characters: Ezio Auditore
☾ ⋆゚  MASTERLIST / RULES / TAGLIST FORM

Older Ezio would definitely not feel the need to ask any questions as he travelled quite a bit and it would be very surprising for him to not have learned about the significance of a hijab in that time so he really doesn't bat an eye, understands the hijab's importance to you and respects you without a single question asked
Ezio's a very friendly and extroverted guy in his youth so I think that he would approach people as potential friends, regardless of their appearance or way of dressing (so let's imagine you meet Ezio in his youth while you were staying in Firenze for this one)
He would want to tour you around his favourite places of his beloved city, perhaps try to warm you up to him by buying you a gift from the market and he befriends you this way, the two of you continuing to spend time together
He asks about the hijab eventually and he's very open minded and accepting of the fact that your faith gives you the choice to wear the hijab for Allah - it's not exactly an unfamiliar concept to him as Italy was very Catholic at the time and nuns veil for similar reasons
Eventually, your birthday was coming up and he wanted to get you a gift so, with Claudia's help (because he wanted a girl's opinion lol) he got you a bouquet of flowers and some pins and clips that he picked out to match the colours he'd already seen you wear and any signature jewellery that you might have

Complete Crack but...Johnny Cage from mortal combat meets AC? I'm sure Altair and Ratonhnhaké:ton would probably find him annoying lol Ezio might find him funny.
I see your Mortal Kombat x Assassin’s Creed Crack and raise you:
“Johnny Cage meets Desmond’s ancestors as Desmond’s new boyfriend” XD
Maybe this would be like a modern day AU and, since Mortal Kombat does deal with the whole ‘there are a thousand realms out there’, we can easily make this work by saying that this modern day AU is set in either EarthRealm of MK or a whole different realm altogether.
Anyway, the idea would be that Johnny Cage is still a famous actor who just happens to frequent the bar Desmond works at and they get to talking, maybe it even starts off as a hush-hush friends-with-benefits kind of deal that ends up having feelings.
So now, Altaïr, Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton have to meet their cousin’s first serious relationship and it turns out to be Johnny freaking Cage of all people!
Unorganized Notes:
Johnny’s meeting Desmond’s cousins because, as far as Desmond is concerned, his real family is his cousins and not the ‘dad we do not talk about’.
Johnny would definitely understand what Desmond isn’t saying. He had a bad father too (understatement) so Desmond doesn’t really need to explain it to him and Desmond is grateful for it.
Because of this, the cousins would be quite hard on Johnny with Ezio being the ‘kindest’ of the three. That means Ezio is the scariest of the three though since he’s hiding his ‘hostility’ with his air of charm.
They’re all still Assassins but Desmond technically isn’t. In the eyes of the Brotherhood, his cousins compose one cell and he’s pretty much just family. The Brotherhood does become a bit ansty once words get out of some random bartender being seen as Johnny Cage’s plus-one in events. Some even ‘suggests’ that the cousins sabotage Desmond’s relationship but they all grow quiet when they get glared and threatened because, as much as they think Johnny isn’t enough and Desmond could definitely do better, they will accept him for as long as Desmond loves him.
Cassie Cage exists and she absolutely loves reminding her dad that Desmond is just a few years older than her. She gets a lot of selfies with Desmond and her followers love them because of how charmingly awkward Desmond’s smiles are in the pictures. The candid shots of Desmond’s professional bartender smile though gets lots of love as well… for different reasons.
It would be funny if this is set in MK world and, yeah, the Brotherhood operates there and Desmond’s ancestors are his cousins BUT…
Desmond himself is the Desmond Miles we know from the AC games that have been transported into MK’s Desmond Miles’ body after he activated the device in the Grand Temple. Bonus points if he gets transferred to the MK world via memory transfer that MK Desmond Miles remembered on December 21st when he was 25. Like, he’s both AC and MK world’s Desmond Miles and the only reason why this isn’t such a big deal is because Desmond is so chill by whatever fuckery gets thrown his way now.
This also gives us a bit of angst material as Desmond wants his cousins to approve Johnny because his cousins (for him) are also the three most important men in Desmond Miles’ lives back in the AC world so it would mean the world to him.
