Ok here are my Weirdly Specific Vanderwood headcanons

Was hesitant to post this cuz it kind of spoils my writing, but I'm still constantly debating posting my writing, and making a list is light and fun

TW for drug use, trauma. The vibes get kinda bad after the read more. But then they pick back up a little.

Alright check this out:

Could be very good with technology if they were interested

But as it is they aren't. Computers and smartphones are things they have to deal with for work.

The more analog the better. In fact, they somehow have a tape player in their car, and they keep tapes around. They love the feeling of their music taking up physical space.

Because they're very affected by their environment. Cozy environment equals a cozy Vanderwood. If their space is disorganized they can't focus on anything else.

What they enjoy listening to is mostly old metal and rock. Think Queen, Mötley Crüe. Music that drips glitter and gold.

I mean where do you think they got their haircut and leopard print from if not glam metal

They were raised in the UK and exposure to glam metal androginy was their gender awakening

I headcanon them as bigender and bisexual. Totally not because I'm projecting my gender and sexuality onto them. Nuh-uh. He/they lol

They love beautiful things. Gold, specially. Silk. But they don't allow themselves to wear it. (Yet?)

They own many scarves

Contrary to popular belief I don't think they blush very easily at all. They're very good at keeping their cool. They do, however, avoid eye contact when flustered, sometimes swallow dryly. And if you pay close attention, you'll notice they hold their breath, too.

I see them as a trauma kid. Probably had an absent mother figure and shitty father figure. Very low income childhood household.

Tried to be a good kid for most of their childhood. Realized in high school that that wasn't working, and became a delinquent shithead.

An incident while playing with fire/homemade explosives seriously injured a kid their age and put them in juvie

They got picked up by the agency six months later. They were 16. Kids with nothing to lose make for excellent killers.

Having injured that kid actually fucked them up pretty bad. Their personality did a full 180 after that. Ego death.

They're now completely desensitized to gore. Still find it unhygienic, but not disturbing.

Watch slasher movies as a coping mechanism. Specially shitty old slashers with practical effects.

They're only ever not ashamed of laughing out loud when they're watching slashers or spy movies.

Or if they're doing it sarcastically, I guess

They have OCD. They obsess with cleanliness and numbers.

They're always counting. Very good with quick math cuz they're always doing it. Sometimes a number pops up and they have to tap a joint (wrist, knee) that number of times to avert some grotesque catastrophe.

No one can see the tapping. If anyone sees it, grotesque catastrophe.

Sometimes it's like their sanity relies on everything being perfectly under control. And they're actually pretty good at keeping things under control and preparing for every situation, so you rarely get to see them having to deal with what is, to them, the catastrophe scenario.

They have a lot of practice at analyzing people/psychological and personality profiling. They're also always doing it out of habit. And it is a lot like math. They can't allow themselves to have interactions that aren't transactional, anyways, so socializing ends up being math.

The way they allow themselves to understand value is very practical - they're good if they're useful. That means they enjoy shooting a lot, cause they're good at it.

They have psychosis when on drugs, but didn't make the link between the drugs and the psychosis for a while, and abused drugs for years.

Became obsessed with divine geometry during those, felt that the patterns that they found in numbers were messages from a higher being.

Swore off drugs after an extremely bad paranoia bender. It made them realize how much they really, really didn't want to die.

Dropped the God stuff by that point. Wanting to survive was enough for them.

Mostly abused drugs with huge crashes.

Because they're a total emotional masochist

The type of person to Relish in an unrequited crush, as it confirms their bias that they're unworthy of love.

Torture themselves by keeping track of where they could be in life if they had actually gone to college

They feel like they're hardening themselves when they do it. That they're turning themselves more and more into a cold, indestructible weapon.

Cope by completely emptying themselves. And they feel safe when they're empty. Emotions equal danger

Because if they care about something, it will be taken from them, and absolutely destroy them

While working for the agency, they have plenty of excuses to be bad at relationships. Plus, they're scared you'll be terrified when you realize what a monster they've been their whole life, and they're terrified they'll lose control and do something horrible. But leaving the agency adds a whole new layer of "What if I let myself hope for a normal life and all of my hopes get crushed"

So yeah trying to get close to them will involve a lot of them avoiding you to keep themselves and you safe. Expect many unanswered texts and "Oh yeah I'm actually on the other side of the continent right now sorry I didn't tell you anything beforehand"

When a person with an avoidant attachment style is in love or in a relationship, it starts building up pressure. It builds up stress - a primal urge to run for your life. There are outbursts, fights.

