stuck thinking about when day gets crowded and overwhelmed on his birthday he calls out to gee of all people there to remove him from the situation; and how when day tells her he wants to be alone she makes sure he knows she wants to understand him and he can talk to her (not to help him or to fix things for him; simply to understand him) and when day reaffirms a boundary she accepts this and doesn't press further. he's her friend and she cares for him but he's still an adult and she has no problem treating him as such and i think that at the moment she is the only one from day's past who is actively able to do so

Summary: The reader stumbles into Jensen at her favorite bar, a very drunk Jensen. She soon realizes Jensen was booked for a con this weekend and has to be eight hours from town in only two.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7
Warnings: Language, the Spicy level is turning up, also I'm mean, mention of drugs
Although this is an RPF, these are fabricated characters and should not reflect back IRL. I intend no hate or ill wishes to him or his family. This is purely just for writing and wasting my time as a coping skill. Maybe some of you will enjoy it too. I apologize in advance for any mistakes or grammatical/spelling errors. I appreciate any feedback or suggestions!
---
Water patted against the tiled floor, and steam billowed through the room, fogging the glass. Suds lathered your skin as you finally uncovered Jensen’s iconic scent, locking the product in your memory so you could immediately purchase some upon your return home. The warmth soothed the deep aches in your muscles, relieving the built-up tension you had been carrying with you all day. You could have stayed there all night, soaking up every ounce of relaxation. But you had a date to catch that started at 10:00 PM. Having risen at an ungodly hour this morning, you hoped to sneak in a quick nap to revitalize yourself further. God forbid you doze off in the middle of a momentous conversation.
The metallic squeak of the handle cut the water off, and you stepped onto the fluffy rug. The plush towel wrapped fully around you, a rare occurrence in hotel accommodations, especially considering where you stayed these past few nights. The mirror squeaked as you wiped away the condensation. With a second towel, you wrung out your hair, and only then did it hit you while looking for a brush. In the haste of chasing down Jensen, you had left your suitcase in the car. For the time being, you combed your fingers through your hair, hoping to avoid tangles. Instead of panicking, you thought it through and remembered the gray sweats he had donned the other night. Borrowing a few pieces of his clothing could get you where you needed to be. And to your knowledge, only Casey and her friends would be able to recognize you. It was a solid plan.
As soon as you stepped out of the bathroom, the steam escaping with you, Jensen stepped into the hotel room. You both stood frozen, like deer in a headlight. His restraint was visible, but he lost the inner battle as his gaze roamed over your figure. You smirked triumphantly, remembering how he had put you in a similar situation at the motel in Kansas. Payback’s a bitch. Then he faltered a step forward, and your arrogance shattered.
“I thought you had autographs?” You broke the silence.
“I do.” He answered, followed by a lengthy pause. He blinked rapidly as if escaping a trance. “In fifteen minutes. I wanted to make sure you had everything you needed and brought you some food.” He held up what remained of their takeout, knowing you’d be hungry despite your earlier denial.
“Thank you.” You squeaked.
He set it on the console and then turned around to prevent his gaze from further wandering. He was about to head for the door when you stopped him, lessening the gap.
“I forgot my suitcase,” You explained. “Is it okay if I borrow a few clothes to go grab it?”
Jensen glanced back over his shoulder. “Yeah, of course.”
He took a step to leave, and you stopped him again. “You don’t have a first aid kit, by chance?”
That caught his attention.
He turned fully back to you, voice brimming with concern. “I thought you said you were okay?”
He didn’t wait for your reply and rushed to his suitcase, digging for his toiletry bag.
“I’m fine.” You assured. “But I’d like to get an antibiotic on my leg now that the excitement of the day is over.”
“Sit down,” He instructed, fishing through the bag.
You looked around the room and sat on the closest option, the edge of the bed. “I can take care of it later.”
He eyed you disapprovingly, letting you know the topic was not up for debate. As he kneeled in front of you, the towel felt less and less spacious than you had initially thought. You wrapped it tighter around you and pinched your legs together as if it could contain the strain pulling in your very center.
Jensen seemed oblivious to your quickening heart and growing need. He was honed in on your injury as if his sole intervention could heal it instantly. After finding what he had been searching for, he gently rubbed a layer of ointment across your tender skin. A sharp inhale and gritted teeth suppressed a greater hiss, but after first contact, the sting lessened. Jensen wiped his fingers clean with a tissue and took your ankle gingerly in his grasp to turn your leg, ensuring he hadn’t missed a spot. That’s when he caught sight of the bruise on your thigh sprawling past your hip. Without thinking, his hand reached right under it, turning it inward to inspect it fully. It was blooming from shades of red to violet.
“Jesus, Y/N.” He whispered.
You squinted your eyes shut, trying to concentrate on anything other than his thumb pressed firmly against your inner thigh. The intoxicating scent of cedar and rosemary swam around you, doubly potent from your shower and his closeness.
“It’s not as bad as it looks.” You managed to sputter out.
“Is the skin cut up here too?” He leaned forward, and you jumped back, your ribs the only thing caging your heart from bursting forth.
Jensen looked up at you, confused at first, and then, as his prefrontal cortex reconnected with more animalistic instincts, his eyes widened. He quickly pulled away, his hand grazing the underside of your thigh as he did.
“I’m sorry, I…” He started to apologize.
“Don’t,” You stopped him.
His eyes stayed locked onto yours, searching for meaning, for intention.
“Y/N?” He whispered.
“Jensen.” Your answer was as much of a call for him to return.
His heart matched yours, dancing on the edge of a cliff, a vastness awaiting below if either of you were to fall.
“We should take things slowly.” He wasn’t sure who the words were for.
You nodded your agreement. “If that’s what you think.”
Granted, it was what you had thought thirty minutes ago, but now that nothing was separating you aside from an unsecured sheet of cotton, thinking of the next time you would have the opportunity, let alone the next time you would see him, you weren’t so sure. The forest green of his eyes faded as his pupils dilated.
He remained frozen, afraid to make even the slightest move. “And what do you think?”
God, you weren’t sure he was ready for the thoughts flowing through your mind. He licked his bottom lip. But then again, how he had woken pressed against you mornings before. Perhaps he had dreamed of it as you had. And wasn't it lack of communication that set you apart in the first place? You didn’t answer verbally. With eyes never leaving him, you slightly parted your legs, expressing both permission and desire. In response, he sat higher on his knees, leaning closer to you. This time, you did not pull away. His fingers took a damp strand of hair, twisting it once before tucking it behind your ear. He deeply studied your features as his fingertips traced your cheekbone and across your jawline as you leaned into his touch. They trailed down your neck, over your gold necklace, and across your collarbone, sending a shivering shockwave throughout your being, calling every sense to alert. He paused at the edge where the towel was tucked in on itself, searching for permission, knowing that if this line was crossed, there was no taking it back.
You gripped his jaw in your grasp, stopping him. His hands dropped, hovering against your calves as he waited for your command. The scruff of his beard, now a few days grown out, pricked the tips of your fingers. His freckles splashed across his face like a night sky shining full of stars. Your thumb ran over his plush lips as they willingly parted for you, taking in a shuddering breath.
Pulling his mouth to yours, you crashed into each other. Your lips were hungry and desperate to know each other fully. Jensen pounced from the kneel to straddling over you. As he did, you fell back into the mattress, the comforter and sheets enveloping you. He followed you down, his lips never parting from yours. His hand cradled the back of your neck, pushing you further into him. Your hands wove through his hair, matching his fever. The boundaries of where you ended and he began blurred as you entwined together.
His hips rolled against your core. The towel gave way and rose as he continued the movement. The rough denim scraped against your soft heat. A wordless praise formed on your lips, allowing his claiming kiss further passage. Tongues danced together as your hips surged to meet his hardening length. His lips trailed down your neck, taking the delicate skin between teeth.
“Jensen.” You softly cried, one hand pressing him closer against your throat. The other winding down his shoulder and gripping as if he alone could save you from drowning.
He pulled away, his hips pinning yours as he sat. Momentarily, you both gasped for shallow breaths. Dire to know his skin against yours, you frantically went for the buttons of his denim shirt. He matched your frenzy. As you both fumbled, chuckling sheepishly at the graceless effort, his impatience grew, and in one fell swoop over his head, he had it off. A simple silver chain revealed itself underneath. Somehow, both opposite and similar to yours in every way. Like the sun and moon guiding the earth both day and night.
Jensen didn’t stop there. Rapidly, he went to undo his belt, and you were right behind him, undoing the button of his black jeans. His lips had been too long apart from yours, and he leaned back down to reclaim them. The cool metal of the chain brushed against your skin, still warm from the shower. His lips didn’t last long in one spot, familiarizing themselves with the taste of your neck. Heightened awareness of every touch, every movement, you could feel Jensen slowly pushing his pants down. Soon, nothing would separate you. Yet, somehow, you still managed to find logic.
“Jensen?”
“Hmm?” He hummed into your neck.
“Condom?”
He stopped. Fuck. But your panting hardly ceased.
“I didn’t plan for this.” He explained, laced with apology.
And why would you have expected him to? You certainly hadn’t. His eyes met yours again, sorrowfully, but knowing you’d have to wait to fully savor each other.
“I’m clean.” You offered.
Okay, so maybe logic wasn’t as fully present as you thought.
“Same.” He echoed.
You pulled him back down, and his hand snaked up your bare thigh to your hip, bracing his weight over you.
He paused again and, looking at you, searching for sincerity. “Birth control?”
You shook your head no. “Morning after pill?”
He nodded his head, settling for the alternative.
Your fingers settled on the waistband of his briefs. But you paused before going any further—Jared’s words ringing in your head.
“NDA?” You asked, still unsure what those details would entail.
His eyes rolled, thinking it over, but came to a satisfying conclusion. “We can backdate it.”
You nodded, and he grinned, both sighing from relief at the reasonable resolutions. He was ready, as were you. This was it. His hand went for the towel that separated your chest from him.
A knock on the door sounded. He stopped before you were revealed. You clutched the towel against your chest and shimmied it down to cover your bottom half in case the intruder would burst in at any moment—another knock.
“Shh,” Jensen instructed you as if whoever it was would be fooled to look elsewhere for him.
The red numbers of the clock burned into your vision. Thirty minutes had already passed. Time had sped up in your brief moments together. He was late.
“Jensen. Open up.” Clif’s voice called from the other side. “I know you’re in there.”
“Say something.” He whispered in your ear with a mischievous goad.
“I’m already in enough trouble with him as it is.” You hissed back.
Jensen licked his bottom lip and leaned down to stroke the base of your neck with his tongue. A hand rubbed over your breast, your nipples already hard for his devotion. A silent curse caught in the back of your throat as your hips lurched against him. Even though you knew exactly what he was doing, he won.
“He’s not here!” You called out to Clif. “‘Only me!”
“Don’t you dare start covering for him, Y/N,” Clif warned from the other side of the door.
Jensen’s thumb circled the fabric around the peak of your breast. Your eyes rolled back, fully intoxicated.
“I have a key!” Clif threatened as a last straw.
Jensen stopped, collapsing against you. “Fuck,” He worked to catch his breath. “Alright, alright. I’m coming!” He yelled at the door.
He sat up, still straddling you, and assessed the state of the moment. You panted, breasts straining against the towel. Jensen looked around and grabbed his shirt.
“Now, Jensen!” Clif’s irritation was building.
“Give it a minute.” He responded with a crack in his voice, pulling his shirt over his head.
“You. Stay.” Jensen paused between each word to plant a kiss in his favorite spots thus far. “Right. Here.”
The sheets rustled as he parted from the bed. His belt clattered as he readjusted his pants, taking breaths as he strained himself back in. His teeth gritted as the zipper uncomfortably contained him. Careful to keep yourself covered, you rose. You didn’t want to be the sole reason Jensen backed out of autographs altogether.
“I will be back as soon as I can.” He assured breathlessly.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself.” You teased. “You still owe me a date.”
He shook his head at you, ready to wipe that smirk off your face.
“Jensen!”
He clicked his teeth and shot you with a finger gun before hoping and rushing to the door.
“I know, I know.” You overheard him making up an excuse to Clif as both their voices faded before the door snapped shut.
You flopped back down on the bed and sighed, wondering if you would ever come down from the high.
The main lobby’s fountain trickled in a constant stream, immersing you in your book as if you were in the aquarium with the characters Tova and Marcellus. As with the title Remarkably Bright Creatures, it would be remarkable if you finished this book on this trip as you originally intended, but perhaps you would find time on the plane ride home. The plane ride that was coming so soon and you had avoided thinking about so far. The crisp pages flipped between your fingers.
A figure approached, but you were engrossed in Marcellus’ narrative.
“You are not where I left you.” A stern voice disdainfully scolded.
In shock, you nearly jumped out of the seat but smiled widely upon finding Jensen towering over you.
“And in far more clothing than I had hoped.” He kept his voice very low as your surroundings were far from private.
Your tongue peaked out between your teeth. “I found it prudent to visit a convenience store.” You winked. “How were autographs?”
“Good, good.” He stated. “Lots of congratulations and questions about you.”
You shoved a postcard between the pages before closing the book and giggled. “What did you say?”
Jensen shoved his hands into his pockets. “I said nothing is official. I still have to take you on a date and pop the question.”
You pinched your lips together, eyeing the clock on the stone wall behind him. It was already later than anticipated. The earlier rendezvous had not aided the timing. Jensen adjusted a cuff on his shirt.
“You know, we could circumvent the formalities and skip ahead to finish what we started.” You suggested parting your legs slightly as if to remind him. “We can hash out the details later.”
“Y/N?”
“Yes, Jensen?”
He rubbed a hand over the scruff of his jaw. “Will you be my girlfriend?’
“I think you already know the answer.”
Jensen held out his hand to you. “Then let’s get the hell upstairs.”
You eagerly took it as he pulled you up.
“There he is!”
The exclamation broke your trance as two hands came from behind, slapping Jensen on the chest, knocking the wind from him.
“I’ve been looking all over for you.” The hands shook Jensen, and then from behind, none other than Misha Collins stepped out from behind him. “All the fansies are talking about how you, my friend, are a fish caught on a hook. Which we all already knew, but she finally reeled you in, eh?”
Jensen rolled his eyes. “Misha, this is Y/N.”
“Oh my god!” Misha pulled you into a tight embrace, producing a huff from your lungs. “Y/N! I’ve been waiting so long for this.” He pulled you back to inspect you further. “Ever since Nashville. You should have stayed for the convention. If you could have seen him…” Misha chuckled. “Oh, you must tell me about your time with Nesnej.”
You felt like an overstimulated cat. “Nesnej?” You weren’t sure you heard him correctly.
“Jensen backwards. It’s what we call him when he gets wasted out of his fucking mind. But you can tell me all about it on the way to the after-party. Are you ready? Let’s go.” He linked his elbow through yours and dragged you out through the lobby.
“Mish,” Jensen grabbed his shoulder. “I think we’re going to call it a night.”
Misha linked his elbow through Jensen too. “Don’t be ridiculous. We’re going to Golden; it’s going to be, well, golden.”
Before you knew it, cast and crew alike had piled into two hotel shuttles and headed west. Either by accident or, as you suspected, conniving scheming, Misha coaxed you into a van separate from Jensen. Ruth, Rob, and Briana were present, along with some crew. Much to Misha’s encouragement, they playfully interrogated you, ensuring you wouldn’t be one to break Jensen’s heart and worthy of his affection.
Misha commandeered the van and made a pit stop at a party store, filling two coolers with drinks. You were confused as you assumed you’d be traveling to a bar, but maybe he was picking up drinks for a second after-party. Luckily, you used this opportunity to purchase a Red Bull, not knowing if you’d stay conscious much longer without it. The confusion only built as you turned from commercial businesses to residential homes. Winding around the roads, you had lost all sense of direction.
“There.” Misha pointed ahead to the white van that had arrived minutes before you, thanks to the drink detour.
People spilled out of the van to join those waiting in the street. Jensen parted from Jared and was quick to find you among the crowd. Misha and Clif came out from around the trunk, each with a cooler. Jensen surveyed the area, just as lost as you were.
“You showing us your summer home, or what?” Jensen directed at Misha.
The full moon and headlights illuminated Misha’s smile. “When have I ever given you the impression I’d be that borning?”
“Then what are we doing out here?” Ruth chirped in. “All I wanted tonight was a dry martini in one hand and a karaoke microphone in the other.”
Apparently, Misha had left it a surprise to everyone. Misha shoved the cooler into Jensen’s hand and fished through a fanny pack, pulling out a flashlight. He clicked it on under his face as if he were going to tell a ghost story.
“We, my friends, are going on a night hike.” He squeed with excitement at the end.
There was a mixture of groans and whoops of excitement. Your heart sank, and your legs whined in protest. The Red Bull wasn’t going to cut it. Jensen saw the defeatedness in your eyes.
“Hey, we can stay back.” He whispered lowly to you.
“You could have warned us to dress for the occasion.” Briana looked down to her leather pants and heels.
Misha addressed the naysayers. “Stop it. It’s thirty minutes at most to the top and probably worth it. Now, the trailhead should be around here, ah!”
Misha meandered to the trailhead between a break in the fence, consulting his paper map and the posted signs. Some snapped a picture of the sign, not that it would do much good if you got lost in the dark.
“Don’t let him pressure you into it if you're not feeling it,” Jensen advised. “You gotta set boundaries with him.”
“Jensen,” Jared called back, already starting at the base of the trail. “You coming, man?”
You sighed. You weren’t sure what you had done to cause Jared to be so cold with you earlier. He was probably just tired or jetlagged, but you wouldn’t give him another reason to resent you further. You nodded your head in their direction and started off. Jensen followed in tow, not missing the fact that he got conned into lugging the cooler.
“Y/N,” Misha called and backtracked so he could walk by you. He threw an arm over your shoulder. “As I said earlier, I run this little scavenger hunt called Gishwhes.”
“Oh,” You cut him off. “That is how you pronounce it.”
“You’ve heard of it!” He exclaimed. “Great. I’m always looking for creative…”
Jensen chuckled as the two of you left him in the dust. He didn’t know whether he should be more concerned about Jared’s hostility towards you or Misha’s immediate adoption. Jared, he could work on; he was convinced. Jared simply needed to get to know you. Over time, he’d come to see you as Jensen did. He was just being overly brotherly, thinking he was protecting Jensen. They’d both been that way for each other before. Misha, on the other hand. With Misha’s prompting, the two of you would become an unstoppable tornado of mischievous chaos. And, depending on how it ended, Misha could end up more heartbroken than he.
“Tired?” Clif asked, pulling Jensen from his thoughts.
“Just waiting to make sure you don’t get left behind.” Jensen readjusted his grip on the cooler.
“Shut up.” Clif snipped and passed Jensen.
The climb to the top went faster than expected, either from Misha’s ceaseless conversation or the pressure that you felt you needed to keep up with him. Thankfully, South Table Mountain was a foothill compared to what you tackled this morning. There was a steep incline for a moment that wasn’t your favorite, but the struggle quickly subsided as the trail evened out. You had no idea of your surroundings in the dark, but the trail seemed to end as the group spilled out onto rocky terrain overlooking the city of Golden. The soft glow of lights pulsed below, and to the east, you could make out a sleepy Denver. Above, stars hung in the navy-hued sky and dipped below the shadows of the mountains to the west.
“Two drinks per person,” Misha called over the crowd. “I mean it. Nesnej,” He pointed. “I’m looking at you. I don’t need anyone tumbling off the plateau.”
Jensen placed the cooler down before throwing his hands up in feigned offense. Someone took out a Bluetooth speaker and started an Oasis album. Cans of beer cracked open, and there was a dank smell. A spark of embers clued into the scent’s source, though the owner was too far away to make out. Honestly, the more you felt out of place among this group, the more appealing a puff or two sounded. You would have to remember to bring your stash next time. For emergency purposes only. Suppose there would even be a next time.
Jensen was slapping shoulders with friends and coworkers, celebrating the end of another successful con and blowing off steam before diving back into his demanding work schedule. Jared’s figure stood out in the crowd. Even in the dark, you could see his towering presence. As he went for a drink alone, you sought your chance, determined to try again.
“Hey,” You rushed to the cooler, grabbing something inside for yourself. “How’d the weekend turn out for you?”
Open-ended, no assumptions, showing interest. It was a well-crafted question that would hopefully prompt further conversation. You were close enough to him that you could feel his eyes roam. Not as Jensen’s had earlier. No, this felt like he was sizing you up. But you held your ground, not ready to roll over and submit.
Jared cracked his beer. “Yeah, it was fine.”
Still cold. So, the impression you got earlier was accurate. That’s okay. Thanks to Jensen frequently talking about him, you were full of questions and conversation starters that might spark some common ground.
“Any plans for the rest of the week, or are you headed back to Vancouver quickly?”
“Y/N? Was it?” Jared asked, and you nodded. “Listen, I appreciate your effort for small talk and the distraction you are providing Jensen, but let’s not pretend this isn’t what it is.”
A pit dropped in your stomach. What had you done to offend him? You were going to ask him to elaborate his statement further, but he called over for Mark and went to join another group, leaving you alone. You looked around and had lost sight of Jensen. You searched for another familiar face but then realized you didn’t know any of these people. Not truly. You were the outsider. Your chest tightened, and your breaths became shallow. You tried to remind yourself you were very tired, and that was likely not helping your emotional state. You could have misread things with Jared as you had this whole week with Jensen. But you weren’t able to convince yourself. You needed space; you needed to breathe.
A while had passed when heavy footsteps approached you from behind, unsettling the dust beneath them. Jeans rustled as the figure sat beside you, legs dangling off the plateau's edge. You knew it was Jensen instantly. Maybe from a combination of his closeness, his scent, or how the panic subsided in his presence.
“I couldn’t find you.” He said, concerned. “What are you doing over here all by yourself?”
You sighed and leaned into him. You didn’t want to cause a rift between him and Jared. So, you let go of the heaviness and focused on the positive.
“Admiring the view.”
Jensen didn’t buy it. “Of the Coor’s factory?”
It was a beautiful sight, lighting the world below you. You could barely hear the factory's low hum over the group's music and chatter.
You chuckled and mumbled into his shoulder. “You sound like some kind of beer snob saying it like that.”
He wrapped an arm around you, drawing you closer to him. He took a sip of beer and let out a fake hack.
“You know what, you might be right.” He finally admitted. “This shit taste like La Croix's newest flavor. Essence of hops and bread.”
You chuckled again, but it was half-hearted and defeated.
Jensen’s brow knit together. “Are you okay?”
“I’m just so tired.” You whined.
“That’s right. You’ve had a long day, which I still need to hear about. In particular, a few texts, buddy.” He snipped out that last word.
It finally clicked. “Oh, shit. That’s why you think I friend-zoned you. Cause I used the word buddy? Sensitive much?”
“That and how you thanked me for kissing you like you wanted to let me down but didn’t know how.” He explained. "I am a Pisces, after all."
“Mmhmm.” You hummed, not buying that he believed his own excuse. “Will you let me try again?”
He inhaled sharply, the starlight reflected in his eyes, before pressing his mouth against yours.
You pulled away. “Thank you.” You moaned, completely satisfied.
He huffed a laugh and breathed deeply as he kissed you again, constricting his arms around you. You could taste the yeast of the beer on his lips. As you drank in the other, the crowd disappeared around you, transported to the same fever as hours before.
“Fuck, Y/N.” He breathed out.
You smiled against his lips. “Thank you.”
“Wait until we get back, I'll properly thank you.” He placed his lips below your ear, and you arched into him.
“Save it for the hotel.” Someone yelled over the crowd, and someone followed it up with a catcall and a, “Get it, Jensen!”
You scooched away from him as lava flooded your face.
“Mind your business,” Jensen shouted back and then scooted to you so there was no distance. “Don’t be embarrassed; they’re only having fun.”
But the moment was over, and you went back to swinging your feet back and forth off the ledge, avoiding his gaze by picking out constellations in the sky.
You pointed. “There’s the two dippers and the W,” You traced with your fingers, “That’s Cassiopeia. It’s too bright to see, but Andromeda should be right there.”
“Oh.” You both said in unison as a white flash streaked across the sky, disappearing behind the shadow of a mountain.
“Make a wish.” Jensen prompted.
His smile warmed the air around you.
“I wish for the contentedness of this moment to always stay with me.” You nudged his leg with yours. “You?”
“I wish for this.” And he kissed you again.
You didn’t last long on the ride back to the hotel. Jensen refused to part from your side again. You leaned your head on his shoulder and closed your eyes. The jostling of the van lulled you to sleep against him—his words echoing in your ears. I wish for this.

Vander x Reader-Some Much Needed Comfort
Tumblr media
Warnings-Periods, blood, embarrassment
I hope you all enjoy this! Thank you so much @barbersjoy for this request
Arcane Masterlist / Vander Masterlist
“Morning, my love,” Vander whispered sleepily in Y/n's ear. Y/n was already awake even though her eyes were still closed and the sound of his sleep filled voice sent shivers down her spine.
