Broccoli on pizza is amazing!
I know. It probably sounds awful. But I swear it's delicious!
Tumblr media
I had picked up a slice of pizza from Whole Foods last month and it was a chicken and broccoli alfredo pizza. I figured I'd give it a try.
Sooooooooo good! Granted, I love roasted broccoli, which is what it tastes like.
A few weeks ago, we had picked up a cheese pizza for dinner Friday night. I had black olives and broccoli for other reasons and decided to go ahead and put them on my half of the pizza. Hubby's half got covered in pepperoni. Ever the carnivore.
Tumblr media
It's fresh broccoli on the pizza. I'm sure frozen works too, but it would definitely be a different experience. Last night we did the same thing for dinner. I went out earlier to get some broccoli and mushrooms specifically so I could put them, along with black olives, on my half. Still delicious!

T-shirt
This is inspired by a real conversation me and my girlfriend had. First person POV.
It had been a long three hours. Dance class all day tends to lead to three things; a ravenous appetite, being drenched in sweat and being weirdly horny. Luckily unlike most days my girlfriend was waiting for me when I got home. One week of a parent-free house too. As I stretched and massaged my rubber legs I thought about how I’d be twice as exhausted once the day was over- but plenty energised for antics. I suddenly came up with a bright idea. I whipped out my phone to text her immediately;
“Hey babe. My shirt probably already stinks. If I make it worse on purpose would you wear it tonight?😈”
“Oh my God yes I would love to. Mark me with your scent. I want to be second grossest person in the supermarket tonight.🥰”
Perfect. Four more hours of dance. Now the shirt is sticking to skin all over. But the sweating time wasn’t over. I head to the student gym and hit arm day a little hard than usual. Arousal is the best motivator. Then I have a little pre-dinner at a coffee shop; broccoli Mac and cheese, an americano and a slice of chocolate cake. I love any excuse to eat but this time I’m on a mission. Make myself fart.
Once I’m off the bus I walk home in a cloud of joy. I’m a simple, slobby dude; I like food, sex, being gross and gross people. As I get to the door I grin wildly. My sweet girlfriend answers the door. As per usual she looks stunning. I kiss her on the cheek and say; “ it’s been a long day but I’m willing to make it twice as long for you.”She frets over me and compliments me, as I babble on about all the dumb shit I thought about to pass the time. Mid sentence a small burp falls out of her lips. It sounds so normal these days. I can’t help but shower her with compliments though. Especially with the snack packages I can see on the table. My plan needs to be executed though. I excuse myself to upstairs.
Perfect. I can hear my stomach gurgle. I always have a fart brewing but these will reek. I pull my sweaty t-shirt off, screw it up and shove it in my trousers. Then I push down with my hands clasped on my belly. Sure enough I release four massive farts in a row. Deep, bubbly and long directly into the already smelly shirt. I put on a shirt from my “worn once but not too bad” pile then go downstairs to see her stratching her ear while watching TV. Cutie. I say “hey babe you know what I said earlier about my shirt. Well I’ve stunk out this one for you. I hope you enjoy it.” She buries her nose in and stim-whistles a couple of times then puts on the shirt. “Thank you . This feels so cozy.”
“You look cute babe. Walk to the supermarket , wander around to get dinner, get the bus back then eat and fool around with a space documentary on?” “Could we get the bus both ways? I don’t like crossing the big main road.” “Okay country bumpkin we can avoid the horse machines.” “Says the city boy who gets excited every time he sees a cow”
We stand at the bus stop with my arm around her waist and her arm around my shoulders. I am definitely smirking. Sometimes I cannot control the smirk. She looks at me and blushes. Every time she blushes my heart lights up. As we get on the bus a couple of people turn to look. I pull her to the back and we lean on each other as we sit down. No traffic today so it’s only 12 minutes to the bus station. Before I know it we’re picking out discounted fancy pizzas while she talks about peaky blinders. “Can we get some garlic bread as well? And some sour candy?” “It’s your money” “I know but it has to feed us for four more days” “Can we get hummus” “Of course” she gives me a look. I know what that means. That look means I should apply my empathy to myself.
When we get to the frozen aisle an older man is looking at the frozen vegetables. He stares us down, looking for something to comment on. Then his nostrils flare. As I open the door the freezer with the Ben and Jerry’s he spits out “you gen zeds never bathe. Both of you smell awful. It’s anti social. Get your acts together” at my sweet girlfriend. She starts giggling and I start laughing as well. He picks up his bags and walks away. I keep laughing as I pull her in by the waist. “You smell terrible” I kiss her on the mouth. My stomach burbles and feel a bubble shoot up my throat. I turn my head and let out a medium sized burp. I pull back in give her a huge hug. I can feel that she’s nervous but happy I’m happy.
We both go straight to the kitchen when we get home. I open a bag of rainbow belts and place our pizza and garlic bread in oven while she gets a couple of paper plates out of the packet for us. Then she opens her hummus and starts slicing vegetables. I let out another fart as I retrieve the garlic bread and joke “I need to be re-inflated”. I place cheese on and put it back in the oven then hug her from behind and tie her/my shirt so her belly can be seen. I then kiss her on the forehead and start doing a silly dance to pass the time. When we dish up I’m more generous for myself than usual. Then we set ourselves up in the living and I turn on the TV. Then I ask “can I put my hand down your pants while we eat” “yes but let me get comfy” “ok” she pushes her self into the couch corner then places her food in the gap between her legs. I then fumble with her button and zip and push my hand into underwear and pick up a slice of garlic bread. She’s already hard. I look at her quizzically “you were really confident with that old man and I really like wearing your shirt”. We watch the screen as we eat and I touch various parts of her body.
As a supernova fills the screen I polish off my plate and tap her shoulder. She nods then pulls down her jeans and panties. I sit on her lap and put one hand on her clit and the fingers of the other hand in her mouth. Then I get into a rhythm. Mouth-clit-mouth-clit. She makes such fun faces. Eventually I feel a push and release and she moans directly in my ear. I move my two hands towards her belly. It looks cute, round and gassy. I rub gently below her belly button and she lets out her own loud fart. I kiss her face all over and exclaim “such a good gross girl! I love you!” She’s so cute. I collapse into her and we fall asleep on the couch. She’s mine. She smells like me.

My first sea creature love, the giant pacific octopus!! First learned about her for a school project where we had to write a paper on an animal and I chose her and she's the reason I fell in love with the underwater world <33 She's smart and independent and so so pretty, look at the colour!!!
Tumblr media
Marine iguanas of the Galapagos Islands!! Do they count as sea creatures? I'm gonna say yes, look at her!!! She's so ethereal the way she swims in the water. They're not really social creatures but when they're on land, they hang out together on rocks under the sun <33
Tumblr media
Also from the Galapagos Islands, this is the whale shark!! I mean, they're kinda everywhere but this one specifically from the Galapagos lol. FUN FACT. Their spots are unique to each individual shark and can be used to identify them which is so cool to me! Also look how big they are!!! Fucking love giant marine creatures <33
Tumblr media
This is the pacific angel shark <33 apparently I really love pacific creatures lol. She waits for prey and then ambush attacks them and she's so cool for it <33 And lives near rocky reefs and my favourite, kelp forests!!

33. Baking therapy on a budget Ft. Genshin Characters - Bennet: Hot Pockets
Tumblr media
Hello, every birdie. Today we are going to be making some Homemade Hot pockets inspired by the best boy in Genshin Impact. Mr. Bennet.
Tumblr media
Bennet is a young adventurer from Mondsandt, who doesn’t have much luck surrounding him. Luck is just not on his side. He even says to himself that he is the unlucky person in Mondandt. Even with saying this though, he is probably one of the most powerful pyro characters in the game.
Tumblr media
When you look at his favorite food, he says that his favorite food is meat. Nothing more and nothing less. Just meat! I mean, yes. There are times when meat is the only answer.
Tumblr media
So today we are going to be making some Homemade Hot pockets.
Tumblr media
You can literally change the insides to be whatever you want. I used:
Chicken
Broccoli
Onions
Bell peppers
Pasta sauce
Mozzarella cheese
And for the crust, I followed the Betty Crocker pizza crust recipe.
