hi! Do you have personal headcanon about Yuichi? (and maybe about his friends)

You have no idea how glad I am to be asked this! I have many actually:

Yuichi Usagi

Yuichi got his scar from Spot. I 100% believe they didn't get along at first and bro got a little fiesty w him and he ended up losing some of his eyebrow. It was a silly thing and Yuichi wasn't mad about it in the slightest. The scar is something fond to him now, it reminds him of how far they've come.

Speaking of Spot I like to believe he's a tokage that's passed down through generations. He was Usagi's first and he was then given to others once he passed. Again this would maybe explain why they didn't get along at first, he misses Miyamoto Usagi. I don't think he was officially given to him until he was about maybe about 7 or so.

This one's a bit darker but with how important honor is in Japan and how little Yuichi's parents are mentioned I'm thinking they broke away from the whole samurai thing. Maybe Auntie convinced them since she still brings them up once. When someone's shunned they're never brought up which is something Yuichi surprising does...and it can make sense honestly. Since he cares so much about becoming the best samurai of course he wouldn't think highly of them for running from that.

Since Yuichi grew up with comics depicting Miyamoto Usagi's life as a samurai/ronin I think he definitely got inspired by them. He got into drawing and is a pretty decent artist now because of it. You can't tell me he doesn't have oodles of drawings he's done of his ancestor. And as a kid maybe even made little comics of him and Miyamoto Usagi going on adventures together. His Auntie probably helped him bind his pages together and found it all very cute, 100% supporting everything.

The Squad

Having been grown an orphan and under ninjas I bet Chizu doesn't have much, if any, experience with any holidays. She was probably forced to train nonstop during those days. So one big memory for her is finally celebrating the new year outside with all her friends.

Kiyoko is probably Yuichi's number one sparring partner being such a power biomech. Sometimes he manages to dent her but it's treated as a win, not something to freak out over. Though Kitsune sometimes acts protective over her little sister when this happens and goes after Yuichi. Yuichi has to spend a long time assuring her everything is okay.

Kitsune spends a lot of time with Yuichi, they like to come up with crazy ideas and then execute them without really thinking things through. Usually Chizu has to dive in and get them out of trouble. She scolds them after but is easier on Kitsune, definitely not for biased reasons.

Gen cleans everyone's weapons when they're not looking, he doesn't like the idea of grime piling up on things they use often. He doesn't let them see though because he knows they'll make it harder for him from then on.

- anyways, this man loves naps way too much

- invites you over one day thinking you guys could just chill

- so how did he get into this situation?

"y/n, why are you like this?"

aomine grumbled, face tucked into your chest. he had mentioned once, only once, and now he was on his bed forced into this too-comfortable position.

"mm, you mentioned wanting to take a nap, so that's what we're doing."

"arg, yeah, but why are you the one holding me?!"

"because i can."

aomine let out a frustrated grunt, attempting to push himself up. he was soon pulled back down when you hooked an arm around his neck, making him lose his balance.

"stop whining like a baby, you're making the bed cold!"

accepting his fate, he allowed you to wrap your arms around him. despite his constant whining, both of you knew deep down he wanted this.

he's a tsundere, but he's your tsundere.

kise

- this mf would be too energetic man

- he's so talkative you'd probably have to tape his mouth shut to have a full night of sleep

- well i headcanon as someone who had to be that manly person because of his fangirls

- (yeah ik he hates them but who doesn't like praise + attention?)

- and he wants to impress you and keep you happy

- so one day after he got hit particularly hard by kasamatsu

- he came crying to you, so you did the only thing that made sense

"come here kise, why are you just standing there? didn't you say you wanted to cuddle?"

he looked at your expression for any sign of trickery, yes he did want to cuddle you but were you sure you wanted to hold him?

"like that? don't you want me to- AAAH!"

tired of his rambling, you had promptly picked him up and thrown him on the bed, flopping next to him. before he could protest, you wrapped your arms around his waist and buried your face in his neck.