Btw… considering Spawn was a guest character for both MK and Soul Caliber and Ezio is a guest star of Soul Caliber, we can make an argument that MK, Soul Caliber, Spawn’s world and AC world are all ‘connected’. XD

Another Assassin's creed time travel fix idea.
Desmond in Ezio's time. Except before the Auditores get shanked. Like Ezio is on his who am I, what is my purpose, who are you, Desmond, give me a sign stage and Desmond is, you know, in the midst of burning for the Eye and the whole save the world thing.
He appears before Ezio, who really hadn't expected a sign and was thus very surprised, like "hey, you did a good job, Prophet". And he knows Ezio has a lot of questions, and why not, he's between time at the moment, he can answer a few of them, so he goes, "what is your heart's desire" or something, thinking that Ezio's going to ask about his purpose or if the world was saved or something.
And Ezio is! Only, there's a brief moment where Ezio thinks of the impossible, and Desmond has the Pieces and he knows that Ezio had thought of and more importantly, he has lived Ezio's life.
"My Lord, is the world saved?" Ezio asks.
But Desmond shakes his head and he's dead and not now, and he's tired, and Ezio is there, and he has all this power, why can't he make someone happy-
"A boon," Desmond says, and places the Staff on Ezio's head.
There's a bright flare, and then Ezio wakes up to clear skies and a body that does not ache and he sits up and glances around and recognizes the rooftops of Firenze.
And below, on the streets, are the unmistakable figures of his brother and father, speaking in low voices on the way to the bank.
Impossible.
He glances to his side, and there, curled up, is the shape of a child - barely older than a babe, less than a handful of years old - with Desmond's features shrunken down.
Ezio thinks of Maria and God in human form, pressed into the shape of a babe, and believes.

Soft strands of sunlight crests over the city walls, dusting over the roof slates in a golden sheen. It’s beautiful and tranquil, the starlight fading overhead into hues of gentle light. Early dawn has you feeling cold, a little uncomfortable under the brisk air. Monteriggioni feels quiet beneath the sway of your feet, the small city silent with sleep. Ezio barely breathes - and when he does, it’s relaxed, the motion slow. He’s, somehow, not quite what you imagined and yet everything all at once. Quiet. For all the charismatic clamor you see him with, he watches over the city with a sense of calm that Claudia has never spoken of.
Aristocratic nose, fine cheekbones and firm jawline, Ezio was without a doubt a cut of the finest cloth. Boisterous. Loud. Everything you’ve heard spoken about him - and even seen him act. This is a tender side you didn’t know existed, hidden beneath swaths of fine armour and silky fabric. Looking at him as you do now, his presence almost muted beside you on the rooftop, he seems more man than myth. Gentler, almost, even with the garment of metal strapped to his wrists.
Despite all the armour he typically wears, the imposing and broad figure he cuts, he’s everything but. You’ve seen him out and about, moving along the rooftops and city walls, scrounging for feathers - you still didn’t quite understand that— and tending to mundane jobs. He’s even swept out an arm to guide children back to their feet after a tumble to the street. Which happens a fair bit, even to a young child from your extended family.
Thing is, while it happens a fair amount - Ezio is there to stop it. Always visiting, moving between houses and tending to the people with a spirit and jubilance that you haven’t even seen the Lord cherish the town with. He loves it like his own, a home far from his birthright.
You don’t know much about Ezio’s past, only gleaned some of it from gossip and from Claudia. Even that isn’t enough. Enough would be to hear it from his own lips, to have the man himself explain. But, the strange thing is, despite all the good tidings he gives to the town, when he’s alone with you like this, he grows somber. A million miles away, lost in a world you can’t comprehend.
Other days it’s good. He tends to you like every other townsperson in Monteriggioni, making sure you have everything you need. You’re not even sure how spending time with Ezio like this even happened - what you did to make him choose you. There are many ladies who express an interest in him, many soldiers who want privy into his skills. But he chooses you, takes you for strolls and stops first thing at your market stall when new produce is brought in.
Today is not one of those days.
“I am sorry,” he says then, voice hard in the growing daylight. Not because he’s harsh - never is— but because that’s just how his words sound. “My mind is … quite occupied today.”
“It’s okay,” you breathe out, because it is. It’s okay. You don’t question where his mind goes.
There’s a long moment of silence before Ezio quietly elaborates, “It is close to my Christening day.”
