the way you get specific NC items on Neopets is absolutely deranged and frankly I'm amazed it works at all

So basically you have the NC Mall, where is where you go to spend NC (NC being a separate currency from the standard game currency that you buy with real money). Sounds fine, right?

Well the problem is that the mall tends to only have an item in stock for about a month, give or take. Once an item has left it almost never comes back, save for rare exceptions that usually involve some form of chance (such as randomly getting them from mystery capsules).

So in order to get basically any item that you missed during that very short period, you have to trade with other users. You can't trade NC itself or NP; you can ONLY trade NC items for NC items.

Now, in order to trade those items, you have to have something called gift boxes. You get a few boxes from redeeming NC and a few from dailies, but they mostly come from something called Gift Box Mystery Capsules (abbreviated: GBCs/caps). Because of this, "caps" are their own currency of sorts used to give a baseline idea of item value. One item may be worth 1 cap, 10 caps, etc. Some can get as high as 100 depending on item rarity.

Now you know what item you're looking for, and you know what the cap value of that item is, so now you have to make a list of what you have to trade with and what you're looking for. Nowadays you do this through Jellyneo's wishlists, but back in ye olden days you had to hand-code an HTML/CSS list to host on your pet pages.

Now, with everything set up, you just need to find a trading partner. There's no centralized place to trade NC, so you have to do this by either:

Making a post on the Neoboards and praying someone with the item you want happens to see it and will be interested in a trade

Try to find a person to trade with using JN's wishlists, which you then shoot a Neomail off to (and keep in mind this is a recent development, as you couldn't previously mention fansites like JN on Neopets itself)

Then you just have to hope that you get some kind of a response instead of just being ghosted or rejected, which can be extremely difficult depending on how desirable the item is. This can take weeks if not months. Once you have a partner, you both send each other your trade items on a trust basis because, once again, there's no official system in place to do any of this.

And then you just do that very simple process for every single customization you ever do

i know the galra had ten thousand years and unlimited resources to build up their defences and offences, to create an insane amount of weapons, to do evil experiments, and rule far across the universe, but HOW does it go from voltron being the defender of the universe, the most powerful weapon in the universe, something that zarkon has been hunting after for ten thousand years, something that made sendak (a very strong galra commander who would not let anyone stand in his way, according to himself) gasp and RUN.

yes he didnt fully run away but he retreated; he watched his battle cruiser get blown to fucking pieces, and remember this is the first time the paladins formed voltron. there was no sword. it was like their second or third time flying in their lions, and the only one that has had consistent flight simulations and training for however long is lance, and even then i think we saw him struggle to strategise a battle plan when going after the yellow lion with hunk because we heard him say he would cover hunk, we saw him carry that out but then get overwhelmed by the galra fighters in the air and take off after them.

hes a damn good pilot, and they all are, especially in the lions, but this is on a next level to what they could've been training for at the garrison.

so, this takes me to my point, why in the fucking world was voltron so fucking nerfed in the later seasons. like yes i dont want an easy win for voltron every battle, yknow, its about them working together as a team, its about voltron not always being the solution (aka when its better for them to split off into lions while they strategise), its about them actually coming up with strategies instead of just going in voltron first and hoping for the best.

its been a while since i watched the later seasons but rn im mostly thinking of atlas. like it just doesnt really make sense to me tbh? to build the atlas, yes, its essentially a replacement for the castleship, a place for a team to watch voltron from the sky, provide back up, but then to have it form into a voltron-esque robot ??? i just dont think thats where they should have taken it.

im glad for the castle of lions to take an important role in some episodes, where again the answer lies outside of JUST voltron, but it doesnt really make sense to build another giant robot.

it kind of takes away the development the paladins are supposed to go through as well, to work together better and stronger as a team thus opening up more weapons from voltron and learning how to fight in different ways.

idk i think the entire thing was kinda over-thought at the end as they were trying to keep the show going, but missing some of the other storylines they could've gone down, (black paladin lance, lotor redemption arc (which he did seemingly have but all along they planned to throw that in the bin), the team coming together as friends more often developing their bond as voltron but also as people, the team seeing their families again, not killing off shiro's FUCKING CANON BOYFRIEND IN A STUPID FUCKING SHITTY WAY ADAM DIDNT DESERVE TO DIE YALL ARE JUST COWARDS, and also the team kinda reflecting back to how they were jn the beginning and realizing they have grown (i say the team but i mostly mean lance and hunk because the writers just did not give two shits about them they really didnt get the chance to become fully thought out characters, they just had some insecurities and interests that were ignored until convenient then ignored again)).

"Mick?"

Mick hummed in response to his name being called but he didn't look up from the person in his arms.

"Why is there a McLaren driver asleep on you in your drivers room?", Sebastian sounded amused, and Mick finally glanced up at the older man. The omega looked amused, eyebrow raised and teasing grin on his lips.

"Don't start again", Mick whispered, shaking his head at the older before looking at Lando as he let out a little whimper in his sleep.

