WHAT ARE UR FAVE CASSUNZEL FICS

CRACKS KNUCKLES

Shards by @colossusrhodes -- starting off strong with a fic that should be in everyone's cassunzel fic rec lists. This is an epilogue story that details what Cassandra got up to in her travels after leaving Corona, and then how she came back for Rapunzel when Rapunzel fell sick with a mysterious illness. It's determined that Rapunzel is sick because she still has the moonstone shard inside of her!!! They go on a quest together to find a cure. Epic, heartwarming, and incredibly well-written, PLUS it has a sequel fic (that I admittedly haven't read yet).

Unions and Reunions by @erazonpo3 -- Another epilogue fic that takes a very different but equally satisfying direction from Shards. On her journey Cassandra discovers that she has a convoluted family tree because of Gothel's long life, and picks up one of her cousins as a traveling companion before making her way back to Corona. I LOVE the original character, the cassunzel is well-done, and there's even art made by the author embedded in the fic!

if i'm dead to you, why are you at the wake and shining just for you by permets (that's my fiancee!) -- this is a pair of fics that have to be read together because one is from rapunzel's pov and the other is from cass's! They're a series of vignettes encapsulating the Yearning on both sides through the series.

fight me, princess by @owlconscience -- this fic is unfinished but soooo so worth reading! It's a comedy with plenty of cartoonish humor, and the premise is that Zhan Tiri never escaped during the finale and so cassandra never lost her moonstone. She doesn't know what to do with her life now so all she does is just antagonize rapunzel endlessly and pointlessly because it's all that makes her feel alive. It's really good just read it

Wild Nights with Rapunzel by love_killed_the_superstar -- the title makes it sound raunchier than it is, lmao. It's a sweet first kiss oneshot that I love for its atmospheric buildup and tenderness!

Honorable mention and shameless self-promo: Swear Not By the Moon, a vaguely Romeo-and-Julietcore AU where the moonstone and sundrop don't exist and Cassandra is the (lesbian) prince of the Dark Kingdom.

UPDATED WITH EPISODE 5 INFO (see below)!

I just knew if I posted a new blog they’d announce the S4 premier date for Nancy Drew! We finally know when the show is dropping - Wednesday May 31st at 8:00pm paired with Riverdale.

We knew they were going to pair the shows, and as Riverdale has 20 episodes to Nancy Drew’s 13, I expected ND to come later. On the one hand - I can’t believe we have to wait 4+ months! But it also means postponing the sad day when the show ends, so there’s that. I’m not surprised they dropped the news on Friday afternoon as they knew we’d be unhappy that it was going to be so long between seasons, and because of a key plot point (see below).

There were tons of season 4 details in the TVLine article. One of the lede items is that both Ace and Nancy will have new love interests. We’ve known for months that Henry Zaga was joining the show as a series regular for S4 - and I’ve suspected that he will fill that role. While it’s heartbreaking that we have to go through yet another love triangle (or love square?), I am excited to see what he brings as the son of Ryan’s newest enemy. Is that the Glasses (relic hunting couple from the S3 finale)? Or perhaps their boss?

As for Ace - we’ve seen jealous Ace before in Seasons 2 & 3 - I expect a lot more confrontation with Nancy and Ace in S4 based on Kennedy’s many hints (e.g. “good luck” regarding Episode 3). I’m all for lots of yearning and angst as long as we get lots of Nace scenes and of course Nace OTP by the end and hopefully sooner than the finale!

In other crew news, we have confirmation of George pursuing law, Nick pursuing business AND dating again (!), and Bess has a new enemy as well. I’m intrigued!

Sounds like we’ll get lots of interesting supernatural hijinx with the mystery of the graves, stand-alone mysteries, the sins of the past of Horseshoe Bay coming back to haunt the town, and Nancy having to risk everything and everyone to save the town AGAIN. Well, it doesn’t sound boring!