They're usually capable of apologizing if they're unreasonable, though, after they cool down. They really don't want to lose you.

The urge to run is there in other places, too. They usually leave the room immediately after waking up from a PTSD nightmare.

By default, they're allergic to expressing positive emotions

But damn. When they start warming up to you and taking breaks from fighting the positive feelings more and more frequently. They care about you so much

You just have to know/learn how to read the signs

They'll easily get attached to someone who understands them and understands their boundaries and not to cross them. They're working so hard on being better about emotions!! Give them time. Don't make them too uncomfortable, or they'll shut down and pull away.

They value nonverbal communication because of how hard it is for them to be honest and upfront about things that matter to them. Sometimes a conversation will approach one of their boundaries and you two will look at each other and just know. Without having to say anything. You know the things they can't say yet are already there.

This wreck of a human being wants to be understood so bad. They CRAVE the mortifying ordeal of being known. Demonstrate insight into their personality and you'll live in their head rent free forever and ever. Same for remembering like, their favorite ice cream flavor or some offhand comment they made. They don't expect you to be interested enough to do these things.

He has so many scars. Try to avoid touching the one on his back from when a bullet punctured his lung. On a bad day, it'll knock him out of breath all over again.

Emotions are intimate and therefore dangerous and scary. Sex is easy though. They're bad at emotions and good at sex.

I imagine that in the beginning of a relationship they'd use sex as a love language a lot, cuz physical intimacy is the only type of intimacy they have any experience in.

Also. Acts of service. They will NOT let you drive. They will NOT let you cook. How else will you know they love you. They need this. Put the car keys down slowly and nobody gets hurt

Will also show they care by giving any hobby you have a serious try.

Stark comes from Game of Thrones, not Iron Man. They watched the first season when it came out and never recovered. Read all the books. They're a total geek about it.

jaehee asked you to put on some music while the two of you cleaned up the cafe, you were a bit hesitant since your music taste was a bit... different, she had heard songs you specifically put on, having your music on shuffle and not being able to curate it made you a tad bit nervous, nonetheless you played your playlist, a handful of kpop and easy going songs played putting you in a false set of comfort, until all of the sudden an heavier song played right after, your face turned bright red and you turned to see jaehee's reaction, she placed a finger on her chin while giving you a look up and down, she flashed a soft smile as she continued to clean, while locking up you asked her about it, "I was surprised, at first. But it ended up being good music to finish up to. So, thank you."

you decided to play some music while making yourself a snack, you were in your own little world as your playlist echoed through the house, jumin was out seeing business at c&r leaving you to have the house alone, you loved jumin but you did appreciate the time to yourself as well, as you continued making your snack you were surprised to see jumin come home so early, his arms wrapped around you as he pulled you into an embrace, you leaned into his lost in bliss until the brashness of the guitar in the next song broke you out of it, you tried to wiggle out of his grasp clearly embarrassed from the song playing, he tilts his head as you tried to squirm out of his grasp so you could turn off the song, he was clearly surprised from the shift but leans into you, he says he'd never expected this from you but was intrigued. "Seems like you still have sides of you that I haven't seen before. Please, show me all of them."

while lounging around with jihyun you decided to put on one your playlists, you didn't realize it was one that you didn't organize until it was too late, an heavier song made its way on the queue list, startling the both of you, jihyun jumped slightly in his seat breaking him from his daze, you apologized and quickly went to switch it, but he stopped you, holding onto your hand as he took in the song longer, he pulled you into him, his chin rested into the crook of your neck as he continued to listen, the more he listened the more the lyrics drew him in, helping him heal parts of him that he didn't know needed healing, you spent the rest of the day showing him your favorites, "There's something about these lyrics... Would you mind showing me more songs from this band?"

saeran was used to hearing you listen to your favorite kpop artists on repeat, and even went with you occasionally to pick up the newest albums and such, what he didn't expect was for you to be also in metal, when you played your music while in the shower, he could help but pause in front of the door listening in to the song playing, he asked you about it when you were finished, you were a bit embarrassed but he quickly followed it up with he actually liked it, even though he was shocked, he was also pleasantly surprised, especially since he wasn't a stranger to this type of music, he used to listen to it often, "I didn't know you also liked this type of music. You should have told me... I would have showed you some of my favorites."

