You want a deep dark secret?

It's really not that deep, just embarrassing. And sad. Mostly sad.

I have never been apt at making friends. And when I turned 14, it had only been 2.5 months since I had been made to move to a new state and live with my mother again.

I invited two girls from class that I would also eat lunch with at times. But as soon as they arrived, they somehow left best friends with my little sister.

I actually brought this up to her today. I couldn't remember one of the girls' names and my sister said, "Her name was ____ and she had had corrective surgery for a cleft lip, right?"

"I don't know, I don't remember. That's the point, they met you and became YOUR friends."

This happened a lot. My sister is blue-eyed and bubbly. I am not and I especially wasn't at 14.

You're never allowed to meet her.

Why would I want an imitation when I can have the real thing, babes? If you don't want me to meet her, I certainly have no desire to.