UPDATED! I wanted to add some links to my previous blog posts about Episode 5, where the new photo came from. We know that Scott Wolf directed it, there’s a confrontation in the woods (maybe with the ghosts of the past of Horseshoe Bay?), there’s scenes in a university (where George and maybe Ace attend?), including Nancy and George running, and there was filming at the same site where both the Velvet Masque and Larkspur Lane/Whisper Box were filmed (could there be a dance where Nancy and Ace are dressed up?)?

Ending with a shameless plug for my Season 4 spec fic The Space Between! Hiii! Just another LBFAD fan here, wondering what you think Xiao Lan Hua and Dongfang Qingcang would be like as parents? How long do you think they'd wait before having children?

oh these two would be the best parents for sure! i headcanon that they have three children: the oldest sibling and firstborn, which i've named xiao ming (they/them, named after siming, xlh's shifu), and then a younger (by about 5-10 human years?) twin boy and girl pair that take the dongfang surname- i'm unsure about their given names yet!

xiao lanhua: i think she'd definitely be the "more chill" parent; having been alone and doing her job for so long, she knows what it's like to not have the opportunity to go out and meet new people and have new experiences. she wants her children to be raised knowing they have that freedom, and she encourages them to make friends and try new things! she also loves being able to pass on the skills and practices of the xishan people to them, and xiao ming in particular adores gardening with her. her husband is still not the best cook, so it's usually xiao lanhua that's teaching the kids how to, and they almost always make a mess of the kitchen together.

dongfang qingcang: absolutely 100% the overprotective dad. his kids CANNOT catch a break. he is hounding down their backs with every movement. even though they've inherited different powers from their parents, he still makes them gulan bracelets/charms to carry until they're fully trained to defend themselves. still, when he's not glaring at anyone that even looks at his kids the wrong way, he's incredibly fun. he plays cuju with them, teaches them swordsmanship, takes them on boat rides, and calls shangque over to let the kids take a dragon ride too sometimes. he loves giving the kids piggyback rides too!

in general: i think they'd just be a very tightknit family. dongfang qingcang never wants what happened to him and his father to happen to their children, and xiao lanhua wants their children to know that they are not and will never be alone in this world.

if we're going off of epilogue canon: 300 years into marriage and they haven't had children yet; i'm assuming they're spending the first few hundred years to themselves, just taking each other in and getting to make new memories. they've both spent centuries without each other, so it's only fair that they get to just have each other without any obstacles.

that being said, i think they'd decide to have kids around the 500 year mark? it'd only be xiao ming for like, 300 years before they decide to try for more and give them a little didi and meimei <3

“Just a cool spot close by,” Tegan answers, parking her car in an empty space.

Unlocking the doors, she opens one and slips out of the driver’s seat. Both of them walk into a pavement. Ahead of them, there’s a building with space-themed posters displayed above an entrance. People go in and out of glass doors, which seal open for them to go in.

Beside Tegan, Hwan slows down on her pace. She blinks.

She’s been thinking about it for a while. About showing her around Enrevarde and what cool places it’s got to offer.

After all, Hwan’s been abroad for about six years. There’s tons of sights to visit and see how it’s different.

Hwan’s eyes widen slightly. “This is what you invited me to see?”

"Well, she should think of how I need to be saved from myself more."

Carter rolled his eyes. "Saved from yourself? Or your own stupid decisions? There's a major difference."

Ray gulped, looking away. "I am so not having this conversation now."

"Too bad, we're gonna having it, anyway," Carter muttered. "Ray! This will not go well! Whether Claude likes to admit it or not, she's got a guilt complex! What if she finds out you feel the same but she did that, huh?"

Setting his violin back on it’s case, he ruffles his hair. He shakes any tingles from his hands while his pulse moves quick.

Gah, this evening, he’d be performing in an with a local orchestra. He’s been practicing for hours, quaking with anticipation. He needs to be fully prepared if he’s gonna do it.

Zubari’s gonna perform in front of an audience alongside with other orchestra members. It’s been a while since he’s done it and he wants to be sure he isn’t rusty or anything.

