes good on them.
He’ll come back to the House one night a little beat up, maybe with a few nicks and scratches. Of course he’ll want the MC to play nurse for him and he’ll be delighted if they accept (even if his tsundere ass won’t say it).
The lesser demon apparently dropped out of RAD the next day. No explanation given. He didn’t even step foot back on the school grounds to do it...
Of course, everyone’s sure there’s no relation between the two. I mean, this is the same Mammon we’re talking about… right...?
Leviathan
It’s a miracle he even found out but now that he knows he’s pissed. He’s not the Avatar of Envy for nothing.
Look, he might be a shut-in and not worth all that much but he’s got to be better than some lesser demon guy! He’s the third born and he has a freaking navy for crying out loud!!
Will likely leave his room for the first time in who knows how long to follow the MC to RAD. Once he’s got a face to the name, that’s all he needs for his hatred to really get going...
He will make this dude’s life a living hell with the best tool a shut-in has, the Internet.
He’ll dedicate a freaking week to digging up dirt on this bozo then start releasing it out to everywhere he frequents. Not a single sock of that dirty laundry is getting left out. All of his most embarrassing secrets are laid bare for the Devildom to see.
He’d cover his tracks, of course, so nothing can be traced back to him. The MC is probably none-the-wiser to who’s spreading all this hot gossip but his brothers know right away.
Once the dude’s social life and pride are in utter ruin, he’ll invite the MC over for a movie marathon to celebrate! He might even get a little more cuddly than usual... His MC is with him and that’s how it ought to be.
Satan
Pffft… That’s cute. Real cute they think they stand a chance. He’d wish them luck but he also kind of wants to stab them so…
On the one hand, he knows he probably shouldn’t waste his time but on the other he just can’t resist the call to absolute devastation that his inner rage is forcing on him...
His new goal is to utterly undermine the new competition in every way, mental and physical, which means he will take every opportunity he can to demonstrate just how much on another level he is.
Gets nitpicky and corrects the guy’s every move. If he says something wrong in class, he’ll berate him for it. Make a social faux pas? Well now the whole school is going to know about it.
Doesn’t stop there, though. He will do everything in his power short of throwing the first punch to try and instigate a fight with the him. He knows that if he technically starts it then the punishment will be on him, but the other way around he can say, “Hey, he’s the one who punched Wrath incarnate. What was he expecting would happen?”
Any resulting fight between the two would be a very one-sided bloodbath. He will not hold back at all and stop when he damn well feels like. The guy will be in whatever the Devildom equivalent to a hospital is for weeks...
If the MC tries to ask him about his behavior, he’ll gaslight them and change the subject. He doesn’t really like indulging in the more violent side of himself in his day-to-day life but some things just can’t be helped, can they?
Asmodeus
Honestly not as bothered as the others are. He knows they stand zero chance, so why worry? It’s bad for the skin.
But that doesn’t mean he’s going to sit back and do nothing. Oh no, a zero chance could always become a one, even five percent chance if you’re not careful.
Asmo’s preferred method of ridding competition is like a mixture of Satan and Levi, but Oh. So. Much. Worse.
Lesser demons can be astonishingly easy to charm without them noticing and he is the best charmer of the family. He’s pretty popular to start with but suddenly he’s talking to almost everyone he comes across until, well, he’s got the whole school listening.
From there it’s child’s play. Suddenly, the demon’s friends won’t talk to them. People stare and whisper about them in the hallways, is what they’re saying true? Doesn’t matter. Asmo could feed them anything and they’d believe it.
He’ll make sure they feel isolated, alone, and hated by everyone they speak to and they won’t even know why. Going to RAD at all will be like walking into a prison. Ideally, they’ll just stop going, and then tada! Competition no more.
Of course, he could just charm the competitor to look elsewhere, but then who’s going to be the example to the others? Nobody needs any more “Zero-Chancers” popping up around the MC, right? You’re welcome, sweetie~! 😘
Beelzebub
He’s trying not to be that guy, he really is… but since the MC is involved… Really? You actually think you got a shot there, buddy?
Probably going to be the brother most likely to try and let the guy down gently at first, but make no mistake he will make sure he knows it’s a lost cause.
If the other demon still insists on being a competitor though… Alright.
MC pretty much goes under his “protection” from that point on. If they’re at RAD at all, Beel is not far behind. Not exactly looking outright intimidating but always just…. there.
But if the dude so much as enters a room with them he’ll be sure to stare him down and mention that he’s hungry a little louder and a lot more often.
To the MC that may just be typical Beel, but everyone else there knows Beel has swallowed lesser demons whole in the past. And for a lot less reason than this...
When Beel gets territorial he can be a subtle about it, but terrifying nonetheless.
Belphegor
Would laugh in their face and give zero shits about it.
Like, even as the weakest sibling he could snap them like a toothpick and that’s not even getting to how they probably know jack all about the MC anyway. What even is this idiot??
Starts pulling some casual “pranks” on the guy to grief him at first. Little things like tripping him up with his tail or taking his things and hiding them in inconvenient places.
The lazy part of him hopes he’ll get the message and back off but that sadistic side really hopes he doesn’t so he’ll never talk to him directly...
When, of course, the dude doesn’t back off because he doesn't know he's supposed to, his pranks start escalating. A textbook in the school pool suddenly becomes an explosive curse put on their backpack. A kind of homicidal passive-aggression, if you will.
By some unholy miracle the guy manages to last a couple days after a barrage of progressively lethal murder attempts pranks, Belphie’s inner laziness and frustration will finally get to him and he’ll cut the passive from his aggression.
Much like with Mammon, everyone finds out that the demon dropped out of school quite suddenly. But he’s also seemed to have gone dark from all his socials and his friends can’t seem to find him anywhere...
Concerns were raised with Lucifer but he doesn’t seem very enthusiastic about starting an investigation... It’s not the first time he’s covered for his brothers after all. 🙄🤷‍♀️

Fantasy AU!Levi Ackerman X Fem!Reader
Part One - No Feelin’ - Part Three - No Regrets
A/N: SO I wrote a piece for a Discord Event and ummm I wrote a part two? instead of anything else I have backed up? In my drafts? And ask box? Oopsie? - Nemo
Summary: A year past, and word from you has been scarce to none. After leaving Levi high and dry last time, he’d been preparing for your return ever since. What he didn’t expect was to see you so suddenly - sitting atop the throne he was supposed to protect.
Warnings: Violence. Language. Character Death. Blood (I feel I should emphasise this one, it’s... gorey. For me). Mentions of rape. Slight Misogyny. More of my bad poetry. MC says Zeke has a small pp.
Listening to: ‘MORE’ by K/DA (slowed) - ‘When I go it’s for gold yeah, they cool but I’m cold. I don’t fit in the mold, I’m a rebel.’

There was something about the eerie silence that followed your first ‘visit’ that set Levi on edge.
He remembered how quiet you were as his subordinate. How you stood back and watched when you could, but managed to surprise everyone when you had to get in and get dirty like all those others training to be a knight. He wondered what he could’ve done to change things, to have stopped you from becoming that monster he fought in the throne room.
He knew there was nothing he could do about that now, but something about those last words you spoke to him - ‘find your advantage’ - they just stuck with him.
He knew the sword he was given was special. That it had abilities that no human blacksmith could’ve given it. It gave him strength. Immunity. It could heal, rebuild, and it gave him the ability to endure. Yours was not like that.
The people the King put in charge of studying it said it was destructive. That everyone who tried to wield it in the past had suffered nothing but pain, and in trying to control the power it held they’d only succeeded in killing themselves.
Levi knew that you were not like them. Not before. Not a year ago. He knew, not now either.
“You’re very diligent in welcoming me back, Little Captain.”
And how he hated it.
He was left frozen in shock, watching you as you sat atop the throne - legs crossed, the fingers of one hand tangled in the hair of the old king’s body-less head, while the other held that damn sword. The crimson of his blood matched your tainted skin, dribbling down your arms to match your bright veins, and the color of your dreaded blade.
It was like the color of corruption was red, and you were so soaked in it that it stained the floor. With that thought he could almost fool himself into thinking it wasn’t the king’s blood at all.
Except for the stench of it. It was like he was punched in the face with the reek.
“Oh don’t look so surprised,” you said, tutting at him and waving the kings head in his direction, “I thought you would’ve been preparing for my return.”
“You weren’t supposed to come back.”
“Oh, but the king was sitting so nicely on his throne just then, I had to.” You said, letting the head drop to the floor. It rolled down the stairs, meeting it’s limp and pale counterpart. “Can you just imagine my joy when he was here to welcome me with a pretty little concubine between his legs. I couldn’t help myself!”
“You’re insane!” he said, taking his sword in his hand and rushing up the stairs to be met with the tip of your sword at his throat.
“Ah ah,” you said, “You pledged your life to the crown, to serve and protect. I killed the old king, now the crown is mine.”
He grit his teeth, cursing himself for not noticing. For not being fast enough. Then, and now.
“Bow. To your new Queen.”
Tumblr media
Levi would never admit how easily he obeyed you.
Despite knowing he had the power to over-power you, he didn’t dare use it.
The old King - Fritz - had not been laid to rest. As far as he knew you had him turned to garden mulch. Him and anyone who decided you weren’t fit to wear the crown.
He had to say, the rebellion that broke out once your position was made public - from those that wanted you gone, and those who thought that meant they could break the law because you did - was silenced much quicker than he’d seen a rebellion be silenced in his whole life.
You slaughtered those who stood at the castles gate, pushing those who wanted you gone with a heel to the back of their heads. They who rebelled against you had a choice - die like those who banged on the drawbridge, and have their blood and innards join the muck in the moat, or submit like the knights.
Then you took to the streets and made those who deserved it pay back what they had taken. If they stole from a market stall, they returned with interest. If they decided to rape, their manhood was taken. If they decided to kill, they paid with their own lives in turn.
So despite your aloof yet demanding nature, your lack of empathy, and love of - putting it lightly - a hunt, you made peace reign over the kingdom. That was something all the knights could admit.
“She’s kinda hot though.” His eyes snapped over to a newer knight, Flotch, who was muttering to Jean, who was in turn doing a very good job of ignoring him. “You know, if you take away the creepy eyes, and those nasty veins on her arms. I’d tap that.”
He had to resist from groaning. Of course there’d be people lewding their new ruler - a murderous one no less - and one of such people had to be one of his subordinates.
“Seriously though, look -”
“- Watch your tongue, young one.” A voice said, and Levi did a doubletake to find you behind Flotch with a clawed hand around his throat. “Diminish me to a piece of flesh like that again and I’ll brand your forehead with a big fat ‘M’.”
“W-what’s that supposed to mean?” he slurred, his own grip now ghosting over yours.
“‘Misogynist’.” you hissed, tightening your grip on his throat before withdrawing, leaving dripping red marks behind. He stood still for a few short moments, then doubled-over, clutching his neck and letting out garbled noises of pain.
“Serves him right.” Jean said, stepping past Levi and over Flotch’s legs to follow you as you walked away.
Tumblr media
“Something needs to be done about him.” you mused.
“I agree. For once.” Levi said, stepping to his side to face you before mumbling an addition, “I bet his ass looks as hairy as an ape.” You barked out a laugh - loud, and as smooth as whiskey.
“That would account for the little monkey he’s hiding in his basement.” you said, leaning down to hush the comment in his ear. Levi could tell that there wasn’t an actual monkey, nor a basement, and a rushed glance down Zeke’s body also told him it wasn’t entirely true, however you had been everything but subtle about anything anymore.
“Do you want war?” Zeke asked, covered eyes narrowing over at you. You tutted him, reminding Levi about the time you directed such an action at him - taunting with his failure of protecting the old king.
“Would you go to war over a dick joke?”
He wouldn’t. That Levi knew. No one was petty or childish enough to go to war with another whole-ass country just because it’s ruler said your dick was small. But Zeke was unpredictable.
“I’d advise against it, personally.” you said, tapping your nails along the oak table, “It’s so mediocre. If I were to go to war with you I’d do something much more grand.”
“Like what?”
You smiled, wide and wicked, and Levi was reminded again of who you were. You’d beheaded the old king like he was just an unneeded piece of paper. You’d painted the castle moat red. Despite the good that was no doubt still there - somewhere - you were still very much evil.
You were still corrupt.
You raised a hand, performing a universal signal that meant to wait, and then a man came in. Huffing and sweaty, with eyes wide and broken.
“Ze- you highne- Sir.”
“- What?” Zeke asked, turning in his chair. Clearly unimpressed.
“Our capital. They… She attacked it!” Zeke turned back around, now looking much angrier.
“What?”
“Oh, it’s nothing major.” You said, waving him off as if he were just a child complaining about his socks not matching. “But your place of residence might have a few scorch marks now.”
Zeke stood abruptly, drawing his sword, and causing a chain reaction. You mirrored him, drawing your own - abhit longer and glowing red in aggression. Levi drew his, as did the other guards, Erwin and Miche. And the two with Zeke drew theirs as well.
There wasn’t a single person in the room that didn’t have a sword on them, and not even Levi could say he wasn’t on edge. But you? You just laughed, lowering your weapon.
“Okay, this is stupid. Let’s just -”
“If you call burning my city ‘stupid’, then I’d love to know what you’d call me lathering your streets in your blood.”
“Oh,” you cooed, “Looks like I struck a nerve. Or maybe you’re on your period?”
“Quiet!” He yelled, pushing his sword closer to you. “Or do you want me to slice off your tongue.”
“I’d like to see you try.”
Tumblr media
He tried.
And much like anyone else who crossed your path, he was lucky to have just left with his tail between his legs. However, him being Zeke, had to leave behind something to be remembered by.
This particular time it was in the form of a huge gash, spanning across your shoulder and up your neck.
Despite your all-powerful nature, the power your sword gave you was not one that could heal. It took what it was given, and it corrupted it. So even if all Zeke gave you was a scratch, the power of your sword meant it took that scratch, and made it into a cut. Oozing blood, and pulsating with a pain that made you wince with every heartbeat.
You skulked away towards your chambers, a bottle of alcohol in your hand, and closed the door behind you.
Levi knew that it could very well kill you. That’s what you were warned of. It would give the kingdom a chance to regain a sane ruler. It would be good if you died.
‘From chaos to healing, is where to gain the sealing;
Where they be kneeling, you’ll have no feeling.’
Those were the words you told him the first time you met. But later, after you started ruling and he became your own personal guard, you told him there was more. There were ruins. Books. A whole civilization even. Those two phrases were just a part of a whole. A whole that you knew.
‘The one who stops the war, to try and reach the core;
Along the gentle shore, they will gain more.’
There was more to that sword than just corruption, and there was more to his sword than just healing.
Leaning against the wall outside your room, he took his sword in his hands, watching as the symbols along it’s blade glowed up at him from the interaction.
He could save you, but would it be worth it?

Garden and Lace
I've done a ton of revision and edits on this one, so I'm posting the better version here. Enjoy!
By the end of their mission, Levy is over Natsu and Lucy's arguing. She decides to take matters into her own hands. To finally have some peace and quiet, she traps them in her little glass bottle that houses her secret garden. With lots of time to kill, Natsu and Lucy must make up, but Lucy has other sensual plans of revenge.

