She's not coming home

Paring(s): TK Strand x sister! Reader, Carlos Reyes x best friend! Reader, Owen Strand x daughter! Reader, the 126 x reader

Summary: You get seriously injured out on a call with Carlos and he's the one who has to tell TK and Owen that you didn't make it.

Notes: Hiii, just a heads up this is kinda rushed and bad and I have no idea why I wrote it but yea hope u enjoy anyway.

"T-this is office Reyes, my partners been shot and s-shes losing too much blood. I need a ambulance right now!"

The call was nothing but a noise complaint. It just some teenagers having a party and had their music up too loud. So, how did it get like this? The thought kept running through Carlos's head, as he desperately tried to stop the blood from gushing out of your chest.

Your uniform was now covered in deep, red blood. Your blood. You stared blankly at Carlos, as he kept trying to keep you awake, but you were slowly losing the battle. "C-carlos..." Your voice was so small and quite, Carlos just barley heard it.

"Shhh, save your energy. The ambulance should be here soon, ok? So, just keep your eyes open" Carlos's voice was breaking with each word. Saltly tears run down both his face and yours but everytime he tried to blink them away, more just kept coming.

"...Carlos... P-please tell TK and my d-dad that I love them..." You asked, practically begging him. "No, no, no... your gonna tell them yourself, ok? Don't say stuff like that, your gonna live, Y/N" Carlos's voice was stern but if looked into his eyes you could easily see the fear in them.

The ambulance siren could be heard in the distance. "You hear that? Their coming. Everything's going to be okay" Carlos whispered, but you couldn't even hear those few words. Everything was going black. Your battle would soon end.

Carlos stood in the waiting room of the hospital, frozen. He had blood all over him; on his face, on his clothes, everywhere from head to toe. He glanced down at his hands that's haven't stopped shaking since the incident. They were covered in blood. His best friends blood.

A older nurse, probably around 30-40 came up to him and asked if he was already since he had blood all over him. He just looked at her blankly before shaking his head no. She just gave him a small, sad smile before pointing towards the bathroom, so he could clean up.

Carlos stared at himself in the mirror, before slowly turning on the tap. His eyes welled up with tears again as the blood slowly come off his skin. He watched helplessly as the blood went down the sink, washing away into sewers.

Carlos's heart was ripping into a million pieces just as the thought of her blood washing away into nothing. It pained him. He took a couple deep breathes before leaving the bathroom, so he could make the call. The call no one ever wants to make.

He slowly pulled his phone from his pocket, and stared at TK's name. A million emotions filled his head as he brought his shaking finger to the call button. It rang a couple of times before TK's voice could be heard.

"Babe? Is everything okay?"

Carlos took one final deep breathe before he answered. He's voice breaking even more than before. "TK.... something happened... a-and I need you and Owen to come down to the h-hospital"

"CARLOS!"

The said man, looked up at the sound of his boyfriends voice calling his name. He stood up from his spot and wiping his hands slowly on his pants. TK pulled him into a hug before pulling away. "Are you okay? What happened? Is Y/N is okay?" TK asked, barley giving Carlos time to speak.

"I- I...." Carlos took a deep breath before continuing. "We were out on a noise complaint call about some teenagers throwing a party but w-when we got there, some drunk kid pulled a gun out and she... Y/N jumped in front of me a-and..."

"And what Carlos? What happened to my daughter?" Owen's voice cut through the silence, tears threatening to fall.

"I-I'm so, so sorry" The tears Carlos had been trying to hold back, finally fall, rolling down his skin. TK choked on a sob before falling to his knees, screaming and crying for his loss sister.

Carlos bent down to TK's level and pulled him into his arms, rocking him back and forth, trying to smooth his broken boyfriend. "I'm so sorry, I couldn't protect her"

Owen just stood still in the same spot, tears falling slowly down his cheeks. He didn't want to believe it. He couldn't. His little girl, his baby girl was gone. Owen could hear his sons broken crys but he was too forced on his fallen daughter.

The door didn’t creak as it opened but Owen felt the light from the hallway on his face. He lifted his head and saw the dark shape of his youngest shutting the door behind her before shuffling quickly over to the bed.

“Hey, Sunshine,” he said, “trouble sleeping?”

You didn’t offer much more than an “I’m sleeping with you” as you crawled down the middle of the bed and lay flat between your parents.

