#we didn't get to see much of the fire nation at all in korra and i'm sad because i'm so interested in what a post-war fire nation is like.

ATLA isn't that great at showing the reality of war and you are ready for this conversation.
You can call me biased for this post, but whatever. I've been silent for too long.
It's certainly better than a lot of other shows, but fans often overestimate how good it actually is. It's excellent at showing more simple things like people getting hurt and traumatized because of war, but when it gets to more complicated things it's not that good.
In the show we got two people opposing to the fire nation. TWO. (Technically more because Jet wasn't alone, but you get what I'm saying). And they're BOTH antagonists. It's great to show that anger can blind you, but couldn't they make at least one character who wasn't somehow affiliated with Gaang who was against Fire nation and was in positive light? It kinda sucks. Also it doesn't make sense that Hama could actually attack military men and she just didn't. Why? She could attack civilians AND military and it could have been much better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we get an entire arc to show that fire citizens aren't that bad, they're also people and they're also victims, blah, blah, blah... And the idea isn't entirely bad, but it was shown like they're just all innocent and can't affect what's happening in their kingdom? If the show authors wanted to show something positive about Fire citizens wouldn't it be better to show that there are some opposition to Fire Lord or something? But no, we get episodes about how the citizens are prohibited to show their true selfs because they can't breakdance and we get propaganda mentioned a little. Obviously it's a kids show and demanding to show 100% how war works is dumb, obviously the writers have to tone it down a little, but it still kinda sucked. This is actually why it's my least favourite season. Like, it looked like literally no one in Fire nation was against war? The opposition wasn't mentioned even in the comics? HUNDRED YEARS war and Fire citizens didn't even try to do anything? This fire school arc just made me despise Fire nation more because it looks like they just don't give a damn. (Don't start on "they're being brainwashed by propaganda". If propaganda is enough to convince you that killing is good than you were never good in the first place).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jet was portraied extremely weird in Ba Ding Se too. Like... Fire nation is occupying Earth nation, killing and abusing civilians. Jet sees two fire benders in the most secured city. One of them was a war general who actually had this exact city under six hundred days siege. OBVIOUSLY he would try to arrest them. Who wouldn't? Who knows what they're doing there? Why would he believe that they don't want to do anything malicious? But show portraits it like some sort of obsession. Like he was crazy and in the wrong, like "they're not hurting anybody and he's nagging them and wants them arrested for no reason". Jet was being completely logical.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the end of the show Iroh keeps his tea shop in Ba Sing Se??? What??? The same city he had under siege? And he names it "Jasmine dragon". DRAGON. The literal symbol of Fire nation. HUNDRED YEAR war just ended, I refuse to believe that citizens were completely fine with it.
Tumblr media
And in "Legend of Korra" we find out that Fire nation still has an army? It got much smaller, but still it was pretty powerful? After hunder year war? How? WHY?
Tumblr media
It's also extremely weird that in LOK they explored goddamn ANARCHISM, but not how Fire nation is treated after the war? It looked like nobody even remembers it. It was mentioned like three times in the series.
Tumblr media
Also I read the comics and the creation of Republic city was weird af. Kuvira was terrible, but she was right at one thing: Republic city belongs to Earth kingdom. There was a lot of resistance. In comics this colony was still full of Earth civilians and culture. It wasn't completely mixed. And the argument to not returning the colony to Earth kingdom was literally "we've been colonizing this territory for so long that it can't be yours anymore" wich is dumb. It becomes even dumber when you remember it wasn't the only colony like that. It was mentioned that it was ONE OF THE OLDEST colonies. Which means there were colonies where fire culture was even more integrated. Then why weren't those colonies also turned into "something completely new"? And the resistance stopping resisting was really weird. They were extremely enthusiastic and determined and then just stopped because the Avatar came and told them "protect people, not borders"???
Tumblr media
In conclusion: "Avatar" has a lot of flaws which are caused by "love everyone" mindset, wich isn't bad at it's core, but sometimes you gotta hate. And some flaws are caused by writers' inability to understand war and what comes after. The series are amazing, and comics too, but people tend too overlook a lot of mistakes.
Thanks for reading
(no one's reading allat💀)
Also if you disagree, it's completely fine, just know that I will not argue about it. It's my opinion that I thought about for a very long time and I will not change it.

NATLA Episode 5 - Spirited Away (1/3)
[Masterlist of my NATLA thoughts]
An explanation of what I'm doing here and my history with ATLA.
Of course, full spoilers ahead.
<previous/next>
This episode shifts from taking several episodes from season 1 of the animated show and weaving them together to even drawing from future seasons/shows! I saw elements of The Winter Solstice: part 1, Bato of the Water Tribe, The Swamp (season 2), The Storm, Siege of the North part 2, that episode in Legend of Korra season 2 where (spoilers) she meets Iroh in the spirit world and sees the people lost in the Fog of Lost Souls, and honorable mentions to The Waterbending Scroll, The Fortuneteller, and The Great Divide. While that might seem like a lot to combine into one episode, I think the writers did well to pick and choose the thematic elements of each episode that would naturally condense into a Spirit World trip as well as add to Zuko's story.
This was a characterization-heavy episode that really let us delve deep into several characters - namely Katara, and Sokka, but also Azula. I feel like because Zuko has soooo much to delve into, he gets really impactful character moments every episode, but episode 6 is really his time to shine, so that's why I don't include him in that list and Aang is similar - he gets a lot of his backstory examined all through the season while Katara and Sokka don't get a chance for flashbacks.
The intro does a great job letting us know that some time has passed - and the Gaang is getting better at working/surviving together. Love the detail that Katara is learning waterbending by experience and observation rather than just being naturally good at coming up with her own forms: she saw earthbenders do the earth disks, so she made her own ice ones! The burned forest is pulled almost directly from the animated show and I like how they're tying it to not only the themes of responsibility, but also of forgiving yourself for past mistakes and planting seeds for the future.
I like the choice to have Sokka interacting with a young girl in the forest who was looking for her stolen brother rather than an old man just randomly showing up and asking for their help. The active choice for Sokka to turn on 'big brother mode', drop the Pipenpadalopsikous easter egg, and the group to CHOOSE to go to the village to help all on their own gave the characters a lot of agency rather than just being tugged along with the plot by other characters. Since they cut the Imprisoned storyline where the Gaang took that agency in the animated version, I like that they gave them that same agency here in the live-action. The included detail that the forest didn't burn due to a battle, but just because the Fire Nation wanted a clearer path to march through just shows how devoid of care Israel is - sorry, The Fire Nation is - for the natural world. While at war, just destroy everything in your path - even centuries old orchards - sorry, forests.
The change in camera focus as Aang senses the issues in the Spirit World was a really cool cue for the watcher - makes it very other-worldly. Live-action Aang already understands that he can interact with the spirit world rather than in the animation when the villager has to prompt him 'yeah, you can do that stuff' and Aang reluctantly and with a great deal of apprehension says 'right, that's me'. While I like how Aang has no idea what he's doing as he hasn't had anyone to teach him about the spirit world, he goes about things differently in the live-action. He still doesn't know exactly what to do, but he does know meditation, so he tries that - and it takes awhile and does it funky, bringing Katara and Sokka in with him.
It's great to see Zuko on the old-school hunt for the Avatar and being a dick to his crew - these two episodes in Zuko's POV draw heavily from The Storm and Bato of the Water tribe and it's a great dynamic to see between him and his crew. Then we jump to Azula laying on the flattery thick with her father and dropping the 'water the most promising seed' line! Again, reinforcing the theme of future growth - and it might not always be positive growth. Linking the themes to both sides is just soooooo goooddd. Love too, how Azula gives her suggestion for what to do and Ozai agrees, an inverse of when he'll be so disparaging of Zuko's suggested tactics in the next episode.
But oooooohhhh the sly dressing down he gives Azula, her conflicted and angrily embarrassed reaction, and then Ozai's little smirk as he pokes and prods in JUST the right way to get Azula pitted against Zuko - love love love what they did with the royal family in season 1. It'll give SO much more depth to Zuko and Azula's rivalry next season!! It is heartbreaking though that Azula was so clearly angling to get some sort of approval from her father - some praise for her abilities - praise that with Ozai is probably very rare. The two children are just so desperate for positive reinforcement from their father and while Azula's sly remarks are, of course, underhanded, you see that she's doing it because she's just a child desperate for approval - not that she was just 'born a monster'.
The Gaang's dynamic is so cute here!! Like in the animated version, Katara having complete faith in Aang even though she's no idea how he's gonna do it, Aang desperately trying to do something he knows he should be able to do but no idea how, and Sokka complaining that he's hungry which is distracting Aang from his super serious business. Their interactions are almost a direct pull from the Siege of the North Part I from the animated series when Katara and Yue are talking behind Aang as he's trying to enter the Spirit World at the oasis. Instead of stumbling into the Spirit World on accident as he chases after Hei Bai, in the live-action, Aang has to meditate for a long time before finally reaching the point where he can cross over. The detail of Katara continuing to practice her forms as they wait is really great as we don’t actually get to see animated Katara practicing much - it's just The Waterbending Scroll, and every other time, she just does the waterbending form perfectly. Yes, her skills improve, but we really miss her practicing.
It's an interesting choice to bring Sokka and Katara with Aang into the Spirit World - I can see how, with the themes they're looking to explore with these episodes, that's how they chose to do it. The main ideas being that you need to come to terms with the past so you can look forward to the future, and a great way to do a flashback sequence is through the Spirit World. The animated show didn't really show Aang much in the spirit world through these episodes - he just met Fang and was given the Spirit message to get to Roku's temple - but nothing else really Spirit Worldy happened. And we just left Sokka and ignored the fact he was there. I like them combining Aang's jaunt into the spirit world during the Siege of the North episodes here because I think it's a great story beat to hit, but the siege episodes are already a LOT, so adding even more with the spirit world journey to meet Koh would probably be too much.
Won Shi Tong was an amazing addition to the spirit world. Instead of a random monkey (that costs tons of money to CGI), they've created a model for a character we'll see in season 2. I don't really understand people confused about his presence here - like….y'all, he's a spirit? He can float around wherever - probably can be both here in the spirit world and the library at the same time? Idk, it just seems like an odd thing to be confused over. Like, why would an ancient spirit not be able to jump over into the spirit world while also holding down their presence in the material plane? It really felt like manufactured outrage trying to FORCE an issue that’s…not an issue at all.