Of course, he knows his friends are gonna be grateful for him. He’s been playing the violin since elementary school. He’s got a panache for it and he attended music lessons for this.

Sometimes, people try to drag him down. To convince him to see how what he does isn’t worth it. To put his efforts into anything else. And if he doesn’t, he’s gonna be a workaholic. Even though, he’s done his best to avoid going in too deep.

Then there’s this weird feeling as if he hasn’t done anything right at all. His dedication’s driven some people away from him. They often refuse to understand what this means for him. How much it’s a solace whenever he’s in distress. It’s a gift that he’s willing to share with others. And if they don’t get it, it’s fine by him.

Besides, he isn’t doing this for them. He’s had to figure out on how to do what he wishes. To believe in himself even if no one else does. It’s a difficult path yet he’s picked it. He managed to make things work out for himself. If not for anyone else.

Scott just moved his stick across the screen, pointing at their matching expressions filled with adoration.

"Do you see what I mean? They're aren't subtle yet they're so oblivious, and it's just. . . it makes me wanna rip my hair out!"

Joaquin winced, flicking his eyes at the audience. "Yeah, I've seen the toll it's taking on Scott. And he's in such low spirits because of them."

"And that's why!" Scott threw his arms, pointing at the screen. "We're gonna have a plan on how to bring these two together! They've been pining and I've seen too much to let it go on any longer! Thank you for listening to this rant. I apologize if it was. . . a bit lengthy."

The audience gave a slow round of applause, tainted by confusion in their expressions. Joaquin switched the dim lights back to it's original setting. He exited PowerPoint on his laptop, disconnecting it from the projector.

Katy stood up just as he shut his device down.

"That's it?" Katy asked in disbelief. "Is this why you brought us here? To announce that you're going to help the Captain America and Bucky Barnes get together? I'm not buying it yet I'm not opposed to it either. Just confused."

“A pleasure to see ya, matey,” Titanrin replies, tipping their gaudy hat of the day. “My, my. What items do ye got there, you ol’ scallyway?”

“The usual,” the sailor answers with a proud grin.

The usual? Well, perhaps, they should leave without causing a scene that can turn the business into a frenzy. Nothing caught their interest for it’s only the same items. At least, they can get to keep their money.

“Titanrin, we have a mighty offer for you,” General Vitali says, approaching them. “My squadron manages to capture a rare creature so magnificent that I think you’ll be dazzled by it.”

Ah, yes. This infamous rogue, who stormed a palace of islands, and squandered for treasure that no other person could before. It was rumored that it’s she, who slayed a dragon meant to serve a crooked queen, who swam in piles of valuable coins.

They follow Vitali languidly while she guides them to a secluded area, where they find an edge of a rope attached a handle of a barrel. A unicorn, pale and ethereal, lays down with it’s eyes shut. Their jaw drops at the sight of it.

“A unicorn?” Titanrin asks, knitting their brows together. “Where on Earth did you acquire a rare creature such as this?”

Now that they were by themselves, Cisco couldn’t help except notice he reached the prince’s shoulders. Even in person, he looked. . . impressive. Okay, not just impressive but. . . but he was a total dreamboat.

Of course, he might be exaggerating due to his nerves. Since he laid eyes on the prince, his bundle of nerves kept on being jittery. Probably from meeting actual royalty face-to-face.

“Thank you, you saved me,” Prince Emerick said, his deep voice filled with gratitude.

He looked up at him, finding his dark eyes sparkle.

“You’re welcome, I guess,” Cisco replied, chuckling. He ran a hand through his hair. “As long as I have this crystal, I’m protected. So, technically, I didn’t do much really. I wasn’t in much danger.”

His mom would be scolding him for his lack of proper manners. Gosh, he shouldn’t be this agitated. And for goodness sake, he needed to calm his breathing!

“Really? You were sort of a bad-ass back there when you rescued me. I don’t know what I could have done without you.”

Glancing at a clock, they snorted at the hour displayed.

They pressed a button on their phone and tapped it’s screen, changing their playlist.