Tumblr media
The first thing I did was cook up the chicken. And after it was cool I shredded it and added it to a big bowl where I put the other fixings as well. I chopped up the vegetables really finely.
Tumblr media
Once I got the fixings together I started on the pizza crust. The recipe will be in the description down below.
Tumblr media
You will need:
All-purpose flour
Sugar
Salt
Yeast
Oil
Warm water
Tumblr media
You are going to mix together your flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add your oil and warm water.
Tumblr media
The recipe says to beat with an electric mixer. But this step can be done by hand. You want to scrap the bowl down frequently.
Tumblr media
Stir in enough flour until the dough is soft and is able to leave the side of the bowl.
Tumblr media
Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead it for 5 to 8 minutes or until the dough is smooth and springy.
Tumblr media
Loosely cover the dough, and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
Tumblr media
Preheat your oven to 425F.
Tumblr media
For the homemade hot pockets. Once the 30 minutes have passed, you are going to start rolling out the dough. Unless you measure it out before, you aren’t going to get identical hot pockets.
Tumblr media
You want to pinch off a fist-sized amount. And yes I understand that it is going to change from person to person. But that is the only way I know how to say it.
Tumblr media
The next thing you want to do is roll it out, thinly but not as thin as a pie. Somewhere between a sugar cookie and a pie crust.
Tumblr media
Once you have it rolled out you are going to grab a spoon and put the filling mixture in it.
Tumblr media
To fold you are going to fold like you were folding a dumpling. Grab the ends and fold them in a circle.
Tumblr media
Bake them at 425F for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. And enjoy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These were so good, and such an interesting thing to have for breakfast. Even though I am not really one to talk about having weird things for breakfast. I have never been one to have the same thing every day for breakfast. What are some things that you all have for breakfast?
Tumblr media
I hope that you liked this recipe. Feel free to check it out. See you in the next recipe. Thank you.

Via Rusty Foster at Today in Tabs.
Foster notes: "Yes this is funny, but Saltz wrote a long story for Vulture at the beginning of the pandemic that’s nominally about his relationship with food, but is actually a pocket memoir and autobiography. I missed it when it first came out, and it adds a lot of depth to both his career as an art critic and his otherwise baffling eating habits."
Here's the Vulture article, which turns out to be both funny and moving. It starts with Saltz's weird eating habits and goes on to talk about his childhood and young adulthood, which were very hard.
In normal times, every few nights I buy six large black deli coffees; three caffeinated and three decafs. I put them in the fridge. Each morning, I combine the two into a 7-Eleven Double Gulp cup, add ice, Lactaid, and stevia. I drink two a day, which I tell myself equals one big cup of coffee. We bought a dozen 7-Eleven cups and tops in 2017; we wash and reuse them; ditto four metal straws. Foodies and the art world are aghast when I post myself drinking these. I grew up in an art world where everyone drank this kind of coffee, but the world has changed, and I get it.
Neither of us really cooks. Roberta can but doesn’t; I can’t but do, in a manner of speaking. We rarely go out to eat. It takes too much time. We can’t plan it with two regular deadlines in the same house — two critics living on the manic edge while trying to write, daily battling the demons that tell every writer “You’re through; quit.” Honestly, being in public at all in those flaky states always seems hair-raising to me. We do go out for pizza slices on weekends, after galleries have closed and the openings are over and people are off to big dinners and after-parties. I haven’t gone to more than five sit-down art-world dinners in ten years. Instead, over slices on paper plates, we go over lists of things we’ve seen, what we missed, gossiping about which dealers wouldn’t leave us to look in peace (hi, Gavin, you know we adore you!) and scraping over each other’s wrong ideas about shows.
We don’t do takeout either. It just seems like an invitation to overeat, which is something I worry about constantly. I haven’t had a pancake, waffle, or piece of French toast in decades — afraid I’d instantly become addicted the same way I know if I took one puff of a cigarette, I’d start smoking again. I did this once in 1986, a month after Roberta and I met. I wanted to show her how cool I looked with a butt in my mouth. I took a drag, and as the smoke filled my lungs, I still remember thinking, I am going to dedicate the rest of my life to smoking. And so I did, for 18 months from that day, before going cold turkey. Do I sound like someone with food or possible substance-abuse issues? I do. But I’ve white-knuckled it this far.
Anyone who has ever heard about how we eat and drink thinks we are insane.
Usually, about once a week at a nearby place called Agata & Valentina, I buy two large boxes of something called chicken paillard — which, now that I think about it, I’m not sure what that actually is. Premade pieces of non-breaded skinless chicken with a teriyaki-ish sauce. The chicken is stored in the fridge in Tupperware containers. We microwave one for lunch, one for dinner. Ditto bags of greens. I boil potatoes and steam Brussels sprouts or broccoli. For breakfast, it’s scrambled eggs and toast. I cook these. Other than snacks, fruit, sugar, carbo binges, and eating while going to galleries and museums, that’s it. I am a hunter-gatherer-microwaver providing for my wife, who is my eyes and mind. We got these lives and learned how to make them talk. We adapt to our environment with our shortcomings and survive.
At least, that’s how I see it. But I know that with food, as with everything else, I have acquired only partial self-knowledge. At different times, I think of myself as a glutton and an ascetic. I can see myself as a person of endless appetites and curiosity, who can imagine going everywhere and seeing everything and eating anything. But I can also straight-facedly say I have no interest in food or any kind of social life other than a monkish one. Barack Obama has talked about narrowing down his clothing — suits of one or two colors — so he didn’t have to think about anything when getting dressed. I get that — doing everything you can to open up time and space in your life for the things you really love. (Bernie Madoff, actually, got dressed the same way.) For me, that thing is looking at art and writing about it. Everything else feels like a wind blowing dead leaves away.
I feel a great affinity to Saltz Like him, I eat simple foods, from a limited set of choices every day. Most days, I have the same thing for breakfast, and same thing for lunch, with a limited number of choices for dinner. I have the same thing every night for a bedtime snack, too. I can't do, or choose not to do, a lot of the things that normal people do. I'm not as comfortable with my choices as Lewis seems to be—but I'm getting there, and this article has actually been a big help.
I can make coffee. I'm actually very good at that.

People have been nagging me to share “the curry story” on here for ages, so alright, I’ll do it. (If you’re Indian and reading this, I am so sorry).
I swear to god, everything I am about to say in this story is true.
When I was eleven, I moved to a small town in rural England and acquired a new best friend at school. Her at that point seemingly-very-normal-parents- nice suburban house, three kids, trampoline in the backyard- invited me over for dinner, and said they were making curry and rhubarb crumble.
“Curry and rhubarb crumble”. Never in the history of mankind have words been so untrue.
The “curry” consisted of, I swear I am not making this up, a vague mixture of * deep breath, oatmeal, tofu sausages, corn, tomato juice, chopped onions, raisins, “leftover broccoli leaves”, kale, and scrambled eggs. The only spice in it was the tiniest smidgen of turmeric. All these ingredients were vaguely stirred together, undercooked, and stuck under a broiler for ten minutes.
They gave me a massive portion. I somehow, I still don’t know how, was polite enough to finish it.
“I’m done,” I said.
“No,” said her father. “In this house, we LICK our plates clean.”
He did. They didn’t make me hold it up and lick it like they all did, but they did make me clean the plate with a piece of bread and my fork until they were satisfied.
Desert came. The rhubarb crumble was entirely unsweetened. Not so much as a raisin. I can’t remember what the crumble part was, because my mind is still haunted by the memory of being forced to eat an entire bowl of unsweetened rhubarb. You know in old Looney Tunes when characters would be tricked into eating allum and their heads would shrink? That’s what eating it felt like. They made me clean my bowl of that too, and wouldn’t let me leave the table until I finished.
The next time, (I was in middle school and as yet too polite to turn down my best friend’s parents) they made “spaghetti and meatballs and salad”. The spaghetti was utterly plain and so undercooked it was crunchy, the “meatballs” consisted of a single large orb of some grey material i have yet to identify, and the salad was, i shit you not, limp boiled lettuce. Crunchy spaghetti, unidentified lumpy grey stuff, and boiled lettuce.