There was a little crease between the others eyes that made Mick frown. He rumbled softly, hoping the soothing sound would ease the tension but it was as stubborn as the little omega was. His hand moved almost automatically in response to its stubbornness, his fingers finding soft curls and gently massaging the others head until Lando let out a pleased sigh.

He could feel the others relax against him, and he couldn't help but smile as he felt a little purr against his chest. It wasn't audible, but that made it even more adorable and special.

Everyone knew omegas only purred jn their sleep when they felt truly safe and cared for. The knowledge that he made Lando, one of the most flighty omegas in terms of people he tolerated feel this safe, made Mick's in alpha preen.

"You two are adorable", Sebastian chuckled, raising his hands in defense when Mick glared at him, "That's all I'll say. I'll let Jon know where he is"

Mick didn't have a chance to answer before Sebastian was gone, leaving him alone once more in the hastily built nest that Lando had constructed before dragging Mick into it to cuddle.

He knew he should probably wake the other. That Jon was probably half panicked trying to find him, but then he saw the little smile on Lando’s face as the others face shifted to rest closer to the scent gland on Micks neck.

"You're a little menace", Mick whispered, trying not to laugh as he realised that the other was after waking up moments before but was playing it as if he were fast asleep.

They both knew Sebastian would have dragged him back to Jon if he was awake.

"Ans you're comfy", Lando murmured, eyes never opening as he snuggled closer, "Smell nice too"

If those words had Mick flushing, he would never admit it.

Hi! I have just recently deciding to switch careers and leave the vet industry , go into tech. Have spent past 2 years in tech school to become a vet assistant but after being in my field, I always wondered how it would be like to have a career in tech, ive always thought for so long that being in tech comes w Math and science and i suck at both 🤣🤣🤣. so I’m deciding to enroll myself in a completely online program to become an IT tech yet i have always admired hacking and coding so without getting sooo much into it, which leads me to my question:

- what do I have to do to be in the code career?

- do I have to go to boot camp out of my state or should look into going online completely?

- is coding beginner friendly especially as someone who doesn’t have ABSOLUTE NO IDEA about coding?

Please let me know and I love that I have found a community of women jn the tech industry, it’s pretty inspiring which why I want to go into the tech career.

Hi Stone, first of all welcome to our small and growing community.

I'm glad you're giving yourself this chance to try technology and see if it's for you or go back to vet or even go to art(yes I stalked you UEUHEHUEHUE) and I also thank you for finding my opinion relevant.

As you said that you wanted a career and that you are interested in coding and hacking, here you need to choose which one to prioritize. Because whether back-end, front-end, mobile, fullstack or cybersecurity there will be a lot to study, practice, make mistakes and practice again.

Here I give an addendum that if you don't know what these areas mean in technology, I recommend doing a search, reading and watching videos on youtube about it to see what might please you.

So based on what you've told me, again I think the best first step is to know what you want to prioritize and what you want to make money from.

Because trust me, you won't be able to study everything together at the same time. And if you manage to find an hour, there will be a burnout, so take it easy my friend. (from personal experience)

Even more so if you want a job, it's best to focus on 1 and then move on to others. Then find out what might be best for you / what you most identify with.

I also like hacking, I have books and I have already found courses. But this is something I want to study as a hobby and a safety measure (after all, there's no shortage of motherfuckers doing shit with others with that knowledge). So I put it in the background. Because my priority is money and hacking has work, but not in my country.

Now about entering the code career. Despite being a junior/student, I've seen a lot and I've also learned in these 2 years in the technology community in my country and watching you from the outside, so I can have a more mature view to help you with that.

So let's go:

1) - To know what you need to do to enter your career in code, you need to know how the technology market is in your country.

Because with all these layoffs, we have a lot of professionals with experience and academically well qualified and depending on the country, we currently have more demand for professionals than job offers. (Here in Brazil this is happening, because the layoffs in North America reflected here).

And here I don't want to discourage you, I just want to give you a realistic parameter for you to enter the area without illusions and not get frustrated like me and a bunch of people on the internet. (I wish someone had guided me like that). Because what we have most on social media is people making it seem like programming is easy and getting a job is even easier, or that you're going to earn A LOT since you're just a junior and THAT'S NOT THE REALITY..

BUT all the effort pays off in the end.

Within that, here I think it's cool that you try to observe what vacancies in your country ask for juniors/interns.

From Skills like knowing python to asking college or accepting bootcamp. See what's most in demand out there and within that see if you like what's in demand.

I tell you this, because here in Brazil, for example, we currently have more vacancies for internships (and here you need to be enrolled in a college to do an internship) than for juniors without college and only with bootcamps. So if we want a job around here, the first thing is to go to college and not be completely self-taught. So again, research and study your country's technology market.

In my conception TODAY getting a job in programming without college will be 10x more difficult than in 2020 for example, things have changed. The market now is not lacking developers, quite the contrary, now it has hight demands from developers but not for JOBS.