"shut up already, just relax alright? i don't know whats going on in that pretty brain of yours, but you can let it go for now."

oh yeah, he's definitely getting you flowers tomorrow.

murasakibara

- dude, the least concerned about what position he's in

- he just wants snacks and sweet candy

- unfortunately, that constant snacking finally caught up to him

- when his mom texted you if you would take your big baby of a boyfriend to get some cavities removed

- 😀⁉️

- you agreed nonetheless

- waiting outside of the room was a little stressful

- very funny when he finally came out, a sleepy giant of a man just allowing you to pull him along to the car

- when you got home you made him change the cotton pads in his mouth and rinse his mouth

- unbeknownst to you, you were about to deal with THE biggest baby in the world

"but y/n-chin i want candy!"

"atsushi, no. the dentist said you could only eat solid food in 24 hours, which includes candy." you scolded, trying your hardest to push him back into your shared room. surprisingly, he was compliant when he was under anesthesia, allowing you to guide him to the large bed.

he sat on the edge while watching you with dazed eyes as you rushed around trying to get him prepared for bed.

"y/n-chin looks pretty."

that definitely threw you for a loop, choking on air as you fumbled with the clothes in your arms,

"uh, thank you you do too. now, lift your arms so i can change your clothes."

after you finished the tiring task, you flopped on the bed with a sigh ready to take a nap. you soon felt a hand grip your waist, and before you could look up murasakibara had already placed his head on your stomach and fell fast asleep.

"i did not do that."

"you totally did."

murasakibara narrowed his eyes at your form, reluctantly sipping on a smoothie you made him.

"i did not, you're making it up."

"then explain this."

you whipped out your phone, holding it up with a satisfied smirk. there on the screen was the purple-haired giant snuggled up on your midsection as you held him in your arms.

"why did you take pictures?"

"atsushi stop dodging the obvious and admit that you did do it."

"no."

"well i guess you arent getting any snacks from me-"

"im sorry."

"that's better."

Hi! :D Can I request headcanons on the upper moon demons (1,2,3+ Muzan) reactions to finding out their fem s/o is suffering from depression? (Especially after she’s tried to hide it from them and everyone else, not once admitting to having it - frankly because she feels as if they wouldn’t care or take her seriously anyway (due to past experiences with her own family and friends), until she couldn’t keep up the facade of acting cheerful, laid back and positive all the time, it being obvious that there is something quite not right with her, even if she denies it, trying to downplay the situation, knowing full well herself that it’s getting bad).

Muzan isn’t an idiot.

He can sense from a mile away that something is in fact wrong.

I mean, you always seem off.

He just cannot tell WHAT exactly is wrong.

You’re a strange one after all. (Not in a bad way obviously)

Muzan has asked you a dozen times prior, seeking out answers, at least an explanation for your change in behavior and emotions.

He dislikes change.

But wanna know what he dislikes more? You being upset.

“My dear, could you please tell me what’s wrong?”

Of course he never gets anything out of you. You just cast him that alluring yet suspicious fake smile of yours and reassure him that you’re “okay” or “fine” or even “couldn’t be better”

Your response are so.. dishonest.

Honestly, Muzan not knowing what exactly is wrong with you drives him wild. He ALWAYS wants to know what’s wrong, what you’re feeling, how you’re feeling, etc.

And whenever he isn’t aware of what exactly your feeling or is catching on to the suspicions that your lying it does in fact anger him.

Not only does it anger him but it upsets him incredibly. Like, do you not trust him? Are you scared of him because he’s the demon king? If you were secretly terrified of his existence he wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest. That’s how truly humans are after all.

But for you this isn’t the case. You aren’t even scared of him. Just scared of your own thoughts and feelings.

A part of you wishes you could open up but the other part of you is like: eh, fuck it.

Who could blame you for not wanting to open up to the demon king himself though?