“Good morning,” she whispered back, turning slightly to face him, with a small smile on her face.
Though that smile soon faded when she felt an all too familiar pain.
“What’s wrong?” Vander asked, the look on Y/n's face, panicking him and waking him up almost instantly.
Y/n lifted the duvet of the bed up slightly, while sitting up, allowing her to see a small amount of blood covering the sheet of the bed under her.
“Fuck,” she mumbled, embarrassment washing over her as she tried to work out what to do.
This just made Vanders worry increase, as he too sat up in bed, “Y/n?”
“Period,” she answered quietly, not daring to meet Vanders eyes, terrified that he was going to be mad at her for getting blood on the sheets.
Vanders eyes softened as he leaned over to her, placing a kiss on the side of her head before getting up from the bed.
“Where are you going..?” She asked, her fears continuing to fester away in her brain.
“To run you a bath,” he replied warmly, disappearing into the bathroom.
~~~~
When Y/n returned from the bathroom, she noticed the sheets had been changed, and that her favorite snacks were on the nightstand next to the bed, along with a glass of water and some pain medication.
“Sorry love, I didn’t know what you’d want so I got everything I could think of,” Vander cooed in her ear, wrapping his arms around her waist as he placed a soft kiss on the side of her head once again.
“You didn’t have to-,” Y/n began, in complete awe that he had done this for her. No one else she had ever been with would’ve done this, especially not after getting blood on the sheets. But here Vander was, being an absolute sweetheart.
“Of course I did,” he interrupted, squeezing her waist lightly.
“I’m sorry about the sheets,” Y/n mumbled, leaning back against Vanders large frame.
“Don’t worry about it, darl,” he whispered in her ear, sensing the unease in her voice. He knew her, probably better than he knew anybody else, so he knew the thoughts that were already flying around in her brain. But he truly meant what he said. He didn’t want her to worry about any of it. This was all natural, he knew that and it didn’t bother him in the slightest, “You don’t need to apologise for anything.”
~~~~
Y/ns period was not playing any games today; it was the first day and it was certainly the most painful period she’d had in months.
She felt tired, sick, hungry, hormonal and the cramps were near unbearable.
It just wasn’t going to be a good week, this was only the first day. She knew that the pain was going to get a lot worse before it got better.
A sigh left her lips as she walked up the stairs towards the bustling bar, forcing a smile onto her face as she opened the door, the sound of laughter and chatter filling the room.
“What are you doing down here?” Vander asked, before Y/n could move more than two steps away from the door.
“I’ve got to work Vander,” was all Y/n said, attempting to get past Vander. Not that she got very far.
He could see how much pain she was in and the last thing he wanted to do was put her under any unnecessary stress.
“You’re in pain,” he whispered, lightly grabbing her wrist, halting her steps.
“I’m fine,” she protested, her stubbornness taking over. The bar was already getting busy and Y/n wanted to help, though she couldn’t deny the pain she was in.
She just wanted to sleep.
“Go back to bed, darl, I can handle tonight,”
“The bars already half full,”
“I’ll be able to handle it,” Vander assured her, capturing her lips in a quick kiss before she could argue with him about it.
“Are you sure…?” She mumbled against his lips. She felt awful about leaving him on his own, but he had been running this bar for a long time on his own so she knew that he could handle it, easily.
“Of course I’m sure, now, go back to bed and get some rest,” he ordered gently, giving her another quick kiss before heading back to the bar as Y/n headed back to bed.
~~~~~
Vander carefully opened the door to his and Y/ns bedroom, quietly beginning walking over to the bed, trying not to wake her.
As he got a little closer towards the bed, he heard Y/n whisper, “It’s okay I’m awake”
Without wasting any time Vander quickly walked over to the bed, wondering if she’d gotten any sleep at all.
“How’re you feeling, love,” he asked softly, sitting down on the edge of the bed, his hand caressing her cheek softly.
“Tired and in pain,” she mumbled back, leaning into his warm touch. Y/n wanted nothing more than for the pain to stop and to get some sleep. Y/n wished she could say that the reason she wasn’t already asleep was because of the noise that was coming from the bar, but that was a lie. Even after she’d taken some pain medication she still couldn’t drift off. No matter what she did, she couldn’t get comfortable in her bed, not only were her period cramps causing her great discomfort but her back ached and however she tried to lie in bed just made the aching worse.
“This month is really doing a number on ya, huh?”
Vander knew that every month was different for Y/n, sometimes she’d barely be in any pain at all, and then there were times like this.
He just wished he could take the pain away from her, he hated seeing her like this knowing that realistically there wasn’t anything he could really do to ease the pain.
“And it’s only the beginning,”
“Come here,” Vander cooed; lightly tugging Y/n's hand as she crawled into his lap. Not only was Vamder quite a large man, he was also hot, kind of like a human furnace.
“This feel a bit better?” He asked, in a quiet tone as his hands rested softly along her stomach and pelvis, the warmth of his hands easing the cramps she was experiencing.
“Mmmmhmmm,” was all Y/n could answer as she leaned back against him, Vander lit up his pipe as Y/n relaxed into him, her eyes slowly closing as she thought about how lucky she was to have Vander in her life.
And that’s where the two stayed, even after Y/n had drifted off to sleep. He couldn't bring himself to move her, he didn’t want to awaken her when she needed sleep the most.
So he just stayed there, with his one arm wrapped around her until sleep eventually took hold of him too.
SIGHT
I have a burned out spot on my retina. It happened years ago from aligning an HBO bulb on a microscope. I didn’t even know about it until I finally visited an eye doctor six years ago. The spot is in the lower right quadrant of my left eye, not really in my field of vision. The only time I notice it is there is when I have closed my eyes. My eyelids are not blackout curtains. So I see this kaleidoscope of tinted colors of darkness with the exception of one teeny tiny speck of complete dark, black, nothing. It’s like noticing a couple of pixels are out on the TV. That burnt spot on my retina is the best thing about closing my eyes. It becomes a point of focus during meditation. It is the center of my very own everything bagel and the second I close my eyes, I tune into that tiny speck of nothing.
Last Friday, my schedule opened up and made it possible to attend one of Roze’s yoga/meditation hammock classes. I got to class feeling like my brain was hot and staticky from some last minute issues I had to fix at work before leaving for the evening. The whole week had been a mental challenge of dealing with people who acted like they’d never seen a microscope before. I found my hammock and was chatting with Sarah and Leigh. At one point I said “Man, I wish I’d taken this stupid bra off before I came to class.” and Leigh said “Take it off. No one cares. The bathroom is that way.” I said I don’t need a bathroom and then proceeded to take off my bra without taking of my shirt and then I sighed with relief. I spun the bra around the top of my head like a lasso as all the women cheered. We all had a good laugh and then settled into class.
Roze started us off with some gentle movement before getting us comfy for guided meditation. I snuggled down into my hammock and pulled my blanket up over my face. I closed my eyes and focused on my void of nothing spot. Then Roze started playing with a rain stick. When I first heard it, I thought it was a car crashing into the building and I almost yelled out “THERE’S A CAR CRASHING INTO THE BUILDING!” But I didn’t. I told Roze this story a few days later and she responded with concern. I assured her that it was fine. I told her that the second I realized it was the rain stick, I started giggling. I told Roze “I laugh at fear.” which she though was a ‘juicy’ response. I don’t know if it’s juicy or just instinct.
I’m not condoning running out and burning spots on to your retinas. We just were not as concerned about lab safety fifteen years ago or at least where I worked was not that concerned. Robin and I wore flip flops and climbed around on cabinets to reach things on the top shelf. That behavior would be highly frowned upon today, but I file it into the same folder as ‘before seatbelts’ and ‘bicycle helmet?’. I learned to walk on hard brick floors with pointy edges all around me. My car seat was sitting on the armrest between the driver and passenger seat of my mom’s car. Mom’s arm was my seatbelt. Safety gear was not a thing. Many of you reading this can probably relate. We all grew up, flying down a hill while balancing on the handle bars of a sibling’s bicycle. Our childhoods did not have soft padding and it didn’t stop many of us from being the one to volunteer for the handle bar seat.
I have so many scars, so many markings of being broken and healed. Some of these scars are visible, but many like the one on the inside of my lip and the spot on my retina are scars just for me. The secret scars that I don’t have to explain or answer questions about. Good lord, you should see the scars on my heart. Those hidden ones on my heart are my favorite ones. They were earned and received just after great bouts of laughter and joy.When Chris was sick, we were terrified, but still joking about the tortilla chip stuck in his liver. The last time I talked to J, we were joking about Dad’s haircut. The last real visit with Dad, he joked about Michael and I’s living situation. In fact, I am positive if the wounds that led to those scars had not been proceeded by a ridiculous amount of laughter, those scars would barely be visible to even me. The loss of sources of great amounts of laughter and joy leaves the deepest scars.
So I laugh at fear because what difference does another scar make.
Part one. Master list for plus one can be found here.
Just a nice fic I decided to write for fun. Please enjoy!
Tumblr media
Asshole!
He was nothing but a huge, giant fucking ASSHOLE for the entire two years the two of you were dating and he decides NOW is a good time to break up with you?
Two days before your cousin's wedding and over TEXT MESSAGE?!
That fucking asshole.
He knew how you felt. Exactly how you felt about going alone to your cousin's wedding after your family begged to meet your boyfriend and teased you for "probably making him up." Which hell, he may as well have been made up considering how absent he was in the relationship. Using work as an excuse to come home late but forgetting to turn off his snap location when he showed up at the bar.
So you did what any rational woman in her upper twenties would do.
You drowned your sorrows in booze, tonight red wine as it was the only thing around, and you scrolled through your socials in hopes of distracting yourself from your suffering.
Alas the devil that is Instagram only amplified your sadness and irritation. Showing couple after couple, your friends on hikes kissing on the mountain top, kissing in the flickering light of candles at a fancy dinner or, worst yet, getting proposed to. The video showing her in hysterics screaming, "YES I DO I DO!"
And it feels terrible to feel this way. Especially about your friends, the people you love and want to support, still it stings. You hadn't told anyone about the breakup, you weren't even sure your friends even remembered that asshole's name.
A teardrop lands on your screen, magnifying all the magical lights of the led beneath the glad. You wipe away the tear and with that the feed refreshes. A new post has come in at the top, Res Riot's official account.
Kirishima stands with a fat white cat in his arms. He dwarfs the animal with his large stature that looks larger as he still has his Red Riot gear on. The caption reads something along the lines of "missed my precious baby."
Red wine is a dangerous thing as your body acts on its own. You go to his page to hit the little arrow to DM him. Typing out and backspacing your message as you struggle from the booze, you decide to say fuck it and use the voice memo feature. Before you know it your sniffling voice is playing back to you after you've hit send.
"My ex broke up with me before this stupid wedding. It's in two days and my family is going to roast me big time when I show up alone. They think I made that asshole up. I don't know why I'm even in your dms. Your account is probably run by some dick head who can't even capture your kindness. I guess I'm here cause my first thought seeing you on my timeline was Red Riot has always been my hero…"
Ugh totally fucking cringe.
There is no surprise as you see the three normally ominous dots pop up, probably his social media manager about to ask you to stop your "advances" as Kirishima is too busy to date and he'd hate to block you or some other bullshit.
But there it is a surprise to see a little bubble with the play button and some vertical lines in various heights. It takes your sluggish brain a moment to realize you've been sent a voice memo. Odd. Your thumb smashes the screen faster than you can think and a deep voice rumbles through the speakers of your phone.
"Actually I run my official and personal socials. And I'm sorry to hear about your ex doll. He sounds like a real ass. I'll be your hero, I'll go with you to the wedding."
Your heart stutters, no way, no way in HELL this was Red Riot. You had read about the horror stories before or pervy account managers taking advantage of women who so desperately wanted to talk to their hero.
Hell, it's happened to Dynamight plenty of times.
You swallow quickly but the bile rushes up your throat. Not just from the anxiety of a possible con but from drinking an entire bottle of wine with nothing on your stomach after months of sobriety. Quickly you stumble to the bathroom, abandoning your phone on your bed. You barely make it in time to praise the porcelain Gods before you fall onto your back. Looking up at the light in your cramped bathroom, the orb doubles and spins as you feel the Earth turning on its axis. You curl into your side using your bathmat as a pillow as you drift off into sleep, totally forgetting about the voice memo on your phone.
As you sleep peacefully on your memory foam bath rug, Kirishima settles into his nightly routine. One giant hand grabbing strands of long dark red hair into a towel while another sits snugly around his Adonis belt and the thick, black happy trail that follows up the center of his abs before spreading out onto his chest. He tosses the towel over the open door of the bathroom before sitting in his favorite armchair with phone in hand. Diamond, his beautiful white cat he rescued a few years ago, jumps onto the arm of the chair, purring loudly when Kirishima's free hand scratches her ears absentmindedly.
He chuckles to himself as he realizes exactly what he's done. Acting on a feeling instead of logic all because he heard a "damsel in distress." Starting off his rare vacation with spontaneity starting with an impromptu date with a stranger. He really isn't sure what you look like and it's obvious your handle doesn't have your real name in it, just PrincessPeach with some random numbers at the end. He takes the time to scroll through your profile. Seeing pictures of food, of many sunsets, a friend's dog that guest appears often, your own cat and plenty of strays.
It takes him a while before he sees a photo of you. His heart stutters in his chest as he looks you over. Laughing with a friend, soft lighting from strings over head that blur like little fireflies. Your smile is wide, half hidden by your hands as your eyes seem to smile with you. Sparkling as if they held stars.
For a moment Kirishima forgets how to breathe, it isn't until Diamond jumps down from the armchair does he inhale. He smiles softly to himself before he drops his towel, puts his phone on charge and promptly falls asleep in his bed.
Kirishima rises before the sun even has a chance to filter through his blinds. He sighs softly, getting up to a sitting position disturbing a fluffy white ball that lays beside him.
"Mmrow." Moon stone eyes blink slowly as they look at the mountainous man hogging the bed.
"I didn't mean to wake you sweet baby." He says softly, going to pet the soft white fur only for her to get up stretch and give him her butt before plopping back down.
"I know, mean ol' daddy woke you up too early again." He says softly, his hand falling onto her back before he rises from the bed. Fishing for his running shorts, socks, headphones and shoes. He makes his protein shake, leaning on the counter as he drinks it, looking at how you read, or better yet, listened to his message but still no reply. It was late and there was a small slurring of your words, he figures you've passed out. He just hopes you're okay.
His run goes as usual, up before anyone else unless they were the normal avid runner. Passing by the usual array of people. An old man holding onto his youth by jogging through his daily five mile morning run, Kirishima knows he runs another five in the evening while the sun is setting. He hopes he can embody some of this man's commitment when he is older. Then he passes a middle aged woman, who gives him the biggest smile as she pases, jogging backward to send him a wink before plowing ahead. Occasionally he'll see a running group or a few teens training to be heroes, they always ask if they can run his route. "It's long." He always warns in a kind, warm voice. They assure him they will be fine so far only one other person could handle his 12 mile morning run. A young woman in her second year of hero courses at UA. Since then Kirishima put in a word with his boss and so every time internships roll around she's in the office.
By the time Kirishima is rounding back towards his high rise apartment, the city begins to stir. Slowly waking as men and women in business suits rush towards the train, parents flinging open the doors or curtains fussing at their children who cling to an extra few minutes of sleep before school.
This was always his favorite part of the run, not because it was almost over, oh no it was because he had a chance to glimpse at everyday life. Of nine to fives, of school hours and after school hangs outs at snack bars or the library.
What most would call the mundane but Kirishima would never call it that. It's why he worked so hard to protect it.
Diamond greets his sweaty form at the door. Glaring angrily with her moon stone eyes. Tail swishing before she goes to the kitchen by her bowl. Waiting impatiently.
"I'm not late, sweet cheeks." He coos, and she glares, "I know I know. You're hungry now."
He opens the fridge, gets out the highest quality food there is and places it on her dish, sure to keep it all in the middle or she'll claim her bowl was empty. He added a splash of water too since the weather was starting to get hot.
He sucks down a water or two, demolishes a protein bar and then heads to the apartment gym.
A few hours roll by and without hearing from you yet his worry over your well being begins to cloud the forefront of his mind. He pauses his music, picks up his phone and talks out a voice memo.
A loud DING echoes from your room and around your skull as you rise with a throbbing headache.
"Fuck." You hiss to yourself grabbing at your head as you shakily rise to your feet. Yanking the handle of the faucet to drink from the stream before looking at yourself in the mirror.
"Ugh." You grunt ignoring your swollen face and eyes, yanking the mirror door open to snatch at the bottle of aspirin. Swallowing THREE extra strength pills before slamming the door shut and turning off the faucet. You make your way towards your bedroom, more than ready to sleep the rest of your day away. Grabbing at your phone to charge it you see the push notification of an Instagram message from Red Riot.
The fucking Red Riot.
Internally you scream before it bubbles up your throat and escapes. You fumble to unlock your phone before looking that it's a voice memo.
Mortified you realize you sent one too. And first at that.
"Fuck MEEE!" You plop onto the bed. Nervous this second voice memo is probably about how you're a weirdo or something as you relive the memory of asking him to be your plus one.
Hesitantly your thumb hovers over the play button before you find the strength to press the cool glass. A soft thunderous voice plays out.
"Good morning sleepy head. I haven't heard from you yet, I hope you're okay. Be sure to drink some water and eat something greasy. Trust me, late nights with Denki and Bakugou taught me something. Since the wedding is tomorrow I'll need a picture of your dress for the color and style so I can match you Sweet pea. Contact me soon so I can know where to pick you up."
Did he… did he just call you SWEET PEA? Your heart pounds in your chest before it registers he's asked for your dress color and lowkey asked for your address. This couldn't be real. It sounded like Kirishima, his voice familiar from interviews you've watched but it very well could be a prank. Defeated you hit the small microphone and reply.
Kirishima hears a sharp DING in his headphones over his music as he finishes his set. He wipes the sweat from his face on his shirt giving the few people in the gym a lovely view of his sweaty and thick torso. One woman trips on the treadmill but it goes unnoticed by Kirishima. He pauses his music and hits play on the little memo. Your beautiful yet groggy voice comes in through his ear buds causing Kirishima to bite his lip. It causes such a flutter of butterflies in his stomach he has to listen a second time to actually hear what you said. Although he understand, he cannot help but feel hurt by your reply.
"How do I know you're not just some pervy guy using Kirishima's Godly looks to prey on unsuspecting people."
Your phone chirps at you from the bed stand and you growl reaching for it. You had hoped your message would have been clear. An unspoken of you know they're a fucking creep taking advantage of their PR job.
"What can I do to prove it to you, Sweet Pea?"
You hate how that cute nickname sends your heart into a somersault and your stomach in delightful knots. Still your doubt pulls a harsh tut from your lips before you reply.
Kirishima doesn't need his phone to alert him that you've messaged him, he's been looking at his screen for far to long without having to restart his set. He listens to your voice as if it were music.
"Fine, you wanna prove it to me so bad. Take a picture of yourself shirtless with the word 'Sweet pea' you love so much and send it to me. No photoshop I know what my favorite hero looks like!"
For over an hour you don't hear back and you figure you showed that perv.
But now you can't sleep so you nurse a water, door dash a "greasy" breakfast all before cranking your shower as high as it can go. Your phone dings and you try to ignore it. You really do but as the saying goes curiosity killed the cat. Opening the message you see a classic guy mirror selfie. Kirishima is clear as day in the photo, his large hand pointing to his bare, hairy chest where sweat pea is scrawled in his adorable handwriting. He winks at the camera as his kissable lips wear a dangerous, almost cocky eyes travel down his bulk following his happy trail that dives under a pair of black shorts, the best part of the view getting cut off by the vanity. At first you try to rationalize that this was fake but damning evidence was sitting on the vanity. A fluffy white cat in a diamond and ruby encrusted collar sits on the counter giving her owner an odd look.
His cat Diamond that everyone knows he loves and adores. Slick begins to collect between your thighs and especially so after you listen to the voice memo that comes through shortly after. His normally friendly and soft voice comes out a bit dark, husky as he says in a playfully annoyed tone.
"Now send me a picture of that dress, Sweet Pea."
oh, hey, there’s a bit of a marvel crossover in this too!
Tumblr media
Nervous doesn’t even begin to describe how you feel in this moment. Your stomach hasn’t been settled since you got the call two days ago. It’s been flipping and twisting ever since. Sleep hasn’t come easy either, but you’re used to that. Ever since Chris left, you haven’t slept well. It’s been almost seven hundred and thirty days— well, just three days short.
You follow the two tall military men, decked out in their dress blues, through the secure facility, your black leather combat boots thudding against the tile floors. Everything is white— the walls, the floors, the coats of all the scientists and doctors milling about— except for you and your flowery, thigh length sundress. Dark eyes wide, teeth nibbling on a sore, often bloody bottom lip from all the nibbling, small purse bouncing off one hip as a duffel bag bounces off the other.
Winding through corridor after corridor, pausing as the men lift their badges to keypads to get door after door to click open. An eerie quiet looms throughout the entire building, nothing but random beeps, your breathing, and footsteps.
Nervous doesn’t begin to describe it.
The walk gives you too much time to think about the last seven hundred and twenty seven days. All of the crying. All of the anger— the screaming. Chris trying to calm you down, assure you that they were okay— that he had to do this.
"It’s so easy for you, isn’t it?" You sobbed into the phone, staring up into the stars, knowing that he couldn’t but secretly hoping that he could see you.
"This is not easy for me," he choked back tears, his tongue heavy, "Leaving you is never easy but I have to do this, baby. We have to go back for Mark. We have to."
You didn’t answer his calls for over a week. And when you did, your words were quick and harsh.
"I can’t do this anymore. I’m moving in with my sister."
Chris was silent on the other end of the phone— too silent. He sighed after a while and just said, "Ok. I understand."
That was day four hundred and sixty three.
So you moved in with your sister. Got a job at the local bar, picked up every shift you could, sometimes working sixty, seventy hours a week— just so you didn’t have to think about him. It didn’t work. You’d still stare out the window at night, up into the big black sky and through the twinkling little stars, wondering where he was, what he was doing. If he was thinking about you.
Unbeknownst to you, Chris continued to call your sister. Just to check on you.
Day seven hundred was when two Air Force officers walked into the bar as you were cutting up lemons and oranges. Your stomach, in a perpetual state of tight and sour, dropped to your feet. It’s never good when the military comes knocking on your door.
“He’s dead,” you spit out, eyes watering, chest starting to heave, “He’s dead, isn’t he? They’re all dead.”
When they removed their hats, your hands flew to your face, covering your mouth to muffle the sobs. You just knew they were all dead. Humans can’t stay in space for this long. It’s not natural.
“No ma’am,” the taller, brown skinned man answered, a small smile breaking onto his face, showing off the distinctive gap between his two front teeth, “They’re back in our orbit. They’ll be landing within the next seventy two hours.”
It was a flurry after that. Phone calls, you moving back onto the base, protocol gatherings, interviews with local and national media. None of it mattered. You just wanted to see him— you needed to see him.
Not before his mandatory three week quarantine that is.
Day seven hundred and twenty five is when they called to let you know that he was ready to move onto the second phase of his integration back on earth. Two weeks cohabitating with another person of his choice, just to make sure that his body and cells can still tolerate, you know, earth— and that he doesn’t give off anything that could make earthlings sick.
They called to let you know that Chris chose you— if you wanted to, of course. If not, he could call his sister.
You were packing your bag before the call even ended.
After two days of getting tested for everything known to man, it’s now day seven hundred and twenty seven and here you are, passing through the last set of doors and stepping into a large observatory room. One of the General’s starts talking, but you don’t hear a word. You just blink slow, lips falling open as you stare back at Chris as he stands at the little square window of his living quarters. He smiles soft, running his hand through his short, dark hair before waving and placing his palm on the window.
Tears cloud your vision. Your chin trembles as a sad smile spreads on your face. A sob chokes in your throat and a warm tear streaks down your cheeks. Despite the talking man, you step up to the window and press your much smaller hand on the glass, spreading your fingers to match his. Chris rests his forehead to it and you do the same as you really start to bawl— shoulders shaking, face breaking, breath rushing fast and hard.
"Baby, don’t cry. Come on pretty, don’t— don’t cry."
Chris’ voice is muffled by the thick glass, but just hearing it— so close, so familiar— after so longs it’s just… it’s almost too much. It is too much.
“Ma’am, we can’t let you in there like this. We need you to calm down.”
Dense thuds shake the glass as Chris pounds on it, "Open the door, Sam!"
Sam grabs your bicep, gently, guiding you towards the door— Chris following you both, still talking to you through the glass.
"It’s okay baby, I’m right here. I’m right here."