What the market wants most are senior people (and I've seen seniors I know saying that after layoffs even for them it's more willing to get a job, again supply and demand), but there are still opportunities for us beginners, in some countries there are more and in others less.

Speaking in the sense of the United States from what I observed from the US (content producers and twitter) + my experiences here in Brazil.I don't know the current situation of the technology market in Africa, the rest of Latin America , Asia and Europe.

Of course, you can be lucky and succeed without , but I, for one, got tired of believing that I would be lucky and be one of those people who succeed and changed my strategy to get a job.

Or you could also join a job-guaranteed bootcamp. Check how it works and if you have this type in your country.

And here we come to your second question.

2) The answer is it depends.

For example, will this bootcamp in your state guarantee you a job or is it possible to do an internship at a company or will it connect you with companies after the program?Or is he recognized by technology companies in your state?

If so, I would recommend doing it and dedicating yourself to getting in.

Because look, if they guarantee you an job is even better , you'll just have to study and do what they tell you to get your job.

But if you don't guarantee it, but this training has merit/respect in the market, it also pays off.

Here, I wanted to take the opportunity and talk about apprenticeship.

In our community we have our queen @xiacodes @xiabablog (it's the same person), she did an apprenticeship and today she is a junior developer in UK .

She shared her journey on her blog and is also the most engaged and resource sharing person in our community.

Here I would like to say that FOR ME Apprenticeship is one of the smartest strategies today to get into the technology market.

I myself will start on a Monday and it was my solution to get a job in code by the end of the year. (I'll talk about this in another post too)

So I recommend looking for apprenticeship in your country / state and how they work there.

And obviously observe and read the rules of the program to see if there are any catches that put you in absurd debt or contractual fines.

And see if you can handle it if you have the possibility.

Here I give an addendum that if you find an apprenticeship but that you will earn little in the beginning, for you to analyze well before saying no. Because salary we can evolve after we have experience, the important thing for us juniors/students is to get the first experience and the rest later becomes easier. (At least that's what the Mid /seniors I know say)

Now if in your country you don't have this kind of opportunity, I would recommend trying to see if it would be possible to do bootcamp/online courses + college to get an internship.

And you don't even have to start with paid courses, in my opinion if the bootcamp won't guarantee you a job, it's not worth paying for it. We have a lot of free resources on the internt (youtube biggest school) .

But it's up to you.

-Freecodecamp

-Odin project (And it has both fullstack with ruby and with node.js. )

For me, paying will only pay off when you don't find quality resources for what you want to study. So I would advise you to always think about whether it pays off or not.

Accessible paid courses:

- Codecademy

- Udemy (there are good courses there and there are always promotions)

+++ Here I also wanted to talk about knowing that public colleges (100% free) are not possible in all countries or when they are, they are very elective and difficult to get into for poor people as it is here in Brazil.

But here despite that, studying A LOT to pass the exams and having worked to save money and support yourself until you get scholarships to support yourself (and if you do), you manage to get into the best colleges that are free and that is more viable than being poor and being able to pay for college in the US, for example.

So I know that it might not be very viable depending on where you live and whether or not you are a resident of the country.

So I don't know if college can be an affordable thing for you, but if not that you can find the best strategy to achieve your financial prosperity in technology!

The one where they only hire people with bootcamps and not colleges and open in the summer there.

And despite the layoffs, I still think there are more entry level openings there than here HUEHUEEHEU.

3) What do you mean by friendly?

If you mean easy, no, she probably won't be friendly to you at all AND THAT'S OKAY.

As you yourself said that you know absolutely nothing, it will be natural for you to have difficulty, to think about giving up and to make a lot of mistakes to get it right.

It's going to be a process of failing and trying again and again.

NOTHING IS EASY. And since you've already taken a veterinary course, I think you already know that things are really difficult. So this is another reminder that it won't be any different here.

BUT it will end well because EVERYTHING IS LEARNED.

And that also goes for math, if you ever have to deal with it (and if you go to cs college you will) you will make a lot of mistakes, but you will succeed, because EVERYTHING IS LEARNED based on trial and error.

And that doesn't mean you're bad or stupid, just that you're learning something completely from scratch. It won't be overnight that you will understand, it may take months or years, but persisting you will succeed. THIS IS NORMAL.

I cried (literally) to do conditional algorithms in 2021, I banged my head in books, said I would never make it and felt like the biggest dumbass in the world and today 2023 are the easiest things for me. I have no problem making them.

And that was only possible because I didn't give up.

Here I wanted to advise you to start your programming studies with low expectations, to help you manage your frustrations and maybe burnouts. It won't be overnight that you will become the best programmer and do many projects at the level of a senior developer or the people who do tutorials on youtube.

They will be small steps that lead you to your goals in studies. Again, constants.

There are people who could get their ek code jobs in 3 to 6 months of study.

BUT FOR ME, currently having a plan to get an opportunity between 2 years and 4 years (if you actually go to college) study is the healthiest way to pursue your studies and goals. If you get it sooner, even better for you, but if not, you'll be fine with yourself because it's within the period you stipulated.