The fascinating thing is that, while yes, these people were obviously health nuts, it was so much more than that. They were health nuts who also cooked like aliens who had never seen human food before. Or like small children making “potions”. One of the more edible things they served to me once was a dessert they made up which consisted of halved apples rolled in cornflour with some milk poured on top. One time, they were convinced to make pizza as a treat. They decided to put an onion on it. Fair and fine, you’d think. Not in that house. They just cut the onion in half once, and stuck each unchopped half facedown on one side of the pizza.
Speaking of onions, one time, my friend decided to make a banana and yoghurt smoothie. Her dad came in, said it wasn’t healthy enough, and made her add an onion to it.
They had a homemade cereal I thankfully was able to opt out of trying which 100% looked like the contents of a vacuum bag. I still have no idea what it contained.
Amazingly, it was by no means just me who experienced this. It was a small town, and every girl in it my age had a selection of horror stories about being invited to dinner at this friend’s house in the exact same ritualistic horror-film fashion. We used to sit around comparing them at sleepovers. Age did not exempt you. One time, this friend’s six year old brother had a friend over for dinner at the same time, poor soul. His mom arrived to pick him up, and wasn’t allowed to take him home until he finished whatever crime against cooking was on the menu that night.
Every story was the same. The ritual that never varied. Every time, these people would make a huge fanfare out of inviting you over for dinner, act all hospitable and excited, set the table, and then serve you a massive helping of the worst food in the world, and make you clean your plate of it, desert included. Who the hell forces you to finish your DESERT?
It’s a mystery to me. They clearly had SOME degree of self-awareness, because after I came to my senses and started coming up with excuses to avoid eating at their house they would tease me saying things like “ohoho, you don’t like LIKE our food do you”. If they had been a bit more fun and less generally puritanical sort of people, I could totally believe this was a family trolling activity where they secretly schemed to come up with the worst possible dishes, secretly filmed themselves forcing people to eat them and watched it and laughed afterwards, I could believe it.
All I’m saying is I’m pretty sure they weren’t aliens, but the more I type this out, the more tempted I am to believe it. Fuck it, maybe they WERE aliens.

Groceries
Pairing: Frankie ‘Catfish’ Morales/Reader
Word Count: 1,712
Warnings: mentions of PTSD, one mention of Tom, but this is mostly fluff.
Permanent Taglist: @phoenixhalliwell
Reader takes the boys grocery shopping. I’m sure that can’t go badly, right?
You grabbed your keys, swinging them around your finger and heading into the living room, where the boys were settled. “I’m headed out.”
Frankie looked up, putting his drink down. “Where to?”
“The grocery store,” you said. “If we’re hosting the game tomorrow, I’m gonna need more food.”
“I wanna go!” Ever the golden retriever, Benny hopped up, eagerly bounding to the door and practically vibrating by your side. Frankie, just as much a puppy as his best friend, followed suit, giving you his biggest pleading eyes, knowing full well those damn things were your kryptonite.
“Fine!” You said, opening the door. “Get in the car before I change my mind. Pope, Ironhead, you in?”
Both of your other boys were slower, getting into the car with more difficulty. Frankie, by your side in the passenger seat, smiled as you started the car. Santiago and Will, both in the middle, cracked their windows, allowing Benny, in the way back, to be hit with the fresh air and curb his motion sickness.
“I cannot believe you are all coming,” you grumbled, backing out of the driveway.
The drive was short, and before you knew it, Frankie and Benny were out of the car and fighting over who got to sit in the cart.
“My significant other is driving!” Frankie pointed out, gesturing to you, waiting with the cart.
“Okay?” Benny countered. “You sat in the cart last time!”
“Boys!” Both heads turned to you. “We need two carts anyway.”
Almost instantly, Frankie was getting into your cart, grinning. “I love you.”
“Yeah yeah.” You gave the rim of his hat a small push, so it dipped below his eyes. “I swear I’m engaged to a toddler.”
“Engaged?” Santiago said, stopping in his tracks. “Fish, you proposed?”
You held out your hand, showing off your engagement ring. “Yeah. Last week. Sorry we didn’t tell you. There was the game to plan for, and then my parents got super emotional about it, and then his family insisted on having a party, and it all slipped our minds.”
Benny smirked. “I knew.”
Will gasped. “You traitor! Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Because I was coaching dear Fish through it!” Benny said. “He was a ball of nerves.”
“He dropped the ring,” you said, navigating the cart down the produce aisle and grabbing a thing of raspberries, tossing it to Frankie and moving to examine the pomegranates. “Twice.”
While the boys teased Frankie, you and Santiago browsed the produce, grabbing a few veggies and fruits. You tossed a bag of broccoli onto Frankie’s stomach, snapping him out of his conversation. “Hey, dorks. I haven’t got all night.”
Will gave Frankie’s shoulder a shove and pushed Benny’s cart down the next aisle. He helped Santiago pick beer, Benny shouting suggestions while you took Frankie to the bakery.
“I love you,” Frankie said happily as you put a pack of his favorite lofthouse cookies in the cart.
“Love you more,” you said, absently pushing the cart through the bakery and grabbing bagels. “Wanna look at those ridiculous cakes that are like, 90% frosting and food coloring?”
Frankie lit up. “I am marrying you for all the right reasons.”
You laughed, steering the cart towards the cakes. Frankie eagerly pointed to one that was, as you’d said, mostly brightly colored frosting. The baker, a younger girl with pink and blue hair, waved to you. “Getting ready for the game?”
“Yep!” You said. “I’ve got all the boys here with me. And speak of the devils,” you added, hearing the rest of your group join you.
The baker greeted the group. “Oh! Frankie, how’d the proposal go?”
Frankie grinned. “Well, I got a yes.”
“Congrats!”
“Okay how the hell did your grocery store baker know but not us?” Santiago demanded.
“She helped me make the perfect cupcake!” Frankie said.
You snorted. “The cupcake you dropped down my shirt?”
Yet again, the boys teased Frankie for his proposal mishaps while you rolled your eyes and looked over the premade pie crusts.
“Frankie! Boys! C’mon!” You shouted eventually. “I can’t be here until midnight.”
The boys followed you down a few more aisles, Santiago, somehow, proving to be the responsible one as he helped you fill out your grocery list. He put two boxes of crackers in Benny’s cart, looking at you. “Dairy next?”
“Snacks, then drinks, then cereal, then frozens, then meat, and then dairy,” you said, running over the list. “That’s just how the store is arranged.”
Santiago shrugged. “Works for me. To the snacks!”
The snack aisles were a very dangerous place. You were suddenly the only voice of reason as the boys eyed the chips.
“One bag of Doritos, and one bag of pretzels,” you bargained with Will. “Get the stupid honey ones Frankie’s addicted to.”
“Excuse you!” Frankie said, grabbing a box of granola bars and settling back down in the cart. “Those things are amazing.”
“I’m not saying they aren’t,” you agreed, reaching over Benny to grab dried fruit. “But you might be addicted to those damn things.”
Will put both bags in the cart. “Anything else?”
“Microwave popcorn,” you read off the list, nodding to Santiago as he walked off to grab it. “Two bags of M&Ms, one bag of black licorice twizzlers, one bag of jelly beans, and five Hershey’s bars.”
“The chocolate comes in packs of six,” Will said, beginning to grab the candy. “It’ll work, right?”
“Yep!” You said, using the back of Frankie’s head to cross things off your list. “Next aisle, before I get conned into buying anything stupid.”
“Can we get sour gummy worms?” Benny’s hesitant voice said from behind you.
You turned. “Why?”
Benny fiddled with the bag, an almost guilty look on his face. “They were Tom’s favorite.”
You sighed, melting a bit. “Of course Benny.”
Benny smiled, fidgeting with the bag as you ushered everyone into the drinks aisle.
“Frankie, hon, how are we on coffee?” You asked, examining the coffee and finding your brand.
“We need more!”
You stood, holding the coffee and putting it in the cart. “Can I trust you to grab me a box of ginger ale?”
