I love the concept of cuddle. Soft touching. Head scratches. Warm blanket. Tight hugs. Eye contact. Cozy space. Cute giggles. Neck kisses. Comforting silence. Peace.

I just had a random thought of all the guys hanging out and Eddie makes it known that hes very interested in Steve then Argyle following up with the same conclusion.
It’s late at night and everyone’s a little drunk so of course things are going to be said without much thought behind it.
“You know, if I was given the chance I wouldn’t mind going out with Harrington or whatever.” Eddie says randomly. Everyone one snaps their head toward him and puzzled looks follow. Steve raises his brow in confusion.
“What?” Steve blurts out as if he’s heard the most mind blowing news he’s ever. Jonathan shifts in his seat with visible disgust on his face. Argyle doesn’t say anything and he just relaxes into the couch ignoring the conversation. Eddie just shrugs nonchalantly.
“I’m just being honest and pretty sure I’m not the only one who’d say that.” Eddie gestured towards Jonathan and Argyle. Steve could see the clear disapproval on Jonathan’s face while Argyle’s was a little more harder to read. He tried to brush off what Eddie said as silence fell over them hoping that it was only a joke.
“I mean… he’s not wrong.” Argyle breaks the silence after a few seconds. Now it was Jonathan’s turn to give him a questioning look, Argyle throw his hands up while laughing. Eddie joins in with his light chuckles while Steve blushes and his body starts to get hot.
“You’re telling me you would go out with Steve?” Jonathan asks in disbelief. Argyle nods his head without hesitation.
“That’s like asking do I need air to breath. Dude, look at him it’d be crazy not to.” Argyle argued. Eddie agreed in silence and Jonathan just shook his head because he was speechless. Steve couldn’t hide the redness on his face which only led to teasing for the rest of the night and now he had some things on his mind about his friends that he shouldn’t be thinking.

I have seen the point being made that you don’t have to be in a romantic relationship for some behaviour to constitute domestic violence. I’m seeing this said with regards to Our Flag Means Death and what some people perceive as domestic abuse on Ed’s part - that him not being romantically involved with Izzy shouldn’t mean behaviour between can’t be considered domestic abuse.
It is an excellent point that in many places, the definition of domestic abuse isn’t restricted to intimate partners! It is often widened to consider any violence, coercion and emotional harm taking place within a home environment. Under this definition, children can be victims of domestic abuse by their parents, it can occur between siblings, even roommates - especially with a live-in landlord situation. And of course, the Revenge as well as being a workplace is ultimately where the characters live.
I think it’s very clear that the show is a workplace comedy about pirates, but if you want to apply the definition of violence, coercion and emotional harm within a home environment to your reading to the show, that can be done.
Of course, I would be surprised if you genuinely view it that way and still made it as far as even watching Season 2, given the way what you consider to be domestic abuse in this fictional setting happens so very often with little to no moral consequence, and is often intended to be taken as a joke.
I mean. In the very first episode, the crew talk about killing Stede, and begin to plan for this, including lighting him on fire.
Jim threatens Lucius and actually physically locks him in a small wooden box in the second episode for what seems to be quite a long time.
I think in 4, Izzy pulls on Fang’s beard and it really upsets him. He also talks pretty openly about the intention to kill the Revenge crew, though I’ll let that go at this stage since he doesn’t really live there so much as being there for the purpose of murdering them and stealing their stuff. Still, poor Fang, that looked like it hurt.
While we’re on Izzy, he does also actively try to kill Stede by stabbing him, and he then he goes and does the olde worlde equivalent of calling the cops on him on the intention of having him executed, which seems pretty fucked up on the ‘violence’ part of our DA definition but also hits pretty hard on coercive control since he’s doing this to get Ed to behave differently.
He does prevent the Navy from executing Ed, which is nice, but he does point out that he regrets this, which, ouch, emotional harm. If we’re doing real world definitions, “I should’ve let the cops I called on you murder you” is the sort of thing that would make me feel pretty fucked up. And we all know what it means when someone tells you to watch your step.
But it’s not all about Izzy! (It’s really not, guys, there’s a whole TV show here!) Buttons bites Lucius - who ends up needing the whole finger gone! And he’s a visual artist!
Even my darling man Roach tries to eat the Swede, and I’ve gotta say, I don’t think they were on that island long enough to justify murder.
And who could forget Mary?? Wonderfully written character, love her, but, she does with malice aforethought attempt to kill her spouse in his sleep with a skewer. She was right to do it, in my opinion, but y’know, even without broadening the definition beyond partner relationships, murder of your spouse is pretty classic domestic abuse.
So, y’know, the point I’m getting at really is that if your definition of domestic abuse is violence and control wherein the perpetrator and victim share a significant aspect of their lives like living space - that’s a fine definition in real life. It is the one I use, in real life. But if you apply it to Our Flag Means Death, I really don’t understand how you stomached watching the first season or why you came back for more.
And if you only apply this definition with regards to Ed’s behaviour, but not the rest of the characters, I do wonder why that might be.