“We need you to calm down,” Sam starts again, “He hasn’t been around—”
"Sam! Goddamn it, leave her alone! Open the door!"
“Beck! You cool it in there!”
"Don’t be an asshole! Open the door! She’s scared!"
You hear a scoff, “Step back from the window, Dr. Beck.”
"I swear to God—"
“Step back from the window, Dr. Beck.” Sam is stern now, pointing his finger towards Chris.
Sam pauses for a few long seconds, blinking slow but keeping his hand around your bicep— and thank God, because you honestly need it, “I’m going to badge you into the hallway, okay? You take this keycard,” he presses it into your palm, “And put it up to the keypad at the second door after I close this door behind you. It’s only good for one passthrough— once you’re in, you’re in until the medical staff clears you both. Understand?”
The second half of his speech is softer, his thumb rubbing the back of your arm. You like Chief Master Sergeant Sam Wilson. You nod quick, rubbing at your face with the back of your hand, sniffling hard and focusing a shaky breath out through your teeth as you step in front of the door. There’s a loud click and the metal pops, Sam reaching past you to push it open.
Your body, on autopilot, takes three steps to the second door, eyes staring at the keypad on the wall beside it. Chris is still talking to you through the windows, one hand pressed to the glass, the other on the door handle.
"Just a few more seconds baby. You’re doing so good."
There’s another click— Sam closing the door behind you. Water fills your eyes again, emotion choking up in your throat at the gravity of it all. All of the screaming. All of the crying. All of the hating him and loving him and missing him for seven hundred and twenty seven days all culminating right here, right now, while he’s just three feet away from you. The sky used to be the thing keeping you apart— now it’s just a wall. A door— that you can’t walk through.
"Baby, Chris says gently, "Come on baby. Open the door, honey."
You’re frozen. Eyes locked on the keypad, fingers gripping the keycard so hard they start to burn. Open the door, honey takes you back. Takes you back to the day that he told you he was going up— that he’d be gone for a year.
“Open the door, honey. Talk to me.”
“I don’t want to talk to you.” You sniffle, staring at your reflection in the mirror in your small bathroom.
“You knew this was coming. I don’t know why you’re so mad.”
“A year? A year, Chris? I’m just supposed to put my life on hold for you for an entire year?”
He sighs through the door, “I’ve worked my ass off for this, you know that.” You do know that, you’re just being selfish. Needy and selfish, “I know we’ve got plans baby, but it’s just a year. One year and then I’m all yours—”
“Yeah, until the next time you decide to go up there. This is what Melissa warned me about. You get addicted to it.”
“I won’t.”
“You will,” you retort, “I know you.”
That makes him laugh, and then you’re laughing because he’s laughing, “Open the door, please.” Chris sighs again.
As soon as you turn the knob, he’s pushing through it, lifting you up off your feet and twirling you around— to make you laugh again.
You were standing on a precipice that night and neither one of you knew it. Your lives, both individual and combined, would change forever and that was the night that set it all in motion.
The keycard digs into your fingers and palm, bringing you back into the present. Back into the hallway, back in front of Chris. You blink, linking eyes with him again, finding them soft and down turned, his head tilted as he presses his fingers to the glass.
"Let me hold you," he says soft. So soft that the glass between you gobbles it up. But you just know that’s what he said. You just know.
The door clicks in your ear, a breeze is in your face as Chris throws it open, and then you’re consumed. Arms wrapped around you, hard chest against yours as you’re lifted right off of your feet. He’s so warm— he’s always been so damn warm.
“Oh my god,” he whispers, leaning back a little as you push your face into his neck, “This moment was the only thing keeping me going.”
“I’m sorry,” you sob, pushing your face into his shoulder, your tears wetting his NASA sweatshirt, “I’m so sorry, I was so selfish,” the words are clipped and broken, heavy on your tongue, “Chris, I—”
“Don’t. Don’t do that, it doesn’t matter.” He sits you back on your feet, rubbing your back with both of his large hands, “I’m the one that should be sorry.”
You cry openly into his chest, wrapping your arms around him and pushing your hands up into his sweatshirt, under the thin t-shirt underneath— just to feel his skin, “I missed you so much.”
One, two, three, four pecks of his warm lips on the top of your head before he rests his cheek there, holding you tight as he takes a deep breath, “All that’s over now, hmm?” you can feel the smile on his face, “We don’t have to miss each other anymore.”
-
A yawn pushes out of your mouth as you stretch out tight, sore muscles screaming. Eyes flutter as you shift, another deep breath pushing out your nose as you nuzzle your face into the pillows, body cocooned in warmth. You’re drifting again, quick, when an abrupt panic races through your veins without warning. Your stomach drops, skin instantly flushing with heat as you spring up, eyes as wide as saucers as your breath rushes.
That’s when you hear it, an all too familiar sound. A pencil, tapping slowly, methodically, against something. It calms you instantly. It’s real, you’re real, Chris is real, and you’re here. He’s here.
You swing your legs over the edge of the small bed, tucked in the corner behind a small partition. There’s a soft light glowing underneath it and a single red blinking dot emanating from the corner of the room— a camera. You push your hair out of your face but keep your fingers on your cheeks, closing your eyes as you focus on your breathing. In, out, in, out, in, out. There’s a murmur, Chris mumbling to himself and you can’t help but smile.
You stand and start moving towards the noises, padding soft and slow as his mess of brown hair and hunched back comes into view. He stands, switching out an X-Ray on the viewer before he plops back down into the swivel chair, staring at it for a second before he starts flipping through the large, open text book just to his left. There’s a little white board off to the right, leaning against the wall, the days he’s been “gone”, seven hundred and twenty seven, scribbled in his messiest of messy handwriting.
The little slice of time watching him sends you right back to your college years, waking up in his dorm room, finding the bed empty and him huddled over a too small desk, furiously flipping through a thousand page text book. You’d sneak up on him, just as you are now, barely dressed and sleepy eyed. Dig your fingers into his hair, scratch his scalp slow. Giggle as his shoulders slump and his head falls back a little, him moaning all the while.
“God, that feels good.”
“You let me fall asleep.”
“You cried yourself to sleep. Didn’t have the heart to wake you… you look like you haven’t slept in a year.”
“Hmm, more like two. What are you doing?” you ask, pushing around his side and crawling into his lap, nuzzling into his shoulder.
“Looking at our X-Rays from earlier today. I’m working on another paper for the Institute.”
“Trying to see if you guys are still earthlings?”
He laughs, the sound rumbling through you, making you smile, “Kinda, yeah. Our body masses have changed dramatically— our bones are longer, I’m not shitting you.” You giggle again at the enthusiasm in his voice, “It’s just a few centimeters, but still. Our brain waves are a little different, metabolism has sped up… it’s incredible.”
You keep the small smile on your face as your fingertips drift over his chest, rubbing slow as you feel his eyes fall to you, “You should get back in bed,” he says, squeezing your knee gently, “You look so tired, baby.”
“Not without you.”
He laughs again, “My circadian rhythm’s all fucked up, I can’t sleep.”
“Then it looks like you're stuck with me,” you kiss his chin and then cuddle back into him, “Don’t mind me.”
Mind you, he doesn't. He just goes about flipping pages and scribbling down random thoughts, marking up his pile of x-rays and fumbling through his and the rest of the crew's medical charts. You push your hand up into the arm of his navy blue NASA sweatshirt, raking your nails up and down his forearm absentmindedly as you breathe him in. Your other hand wanders too, tracing the band of his dark sweatpants before skipping up into his sweatshirt, brushing over his stomach and up to his chest.
The pads of your fingers outline the muscles that are still there, his pecs, down and across his soft abs, before back up and over a cheeky nipple. He jumps slightly, crinkling his nose as he smiles big and hard, “Babe, I’m never gonna finish this work if you keep doing that.”
“Maybe that’s the point.”
“Oh, is that so?”
You bat two big eyes up at him, the weight of going almost two years without catching up with you right at this moment. A hum vibrates in your throat as you stand, taking a few steps away from him before you toss your eyes over your shoulder, licking your bottom lip before sinking your teeth into it. You hold out your hand, wiggling your fingers after a few moments, watching him drag his big eyes down your bare legs and then back up over your powder pink satin shorts and matching camisole.
“Come to bed, Dr. Beck.”
He’s up and on his feet before the words are out of your mouth. Warm fingers interlace with yours as the two of you move back towards the bed, falling onto the soft twin size mattress. His weight dips into the bed as he sinks his knees into it, pulling his sweatshirt over his head as you crawl towards the headboard. You draw your legs up, swaying them gently back and forth, palms flat on your thighs as you inhale deep, watching as he tosses his shirt to the floor.
The smile on your face grows larger as he crawls over you, pushing your legs open with his soft hands before he settles right between them. Chris takes his time looking at you, smiling soft as his eyes drift over your face, his index finger dragging down the bridge of your nose, over two full lips, and down your chin and neck. You let out a quick breath when the pad of that sneaky finger dips just inside your tank top— right into your cleavage.
He cups your face, his thumb resting on your lips, brushing gently, “I’m never leaving you again,” he whispers, blue eyes filling with earnest as they bounce between yours, “I mean it.”
You turn your head into his palm, pressing your lips into the soft, warm skin, planting kisses, “You promise?”
The delivery is breathless. Quiet. Small. Almost begging him to mean it. He takes a deep breath, pushes it out slow before leaning in, closing his eyes as he rubs the tip of his nose against yours. That’s when he kisses you— slow. Deep. Tongue pushing through your lips and into your mouth.  Massaging the roof of your mouth before sliding along your tongue. He even moans a little, lets his body— muscles, bones, brain— relax. Lets himself melt into you because it’s just been so damn long.
It ends slow, the kiss. Chris grabbing your lip with his teeth and pulling gently before he rests his forehead to yours. Eyes closed, his big, skilled hands and fingers flirting with your calves—pushing over your knees and then down your thighs to come to rest on your sides and hips.
“I promise.” You slide your hands up and down his sides, letting your eyelids flutter as he continues, punctuating his words with more gentle kisses, “We can start that life you’re so crazy about,” he laughs when you laugh and wrap your arms around his neck, “Buy you a house.”
“On the base?”
“I thought you didn’t like the base?”
“I don’t… but I kinda... do.”
“Then yeah, on the base if that’s what you want.”
Your eyes are still closed as hot lips press against your face— the crook of your nose, underneath one eye, cheeks, and then chin. You push your fingers up into his hair as he forges a path with his lips and tongue— down your neck, over two collarbones, down your arm— all the while his hands move upward. Up into your silk top, nimble fingers playing with two tight nipples before he rucks the silk top up to your chin.
“Wait,”
“What?”
“What about them?”
“Them, who?”
Pointing with your foot towards the blinking red light in the corner, “Them.”
He laughs and you laugh, covering your face with your hands until Chris pries them away, “They’re nerds, babe. We’ve already made them so nervous they’ve left the control room.”
You honestly can’t remember the last time you laughed this hard. Not since he left you suppose. It’s a nice sound, for both you and him, filling up the small space, making it alive and lived in instead of clinical and dry, “That’s not nice, Chris!”
He shimmies the thin material up over your head, casting it to the floor, “It’s the truth! I should know. Remember the first time I saw you naked? I couldn’t look anybody in the eye for a week.”
The memory makes you laugh, soft and dreamy-like, “That was so long ago.”
Chris catches the tone. It makes him halt, for just a second, his eyes shifting away from you. Guilt. For holding you at an arm’s length for so long. For making you number two. For making you wait for him for so damn long.
You tilt your head, eyes searching his. Gentle hands claim his face, pulling him back into your strong gaze, “Stay with me,” you whisper, eyes bouncing between his, “You’re buying me a house.”
“Ah, yes,” with one fell swoop, your shorts are pulled down your legs, right over the tips of your manicured toes and thrown to the floor, “One story? Two?” He asks, back up on his knees.
“Umm, maybe just one,” You answer, sitting up, slipping your hands into the dark sweats still covering his bottom half, “A two story house is too much to keep clean.”
You pull, but not all the way. Just enough to see his hips and that little tuft of dark hair underneath his belly button. You can’t help yourself and lean forward, kissing his stomach, giggling when he jumps a little. When you do it again, kiss him, and then a third time, and a forth, he gives in. Sweeps your locs over your shoulders and pulls them into a ponytail in his hand. That’s when you hook your thumbs back underneath the thick band of his sweats and pull a little harder, pushing the material right over his hard cock, making it bounce.
Chris kicks out of the sweats, grabs your face in his hands and tilts it upward. Leans down and kisses you again— soft. Sweet. All while rubbing small circles into your cheeks with his thumbs. He stays there, forehead to forehead, eyelashes spread over his buttery, quickly blushing red cheeks as you palm him, dragging your hand from the base right to the tip.
It doesn’t take much— never has. After a few strokes, he’s wet and red all over. Chest, neck, cheeks. Mouth agape, pulling in ragged breaths as his eyelids flutter. He swallows hard, and then hums quick, deep and throaty before inhaling through his open mouth. You push upward, kissing him as you continue slow strokes, sweeping a thumb over his wet tip.
Fingertips brush along the inside of your thigh, down low, first by your knee. Then, slowly, they skirt upward, not groping or kneading, just brushing— flirting with your skin until they reach their destination. You gasp, mouth falling open as adept fingers— not only just in general, but with your body specifically— push through wet folds.
“One story it is then,” he breathes, hot, unhurried, “A dog and a,” he slams his eyes shut, hissing and grunting when you squeeze him, “Fuck baby,” he swallows again, lips trembling as he nuzzles in, rubbing the tips of your noses together, “A dog and a cat.”
Your free hand wraps around his neck, fingertips pushing into his hair as your head tips back, hips start to shove forward, eager for his touch— wanting those fingers inside. When Chris obliges, sinks his index and middle finger into your cunt—  touch starved and needy— you mewl. Making a real sound for the first time in seven hundred and twenty seven days. It enlivens you both.
Chris pushes you back, lays you back onto the small mattress, spreads you out. Keeps his fingers inside, pumping slow, curling, massaging. Thumb pressed against your clit, rubbing. He lays between your legs, coming face to face with your most intimate and blows gently. Warm air sticking to balmy flesh. Big blue eyes flick up to yours, then back to your sweet, licking his lips as a squelch fills the room.
His tongue darts out, slips along the inside of your thigh. Your hips react instantly, jutting upward as a sharp breath fills your chest. A long arm pushes up your body, fingers prodding your breast, tweaking a nipple before he palms the skin, but not for long. Within seconds, his fingertips are pushing into a willing mouth. Your tongue, swirling around thick digits as you grab onto his hand, holding it there.
Warm air tickles damp skin again as he blows on you, “Have some babies,” he offers quick, the words muffled by your flesh as he finally laps at you, tongue slipping through sticky folds, flattening against your slit as he massages the delicate, “How many you want, baby?”
Nothing but a bitten-off groan answers him. It comes for many reasons. His fingers somehow delving deeper, lips brushing over your cunt— the thought of babies. Little brown skinned, curly headed babies running in the backyard with that dog and cat. Wide smiles, complete with missing teeth, loud laughter, declarations of love as they jump into mommy and daddy’s arms.
“Oh yeah,” heavy words breathed into your ear, a hunk of man now laying on top of you, cock pressing at your opening, “My pretty girl wants babies,” the wetness makes it easy for him to slide in— all the way in— bury deep, “I’m gonna give them to you. You’ve been so good.”
He’s moving, hips pushing and pulling as he cups your face in his hands, presses his forehead to yours, “I’m gonna fill you up,” he mutters, swollen lips brushing against yours, “Stuff you— full of— my, fuck,” a deep moan, another quick hiss as he bites his bottom lip, overcome by the warmth, the wet— the tight, “Fuck, you feel good.”
Feverish lips are on yours again, teeth nibbling as his hips shove into you. Soft and swift. A palm covering your breast, fingers pressing, kneading and working sensitive, responsive skin. Nipples hardening, heat blooming across an ardent canvas of skin, pulsing hips eager to meet his.
Chris cups your chin, pushes upward so you're forced to keep slitted eyes on him and him only, “You want my babies? Hmm? Tell me baby,” you can only whimper in response, digging your nails into his sides, drawing your legs up and around him as he plunges deep, “Come on honey, use those words. Tell me how much you want my babies.”
He fucks into you hard, jamming his hips just once— the sound of skin on skin slapping out loud and off the walls. It arches your back, the sudden, quick thrust. Sends you right up into his chest. Chris pulls you into his lap as he falls back on his ass, extending his legs, heels digging into the mattress as he wraps his arms around you, holding you close and tight, fingers spreading out on your back.
Hips roll into one another. Fingers grip his calf as you lean back, hot, sloppy lips on your chest, over and between bouncing tits. A taut nipple pulled right into his wet mouth. Slippery tongue swirling and flicking, teeth nibbling before he sucks on the tight nub, teasing it further.
Then he’s holding your hips, forcing you down onto his cock. More rushed, sticky words falling from swollen, red lips, “You want me to fill you up? Hmm? Tell me.”
Tears slip down your cheeks, overcome by it all. The emotion of it, the physicality of you and him tangled together— the words, how many years you’ve waited to hear those words.
“That’s right, sweet girl,” he purrs, thrusting harder, faster, “You want me to come in you, don’t you? You’d love it if I came in you, huh? Knocked you up? Gave you a baby?”
You kiss him hard. Cupping his face, moaning sweet into his wet mouth, “I want it,” it’s breathy— desperate, “I want it, Chris. I want it.”
“Then I’ll give it to you. I’ll give it all to you.”
It’s feverish after that. Pushing and pulling. Grunting, smacking— lips on lips, skin on skin. Large hands gripping, fingers pressing into the meat of thighs and calves and ass and tits. His fingers grip the meat of your thighs, your ass, slide up your back— around your neck as your head falls back. Those fingers find your mouth, push just inside as he wraps his other arm around your waist, pulling your hips closer, helping them rock.
His fingers are out of your mouth, cupping your cheek now. Smoothing hair out of your face as it strains. You try not to get loud, slam your eyes closed, purse your lips as your toes curl and stomach tightens… heart flutters.
“Oh no,” he murmurs, brushing his thumbs over your closed eyes before prodding at your lips, “Don’t do that, honey. I know for a fact that you can be a hell of a lot louder than that. Come on, let me hear you.”
“No, I—“
“Don’t be modest,” his tone shifts, going stern and deep, and that’s all it really takes for the noise to flow, “I wanna hear you.”
But he knew that.
It’s a sweet little hum, and then a gasp before it’s clipped by an obscenity— a shaky, desperate, filthy word that dissolves away into a loud groan and then… it’s all downhill from there.
You couldn’t hold it in if you tried. It’s been too long. A pent up aggression, a nervous need all finally working its way out of you. You pull him close— crush your chest against his, wrap two liquid arms around his neck, press your face right against his. Chris loops an arm around your waist, squeezing your opposite hip, pressing his fingers right into the soft skin until it hurts.
But it’s good, the pain of the squeeze. It helps you right over the edge, makes you finally cum after seven hundred and twenty seven days. Slow at first. A warmth just taking its time as it spreads. The feeling sort of foreign because it’s been so long— your brain hasn’t caught up just yet.
When it does catch up, brain and body finding each other, dormant synapses kicking on with a jolt, it’s not just a warmth. It’s molten now, searing and stirring, passing through veins and muscles and skin and bone— it’s that deep. Toes curling so hard they go numb, fingertips digging into his shoulders as you throw your head back.
You’re sure the scientists and military guards can hear you three floors down.
Chris leans in, hot, wet, shiny lips pressing against your chest, over your tits with sloppy kisses, hips still churning into yours until they just can’t. Wet walls closing in, clamping down as they spasm, that molten enveloping him. His hips freeze quick with the first spurt, but find a haphazard rhythm as he comes. Fills you up just like he promised.
He pushes those warm blooms of silk deep with now pointed, long strokes. Not a drop escaping— it’s all for you, after all. Supply and demand and all that.
The mattress is a dream beneath you. Inviting and soft as he lays you into it, still rooted deep as he rolls you onto your side. An arm snakes around your hip, a palm and long fingers anchoring in the center of your chest. A hot, flushed cheek presses against yours as lazy wet lips drag along the back of your neck. Languid thrusts at random intervals keeps you gasping as he tucks his knees and thighs into the backs of yours.
“Say it again,” you whisper after a few quiet minutes, breath still heavy, chest still heaving.
Chris plunges into you again, soft and sweet and deep, “Say what, honey?”
“That you won’t,” the words break off, a moan replacing them as he kisses a trail down your arm, fucks into you once, twice, three times, “That you won’t leave me again.”
“I’m not leaving you again.”
When you wake up the next morning, that little whiteboard with the days scribbled on it is erased. All it says now?
Day one.
( Requested by Anonymous:  Could you do a Nuada x Reader where she’s on her period and is just sore and emotional and is having cravings? It’s that time of the month for me and reading about my favourite character being comforting always makes it better. Thanks x)
(A/N): Oh anon, sorry that I didn’t get to this sooner and that you had to go through that without and good story to make you feel better. I hope you still like this and will make you feel better even without the... “Girl flu”..
Warnings: Major Fluffs all the way.
Tumblr media
Female Elves are different from females humans, most of those different are physical differences like hair, eyes, and skin but most importantly the anatomy, Because unlike the human body, female Elves don’t have the “Red Curse” as his (Y/n) would call it. From what he had learned if a month past without her getting pregnant her body will start to release everything it prepared for the Child-to-be. The prince was confused, but still proud, because the “Red curse” is a sign that his beloved is a healthy fertile woman. However, he was not prepared on what price Female humans have to pay for it.
Nuada woke up before sun rise and the alarm as usual. he looked at the time, then to the sleeping human beside him, making him smile at that sight. His (Y/n) looked so peaceful when she slept and as much as he wanted to just stare at her till she woke up, he had to go and start training. Using his skills Nuada managed to sneak out of the bed without alerting (Y/n), all he had to do now was remove the cover from him and leave the bed. However, the moment Nuada lifted the sheets his eyes slightly widened when he saw the small amount of blood tainting her clothes, He turned back to look at the calendar and it was confirmed. Today is supposed to be the first day of the red curse. Acting quickly Nuada went to their shared closet and brought her new pair of under wear and warm clothes for her to wear. He went to the bathroom and started a warm shower, because her body should not handle the cold. He went back to her side and started waking her gently.
“My love, I need you to wake up.“ (Y/n) just groaned at him and tried to bring the blanket over her head but he stopped her. “Your curse has started.“
When he said that (Y/n) seemed a bit more alarmed but still very tired and forced herself to set up properly, but Nuada only lifted her up and brought her closer to him for her to set on his lap. She pressed herself to him seeking his warmth her eyes still closed, he could till that she was trying hard to fight sleep.
“I will you go back to sleep once you get yourself taken care of.“ He assured before standing up with her on his arms as they made their way to the bathroom.
“Did I bleed on the sheets?“ (Y/n) mumbled tiredly.
“No, you didn’t. Get yourself put together and then you can go back to bed.“ Nuada answered before he gently got her to stand on her own.
Nuada left the bathroom to give (Y/n) her privacy. while she was doing her human hygiene Nuada went to prepare a hot water bag and leave it on her side of the bed. when he heard the water stop Nuada was ready to receive her. he saw that even though her eyes were open she was still tired and wanted to sleep. He guided her to the bed and smiled when he heard the pleased sigh his beloved let out as the welcoming heat received. Giving her a last kiss on the head Nuada changed his clothes and went to his training, making mental note to talk to her supervisor and excuse her from work for the next week, he need to bring snacks, candy and especially chocolate for her, he also needed to always stay calm and remember that his (Y/n)’s hormones are out of control and that she was going through a lot of pain, so any harsh thing or nonsense she would say in the future was never meant and that she simply can’t help it.
The Elven prince wasn’t as prepared when he dealt with the red curse for the first time. it was a lot of chaos and he almost wanted to walk away for not understanding it better.
---
He decided to finished training a bit early, so he can have time to bring (Y/n) food, because snakes alone isn’t healthy. He thought she was still sleeping peacefully, he didn’t expect to walk in the room and see (Y/n) crying as she stared at her Laptop screen. When she saw him more tears ran down her checks.
“N..Nuada..“ She said between sobs.
Putting her food to the side Nuada hurried to wrap his arm around the crying girl to comfort her, she pressed her face against his stomach and started crying. Taking the chance Nuada glance to her Laptop screen and rolled his eyes at what he saw. (Y/n) was watching one of those sad romantic human movies again, he never understood why does she purposely make herself feel bad to the level of crying if she hates the feeling so much. He now understand what male humans call their females a mystery. But still he did not point it out to her and allow her let out all her emotions. She finally looked up to him her eyes slightly puffy, her arms still not letting go of him as she rested her chin on his stomach.
“You won’t forget about me would you?“ She asked.