You may be his girlfriend, but still, like he would actually bring himself to care.

You see how vicious he is towards other humans. So why would he even bother with your silly yet powerful emotions?

You desired to open up yourself but however that never came so Muzan had no choice but to force it out of you one day.

Toxic, sure. But you were driving him nuts!

Like he snapped when he came home one night to find you rotting in your own filth, an empty stomach, disheveled hair, god, have you been sleeping all day?

He will ask you ONCE again if you wanted to talk.

To which you respond with a sorrowful “no”

Then you for real have the gull to make up excuses saying you’ve fallen ill.

Yeah, right.

That is Muzan’s breaking point.

It startles you when he snaps at you and actually gets mad.

This is his way of caring everybody. 💀

Whenever you’re depressed the feeling of getting yelled at by someone you love can hurt you or make you feel numb on the inside, you know?

I’m this case, it all just caves in and you sorta have an emotional break down in front of him.

Muzan is at a loss for words as you spill out your deepest and darkest feelings.

At least you’re finally opening up.

But damn, bro is shocked. Please give him a minute to adjust to all this.

At first he doesn’t know how to respond, instead, he will respond physically and just let you cry in his embrace as you vent to him and babble “i’m sorry” literally over 1000 times.

Muzan knew humans had depression, he reads a lot and is well aware of what it is. He’s just distraught this his own partner felt this way for so long.

By the way, did i mention he’s going to kill anyone who’s ever wronged you?

But worry not! He is going to be there for you every step of the way even with his low tolerance:)

Kokushibo

In the beginning, Kokushibo has absolutely no clue what’s going on inside your head.

I mean, if you say you’re fine then you’re fine right?

That’s all until your seemingly bad mood increases more and more everyday.

Yeah, that’s when his suspicions SKYROCKET.

Kokushibo has asked you before but gave up on it after many failed attempts.

He still has his mild concerns though so instead he observes you from afar.

He can tell something if off but assumes that just because you’re a human.

Honestly, he had some suspicions here and there that you may or may not be dealing with severe depression.

Guess what? Those thoughts he had were correct.

You immediately assume he doesn’t care and won’t care due to his demonic nature and his expressionless behavior.

Kokushibo began to catch on more and more when you started to refuse to eat dinner, you just refused to get up from bed and even take care of yourself.

FINALLY drops that stoic personality.

Caretaker Kokushibo to the rescue. Is immediately scooping you up, siting you at the table and convincing you to eat.

If you don’t eat he’ll just spoon feed you.

That night he took care of you.

That’s when he found out of your depressed state. No confession needed.

The two of you aren’t the greatest match because of your lacked communication.

No, you two aren’t toxic. Fights don’t even exist between y’all.

You guys just can’t express feelings properly.

But Kokushibo is always waiting for you to further explain how you feel. He’s satisfied that he now is aware of what’s wrong with you but also deeply destroyed on the inside.

You don’t deserve these harsh feelings. Why must the world be so cruel?

From that day onwards, Koku keeps a close eye on you and takes care of you more often.

Sometimes even ditches missions for you.

Yeah, he gets chastised by Muzan for it but he doesn’t care.

As long as you’re safe then he feels content.

By the way he’s killing off ANYONE who made you feel this way.

Douma

very, VERY dense.

Like does not notice anything.

He just presumed that’s how you are.

Now, Douma does feel emotions around you. You’re the only thing that has ever brought him joy.

You make that cold heart of his beat.

He’s very clingy around you, like, SUPER.

Wants to be around you all the time.

Which is why it’s a shocker that he didn’t notice immediately your drastic change in behavior.

Douma only really took notice when you began to distance yourself from everyone.

Even him.

Now he couldn’t care less if you ran away from everyone else but him? Yeah, there is something wrong.

So, he simply asks you if you’re okay.

In which you lie and say you’re doing just fine.

Oh, you are? Okay!!

