Whiz Kid Billy Batson and Lois Lane + the others

How come I haven't seen anything about Billy Batson interacting with the other journalists and reporters in the DC universe when it's the perfect opportunity to have the truth seekers in one room combining their skills/forces together?? I mean seriously, let the Whiz Kid Billy Batson HC meet with the others during some big journalist/reporter convention being held in Fawcett City, he has his own little radio show, let the boy speak his mind! Billy and Lois would have a blast together solving a cold case, interviewing superheroes together, and investigating the mystery behind who invited all these famous journalists and reporters to Fawcett city.

Make it be like a Knives Out scenario where someone extremely important and big suddenly bites the dust during the convention, and not only are the famous reporters and journalists there meant to solve the case, but they are also the suspects! The superheroes are away and can't help in this event, it's up to the non super powered allies to get to the bottom of this and save themselves!

Billy obviously can't transform into Captain Marvel due to the circumstances, but he's more than ready for a challenge to prove that Billy Batson is just as much a hero as his alter ego is.

Billy Batson, Lois Lane, Iris West, Jimmy Olsen, Viki Vale, Cat Grant (I'm going off the DC wiki for journalists and reporters). Put all these people in a room and all of your secrets will be in extreme danger.

Bonus points if Benoit Blanc is canon to the DC universe and was invited as a plus one to a guest of honor/VIP at the convention. I like this fruity southern detective man a lot. Him existing in the DC universe would just be hilarious and actually fit. Man solved a lot of famous cases, who's to say he's never solved a supervillain crime case or answered a few Riddles by the Riddle before (even though he thinks they're stupid). Let this man meet batman for crying out loud! (And let him play Among us with the other journalists/reporters-)

I got the idea based on the snippets of the fic being made by @wolfsbanesparks that involves Billy going through a mentorship program under Lois Lane.

Viki: Hello loyal listeners! I’m Viki Vale here with Gothams too news! If you remember last time, I went all out about how the RPG game ‘New hero’s of tomorrow’ is sweeping over Gotham and becoming a huge success. Well, today I’m here with the games sole creator, Carol Grelitia! How are you today Carol?

Carol: Well, I’m honored to be here Viki. I honestly never thought a game I created just as a fun hobby would gain so much traction.

Viki: Well, it has and you’re here right now. So tell us Carol, what inspired you to make this game?

Carol: It’s not really a big or complicated story. We have a lot of vigilantes all across the globes, especially here in the US, and they inspire a lot of people. I know many people want to be like them, but don’t have the ability to be. I’m not talking about powers either, I mean our very own Batman ain’t got no powers. I’m taking about the training it requires to be a hero.

Viki: So, you made this game so people could experience what it’s like to be a hero without the risk?

Carol: Practically.

Viki: Now, do you kind if we get into some more personal questions submitted by the fans?

Carol: Oh, of course not Viki.

Viki: Alright! First question, submitted by user ‘Nightwings thighs’- am I reading this right? … Anyways, Mr. Nightwings thighs asks ‘What is your nationality?’ And gives the follow up question of ‘What languages can you speak?’

Carol: Well, it’s a simple. I’m Swedish/French on my pops side and Russian/Australian in my mums. As for what languages I can speak, I can speak fluent Russian, French, Swedish, and Spanish, and am currently attempting to learn Gaelic.

Viki: Ladies and gentlemen we seem to have a quad-lingual with us today! Moving on, the next question comes from user ‘The_Mitochondria_Is_Ur_Mom’- *Viki does a double take*… Ehm, Ms. Mitochondria asked ‘What’s your sexuality and are you in a relationship?’

Carol: Well, I haven’t really used labels before, but I would call myself pansexual as I really don’t care what gender my lover is. I also identify as Demi-romantic. I need to know someone well before i develop feelings for them. I am also polyamorous and- *blushes*- Currently taken by my two loving partners, who I won’t name for the sake of their privacy.

Viki: Well, it sure seems like you are very lucky. Carols lovers, if you’re listening, feel free to leave a question reveling yourself, if you want to that is, for our next interview!

Carol: N-next interview?