“Not this again.“ He couldn’t help but think with a smile, because despite her ridiculous question Nuada couldn’t help but think of how cute she was.
“No, I will not.“ He answered as he kissed her forehead.
“Then what if I forgot about you?!“ (Y/n) said as more tears threatened to escape her eyes.
Nuada pulled away from her enough for him to kneel down to be in her eye level. He cupped her face and looked into her eyes to show his sincerity on what he is about to say next.
“My dear, if You forget about me, then I shall do everything in my power to make you remember me again, and if you didn’t then I will make you fall for me again“ He assured. “And you shouldn’t be afraid if I was the one to lose his memories, because i know deep down that I will fall for you all over again.“
He then kissed her forehead, which (Y/n) learned from years together that this was his way of showing how much he adores her. He hopes that this little speech of his would stop her from crying but he was wrong as (Y/n) wrapped her arms around him and cried even more. Nuada could only sigh as he continued to rub her back in a soothing manner. After she had calmed down Nuada said the magic words that would lifted up his beloved mood.
“Would you like chocolate?“ He asked calmly. and just as expected (Y/n) tensed in his arms before she slight pulled away to look at him shyly.
“You brought me chocolate?“ She asked timidly with a sniffle. Nuada had to hold back his laughter so his darling won’t mistake it for mockery. He pulled away from her to go bring the bag filled with sweets for her.
“Although I disagree with having chocolate before a proper meal, I will allow you this time.“ He said before giving her a bar of chocolate. “I assumed this is you favorite kind?“
Her answer came in her ignoring him and focusing on tearing off the plastic and devouring the treat, she let out a delighted moan that always seemed to make Nuada worked up... He could pin her right now and teach her a lesson on not to let out that kind of noise without him around, he had told (Y/n) that he doesn’t care or mind the blood, but she was still against it. Nuada shock his head from such thoughts and focused on giving his lady the special treatment she deserves... so she can repay him a week later. he thought a mischievous grin.
---
It was night time, Nuada was preparing to join (Y/n), who was groaning in pain as she pulled her body in a fetal position. this sight pained him greatly because there is not much he can do. He brought her warm drinks, refilled the water bag with hot water, made sure she was wearing warm yet comfortable clothes, and is surrounded by soft pillows. It took some of his space but he didn’t care, he just focused on trying to ease her pain.
“I guess from the groans that the pain killers didn’t work.“ He asked as joined her. She just shock a little under the blanket, which was a ‘No’.
Nuada thought for a moment before an idea came to him.
“My dear, would you let me try something that might help you?“ He asked as he peaked under the blanket and found her staring back.
“What thing?“ she asked.
Nuada had (Y/n) laying on her side, she was still hugging the hot water bag in the front, and her back was facing Nuada and bare. The prince made sure that his hands were warm before he touched her. Next thing (Y/n) was letting out series of pleased sighs as he continued to massages her back focusing on the end of her back where most of the pain was.
“How does it feel?“ He asked after what felt like half an hour.
“...Hmmm... Good...“ She said in a low sigh. “…So ..good...“
He chuckled before continuing to massage her back to do his best and ease the pain so she can fall a sleep. When (Y/N) felt that it was enough she rolled around so she can bury her face in his chest. Nuada just smiled, and he wrapped his arm around her to bring her close.
“Thank you, Nuada.“ Said (Y/n). “I can’t believe how did i go through this every month without you around.“
“You flatter me.“ He replied before closing his eyes to sleep. “But you know, I might have a solution to your “Red Curse”.“
“Oh really, and what is that?“ (Y/n) asked not opening her eyes.
“It’s a solution that only lasts 9 months though.“
When he said those words he felts a punch on his rib that didn’t hurt but made him laugh. (Y/n) lifted her head enough to look at him with one eye open.
“Don’t try your luck, princey.“ She replied with a low growl.
“No, promises.“ he said earning another punch to the rib, which made him laugh again.
Human females were not like Elves female at all, you didn’t have to worry about the Red curse, or hurting their feeling with the simplest words that were not meant as harmful, or keep them supplied with candy and junk food. But Nuada doesn’t care for he is ready to deal with anything to please his (Y/n).
---
I hope you guys enjoyed this one, as I said before requests are still closed, and for those who are waiting, your request will come so don’t worry. 😊
Coming Home To You (Part 2)
AN: Kara is not Supergirl. She’s human and a reporter :)
Many of you have requested a part two so here you go! This is part of a book that I’m working on so enjoy this sneak peek
Tumblr media
“This was a mistake.” Lena paces around inside her penthouse.
Kara stands awkwardly in the middle of Lena’s living room. She watches her lover in distress, her mind running into a million thoughts. What would Alex say when she finds out? What would Eliza think of her when she finds out?
She betrayed her oldest sister. It looks bad but most importantly she feels terrible. Kara let her temptations get the best of her. She shouldn’t have gotten so close to Lena when (Y/N) was away. She shouldn’t have comforted her most of the time when they heard the news that (Y/N) went missing during a mission.
They shouldn’t have assumed that the person they care and love for was dead without any hard evidence.
“Did you know?! Did you know that she was alive this whole time?!” Lena yells at the blonde Danvers.
Kara was taken by surprise that Lena is yelling at her. She never yells at her. She never experienced her anger toward her.
“What? No! Of course not!” Kara quickly replies.
“How could you not know?! You literally write about international news, war stories, political topics, Kara!”
“I’m just a reporter, Lena! I’m not a damn government spy! When I heard about my sister going missing. . . I tried to find leads, Lena! I TRIED! Nothing came out. No trace. No witnesses. No clues of what happened to my sister and her team!”
Lena shakes her head in silence. Her tears were starting to form again. The young CEO thinks about the decisions she has made that have come to this very moment. She shouldn’t have accepted the youngest Danvers’ help and comfort when (Y/N) wasn’t around. She was a fool for falling for Kara’s touch and caring words.
She tragically replaced (Y/N)’s kisses with Kara’s.
“I need to find her. . . I need to find (Y/N).” Lena frantically says. “I just need to explain to her that this was a mistake. None of this was serious.”
Kara looks into the floor and shakes her head in disapproval.
“Lena . . .”
“I’m sure she’ll understand. She has always been reasonable, right? God where could she be. A local bar! I just need to look up the local bars. She can’t be far. I-”
“LENA!” Kara interrupted.
The raven haired stops rambling and looks at Kara with frustration.
“WHAT KARA?! I need to find your sister! I need to fix my relationship with her!”
“What about us?” Kara questions her actions, her reasoning.
Lena huffs out a laugh, “Us? There’s no us, Kara! This was a mistake. I MADE A MISTAKE. I love your sister, Kara. You know that!”
It pains Kara to hear those words coming out of Lena’s mouth. Kara fell in love with Lena. In all truth, she fell in love with her while you were dating Lena. She kept it to herself. The youngest Danvers didn’t want to ruin the relationship you have with Lena. She thought that you being “dead” was an opportunity for her to have a chance being with the young CEO.
Lena sobs, her knees falling to the ground. The stress and frustrations are getting to her. Kara didn’t hesitate to be by her side, comforting her the best she could without making the situation worse. Lena cries against Kara’s shoulder.
“It’s not ideal to go out and find my sister, Lena. We should probably wait until tomorrow. Let her cool off. I’ll find her first thing in the morning and make this right.”
“Okay.” Lena mumbles.
****
It’s been three whole days that you haven’t stepped out of your hotel room. You have cried endlessly. Scream multiple times. You even broke a couple of items in the room. You drank until you blackout and woke up repeating the same thing you did yesterday.
You have decided that you need to put your hurt feelings aside. You need to reunite with your family and friends. You mentally think about how you’re going to pretend that you didn’t see Kara and Lena a few days ago. You will keep your distance. You will maintain your cover.
Your captain has already arranged your new deployment. You will be leaving at the end of the month and have a new assignment to take over. Your plan is to just get away from here.
You've been in the bathroom for a while. Looking at yourself in the mirror. It’s obvious that it looks like you have gotten no sleep. You can just pass it off and just say that your military position doesn't give you enough sleep
You fix the imperfections of your new set of uniform before heading out. You take a deep breath and hope that no one catches you acting differently.
Location: Lena’s Office
“I can’t find her, Lena.” Kara desperately says.
Lena looks out to the window, standing straight as possible. She was keeping her distance from the youngest Danvers. She can’t trust herself being near the reporter.
“HOPE can’t find her too. The face recognition hasn’t picked up her face anywhere. . .”
Kara’s phone rings out loud. The reporter sighs because it’s her sister, Alex. She hasn’t talked to her since you confronted your youngest sister. Kara hopes that Alex hasn’t found out, she can’t bear to handle Alex’s lecture and disappointment.
Kara answers the call and puts it on speaker for Lena to hear as well.
Kara: “Hello?”
Alex: “Kara! Where are you?!” She said cheerfully.
Kara: “I’m following a lead for my article. Why what’s up?”
Alex: “(Y/N) is back! She’s alive, Kara! She’s alive!”
Kara fumbles her words, not knowing how to react or say. She didn’t want to ruin her sister’s excitement.
Alex: “Get over here at the DEO. J’onn have already picked up Eliza. They’re on their way back here. Bring Lena!”
The call ended without Kara saying another word. Alex was too happy and excited to see you again. She’s happy that she gets to see you “first.”
***
*A few hours earlier*
You didn’t head straight to the DEO to surprise your sister, Alex. You made a quick stop despite the situation you were in. The Uber car pulls up to the two story house that you were looking for. There’s physical changes to the house last time you came here. The grass was looking more green and the roses were more full. By looking at the driveway, the two people you wanted to see are still home.
You rang the doorbell once and you can tell that someone is on their way to answer the door. You mentally ready yourself before they open the door.
A woman gasped as they answered the door and saw you standing firmly in the middle.
“(Y/N)?” Eve can’t believe her eyes.
“Eve, who’s at the door?” Lex calls out in the background.
Eve was speechless that she couldn’t answer her husband. Lex was a tad worried that Eve wasn’t answering him right away. The man makes her way to the door and gives the same shocking reaction as his wife.
“(Y/N)! You bastard! You’re alive!” He shouts with joy.
You smiled at both of them. You step in to give Eve a hug and then give Lex the same affection. Immediately, Lex can tell that there’s something wrong. He just knows. The man has always been like a brother to you and he feels the same way too.
The married couple lead you to the living room to have a more comfortable environment to catch up. They didn’t have to worry about being late to their work since they’re technically the bosses of their own department at L-Corp. Eve comes in with some tea and mini sandwiches for everyone. The three made small talk, giving them the truth about what really happened in the months you were missing.
Lex and Eve felt sorry for you how much pain and recovery you have to go through alone after that accident happened. You assure them that it wasn’t a big deal and that you’re very happy to live another day.
After the good catch up, Lex thought it was time to find out what was bothering you.
“(Y/N). . Why exactly are you here? Aren’t you supposed to see your sisters first? Or perhaps Lena?”
You looked to the side, took a deep breath and sighed loudly. Your mind goes back to Lena.
“Did you know?” You vaguely ask your ex-girlfriend’s brother.
“Know what?” Lex replies, Eve looks equally confused. This confirms that no one knows, especially your mother and Alex.
“About Kara and Lena. . .” Lex thinks for a moment before he replies.
“All I know is that they’re close. When you were away, Kara had been keeping Lena company.”
You nodded. He’s telling the truth. Small anger was inside you but you’re mad at Lex. You start to get mad at yourself for not being around much.
“I caught them. . . I found your sister with my sister. It was clear that the love bites and the flushed redden cheeks on Lena were from Kara. . .”
Lex suddenly feels stupid for not seeing this. He thinks about how he didn’t see the little hints that his sister was having a lover, becoming a cheater. Eve looks at you with sad eyes, she gets up and wraps you in a hug.
“(Y/N) I don’t know what to say . . . I just - I really didn’t know. If only I have seen it sooner I would have prevented Lena from making those-”
“Lex no.” You interrupted him. “Your sister is her own person. She can decide what she wants to do. You couldn’t have prevented her feelings for someone else. I’m not mad at you Lex. You’re always like a brother to me. You have helped me so much and I will continue to do the same. Despite the situation. This is between Lena and I.”
Lex sucks in his lips and nods, “Did the two of you officially break up or talk about it?”
“No. I left right when I found out. My heart is really fragile at the moment but I promise you like I promised to Lillian years ago that I will not harm Lena in any way. I have never physically abused her and I will not let this dictate my actions.”
“You’re a good person, (Y/N). I’m sorry that it had to come out like this. I was desperately waiting for the two of you to get married someday. Getting the chance to call you my sister-in-law.”
You sadly laugh. You almost forgot about the ring that was attached to your military dog tags. You reveal your necklace to Lex and Eve. Eve was the first to react fast.
“(Y/N)! That ring looks so beautiful!” Eve focused on the diamond on the ring. It wasn’t too small nor too big. It was the perfect size.
“Damnit Lena.” Lex says under his breath while his wife talks to (Y/N) about the ring. “You better realize that you threw out the best Danvers sister. This one was going to marry you.”
Room to Breathe
Pairing: Josh Kiszka x Gender Neutral Reader
Word Count: 4,297
Summary: You're out at a crowded bar with the boys and start to have a panic attack from all the sensory overload and your crush Josh helps you through it
Warnings: swearing, alcohol use, general angst, detailed descriptions of sensory overload, anxiety, and spiraling negative thoughts. If you find any of these things to be triggering or otherwise upsetting, please proceed with extreme caution!
A/N:  So I haven't written a fic in like... God, six years maybe? But this idea popped into my head the other night and just wouldn't leave so I figured what the heck, why not give this writing thing another try? I had an absolute blast writing this, and I hope you all enjoy it!
     You held your head in your hands, trying your best to steady your breathing as you took refuge in the bathroom stall. The pounding, brain-rattling music of the honky-tonk was slightly more bearable in the relative quiet of the restroom, but you still found yourself grinding your teeth as the noise was beginning to get to you. Densely packed places were always a challenge; you weren't necessarily afraid of crowds, or claustrophobic, or anything like that, it was more that the combination of the overbearing noise and the feeling of being packed in like a sardine tended to make you a little... Panicky, to say the least. It didn't help that just getting into the bar in the first place nearly gave you sensory overload either. But you weren't about to bail early if you could help it, and you weren’t about to let a little creeping panic ruin a night on the town with the guys of Greta Van Fleet, especially not when Josh was the one who'd invited you to come along. Besides, you could handle a crowded, noisy bar for one night, right?
     The sudden slamming of the bathroom door made you jump in your stall, the rowdy voices of drunk patrons shattering whatever peace you'd had up to that point. You let out a heavy sigh, figuring it was for the best as you'd already been in there for at least five minutes. Any longer and the guys might've started to get worried, or worse, come looking for you. You emerged from your stall, ignoring the drunk people and their slurred conversation to your left as you washed your hands, and then taking a moment to splash some water on your face. Just the thought of going back out into the noise and crowd was enough to make your chest tighten, and you couldn’t help but feel a little pissed off at the current situation. You’d been looking forward to this night out for over a week; a chance to properly spend time with the guys outside of work after doing odd jobs around their studio for the last few months, and you’d especially been looking forward to spending some time with Josh. As much as you hated to admit it, you’d developed a little bit of a crush on him over the course of working at the studio, but you figured there was no harm in dreaming as long as you kept things platonic and professional. He seemed to enjoy your company and laugh at your jokes, and you definitely enjoyed his in return.
     You let out another shaky breath, taking a few more seconds to steel yourself before heading back out there. You knew this place would be packed, and you’d been ready for it, honestly you had. But today had just been one of those aggravating days, the kind where every little thing seemed to go wrong and rub you the wrong way. And when that happened, the panic would tend to creep in more easily, and with greater intensity. Still, you resolved to hold yourself together as best you could and not ruin the evening, glancing at yourself in the mirror to make sure you were presentable, before turning around and reentering the bar.
     All at once, the blaring music and roar of the crowd hit you, and you couldn't even hear yourself think. There were flashing neon lights hung up on every wall, a few TVs scattered here and there playing some sports channels, and people zipping about all over the place. It felt like your whole head was ringing, your eyes and ears begging for mercy already as you made your way back to the far corner of the room where the boys’ table was. You could eventually pick out Josh's boisterous laughter through the mayhem, and the four of them came into view just in time for you to see Josh lob a pretzel about 4 feet into the air, only for Jake to expertly and effortlessly catching it in his mouth. Danny and Sam both cheered at once, each of them swiftly downing a shot of tequila as Josh shared a high five with his twin.
     "Hell yeah Jakey, ten in a row, that's a new record!" He exclaimed in triumph, grabbing his glass and finishing what was left of his salty dog in one gulp. When he was done, he noticed you approaching the table and his eyes immediately lit up, though whether that was because of you or the sudden rush of alcohol you weren’t sure. Still, it was always nice to see him smile, even when you felt like you were on the verge of losing your mind.
     "Heeey, Y/N's back! Now we can get this party going again!" He slung an arm around your shoulder, pulling you close to his side as he grinned from ear to ear. In any other situation your hopeless crush on him would make you nervous if he got this close to you, but after your perilous trek to the bathroom and back a little contact from someone besides a total stranger was more than welcome.
     "Yeah, what took you so long?" Jake teased, popping another pretzel into his mouth. "We were starting to think you'd fallen into the sewers or something!"
     "No, that's what you thought Jake, me 'n Sam were betting they'd run off and joined the circus!" Danny added with a grin, his words slightly slurred from the tequila at this point.
     You swallowed tightly, flashing them a half-forced grin as you shook your head. “Guys, c’mon, be reasonable here, it was nothing like that... What really happened was an alligator popped up out of the toilet and we had a riveting conversation about quantum physics and string theory.”
     The guys erupted into laughter; Jake covering his mouth so he didn’t accidentally spit out his pretzel, Josh cackling to your left, Sam almost choking on his beer, and Danny holding his face in his palm as he snickered drunkenly. Even in your heightened state of anxiety, you couldn't help but genuinely laugh along with them in the moment. After all, even in a stressful situation the guys were still a hoot to be around. They each had their own oddball sense of humor that made you, a fellow oddball, feel right at home with them. And the fact that Josh's arm was still wrapped around your shoulder was pretty nice too. It was almost enough to make the blaring noise and packed-in-like-sardines feeling of the bar bearable... Almost.
     You were able to keep it together enough to have another round of drinks with them, finding solace in a simple vodka cranberry as the guys got drunker and more boisterous. Danny and Sam decided to have an arm wrestling contest, which Danny won quite easily given his drummer's arms, though that didn’t stop Sam from challenging him to a rematch, and still losing, five more times. Then Jake ended up slipping into his Oliver Reed impression, made all the more credible in his intoxicated state, and he began to ramble on about how wild and wonderful the filming of Tommy had been. Josh of course piped in when he could, commentating on Danny and Sam’s contest like a sports announcer and slipping into his own goofy voice as he ”interviewed” Mr. Reed. If this were happening anywhere else, literally anywhere else besides an overcrowded bar in the most overcrowded part of Nashville, you would've been having the absolute time of your life. But instead you found yourself getting more and more tense with each moment that passed by, the pounding noise and mass of shifting bodies behind you making your pulse race and your head ache. Your drink had done absolutely nothing to calm your nerves, and not even the continued feeling of Josh's arm on your shoulder seemed to help, and you were starting to resent the fact that you couldn't even enjoy that.
     You finally hit your limit when you felt the sharp point of someone's elbow jab into the middle of your back, and you flinched hard away from the source of the sudden contact. You could feel Josh’s arm tighten around your shoulder slightly, and everyone's heads whipped around to see a young woman, clearly drunk and looking very apologetic.
     "O-oh shit, I'm so sorry sweetie!" She slurred out, steadying herself on her feet. "Didn't mean t'hitcha! Jus' tryin' to get s'more drinks for my table!"
     The guys all nodded, assuring her it was and honest mistake and she gave them all a smile and a wave as she staggered off towards the bar. You, on the other hand, couldn’t even bring yourself to look at her, your eyes locked on an empty glass on the table as the ringing in your head became unbearable, every nerve and muscle in your body suddenly taut like a bowstring. The guys kept talking, though what about you had no clue, unable to make out what they were saying as your own pulse pounded in your ears. In the back of your mind you thought you could feel Josh's thumb rubbing gently against your shoulder, almost in a soothing kind of motion, but you honestly couldn't be sure right now. Every molecule in your body was struggling to keep it together as you quickly spiraled into a frenzied panic, and the only thing you were absolutely positive was true was that you had to get out of there fast.
     "Hey... You alright?" Josh's voice was suddenly clear and crisp in your ears like a bell, and it was enough to snap you out of your spiral for just a second and address the table. Though the way Jake, Sam, and Danny were looking at you expectantly made you feel like you wanted to run and hide under a rock. If there was one thing you hated more than having a breakdown in public, it was people knowing you were having a breakdown in public.
     "O-oh yeah, I'm good! Sh-she just startled me is all..." Your voice trailed off, and you swallowed dryly as you fought back tears. "I... I'm just gonna s-step outside for a second and get some air, yeah?" You said with a plastered-on smile, doing your best to not let them know anything was wrong as you reluctantly wormed your way out of Josh's grip and made your way towards the nearest door. You pushed your way through the crowd, ignoring the protests as you bumped into several people along the way, struggling to focus long enough to make it to your goal. You could feel your throat tightening, hot tears stinging your eyes as shame and embarrassment crept into your panic stricken mind. ‘Seriously? You couldn't even handle one night out in a crowded bar? You just had to let your sort-of-crappy day get to you and ruin everyone's night, didn't you?’
     Finally reaching the door, you stumbled out of it, desperately trying to catch your breath as you welcomed the sudden rush of fresh air. Unfortunately, in your panic, the door you ended up choosing wasn’t the one that led to the bar's outdoor area like you thought, but the front door, and you suddenly found yourself adrift in the churning tide of rowdy, drunken humanity that was the Broadway strip on a Friday night. You didn't even bother trying to hold the tears back at this point, completely overwhelmed and hyperventilating as you found the quietest spot in sight, an empty doorway on the other side of the bar's front windows, and sank to the ground. You hugged your knees tightly as you brought them up to your chest, shaking as you buried your face in your arms, the blaring noise, blinding lights, and sheer presence of the crowd causing you to shut down on the spot.
     The feeling of a hand on your shoulder jolted you out of your stupor, and you scrambled away from the touch as fast as you could with a startled scream. You were fully prepared to yell at whatever stranger had just touched you, because the last thing you needed right now was some rando putting their hands on you. To your mix of shock and relief, it was Josh's face that you saw, his eyes a little wide as he held up both of his hands in a defensive manner.
     "Easy Y/N, it's just me, it’s Josh!" He said as softly as he could while still being audible over the throng of the crowd. You couldn't find it in you to respond, just staring at him like a deer caught in a car’s headlights as your body started to shake uncontrollably. You suddenly realized there was, in fact, something you hated more than people knowing you were having a breakdown in public, and that was your goddamn crush knowing that you were having a breakdown in public. In the back of your panic-stricken mind you wondered, if you just stayed still long enough, whether Josh would just turn around and leave you alone. You realized just how futile that thought was when he did quite the opposite and extended a hand out to you.
     "It's pretty intense out here. Let's go find a quieter spot, alright?"
     The rest of your body still shaking, you nodded your head eagerly, accepting his hand as he pulled you up off the ground. Once you were standing, he let go of your hand and wrapped that same arm around your waist, pulling you in close to his side as he cocked his head in one direction.
     "You're ok, just stay close to me, I'll get you out of here."
     You hastily nodded again, unable to make words or maintain eye contact as you turned your gaze to the concrete below you and let Josh guide you through the sea of bodies. It felt like you were in there forever, the crowd shifting all around you, and any time you felt someone get too close, your body began to lock up and freeze. The only thing that kept you upright and moving was Josh's arm curled around your side, keeping you grounded as he led you away from the worst of the crowd. Eventually it dawned on you that the number of people around you were thinning out, the noise getting less and less intense as Josh led you up a street and then some kind of steep ramp. A cool rush of air and the sudden smell of water hit your nostrils and you glanced upwards to get your bearings just in time to realize that Josh was leading you over the river on the pedestrian bridge, towards the eastern side of the city and away from the bedlam of Broadway. You were about three quarters of the way over the bridge before he pulled you off to the side, leading you right up to the railing where you could clearly feel the breeze. The cacophony you'd just escaped from was still very much audible from this distance, but you found its volume to be much more bearable now. There was also plenty of room out here, as well as far fewer people, and for the first time since you'd entered the bar earlier that night, you felt like you could finally breathe.
     You leaned forward, bracing yourself against the railing as you took deep breaths in through your nose, before slowly exhaling through your mouth, and you could feel your body ever so slowly start to relax more and more with each one you took. Josh was quiet for the time being, his hand moving from your side to your back and rubbing up and down in a soothing motion while you caught your breath. Despite feeling calmer, the tears were more difficult to stop, anger and embarrassment at yourself nagging you in the back of your mind, unable to shake the feeling that you'd just ruined whatever fun he'd been having that night.