Is immensely confused when you continue to distance yourself though.

Haha, humans are so silly.

Douma becomes really confused but brushes it off.

It’s all surprising that he can come off so dense when it comes to this. I mean, you’re a demon? come on mannn…

Yeah, he does feel emotions around you but doesn’t fully understand them, you know?

I swear, Douma can be naive around you sometimes despite being the sadistic and masochistic demon he is.

It takes him a long ass time to realize how much you’ve been suffering.

Please do not get angry with him though. Remember that he is new to all this!

So the first emotion he feels once he finds out about your depression is EXTREME guilt.

REAL GUILT.

Flabbergasted by how fucking long it took him to find out the truth.

*Mentally facepalms himself*

His petty little followers don’t count. The man may have spend his last few hundred years listening to peoples woes and worries but his emotional responses towards their feelings were never even genuine.

To be brutally honest, Douma is hopeless.

Yeah, he wants to help you, he really does.

Just has no idea how to:(

However, if you show him how to then he will catch on fairly quickly and become the master when it comes to taking care of you and helping you cope with your depression.

Similar to Kokushibo, Cue caretaker Douma to the rescue‼️‼️

He doesn’t mind taking care of you. Honestly he absolutely adores it.

You’ve always been there for him, you taught him how to feel again. He’s so grateful that he’s finally helping you after all this time.

Lends you extra cuddles and kisses but if you’re the type to want your space when you’re depressed he’ll try his hardest to understand and be there for you emotionally instead! He just wants to be over you all the time and make sure you’re doing well, ya know?

Okay, he may lose his touching privileges but don’t think he isn’t gonna let his guard down!

From there on out, He keeps an eye on you at all times. He needs to make sure your taking care of yourself!

Douma also developed the tendency to whisper sweet nothings into your ear, his advice is surprisingly effective by the way. I mean, his advice towards you is actually genuine so that must be why.

“Oh, Y/N, my lovely lotus, i despise how you carry such a heavy burden. I wish i could take all these negative feelings away from you!”

Akaza

Like Muzan, he isn’t easy to take for a fool.

Notices the very second your behavior changes.

Akaza, being the most amazing boyfriend he is will obviously attempt to strike up a conversation, desperately wanting you to open up and communicate with him properly.

Becomes disappointed when you just brush it off as “not important”

Like what? It IS important!

YOU are MORE than important to him.

Akaza is not blind, he won’t submit nor play dumb towards your responses

Absolutely hates making you uncomfortable and would hate to force you to tell him how you’re feeling but desperate times call for desperate measures.

This is just his way for caring about you.

At first, he will try each and every day to be there for you and try and talk with you.

Sits on the side of your bed as your laying down, curled up, unmoving and will just kiss your forehead and give you time to open up.

Akaza will bug you consistently, fishing a response from you, anything, just anything!!

“Sweetheart, could you tell me what’s going on with you?”

Nothing. Just that same old response he hears every damn time.

“I’m fine”, “Nothing is wrong!”, “It’s okay, i’m doing well, just tired.”

Hatessssss when you lie to him:(

Akaza feels beyond powerless.

Your feelings are very important to him!

Sure, he hates weak people, hates any other human being he encounters but you’re different!

Akaza knows deep down you’re suffering from depression but desires for you to confess it yourself in your own time.

But at the end of the day he had to force it out of you.

Felt insanely guilt but what else could he have done?

Everything else he’s ever done for you got him nowhere due to your own stubborn dds

Akaza is not mad though.

He could never be angry with you for having depression i mean, you can’t help it.

We all know how overwhelmingly overprotective he is so the very moment he finds out a friend of family member caused you to feel this way and shut the world out he is going to throw hands.

Like, how dare they?!

Akaza is another caretaker! Skips important missions for your sake despite him knowing the punishments that come along with it.

Akaza won’t mind taking care of you but he also needs you to learn how to take care of yourself if you want to truly heal so he’ll be there for you every single step of the way in order for you to accomplish that!