Viki: Of course, there still so many questions, but sadly we only have enough time for one more question.

Carol: Alright. Im ok with that.

Carol: Oh, I think their just swell. I’m actually on a quest to collect all of them. So far I’ve gotten two Red Robin’s, six Batman’s, four Signals, and 2 Azerals.

we know tim faked a leg break and the physical therapy thereafter for over a year to throw viki vale off the scent of his secret identity. is that. something he just does? but maybe in smaller scale so his insane brain thinks this is a reasonable escalation. “oh im sorry darla but yeah i cant go to the school trip with you. why? dont laugh but a bookcase fell on top of me yeah that ancient one and ive bruised my side. yeah i gotta take it easy the next couple of days” and he has the bruises (waterproof 24/7 make-up) to prove it, along with a gauze thats totally unnecessary that he diligently changes for almost a week straight. “oh? my fingers? yeah i smashed them awful with a gargoyle last night. there's big ones in drake manor and i knocked one over myself. alfred stayed the whole night with me to take th worst of the swelling down but they should be back to normal tomorrow" and he smashes his hand with the car door to fake a little swelling that he later in patrol will just have to muscle through

A WIP that i will probably not work on

All of a sudden the door to Steph’s room swung open, and an out of breath Tim Drake appeared.

“Hi? You good?”

After looking at her as though he could hear her, but was unable to process what had been asked, he proceeded to flop face first onto the bed and let out a scream that was only slightly muffled by the blanket.

“Okay- Um- Do you wanna talk about it?”

He lifted his head slightly, only his forehead and eyes showing, and mumbled something indistinguible.

“What?”

Pushing up to a sitting position, he repeated himself. “Tim Drake is dating Red Robin who may be cheating on him with Alvin Draper.”

“I hate to break it to you, but you are all those people.”

“Trust me, I’m aware.”

“The Waynes get in a scandal almost everyday. You really think people are going to sit on this one for longer than a day?”

“It’s been 2 hours since Viki’s article was published and there are now 13 additional fics to the Red Robin/Tim Drake Ao3 page with the tags “Cheating” and “Alvin Draper”.” 

“Nevermind then. What are you gonna do about it?”

“Currently I only have 3 options. The first is to make a statement that denies the relationship between my civilian and vigilante persona, except that would probably make people think that the cheating was definitely happening and that is the reason said personas are not dating, which may lead to a hatred of Red Robin, and the public woobifying me even more. The alternative to that is by releasing a statement that says I am  in a relationship with Red Robin, but once again the rumors about Alvin will still be there and end in the same result as the first.”

“And the third?”

He lifted a hand to rub at his temples as he sighed. “I released a statement that says I am in a poly relationship with both Red Robin and Alvin Draper.”

“I beg you to do that, I can already see the tropes forming; The enemies, Alvin “The Bad-Boy-Art-Thief” Draper and Red “Gotham's-Mysterious-Vigilante” Robin, brought together for a competition of who gets to win Timothy “Handsome-Teenage-CEO” Drake’s heart, But there’s a twist! During this race to love, they end up falling for each other as well.”

“I hate the fact that you were able to think of that so quickly. Hold up- Do you write fanfiction about us?”

“Nah, but Bernard does, and I’m his beta reader. Oh yeah, how are you gonna factor in your huge crush on him with this polycule situation?”

As Steph had intended, Tim’s cheeks began to flame red. “I DO NOT HAVE A CRUS- Did you say he writes fanfiction about us?”

“Yep. It’s mostly Red Robin x Reader, but there are a few SuperBird and Tim Drake x Reader mixed in.”

I don't love the MAWS Livewire because, basically, she's not 'saying' anything about society.

I really liked how they reinvented Parasite (though I would've preferred if he was still called Rudy Jones than Prof. Ivo) because his character says rather succinctly–billionaires are parasites. Boom. Perfect. No notes. Great social commentary.

Livewire's old job was supposed to be a criticism on right-wing sensationalist news pundits (which would've be extremely relevant right now) and how they're all just narcissistic attention whores who don't care how what they do/say hurt people (they did do something like that with Vicki Vale, which is admittedly nice).