Frankie nodded, climbing out of the cart. “You want the name brand, and not the, and I quote, shitty stuff, yeah?”
“You know me so well,” you said happily. “I’ll get your tea.” You grabbed two boxes of chamomile tea, which was the only stuff that helped Frankie sleep through the night. Tossing the boxes into Benny’s cart, you examined the aisle, trying to remember what else you needed. “Okay, I think we’re done here. If I forgot something, it’s on you to grab it,” you said to Will, who smiled and nodded.
The next aisle was simple. You left Benny, Will, and Santiago at the aisle’s entrance while you took Frankie down to grab his cereal. He reached up, not even bothering to get out of the cart as he grabbed a box of cereal.
“Frozens!” You announced, turning down the frozen food aisle. “Will, can you grab two frozen pizzas and a bag of meatballs? Pope, you’re on game snacks. Mozzarella sticks, pizza rolls, and taquitos. Benny! Stay there and look cute! Frankie, you’re on veggie duty.”
Your boys assembled, dutifully carrying out the tasks you’d set. Meanwhile, you tucked a few pints of ice cream in the cart, winking to Benny as he pointed to his favorite flavor.
When he returned, Frankie climbed back into the cart, setting the bags of frozen veggies beside him. “I got green beans, corn, and peas,” he said. “Did we need anything else?”
“Nope,” you said, resting your elbows on his shoulders. “What’s left on the list?”
Frankie scanned the paper. “Bread, bagels, meat, milk, yogurt, cheese, and butter.”
When you had all your boys back at your side, you kept moving, examining the meat selection the grocery store had. “Babe, how many pounds of ground beef do we have?”
“Uhh.” Frankie began counting off on his fingers while you smiled and grabbed a pack of bacon. “Four?”
“So not enough,” you decided, grabbing two more. You sent Santiago to grab chicken breasts, keeping Will and Benny with you as you looked over the sandwich meat. Eventually putting sliced turkey in the cart, you nodded to Santiago as he handed you the chicken.
“One more aisle, I promise,” you said, heading towards the dairy section. “Then we can go back home.”
You grabbed a carton of regular milk and a carton of lactose free milk, handing them both to Benny. Then came the cream cheese tub, the butter, the yogurt, the sliced cheese to go with the crackers, and you were finally swinging back through the bakery to grab bread and bagels before heading to the checkout.
After checking out, you herded the boys back to the car, loading everything into the trunk and making sure everyone was buckled in before slowly turning out of the parking lot.
“Did we have fun?” You asked the car, turning the radio down a notch so you could hear them.
“Yes,” all four of your passengers responded, each with varying levels of awareness.
It was a struggle to get the groceries in the house and put away. Benny was shot, passing out on the couch almost immediately upon re-entering the house. Everyone else did their best, but Will tapped out after hauling everything in, and Frankie and Santiago barely made it through the process of putting everything away.
“You got ice cream?” Frankie asked, holding one pint and staring at it. “God I fucking love you!”
You laughed, putting the cereal in its proper cupboard. “I love you too.”
Eventually, you were on the couch, Frankie by your side and the rest of your boys in various other places. You scratched absently through Frankie’s hair, flicking through movies until finally settling on a calming kids movie about dragons. Since his return from his final mission, Frankie hadn’t been too keen on action movies. Something about the explosions set him off.
“Babe?”
“Yes Frankie?”
Frankie looked up at you, eyes partially closed. “Thank you for taking us to the store. I don’t think Benny’s been grocery shopping since we got back.”
You smiled, kissing Frankie’s nose. “Anything for my boys.”

sometimes work involves:
- showing up at 7:30am to a full parking lot and people waiting to cash out. we open. at EIGHT.
- actually starting to cash people out at 7:30ish like we always do on sale days.
- someone dropped and shattered the last bobblehead ceramic mushroom that’s been sitting around for literal years. we had grown to be fond of the dusty little thing and mourned it, a pile of shards on the side counter, at the end of the day. o7
- a customer ran in and deposited a large box of timbits on the counter hello yes thank you
- two customers went to the other counter and I overheard that clerk go, “did you. did you make your own mix and match four-packs?” and the customers went, “yes?? it’s [price] per plant, we do this every year.” and the clerk went, “well okay, for future reference, don’t do that. :)” and they tried to argue. man go HOME wtf
- this reminded me of the time a few years back where some lady came to the register with individual vegetable plugs pulled from 4-packs. 1 single broccoli. 1 single tomato. it was the end of the day so we didn’t hassle her as much as she deserved.
- so then a few people were coming through with 3-packs, all confused. *puts head in hands*
- PIZZA AND WINGS FOR LUNCH ✨🎉🍕🎆🎊
- teaching the new hire (what a first day!!) how to use the register. it’s a good thing she’s a quick learner bc I am... not the best teacher. u_u
- so many people brought their dogs. which is fine, it’s just. there are so many kinds of dog. some are so small. and so oddly-shaped. and they look at you with little old man eyes. all day all day all day.
- the “I am doing this so my knees don’t completely lock up” dance.

This is gettting fun!
Because it's Lent and I'm still Catholic, we picked up a cheese pizza for dinner tonight, and pepperoni to add to hubby's half.
I was thinking about what I could have for lunch today and was going "Well I can make up a salad, roast some asparagus... oh! And there's the black olives for snacking on."
Then my brain went, "Wait." I can put the black olives on my half of the pizza tonight! Then I remembered I still have broccoli from Sunday I can add to the pizza. My hubby is going to look at me strangely, but it's not his pizza. It's mine. *insert manic grin here*
Tumblr media
I really can't wait to have pizza tonight now! This is going to be delicious!

The NYADA Vegans Club
Summary: A cute guy catches Blaine’s eye and draws him to a meeting of the NYADA Vegans Club. Except Blaine is very, definitely not a vegan.
Read on AO3
"This meeting of the NYADA Vegans Club is now in session!"
Blaine jumped as the sound of a gavel hitting wood cracked through the air. The NYADA Vegans Club? Had he heard that right?
When he had followed that hot freshman guy into the room, he'd hoped it would be a meeting for something much more in line with his interests. He couldn't honestly sit through a meeting of a club that actively promoted not eating cheese for a guy he knew nothing about. Could he?
"I see many new faces this year, so let's go around and introduce ourselves. I'm Jay, the president of the NYADA Vegans. I've been a vegan for six years. And you?" Jay gestured to where Blaine stood half in and half out the doorway. "Will you be joining us?"
Blaine saw the hot guy give a small laugh at his expense as he tried to decide whether he was coming or going.
Coming, he decided upon making eye contact with his new crush.
"I'm Blaine and being vegan is something I've dedicated my life to."
He didn't know where the lie came from, but there was no taking it back once it was out. He watched as the guy's friend —a cute, small, brunette — poked his arm and made no secret of winking pointedly in Blaine's direction.
Introductions continued around the room until Blaine learned that the hot guy was named Kurt, a baby vegan of just 6 months, and his friend was named Rachel, a fellow lifelong vegan.
Blaine hadn't given much consideration to what might happen at a vegan club meeting, so he couldn't say he was surprised when anti-animal product PSAs began playing on a large screen in the room. Shortly after the videos ended, they were instructed to break, and when the meeting resumed, they would be writing letters to local restaurants encouraging the use of more vegan products.
With the excuse of wanting to stretch his legs, Blaine walked over to where Kurt and Rachel were helping themselves to cups of almond milk and dairy-free cookies.
"There he is!" he heard Rachel whisper loudly to Kurt. "Say hi!"
"Oh my god, Rachel, way to be discreet. Hi," Kurt said, extending his hand toward Blaine. "I'm Kurt, and this is Rachel, who has yet to master the art of subtlety."
Kurt's hand felt warm and perfect in his. "Blaine."
"We remember. The lifelong vegan. Impressive."
"Yeah," Blaine said, trying not to wrinkle his nose at the lie. "Thanks. So are you two freshmen? I think I recognize you from orientation."
"Oh phew," Kurt pretended to wipe his brow. "I thought I recognized you from orientation, too, but I didn't want to be the first creep to admit it."