“Oh-” You pause and consider his tone. “I’m sorry.”
His expression twitches then, mirth dancing in his eyes, dark eyebrows knitting together. A small smile plays across his handsome face, fingers spreading across his thigh. “Thank you.” He laughs, an unused sound that rests deep in his throat. “Ah, I’m sure you’ve already heard of Claudia arranging a party, no?” Your pinched expression gives you away and his laugh deepens, eyes turning away.
“She wanted it to be a secret-” You stop yourself there by instinct. But Ezio doesn’t interrupt, he never has. He’s attentive that way, always listening to what you have to say, even if it’s about the soil or the worms in your garden. “You weren’t supposed to know about it.” “She always tries to make it a surprise,” Ezio responds, eyes tender as he looks at you.
“And yet you know of it anyway.” There’s a twitch of his scarred mouth when you speak.
“Mm.” He gives a slow nod of his head, leaning back, brown hair moving from his shoulder to spill over his back instead. Ezio closes his eyes, the hazy sunlight moving across his face as it climbs into the sky. “Has anyone invited you?”
“The whole town is going.”
“Yes, I imagine.” Ezio laughs slightly then. “I’m inviting you as my guest.” It feels like it should be a profound statement - something awe inspiring or an utterance to make you gasp. It doesn’t. Instead, all you feel is a low seeping warmth that touches the tip of your toes. You look down, swaying you feet over the edge of the roof. Ezio isn’t saying it to be polite - there’s something about the way he speaks and acts with you that makes you feel like he’s genuine.
“Thank you,” you say after a moment. “That’d be great.”
Ezio says nothing to that, though you can feel his eyes turn from you back towards the city at your feet. An emotional eclipse washes over you and you’re left feeling cold. Every moment with Ezio is like this - inviting, like summer days and fireflies. Like he sees who you are and accepts it.
There’s nothing for a long moment, just you and Ezio and the slow march of time. Dew glistens on the lower tiles, the rough texture cold beneath your palms. “Thank you for going,” he says - and the way he says it makes it feel more profound than it originally sounds. Like it matters to him, like your presence is something he basks in.
You look at him, at his battle worn features, weary lines smoothing into something almost peaceful. He needs moments like this, you realize. Needs it like you do - the companionship, the ease from everyday life. The slow, quiet mornings, the yawning pull of life. An insurmountable, insignificant second of life - every second that amounts to something more. Because he exists, you exist, and this moment exists.
“I wouldn’t be anywhere else,” you promise, meaning every word of it. You enjoy these mornings with him just as much as he does.

First of all I just wanted to thank you for letting me know your requests were open. It makes me so happy to see people still giving Ezio the love he deserves! I don’t usually go for a lot of the more cliche lover tropes but I can’t stop thinking of Childhood best friend Ezio x reader.
What comes to mind is reader and Ezio having a strained relationship prior to his family’s execution due to readers newfound romantic feelings for Ezio and his infatuation with Christina. But once Ezio’s world is flipped on its axis after the murder of his father and brothers that he would seek reader’s help and comfort as he escapes Florence and trains to become an assassin.
I think at first he would be too shaken up and focused on revenge but after a while he would come to realize that he likes the reader. Maybe he would confess then, or perhaps after he kills Uberto.
It’s up to you to decide how you want to write all of this and what format (if you choose this request at all). You definitely don’t have to use my ideas if you don’t want to either, honestly I’d just love to see any type of Ezio x childhood best friend reader content. Thank you so so much for opening requests and for reading this 💗
Speaking my language with the Ezio angst!!! I need moar 💕💔
MASTERLIST 10
Tumblr media
You cared for Ezio so much and it hurts. Growing up close with the Auditores was filled with the happiest memories of you, Frederico, Ezio and Claudia together, welcoming Petruccio, but your feelings always ran different with Ezio.
It left you dismayed at the unrequited feelings, and you felt your heart shatter when you heard of his late escapades of getting chased out with Christina.
Yet nothing could prepare you for the tragedy that struck when you heard of what happened to Giovanni and his two sons, your closest friends. There wasn’t time to grieve as you would have liked now that targets were on you and your family’s back, and you had to leave much of what you knew behind.
