Ink wally is HUGE!! maybe even as tall as Ink Norman/the protectionist.

In my AU, ink wally loses his body later (AGAIN) but it's fine, he's still. Somehow.. "Alive". There's a heart attached to the back of the recorder. So aslong as that stays undamaged, he should be safe. After Sammy finds him again he just decides to carry him around like some bag pack 😭😭

Ink wally communicates by cutting recordings together. I actually made a little test video about that here! :D (Wally probably likes annoying Sammy with his own tapes by just replaying them all the time HAHA)

okay wait laughingstock concept Incoming: so im imagining some of the neighbors (maybe Julie & Frank) noticing that Barnaby & Howdy are a lil fruity, yk yk. and Julie's like damn, i guess we have to play matchmaker here.

so naturally they wind up getting the whole neighborhood involved. everybody's a wingman here. Poppy's dropping hints when Howdy drops off groceries, Wally is constantly asking Barnaby to go get him things from the bodega, etc etc. Howdy and Barnaby are facing this sudden change in town-wide behavior with slight concern and bemusement

eventually - lets say Julie, Sally, and Wally - get Barnaby into the bodega and then abruptly leave like "don't have too much fun without us you two *wink wink nudge nudge*". once they're gone (read: very obviously hiding outside & watching through the window) Barnaby & Howdy turn to each other like:

Barnaby: you think we should tell them we're already married?

Howdy: let them have their fun - they'll figure it out eventually

So I was thinking about Next To Normal, I'm Alive in particular, and It hit me like a freight train that the song and concept would fit so well in a little au so I uh

The main idea is that Wally died and by god Barnaby is coping so horrifically badly. I wouldnt want the plot to follow all the same beats as the musical Im not exactly keen on having Barnaby Fly, so to speak. As with how I interpret the musical, it's not entirely clear if Wally exists as a spirit or not. I like leaving that open to interpretation. Its interesting exploring what all unchecked grief can do to a person. This isnt a solid au or anything its more a cocept right now and the designs are far from final, this is my first time drawing any of these characters oops. But my god a chance to mix a favourite musical And Welcome Home isnt one I want to miss lol

I have a new au, or well it's kinda old made it last year but didn't put it on here honestly,,, the audacity I had. It's called Director Cuts. Short story, Wally watched Dick, the final teammate and family he had alive, die in a world and through his emotions hitting him hard he swap places with the actor version of himself with Damian, and the actor version of them are in a restarted world and both are trying to go home, blah blah blah not going into deep detail it's a fic eventually.

Wally: so,,, how are we going to go back home without tripping these people off.

Damian: act of course, West... Then at night I'll sneak out and meet you at this coffee shop and we find materials to restart a portal back home. Hopefully our counter parts ain't dead by the time being.

Wally: this isn't going to look weird me, a grown man meeting up with a child.

Damian: of course, that's why we're meeting on the roof. Can't let mess up this version of me's dad and your version relationship mess up because of this.

Wally: I just think it sweet other version of me and him are always falling in love with each other, it's so cute.