Blaine blushed and looked at his feet, trying to figure out how to run from the room and never see Kurt again without looking like too much of a loser.
"Relax, Blaine." Kurt laughed and put a reassuring hand on his bare forearm. "I was kidding."
"Oh thank god, I thought I was going to have to switch schools."
They all laughed at Blaine's dramatics and continued on with a light conversation. Blaine was thrilled to notice that Kurt's eyes lingered on him as they spoke, and that he laughed the loudest at Blaine's jokes.
They chatted through the letter writing activity and stayed long past the end of the meeting, discussing their histories with show choir and their favorite musicals and what their upcoming college career could hold in store.
When they finally parted to go home to apartments on opposite sides of the city, Blaine couldn't deny that following Kurt into that meeting was the best dumb choice he'd ever made.
Blaine went back for the next meeting, and then the next. The subject matter may have been less than stimulating, but the scenery was gorgeous and the conversation wasn't bad either. He and Kurt were having a great time getting to know each other, but neither came right out and flirted openly or made plans outside of Vegan Club. Instead, they sent each other looks with dopey smiles on their faces when they thought nobody was paying attention, and blushed bashfully when they were caught.
When it became clear that neither of them would be making any moves, Rachel took it upon herself to intervene. She invited Blaine over for a five course vegan meal at her and Kurt's loft, and he accepted immediately.
While Blaine saw the merits of vegan products, and had even thoroughly enjoyed some of the snacks offered at Vegan Club, he couldn't say he was looking forward to an entirely vegan meal. But he was one to try anything, and since Kurt — who somehow got more attractive every time they saw each other — was involved, he would definitely be trying Rachel's feast.
"Blaine's here!" he heard Rachel yell from the other side of the door. He tightened his already too-tight grasp on the wine he'd had his roommate buy for him and waited for someone to answer his knock.
The heavy door slid open, and Blaine couldn't decide if he should stare at Kurt or the apartment. Kurt, as usual, won out.
"You look amazing," he said as he pulled a surprised, but flattered, Kurt into a hug.
"Thank you, so do you."
"Your apartment is incredible," Blaine gushed, looking around. "It's giving me chic RENT vibes."
"Kurt decorated most of it," Rachel told him from her spot by the stove. She lifted the spoon she was holding. "Broccoli vegan cheddar soup! Are you ready to eat?"
It turned out that vegan cheddar was not exactly Blaine's preferred cheese. And that meatless meatloaf wasn't his preferred entrée. There was a little hope for the vegan strawberry cheesecake. At least, it looked mouthwatering.
"Kurt made this one," Rachel announced as she set the plates in front of them. "He worked on it all last night, so I'm sure it will be wonderful."
Blaine took a bite and closed his eyes with the overwhelming deliciousness of the cake.
"Wow, Kurt, I've never had a vegan dessert so good. You've got to share the recipe with me!"
Kurt shook his head. "Sorry, secret family recipe."
"Oh well, guess you'll just have to keep making it for me, then," Blaine teased. He stood and headed to the kitchen. "Shall I get the new bottle of wine from the fridge?"
"No!" Kurt said, a little too loudly, pushing back from the table and beating Blaine to the fridge, standing in front of it. "You're our guest. Please sit and I'll get it."
Blaine returned to the table to find Rachel trying her best to hide a laugh, but he didn't ask.
After the dessert plates were cleared, they settled on the couch to watch a movie. At first, Blaine had thought Rachel was acting as Kurt's wingman by asking him to their apartment for dinner and a movie, and that she'd do the classic "I'm going to bed" and slip away to leave the two men alone, but she never did. She stayed the entire movie, curled up on the other side of Kurt. Blaine rested his hand on the couch next to him, inching his way toward where Kurt's hand lay, brushing their fingers together every so often and sending a jolt of excitement though his arm. He wanted to chance putting an arm around Kurt, but with Rachel so close, it would have been awkward.
By the time he hugged the two roommates goodnight and left, Blaine knew he couldn't waste any more time. He was going to ask Kurt out.
———
After enduring another excruciatingly boring Vegan Club meeting, Blaine finally asked Kurt on a date. His heart soared when Kurt said yes without hesitation.
That Saturday evening, Blaine and Kurt met in front of the student center on campus. After overtly admiring each other for a few seconds, Kurt spoke up.
"I'm really glad you had the balls to ask me out. I put on a good show of confidence, but when it comes to boys, that's all it is — a show. If you hadn't asked, we'd probably still be staring at each other all cutesy and pretending we only like each other as friends two years down the road."
"I'm glad too, then. I'm not afraid to make big moves. They almost always backfire on me somehow, but…" he shrugged. "Can't win if you never play the game!"
Kurt gave a laugh-snort. "You're like a walking motivational poster."
"Kurt," Blaine said, looking at him seriously. "You've gotta risk it to get the biscuit."
Their laughter carried them all the way to the restaurant, a small bistro tucked away from most of the nearby foot traffic.
Cozied up in the round, plush booth where they were directed, the waiter interrupted their conversation to take their order.
"I'll have the house salad with balsamic vinaigrette and a cup of the vegan minestrone soup, please," Blaine said, longing for something more substantial, but selecting the only vegan options on the menu.
Kurt gave him a weird look, then ordered for himself. "I would like the filet mignon."
Blaine's smile faltered. "What? Kurt! Are you falling off the wagon?"
"I need to tell you something." Kurt turned to Blaine, their waiter temporarily forgotten. "I am not now, nor have I ever been, vegan. I was only at Vegan Club that night because I promised Rachel I would go with her to the first meeting. Then I couldn't stop going because of...well, you."
Kurt's face looked terrified, like he was worried Blaine might up and leave the date due to his confession. Instead, Blaine laughed.
"Oh, thank god!"
"What?" Kurt seemed confused yet relieved.
"I've never been vegan a day in my life either. I'd noticed you from day one of orientation and I thought you were the cutest guy I'd ever seen. So I followed you into Vegan Club without knowing it was Vegan Club, because I thought you'd be more likely to go out with me if we shared interests."
"Oh my god. You can't be serious." Kurt was wheeze-laughing so hard he collapsed into Blaine's chest. Blaine put his arms around Kurt and pulled him closer before remembering the waiter who was slowly backing away from their table with an amused expression.
"Wait!" Blaine called. "I'd like to change my order to the six cheese pizza, if that's okay."
That only made Kurt lose it even further. "I can't believe this." He settled down enough that he straightened out and looked into Blaine's eyes. "You're perfect."
"You're perfect," Blaine responded.
"And we're perfect together," they sang the Wicked line at the same time.
The magic of the moment led them into a tender first kiss that knocked them sideways until Blaine pulled back just enough to whisper, "That amazing cheesecake you made last week wasn't really vegan, was it?"

always you | wen junhui
ミ★ synopsis: there’s one rule when it comes to friends with benefits, don’t catch feelings. however, you and your best friend jun were never that good at listening, now were you?
ミ★ genre: light angst, some humor, some fluff
ミ★ warnings: none!
ミ★ word count: 1,829
ミ★ pairings: jun x female reader
ミ★ notes: hi guys! i wasn’t planning on adding any angst but it somehow... ended up happening... so I... am so sorry....
Tumblr media
You and Jun knew that the concept of “friends with benefits” was horrible. You both had a consensus that it never works, and someone always ends up developing feelings through it. However, even after all those times you both clowned the act, you still ended up in each other’s arms. Which is currently right now.
You’re laying in Jun’s bed, his arms wrapped around your bare torso as he sleeps. This is the nth time you and Jun have had sex in a span of two months. You don’t know how this began, well you do but that doesn’t matter. One second you’re both making fun of how they all say “no feelings allowed,” the next second Jun is kissing down your body and you can’t help but want more.
Jun and you have been best friends for as long as you could remember. Your moms have been best friends since they were kids, and as soon as your mom was pregnant with you, his mom was ecstatic about her son on the way having a friend the same age. When they found out that you were gonna be a girl, it slowly went from having our kids be bffies, to having our kids marry each other when they’re old enough.