I really wish Z/tara shippers would not speak for all PoC. Not all PoC are uncomfortable with KaTaang and not all PoC are comfortable with ZeeKay. Especially when a lot of ZK fanfiction romanticize colonization and some ZK fanfiction/fanart sexualize Katara.
And I am not sure what ZKs are talking about with claiming Aang would force Katara to let go of her water tribe heritage...When the comics and Legend of Korra proved that false. And when a lot of Z/Tara fanfiction and fanart always have Katara in fire nation red and one ZK fanfic I read kept on going on about how "Katara's caramel colored skin looks so much better in fire nation red."
"Speaking for an entire people group" seems to be something Zutara fans like to do A LOT.
As for some problematic to full on racist things Zutara fans did, I remember seeing a "list" of it somewhere, and most of it was stuff that didn't really immediately scream racism but could suddenly get to that if the writers weren't careful... and then in the middle of it there's a freaking Pocahontas AU.
I'm all for problematic stuff in stories, even in romances. I'm all for "We are here to entertain, not educate, this ain't aimed at kids." But BOY that's one loaded topic I ain't touching. I'm staying in the incest ships and kinky smut corner where it's safer.
One thing that I will agree with Zutara fans on is that it is unfair to call them "colonizers" just because they like a ship. Hell, I've seen people can Dante Basco that. DANTE! A filipino man that is constantly talking about the importance of having more POC as actors, writers, etc.

I've been thinking about Avatar: The Last Airbender recently. You know what's weird? The Four Nations. They're treated as a collective, a natural way to politically and culturally divide the world of Avatar, four units in balance. But they're not, really. They're too different.
Let's start with the Fire Nation, the closest to what you'd expect the nations to be. It's a nation-state in the most literal sense; a group of people who see themselves united by history, culture, and common descent, ruled over by a polity with a strong central government. (Relative to vassalage or something, not by modern standards.) It's pretty much exactly what you'd expect the Four Nations to be from their name, so the fact that it's the only one with Nation in its name is appropriate.
Then there's the Earth Kingdom. Unlike the Fire Nation, it's not really a unitary state. For the most part, the Earth King does not rule the Earth Kingdom like the Firelord rules the Fire Nation. It was overrun with bandits and warlords during the Kyoshi era, consolidated into warring states by the Roku era, and splintered into warring states again in Korra's era as soon as the queen was killed. The Earth Kingdom was kinda united during the Hundred-Year War, but with powerful lords acting independently of Ba Sing Se and occasionally calling themselves kings. It was united in Aang's adulthood, but that's an anomaly. Still, the Earth Kingdom isn't that different from what we'd expect from one of the Four Nations. It's a nation, just ruled by a polity too decentralized or fragmented to call a state.
We come to trouble with the Water Tribe...or, really, Water Tribes. There were times when the Northern and Southern Water Tribes were united under one chief, but it makes more sense to think of them are separate entities. The Northern Water Tribe has cities and armies and a hereditary chiefdom, with the chief's family basically being treated like royalty; the Southern Water Tribe doesn't seem to have any of those, being little more than a collection of villages with no apparent government.
Even if they were culturally identical, those distinct material conditions would make the two tribes' members very different. And they aren't culturally identical. And that's not getting into the Foggy Swamp Tribe. The Water Tribe isn't a nation. It's a collection of tribes nominally united by history and culture, but actually united by Waterbending.
And then there are the Air Nomads. It's hard to get a read on them; we don't see them in the actual show (damn you, Sozin), and the information we have on them doesn't map as cleanly to any real-world groups. They're nomads whose cultures are centered around fixed temples, with no territory and no apparent method of gathering food. They're a self-reproducing ethnic group whose men and woman are geographically separated. For that matter, they're a coherent culture, distinct from their neighbors, despite being geographically separated.
The Air Nomads are only vaguely sketched out, but they're even less like what you'd expect a "nation" to be. They didn't seem to have any central government (before they were reduced to the Avatar's family and his band of Air Acolytes), they don't have any territory to speak of, they barely have any culture beyond their spiritual beliefs. But they're still a Nation, equal to the other three.
The Four Nations have little in common. Only one and a half can be considered a unitary polity, like "nation" suggests. All except the Air Nomads and maybe Fire Nation show regional variation in culture; rural Earth Kingdom communities have more in common with the Water Tribes than Ba Sing Se, and the Northern Water Tribe arguably has more in common with the smaller, coastal Earth Kingdom states than it does with the other Water Tribes.
And there are plenty of polities, cultures, and ethnic groups that aren't considered one of the Four Nations. There are the daofei, the bandits and warlords I mentioned existing in Kyoshi's time. There are groups like the Shang of Yangchen's era or the Fifth Nation of Kyoshi's, who started as a mixture of different nations and coalesced into having a singular cultural identity (and a stronger governing institutions than most of the Four Nations). There are the sandbending Si Wong tribes, the Bhanti Island sages, and those bands from the Great Divide that nobody likes to acknowledge, but they do exist, unfortunately.
None of these groups, except arguably the United Republic of Nations, are treated as significant. They might be self-governing, with a distinct ethnic identity and spiritual beliefs and so on, and have a population that dwarfs the Air Nomads...but they're not one of the Four Nations, so they're not important. Most don't affect matters outside their immediate neighbors (generally just one of the Four Nations), almost none last more than a couple centuries (compared to the millennia that the Four Nations have been recognized as a thing), and just about all of them arguably fit into one of the Four Nations. The Bhanti sages are kinda independent but also kinda part of the Fire Nation, the various Earth Kingdom tribes are all earthbenders and are made to obey the stronger Earth Kings, even the Fire Nation colonies/Republic City aren't completely independent of the Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom.
The Doylist explanation is, of course, that the Four Nations are defined by their elements; one nation per element, one element per nation. But they're recognized as an institution in-universe—why else would the Northern Water Tribe assume leadership over the Southern when they were at the literal opposite end of the world? (They tried this before the spirit portal reopened, mind you.) And it's hard to imagine how that could be the case if it wasn't based purely on the elements in-universe, too.
The Avatar is clearly a central pillar of in-universe culture, particularly spiritual beliefs; that makes sense, since the Avatars have always been world-shaping figures, with supernatural powers beyond what anyone else is capable of. They rotate between four groups of people, each of which has a distinct powersets that each can only be inherited by members of that group.
The Water Tribe is seen as a unitary entity not because of any material reality, or even shared institutions, but because those are the people who can be Waterbenders. The Earth Kingdom constantly falls apart because of the difficulties in governing such a large area, and comes back together because Earthbenders exist. The Fire Nation is united by fire. The Air Nomads aren't put on the same level as the Fire Nation because their nation is politically significant, but because their existence is spiritually significant.
The other tribes, the daofei and the Shang, even the Fifth Nation? They might have territory and people, they might have distinct cultures, they might have political clout while they last. But they don't have their own element, and that makes them lesser. Fragile. As long as there are waterbenders, they will be one Tribe. As long as there are earthbenders, their ruler will be the Earth King. As long as there is a single airbender, the Air Nomads will be among the Four Nations.