Technically they had succeeded in their mission, but Levy Mcgarden felt far from successful on their way back to Magnolia. They completed the job, but in usual Fairy Tail fashion, they did not receive a reward. This didn't bother her. She only wanted to get out of her house. What irritated her was her partners' constant fighting. Natsu and Lucy were her close friends that she would lay down her life for, as they have done for her on many occasions. At that moment, however, all she wanted was to shove her fists in each one of their faces. This jarred her, as Levy was the nonviolent type. She needed to devise the perfect plan to ease her headache and still make it to Magnolia in time to see the next sunset. Levy sighed as their voices rose over the trees. She could barely pick up the sound of wings fluttering above them. Even the birds could not tolerate them. She hadn't expected much from their simple escort mission, only to get out of the house. Gajeel had left with Lily on another stealth mission for the master, so she felt compelled to depart on her own. She'd originally felt grateful for the extended invitation from Lucy. Her friends became a couple only a week ago, although not officially. Lucy sat down with her before their mission to explain. At first, this amused Levy. She thought it would be a quiet mission with the two love birds. She would get her hands on some extra cash and get out of town for a few days. Instead, Levy heard nothing but arguing.
"You didn't have to destroy the whole building!" Lucy complained. The trio took a break and sat on rocks near a once peaceful river. The day hot enough without them spitting words at each other.
"What was I supposed to do? Let him get away?"
"You could have taken it outside!"
"I can't always control that!" Natsu retorted. Levy's head pounded from the constant noise. She understood Lucy's frustration, but she also empathized with Natsu. For this reason, she stayed out of the entire argument. At least they didn't drag her into their discussion. They needed a valuable time out together in a quiet space. Levy remembered the small bottle she kept in her bag. She pulled the bag over her shoulder and inspected its contents. Levy shoved her arm into the mouth of leather all the way to her shoulder, glad she had created a bag with such an immense extension. She continued to rummage around for the bottle. The bold letters on the front spelled out "bag" and moved along with her arm inside. At that moment, Natsu picked Lucy up and threw her over his shoulder. "That's it," he said.
"You put me down right now!" she exclaimed. Levy watched out of the corner of her eye as Natsu began to walk Lucy over to the river. They had completely forgotten Levy's presence. She needed to find the bottle quickly before Natsu did what she thought he would do.
"Ah-ha!" Levy called out too late, as Natsu hopped into the river, and Lucy screamed. A great splash followed the sound. Natsu threw his head back, water dripped from his hair, and laughed as Lucy stood up and outstretched her arms to grab him.
"That's enough!" Levy cried, stood up from her rock, and stomped to the river's edge, "I can't take any more of your arguing!" The small mage watched as they both glanced in her direction. They were hip deep in the river, completely soaked. "Now, you both get into this bottle and deal with your problems before my head explodes."
"Now Levy, we can talk this out," Lucy said, trying to reason with her in vain. They must have seen something dangerous in her expression.
"Yes, you can," Levy said, her smile evil and wide, "once you get into this bottle!" Their eyes followed Levy's quill, as she began to form words in the air. S-H-R-I-N-K.
"Wait!" Natsu called. The smoky words darted toward them and slammed them back into the air. The world around them spun with a gust of wind.
Lucy closed her eyes and waited for her body to land but didn't fall as hard as she expected to. The patch of grass she landed on was soft. She squinted her eyes in the dim light when the day turned to night. Lights twinkled in the distance through the trees. She sat up slowly and recalled what Levy had said to them. Lucy would apologize to her later. She didn't realize how much she and Natsu fought. As much as she loved him, Natsu infuriated her at times. His destructive behavior always got them into trouble. This time, all the reward money from their mission went to pay for damages the dragon slayer created. She did understand where Natsu came from, but the excuses never ended.
Lucy stood in cast shadows, and spots of lights rustled with the light breeze around her. They reminded her of little fairies dashing in and out of the brush. She shivered and wrapped her arms around her body with clothes still soaked from the river. The plants around her stretched out vast and foreign. Someone collected all of them and blended them together in one place. Lucy recalled the glass bottle in Levy's hand as the small woman lectured them. She must have sent them inside her bottle full of shrunken shrubs to get them out of her hair. Lucy brushed some grass off her blue skirt and pressed on through the strange foliage. Levy must have put a lot of work into her little terrarium. Some flowers Lucy had only seen in books. Some crawled up the trees, and some pushed through the dirt at her feet as she walked. She noticed the tiny purple petals sprouting from each step she took. She walked on with magic all around her—a chill against her skin. When the lights appeared closer, she moved a large jungle leaf to reveal the source of light.
A bright clearing between the massive plants revealed itself. An outdoor sitting area sat in the center draped in light netting. An inviting sizeable rug and pillows arranged on the lush grass. A short table with a turquoise tea set sat in the middle of the space. Above her, strung through the branches, tiny fairy lights lit everything in the clearing like stars. Bright insects weaved in and out of the tree canopies. Had Levy meant to punish them or reward them? Natsu. It was crucial she find him before he destroyed Levy's garden. Lucy inspected the opposite side of the clearing. She brushed the large leaves aside and stepped into the darkness.
"Natsu!" She waited for any other sound than the soft rustle from the wind through the trees. She heard something fall from a tree above her. With a small yelp, she backed up into the brush. Whatever fell from the sky had landed with a loud grunt. She heard a cough and knew what or who had fallen. "You scared me!" she said. Natsu lay on his back with furrowed brow and wet clothes. She stepped into the light and reached out her hand to him. His eyes opened slowly and gazed up at the tree where he had fallen.
"Lucy!" he exclaimed, taking her hand and hoisting himself up onto his feet, "Looks like there is no way out of here."
"What were you even doing up there?"
"Thought I could get a good look from the trees. Where are we exactly?" he asked.
"We're inside Levy's bottle," she replied, "I think this is her garden."
"How long do you think she'll keep us in here?"
"I assume until we get back to Magnolia." Lucy pushed past Natsu toward the sitting area. She wrapped her arms around her again with a shiver. He inspected her body with the movement. A light against her skin, warm and golden, cast shadows across her features.
"Lucy you're cold," he said. She continued to tremble; her eyes narrowed.
"Whose fault is that?" she accused. Natsu strolled around the sitting area—observed the plants around them. He squatted beside the tree line and squinted at a small twig that inched toward a bush like a caterpillar.
"This place is really cool," he decided. Lucy gazed at him from where she sat. His exquisite muscles moved suggestively beneath the soaked dark fabric against his tanned skin. The anger she felt for his usual antics subsided for the time being. Instead, her eyes darkened with the possibilities. She recalled all their intimate moments since they started seeing each other. She imagined the way his body moved beneath her thighs as she straddled him. If they were to spend hours together, trapped in a glass bottle of plants, she thought she would take advantage of it. Instead of pouting about Natsu's dunk in the river, her mind bloomed with ideas of revenge.
Natsu had never seen a place like this, more vivid than his own imagination. He wanted to ask Levy how she had created it all. Lucy might know. When he turned to her to ask, his mind silenced at the sight of her. Lucy's arms outstretched over the pillows, her hair draped around her in a golden display, and her eyes roamed his body like a hungry predator. Nothing grabbed his attention more than her white top, drenched from the river, clung to her skin to reveal hard pink nipples beneath the impeding fabric. Her eyes revealed no embarrassment, in fact, they invited him. He gravitated toward her like a moth.
"Lucy," he almost growled, "If you don't stop looking at me like that." If she invited him to take her here, could he promise her he wouldn't lose control?
"You'll what?" she teased. The look he gave her caused her to squirm. She'd play the temptress to catch him in her trap.
"Do I even have to answer that question?" he said. He didn't know what changed in Lucy to forget their argument, but he wasn't about to remind her. The hem of her skirt rose slowly to her upper thigh as she spread her legs. Natsu sunk down on his knees before her, desperate for the treasure between them. His fingers slid beneath her skirt when she stopped him.
"Not until I say so," Lucy said. She reached down and cupped his face in her palms and lifted his mouth to meet hers. His hunger seized her as soon as she pressed her lips to his. A soft breeze sent a shiver up his spine. The drenched clothes they wore now felt like heavy lead against their skin. Lucy placed both palms on his shoulders and guided his back to the floor. Natsu obliged without hesitation, his eyes heavy lidded, and waited to see what she would do. Lucy slid her fingers beneath his top to peel it from his skin. She tossed the fabric to the side without a glance, sat up, and gazed down at his bronzed skin. His arms above his head in surrender and chest bare as it rose and fell heavily with his excitement. His lips barely parted, invited her. She knew this look. A concentrated expression he would give his enemies, but with Lucy, it was to conquer not destroy. She had seen it whenever they made love. The images she conjured sent a wave of heat to her sex. Natsu's eyes darkened as he scented her, his length stiffened beneath her.
"Lucy, let me touch you." His voice husky with need and his hands curled into fists— fighting restraint. She only grinned in return. She reached around her waist, pulled off her belt, and tossed it to the side. Her familiar whip left in her firm grasp. He knew the custom leather weapon from every battle they entered together but never had he seen it in her hands with such a look in her eye. She pulled the leather between her fingers and leaned in to take his wrists, her breasts in perfect view. He leaned in and pressed his lips against one of them and heard a soft groan leave her body as he kissed her breast through the thin soaked fabric. She inspected the whip that firmly bound to his wrists together. Lucy slid her hands against his muscular chest. Her fingers leisurely glided against every ridge of muscle. Natsu closed his eyes with the irresistible sensation. This woman drove him crazy and surprised him every time they were together.
Lucy dipped lower to undo his belt, dropped the belt beside her own. His heart raced as she worked his pants open. With a firm grip on his waistline, she pulled down both his pants and boxers over his painful erection, starved for her touch. She gazed greedily at his body like a prize she had won and sat on her knees between his legs. Before she leaned into trail kisses down his chest, Natsu swore he heard her whisper, "lucky." He arched his back when her tongue darted out and trailed along his torso with her plump lips. The scent of her arousal permeated all around him. He groaned beneath her soft touch, his instinct screamed to claim her—to rip out of her precious whip and take her on the rug. "Lucy, please," he said between gritted teeth. He heard her chuckle before she wrapped a small hand around his cock. Natsu moaned with exquisite pleasure and bucked into her grasp.
The sight of him in her palm was one of the sexiest things she had ever witnessed. A powerful dragon slayer writhed in her grasp. Natsu lay naked, tied up, and completely helpless to her. The power intoxicating enough to embolden her. She rubbed his head slowly with her thumb. The tip glistened with his precum and throbbed with the need to release. Her other hand gripped the inside of his well-built thighs. Fuck.
"Don't worry Natsu, you'll like this," Lucy promised. She licked her palm and slid it over his immense length. His wrists struggled in their binding and his fingers dug into the grass. She gripped tighter over his velvet shaft and pressed her thumb against the vein beneath. He lifted his gaze to her hand in the way she worked. Her name fell from his lips as she upped the pace. Lucy wanted to burst into evil laughter with absolute power. She knew he was close when he bucked wildly against her hand and her name replaced with pleas. He finally seemed to fall apart when she cupped his scrotum and squeezed gently.
"I'm coming," he said, almost unable to speak the words clearly between ragged breaths. On a good day, Lucy would have happily obliged. Nothing pleased her more than getting him off and blowing his mind. Today was not a good day. She had prepared for this moment and almost pat herself on the back with how satisfying her revenge would be. Not only would she get her way in the end, and eventually allow him to come, but she would also punish him in the process. Plus, the whole thing was so hot she could feel her heat spill into her panties. When she felt the pulse against her palm, she tightly squeezed her fingers around the base of his phallus. Lucy knew the moment he realized what she was doing. His eyes grew wide, he moaned loudly and bucked his hips as hard as he could for the release that never came. When the ache subsided and his hips no longer moved, she let go of his shaft.
"Huh," she said, "It worked."
"Are you trying to kill me?" he demanded. She had expected the irritation in his eyes, but not the pure arousal from the act. He liked this.
"Maybe." Lucy needed him. She knew she wouldn't be able to last long without him inside her. Her core tightened to the point of ache as she sank lower between his legs.
"You're the death of me, Lucy Heartfilia." Natsu couldn't take his eyes off her, maddened with the need to bury himself inside her. Whenever she released him from his restraints, he swore, he would take her so hard she would scream his name. The anticipation set his blood on fire. She lowered herself between his thighs and trailed kisses down to his length, her mouth like flame against his skin. She gazed up at him in deep brown as she took his cock in her greedy hands once again. Lucy wrapped her lips around the head of his shaft, and her tongue lapped at the sensitive tip. Natsu arched his back again pulling at his restraints.
Lucy couldn't take her eyes off him. His chest moved up and down with his erratic breathing as he moaned. His face and chest flushed with the pleasure of her. The whole image so erotic she couldn't stand it anymore. She reached down with one hand to pull down her skirt and underwear. Natsu's gaze glued to the pair of pink lace panties. They were, in fact, his favorite pair. They fell before his eyes and lay on the ground beside her. Her hand moved to her weeping sex to touch herself, and he bit his lip at the sight. Don't lose control. He repeated the word like a mantra. She slowly took him into her mouth as she stroked her sensitive clit with her fingers. She was so wet, they slid easily over the throbbing nub. She couldn't help but moan against his cock. The vibrations made a curse slip from his lips. Lucy knew he was too big to fit entirely into her mouth, so she placed her other hand below her lips and squeezed tightly.
"Fuck. You suck me so good," Natsu said. She groaned when praises fell repeatedly from his lips, and she upped her pace. She sucked his shaft into her mouth with sloppy wet sounds in her ears and rubbed her drenched clit in a frenzy, spreading her knees wider for herself. She could feel her climax coming as his shaft began to pulse. This time she pulled her mouth away as he came and clamped her hand around the base of his cock once more. Without concern, she continued to reach her limit. Natsu shouted out with his denied release as she came against her own fingers. He watched helplessly as she rode her orgasm.
"Fuck," he groaned. His shaft cold and wet with the absence of her hot tight mouth. She stilled between his legs to catch her breath. Natsu took the opening and sat up. She gasped when he leaned into her and pressed her back to the ground. Natsu pulled free from his restraints while beads of sweat formed over his skin. With free hands, he placed both on either side of her head. "My turn." One hand reached up to restrain her wrists in a tight grip. With the other, he pushed his fingers between her folds and drove into her tight little cunt. She whimpered with his touch and thrust her hips into his hand. Natsu was relentless. He worked his fingers against her sweetest places until she became a puddle in his grasp. She cried out for her coming climax. Instead, he pulled his hand away and allowed her to wiggle her thighs together for relief. She groaned loudly at his gesture and frowned at Natsu's victorious grin.
"Natsu," she pleaded. He let her wrists go and moved down to her blouse. The fabric teased her peaked nipples since they got there, and it didn't sit well with him. He took little time to free them from her blouse. Natsu tossed her top over his shoulder, and his eyes roamed her pale and perfect breasts before lowering his lips to one of them. He sucked her chilled nipple into the heat of his mouth. Lucy cried out when his tongue lapped at them, and his teeth grazed against her skin. The sound like a melody in his sensitive ears. He left soft kisses beneath one full breast and moved to the other, pleased with her reactions. Usually, he'd take his time and savor her, but after what she did to him, he had no more patience. He released her nipples and positioned his cock against her entrance. Her mouth hung open in an empty cry as he sheathed himself inside her. Her eyes rolled back with the sweet feeling of him filling her to the brim.
"Fuck Lucy." His control shattered and he squeezed his eyes shut as her walls tightened around him in a vice grip. He knew he would come sooner than he would like, and it was all a part of her plan. He took a deep breath to calm himself, readied for what came next. As soon as she adjusted, he pulled out of her to the tip and proceeded to slam into her dripping sex. Her breasts bounced with the force and a resounding slap of wet flushed skin filled the air. She was the most erotic and beautiful woman he had ever seen. All he wanted was to show her how he would worship her body. His name tumbled from her lips as he rode her hard. Her fingers dug into his back—implored him to continue. Natsu slid his hands beneath her and grasped her firm buttocks. He pulled her hips up to meet his and buried himself fully into her. "God Lucy, I can't," he said desperately.
"Come for me, Natsu." With her words, he crumbled. Their cries echoed around them as they came together. Natsu rolled his hips with languid motion, her tight walls squeezed around him in her orgasm. He all but collapsed to the side and pulled her close to his chest. He wrapped his legs around her possessively with his sex within her.
"Are we even? No more fighting?" he asked breathlessly.
"No more fighting," she agreed. If this was how all their arguments ended, she may not mind.
It took them a while, beneath the darkened canopy of trees and foliage, to unlock from each other. Lucy picked up her clothes and began to dress, as she watched the fireflies dash in and around the fairy lights. The place was like a walk in a dream. The two lay in a heap amongst the pillows. Lucy spread her arms out and leaned her head back against their softness. Natsu laid his head in her lap gazing up at her.
"I'm beat," he said.
"Me too." They sat together for a while and talked about everything and nothing. They almost dozed off with the sounds of the forest when they heard footsteps coming toward them.
"Geez, you guys really fight, don't you?" Levy said walking through the brush. She was in a fresh set of clothes and followed by a tall dark shadow. They knew she made it to Magnolia.
"Damn Salamander, what do you do, get into fistfights with the girl?" Gajeel's familiar voice said, "You both look exhausted." Natsu and Lucy glanced at each other and laughed.
"Something like that," Lucy said.

Squeeze that bunny tail!
Part 1
Description: The RAD student council as well as the exchange students help out at a bar where, oops, the staff´s dress codes are those sweet bunny outfits that we all know and thirst for. The MCs, Violet and Clover, play a game of who can touch the most bunny tails over the evening without getting caught. Prepare for fluff, funny innuendos as well as my thirst over hot boys in bunny outfits.
The story is divided in several parts and will be updated every few days.
*I wrote this when the bunny UR+ cards first came out so there will be differences to the second event & their outfits
Story begins below the cut, have fun!
One fateful day, Diavolo had called his best friend Lucifer over to discuss a very urgent, utterly important matter...
"... A bar?" Lucifer repeated the prince's words.
"Yes!" Diavolo cheered.
"... And you want us to work there?"
"Yeah!"
"... Not only my brothers and me, but also all of the exchange students as well?"
"Strong yes! Barbatos and I will join, too."
"What? Are you sure? Should the prince of the Devildom really lower himself to such frivolous tasks?"
"Come on, Lucifer, it will be fun!"
Lucifer pressed out a deep sigh.
"... For you, perhaps... For me, it will be nothing but another day of babysitting a bunch of idiots..."
----------------
When the group arrived in the newly opened but already renowned bar, lots of them gave amazed gasps.
"It's huge!" Clover called out.
"And real fancy, too..." Mammon said, a mischievous spark in his eyes.
Belphie noticed how his brother was already searching for the most expensive decoration and gave an annoyed sigh. "Mammon's having idiot thoughts again..."
"All of you" Lucifer called out to the demons and humans living in the House of Lamentation. "I expect great manner from all of you. Lord Diavolo kindly asked us to help out with the grand opening of his acquaintance's bar. As it is the first day the place is opened to the general public, the owners asked him to offer help, and here we are. I would like to say that every item that gets broken or gets STOLEN", he shot Mammon an obvious glare, "will be repaid out of your own wallet. Furthermore, I am making you aware that..."
He kept talking for an unknown (but awfully long) amount of time, until Diavolo would pull him out of his ranting.
"Lucifer, relax! This is a laid-back place, I am sure everyone will do just fine. After all, we also have our kind Angel and Human friends to help."
Asmodeus raised an eyebrow.
"Is Luke allowed to be here, though? It's an adult place, after all..."
"Wha-?!" Some angry Chihuahua noises escaped Luke´s mouth. "I'm not a child, you know! Of course I am allowed to work here, show some respect!"
Simeon next to him gave the small blond a pat on his head while trying to bring the conversation back on track.
"Thank you for inviting us, Diavolo. Shall we get started, then? We don't have much time left until the first customers arrive."
They got shown around the whole place.
It consisted of two floors to sit in or play all sorts of bar games, a dance hall and a giant kitchen, serving all sorts of treats to go along with the (mostly alcoholic) beverages to buy from one of the even more impressive bars.
"The place looks pretty tame, though" Asmo pointed out as they had finished the tour.
"You think?!" Violet blinked at him. "I think it's amazing..."
"Asmo..." Satan mumbled. "I am pretty sure the places where you are a regular at are simply a little... special."
Completely ignoring the implications in Satan´s words, Asmodeus went on to ask the owner about whether they had what he called "fun rooms", which, yes, are just what you think they are.
They had to drag him back so they could finally be introduced to their work schedule.
"The bar is opened until four in the morning" Barbatos explained. "We will be working in shifts to maintain our stamina..."
Slowly, everything important had been settled, and the first bunch was about to start their shift.
But...
Well...
All this was a happening planned with the mind of Sir Diavolo himself...
So of course it wouldn't end up being a normal evening. It never did.
Just as the group wanted to leave the kitchen-strategy-meeting, Diavolo called out to them.
"Behold!" he prompted. "Are you planning to go out looking like THIS?"
Lucifer raised an eyebrow, already alert at the smirk on his friend's face. "Oh no..."
Barbatos, who had shortly excused himself after explaining everything, entered the kitchen, now holding a piece of clothing in his hands.
"The waiters and waitresses at this pub are required a special working garment", Barbatos explained. "We have prepared suiting clothes in your respective sizes already."
"Cl...othes?" Violet dared to ask.
"Yes!" Diavolo beamed her a smile. "And after midnight, you change clothes once again. Those are a surprise, however, so you will have to be patient until then."
Solomon gave a contemplative hum.
"And... What are those garments, exactly?"
-------------
"... Violet?"
"... Clover?"
"... Do you have bunny ears in your outfit set, too?"
"... Yeah."
Silence.
They stepped out of the women's toilet stalls, mustering each other.
A frilly short skirt, a pretty blouse, a cute bow tie, and two bunny ears as well as a matching bunny tail.
"... Looks pretty good, though" Clover mumbled. "A little embarrassing, but oh well..."
They checked their outfits for a little longer in the mirror, adjusting their clothes...
"To think they'd make us wear stuff like this", Violet said.
"Yeah... Like, are we supposed to serve customers like this? And look all weird, just the two of us?" Clover played around with her new pair of ears.
"Dunno..." Violet breathed as she checked her make up. “I bet the boys will think we look…” she stopped.
Realisation hit them.
"Violet."
"Clover."
They dashed out of the bathroom.
And opening the door, they saw...
Bunny boys.
Ten of them, right there, in those... With those... Looking so…
Violet suppressed a squeal while Clover was hiding a heavy blush.
But there was no time to recover from this critical hit.
Already having spotted them, Asmodeus was bouncing towards them, his frilly, pretty revealing blouse swaying around his curves.
"Waah, you girls are bunnies, too~!"
He began to inspect them thoroughly, also pulling the attention of the other males towards them.
But with all the damn nice snacks around, the girls had troubles focussing on only Asmo as he continued to squeal something.
"Whyyyy do we have to do thiiiisss..." Levi groaned, visibly uncomfortable in his butler bunny suit.
Lucifer (very stunning view btw, chef's kiss) crossed his arms in a sigh.
"You heard Lord Diavolo... It seems to be common practice in this local to dress like this... But I'm starting to regret agreeing to help out..."
A hand gently placed on Lucifer's shoulder.
"Oh, come on, Lucy" Simeon smiled, brown bunny ears reaching out of his hair. "I think this suits you very well. You look cute."
This only pulled a greater sigh out the demon's throat, but he wasn't allowed to keep this frown any longer, as Diavolo and Barbatos joined the group soon after.
To the group's surprise, both of them were in similar suits as well.
"Wow, all of you look stunning!" Diavolo wore a big grin. "I knew it was a great idea to suggest a dress code!"
"That was your idea?!" Luke pouted, having whatever trouble with his costume (which btw was designed to be distinctively less... sexy than all of the other suits, don´t worry about the angel child). His floppy rabbit ears looked adorable, but it only added to the impression that he shouldn't be here, serving alcohol for the next hours...
"Of course", Diavolo cheered. "They say good-looking staff makes more profit, and I want this evening to be a success."
-------------------
"I heard the place was designed to imitate a classic bar from the human world."
Initiating a conversation, Satan was preparing glasses at the bar together with Violet, Clover and a few of his brothers.
"Is it normal for the staff to look like this in the human world?" he asked, quite amused to watch the girls' bunny ears bounce with their movements. "Not that I'm complaining... I just figured you must know."
"... You´re asking US? Do we look like we party a lot?" Clover mumbled.
Violet gave a shrug. "It's kind of a... Classic costume to go with, but I don't think it's really that common with humans, too."
The demon gave a nod, then excused himself as Levi was calling for him on the other side of the bar.
And now that the girls had some time for themselves again, they could finally let out their inner fangirls.
Basically just giving weird noises, exchanging a few completely out of context words that only two minds speaking the same language of stupid could understand, they gushed about all the males surrounding them.
"Clover oh my god I-" Violet whispered in a gasp. "I love the tails."
"And the ears" Clover agreed.
"And the vests."
"The bow ties."
"But the fluffly TAiLs oh myyy..."
"Lolll I bet you wanna squish them-"
"YEEssssSSSSS..."
Afraid someone might notice, they tried calming down. But as if the universe was trying to keep them agitated, Beel happened to pass by, stopping next to them to organise the bottles in the display shelves behind them.
The girls turned, mustering the male...
Suddenly, Violet's expression curled into a sly grin, thinking of the huge crush Clover had on Beelzebub. She leaned in on Clover to whisper in her ear.
"Squeeze his tail..."
Clover's eyes widened as she started to blush.
"What?! No..." she whispered back.
"I know you want to~", Violet continued to purr in amusement.
"Sh-shut up...!" Clover grumbled.
"Come ooon..."
"Y-you do it if you're so tough...!", Clover pouted.
Her friend only gave a shrug, stepping closer to the demon as she nonchalantly reached for the bunny tail attached to his pants.
Of course, Beel noticed her presence.
"Violet?" he blinked in surprise, but apparently did not register how Violet pulled her arm back immediately.
She shot him a smile.
"Hey, Beel, could you... hand me that bottle in the upper shelf? Asmo said he needed it over there."
"Sure."
And as the male reached for the bottle, Violet took the chance to squeeze that fluffy pompom.
"Thanks" she cheered, then went to grab Clover to disappear from the scene of crime.
Violet couldn't quite wipe the victorious grin off her face.
Clover on the other hand...
"I hate everything", she pouted.
"You should have just went for it" Violet laughed. "It's like this game we used to play in the human world when everyone is wearing hats with pompoms during winter. Just that here, it’s a bunny tail that you had to squish.”
"But..." Clover sulked, like always sad that she wasn´t brave enough to do what Violet asked her to do.
So Violet mustered her friend...
Then, an idea hit her.
"You know what, actually?" Violet said. "I dare you to squish a tail."
Clover made a weird sound.
"What?! Nooo... You know I'm awkward..."
"And let's make it a game!"
"... Are you even listening to me?"
Apparently, she wasn´t.
"Whoever manages to squeeze the most bunny tails wins -- without the person noticing, of course." Violet was grinning from ear to ear.
Clover gave a big sigh.
"... The tails from either of the boys?" She finally gave in.
"Yeah, let's."
"... Would you voluntarily go up to your crush Lucifer and risk your life?"
Violet's face turned into a conflicted blush.
"I..." she mumbled in an unconvincing shrug. "Maybe...?"
"They should have different difficulty levels", Clover suggested. "Giving different amounts of points,, depending on how difficult we consider the squeeze-ability of a tail."
----------
Don't ask how or why... (And how they found the time to come up with this madness)
But in the end, the two girls had invented a game to keep them entertained for the next couple of hours.
They came up with a plan for the "bunny tail squeeze point distribution":
1 point: Beel, Belphie, Simeon, Levi (+), Asmo (+)
2 points: Mammon, Satan (+), Barbatos, Luke (V)
3 points: Lucifer, Solomon, Diavolo, Luke (C)
"The plus stands for a potential to increase in points, as those three are a little difficult to analyse. We'll count it depending on the situation and their wariness..." Clover concluded as she showed Violet the notes she had taken on a beer coaster. "And Luke's on there twice because I'm a fucking giraffe and get a bonus point if I can reach that Chihuahua’s tail. And thaaat... Would be all."
Violet squealed in excitement.
"Great, then let's go!"
Clover gave a last sigh, knowing what difficulties she'd have with this.
"This is SO going to end in some disaster..."

FORGIVING HIM
Genre: Angst and fluff
Relationship: Gruvia
Summary: Gray is determined to apologize to Juvia and win her back after realizing what he has done and what he is losing.
A/N:
This is the second part to my story "Breaking her" which I wrote for Gruvia week. Its dedicated to @amrentheangel since it was supposed to be a one-shot but she asked for another part. Hope you like it, let me know what you think :)
Here is part 1 if you're interested:

*************************************************
Tumblr media
A few weeks had passed since the group had returned back to Magnolia. The whole guild was working hard on rebuilding the guild hall. It filled Gray with pride, seeing that things didn't change between the guild members and everyone was putting their all into it. Fairy Tail still meant a lot to every single one of them. If only every thing could go back to the way it was..
He looked around for the water mage that would usually be hiding somewhere near, trying to get closer to him, but he couldn't find her. He hasn't been able to for the past days. He wasn't sure whether she was gone on a mission or just locking herself up in her dorm. He knew one thing for sure though. She was avoiding him ever since their last conversation. Thinking back, he could still hear her words clearly. Every single one she threw at him.
You only saved her to break her heart all over again.
It was a stab to his heart. Every damn word. The more she talked, the more he broke inside. But he deserved it. He deserved to hear it, deserved to feel the pain. If he was honest with himself, he never deserved Juvia in his life in the first place. She was always too good for him.
It's over. Juvia is done.
He could see the hurt in her eyes, the way she was holding back her tears and forcing her chin up, trying not to show weakness. She had reminded him of the Juvia he met that day on the roof. The phantom lord Juvia. Cold, calculating, distant.. He remembered that day like it was yesterday. It was were everything had started. He was amazed by her power, admittedly a little freaked out too. But that wasn't what stuck in his memory the most. It was her fall. The way she just accepted it. She didn't scream nor did she try to hold onto something. She just kept falling, empty eyes looking into the sky. She was ready to leave, ready to lose her life. It was a quick reaction, but he had caught her by her wrist and pulled her up. And somehow he had broken the curse that had been following her. They both sat on the roof, still drenched from the rain that had been pouring over them just minutes ago. It was gone now. He let Juvia see the clear sky for the first time. That day, it changed her completely. He had saved her. At least that's what Juvia always told him.
You brought the rain back, Gray.
It was the words she had last said to him, before parting ways. The words that kept coming up in his head, showing him how much he had messed up and how badly he had truly hurt her. Juvia had left after, not seeing the way he broke down, how he couldn't hold it back anymore. The tears kept flowing and his heart was aching. He was praying to wake up, praying that it was all a bad dream, that it would be over soon and he would see his Juvia again, the one with the brightest smile and the purest heart. But it never happened. Juvia was gone and he was left alone.
The days kept passing and no matter how hopeful he woke up, reality would always catch up to him very quickly. He still didn't see Juvia anywhere around and the worry was eating away at him. He missed her. He missed her smile, the way she would greet him, the way she called out his name. He missed it all, every little thing about her. His thoughts had kept him up all night and after a lot of turning and tossing, he had finally made a decision. He would fix this and win her back, no matter what. Juvia was his girl and he wasn't going to just give up so easily. Gray had truly messed up this time, he was aware of that. But he will do anything to make it up to her. That was a promise.
Gray walked up to Gajeel, determination in his steps. If anyone knew where the water mage was, it would be her best friend.
"Hey Gajeel, you got a minute?"
"Look what we have here. If it isn't the stripper."
"Gajeel, be nice.." Levy gave him a pointed look, able to feel the tension between the two boys.
"You don't happen to know where Juvia is?"
"So now you care?"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing. I can't help you so go bother someone else."
"Seriously?" Gray was growing impatient. He needed to know where Juvia was, the sooner the better. This iron head over here was no help whatsoever. Why did he bother asking him in the first place?
"Look, I really need to talk to her. It's very important."
"You plan on fixing things?"
Gajeel didn't show it openly, but he had a good heart. Gray being one who doesn't like to show his emotions either, knew that. And he knew that Gajeel would do anything for Juvia, despite always calling her the annoying rain woman. They were best friends after all.
"Juvia went on a mission."
"With who?"
"By herself. She insisted on going alone."
The way Gajeel said that didn't sit well with Gray at all. And by the way the dragon slayer was looking at him, he wasn't too fond of it either.
"I don't know what kind of mission it is, she didn't really say much. She's been pretty distant lately, avoiding almost everyone and staying silent on every trip. But going alone on a mission is a new one, even for that crazy woman."
It really was a new one. Even back in her Phantom Lord days, Juvia wasn't one to work alone. So heading out on a mission all by herself definelty was a warning sign that shouldn't be ignored. The worries Gray had kept growing. But there was nothing he could do now besides waiting for her to come back and praying that it wouldn't be too late.
The sun had set already when Juvia arrived back in Magnolia. The job had taken longer than expected, but she had finished it successfully. Although she had to admit that it wasn't the best idea to go by herself because it made everything much harder and also gave her too much time to think and that wasn't doing her any good lately.
Juvia approached Fairy Hills, desperately longing for a hot shower and her bed but stopped in her tracks when she saw a certain someone sitting on the bench in front of the building. It had been days since she last saw him and weeks since she last talked to him. He looked like a mess. There were bags under his eyes that indicated that he hadn't slept in a week. His hair was messy, like he had run his hand through it several times. Despite that, he still looked handsome, the most beautiful man Juvia laid eyes on. She considered turning around and walking away, but he spotted her before she had time to react, his dark eyes locking with hers and paralyzing her on the spot.
"Juvia!"
She couldn't avoid him forever, she was aware of that. She was angry, sad and hurt.. but she missed him. She missed him so much. Taking a deep breath, she prepared herself for the conversation that she could no longer postpone.
He had already stood up in a rush and was now standing in front of her. For a moment, they both stood in silence, looking at each other before Juvia nervously averted her gaze, looking anywhere but at the man in front of her. She couldn't bring herself to look him in the eye and opted for keeping her head low, eyes focusing on her shoes.
Gray wasn't sure where to start. There was so much he needed to say and yet no words came out. He wanted to punch himself. He had prepared for that moment so many times for the past weeks, overthinking every sentence and training in front of the mirror and now that he finally had a chance, he was messing it up. He needed to get it together. He scratched the back of his head, before taking a deep breath and deciding that he should, in Elfmans words, be a man.
"Juvia, I- I missed you." Gray wasn't going to hold back on his emotions. He promised he was going to be honest with her and he was going to keep this one at least. Juvia didn't give him an answer, but she didn't try to leave either so he took that as a sign to continue.
"Listen, I've been thinking about every thing, about what happened, what I did and what you said and.. I understand it. I understand why you feel this way, why you avoid me, maybe even hate me. You have every right to be angry with me. I messed up.."
Juvia wanted to interrupt him. I don't hate you. I could never hate you. But she bit her tongue. She had to stay strong, she couldn't just run back into his arms and pretend everything was good, not yet at least. Although that was exactly what she wanted to do.
"Juvia, I am truly sorry. I have done a lot of things in my life I'm not exactly proud of, things I regret. But leaving you, hurting you, that is the one thing I regret the most, one thing that will haunt me for the rest of my life. My excuses for leaving you don't matter, what I did was simply wrong. I should have never left you all by yourself, without a word. You have been on my mind the entire time. I wanted to come back so many times, to check on you, but I didn't. I was a coward and I don't deserve you."
Taking a deep breath, Gray put his hands on Juvias shoulder. When the water mage finally looked up, it broke his heart all over again. The tears were running down her cheeks and she looked so hurt, so broken. But he couldn't stop yet, couldn't comfort her, he had to finish first and see where things would go from there.
"But I am selfish. I'm too selfish to let you go, to let you move on. I will do whatever it takes to earn your forgiveness. I won't give up. I need you, Juvia. I need you by my side. Not seeing you this past weeks, it drove me crazy. I didn't realize how attached I had become to you, how big your role in my life had become. You broke the ice around me, pulled me from a darkness I wasn't aware I was in. You always used to say that I'm your hero, that I saved you. But it's not true. You are the one that saved me. I can't let go of you, Juvia. You are my world and I need you. I'm sorry I didn't give you an answer sooner. I'm sorry you had to get hurt for me to realize how stupid I am. I was being a coward. I'm not good enough for you, but I promise to do better, become a man worthy of you. I'll do whatever it takes. Because I think-"
Gray took a step closer and put his hand on Juvias cheek, wiping away a tear that was rolling down. He took her hand in his, bringing it up to his face and placed a kiss on the inside of her wrist.
"I think I love you. No, that's not right. I don't just think so, I'm sure. I'm in love with you. I can't stay away from you because I'm better when I'm with you. You make me happy, the way I feel when I'm with you.. it's different. It's good. I- I love you, Juvia."
He wasn't holding back anymore. If there was anyone he'd pour his heart to, it is Juvia. And no matter how she'd react, he won't regret being honest with her. For a moment neither of them said anything, just gazing into each other's eyes. His heart was hammering against his chest and Gray was sure Juvia could hear his heartbeat.
"Juvia missed you so much."
Juvia was done trying to be strong, trying to hold back. Gray had told her everything she wanted to hear and more. He was honest and showed her a side of him noone else was allowed to see, his vulnerable side. The tears were now falling like water falls and Juvia practically threw herself at Gray, hugging him tightly and burying her face in his chest. She had missed this so much, his scent, his warmth, him. She felt his arms coming around her and pulling her even closer. Gray leaned his head on hers. And after so long she felt like she was finally home.
"Please don't leave Juvia ever again."
"I won't, I promise you."
"Good. You know, Juvia wanted this for so long, but.. I thought you didn't want me."
"I do, I want you. Only you."
They stayed like this for a while, just enjoying each others presence before Gray let her out of his embrace, instead putting his hands on her waist and leaning his forehead on hers.
"Juvia."
"Hm?"
"Can I kiss you?"
"Juvia was wondering what you were waiting for.."
Gray flashed her a breathtaking smile before leaning in and finally locking his lips with hers. The kiss was slow and careful, like he was testing the water first, but they both melted into it soon and the kiss became deeper instantly. It was as if they were pouring every emotion they felt now and for the past weeks into it, the ache, the longing. Juvias arms went around his neck and Gray pulled her even closer, not leaving any space between their bodies. They didn't stop kissing until they were forced to, both being out of breath. Even then, they stayed close to each other, neither willing to let go.
"You know, your lips are very soft. I could kiss them all day."
Juvia giggled and give him a quick peek on the lips, teasing him. "Juvia wouldn't mind that."
Gray was grinning like a child that just got candy. He didn't remember ever being this happy. He finally had her back, Juvia was by his side again and this time, she knew how he was feeling. There was nothing more to hide. Juvia was his, just as much as he was hers and there was nothing in this world that would make him let go of her ever again. He had meant every word he said, he'd prove himself to her and become a better man. For her, he'd do anything.
"Juvia, I love you. I really do."
"Juvia loves you too, Graysama."

Shopping Trip!
For @whitherliliesbloom, based on their headcanons on an Illyanaud/Laurchefant double date!
Alphinaud/Illya + Haurchefant/Laurelis ♡ 2109 words ♡ some kinda modern au
This is supposed to be a so-called “double date”, but as far as Alphinaud is concerned, it is merely a regular one. Between Laurelis and Illya.
Haurchefant and Alphinaud simply happen to be there at the same time. Or at the very least in their general vicinity.
The taller elezen doesn’t appear especially bothered by this; he bears his burden of an already concerning amount of bags with unprecedented grace and decorum.
“They look like they’re having fun,” he says with an easy smile once he notices the white-haired elezen glancing toward him. Alphinaud clears his throat.
“I -- yes, I...suppose that is one of the words...that could describe them.”
Laurelis stands in the middle of one of the clothing stores, a veritable pile of dresses thrown over the nearest rack, clearly selected for the lalafellin girl fidgeting demurely in front of her. She holds her most recent pick -- a pale turquoise ruffled dress -- in both hands, holding it out near the shorter girl’s shoulders.
Whilst Illya looks only somewhat uncomfortable with her predicament, the miqo’te has a somewhat pinched, pensive expression as she stares at younger girl and garment with narrowed eyes. Then, abruptly and apparently satisfied, she gives a tiny nod and gently folds the dress before placing it on the ground beside her.
“Don’t I need to try that on first...?”
“Nope! I know you’ll look adorable without even putting it on!” Laurelis’ smile is bright and infectious; even Illya can’t help but let her lips upturn despite her misgivings. “But this...” The pink-haired woman’s voice trails off as she pulls yet another dress from the small pile she’s amassed. “I’m afraid you will have to try this one on.”
She holds it up to Illya briefly, before allowing the lalafell to take the dress from her. It’s a light, checkered thing; Alphinaud can’t make it out clearly from this distance, but it seems to have something frilly or lacy at the front.
After a mild “argument” (”Are you sure this isn’t too much?” “Nonsense! There’s never too many cute clothes!”), the lalafell retreats to the dressing room, defeated, dress in hand.
Perhaps it’s understandable that she should feel anxious. The vast majority of the bags Haurchefant holds contain clothes and shoes...for Illya, after all.
This scene had been repeated numerous times in other stores, with but one exception that had occurred exactly once and then never again, though the memory still causes the hair at the back of Alphinaud’s neck to spike in unease.
Illya had hesitantly peered out of the dressing room, violet eyes glimmering with discontent; she only finally pulled herself out with effusive and exuberant encouragement from her best friend. The sight that greeted the pale-haired elezen had nearly stolen his breath away: the dress Laurelis had chosen for her was the perfect colour and cut, brilliantly highlighting her features and, at the same time, making her look somehow even more lovely than she had mere minutes ago.
His silence had not gone unnoticed. Whilst Haurchefant had quickly offered his own praise, Alphinaud had merely been struck speechless and tongue-tied, as if somehow turned to stone. And the miqo’te had wheeled toward him, eyes narrowed, fluffy tail twitching only once.
“What do you think, Alphinaud? Doesn’t she look beautiful?”
Alphinaud had thought he could catch a hint of an uncharacteristic sharpness in her gaze -- a subtle glare that looked utterly unnerving on the miqo’te. He had cleared his throat, finding the words he needed to curtail his execution rapidly surfacing despite his initial floundering.
“O-of course. She looks beautiful -- absolutely stunning.” He most certainly did not stutter.
The pink-haired woman’s expression had transformed into a beam that could very well rival the sun. “Fantastic! I knew you’d like it.” Giving a tiny, gleeful clap, she had levied Illya with yet another dress, and the bone-chilling moment had passed as if nothing untoward had ever happened.
Alphinaud still occasionally feels somewhat cold, for no discernible reason.
As Laurelis fawns over the assortment of clothes she’s uncovered for Illya to wear and try on, Alphinaud finds his mind wandering. If this is a shopping trip -- and so it appears, as opposed to an actual date -- he may as well do some shopping on his own.
It appears Illya is well and covered in the clothing department, so he supposes there’s room for him to buy something else...
Like, he thinks, as his gaze roves over a nearby store, jewelry.
Illya, being quite modest, doesn’t often afford herself the luxury of pretty trinkets. Almost never, really, and certainly really nothing expensive.
Well, expensive for her. To him, and to apparently the pink-haired miqo’te, it may as well be a drop in the ocean.
The black, lacquered sign gleams at him under the skylights as he approaches. Genuine crystal bouquets. Perhaps not quite jewelry, as he’d initially assumed, but some sort of trinket nonetheless. And certainly nothing Illya would look even twice at.
She does love flowers, however. What ever would be better than an undying, beautifully cut, and vibrant bouquet? Far more than a simple collection of fake flowers...
Or so that’s what he thinks as he peers into the small shop. Behind locked cabinets and displays of glass are numerous attentively arranged crystalline flowers. Some are simply made of nondescript crystal; others, more ostentatiously priced, are labelled to be carved of gemstone.
He’s drawn almost immediately toward a composition of lilies, sparkling in the light. The price on the card beside them would undoubtedly make his girlfriend faint.
“Looking to buy, sir?” The elderly gentleman behind the counter hones in on him almost immediately, attracted by the crispness of his shirt and the stitching of his tailored coat. Evidently the man can smell the bottomless cards stowed away in his pockets.
“Yes, I -- I was wondering, might I have a look at that lily bouquet up there?” Alphinaud gives a nod toward the glass shelves behind the counter. The shopkeep pulls out an assortment of keys from his pocket and begins fiddling with the locks.
“I feel like I shouldn’t even be here.” The light, airy comment nearly startles the long-haired young man out of his skin; he turns slightly to see his other companion, Haurchefant, joining him, bags in either hand. “Are you getting that for Illya?” He leans forward slightly as the older man brings the delicate bouquet down before them, allowing them both to look at it.
“Yes. I think it’s very beautiful. It suits her, don’t you think?” Alphinaud gently brushes a finger along one crystalline petal. It would look quite pretty on her nightstand -- perhaps away from any windows, lest anyone less savoury see it.
“It is very pretty -- ” Haurchefant breaks himself off as the shopkeep reminds his friend of the price. “But are you sure she’ll like it? It is rather expensive, after all...wouldn’t she be worried?”
Though Alphinaud does not think it to be that much of a money sink...he can attest that his love would probably be rather critical of the cost involved. Pursing his lips slightly, he looks away from the diamond lilies. “I suppose you are correct...”
He looks instead toward a series of delicately cut roses, pale and translucent. The price for these is substantially less.
“What about these ones...?”
When he walks out of the store a few minutes later, box neatly wrapped and tied and deposited into a white nondescript bag, he feels quite pleased with himself. Haurchefant had kept up his attempts to dissuade him, though to no avail; this bouquet was, after all, far less expensive than the other alternative. And roses are very romantic. Not to mention these particular flowers are eternal.
Illya might gripe about it, but she shouldn’t be displeased, he thinks.
The girls -- or Laurelis, rather -- have already finished making their new purchases by the time they return to the clothing store, the miqo’te excitedly chattering to her friend about the fine points of matching colours and accents.
________
The restaurant is filled with the sound of soft music and the laughter of children and the other patrons. Their shopping has been deposited in the trunk of Haurchefant’s car -- box of crystal roses included, which Illya miraculously did not notice.
Or perhaps chose not to bring up in front of their friends.
“What are you getting, Illya?” Laurelis asks with a mild quirk of her lips as she flips through her menu. Her expression is furrowed slightly in characteristic indecision, before it lightens. “I think I’m getting one of the burgers...”
“Um...” Illya trails off a moment as she finishes coming to her own decision. “The piping hot chicken wings, I think...”
“Ah -- I-I see...what about you, Haurchefant, Alphinaud?”
Alphinaud shuts his menu before he responds. “I’ll probably just get a coffee and a salad.” He’s typically not too hungry by lunchtime -- even with the walking they’d been doing earlier.
“I’ll likely be getting one of the burgers myself,” comes Haurchefant’s reply, closing his own menu.
It doesn’t take too long for their orders to finally arrive, or perhaps it only feels that way with the light, jovial chatter. Laurelis’ fashion classes are going well, as are Haurchefant’s English courses, and Illya’s shop is of course proceeding swimmingly. The conversation ceases for only a moment as the pink-haired woman fishes out her cellphone.
“I have to take pictures!” she announces. “If -- well, if that’s okay with everyone, at least.” Somehow, she always manages to make the food look even more appetising than it already is in her snapshots.
The wings on Illya’s plate are steaming, the scent of spice nearly overpowering the smell of Laurelis and Haurchefant’s burgers across the table. Alphinaud eyes the lalafell’s meal warily, keeping to his plain and boring salad.
“Oh, may I try one, Illya? They look quite good.” Haurchefant asks. Laurelis’ head nearly whips clean off her shoulders as she looks up to stare at him in what can only be described as abject pity, mouth agape.
“O-of course,” Illya murmurs, gently pushing her plate forward. The silver-haired man reaches to pluck one of the wings off her plate, lifting it to his mouth. He’s hardly even licked it when his eyebrows furrow slightly in consternation.
The brave man does, in fact, manage to take a bite -- and perhaps, it seems, even swallow it, though Alphinaud feels rather too terrified to actually get a good look at his facial expression.
“Well -- that was -- very good...I, ah -- excuse me...”
Laurelis politely slides out of the booth to allow the taller elezen to shift past her, and Alphinaud continues to wonder how he simply doesn’t sprint to the nearest washroom.
“I-is Haurchefant all right...?” Illya asks with wide, violet eyes. Her best friend gives a faint laugh, waving a hand gently.
“Oh, he’ll be fine! I-I think I felt his phone vibrating in his pocket, he m-must have gotten a call or something!”
“I hope it wasn’t anything serious...”
Their final group member returns a few minutes later, though he does not ask to partake in Illya’s dish again, and assures them that everything had gone well with his call.
________
Alphinaud feels a little bad for Haurchefant driving him home, but the older elezen had insisted.
“There’s nothing wrong with friends dropping friends off, is there? You don’t need to take your fancy driver everywhere.”
And Laurelis doesn’t even use a driver despite it well being within her means to. For some ungodly reason, she prefers to walk.
“I can take you home, Illya, if you don’t mind,” Alphinaud says before he steps out of the car. “I have something I’d like to talk to you about, too.”
The lalafellin girl looks a little confused as she blinks up at him. “Talk...?”
“Yes! So -- we can take your shopping to my apartment, right?”
“Oh, sure!” Laurelis wheedles her way into the conversation. “I can help you carry everything up!  There’s...a lot, ahah...”
“I’ll help, too.” Haurchefant’s smile is easy and light. “I think you’ll need it.”
Alphinaud staunchly pretends he has not an inkling of what the older man could possibly be talking about, the crystal bouquet weighing heavier than any mountain of shoes possibly could. He only hopes she’ll like them.

The Vice Chancellor
“Help! Help! Let me out! Let me out of here!”
Ru’Yi banged her fists on the door. “Can anyone hear me?!”
It had been a few minutes since Mr. Baldwin had taken her phone after finding out that the monster that had attacked her was related to Tom’s Soul Skill called Brother.
Mr. Baldwin was the head of the Executive department and had signed off on expelling Tom before suddenly changing his mind. But now that his Soul Skill was running rampant on campus, what would happen to him now?
The head of the Executive’s words about how Tom ‘might’ survive echoed in her head with a latent warning. The possibility that he might be killed made her tireless in her efforts to escape.
She told herself no one was coming for her. Brian wasn’t here. Brian wouldn’t hurt Tom, would he?
She hurried to the window. She has high up on the third floor of the building.
She had found out that she could leap a very high fence in a single bound. Falling was another matter. She could end up seriously hurt. She turned to the bed and started tearing off the bed sheets.
The windowpanes opened outward from the top, but not enough for her to jump out, likely by design.
She looked down, making sure no one was below her then went to pick up the chair in the room.
She held it over her head. “Think Dragon, Ru’Yi... I’m a dragon.”
She drew back, heart racing, aiming at the window and then heaved forward!
The chair didn’t move with her. It stopped her in mid-throw. She bounced backward and into someone who caught her.
A cheerful male voice greeted her. “Hey, there Junior! Sorry I’m late. If I was a little later though, you might have done something real stupid!”
She turned around an looked into the bright blue eyes of someone she didn’t know. His blond hair was in a pony tail but he was much taller than David and in a black trenchcoat and fedora hat. He beamed at her. “You’re just like your Dad! Completely certifiable!”
“They’re going to kill Tom! I have to get out of here! Can you take me back to my apartment?!”  She pleaded.
He looked down at her with a wink and helped her set down the chair. “Not a problem at all! Let’s get going!”
She hurried down the halls of the clinic with this stranger. “Who are you?”
“Who are you? Why I’m the famous Finger Von Frings!”
“Von Frings? You’re the one who lifted the restriction on Soul Skills last night!”
“Shhhh...” He winked at her. “That’s supposed to be a secret remember? Just what were you doing with Mr. Baldwin that night?” He whispered.
“Oh! Nothing! I was in the library and had a computer issue.”
He opened the front door and let her out. There, waiting for her with a somber expression, was Brian on his motorcycle!
“Brian! There you are!” She rushed towards him, quickly getting on behind him. “Thank you Mr. Frings!”
“Any time, Junior.” The man pulled out a cigar while watching Brian rev up.
Ru’Yi had to cling to him as they peeled away. “We have to get back to my apartment! That monster is part of Tom’s soul skill... if they kill it he might be hurt!” She shouted over the engine.
“Are you sure Ru’Yi?” He glanced over his shoulder. “It might attack you again.”
“Watch the road!” Ru’Yi yelled. “And yes I’m sure!”
As soon as they arrived,  Ru’Yi jumped off the motorcycle and rushed up the stairs, pounding on Tom’s door. “Tom! Tom! Open up! Can you hear me?”
No one answered her. Brian caught up, standing behind her and pushing her aside. He lifted one leg and kicked the door open. It swung inward and crashed into the wall. He marched in.
Ru’Yi followed. “Tom! Tom!”
She found him in the bedroom, sitting on the floor, leaning against the mattress soaked in sweat. He looked up at her, chest heaving with every breath. He was burning hot to the touch.
“Tom!” She brushed his hair back.
“I’m surrounded.” He whimpered.
She looked back at Brian who had paused in the doorway, his expression still grim.
“Do you know where the executive agents are? We have to get Tom there.”
“Yes.” He still wasn’t moving.
“Come on, Brian. He has to go there to reunite with ...”
“And then what? Become more powerful? Right before he goes nuts? He’s already hurt you once.” He crossed his arms over his chest.
“If you’re not going to help me... then you forget about us being friends.” Ru’Yi said, her voice shaking.
Brian gave in, walking in and picking Tom up and throwing him over his shoulder as easily as a sack of potatoes. “Then let’s go...”
“Careful with him!” Ru’Yi followed him out.
Tom smiled a little. “Th...thanks...”
He settled him behind him on the motorcycle, taking off at a lesser speed. “The monster was last seen cornered near the canal.” He shouted. “If he’s surrounded, he should still be there.”
As they approached the area, they saw that it was cordoned off with caution tape and guarded by two officers.
“Halt! This is a restricted area!” They yelled.
Brian bore down on the handlebars and accelerated, aiming directly at one of the guards who was forced to leap out of the way or get killed. Ru’Yi looked over her shoulder where the man was struggling to get out of the hedge he’d leaped into.
“Sorry!” She yelled.
There were more officers ahead who raised their weapons, but then they suddenly lowered them as a loud shout greeted them.
“Took you long enough!” Mr. Von Frings had somehow gotten there ahead of them.
Mr. Baldwin glared furiously at Brian who just stared back at him and shrugged. Ru’Yi helped Tom off the bike.
“Let them through, let them through!” The man in the trench coat waved his cigar about like he owned the place and they moved aside like he did.
Mr. Baldwin looked up at him with barely concealed annoyance. “Are you certain about this, Vice Chancellor?”
“Relax! Worse comes to worse I can just lower the boom on Soul Skills again.” He gave a long pull of his cigar and offered it to Mr. Baldwin who wrinkled his nose in disgust.
“No thank you.”
The Canal was little more than a large stone drainage ditch on the fringes of the complex levy system of Chicago. The open mouth of an underground tunnel opened like a cave and both sides of it were surrounded by heavily armed officers.
Brian settled Tom down at the edge of the canal. Then he turned and nodded to Von Frings.
The Vice Chancellor’s eyes yellow-shifted briefly and Ru’Yi felt the vast wellspring of Draconic power open in her as the restriction was lifted. She looked down at Tom.
Brian grabbed her arm. “Back away.”
She hesitated but followed his instructions.
The smoky monster that looked like a living cloud of black ash separated from the dark of the tunnel. All weapons turned on it but no one dared fire without orders. It creeped forward on long limbs, stretching and contracting like a caterpillar as it approached the listless Tom.
Then it turned and looked directly at Ru’Yi, gazing at her a long time.
Tom reached out one hand to touch the monster and it turned its attention back to Tom and reached out its hand. Tom seized the monster by the hand and opened his mouth and bit down.
Reaching arm over arm, Tom swallowed the monster first up to its shoulder, devouring across his neck and head and then its other arm along with its torso. As he pushed it little by little down his throat, his eyes burned golden and Ru’Yi could tell that he could suddenly see the world around him.
The smoke-like essence began to emanate from his body and steam rose from his sweat-soaked clothing as the monster’s legs disappeared into his mouth, and then its feet.
Tom stood up under his own power and looked at Ru’Yi. He seemed different. Not so nervous, he smiled at her. “Hey... Thanks.”
“Your hands.” Brian said.
Tom raised his hands to look at them. They were covered in dark, slate colored scales that rose and fell in waves like feathers, emitting intense heat.
He was turning servitor? “Tom!” Ru’Yi called out at the same time as a shot rang out. Tom let out a soft grunt and collapsed.
Ru’Yi screamed in horror and people rushed forward. She struggled as Brian pulled her close.
“Shh! Hey! It’s an anesthesia bullet. He’ll be fine.”
Mr. Baldwin approached, his brown eyes snapping threateningly at Brian. “You want to explain the stunt you just pulled?”
Brian let her go and straightened to face him. “I appealed to the Vice Chancellor. That’s my right!”
He pushed Ru’Yi behind him, stepping forward, fists clenched.
A dark colored sword suddenly separated the two of them and they stopped short.
Von Frings, still puffing his cigar, smiled affably. “Now we’ll settle this like gentlemen... not dragons.” He turned his yellow eyes on Mr. Baldwin. “Grant. Please show Miss Chu how we’re caring for unstable hybrids to reassure her that things will be fine.”
Mr. Baldwin bristled at being addressed by his first name. The subtle hint wasn’t lost on him but didn’t say anything more. He stepped around them both. “Ru’Yi, please come with me.”