while accompanying him on a drive, saeyoung suggested that you be the one to play your playlist this time, going as far as not starting the car until you played something, knowing his determination you ultimately gave in, as the first handful of songs played your guard got brought down, joking with him between songs and red lights, until after a cutesy song ended a heavy song played immediately after, you glanced at saeyoung nervously, you tried to read his face but failed, he quickly glanced at you squinting his eyes before returning his gaze to the road, he then dramatically asks why didn't you tell him sooner that you liked this type of music before rambling about this band in particular, "How could you keep this a secret from me! I have to show you their first album, but it's not available on any streaming devices.. I promise I got it morally!!"

you had spent the better half of the night gaming with yoosung, a daily tradition you guys shared most nights, as you went to grab a quick drink between games, he decided to surprise you when you came back, he cutely posed with your cat headphones as he waited for you to return, however you forgot to pause your music as you left, you were a bit surprised as you came back to see him be so cute but he got a surprise himself as the cute song transitioned into a much dramatic and heavier song, his expression was a dead giveaway, he slipped off the headphones and handed them to you, asking if you actually listened to that, he didn't mean any harm, he was just very surprised by your duality, "Sorry, ah! I didn't mean for it to come off that way... I was just surprised. What are your favorite songs from them? Maybe, I'll like some too!"

while waiting for zen to be done with promotional stuff for his newest role, you decided to pass the time by listening to music, you were lost in your own world, admittedly you were half asleep, zen eventually joined you on the sofa in the lounge room, he gently pulled your earphone out, listening in to your music, you turned to look at him surprised, even more so when the next song to play was an heavier one, he quickly shifted beside you, zen's eyes widened as he smiled at you, he was thrown off guard but in a particular way, he teased you playfully calling you his 'sweet metal babe', though he was caught off guard only knowing your love for kpop songs, he loved seeing your duality, "This is why we're perfect for each other, my love. People have this idea of us in their mind but we're completely different in reality."

vanderwood entered your shared apartment as an heavier song played out from your phone, his eyes slightly furrowed looking at you, not in anger but as if he was studying you, you froze in place taken aback by his surprised arrival and being in a vulnerable state, you continued your stare off before he sighed and walked over to you, he pulled you in his arms, he muttered that he didn't really expect you to be listening to music like that, especially with the appearance you kept up, he joked that maybe you should of been a secret agent, "You really don't have to be embarrassed or ashamed. It's just music, nothing too serious. I do adore that look on your face, however."

*ahem* lol okay. So, Dawn is part of the agency, and has been there for a little longer than Vanderwood. While she does hacking stuff as well, is mostly sent to work in field. He can kick ass VERY WELL, but only when needed - he doesn't lose his temper easily.

Despite the lack of romantic attraction, Dawn wouldn't mind being in a relationship - if it wasn't a risk due to his job, that is. She IS capable of love after all, just not in a "standard" way.

But honestly, Vandy doesn't strike to me as a guy who is into the traditional, lovey dovey romance either. So they both just vibe.

Their relationship actually started as a sexual one, as a way to reduce stress from a - quite literally - deadly job. Only after a while they both fell for each other in a much deeper way, but, for safety reasons, never made it official.

Saeran is probably the only one who can make Saeyoung clean up his own room and the house 🤣. Vanderwood had been nagging him since forever about it as well, but Saeyoung never listened lol. I like to imagine after Saeran being rescued and living with Saeyoung, he'd be furious if Saeyoung didn't even bother to clean his own mess. Their entire house had been a catastrophic, and Saeran couldn't take it any longer for his shit and went chastising him for being so negligent.

Vanderwood - Kisses between saying “I love you”

There’s something strange that happens to Vanderwood when they step over the threshold into your home. It’s as if their their agent identity (and with it their crimes) disappears at the door and they become a different person completely.

Seven would call it magic, which Vanderwood would usually brush off with a scoff. But you’re the reason that they feel this way, and you’re might as well be magic to them, so maybe he’s not that far off.

You beam at them like they’re your favourite person in the world, like they don’t have blood under their nails and they aren’t all bruised up. You treat them like they’re whole.

They don’t understand it, not really. Usually, they’re tired enough, relieved enough to see you again that they sweep their concerns away just to enjoy their time with you. To enjoy the selfish pleasure of adoring and being adored.