Another thing that’ll happen is that Akaza will become more needy and clingy than usual. He must protest his precious girlfriend at all costs.

Kisses you and reminds you how much he loves you.

Fucking HATES it when he’s forced to leave you (when he’s summoned to the infinity castle)

But the very second he’s home he’s relieved.

On those days you’re feeling super depressed to the point where you can’t get up Akaza will cool you breakfast and serve it to you in bed. Will even feed you if he has to then eventually he’ll help you get up and offer you all the motivation and energy you need to make it throughout the day.

Bro is a gentleman.

Literally is always going to be there for you, love you unconditionally.

And most importantly…

Beat the living HELL out of whoever worsened your depression‼️‼️

Ik he’s got so little screen time and a lil silly but I’ll shoot my shot for some headcanons: Saint Peter x reader where maybe reader is a big flirt and keeps flirting with him, but he doesn’t confess or make any move to get passed the “acquaintance” stage (they’re not even sure if they’re friends since it’s so one sided) because he lowkey thinks she’s just flirting for the sake of flirting and has no real interest in him. Maybe a sprinkle ✨ of angst where Reader leaves him alone for good, finally giving up but then Peter approaches her for a date or something idk

He asks why you stopped spending time with him and you just explain that you thought he wasn’t interested in you at all, even as friends

He feels bad because non-mortal angels don’t get feelings like these so he doesn’t know how to handle them

He eventually does offer you a date because he’d like to give you a chance even if he doesn’t know where his feelings are for you

Though don’t stop your usual routine of at least saying hi to him. He will be sad.

hi anon!! thank you for sending this request in, my apologies for my tardiness ╥﹏╥ writer's block is really hitting me, but i hope you enjoy these headcanons for ikey ♡

you knew that your period was coming so you prepared in advance — putting on a pad/tampon before heading to bed.

the next morning, you were woken up by the familiar yet annoying feeling of your period cramps in your lower abdomen.

yep, it's here. right on time. and it hurts just as much as the last time if not more.

you sigh inwardly and turn to look at your boyfriend sleeping peacefully beside you. you were immobilised from the pain and you didn't want to wake him up, so you had no choice but to just stare at the ceiling, wishing that the pain would magically go away.

after what seemed like an hour, you hear ike start to rouse. he does a little stretch and his eyes slowly flutter open.

"good morning my love."

"good morning ikey." you muster a smile, trying not to let your face twist in pain from the intense cramps.

ike sees through your facade and moves closer to rub your back.

"it's that time of the month again huh?" ike's eyes are full of concern as he looks at you.

"yeah...i can't really move because it hurts so much." you respond with a strained voice, your face twisting in pain.

ike would know when your period is coming because he would note it down on his calendar in his phone

beforehand, he would prepare a bag full of things that you would need, like pads, tampons, snacks and a hot water bottle

he would then bring in that bag and set it on the bed, he calls it "the y/n care package"

if you wanted to go change your pad/tampon, he'd princess carry you to the bathroom and carry you back to the bed

seeing you in so much pain makes him feel sad

"i'm so sorry that you have to go through this every month. i wish you didn't have to."

he would then run off to go put hot water in the hot water bottle for you and also bring some painkillers if you wanted to take them

if you wanted any other snack or had any cravings for a particular food, he'd run to the store to go get it

you'd feel bad that he's spending all this time taking care of you when you know how much work he has waiting for him

but he always assures you that he would take care of you first, make sure you're okay before going off to do his work

if he really needed to get work done, he'd bring his laptop into the bedroom to work on the side while one of his hands is rubbing your back/lower abdomen

if you hadn't prepared beforehand and stained the bed ...

he would assure you that he's not bothered by it at all

"sweetheart, every person that has a uterus goes through this every month, it's normal. don't worry okay? i'm not grossed out by it at all."