Note
Which of the four nations do you think each of the 40 (excluding Zuko and Korra) would be part of and which ones could bend?
Remember! List is subject to change!
Indented: Character
Bullet point: Explanation
When writing my answer, I had thought of a A:TLA AU with these characters, with the exception of Korra, but let me know if anyone is interested in hearing it!
MCS (WE): A:TLA Elements
I came up with this list back with the mind set of all of them to be benders, but if I had to chose some of them to be non-benders to would be:
Spike Spiegel
He isn't rich or socially powerful as some of the other characters from his anime, but he's always quick on his feet and has a few tricks up his sleeves.
Mako Mankanshoku
She's already weaker in a sense compared to the cast of her anime, but I can see her being supportive and learning chi-blocking, even if she executes in a weird way.
Chika Fujiwara
She is definitely the opposite of Spike when it comes to wealth and social standing, but I could imagine her more in a role of where she is a non-bender but is very manipulative, kind of playing mind games with her opponent.
Tohru Honda
She didn't need special powers in order to help the Sohma family, so a non-bender role would fit with her.
Izuku Midoriya
I don't think I need to say it.
Senku Ishigami
HE WILL USE SCIENCE TO DECIMATE ANY BENDERS WHO WISH HIM OR HIS LOVED ONES HARM! CHANGE MY MIND!
Iruma Suzuki
He's isn't a fighter, but we have seen him train and fight when faced against the odds, even though he is just a human in the Netherworld full of demons.
Nagisa Shiota
Naturally adaptable and can easily fool his opponents into dropping their guard because of his unassuming appearance.
Ciel Phantomhive
It's in a similar vain to Chika, but he would be pulling more strings in the background to combat any benders.
But regardless, here is my take on your question!
Fire:
Heine Wittgenstein
Earth would be a good element for him as he endured so much from both versions of his backstory. However, because he was a leader in both stories and he was driven to make changes to the kingdom/lives of those who lived in the lower class better, I put him with fire.
Satoru Gojo
He wants to change how the jujutsu system is and has an insane amount of drive, even if it seems he’s just kickback. Not to mention he already has such powerful and destructive technique, what could possibly go wrong? (Answer: Everything).
Kusuo Saiki
Even in the most ridiculous of situations, he has the drive and energy to achieve his goals and or a quiet life.
Rin Okumura
Driven, determined, stubborn, wants to be the best exorcist and defeat Satan, definitely a firebender.
Soma Yukihira
His biggest drive is to beat his father and to become the best chef in the world, making his perfect element fire.
Ciel Phantomhive
Ironic that he’s fire, but I chose this element as he is a leader who takes charge of his life, even if it means to make a contract with a demon. He knows what he wants and he doesn’t care what it takes to get it.
Killua Zoldyck
Fire, and not just for his lighting. He has the strength and determination to fight for what he believes, even if it means fighting against his family or powerful enemies. He will even use everything in his arsenal to see that Alluka, his friends, and Gon are safe and sound.
Emma
Definitely fire as she is driven to get the kids of the orphanage out of there and safe all the while doing everything in her power so they can get to the human world safely. I could see her as earth too, but she isn't afraid to challenge the system.
Earth:
Levi Ackerman
Is a firm leader who doesn't bend (ha!) to anyone and keeps marching forward even in the hardest of times.
Kobayashi
Blunt, stubborn, but determined and headstrong, I can see her as a powerful earthbender who knows how to keep others in line.
Edward Elric
Even though he has a short temper, he would make a perfect earthbender as he already works with so many elements from the earth and is stubborn to a fault.
Senku Ishigami
He has conviction and drive, but also when he sets his mind to a goal, there is no talking him out of it. For better or for worse, he take on any challenge he comes across and sweeps everyone else along for the ride.
(Plus I can imagine him using his bending and science to creating Octo-Arms just like Doc Ock.)
Air:
Saitama
While indifferent, he still has a heart and fights for the right thing. He can come off as rude or cynical, but that’s only because his indifference affects his social interactions. I first thought fire or earth would be his forte, but then I thought of how he usually fights in the defense of others. Sure he wants to find a fight that he can go all out in, but more often than not, get involved in a fight when civilians or an area is in danger. So I thought air would fit him.
Naegi Makoto
He tries to keep the peace and finds a resolution, and absolutely hates the idea of killing. But he brings a sense of community to the group he leads.
Legoshi
He is quite humble as he purely uses his strength for the sake of others and to protect them, so he would be a prefect airbender
Mako Mankanshoku
Full of life, cheer, and loves her family and friends to the very core, even through the hardest time, she has such high spirits that it’s hard to not get swept up in it.
Ryota Suzui
He doesn’t like to take risks, but is shown to pull through when the stakes are high. Smart, yet thoughtful. Careful, but determined. But above all else, he is grounded.
Tetsuya Kuroko
As you know, he works best in the shadows and as a support. And since air can be used to support the other elements, this is perfect for him.
Izuku Midoriya
He deeply cares for those he loves and stands up for what is right. While some go with fire, I see air bending as more of his style.
Shoyo Hinata
He doesn't like to be shackled by his own limitations, which is why he strives to break them so he can go higher.
Shigeo Kageyama
He can be naive at times, but he has a deep understanding of people and emotions, and plus his esper abilities already deals with spirits, so this is a good choice for him.
Iruma Suzuki
He doesn't have material desires, he just wants to live his life with his family and friends. He may be a gentle soul, but when push comes to shove, he can pull off amazing feats.
Hanako
Because of his playful nature and that he strives to protect the spirit world and those he cares deeply for.
Water:
Italy
One of his famous landmark is the Grand Canal, but I see that he is a peacekeeper, but also a fighter if need be, (i.e. Turkey). I considered him as an Airbender, but he has earthly attachments so water I found was a better fit as he also cares for his family and friends and can adapt pretty much everywhere, even in the wackiest of ways.
Spike Spiegel
Like his philosophy, he goes with the flow of life and adapts to anything life throws at him. He also has a heart, even if he doesn’t show it.
Satoru Fujinuma
When he has to constantly live through Revival, he has to adapt and be quick to find the oddity. And even if he doesn’t show it or says he doesn’t have the capacity to care about others, he constantly puts himself in harm's way for their sake.
L Lawliet
He is adaptable in so many ways that he always has a contingency plan. Even if one plan fails, he’s quick to come up with another and is always strategizing, like his mind games with Light.
Yuuri Katsuki
He has a deep love for his family, friends, and later on Victor. His entire program centers around the concept of love and during his training he learns how to adapt both physically and mentally.
U-1146
Definitely determined and hardworking, for his ultimate goal is to protect the body and the cells that live in it, making him the perfect waterbender.
Haruka Nanase
Do I even need to say it?
Kae Serinuma
Throughout the changes of her life, she adapts and finds ways to conquer through them. And she wishes for the others to get along, even if she’s oblivious to their feelings for her.
Langa Hasegawa
Adapts from snowboarding to skateboarding in a matter of seconds and deeply cares towards his new found family.
Chika Fujiwara
As a politician's daughter, she needs to be ready for anything. With all her skill sets and to be able to switch the situation to her advantage, this is her element. (But now I’m terrified that she will try to learn blood bending.)
Mafuyu Sato
Despite being soft spoken and most of the time expressionless, he has a big heart and cares for those he loves, especially when he is afraid of saying the wrong thing. He found a place within the band and could definitely call it home.
Tohru Honda
Gentle, thoughtful, sometimes stubborn, has adapted to the worse, and a healer to all, this is her element.
Haruhi Fujioka
Often blunt and lacking tack at times, she has shown to be understanding and quite motherly at times, which makes her caring but brings about a tough love.
Tanjiro Kamado
He is entirely devoted to his family and those he cares about and strives not only to find a cure for his sister, but to rid Muzan from the world so that innocent people can live out their lives in peace.
Nagisa Shiota
He mostly puts others in front of himself, but he is ready to fight for his classmates and teachers, as they all become this weird, but wonderful family.

yeah the yangchen book is definetley an improvement of the water tribes as despicted in the kyoshi books. i think on the kyoshi blooks FC Yee just hyperfocused too much on making the fire nation look good by making everyone look just so much more poor and corrupt to make them look cooler IG. I think we just need to step away a bit from Fire Nation favoritism in general tbh. I think Korra made the right step in not featuring it at all.
Honestly i take focusing primarily on the Fire Nation as a red flag. I don't think any of it comes from a place of outward, self-aware malice, but it so often it reveals some deeply racist shit. Like the amount of tags i'd have to block because i was so disenheartened with how many people clearly didn't see people like me as a human being or their cultural equal and it was seriously affecting my mental health and manifesting as those stomachaches you get when other kids point at you and laugh in elementary school, it's ridiculous.
There's something about fixating on the Fire Nation and characters from it that just brings that shit to the forefront and discourages any deeper analysis in why they make these assumptions. I don't care for it.

I've seen a lot of talk about this in the fandom and it's time to ask my fellow Zutarians....WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS!?
And *no*, not: do you think we'll get any Zutara, because no, of course not. There's no way that's going to happen. That's not what this is about.
It's about how the creators themselves *Destroyed the Gaang* and everything we loved about them (Iroh Included!) in The Legend of Korra & in the comics!
And yes, Uncle Iroh is most definitely included in this, because there is just NO WAY you could *ever* convince me, that the wonderful loving Uncle that left *everything* behind to follow his nephew into *banishment* would just up and call it quits when his beloved nephew becomes the Fire Lord!
Nope. Nuh uh. *NOT* going to happen. He would either stay and help Zuko and put his tea shop on hold. Or he would open up a Franchise, keeping the original in Ba Sing Se with another owner, while he opened another in the Fire Nation. Or he would just manage over the place from the Fire Nation, while going to visit every once in a while.
Because WHY would Uncle ABANDON him when Uncle *never* wanted Zuko to be abandoned in the first place, which is why he originally went with Zuko when he didn't have to!?
It makes *no sense* and is *completely out of character.*
Mai - We're just going to disrespect her so much, that not only will she not even get a *mention* by name in Korra, but we're going to leave it a "mystery" as to who Izumi's mom is???? WHY??? For what purpose!?
Dang man, not even Zutarians are that harsh to Mai. What in the world!?
Suki is also never mentioned.
Everyone but Katara gets a statue.
Katara and Aangs kids grow up *miserable* for the most part, with Aang being an absent parent to all but Tenzin.
Sokka DIES ALONE AND WITH NO HEIRS!!??
BA-SCUSE ME!!!???
The one dude getting *all* the ladies dies this way!?
WHY!?
Toph *refuses* to talk about her failed past love lives to any of her children, ultimately being an awful mom, and then going to live alone in the wilderness!?
WHY DID NOT ONE MEMBER GET A HAPPY LIFE OR ENDING!???
Which brings me back to our story topic!
What is this movie going to be about exactly!?
Suki dying?
Katara being neglected by Aang like we get to see in the comics?
Zuko being bullied by Mai, like we get to see in the comics?
Uncle being absent?
Sokka going through mourning?
WHAT COULD WE POSSIBLY HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO!?
Tell us your thoughts below!