Growing Pains - Chapter Eight - Dry Cleaning and Peanut Butter Cookies
I arrived home from the airport by midnight, a dull ache invading my bones. I did not know how Victor endured this pretty much every week, I felt like dropping dead on my bed and come to life in the next century.
I was unlocking my door when I heard footsteps on the stairs. My neighbor Levi was going home too.
“Andrea… You arrived just now?” He asked, watching me with his piercing green eyes.
Levi was, for the lack of a better expression, hot as sin. He was a Krav Maga instructor and a personal trainer, so he was naturally well built. To top it all, he had these green eyes and strawberry blonde hair that framed a masculine square jaw and perky lips.
After I mentioned I practiced Krav Maga back at home, Levi invited me to attend his lessons, and we became good friends after that. He was the only person in Loveland to know about my past abuse, and had taken somewhat of a protective stance towards me.
“Yes… Long business trip. What’s your excuse?” I said, playfully.
“Football and beer. And burgers. Did you come alone from the airport?” He changed the subject, expressing his concern.
“No, my boss drove me. Can I talk to you tomorrow? I’m in dire need of a shower and a coma.” I said, opening my door and putting my bags in. Levi interrupted.
“Actually, I was about to ask you if you can walk Boris in the morning. I have an early class.” Levi asked, making a face.
“Ok, no worries, I’ll walk him. I have your key, don’t worry.” I said, coming into my house and closing the door.
After unpacking, I went to my shower. I let the warm water slide down my body and rinse all the tension away. I thought about these last few days. It was incredible to see that relaxed side of Victor. He seemed to open up a bit, and I couldn’t help but wonder what made him let his guard down for me. But more importantly, I felt like I was slowly letting my guard down too. I was somewhat infatuated, the way I seemed to begin to stir with his gaze or when I heard his purring voice grazed the ridiculous. I shook the thoughts away and just resumed taking my shower.
I went for my purse to get my phone and set the alarm. But no matter how hard I looked, I couldn’t find the damn thing.
My heart raced as I remembered the last time I opened my purse. It was at the airport, as I was looking for my passport. I had taken it from my wallet on a previous occasion and was too lazy to put it back in its place, so I kept it loose in my purse. This time, it was mixed with all the other stuff inside, so I had to take every single item out and put in on the seat next to me before I could find it. Did I forget to put my phone in my purse while I was putting all the other stuff back in? Was it still in Sunset Valley, hundreds of miles away, sitting on the seat? I got dressed and sped to a phone booth to call my own number. The phone was off. Probably still on flight mode, or maybe somebody already had taken it, and removed the sim card.
I also had to call my mother, she should be worried, I didn’t call her while traveling. I looked at the clock, it was midnight in Loveland, which meant it was 7 am in Portugal, way too early to call anyone. I decided to call it a night and go to bed. I would be able to think more clearly in the morning.
It was already 10 am when I woke up, and although my body begged for a few more hours of sleep, the thought of my lost phone made me bolt to the shower. I had a quick breakfast, put on my jeans, my black tank top and a grey cotton drape jacket, with my black sneakers.
I took Boris to the park, where he played in several puddles, getting himself full of mud in the process. I then stopped by the phone booth to call my mother. Boris was beyond agitated, probably wanting to go play again. I held him by his leash, trying to make him still the best I could while I listened to my mom.
“I have been calling since yesterday, where is your phone? What number is this? Did you get in trouble?” My mom almost yelled at me, obviously alarmed.
“No, mom, I lost my phone. I’m taking care of it today, don’t worry. I’m using a phone booth in the meantime.”
“Did you return yesterday? How was the business trip? Did your boss behave?”
“Yes, good and yes.” I said, trying not to get into a lot of detail. I already knew that every word out of my mouth would be scrutinized by Dr. Mariana.
“Hmmm, avoidance. Meaningful.”
Boris was getting more restless by the minute, pulling and tugging on the leash, as I held him tightly in place. But Boris was a silly Saint Bernard, which meant he had the strength to drag me out of the booth if he so desired.
“I have to go, Mom. I’ll call you later.”
At that moment, Boris pulled the leash a last time, finally breaking the metal ring that tied it to the collar. Feeling free, he ran through the sidewalk, happy as a flea in a doghouse, completely ignoring me when I called him. I let go of the phone and ran after him, but I still heard my mom chuckling on the phone, amused by my hardship.
After a minute or two, I found him on the sidewalk, tail wagging, standing on top of some poor passerby laid on the ground, licking his face eagerly. I bolted in their direction, already mentally making up a felt apology, when I heard this distinctive baritone voice.
“Ok, dog, you had your fun. Now get off.”
Seeing Victor like that made me slow down my pace, amused to watch such a scene. Boris sensed me, though, and immediately left Victor’s unwilling lap, running to me instead.
Victor got up and started wiping his clothes with his hands, which made me notice the muddy paw prints on his white shirt and grey pants.
“Is the dog yours?” He asked, minding the stains on his clothes.
“It’s my neighbor’s. And he has been a bad dog, haven’t you Boris? Bad dog.” Boris laid down and hid his head under his paws, ashamed of being reprimanded. I turned to Victor. “Come on, I can help you with those stains.”
Victor seemed uneasy.
“Not necessary. Here, I came to give you this.” He put his hand in his pocket and took out my phone, which made me jump with joy.
“Thank you! I thought I left it in the airport or something. Where did you find it?”
“In my car. It’s a wonder you didn’t lose it sooner, judging by your lack of ability to organize your purse.”
I shrugged and started walking towards the house, Victor by my right side, and Boris on my left, following us. I decided not to dwell on this particular subject, predicting Victor was about to lecture me for being so messy.
“So you made a new friend today.” I said smiling.
Victor scoffed.
“He’s a silly dog, aren’t you, Boris?” I stopped by a red door, the entrance to my building. “Come on in.”
“I just came here to return the phone. Have a good weekend.” Victor said, turning away to leave.
“At least let me get you some coffee for the trouble I caused you. I insist.”
He nodded and came in, climbing the stairs with me. The building where I lived was old, it still had its original wooden floors and very narrow stairs, but I thought it had character. And although I lived in a tiny one-bedroom apartment, the apartment was sunny and had large windows, and a small balcony with stairs leading to the terrace, where I used to go at night to watch the stars. We got in, and it took like ten seconds for Victor to view my entire living room and eating kitchen, so small it was.
“Nothing like what you’re used to, I suppose.” I said while I put some coffee to brew, suspecting he was wondering how could anyone live in such a small place.
“Do you get this light all year?” He asked.
“Yes, it is very sunny all year. Except when, well, it’s cloudy.” I said, rolling my eyes at myself, so stupid. “Let me get you that coffee. Have a seat. I think I may have some cookies.” I turned my coffee pot on and quickly filled it with ground coffee.
“Just coffee is fine. Where should I sit?”
“Go crazy. I’ll follow.” I said, while rummaging my cabinet for mugs and placing two on the counter. “Are you sure about the cookies? They’re homemade. Peanut butter.” I said, fetching the cookies to serve on a plate.
Victor sad on a stool on my kitchen island, eyeing suspiciously the plate of cookies I placed on the wooden countertop. He took one, smelling it.
“You bake?”
“Occasionally. Go ahead, take a bite and then wash it down… With this.” I said, handing him a mug of freshly brewed coffee.
He looked at the cookie in his hand, and finally decided to bite on it. After some chewing and a raised eyebrow at me, he took a sip of the coffee. He nodded in approval.
“Hmmm, good. You bake, who knew.”
“I do not understand your surprise.” I said, pretending to be offended.
He suppressed a smile, looking around the place again.
“I like your place. It’s rare to see something affordable and in such a great condition in this neighborhood.”
“Yes, I was very lucky to find this place.” I said, taking a look at his muddied shirt. “The mud in your clothes is dry, you should be able to brush it off without leaving much of a stain.”
I went to my bathroom and returned with a small brush, handing it to him.
“Now you brush it off. It won’t be perfect, but it will look better.”
Victor took the brush from my hand and started removing the dried-up mud. In the meantime, Boris pulled my sleeve and dragged me towards the balcony, asking me to open the door so he could go lie in the sun. I left momentarily, arriving to find Victor still brushing himself, knitting his eyebrows.
“Is it coming off?”
“Somewhat. It’s still visible, though. It doesn’t matter, I can change when I get home.”
I looked at his clothes, the stains lighter but still clearly there.
“Do you mind if I try?”
He gave me a dirty look.
“Do you find me incapable of performing the simple act of brushing?”
“It takes some skill, you know.” I said, teasing him a bit. His expression didn’t change.
“I highly doubt it, but here. Enjoy.” He said, handing me the brush.
I started brushing the stains off his shirt, and although the stains were indeed hard to brush clean, I managed to get a better result. One would need to be very close to notice them.
As I went on with my task, I started noticing how his body felt warm under his shirt and how good he smelled, his cologne intoxicating me into a daze. Involuntarily, I moved closer to him and reached his shoulder to support myself as I looked for a better angle of the fabric on his chest. When I really noticed, my body was mere inches away from his, his face really close to mine. I noticed his Adam’s apple going up and down and his jugular pulsing fast. And his eyes set on me, his dark grey orbs watching me carefully.
The smart thing would be to step away, of course, but I didn’t. I took in his gentle expression, his scent, his warmth, and I basked in it all for as long as I could. For some reason I felt he was doing the same, and even though my mind screamed for me to run, all my other senses were stubbornly keeping me in place.
I suddenly forgot that I was brushing, as my other hand moved from his shoulder to his chest. I could feel his defined yet soft and warm pectoral, and the fast drumming of his heart under my fingertips. He moved his hand to my waist and pulled me slightly towards him, as to encourage me, and my heart beat even faster, making me light-headed.
And then his phone rang. We both jumped at the sound, my mind taking the chance to sound the alarm, urging for me to step away. He grabbed his phone and answered, his voice faltering slightly.
“Yes, Goldman.” He paused and looked at me. I was already distant from him, trying to steady my heartbeat and not look all flustered. “Okay, you can proceed. I’ll be there in half an hour.”
He spoke to me, already in his usual poised attitude, his expression unreadable.
“I need to go, we are experiencing issues with the servers at the office. Thank you for the coffee and the cleaning service. Get some rest.”
He turned to the door.
“Wait.” I stopped him and went to the kitchen to prepare a bag with some of my cookies. “For the road. I hope you solve those issues in time, so you can rest too. Have a good weekend.”
He reached for the bag, his hand lingering in mine.
“You too. Thanks.”
The door closed behind him and I was left alone, his scent still in my apartment. The rush of adrenaline I felt before gave way to a swelling on my chest.
I smiled like a fool, all by myself, while my instincts warned me about the dangers of falling in love.

Chapter 3
Erza hadn’t been sure what to make of the gift Gray had dragged through her door. And dragged appeared to be the right word for it.
The two had been friends since junior high, and Gray always had an odd sense of humor. If she didn’t know better, she’d suspect some sort of trick. The man that sat in the doorway with his arms crossed hardly looked like he knew one end of a spatula from the other, and his clothing was way, way too expensive. Not that Erza didn’t approve; she loved clothing and knew all the brands. She had a whole closet dedicated to her love of clothing. And she could appreciate a well-dressed man. But it didn’t show a lot of common sense to come into the kitchen dressed like you were planning to eat in the dining room of the Ritz.
Glancing around at the kitchen, she realized beggars couldn’t be choosers. It wasn’t like she was a baker by trade. Before inheriting the bakery, she worked part-time here and there at any outdoor job that would take her, as a jack-of-all-trades. Sometimes she’d work two or three jobs at once, just for the challenge. She loved learning new things and being outside in nature and most of the jobs around here were seasonal anyway.
There’d been nothing for it but to roll up her sleeves and learn on the job when the bakery fell in her lap, bequeathed by it’s very elderly owner Mr. Makarov, who retired and moved to Florida. She’d been a cashier and a waitress and a ski instructor and a camp counselor and park ranger and so many other things. How hard could it be to run a bakery?
Quite hard, it turned out.
There were so many things she needed to learn that had nothing to do with baking, and the baking part itself was something she struggled with. Eating her way through every treat she could get her hands on did not prepare her for how much work went into making those delicious morsels.
But quitting wasn’t in Erza’s nature, and she was certain with some hard work she could turn things around.
“Well, I suppose I will see you tomorrow?” she said, still skeptical of the man who spoke charmingly enough. Turning, she saw he’d acquired a cloth from somewhere, stripped off his jacket (and shirt!) and was making short work of all the splatter within arm’s reach. Surprised, she covered her awkward giggle with a cough and asked conversationally, “Do you have a place to stay?”
“The Heartfilia residence,” he answered, moving on to the nearest table, barely sparing her a glance. “Another of Gray’s friends. My brother seems to be quite the popular man.”
“It is a small town. Everyone knows everyone,” Erza bristled, sure he was making fun of her home.
He straightened up seriously, rag in hand absently, “I am sure I will too by the end of the summer. Miss Scarlett, you seem to have an impression of me I am not sure I deserve.”
Curse her wretched fair skin and freckles. Instead of answering in words, she spun to hide her burning face and to stop oogling his muscular chest. Of all the horrible habits to share with his brother, going topless did not have to be one of them!
“Anyway,” she heard the rag flop down on the table, “I will come back tomorrow morning early. Be sure to either leave the door unlocked or be here to meet me.”
Well, dang it. She’d made him mad. How early was early to him anyway? 8 or 9? Would he even bother to show up tomorrow? It wasn’t any real loss if he didn’t. He probably was a fair baker but poor, struggling Fairy Tail Bakery needed more than mediocre tarts and muffins to survive. It had been flagging under Makarov’s expert hand, and under Erza’s inexperienced one it was drowning.
Without Fairy Heart she wasn’t sure it could go on that much longer.
Maybe that was for the better.
She could say she gave it an honest try and go back to drifting between jobs. Of course, it’d be a shame. Fairy Tail had been in this town for generations, and there weren’t any good bakeries in the surrounding cluster of small towns either. A chain would probably move in or perhaps someone with more luck than Erza would give it a try. Ignoring the sinking, heavy feeling in her chest, she wondered what Magnolia would be like without it’s bakery. Once this had been a bustling, social hub where people came to gather during the day, the sun to the moon that was Mira’s bar.
“Girl, who was that hot, shirtless guy that just stalked out of here? And what did you do to drive away such a stud?”
Lucy Heartfilia, a charming and plucky blonde, grinned as Erza jumped out of her skin and her sad thoughts. Letting herself behind the counter, she leaned back against the display, looking through the open door to the kitchen.
“That,” Erza remarked stiffly, ignoring the hot and shirtless comment, “Is your new tenant for the summer.”
“That’s Gray’s brother?” Lucy whistled, impressed. “And here I thought it was a fluke Gray was so ripped after all those donuts and Mountain Dews. Guess those boys got some good genes.”
Erza frowned, trying not to think about it. Sure, she saw Gray half-naked all the time, but she thought of him like a dumb little brother. This was definitely different, and it felt very inappropriate. Especially since she had… someone else.
Sorry, Jellal, she said in her head.
Would he even care? Would he be jealous or disappointed she was looking at another guy? Erza wasn’t sure. It hadn’t come up before, and of course, he trusted her, but did she trust herself?
“Why were you looking?” Erza clicked her tongue, really questioning herself and not Lucy. “What would your girlfriend say?”
“She’d say go for it, babe; we need some more eye-candy around here. Not that she’d pay attention herself. Not unless said eye-candy had a well-stitched binding and some sweet, fresh off the press paper smell to it.” Lucy shrugged a my-girlfriend-is-a-bibliophile shrug and waved a book at Erza. “I was just bring over the latest and greatest erotica from our favorite author.”
“You?”
Lucy choked for a moment then laughed, “Our other favorite author. What makes you think I write erotica? I’ll just set this… okay, definitely not anywhere in here. Did you put the mixer on high again?”
“No.”
Yes. Again. Because she hadn’t learned her lesson the last half dozen times. Why did it even have that setting, if all it did was cause chaos?
Lucy rolled up her sleeves, eyes twinkling with good humor, and snatched up the rag left by Gray’s brother.
“First things first. You’re done destroying the kitchen for the day. We’re going to clean this mess up then you’re going to take the afternoon off to read this amazing novel and relax. I know you’re worried, but it’ll work out. Levy had a horrible time when she first opened her bookstore because she didn’t know how to order or stock or balance a budget, but now it’s thriving and hiring some employees to help out made a huge difference. Can you imagine Magnolia without it? Little mom’n’pops are Magnolia’s life blood and charm. The tourists don’t come here for Starbucks or Barnes and Noble after all.”
“No. No they do not,” Erza murmured to herself, thinking it a bit eerie Lucy had the same thoughts she had.
The author was a transplant to the town, visiting on vacation and never leaving. It wasn’t entirely an unheard of thing, but Erza sometimes wondered if it was Magnolia or Levy her friend was in love with more. If anyone in town could be the authority on the charm the town held to outsiders, Lucy would be it.
Erza simply had to trust things would turn out alright. What else could go wrong after all?