Finally, I ask you not to take anything I say as absolute truth.

Question what you read Take what I said, analyze it and see how it works in your reality.

I also recommend trying to find women in technology from your country on linkedin and see if they can help you with tips and so on. I feel very good knowing so many Brazilian women in tech since I did this, my network there is composed only of them precisely to create a place without judgment but of welcome and inspiration.

Well, I invested about 3 hours answering the best way I can, I hope you read it and that it helps you.

Have you seen the new jk ck ad and to which jkkrs are using the rhetoric that he is gay and doing this as a rebellion to scooter braun's made up persona of het global star in seven and I'm here be seeing these same ppl say that tae wearing these type of queer in his first solo release is not a big deal bc he's proven straight and dates jn ( I don't doubt but he's not even given the benefit of bi/pan ) but just bc jk acts like this in a contractual ad that has no personal thoughts or ideas (and as a queer person, I see what they're trying to do bc they've done this type of thing for other make stars like HS) and for his first release he still went with the het agenda just for his global superstar male and deleted his thirst trap for his boyfriend just last week for this same agenda (again the theory of these jkkrs) but this week his back to his rebellion era which make me think if he has some type personality splits but whatever..

What really makes me angry is jm is seen as some panicked/ashamed gay by these shippers just bc he stopped giving moments to their ship and this guy as some rebel just because of his pandering to these shippers but when you see that jm released art work that can be seen by many with many sexual and gender queer references without involving other ppl is what a rebellion queer is but I have yet to see other members especially jk in this case to do something mild to even allude that they're in the queer side like all these ppl have are magazine/ads and jm with them to mostly make them gay but jm is seen queer even without mentioning these ppl, which makes me think of why I never see jkkrs discuss jm's solo queer moments to argue he's queer but always insisting jk's gay (& don't get me wrong bc he can be gay/bi/pan or even get but these ppl's dumb reasons are just really stupid) once every two weeks that it now seems like they're just manifesting it to happen but yeah and I'm sorry this ask is all over the place like I just don't understand this panicked gay jm when that barked for usher in a live for millions of fans..

Jungkook is literally doing his job. Like what's so hard to understand for these people. The ad requires a certain kind of look and he's going for it. He's not the one who plans it. And he had the chance to express his sexuality in his art and he portrayed himself as straight. So there's no point in arguing.

Even if anyone else was gay in the group they wouldn't have enough guts to do what jimin did.

What jimin has been doing in his art need some solid guts. People don't talk enough about how brave jimin is to express himself in a homophobic country especially when his career is on line.

I don't know about jk. But I'm sure other members are straight. And i believe yoongi is queer. But still he didn't have enough guts to express himself. I'm not saying they have to. They don't have to because it's a homophobic country and it can jeopardize their career. But we should acknowledge and praise how brave jimin is for doing something like this.

Jikookers love to make jimin some damsel in distress who needs jungkook to help him(I swear it makes me so mad) and they think jungkook is some rebel. But what's exactly his rebellion? Coming live at ass o clock at night. You call this rebellion? Oh he came live without company's permission. How brave. He's rebelling against the company to protect jimin when there's literally zero connection to jimin.

And for clothes. It always makes me laugh. How can wearing a certain type of clothes make you gay? That's just stereotypical. Men can't always wear boring suits. What's the point of fashion if it's not changing?

They were even calling taehyung gay because of his clothes in the mv. Dumb people.

But what can we do? They're always gonna think what they wanna think. No matter how dumb and stereotypical they sound. They don't care.

Now i’m having children headcanon brainrot and sorry if this is something you don’t really like talking about(gonna put each kid headcanons with my simps in different asks to not make them too long and to give me a bit of room to ramble(sorry in advance))

Like, with Leona, I feel like his genes would be more dominant and so our kid probably has darker skin and hair but maybe my eyes(which are an icy blue/grey) and he would love to be around his dad and if this is when we’re still in school(vut married), well, Savanaclaw kinda all are protective of the small royal and Leona skips class more to watch our son(the teachers shake their head at him) or to join our class to watch him while we have to do things in alchemy

And with Divus and Crowley they absolutely dote on him and i feel like we get most of his clothes from father Divus and Crowley tries to spoil him but Divus says that since he had all this money before then why couldnt he make his pup’s(us) living situation better

And Ruggie being the trustworthy AND chaotic uncle is the best, he can be trusted to take care of him but also gonna teach him crime

Jack would probably be best babysitter cause the kid will be safe and watched over and Jack would try to teach the kid to always do what’s right and to go for justice and also maybe try to exercise with them(kid strapped to the chest as he goes on a morning jog or using the kid as a dumbbell)

Leona also would probably be really good during pregnancies with catering to our every need and cravings but also hate it when we wake up jn the middle of the night for ice cream and look like we would cry if we dont get any and carry our things to classes and maybe just join our classes cause he doesn’t want anything to happen to us and also just glares at Ace and Deuce and just ignores the teachers when they tell him to go to his own class and eventually they just give up and give him the work from his own classes and make him help us with projects