A disgusting suggestion I got from Pinterest. Uh why did I even sign up for that site? Because I was just looking for some pictures a few months ago? I'll stop with that site after this shit:
Tumblr media
That race was just child's play, Korra was acting like a big sister here and that scene was there to show that Korra doesn't take the role of Avatar seriously yet? Also, she's a teenager?
She ditched Tenzin because she was manipulated by her uncle who convinced her that he could teach her much better about spiritual things. She also apologized to Tenzin for that.
It was completely obvious her uncle started a civil war?! Starting with the whole occupation by the Northern Water Tribe?
She mostly disagreed with Mako, mainly because his advices were of no use to save her tribe?
The context in this scene. She literally sided with her tribe, which was under occupation by the Northern Water Tribe. If anyone upset the balance, it was her uncle. She stood on the side of the oppressed tribe, on the side of her tribe, which was deprived of its independence. How dare she take a stand, how dare she defend her own tribe from occupation!
This is like arguing that we should not have taken sides when Nazi Germany invaded Poland! Or in the case of the Avatar, not to take sides in the war between the Fire Nation and the rest of the world. Seriously WTF?! The conflict had already escalated, her tribe urgently needed military and political support to defend its independence. How she dared the desperate act to get help for her tribe.
This isn't even the worst anti-Korra take. I've seen posts criticizing Korra for daring to threaten the Earth Queen (in the context Korra and the others were defending the new airbenders from Dai Li agents), threatening the Earth Kingdom airship crew (and in the context she and Asami had just managed to break free from them) or threatening Red Lotus that she was going to kill them all (in the context of the scene where they were going to start torturing her and after that try to kill her) or when she "threatened" Tarrlok to release her friends from prison while he tried to blackmail her into submitting to him if she wants him to do it.
I found an uh... old neoduskcomics "sarcastic" comic on Tumblr and DeviantArt showing how “awful” Korra was in Book 2 because, among other things, she dared to threaten the judge for giving her father a DEATH SENTENCE. How dare Korra defy the authorities who just SENTENCED HER FATHER TO DEATH! Really? How dare Korra be angry because her father...I repeat...was SENTENCED TO DEATH! I mean, who's crazy does that, normal people don't get frustrated and angry and even threaten violence if a member of their family is sentenced to death for a crime they didn't commit? Right? She is so obnoxious!
Also the comic portrayed it as her oppressing non-bender there? Like she's hypocritical for doing the opposite of Book 1? They showed the scene like she threatened the judge with waterbending (that's not what happened at all btw) implying that she was doing that because he was supposedly non-bender (I watch scene multiple times, I still can't find any confirmation that judge was non-bender?). Again, she threatened the judge only because he sentenced her father to death, not because he was supposedly non-bender. But again how otherwise literally demonizing Korra if not making shit up about plot?
Or how she supposedly tried to stop Unalaq by force, when in reality she did it when she tried to break her father out of prison, and only attacked Unalaq to distract him so they could escape because her father wasn't there.
And how she didn't listen to her father not to try anything rash before she attacked the judge on the road. The comic of course completely ignores the fact that Korra only did this after seeing her mother completely emotionally broken. Haters as usual like to ignore this very important context. I'm sorry but I had to get some frustration out of me.

Since we're bringing up potential cartoon crossovers, how about if the Calamity trio ended up in the Avatar The Last Airbender world, maybe Anne with Aang, Sokka, and Katarra, Sasha with Zuko and Iroh, and Marcy with Suki and the Kyoshi warriors (if you have better ideas on where the girls end up with, you can change them up)?
So if I was going to do an crossover AU I, personally, would not go for an isekai angle. Avatar, like the Star Wars AU I was asked about a while back, would be one I would want to have the characters to be born into the setting naturally instead of being dropped into it.
Mostly because I don't know how much their entering into the plot of ATLA itself would change things. Avatar already has a chosen one character in Aang. While Marcy might be all for a big heroic adventure, Anne and Sasha would be less inclined.
If I was going to set them all up I actually would probably set them up in the time period of Legend of Korra. Cause man what a fun setting and a mixed bag of concepts.
For this AU Anne Sasha and Marcy all grew up in republic city together.
Girls, Before Timeskip
Anne: Gonna buck convention here, Anne's family is from the fire nation, specifically the outer archipelago around the Ember Isles. As to why, its cause ATLA's designers took a lot of inspiration from thai culture for the architecture and fashion on the island. The next incarnation of the Avatar, as her family has roots in some of the water benders who had been captured and brought back as prisoners to the fire nation (like Hana). Does not realize she's a bender at all until she is 12, extremely late bloomer. Discovers she's actually the Avatar on her 13th birthday when she peforms airbending on accident.
Sasha: Comes from an old established colonial family that helped establish Republic City back when it was a fire nation colony. Ethnically I think she'd be half Fire Nation half Earth Kingdom, mostly because this comic about Sasha being Wasian lives rent free in my head since I saw it months ago. She'd probably be a brunette since I don't think blonde hair would be a... thing in Avatar world I think I would make her an earth bender of a fire bender. Mostly cause I like how it would play into her role as the defender of the group and also so she can pick up lava bending in later seasons. Sasha as the only bender for most of their life was also the group protector on the rough and tumble streets of Republic City. Idolized Toph as just a top tier ass kicker.
Marcy: Comes from a family who immigrated to Republic City from Ba Sing Se around the time it became republic city. The only truely nonbender of the group, Marcy spent child hood always a little envious of Sasha. This only grew worse when it turned out Anne was also a bender and Marcy started to feel like the odd one out. Marcy is absolutely obsessed with the technological advances being made in the city. Once Anne is recognized as the Avatar, Marcy throws herself more ardently into her studies of engineering
Plot: So at the start we get a similar set up as canon. Sasha see's herself as the protector and boss of the trio who, even after Anne has had a year with her water bending. On Anne's birthday, Sasha convinces Anne and Marcy to break into the construction site. Things are going alright until some cops show up. Sasha calls for them to run, but Marcy being her clumsy self ends up almost falling off a girder. Anne narrowly manages to pull Marcy back, but at the cost of her own balance and falls. Sasha tries to do something, but there isn't much earth to work with and she doesn't know how to metal bend. Anne in full view of these cops and some onlookers shoots out a jet of air from her hand to save herself.
Anne is made an instant celebrity. Republic cities first Avatar! The people of the water tribes are resentful since culturally Anne is fire nation and one of them were expected to have the next avatar. Anne is stressed and would do anything to put this genie back in the bottle. She didn't want to be the avatar. That was a lot of responsibility! She wasn't even a good bender!
Sasha has a bit of an identity crisis and Marcy is excited for Anne but also nervous that her friends are going to leave her behind.
The white lotus + Tenzin approaches Bee and Oum, insisting Anne be taken into hiding until they can train her. They are hesitant as Anne is already overwhelmed by all the changes and expectations placed on her. However, when a red lotus attack almost kills their daughter they accept.
So in an interesting twist for Amphibia Fanfic, it's Anne who is moving away for a while. Sasha and Marcy both beg the White Lotus members to let them come and keep Anne company but are refused. Sasha argues they should at least take her because she's a talented earth bender and could be a sparing partner for Anne. This argument also doesn't work but does deeply hurt Marcy, since if it had worked it would leave her alone in Republic City.
So Anne is taken away, tearful goodbyes and promises of letters.
Girls During Timeskip
Anne: Anne is deeply resentful of her position of the Avatar and the expectations set upon her shoulders by the world and white lotus. She gets passively adequate at all 4 elements but isn't particularly talented in either. However, in theming with her position as the heart in Amphibia, she does seem to have an extremely natural talent for dealing with spirits which will pay dividends over the course of the series. Anne stays in close contact with Sasha for the entire time skip. However, after something terrible happens to Marcy, and Anne fails to sneak out to go see her, Anne sends letter after letter sending her sympathies and apologizing for being unable to come, but never gets any letters backand so loses contact with Marcy. Though she's determined to rebuild that connection upon her return.
Sasha: After Anne left Sasha fully threw herself into practicing bending, wanting to turn herself into a pillar Anne could rely on once her adventures as an Avatar truly begin. In the process however she kind of turned her back on Marcy. Without Anne as the glue of their relationship, Sasha starts to see Marcy as a social anchor around her ankle as she tries to put together a 'squad' strong enough to support Anne. However she secretly comes to regret this, as without Anne or Marcy be her side, Sasha's only 'friends' are those who are obsessed with their image and reputation, so she no longer has a refuge where she can just act herself. Way too proud to try and make up with Marcy, especially after the incident.
Marcy: A bit lonelier and overworked, Marcy is a prodigious inventor that was scouted by Sato corp right out of school. Once Sasha distanced herself, Marcy threw herself into her studies not making many connections with others. 3 years after Anne leaves Marcy has the incident. Some bending bullies from the girls past who grew into members of the triad. They try to corner Marcy one night when she was alone and without friends. Marcy runs but ends up in an accident and loses her arm as a result. Marcy writes Anne a tear stained letter, begging her to visit cause she feels hurt and alone. We learn that Anne tried to sneak out back then but was caught. Anne wrote back apologizing and promising she did everything she could, but the white lotus intercept the letter and it never gets to Marcy and vice versa. Leaving Marcy to believe she's been abandoned by both of her friends
Story Start
As Anne's 18th birthday rolls around Anne is officially done with life in the compound and enlists the help of dozens of spirits to help her break out this time. They sow chaos and give Anne the time she needs to get to a village and book passage to her home in Republic City. Anne first seeks out Sasha, since they still have an active connection and knows Sasha has a championship match coming up. Sasha is of course super happy to reunite with her and introduce her to her Probending Team. I don’t have a lot of details for these two but they are both pretty insufferable as people. They clearly see Anne as a way for them to boost their reputations.
After a night with them Anne asks Sasha if she knows where Marcy is so that she can visit. Sasha is reticent, clearly ashamed of how she left things with Marcy, and encourages Anne to move on. Maybe even tries the ‘end of discussion’ move. However in this AU Anne has spent the last half decade being told what to do by every adult in her life, so she’s not going to just meekly ascent to Sashas command and seeks out Marcy anyways.
She eventually finds Marcy still living in all of their old neighborhood, and just teary eyes sprints to her and pulls her into a big bear hug. Marcy is shocked, both that Anne is there and cares about her. They talk through the misunderstanding pretty quick and reform their connection and spend the night catching up. Marcy proudly shows Anne the steampunk as hell prosthetic arm she developed for herself and talks about her job at Sato Corp. Anne confides in Marcy about her insecurities and resentment about being the Avatar. Marcy becomes the first person in five years to agree with her that it is an unfair burdan she has been saddled with, rather than insist that its one she needs to take up anyways. Which is in retrospect will make a lot of sense when part way through season 1 its revealed that Marcy is an equalist and is the one developing their weapons for Mr. Sato.
So I think that pretty much sets the stage. Giving Anne a friend who both represent flawed ideas of the equalist conflict. Sasha having fully embracing the status quo of ‘Benders are superior and should be treated as such’. And Marcy representing the sympathetic but flawed ‘Some benders abuse their power so all benders must be neutralized for society to progress’.
and maybe I’ll flesh it out more later but the scene that I think is really cool is when Marcy is revealed as an equalist. Cause Marcy isn’t working against Anne in this AU. Or using their bond to betray her. She eventually tells the truth on her own and tries to get Anne to join her. Insisting that Anne is right, it isn’t fair that everyone has these expectations of her. She shouldn’t have to be the avatar if she doesn’t want to be. And wouldn’t she like to go back to the way things were before all this happened when they were on even footing with each other.
Which is a really juicy dilemma for Anne to chew on. Cause she’s not a great bender and she doesn’t want this job.