The Good Place and Crowley
A while ago, someone sent an ask to Gaiman. It went as follows, “In the book, ‘Golden Girls’ was Crowley’s favorite TV show. Is that slo TV Crowley’s favorite or does he have a current TV show that he prefers?” He answered, “I think he’d love the ‘The Good Place.’”
The Good Place is one of my favorite shows. I completely understand why Crowley would like it. It has some of the best debates of the philosophy and ethics of modern day society including the afterlife. It argues that people should not be defined as good and bad. It shows that people can improve. It tells us why and how they improve.
There’s two things about Crowley that really connect him to these thoughts. 1. Crowley does not like to be defined as good(or nice). Though we haven’t really seen that include bad, I would assume that it would be the similar thought. It also might have something to do with Aziraphale saying those things specifically, but that’s another post. 2. That people are not defined by what happened to them, and that means that anyone can improve.
Crowley fell from Heaven. He fell from grace which made him demon which means that for all intents and purposes, he should be evil. But he isn’t. Crowley doesn’t ever really commit truly evil acts. Any truly evil act that Hell thinks Crowley committed, humans committed. Crowley just took the credit. Crowley likes the thought that people can change. In Hell, he sees tons of people who are awful, but he also sees people who just made some mistakes. He sees demons who are like him who don’t find joy in treating people terribly. He’s seen angels causing harm happily, but others giving away joy like lollipops.
Those two things are fundamental in the show, The Good Place. I would argue Good Omens as well. If Adam had always been treated like he was evil, he probably would have never had friends who he genuinely cared about so much so that their fear pulled him out of his power drunken state. If Aziraphale had assumed the snake was evil(if he even saw him lol), then smited him, where would Crowley and humanity be? The demon with the imagination burned to ash and humanity living with almost decision-less whilst tucked neatly within Eden’s walls. If people couldn’t improve then Shadwell would have never been able to put aside his fears and foolishness so that he could love Madame Tracy and show it. Gabriel and Beelzebub would still be planning Armageddon 2.0 if they hadn’t moved on and fell in love instead.
The Good Place reminds us of the things time and time again. Each of the four main characters get reset, and every time, in the right circumstances, they always become better people. They are also never really defined as good and bad either. At times, others try to define Eleanor as a bad person, but every time, she reminds them that, yes, maybe, she shouldn’t be in the Good Place, but at the very least, she should be in her very own Middle Place. Every time, Chidi teaches her how to become a better person(which only works, because she wants to be one) and in the process, he becomes one too. Just like Gabriel and Beelzebub.
This was way longer than I expected it to be, but here are some quotes from The Good Place and where I think they would fit into Good Omens whether that be place and time or people and relationships.
“Sometimes, when you’re feeling helpless, the secret is to help someone else. Get out of your own head. Trust me. The next time someone asks for help, say yes.” This feels like the whole of S2, specially Aziraphale with Jim and then Maggie
“If you have bills to pay and shit to deal with you don;t have time or energy to become a better person.”  The Resurrectionists in 1827 with Elspeth and Wee Morag
“If there were an answer I could give you to how the universe works, it wouldn’t;t be special. It would just be machinery fulfilling its cosmic design. It would just be a big, dumb food processor. But since nothing seems to make sense, when find something or someone that does, it’s euphoria.” All the couples in GO, but that quote right there seems to be how Crowley and Aziraphale has been holding on for so long
“I guess all I can do is embrace the pandemonium find happiness in the unique insanity of being here, now.” Nina specially during The Ball
“People improve when they get external love and support. How can we hold it against them when they don’t?” Beelzebub and Gabriel
“We have no plan. No one’s coming to save us. So... I’m going to do it.” Aziraphale(specifically him at the end of S2 in my opinion)but also just everybody in S1 with Anathema, Agnus, the Them, Aziraphale and Crowley, just all trying their best
“If soulmates do exist, they’re not found. They’re made. People meet. They get a good feeling, and they get to work building a relationship.” All the couples, but especially Aziraphale and Crowley with the Agreement, they were working on their relationship before they knew they were even working on their relationship
“What matters isn’t if people are good or bad. What matters is if people are trying to be better today than they were yesterday. You asked me where my hope comes from? That’s my answer.” Crowley, because deep down, at the end of the line, we know that he’s an optimist
*reminder that all of this is my opinion, if there’s anymore quotes you would like to add, please do, some of the information might be incorrect