It’s not like they haven’t tried to warn you about who you’re falling for. In whatever words they could muster, they tried explaining the nature of their work. A sanitized version of their reality. You listened intently, all the while fiddling with them, tracing the shadows across the back of their hand, trailing your fingers up their arm, showing no signs of the disgust or horror they were expecting.

No, you stubbornly continued to care for them all the same. You treated them with the same level of affection, pressing searing kisses to their cheeks and smiling at them warmly.

How could they not embrace the softness you bring out in them? You make it so easy.

In the quiet moments like tonight though, with the room barely lit by the dawn light, it’s easy to remember what’s at stake. The real danger they bring home to you whenever they return. They watch your sleeping form and remember that in just a few days they’ll slip away again.

You deserve better than this.

Deep down, they know you deserve someone better. Someone who isn’t covered in scrapes and scars, who doesn’t spent half their life living a lie. You deserve someone who’s going to stay.

They’re just too cowardly, too selfish to leave. Every time you pull them closer to kiss them or snuggle into their side when you’re sleepy, you chip a bit of their resolve away.

They sneak out of bed to drink some water, to clear their head. Something about this time of day makes it easy for them to get swept away in their fears. With you still asleep, there’s nobody to bring them back down, so water will have to do.

When they return to bed, your hand immediately snakes out from the sheets to feel for them. They let out a low laugh, reaching out to reassure you. Not yet, doll. I’m still here. They wonder if you do this when they’re away too, reach across a cold bed for a person long gone.

You make a contented sound, half-muffled by the pillow. Your eyes are opening ever so slightly to look at them.

“Why’re you awake? Something bothering you?” You ask, your voice still thick with sleep.

They know that you can see the things lurking on their mind.

“Don’t worry about it, doll. It’s still early, you can sleep some more.”

You pull yourself up so that you’re sitting, stubborn as always. There’s a small crease between your eyebrows that always appears when you’re trying to make a point that they think is adorable. They reach out a gentle hand to smooth it out, rough fingers against smooth skin.

“You’re not going to distract me like that. I’m awake now, so you might as well tell me.”

That makes them chuckle. Once you’ve got your mind set on something, there’s no derailing you. “Really, it’s nothing serious, m’just being sentimental.”

You reach out to cup their cheek in your hand and they wince. Your eyes widen. “It’s more than just sentimentality, isn’t it?”

They can’t bear to keep up the eye contact and their gaze shifts to their lap. “Just thinking about how it must be a lot... being involved with someone like me. You deserve-”

You cut him off with a huff and shuffle closer to them still. You swing one leg over their lap so you’re straddling them and they can’t help but look at you. 

You lean in closer so you’re speaking directly into their ear. “Why don’t you let me worry about what I deserve? I love you and I haven’t regretted my decision to be with you once.”

Involuntarily, their hold on you tightens and they inhale sharply.

“Say that again,” they whisper. If it were any other place, anyone else, they’d be embarrassed of how needy they sound.

You laugh softly. “Which part?”

“You know which part.” Their voice is gruff now, impatient.

You smile and wind your fingers into their hair. “I love you.” You punctuate it with a kiss to the corner of their mouth.

“Again.”

“I love you.” This time, your kiss meets their lips. “I love you. I love you.” Each declaration punctuated with a kiss. 

Neither of you say it often. You both know the power words hold, the danger they can pose.

Just this once, though, they choose to indulge.

“I love you too.”

so I played through saeran’s route and actually really enjoyed it. It was so chaotic lol. although, after getting so invested in saeyoungs route I can’t really think of him as anything but a little brother. got any hc’s for Saeyoung’s MC bonding with SE! Saeran?

SE Saeran is wary of his brother's partner for a while. It isn't because he wants nothing to do with you, it's more so that he thinks you don't want anything to do with him. Why in the world would you want to be around somebody like him? Do you understand the depth of what he did? Do you understand what it feels like to be around someone that he manipulated all the time?

He thinks you are properly terrified of him after you saw the worst possible side of him. Frankly, why wouldn't you be? You were the one who was awake when the accident happened. You saw everything he did. You don't have the benefit of the doubt, either. You don't have the benefit of what his brother had! Saeyoung was unconscious when the incident happened, but you? You were awake.