As you and Jun grew up, you always got disgusted at the idea of marrying each other. Jun using the excuse of you having cooties from the tender age of 5, all the way until he was 16. While you, you said he was a burnt piece of broccoli.
“Y/n, honey, doesn’t junnie look handsome? He even got your favorite flower for your corsage!” Your mom exclaims, making Jun smile widely at her as she gives him a kiss on the cheek. He’s wearing an emerald green dress shirt with tight fitting black slacks. He has a black tie with small polka dots on it, and in his hand is the clear container that’s holding your corsage.
Jun gives you a wink and you fake gag into your hand immediately, making him roll his eyes and your mom hit your shoulder with a giggle. “I suppose… he looks decent…” You mutter, giving him a shit-eating grin and he glares at you.
“Alright, alright you two. Just go and get your corsage from him, then pin the boutonniere on him for me please. You know that auntie will want a good photo of you guys.” Your mom tells you both, making sure to mention Jun’s mom. You walk up to Jun as he takes out the corsage from the container, it’s a white daisy with a few gems surrounding it. You glance up at him through your falsies and you notice that he’s looking at everything but you.
“You know that you have to put the corsage on my wrist, right?”
“YoU KnOW thAt YoU hAVe TO pUt ThE coRsAGe oN MY wRIsT, rIgHT?”
“Motherfucker did you just mock me?” You ask him and he finally looks into your eyes, and you take notice of the blush on his cheeks, but your attention soon goes elsewhere once you notice the challenge in his eye.
“Why yes I did, you cooties having woman.” He answers, putting the corsage on your wrist, to which you both pause your mini feud to smile at the camera.
“What are you, nine? We’re sixteen Junnie please.” You tell him, making sure to prick his chest with the boutonniere and he flinches a bit. You both turn once again to smile at the camera.
“You guys argue like a married couple. It was cute at first, but after having to deal with it for the past three years…” Your mom mentions, causing you and Jun turn away from each other to make vomit noises. She rolls her eyes at the both of you.
“Me? Married to the CEO of cooties? Hell no auntie!” Jun exclaims and you raise your hand up to slap him, making him flinch away from you.
“Oh yeah? At least I’m not a burnt piece of BROCCOLI!” You shout and he gapes at you.
“What did you just call me?” Jun asks, taking a few steps forward until there’s only a couple inches between you both.
“You heard me. Burnt piece of broccoli havin-”
“Okay thanks for the pictures! Have fun! Be home by 11!” Your mom says, shoving you both out the door to avoid a brawl breaking out in her doorway.
Someway, somehow, you and Jun moved past that stage of being fake disgusted with each other and ended up becoming friends with benefits. The one thing you both made fun of the most, especially after all those nights of staying up reading Wattpad stories about the friends with benefits concept and laughing. Now you are both, indeed, booboo the fool.
The first morning after it happened, you guys telepathically agreed to act like it quite literally did not happen. However, that was hard. Considering the fact that Jun seemingly started checking you out more often than not, and him noticing your lingering touches, it ended up happening again. The second time it happened, you both talked it out.
The one and only rule you both agreed on was: “Don’t catch feelings, and don’t let this ruin our friendship.”
As you lay here, feeling Jun’s soft breaths on the back of your neck as he sleeps, you know you’ve broken the rule. You know that it’s been broken for awhile, and you don’t want to tell him. You can’t tell him.
However, what you don’t know is that Jun also broke the one and only rule you both have set. It was broken from the moment you both created that rule, considering the fact that he’s been in love with you since you guys were eighteen. He knew it when you both danced together under the stars at your annual “camping in the backyard” summer activity. He knew it when you’d stand up slightly on your tiptoes to squish his face whenever he made a sarcastic comment. He knew it when he would turn to you and see the whole galaxy in your eyes. He knew it from the moment he first leaned in to kiss you on the drunken night, and when he saw you against the white sheets. He’s known, but he doesn’t have any plans on telling you.
                 °。°。°。°。°。°。°。゜。°。°。°
In the process of denying your feelings for Jun, you met someone from your lecture. He’s nice enough, and he’s rather attractive, but your heart is in the wrong place. Deep down you know it, but you being dumb, you ignore it.
As Jun gets up to go to the restroom during your move night, you check your phone. You notice that the guy from lecture texted you a few minutes ago asking if you wanted to go and grab some dinner. “Oh shit.” You mutter, thinking about what to say. “Should I go?” You whisper to yourself.
“Go where?” Jun asks as he sits back down beside you on the couch, and you quickly turn off your phone, somehow afraid to get caught. This makes you almost slap yourself in the face, because why should you be afraid?
We’re not dating anyways.
“Oh, this guy from my class asked me to go get dinner.” You say as nonchalantly as possible, and you feel Jun tense up beside you.
Because what the fuck, no.
“O-oh.” Jun says quietly, and he internally curses himself because that’s not at all what he wanted to say. You somehow feel disappointed by his lack of response, causing you to also internally curse yourself because you should be happy about it. Him not caring is a step closer to you getting over him, you think to yourself.
“I think I’ll go and get dinner with him. The movie is over anyways.” You say quickly, getting up off the couch and walking over to the dinner table to grab your bag.
“R-really? You don’t wanna make pizza with me?” Jun asks, standing up and following you, trying desperately to make you stay without making it obvious that he doesn’t want you to go. You let out a forced giggle, shaking your head no softly.
“We can do that next time Junnie, I’ll text you later?” You say and Jun bites his lip. You cock your head to the side as he reaches out and grasps your wrist softly.
“What?”
“I don’t want you to go y/n.” Jun murmurs, causing your heart to beat hard against your chest. He looks into your eyes and you feel your knees weaken, along with your resolve. “Why?” You ask quietly.
“I..” You look at him expectantly.
“I broke the rules..” He whispers and you feel your heart drop into your ass.
“You.. you what?”
“Y/n, I don’t want you to see anyone else. I don’t want you to go out and eat with any other guy. I don’t want you to date anyone else,” Jun feels his heartbeat in his ears as he takes a deep breath to prepare himself for what he’s about to say next.
“Y/n, I love you. I’ve been in love with you since we were eighteen. When we first started this and had that agreement, I broke the rule from the start.” He whispers and you stare at him, gaping.
Because holy shit it’s not one sided.
You feel tears flood your eyes and Jun’s eyes widen at the sight of a teardrop fall. You look down, covering your face with your hair as Jun starts asking what’s wrong and why you’re crying. You take a step forward, wrapping your arms around his torso. Jun freezes, before melting and holding you in his arms, rubbing your back the way he knows you like it.
“I broke the rules too, I love you Junnie. I love you so much.” You say, and Jun pulls back so he can get a good look at your face. Your eyes are puffy, and your nose is a bit stuffy, but he knows he’ll never forget this sight.
“You do?” He asks and you nod your head, letting out a smile once he smiles widely at you.
“Perfect.” He whispers before grasping your face with both hands, leaning in to finally kiss you. It’s nothing new, this whole kissing thing, but it’s different this time around. You both know it, and you both can feel it. You start to smile, causing him to smile and teeth to clash together, so he pulls back. You smile widely at him and he giggles at you.
“Just to clarify though,” Jun says, regaining his composure. You raise an eyebrow and he gives you that teasing grin you love so much, “this means you’re not gonna go meet that guy for dinner… right?” You burst out laughing and Jun chuckles too.
“Yes Jun, that’s exactly what that means.”

Goodness, it's been a while since I've been here.
As you may have noticed, I'm not very good at making sure I have regular content to post. I have a day job and quite a bit to keep up with at home, and I have limited energy as it is. That being said, I just wanted to throw a little update out there with some encouragement and tips for aspiring homesteaders.
I'm a pizza delivery driver who lives in an apartment, but that doesn't mean I can't be more self sufficient, and frugality is a cornerstone of self sufficiency. So, here's a few things I've been doing lately since Covid-19 took hold to keep more money in my own pocket.