He couldn’t find her.
Ellie usually wasn’t late when it came to coming home on time, especially when it started to get dark out, yet the sun was almost fully set and Joel couldn’t find her.
He tried not to panic—she was fifteen, she could handle herself, she probably just got distracted, she did have a tendency to wander off when she saw something interesting—but no matter how much he tried to comfort himself, he couldn’t calm down.
He checked her room, just to make sure she hadn’t entered quietly without him noticing, but it was just as empty as it had been when she left, and the rest of the house was no better. He knew where she was supposed to be coming back from, and he knew the stables were a safe place as long as nobody got kicked or rolled on by a horse, so he knew there was probably no danger. He told himself he just had to wait. She would come back, she always did.
Less than five minutes later he was tossing on his coat and hurrying out of the house in a panic. Screw waiting. He was going to the stables and he was finding his kid.
The walk to the stables was a quick one, which only made him worry more, and when he arrived and peeked his head in, gaze searching, his heart sank.
She wasn’t there.
Shit, he thought, chest tightening. “Ellie?” Where the hell was she? If she wasn’t here and she wasn’t home, something must’ve happened to her, and it was getting dark. He reached for the stall door nearest to him. How—
He stopped. Stared.
Are you fucking kidding me.
Lying in the middle of the stall was Ellie Miller-Williams herself, tucked against a snoozing horse’s side, snoring softly from her position curled up half on the ground, half on a large, could-kill-you-if-it-rolled-on-top-of-you mammal. Joel almost couldn’t believe his eyes, and he definitely couldn’t help the startled huff that came out of his mouth at the sight of his daughter, late to come home because she’d fallen asleep on a horse.
He ran an exasperated hand over his face and sighed. “Oh, Ellie, what am I gonna do with you?”
She stirred, lifting her head sleepily and squinting up at him. When she recognized him, her body relaxed again and she slumped back down onto the horse, who was probably Shimmer, if Joel had to take a guess. She made a small, incoherent noise. Probably trying to tell him to fuck off.
He rolled his eyes and crouched down next to her, gently shaking her shoulder, not wanting to startle her. “Ellie, wake up. We gotta get home. No more fallin’ asleep on dangerous animals, alright?”
Ellie mumbled something into Shimmer’s side.
“‘Scuse me?”
She turned her head to face him, eyes still closed. “Sh’mmer’s not dangerous.” The horse, whose eyes were closed as it rested alongside Ellie, snorted softly in what sounded like agreement. If he wasn’t still recovering from his initial fear of her being in danger, he would have to admit, her and the horse cuddling together was pretty cute. His initial fear was still on his mind, though, so them being cute was not his first priority.
“Uh-huh, sure. Am I really gonna have to pick you up?”
“Mhm.” Ellie turned her face away again and curled up into an even tighter ball, looking as if she was about to drift off again any moment.
Shaking his head but unable to hide the smile on his face, Joel reached out his hands and wrapped them around her, lifting her off of the ground with a grunt and almost dropping her as he tried to adjust her against him comfortably.
“Gettin’ to old for this,” he puffed, and her head drooped against his chest in reply. Shimmer’s head lifted at the sudden loss of Ellie on top of her, and he nodded at the horse, whether it be to thank it for not crushing his kid and killing her, or to acknowledge the fact that he knew what it felt to have a little girl pass out on you and render you unable to move. The horse snorted and placed its head down again. Good. Time to get the hell out of here.
Ellie shivered and curled up against him when he stepped out into the night and the cold breeze hit her. He rubbed his hand against her arm in an attempt to warm her and picked up his pace, and he almost missed it when Ellie mumbled out, “am I late?”
He frowned. “Late?”
“For home.” Right. Curfew. “I didn’t mean t’be late.”
“It’s alright,” he assured her. “Just try and get home before you pass out next time, hm?”
“I got distracted talkin’ to Shimmer,” she explained tiredly. “And then I fell asleep. Sorry. Did I scare you?” He glanced down and saw that her eyes had opened and she was staring at him with a small crease in her brow, looking worried.
He pressed a kiss to her hairline. “A bit,” he admitted, because sometimes he forgot how aware she was of how much he worried about her. “But I found you quickly.”
“Sorry,” she said again, eyes fluttering shut. “Didn’t mean to…worry.”
“It’s okay,” he said again as he reached their house and pushed the door open. He’d left in such a hurry he’d forgotten to lock it, but it seemed to be fine. “You can make it up to me by brushin’ your teeth and gettin’ cleaned up. You smell like dirty horse.”
“You smell like dirty horse,” she yawned back, to tired to think of an actual comeback. She still caught herself on both feet when he gently placed her down, and she stumbled sleepily over to the bathroom, only hitting her head on one corner on the way there.
Rolling his eyes affectionately, he headed to his own room and waited for the inevitable sound of tiny feet coming his way. Sure enough, a couple of minutes later the door creaked open and Ellie was stumbling in, flopping onto the edge of his bed and sliding herself under his covers.
“Excuse me, young lady,” he said, taking her hair of it’s ponytail and putting it on his nightstand, since she’d apparently forgotten to do that in her tiredness. “I believe the bed you’re sleepin’ in right now is mine.”
“Find a new one,” she mumbled into the pillow. “It’s mine now.”
“I s’pose we can share just this one time,” he sighed, pretending like it was a difficult decision for him to make.
“Mhm,” she huffed back. “Just once.”
Just like he had the night before, Joel slid into his covers, and just like she had the night before, Ellie turned and flopped on top of him, burying her face into the crook of his neck and curling around him like a snuggly koala. He wrapped his arms around her and gently rubbed her back in return, not minding the clinginess in the slightest, and in moments she was sleeping again.
Joel closed his eyes and fell asleep to the sound of her breathing.