Add that to the list of things that he has in his head on reasons why you should not only never trust him, but be terrified of him. He took the time to manipulate you into going to that apartment, he broke into that apartment and left you feeling unsafe with a BOMB of all things even if he didn't know about the bomb in that route, and that doesn't even begin to count the things that happened after you and Saeyoung saved him from Vanderwood.

Should you really trust somebody like him?

I am already of the opinion that he wants nothing to do with the RFA. It's not that they did anything, it's more so that he did everything, and being around them only reminds him of every horrible thing he did. He doesn't want to be reminded of those things. He also has a hard time being around Jumin and Yoosung. They remind him of the two people he doesn't wanna think about ever again. It's not their fault. He just can't be around them.

So, for the most part, the only people he is around everyday are you and his brother. It's not like he can leave the house. Their father is still an issue so they have to be extra cautious. By the time you start living in the bunker with them, he has mellowed out a little bit, if you wanna call it that. He doesn't have the energy to make trouble anymore, but he doesn't exactly wanna be around anybody.

So, making a friendship with him in the first place is something that's gonna take a lot of time and trust.

If you want a good example of the best way to become his friend, you need to put yourself in a situation where he has control because he is a person who has been robbed of his ability to do what he wants. He has spent his entire life without autonomy. Allow him to decide when he is comfortable and how he wants to communicate. You can't pressure him into being ready when he's not ready.

The best way to hang out with him is to engage in parallel play. He will be doing something on one side of the room and you will be doing something on the other.

He doesn't want to feel the need to talk to fill in the silence. So, putting music or a television show in the background would probably be a great idea. He is still learning how to exist around other people, so giving him the opportunity to do so in a place where he gets to decide when he's had enough is a great way to be his friend.

If you really want to win him over, the best thing you could do is be considerate to his needs. Make sure you ask him if he's OK with something. If you're going to play a game, ask him if he wants to, and it's as simple as that. He isn't the kind of person who has been asked if he wants to do anything. So, you going out of your way to see what he wants to do or what he's OK with first means a lot more than you will ever know.

An even better way to win him over is to ask him if he wants to hang out outside for a little bit.

That's one of the few times he won't complain if you drag his brother along.

He likes to cloud gaze and that's something he doesn't mind sharing with his brother since they used to do it when they were kids. Sure, they aren't the same people they used to be but this is one thing they still have that they've always had.

Learning how to be his friend means learning to find enjoyment in the little things. You have to remember that he hasn't had the opportunity to experience the world like everybody else. So, if he wants to do something that may seem a little silly out of the blue, humor it.

He deserves the opportunity to learn how to be a person and having somebody there with him makes it feel a little less embarrassing or mortifying to be seen doing something for the first time that everyone else might have done when they were much younger.

Yes, that includes pushing his swing for him.

Just don't tell Saeyoung you did that.

You may just be the first genuine friend he ever makes that's doing it because you want to do it and not because you feel a sense of pity. Get to know him and what he likes, and it'll be easier for him to open up and do time. He'll learn how to trust you once he's ready. As long as you leave the door open for him, he'll learn how to walk through it. Make sure you take him for some ice cream, too.

fair! i totally understand what you mean. i have moments like that too, especially when im frustrated with something. like physical touch will just set me off more. i definitely agree that vandy is probably one of the best ones for something like that! ofc i can still see the others being like "okay i understand" and while saeran, after some time, will probably be able to read your body language so you dont even have to say anything (and certainly has his own moments like that), Vanderwood would have that immediate mutual understanding every time

Hey there! Would it be possible to request some headcanons for RFA + minor trio with an MC who is obsessed with mugs? They literally cannot leave the house without buying a cute and cosy mug to snuggle up with a cup of tea. But their collection is just getting out of hand and they have to literally steer MC away from the mug aisle in shops. Mugs are taking over the kitchen. Every. Single. Mug. Is used. JAEHEE KANG: was your voice of reason, as much as she loved seeing you happy over a silly mug she knew when enough was clearly enough, after your cabinets were 60% of just mugs she intervened, she bargained with you to only get a mug when it was a special occasion, though sometimes she'd spoil you with a surprise mug, those were always handmade and very cute, she'd make one for herself too so you'd match while having your morning coffee together