I think LOK's issue (or, one of the many) is that it seems to work smoothest when binge watching the seasons (doesn't improve the storytelling, but it IS a binge-watcher season style of storytelling) which is kinda fascinating when it came out just before the major boom in binge-streaming.
also I agree that a longer style would allow us to get and see things like how the water tribes have evolved, the state of fire nation technology and culture, and what everywhere that the gaang visited is like without the war. I remember being most excited to seeing how the world got to grow and heal after the war and then the series never did that.
Yes, and most importantly, bear in mind that the first season of Legend of Korra was supposed to be a stand-alone season. It was intended to be a one-shot series. They did not announce seasons 2-4 were green-lit until season 1 actually had a chance to start pulling in viewers, and for a while it almost didn't happen at all.
But they only had 12 episodes in which to establish an entire new generation, new technology, all of the "what happened after" stuff, establish whole new characters, and tell multiple storylines. Which left us getting Korra's introduction, her entire new friends group, the introductions of Bolin, Mako and Asami, supporting characters like Tenzin and Lin and the airbender family, a whole cultural anti-bending revolution, gang wars, an inner-city war, a whole sport, and a love rectangle shoved into 12 episodes. None of it ever has a chance to really be established, because you ping-pong back and forth between characters and plot points so fast you don't have a chance to. It's a classic case of too much, too fast.
But if the series had 20 episodes, some of this could be expanded on. How about some character development episodes for the brothers or Asami outside of their prescribed roles as "main character's crush," "girl keeping main character's crush from her," and "goofy comedy relief"? How about some episodes of the 4 of them interacting together for a more minor issue, or teaching each other things? How about exploring more of the cross-cultural aspects of the city, with mixed-blood families and all kinds of benders interacting? Build up these character relationships more, and not necessarily in the 'love rectangle' sense of the word. Let them learn things. Let them develop as characters outside the context of the main plot.
And that's not even getting into the stuff people REALLY wanted to see: what happened to their beloved characters from the OLD series!!! Where are Katara, Sokka, Toph, Suki, and Zuko??? What about other side characters????
Bearing in mind the rest of the 3 seasons have to sit on this hastily rushed cram-packed foundation means seasons 2-4 are also on pretty shaky footing. They didn't exactly leave themselves a lot to build on. Most notably with character development--which is again, something I think could really have been solved with a few extra character-centric episodes.
It led to some real problems with pacing and character development. ATLA is centered around Aang's journey to learn all 4 elements, when he's only starting with 1. It gave him 3 seasons to work with and 3 seasons to gradually get stronger. When we first meet Korra, on the other hand, she's already mastered most elements and is an absolute powerhouse. Once she learns Air, there's nowhere for her to really go--which might have been an okay premise in the context of a one-season series, but absolutely meant they ran into a wall with the seasons after.
Korra isn't the only one with this problem either. The writing team obviously wanted a firebender on hand as a starting friend, thus the introduction of Mako. But Mako already starts out (we're told, at least, in the promotional material) as a fire-bending prodigy who is already an expert with lightning. Which is cool until you realize he has nowhere to go, either. Mako never has any physical character development for improvements, and he doesn't have much personality development either, because he was only designed to be "team strong guy and hot dude who the main character crushes on."
At least Bolin got to learn Lava bending...many seasons later.
Korra had potential for sure. There were good concepts in that story. It was just so rushed that it felt like a conveyer belt through Major Plot Points, without really getting a chance to develop any of the characters outside of basic archetypes.

In the Comics about Korra, we learn that the Water Tribes doesn't exactly approve homossexuality and neither does the Fire Nation. Like always, the Air Nomades are the good guys who accept everything. But in my opinion it doesn't make any sense.
In the Fire Nation, both genders are treated equally (or as close to it as possible), at least is what we can see in the show. And it seems that they don't discriminate non benders (Mai and Ty Lee are Azula's first option to help to capture the Avatar and Zuko), so I really don't think they would think homossexuality as something forbidden. - I can see them making huge parties that look like orgies hahaha
The Air Nomades literally separeted women from men and are so closed with their beliefs - what is kinda crazy because air is freedom and Aang can't even think by himself, it's always what the monks taught him - that I don't think they would allow the relantioship in a more carnal way, just maybe platonic. And if they where so free, why Aang just get obssessed with Katara since the beginning? wouldn't make more sense if he showed interested in other people (boys) or talked about this freedom to love as part of his culture?
I think that this whole thing was just to make the Air Nomades even more good and the Water Tribes and the Fire Nation the bad guys. The Water Tribes were already very patriarcal and misogynist and the Fire Nation already sucks with the whole war thing, they didn't need to add any more flaws to both nations.
I know the show were aired 15 years ago and nobody would talk about homossexuality in a kids show so open, but Korra came with all of this and they just chose to keep the air nomades as some kind of Gods who doesn't do anything wrong while the other Nations keep screwing up. And Korra even says that Sozin (the one who forbade homossexual relantionship) was the worst. Reducing the whole thing to: Good guys accept it and bad guys forbade it.
Yeah, I think the way the Water Tribe is portrayed in particular verges on stereotypes of backwards indigenous peoples, although Katara had to learn her feminism from somewhere (and I headcanon it was from her mom and grandmother. Kanna said no to misogyny first, y'all.)
I also agree that it doesn't really make sense for the Air Nomads, given what we know about them, to be so open with gender and sexuality. Traditionally, Tibetan Buddhism frowned on homosexuality and any kind of sex that was not for procreation. But the American stereotype of Tibetans is of these super-enlightened super mystical people. They tend to be idealized in our cultural consciousness rather than demonized, but that's still a racist stereotype that reduces a culture to its "theme park" version.
It's also kind of funny how some people try to say that zutara is a "het" ship as a way to criticize it but then try to argue that kataang isn't and insist that Aang can’t possibly be cishet (because he likes jewelry or something, talk about a homophobic stereotype) even though he was raised in a culture that was gender segregated and then literally imprints on the first person of the opposite sex that he meets.
As for the Fire Nation, we have these guys enjoying music night on Zuko's ship:
Tumblr media
Which is contrary to what we later learn about the Fire Nation's strict rules against parties and dancing, much less two men dancing to a song about romance, but you could also chalk this up to sailors at sea engaging in things that would be considered taboo otherwise.

