A/n: Sorry for not getting to you sooner. I am going to try to get out imagines and request as best I can this week. I am booked with work all week this week. Also requests are open.
I changed a little bit of it, but most of it is still the same as you requested.
P.s The songs that I will be using are not mine, they belong with the talented writers and their respectful owners.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your POV
I was in my dressing room waiting to be called to go on stage when I got a notification from instagram. I saw that the actor Louis Partridge followed me. I decided to do some stalking and found some really interesting photos and pictures of him. While I was looking at this one photo of him getting his makeup done I accidentally liked the photo. I then immediately started panicking, because I didn't mean to like it. Before I could do anything about it, I was called to go on stage.
I grabbed my guitar and slowly made my way up to the front of the stage. I could feel the excited energy rising off the fans that came to the show tonight. I felt a smirk form on my face when the lights came on. I heard all the fans start screaming, which made me let out a little giggle into the microphone.
“ How is everyone doing tonight!” I shouted into the mic
I laughed at how everyone was screaming again. I decided to start off with my most popular song right now. I started playing the chords to my song ‘ Good 4 you’
“ Ah. Well, good for you, I guess you moved on really easily. You found a new girl and it only took a couple weeks. Remember when you said that you wanted to give me the world? (Ah-ah-ah-ah)”
I then made the crowd sing along with me.
“ Well, good for you. You look happy and healthy. Not me. If you ever cared to ask.”
I let the crowd scream the lyrics while I continued to play the guitar. I then grabbed the microphone and screamed..
“ Well, good for you, I guess you’re gettin’ everything you want. (Ah) You brought a new car and your career’s really takin’ off (Ah) It’s like we never even happened.”
While singing, I walked up the front and held the microphone close to them and let them scream the lyrics.
I then jumped in with them.
“ Person who ever got you? Well, screw that and screw you. You will never have to hurt the way you know that I do.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Louis POV
I was on the set of Enola Holmes when my phone buzzed indicating that I got a notification. I pulled it out to find the most famous singer I was in love with and liked one of my photos. I was just staring at my screen when my phone got snached out of my hand.
“ Ooh, what’s got you blushing like that? It looks like you turned into a very red tomato.” I heard Millie speak
I watched her face change from teasing to super shocked. I still felt shocked.
“ What! How?” She spits out
I shrugged my shoulders in response. Millie then gave me a playful glare. “ What do you mean you don’t know?”
I gave Millie a look of confusion. “ Millie, I just don’t know how she found my account. I mean I follow her but I don’t think she would ever follow me.”
She just nodded her head and handed my phone back. I then slid it into my pocket before we had to go back to our scene together.
Your POV
I was getting closer to the end of my new song so I went back to my microphone stand and put the mic back in its place before lowering my voice.
“ Maybe I’m too emotional, But your apathy’s like a wound in salt. Maybe I’m too emotional, or maybe you never cared at all. Maybe I’m too emotional, Your apathy is like a wound in salt.” I started leaning into my microphone and started getting my voice ready to shout soon. “ Maybe I’m too emotional, or maybe you never cared at all.” I then let the crowd sing the chorus until I shouted into the mic “ LIKE A DAMN SOCIOPATH!” I heard the crowd scream loud when I did that so I let out a giggle before continuing my song.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was now sitting down on my stool that one of my band mates brought over for me. I was strumming my acoustic guitar on my lap to my next song while talking to my fans.
“ How is everyone doing tonight?”
I got back a bunch of screams and I even heard some responses back which made me smile. “ Alright guys the show is wrapping up soon-” Before I could continue I heard the crowd “ Aww” in response. “ You guys are funny, but I have had such an amazing time hanging out and singing for you guys. I just want to let you know I have about two more songs for you guys. So the first song I want to play for you guys is ‘ Happier’ and then the last and final song of the night is going to be' ‘Good Boy’’.”
I gave the crowd a smile before going back to playing the chords to my song ‘ Happier’
I got closer to the mic and sang the first words…
“ We broke up a month ago.Your friends are mine, you know I know. You’ve moved on, found someone new. One more girl who brings out the better in you. And I thought my heart was detached. From all the sunlight of our past. But she’s so sweet, she’s so pretty, Does she mean you forgot about me?”
I then stop singing for a little while with a small frown on my face before looking up to find the crowd with their phone lights out. I gave a small smile before going back to a frown. I then sang..
“ Oh, I hope you’re happy, But not like how you were with me. I’m selfish, I know, I can’t let you go. So find someone great, but don’t be happier.”