As a librarian, who outsiders regard as too eccentric, they had so much time to rest. Yet they would rather be at the library, where things were too quiet. Or noisy, depending on any specific situation.

One of the relatively interesting things of working in a library were it’s visitors. To witness students search for information from a textbook. To see regular workers trying to escape into a story’s world. To see professors completing their paper work. To provide a check-out for a reader, who wished to bring a book with them.

No doubt that they all shared one thing in common: sleepless nights. Whether from their stress or procrastination, they probably couldn’t sleep.

Sometimes, a reader could get too caught up with a story. To the point they ignore sleeping altogether. In order to finish on discovering what occurred at a story. A rather impressive dedication in their standards. They could still read, however, they didn’t lose sleep over it.

The only troubling thing, though? They often had to watch students cram with their work. They often scoffed, . They heard they only went to the library was because of how they didn’t have wi-fi.

As for the newer ones, I'd like to reccommend ones that are still ongoing:

The World Ends with Witches by AyaAya, AU based off the anime halloween promo art, Shiki is a witch who is trying to seek the help of a certain vampire for a wish. Accompanied by Rhyme the shape-shifting cat, she opens a witchcraft shop in Shibuya and stumbles upon a certain 'Apple Jerk' who might lead her closer to her current objective. Meanwhile, a certain nun tasked a former pirate to hunt down witches. Much like Sanctuary, this is more of a gen adventure fic focusing on lots of characters at once with neshiki sprinkled on the side.

Wishes and Curses by UncertainLuna, Modern Fairytale AU After making a deal with a certain old woman, Shiki had to figure out how to spend the next seven days living inside her best friend's body, soon after, she meets a cat who can talk, looks like another boy her age also had made a deal with the same old hag and had to spend the next seven days as a cat instead. If TWEWW focuses on a lot of characters at once, then this fic primarily focuses on Neku and Shiki and pretty much revolves around them.

Starstruck by UncertainLuna, AU. Neku is a P.I. tasked to investigate a stalker case surrounding the popular idol, Eri of Reaper Entertainment, whose actual identity is Shiki Misaki. Soon he finds himself helping her for far more than just her initial issue; namely finding a way to break her out of her agency's mistreatment.

Reaper's Prey by Elenya, reaper Neku AU, Shiki is just an ordinary shopkeeper trying to get by, a certain regular at her shop however, begins to catch her eye, why does he only buy pins everytime? What kind of job he actually has? Things get interesting when the mystery guy suddenly asks her out on a date. At the same time it happens, something seems to be... a bit off with Shibuya. Not many chapters out yet, but I already really like the concept and how it's going so far.

A New Life by UncertainLuna, after the events of Neo, Neku discovers that life in the RG had continued on as if he had never died, as his timeline was replaced by the one where he got to live a normal life after the Long Game, this includes having actually dated Shiki earlier and sharing an apartment with her. That said, their universe might be replaced, but their memories did not, and they both had to scramble to adjust to their new life where everyone in Shibuya think they've been together for a long time.

As for oneshots:

School Days by El_Tofu_San, revolves around Neku and Shiki's time at school after the original game. Fluff, lots of it.

A Tail of Love by PetildaFan, Shiki finds an injured merman at the shore, she tries to help him out, unfortunately, he's not really the easiest person to get along with.

Red Marks by El_Tofu_San, shameless fluff. Shiki decides to try on make up by a certain someone's suggestion to get ready for a dinner party. Neku also just happens to be there when it happens, what could possibly go wrong? Nothing, maybe.

The Bright Side of The Moon by AmuletMisty, Hagoromo AU. Local fisherman Neku finds a robe, a very beautiful robe, while out on a night stroll. After taking it home with him, he meets the owner of said robe, a celestial maiden, who demands him to return it to her. But he refuses. Of course, there's no way the maiden would let him off the hook that easily.

💝what is a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?