I’m Not ScaredAnymore
‘I should have given it to you earlier, but I was scared.  But, the thing is, I’m not scared anymore.’
Levi’s eyes darted between the crown glimmering in the reflected lightof the lanterns that floated all around them and the eyes of the girl who washolding it.  That damned crown, he’d hadno idea just a few days ago what trouble that thing was going to get himinto.  And he didn’t mean the wantedposters and royal guards that were out for his blood that was nothing new.  It was the girl, Petra that truly terrifiedhim.  Somehow in just a few short daysshe’d chipped away at his heart that he had always kept so carefully guardedand nestled her way in, never he thought, to be removed.
‘Do you know what I mean, Levi?’ She asked her voice full ofuncertainty.  Calling him by the namehe’d sworn he would never use again, not until he found a way to get Isabel andFarlan out of jail.
‘I’m starting to.’ He said his heart thumping in his chest at theimplications.
He should have known from the moment he told her his real name wasn’tFlynn that he was irrevocably in love with her. But he’d written it off to himself as spur of the moment because theyhad just barely escaped that cave with their lives.  The truth was he’d been itching to tell herit from the moment she’d charmed a group of thugs in that pub. No, he’d beenitching to tell her from the moment she’d smacked him round the head with herfrying pan.  A girl so fierce and yet sosoft, how could he of ever resisted her.
‘Petra I…’ he began, ready to confess all to her when a thought occurredto him. “Wait, I thought you had hidden it in the tower.’
‘I had,’ she tucked a lose lock of her long hair behind her ear.  ‘Truth is, the night we camped out whilst youwere collecting firewood my mother came to find me. She told me I should giveit to you to test you and see if you were being honest or if you wanted to useme for my hair.’
Something about her words set of a chain reaction in his brain, could itbe?
‘Petra, you’ve never left your tower before today?’
‘No, mother said it was too dangerous.’
‘Why?’
‘Because people would try to use me for my hair again, like they didwhen I was a baby.’
‘That’s the thing, if people had tried to use your hair as a baby, therewould have been rumours, stories of a girl with magical hair, but there aren’tany.’
Petra stared at him her eyes widening with shock, ‘none?’ She asked.
‘None.’
‘But there is,’ she said realisation lightening up behind her eyes ‘astory of a princess with golden hair who was born eighteen years ago today.’
‘And she was stolen away when she was just a baby.’ Levi finishedgravely.
‘Levi,’ Petra reached out holding onto his arm to steady herself, herbreath coming fast as the understanding hit her with the force of a physicalblow. ‘I’m the lost princess.’
XxXxXxX
It was all going according to plan, Petra dutifully followed her motherback to her tower having successfully played her part in pretending to berescued from the Stabbington brothers. As soon as they had seen the twinsappear on the shore it hadn’t taken them long to figure out what the woman shehad thought was her mother had planned. She worried her bottom lip as she wondered whether Levi had managed to escapefrom them like he had planned.
‘Come along dear, your dawdling.’ Mother said in a voice that justbarely concealed her distaste, how had she never noticed it before.
‘Sorry Mother.’ The title seemed wrong now she knew that this woman wasin fact her kidnapper.
‘Stop mumbling dear, you know how I hate the mumbling.’ Mother Gothelushered her in through the entrance to her tower that she had never known wasthere and slammed it shut behind them, baring it with a large wooden plank.
They were plunged into darkness, trapped again.  Suddenly panic began to rise up in Petra asshe ascended the stairs, what if something went wrong, what if Levi didn’t comefor her like he’d promised.  The thoughtof being trapped here again, living a mundane life after tasting freedom seemedimpossible.  Anger started to creep in aswell, when she thought of all that this woman who had claimed to be her motherhad stolen from her, her freedom, her family, her life. How many years had shewasted?
She was supposed to wait for Levi to come before she confronted Mother Gothelbut as she entered the main room of what she had thought was her home, hertemper snapped.  All this time she’dbeing living in a prison cell, like a caged animal, no more!
‘I’m the lost Princess.’
‘What?’ Mother Gothel’s eyes went wide with shock, and then narrowed amalicious glare spreading across her features.
‘We figured it all out, I’m the lost princess.  The only person who ever wanted to use myhair, the only person I should have been hiding from, was you.’
To Petra’s surprise Mother Gothel began to laugh.
‘You think this is funny?’ Petra shouted, her hands shaking with anger.  ‘You’ve taken everything from me.  It ends today, as soon as Levi gets here I’mleaving and you won’t stop me.’
‘You really think he’s coming back for you.’ Mothel Gothel’s voice wasdripping with disdain. ‘You foolish child, you know nothing of the world.  You really think you’re going to run off intothe sunset with that man. He’s not who you think he is, Flynn isn’t even hisreal name.’
‘Ha, see I already knew that, I’m not so helpless and naïve as youwanted me to believe, he told me his real name is Levi…’
‘Ackerman,’ her mother took the words right out her mouth.  ‘He told you his name but did he tell you whohe is?’
‘He told me he was an orphan from the underground, he told me he was athief, and you can’t stop me I know what I’m doing.’
‘Did he tell you that the value of that crown he stole, the one you gaveback to him by the way, is about the amount he needs to get his brother andsister out of jail. Did he tell you that?’
Petra hesitated, he’d told her that he had a brother and sister, but notthat.  Mother Gothel’s eyes gleamed withtriumph.
‘He’s not coming back for you, he’s going to get them out and then theywill hot tail it out of this kingdom before anyone catches them. You’re notgoing to see him again.’
Petra felt her heart ache at the words, could they really be true, couldit all have been a lie.  She thought backto the conversation they had by the fire the night before.  How the scowl she thought was a permanentfeature of his face had disappeared, how his grey eyes had almost shined blueafter he’d told her his real name and told her stories of the things he used toget up to with his siblings. Childhood memories, something she had been robbedof.  She straightened herself up to herfull height. Determination coursing through her, whether she’d imagined theromance or not she wouldn’t stay in this tower a moment longer, she would leaveand find Levi and if he didn’t want her she would make some kind of life forherself.  She wouldn’t be trapped hereanymore.
‘I’m leaving mother. You will never use me or my hair again.’  Petra turned determinedly away and began tomarch back in the direction of the concealed stairway.
Suddenly she found herself being yanked backwards by her hair.  She gasped in shock as she saw a flash ofsilver light as the woman she had always thought was her mother pulled a knifeand pressed it against her back.
‘Oh, you’re not going anywhere. And you better hope that your frienddoesn’t try following us because if he does I will kill him, do you under-‘ Herwords were cut of suddenly with a loud clang, she crumpled to the ground draggingPetra with her.
A strong hand reached out and caught her before she could hit theground.
‘Frying pans, who knew right?’
‘Levi!’ she jumped up throwing her arms around him, he seemed shockedfor a moment before returning her embrace more tightly.
‘I was worried I wouldn’t get here in time.’ His usually calm voicequivered with emotion.
‘But you did, now let’s get out of here.’ She linked her fingers throughhis.
‘You’re not going anywhere.’ Mother Gothel had come to her senses andwas back on her feet knife in hand.  Shelunged at Petra but Levi pulled her out of the way.  The knife just grazed her shoulder cuttingthrough a few strands of her hair.  Levistuck out his foot and sent Mother Gothel sprawling onto the ground, the knifefell out of her hand and scattered across the floor.  Petra dashed after it and picked it up.
‘Petra, petal, what are you doing.’ Mother Gothel said, her tonerevealing the panic she was trying to conceal.
Petra looked at the few strands of hair that had been caught in the scufflethey had changed colour from gold to auburn.
‘I’m sorry mother, I need to be free.’ With her words she grabbed herhair and pulled the knife through it, severing her long plait.  It fell to the ground with a thud.
Mother Gothel began to scream and Petra couldn’t help but cry outherself when she saw the woman’s face aging rapidly.
‘Mother-’ She reached out for her on instinct but Levi’s steady hand onher shoulder kept her back, she watched in horror as the woman dissolved intodust before her eyes. At the last moment she turned round and buried her headin Levi’s shoulder hot tears falling down her cheeks.  Levi wrapped his arms around her and held hertightly until she lost track of time.
‘How could I have done that?’ Her voice came out quiet after she hadfinally stopped crying.  ‘I didn’t knowit would kill her.’
‘You couldn’t have known.’
‘I killed my own mother.’
‘She wasn’t your mother.  Shekidnapped you, imprisoned you and used your power to keep herself young longbeyond her time it would seem.’
Petra pulled back from his embrace and looked into his eyes. ‘What do Ido now?’
‘Now you have to go and find your true family and find a new dream.’ Hesaid tucking a lock of her now shorter hair behind her ear.  ‘Hey did I ever tell you I had a thing forred heads.’
Petra laughed.  ‘The thing is- Iwas kind of planning on you being my new dream.’
‘You were?’
‘Yes.’
‘Petra I-‘
He looked away and she braced herself for his rejection.
‘You are my new dream to.’ His words came out almost in a whisper.  ‘And I want nothing more than to reunite youwith your parents and make a life with you if you want but, there is somethingI need to do first.’
‘Get your brother and sister out of prison?’
‘How did you know?’
‘Mother told me, she said you weren’t coming back.’
‘Petra I will never leave you again, but I can’t abandon them either.’
‘Then don’t, let’s get them out together.’
‘Really?’
‘Sure, I’ve done the whole damsel locked in a tower.  I’ve got a life of being a princess ahead.  I think it would be fun to be swashbucklingrouge for a little bit.’
‘Ok, but there’s one other thing I need to do first.’
‘What now?’ She cried unable to keep the exasperation out of her voice.
‘This.’ And to Petra’s surprise he put her arms around her and loweredhis head for a kiss.  Petra held herbreath for a moment before throwing her arms around his neck and returning hiskiss.
It seemed her life had finally begun.
============================================
(A/N - Hey Anon, I really hope this is ok.  It was such a good prompt as I love Tangled, I feel like Petra quite easily swaps in with Repunzle but Flynn/Eugene and Levi wasn’t as easy because their characters are on opposite ends of the scale so I hope this reads ok. (If I was going to pick a AOT character that is a close personality fit to Eugene/Flynn I’d probably pick Jean) This was a lot of fun to write and because its Disney it had to be fluffy so I hope you enjoy.  I didn’t have a lot of time to edit so please excuse any spelling/grammar mistakes.)

Splitting Seeds
Title: Spitting Seeds
Pairing: NaLu
Summary: Lucy knows that her mistake was falling in love. But her worst mistake was falling in love with him.
Rating: T; I think it’s the best rating???
None of these characters are owned by me, they are all owned by the wonderful Hiro Mashima! Also, Miraculous Ladybug is owned by Zag Heroez! I do not own any of that at all.
A/N: Honestly I saw this from a Miraculous Ladybug comic, and I’d never seen the Hanahaki Disease au so I wanted it and here it is. I WANT EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU TO KNOW HOW MUCH I HURT MY OWN FEELINGS. The splitting lines are to show a timeskip since Hanahaki is supposed to occur over time.
The Hanahaki Disease is an illness born from one-sided love, where the patient throws up and coughs of flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. The infection can be removed through surgery, but the feelings disappear along with the petals.
FF.net
Lucy stared into the sink where three little seeds burned holes into her chest. Her hand squeezed the white porcelain with the worst realization of her life: she was in love. Worst of all she was in love with Natsu. Her eyes teared up, but she rubbed them on the sleeves of her sweater while trying to convince herself that she didn’t hate herself for having stupid feelings. She never thought it would happen to her, but she should have expected it. Her mother had often told her of the stories when she had yet to tell her father she loved him. The chest pain, the breath that would not leave her lungs, the flower petals pouring from her mouth. She should have expected. Obviously it ran in her DNA.
The rustling of her curtains alerted her to her pink-haired partner’s arrival. It seemed to her that he had been appearing nightly for the past couple of weeks. Sometimes he brought Happy with him, and other times he didn’t. It was sporadic just like him. She coughed lightly spitting four more seeds into the sink before washing them all down the drain. She couldn’t let her teammates see her like this let alone Natsu. She cleared her throat as she pushed past the curtain that separated her bathroom from her bedroom.
The pinkette was lounging in the small love seat she’d bought for him, and Happy, when she noticed the peculiar amount of time the two spent in her home. Her heart skipped a beat, and internally she kicked herself for the stupidity of her own emotions. She had Hanahaki Disease after all. It was a disease stimulated by a heartbreaking one-sided love. Soon, it wouldn’t be just seeds she spit into the sink, but the flower petals of her heart’s desire. She shuddered at the thought of what would happen to her body, and even her mind.
There was a treatment that could rid her of this curse. Porlyusica had informed her that it wouldn’t be difficult to remove the roots taking form in her lungs, but it had a price to pay. There was always a price to pay. She’d lose her emotions, and she’d lose her memories. She’d have to give up everything about Natsu to save her own life, but she just couldn’t do it. She thought of Hargeon where they first met, she thought of the moment she got her Fairy Tail mark pressed to her skin and the overwhelming feeling that he had to be the first to see it. She remembered every single fight they’d been side by side for. She remembered when he left, but also when he came back for her. She remembered when he brought her family back when she thought there was nothing left to save.
She’d rather live out the rest of her days by his side, and with her guild then face the reality of losing them. She’d truly rather die. She stifled another cough by clearing her throat once more, and Natsu jolted. He looked at her as though he hadn’t seen her, or heard her, come into her own room. Dear Mavis, she lived here why was he so shocked to see her in HER apartment? Her cheeks puffed slightly, but before she could speak a word he was giving her that bright smile he always wore when he saw her. Well, saw anyone. That smile was reserved for the guild, and for the people he redeemed, and also the people he saved.
“Try not to look so surprised when the owner of the apartment is in her own room.” She teased, and his cheeks dusted in a light pink. He was looking away with a face of indignation.
“Try not to take twelve years in the bathroom.” He retorted, which she supposed was a fair point. Still, it was HER bathroom. She also had other priorities. He stood from the love seat and padded toward the restroom. He must have needed to go. It didn’t explain the dazed look in his eyes. As soon as she heard the toilet flush, and the water start running she coughed into her palm. Six seeds, she counted. The amount of seeds she coughed up per day was escalating. Yesterday was twelve, today was a starling 36. A scowl crossed her lips as she dumped them into the trash with an aggressive toss.
The ruffles of the curtain brushed together as her partner rejoined her in the room once again wearing that dazed look. He immediately corrected himself upon seeing her looking in his direction, and she smiled in relief.
“Are you ready to sleep?” she asked, assuming he’d spend another night with her just as he had the past few weeks. She’d learned to love his warmth, and most of all spending every second she could with him would give her everything she wanted. Plus, it was the dead of winter and it was cold as all hell outside.
“What? Can’t wait to finally get your heater back? Are ya cold without me?” he teased her, but yes to all of it.
“And if I said yes?” she gave him what he thought was a dangerous look. They glistened with some sort of unexplained excitement. He was happy to look into those eyes, and memorize the color of her iris. It was dark like the hot chocolate they’d had with Happy the night before, and he desperately wanted to hold that memory close. Soon, he’d lose them all. Even if he had no memories once the treatment was over, but he just couldn’t stand the thought of leaving her all alone. He’d seen the crumbled Lucy when he came back after the one year of training, and he knew it’d be like that all over again if he died.
He was under no impression that the blonde in front of him would love him back. It was impossible. She was strong, smart, courageous, thoughtful, and even though she didn’t think so without her Team Natsu wouldn’t be able to function like it did currently. She was more than she ever thought she was, and sometimes she knew that. Other times, she didn’t. There was no way that strong willed Lucy loved him, in fact he wasn’t sure she loved anyone. She had her face shoved in books, and her quill always flowing across pages with seamless accuracy. She was too busy for love.
In the same respect he’d been the same way before Tartaros attacked. Before Igneel had returned, but simultaneously been lost. His quest for his Father had ended, and he’d left to get stronger than ever so he could protect the ones dear to him. He had just realized not long ago that Lucy was different. With his missions finally over, and his mind cleared he’d found himself hopelessly in love with her. Meanwhile, she was in the middle of her own journey. She had things to do like: find Aquarius, publish her sequel, complete the 100 year quest, the list went on and on. She was busy just like he’d been.
“I guess I’d have to give the Heiress what she wanted. Who knows what the great Lucy Heartfilia was capable of.” He shrugged with exaggeration, and she let out a long groan with a sigh at the end. The damned Dragon Slayer hadn’t left her alone since he’d discovered that with her first novel there was talk of the return of the Heartfilia Konzern where Lucy would obviously take the reins. Lucy was adamant that there was no need for it since she had everything she dreamed of, and dealing with the mess of the Heartfilia scandals was not on the list of things she wanted to do. Her cheeks puffed out slightly.
“Oh? Does the great, and powerful Dragon Slayer want to sleep outside?” her arms crossed over her chest as Natsu immediately paled and shook his head. His entire body shivered as he wrapped his arms around himself.
“Please don’t.” a short statement from him was expected. If there was anything he hated it was the cold. She crawled into her comforter and shimmied to the wall where she lifted the blanket to pat the spot next to her.
“Hurry up then.” He didn’t need further persuading. He was instantly tucked against her body with his nose buried in her neck. In her chest a small ache made her grit her teeth before finally relaxing. They’d slept like this every night since he’d started staying with her. It was almost like he was memorizing her smell, her touch, her skin, her body. Their limbs tangled together as she pulled him to her, and pushed her nose into his hair. Tears bubbled in her eyes before dripping onto the silk covers on her pillow, but she fought to stay still and quiet until she was asleep.
           He could never know.
Coughs shattered through her body as wet petals splattered into the trash can of the guild’s restroom. She wasn’t going to be to keep up her charade at this rate. The petals were slick with her blood, and her throat was raw. It had become difficult for her to keep up with her team on missions, so while they were currently away she had fibbed about being sick. It wasn’t entirely inaccurate, but a lie was still a lie. She hated the feeling in her gut when it had slipped past grit teeth, but spending a second longer to convince them would have been the second that ruined her guise.
“Mavis! Lu, look at you! You can’t keep doing this. You have to tell someone. Even if it’s just Porlyusica, or master!” Levy’s voice came from behind her as small, delicate hands held back her hair.
“No. If I tell them, if I say something they’ll just tell me to do the treatment. I won’t. I want to remember you all, and the feelings I have. I don’t want to lose love at the expense of my life.” Lucy had already made her choice two months ago in the winter when she and Natsu still shared a bed. Now, in the spring they no longer spent long nights awake. She couldn’t have him with her. She couldn’t keep up her façade with him in her bed.
Another bout of coughs wracked her body, but instead of thick petals of blood she saw the roses, and daisies, and carnations drip from her mouth. And while they were still tinged with red she was happy to be able to see the beauty that could still come from them. Her vision blurred briefly, but she ignored that.
“Lu please. None of us want to lose you? What about Erza, Grey, Happy, and Natsu? What would they do without you?” the sound voice of reason that was the blunette would not reach her now, but Lucy gave her an encouraging smile anyway.
“They’ll be sad, but they’ll learn to live and move forward.” She was sure of it, just as she was sure of her decision. The hardest thing she had to deal with now were her spirits. Loke was angry, as was his right to be, and he’d had harsh words from Aquarius who couldn’t stand the thought of losing her just as she’d lost Layla. Lucy would leave her keys to Team Natsu. They’d find good homes for her precious friends she just knew it.
           “Lu—”
“It’s okay, Levy.” Another reassuring smile from the blonde had Levy sobbing into her thick blonde hair.
“Thank you for taking care of me.” She pat the girl on the head softly, and the small woman just nodded silently. Levy McGarden said not a word more, but her sobs were enough to tug Lucy’s heartstrings.
Her head touched the cold porcelain of her toilet seat as she wheezed for what seemed like an entire century. Catching her breath had become cumbersome, and her friends were starting to notice her behavior, and the way her skin was always pale, and the dark circles under her eyes. Normally, their friend was well kept, and full of pep, but lately she’d been sticking to a cycle of tank tops and shorts. Her hair was always down, and she was always so tired.
The thing that had Team Natsu the most concerned was Natsu himself. He’d been in a similar condition, and he’d been spending a lot of time disappearing, and reappearing as he pleased. Lucy herself had stopped taking missions four months ago as summer approached, and Natsu had nearly gotten himself killed two weeks ago, and since then he’d quit going with them. With Erza, and Grey, being the last remnants of the team they had awkwardly gone back to solo missions which they quickly found to be no fun without their three missing members.
They’d tried convincing Lucy, but she’d brushed them away, and even changed her locks. The fireplace was blocked, her window sealed tightly. She said she had to finish her sequel, and couldn’t have distractions coming and going as they pleased, but that was suspicious as well. For the first novel she’d had them come over and reminisce all their missions again and again. This was out of character for her, and for them to not barge into her home was also out of character.
They hadn’t seen hide nor hair of Natsu in a week, and they hadn’t physically seen Lucy in the same time frame. Maybe the two were hiding together. Neither Grey, nor Erza, had a clue.
Lucy had since stopped her visits a week ago, and even banned Levy from coming in. Levy was only pained by watching her friend fall apart, and the heiress couldn’t force her to keep doing so. Lucy Heartfilia quickly realized that she might die here. Alone. She suddenly wished she’d told her friends. Maybe they could have helped, or maybe they could have at least been there.
She fought once again for air, and she wondered what petals blocked her airways. Were they roses? Daisies? She hoped they were Chrysanthemums. They were her favorite flower. It was the first flower her mother had ever taught her about, and it was the first flower Natsu brought to her.
“Ya like these ones right?” he wasn’t sure, and he prayed to Mavis he was right. To him all wild flowers looked the same. But she had a favorite, and he wanted to see her smile so he could imprint it into his mind.
“How’d you know?” her head tilted in confusion as she watched the pinkette turn his head away from her with a quick motion.
“What’s it to ya?” he muttered, shoving the fluffy bud into her chest. It was the same shade as his hair, and with warmth in her chest she gave him the brightest smile she had.
Tears pooled in her eyes at the memory. Mavis, she loved that stupid boy. She pushed herself from the toilet, and her bare back hit the wall. She sat in her fluffy white towel, which now had gathered speckles of dark red, and stared at the mess of her bathroom. Mixtures of blood and petals littered the shower, and her floors, but she didn’t have the energy to clean.
Another wheeze, and another wave passed through her as she one again struggled to breath. She’d been getting attacks and chest pain for two weeks now, and she had tried everything to hide them, but the guild would notice soon. She couldn’t hide it much longer.
A rattling noise sounded from her window as the assailant struggled against it. After a few moments it stopped, and she figured they’d given up whatever attempt at thievery they were trying. Then, the noise of her window shattering to pieces sounded. They’d take her keys. If it were bandits they’d surely take the keys she’d left on her desk.
She struggled to move, but her body wouldn’t obey. She shimmied her body slightly only to crash to the tile floor of her restroom.
“Natsu.” She whispered, but she’d locked him out, and there’s no way he would come now. Footsteps stomped towards her in a stumbling motion before a hand shoved her curtains back. She struggled to look up, but her vision was a blur, and all she could see was pink. He’d be certain to know now.
“What the hell is this?” his voice was low, and unforgiving. The amount of rage was something Lucy could not fathom, and surely it was her fault.
Natsu felt differently. He wasn’t angry with Lucy. No. He was angry at whoever caused this. While his body was slowly collapsing all he could feel was anger at whoever had caused his Lucy to run ragged. She was lying in her own blood, surrounded by petals that had no doubt come from her very lungs. Someone out there didn’t love Lucy. The Lucy who never failed her friends, who never broke her promises, and the same one he loved. He loved her, and some idiot out there failed to see her most beautiful qualities.
His legs gave out under him, and he collapsed next to her. He was lucky to be sitting up, and since he could he decided to move to her. Eventually, and with a lot of struggle, he pulled her towards him gingerly. Her head rested in his lap, and he tangled his calloused, scarred fingers through her wet hair. It was silky, surprisingly, most likely from the shower she had finished.
“Who?” he also wanted to ask why. She’d pushed every single one of them away, and this was why. She was just going to let herself die. Why? No, he knew why. Lucy the hopeless romantic who loved love, and loved her guild, and loved her family, and friends. Sweet Lucy would rather die alone than give up her feelings or her memories.
“You.” Lucy figured now was better than never. She was dying, and nothing short of his reciprocation would stop that. She should have done this sooner, and she should have done it months ago. A deep rumble thundered in Natsu’s chest, and it took her more time than she’d admit to herself to realize he was laughing. He was laughing!? Normally, she’d go for the kill, but she couldn’t muster the strength. She could barely even see.
“I’ve been coughing up these damned chrysanthemums for months, and Mavis help me I’ve never been so mad.” He was trying to finish his sentence through laughs, and bouts of wet coughing.
Wait. He’d been coughing up chrysanthemums. Flowers. Petals. It dawned on her that he suffered too. Strong as an ox Natsu was also losing his battle to Hanahaki. Tears spilled from her eyes. Not because he loved someone else, but because he was dying. She couldn’t stand the thought of him leaving this world so soon. He may be 400+ years old, but he hadn’t experienced all that life had to offer.
“Stop crying, Luce.” His voice was soft, and he was slowly, weakly stroking her hair.
“But you’re dying.” Her voice cracked, and betrayed her signaling the fact that she was crying. The hand halted.
“You’re a damn hypocrite. I’M dying. You’re dying. Ya let yourself get so bad, and ya wouldn’t even tell us.” He stopped to wheeze, but he was always so healthy that it was no wonder he still had the strength left. “You idiot.” He turned her head up to face him. Her eyes were now longer the shade of hot chocolate, now they were the most beautiful amber, even though they were dazed with a look he recognized from Future Lucy.
“You damned idiot.” He muttered, leaning down and pushing his lips to hers. His were rough, and chapped. They were as dry as a desert, but she was sure she wasn’t much better.
The metallic tasted of blood entered his mouth, and the hand that had moved her face had changed from a grip to a gentle caress.
The two parted, and for the first time in months the pair could breath.
They both gulped air like it was the first glass of water in the morning.
“I love you.” Her voice was soft, and he’d barely heard it. He immediately looked to her, and her smile was all he needed. He flashed her that grin that she so desperately loved. She tried to sit up, but her strength was non-existent. So, he moved her. He moved her to her bed, and she tucked herself against the wall. He climbed in after her, shoving his nose into her neck to take in deep breaths of her scent.
She tucked her nose in his hair, and finally their limbs tangled together just as they had in the nights of winter.