he'd then run you a hot bath and princess carry you to the bathroom

while you're in the bath, he'd go put the sheets in the washing machine and put on some new ones

he'd then get some painkillers and place them on the bathroom counter if you wanted to take it

after you're done with your bath, he'd carry you back to bed and ask if you need him to go get anything from the store

after you give him a list of things to get, he'd run off to the store to grab everything

when he's back he'd lay everything out on the bed, putting some on the bedside table as well

then he'd grab his laptop and hop back into bed to cuddle you

"i'm so sorry my love, i hope you don't mind me doing some work on the side, i just have a lot i need to get done."

if he notices that you're getting sleepy, he'd read you a poem or sing to you till you fall asleep

he'd then kiss your forehead and continue doing his work, making sure to always be by your side

I used to spend so long just going through that tag, cause I love your art so much. It rly sucks that Tumblr is so hellbent on censoring everything to the point of just trashing a decade or more of someone's hard work :(

sadly at the moment no, tumblr was the only place where the great majority of my Homestuck art was (along with some One Piece art and a good chunk of my early bnha art) and even though I don't think much about Homestuck and Piratestuck these days, I wanted to share these art back then and the sentiment is still true today, I really want all my old arts to still be accessible for everyone to find, even if looking at them today myself might make me cringe due to it being old and seeing all the flaws in them lmao

I know I won't reupload them on tumblr (wouldn't be able to post the sexy here anyway and I refuse to skip it), or twitter or wherever, one by one like they were posted in the past, because we're talking about hundreds, possibly close to a thousand pieces of art and doodles

what I intend to do is to sort them into a few .PDFs (by fandom? by year?) and make those available for download

it's just that. the task right now is a bit daunting, that's a lot of art to sort through! and I would also like to write some level of commentary, you know like captions to give some context, maybe some of the lore and headcanons for Piratestuck, that kinda thing! but yeah, lot of work that I'm currently a bit afraid to start on so that might be a while...

sometimes he’ll come home bruised and battered from his missions and if you, unlike me, don’t have whatever the hell blood phobia is called, he’ll gladly let you patch him up then ruffle his fluffy hair. his face will light up with a bright blush when you ruffle his hair like that and kiss him on the cheek.

he really REALLY loves sleeping in the same bed as you, his head listening to the ever so gentle ba-dump of your heart’s beat. his kisses are light and soft, especially in the mornings.

alban absolutely ADORES snuggling with you during some of his streams. he’ll have his facecam on (again, weird au where the model is what the actual person looks like) and be laying on the couch during games like mario party, you laying with him and usually napping. when you add your commentary, his chat goes absolutely WILD with comments on how cute of a couple the two of you are.

synopsis: watching horror movies with eddie but he’s so scared!

word count: 379 (short but sweet)

you were in the middle of watching a horror ghost movie with eddie, him sitting close to you for comfort. they weren’t eddie’s favourite movies, but you wanted to get into the halloween spirit by watching some horror movies.

the tv screen shined onto you two, the lights out to add to the atmosphere. you watched as eddie’s body become visibly tense, waiting for something to pop up on the screen. in a matter of seconds, sure enough a figure appeared with a shrill scream. he let out a quiet scream, bringing his knees up on the couch sitting cross legged. you placed your hand on his knee in an attempt to comfort him.

eddie’s body jumped as the second jump scare popped up on the screen.

“you okay, eds?” you looked over to see the scared man curled up next to you, arms holding his knees. you frowned, lightly placing a hand on his crouched upper back. “it’s okay hun, it’s just a movie. did you wanna change it to something else?”

“y-yeah, if you don’t mind.” he stuttered as his clutched onto your arm. you pulled him in for a hug, squeezing him tight. you continued to rub small circles on his back to ease his nerves. you laid back on the couch, bringing him with you so he could rest on your chest.

“if i would’ve known these aren’t your favourite, we wouldn’t have had to watch it!” you frowned, pressing a kiss on his head.