I have to talk about My Hand Was The One You Reached For here, my first ever TLOU fic. The response to it? INSANE. I came here from a fandom where, especially recently, stuff about a father-daughter relationship wasn't getting much traction, so since I was used to a small response, I wasn't really expecting anything. I first made a Tumblr post about it, again, not expecting more than a handful of notes. After all I'm a fandom newbie who only came here because of the show, I knew close to nothing about the game. And then the post got thousands of notes in a matter of hours. People were dropping their own fics in the reblogs!!! I dropped mine on ao3 and it got more kudos & comments in a single day than my most recent Titans fics got in months!!! That never happened to me before. I've had popular fics but never to this extent, never so fast. So I was absolutely blown away. Thank you guys for welcoming me so kindly 🥹

Since I'm currently splitting my writing time between two fandoms, right now I don't have anything started for The Last of Us, but I can list the ideas I will be working on once I'm done working on my Titans ideas.

Ellie forgives Joel by writing a song about it, based on Back to December by Taylor Swift - but before I get to that I want to watch the gameplay of tlou2 and torture myself since I don't know the full story. For science.

Ellie overhears the word "adoption" at school and asks Joel to explain it to her.

Another dancing fic, something based in Jackson, though I don't have a clear picture of it yet. Although I'm thinking about the kitchen. You know, another T Swift lyrics, dancing in the refrigerator light.

As for Titans, I'm currently in the process of writing the last two chapters of my newest multi-chapter Acrida, which is a time travel fic that can cause you a baby fever 🤭 but come on, which fictional father we all know and love would pass on a chance to go back in time and get to know his adopted kid when they were just a tiny little baby? There's some angst though, I actually wrote the heaviest scene today and I spent a good ten minutes crying. But I'll be keeping that under wraps and instead share something sweet.

The snowflakes falling around them became bigger. Few of them settled on his hair, one dropping right onto his nose and that was a game changer; Rachel's eyes grew round like dinner plates, lips forming a tiny ooh as she swatted at it with her hand.

"What's that?" Dick gasped, his eyes as wide as hers. "Snow? You like snow?"

She blinked at him a few times, entranced by the sound of his voice. Then she broke into a giggle, twisting in his arms as she laughed.

Dick tucked her closer to himself, laughing as well. She was the sweetest child, her sparkling personality already shining through, and her baby laugh could easily have the power to clear the sky off the heaviest clouds.

💘Is there any posted fic you want to rework/re-edit/re-write?

I once had this thought to rewrite my earliest fics because reading them made me cringe and I know I would have done them better now when I'm more experienced. But I decided against it because it shows the progress I've made as a writer, how much I've actually learned. So they'll stay cringe. If y'all want to binge my fics, start from the bottom so they get better instead of getting worse lol 😂

There's one though, where I only realized the issue recently. There's this collab AU fic for Titans I wrote with a friend. Huge thing, our best work to date, HIGHLY RECOMMEND READING (shameless self promo but fuck it we ballin) it's called Wicked Game. Recently, we started developing a sequel. Nothing written yet, only brainstorming and exchanging notes for now, but I realized recently that damn we really fucking put ourselves into a corner with that epilogue 🫣🤭

Between Space - The Umbrella Academy It was based on a prompt of what if Five is the cause of the apocalypse and him basically erasing his existence to save everyone else

Hmm I mean generally I try to wrap things up nice and neat with a big bow so they mostly have happy endings. Maybe we'll just say In the middle of the night because its a fluffy one shot where Jamie gets a cuddle and fun fact its also a fanfic of a fanfic kudos to @asteria-argo who's brilliant fic Counting Sheep inspired it

Not really, I don't have a massive audience so my comments are usually very lovely

I don't! Nothing again it just not something I can see myself writing, but hey never say never!