Only you didn’t expect to see Ezio at the same place of refuge at the end of things. He mentions that he was able to send a final goodbye to his father (with the help of Christina) but you ignore the pangs at your heart. You mourn along with him at the loss of the life you once knew together.
Being friends of friends (or family) of Assassins come with the perks of protection, but nothing you know of is ever the same again. Getting adjusted to your new life leads to unexpectedly wielding a blade, despite the constant wounds
Still, Ezio is there to see you grow and change as you both reach your respective milestones well into adulthood.
When Leonardo comes to see you both, it’s a much needed reprieve you didn’t realize you needed. A sense of normalcy despite all the heartbreak, and you realize how much you miss Ezio’s smile whenever you laugh at each other’s jokes.
Things feel…different. Upheavals so young and facing through them together does bring you closer. You and Ezio talk of the nightmares, seeking revenge, but try not to forget the good times as well.
In his quest against those who wronged him and his family, Ezio still thinks of you. You bring a tether and one close to him who knows what he’s feeling, going through.
There was one time you swore you felt him kiss you when you fell asleep at one of the desks, but you never brought it up since
Still, you heard of the visits he had with Christina and you didn’t think it would still affect you but jealousy works in mysterious ways. The day he lost her was the day you saw something shift in him, beyond the grief and pain from before.
He’s more urgent, stringent on whenever you go on missions or gather intel, and always wants to be by your side. Even Claudia begins to notice the change in her brother
It starts to annoy you at first, Ezio always hovering around you and whenever another person (let alone man) talks to you
“Ezio, this has gone on far too long now! Why are you always hovering near me?!”
“BECAUSE I WONT LOSE ANOTHER! Not those I CARE about!”
Speechless.
You don’t have anything to retort, especially since he still has more to say
“I’ve lost more than enough in one lifetime, and I can’t lose you too. I care for you…maybe even more than that.”
You can only hug him for now, but come the next day there’s still more to say

Tumblr media
The wind whistled lowly through the alley I crouched in as I counted my day’s worth of findings. I shook the florins into my hand, trying not to grab the attention of passersby. Counting money wasn’t a crime, but had I been lucky, the total would’ve been incredibly suspicious.
But unfortunately, the victims of my shenanigans that day must not have been as wealthy as I would’ve liked, because I hadn’t even come close to my goal. I grumbled softly as I spilled my findings back into my leather purse, pulling the strings taut before stowing it in my shirt.
Findings, plunder, dirty money, call it what you want.
I rose to my feet with little enthusiasm; I didn’t like going home without hitting my target. Maybe on my way back I could sneak a couple more florins, just for the satisfaction. I’d have enough to buy something substantial for breakfast the next morning before starting up my escapades once again.
Peeking out of the alley, I joined the crowds with the smallest movements possible, careful to avoid the attentive gazes of any nearby guards as we headed into the town square. The sun sank lower in the sky as I shifted through the streets, jumping from group to group, never walking alone. People were quick to recognize a pickpocket, and if I ran into anyone I’d previously preyed on, my small collection from the day would be the least of my problems.
Shopkeepers all around were packing down their stalls, and travelling doctors were packing up their equipment. No doubt they all had families or friends to go home to, wives to complain to their customers about, frustrating children who took up their personal space, neighbours who intruded at the most inconvenient times. They must consider themselves so unfortunate, and yet I’d give anything to be in their shoes, instead of going ‘home’ to an abandoned, dilapidated gondola. I sighed heavily and shifted from the crowded town square into a narrower street, gently pushing aside an obnoxious minstrel as I went.
Only to stumble upon two figures dueling around three corpses.
I ran and grabbed a ledge nearby, hoisting myself up to avoid the clashing swords as the two of them moved up and down the alley with ease, their swords still swinging back and forth. I crouched and observed in stunned silence; one of the figures, garbed in a white, flowing cloak, appeared to be gaining the advantage over the other, who, upon closer inspection, I recognized as a guard, as were the bodies sprawled over the path. This guy appeared to be in over his head.
“It's a good thing I needed an excuse to test out this new blade of mine,” the mysterious man remarked. “I must be lucky, stumbling upon an eager idiot like you.”
I was shocked to hear the confident tone coming from the cloaked figure. He sounded young, but bold, and his wisecrack didn’t slow him in his advances.