Also lots more cuddiling and marking cause we are caring royalty now, and we are his and no one is going to take his wife from him and also probably sends Ruggie to get lots of food from the cafeteria and eventually the first year geoup just comes to join us jn the gardens during lunch cause Leona is a territorial lion and they also are wanting to hang out with us and Leona is glaring at them the entire time while we eat and talk

I love fan babies! I have several for the twst characters that I want to post about but haven't had the chance to because I suck as naming characters 😭😭 the pain of it all. I have Lilias daughter and malleus daughter designed (he also has another son and daughter but they aren't names or designed yet 😭) no need to be sorry.

okay so massive scenario..

atg!mc had developed a serious fear of being in love and cheated on after watching her father repeat the same actions on her mother for her entire life; gets caught cheating, begs for forgiveness, swears to never do it again, her mother takes him back only for him to cheat once again. so when she actually feel in love with jimin, the thought of her lifelong best friend coming up to her with “proof” of jimin being in a romantic, intimate with one of his coworkers, she immediately believes it. confronts jimin about it and refuses to believe his innocence no matter how much he begs her to believe him. knowing he’s turn her in, she stays but with a few rules. he isn’t allowed to sleep with her on their bed, no more hugs and kisses, she doesn’t even want him to speak to her. this leads to jimin crying every night on the couch o the point he will literally puke on himself from all the crying. if he would try to hug her or hold her hand she weird roughly push him or slap his hand away hard. begging her daily to believe him, which she refuses. this goes on for a few months until mcs found out by her best friend boyfriend, her friend had lied about everything. the texts and pictures were all edited. everything. all because the best friend had wanted jimin since they were all in high school and hated mc for having his full attention. finding this out, mc rushed home to see jimin in the couch sitting straight up, playing with his hands, silently crying while big tears rush down his face. she instantly drops to her knees jn front of him, wrapping her arms around his waist, sobbing of ho me sorry she was. she begged him to forgive her, to not ever leave her, pleading that she would do anything for him to give her another chance. she had put him through hell for months, never believing a word from him, being absolutely ruthless towards him.

would jimin take her back instantly just being happy she finally loves him again or after the time he had to think about everything, the distrust, the meanness, the hatred.. would that actually be the last straw for him?

Oooooooh the angst! This was also so incredibly sad, like picturing Jimin like that just hurts me deep in my soul 😭

But, as crazy as this sounds, he would take her back. He is just so completely obsessed with her and craves her love so deeply that he would take her back in an instant. He wants her love and her love only. I think he would bring it up every now and then just to remind her of how loyal he was despite the way she treated him. And while that would make the MC feel bad he's also right, she would realize how incredibly loyal Jimin is.

Also, I am so sorry I made you wait so long for a reply! You have been in my inbox waiting for a while now! But, this was fun to read so thank you for sending this to me, I hope you still get to see this response 💜

anyways thoughts on the schedules so far? (have a nice day as usual hehe)

i don't put much stock in gamepress, or datamines, personally. i've been around in arknights for long enough that people thought from datamines that darknights memoir would be in october of 2020 and it wasn't until january of 2021 and things like twilight of wolumonde got shuffled because of it.

my theory on the schedule stands, and it's that cc is a dead week to give everyone a breather on dorothy, and she's gonna overlap with the dossoles holiday rerun, followed by mlynar and near light rerun. or even that they have enough time to space all of that out slightly more.

why? because this game is predictable enough with its limited ops that limited ops on the english servers try to hit on the anniversaries and halfiversaries. it's only rational based on their past behavior- and that alone- that they're going to do il siracusano at the end of august for the halfiversary. this is the whole reason they moved gavialter up. every time arknights has made a big schedule change like this it's to put up a limited operator for an anniversary.

that leaves them months to throw in everything that got pushed back for gavialter. read: dorothy. contingency contract is right now rather than dorothy because arknights' scheduling is usually pretty kind. they like to take a little bit of a break before throwing a new operator at you, is all.it gives people a chance to recover slightly before dorothy. i'm really not that worried, and i think a lot of people are overblowing it because in my mind there is a infinitesimally small chance that anything but the schedule returning to usual after putting il siracusano on the 3.5 anniversary happens, with chong yue and lin releasing on global 4th anniversary. apart from this, i don't think that the LNY ops are ever going to be actually released on a LNY date, lmao. unless some more schedule shit happens. who knows. they're probably going to want the LNY ops to be halfiversary ops, unfortunately...which is a bit of a shame.

anyway, yeah, tldr, i don't trust gamepress with anything except doing the math to calculate that i have everything to e2lv90m9 mlynar (i do) and people love worrying like there isn't enough time between today and august to fit in everything that got rotated because the arknights team likes making limited ops exist for anniversary events.