I then pointed for the crowd to take over the singing for a little bit while I played the chords.
Louis POV Millie and I just finished our last scene of the movie so we had to change out of our outfits and head to the place where we were meeting the rest of the cast and crew members for a one last dinner event.
I was the last to arrive as per usual, so we all laughed it off before having a great time with each other before heading off in different directions.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once I was back to my house I fell into my bed and layed there for quite some time. I got interrupted with a text message, so I grabbed my phone and said Millie sent me a link to something. Without thinking I clicked on it and saw that it was a video of Y/n singing one of her popular songs. I smiled while watching it due to my huge crush on her, if I ever met her in real life I probably would pass out in front of her.
Your POV
After I sang my last line of my last song I yelled into the mic…
“ I LOVE YOU LONDON! SEE YOU REAL SOON AGAIN!”
I then ran off stage and headed to my dressing room to pack my things to then get on my toru bus that will take me to my hotel that I was staying at. While I was sitting on the bus I decided to post a couple of my pictures I took and put them on my instagram page. After I did that I then decided to stalk that actor I saw on my feed.
‘Time Jump’
It was one of the most important days of my life because I was nominated for an award at the Grammys. So I was with my make up team and someone was helping me with my outfit also. It was a simple but fashionable dress with some simple black high heel shoes.
Third Person POV
Louis was heading to the Grammy’s because of his new movie getting picked for one of the categories, but Y/n also got a nomination for Top artist, and album of the year. The both of them were so close to seeing each other in real life and they didn’t expect each other to be so starstruck.
Louis’s POV
I was walking around the red carpet with Millie when she got asked to do an interview so I stood back and waited for her to be done. While I was waiting I heard a familiar laugh being heard only a couple of feet ahead of me. I then snapped my head into the direction to find the one and only Y/n Y/l/n laughing with the person interviewing her. It took me a little while to process everything that was going around me because I could only see her in the room. I felt my heart start beating faster and felt my hands start shaking a little bit.
Millie’s POV
I was finally done with my interview when I saw Louis staring at something so I followed his eyes and saw him staring at Y/n. I felt a smirk form on my lips and pulled him over to her with all the strength I had in me.  I heard him telling me to stop but I didn’t listen since I waited to meet her too.
Your POV
I was talking to someone when I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder which made me turn my head. I saw a teenage girl and a teenage boy behind me, so I smiled before giving them my attention.
“ Hi, I’m Millie Bobby Brown and this is my friend Louis Partridge.”  she said
“ Hi, Are you guys fans? Also, are you guys by any chance actors in this movie called Enola Holmes?” I questioned
Millie looked at me shocked and nodded her head. I gave her a smile before holding my arms out to give her a hug. I felt her wrap her arms around me. “ I am such a big fan of your music and I could say the same for him back there too.”
I let out a giggle before releasing her and looked behind her to find Louis just staring. I walked over to him and gently put my hand on his shoulder which made him jump. I raised an eyebrow “ Are you good?” He then just gave me a nod. I turned my head due to hearing Millie speak.
“ He was just in shock. He's in love with you.”
Louis’s POV
I felt my face getting hotter by the minute and glared at Millie. She gave me an innocent look and smirked before walking off and leaving me with Y/n. I saw her turn around and smile at me.
“ So in love with me.” She teased
I gave out a chuckle before scratching the back of my neck and looking back at her. I was about to answer her but someone told us to head to the seats to hear the winners. I watched her walk away and smiled before heading to my seat next to Millie.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once the awards were over I decided to search for Y/n before leaving to head back to my hotel room. I saw her getting hugs from people so I stood back.
Your POV
I smiled at everyone and turned due to feeling eyes on me. I saw Louis and smiled at him. I walked over to him and gave him a hug and whispered. “ Congrats on your award.” I felt his breath on the side of my neck and heard him doing the same to me. I then pulled back due to hearing my name and slipped a piece of paper to him before kissing the side of his cheek.
Third Person POV
Louis stood there with a shocked expression again. He then looked down at the piece of paper to find her number and a message that said ‘ call me’. He then felt himself smile before heading back to his hotel to rest up.
‘Time Jump’
Y/n was chilling in her apartment writing a song when she heard her phone ring. She picked it up to find an unknown number, but just answered it hoping it would be Louis.
“ Hello?” she said with caution
“ Hi” she heard him say
Which made her let out a little giggle. “ I thought you would never call me.” she responded with. Louis chuckled on the other end. “ Yea, sorry about that. I was a little scared to call you.” Before he could say anything else he heard giggles coming from the other end of the line.