Also in Korra does the white lotus do the same in modulus? If so does Zaheer and the red lotus still exist in the same way?
I haven't entirely worked out yet how all the geopolitics play out. I can see the White Lotus either becoming more proactive in things with the collapse of the EK into decentralized, ever-shifting nation-states following a massive rebellion that breaks the power of Ba Sing Se.
On the other hand, the same series of events could cause the White Lotus to turtle even more, and very much invest in finding the Avatar and raising them under protection as soon as possible. Korra's parents would be pretty much forced to choose between their child and everything else (of course, they choose Korra). Because the last thing the White Lotus wants is for the Avatar to die in some rebellion, or worse, get influenced by these revolutionary ideas. (lol)
The White Lotus is fairly canonically invested in maintaining the status quo, or the status quo as it existed pre-war. They favor balance over disruption, but that also means they would have to oppose positive disruption aimed at oppressive forces that have existed for a long time. The White Lotus is fine with the Dai Li and returns Kuei to power, despite no evidence that another advisor can't just slide into Long Feng's place.
For the Red Lotus, I think they at some level have to exist because for the White Lotus's ethos demands an equal and opposite, ironically enough, for there to be a balance. (We can blame Shin Megami Tensei's influence on me at this point, for why the extremes of both "order" and "chaos" are equally bad for humanity and the world.) The form that the Red Lotus takes is still nebulous, but I can say it's not going to be "lol anarchy".
I will also note that I need to figure out if the Red Lotus members get imprisoned for a time or not as they do in canon. If they do, that would end up being a major sticking point between Zuko and Azula, and whatever relationship they managed to have at that point would be well and truly burned to the ground. Because even a few months in the conditions they suffered under in the asylum/prison were enough to have a profound effect on Azula's views regarding captivity and humane justice.
Yeah, it's a bit of "wow I didn't realize how bad this is until it actually affected me personally" but it'd lead to a pretty bad argument that would take a long time to come back from. (Think "punishment for the sake of punishment is just cruelty" and how that kind of cruelty sounds like something a certain Fire Lord would do. And then how that would be the high point of the argument.) Depending on the timing, possibly not until Asami forces it.

Lily: Zuko wasn't redeemed and didn't need one because he is an abused child of a tyrannical father figure so Zuko was just escaping abuse and wasn't redeemed and didn't need one If that is what Lily thinks, how is Hunter any different? Hunter is an abused child of a tyrannical father figure escaping abuse. So why does Zuko get a pass and Hunter doesn't? Oh right because Hunter committed the terrible sin of being a white male and being a character archetype Lily isn't fond of. Atrocious. Hell honestly Hunter has more reason than Zuko to be complacent and aiding the evil thing their father figure is doing because Hunter was literally lied to about everything his entire life, he didn't know the sigils were dangerous, he was led to believe wild magic was the cause of the death of his family. As much as Zuko is influenced by his father and the fire nation he could still see the harm being done to others and knew it was harmful, he still made wrong choices that actively hurt others like getting Kyoshi island burned down even to the point of betraying his uncle who had been there for him. Yes Zuko deserves a second chance but he did need to earn it, not just "he was abused so he deserves another chance". Both Zuko and Hunter deserve a second chance but Zuko isn't just the poor abused child Lily says he is and Hunter isn't just a jerk that should've known better, they both have their faults and virtues. Lily: "Victims of abuse do not need to change ever" So why is Hunter apparently a good for nothing jerk then? And I'm pretty sure Zuko kind of needed to work on his anger issues a bit Also I really like Luz but Lily: Omg Hunter's archetype is so shitty and boring Luz is just the typical optimistic protagonist made to be relatable and people find that boring Amity is the snobby high society girl that learns to be nicer and people find that boring A character being an archetype isn't bad it just depends that they do their own thing with that archetype which Owl House does with its characters. But god forbid you commit the sin of: using an archetype that doesn't match Lily's tastes.
To be fair, she does seem to have gone off Zuko nowadays. She now thinks Avatar is sexist cause Zuko got a chance but Azula didn't when.....from what I've seen off show, you do feel bad for Azula, but you can also see how evil she is at the same time. But sounds about right with the Hunter thing. Like, she keeps going on about him being another angst white boy and even admitted him being black would make him interesting to her, so like, race definitely plays a-part in why she doesn't like Hunter.
Honestly, I think both Zuko and Hunter are good examples at least of characters realizing the situation they in and choosing to leave. Like, Hunter obviously denies it at first but we do eventually sadly see him have a panic attack upon learning the truth and seeing how his uncle truly is, while Zuko was almost there, but he slipped into wanting his fathers approval like he and Azula always wanted, but he eventually saw how wrong this all was and left for good to help the Avatar. But your not wrong on Zuko's anger issues. I haven't read the comics, but I'm gonna assume they at least continued the character arcs, so hopefully Zuko got to work on those in the comics at least, as by Korra, he's definitely mellowed out and unlike his father, clearly cares about his daughter when she's among the leaders who could be harmed in book 3.
I mean, we both know why Hunter's an exception: he's white. Like, we know she's gone off Zuko, but the only reason she won't put him with Hunter is cause Zuko obviously isn't white. But when it comes to Hunter, she actually somehow compares him to the likes of Kylo Ren and its just....lord help us if she ever decides to make a OC X Willow or OC X Skara fic just so she can trash Hunter. Pretty much. Like, every show starts off with the characters acting as archetypes, but it's how the show develops them that should be matter. In Owl House's case, they do development pretty well, but I don't think Lily's watching that cause uh, she for some reason thinks Lilith and Amity didn't develop and instead, had prior character stuff thrown out in favor of new personalities. Yes. Yes she actually believes that. If you ever commit that sin, your show is trash to her or she acts like you just need to scrap that character cause Lily can now read minds suddenly to see if your just obsessed with a character or if they apart of the show's plot.

Imagine being Tenzin's eldest daughter and dating Bolin which Tenzin isn't very pleased with. So Tenzin makes it his mission to keep you and Bolin apart which just means the two of you find sneakier ways to be together.
Part Two here
Tenzin got back to his house and for once it was quiet, confused where the small army he shared his house with was he approached his second eldest daughter Jinora. "Where's korra?" Tenzin asked. "With Asami". "And Ikki and Meelo?". "With uncle Boomi". “And your mother?”. “Out with Aunt Kya”. Tenzin smiled everyone was taken care of and he could finally relax. "And y/n and Bolin?" Tenzin asked relaxing into his chair. "They'e in y/n's room" Jinora shrugged and Tenzin jumped up "with the door closed? Y/n" he bellowed pushing the door open with air bending. "Okay okay im sorry" he heard you yell and Tenzin sighed having your boyfriend stay here was making him age faster.
You and Bolin were in your room relaxing on the bed preparing to watch a movie. For once you didn’t have to babysit your younger siblings or train so had rushed off for some privacy with Bolin and your dad almost kicked the door down. Your dad was insanely worried about leaving you and Bolin alone despite the fact you were dating and Bolin was the sweetest guy in the world. Bolin had been trying to show you the mover he was in for week but you never had a spare moment where you could be alone with him. So when your dad had gone out and left you and Bolin with no task it seemed like the perfect time. You were determined your dad wouldn’t stop another one of your dates but of course he managed to. When your door flew open you sighed and called back you’d leave it open as per your dad’s many rules about you and Bolin. You looked to Bolin worried this would ruin the date but Bolin didn’t seem to mind. The movie started and you moved closer to Bolin to lean against him and he accomodated you hugging you against him. You and Bolin were just getting into the movie, despite the noise your family was making throughout the house when your father knocked on the open door and walked in. "Y/n its getting late, i think you and Bolin should get ready to go to sleep soon so he should go do that in his room soon". You nodded at your dad in reply so engrossed in the film you didn’t realise he hadn’t left. Tenzin coughed and you both looked up to see he didn't look impressed. "Ow you mean now?" Bolin asked and Tenzin nodded "well yes i think that'd be best". You blushed as Tenzin stood waiting glaring at Bolin. Bolin jumped up obediently while you pouted annoyed. Bolin paused the film and gathered his things and smiled "we can finish the movie tomorrow". You nodded "i suppose" and Bolin went to step towards you when Tenzin actually growled. A literal noise escaped his throat at Bolin daring to step closer to you. You sighed but Bolin just smirked and left shooting you a smile. Tenzin watched him go staring into his back and then turned to your door and fixed two bells around the door handle. "Dad!" You cried "what is that?". "Nothing just a decoration...". "You're doing it so you’ll know if i leave my room! Do you not trust me?". "I trust you y/n but i do not trust teenage boys! And i have to do my duty as your father! Having your boyfriend under the same roof..i have to take precautions". "But you didn't do this for Mako and Korra!". "Yes well Korra is older than you and Mako is more responsible than Bolin". You groaned and Tenzin coughed "you weren’t going to break the rules so this shouldn’t be an issue for you". You rolled your eyes "fine whatever...can i go to sleep now?". Tenzin nodded "i am only doing it because i love you y/n, if you have children you’ll understand". You huffed and Tenzin frowned "well goodnight y/n". "Goodnight dad" you said exasperatedly as the door closed but you didn’t plan on sleeping. Your dad hadn’t put bells on your window so as soon as you heard him go to bed you got ready. You gathered what you needed and climbed out of your window before airbending onto the roof. You carefully climbed across the roof to Bolin’s room and landed outside his window. You knocked on Bolin’s window film projector in hand and saw the curtains swing aside as Bolin realised it was you. "Y/n" Bolin grinned hanging out of his window "what are you doing here?". "Well we didn't get to finish the movie because of my dad so i figured we could now without him knowing?". Bolin hesitated for two seconds before grinning "yes come on it!". It had only been lightly raining but Bolin still wrapped a blanket around you before bringing you back to your prefered spot on the bed. He bustled around getting the movie ready and the secret snacks Tenzin didnt know about before jumping down next to you.
The film finished and Bolin looked at you anxiously "so what did you think...i wasn't sure if it was too far fetched and could you tell i couldn’t do my stunts properly and i didn’t look that great in that scene with the royal guards...". "Bolin" you said grabbing his shoulders "it was great! You were great in it, your stunts were amazing, your acting was really good and you looked well..." you trailed off blushing "basically it was amazing and i really enjoyed it!". "Really?" Bolin asked and you nodded. Bolin seized you in a hug and it made you blush he valued your opinion so much. "Im so glad you like it" he smiled putting you back down "your opinion means a lot to me" he blushed and you smiled. "Yours too Bolin" you told him "you're one of the most important people to me". Bolin's blush grew and he looked down his eyes slightly glazed. Bolin smiled and took your hand "you're pretty important to me too y/n" and kissed you softly. Bolin was always so caring and affectionate he just always made you feel loved and safe. He never pressured or rushed you, he was the best man you'd ever met. You broke away blushing and smiled at him before sighing "i should probably go". Bolin frowned "are you sure i mean it's not even that late...plus it's raining really heavily outside you could get a cold or get blown off the roof! Or lost". "Lost? My rooms practically across from yours!" you smirked but Bolin shrugged "i still don’t think you should risk it". You smirked "so what i stay here until the rain stops...that could be all night". Bolin shrugged "i just think it’d be safer it probably won’t be all night" he argued but his tone told you he hoped it would be. You smirked and nodded "fine..i guess i can stay for a bit longer and see if it stops". Bolin grinned "that's a very good decision y/n i must say". "Stop it" you pushed him before blushing as he grabbed your hand. You smiled and leant into him "i might nap while im here for a bit, if that's okay?". Bolin nodded "of course" and gathered even more blankets to keep you warm. You smiled getting into the blankets and Bolin got in beside you. With a bolt of lightning the rain came down ever harder. You noticed and Bolin pretended to look away. "i didn’t do anything!" he said when he felt you looking at him. "Mh hmmm?" You asked laying beside him but you were smiling. "Promise" Bolin smiled putting an arm around you. Bolin was so broad you fitted against him easily and curled up against his side. Bolin wrapped his large arm around you and you felt do safe and warm with the rain pounding against the window. "Goodnight y/n" Bolin smiled kissing your forehead and you smiled closing your eyes. "Goodnight Bolin".
You vaguely heard voices and groaned trying to sunk further into the warmth and Bolin. You buried your head against his chest and fell back to sleep when suddenly Bolin’s door was thrown open. "Y/n" Tenzin screetched and you and Bolin jolted awake. Bolin let out a yelp as Tenzin stared his eyes bulging. "You didn’t put bells on my windows?" you offered and your father turned even more red. "I’ll be putting bars on your window young lady if you dont stay in your assigned room!" He yelled and to your dismay others flocked to the room. "Did you find her?" Asami asked before smirking "ow...i see". "She's in here?" Mako asked "but thats Bolins room" before trailing off as Korra stumbled in too. "Well you did want Y/N to help rebuild the air nation" Korra smirked before she halted as Tenzin spun on her making the avatar gulp. "Is there something funny about my little girl growing up?" Tenzin yelled at them "no? Didn’t think so! Y/n get out of there right now and march yourself to your room this instance". You distangled yourself from Bolin and all the blankets and stood up red faced. "Sir it wasnt y/ns fault..." Bolin tried but Tenzin silenced him with a look. "You are grounded young lady and if i ever find you in his room again i'll...i'll take away your bison!". "Dad...." you groaned but he shook his head "no buts now to your room". You rolled your eyes but did as he said.
Later you sat in your room avoiding your dad's wrath when you heard someone near your window and opened your suprisingly still unlocked window to see Pabu. "Pabu?" You asked as he scampered in and dropped something on your bed. You grinned to see it was a note from Bolin with a wild flower attached "so guess you're our go between huh Pabu" You asked the fire ferret as you fed him a treat as payment. Pabu made a happy noise and you smiled before turning to Bolin’s note. "Sorry i got you in trouble but it was worth it" he wrote "think your dads gonna have us under surveillance for a while but i'm sure we can work around it. I'm game if you are and next time we wont get caught. Love Bolin". You smiled hiding your note and wrote a quick reply before handing it to Pabu who ran off to give it Bolin. You picked up the flower Pabu had also brought and smirked, you had the best boyfriend ever. Father be damned you’d find a way to see him.