(Gary anon) Not gonna lie, but Journeys reminded me why I watch anipoke; or rather keep an eye from a distance, on its events and how you need keep your expectations reasonable, when it has pulled stuff like Thunder Armor and Tobias. (In TRio's case, the seriousness gets dropped after the halfway point, I think I even remembered that being "announced" in a trailer. Dawn's BW return was apparently mixed too, but most of the blame was put on Iris.

(Part 2) As if Dawn has never been snarky before. Really says something when some; just like with Misty during SM, think Iris' development was "improved" when she came back in JN. Gives away much of BW you watched) That, and all the continuity probably took a hit on things too. Just for the circumstances to get it to work alone. (When you're a byproduct of the series and its writing, the fandom is going bare the weight of the reception on you)

(Part 3) I don't think I've seen so much flak against the staff since XY, but that was mainly for one thing. Everything in JN has got attacked in every angle. (Even if there was a new Eeveelution, it's really hard for Chloe to fully come back from this, unless her [and Goh] continue into the next series and are given something a bit more consistent) Doesn't help that Yamper looked like it going to join her. (Apparently Tobias' VA caught it too. Wish them all well)

(Part 4) Well, we got a Goh poster coming up this month that looked similar to the Chloe one last month. Project Mew after the semifinals is looking more likely. (Also seem to have gotten the first sign of S/V anipoke merch, so we're probably get news on what's up soon and Ash's fate. If he does continue, I wonder if it'll be a new character that introduces Paldea to him or Gary works his magic again a third time)

(Part 5) The ultimate spectacle in the making of Ash meeting Red is upon us in Pokemon Masters. And more S/V news! Seems like they're trying to keep things more under wraps this time, but at least we got the new gimmick and more on the open world. I see most took to the new Wooper that dropped, and Fidough. And the new characters. xD

Man, people look for any excuse to hate on Iris, huh. I wonder why. (I do not wonder, I think we both Know.)

Yeah, Journeys was ambitious, and there have been some... issues because of that.

I guess so, but man. The fact that some people direct more intense hatred toward Goh than I do toward characters that remind me of my actual literal abusers... I think maybe this fandom needs to chill a little sometimes. Acting like that about a fictional ten year old is weird.

Yeah, Journeys really has been picked apart for literally everything.

Alas. I mean, maybe they stand a chance at that, but I doubt that’d be received well either.

D: Covid’s been hitting so many people. Hopefully they can all recover!

Oh, makes sense. Honestly really excited to see how the Project Mew stuff plays out, I feel like I’m one of the like five people who’s actually enjoying that plotline.

Oh? I have to say I’m really hoping Ash will continue into Paldea because I would miss him too much if he didn’t. Would love to see Gary do his thing a third time.

That’s going to be fun! Excited for Ash to maybe be a playable sync pair? Ash Ketchum telling me good morning would be the ultimate joy.

I opted not to watch the SV stuff because I like to go into new Pokemon games with as little prior knowledge as possible (and proceeded to go on Twitter and mute as many relevant words/phrases I could think of for the same reason) but! Glad people have responded well for the most part! Hopefully these games will be received more positively than SwSh were, I do not want to go through that ordeal again. Just about three more months until release, that’s exciting!

September 30th 2022 (214)

._+ Mis-eye-ventures Day LXVII +_.

Late at night my nephew and I were chatting, going through some deep stuff. I played a randomized Gorillaz playlist (which we both love), and got some random but timely song choices, amongst them "The Pink Phantom", which lyrics hit hard and close home.

It is most definitely cliche and corny, but the day it came out, I was at a really low point, after a then recent, devastating separation, and the whole mood fit like a glove.

As movies now premier in the middle of the week, my nephew had clases early in the morning. I got up, commanded him to shower, whilst I got some breakfast done. He was well nourished and ready once my cousin came to pick him up. He is a really nice kid, but sometimes his actions towards her sister and my cousin are a bit tricky. As if he were mad and incapable of processing his damaging emotions.

Taking advantage of my early awakening, I went with my mom to her job, then I took my chance to walk back home, I tried with a new route, which allowed me to enter the Bazaar I mentioned a few entries back. It is a fantastical place. I found some old CDs, books and more. Plus, I could get my freshly arrived friend some gifts. As a cherry on top, I found a match box between some forgotten books, it has the name of a Mexican restaurant, with an English Slogan and a German address... I'm highly confused and I love it.

I kept the walking going, at least to the nearest metro station. Then. Headed again to the Vans store, jn order to pick the sneakers (hopefully). Apparently his size is still unavailable, but his girlfriend's (?) is, so on his orders, I bought to different models for her. They both shine in the dark.

I went south to meet my Uni friend, whom have arrived yesterday (I think) from Spain. He had a card holder and a notebook for me, both with the map of Madrid's metro system, I love them to death. He also got me a little car, full metal and moving parts, a great little thing. I got him an old CD, from a 2000s pop band, a rare encounter, as well as beautifully illustrated book on cactus care-taking. We met in a little japanese-themed store, so we could get oir hand on some Gachapons. After much deliverance, we sided for the hide-and-seek Moomin collection. I got Mama-Moomin, he got Child-Moomin, or just Moomin. We ate some meat nearby and I rushed back north to catch my family for an oddly deranged dinner.