“I wouldn’t call a man who lost his father and brother in one fell swoop ‘lucky’,” the guard sniggered in retort, and the cloaked figure’s strikes became swifter and even more aggressive as he growled lowly, “Fottiti, bastardo!”
The guard stumbled back, and the vigilante didn’t miss a beat; sheathing his sword with one hand and drawing a short blade with his other, he grabbed the guard’s shirt front with his now free left hand and spun him round, wrapping his arm around his neck. He held the blade to the man’s throat, his hood keeping his face out of my sight.
“Please,” the guard whimpered, “have mercy on me!”
The cloaked figure shrugged. “Va bene,” he relented, before sliding the dagger clean across his gullet. “I’ll make it quick.”
The guard crumpled to the ground, a few strangled moans escaping his mouth before he went silent. The cloaked figure knelt and wiped his blade on the guard’s shirt, and he snuck his hand into the leather pouch at the waist, withdrawing a few florins with a smirk.
Only then did I realize my mouth had been agape as I’d watched, and a short involuntary noise of shock flew out before I could shut it. The man spun round to face me, holding his dagger in a defensive position as he looked me up and down.
“Merda,” he murmured somewhat nervously. “What do you want? What are you doing here?”
“I- I-” I stammered, but before I could come up with an answer, he was on the ledge next to me in two or three steps.
“I didn’t even see you sneak in here,” he said, tilting his head like he was trying to figure out a puzzle. “You sly devil; were you sent to spy on me?”
“No, no, not at all,” I hurriedly assured him, my hands raised slightly, afraid he might not believe me. “I swear, this is my route home and I stumbled upon your little conflitto, and I did not wish to interrupt.”
He raised an eyebrow at me. “Conflitto, hm? You think that’s all it was?”
He acted as if he wanted me to call him out. “What, are you some kind of dangerous criminal? Or did they call you bambino and hurt your feelings?”
He inhaled sharply and stepped toward me, and suddenly I lost my newly-found confidence and raised my hands once again. “Just a joke, just a joke!” I protested, and gave a short laugh as if to prove it. He rolled his eyes and turned away from me, climbing down from the ledge.
I blinked in confusion. “Y- You’re just gonna walk away?”
“I have better things to do than entertain a little intelligentone who’s up past their bedtime,” he replied without turning his head. “I’m going home.”
I was no longer impressed by this guy; now, he was getting on my nerves. I jumped down after him, and before he could turn to face me, I snuck his stiletto out of its place in his belt, slipping it complacently into my own.
“What do you want, birbante?” he demanded roughly, swinging something around on his finger by the drawstring.
My leather purse. How the hell-
“Give me back my blade and you can have your dirty money, fair and square.” He held his hand out patiently, and I handed him the dagger with little hesitation, reaching for the purse. He smirked at my desperation, and I scowled. “You think you’re clever, hm, furfante? You want to play a little game?”
I couldn’t say I liked the patronizing tone he’d taken on, but after that stunt, his proposition was enticing. I wanted to know what else this mysterious and strangely dressed young man had up his sleeve.
“All right,” I relented. “What did you have in mind?”
He turned to face the town square behind us, his gaze settling on the tallest building, and he nodded to himself. “I want you to race me to the top of that building.”
I blinked once again, but I let the moment of hesitation pass. “Sure,” I agreed, folding my arms confidently. I had no doubt this man was incredibly agile, but I was not going to back down after he challenged me like I was a toddler.
He cracked his knuckles and smirked at me. “On my count, then.” He took a deep breath and shook out his legs and arms in preparation. “One, two-”
“Three!” I could not possibly have resisted the opportunity; I took off, leaving him in the dust and reaching the base of the tower in seconds. Leaping up and grabbing a small outcrop with both hands, I resisted the temptation to look down and check his progress. I reached up with smug satisfaction, sure that my surprise was enough of a headstart to ensure my victory.
Until a light grunt a few palms away from me startled me out of my reverie.
He was not climbing, but rather, leaping; as he flew up from each perch, he reached for the next, clasping with both hands and using his incredible upper body strength to hoist himself up.
Unlike me, he was unable to resist the urge; he snuck a peek down at me and sent a charming smirk my way before resuming his ascent.