Owen nodded definitively. “You’re sleeping with me.” He turned his head to look at you. “Why? Did Mom change your mattress?”

“Shush!” Owen had whispered, but you put a finger to your lips all the same, prompting Owen to mirror you. “Don’t give her ideas.” You sighed and glanced at your mother not at all approvingly. “She took down my frame of New York and hung up a picture of some monkey she said she got T.K. when he was a baby. But Dad, I can feel it looking at me. It’s creepy as heck.”

“Oh, God,” Owen groaned. “How did she even find—” He raised himself slightly, ensuring Gwyneth was still asleep, then lay back down— “I took that down and hid it in a corner of the garage when T.K. turned one. She didn’t believe me when I said that was the reason the kid wouldn’t sleep at night.” He leaned over to whisper conspiratorially. “Blamed it on the decorators we had in to paint the room.”

You snorted a little loudly before covering your mouth. After a moment of silence and no movement from your right, you lowered your hand. “Mom’ll have decorators in next.”

Owen snorted this time, not bothering to cover it up. “She better not,” he said, “the colours in this house are perfect.”

“Everything’s perfect. Was perfect.”

Despite your dejected tone, a corner of Owen’s lips curved upwards slightly. He’d known, of course, that the cursed monkey, no matter how horrific it looked, couldn’t be the only reason for his grown daughter to come sneaking into her parents’ room in the middle of the night. You had sought out his company at night plenty before Gwyn had arrived, and he was sure you’d done the same with Gwyn, but there had always been a reason behind it. He didn’t usually have to pull it out of you, you were good at spilling your thoughts when you knew you needed to. You definitely didn’t take after him in that aspect.

Reaching over, Owen pinched your cheek. “Uh-ohhh,” he sing-songed, grinning when you pushed his hand away, “Y/N’s got something on her miiind.” He settled when you stared blankly at the ceiling and dropped his voice. “Talk to me.”

You took a moment, always did. Then: “Everything’s changing. Not just the creepy monkey. This is the first time I’ve ever seen you guys in the same bed together.”

Owen rose an eyebrow. He hadn’t thought about that. T.K. had been seven when he and Gwyn had divorced, so he’d known at least for a time what it was like to have married parents. You, meanwhile, had been both Owen and Gwyn’s divorce gift to the other. You’d been born and had grown up in two separate homes, both as busy as the other, never privy to the happy family life your friends always talked about. Seeing your parents in bed together was such a trivial thing he hadn’t thought twice about, but it made sense that for you it would be at the forefront of your mind.

“I would’ve thought you’d appreciate that,” he said.

“Oh, this—” You vaguely gestured to him and your mom— “I do. It’s really, really cool. But everything is just—it's—” Quietly exasperated, you tossed your arms in the air before bringing them down again on either side of you. “It’s just weird, Dad.”

“Change,” Owen said. “Yeah, you get that from me. Listen, Sunshine…” He turned on his side to face you, glad when you did the same. “Your feelings are perfectly valid. I’m not the greatest fan of change either, believe it or not, and I know it’s all coming really fast, what with the move and the baby…but it’s all gonna be worth it in the end, right?”

You sighed, toying with the end of the duvet. “Yeah.”

There was more, then. “Y/N Strand.” Owen lowered his voice and his head, brows raising to ensure you knew he wasn’t playing. “My bed, my rules. Spill.”

“But it’s really stupid!”

“I once got told half of what comes out of my mouth is stupid.“ He grasped your hand and squeezed it gently. "What is it? The baby?” Your face fell and he nodded once. “The baby.”

“That’s the biggest change.”

“Yeah, I know.”

“I won’t be the baby anymore.”

Ah. He frowned on instinct but corrected it almost immediately. “Not literally, but—and don’t laugh—you’ll always be my baby.” That got a smile from you, and he counted it a massive victory. "Seriously now. Don’t worry about the baby, alright? Things’ll continue to be a bit weird for a couple weeks, and when the baby arrives it’ll be weird again, but things’ll settle eventually.” He kissed your nose. “And I know you’ll make the best big sister.”

Any response you might have given him, other than a wide smile that had Owen claiming the victorious of victories, was interrupted by a quiet and unexpected: "Hey.”

Owen lifted his head to stare across at the, once again, cracked open door. “T.K.?”