Pokemon Journeys Appreciation Post...

2020 is coming to an end, and has certainly been an eventful year. However it was not in a good way! But it was a good first year of Pokémon Journeys, so I want to give it some appreciation for helping me through these difficult times.

Now how can I not start by giving some appreciation to our boys Ash and Goh and their Pokémon first. I love the dynamic these two have with each other. Ash's has got himself a pretty good Pokémon Journeys Team, and what better way to start it off by giving him some Pokémon fans have waited years for him to catch. And they all have such personality, I can't get enough of our Same as Ever Pikachu Huggable Dragonite, Mischievous Gengar, Cute Riolu-Stoic Lucario, and while we still haven't gotten much personality from Farfetch'd yet. I can't wait to see it grow and show more personality next year.

Though while I like Ash's Lucario, it seems to have taken away some much needed screentime from Ash's other Journeys Team, especially Farfetch'd. So I do hope that next year they give the rest of Ash's Journeys Team some equal attention and screentime instead of keeping them on the sidelines.

And while Goh has already caught almost as many Pokémon as Ash did during his 23 year run in just 1 year. He doesn't have any fixed members aside from Cinderace and Sobble, so not a lot of them have shown much of their personalities. But I do hope we get some more episodes centering some of Goh's Pokémon like JN023 gave them some equal screentime and showed us their individual personalities.

But Cinderace has had different personality traits during it's evolutions, which of course reflects the phases of growing up. I loved Cute and Energetic Scorbunny, and I was shocked that it went to Emo Raboot in such a short time. But I grew to like Raboot's personally as well, cause it's rebellious phase was certainly related to a lot of us as well. Although I'll miss Emo Raboot, I'm glad that we got our Cheerful Fire Bunny back after it evolved into Cinderace. Not only that, it's a lot stronger than Scorbunny since it was able to last longer than Ash's Pikachu against Mewtwo.

And I'm happy that Goh's Sobble also accompanies Goh during his adventures instead of always staying at Cerise Park like Goh's other Pokémon. Besides, Sobble's such an adorable crybaby, and it formed such a cute sibling like bond with Cinderace. And if Goh's the one who catches Grookey, I hope that Cinderace and Sobble form a similar relationship with it as well.

But the one Pokémon I would like give some thanks to is Ash's Dragonite. I will admit that I was like "meh" on Pokémon Journeys during the first 2 months, cause saying goodbye to the Sun and Moon Series was hard. Though I did truly love the first and second episodes, it was kinda hard to move on from the Sun and Moon Series. But just when it seemed that each episode would be just as predictable as the last, the episode where Ash caught the most adorable Dragonite certainly exceeded expectations. So much so that it was Trending on Twitter for a while. After that, it slowly but surely became easier for me to move on and enjoy new Pokémon Journeys episode each week. And now I'm looking forward to what each new episode brings to us and I'm enjoying each and every minute of it.

While Team Rocket's goal will never change! I kinda have some mixed feelings about their New Rocket Vending Suprise Master. I do wish that they would've formed some bonds with the Pokemon the Vending Machine gives them, instead of just using them for battle. On the other hand, I do love the anticipation it always gives us every time it appears as we often don't know what Pokemon Jessie and James are going to get next, so I do like that about it.

But at least we know that this Villainous Idiots will never stop being such loveable goofballs. And Pokeani wouldn't be the same without these guys. I also hope that we get a little bit longer Research Fellows and Team Rocket Trio Truces next year as well than we got in JN040.

I really don't have a lot of complaints about Ash and Goh's goals. Since they completely changed the formula for this series instead of going back to to the usual formula from Generations 1-6. I love that Ash's goal is handled in a different way! After all, Ash has finally won a Game Based Pokémon League in Sun and Moon. So what better way to compete in a completely different league that allows you battle trainers from all over the world while raising your ranks to make it to Master Class. This will be a real test of skill for Ash than any of the other leagues had to offer! The only question I have is if a battle against Ash and The World's Strongest Trainer Leon Top Alolan Father and Son Showdown?!

While Goh's goal of catching one of all kinds of Pokémon took some getting used to, since he doesn't often battle them or forming bonds with them before catching them. I just simply learned to get used to it overtime! Besides, his catching style is based off the Pokémon Go and Let's Go game mechanics. Also when you think about it, Goh is almost like the original version of Ash Ketchum. Who was originally planning to catch a lot of Pokémon (although that was just to try to be better than his rival Gary) until he decided it's better to form bonds with Pokémon than worry about how many he has. While I would be shocked if Goh manages to catch a Legendary Pokémon to keep and it seems a bit strange for a Main Character to catch a Legendary to keep after 23 years. But I love Pokeani so much, so whatever the animators decide, I'll just roll with it. While I do like Goh and wish him the best of luck, just hopefully they won't let him catch Nebby the Solgaleo, or the Lunala Gladion teamed up with.