I groaned in frustration when I realized I’d come to a complete stop to watch his method. I continued climbing, reaching for anything I could get a decent grip on. I was fast, but nowhere near fast enough; by the time my blistered hands had gotten me half-way, he was dangling his legs over the edge of the top, watching me with his chin in his palm and his elbow resting on his thigh.
“You’re like a little mouse,” he taunted. “You scurry, but ever so slow! If I’d known you were going to take so long, I’d have brought some bread and wine up with me; I’m starving up here.”
“Maybe I did this on purpose, then, to give you a taste of my life,” I retorted bitterly. “Not everyone can just go around murdering soldiers when they want to break the law.”
As I pulled myself up the last few arms and up onto an overhang, he narrowed his eyes at me. “You think I was fighting because I had to steal food?”
I shrugged slightly as I crawled carefully over to where he sat on the edge. “How should I know? I just met you.”
He grunted. “Fair point.” Sighing deeply, he added, “It’s far more complicated than that, I’m afraid.”
Unsure of what to say, I nodded slowly, waiting to see if he would continue.
“My name is Ezio,” he explained. “Ezio Auditore.”
I recognized the name. After a moment of contemplation, I remembered where from; two men by that name had been hanged a few weeks ago, for a crime I could not recollect.
“My family was falsely accused of treason,” he added, as if reading my thoughts. “I seek to avenge them. That is all you need to know.” He looked so sad as he finished this statement that I felt a twinge of pity for him, forgetting our petty competition. I had no doubt he was telling the truth.
“Well, I live in an abandoned gondola and I steal money from people,” I said, “so, if that makes you feel any better...”
He chuckled lightly, and smiled at me; the gesture filled me with a warmth I had not felt in years; something like what I’d felt when my mother or father would smile at me, but, a little different.
Before I could express any sort of feeling, he rose to his feet, dusting himself off. “Well, topolino,” he said, “this was fun. We should meet again and have a rematch someday.”
I laughed. “Topolino, hm? That’s quite an upgrade from birbante.”
He grinned mischievously, tousling my hair and filling my stomach once again with warm butterflies. “Like I said,” he whispered, “like a little mouse.”
He wrapped his cloak tighter around himself, perching on the overhang I’d pulled myself up on earlier. Turning back for one last look at me, he beamed and winked at me, before leaping over the edge.
My jaw dropped as he disappeared, but I breathed a sigh of relief at the sound of his body hitting a wheelbarrow full of hay below. I peeked over to watch him sprint away, already missing his charming aura, wily as it was.
Reluctantly, I began my descent, wondering if I’d ever see the hooded vigilante ever again.

Hi I hope you are well. I have a question for you. How do you think Desmond would react being flung back to Rome, 1500 (AC Brotherhood) shortly before Ezio arrived? Extra layer is he is sixteen again.
SAY LESS OMG but I kind of want Ezio to find Desmond right as he gets flung back when hes the most confused and still figuring everything out. For drama!
"Desmond, don't listen to her! She wants to trick you!" Minerva called out.
"If I don't the world will burn!" I countered.
"Better to burn then unleash her onto it."
Juno spoke up. "Desmond, this is the only way!"
She was right. The world was crumbling around us, the earth shook violently, nearly throwing me to the ground. There was no other choice. I needed to stop this.
I turned to my friends. "Get as far away as you can!"
My dad grabbed my shoulder. "No, we'll find another way-"
I cut him off. "There's no time. Go now!" I yelled at them.
He gave me a pained look; I could tell he wanted to argue, to drag me from the temple, but we both knew. I needed to do this, so the earth would be saved, so they would be saved.
He gave me one final hug, before quickly turning to push Rebecca and Shaun out of the temple.
I turned back to the eye.
"Don't do this Desmond!" Minerva cried.
"You have to!" Juno shouted.
I took a deep breath, hovering my hand over the eye. I knew I wasn't getting out of this; this was the end of my story.
"I'm sorry Minerva." I pressed my hand down on the eye.
The last thing I heard was Minerva crying out "Wait Desm-"
I was enveloped in pain; I felt my body burning from the inside out. My hand tried to pull away from the eye, but I couldn't. My hand was stuck to the eye.
Everything around me began to fade away. Soon even the pain faded away. I was left with nothing, floating in an emptiness forever.
I don't know how long I stayed like that, but soon a voice that seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere spoke up.