When you find a tag for some random ship that you haven’t seen before, and is also not something you thought of.
But you read the fanfic/tumblr post anyway
And then you read more
And in the course of a few hours you now really like this ship and have a billion of your own head cannons about it and will defend it with your life.
Bonus if the ship will never be cannon ever, but your delusion enough to think that it could totally work and might happen.

Okay but before the justice league met the rest of the batfam I have a scenario
At one point one of the justice league, prolly Superman catches a ride with Batman for whatever reason and Superman being the goofy man he is, is getting awkward at the quiet notices a cd saying “the bat jams” and so he puts in the disc making a joke about Batman listening to heavy metal before B could even stop.
Superman isn’t sure what he expected but the blaring lyrics or barbie world is certainly not it, he looks over to B with shock written all over his face but Batman will not tell about the fact that the kids had contributed to make that cd for him as a joke, he will not risk the knowledge of his family getting out there, will not risk more potential danger to come there way, and honestly didn’t want to deal with the questions.
And so all he simply says is “mm good song”
Superman is FROZEN, he feels like he discovered a new layer of Batman but he still can’t believe that he owns a disc that’s called ‘the bat jams’ and has barbie world on it, he simply can’t process the information that has just been given to him.

3 / violent / 91 words
@jegulus-microfic
“Shit,” James said, running a finger along Regulus’ throat, over the five fingertip-sized bruises forming there. “People are gonna think I’m being violent with you!”
“James, it’s our honeymoon,” Regulus said. “People will not be assuming these marks are from violence.”
James grimaced, disbelieving.
“Fine,” Regulus said, climbing over the top of James. He immediately began mouthing at his neck and throat, kissing and biting, leaving excessive love bites in his wake.
James whined as Regulus rolled off of him, but Regulus only laughed.
“Now there won’t be any doubt, baby.”