JUMIN HAN: he was the worst person to be by your side when having an collecting addiction like this, he was your number one enabler, you want that mug? not an issue, that rare mug is 10k? ordering it right now, he'd also get invested in all the cat ones and would show you them, having no space wasn't an issue, being the executive director at a prestigious company gave an upper advantage, would buy you another cabinet if you needed it

SAERAN CHOI: doesn't really get it but supports you!!, he wouldn't say anything at first or think anything of it, it wasn't until he opened your cabinet and one fell (he apologized so many times), you knew your collection was quite much but you really didn't want to just stop, saeran came up with the smart idea of turning your old mugs into succulent planters, if you'd buy a mug you'd have to turn one into a planter, it was a win for both of you and allowed you to share a hobby with saeran, in his own saeran way

SAEYOUNG CHOI: would lovingly make fun of you for it, and when your cabinets started getting cluttered, he'd hold a little intervention for you, you tried to convince him that you did need all of these mugs, he wasn't buying it, in an attempt you'd challenge him that you wouldn't buy any mugs if he wouldn't buy any more cars, the thing about saeyoung is that he lives for challenges like these, you two had a bet on who would break first, you both tried to tempt each other by showing off rare cars/mugs to the other, the bet went on for a good while, none of you wanted to lose, saeyoung was eliminated but not in the way that you expected, instead of buying a car... he bought you a mug, he bought you a silly long cat mug after having a series of rough days to cheer you up

V / KIM JIHYUN: he'd have a hard time saying no to you buying a mug, seeing you so happy and bright just because of a silly mug was so warming to him, he just loved seeing you happy because it made him happy, however your mug collection was growing out of control, while cooking one night with him you asked him to hand you a measuring cup, he opened multiple cabinets to just mugs, he'd eventually found it but asked you if you'd consider donating your old ones, you were hesitant, you loved your big collection but it was getting out of hand, you ended up agreeing and went the next day to multiple thrift stores and charities to donate, you did ended up taking just a few home that were there, but doing something nice for the community with v was a big highlight

VANDERWOOD: didn't understand why you needed a mug with a silly image inked onto it, he couldn't wrap his head over why you can't just use a plain mug, you tired to explain that it enhances the overall experience of having a warm drink, wasn't convinced, tried to convince you to cutdown but you just kept saying you didn't have an absurd amount (you did), he'd eventually give in and ignore it, but seeing you so happy over something so insignificant made him happy, not that he'd mention or say so (tsundere moment cough), later on you'd begin to find random mugs in your cabinet, you were certain you'd never bought them though they were very cute, you'd ask vanderwood the next time he was around about them, he'd deny ever bring them there and just say you must of forgot buying them, you knew that wasn't the case, the only possibility was he would sneak them in, and that he would, he'd take note of you top favorites and bring you one similar

YOOSUNG KIM: yet another enabler, like everyone else he loved seeing you happy, it didn't help that his main love language was gift giving, on top of all the mugs you'd buy yourself, he'd get you four more, he'd also be a big fan of cute matching mugs, after telling him that your cabinets started becoming full of just mugs, he offered to keep some at his place for when you come visit, but soon his cabinets begin to be mostly just mugs, you had to come to your senses or else the both of you would be buried in so many mugs, you combed through your collection together, getting rid of ones you were okay to part with, yoosung was a little sad to part ways with your mugs, even if you kept all the ones he gifted, he was so used to gifting you mugs it was almost an routine, he had to find the next little thing he'd gift you

ZEN / HYUN RYU: he thought your obsession with mugs was very cute, he'd even gift you a couple when he could, if he was working he'd ask production if they had any mugs with the logo of the project he was working on, even if you were cute about it he knew he had to tell you to hold off just a little bit, your collection was starting to eat the kitchen cabinets, you had him help you talk yourself out of buying mugs whenever you two went out, that was easier said than done, he'd see your eyes light up with pure happiness and bliss whenever you saw a mug you liked, he'd try to remind you that you were holding off but whenever you looked at him it broke him, he'd see your loving puppy dog eyes (even if they weren't intentional) and debate on just this one, that mostly turned into one mug each time you both went out, in zen's books at least it was better than nothing

I’ve tweaked this a little bit so it’s also a returned gift!! I hope you like it!! This is my second Valentine’s day request <3

RFA + Minor Trio Valentine’s Gift Exchange Headcanons

Yoosung Kim Valentine’s Gifts

You didn’t have to think too hard to decide on what to get Yoosung for Valentine’s Day, he had been complaining that he needed a new headset for a few weeks but had already spent his student budget on new limited edition LOLOL skins. The poor boy had already been reduced to instant ramen to afford these luxuries. You didn’t know too much about which sort of headset he’d prefer, so you just got him a decently branded one that had good reviews and hoped it would work.