“ Why Louis?” Louis thought hard about what his next response was going to be because he didn’t want to straight up say because we were meant to be together or I was just scared of rejection. Louis finally decided to just ask..
“ Y/n.” he took a pause “ I was wondering if you would like to go out to dinner with me?”
Your POV
I let out a gasp when I heard those words and started nodding but forgetting he couldn't see me so I said..
“ Ofcourse, I will go out with you, Louis.”
Then we just chatted about our days for the rest of the day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The day my date with Louis came so quickly then I could have blinked and I was not prepared. I ran all over my house looking for things to finish off my outfit before it was time to go.
I heard a knock on my door indicating that he was here so I slipped on my heels and carefully made my way to the door. Once I opened it I was met with those hazel eyes that I fell in love with.
“ Wow, you look stunning.” he said
I felt myself start blushing. I then took in his look and stated that… “ Well you look really handsome.”
He then held his hand out for me to take. “ My lady,” he said in his accent, which made me let out a small giggle.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We were coming up to the end of the date already. He took me to this beautiful restaurant where we are now sharing a piece of cake. I saw him staring at me so I questioned him.
“ What?”
He let out a soft chuckle. “ Nothing, you're just really beautiful looking under this light.”
I felt myself start to blush which made me look down. Before I knew it I felt two fingers lift it back up. “ Don’t look down, you're gorgeous when you get all flustered.” That only made me blush harder. “ Stop.” I said giggling which made him chuckle.
Before I knew it we were back in his car driving back to my place. I was looking out the window when I felt him put his hand on my leg, which sent chills all over my body. I then put my hand on top of his and intertwined our fingers together. I smiled at the thought of us going on more dates.
Louis’s POV
I pulled into her driveway and parked my car. I turned to face her when I saw her already looking at me. I then released her hand and got out of the car to go to her side and open it for her. I walked her to her door where we both stood there for a little while. I then took a risk and leaned forward. I could feel her breath on me, I then closed the gap between us. I could feel her smile into the kiss before I felt her wrap her arms around the back of my neck. I wrapped my arms around her waist to pull her in to me more. She pulled away but kept her forehead against mine.
“ I really like you Louis.” She whispered against my lips
I smiled and said, “ I really like you too Y/n.”
I then leaned in again to give her another goodnight kiss before heading off. I walked over to my car and got in, I then waved at her with a smile on my face and pulled out of the driveway.
Third Person POV
Y/n watched Louis drive off into the distance. She felt a smile creep on her face before heading inside to dream about her date with him. Louis felt the same as her. He felt all giddy inside and he could help but smile at the thought of her. He was already planning the next date for them to go on together.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Man this is long, but it was worth it because I got major butterflies from writing this for you. I hope you enjoy and if you would like more Louis then comment and I definitely write more of him.

(x) (x) (x) (x)
This is the day Tom wears the infamous 'I <3 TS' tank top while they're all at the beach. (x)
Tumblr media
Jul 4th - The online mockery for the 'I <3 TS' shirt is quick to pour in. Daily Mail commenters are yet to shut up about it in 2021.
The party continues with a giant inflatable waterslide, body painting, karaoke, charades and fireworks. (x) And also Kesha and Haim getting tricked by Cara, Uzo and Ruby into thinking they heard scary noises in the night, and trying to call the police but not knowing their own location. (x) (x)
Jul 5th - The day after the party, when all the guests post their photos online.
Britany posts a photo of her & Ben, Blake & Ryan, and Taylor & Tom. (x) The internet has a field day with Ryan's unimpressed facial expression. (x) (Ryan later says that it's just his resting bitch face as he wasn't aware a photo was being taken. (x))
Tumblr media
Taylor posts several photos to Instagram of her celebrating the 4th July with friends, but doesn't post any pictures with Tom. (x)
Claire Winter posts a bunch of Polaroids, including one of Taylor and Tom kissing. (x)
Tumblr media
Abigail posts a photo to Instagram showing the banners Taylor put up to celebrate her engagement to Matt and the anniversaries of Cara & St Vincent (real name Annie Clark) and Ed & Cherry. (x)
Tumblr media
Jul 6th - Taylor and Tom fly out of Rhode Island (x) and arrive at LAX that evening. (x) They then get on a plane to Australia.