"No, it's not right. He needs more time." The voice echoed. It sounded old, older than the earth. Older than the stars.
A new voice spoke up, but this one sounded like a young child, full of innocence and purity. "Then change it."
"But what to do with him?" The old voice asked.
"Put him with something familiar, he deserves it after all."
The old voice hummed in thought. "I know, how about this?"
With that, my entire world change, I could see, smell, and fuck feel again. While the void was peaceful, it wasn't me.
I gasped clutching my side, as I doubled over. My hand connected with stone. I felt like I had just woken up from a millennia long nap, my limbs felt numb. I looked down at my hand on the stone beneath me. It felt familiar?
I looked up, I was in an alleyway. Just outside of the alley was a bustling market. Everyone was dressed like it was the 1500s. Was this some kind of renaissance fair?
I looked down at my body, I was still in my jeans and hoodie, but they either grew, or I shrunk.
"What happened?" I muttered to myself. My voice was raspy like I hadn't drunken water for a month. I looked down at my body, something was different. I noticed my limbs were lankier and more awkward. I was also much skinnier and shorter than before. I also noticed my hair was longer, much longer. It covered my eyes making it slightly difficult to see.
Just then someone walked past the alley. His voice grabbed my attention.
"Machiavelli, we need the trust of the people."
I froze, looking up. It couldn't be...
Just a few feet ahead of me, was Ezio Auditore, speaking to Machiavelli. I blinked, then blinked again.
"Ezio?" I muttered out loud. It was barely audible.
Ezio glanced down the alley, his eyes landing on me. He quickly whispered something to Machiavelli before starting towards me.
My mind was racing. What do I do? Do I run, do I scream, do I ignore him?
before I could figure out what to do, he was in front of me, he crouched down next to me.
"Hey, are you alright?" He asked.
"U-um, yeah, j-just fell..."
"That cut doesn't look like a fall." He said while pointing to my lip.
I was suddenly aware of the pain on the left side of my face. I reached up a hand, wincing as I felt the cut. It was fresh, it then dawned on me. This was the same cut that I got when I was sixteen. But how had it reopened?
"I'll be fine." I said as I tried to stand up. I had to use the wall for support. My legs nearly gave out from under me.
Ezio quickly pressed a hand against my back, steading me.
"Your clothes are... different. Not from here?"
I silently cursed. If I was right and this was the 1500s, of course they wouldn't have jeans and hoodies.
"Um, no." I said as I began to make my way out of the alley.
Ezio stood in front of me before I could get any farther. "That cut does not look good, you should see a doctor."
I reached up a hand, blood continued to poor out of the cut, making me lightheaded. I should go to a doctor, but I had no money.
"I don't have money." I mumbled.
Ezio glanced around. "Well, I'm new to the city as well, so why don't we go meet up with my friend and find a doctor."
I paused for a moment. Walking with Ezio and Machiavelli could allow me to clear my head and help me figure out what the hell was going on.
I decided to take Ezio up on his offer, I nodded.
"Alright, c'mon." Ezio said while leading me out of the alley back towards Machiavelli, who was looking rather impatient.
Machiavelli, stood with his arms crossed, while tapping his foot.
"Are you finally done?" He asked impatiently.
Ezio just sighed. "Do you know where a doctor is, he's injured."
Machiavelli looked me up and down, clearly staring at my clothes.
I fumbled with my sleeve. I was now suddenly aware of the fact that my hidden blade had come with me, and the only thing that was hiding it was my sleeve.
He sighed, turning back to Ezio. "None that the Borgia will let us use."
"So, the Borgia's word is law now?" Ezio asked.
"What are you implying?"
While they talked, I looked at my surroundings. It was a crowded market near a blacksmith. I glanced to the other side, looking up. I saw a large Borgia tower looming nearby.
"And how would you even remove their influence?" Machiavelli demanded.
I spoke up. "Kill the captain, burn down the tower." I said while pointing to the nearby tower.
They both stared at me.
Ezio spoke up first. "I like his thinking." He said with a grin.
"Ezio, you can't possibly be considering this."
"I'm not considering it; I've already decided I'm going to do it." Ezio stated while beginning to make his way towards the tower.
"Do you even have a plan?" Machiavelli demanded.
"I'm improvising." He said with a shrug.
Once we made it over to the tower, Ezio turned to me.