MAWS's Livewire says. . . nothing. She's just a generic mercenary/thief with superpowers. They could've made her Atomic Skull, Volcana, Anomaly, or even a genderbent Coldcast, and nothing would be different.

Yes, Livewire has been changed before in shows like Young Justice and Supergirl, but that shouldn't excuse MAWS from missing an opportunity to say something meaningful.

Just say you hate the fact that this incarnation is a person of color and save us all the trouble.

This show gave its unique take on all the villains, yet you don't see anybody getting worked up over the fact that Silver Banshee doesn't speak with an Irish accent now do you?

The MAWS incarnation of Intergang are a group of petty crooks with no connections to Darkseid, yet nobody is making a huge fuss about that.

Not every villain has to be some thinly veiled metaphor for a real world issue. Some villains are just evil for the sake of being evil.

And don't sit there and act like this show was scared of tackling real world issues, the writers had Lex Luthor spout out a bunch of right wing xenophobic talking points when Viki Vale interviewed him.

Livewire doesn't need to be an Alex Jones expy to be compelling.

Don't like this version of the character? Cool, go watch the 90's animated series or Supergirl.

The Batman Movie teir list

*to preface these are the movies I've seen which is most of the live action ones and a couple of the animated ones. This list will be in chronological order to the best of my abilities please don't blow a gasket if I fuck something up I'm doing this for shits and giggles*

Alright here we go

1943- Batman: Started it but never got to finish it so need to do that. From what I can remember I liked it, the summary honestly sounds like a blast I'm going to give it B tier for now since I barely remember the little bit of it I have seen.

1966- Batman The Movie: I'm just going to flat out say it, I'm a sucker for the 60s batman and little me had a huge crush on Robin in the series. The movie is ridiculous at times but thats what great about it. Honestly nothing negative to say about the movie it's self. In my humble opinion catwoman in this movie feels like Zoë Kravitz's girl boss catwoman just placed in the 60s and I will stand by this, overall the plot of The Joker, The Riddler, The Penguin, and Catwoman all teaming up was carried out very well and I loved it. It worked in such a stupid way. I'm giving this movie A tier for the bat shark repellent, my old crush on Robin, and the ridiculous dialog.

1989- Batman: OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY I FUCKING LOVE THIS MOVIE TO THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. This was the first Batman Movie I was ever exposed to at the very mature age of 4. This movie gave me my love of Prince, Michael Keton, Jack Nicholson, and the joker. It was like a gateway drug that got me into the rest of Batman, comics and everything. I owe most of my personality to this movie and Batman Forever if I'm being honest. And if I'm going to get real with yall, Jack Nicholson's joker is to date the best live action joker, no diss to Heath Ledger's because by God do I fucking love his joker but Jack's is just better. Viki Vale is honestly the only female love interest I've been able to stand besides Zoe Kravitz's catwomen (but she's catwoman so it's different). Maybe it's cause she doesn't play the damsel in distrest way up the way Dr. Meridian does idk but Viki Vale is cool. Plot is great little me loved watching Jack Napier fall into the vat of acid after getting shot in the face. Love the museum scene literally the best scene in the movie, parade scene and dancing on the church rooftop are for sure head to head for second place. So many iconic lines like "You wanna get nuts?! COME ON LETS GET NUTS!!"(later referenced to in the Lego Batman Movie) "We're like beauty and the beast, of course if anyone else calls you beast... I'll rip thier lungs out" and, "And where is.. the batman?? Huh? HES AT HOME!! WASHING HIS TIGHTS!!" this movie is S tier.

1991- Batman Returns: AND SO DOES MICHAEL KETON! Secon Batman Movie ever exposed to so this one holds a special place in my heart as well. Batman and Batman returns were like the only two Batman movies I watched from ages 4-6. Love Danny Devto as the Penguin, LOVE LOVE LOVE Michelle Pfeiffer as catwoman but I heard somewhere they had to like shrink wrap her into the costume which sounds like absolutely horrible. I call this movie a Christmas movie around my family as an excuse to not watch Elf for the 500th time around the holidays so that's a plus. Nothing much else to say, A tier.