Chapter Two
CHAPTER THREE
Be Kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle
- Plato
It had been another restless night. Not like the previous night, this feeling was somewhat in anticipation for what the next day brought. I admit the thought of a certain pink haired boy crossed my mind but his words stuck the most. I found it hard not to smile in my bed tonight despite the conditions I was currently in. The misery in this place won't bring me down. I have a new resolve now, thanks to Natsu.
Now with his task at hand I suggested that we start by bringing Levy and Erza in on the pact. Morning was too far away for comfort since I couldn't speak to them last night after school.
There was just no time at all.
From getting new assignments to cleaning, it took us all the free time we had and of course there was that little amount of time to go over the day's work from the first day of school.
Everyone was just too exhausted.
I had Garden Duty, which was disgusting; spring had just arrived so shovelling manure was not what I was expecting. I still think I smell like crap, but the stench of sweat in the dorm didn't really allow other smells to take over. I know this is a juvenile school but there really should be some kind of hygiene regulation.
I huffed and wiggled on the hard mattress to find a comfortable position. The springs in the bed squeaked every time I moved. I received a few hisses from some of the girls because of the annoying sound. I decided to keep my back turned to the window and faced Levy's bed.
I couldn't help but to gaze towards Levy's bed next to mine, her face peaked out of the blankets and had gained many cute points from me. She didn't cry tonight, but the circles around her eyes indicated she was just as tired as I was. There had been no time to cry out in all honesty. I faintly tried to move and look at where Erza was sleeping. She was near the door and next to another girl I saw in Confessionals. The name Juvia was the one I remembered, she was in cahoots with that scary guy who yelled at me today. She eyes me a little, for a reason I'm not quite sure of.
It wouldn't hurt to form our group around our peers in that stupid group circle. Zancrow certainly enjoyed the strong insecurity between us in that group, and he loved the reactions. I tried to imagine the face he would make when the next Confessionals came around and we made our group. His face would look similar to when I stood up against him. I giggled softly into my covers at the image.
I slowly closed my eyes and let the slumber take me. But it felt like I only slept for 30 minutes before the morning siren went off.
What time did I eventually fall asleep?
Groaning, I hoisted myself out my bed rubbing the excess sleep dust from my eyes. My vision was finally starting to clear up and I saw Levy speedily getting ready and was the first to finish tidying and leave. I was only half-way through dressing which made me panic to go faster. The panic rose higher when Erza left and now I was sloppily cleaning which got me a scolding from Ultear.
Ten minutes later I ran out the dorm house towards the cafeteria. My breath was short; clearly showing my lack of exercise. I received many glares from the people I passed; receiving looks like that was new to me. I suppose the heiress of a big company wouldn't be treated any lower than a well-mannered aristocrat. But things were different now; I'm classified as one of them thanks to my father.
I'd rather be a delinquent than an heiress anyway.
No matter how I was treated by those high class business partners of my father, I saw them all the same way: Two-faced, cowardly, rude, arrogant, and boring, let's not forget controlling. From the moment I turned 16, I was only treated as an investment, told not only to talk like them or walk like them, but to actually think like them. I never let it get to me though thanks to the earlier upbringings of my mother, but she couldn't protect me for my adolescent years.
I'm 18 now and I have been fighting my father's requests for marriage to a business partner's son.
Hell I even slapped most of them.
They were disgusting men, greedy and shallow, I couldn't stand it anymore. I started running away from home frequently; which led up to the situation I was in now.
What was I supposed to do?
The scolding I got from my father didn't affect me, the threats to disown me were appealing. That's when I finally saw that my father's business meant more to him than I did. My attempts at escape escalated which provoked my dad to put me in my current situation. It didn't matter though; I'll stay here as long as I can to finally be cut out of my father's life. It shouldn't take that long since I'm almost of age to not be in my father's custody.
I can do it… I will do it.
I decided to walk slower due to my tiredness and ignored the weird stares from the dodgy looking kids. My appearance didn't really fit in I'll admit, but the stares just felt really overbearing.
As I walked along the path feeling the breeze between the trees I sighed softly, closing my eyes.
"You seem to be enjoying my school Miss Heartfilia." a deep voice broke out behind me.
I stopped and looked over my shoulder, not particularly happy to see who was behind me. I turned around to face Principal Hades. I couldn't force back the frown that formed on my lips and my glare was blatantly obvious. He only kept a solid expression which wasn't angry nor happy, just… blank.
"I think your eyes are deceiving you sir." I replied bitterly.
He only rolled his eyes half-heartedly "My my, what a scary face. Is this any way for an heiress of a multi-million Jewel company to behave?" he asked with a bit of tease in his voice.
"Sorry to disappoint Sir, but I'm in this school now; which renounces that title." I replied bluntly.
"I see…" he said letting the conversation hang in the air.
He looked to the outer gate with his one good eye and started speaking to me again but kept his eyes on the forest "You seem to be getting along with my system… We'll have to change that." And he looked me in the eyes once again and walked past me.
My brain was trying to process what he meant by that. Speaking to him left me shaking in fear although my composure seemed stronger than what it was. I had no time to doddle in these thoughts since I didn't have much time to eat and speak to Levy and Erza.
My idea of strolling to breakfast was thrown out the window and I started running to the cafeteria.
I managed to make it before the kitchen closed and grabbed some oatmeal again and then started to look for Levy and Erza. To my surprise they were sitting together and were speaking to another guy.
It was Natsu.
I quickened my pace to the trio and stood in front of them gawking. Natsu noticed me and smiled widely.
"Heya Luce. I saw you weren't with these guys so I decided to talk to them." Natsu said folding his arms proudly.
Levy and Erza looked up to Lucy and smiled. Natsu already started the pact without me. I wouldn't have been able to with the disruption this morning. I placed my tray down and before I could sit Natsu inch closely to me about to whisper in my ear.
"You know, Erza is a bit scary. I asked for some strawberry stuff she had with her porridge and she almost punched me" He commented.
"What was that?" Erza yelled at the two of us.
The vibe was uncannily scary. I found myself shivering next to Natsu. Why was she so scary all of a sudden? She seemed so different from yesterday.
Natsu squealed a sorry and bowed at the angry red head; which was indeed comical. Erza snapped out of her scary mode and apologised for her sudden outburst. She stood up and grabbed Natsu and I into a bone breaking hug. It wasn't a metaphor, I'm sure we were close to death. It felt like she was wearing an armoured torso piece it was so hard.
After she released us we tried to catch our breath. We learn new things every day, and there was more to Erza than I thought. Levy only sat down giggling slightly and kept her Shakespeare book next to her, it was even book marked. She loved to read, as I do. My mind was drawn back to reality when I looked to the large clock at the end of the hall and I only had 10 minutes to eat. Panicking I sat down and ate the tasteless, odd textured oatmeal in disgust. Natsu was chewing on some stale toast next to me, the two girls were finishing up and departed from our table. I desperately took in my glass of water to get the taste out of my mouth and noticed Natsu was just chuckling by my side.
We were awfully close.
It looked I was almost sitting on top of him and our arms were near intertwining. My face was turning red at the thought. He turned his head to look at me and noticed something was up.
"You sick or something, you're looking really hot?" He said bringing the back of his hand to my forehead.
I couldn't deal with the closeness so I jolted back "No- I um, I'm fine." I said in alarm.
He raised his eyebrow sceptically and shrugged. "Did something happen this morning?"
The question made me pause for a bit. Something weird did happen this morning but… that was unrelated to my situation here.
"Something odd did happen this morning. The Principal spoke to me."
Natsu dropped his toast on his plate and had a blank expression "You're kidding. What did he say?"
My eyes fell on my lap "It was really weird. I wasn't sure whether he was mocking me or what, but he said that I seemed to be getting along with his system and that he'll have to change that."
My eyes looked up to Natsu who appeared to be deep in thought. I hadn't known him long but he did not seem the type to ponder over big matters. His smile always suggested he was carefree and that many things didn't bother him. My thoughts were contradicted by that look on his face, he was... so intense in thought.
He blinked a few times and looked at my confused face "I… uh, should be getting to class." I said breaking him away from his thoughts.
He frowned but brought his hand to my head and ruffled my hair playfully. I whined at the action.
"Be careful today. And stick close to the three of us when you can." He said smiling softly.
My cheeks heated up again but I wasted no time getting up so the pinkette couldn't see. I thanked him and left with my tray. Once I was out of the cafeteria I went back to the Dorm house to get my bag and headed straight to my first lesson. I had a few minutes to take my time and once again I started to think of Natsu.
This wasn't good. My little crush was escalating and it made me worry. I had many things to worry about if I actually did like him.
The first would be that he might be a bit unstable. Pyromania isn't something you can take lightly. My reasoning to ignore it was the thought that maybe there was an important reason behind burning his home back in his hometown. The second, I might never see him again if I get out of this place. The thought alone made my heart squeeze slightly with sadness. And then the Third thing was, if in fact I fall him, I still might be in my dad's clutches in regards of marrying me off. What then?
What could I do about all three?
It's true that how your reasoning can be ignored by the unedifying feelings you keep in your heart. What attracted me to Natsu so much was his kindness as a display of humanity compared to most of the people in this hell. Living in my Fathers custody, I was shown the same treatment by the workers of the mansion, although I didn't get to see them all that often what with being observed by my father and his guards.
Maybe I'm confusing liking him and just enjoying his kindness? I don't want to believe that either. I've met many suitors before, sucking up to me with 'kindness' and found that none of those words uttered to me were genuine. Natsu was genuine though, from the moment I met him.
Thinking about Natsu took up my minds space and I noticed I already arrived at the schools main building. Coming through, I almost forgot that we needed to be checked by security. With a crappy attitude the woman who searched me was not very kind with my bag. Dropping all its contents on the floor she didn't bother to pick up, which led to me going on the floor to do it for her. She also had the nerve to tell me to hurry and get out the way.
I was fuming. I was no criminal, but today might change that.
After collecting my things, I moved to my first class. Many shoved past me just like yesterday and many of the girls shot me dirty looks as I walked past them. I gave myself a short reminder not to be alone with them.
Once I reached my first class I placed my bag on my desk and looked out the window like yesterday. The trees really where tall, it sure makes me feel small and helpless. The helpless part definitely sounded accurate. I brought my eyes to the chalk board in front. The messy scribbling on it said we needed our scientific calculators out today for calculus. I let my hand drop into my bag to look for it but found nothing. Surprised I used both my hands to pry open my bag and search for it. I must have missed it when my bag was abused earlier. I groaned in an unladylike way. I still had time before class started and I took off running towards the door.
As soon as I reached the door I collided with another person.
Knocked to my behind I looked up to the person I bumped into. It was a young girl, who looked like she was supposed to be in middle school. Her hair was a bright bubble-gum pink and was cut short but only to have some medium pieces at the back. She looked surprised, unsure of what just happened, after she frowned and her green-grey eyes started to collect tears.
And then she screamed.
I pushed myself to her and her eyes were wet from her wailing. I didn't know what to do! I tried to hush her down but she kept pushing me away. Was I going to get into trouble?
I felt the presence of someone behind me. Yep I was in shit.
I turned around and looked up to find my dorm mother Ultear. And she didn't look happy. In fact I feel more scared of her then the first day I met her.
The little girl hopped to her feet and ran to Ultear, still in tears.
"M-Momma!" she cried.
Oh no.
Ultear soothed, from what I presume, her daughters back and smiled gently to her. It was nice to see that she could do that. But I thought too soon, for when she lifted her head and looked at me, I knew I was a goner.
"I read your file and saw that you had some fighting issues. But let's get things straight here, my daughter isn't one of your suitors you can beat up Miss Heartfilia!" she snarled.
"I… no that's not-"
"You'll be swapping your chore today. I want to see you on the roof top at your lunch break. And in something else besides your uniform." she interrupted me then left with the girl.
What just happened?
I was starving.
The humidity was killing me too. And being on the roof made it hard to breathe.
I waited until I noticed two men come from the stairwell with two buckets of tar. And Ultear was behind carrying a large mop. What in hells name did she want me to do?
They set down the buckets and stood guard by the entrance of the stairwell. Ultear walked towards me with a cold gaze. She shoved the mop in my hand and pointed to the buckets of tar.
"You're task till the end of the day will be to resurface the roof." She said walking to the guards.
Whether or not she knew but I heard her tell them to watch over me. And as she left their eyes darted to me dangerously to start. I tied my hair high and dunked the mop into tar. It was really heavy. I struggled to push and pull the mop back and only after 30 minutes I covered a corner of the roof and my back was aching badly.
After two hours I managed to do three quarters of the roof and the guards focus drifted away from me and had a conversation among themselves. That made my life a bit simpler without having glaring eyes on me for the whole day. My stamina was wearing out fast though, if two hours only produced this then it looks like I'll be here till dinner time. My spirit was breaking fast.
I dunked the mop in the tar and heard some commotion by the stairwell. I stopped to watch and I instantly saw those pink locks.
Natsu was pushed out of someone's way behind him which was our Confessionals counsellor Zancrow. Instead of his sneers he always seems to have, his teeth were gripping in anger. Natsu looked slightly annoyed though, but not angry like the wild haired blonde next to him.
"Enjoy your punishment you shit. Here's an extra mop. Go." He growled.
The two guards tried hard not to chuckle "What did he do to piss you off Zancrow?"
He grabbed the guard's shirt and yanked him to his face "That son of a bitch started a fire in a waste bin outside my classroom." [JBB: Hahahaha, typical Natsu]
My eyes widened at what I heard and my grip on the mop tightened. My fear of him being a serious pyromaniac is growing fast. How did he even do it without a lighter?
Natsu casually strolled to the bucket of tar next to me and winked at me quickly so the guards didn't see.
I was slack jawed for a minute until one of the guards yelled at me to get back to work. I jumped in surprise and continued to work. While I continued on the backbreaking journey I would look to Natsu who was having an easier time than I was. His eyes would look at me too every so often and my lungs would decide not to work for a moment. I was staring at his muscles now… what is wrong with me?
The logic behind not falling for Natsu Dragneel was tough to ignore indeed, not just in appearance but his smile would literally make my heart thump and his childlike way of behaving made me feel like I was in a safe haven, away from the adults do's and don'ts. Let's not forget his loyalty, from day one he stood up for me and day two he was about to knock someone's lights thus ending up doing manual labour like now.
I definitely can't ignore him. As much as I tried, he squirmed his way into my heart.
When I heard the guards talk I kept my eyes on my work but spoke up to Natsu. "Why did you burn the waste bin outside Zancrow's class?"
I saw his lips twist into a smile as he continued to work. "I saw you on the roof at Lunch. So after I torched the outside of his class I challenged him, saying there was no work I couldn't do. I'm glad he chose the job I had in mind."
My pace slowed down to a half-hearted push and pull of the mop. And then I felt something wet on my face.
I was crying.
Once I realised I was, I tried not to wail.
There was no way I could stop the wheels from turning.
The undeniable fact was…
I was falling for Natsu Dragneel.

Tell us more about your ships and why do you ship those... both my hero academia and ft cus I'm looking for more ships to fill my life
Sure thing! Let’s start with FTcause bnha has soooo many characters and is a hodgepodge of ships.
Fairy Tail:
Gajevy -My true OTP. They are the halves that make each other whole. Both are greatcharacters on their own but together they make each other better. Levy isanalytical and shy with the intellect and work ethic beyond anyone else. Gajeelknows how to get the job done; he is fiercely protective and very in touch withhis emotions. He doesn’t care what others think of his attitude, and to him actionsmean more than words. Both could be classified as people who like to work aloneyet they both have small teams (Shadow gear and pantherlily / dragonslayers).Levy is the planning to Gajeel’s punch and Gajeel is the confidence behind Levy’swords. I love their dynamic so much. They have gone through pain, recovery, trust, friendship, and love. There is so much to explore with both of theircharacters and life in general. The flirty banter is strong with these two. They fall into the “world melts away” relationship. They sometimes don’trealize how obviously in love they are because neither is good at hidingemotions, and both are direct, passionate people with their feelings. Levy andGajeel push each other just enough to foster growth without crossing the lineof fighting all the time. In a word they are balanced. I can’t see them withothers because they make for the most supportive, balanced pair long term.
Nalu - Whata dynamic and friendship! These two have a great connection and trust in eachother. They are playful but caring with corny innuendos sprinkled in. They makesense. They have moved from friends to partners who have saved each othersasses enough times for them to think…why do I run headfirst into danger foryou. I find them interesting since they have a different dynamic than my otherdragonslayer/bookworm duo. There are threads of similarity but they have adifferent core bond. They are a couple that shows that love can grow andchange, relationships develop at different speeds and love doesn’t have to be asudden burst where you just know.
Jerza -Being a leader is a lonely job. These two are really interesting to me. Theyare the stoic captains that put everyone before themselves. Erza cares deeplyabout her guild and puts the weight of everyone’s happiness above her own. Shemade what she believes to be a selfish decision long ago that defined her andhas been trying to make up for it since. Jellal is similar. He made terriblechoices he is unwilling to forgive. Neither believes they deserve the love andaffection they desire. There is a constant inner turmoil is fun to play with.Head vs heart. I believe these two are each others’ home. No one understandsthe pressure they feel like the other can. When they can be together the wallscome down and both can enjoy the simple things they normally give up. Together, neither has to be the person people will turn to for help or guidance, they canjust be themselves. Let your hair down Erza, you deserve love andrelaxation.
Bixanna -Mischief making matchmakers! I love these two. They both are the cutewisecrackers of their respective groups. Bickslow has this gruff edge, keepcalm and kick ass side, and totally dorky jokes. He’s not afraid to get sillyand gives zero fucks. Lisanna is the total support he needs to be himself.Wanna be silly and go play pranks? Lis can keep up. Wanna go fight monsters?Lis can keep up and look cute doing it. Wanna chill on the couch and thinkabout how strong of a bond your team has? Lis does too. They work well in thesense of balance too. Lisanna tends to be the person that is quietly friendswith everyone but is close with a select few. Bickslow brings her out of hershell. She’s had a strange distance since returning to the guild and primarilyhangs with fam…I think that those years people thought she was dead made herreturn bittersweet. They tried to move on as best they could and she got leftbehind. When she gets back it’s hard to find her place. Her old dynamics havechanged…the bond is still there but things aren’t the same. Theirrelationship isn’t built in the past or defined by her return. They are peoplewho found each other unexpectedly…one of those relationships that suddenlyhappened when neither was looking for it. I think I’d categorize them ashope and future. Both have had dark times that may haunt them occasionally, butthey give each other a clean slate and zero judgment.
Merelow -My official crack babies. I was randomly thinking one day and this ship fellinto my lap! Bickslow: badass jokester. Meredy: badass bubblegum girl. Put emtogether and magic. These two are ready to try anything and everything. Theybring out the adventurous spontaneity in each other. Both have been on thewrong side of the fight and have moved forward. They have a core team thatmeans the world to them and are supremely loyal to each other. These two aresimilar to the bixanna dynamic with more of a wanderer side thrown in. They’vehad their breakdowns and have forgiven themselves and grown. They both give somuch love and cheer to their friends. I also love how compatible their magicis. Soul control and soul link. These two aren’t afraid to fight and cry andlove and sing. Neither tries to hide anything from the other. They are socomfortable together and they truly understand each other. They make everyeffort so that the other will smile, and I just love them.
Sildarts -OK. so. @gsut and @sanguine-fairy got me on this ship. Grumpy kickass dudes withgrumpy kids. They’ve been through many hardships in life and have loved andcried and have so much more life behind them than most of my other ships. They havea deeper connection by their love for their kids and their strain to have alife of their own. These two experienced individuals kinda trip over themselveslike teens as they explore a new side of themselves in this relationship. Noone knows how it’s supposed to go. Silver has many of the qualities I admire in Gray and kindareigns in Gildarts’ craziness. Gildarts gives him balance. He throws stoicSilver and all caution to the wind and make them both laugh and fill the piecesof their hearts that have been empty. Also these men know how to brood and beangry and glum…they have held in their emotions so much that both understandthe subtle cues when the other is upset…though it doesn’t always stop somepretty intense fights. They are passionate guys that hold each other up whenlife tries to punch them in the gut.
Lyredy - Two sweet, sensitive cuties. These two are harmony. Lyon is hella romantic and is always doing things both large and smallto show how much he cares for her. Meredy can see through the bravado he putson to the core person he is. She helps Lyon not to take himself too seriouslyand he always makes her laugh and smile. Meredy has insecurities about her pastand Lyon understands this himself. He will be as over the top as her can or asdown to earth as he needs to make her feel better. Both talk big about love butfind themselves remarkably shy when it actually happens. They are a mix ofadventure and shyness and pull each other along to find new things to love. They are a softer romance and I adore them.
Gruvia - Pushing through barriers these two truly stumbledinto romance. She could see his walls from the start and has felt the pain ofbuilding them herself, but Gray showed her such kindness that she truly felt achange. Gray and Juvia are elements that shape each other, pushing each otherto grow without necessarily trying. They became friends who feel a strong senseof responsibility to each other. Time turned friendship to love and I enjoy theway they play with the intensity of their romance. At times they are soft andsweet and others they are hot and heavy. She gives him a place to be candidwith his emotions and he reigns in her dramatic side. At their cores they carefor each other deeply and rely on their mutual support more than they realize. They will always drift back to each other, even when things tough.
Miraxus/Laxana/Canajane/Fraxus - idk why but I love them ALL. Miraxus is so cute andfun. They both have a calm and wild side. They are the heads of theirrespective groups and take things very seriously. When they’re together theycan let their hair down. Laxus sees through the smile she always wears down tothe fragile person she can be. Laxus is so stoic and Mira can always tell whathe’s thinking. They are more reserved as a couple and just enjoy each other’scompany. Laxana is fun and flirty. They rile each other up and don’t let thefun stop. They can laugh at anything and take great fun in jokes and quips witheach other. Always exploring and having an adventure with these two! Canajane.Talk about flirty cuteness and innuendos. They truly care about each other andCana is always pushing Mira to try new things. Mira keeps Cana grounded andwill always support and carry her. Fraxus. Mutual love and support. They aren’tfond of pda but the love can always be seen in their eyes. These two trulyhave each other’s back and always understand what each other needs.
Anyone else…I enjoy mymultishipping (aside from gajevy) so if there’s another couple that I canreally understand I’ll probably enjoy them: Chendy, LaLu, GrayLu, Alzack/Bisca,Stinerva, Minerza, Freed/Rufus, ships with Juvia, peeps from Mermaid Heel, etc.The only problem I have is if I can’t understand the relationshipdynamic…then things just fizzle in my mind.
Hahahaha now onto BNHA! OK I’mkinda tired from FT so I’ll keep these explanations less elaborate
BNHA:
Todomomo - insecure strong kids that lift each other up andbelieve in each other. Momo is such an interesting character and I love her.
Kacchako - fight like a girl. He respects her and she respectshim. They push each other to be better and I just love a cinnamon roll with agrumpy boy
Iihatsu - who better for a machine inventing girl than the guywith the engine built right in? she’s not afraid of anything and helps iida letloose. He’s always there to try her new inventions and she always makes himsmile.
Fuyusei, Bakumomo, Bakushima - love them all and they totally make sense
KiriMina, Jiro/Kaminari - such cute kids
Momo/Iida, Ochako/Iida,Ochako/Deku, Hakagure/Ojiro - cute potential and they have moments that make me smile

