I've realized how clingy I am to my gods. And. To be quite honest, I've seen too many people saying it's bad to be so. To be attached to them.

I understand the statement, but, at the same time, loving and getting attached to your deities is a part of the journey. It's bound to happen when you bond, one way or another. Stronger, or weaker. You'll get used to them. Comfortable. Regardless of what type of relationship you may have with them. (Romantic, parental, mentor, ect.)

And it isn't a bad thing!

For example, I've found out Hekate is my soul mother. And, ever since, I've been purely a mama's boy to her. Sleeping in her arms and spending time burying myself in her presence. I don't find it humiliating or shameful like I thought it would - I thought, since they're a god, it doesn't matter if we have a strong soul bond between us. "I should stay in a mortals place." I was always told, I always thought.

I'll say this for free, you're loved. You're worthy of expressing it, of feeling it, of being vulnerable and soft with it. Being yourself. Especially with your gods. Especially with the ones who are spoused to your soul.

Your deities love you. You're allowed to love them back. You're allowed to cry to them until you can't breathe. You're allowed to hug on to them and have them to hold you lovingly. You're allowed to say how much you love them and feel their reciprocation flowing through your soul.

Divine love is euphoric. It's something so powerful and raw. Something so spectacular. To feel their love rush through you is greater than any drug in the world. The very hands that have power to rip you to shreds instead caress your skin and adore you. That love and cherish you just as much as you do them, more than you can comprehend. And you're worthy of feeling it.

There's no shame in feeling love, in giving love, &/or receiving love from the gods. It's one of the very foundations of why we worship in the first place. Love has infinite forms, love is various between each individual. It's in everything. So why deny it? Why try and tell people that it's wrong, or that it's blasphemy when simply everything, in one way or another, comes back to love?

Love your deities. Let them love you. It's your heart. Don't let others tell you how to use it.

When you choose your peace over any conflict, you honor Athena. When you warm yourself up by sheltering yourself in blanket, you honor Hestia. When you listen to Ocean sounds, you honor Poseidon. When you smell flowers, you honor Persephone. When you admire the coolness of first day of Autumn, you honor Hades. When you wear your favourite jewellery, you honor Hephaestus. When you smile, you honor Aphrodite. When you exercise, you honor Ares. When you light a torch in a dark room, you honor Hekate.

Your body is a shrine to Gods, your being an act of devotion for them. You, by yourself, are enough for them.

🪄 Subtle Hekate Worship🕯️

Donate clothes, food, hygiene products, and the like to homeless shelters

Support food banks and homeless or animal shelters

Visit cemeteries; if allowed (please ask permission first), leave flowers on graves

Have a candle that reminds you of her (no altar needed)

Wear jewelry that reminds you of her

Keep a picture of her in your wallet

Have a stuffed animal polecat, dog, or toad

Have imagery of torches, crossroads, or magic around

Honor your ancestors; honor any spirits in your life

Volunteer at an animal or homeless shelter

Cook a warm meal for someone in need

Take care of yourself physically

Take a self-care bath/shower, especially those with herbs or candles

Visit a crossroads; walk/hike on paths that have a crossroads and pick the direction that calls to you

Take a walk during the new, half, or full moon (only if it is safe to do so in your area)

Take time to notice the phases of the moon; meditate under each one, and learn their meanings

Start a garden; tend to plants, especially herbs

Study herbalism; study the history of witchcraft

Ground yourself regularly

Include her within spell work, if you do any; practice discreet methods of spell-casting

Learn non-obvious divination methods; cartomancy, pyromancy, carromancy, etc.

Burn incense, if able; frankincense is great

Drink herbal teas; cook with herbs

Practice mindfulness and emotional regulation

Honor your home/space; keep it clean, and make it feel like your own

At the end of each month, cook a good meal and make drinks with added honey

Baking raisin and currant cakes

Practice patience and understanding

Work on your decision-making skills; what do YOU want? What do YOU need? What are YOUR goals/passions?

Making a bonfire; gathering around it, alone or with loved ones

Learning to have more confidence in your decisions and actions; you know what's best for you more than anyone else

To do this, you should prepare a offering (bread, honey, and herbs, or any other items that you feel would be suitable for her) and then go to a crossroads during the witching hour between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. Place your offering under the crossroads sign and say a prayer to invoke Hecate. Speak with sincerity and humility, and ask for guidance and aid in whatever aspect of your life you feel most in need of support. Remember to listen for signs and messages that Hecate may bring you.

WHAT ARE SIGNS THAT HECATE WANTS ME TO WORK WITH HER?

This doesn’t just go for dogs, but for any kind of canine species.

An offering given to her is thus infused with the energies of the Underworld and may have a powerful impact on the consumer, if eaten. I never had a good relationship with my mother. She had me too young, never healed or even thought she needed it. Since I'm a transgender in this vessel, she only pushed me out more. Grew close to despising me. And... I despised her too. For a very long time. I cried the most tears over her, out of the fear, anger, and pure sorrow that she smashed into me.

I don't like to address her as my mother, to be quite honest. I never really did. She never felt like such to me.

For so long, I felt very alone. I had no mother, and whatever father figures I had were just as, if not more horrible. My family didn't feel like family. Nobody approved of me and my identity or life styles. I lived in such constant fear of everything and everyone, I developed many problems.

But, then... Hekate happened.

I had little hints of her being around for a long while, but I was afraid to accept her calls. I was afraid, since I had heard she didn't like her sons. That she treated her daughters more lovingly than she would her male soul children. Multiple people had hammered such a perspective that I was simply ignoring her out of fear of her shaming me, hating me, or pushing me into things I wasn't ready for.

...

Oh, god. I was so wrong.

Hekate, mother Hekate... She's so gentle. She's so soft and loving to me. Her cold hands tenderly swipe away my tears and she pats down my wet face with moon tissues.

Draping my hair in stars and tucking me in with a blanket full of the cosmos. Holding me in her arms as if I were the most precious boy in forever to her. Deeming me so beautiful and irreplaceable, she takes such time with mending my motherly issues, with mending my perspectives on myself...

She dips me into a sea of peace, never have I felt such - safety with someone in this way. I've never said "I miss my mother" until I allowed Hekate into my life. I've never felt comfortable regarding to anybody as "mama" until I felt her touch. The love of the moon rushing through my veins and making me feel so - ethereal.

She embraces me as her son, she cradles all of my wounds and soothes them until the pain ceases. She... Makes me feel loved. In a way I never thought I'd even be comfortable with thinking of. With the thought of having... A mom.

Such dark beauty of the night, a queen of the moon and stars lets me rest my head upon her chest and feel as if all of my trauma regarding maternal love has dissolved... Thank you, mother Hekate.