Joe attends the Warner Music Group summer party in London. (x)
Rumours are swirling that Tom is no longer in consideration to be the next Bond, due to his relationship with Taylor. (x) (x) (x) (x) (x)
Jul 8th - Taylor and Tom are flying on a commercial Quantas flight so someone is able to take a pic of them on the plane. (x)
Tumblr media
According to another passenger on the plane, Taylor plays Scrabble during the flight (presumably on her phone because nobody takes big physical board games on commercial flights and the creepshot of Hiddleswift on the plane suggests she wouldn't have had anywhere to put the board anyway). In hindsight, knowing how Taylor and Joe play lots of Scrabble together including online Scrabble aka Words With Friends, and how they stayed in touch largely via texting that summer, it’s very possible she was playing against Joe.
Taylor and Tom arrive in Sydney, where Tom is about to start filming for Thor: Ragnarok. (x) Aussie media, including daytime TV, goes nuts over Hiddleswift's arrival in the country. (x)
Flying from LA to Australia involves crossing the international dateline, so they would have left the US on the 6th July local time and arrived in Sydney approx 15 hours later on the 8th July local time.
Calvin's new song Olé, written for John Newman, is released. There is speculation that it's a Hiddleswift song, written from Tom's perspective and containing lyrics implying that Taylor cheated on Calvin with Tom. However, sources also told multiple outlets that the song was written and recorded months earlier, and its supposed links to Hiddleswift were just for publicity. (x) (x)
Jul 9th - Tom goes out for a run (x) and avoids answering questions about Taylor. (x)
Jul 10th - Taylor and Tom go out for dinner to Gemelli Italian restaurant in Broadbeach on Australia's Gold Coast. (x)
Tumblr media
Jul 11th - Taylor is named as the highest earning celebrity on the 2016 Forbes Celebrity 100 list, with earnings of $170m mostly due to the 1989 World Tour. If she and Calvin had not split up, they would have been the top-earning celebrity couple. (x)
Jul 12th - Taylor visits Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in South Brisbane. (x)
Jul 13th - Us Weekly makes a wild claim that Tom is planning to propose soon, and Taylor is going to say yes. The magazine cover also claims they're already talking about babies. (x)
TMZ claims that Taylor wrote TIWYCF, and that Calvin disrespecting Taylor following its release was the reason for their breakup. (x)
Taylor Swift really is the creative brains behind Calvin Harris' monster hit "This is What You Came For," and their relationship fell apart because he disrespected her when the song was released ... this according to sources connected with Taylor.
It's a fascinating story. We've learned an early fan rumor about the song is true, but to a deeper extent than anyone suspected. During their relationship, Taylor wrote the song, sat down at a piano and did a demo into her iPhone. She sent it to Calvin, who loved it. They both went into a studio and did a full demo with Taylor on vocals and Calvin doing the beat.
They both knew the song would be a hit, but Taylor wrote it for Calvin and both agreed it was a bad idea to let the world know they collaborated as a couple ... it would overshadow the song.
So Taylor, who kept the publishing rights, used the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg on the credits.
//
The problem in the relationship came the day the song was released. Calvin appeared on Ryan Seacrest's radio show and Ryan asked, "Will you do a collaboration with your girlfriend?" Calvin responded, "You know we haven't even spoken about it. I can't see it happening though."
We're told Taylor was hurt and felt Calvin took it too far.
It was a quick downward spiral from that point. One source called it "the breaking point in the relationship." The Met Gala was several days later, when Taylor danced with Tom Hiddleston.
Tree confirms to People magazine that Taylor did write TIWYCF under the pseudonym Nils Sjöberg. (x)
Calvin also confirms that Taylor wrote TIWYCF and goes on a Twitter rant:
Tumblr media
Katy Perry tweets a gif of Hillary Clinton with a smug/'told you so' expression. (x) She also retweets an older tweet from May 2015 which reads, 'Time, the ultimate truth teller.' (x)
Tumblr media
#TaylorSwiftIsOverParty trends on Twitter (x) (x) and Taylor's Instagram comments are spammed with the snake emoji. (x)
Following Calvin's tweets, TMZ publishes another article claiming he is downplaying Taylor's involvement in the song as she wrote the melody in addition to the lyrics. (x)
Jul 14th - Taylor goes out shopping in Gold Coast. (x)
Tumblr media
Tom mentions Taylor in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter: (x)
You're in the middle of a cultural frenzy right now because you're dating Taylor Swift. How would you respond to people who claim that you're involved in some sort of publicity stunt?
(Laughs.) Well, um. How best to put this? That notion is — look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we're very happy. Thanks for asking. That's the truth. It's not a publicity stunt.