     You felt something soft touch your arm and you looked up to see a packet of tissues in Josh's other hand as he offered them to you, still silently rubbing your back. You happily accepted them, tearing the plastic open and grabbing a couple before reaching up and wiping your face, your breath still hitching here and there as you tried to steady yourself mentally. After a few more moments of quiet you finally heard Josh speak up, his voice soft and concerned.
     "How're you doing? Any better?"
     You bit your lip out of nerves, nodding as you finally worked up the courage to look him in the eye for the first time since leaving the doorway by the bar. You were expecting to see anger, annoyance, judgement; honestly all the things you felt about yourself right now reflected back at you in his face, but instead you saw nothing but sympathy and concern painted across his features. In any other situation you'd be positively swooning over how he was looking at you so tenderly. It was another couple moments before the ability to speak finally came back to you, and you let out a heavy, shaking sigh.
     “Y-yeah I… I’m alright now…. Thanks.” you trailed off, trying to swallow down the shame that had been slowly creeping into your mind. “I… I’m so sorry about this… I d-didn’t mean to ruin everyone’s night.”
     “Ok, first of all-” Josh said in a calm but firm voice, his palm on your back pressing into you a bit more and pulling you closer to him. “We’re not gonna do that tonight, alright? You didn’t ruin damn thing, you had a panic attack and that’s not your fault.” It took everything in you to not star crying again when he said that, though at least this time it would've been because you were touched by his concern and not because you were upset.
     “And second, I should be the one apologizing to you. That street can be really intense if you’re not ready for it, and I should’ve checked with you ahead of time that you were. I never would’ve picked such a crowded spot if I knew that was gonna be an issue for you.”
     You sniffled a little bit, shaking your head as you slowly pulled yourself together. “I-it’s ok, really... Like, normally I can handle crowds and loud noise, but being packed in like that, with everyone bumping into you and all the noise and lights on top of it... that can just be too much for me to handle sometimes, you know?” You watched as Josh nodded along to what you spoke, indicating that he was listening, and knowing that he wasn't going to judge you for how you reacted was helping the residual panic and shame you still felt fade away.
     “And then on top of that, today just like.... kind of sucked, in general. I mean, nothing terrible happened or anything, but it was a whole bunch of little things, one after the other. I totally fucked up making breakfast, my cat threw up on my favorite pair of shoes, I got a parking ticket for a really ridiculous reason, and I have some other work deadlines coming up that’re stressing me out, so I already wasn’t in the best headspace to deal with all of...That tonight.” you gestured your hand back towards the direction of Broadway.
     "Then when that chick jabbed me in the back it just... snapped something inside me. I-I know it was an accident, and I don’t blame her for what she did, but it honestly startled me so bad, and I just lost it..."
     "I don’t blame you,” he replied sympathetically “That’s entirely too much shit to deal with in a single day.”
     "And like... I-I know I could’ve asked for a raincheck, but I didn't wanna like, be rude or have you guys think I was blowing you off. Because I didn’t want to blow you guys off! Especially not for something so stupid..."
     "Hey, it's not stupid at all." He replied adamantly, giving your shoulder a reassuring squeeze. "Those kind of crappy days have a way if wearing you down way harder than you’d think."
     You let out a breath you didn’t realize you’d been holding as it felt like a weight had been lifted from your shoulders. You’d been so, so worried that Josh was going to be angry, or that he wouldn’t have understood what had happened, as had been the case for you so many times before. His hand began gently rubbing your back again in a soothing motion, and the two of you slipped into silence for a moment, letting the cool breeze coming off of the river wash over you. Even with the music still pounding in the distance, you could hear the sound of the river rushing under you if you listened closely enough, and so you did, finding the sound incredibly soothing. It was almost hypnotizing in a way, and you weren’t sure how much time had passed before Josh spoke again, but when he did, you were a little surprised by what he had to say.
     “I know a couple smaller clubs on the outskirts of the city we could check out next time. They've still got all the good drinks and music, but they aren’t nearly as intense as that one was.” he suggested, flashing you a warm smile.
     “I mean, don’t get me wrong, those definitely sound like my kind of place. But you seriously want me to hang out with you guys again after that whole mess?”
     “Of course! So you had a bad night, it happens to the best of us. We aren’t gonna hold it against you. Besides, why wouldn’t we wanna hang out with someone as awesome as you?”
     You let out a small chuckle,  a smile tugging at the corner of your lips as nervous blush crept onto your cheeks. “Well, I’m not sure about awesome... but I’m glad to know you guys enjoy my company.”
     “What, are you kidding me?” he retorted enthusiastically, his dark eyes sparkling in the dim lights of the bridge. “You’re absolutely awesome! You’re so nice and welcoming to everyone, you’ve got an incredible sense of humor, great taste in music, and you are delightfully weird!” You were glad the lighting on the bridge wasn’t the best where you were standing, because your face was rapidly turning red as he kept showering you with compliments.
     “Well, thank you.” You replied somewhat shyly, a grin spreading across your face as you found Josh’s good mood infectious, feeling much more at ease now than you had earlier. In a sudden streak of boldness you struck a small pose, with one hand framing your face dramatically. “But what, no mention of my flawless good looks?”
     You were just kidding around, of course, and Josh knew you were too. But even still, you couldn't help but notice the way Josh’s eyes widened and his smile twitched ever so slightly when you said that, or how he seemed to be blushing if the way his cheekbones suddenly appeared darker were anything to go by.
     “I mean...” he began with a small shrug, his smile downright sheepish at this point “That’s so incredibly obvious that I kinda figured it went without saying. But they’re definitely a bonus!”
     You let out a nervous laugh, feeling your face burn from the sudden rush of blood to it, and you turned to face back towards the river. You couldn’t keep looking at him when he said that, not when he said it while he had his hand on your back, not when he was blushing while he said it, not when he said it so... so earnestly. You pressed into his side a bit more firmly, and you swore you could feel his heart beating faster in his chest.
     “Yeah, well... don’t sell yourself short, you’ve got a face that could give Errol Flynn a run for his money.” you half-teased, nudging him affectionately in the ribs with your elbow. He let out a small chuckle beside you, his arm still firmly wrapped around your shoulder and he gave your arm a soft, affectionate squeeze in return. The two of you said nothing for a moment, just enjoying each other’s company and touch as you both gazed out over the river, watching the lights of the city twinkle and glimmer on it’s dark surface.
     “Is... is it cool if we just stay up here for a little while?” you asked, suddenly feeling very physically tired after this whole ordeal. “I hate to just ditch the others and leave them in that bar, but I honestly don’t think I could handle going back in there tonight.”
     “Oh don’t worry, a bar is the best place we could possibly leave them.” Josh said with a chuckle. “But seriously, we can stay out here as long as you need.” he assured, giving you a firm hug from the side and flashing you a soft, reassuring smile. “We don’t have to go anywhere.”
     A sudden surge of warmth and fatigue washed over you, and you found yourself leaning more heavily into Josh’s frame, which he seemed to welcome, finally letting your head come to rest on his shoulder. Your eyes slipped closed for a second, and you took a deep breath before letting out a soft, contented sigh.
     “Thank you so much for everything you did for me tonight. I seriously can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.” He hummed softly in reply as he leaned back against you, the weight of his cheek suddenly pressing into the top of your head.
     “Anytime, Y/N. I’ll always have your back.”
Riley screamed for Victoria but she never came. Her need for revenge consumed her as she abandoned him in an attempt to get to the human, Bella. He didn’t have time to feel betrayed and upset, those emotions would have to wait.
The wolf that had him in his jaws sunk his teeth even deeper into his marble shoulder. Riley screams in agony. He uses his one good hand to punch the wolf. The wolf release him for a second to readjust his grip. Riley knew the would go for his neck next and needed to act quickly.
Riley narrowly avoids the snap of the wolf’s jaws. He spins around and kicks its rips. The wolf whimpers as it falls in the snow. Riley stands and sends another kick to the head before the wolf could get up. He could hear the wolf’s heartbeat signaling that he had just knocked him out. His instinct told him to kill the wolf but the flight response was beginning to overpower his fight.
He could hear the cackling of fire and another heartbeat. He knew Victoria was the one burning in the snow. He also knew he wouldn’t be able to fight off the mind reader. Grabbing his broken off hand, Riley fleas the scene.
When he feels as if he’s a safe distance from the fight, Riley reattaches his arm. His would heal but leave his throat blazing in hunger. He stumbles upon a home in the middle for he woods. He hears a heartbeat inside.
Silently, Riley enters the home. Music plays loudly from one of the bedrooms. Riley checks the house and finds that the human upstairs is all alone. Soundlessly, Riley speeds to the upper-level and comes to a stop just outside the closed door.
The scent of the human inside flows from under the door. Riley’s eyes close and he inhales sharply. He’s never smelt something so sweet, so intoxicating. He hears footsteps coming towards him. He makes a split second decision. By the time the door opens, he’s nowhere in sight.
He doesn’t understand it. He’s unbearable hungry. Yet, when he had the perfect opportunity, he hesitated and fled. He didn’t stop running until he was in the small town of Forks. A couple of unfortunate souls falling victim to his ravenous hunger.
He knew this was Cullen territory and now he’s had a taste of their power. He knew they could tear him apart. The logical plan was to leave and never come back. He had to get as far away from here as possible but he stayed.
That scent clouded his mind. He didn’t even know who it belonged too. When it occurred to him that he didn’t even know what the human looked like he was overcome by the urge to find out. He needed to know.
This lead him to sticking around. He prayed the Cullen’s didn’t know. He kept his head on a swivel and kept moving around. He hunted discretely and never drew attention to himself.
He stayed around Forks for a couple of months before he smelt the scent again. This time, it’s wasn’t muffled by a door. The smell almost knocked him off balance. His feet followed it before his brain could comprehend what was happening.
Then he saw you. You were as beautiful as you were intoxicating. He wondered if your skin was as soft as if looked. He imagined what your lips would feel like against his. He felt as if cupid took the time to shoot him with an arrow as he stared at you with that human, Bella, that Victoria was obsessed with.
Then his eyes fell to your stomach and hips. By God, his mouth watered at the sight of you. All he wanted to do was wrap his arms around you. He wanted to touch you all over. He wanted to grip your love handles and kiss every inch of skin. He smirks as he imagines you on a bed covered in bite marks and hickies.
He wanted to worship your body. Everything about you drew him in. Once he was able to push past what your body did to him, he began to wonder who you were. Were you kind and compassionate? Did you have a dark and dangerous side? He was desperate to find out.
He followed you and Bella for a while. He knew Bella would recognize him. He needed to get you alone but she just wouldn’t leave. But when she did, he moved in.
“Oh, I’m sorry, wasn’t watching where I was going,” Riley apologizes as he ‘accidentally’ bumps into you. A jacket covers his freezing arms and glasses hide his ruby eyes. Thankfully it was bright out despite it being cloudy so he didn’t stick out too badly.
“Oh, no problem,” You assure him. Riley became desperate to hear you talk more.
“I’m Riley,” He introduces himself praying you didn’t know who he really was.
“Y/n,” You reply, shaking his gloved hand. He smirks, giving your hand a gentle squeeze before releasing it.
“You here with friends or something?” He asks looking around. His eyes quickly bounce back to you unable to look away for long.
“Uh, yeah, my friend just went to the bathroom”
“Oh, well, can I buy you a drink while you wait for them?” Riley asks hoping to have some more time with you. However, it doesn’t work out like he hoped.
“Y/n!” Bella shouts, strutting up to you quickly. “Get away from him,” She roughly grabs your arm and pulls you back. Riley can’t help but grow threateningly. He didn’t like her handling you so roughly.
“Bella! Let go,” You grumble, ripping your arm from her.
“That’s Riley,” Bella tells you. “The one Victoria turned,” She explained. You turn back to him and he gives a shrug not denying it.
“Is that why you’ve been following us all day?” You ask him. His eyebrows raise, impressed you had caught him. “Because you wanted to get Bella?”
“No,” He shakes his head. “Because I want to know you.” He tells you. He takes his glasses off, unashamedly staring into your eyes without the glasses as a barrier. “You caught my eye and you simply look too... ravishing to not know,” He flirts.
“What can I say?” You shrug trying to control the blush. “I’m a snack,” Riley smirk broadly.
“How about that drink?” He asks you, tilting his head. He continues to smirk coyly at you.
“Y/n, don’t,” Bella whispers. “We should go back.” She states eyeing Riley uncertainly.
“Sure,” You nod, accepting Riley’s invitation. You had meant to agree with Bella but something about Riley made you want to go with him. You grew up with vampires so you knew it wasn’t his vampiric attractiveness that drew you in. It was something else that caught your attention, something specifically...  Riley.
“No, let’s go,” Bella says, trying to keep you safe. She didn't trust Riley. Hell, last time she saw him he was trying to kill her. The last thing she wanted was for you to go off with him and have him kill you.
“I’m sorry, I don’t take orders.” You snap at Bella.
“I’m sure I can change that,” Riley flirts more. You blush madly, this time there’s no controlling it. The purr in his voice sends a shiver down your smile and desperately makes you want to palm your pants but you restrain yourself.
Bella rolls her eyes and her attitude that you’ve been dealing with all day finally makes you snap. You liked Bella but you liked Bella in small doses. At this point, you’ve had enough of her to last a year.
“Keep rolling your eyes. Maybe you’ll find a brain back there,” You snarked.
“Carlisle won’t like this,” Bella warns.
“Carlisle doesn’t have to know,” You says, giving her a warning look. You grew up with the Cullens. By now, you know how to keep certain thoughts private from Edward but evading Alice’s visions are a little trickier. You just hope that she isn’t seeing this.
“Fine, be that way, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Bella says, eyeing Riley once again.
“I’d tell you to go to Hell but I don’t want you stinking up my home,” You spit back before walking across the street to the nearest bar. Riley is quick to follow behind you. “I’m big, Riley Biers, I hope you can keep up” You try to flirt.
He smirks at you. Your breath hitches when his hands don’t hesitate to grab you meaty hips. He slams your back against the outside wall of the bar with just enough force to turn you on. He growls lowly and dips his head into your neck. He takes a deep whiff of your scent.
“I look forward to it,” He growls, his voice an octave lower than normal. “I hope you taste as delicious as you look,” He growls in your ear. His hands give your juicy curves another squeeze before he steps back. “After you,” He winks, opening the door for you.
You should have known that blabbermouth Bella wouldn’t be able to keep a secret. By the time you got home, all the Cullens knew about you and Riley. The only ones that seemed remotely happy was Esme and Alice. Carlisle looked conflicted but wasn’t rude nor mean like Edward.
“What were you doing spending the day with Riley Biers? Do you know how dangerous he is?” Edward growls the minute you enter the room. You sigh looking at Bella.
“You do know what they say about snitches, right?” You ask, tilting your head. Your insinuation causes Edward to growl menacingly. He only takes two steps forward before he’s thrown across the room and you’re pushed behind someone. “Riley,” You breathe in surprise.
He had followed you home. He didn’t know how the Cullen’s would behave if they knew about your day together. He smirked when he heard your comment to Bella but it disappeared when Edward appeared threatening to you.
He acted upon instinct. One second he was watching from a distance and the next he was in the middle of the room protecting you. He knew he was out numbered but he realized it didn’t matter. He’d take on the world to make sure you were safe.
Instantly everyone’s on edge. Edward stands back up and hisses at him. Riley hisses back, holding his arm behind him as if to assure himself that you’re safe. Before things can escalate, Alice moves between the two of them. In order to ensure her safety, Jasper moves with her. His eyes glare at Riley and Edward, daring either of them to even go near Alice.
“He’s not going to hurt anyone, especially, Y/n. You know that, Edward” Alice tells him. “I know you’ve read his mind. All he wants is to protect Y/n. They’re mates, I’ve seen it.”
“Wait, mates?” You question. Riley relaxes slightly when Edward does. Riley then turns to you looking unsure but hopeful. You offer him a small smile. “I look nothing like Victoria... but hopefully you still like me,”
“You’re right, you’re nothing like her.” Riley tells you. His hand raises to cup the side of your face. “You’re everything she’s not. You’re electrifying. You awaken emotions, instincts, in me that I didn’t know I had. You’re everything I could ever want...” His hands both graze over your luscious curves. You have a moment of insecurity that’s washed away when you see the hunger in his eyes. He lips his lips and pulls you close. “And so much more,” He whispers.
Birthday Boy
Happy birthday to my favorite fictional boyfriend. Just some fluff in honor of Bucky’s birthday.
Word count: 2k
Warnings: this is just fluff, maybe a few curse words. Enjoy!!
_____________________________________________________
Bucky and Y/n were sitting on the couch watching Hot Tub Time Machine.
“I’m telling you, Buck. The douchey ski patrol guy looks just like you!” Y/n insisted. Every time the actor popped up on the screen, Bucky just shook his head.
“I don’t see it, Doll.”
“Then you need glasses, old man!”
“Old man?” Bucky’s head snapped in Y/n’s direction. He had an incredulous look on his face. “You weren’t calling me old man last night.”
“Not my fault you’re going blind, Babe. Sebastian Stan is clearly your doppelganger. Your younger doppelganger,” Y/n said with a smirk, putting emphasis on younger. She knew she was picking a battle with Bucky but she wanted to see how far he would let her go before putting an end to it.
Bucky knew what she was up to. He loved seeing her smile, even if it was at his expense, but he was only going to let her go so far.
“I see how it is.” He leaned over and pushed her to lay down, climbing on top of her. Bucky grabbed her hands and pinned them above her head with his metal hand, his flesh hand moving down her sides, tickling her.
“Bucky, NO!” Y/n yelled out. “I was just teasing. With your birthday tomorrow, I gotta get my shots in while I can! You know I can’t help myself.” She squirmed her body, trying to move away.
Bucky shifted so his legs were on either side of Y/n’s, effectively trapping her. He started tickling her sides.
“NO! BUCKY!!” Y/n tried to pull her body away, but he was too heavy on top of her.
“I’ll show you old man.” While tickling her, he started kissing her face and neck. They were laughing, Y/n trying to desperately get away from Bucky’s hand, when Bucky felt cold water hitting his back.
“HEY!” Bucky yelled, turning around. He saw Sam and Steve standing there, laughing.
“I had to cool you off,” Sam said. He held up an empty glass and shook it. “No sex on the couch.”
Bucky let go of Y/n and got up to run after Sam. “Get over here, Birdbrain.”
Sam took off running to his room with Bucky close behind him.
Y/n looked at Steve. “He was tickling me because I called him old man. But he refuses to acknowledge he looks like the actor in Hot Tub Time Machine!”
The movie was at a scene with Blaine, the character Y/n was referring to. She pointed to the screen and Steve looked.
“I don’t see it.” Steve shrugged and walked off.
“Argh! Thor save me from old men who need glasses!”
 The next morning, Y/n got up before Bucky to cook him breakfast. She had a day planned of doing activities Bucky loved. She made pancakes, bacon, and eggs with some coffee and loaded up a tray with the food. She made her way back to their shared room. Bucky was not in bed, but she could hear him in the bathroom.
“Doll?” Bucky called out.
“I have breakfast. I was hoping you’d still be in bed, or did I not tire you out?” Y/n cheekily answered.
Bucky stuck his head through the doorway. “I thought I had tired you out.”
Y/n just rolled her eyes. “Get out here, birthday boy, so I can give you your first present.”
Bucky quickly made his way over to the bed. “Breakfast with you is a good present.”
He settled onto the bed and Y/n placed the tray over his lap. “A hearty breakfast to get through the morning, because we’re going on a little trip.”
Bucky looked intrigued. “Are you going to tell me where?”
“Nope. I did think we could take your bike, since it’s a gorgeous day out.”
“You know how to drive a motorcycle? And who said I would be okay with you driving my bike?”
“One, rude. Two, I got lessons from Steve. I can get us to where we are going no problem. I even did a test drive with Steve a few days ago.”
Bucky looked impressed. “I still don’t know.”
Y/n looked at Bucky with a pout. “Please, Baby? I promise I know what I’m doing and I really want this to be a surprise.”
Bucky hesitated. He had a hard time saying no to her but he also loved his bike. “Fine, but if you seem hesitant at all, we pull over and switch.”
“Deal!” Y/n smiled widely. “Now dig in, Baby.”
They ate their breakfast and then got dressed for the day. As they made their way to the garage, Y/n held up a blindfold.
“You’re not wearing that while driving,” Bucky joked.
Y/n gave him an unimpressed look. “You’re wearing it first. I want this to be a surprise. I’ll wear it later if you’re a good boy, though. Let you do whatever you want.”
Bucky felt his pants get tighter. “Careful, Doll. Keep talking like that and we won’t make it out of the compound. But I’m going to hold you to that later,” he said as he took the blindfold.
They settled on the motorcycle and Bucky put the blindfold on. “Can you see anything, Bucky?”
“Nope.”
“Okay then. Hold on.” Y/n started the motorcycle and Bucky wrapped his arms around her waist.
They took off. It was a weird feeling for Bucky to not know where they were going, but he trusted Y/n. After a while, Bucky felt the bike slow down. He could hear crowds and screams of joy in the background. After the bike was stopped, Y/n looked over her shoulder.
“You can take off the blindfold now.”
Bucky slipped of the blindfold and smiled when he saw they were at Coney Island.
“Good surprise?” Y/n asked and bit her lip.
“Best surprise.” Bucky hugged her close.
“Good. I wanted you to have fun and not worry about the world and this seemed to fit what I wanted.”
“It’s perfect.” Bucky got off the bike and helped Y/n off.
They spent their morning at Coney Island, riding everything they could and playing several games. Y/n made sure to win a stuffed bear for Bucky. Bucky really enjoyed the Cyclone and regaling Y/n with the story of how he made Steve ride it back in the day. They had lunch and then decided to finish their visit with the Wonder Wheel. At the top of the ride, they shared a kiss.
“Good birthday so far?”
“Best I think I’ve ever had.” Bucky looked at Y/n like she hung the moon.
“Ready to head back to the compound? The team has a small party planned for you.”
Bucky had a hesitant look on his face.
Y/n rushed to assure him. “Nothing like Tony’s usual parties. It’s just the team and significant others. We want to celebrate you turning 104.”
Bucky looked relieved. “That’s fine. As long as you promise to not leave my side all night.”
“Like I would leave you anyways.”
Bucky and Y/n made their way back to the bike. Bucky immediately got on and looked at Y/n. “I’m driving back. You did a good job but I wanna drive.”
Y/n laughed and climbed behind Bucky, wrapping her arms around his waist. “I figured you’d want to drive back. I only cared about surprising you here. And maybe after the party.”
Bucky reached down and squeezed her hands. “I love you.”
“Love you too, Bucky.”
They made their way back to the compound and got ready for the party. Y/n put on a deep red knee-length dress that fit her body in a way that showcased all her favorite assets. She kept her hair and makeup simple, since the party wasn’t going to be crazy. She made her way out of the bathroom and saw Bucky buttoning up his shirt. He looked up as she walked in to grab her shoes. As she passed him, he grabbed at her hand and pulled her close.
“You look delectable,” Bucky murmured. He leaned down and brushed his lips against hers. His arms slid around her waist, his hands moving down until they cupped her ass. Y/n smiled at Bucky and put her arms around his neck.
“Glad you like. I bought the dress just for tonight.”
“So, another present for me? I don’t know how I’m going to keep my hands off you.”
“Well, that is a perk of it being your party. We go for a while and then leave early and you can unwrap me and put that blindfold to use.”
Bucky groaned. “Can’t we just skip the party?”
Y/n threw her head back and laughed. “No. You know they’ll just barge in here. If we make an appearance, then we won’t be interrupted later.”
“Fine.” Bucky grumbled. He pouted as they left their room and made their way to the common area where the party was set up. Bucky was hoping if he pouted enough, Y/n would let him leave extra early.
“Your pouting isn’t going to work, Baby.” Y/n said over her shoulder, smiling.
Bucky gave up the pout and smiled back. “Worth a shot.”
When they entered the room, it was filled with the team and their partners. Steve had brought Sharon, who was happy to have made it in time, having been on a mission for the past few weeks. Clint and Natasha stood together, Clint’s arm around Natasha’s shoulder. Wanda and Vision were holding hands. Bruce had excitedly brought Betty Ross, who had recently come back into his life. Sam and Peter stood with their girlfriends and Tony and Pepper were happily hugging.
“Happy birthday, Bucky!” everyone yelled as Bucky and Y/n entered the room. Bucky felt so happy to be surround by his friends. Tony and Steve had hung up a banner that said “happy 104th birthday” and there were streamers all around the room. On the coffee table was a cake with a pile of presents for Bucky. Tony had set up a bar to the side, fully stocked with a bartender there to make everyone’s night easier. Though Thor couldn’t stay, he had dropped off some Asgardian mead for the super soldiers earlier that week. There was also a buffet table with various foods that Bucky loved, both from back in the 40s and from now.