FT - A Moment with You pt10
The waterfall was beautiful.. and it looked so familiar.. he couldn't put a finger on it. He took his communication lacrima out of his backpack. Lily was on his shoulder.
The lacrima lit up.
"I think I found her. West of Crocus.. there is a waterfall." He said. A boom of lightning was heard and the lacrima turned off. He put the lacrima back in his backpack. Without a moment to lose, he ran in towards the pool and dove in.
"Draco… is dead?" Natsu said with unbelief. "Yes.. but…" The four looked at Metallicana with wide eyes. The dragon let out his tongue and gave a wide toothy grin. "I have.. what you seek…"
"Please let us have it!" Gray begged. "Only if you do a favor for me…" Metallicana crawled closer to them.. "Dad stop playing around.. I need it where is it!" Gajeel yelled as he knelt. "Abnoxious brat! I want a trade.. I can't just give Draco's lacrima for free! Even for you my idiot of a son." Metallicana growled. "What is the favor?" Laxus said sternly.
Metallicana grinned.. "Destroy these cursed restraints on me.. and I'll give it to you right now." "What restraints?" Laxus said with a serious frowning face.
The dragon turned his head to show a lightning chain around his neck.
"What.. is that?" a voice said behind them.
The four were startled.. the voice.. they turned around to see a wet wide-eyed younger Gajeel with a mouth gaping pantherlily standing next to him.
"Dad…. What…. IS THAT AROUND YOUR NECK!" Gajeel yelled as he ran up towards them. Laxus turned his body protectively to shield the Lucy from the younger Gajeel. Gray went and stood in front of Laxus. The younger gajeel glared at Laxus and Gray.. and looked at Lucy's legs that were the only part of her body that was visible. He looked back up at Metallicana.. Lily flew over in front of Gray and Laxus.. "Lucy…?" he said softly.. no answer.
"So… you've finally found me… took you long enough you ungrateful brat." Metallicana seethed. "WHAT?! YOU LEFT ME! I SEARCHED FOR YOU EVERWHERE! WTH ARE YOU HIDING IN A STUPID HOLE AND WITH THAT THING AROUND YOUR NECK!" "YOU DARE RAISE YOUR VOICE AT ME" Metallicana roared back at Gajeel.. He brought his head down towards the younger Gajeel and the younger ran up and headbutted the dragon back..
"YEA! AND WHAT YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT!?"
"You were really stupid when you were younger." Natsu said sweatdropping. "At least I wasn't as stupid as you." "What did you say ironhead?" Natsu seethed. "You heard me.. or are you having trouble understanding something so simple as that?" Gajeel smirked back. "HEY SHUT UP!" the younger Gajeel yelled back at the older Gajeel and Natsu. He glared at the two. Gajeel and Natsu stood up.. and glared back..
"You're the one who interrupted us.. I suggest you shut up before I smash your face." Natsu said in a low voice. "I know you're glad to find dad again… but now is not the time.. and Natsu.. don't you fureikn dare.. " Gajeel said in a deep dangerous voice.
"Your restraint… it's made by Zeref's demons.. yes?" Laxus said interrupting. "Ah…. We've got a smart one here.." Metallicana said "If I remove it… you'll hand the lacrima over?" Laxus said "Yes…." The dragon's eyes were gleaming.
Laxus gave Lucy over to Gray.. Lily could see Lucy now and he gasped. Gajeel looked over at Lily… his eyes widened as well after seeing Lucy. She was in her undergarments.. and was having trouble breathing normally.. her face had a slight frown from her discomfort..
"She's… getting worse.." Gray said softly.. to no person specifically. He could feel her body temperature increasing against his own cold skin. He couldn’t ignore the small twitching frown of pain etched onto her face either. Laxus walked up past the two Gajeels and Natsu.. he walked up towards Metallicana's neck… he took a hold of the chain.. it began to emit a powerful electrical current and Metallicana roared.. Gray and Lily cringed.. while the other dragon slayers remained still. Quickly biting the chain… he began sucking the magic… the current became weaker.. and weaker… and when the light from the chain became dull, Laxus pulled the chain apart and the entire restraints on Metallicana shattered.
"YEEEEESSSSS! AT LASTT!" Metallicana roared.. he stretched his neck and claws. Laxus walked back away from the dragon to not get hit. Metallicana grinned. He spread his left wing up and a bright small light was seen from behind of the scales. The older Gajeel's eyes widened. Walking up to the light he gently lifted up his father's scale. Underneath… was a beautiful crystal sphere. Inside the sphere, he could see thousands of slowly rotating stars. He gently took the lacrima and held it in his hand. It was so small... but he could feel the immense concentrated power emitting from it..
Turning around.. he faced a wide-eyed Natsu.. Laxus... Lily.. Gray.. and his younger self. Walking slowly over to Gray… he looked at Lucy.. she was sweating slightly now.. and still frowning. Slowly he brought his hand up to her cheek and almost retracted his hand at how hot it was. “She’s burning up”.
"She shouldn't have used her magic… it worse this time.." Gray said softly. "What.. do you mean worse?" Lily asked worried. "You see… every time she uses her magic.. her body tries to compensate the magic lost by trying to make more.. but her body is already losing its capacity to make magic… causing more strain on her body… meaning.."
"She's killing herself faster…" the older Gajeel explained. "What!?" Lily said in a whisper..
Gajeel put his hand on Lucy's arm.. and shook. "Why isn't she waking up…" Gajeel said alarmed. He shook again a little harder. “Come one bunny girl... Don’t do this to us... wake up!” Natsu scrunched his fists tightly beside him.
“I can’t...” Everyone turned to look at him. “I can’t watch her die again”
“What do you mean die again? What happened!?” Lily exclaimed in shock. The younger Gajeel however kept his eyes fixed on his older self, one hand on the lacrima, the other on Lucy’s shoulder, worry carved onto his face.
BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!
Everyone looked towards the direction of the waterfall…
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
"What's going on out there?" Gray said worried. "Did you tell anyone that we were here?!" Natsu said walking up to Gajeel and grabbing his shirt in a bunch in his fist. "Get you're hands OFF OF ME.." Gajeel seethed and tried to pry of Natu's hands.. but found it extremely hard.. Natsu's older face.. and glare.. his strength… was surprising.. startling… scary… "DID YOU TELL ANYONE?!" the older Gajeel yelled at the younger. The younger was now lost for words.. and felt like something was going terribly wrong. "I… told Laxus.." "How! How did you tell me!?" Laxus was panicking now too. He walked up to the younger full of anger. "The communication lacrima…" Gajeel said.
And at that moment.. the communication lacrima in Gajeel's backpack lit up..
"Gajeel!.. Gajeel!" a familiar voice was heard. Natsu let go of Gajeel and the latter quickly ruffled through the backpack for the lacrima..
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
"They… smell.. of darkness…." Metallicana growled… "There are a few of them out there…"
Gajeel finally found the lacrima and took it out.. his eyes widened when he saw a scared looking Levy… "Shrimp?! What's going on?" "GAJEEL FAIRY TAIL IS UNDER ATTACK!"
Everyone froze…
"WE'RE BEING ATTACKED.. BY AAHHH!" A table flew by her head. "WHO ARE WE BEING ATTACKED BY?" Gajeel asked. Explosions were heard through the lacrima.. screaming.
Levy looked at Gajeel…"Raven Tail"
Laxus looked like he was going to murder spree. The rage emitting from his body through high magical pressure… It crushed the communication lacrima instantly, and the younger Gajeel gaped at Laxus' magical pressure. The lightning mage walked towards the loud explosions heard at the other side of the tunnel.. but Natsu stopped him by walking in front of him.
"She needs you here…" Natsu said gritting his teeth. Laxus glared down at him.. "Move…" "You're the only one who knows how it feels.. you need to be here for her." he said with his bangs covering his eyes.. "as much as it pains me to say this.. but Lucy needs you more right now.. than anyone else." Laxus relaxed and watched amazed at Natsu. Natsu turned around.. "Cmon Gajeel.. Gray.. Let's give them a FairyTail welcome… Fairy Four style…"
Gray went over to Laxus and gave him Lucy… "Try not to leave a scar.."
"Wait… wait…" Laxus said trying to stop them. Gajeel walked up to Laxus, who took a step away.
"No... NO!" Laxus said. "Laxus…" Lucy whimpered… "Lucy… " he said..
Laxus just stared at Lucy in horror.. this.. was not supposed to happen.. Gajeel walked up to Laxus and forced the lacrima in his hand.
Gajeel turned around and walked away..
"No please…. don't make me do this.." Laxus said looking back and forth from Lucy and the other men.. "It had to be you.. only you can do this for her.." Gray said guiltily.. looking away.. "You know what it feels like…" Natsu said.. "THAT'S EXACTLY WHY I CAN'T AND WON'T DO IT!" Laxus yelled at them. "YOU DON’T HAVE A CHOICE! YOU WILL DO IT! OR SHE WILL DIE!" the older Gajeel yelled at Laxus. “We all hate this.... We all came back to save her. Nobody should have to go through what we went through. That’s why we all agreed to get the lacrima in the first place. But you’re the only dragon slayer with a lacrima so it has to be you okay? It has to be if you do’t want to stand next to her grave again.”
BOOOOM!
Natsu, Gray, Gajeel turned to the sound. “It’s time to go.” Gray called.
Gajeel lowered his eyes to lucy and pushed back a few strands of hair sticking to her forehead. “Look after her okay?” He smiled before running out of the tunnel to fight. Gray followed him a little before turning to look at Natsu.
“Natsu....” Natsu walked foward and pressed a kiss to her forehead whilst ignoring the tenseness of Laxus.
“You can’t leave me okay? Not for a third time. Please...” He raised his eyes to look at laxus, a tear rolling down his cheek. After a few moments, he turned and ran towards the other end of the tunnel... leaving a horrified Laxus with Lucy, lacrima in his hand.. Metallicana watching silently behind them all..Because Natsu had been the source of light.. it was became darker and darker as Natsu ran away.
The younger Gajeel standing in shock… lily as well.. watching Laxus.. watching Lucy… Laxus was letting some sparks loose to light the tunnel. Laxus sank to his knees.. "Lucy…" his eyes watered.. tears dropped onto her face..
"I'm sorry… I'm sorry…."
.
.
.
He took a deep breath... and kissed her forehead, followed by her eyes and then her cheek, before finally resting his own on her lips. Gajeel narrowed his eyes at the scene.. it didn't go by unnoticed by the silent dragon watching it all... the dragon's eyes narrowed and glinted from Laxus' sparks.
"Gajeel… will you make me a knife?" Laxus said in a whisper.
Gajeel walked over towards Laxus… and knelt in front of him. He morphed his hand into a sharp knife… Lily flew over to them and watched wide-eyed…
"Will…. She live if she has the lacrima?" Lily asked.
Gajeel brought the knife to her stomach.. he gulped and cringed… he remembered the time he beat her up…
Laxus remained silent…
"Laxus?" Lily asked softly..
"She has to live." Laxus said closing his eyes…”She just has to.” He pressed Gajeel's arm into Lucy's stomach.
-
Boom! Booom! A flash of lightning.
He looked around.. his eyes widened at the scene.. there were Raven Tail mages… and a halfnaked Natsu… Gray.. Gajeel… fighting them off. He was amazed at how different they looked… they looked older.. stronger.. taller.. and they looked as if they were angry enough to kill.. their magical pressure was extraordinary. He wondered if he could even beat them with his current level. The older three mages saw Laxus arrive.. but they didn't look over at him. They were too pissed off at the Raven Tail mages in front of them.. the ones that dared to attack their guild.. the ones that dared to take Lucy away from them..
"JUST HAND OVER THE GIRL AND LACRIMA!" one of the raven tail mages yelled as he attacked Gray. Gray let out his hand and caught the mages hand, causing the man's eyes to widen. Gray smirked…then death glared at the man… he let loose a surge of magic through his hand.
“Over my dead body.” Gray sad quietly, though Laxus heard it as loud as ever.
"AAAAAHHHHHHHH!" the man screamed.. his arm froze.. and the entire half of his body was covered in ice.
Natsu bashed the mages faces with his fire-lit fists.. Gajeel punched them with his iron fists.. both were swift and fast. Laxus stared in shock at the fight.. his eyes roamed between Gray.. Natsu.. Gajeel.. then to the waterfall behind them.. and despite the fight ensuing in front of him.. he felt it.. he felt a spark of his own magic coming from behind the waterfall. Then it clicked. He ran to the pool and dove in.. and to his intuition.. he saw a black tunnel.. he swam inside.
"Cmon! Come back!" Gajeel yelled at Lucy.. he was pumping her chest… he paused. He dipped down and took her lips. He blew in air.. and released. He looked towards the dull eyed Laxus.. he was trembling…
"HEY! FOCUS!" Gajeel snapped at Laxus.. Laxus came back to reality.. he put his bloody hand over her heart and gave her a shock. Her body jerked. Again Gajeel took over Lucy's chest with his own bloody hands and began pumping.
"Cmon.. you're stronger than this.. come back.. BREATHE LUCY BREATHE!"
Laxus stared at his hands… his left hand drenched in her blood.. all the way past his wrist.. he had to reach the area between her lungs... the lacrima was safely placed there..
He heard running.. and smelled the approaching figure.. his eyes widened…
"No…"
Lily looked over towards the approaching figure.. his body was sparking with lightning.. bringing in much needed light into the cave. The figure froze a few feet from them. Horror…
"What…." The younger Laxus saw himself.. hands bloody.. with Lucy's blood.. it was such a strong smell... and Lucy herself.. her stomach bloody.. and stapled together.. Gajeel pumping at her chest.. not for one second taking his eyes away from her.. Lily watching him stare at them.. with tears running down his face.. and behind them all… was Metallicana with his dragon eyes staring him down.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!" Laxus stepped back and fell.. he tried to crawl back from the nightmare he had found himself in.. "WHAT… HAVE I DONE!"
The horror he found himself in.. made him think back to the time when he had found Lucy back in Magnolia. "you should be the one running from me.." He knew Lucy had meant something behind it.. but how was he to know that it would lead to this...
"I… had no choice…." The older Laxus said… "I… had to put it in her.. IT WAS THE ONLY WAY!"
"HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO US! HOW!? HOW ARE WE ANY BETTER… BETTER THAN HIM! AND ONLY WAY?! SHE'LL DIE BECAUSE OF YOU… BECAUSE OF ME!" the younger Laxus yelled in despair… tears running down his face.. the older crying as well.. his bloody fists clenched.
"What are you talking about… the future me… said you'll be able to save her if you put it in her.. why… is Laxus saying she'll die?!" Gajeel said as he pumped away. The older Laxus put his hand over Lucy's chest and Gajeel stopped pumping. He gave another shock and her body jerked. Gajeel resumed his pumping. "ANSWER ME!" Gajeel roared.
"Just because you put the lacrima in her.. doesn't mean her body will accept it." the dragon spoke. Gajeel froze… "What?" he said in disbelief. "KEEP PUMPING GAJEEL!" Lily said in panic. Gajeel resumed his pumping.. and kissed Lucy once again to breathe air into her lungs. The younger Laxus watched Gajeel.. his emotions haywire.. his worst nightmare..
"If that girl wakes up.. she'll experience pain like never before.. this is only the beginning of what she has to overcome." Metallicana said grimly.
"Her body.. will feel like it is being ripped to shreds.." the younger Laxus spoke.. his head lowered, hiding his eyes.. "She'll feel like her insides are burning inside out.. her eyes won't see.. her ears will ring and feel like bursting from the tiniest of sounds… "
Gajeel was frowning in horror.. Lucy was still unresponsive.. her eyes closed.. bloody handprints on her face and in her beautiful blonde hair..
"She will survive.." the older Laxus said clenching his jaw.
The younger looked towards the older.. the older back at the younger now.
"And you will do whatever it takes so that she does..." the older Laxus spoke in a commanding voice. "You don't want to live in a future where she doesn't exist.." he said softly..
He put his hand over Lucy's chest once more.. He looked towards her face. Gajeel stopped pumping and removed his.
"No more playing around princess.. it's time for you to get up… Wake up Lucy!" he yelled at her face and gave her a shock.
GASPP!
Lucy's chest rose and her eyes shuttered open..
"Lucy!" Lily shouted.
Gajeel watched her shocked and relieved..
The older Laxus smiled warmly, tears falling down his face... "I knew you'd come back.."
Lucy was gasping and clenching her fists.. she shut her eyes and put her head as far back as she could.. tears ran down the side of her face.. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Metallicana roared at the loud screaming.. and drew back further into the tunnel.. his tail covering his head to block his ears. Shivers went down their spine.. the younger Laxus ran over next to the older.. the older put Lucy's clenched hand in the youngers.. Lucy gripped on and Laxus back. Gajeel grabbed Lucy's other hand and she gripped onto Gajeel's.
"AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Lucy continued to scream and sob. Her body was trembling so hard. The younger Laxus looked up towards the older.. the older smiled gently towards the younger.
"Give her a chance.. and she'll give you one too…" the older said softly. "she's got Natsu and Gray beside her... And sooner or later, gajeel will be coming after her too...” The younger gajeel’s head snapped up with wide eyes in disbelief. ”But I've given you something no one else can take from us." The older said… and all of a sudden.. his body began to light up.. light particles began to fly into the air from his body.
"What.. do you mean?" the younger said. Gajeel clenched his fists.. somehow… what the older Laxus had said really dug into him in a bad way. The older laxus put his hand to lucy’s cheek and stroked it with his thumb. Te younger could only watch and widen his eyes at the loving gesture.
Running footsteps were heard… Gajeel looked over and found his older self.. the older Gajeel's body was lit up as well.
"Tch… And so have I" the older Gajeel walking over and sitting next to the younger.
"Gajeel…." The older glared. "Where's Natsu and Gray?"
"What.. am I their babysitter? Salamander is dealing with himself… Stripper is somewhere.. oiy!" Gajeel said to his younger self. "You better not give up either. Lucy is a lot stronger than you think. And just admit that you do like her. Get over it and do something about it. You better not just sit there and let lightning stick, flametard, and stripper get her."
"What?!" the younger Gajeel looked at his older self like he was insane.
Lily just gaped at the older Gajeel. Both Laxus' were wide-eyed and frowning..
"GAJEEL!" the older Laxus' entire body lit up and he vanished.
"Gihi…" the older Gajeel looked down at Lucy.. who had stopped screaming now and was just cringing.. and gasping… he brought his face down and kissed her forehead.
"Bye Lucy… you'll always be my bunnygirl." His body lit up and he vanished as well.
Gajeel, Laxus, and Lily were frozen.. Lily looked between Gajeel and Laxus.. their faces showing utter shock that shifted to confusion.. their eyes met.. and after a painstaking awkward silence… Lily saw a slight glint in both their eyes..
Meanwhile.. Lucy was having the battle for her life. Her gasping.. her whimpering.. her screaming.. her sobbing.. was the only noise heard throughout the cave. And Metallicana was watching her intently.
Natsu's body was beginning to light up.. he looked at his hands and saw the light particles rise into the air.
Rustle rustle rustle..
He looked towards the direction of the sound and smiled… bangs covering his eyes.. And as he expected.. someone jumped out through the trees like a fireball and landed right in front of him.
The fire subsided.. and who remained.. was his younger self.
"Where's Luce.." the younger said. "She's inside.." "Why… didn't you tell me? Why didn't she tell me? Why!" the younger said clenching his fists.
"I couldn't… Time paradox or something like that… and for Luce… It wasn't because she didn't trust you.. it's because she loved you." The older said brushing his fingers through his pink hair.
The younger Natsu's eyes widened.
"Yea.. Luce loves us.. actually.. she's loved us for a while.. but.. I think she's given up on us." The older said in a soft voice..
The younger looked up at the older with a frown.. his eyes wide with shock. Love?!
"We were just.. too busy to notice…" "We… I…" Natsu was lost for words.
The younger Natsu's eyes widened..
"Do you love Lucy? Or do you love Lisanna?"
The younger Natsu flinched..
"I was engaged to Lisanna.. we could have had a wonderful family together.. I'm sure she would have been a great mother.. she did help us raise Happy and all.. but I didn't realize that Luce was sick… until it was too late.."
The younger Natsu gulped.. he dreaded what he was about to hear..
"I saw Lucy die a second and final time in front of me."
The younger Natsu stared at the ground in shock.. he was engaged to Lisanna in the future? Well that… I guess he was fulfilling his promise.. but Lucy… he looked back up at the older Natsu and was shocked to find himself crying..
"I.. buried her with my own hands… and Igneel.. you know she was the one who led me to him.. I didn't even know it was her who planted the clues until after she died.." Natsu's tears were falling down his chin. The younger Natsu was crying now too.
"She's our Luce... And I let her slip through my fingers." the older Natsu said smiling gently.. “But You need to change that. If you want her to stay with her forever... You have to make it happen... before Gajeel, Laxus and Gray do...” His body lit up brighter and he vanished.
Natsu stood frozen for a few minutes.. trying to access all the information he had gotten from his future self.. all this time.. all that time he had spent with her.. and he had not seen… suddenly he dashed into the pool and swam behind the waterfall to see if there was an opening.. nothing.. he dove in the water and found the tunnel.. he swam inside.
-
In a different portion of the forest…
Gray was sitting up against a tree.. he had calculated that his younger self would arrive soon.. and hopefully as soon as possible.. he was watching the light particles rise from his arms…
Rustle Rustle..
"HURRY JUVIA!" Gray yelled. "YES GRAY-SAMA!" Juvia yelled.
The two ran through the trees and were shocked to find another Gray.
"Yo~" the older Gray said. "TWO GRAY-SAMAS!" Juvia said with hearts in her eyes.. and she fainted. "Ha… I remember those days.." the older Gray said rubbing his head. "Where is Lucy?" Gray said seriously.
"She's at the waterfall straight from here. She has the lacrima now.. I'm assuming Laxus already put it in her." the older Gray said getting up. "I don't have a lot of time so I'll make it short"
The younger Gray watched himself carefully.. it was good to see himself look more mature and taller.
"Lucy is fair game." "What?" the younger Gray said with wide-eyes.
"She isn't Natsu's and from what I know so far.. at least in this version of time.. her feelings for Natsu are not as strong now.. all this time.. we were staying away from her because we thought she was Natsu's.. but he gets engaged to Lisanna anways.. "
"WHAT?!" the younger Gray was shocked.
"Just let me talk. I'm only telling you this because I've given us a chance. In this version of time.. everything has been changed.. not only do you have Natsu to worry about.. but you have Gajeel and Laxus.. I've seen the way my Gajeel and Laxus are with her.. and I know.. they have feelings for her. Meaning, so do yours."
The younger Gray was completely shocked. "WHAT?! No way.. Gajeel and Laxus haven't even given her a glance."
"Either way… if you believe me or not.. just keep it in mind.. and Lucy isn't as immune to us as we thought.. I mean.. I did take her on her first date. The next move is yours.." The older Gray said winking at the younger. "Good luck" and with a bright flash.. he disappeared.
The younger Gray.. stood in utter shock… Lucy…. He had taken her on her first date?! WHAT?!
He really needed to find her now…. Was she okay?.. he was about to run off when he realized the unconscious Juvia was on the ground.. He looked towards Lucy's direction.. and back at Juvia…
"Juvia.. Lucy…" Gray thought to himself.. he picked up Juvia and began to ran towards Lucy…
These girls were going to kill him.
-
Everything hurt.. She was cold and hot at the same time.. she couldn't hear herself screaming.. she couldn't feel the large hands gripping onto hers. She tried to open her eyes to see. She saw Gajeel and Laxus stare at each other, Metallicana above her. The dragon was looking at something ahead of him..
"Luce…!" she heard before her vision turned pitch black.
-
"Call them.." he commanded Mira. She shook her head in anger.. tears falling down her face.. she was in her satan soul mode. But despite all that power.. she couldn't do anything.. no one could.. Elfman reverted back to his normal self.. Wendy was panting and trembling with Carla.. Happy stood in front of them fists clenched and gritting his teeth. Cana stood horrified.. Everyone else was either captured and bound.. or knocked out all over Magnolia. "Or else… she dies." He said smiling in victory while patting Asuka's head gently.
"Momma… Pappa…" Asuka cried.. her body was covered in his paper dolls.
"ASUKA!" Azlack and Bisca cried out.. they were chained together.. and in the hands of Raven Tail members. Two of the members punched Azlack and Bisca to silence them.
"STOP PLEASE!" Levy cried out towards them. She was bound and lying on the floor now. "LET THEM GO!" Lisanna cried out as she was bound as well.
"IIIIVAANNNNNNNN!" Master Makarov yelled. Makarov was chained as well. Obra stood right by him snickering.. using his magic to cancel and nullify any magic Master Makarov tried.
"All I ask for is one small thing. I just want that celestial mage.. and we'll be on our way. Out of your hair.. It's that simple." Master Ivan said with a hand out smiling with his eyebrows raised. Wendy's eyes widened as she smelled something near..
BBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM!
Lightning was heard outside the guild. Master Ivan smiled widely and turned around. He started laughing..
"AHAHA! SO… HE'S FINALLY DECIDED TO ARRIVE!"
The guild doors shattered and in zapped in Laxus. He flew towards Ivan and punched him into the bar. Obra got ready and put a knife up against Master Makarov's neck.
"LAXUS! STOP!" Mira cried
Laxus had crouched a little to jump at Master Ivan when he stopped to Mira's cry. Natsu and Gray were standing next to him. In, Natsu's arms.. was Lucy…. Her head and limbs dangling.. blood dripping from her stomach. Her hair was waving with the wind. Mira covered her mouth with her hands, tears streamed down harder. Everone that was awake, as well as the RavenTail members looked towards the lifeless Lucy in Natsu's arms.
"Laxus-nii…..Gray-nii…. Natshu-ni…." a small scared timid voice called out.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" Master Ivan looked at his son. He spread out his arms. "Welcome back Laxus…"
Laxus death glared his father.. and he shifted it towards the owner of the small voice. His eyes met Asuka's… she looked so fragile and terrified… covered in his father's paper puppets..
"I wouldn't move another inch if I were you." Master Ivan said laughing. "Well Laxus… here's the deal.. I'll give you back this little girl.. for that girl you have there next to you" Master Ivan pointed at Lucy. Laxus clenched his fists and sparks began to fly from it. Gray got battle stance ready. Natsu held on tighter to Lucy and death glared at Ivan. "Though I am surprised Laxus… it is as my spies said.. you're the one who put the lacrima in her." Master Ivan said smirking and having a dark glare in his eyes.
Master Makarov and everyone froze and laxus could only grit his teeth harder as he remembered the earth shattering screams that Lucy had released earlier.
"I guess… the saying is really true in our case. Like father like son AHAHAHAHA! Now.. be a good boy.. and hand her over" he grinned maniacally.
The RavenTail members snickered at Laxus.. while all of FairyTail remained deathly silent.. Master Makarov was lost for words.. his eyes wide with shock and concern.. for his children.. for his family.. for Laxus….
Laxus didn't take his eyes off of Asuka.. "Asuka…." He said "Laxus-nii…. I'm scared…" Asuka said crying. "Don't you worry.. I'll get you safe and sound.. just close your eyes.. cover your ears.. and count to 10. Can you do that for me? Just pretend we're playing hide and seek." Laxus said calmly.
"O..okay.." She closed her eyes. She slowly brought her hands up to her ears and covered them.
Laxus's eyes narrowed.. glared at his father. Ivan still smiled evily at Laxus…
"Come.. Laxus.. your blood and my blood are one alike… you cannot run from the ties of blood.. IT RUNS IN YOUR VEINS! NOW OBEY ME AND GIVE ME LUCY HEARTFILIA! And I will forgive your insolence and all your failures… I will accept you.. as my son" he extended his arms out towards Laxus.
"1" Asuka said. Obra was swallowed into a dark shadow.
"2" Master Ivan looked over at Master Makarov's direction and found him unguarded by Obra anymore. Master Makarov broke out of his chains and began to go into Titan mode… enraged with overwhelming fury. He began stomping on the Raven Tail members attacked the ones near him.
"3" Gray and Laxus began punching the lights out of the Raven Tail members. Mira joined into the fight.. so did Wendy.. and anyone else who could fight.
"4" Juvia ran from the back of the guild and went into battle stance. "WATER LOCK!" to Kurohebi standing next to Lisanna and Levy. And the instant she put the water lock up, Gray lunged over and punched the ball of water. It froze over and Kurohebi froze inside.
"5" Nallpudding was about to attack Natsu and Lucy standing in the doorway when a shadow swished in front of him. Up from it came a dark shadowy Gajeel.. glaring with red eyes… and with a swift punch, Gajeel knocked him out at the other end of the guild.
"6" Master Ivan having enough of their stubbornness… put his hand out and was looking towards Asuka. His eyes widened when he saw that Romeo was crouching next to Asuka.. trying to burn his puppets off of her. He clenched his fists..
"7" The paper puppets began to glow.. and Romeo's eyes widened.. he was too late..
"8" Laxus lightning flashed towards Master Ivan and smashed his lightning fist into Ivan's face. Ivan was crushed into the ground and the ground itself cracked and a crater was formed. Master Ivan was knocked out cold.
"9" Asuka's whole body began to glow brighter and brighter.. "ASSSSUUKKKKAAAA!" Azlack and Bisca yelled tears streaming down their faces. Romeo frantically tried tearing the paper puppets from her body.. finding it impossible.. he hugged her to his chest.. and closed his eyes shut.
All the FairyTail members looked towards Asuka.. in total despair.
BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Her parents screamed. "AASSUKKKAA!" Master Makarov cried out..
It was dusty and smoky from the explosion…. It was quiet now..
"No…." Bisca said softly.. "NOOOOOOO!" She screamed. Azlack slumped.. his eyes dull… tears unending…
Wendy… collapsed onto her knees… Asuka… Romeo.. was he really gone?... No.. NO.
In the doorway to the guild… stood Natsu staring wide-eyed at Lucy.. she was panting and trembling.. her right arm stretched out.. in her hand.. was a key… pointed towards the spot Asuka and Romeo were at… her eyes were struggling to stay open..
.
.
.
.
.
"10 she says" a voice was heard from above.
Everyone's wide-eyed gazes shot upwards.. even Natsu's.. Lucy's eyes were fluttering.. Up against the ceiling.. was Horologium.
"HOROLOGIUM!" Wendy and Carla said out loud in surprise.
Horologium let go of the ceiling and dropped down onto ground floor. He landed and bowed. Inside the glass door, was Asuka opening her eyes and letting go of her ears. Romeo was inside hugging her to his chest and closing his eyes shut. He let one eye open.. and was surprised to find himself inside a box. He opened both his eyes and looked around confused.
Azlack and Bisca's faces melted and wide smiles grew.. they started laughing and crying in relief. They could see their little Asuka talking nonstop inside horologium. She was standing up inside and had her hands pressed up against the glass.. she was looking straight at her parents.
"This is so cool. Where am I. This is such a great hiding spot. Oh—Romeo-nii— How did you get in here— Jiijii— Everyone—Look at me— This is soo fun— Laxus-nii—Can we play this again– she says excitedly" Horologium said in his monotone voice.
Everyone laughed and cried in relief.. they looked towards Lucy.. the owner of Horologium's key.. and saw her hand falter.. the grip in her hand loosened.. and the key fell out and dropped to the ground.
"Lucy-sama…" Horologium said suddenly in a shocked voice.… and with a flash he disappeared. Asuka and Romeo were dropped onto the ground and looked around confused.
"Awww.. where did the funny box go?" Asuka said looking around. Romeo let go of Asuka and stood up.. his eyes never left Natsu and Lucy.
"LUSHY!" Happy flew towards Natsu and Lucy.. he had been trapped under some rubble and had finally gotten out. He flew next to Natsu. "Luce.. no Lucee.. cmon.." Natsu knelt on the ground and let Lucy down onto the floor. "WENDY!"
Wendy ran over.. and knelt next to Lucy…
"Omg.. Lucy-san!.. " "Just heal her please.. quickly.." "Okay." Wendy put her hand out and began healing Lucy's stomach.
Lucy was really pale..
Laxus appeared next to Azlack and Bisca and let them free. The two parents ran to Asuka and hugged her crying.. the Cornell family was reunited again. he looked over at his father lying the crater.. knocked out by his own punch.. and his grandfather.. who was watching him from afar. They met gazes and Laxus just looked away.. he turned around and left the guild. Master Makarov watched with worried eyes his grandson leave alone.
Gajeel appeared next to Levy.. he let her free and helped her get up. "Thanks Gajeel.." Levy said softly. "No problem." Gajeel said back as he was going to walk away. "Thank you… for bringing her back." She said as she put a hand on his arm… Gajeel turned his head towards the side briefly.. before he turned his head away again and walked away. Lily flew behind him and left Levy standing there alone.
Mira and Elfman helped release Lisanna and helped her get up. They hugged each other in relief. Lisanna looked over at Natsu.. his eyes never leaving Lucy's… and a deathly pale Lucy on the ground.. she couldn't help but be amazed.. be amazed that it was Lucy who brought Natsu back to FairyTail.. and it was Lucy who had saved Asuka from death.
"C'mon Lisanna… let's get you cleaned up." Mira said pushing her towards the kitchen. "I'll help.. I'm not letting you two out of my sight" Elf-man said. "I think you should go help Evergreen.. she needs you right now." Mira said smiling gently.. "Nee-san…" Elf-man said softly. "Go.. help her. We'll be fine." Lisanna said as she and Mira went into the back. Smiling warmly and thanking God for giving him such angels as sisters, Elfman turned around and went searching for Evergreen..
Gray and Juvia went around helping the guild members up and getting them patched up. Master Makarov called for the Magic Council to pick up and jail the Raven Tail members they had captured. He walked up to Lucy and Natsu. He stood watching in pain as he saw the state Lucy was in. Wendy was taking the stapes out of Lucy's body.. it looked absolutely painful. Natsu looked up the master.
"Jii-chan…" "You did good Natsu… all of you did.. thank you for bringing her back home." Master Makarov said smiling gently… "Okay.. Natsu-san.. let's move Lucy-san to infirmary now. She's stable enough to be moved."
Natsu got up and lifted Lucy into his arms. Wendy and Master Makarov led the way.. and Natsu and happy followed behind them. As they passed.. everyone smiled.. warmly and cheered..
Azlack and Bisca smiled at Natsu and Lucy…
"Thank you Lucy…" Azlack said softly as he held Asuka in his arms.
He passed by Levy.. and Levy watched them go by crying.. happy that she was back. Jet and Droy were standing beside her now for support.
Soon.. he had to pass by Gray and Juvia. Gray followed behind Natsu and left Juvia standing at the bottom of the stairs. The two men ascended the stairs together and disappeared around the corner to the infirmary.
“Juvia!” Levy called as she ran up to the othe bluenette.
“Levy-san...” Juvia replied calmly.
“What exactly happened out there? Gajeel.. he’s acting different...” Juvia shook her head solemnley.
“Juvia doesn’t know. But Love-rival was really bad... Laxus-san and Gajeel-san were there when the big stuff happened... Even Gray-sama was different. None of them even spoke a word on the way back home...” Juvia looked up to where the other men had dissapeared. Something was bothering her... What you knew for sure was that those four had changed... and possibly not for the better.
-
The warm water dripped from his face.. down his bare back.. his chest.. it felt nice.. soothing.. he watched the water drip down his right arm… from his right hand… he quickly took the soap bar and began rubbing it all over his right hand… he scrubbed as hard as he could… but even after the soap had washed away… it wasn't enough..
he clenched his right fist tightly and punched the wall hard without his iron dragon slayer magic… he kept punching the wall.. over and over again… until the skin of his knuckles cracked and began to bleed…
No matter what.. he knew… it would never wash away..
-
He was punching away at his punching bag… nonstop.. not thinking.. just hitting… and when the bag broke.. he got another new bag and put it up.. and punched away again…
It hurt.. it hurt all over again.. he gripped the punching bag and headbutted it.. with his head leaning on the bag..
"When is it ever going to stop… when…" he gritted his teeth.. tears rolled down his cheeks…
Out of frustration again.. he let go of the bag and began punching away…