Martha says at a Pepsi/World Emoji Day event that Taylor and Tom are 'both happy and free together. It's amazing, I'm all about people being happy in love.' (x)
Kim talks about Taylor and the Famous controversy in a clip from an upcoming episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. (x)
“I never talk shit about anyone publicly, especially in interviews. But I was just like I had so had it,” Kim says in the clip to her sister Kourtney. “I wanted to defend him in it. She legitimately quote says, ‘As soon as I get on that Grammy red carpet I’m gonna tell all the press. Like I was in on it.’”
“And then she just didn’t like the reaction?” Kourtney says in response.
“Yeah, and you know just another way to play the victim,” Kim replies. She then brings the infamous VMAs moment from 2009 by saying, “It definitely got her a lot of attention the first time… I just don’t think he should be punished for it still to this day.”
Jul 17th - Kim posts an edited recording of Kanye and Taylor's phone call. In it, they discuss the 'I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex' line and Taylor says, 'Go with whatever line you think is better. It’s obviously very tongue in cheek either way. And I really appreciate you telling me about it. That’s really nice.' However, nowhere in the Snapchat video does Kanye consult her about the line, 'I made that bitch famous,' which is the line Taylor insisted she had never approved. (x) The other Kardashian sisters retweet and support Kim. (x)
(The full recording of the call, leaked in 2020, confirms that Kanye never told Taylor he was going to call her a bitch. It also shows her reminding him that she sold 7 million albums before he had even heard of her, in response to him suggesting the lyric, 'I made her famous.')
Kim takes to Twitter to call Taylor a snake.
Tumblr media
Taylor posts a statement on Instagram responding to Kim's Snapchat video. (x)
Tumblr media
Selena tweets, 'There are more important things to talk about… Why can’t people use their voice for something that fucking matters? This industry is so disappointing yet the most influential smh' (x)
Katy Perry tweets, '#RISE above it all' and links to her new single. People interpret it as a dig at Taylor. (x)
Martha Hunt tweets, 'It's pathetic how quick our culture is to sensationalize a fabricated story...' (x)
Jul 18th - #KimExposedTaylorParty spends the day trending at number one worldwide on Twitter. (x) To the point where 0.8% of all tweets posted in the entire week from the 18th-24th use the hashtag. (x) (Assuming that 1/7th of the week's total tweets were posted on each day, that means more than 1 in every 20 tweets on the 18th used the hashtag.) #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty also returns.
Tumblr media
TMZ claims to have a copy of a letter from Taylor's lawyer, dating back to February, demanding that Kanye destroy the recording of their phone conversation and reminding him that it is a felony to secretly record a phone conversation in California. (x)
Taylor changes the name on her writing credits for TIWYCF on the BMI songwriters database. She is now listed as Taylor Swift instead of Nils Sjöberg. (x)
Camilla Belle, the subject of Taylor's 2010 song Better Than Revenge, posts a quote to Instagram which reads, 'No need for revenge. Just sit back & wait. Those who hurt you will eventually screw up themselves & if you’re lucky, God will let you watch.' (x)
Abigail tweets against Kim and Kanye, saying, 'May God forgive you & your wife for doing to others the very things you pray are NEVER done to your daughter.' She deletes the tweets after receiving death threats but leaves a tweet which reads, 'Guys…I will always stand by my best friend. There's no point in fighting over that.' (x)
Joseph Kahn (director of many of Taylor's music videos) defends Taylor on Twitter. (x)
The aunt of Dinah Jane from Fifth Harmony tweets, 'I always knew @/taylorswift13 was a SNAKE! Trying 2 break up my girls & use @/camilacabello97 as her protégé bitch bye you’ve been exposed!’ (x) The tweet is soon deleted and she claims her account was hacked. (x) (Camila quit the band at the end of 2016 and has since said that Taylor had nothing to do with her decision to leave.) (x)
Paula Erickson, Taylor’s former publicist from 2007 until 2014, likes a two-and-a-half-week-old tweet dragging Hiddleswift for being a badly executed bit of PR by Taylor and Tree. (x)

Only Mine
A/N: So I’m going to warn this ahead of time, I used Taylor Swift songs. So all credit to Taylor (she’s absolutely incredible and a genius ngl), but all these songs are hers. Just pretend for this story like they’re not and like you wrote them and sang them or something. If you don’t know them then listen to them if you want. They’re all great. And yes, I know some of them are her pop songs and from different albums and eras. But her lyrics are masterpieces. Pairing: Gerard Way x F!Reader Warnings: Mentions of sexual doings, not the actual action though. Word count: 1,535
Gerard’s birthday was fast approaching. And you couldn’t wait.