I have been making all of my meals at home from scratch. I have reduced grocery shopping to once a month, and have cut out completely (expensive and unhealthy) premade foods like canned soups, boxed/frozen meals, and packaged snacks. Dry beans, rice, and oatmeal have become staples that I eat almost every day because they're very cheap (I got a 25lb bag of brown rice for $18, 16lbs of dry pinto beans for $12, and 4lbs of oatmeal for $2) and store for a very long time. Frozen veggies like green beans and broccoli are also cheap and storable long term, and potatoes, onions, and garlic are inexpensive produce that can last for months. Eggs last a surprisingly long time, so I buy the big box of 60 medium eggs for $5. I have turned my refrigerator temperature down to 34°f which keeps food fresher longer. I have cut my grocery bill in half by making these the main items I eat, and I never have food go bad. This may sound like a pretty boring diet, but by changing up the seasonings, cooking method, or adding something simple like tortillas, you'd be surprised how versatile they are.
I don't have a lot of energy after work (people drain me), so I usually take one of my days off to cook up several large batches of things that can be eaten throughout the following week. I usually have my slow cooker, rice cooker with steamer plate, oven, and stove all going at once, and I often freeze a portion for the occasional week that I have to work an extra day and can't have a cooking day. Generally when I do this, I'm only actually in the kitchen for the AM hours, aside from emptying the slow cooker in the evening. Making large batches of food and freezing the extra is a big time and energy saver.
I have stopped buying stuff. I pay bills and buy groceries and bathroom necessities, but that's it unless it's an absolute necessity, like replacing my work pants last week because after 8 years they finally wore through. Aside from that, I haven't bought anything since April, which is when the newest book in my favorite series came out (it's okay to have the occasional luxury, so long as it stays occasional).
I put blankets up over my windows so the air conditioner doesn't have to work as hard and it stays cooler in the apartment. Yes, I have to turn on lights during the day instead of using natural lighting, but with LEDs that still takes less energy than running the air nonstop would.
All of this has allowed me to continue chipping away at my debt, even with my income being so uncertain (since I make tips I get paid less than the standard minimum wage of $7.25 so my paychecks are a joke; yes that's legal, go look it up, and always tip your server/delivery driver/bartender/etc. because that's often the only place their rent and groceries comes from). Getting out of debt is my #1 self sufficiency goal, and while I still have a ways to go, it feels good to be frugal and able to keep moving forward, even if it's just a little bit at a time.

Part 24
(Eri sat under the cherry blossom tree grinning at Rose, they'd been at the park all day, and just as the sun was setting decied to end the day with a picnic under the trees, what better way to end a day with the most amazing girl in the world)?
Rose: This day has been amazing.
Eri: I know.
Rose: (Sighs), I work all week. I wanted to ask your opinion on something, What do you think of mw becoming a peds doctor?
Eri: I think that's amazing!
Rose: I've spent a lot of time on the pediatric floor lately and I think I've found my passion, Dr. Ren says if I start now, I can be a fellow in about two years.
Eri: (Forcefully hugs Rose knocking her over), Baby! I think that's amazing!
Rose: (Laughs): Thank you. (rolls Eri over, hold her hand, looking into her eyes), what about you?
Eri: What about me?
Rose: Do you still want to be an editor?
Eri: Of course! I love my job.
Rose: But?
Eri: There's no but.
Rose: (Sits up), I can tell somethings wrong.
Eri: (Looks up at her smiling), Sometimes it can be a lot, but I wouldn't change it, the person I worry about most is Usami, but with Misaki becoming his editor, hopefully it'll be okay.
Rose: (Looks down, stroking Eri's hair). Misaki can handle Usagi.
Eri: (Places head in Roses lap), Yeah, No one gets him like Misaki does, Until I met you, I never understood what it was like to have a person. I was never close with anyone growing up.
Rose: (grins, leans down, Kissing Eri), I love you so much.
Eri: I love you to. (Smiles).
(They embrace tightly, the sun counties to set as cherry blossoms fall around them, it was magical).
(Manami set her stuff down at the door, the little boy running into his fathers arms).
Takahiro: My families home. (He grinned), I got pizza! He popped open the box, the smell off pepperoni wafting through the air).
Manami: Well I'm glad everything worked out, (she walked into the kitchen picking up a slice of pizza), but you can't pretend like everything is prefect.
Takahiro: (Sits Mahiro on the counter, handing him a slice of pizza). Like what?
Manami: I'm not going to talk about this in front of our son.
Mahiro: Dad, you were rude to my uncles, and you drank a lot.
Takahiro: So you're sixteen now? when did you learn to speak in full sentences?
Mahiro: Unami and Mataki talk A LOT.
Takahiro: Okay, well looks son, the point is you don't have to worry about anything, it's all okay.
Mahiro: (Hops down) I hope so. I'm going to my room, you and mommy can talk. (Runs into room, closing down gently).
Manami: He's right. I know what the problem was, but I'm glad it's better. You know they are in love, so deeply.
Takahiro: I could see that. I think that they are the love of each others lives. I don't know about Usagi, but I do know this is Misaki's first partner.
Manami: Yeah, you're my first, you're the love of my life.
Takahiro: You're the love of mine. (He, pulls her into a hug, kissing her softly). If this is how they feel everyday, the way we feel about each other, who am I to stand in the way?
Manami: (Softly laughs), You finally get it.
(The two embrace again, the smell of pizza and the feeling of love surrounding them).
(Misaki sits on the counter picking at the vegetables Usagi chopping for the vegetable stir fry, The older man smiled swatting his hand away).
Usagi: If you keep picking, we won't have dinner.
Misaki: (Shrugs), The vegies are fine, at least the kitchen won't burn down.
Usagi: Shut up! I've gotten better at cooking.
Misaki: You have! (Leans over giving Usagi a long kiss), I'm really proud of you.
Usagi: I couldn't of done it without you! What else do you think we need?
Misaki: Um let's see, (They already had red, yellow, and green peppers, onions, broccoli, carrots, and mushrooms), I think that's good, but maybe as you cook it add some lime juice, ginger, and minced garlic?
Usagi: Okay. (He grinned as he got to work stirring the vegetables, humming as he cooked. Misaki loved that he was cooking more, and he actually made some amazing recipes, he even made lemon brownies for dessert, the two loved lemon flavored food.) Okay, I think this is done. (He walked over to Misaki, who stirred it some nodding).
Misaki: It's perfect, (He leaned forward, caressing Usagi's cheek. You don't have to ask me to check on it every time, (He whispered softly stroking the mans jaw), Trust yourself.
Usagi: (Smirk's crookedly), I don't want to mess up, what if I disappoint you?
Misaki: That won't happen, ever. Plus messing up is how you learn, asking me every time won't help, I'm always going to tell you you're cooking is amazing.
Usagi: What about that omelet I made when we first started dating?
Misaki: (Laughs), Okay, you knew that was bad, and I don't recall eating it.
Usagi: I thought it was good... I was crazy.
Misaki: (Wraps arms around Usagi), Yeah, but I put up with you anyway. (Kiss nose softly). We should eat this though. It looks good.
Usagi: Are you sure it'd done?
Misaki: Do you think it is?
Usagi: Yeah!, yes I do. Let's eat.
Usagi: Do you remember when you went to visit your brother, and I blew up the microwave?
(The two were lying on the couch cuddling after diner playing with each others hands, pieces of their dessert and wine glasses sat on the coffee table in front of them.)
Misaki: (Laughs), Why did you cook an egg in there?
Usagi: I thought you could.
Misaki: I left food for you though.
Usagi: (Sadly), Yeah, but I didn't want to eat it without you.
Misaki: (Chuckles), It was for you. (Glances at the photos on the table, Takahiro said they could keep them, since Misaki didn't have any pictures of his parents).
Usagi: How well do you remember them?
Misaki: Oh, um... (Misaki twisted his engagement ring around), I guess I don't. The only thing that I really remember is the car crash, and for the longest time thinking it was my fault.
Usagi: (Runs his hand through Misaki's hair), Oh baby, you know that's not true.
Misaki: I know that, but I did think it was, If I hadn't asked them to rush, if I wasn't so selfish, that's why I thought maybe if I stopped being selfish nothing bad would ever happen to anyone I ever loved again... then you got hurt...
Usagi: (Tears forming in his eyes), Oh Misaki, (Pulls him up, holding him tight), Things happen, you can stop them.