You also wanted to get him some extra things to go in his giftbag, so you got him a new t-shirt tand some cute strawberry heart shaped Pocky, which you definitely didn’t buy with the pure intention of playing the Pocky Game with him. Of course not.

Yoosung would have put quite a bit of effort into thinking about what to get you for Valentine’s Day, since he didn’t want to screw up and be a bad boyfriend. He even asked Zen for advice, but didn’t think the bold, extravagant declaration of love really suited him.

Yoosung decided to go for the traditional route and gift you a little charm bracelet, a small bouquet of red roses and cook a meal for you. Of course, it was his special omurice, packed with extra love because it was Valentine’s day. He’d picked out the charm bracelet online, it was a little silver one with a sparkly star charm on it.

Zen/Hyun Ryu Valentine’s Gifts 

If Zen knew anything, it was dramatic romance. He’ll pour Valentine’s clichés on you like it’s nobody’s business. Zen buys you a chunky bouquet of red roses, a big box of chocolate (he doesn’t usually eat chocolate because he doesn’t want the sugar to affect his skin, so he makes sure the box is extra big so he can cheekily pick at a few that he likes) and takes you out for an evening meal.

When you get home after the dinner, Zen will pick you up outside the door and carry you bridal style over the threshold, just because he wants you to feel like a princess in his arms.

You can also bet that Zen is going to sing for you for Valentine’s Day. He’d have spent a while picking out the song, and depending on what he thought was best, it would be 1) Your favourite song, 2) A dramatic love ballad from a musical he’d been in, or 3) a joking strip-tease song.

For your gifts, you’d have gotten Zen some new skincare products that he’d been looking at. You knew how much he loved his sheet masks so you’d brought him a fun selection to have a try of. Some of your favourite evenings with Zen were spent doing skincare on one another, so you wanted an excuse to do that more.

For his big gift, you got him a ticket for two to go for an all-exclusive spa day trip. He was flustered that you’d spent so much money on him, but you assured him it was for the both of you to spend time together and to enjoy!

Jaehee Kang Valentine’s Gifts

Valentine’s Day wasn’t a holiday that Jaehee had off from work if it was a weekday, so you were really lucky this year that it had fallen on a Sunday. She’d gotten all of her work done late on the Saturday night in order to have the day free to spend with you.

You got Jaehee a fancy new coffee maker that she had had her eye on for a while, but couldn’t justify to herself since her old one was still in fine, working condition. You’d imported some special coffee beans for her to try too. You also felt like it was important to give Jaehee some flowers too, since you knew sometimes she felt so dull and drab because of how Jumin made her dress for work, she deserved to feel pretty too.

Jaehee got you tickets to a musical show you’d been wanting to see, but had missed the tickets for. She’d seen that a pair of them had gone up for sale second hand and had quickly snatched the sale in order to get them for you. It wasn’t a show that she’d have usually seen, but she’s very excited to get to watch it with you.

Jumin Han Valentine’s Gifts 

To start, you’d have gently implied to Jumin about setting a budget for Valentine’s Day, because God knows he didn’t know the value of money sometimes and you felt bad knowing you couldn’t match whatever he was going to spend. You didn’t want Valentine’s to be about money, but about your feelings for one another.

You told the chef on Saturday night that he wasn’t needed for breakfast since you wanted to make breakfast for Jumin yourself. You made him a spread of sweet pancakes with syrup and fruit and hand dripped his coffee yourself, taking the time to decorate a little foam Elizabeth the 3rd on top of it. You’d also made him lunch to take to work, and put a little note in it saying that you and Elizabeth missed him whilst he was gone. 

Jumin had arranged for the two of you to go to an extremely overpriced restaurant for dinner, which is where you were exchanging gifts. You have Jumin a pair of cufflinks engraved with yours and his initials, which he immediately swapped the ones he was currently wearing for. 

Coincidentally, Jumin also gave you jewellery, it was a beautiful necklace with far too many diamonds in. He clipped it around your neck, agreeing to himself that his selection was correct as it looked beautiful on you. He also added that there was another gift waiting for you at home, since it would have been inappropriate to bring to the restaurant. 