The party had been going for a few hours and everyone was having a good time. Bucky and Steve had gotten into the mead and were feeling its effects. Bucky had opened his presents, loving everything he got, especially his new knife from Y/n.
“Doll, you already did breakfast and Coney Island. This is too much,” Bucky said as he admired the tactical knife. It had a black and blue carved handle with a steel blade that had a blue sheen.
“I saw it and thought of you,” Y/n said with a shrug. “The blade reminds me of your eye color.”
Bucky leaned over and gave her a kiss on the cheek. “I can’t wait to use it on my next mission.”
“Only you would be that excited for a knife,” Sam said with a laugh.
“Shut it, Pigeon.”
Sam just rolled his eyes with a smile. After presents were done and the cake was eaten, Bucky decided he was ready to finish his night in the bedroom with Y/n, wanting to make use of the blindfold. He looked over at Y/n and caught her eye. Bucky gave her a smirk that signaled he was ready to go.
“Well, thank you everyone for a truly great birthday. I can’t thank you enough for everything.”
“You deserve it, Punk,” Steve said, Sharon cuddled into his side.
“Definitely my best birthday yet.” Bucky pulled Y/n close and kissed her temple.
Y/n smiled, ready to start trouble. “I think that’s my cue to get this old man to bed.”
Everyone laughed while Bucky looked down at her in faux shock. “Old man??”
Y/n laughed as she stood up. “I mean, you are 104. I’m surprised you lasted this long.” She slowly made her way over towards the door. “Do we need to get you a cane or maybe a walker?”
Bucky jumped up and moved quickly towards Y/n. She let out a yell and ran towards their room. “I’ll show you old man, Doll,” Bucky yelled out as he chased her.
Everyone heard Y/n yell, “bring it on, senior citizen!”
Sam looked at Tony. “Thank you for soundproofing their room.”
“That was a present for all of us.”
Love and Admiration Part 21- Different
18+ Bakugo x fem!pro hero reader
Summary: (Y/n) has known Bakugo since middle school, admired him since high school, and had a crush on him since the first time they met. Even now, a top pro hero in her own right, she can’t shake her school girl crush. Too bad Bakugo literally has no idea she exists. Well that’s not entirely true… He does know pro hero Mercury exists, but (y/l/n) (y/n)? Never heard of her.
Warnings for mention of prior sexual harassment, canon-typical violence, fingering, oral (male receiving), swallowing, dom/sub dynamics, praise kink
“Damn it,” Bakugo growls, kicking frustratedly at the wheel of the car. “Don’t bully the car,” you tell him casually before moving to lean against the side door. “Why aren’t you fucking frustrated right now?” he scowls. It’s day two of your investigation into the potential Nomu sightings and you still have nothing more than hearsay and gossip to go off of. “Oh I am, but I also know that the less actual evidence we find the more likely it is that the Nomu sightings are just people seeing things in the dark and turning them into urban legends which, objectively, is the better option,” you point out. Bakugo grumbles, unwilling to back down and admit you have a point even if he is aware that you’re right. “Whatever, it’s still annoying as shit,” he finally huffs. “Tell you what, it’s getting late and there’s gotta be a bar in this town. Let’s go back to the hotel, change out of our hero costumes and then we’ll grab a drink,” you offer. “Fine, but you’re paying since it’s your dumbass idea.” “Fuck no! You still owe me for ghosting!”
Two hours later the two of you are laughing loudly in a local bar. “We’re gonna get fucking kicked out, shut up,” you cackle in direct contradiction with your words. “You want us to get kicked out? I can get us kicked out,” Bakugo crows, starting to stand on top of the bar stool he’d been sat in, one hand sparking away as a feral grin stretches across his face. “Oh my god NO stop it Katsuki!” you giggle as you try to wrangle him down off the chair, nearly toppling into him multiple times in the process. Eventually you finally convince him to get back in his seat albeit not without receiving a few dirty looks from the bartender. You ignore it though and order another round of drinks for the two of you, after which Katsuki announces he’ll return shortly after a quick trip to the bathroom.
You watch Bakugo wander off in search of the bathroom but soon after are distracted by a voice right beside you. “So we meet again,” the gruff male voice says and you roll your eyes hard as you turn to face the man who’d harassed you when you first arrived. He’s got a couple of buddies standing on either side of him and you’ve already got a bad feeling about where this is about to go. “You don’t look so tough now that your boyfriend isn’t around,” he sneers. “I get your fragile male ego is bruised but I assure you I’ll handle you just fine myself if you don’t get out of my space. This is the closest you’ll get to a warning shot,” you snap, too drunk and sick of his shit to bother worrying about petty things like image. If anything, young girls need more role models who beat the shit out of people who harass them, so if anything you’re doing this for the good of society. At least that’s how you’ll frame it to your publicist if they catch wind of you fighting in some small town bar. The man scoffs, his buddies snickering as if their untrained asses stand a chance against you. He reaches towards you and you immediately grab his wrist with your non-dominant hand before slugging him across the face with your dominant one. As he reels back you use the opportunity to grasp hold of the back of his head and slam his face against the bar counter. His two buddies look at you stunned as you turn back to them with your own slightly feral grin “Who’s next?”
Bakugo walks back out to chaos at the bar as you take on two men each twice your size. At first adrenaline sends him rushing forward to protect you but it doesn’t take long for him to realize you don’t need his protection. He’s always believed you’re truly a thing of beauty in action and right now is no exception. Even with alcohol coursing through your veins your training is obvious, each move fluid and calculated. You’re Katsuki’s very own goddess of war (perhaps Mars should have been your hero name) and he doesn’t dare take his eyes off you for even a second. The cynical part of his brain, vocal even through the fog of alcohol, reminds him that you’re not his, and likely never will be. You had made your apparent revulsion at the idea of dating him clear in the car ride down, the words “Who the fuck said I wanted to date you?” echoing faintly in the back of his head. The last guy goes down and before you can do anything else Katsuki’s legs are moving on their own towards you. He tosses several bills on the bar top, probably more than your tab actually was, and grabs your hand before dragging you away from your victims, your protests falling on deaf ears. You might not be his, but at least for tonight he can pretend.
Bakugo doesn’t stop until the two of you are outside and only then do you realize that it’s raining. Looking up at the dark sky you can’t help but think about the last time the two of you got drinks together. When he smirks at you and says “C’mon idiot, lemme walk you home,” before tugging you gently in the direction of your hotel you know he’s thinking the same thing. “I can walk myself home you know, I am a pro hero,” you tell him, perfectly recalling the exact words you’d said that day as if the moment is permanently burned into your memory (because it is). “Absolutely fucking not,” Katsuki replies and the softness in his voice makes your heart flutter. This is not a date. You know that. You know that Katsuki doesn’t see you as more than a friend he just so happens to also like fucking. His statement in the car about refusing to date made that perfectly clear. But as he tugs you closer to him and leads you both back to your hotel, you can’t help but indulge the small part of you that still hopes you’re wrong about him.
“This is me,” you announce as you and Katsuki stand outside you two’s hotel room door, soaking wet from the rain and yet still unbothered. “Your phone is on silent this time right dumbass?” he asks and it causes you to bark out a startled laugh. “Yes,” you chuckle, “it’s on silent and my service is shit anyway.” “Good,” he smirks before tugging you into him to press a heated kiss to your lips. This kiss is different than the other ones you two have shared. It’s soft in a way the two of you haven’t been before, neither of you particularly in a rush as you make out in the hallway. Wetness pools in your underwear as you allow Bakugo’s tongue into your mouth and under different circumstances you may have been embarrassed by how quickly Katsuki can make you soaking wet, but with his erection pressing into you you know he feels the exact same way. You pull back just enough to tell him the two of you should go inside before fumbling with the hotel key until the two of you stumble into the room, reconnecting your lips the second you’re able to. You peel off each other’s wet clothes article by article until nothing is left separating the two of you. The air conditioning has goosebumps rising on your skin and Katsuki notices the second you start shivering slightly. “Let’s get you warmed up,” he whispers against your lips before leading you into the bathroom. He turns the water on in the shower and holds you close as the two of you wait for it to warm up. It’s intimate in a way you’ll surely have a crisis about in the morning but as the two of you finally step under the hot spray of the shower and he presses you up against the cool tile walls, you couldn’t care less about what this may or may not mean. All that matters is you and Katsuki and Katsuki and you. Nothing else.
You moan as one of his hands brushes between your legs, his touch featherlight as he presses kisses to your cheeks and jaw. Your legs widen for him instinctively as he slowly starts to rub along the folds of your vulva. “You’re always so wet for me,” he whispers in your ear and you can only nod in response. Two of his fingers slip easily into your waiting hole and their gentle drag along your inner walls is enough to have your breath coming in gasps. You reach for his erection but he stops you with his free hand. “Let me take care of you Princess,” he tells you instead and so you allow yourself to let go and leave yourself in Katsuki’s capable hands. It’s a sharp contrast from the previous night as he begins to massage your clit with his thumb and slips another finger inside you. Last time he’d been driving you towards each climax at full speed, a battle to prove you wrong. It’s the side of Bakugo you’ve known for years: all bluster and aggression. But this side you’re seeing now, as Katsuki gently coaxes you towards climax with sweet, honeyed words whispered in your ear, it’s new to you and you know you’d give the world to see it again. “Be a good girl and cum for me now Princess ok?” he whispers into your ear. “Ok,” you pant as his fingers speed up, the circles he’s pressing into your clit getting tighter and faster until your climax washes over you with a cry of his name like the waves wash over the shore on a calm day. It’s a gentle crash, dare you say it even a loving one, as he continues to murmur praises in your ear. When the last vestiges of your orgasm ebb away, your eyes flutter open, although you’re not even sure when you closed them in the first place, and meet scarlet ones staring back at you.
“It’s your turn,” you tell Katsuki breathlessly. Before he can respond you gently push him back just enough to give yourself space and then sink to your knees in front of him. It’d be a lie to say his size isn’t a little intimidating but you’re determined to make him feel the same way he just made you feel. You lick a long stripe from the base of his cock to the tip causing him to hiss out a curse as one of his hands flies to the wall for support and the other goes to your hair. Even still he doesn’t apply pressure as you suck the head of his cock into your mouth and then start to sink down. “Fuck, your mouth feels so good,” he moans as you fit as much of his erection as you can bear into your mouth, using your hand to compensate for whatever you can’t take. You start to bob up and down along his shaft, hollowing out your cheeks and using his moans and praises as an indicator for what you’re doing well. You know he’s close when you start to taste the saltiness of his precum on your tongue so even though your jaw is starting to ache you move faster, suck harder, and commit to taking him over the edge. “I’m almost there princess,” he warns you, his grip on your hair tightening, but that only makes you work that much harder until finally with a cry of your name he finally cums, his seed shooting into your mouth as you eagerly swallow down as much of it as you can. Only once he’s completely spent do you pull off and stand back up to face him again. He reaches a gentle hand out to your face, his thumb stroking along your chin to catch what little of his cum you hadn’t managed to swallow before pressing the digit to your bottom lip in a silent command to lick it clean. You’re happy to oblige savoring the taste of him on your tongue before he reels you in for a slow, sensuous kiss.
You’re not sure how long the two of you spend standing beneath the spray of the water making out without intent but eventually you do separate. “Finish washing up, I’ll be in the main room,” he tells you before pressing one last kiss to your lips and stepping out of the shower. After he’s gone you use the opportunity of the shower to collect yourself. That was different than the last times the two of you hooked up. You felt it and you’re sure he felt it too. You should ask him about it. You want to ask him about it. But you also don’t want it to stop, especially with the memory of him ghosting you still relatively fresh, so you shove your curiosity away. You know his stance on dating and if this is the closest you’ll ever get then there are worst places to be. You turn off the shower, dry off, and then wrap the towel around you before walking back into the main room to change into pajamas. Almost the moment you step out of the bathroom you’re hit in the face by a soft white material. “What the fuck??” you blurt out in surprise as you flail to get it off. When you look over to Bakugo he rolls his eyes. “Just put it on and get over here dumbass,” he tells you from his position in his bed. It’s then you realize he’s tossed you the hoodie you gave him. You pull the material over your head and immediately are enveloped in his scent. “I bought this for you to wear, not me,” you tease as you pad over to join him. “Yea well you didn’t fucking bring yours with did you?” he huffs. “Fair enough, I’ll remember that for next time we have a sleepover,” you laugh but your heart skips a beat when he in all seriousness replies “fuckin’ better,” as he tugs you tightly against him. As you drift off to sleep in his arms your last thought is that even if it’s not everything, this is still capital S Something, and for now that’s good enough.
A/N: This chapter ended up going a different direction than I initially was going to take it but I’m so glad it did. It was a lot of fun setting up parallels between the first time they got drinks and this time.
babe can u bless us w some new years smut w papi gray ?
oml i’m sorry it took me so long to finish this but of course, angel!! lmaoo let’s start the new year out with some hate sex with gray.
warnings: so i guess the words papi gray triggered something in me because i don’t really know what this is anymore. anyways hatefucking, a smidge of choking, some dirty talk and the return of my fave: cocky fuckboy grayson. anyways hope you like it bby <333
New Year’s had never been your favorite holiday. Too many blacked-out people in a bar, all with high hopes for the year that come quickly crashing down the next day along with their hangovers. Plus, it doesn’t help that you’ve been puked on two NYEs in a row.
It wasn’t like you had a personal vendetta against the holiday, just the older you got, the more you wanted to spend New Years' at home. So you ended up creating your own traditions: Indian food, shitty beer, and rewatching your favorite chick flicks.
This is why you were so surprised to find yourself outside of a huge party this year. Your two best friends had dragged you with them, explaining how they didn’t want to ring in New Year’s without you.
“I look like a disco ball.” You groan as the three of you walk in, Ali and Stella confidently leading the way.
“You look hot.” Ali assures, smiling in what you figure is supposed to be a comforting way. She had been the one to invite the two of you tonight, and a part of you feels bad for your miserable attitude, knowing that she just wanted to spend time with you.
“Warning: Dolan at 3 O’Clock.” Your other friend, Stella, whispers into her red solo cup, and you can feel your bad mood return. Turning your head slightly, you can see Grayson Dolan walking in with his entourage, already acting as if he owns the room.
You can hear Ali snapping at Stella, reminding her how they agreed not to point him out tonight, but all you can focus on is how arrogant Grayson looked.
The two of you had never gotten along, a wrong first date leaving each other permanently on the other’s shit list. Despite your disdain for another, the two of you ran in the same friend group, so you saw each other more often than you like. At this point, everyone knew to keep you two far away from each other unless they wanted a whole night of insults, fighting, and yelling.
“Remind me why you two hate each other again? It’s been like two years.” Stella asks nonchalantly, tilting her head as she holds up her drink.
“We just do. He was a dick on our date. Some people aren’t meant to get along.”
“Aw, you two just need to kiss and makeup.” Ali coos, fixing your hair.
“More like fuck and makeup. So what if you had a bad date. The two of you still have this weird sex thing that needs to be figured out.” Stella interjects.
“I do not-“ Your friends start laughing at your loud objection, watching as your face grows hot in embarrassment.
“I do not want to fuck him!” You hiss, hiding your face from nosy onlookers.
“Why not? I would; he’s fucking hot.” Stella whispers, gesturing over to him. All three of you look over at where he’s standing against the kitchen counter, laughing loudly with his group of friends.
You hated to admit it, but she was right: he really was super attractive. He’s simply dressed in jeans and a black t-shirt, denim jacket finishing everything off. It’s nothing special, but you hate the fact that he still somehow managed to look better than everyone else here.
He looks over, smirking when he sees your little group staring at him. All three of you turn away, doing a horrible job at trying to look inconspicuous. Your back is turned towards him as you fix your hair and smoothing out your dress. Ali’s eyes light up suddenly, and she’s whispering to Stella before turning back to you.
“Stella has to pee; we’ll be right back.” She rushes out while dragging Stella to the nearest bathroom. Before you can protest, Grayson’s taking their spot.
He’s chewing his gum obnoxiously, and you can’t help the way your eyes focus on how his jaw moves with every bite.
“Didn’t think I’d see you here tonight, Y/N.”
“Yeah, I was just leaving. Decided it’s not really for me anymore.” You get out, moving past him to walk to the door. You figured you can just call an Uber and text your two friends you were feeling sick. Before you can make it past, he grabs your arm to stop you.
“C’mon, it’s the last day of the year. Can’t you be nice to me just for tonight?” He asks, eyes shining with mischief.
“ Don’t you have some other girl to mess with?” You yank your wrist back, walking off as he follows you.
“Why? You jealous.” He asks, and you know that arrogant smirk is painted on his face.
“Over you? Hardly.” You keep moving until he says something that has you stopping in your tracks.
“Did you wear that dress for me tonight?” Your jaw clenches, annoyance washing over your body. However, you figure two can play this game, so you turn around, walking towards him with a flirtatious expression on your face. He’s looking down at you, appreciating the way your attitude has done a complete 180. You wrap your arms around his neck and bring his face towards yours, leaning in as if you’re going to kiss him.
“Fuck you.” You whisper, mouth millimeters away from his. You turn away, turning to look at him over your shoulder one last time. The irritated expression on his face and his clenched jaw should’ve warned you that you were playing with fire. Still, you simply keep walking forward, choosing to look for Ali and Stella.
Maybe you could stay a little longer to see how this plays out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fuck Grayson Dolan.
At this point, you weren’t sure if you were angrier at him or if you actually wanted to fuck him.
All you know is he was pushing every last button.
It started with constant flirting - just with everyone else besides you. You knew Grayson was a tease, but you swore he had given every girl at this party his signature charming smile. The one that screamed, 'I'm Grayson Dolan, and you're the only one here for  me.' You had pretended like you hadn’t seen red when he leaned down to whisper a joke in some girl's ear, winking at you when he notices the way your eyes had narrowed and your lips were puckered.
It only got worse when he decided he needed a refill on his drink, coming up to where you were standing in the hallway. He slyly placed his hands low on your waist, pressing up against you to squeeze by even though you both knew that there was more than enough space.
You were in the middle of debating on whether or not you should finally leave for good this time, figuring you shouldn’t have to subject yourself to this torture when you still have leftover takeout in your fridge.
“Hey, we need to talk to you. Can you meet us in the upstairs bedroom in like 5 minutes?” Ali appears out of nowhere, blonde curls messed up as if she’s been running her hands nervously through her hair. Stella just nods casually, and you look at the two of them suspiciously.
“What are you two planning?” You ask.
“Nothing! Upstairs. Five minutes!” Ali assures, kissing you on the cheek before walking off again. You can tell she’s drunk, smelling the lingering vodka shots on her breath. However, curiosity gets the better of you, and after five minutes, you’re slowly walking up the stairs.
“Ali? Stel?” You call out, getting nothing in response. You keep walking until you reach the end of the hallway, closed door in front of you. You open it, greeted with the sight of Grayson in front of you.
“What the fuck?” You both exclaim, the door closing behind you. You jangle the door handle, cursing under your breath when you realize it’s locked.
“We’re not letting you out until you guys kiss!” Ali calls out.
“You guys got 20 minutes until midnight.” Stella laughs, both still holding the door tightly to keep you from breaking through.
“Oh my God, we’re not fucking 12. This isn’t 7 minutes in heaven.”
“Less talking, more frenching!” Ali yells, giggling loudly as her heels slowly click away.
You roll your eyes, “You two are the fucking worst.” You kick the door before sliding down against it, tilting your head against the door.
“Your friends are weird.” are the first words out of Grayson’s mouth, and you roll your eyes.
“They mean well, they’re just really … stupid sometimes.”You get back up to your feet and start knocking on the door, hitting it with your palms, anything that could hopefully get a passerby’s attention.
“Can you stop banging on the door? It’s annoying.” Grayson mumbles out from where he’s sitting up on the bed after five minutes of your obnoxious knocking.
“I’m sorry, did you want to spend New Year’s locked in here with one another. I’m trying to get out.”
He leans back down on the bed, covering his eyes with his arms. “You realize it’s locked; we’re stuck in here. No one’s coming up here for a while.”
You hate to admit it, but you know he’s right. With only 20 minutes until midnight, everyone’s going to be downstairs, not wanting to miss the main event. You walk over to the dresser, sitting on top of it as you pull out your phone to find someone to text for an emergency rescue.
“We really should just sleep with one another.”
You nearly drop your phone in your lap from his sudden outburst. “I think that’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard.”
“Why not? I think you’re hot; I know you think I’m hot. Stop- don’t try to argue with me; I’ve seen the way you look at me when you think I’m not paying attention. Let’s just get this over with; clear start to 2021.” He looks over at you, raising an eyebrow.
You roll your eyes, “I’m not sleeping with you Grayson.”
“What, scared you might actually like it?” He pushes himself up off the mattress and stalks over to where you’re seated on top of the dresser. You start to feel uncharacteristically timid, not knowing how to react under his dark gaze. You don’t say anything, just watching the way his eyes rake over your entire body slowly.
He takes a deep breath, “If I kiss you right now, will you let me?” You wait a second before throwing on caution to the wind, and nodding, deciding to give in to whatever tension is growing between you.
He leans down, softly kissing you before coming back to gauge your reaction.
“If you kiss anything like the way you fuck, this is gonna fucking suck.” You whisper, smiling at the way his face drops. He pulls you into him, forcing his lips onto yours roughly. It’s messy, teeth clashing into one another, noses bumping, and you love it. You didn’t want softness, you didn’t want intimacy, you wanted Grayson to let out everything he felt towards you.
He starts to roughly mark down your neck, leaving dark marks, and you whimper, desperately pulling his jacket off his shoulders. He leans back slightly, pulling his shirt over his head and your mouth falls slightly. You take in all the deep contours and ridges, not even missing the way he flexes briefly.
“Like what you see?” He rasps out, pants growing tighter at your open arousal.
“Just because we’re fucking doesn’t mean I’m another one of your fans. I still fucking hate you.” You pull your dress off and spread your legs slightly on the dresser. You mentally thank Ali for forcing you to skip wearing a bra because the way Grayson’s face zeros in on your bare tits has you whimpering softly. He moves even closer to you.
“Doesn’t seem like you hate me right now.” He whispers, eyes darkening at the dark spot growing on your underwear. His arms are on either side of your thighs as he’s standing in between your legs. You can feel the heat coming off from his body, close enough that you can pick up the subtle nerves in his energy under waves of excitement.
“Whatever.” You’re trying your hardest to remain unaffected, calm under his intense gaze. Still, between the lack of touch and the way he’s looking like he can’t figure out how he wants to ruin you first, you start to squirm.
He pulls roughly at your underwear; you watch as his biceps bulge until the fabric falls apart in his hands. Whatever facade of calmness you were trying to maintain flies out the window. You swallow deeply, eyes wide as he tosses the ruined underwear over his shoulder with a cocky smirk. The smug look on his face is enough for you to snap back to normal and return to your usual backtalk.
“Watch it, asshole. Those aren’t cheap.”
“Trust me, I’ll buy you two more to make up for it. Now shut up; you talk too much.” With that, he’s leaning down and sucking your clit hard.
You’re not quick to compliment Grayson, but you can admit he’s incredible at eating pussy. He genuinely sounds like he’s ready to die in between your legs, quietly groaning to himself with every suck and lick. Your breath hitches at the imagery, and he’s slowly licking up your slit, savoring the way you taste for him. He gives you a few more licks before he starts sucking at your clit again, and you can feel yourself growing closer.
“Fuck, Gray- I’m about to cu-“ Before you can finish, he’s pulling away and smiling up at you with shiny lips.
“Fuck you.” You practically spit out, and he just laughs shortly, amusement barely hidden in his face.
“Before I make you cum, I wanna hear you ask nicely.” He’s leaning into you again, lips hovering yours, mirroring the same position you had him in earlier. You push his shoulder, hoping to give you some distance, but he stays firmly planted in place.
“If you think I’m gonna beg for your sorry excuse of a dick -“
He cuts you off, fingers slipping inside you, and he starts curling his fingers, your back arching into his touch. With how close you were to your orgasm, you’re falling apart in a matter of seconds. You start whimpering out his name, and he stills all his movements, thumb hovering over your clit.
“Beg.” He demands, and neither of you misses the way you tightly clench around him from the change of tone in his voice.
You stare at him long until he lightly brushes your clit, reminding you of what you’re missing in your stubbornness. You sigh dramatically before swallowing your pride and saying:
“Grayson, fuck me.” He stares at you pointedly, and you sigh again.
“Please, Gray. Want you to fuck me, please.” You whisper. It’s not a lot, but he knows that’s probably the most he’s going to get out of you at this moment, so he just smiles proudly and starts moving his fingers again. The coil in your stomach starts to grow tighter, and your toes curl when you start cumming all of your fingers. You cry out, nails scratching down his stomach as he continues to move his hand to work you through your orgasm.