Misaki: (Crying), If I would've noticed you were sick...
Usagi: (Through tears) Don't you get it? I didn't want you to know, finals were starting, you needed to worry about that, if I didn't think I was going to be okay, I would've told you I was sick.
Misaki: (Pulls away, looking at his face, wiping his tears away, whispering) I love you so much Akihiko.
Usagi: (Smiles): I love you too, (Plants kiss all over Misaki's face causing him to giggle.
Misaki: Hey, Um I have a question?
Usagi: Anything.
Misaki: Tomorrow, there's something I want to do, I've been wanting to do it for a long time, but Tomorrow being a Sunday, it feels right.
Usagi: What is it?
Misaki: I want you to meet them. (He took one last glance at the photo behind them, then looked at Usagi.), The truth is, I don't think I've been to their grave since they died, I was never able to do it, face them you know.
Usagi: Because you thought it was your fault?
Misaki: Yeah, but I need to go see them, everything is different now, I'm graduating, and I'm getting married to the Love of my life. (He grinned, kissing Usagi's ring). I want them to know you.
Usagi: They can't be worse than my parents.
Misaki: (Smirks), Hey, shut up. (Pushes his chest). If they we're alive, they would love you.
Usagi: I hope they would be happy for us.
Misaki: Whoa, Mr. insecure.
Usagi: I would want you're parents to love me.
Misaki: They would, My parents always wanted me to be happy, I always remember them telling me that. That's something they said that always stuck with me.
Usagi: They wouldn't care who you ended up with?
Misaki: I don't think so, I mean no one expected us to end up together.
Usagi: Um, the universe did, (He lifted his hands up making a ball), It's fate baby.
Misaki: You're ridiculous. (Presses lips to Usagi's) But I love you. (Kiss him softly.
Usagi: (Lips still pressed together), You don't think it's Fate?
Misaki: Of course, It's density, (Kisses him), We were always meant to be together, (Another kiss), No matter what.

Low-Carb and Low-Cal Recipes for Intermittent Fasting
Okay, I kinda spazzed and deleted a bunch of my posts. I started my Intermittent Fasting journey December 18th, weighing-in at 302 LBS. I am now 242 LBS. So far I’ve lost 60 LBS exactly. My doctor is keeping an eye on me, and I’m doing my blood tests this week. :)
My weight loss has been melodramatic, but I quit drinking, switched around my entire eating habits (I used to order out with my husband 3-4 times a week - he’s a chef and hates cooking when he gets home). Now he orders out on his own, and I stick to my low-carb options that I keep at home.
I use Intermittent Fasting. I use Fastic as my Fasting program. My Fitness Pal to record my food intake, and Monitor Your Weight to well, duh, monitor my weight. If you’re looking for low-carb recipes, I have some great ones.
My meals are all low-carb and low-cal
Like, hard boiled eggs (a dash of salt or pepper, as snacks or sandwich filler), tuna, tilapia, salmon, romaine lettuce for salads or in replacement of bread.
For tuna wraps (two cans of skipjack drained (240 calories), tbsp of full-fat mayo (80 calories), pepper medley, (you can add chives or celery), wrap in lettuce (head of lettuce - 5 calories for two large leafs) -- makes two sandwiches.
(325 calories)
Egg salad wraps (two-three-four eggs, depends on how hungry you are), tbsp full-fat mayo, mustard to taste -- you can add a dash of salt or pepper, wrap lettuce around it to make 'sandwiches'.
(229-301-373 calories - 2-3-4 large eggs)
I typically boil an entire carton of eggs in one sitting, remember that it takes more time to cook a whole carton.
I also get cartons of egg whites (two containers/250g a container), I use a whole carton, microwave for 2 minutes 45 seconds, and then mix in a big tablespoon of peanut butter. It's surprisingly delicious! And low-carb.
(210 calories - 290 calories if you use 2 tablespoons of peanut butter)
Snacks: Large hard boiled eggs (dash of salt or pepper) - (72 calories a piece), cherry tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers, celery, (all great for salads as well), peanut butter, greek yogurt (don't get sweetened ones, they have a LOT of sugar in them).
Sometimes I just slice up a whole tomato (Beefsteak - 33 calories), and put some salt on it, and eat just that as a snack.
Get full fat dressing of your choice to dip or use as dressing. Smoked oysters (good healthy fat) with Clubhouse “La Grille pepper medley”.
(130 calories)
You can put peanut butter on your celery. Also, 15 almonds is about 100 calories – if you put them in water and in the fridge, they'll double to triple in size, much more filling that way!
Carbs: Whole grain brown rice (usually Uncle Ben's Express roasted chicken, vegetable medley, or mushroom), ready in 90 seconds! I typically only eat half a bag because the carb count can add up, for the second use -- you add a cup of water in the microwave, and heat up for 45-60 seconds.
(130-140-150 calories)
Feel like pasta? They have low calorie options by Slendier – "Calorie Clever", which is gluten free, low carb, and a source of fiber. An entire package is 25 calories.
Feel like pizza? Get the whole wheat 7" tortilla wraps (the smaller size), a dash of tomato sauce spread around with the bottom of a spoon, mozza fat-free cheese slices (X2), top with low-cal toppings, spinach, chicken – 7 minutes in the oven at 400F.
(235 calories)
Veggies with dinner or any meal: Simply Steam Green Giant items (like cauliflower rice and broccoli with cheese sauce, broccoli and cauliflower with cheese sauce, and brussel sprouts in butter sauce). All of them are low-cal and delicious. I avoid corn. I'm more a veggie girl than a fruit girl (I've never really been a fan, I don't know why).
(40-60-80 calories for half a package - 80-120-160 calories for a full package)
Dessert or sweet tooth? A big spoonful of peanut butter (80-190 calories), or you can make a packet of maple oatmeal (Quaker), and half a cup of cottage cheese, is REALLY good as a dessert. Mix it together, it's creamy-deliciousness! Great as breakfast/lunch/dessert, whenever. (271 calories) Also, ICE CREAM. Plain. Chocolate. Vanilla. Nothing EXTRA in it, is what I mean. Chapman’s even makes a sugar-free, lactose-free kind. Chocolate and vanilla. Over 95% of it transfers into your urine. Having a hard day? Have a sweet tooth? And yes, Chapman's makes sugar-free chocolate and vanilla, and even ice cream sandwiches – so those are keto friendly! lol I'm lactose-intolerant so I tend to avoid dairy products. I -love- ice cream, but ice cream does NOT love me. Chapman's makes sugar-free, lactose-free Chocolate, Vanilla, Maple Walnut, Butterscotch Ripple, and Black Cherry Ice Cream! And they taste AMAZING.
Broth – I also like chicken bone broth with turmeric and black pepper. Easy to find on Amazon. I add a little bit of chicken bouillon and it tastes like a mug of spicy chicken soup.
(75 calories)
I keep vitamins on hand: Essential Electrolytes, K2, Liquid Vitamin D (the pills don't absorb properly), B6, B12, and I have Apple Cider Vinegar pills (with 'mother') and Turmeric pills on hand. Keep in mind that for some people ACV helps acid reflux, for others it doesn't.
Turmeric is NOT a supplement. Do NOT take it on an empty stomach. I took two pills, then drank coffee. It was like I ate a ghost pepper, I could feel the heat in my mouth for the rest of the day and my stomach hurt. Only take Turmeric BEFORE you eat a meal. I also take six pills of ACV X 2 a day to kick my metabolism into gear. Spicy food is your friend and so is Apple Cider Vinegar.
Remember that the low-fat options typically have a LOT more sodium/sugar in them!
Drink LOTS of water (3L a day), and don't count coffee or other liquids as your water intake. Avoid gum, and keep changing your eating window around, because it confuses your metabolism. All of these things are easy to make, because I'm lazy. LOL
P.S. I'm a 'dirty faster', and put sweetener in my coffee, albeit I'm learning not to put sweetener in. And lime in my water (you can use lime or lemon), which is scientifically proven to kick your metabolism in the butt. Cool/cold showers instead of hot ones actually burns calories, and clears up skin from acne as well.
