look if they wanted a skinny white man who's full of angst but still maintains a childlike wonder and sense of joy, THEY SHOULD'VE CASTED DAVID TENNANT INSTEAD OF TIMOTHEE CHALAMET FOR WILLY WONKA!!!!

I have several issues with the movie, and one of them is that Timothee Chalamet could not portray Wonka the way I assume the writers wanted him to be. Wonka is the Candyman and he makes magical chocolates, but he is a momma's boy who lost his mother, cannot read, got scammed into overpaying at a hotel, and is getting run out of town by the chocolate mafia. I was genuinely curious to see Chalamet as Wonka but he just didn't manage to balance the angst and wonderment of Willy Wonka.

Meanwhile David Tennant played the tenth doctor for FOUR SEASONS. A character who is brimming with angst and trauma and yet has a believable sense of wonderment and joy. AND the switch between angst and joy is so smooth and natural and fitting to the character.

Currently watching doctor who for the first time and the doctor is SO demiromantic/sexual. I feel like Matt Smith’s performance as the eleventh doctor is the epitome if these asexual moments and I simultaneously love it and feel deeply uncomfortable whenever the doctor isn’t shown as asexual because it feels so out of character for him.

so I'm making a short film for my class and I've decided it's going to be an aroace character coming home after a date and talking to her friend. I want the main character to be telling her friend about how she feels and trying to say that she's ace without actually saying it. Rn, my main plan is to just have aroace books in shot, maybe an actual ace card, and really have the character struggle to get her friend to understand that the way she views attraction is different.

My experience with realizing my asexuality was just realizing that I experienced attraction in a different way than my friends, and it wasn't because I was more mature or just hadn't found the right guy; it was because I'm ace. The film is essentially a few minutes of contemplation and self-reflection, but I struggle with putting names to feelings.

I'm asking (more like begging rly because this is due soon) the aroace community to share how they've found their experiences with attraction (romantic or sexual) to be different from allo peers. THANK YOU FOREVER.

does anyone have an interest in watching videos on Tumblr? Personally, I see Tumblr as more of a space to read other peoples' thoughts and fanfics etc. And I remember there being a time when tiktokers were thinking of posting on tumblr and active tumblr users weren't a big fan of that idea (which I understood and thought it was definitely valid since the tumblr tag system works differently).

But I've been thinking of making quick videos about Coral Island (a cozy farming game that I'm OBSESSED with), and I feel safer posting content than Instagram or TikTok. But I'm still not sure; do people have any interest in watching vids on Tumblr? They would be quick videos unless people are interested in longer ones.

There's a lot about me that I could tell you to introduce myself, but I'm going to try and keep this short. I'm a film student who is in love with Oliver Wood and fell into hp TikTok when it was at its peak back in 2020. I have a collection of saved TikToks and audios named "video ideas" because I was always thinking of making and posting videos. BUT I have crippling anxiety and, as much as I wanted to make videos, the anxiety was strong enough to make me not want to do it.

However, I will not be taking any film classes this semester and I want to keep practicing my skills. So I have decided to finally jump into the hp fandom like I have been wanting to for years. I will be posting blurbs and videos on my Tumblr and I hope that I will reach the right community.

Frankly, I think TikTok is a terrifying platform which is why I will be posting any videos on Tumblr instead. Also, I am aware that it is almost impossible to separate the art from the artist. I know that the Oliver Wood simp community is microscopic and essentially everything I love about hp is fannon, but I also acknowledge that making public videos about Harry Potter could potentially encourage people to give attention to jkr's awful works.

I hope that I can make this dream a reality and that I can build the community I've been envisioning. 💗