T.K. stood at the door. Owen was getting déjà vu. “Can I—" T.K. pressed his lips together in a thin line and walked further into the room, speaking quietly but loud enough for his dad to hear. “Mom switched my mattress and my back aches.”

You gasped and sat up. “She did not.”

“She did too. You got room in there or should I sleep on the couch?”

You shuffled as close to Owen as you could without him falling off the bed. Tucked into his side, his arms pulling you close to him, Owen patted the space between you and Gwyn.

“Hop in, son. Can’t say this’ll be more comfortable than a hard mattress but it’s feeling weirdly like the old makeshift fort days.”

Like brother, like sister, T.K. quietly clambered onto the bed and down the middle until he was neatly stuck between you and Gwyn. There was silence for a moment.

“All I’m saying is she better not have thrown my mattress away because that baby is being returned to me the moment I wake up else I’m moving in with Carlos.”

Gwyn stirred so suddenly at T.K.’s less-than-quiet outburst that the three of you jumped. As if it had been done countless times before, you acted deep in sleep almost immediately, you with your arm slung over your exaggeratedly-snoring dad’s chest, T.K. with his leg stuck in an odd angle and hands folded over his stomach like he was sitting prettily in a coffin.

"What the…” Gwyn muttered, shifting in her place. Then—"Aww. My babies"—before she promptly fell asleep again.

T.K. moved first, his laughter coming in faint bursts. "She’s like Freddie Krueger,” he whispered.

“Sexy Freddie Krueger.”

“Ew, Dad.” You slapped his shoulder.

“Alright, alright. Let’s sleep, if we can.” He reached across to pat T.K. before resting his hand on your head. “Night, kiddos.”

“Night, Dad.”

“Don’t let the bed bugs bite.”

And if Owen fell out of the bed in the middle of the night…he definitely complained about it.

Approval (Strand!Sister)

Idea: 911 lone star where reader is tk's sister and gives Carlos the “you hurt my brother I kill you” threat

Requested: Nope

Author’s Note: I know no one asked for it specifically, but I wrote this first. I also just finished my last exam today and had some downtime before things got busy for me. I felt like I did terrible with this backstory and I’m sorry this is so short. I also switched the ‘person’ angle this is written in a lot. Sorry. Requests are still open. Feedback is always appreciated. (Update from 4-30-22) I’m going to my graduation ceremony this afternoon even if I have one semester left. Yay! I promise I’m working on my other ideas, they’re just taking some time.

Warning: Only brief spoilers. I haven’t watched much of 911 lone star, but TK and Carlos are the cutest gay couple on tv I know.

Word Count: 987, this is short for me

You were working when your Dad texted you to pack a bag for 1 week, maybe more. You were living with him at the time, but you were thankful that he found TK when he did because you couldn’t lose your brother after it had already felt like you had lost your mom to the divorce. As much as you didn’t like the sudden shift from New York to Texas, you went because you wanted to support your brother. You also figured if Texas is as people say it is, then there will not be as many drugs down there for your brother to get his hands on should he want to try what he did that night again, at least in Austin.

You were making breakfast in the kitchen when TK came in. “You know, after being in Austin for 6 months, I feel like I should have gotten used to the heat. Nope.” TK laughed at your attempted humor. He feels bad that he had to uproot your life when your dad made both of you come down, but after countless reassurances, he was made aware that the only thing about New York you missed was the snow.

“Speaking of things heating up…”

“Tyler Kennedy Strand please don’t tell me you did something stupid or got an STD.” Those were the only other things that ‘heating up’ could mean.

“No no no. Nothing like that. I just…” He was biting his lip and avoiding eye contact. Whatever it was he wanted to talk to you about, it was serious. You stopped cutting your banana and faced him fully paying attention to what he had to say. “I wanted to know if you would like to meet my boyfriend.” That was not the thing you expected to hear on a Tuesday morning.

“Are you sure TK? Are things serious? Did you tell him about why you came to Texas?”

“Yes, 99% sure, and yes he found that out when he arrested me shortly after we got here.” Things were at a stalemate now. On one hand, I wanted to be happy for my brother, but on the other, the last time my brother had a boyfriend who he thought he loved enough to almost propose to him, he got into a breakup, and almost died had our Dad not found him in time.

“Ok. Set up a lunch with all of us and I’ll be there. I promise I’ll try not to interrogate him.”

“I think interrogating is a part of his job.” He threw back with a smirk.