Who, me? Popular?
As long as everyone is crunching numbers on the @avatar-rare-pair-ship-challenge, I was curious who got the most love. Turns out the Fire Nation is hawt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Azula was the most popular character to pair by far across both ATLA and LOK, with a full 11 fics where she was the primary pairing, or 13% of the total stories for ATLA. Her grand-nephew Iroh II squeaked in a lead for the LOK pairings at 7, but a whopping 17% of all fics in the smaller category. Well done, lightning benders. You're clearly very hot.
Tumblr media
Overall, there was a lot more concentration in the ATLA characters. Fics pairing anyone in the Fire Nation royal family with anyone else were nearly 40% of the stories. There was also a much shorter tail than we see in LOK, with only nine characters appearing in only one fic. Also, we love Sokka, because who wouldn't? But it's interesting to see the relatively low numbers for the arguable star of the show, Aang, and the comparatively high number for a rather minor character like Zhao. There were more fics featuring Lu Ten, who doesn't even appear on screen, than there were Toph or Katara. Way to dig deep, folks. (graphs do not include characters in only one fic for readability)
Tumblr media
With no Korrasami allowed, Korra and Asami were still pretty popular, carrying 15% and 12% of the fics, respectively, through other relationships. Having written four of the five fics featuring Asami, I will take some of the blame for this. But seriously, she is a super hot BAMF and deserves this no matter what the rest of y'all wanted to write. I will happily die on the hill.
Tumblr media
As with ATLA, we see a high number of fics featuring a rather obscure cast. Iroh II, badass though he may be, appears in only five episodes of the entire show and yet clearly won the day here (ok so this is also largely my fault). Bumi II was paired off four times, but his brother Tenzin didn't even make the list (neither did Kya II). Mako barely rates. Instead, we see a long tail of relatively minor LOK characters getting their due: Tarrlok, Hiroshi Sato, Viper, Suyin Beifong, and even Raava and Vaatu appear in just as many fics as Bolin. Which, if we're excited about rare pairs, is exactly what we would hope to see!
Nice job to everyone who participated.

