(or: a human starts courting Seokjin in the middle of a supermarket - he is determined to do his very best in return while Yoongi has no idea what he has just started)

His only goals are to relax, and try to find his spark again. When he rescues a naked man on the beach, Seokjin couldn’t have predicted what he was in for. But an accidentally acquired husband in the form of soft, impish selkie Yoongi might be just what Seokjin needs.

But Yoongi is stubborn on good days and a downright pain in the ass on bad ones, and after three more times shooting down Seokjin’s attempts to talk about it, Seokjin decides to do what any self-respecting man would: He talks to his girlfriend about it. (Or: College AU where Yoongi writes an unhinged pining song, and Seokjin just can't get it out of his head.)

Recommendation: Yoonjin is a perennial favorite ship of mine - they have a comfortable relationship (usually) built on mutual respect and affection. This idol-verse fic is focused on probably the best conceit I’ve seen in this ship - everyone thinks that Seokjin is straight because no one bothered to ask, and the issue doesn’t come to a head until Yoongi starts bringing men home after the BBMA performance. It’s a good length, solidly written, and I think one of the better characterizations of Jin.

i love a good trope, and what can i say? this was wildly enjoyable! the worldbuilding and plot were amazing, and this is the kind of feel-good slow burn i need more of in my life. i wouldn't exactly call this fluff, but it *is* gratifying to see yoongi slowly fall in love with jin in this one.

summary:

Jeon Seokjin has exactly four weeks to stop the impending engagement of his younger brother, doomed to a loveless marriage. The only way to stop it is to make a better match, more advantageous, more lucrative for the Jeon family. It's impossible. It's his only option.

Min Yoongi does not want, will never want, will never ever even consider, marriage. It's not in the cards. He's stubborn enough to achieve the total ban on marriage talks. Except maybe his grandmother is a little more stubborn than he is, and maybe she's determined to see him march down the aisle.

The chaebol arranged marriage au that exactly one and a half people asked for.