“And looking out for my brother is a part of mine and that’s a job I take VERY seriously.” TK then looked at me with eyes that if they could talk would say ‘I’m thankful I have you in my life.’

**Fast Forward to Meet-up Day (and through most of the conversation because I didn’t know what to write)**

“So you’re telling me you went Sherlock and Watson WITH OUR DAD to find the ambulance crew.” You knew your dad was stubborn, but he went into full-on detective mode when you heard this story.

“I mean it helped that TK left us a bread crumb.” Carlos turned his head to look at TK. You could automatically see the love in his eyes as he looked at your brother. You had been seeing that look the whole night.

“Ok, I’m going to go to the bathroom quickly before you both start exchanging embarrassing stories about me.” TK pointed at you.

“What?!? I would never.” You state back giving your best innocent face.

“You would and you know it.” Then TK left you alone with his boyfriend. You both just stared in the direction TK left waiting for the other to start talking.

“Ok, I’m just going to say it. I approve of you and my brother because I see the way you two look at each other with love and adoration in your eyes. But I’m going to be frank with you. The last time my brother thought he found ‘the one’ he overdosed and almost died that night.” Carlos just nodded at you looking back down at his food scraps. From that body language, you could tell that he knew about TK’s past history of substance abuse. “So I’m going to be the protective sister. I approve of you two, but if you hurt my brother I will kill you. You got me?”

“Yes, mam.” Carlos nodded at you quickly. Getting my approval must have been something important to him if he was taking this conversation very seriously.

“Now that that’s out of the way, have I told you the time TK got a wedgie on the ladder truck?” Carlos laughed at your attempt to break the tension, unfortunately for you, TK returned from his bathroom trip.

“And you will not be telling that story anytime soon.”

The rest of the night went by smoothly. You loved to see your brother so happy with someone who made him feel happy and safe. You parted ways in the parking lot giving each of the boys a long hug before driving back to your Dad’s house.

**TK POV**

“So, what did I miss? Did she threaten you?” Carlos smiled as he got into the passenger seat next to me.

“Yeah, but in the protective sister kind of way. I like her.” I took his hand over the console and interlocked our fingers.

“And I think she liked you. Thanks for being the best babe and being willing to do this.” Carlos’s other hand came up and cupped my cheek.

“I love you too.” *Kiss* I started the car and drove back to Carlos’s place keeping our fingers interlocked the whole ride home. No matter what drama went on with my parents, I’m glad to know my sister and my boyfriend are always going to be there for me.

Proposal || Buck x Strand!Reader Headcanons

TK’s sister anon requested: “can you do an HC on buck proposing to Strand!reader and Tk helping (and not telling Owen until after)”

A/N: Sorry this is short, but this was really fun to write!

- First off, Buck would tell TK before he even thought about proposing to you, which inevitably means Carlos knows as well

- TK would fly to LA to come visit you, and would make Buck go ring shopping so he can approve it because he knows your taste really well

- He’d also help plan the proposal because you used to talk about it when you were kids

- TK would come up the week of the proposal and take you shopping, get your nails done together and have sibling bonding time (he would rock acrylics and i will not take criticism)

- When it comes to the actual event, Buck had the day planned to the letter.

-You’d go to the park for a picnic, have some wine and lunch, and then he’d take you to the beach when it wasn’t too crowded

- He’d surprise you by waiting until you were facing the ocean to get on one knee, and then have you turn around

- when you say yes, he’d pick you up and spin your around, and then immediately let you take whatever pictures you want

- The 118, Buck’s family and Tarlos knows about the engagement, because you wouldn’t keep it from them if you tried, but it was decided that Owen didn’t need to know until much, much later

- He finds out at dinner a couple months later, when you forgot to take off your ring beforehand.

- He immediately flips his shit, asking you and Buck why you didn’t tell him, saying buck should have asked for permission first before he proposed, etc.

-Buck goes off on him, saying that Owen would need to act like an actual father before he would even consider asking “permission” out of respect for him.

-He’d also go off on a tangent about how he needed to learn boundaries when it came to his children’s lives, such as how he fucking controlled every aspect of TK’s recovery when they first moved to Austin.

- Carlos chimes in and agrees, noting the two of you usually just stay quiet and take the bullshit and it’s gone on long enough

- Eventually your four leave to go somewhere else, enjoying the time you guys have together.
