Notes: two things to address. first, the mcd. i have to tag it for safety, but its not a big deal i swear. a few tears, sure, but no sobbing, or chest-grabbing, or anything similar. i didn’t read this fic for two months after it was recced to me (i got burned way harder than i thought i would reading the haikyuu pacific rim fic), and that was a mistake. seriously. big kid serious. that mcd isn’t really that bad. if you decide to read it, but want me to spoil that little bit, message me.

Notes: this fic fucked me up, okay? another one near the top of the most kudosed bnha fics on ao3, and for a good reason. i told my mom that inko towards the end reminded me a lot of her, gave her some context, and we both cried. i love my mom, and this fic just made it even more obvious how lucky i am to have such a great lady in my life, especially as a parent. anyway, most of the stuff pitviperofdoom has written is Choice™, but this one hit me real hard. read all their stuff tbh.

(also this series is called ‘send endeavor to the shadow realm’ and honestly i’ve adopted that into my everyday thinking.)

Notes: a fandom must-read!! one of those series that preeeeeetty much everybody has already read, but i figured i’d add it anyway. lots of sex in this boi so you’ve got a quite a bit to dodge if that’s not your thing, but there’s also a lot of content that is markedly not-sex that makes everything worth it. i believe most of the sexy bits are skippable and many of the details important to the storyline are disclosed outside the context of raunchiness. this series is really the type of story that seems so real and unreal at the same time. all the installments fit together in the same universe and timeline (something i didn’t realise until after thinking ‘oh this kuroken fic reminds me a lot of that other iwaoi one. oh theyre written by the same person, that’s gotta be why........and they’RE IN THE SAME SERIES OHHHHHH SO MUCH MAKES SENSE NOW’) and collectively they all fit together very snugly. if you’ve got some time on your hands and are prepared for a fair amount of pining (the relatable kind, but also the JUST SAY SOMETHING DAMMIT kind), then definitely a good few stories to pick up!

Notes: here’s a thing about me: i ffuckign love pirates. i want to be one when i grow up. which is just icing on the goddamn cake. this thing is so fuckin cool. the narrative and speech patterns of the characters are somehow both very in character, but also very true to the time period and just add to the depth of the world. author described it as “pirates of the caribbean-esque” and in my mind that’s a pretty spot-on descriptor. definitely a great read that feels longer and bigger than its <75k word count. the plot is intriguing and crafted very well, and despite the full cast of characters (seriously, just about everybody’s in this), the attention is spread very well. the world itself is also very well built, with its own mythos and mystical happenings and it’s all so COOL. definitely a top tier pick!

Summary: Oikawa, on first impression, looks nothing like the devil from hell that Hajime soon learns him to be. Rather, he looks soft and handsome, wrapped up in a scarf to ward away the autumn chill, hair perfectly styled and brown eyes warm. He is taller than Hajime, his clothes just thin enough to cling to the defined muscle of his arms and Hajime reflects that he really is good-looking. It really is too bad that his order is the stupidest thing that Hajime has ever heard. (in which iwaizumi is the new barista at Karasuno's Coffee + Bakery and Oikawa is the pretty asshole with horrific coffee choices)

Notes: i was cringing the whole time at how stressful that must be to make each of oikawa’s orders. also i thought this was the one that he ordered a dirty chai in, but no?? or someone (daichi??) was explaining what it was to a new barista (hinata??????) and that’s all i remember but i want to thank the author bc thats My Coffee Order now. anyway, back to fic at hand lmao. the relationship between the two is amazingly developed. i personally adore iwachan’s slightly tsundere mannerisms, and the outside perspectives of iwaoi’s budding relationship might be my favorite things ever. a really sweet, quick read from a trope that is very well-loved, and carried out with just as much elegance as is required, plus a bit more.