1995- Batman Forever: OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY I FUCKING LOVE THIS MOVIE TO THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART Pt2. Love Jim Carrey's riddler idfc what you guys say he is a gay icon who also has many iconic lines like "Joygasam!!" "Ya like the new sweater?? It keeps me safe.. when im... JOGGING at night." And "You were supposed to understand🥺.... I'll make you understand😡". But I HAted Val Kilmer as batman, he gives me the ick, never heard of him out side of this movie and he seems like a decent actor but he just couldn't do this. I will agree with yall on the fact that the writing is absolutely horrid but like with 66 batman is works sometimes but Val just doesn't make it work. Coming back to Chase Meridian, do not like her character, pointless besides love interest, points out the very obvious about two face and his coin. Not cool. For more info on two face in Batman Forever and a little glimpse at my feeling for Harvy Two-face in the dark night reffer to this meme.

He is an alpha male bicon that's all, overall, A tier movie.

1997- Batman and Robin: 😐 D tier. Make it less sexual, idc if poison ivy's thing is manipulating people with love/plants other adaptations can do it I'm begging for it to be the norm. Batnips aren't cool, robin ain't it in this movie or batman forever. I also forget that bane is in this movie cause he ain't it either

New video game gaining popularity across Gotham?

I’m Viki Vale, reporting to you about the newest video game sensation that’s taking over Gotham.

Every Batman Ship Reviewed

Julie Madison: Nobody gives a shit about Julie Madison. Don't pretend you do.

Viki Vale: 5/10. She was done well in the Tim Burton Batman movie, not really anything else. They're alright together but its too vanilla for my tastes.

Selina Kyle: 3/10. Not actively harmful but Jesus does DC over-idolize this ship. They don't go together, that's the point. You only need to watch the first BTAS episode to understand every BatCat story ever. Bruce and Selina meet, they flirt a bit without really diving into the emotional aspect of their characters and how they help each other grow. Bruce and Selina are pitted against each other in some way, usually related to an environmental issue, although Batman writers seem to forget that was the entire reason she was a thief originally. Bruce discovers her identity and he either unhappily sends her to jail or, more likely with later stories, she outsmarts him and manages to actually steal the thing he was trying to stop her from stealing making him look unprofessional and stupid. I actually hate this trope so much that I wrote an entire fic about how when Azrael meets her, he just fucking breaks her wrist, cuffs her, and the story is over because Azrael is actually competent. The best thing to come from this pairing is Helena Wayne. I may be slightly salty because this pairing gets all the limelight and you never see any other relationships besides BruTalia or, if Bruce Timm broke into the writer's room again, BruBabs.

Speaking of which, Talia: 1/10. Jesus Christ, what a nightmare. Just look up any modern storyline involving her and you'll understand why I say that.

Black Canary: 1/10. Step away from Ollie's girlfriend Bruce.

Kathy Kane: Wait what? I thought they were cousins. I mean I'm no stranger to shipping cousins but I kinda figured we avoided that in canon works. (also the fandom page for Batwoman has a bad habit of just labelling every female individual who claims to be "Batwoman" at some point as Batwoman. That seems counterintuitive but that means that if a character makes a joke about not being Batgirl but instead being Batwoman, she gets a place on the page.)

Lois Lane: 9/10. Just cause I hate the flying boy scout.

Shondra Kinsolving: 1/10. I'm skipping a lot of the most minor relationships because nobody has heard of or cares about the characters but since I'm collecting the Knightfall comic series collections, I actually own the comic she's featured in. Basically the story is fine, if a little sparse on the actual details of their attraction, but what kills it is that, instead of having them break up for any reasons like, oh IDK, being kidnapped by your brother to kill people with psychic powers, the story just gives her brain damage to remove the possibility of a relationship. That's cheap writing and I don't support it.

Wonder Woman: 8/10. I like the idea. This one had some pretty good subtext in Justice League (animated show, 2nd animated show, or movie, take your pick). They'd work well together.

Zatanna Zatara: 8/10. I like them together aesthetically but nobody's ever actually tried to make a story based around these two paired up.