I don't start things and leave them unfinished, it would really stress me out to do that lol its why I write a lot of one shots

CONCENTRATING! Oh my gosh! If I could actually fucking concentrate guys I would be churning out novel length fics like you wouldn't believe! I'm writing in my head all day long but the second I sit down to physically write I cannot focus for the life of me

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I am a native English speaker and its my only language as much as I would love to learn another one, so except for maybe one or two words to keep a character IN character for which I would use google, then I'd steer clear.

ooooh is it shameless self promo to say the one I'm currently writing is probably my favourite? Its unpublished as of yet but its for Ted Lasso and its called We're all waving flags and yeah I'm finding the writing process for it very fun and cathartic

being sick means being treated like a baby. levi would do everything for you. cooking, cleaning, laundry, setting your clothes to be ready when you step out of the shower, drying your hair if you feel too sore. he will have you resting in bed all day or on the couch with a blanket, cuddled up with you and playing your favorite show/movie. he’d help you get to the bathroom if you really need it.

throughout the day, he would make tea with a bit of ginger or honey to soothe your throat, also because it helps you relax. will force you to take medicine, even if you dont feel like it. and depending on the severity of the sickness, if you’re not able to lift yourself up, he’ll help you bathe and he doesnt give a damn about getting sick himself.

then when you’re all better and now he’s sick, hes such a big baby and in denial about it or needing help XD

Levi would ensure you stay in bed and only get up if you need to use the toilet. He does everything for you and you have to tell and remind him that you are capable of doing everything on your own.

"Bullshit," Levi says as he scoops some congee into a spoon, blowing on it gently before bringing it to your mouth. "You're sick and you should remain in bed because that's what a good patient does." Levi scowls as he feeds you the congee, making sure you swallow properly before feeding you another mouthful.

"B-but, I'm bored to death, Levi, I've been in bed all day..." you sulked as Levi passed you a glass of water with a straw, letting you drink water easily.

"Fine, we'll watch a movie later, okay? But you need to take a nap first." Levi relented and you gladly nodded your head. When you finished your congee, Levi feeds you your medicine and watches you sleep. He gently brushes your hair and rubs your back, pulling you closer into his embrace as he accompanies you to dreamland.

When you wake up from your nap, Levi kept to his promise and allows you choose a movie to watch. The both of you cuddle under the warm blankets and instead of popcorn, Levi sliced some fruits for snacks instead. Halfway through, you dozed off and lay your head on Levi's shoulder.

"Hey," Levi gently tapped you. "Wake up, you have to take your shower first before you sleep." You rubbed your eyes, still drowsy from your medication. Instead of telling him you were tired, you let out a yawn instead. Sighing, Levi scooped you underneath his arms and carried you to the bathroom, setting you on top of the toilet seat. Levi slowly removed your layers and gave you a sponge bath, making sure the temperature of the water was just right. Levi also brought you a new change of clothes and carried your sleepy self back to bed.

As you got comfortable under the blankets, Levi came back with a warm glass of honey lemon.

"Drink this, it's good for your throat," Levi hands you the glass with a slight cough.

"Wait, are you falling sick?" Your eyes widened, afraid that you passed Levi the sick bug. Levi coughed again.

"My throat's itchy. Drink that, it's not effective when it's cold." Levi urges you to drink the warm honey lemon while it was his turn to take a shower. When he returned, Levi saw the empty glass by the bedside table and you snuggling into your bolster.

"Good girl." Levi whispers as he kisses your forehead, turning off the lights as he joined you in bed.

When you recover, it was Levi's turn to fall sick. Yet, being the stoic and 'cool guy' he think he is, Levi refuses to see a doctor, or to let you take care of him.

"I-I'm fine—achoo!" Levi sneezes midway while you were talking to him. With the blankets pulled up to his jaw, Levi turned his back towards you, refusing to let you see him weak.

"Aw, come on Levi, don't be a baby. Let me take care of you okay?" You whined, rolling on the bed to meet face to face with Levi. His nose was red and his eyes were a little watery.

"Please, Levi? Hmm?" You looked at him with the best imitation of the puppy-eye that you could manage, and Levi closed his eyes.

"Tch, f-fine—achoo!" Levi blew his nose on a piece of tissue. "Only just for today." You giggled, slowly helping Levi to sit upwards to feed him a bowl of chicken soup. Although Levi said it was just for today, you knew what he meant was that he will let you take care of him until he recovers.