He had gotten you a set of lingerie to wear for the night, obviously. 

Saeyoung Choi Valentine’s Gifts 

Seven was a hit at heart, and a car guy, so the choice was obvious: you were going to get him a giant Hot Wheels tracks with all the extra decorations. You spent far too much money on it, but knowing how happy it would make him made it entirely worth it. 

You thought he was going to cry when he unwrapped it, and he immediately set it up and spent hours making the track and remaking it, adding extra obstacles, making the car go over Saeran’s head, loop, jump through flames- everything. He was so happy with your gift that he almost forgot to give you your own gift. 

Which he then changed into- 

Seven was going to be your maid for the day, outfit and all. He explained his gift by telling you he knew how much effort it must be to look after him, so he was going to look after you for a change, and ‘look good while doing it’. 

He also got you a bunch of imported snacks that you had really been wanting to try, but couldn’t work out the proxy or shipping to be able to do it. You were swimming in snacks, you didn’t know where they were going to go.

V/Jihyun Kim Valentine’s Gifts

Always a romantic at heart, V would have put a lot of effort into your Valentine’s gifts and spent a lot of time considering it, he wouldn’t have wanted it to be a commercial gimmick but an actual symbol of his love for you. You felt the same, of course.

For V, you gifted him a new portable polaroid camera and cartridges. He had so many big expensive cameras, but a little polaroid captures fun moments and prints them instantly. They could capture moments without taking V out of it and distancing himself.

You also gave him a set of imported watercolours from Europe, since the reviews said that they were really good. He’d mentioned wanting to experiment more with watercolours, so this was the perfect time to gift him a set to practice with.

For your gifts, V would have first gifted you a weekend getaway for the two of you, knowing how stressed you had been recently. He wanted to give you a chance to relax and to just spend some time being utterly in love with one another.

Secondly, V gifted you a painting, of your hand touching a rose petal and being illuminated by the sun. He didn’t need to explain it, because he knew the painting reached your heart.

GE Saeran Choi Valentine’s Gifts 

Saeran was always getting you gifts, so he wanted to do something extra special for Valentine’s Day, but remaining in the spirit of the holiday. He was in love with love, and wanted to show it. 

You’d woken up to a room full of flowers, so many flowers. Saeran would have decorated the room silently before you had woken up since he wanted you to wake up to the beautiful sight. He’d tell you the meaning of each flower and how each one represents a different reason as to why he loves you entirely. You’d been awake about thirty seconds, this man is shameless with his affection.

Saeran would make you breakfast in bed and would cook for you for the entire day, making whatever you wanted to eat. He’d already made a bunch of baked goods in preparation whilst you were asleep.

Over dinner, you’d give him his gifts even though you were worried that they weren’t enough in comparison to what he had done. You gave him some seeds, a new pair of gardening gloves since he was continuously hurting his hands on rose thorns, a photo album of the happy memories the two of you had been making with the RFA and a little keychain that had a picture of the two of you in it to go on his housekeys. Needless to say, he cried.

Saeran had also got you another gift, a tiny gold necklace with a little heart in the middle of it. He said he chose it because he wanted you to carry his heart with you everywhere you go.

Vanderwood Valentine’s Gifts

Vanderwood absolutely forgot Valentine’s Day was a thing until the day before, when he wanted in on Seven trying on his maid outfit to make sure it still fit okay and had to immediately explain himself.

He was not someone to celebrate Valentine’s Day, since he didn’t want to get attached to anyone, but you had somehow wormed your way into his life and refused to leave. 

He’d have gotten you a new laptop, since he couldn’t bear to look at that horrific old thing you were using. He set it up with anti-tracking software and made it as safe as possible to people like him didn’t steal your information, he wouldn’t do anything romantic, but he might be a little less mean to you for that day. He wouldn’t even say ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ to you, he’d just hand you the laptop and show you how to use it.

For your gift to Vanderwood, you tried gifting him a vape pen so help him cut down on smoking so much, but he didn’t willingly accept this. He took it, and would maybe use it when he was at home and no one could see him vaping though, since you’re the one who gave it to him. 

Just to add an extra gift in, since you knew the vape pen wouldn’t go down well, you gave him a voucher for a coffee shop and an Elvish dictionary: you had insider information that Seven was about to change the intercom on the door’s language, after all.