The Transfer Part 9
*This bih is 4k+ long so to read it fully just follow them link*
“What if they don't like me? What if they think I'm annoying? What if-”
“Enough!” Lin raised her voice exasperated.
You had been pacing for the last ten minutes waiting for the ferry. You were rethinking the piercings and the short sleeve blouse. You kept your hands on your arms in an attempt to cover up. You felt too vulnerable for your liking and the anxiety started getting to you.
“Everything is going to be fine Y/N. Stop overthinking it. They are all very accepting of everyone’s differences. You won't be the reason they stop thinking this way.” She offered her knowledge. “The ferry is almost here, come down. Everything will be okay.”
You nodded, you were still nervous but not as much. The ferry arrived and both of you got on and some people started to stare at you. Lin would stare at them back until they got uncomfortable and minded their own business. You placed your hand on your lower back, the stress was making your stitches hurt, Lin saw this and placed her hand above yours.
“Is it hurting?” She asked softly.
“It happens when I get stressed, but if I apply a bit of pressure it helps.” You answer, you take your arm off but she keeps it on. You tried not to think of it too much but the warm blush was already spreading to your ears.
Soon the ferry arrives at the temple's docks and you both get out. You can see the long road ahead and sigh. You start walking alongside the earthbender until you reach a long line of stairs. You took the first step holding tightly onto Lin, a few more steps and you had to take a moment to breathe.
The chief looked at you and used her bending to make a platform under both of you. “Hold on.” She said as the platform started moving upwards. After a few minutes both of you were finally in the courtyard of the temple. A young girl with long hair and two buns made her way to you. She smiled and started asking questions rapidly.
“Are you Y/N? How old are you? Are you a firebender? Do you like animals? Can I see your tattoos? How many tattoos do you have? How many piercings do you have?”
You stood there a moment collecting the information before smiling back at her.
“Yes, 25, yes, also yes, sure, like 15? A few.”
She scanned you up and down and grabbed your arms. She started looking at them and flipping them to see the full picture.
“You're so cool and pretty!” The girl charmed as she stared.
“Ikki, leave her alone, she's tired.” Lin growled.
The girl seemed unfazed at Lin’s antics.
You chuckled “It's alright Chief. So you're Ikki? Nice to meet you, I like your buns.”
“It's my signature hairstyle.” She smirked as she touched her hair. “Come on, dinner's ready.”
You followed the girl inside where a tall man with blue arrow tattoos and a tan woman with short hair greeted you. Your eyes widened when you realized who the people in front of you were.
You bowed deeply and immediately winced. “Master Tenzin, Avatar Korra. It's an honor to be blessed with your presence.” You said formally with a smile.
“It's an honor to meet you officer Y/N, we've heard so much.” Tenzin said softly.
“Yes! But due to your back injury we would prefer you not to bow. It could hurt you more.”
You blushed and nodded. “I'm just in such awe to meet such incredible people.”
“We are very happy to meet you too.” A new feminine voice said.
You look up to see the one and only Asami Sato.
“Miss Sato!” You automatically bowed again and winced.
Asami laughed. “Let's go take a seat, I think your back would appreciate it.”
The heiress took your hand and guided you to the table where Kya, Amara and Pema were sitting. You also saw Mako and another man with green eyes sitting next to him. Lin sat on one of your sides while Asami sat on the other. There were two more kids, another girl with arrow tattoos and a boy with short black hair.
“Y/N this is Bolin, my brother.” Mako said, introducing you.
You reached over and shook his hand. “A pleasure to meet you Bolin, Your brother has told me great things about you.”
“Aww bro really?” Bolin said with teary eyes.
Mako scoffed. “You've already met Korra, Amara, Kya and Asami, so she's Pema.” He said pointing to the woman near Tenzin. “She's Tenzin’s wife and mother to Ikki, Jinora and Meelo, the kids next to her.”
“I'm happy to meet all of you.” You said smiling. The pain started once more and you tried to reach behind you but the position was awkward.
Lin leaned into you. “You need help with that?”
You blushed but nodded, her hand went to your lower back applying steady preaching. You sighed in relief. “Thank you” You could see a blush as she nodded and couldn't help but grin.
“So, Y/N…” Korra started. “Let me start by saying that I LOVE your style.”
You smiled. “Thank you Avatar Korra.”
“Just Korra is fine.” She looked at Asami. “You look really cool, I mean when we saw the pictures in the newspaper it was blurry so we didn't get to see the details.”
“But your tattoos are amazing! It makes you look even more beautiful than you already are.” Asami finished.
You were blushing profusely. “Oh thank you honestly. They are just as much part of me as my hair.”
Kya knew the two women were enjoying flustering you. So she charged in to help you ease your nerves.
“How are you finding the city so far?” The waterbender asked.
“Oh! It's been really cool!” You smiled. “I haven't been able to see a lot since I'm working a lot but there's a cafe I'm falling in love with. It's close to the precinct and they sell the best strawberry and cream biscuits I've ever tasted.” You gush.
“Oh you like sweets? You have to try Kya’s fruit tart, it's the best thing ever.” Korra responded smiling.
“Yeah! Oh and you should go to a noodle place we know, they sell the best noodles!” Bolin said to you.
“I'll definitely try it out!”
You had been in the conversation so long that you didn't even notice Lin’s hand off your back. You looked at her discreetly but she was focused on a conversation with Kya.
“Are you single?” Meelo asked boldly.
“Yup.” You said looking back at him.
“Do you like boys or girls?” Ikki asked.
“Women.” You answer carefully.
Lin looked at you and took a sip of her tea. The gesture didn't go unnoticed.
“Me too!” Bolin said smiling.
“That's nice to know Y/N, we'll have to introduce you our clubs and places.” Kya sais smiling.
“So Y/N, tell us about yourself. What's your story?” Asami asked.
“My story?” You looked at her quizzically.
“Yeah, who is Y/N? What happened that made you end up here as a police officer?” Korra asked.
“Oh well I think that story is far too long and boring.” You chuckled.
“We are listening.” Pema said softly.
You suddenly felt every eye in the room looking at you, your nerves grew and you started feeling anxious again. You looked up at Lin and she gave you a nod.
“Okay well, I'll go chronologically? So it doesn't confuse anyone so much?”
“Sure!” Korra said happily.
You smiled. “Okay here we go. My name is Y/N L/N, I was born here in Republic City but I've lived in Ba Sing Se since I was a child. I'm a firebender like both my parents.
“When I was born my mother moved us to Ba Sing Se, when I was two my father left us. I have no memories of him and can't remember his face, I just know that his departure hurt my mother greatly. My mom was a strict woman, everything had to be perfect for her including me. She would spar with me from the moment I could bend, it was something we bonded over… or I thought we did.
“She wasn't very emotional, hugs and kisses we're definitely not her language. But that didn't mean I didn't love her greatly, she and my father will always hold a place in my heart. I grew to respect my element and be thankful for my life and the things I was given. I loved making friends and taking care of animals.
“When I was seven my mother left and I was all on my own. A farmer took me for a while until a real foster family could take me in. and honestly? It was the worst. I ended running away from them and later on ended running from every single foster family I ever got. I became an orphaned runaway.”
“So you're an orphan?” Mako asked.
“Yup!” You said like it was nothing.
“We are orphans too!” Bolin said.
“Me too.” Asami said more shyly.
“I mean it's not bad, I took care of things.” You responded, taking a sip of tea.
“How did you survive on the streets so young?” Lin asked.
“I joined a local pack of kids. We were all stealing and getting into trouble. I was very slick with my hands, could take your socks without taking off your boots.”
“Literally?” Bolin asked.
“Literally, you’d be surprised.” You laughed.
Lin looked at you sternly.
“Hey, I had to stay alive somehow. Besides, it caught up to me. I would always have trouble with the law and one day Chief Lei Ba got sick of my shenanigans and arrested me after stealing cabbages-”
“Cabbages?! From all the things to steal, why cabbages?!” Mako asked in disbelief.
“It wasn't for me! I found a goat gorilla in a cage! Poor thing looked awfully skinny and someone had to feed it!”
“Okay, okay what happened next?” Kya asked intrigued.
“Well he took me in, handcuffs and everything. It was like every other time. He took me in, arrested me, wrote about my crime, scolded me and sent me off. Only this time he didn't send me off. He took me to his office, sat me down and threw a few logs onto his fireplace.”
Lin wondered if this was the part where something bad happened that made you fear fire. She was on the edge listening to you.
“He looked at me-” You continued. “And took my file that was filled with my transgressions and threw it on the fire.”
“What?!” Amara asked, amazed.
You laughed. “Let me finish! He scolded me about what I did and after that we stayed quiet. He then told me he had found a family in the Fire Nation that would adopt me and give me a new life. They were soldiers themselves but had a few kids and agreed to take me in, per the chief’s request. I guess they were friends or something. Or, he would take care of me and take me off the streets, he was going to be strict and there would be a lot of rules but those were the only options I had.”
“And you chose to stay.” Lin responded.
“Yup, I chose to stay. It was hard at first but I made it out and thrived. He took me in as his own and gave me a new life. I became his shadow and did everything to try and make him proud. I graduated school early and as soon as I grabbed the diploma I was running down to the academy’s door enlisting myself. He almost had a stroke when he found out.”
“But, I was first in my class. Worked my a- buttoff every day. Did extra, worked more, fought more, study more and at the end it was all so worth it.”
Lin could see the shine in your eyes as you talked.
“I remember the day of my graduation. When the chief gave us all our badges, I was the last one in line. The runt of the litter. He shook my hand, placed my badge and looked me in the eyes and-”
You felt your eyes water. “He said… I'm so proud of you Y/N. So very proud.” You wiped a tear that fell from your eye. “I managed not to cry until after the ceremony but when we were walking back home we hugged and I cried for hours.”
“The first day everyone already knew me, I mean, I'm the chief’s daughter so it's not like I was a stranger. But finally, finally I felt like I had a family again. The rest is history.” You smiled.
Bolin was crying like a little kid while Lin looked at you with glossy eyes.
“Wow, that's… it reminds me of my own story.” Mako said smiling. “This job means a lot to me too.”
“It's more than a job, it's who I am. Helping people, being there for the ones in need, it's… it's my calling.”
“Wait wait! What about the tattoos!?” Ikki asked expectantly.
“Oh my tattoos?” You chuckled. “I got drunk one night with the rest of the officers and we got our badge numbers tattooed. I woke up with the ink in my arm, it was just the numbers and it made it look like I was some sort of prisoner so I went back later on to add some flowers around it and that's how it started.”
You showed the old tattoo on your arm.
“What's your favorite tattoo??”
“This badgermole someone very special drew for me.” You said showing your bicep, it was a scribble drawing of a badgermole’s head.
“It looks so ugly! Badgermoles dont look like that!” Meelo said with no filter.
“Meelo!” Pema scolded.
“It looks like it's been drawn by a child.” Asami said looking at it.
“Yup, little Eliah. That kid will stay in my heart forever.”
“Ooh! What's the story?” Bolin asked, resting his head on his palms.
“He was a sick boy that wanted to be a police officer, so I convinced the Chief to make him an honorary officer. He agreed as long as I was the one taking responsibility for him. So I did, made him my little partner. We did traffic stops, tickets, arrests, chases.”
“You took a child to a chase?” Lin asked.
“I always took care of him!” You said quickly.
“He was the sweetest. I remember how happy he was being a police officer. But of course he got worse until he was on his deathbed. We would visit him every day and bring some reports to tell him how things were going that day. He asked for my favorite animal and I told him. He drew this-” You said pointing to your bicep. “And I got it tattooed. My artist even made a stencil so we could have matching tattoos. When I showed it to him he was ecstatic laughing and as vivacious as ever. It made me so happy.”
“He passed away two days later and we gave him an official police burial. With escort and everything. We laid him down with the rest of our fallen officers and we watched over his mother. He was the only family she had so it was hard for her but we stood by her. A year later she died of the same illness.”
“Wow…” Kya said with wide eyes. “That's a lot…”
“You must be proud that you allowed that child to have the life he wanted.” Tenzin spoke.
“He was our little brother.” You said, sighing.
“I'm going to get a lot of tattoos like yours!” Ikki said with a smirk. “It's going to be so cool and I'm going to look tough like you and aunt Lin!”
You smiled back at the young girl. “You can be just as tough as the Chief without tattoos. She doesn't have any and she can strike fear in anyone by just narrowing her eyes.”
The earthbender looked at you in a glare. You chuckled nervously. “See? Terrifying.”
Ikki crosses her arms. “But I want to have cool tattoos like you!”
You thought about it for a moment before smiling. “You sure you want tattoos like mine? What's wrong with the blue arrows? They are super cool!”
“No they aren't! They are so boring!”
“Hey!” Jinora said offended.
“Besides, I want many different ones instead of just one full tattoo.”
You nodded. “You know, when you reach adulthood, I know an artist that does amazing work and has been in the industry for decades.”
Ikki beamed. “Really?!”
“Absolutely-”