"Kid, stay with Machiavelli."
I nodded, to tired and lightheaded to argue.
I sat down, leaning against the stable wall, I watch as Ezio disappeared into a crowd of people. Once I could no longer see him, I leaned my head against the stable wall, trying to stop my head from spinning.
What was even happening, based on my appearance, I had a pretty good hunch I was somehow sixteen again. I was also back in the 1500s. What was I going to do? Had I saved the world? Was this Minerva's doing? I had so many questions.
Machiavelli spoke up, breaking me out of my thoughts. "What's your name?"
I opened my eyes to look up at him, "Desmond."
His eyes widened a bit. "...Desmond?"
I nodded. "Hey, are you sure that there isn't a doctor nearby."
He was about to say something, but a loud explosion sounded from inside of the Borgia area.
I looked over to see Ezio leaping from a burning building into a cart full of hay.
Everyone was rushing around, panicking from the loud sound and fire. One of the Borgia guards came running out yelling "The captains dead!"
Ezio walked over to us. "I don't think the Borgia will give us any more trouble."
I stood up, bracing myself against the wall. "I think my unconscious body will give you some trouble if we don't find a doctor." I stated dryly.
Ezio looked over his shoulder, he scanned the area before his eyes lit up. "Look there's a doctor over there, let's get you patched up." He stated while helping me walk down the street.
After a long hour at the doctor, and me adamantly refusing to allow letches anywhere near me. I could finally leave.
I walked out into the street with Ezio, Machiavelli had left shortly after we made it to the doctor.
Ezio turned to me. "I never caught your name by the way."
"Desmond." I stated.
Ezio froze. "What?"
"My name is-" Then it hit me.
I silently cursed my scrambled memory. Desmond was the name Minerva spoke, the name that Desmond had thought about for most of his life.
I quickly cleared my throat. "u-um we should go find me some new clothes. my shirt is drenched in blood." I stated desperately hoping to change the topic.
I began to walk around looking for a tailor, but Ezio grabbed my shoulder, pulling me back to him.
Normally Ezio would only be about two inches taller than me. But now I was a scrawny teenager. Ezio now loomed over me, and he was quite intimidating.
"Your name is Desmond?" He questioned.
I swallowed, "Y-yeah, f-family name." I stuttered out.
He gave me a look before letting go of my shoulder. "We should go find a tailor to get you some new clothes."
I sighed, relaxing my shoulders a bit. "Yeah, we should." I said while turning away from him and beginning to make my way down the street.
I would have to be more careful with what I tell him now.
We quickly found a tailor. It was a small shop with not a lot of items, but it would have to do.
I bought a shirt, and pants that actually fit me. As I was getting changed, I looked down at my arm, and I nearly passed out.
Underneath my hidden blade, my hand and most of my forearm was completely blackened out. I quickly took off the hidden blade, to examine my arm closer. This was the hand that I had pressed onto the eye. On my knuckles were tiny circles with lines running up my arm.
I cursed, how the hell was I going to hide this. With my hoodie, it was way larger than me so I could use the sleeve to hide my arm. But now these clothes actually fit. I could hide the hidden blade, but not the discoloration. Ezio was already suspicious of me because my name was Desmond.
I sighed; guess I would just have to get some gloves and hope I can hide it until then.
I quickly strapped my blade back to my wrist, before pulling on my shirt and pants. They were quite comfortable actually.
I sighed, preparing myself. I walked out of the small dressing room. Ezio was waiting for me, chatting with the tailor.
I angled my arm so he couldn't see it. Once Ezio spotted me, he quickly walked over to me, grining.
"Now those clothes actually fit you." He stated.
I smiled, "Where too next?"
Ezio looked outside, "It is getting late, I was going to go meet up with Machiavelli. Do you have some where to stay?"
I pursed my lips. looking down at the ground.
Ezio seemed to understand. "Here, why don't I bring you with me to go meet up with Machiavelli until we find you some place to stay?"
I nodded. This way I could hopefully figure out more, and if all goes to hell, I could just find a way to convince Ezio to train me.
"Alright, let's go." Ezio stated, while directing me out of the tailor's
(This is so random but the 2 voices that were speaking right after Desmond touched the eye were meant to be the physical representations of time and wisdom, you guys can guess which is which)