“i know, but i know you wanted to watch some scary movies so i thought i would be brave for you.”

“how about you pick something, eddie? whatever you want to watch!” he smiled, nodding into your chest. the tv quickly flipped to some random documentary he was interested in, he let out a sigh. with his arms wrapped around your body, he nuzzled his face into your chest, finding comfort in your body heat and embrace.

you ran your fingers through his hair while he browsed through movies, settling on a documentary. “ooh, is this the one you’ve been wanting to watch, honey?” you asked, the movie poster triggered a memory of eddie going on about this documentary he was waiting to come out.

he nodded, smiling against your chest as he played the documentary. you held him close as his arms wrapped around your upper torso, whispering in his ear, “hopefully this isn’t too scary for you ed.” he chuckled at your teasing words, shaking his head. “i think i’ll be okay.”

the title card popped on the screen with dramatic music, giving eddie another spook. you chuckled and grabbed his shoulders, “boo!” you whispered.

“(y/n), please.” he plead and looked up at you with puppy dog eyes.

“i’m sorry baby, i love you.”

“i love you too.”

ok so I took a peek into TSATS and I see what u all mean when u say its out of character 😭 like, a lot of the narrative IS relative to various characters and such, like Nico's trauma, overcoming it, other things I haven't read yet, but the way it's written, and the way the characters go about portraying it... it doesn't even feel like Rick picked up a pen and wrote it. like, obviously he did, but you just can just tell the co-author really took the lead on this one.

Nico thought Mr D looked like he was about to explode from excitement, and it was honestly a complete delight.

since when the fuck does this man smile 🤨 like yes, obviously he's a fully sentient being with emotions and shit. ik he feels happiness, he just expresses it differently, and this just seems so... forced? it's less the grumpy-lovable but still an asshole Mr D we all know and kinda love, but more-so a diluted version of him? like someone comparing a stick figure to a Van Gogh piece. it just don't work 😭

‘My two favourite demigods have returned,’ he said, and he held his arms open and embraced both of them at the same time.

this man hugs??? like, his kids and wife / lovers, sure. but he's like the most demigodphobic person ever 😭 he'd be the person to let the other hug him, pat him on the bag, scowl and say "yeah-yeah" and then shove them off. like??? (at least in my brain he is)

‘Favourite?’ Will said into Mr D’s armpit. ‘I thought you didn’t even like demigods.’ (SAME 🥴)

and then he goes on to say "fuck all u, but like, u 2 least of all" so that's pretty in character for the most part, but still

like this book don't look bad by any means, it just feels... offshade. off white to white? 1st cousins. expectation v reality. a Van Gogh baby vs an actual baby (google them, they're horrifying)

but yeah, no hate to the book, it just doesn't feel like Rick even touched it, yk? and I haven't even read a single chapter. that was me skimming to see what the fuss was about 😭 and what's up with some of the books using these quotes '' instead of ""??? it's so hard to read.

and i 100% agree, after reading tcotg i’m convinced rick riordan didn’t- touch tsats with a ten foot pole.

i was very willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and say the book was a team effort when it came out but there’s simply no way that’s the case. my man lied. the writing style is so different and the interpersonal relationships between characters feel so off😭

don’t get me started about the humor because tcotg had its flaws but it was literally laugh-out-loud funny in some moments. had the difference been written on purpose- like, the authors wanting to characterise Nico and Will as kinda lame people- that could have been an interesting choice (i maintain my headcanon that Nico is only ever unintentionally funny), but i really doubt it was.

and why would Mr D hug and smile and coddle Nico and Will like… it’s giving self indulgent fanfiction where everyone adores the author’s favourite character. which, i mean, if you’ve ever read my Apollo fics you know that I get it, but a published book should be held to a higher standard imo!!!

tsats did not have to be a masterpiece but it was too OOC for me to enjoy.

still, i’d advise you to read it for yourself and find out!