While Chloe is the First Pokegirl to start off as a recurring character in Pokémon Journeys. She went through some great character development during the first half of Pokémon Journeys. She went from a girl who was "meh" on Pokémon at first to a girl who becomes fascinated with them during her time with Yamper and some adventures with Ash and Goh. And now that she caught herself an Eevee with a similar dilemma as hers, I hope those tweets I saw on Twitter weren't kidding and she'll join Ash and Goh as a Research Fellow sometime next year. (Of course they may not be such reliable sources, so don't get your hopes up) So if she does, I hope she meets some of Ash's previous traveling companions amd recurring characters as well.

Speaking of which, my favorite part of Pokémon Journeys is all of the past characters that have made appearances in just the first year of Pokémon Journeys. It was great to see Lance and Chuck appear in the anime again after all these years, the battle between Ash and Korrina in JN025 was certainly awesome, as well Gurkinn introducing Goh to Mega Evolution, and the Mewtwo from the first movie making an appearance in the main series was not disappointing. Even though Diantha has only made a cameo appearance in JN026, I would like it if she makes a full appearance sometime as well. Perhaps as a Master Class trainer challenging Leon someday?!

But the best one of them all was the Alola Pokémon School Reunion in JN037! It was certainly heartwarming to see Ash reuniting with almost all of his former classmates and catch up with them, as well as reuniting with his Alola Mom and Dad and meeting his new Alolan Little Brother Lei. And although Lillie and her family are still searching for Mohn, I'm so happy that the Aether Siblings made an appearance in this episode as well. I really hope that we'll see even more Aether Siblings soon, and that we'll see them reunite with Mohn. I also really want Chloe to meet Ash's Classmates as well, and Team Rocket reunite with their Alolan Family the next Alola visit as well. I really hope that next year even more of Ash's Past Traveling Companions reappear in Pokémon Journeys as well as other recurring characters and Gym Leaders as well.

I have never seen a more difficult year like 2020, and I can't say whether things will get a little better or even worse in 2021. But Pokémon Journeys is certainly giving me something to look forward to each and every week, as well as the no. 1 reason to see this year through. And even during the unexpected hiatus, it was and is my becon of hope in these dark days cause they bring a lot of Heart, Humor, and Awesome Pokemon Battles as well. So I give this thank you to the Pokeani Community for being there for us during a year like this. And I'm looking forward to what kinds of adventures our Pokemon World Travelers and Team Rocket Trio bring in 2021!

"nice to meet you! before you is I, arataki itto, the one and oni! also known as bettle gladiator itto, the oni sumo king! the... anyway, I have quite a few names, take your pick! right, what is your name?" boomed itto's voice as you approached your table.

itto's introduction was so lengthy that you had almost forgotten your own name.

despite his rather notorious reputation (there were rumours of him being a gang leader!), itto struck you are a really friendly person, or oni!

does not pay attention during classes! so you might have to remind him to do so

itto can sleep with his eyes open. so you won't even be able to know when he wasn't paying attention (⌒_⌒;)

will try to play tic tac toe with you during class. he would do so through passing notes

in the event that you want to play too, the both of you would be furiously scribbling on a piece of paper while sneaking glances at the teacher to not get caught

you usually win in tic tac toe, itto usually gets caught by the teacher

itto is usually confused during class so you can try to help him!

once, you missed school due to certain commitments. itto tried his best to listen in class so that he could write down notes for you. when you returned, he passed the note to you, along with a lollipop

the contents of the notes were barely readable (ノ_<。) but it's alright! itto drew some doodles of onikabuto beetles, ushi and ramen too! you could see the effort he has put in

will attempt to start conversations with you during class! it is up to whether you want to entertain her!

if you want to, the both of you can talk through an entire period. the conversation topics are usually very random. it can be about what pranks hu tao would do next, whether water is wet, literally anything!

if you do not want to talk... hu tao does not give up!

she might be a little disruptive, but she is very fun to be with!

you know textbooks will sometimes include photos of people? hu tao will find all of them and draw moustaches on them. she will try to get you to join in too. she will draw on your textbooks too (ᵔ◡ᵔ)

will doodle on your worksheets. she usually draws coffins, ghosts, plum blossoms or the stone lions that guarded liyue's ministry of civil affairs.

speaking of stone lions, she once brought a miniature stone lion figurine to class

made the whole entire class address the stone figurine by "Whiskers Jn", even the teachers

during exam seasons, or whenever you seemed down, kokomi will leave your favourite snacks and notes of encouragement on your table! kokomi signs them off with a cute fish doodle ミ．．ミ

very attentive during classes! if you missed anything, she will point them out to you

makes homework lists and exam timetables! will make one copy for you if you want!

lunches with her are really peaceful. the both of you have lunch under this huge tree in the school's courtyard! she usually brings a lunchbox with bird egg sushi. if you want, she will make extras for you

the both of you can either chat during lunch, or read!

"ahh, sitting here with you is relaxing. thank you for accompanying me, y/n." kokomi says, a soft smile forming on her face.