He leans back, sucking up everything on his fingers before unbuckling and taking his pants and underwear off. You were glad he had made you cum before because he was big, bigger than anyone you’ve ever been with before. He brushes his dick over your entrances a few times, tapping his dick lightly on your clit. You whimper slightly, and he winks, arrogant persona back in full force.
“You’re still a dick.” You whisper, no real sting to your words.
“Yeah, I know.” He strokes his dick lightly before sinking in, and both of you moan out from the initial feeling.
He starts snapping his hips relentlessly, not giving you time to adjust to his pace. Your eyes begin to roll back, only able to focus on the wood digging into your back, arm wrapped around your waist, and dick ramming roughly into you. You’re moaning out constantly, nothing able to come to mind to express how good he’s making you feel.
However, Grayson is starting to get frustrated, not satisfied with the way you’ve laid out in front of him. He picks you up, holding you close to him before dropping you carelessly on the bed. Before you can say anything, he’s twisting your body around, so you’re on all fours in front of him and is sliding back into you, taking you from behind. You’re arching underneath him, allowing him to reach you even deeper as you moan out. He’s practically fucking you into the mattress, and from your constant sounds and ass jiggling in front of him, he’s releasing a guttural groan.
He places an arm next to your head while wrapping a large hand around your throat, lightly cutting off your air. His body is entirely over yours, encasing your entire body in his large frame. It all starts to get to be too overwhelming, and your mind starts to go blank from the pleasure, pulling at the railings to get away from how hard he’s fucking into you while also leaning back into him to get more.
“Stop running; thought you wanted to see how good I can fuck you.” He moves his hand to slap your ass, and his dick jumps from the way you start squeezing around him. He rubbing your ass, ready to spank you again, when the both of you stop from loud screams coming below you. You both hear yells about countdowns and New Year’s and Grayson’s leaning down, rutting himself into you before whispering in your ear -
“How much you wanna bet I can get you to cum before midnight?”
10!
You didn’t think he could go any faster, but his movements pick up, hitting your g-spot with every movement of his hips.
9!
He brushes his fingers against your lip, watching as you slowly take them into your mouth and start sucking. You don’t miss the way he lightly swears when you lightly nip at the pads of his fingers. “Fucking brat.” He mutters before he’s wrapping his hand around your throat again.
8!
He moves his hand, going back up on his knees so he can hold you still as he keeps thrusting into you.
7!
With the way he’s gripping your hips and pulling you back into him, you already know you’re gonna be bruised with his fingerprints on your hip tomorrow.
6!
You start to fall forward, and all you can think about is how badly you want to cum.
5!
He starts rubbing at your clit, and you swear you can feel him deep in your stomach, knowing that he’s going to be responsible for your limp tomorrow.
4!
“If only I knew earlier that all I needed to do to get you to shut up was to fuck you properly” were the words coming out, and you hate yourself for moaning out louder at the way he says it.
3!
You can tell he’s starting to get close by the way he starts slowing down, choosing to grind his hips slowly into you.
2!
You haven’t stopped moaning, volume picking up until you’re practically sobbing into the pillow. You briefly think how grateful you are for the screaming in the living room when Grayson smacks your ass hard before groaning in your ear, “Fucking cum, Y/N.”
1!
The tight feeling in your stomach snaps, and a small spurt of wetness releases, you squirting into his dick and thighs. You practically collapse forward, suddenly exhausted, and it only takes a few more thrusts before Grayson’s pulling out to cum on your lower back.
Happy New Year’s, Y/N.” He whispers in a cocky tone, pride in how he practically has you reduced to nothing underneath him.
He covers you in a blanket before getting dressed and walking back out to the party, not even bothering to hide his self-satisfied smirk when his friends ask him why he missed the ball drop.

I didn't know you already had a request with number 47! so maybe number 13 from the angsty prompt list with petey? please?
Thank you for the request!
Prompt: “You did a wonderful job convincing people that you love me, I almost fell for it” with Elias Pettersson
Tumblr media
Warning: insinuations of sex
Word Count: ~3,400
Moving to Vancouver was a big step for you. But the job was too good to turn down and the apartment you found was a little too perfect and all the pieces just fell into place too easily to not do it.
The transition was difficult though. Your workplace was smaller than you expected and almost everyone who worked there was much older than you. Meeting people in the new city was hard. It was cold and rained all the time and you found navigating the larger city difficult, getting lost more time than you would care to admit.
But then you met him.
Elias.
He had stepped through the apartment lobby doors, hesitating when he saw you struggling to drag a box that contained the pieces of a desk you had ordered online. It seemed like a good idea at the time. The desk would fit perfectly against the window in the den of your apartment, it was absolutely beautiful, and it was on sale. But now that you alternating between bouts of yanking or shoving it across the all too big lobby you were beginning to wish you hadn’t made that purchase.
“Do you want some help?” Elias had asked.
You had looked up at him, immediately caught off guard. His voice was soft, an accent that you couldn’t immediately place. He was tall and handsome with intriguing blue eyes and a reassuring smile.
“I-,” you started, standing up straighter and glancing down at the box. You hated asking for help, even when someone was offering. Hated it even more when it was a stranger. But at the rate you were going that desk wasn’t even going to get into your apartment for a sizeable amount of time.
Before you even have a chance to deny the help he was offering he had stepped closer, silently letting you know that it was okay for you to say yes.
“Thank you,” you breathed out in relief as he leaned down to pick up the opposite end of the box. Together the two of you navigated the box into the elevator and up to your apartment.
Elias had helped you bring the box into your apartment. You introduced yourself to him before he left and when you mentioned that you were new to the city Elias had given you his number, told you to call him if you needed anything at all.
And for awhile you didn’t contact him. Not because you didn’t want to. Truth be told you would have loved to have called him because the city still felt so lonely and he truly seemed like such a nice guy. But every time you contemplated it the idea was outweighed by worry that you would be annoying him.
But then a few weeks later you were having a truly catastrophic day. Like always you left for the skytrain, because it was just as quick as driving and you didn’t have to pay for parking at work. But you ended up being late, missing your train and being a few minutes late to work. Where you were immediately berated by your manager despite your apologies. And you tried to put that behind you but throughout the rest of the day you were slightly frazzled and nothing seemed to be going smoothly. By the time the work day ended it had started pouring, typical Vancouver rain that could be heard pounding off the roof of the building. Dumping the contents of your purse onto your desk before leaving you realize you had forgotten your umbrella at home. So you packed up your stuff and prepared yourself for the miserable walk to the skytrain station. By the time your commute was over and you had hustled back to your apartment you were freezing cold and soaking wet. And as if the day couldn’t get worse as you rifled through your purse you realized your keys were missing, mind flashing back to dumping your purse contents onto your desk at work.
Groaning you stare at the locked lobby door of the apartment building. A few minutes of contemplating your options you pull your phone out, dialling Elias’ number.
“Hi,” Elias answers after a couple rings. “How’s it going?”
“Could be better,” you admit, huddled under the awning outside the lobby door to protect yourself from the rain. “Are you home?”
“Yeah, I am. What’s up?”
“Can you let me in?” You ask, not knowing what you would do from there, the key to your actual apartment missing as well. “I think I forgot my keys at work.”
“Of course. I’ll be down in a minute,” Elias assures you.
And true to his word he was opening the door a few minutes later, letting you into the warm lobby. Droplets of water drip off your jacket and onto the doormat as you wipe a combination of rainwater and tears from your cheeks. You hadn’t even realized you were crying till the situation had calmed down a bit, till you were away from the loud stormy weather.
“Are you okay? You look cold. Do you have the keys to your apartment?”
Shaking your head you wrap your arms around your body. “No, I’ll have to call a locksmith or something, I don’t know.”
“Come on, you can wait in my apartment if you want,” Elias offers, stepping towards the elevator as you trail behind him, feeling cold, miserable, and deflated.
You step into Elias’ apartment behind him you stand on the doormat, careful not to get water on the hardwood floor. But you’re not sure how to handle the situation so you stand in one spot, watching Elias kick his shoes off and step into the apartment.
“You can come in,” Elias tells you, smiling gently. “I can get you some clothes, if you want to shower and warm up you can do that too.”
“You don’t have to do all this,” you tell him, pulling your jacket off and hanging it up over one of the hooks by the door, pushing your shoes off.
“I’m not doing much,” Elias comments, nodding towards the hallway. Following after him Elias points out the bathroom, leaving you alone for a moment and returning with an armful of clothes. “Towels are in the cupboard there,” he tells you, gesturing towards the cupboard by the door. “I’ll be out in the kitchen, take your time.”
Something about how kind he was, how considerate he was left you feeling overwhelmed. He didn’t need to be this nice to you, you had never met anyone who was so kind so soon after meeting. After standing under the hot water in the shower while the chill dissipated from your bones, you get out and dry off, pulling on the large t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants that you had to fold over at the waist a number of times to be able to stay up.
Folding up your wet clothes you shuffle out of the bathroom, finding Elias in the kitchen. He was standing in front of the stove, cooking dinner with his phone pressed to his ear.
“An hour?” You hear Elias say into the phone. “Yeah, that’s fine.” He hangs up his phone, setting it down on the counter and glancing over at you. “Hey, I called the building manager, he said they have emergency access keys to all the apartments. If you have ID he’ll be able to let you into your apartment but he won’t be here for an hour. I was making dinner though, do you want some?”
You stare over at Elias in surprise, eyes welling with tears. “I…you didn’t have to deal with this for me, you’ve already helped me more than you need to.”
“It’s not a big deal,” he assures you, grabbing a couple plates from the cupboard. “I moved here not that long ago, I had all the guys on the team for support though. I can’t imagine not knowing anyone.”
“Team?” You ask, sliding onto one of the barstools at his bar counter.
“I play hockey, for the Canucks,” he explains, setting a plate of food in front of you before sitting down beside you with his own food.
“Oh, wow, that’s amazing,” you tell him in surprise. Because truthfully you didn’t know much about him aside from his generosity towards you. And so you spent the rest of the hour getting to know each other till he came with you to meet the building manager, making sure you got back into your apartment before saying goodnight.
And after that night you two began spending more and more time together till you were practically inseparable. He introduced you to some of his teammates and some of their wives and girlfriends.
You would spend evenings curled up on his couch watching movies. Eventually sharing the couch turned to cuddling turned to falling asleep with your head on his chest. You would go grocery shopping together, while it made sense with both of you living in the same building, the truth was that you both just wanted to spend as much time together as possible. You would go for early morning walks, discussing all sorts of deep thoughts. Going for coffee or dinner together became a common occurrence.
And you fell for Elias. Hard. But you were uncertain about his feelings. He had always been the friendly guy who lived on the floor below you. He never tried to flirt. When you cuddled on the couch his hands never wandered. You never caught him checking you out or staring just a little too long.
It was a Saturday night eight months after you first started hanging out with Elias and Elias had invited you over to Brock and Troy’s place along with a few other people. You were reluctant at first, telling him you didn’t want to intrude. But Elias was persistent and you found yourself sitting beside him on their couch a few hours later. The night had gone by as expected, they discussed stuff about hockey that you didn’t fully understand, you got to hear about their personal lives, girlfriends and family issues. You were glad Elias had invited you, happy to get to be more involved in his life than you already were.
“I’m going to the washroom,” you tell Elias a few hours after you had gotten there.
“Okay,” he mutters and you don’t notice the way he watches you stand up, the way he watches you walk out of the room. But Brock does and he can’t just not say anything.
“You’ve got it bad for her,” Brock chuckles, shaking his head.
“What?” Elias asks, only half-aware of what Brock was talking about as he turns his attention to him.
“Why don’t you just tell her how you feel?” Brock asks.
“How I feel?”
Brock shakes his head again, sighing loudly. “Don’t pretend you don’t have feelings for her, man.”
“We’re just friends,” Elias defends, adjusting uncomfortably on the couch as he glances around the room, looking for any distractions.
As you wander back from the bathroom you pause outside the living room entryway, frozen with the words you hear Brock say. “You’re in love with her, we all see it.”
“She just needs a friend right now,” Elias reiterates.
“Just needs a friend? But you don’t want to be just a friend?”
“Just drop it, okay?” Elias snaps, unusually out of character for him.
A few moments later you step into the room, trying your best to act like you hadn’t just heard everything you heard. Was Brock right? Elias hadn’t denied it. But that didn’t mean he was right either. No matter how hard you tried to remain unfazed by the comments you had overheard you simply couldn’t, catching yourself staring at Elias just a little too often and for a little too long.
By the time you leave that night you can’t manage to keep your heart rate steady or your breathing even. Elias parks his car and you climb out, an uncomfortable silence filling the air around you two and you begin to wonder if he knows something is up. Stepping into the elevator you can’t handle the tension anymore but you’re not sure how to deal with it either. So you let your body take control, stepping in front of Elias, one hand on the back of his neck as you lean closer to him. “Kiss me,” you whisper in the silence of the elevator.
“What?” Elias asks in shock, but he’s grabbing at your waist already, pulling you closer. And he doesn’t wait for you to say anything else before he’s kissing you, surprisingly fast and eager. When the doors of the elevator slide open you grab Elias’ hand, pulling him out onto your floor with you. There’s a nervous excitement as you both walk to your apartment. You barely have the door closed before Elias has his hands on your hips, pulling your back into him as he leans down, pressing his lips to your jaw, reaching up to brush your hair away as he moves his lips down to your neck.
Gasping softly you push your body back into his, hand curling around Elias’ wrist. “Please,” you whimper, head tipping back to rest on his shoulder. You hadn’t so much as kissed a guy since moving to Vancouver. And maybe it was because you were too busy to worry about going out with guys, but maybe it was because there was only one guy you were interested in and he just happened to be right there behind you.
“Are you sure about this?” Elias asks, turning you around in his arms as he holds you by your waist.
“Yes,” you whisper, grabbing one of his hands and pulling him along with you into your bedroom.
Waking up the next morning you roll over, finding the bed empty beside you. The way your heart sank was a feeling you had never felt before. You had slept with guys before and it meant nothing, had woken up the next morning alone or snuck out during the night. But this felt different. Because you really thought it meant something. But clearly you were wrong.
Slowly you pull yourself out of bed, yanking on an oversized t-shirt and shuffling to the kitchen to make coffee. Because you needed to do something, anything, to keep your mind off the fact that you had slept with your one of your best friends and he left before you were even awake. Left without saying a single thing. And with each passing hour of the day where you hadn’t heard anything from Elias the worse you felt.
Sure, you knew there was the chance that he really wasn’t in love with you. But when he kissed you back in the elevator you thought it had to have meant something. The last thing you would have expected was for him to just leave like that.
‘Movie night?’
The text came early in the afternoon and normally you would have replied within seconds of seeing it. But today was so different, hesitation as your thumbs hovered over the keyboard on your phone.
‘Sure. Your place or mine?’ You finally send. You couldn’t say no to Elias, no matter how hurt you were from earlier.
‘Mine? 7 work?’
‘Sure’ you reply vaguely. Your conversations were never like this. You always said more, talked about what the other was doing, made jokes. You can’t remember a single one word text you had ever sent him, it always needed at the very least a smiley face.
That evening you head up to Elias’ apartment, knocking on the door and staring down at the ground anxiously. Elias pulls the door open a minute later, stepping aside to let you walk inside. “Hey,” you whisper.
“Hi,” Elias replies, closing the door behind you before pulling you into a hug. It’s warm and comforting and you want to stay there with him forever. But you know you can’t, not after the night before. Slowly pulling back you take a deep breath, preparing yourself to bring up what happened. “Do you want to order takeout or should we find something to make here?” Elias asks.
You’re caught off guard by him brushing past everything that happened, not acknowledging the fact that less than 24 hours before you were moaning his name. “Uh,” you hum, prepared to talk about the implications of hooking up but not about dinner plans. “Takeout.”
Elias nods, pulling his phone out and opening DoorDash. “What do you want?”
“For you to stop ignoring what happened last night,” you blurt out, staring up at Elias with watery eyes.
Elias lowers his phone staring at you in silence for a moment. “What do you want to talk about?”
“What?” You croak, shaking your head. “What do you mean? What do I want to talk about? The fact that we slept together last night. That you left before I was even awake the next morning. Any of that ring a bell?”
“What do you want me to say about it?”
You feel your chest tightening, throat aching with the threat of tears you were so desperately trying to hold back. “You know, you did a wonderful job convincing people that you love me, I almost fell for it.”
“What do you mean?” Elias asks, eyes softening as he steps closer, arms moving towards you before you step back.
“I heard what Brock said, about you being in love with me,” you explain. “That’s why…that’s why I slept with you last night, Elias. Because I’m in love with you and I thought maybe, just maybe he was right. Or at the very least you would have the decency to not just fuck me if it didn’t mean anything.” Wiping at the tears streaming down your face you whirl around towards the door, trying to escape before you broke down any further.
But Elias is grasping for your hand before you can get to the door, pulling you into his chest. “He’s right,” Elias whispers. “I am in love with you.”
“So why are you acting like such an asshole then?”
Elias pulls back, reaching over to wipe the tears off your cheeks. “Because I was scared. I didn’t think you felt the same way. I thought…I thought you just wanted a, uh, like, friends with benefits. But I know I can’t do that with you so I thought just going back to normal was the only option.”
You let out a shocked breath of laughter, clutching tight to Elias as if he might try to distance himself again if you let up even just a little. “You thought all of a sudden I would try to just turn this into a friends with benefit agreement? After all this time?”
“I didn’t think you could have feelings for me,” Elias mumbles into your hair, holding onto you with just as much intensity. “I mean, look at you. You’re perfect. And I can’t give you everything you deserve, I’m not even here all the time, so…”
“What are you talking about you?” You ask, interrupting Elias’ ramble with a quiet, surprised laugh, your hands moving to the back of his neck as you stare up into his eyes. “You already give me more than I deserve. You’re the person I call when I need anything. You come down to my apartment at two in the morning to kill spiders for me. You pick me up when I have to work late and it’s dark and you don’t want me taking the skytrain at night. You helped me repaint my kitchen on one of the very few days you actually have off. And you don’t have to do any of those things so when you’re not here to do them it’s okay, because it’s already more than I need. You’re more than I need, Elias, and I hate that you would think you aren’t.”
“I love you,” he whispers, saying it like it was a weight off his shoulders. “I love you so much,” he repeats, a smile growing on his face.
“Should I spend the night here tonight? Or do you want me to sneak out after you fall asleep?” You joke, pressing your lips to his.
Elias smiles against your lips, pulling back and shaking his head, clearly still feeling guilty. “Don’t leave…you don’t ever need to leave."

Voiceless Love Chapter 3:
Goodbye’s & Hello’s
Loki x reader, Bucky x reader
Word Count: 2042
Warnings: Bucky fluff, Loki fluff, Loki not understanding feelings
Tag List: @caffeineoverloadandstudying @zizzlekwum @lokiyoulittle @magicalpieex @daddysfavoritesexkitten @buckylokisimp
A/N: I finally put Y/N’s writing in italics so you can tell when she write. Also we’re delving a little into Loki now, but I will let you all know for anyone hooked on Bucky, I will be making this into a choose your own! I’m not sure which chapter yet, but at some point I will split off and make a Bucky route and Loki route. The Loki route might be a bit longer and more extensive, but that’s only because I am biased and that was the original idea. Thank you all for the love so far on this series. I’m glad you all like it!
A few days have passed since the incident with Loki. Every time you enter the library, Loki gets up and leaves the room, clearly, but not subtly, trying to avoid you. Knowing it’s his private place, you started to take your book from the library and go to Bucky’s room to read instead.
Bucky likes having you around in his room. While he’s showering, reading, or even working out, you follow him around like a lost puppy and he often keeps his arm around you as much as possible. The other avengers are shocked as you too become closer, not expecting two of the quietest people in the compound to become so close so quickly. Bucky even goes to Steve to talk about you from time to time.
You lay on Bucky’s bed as he showers from sparing with Steve. You enjoy spending time with him, even if he’s doing chores and you’re just sitting in the room. Bucky comes out of the shower with nothing but a towel around his waist, making your eyes go wide. He chuckles at your shocked reaction.
“Calm down, I forgot pants.”
You chuckle inside as he grabs the first pair of pants he sees then rushes back into the bathroom. You can’t help but watch the way the water drips down his skin, highlighting every muscle on his body. He really is a fine specimen, you think to yourself, but you try to not let your thoughts get too carried away. The last thing you need is to be aroused around your friend who doesn’t think about you in the same way.
Bucky comes back out fully dressed in sweatpants and a white t-shirt. There's a light blush on his face from the embarrassment earlier as he lays down next to you. You lift your head instinctively as he puts his arm under your neck, resting his chin on the top of your head.
“What are you reading?”
Bucky lifts the cover to show himself.
“Wuthering Heights. Quite the dark and sad book for you,” he chuckles.
Scrunching your eyebrows, you grab his hand and pull out your pen.
What do you mean ‘for me’?
“I mean it’s depressing and you’re full of joy. I don’t want a book to get you down.”
I’m a big girl
You stick out your tongue at Bucky which makes him laugh. He reaches his arm around the other side of you and starts tickling your sides. You lose control of your body as you laugh horribly, spazzing your body to get away from Bucky hands. There’s no emotion but rage as you hear Bucky laughing at your torture. He grabs your book and sets it to the side before he stops tickling you.
As you regain your senses, you look up to see Bucky hovering over you, laying on his side and arm resting by your head. If you didn’t know any better, he was inches away from kissing you, even leaning in, but he isn’t. He stares at you with the softest look in his eyes, a smile on his face.
“Hi.”
You smile wide, still breathing heavy from the tickle attack.
“So I kind of wanted to talk to you about something. We’re all leaving for a mission tomorrow afternoon and I know you’re a bit bummed about not being able to go, but you also know you’re not the most capable of defending yourself.” You shrug which makes Bucky laugh and hang his head, leaning it on your forehead. “Darling, you’re adorable. So, you’re going to be alone with Loki. Is that going to be an issue?”
You shake your head no, but Bucky looks unsure of you. The inside of his eyebrows raise in question and he stares at you deep in your eyes.
“I’m not thrilled with you being alone, but I know you can handle yourself. We’re only going to be gone for three days, so I’ll be home quicker than you know, I promise.”
You smile to reassure his anxiety. Bucky tucks a piece of your hair behind your ear, leaning down to kiss your forehead tenderly. He lays back down next to you and pulls you into him, laying you on top of his body. You can hear his heartbeat from his chest and the warmth from his neck as you bury your head further into him. Bucky adjusts his arms and holds you tight as you both fall asleep.
-
The next morning, you wake up in Bucky’s arms with a bittersweet feeling. The sun is glaring through the window shades on his face, highlighting his beautiful blue eyes. You stare at him for a good five minutes, stroking his stubble with your fingers very gently.
“It’s rude to stare, doll.”
You’re started by Bucky speaking when you thought he was asleep. You jump a little, making Bucky chuckle and hold you closer to him. He smiles up at you as you look down at him, studying the groves and marks on your face, “I want to memorize you for when I leave,” he teases, “I’d hate to forget this pretty face.
You blush at his kind words and attempt to hide your embarrassment by tucking your face into his neck. Bucky chuckles, vibrating your body against his, and squeezes you tightly. You didn’t know it was possible to get physically closer to him, but he manages to do it.
“I hate to leave you… but I have to, darling.” Nodding your head, you fan your hand over his chest, sniffling in his neck. “Oh, baby, don’t cry,” he smirks, “I’ll be back soon enough.”
Bucky gets up and leaves his bed, searching for his uniform. You stay in bed and admire his form as he walks around, his shirt tightly gripping to his body. He comes up to you and wraps you in his blankets, making you a little shawl of warmth. Finally grabbing his bags, you and him make your way out to the main room where the rest of the Avengers are gathered with their bags.
“Are you ready to go?” Steve asks.
“As ready as I’ll ever be.”
“I’m sorry to leave you alone like this, Y/N. We figured you’d be safer if you trained and controlled your powers a little more.”
“She knows,” Bucky cut in, “We talked about it a little and she understands.”
You give them a smile to assure them that what Bucky said is true. Steve tries to approach you and give you a hug but you back away, making him give you a melancholy smile. Lucky comes up to you and gives you a hug even though you don’t return it. He walks away with the Avengers off to the Quinjet outside. You watch as they leave, Bucky giving you a little wave before the door closes.
Finding yourself in a quiet environment, you make your way back to Bucky’s room where you left the book you had been reading. Time passes on quicker than you expect and you find yourself getting hungry. Checking the clock, you notice it’s seven at night and decide to head to the kitchen.
