Started playing more with collage style, taking images from the only magazine I'm still physically receiving (aka an ad lol) and utilizing some pages from a ephemera book that I'd normally be too anxious to use. My theme for this year artistically is "use the damn thing". I'm terrible at hoarding resources that I love but am afraid to use because they're "too nice" or I want to "save" them for something that never ends up materializing. Just use the damn thing!

Washi tape collage◦°˚◦✬

This took me SO LONG and I wasn't even sure if it would come out as I thought but apparently it quite did 🙇🏻‍♀️ I kinda took inspiration from actual photos for the poses.

It's been years since I didn't use washi tape on art, I missed it and since I got lot more lately I wanted to try something new and more graphic. I love collage art with mixed media, and it was fun for me to make half traditional mixed to digital all together 💜 Minimal style was always interesting to me but it's kinda out of my comfort zone actually 🥲

I wanted to test also on Cho and Freya for my friends @/skymaiden_16 and @/x_asako_ because I love them so much and they would have had some lovely different designs 🥺

I would set this in my modern AU, as we have one certain amazing starry stylist girl there 👀

#art #dragon #washi tape #washi tape collage #washi tape art #artists on tumblr #mixed media #each scale is a carefully cut out tree #inspired by those medieval manuscript dragons #the sketch stage was actually really hard - i kept drawing shapes that made way too much anatomical sense LOL #ideally the body would be more compact but i went into this wanting to make a card with a front and back #so i stretched it out over the fold this way - tho this one didn't end up having a fold because i really wanted to do the scales this way #(i can't have pieces of washi tape going over the fold bc they'll start to let go) #i've been really excited to post this one!! i think it's one of the prettiest washi tape things i've made