My Incredibly Unpopular Thoughts On: Nastu
Unfortunately, this the final edition of “My Incredibly Unpopular Thoughts”. This has been a fun series to write and is part of the reason I’ve gotten to where I am in the fandom. Some of my favorite posts to have made are parts of this series. And so, I’ve decided to finish this series off by talking about my favorite character.
Let me be clear. This doesn’t mean that I’m done talking about Fairy Tail here. I just feel that it’s finally time to retire this series. If you can’t tell, it’s been fairly infrequent and writing these kinds of posts are a pain to write. I started this particular post in March and coming up with the right words to say for everything I wanted to talk about was harder than I would have thought. I want to spend my time working other smaller projects/”mini-series”.
I don't talk about my namesake much on this blog. Sure, I mention things about him whenever I talk about his ships or my want for an apology. However, I haven't said anything about my own personal thoughts about Natsu in a long post dedicated to just him.
So, in honor of Fairy Tail ending (months after this is coming out) and hitting 9,000 posts, I've decided to get as many of my thoughts on my favorite character as I can write down and available for the public eye.
First things first, I haven’t said this in a while, so I might as well. The reason behind my URL “Natsu beats rock” comes from chapter 418. If you remember, Natsu’s flames after the time skip were hot enough to melt the rock structure of the stadium. Hence, Natsu is so powerful that he’s able to beat rocks.
Literally every other meaning behind the name you can think of, including my other series “Opinions I’ll Probably get Stoned For”, came along after the fact. And the name for that series was just because I was afraid of being attacked for the stuff I was going to be saying. Looking back, there’s an additional reason for this name: Natsu is so overpowered, he can melt destroy rocks. Though, in hindsight, I believe that the name @natsubeatstime would achieve that end a lot clearer, thanks to chapter 536.
Before the cut, I want to bring back an issue I mentioned the last time I said anything about doing something before a cut in this series. Do I think Natsu is the main character? To many people, this feels like a stupid debate, but I'd venture to guess different people will probably think different answers. Surprisingly, this is a big debate in the fandom: Is Natsu the protagonist or is Lucy? There is a lot of back and forth on this subject and many people you know are probably on different sides of this debate.
When I did my post about Lucy, I gave my own answer. Technically, they both are important, but I take preference to Natsu. I stand by that so that's done.
Onto two of Natsu’s most important relationships: Igneel and Happy.
Natsu’s relationship with Igneel suffers from a serious issue with Mashima’s writing of Fairy Tail. There's no focus on it. It's supposed to be a serious and important thing to Natsu, but it's hard to get that when we see no focus on that. Now, a simple solution to that, and a big inspiration for last year's Nali week post is that Natsu gave up on the idea of finding Igneel again. I this gets hinted at a few times, but it should have been more implied throughout the series. There are some more things I have to say about this, but I plan on doing so in other posts.
Natsu and Happy have the best friendship in the series. I think it's to the point that Lucy doesn't seem near as close to Natsu as Happy. And between them, Naruto and Kurama, Ichigo and Kon, and even Haru and Plue, they have my favorite bond between the main character and his nonhuman companion. (I was going to make a ship joke here, but I didn’t because of course. Instead, why don’t you look at this link of someone educating me on Kinabra lore.)
Though one thing about their dynamic strikes me as weird. Often Happy will test Natsu like he's the younger of the two. I get that Natsu isn't the most mature and this kind of thing happens in real life with siblings. But Natsu hatched Happy from an egg. You think he'd think twice before talking down Natsu the way he often does.
Now before I talk about ships, I want to acknowledge that there are people who would rather Natsu specifically not end up in any romantic relationships at the end of the series. I think that is a totally valid wish and, considering that’s the ending we got, I want to say that I have no problem with it. I get that Natsu is one of the big champions of the bonds between guilds and romance has never been a huge aspect that's been explored on his end, not that I would say it's been ignored.
So seeing Natsu end up alone but happy would be totally fine with me. I'm kind of sad my ship(s) didn't happen, but as long as Natsu is happy, I have no reason to be sad. And from what I can tell, he's ecstatic to go on the Century Quest. As a general rule, character happiness should be prioritized above fan happiness. You can be mad that certain things didn’t happen. However, as long as your favorite characters are alive and happy, that’s usually what should matter most.
That being said, I am a multi-shipper for Natsu. It's probably worse than you think. I've said this before, but I want to expand on my thoughts a bit. I have three big ships for Natsu that I like: Nali (Natsu and Lisanna), Natza (Natsu and Erza), and Navia (Natsu and Juvia). I've done enough posts on this blog defending and explaining my thoughts on the first one, so I want to explain why I like the other two for a bit.
It's kinda funny how I've done so many Natza asks but I haven't explained my own reasons for liking it. I don't think you always have to explain why you like or dislike a ship. But when you're not a fan of the popular stuff, you almost have to have a good reason why.
I really like the bond that Erza and Natsu have. Even in just the recent arc, we see Erza trusting Natsu more than the people around her. And yes, this arc made me like it more, but I've always liked the bond these two have and wouldn't mind seeing them get together.
And, I don't know about you, but I don't remember bathing with my siblings. Especially with my sisters.
The next one might be an out there choice for a lot of people. Of all the popular Natsu ships out there, Navia probably seems like the most out there one to people who don't like it. However, I have a few reasons to like it.
For one, and this will sound especially weird given a lot of my posts, they're two of my favorite characters. As much as I rag on her, I think that if Juvia mellowed out earlier, she'd probably be my favorite female character or even Fairy Tail character just by virtue of being a relevant female water mage with blue hair. Yes, my first edition of this series (which I won’t link here because my writing from then is not the best) was about how I don’t like how her character is handled. However, it was done through the lens of that being my only real issue with her.
To that point, there are a lot of people who say that, aside from Gray, Juvia would have no character so it's weird that people would like her if that aspect of her were gone. Consider that people also accuse Natsu of having no character now, so that's not that big an issue for me. And from what I can gather, there are plenty of people who do like Juvia even though they don't like Gruvia.
Another reason I like this ship is that I think that, if Juvia is the way she is because she's been starved of real love, I think that one of the few people in the series that could fill that void. I think that stuff like in Day of the Fateful Encounter, Rainbow Cherry Blossoms and the anime version of Natsu and the Dragon Egg show that Natsu is capable of going above and beyond to do things to people that are important to him. (Even as the whole Tartaros conclusion thing shows how he can mess with those bonds without much of a second thought.) I could only imagine how that would go with Juvia.
And something, something, water-fire dynamic.
Under them is basically any other ship Natsu is in. Now, I feel the need to stress this point because I don't think that people will understand how bad this is if I just say it like I just did. Someone was even worried that I would only talk about the popular ships when I said I would talk about the Natsu ships. To put it simply, if you're genuinely willing to write down a scenario where Natsu ends up liking pretty much anyone who has had an appearance in this series, there is a strong chance that I will accept it as a possible ship for Natsu. The reason why is simply because I’m genuinely interested in how people would imagine Natsu would end up in all kinds of relationships. (Even as many of these stories, admittedly, end in smut that I end up skipping over.)
To illustrate this point, here are some of the ships I've found myself liking one way or another:
Natsu and Levy: because if Natsu’s life depended on a book, she's the mage I'd have picked to save him.
Natsu and Meredy: because they both have pink hair
Natsu and Ikaruga: because being enemies and dead are easily written around in series, anyway
Natsu and Brandish: case in point for the first point
Natsu and Sayla: case in point for both and we might as well considering our obsession with END (we’ll get there)
Natsu and Gray: because this is basically the only way I'd believe Gray is a tsundere
Natsu and Mirajane: because shipping one of the Strauss sisters with Natsu doesn't mean I can't ship the other sister with him
Natsu and Cana: because I'd support a universe wherein Gildarts is Natsu’s father in law
I think you get the point.
Keep in mind that there are exceptions. For example, I don't ship Natsu with Wendy, both because I don't like the Wendy ships and obvious other reasons. Natsu and Mavis was a ship I saw someone make, but I don't think Natsu and Zeref need another reason not to get along. Also, I wasn't too thrilled about the Anna joke in the last chapter. So, while I am open to different options, I have my limits.
Also, and I’m kind of weirded out by having to explain this at all, this doesn’t mean that I support all these ships happening at the same time. I’ve seen people hear a term like “multi-shipper” and think that it means support for infidelity or harems. It just means that I like the idea of multiple ships for Natsu as possibilities.
The best way I can explain multi-shipping, especially given my explanation for feelings of Natsu ships, is like ice cream. My personal favorite ice cream is chocolate chip cookie dough. However, that doesn’t mean that I only eat chocolate chip cookie dough. Sometimes, I’ll have another type of ice cream, even if chocolate chip cookie dough is available to eat. The fact that I’m eating some mint chocolate chip or french vanilla ice cream doesn’t mean I suddenly don’t like chocolate chip or even that I like whatever flavor I’m eating more. It means that I’m open to the idea of eating more than just one flavor of ice cream. This analogy fails in the sense that you can have multiple ice cream flavors at the same time, but hopefully, you get the idea.
Then there's Nalu.
I don't like it.
At all.
It’s just the worst.
If by any chance you haven't seen it, I've already explained why in great detail in another post.
Though I will say one problem I have with Nalu fans that I didn't mention there is how negative towards Natsu they are. I don't deny that Natsu is dumb. I think he's a bit smarter than we give him credit for, but I also feel that Natsu is incredibly inconsistent in those regards. That being said, no one overplays it like the Nalu fandom. And if I'm perfectly honest, it feels like they have to. How else can you explain him not getting a clue that Lucy likes him? It's obvious that he just doesn't know she likes him. At least, that’s the narrative...
Other than the obvious problem I should have with this, my problem with this is how Mashima would have done it. When Kishimoto did it with NH, I was kind of okay with it considering there was enough to convince me it was possible. I can't afford the same grace to Nalu since finding out it wasn't the original plan.
While we're talking about Natsu fan interpretations, another thing I don't like fans doing is making E.N.D. versions of Natsu. I kinda get making him look kind of like a dragon, similar to the stuff in Dragon Cry. But I find it weird that fans romanticize Natsu becoming E.N.D. Especially when it comes to shipping art for Natsu. The conceit of Natsu’s transformation could prove a ship as canon is disturbing to me. And in case you’re wondering, no this isn’t just a Nalu thing. I can only think of two good versions of E.N.D!Natsu ship material, both for Nali. Even then, I'm wary of the way it was done there as well.
The weird thing about all of this is that Natsu was already END. All throughout this last arc, Zeref was referring to Natsu as END. What many people might be imagining is an Etherious form of Natsu, which still would be weird to romanticize. However, that's not what people are thinking about drawing and writing. They’re imagining Natsu turning into an entirely different and demonized version of himself that he’s unable to control, kind of like stereotypical werewolves.
In general, I feel like the big problem with the Natsu fandom, specifically the Nalu side, is a lack of good arguments. I get wanting to defend your favorite character, but it gets to a disturbing level of stupid at times. While some might assume I'm biased because I'm not a Nalu shipper, I'd like to share some of the arguments made for him:
Natsu can't be ace because he's constantly sexually assaulting Lucy.
Natsu shouldn't apologize to Lucy because leaving a note for her was enough.
Lucy has finally gotten used to Natsu groping her. That's totally a good thing.
Stone Age Omake was totally in character for Natsu.
The entire reason Natsu helped Lucy to bring the guild back together was to apologize to Lucy.
I know some of you reading this might think these arguments are valid. Unfortunately, this is my incredibly unpopular thoughts on Natsu. Not yours.
I honestly don't feel capable of defending Natsu on many of the points critics have with him. I agree that his fights can be stupid and he's overpowered. I think that he's written all over the place. If you asked me a year ago, I'd say he's of average intelligence but now I think that, again, it's all over the place. I'm not sure how to judge his small moments of genius alongside his other amounts of idiocy. If there's anything I'm known for talking about Natsu, it's my criticism of his non-apology to Lucy. In fact, if you Google this blog, one of my posts on that will probably show up. I've checked.
So, why is he still my favorite character? I can justify him being my favorite character when I started this series. I fell in love with him after Dear Kaby, just as I fell in love with the series and I enjoyed seeing how he dealt with stuff. And I was nowhere near as aware of his faults, in addition to the series’, up until more than halfway through my first year doing this blog.
But why, knowing everything that I know about the series and especially about Natsu, would I still say Natsu is my favorite character?
Because despite anything I know to be wrong with him, I still enjoy rooting for him. I still feel pain whenever he gets sad. I love both his sub and dub voice in the anime and Funimation’s work on the dub has made watching him do stuff even more fun. I know that sounds more like a description of what you do for your favorite characters, but knowing everything I do about Natsu and not being able to stop my love for him is exactly why I consider him to be my favorite character.
The more I think about it, I feel like my feelings about Natsu are a symbol of my feelings for this series as a whole. As much as I know this series isn't good and I could be spending my time talking about a better series, I still can't pull myself away from this series.
And believe, I would have if I could. However, I’m finishing this next to a folder of untyped essays for Fairy Tail and it’s fandom close to four months after it’s ended. I’ve even started working on how I would rewrite the series.
In Conclusion:
Natsu’s not the best-written character in Fairy Tail. However, I have a lot of love for him as one of the main characters of one of my favorite series. It’s like they were made for each other.
Thanks to all of you for supporting me and the other editions of this series. A special thank you to those people who gave me other topics to discuss regarding Natsu than the ones I had originally planned. If you didn’t see your topic, I haven’t ignored it. You might just see it show up in a future post.
See you!