Loki sits by the bar with his book when you enter the room, much to your surprise. He doesn’t come out of his room often and when he does it’s usually in the library. Ignoring him, you dig through the fridge to find food to make a sandwich. He stays in the room which is also a change of pace. You haven’t spent any time with him since the altercation in the library a week ago. He usually completely avoids you.
You finish making the sandwich and Loki has yet to leave the kitchen. He doesn’t look up from his book once or even mutter to himself. Tapping him on the shoulder, he looks up to see you pointing to your sandwich and then him.
“If you are asking if I want one, I do not. Mortal food does not appetize me.”
Your face drops in annoyance and Loki notices. Rolling his eyes, he closes his book and pays full attention to you.
“Fine, make me one and I’ll see how I like it.”
You give him a wide smile much to his own amusement. You attempt to make a sandwich you think he’d enjoy and slide the plate over to him. Eating your own sandwich, you watch him intently to see his reaction. He takes in a slow bite and chews it, giving you no reaction at all. The silence is deafening and you wish it would be over, but he continues to be quiet until he’s completely done eating the sandwich.
“I could stomach that,” he says, looking up at you with a smirk.
You smile at his slight enjoyment of the sandwich, making this down as a win in your book. Loki doesn’t miss the little smile on your face and smirks when you turn your back to load the dishwasher.
“There’s a book I’d think you like.” You turn around, perked up even more by his joyous remark, “the only problem is that it’s in runes, so unless you’re not willing for me to read it to you, I’d volunteer my services.”
You nod, accepting his offer. Loki stands up and heads for the elevator, you follow quickly behind. As you two walk out, you realize how proud Loki stands, his head held high and shoulders back, like a true king. You always thought he was stoic, but watching him carry himself across the tower shows a new kind of pride.
You enter the library and Loki immediately goes to the book, sitting down beside you at the table. He opens the book, but silently watches you through his peripherals as you get comfortable next to him, leaning your elbows on his chair arm.
“Despite that they lived worlds apart from one another, the norns had decided that Mengoth and Svipdagr were each other's great love.” Loki looks over to see you watching him with big doe eyes. He smirks at your innocent face and keeps reading, “Mengloth, meaning “the one shimmering of jewels” grew up in a golden hall, ruling a flourishing realm of prosperous farmsteads. She dedicated her life to healing the sick and wounded. Together with her handmaidens, she spent her days receiving the injured and suffering on a tall towering mountain.”
Loki continues to read the story to you in his sulky, smooth voice. There is one thing in the stories about Loki that you believe, he has a silvertongue. A way with words. A way with speaking. You find yourself falling asleep quickly listening to his mellow voice.
Loki doesn’t notice when you fall asleep, just that you did. He thinks to himself why a small thing like you would fall asleep next to him, this dangerous monster. You have everything to live for, yet you decide to trust this fallen creature enough. Setting the book down on the table, he picks you up bridal style and carries you to your room.
Laying you across the bed, he takes off the jewelry you have on and covers you with your blankets. He goes to set your necklaces and earrings down on your dresser and gets distracted by the photos. There’s one of you with your parents and brother, smiling in a line in front of your christmas tree. There’s another of you with a boy, smiling while dressed formally and looking at one another.
There’s something with you that intrigues him. You go after the good boys, the heroes like Bucky and the safe choice of boys in school, but why fall asleep next to him? He’s not this superhero with great morals and virtue. He’s selfish, prideful, arrogant. No woman, especially a midgard would want him, not that he’d be interested in a midgardian, but Y/N is different.
He shakes off the thoughts that burden his heart and leaves the room. Closing the door behind him, Loki wanders to his own room where he lays in bed staring at the ceiling. His thoughts can’t help but wander back in. After two hours, Loki is finally able to rest, but even his dreams are flooded with nothing but you.

Part Six || Part Eight || Masterpost (mobile) || Fanfic masterpost
Three months ago (cont.)…
You were happy you had arrived in a bathing suit already. Cassandra already had a handful of people over – luckily all people that you knew – swimming in her pool.
“So, what’s up?” Cassandra asked you, leading you towards the bar.
“Nothing just… wanted to come over.” She stared at you and you said, “God, fine. Tony pissed me off. You wanna take some shots?”
“What? Why? I am… Y/N, I am high.” She laughed. “I cannot be drinking. You know I do not do well crossfaded.”
“I’ll do one myself then.”
Walking around the bar, you grabbed one of the bottles of rum off the mantel and poured yourself a double. Cassandra snorted and you told her, “I needed that.”
“What was it about now?”
“I don’t really wanna talk about it. It’s just gonna make me mad all over again. Let’s just hang out and have fun and relax.” You spotted a picture on the counter. “Oh my god. Is this from your new video?” you asked picking up the photo. Cassandra nodded excitedly. “Oh my god, you look great. Your body looks amazing. How did he feel?”
Cassandra snorted. “Like every other male pornstar ever? His cock was hard, and he was plowing me.”
You shook your head, placing the photo back down on the counter. “You really are brave for doing that.”
“Brave?” she laughed.
“Yeah. I mean. God, doing escort work is one thing. It’s just you and a john – or two or three, depends. But it’s just that. There’s no cameras or anything. You though? You’ve got cameras all around, a whole crew watching the whole thing. You’re taking direction while getting dicked. That’s gotta be a lot of pressure.”
Cassandra started laughing. You realized how ridiculous you sounded, and you started laughing too. “Oh god, let’s go out to the pool. I obviously need some air.”
“Obviously,” Cassandra agreed, linking arms with you.
The shots hit the blood stream quick and consequently opened the flood gates too in a short amount of time. On your way upstairs, you stopped to take another shot. Cassandra was telling you about the trip she was going to take with her sugar daddy and you groaned, remembering why you were so mad at Tony all over again. The two of you walked up the stairs, arms linked to the bathroom. She continued telling you about the things they had planned while standing outside the bathroom, giving you privacy.
“I think I’m starting to come down,” she said to you. “I’m gonna have to light up another one. Do you want to share a joint?”
“Mhm, maybe,” you called as you pulled your suit bottoms back up.
Movement outside the window caught your eye.
Oh no.
Tony’s car was outside Cassandra’s house, right behind yours. You saw him get out of the car, followed by Mikhail and Louis.
“Fuck me!” you hissed before turning around. You completely forgot he could track the car and now he was going to cause a scene.
“You gotta hide me!” you exclaimed, coming into her bedroom, grabbing her hands.
Cassandra’s eyes widened and she returned alarmed, “Wait, what?”
“Tony! The driveway!”
“Okay? Is this bad?”
“Yes! I might have… driven not entirely sober over here. And left without telling him. After we had gotten into an argument.”
You heard some commotion downstairs and you looked at her pleadingly.
“Fuck!” Cassandra spat.
“Y/N!” you heard Tony bellow from downstairs.
You looked around wildly in the bedroom. “Fuck, do you have somewhere you can hide me and pretend I left? Like, I just left my car. Took an uber!”
“Y/N, there is nowhere to hide you in here that they aren’t going to find you. I don’t have secret rooms like Tony has! I’m not a goddamn billionaire!” Cassandra hissed at you.
Tony’s shout echoed up the stairs, “Y/N! My patience is running really fucking goddamn thin!”
Cassandra pulled you close and stared deep into your eyes. “He’s going to find you, Y/N!”
“I don’t want him to. He’s so mad,” you said pathetically.
“Yeah, sounds like you did a bunch of shit to make him mad!”
“Don’t be mean!”
“Maybe you shouldn’t have gone and pissed your daddy off. I don’t do that shit, Y/N. I keep mine happy.”
“He likes pushback—”
Something shattered downstairs and there were cries of alarm as Tony’s voice rang up the stairs – he was closer now. “Y/N, if you don’t come out by yourself, you are just making things worse for yourself!”
“He’s breaking my shit, Y/N!”
“I’ll replace it,” you hissed.
The pair of you stiffened hearing his footfalls on her wooden stairs and both of your gazes shot to the closet.
“Get in your closet,” you told her in hushed tones. She looked at you confused and you said, “Just do it! I’ll just stay out here and he won’t bother you!”
She did as you asked, closing the door as quietly as she could. Before you really had time to think, Tony appeared in the doorway. Your eyes immediately fell to the gun at his side and your stomach turned. His pupils were blown wide, and you knew he was high as hell. Cocaine no doubt; it was his favorite.
“Hey,” you tried weakly, eyeing the gun worriedly.
Tony stomped across the room, his hand closing in on your arm like a vice, tugging you to him.
“Daddy!” you cried out, wincing against his grip.
“Don’t ‘daddy’ me!” Tony growled. He shook you as he continued furiously, “How fucking stupid are you? Huh? Driving drunk? Do you not care how much that car cost? Do you have no regard for your own life? You have absolutely lost that fucking car!”
“I didn’t crash!” you argued, drunk ‘logic’ getting the better of you.
Tony laughed humorlessly, “You didn’t crash. You didn’t crash…” He threw his hands out, letting you go. “Right. Right. That’s true. You know what? Everything’s forgiven. Forgiven. Slate wiped clean.”
You asked uncertainly, “Really?”
He suddenly yanked you to him again causing you to yelp in alarm, your noses almost touching. “Your ass is going to be black and blue when I’m done with you!”
“Daddy, the gun—”
“I’m not gonna fucking shoot you, Y/N! Don’t be a dumb bitch.”
“Just be careful!” you pleaded.
“Oh, you are telling me to be careful?” Tony spat before his fingers dug in even further on your arm. “Why didn’t you come when I called?”
“I was going to the bathroom!” you half lied. “I wasn’t going to run out there with my pants down! Daddy, you’re hurting my arm.”
Tony chuckled darkly, ignoring what you said. “Why don’t I believe you?”
“I don’t know!”
“Because I know you’re fucking lying!” He snarled, shaking you again. “You knew you were in big trouble and you were trying to avoid me!”
He began pulling you out of the room and towards the stairs. The two of you clamored down the stairs. You were wincing against how roughly he was handling you, the drugs doing him no favors in remembering to be gentler.
Louis was holding your purse having found it while Tony was upstairs searching for you.
“Drive her car home,” Tony ordered Loius who nodded in acknowledgment.
Tony only hesitated for a moment coming up to porcelain statue he had shattered. His gaze flicked to your bare feet and he guided you around it. You felt a sliver of relief seeing the thing he had broken was something Cassandra had gotten at Home Goods and was not attached to. The relief was short lived though, Tony dragging you down the steps of her house, across the porch towards the driveway. Mikhail was on your heels.
When you got to the car, he opened the back door and shoved you roughly into the backseat. “Get your ass in there!”
<><><>
At the elevator back home after eating dinner a couple nights after arriving in NYC, Tony led you onto it and pressed two different buttons. You eyed him suspiciously because one was the penthouse and the other was a different floor before it. He caught you staring.
“I need to go to the office first. You don’t have to go with me; you can go upstairs.”
“But—” you began to protest.
Tony hushed you with a deep kiss. “Come now, you can stand to be without me for a little while, yeah?”
Exhaling disappointed, you shrugged. You had gone shopping earlier in the day with Louis, picking up Tony one of his favorite bottles of bourbon and gourmet salted caramel to go on some ice cream. You had planned to give it to him tonight and even more so after the disappointing dessert the two of you had had at dinner. It was going to be perfect and now he was going to probably take forever and you would pass out before he would come upstairs.
“I’ll be up in a second,” Tony told you, giving you a kiss on the forehead. You gave him a sad look and he chuckled, “I promise. I’m not going to be working. I just need to send a quick e-mail.”
“That sounds like work to me…”
“It’s not. Trust me,” Tony assured you, giving you a light pat on the ass as the elevator dinged for his floor. He gave you another kiss and said, “Seriously. Fifteen minutes tops.”
“I’ll believe it when I see it,” you muttered, much to his amusement. He waved at you before the elevator doors closed.
Scowling you, crossed your arms as the elevator started up again. When it opened at the penthouse, you walked in, tossing your purse on one of the chairs near the door and kicked your heels off. You sighed in relief, your bare feet on the marble. Making your way down the hall towards the kitchen, you thought about what you wanted to watch until Tony decided to show up again.
You stopped at the entrance to the kitchen seeing things on the counter that were not there before the two of you had left.
“What’s this?” you asked no one, frowning.
You walked closer and your eyes widened on one thing in particular. There was a large piece of fancy cheesecake on the counter with a large vase of your favorite flowers beside it along a gift bag.
“Oh thank god,” you said to yourself about the cheesecake.
You immediately went around the counter to grab a fork and came back to dig in for a big bite before hesitating. Maybe you should wait for him. But he also could take forever. You pivoted, looking towards the staircase, thinking. Putting the fork down next to the plate, you went upstairs quickly to grab the bags from earlier. If he got upset about you eating the piece before he got back upstairs, you would have his gift ready to placate.
You set the bag up nicely next to yours on the counter before picking the fork back up and taking the container lid off the piece of cheesecake. You took the first bite and sighed happily. As you chewed, you thought this could not have been sitting on the counter for long. He must have had someone grab it on the way back from the restaurant after he saw how put out you were by the piece of chocolate cake there.
After a few more bites, you put the fork down again and reached for the gift bag that had been left there. Tossing the tissue paper aside, you found loungewear from an online shop you liked.
You jumped at the sound of Tony’s voice. “That’s the right shop, right? That ethical one you were talking about?”
He came up from behind you and wrapped his arms around you, nuzzling into your neck.
“Mhmm,” you confirmed, picking up the fork and digging into the cheesecake again. You held it up to him and he took a bite. “It’s their new line.”
“Now you’ve had authentic New York cheesecake. Supposed to be the best,” he said as he chewed. You smiled at that, taking another bite. “Far better than that shit at the restaurant. Sorry about that, baby. Hoped this might cheer you up.”
“It did, tremendously. Speaking of that,” you said putting the fork down and unwinding yourself from his embrace. You reached for the other bag and held it out to him.
“What’s this?” Tony asked, taking it from you. He pulled out the bourbon and snickered. His eyes though lit up at the caramel.
“See, you can put that on ice cream tonight to also make up for the shitty dessert. It’s like I saw the future!”
Tony hummed in approval, popping the lid off the jar. He took your fork and dipped in it, licking it off. He got some out for you and you licked it off tantalizingly, not breaking eye contact.
“I think I can think of something better than ice cream to put this on,” Tony commented, running his tongue along his lip.
You snorted, pushing away from him. “I already took a shower today.” He screwed the lid back on the container and placed it back on the counter, following you, trying to grab you. You slapped his hand away and said, “Ugh, let me finish my cheesecake!”
“It’ll be there after I’m done finishing you,” Tony said. “I haven’t returned the favor from the other day.” You let him grab you, yanking you close, smiling wildly. “I wanna taste you, kitten.”
Sighing, you said, “I suppose I can allow it.”
Tony rose his eyebrows, playfully, “Oh, you are gonna allow it?” You nodded, running your fingers through his hair at the nape of his neck. “Who put you in charge?”
“Me.”
“That’s cute, kitten,” Tony said, dipping down to plant a deep kiss on your lips.
He began guiding you backwards towards the living room, your lips never leaving the other’s, until your legs hit the back of one of the couches. You fell back onto the couch and Tony followed, hiking your short skirt up past your hips. Your panties were torn down your legs and he laid a trail of kisses up one thigh and then the other, nuzzling slowly at your sex between. He was taking it slow, working up to pressing his tongue in. Your fingers curled up in his hair, bucking towards him when he gave a suck at your pearl. Tony slipped two fingers in, curling them to hit your g spot. He was good at alternating between the two and had you coming down around his tongue in record fashion.
Coming up, his lips were glistening, and he wiped his mouth on the back of his sleeve. You beckoned him to you tiredly and he did as you asked. You sat up to meet his lips, kissing him slowly.
“Thanks for the gifts. All of them.”
“You know I’m never going to complain about seeing you in tight yoga pants,” he said, his lips brushing yours with a smile. “Those were a gift for the both of us.”
“Ass,” you said hitting his chest and he laughed in return.

The following evening leaving an event, your fingers tip toed up Tony’s arm, trying to bring him out of his concentration. He had been on his phone since the moment the two of you had gotten into the back seat of the Escalade.
“Yes, kitten?” he asked, his eyes still trained on his phone.
“Can we go to this address I have?” you asked, holding up a slip of paper.
“What address?”
“A sightseeing place.”
Tony sighed, still not looking at you, “Y/N, we have dinner being delivered to the penthouse.”
“Yes, but there are people there to bring it up for us. And they can put it into the fridge. It can wait!”
He did not say anything in response, and you shook his arm. You saw Mikhail’s lips twitching in amusement at your persistence in the seat in front of the two of you.
“Why do we need to go to this address?’
Exasperated, you said, “I just told you. It’s a sightseeing place.”
“Of course it is. But why?”
“Daddy, it’s my first time in NYC! I just wanna see things and you’re not being nice about it.”
Tony finally put his phone down and looked you in the eyes.
“You think I’m not nice to you?”
“Not right now,” you returned, looking pitiful. Tony cocked his head, staring at you. You rested your chin on his shoulder, peering up at him. He said nothing and you moved up, giving him a quick peck on the lips. “Please? I won’t ask for anything else.”
He snorted loudly, “I find that really hard to believe.”
“I promise. For the rest of the day.”
“There’s the catch,” Tony nodded. He exhaled loudly and relented, “Fine. Tell the driver.”
You did not waste a second to reach forward and hand the piece of paper to Mikhail. “Can you pass this up to Happy so he can put it into the GPS for the driver?”
“Why aren’t you just telling me where we are going?” Tony asked, suddenly suspicious.
“Because it’s not really your thing.”
“Perfect,” Tony said sarcastically. You snuggled back up against him, and your hand brushed across his lap. He caught your hand and whispered, “Not right now, you little minx.” You stuck out your bottom lip and he smirked in response before leaning down and giving you a kiss and then going back to work on his phone.
When you were getting close, Tony began to realize where you were going and he asked just as you pulled, “Why here, though?”
You gestured up at the building. “Because it is beautiful? Look at it! Imagine what the inside looks like!”
“It’s a church, Y/N. There are thousands – millions, probably – like it all over this country.”
You stuck out your bottom lip. “Daddy, please. There’s not many churches like this, that’s a lie!”
“Christ.”
By his tone, you knew you had broken his resolve. You slapped him in the chest, a smile coming across your face. You gripped his collar and pulled him close. “That’s the spirit!”
He realized what you said and got the joke just as you pecked him on the nose and let go of his collar.
“Where can we get out?” you asked excitedly, and you did not miss the amused look on his face at your happiness. You felt butterflies at his adoration and then a sinking feeling, anxiety creeping back in like it had been ever since you had found out you were pregnant. Shoving it away, you tried to think about the beautiful photos you were going to take inside.

“Hey,” you said walking up to Pepper’s desk and placing the iced coffee you had bought her in front of her.
“Afternoon, Y/N,” Pepper said eyeing the coffee.
“Oh, I got that for you. I got an extra shot because and it’s almond milk.” Pepper seemed surprised and you added quickly, “I remembered that time I heard you order it.”
“That… is sweet. Thank you.”
“No problem,” you said before taking a drink of your own coffee. “That cathedral was amazing.”
“Oh, you actually went.” She sounded shocked.
You nodded enthusiastically, “Yeah. Not last night but the night before. You said it was nice, so I begged. I actually didn’t tell him what it was before we got there, he just told me to give the driver the address. Tony’s not really a church going person so he wasn’t entirely thrilled. But he enjoyed himself.”
“I can’t imagine Tony inside a church for any reason,” Pepper told you, taking a drink of her coffee.
“He did say ‘Christ’ before we went in. So, the energy was there, it was just misguided.”
She actually snorted at your joke. “Now that I can imagine.”
Silence fell between the two of you and you shifted uncomfortably, looking out her window. You had come in here for a reason but it was not easy to shift gears.
“Are you alright?” Pepper asked hesitantly.
Biting your bottom lip, you thought about how to approach what you wanted to say. But there really was no easing into it, especially since you were not going to be around her all the time. “I know this is really sudden and weird and I don’t want you to think I only got the coffee to try to make you happy and listen to me. The coffee is really a thanks for all the suggestions and taking it seriously when I asked you for the suggestions.” You inhaled deeply and then said slowly, “But, I was thinking – hoping, really – that maybe you can talk to Tony.”
You had her attention. Her hands fell from the keyboard, looking concerned.
“About?”
“Uh you know… having a baby… like… at all.”
Pepper was staring at you flabbergasted and you sucked in your lips, staring at her in return, wanting her to say anything. Uncomfortably, she said, “Y/N. That is a conversation you need to have with Tony. Not me.”
You flopped into her chair opposite her desk. “It would be better coming from someone else. Especially someone close to him like you are you. Happy sure as hell won’t.”
“Um, okay,” Pepper said. “W-why does this need to happen?”
“I’m sure he’s gonna get tired of me, find someone else, and then I’m just gonna be stuck with this baby. That I have no idea what to do with.”
Again, she looked floored by what you said and you had a sinking feeling this conversation was not going to go the way you hoped.
“I don’t think Tony is going to leave you, Y/N. I would actually be shocked,” Pepper said carefully. “And he’s excited about the baby. Really excited. He won’t shut up about it actually.”
Great.
Sighing heavily, you explained further, “I think he’s gonna regret it. Because it’s completely going to destroy my body. Like my stomach and my hips are never going to be the same. And my breasts.”
“Is that what you’re concerned about?’ Pepper asked, unable to keep the disdain out of her voice.
You shrugged quickly. “I’m worried about a lot of things that I don’t have time to get into detail about. But I mean, he didn’t get with me because of my intelligence.” Pepper narrowed her eyes and you pressed on quickly, “But, I just thought maybe you could try to talk to him, you know, some sense into him about it? He would listen to you. If I tell him having a baby is a bad idea…” you paused and then shook your head, shrugging. “He’ll think I’m just having a moment and won’t take me saying we shouldn’t have the baby seriously. He’ll think I’m being dramatic. Which is something I am a lot of the time, so it’s a good point normally. Can’t fault him there. But if you talked to him, he would choose—”
Happy walked in then and you immediately shut up, leaning back. He was not looking at you and you bit your lip, wondering if he had heard anything.
You noticed Pepper was watching you with curiosity about how quickly you had gone silent at his presence.
“Do you have that file for Tony? He’s about to call Gene.”
“Yeah,” Pepper nodded. “I’ll e-mail it to him. Sorry, I got busy this morning.”
“Hey, Happy,” you greeted, trying to play it cool. Happy turned his head to look at you and you asked, “So, um, I’m kind of hungry. Is there anything I can have from the lobby?”
“Y/N. Tony already has lunch plans for you. You know that.”
“Right,” you said. You did not miss the confused expression on Pepper’s face at his response, even if it was only there for a moment. You decided to try to press your luck. “But, I meant, Tony usually takes a lot of time in his meetings and I’m pregnant so…” Happy stared back at you in silence and you moved. “Okay, I’ll just go do it—”
He held up his hand and shook his head. Sighing, sounding reluctant, he asked, “What would you like?”
“Like… a banana. Or something. Something healthy.”
Nodding, Happy said, “Right. I’ll be right back.”
He turned and walked back out of the room.
You turned your attention back to Pepper, who was still looking at the door suspiciously where Happy had walked off before meeting your gaze again. You joked weakly, “Maybe being pregnant isn’t so bad. Everyone kind of just waits on you hand and foot.”
“I think you should talk to Tony, Y/N,” Pepper reiterated. “It’s perfectly normal to feel nervous. I’m sure most mothers to be do feel nervous. And I don’t think he’ll brush you off.”
“Sometimes he does,” you muttered, taking a drink of your tea.
“I think… with something important like this, he’ll actually listen. He’s not a complete ass.” You smiled softly at that and she nodded. “Trust me.”
Knowing how excited Tony was about the baby – Pepper did not need to tell you that herself, he made it abundantly clear to you. He had been asking you if you had thought about how you wanted to decorate the nursery already – made the thought of a conversation difficult. Tony was not one to be dissuaded from something he wanted, especially something important. He was stubborn to a fault. But maybe she was right.
“It wouldn’t hurt to try,” you admitted.
She nodded encouragingly.
Happy returned with the banana from the communal space outside their offices.
“Are we going to go soon? Do you know?” you asked him, as he handed it to you.
“Tony’s got another meeting and then we’re going.”
You sighed, leaning back on the couch. You knew ‘another meeting’ could range from five minutes to an hour depending on who it was. “Thank you. This will help,” you said holding up the banana, weakly.
Happy nodded, “Of course.”
“Emailing it,” Pepper told him and he thanked her before walking out of the office.
You blew out a raspberry as soon as he was gone. “I suppose I should go out and leave you to your work. Plus it’ll be easier to find me whenever Tony does want to go. I don’t want that to take longer than necessary. I’m serious, I’m starving.” You stood up from the chair and told her sincerely, “I’ll figure out how to approach this.”
“Good,” she said, nodding again. “It’ll be fine.”
You wished you felt as confident as she sounded.