Of course, you didn’t make it obvious. He never got too excited for his own birthday, to him it was just another day. With cake and presents and such included, but just another day nonetheless. “Gee?” You called into his tour bus, walking up the stairs.
“Hey Y/N.” You heard Ray, who you saw sitting on the couch on his phone.
“Oh, hey Ray.” You smiled in response. “Do you know where Gee went?” “No,” He sighed, “Talking to some manager, I think.” You nodded, sitting next to him, “What’re you planning on getting Gerard for his birthday?” He asked, you smiled at the masterful plan you had.
“You just really can’t tell him.” You said, laying back, “Like this is actually something that if you tell him I may have to hide your dead body.” “Got it.” He lightly laughed.
“So I’ve made this collection of songs over the years, since we started dating. And I put them into an album. About him.” Ray looked slightly surprised. “What? Is it dumb. Oh no is it dumb?” “No, actually no.” He smiled, “It’s brilliant to be honest with you. I mean you’re an incredible singer but an even better song writer. You’ve won Grammy’s so I think anyone would be more than grateful to have an entire album written about them. By a Grammy winner.”
You weren’t known for love songs, at all. You had written and released a few which many fans raved as your best, but you weren’t necessarily known for your song.
“Have you named it yet?” Ray asked. You shook your head.
“I don’t know if I will. Or if I will maybe it’ll just be ‘To Gerard’.” He lightly smiled and shook his head, “What?” “C’mon, you’re so creative. And the best you can come up with is ‘To Gerard?’“ You nodded. “What about something more creative? Like something he reminds you of?” “Cigarettes, coffee, comic books, horror movies, having nothing to say.”
“Those are terrible.” Ray said, “What about something super nice about him?”
“I don’t know, I need to think.”
And you did. For days and days and days. You had the CD ready to give to him, in a blank case. You couldn’t stop thinking, day and night. You were staying at a hotel for a few days, his birthday falling right in the middle of the stretch.
The only thing written on it was on the back, displaying each song name in order in your handwriting.
1. Paper Rings 2. Miss Americana And The Heartbreak Prince 3. Gorgeous 4. Cruel Summer 5. King Of My Heart 6. Dress 7. Lover 8. So It Goes... 9. Afterglow 10. Delicate 11. Call It What You Want 12. cardigan 13. False God
Gerard held you close at night, having not held you in a few weeks due to being on separate tour buses. Strands of his growing black hair were scattered across the crevices on his face, soft snores leaving his mouth occasionally. You rolled over to see the clock next to you display 11:58. And that’s when it hit.
You carefully crawled away from Gerard, quietly going through your bag and finding the CD case and a sharpie. On the front you wrote, “My Midnight Boy”.
“Babe?” You heard him ask.
“Yeah?” You lightly said back.
“What’re you doing?” You could tell by his groggy voice that he was only half awake.
“Just had to make sure something was here, it is.” You said, carefully placing both items back in your bag and crawling into bed with him again. He immediately wrapped his arms around you, pulling you to him.
The next morning you woke up to the sound of the shower starting. Gee was taking a shower you knew, so you decided to browse on your phone for a few moments.
“Hey, sugar.” You heard Gee’s voice as he walked out of the bathroom.
“Hey, Gee.” You lightly smiled. “Are you excited?” You asked him, smiling like a fool. “For what?” He asked, confused.
“It’s your birthday tomorrow!” He gave a small smile.
“Yeah, well that’s tomorrow.”
“That’s my point, babe, it’s tomorrow.” “Well there’s no need to get excited for today.” You rolled your eyes.
“You’re something else Mr. Way.” You told him, standing up to go get in the shower yourself.
-A time skip because I’m lazy-
Finally it was Gee’s birthday. You could easily tell you were more excited than Gerard, considering he had the same attitude towards it as literally every other day of the year (besides Christmas maybe).
You both woke up around the same time, so the minute your eyes met you knew he was awake. “Happy birthday.” You lightly smiled, leaning to him in bed and giving him a soft kiss on the lips.
“Thanks.” He smiled back once you released.
“How does it feel to be 30?” “Don’t remind me,” He said and you lightly laughed, “I’m an old man.” “Well,” You said, “Kinda.” He lightly laughed.
“The only positive is I have a super hot 25 year old girlfriend.” You chuckled.
“Don’t bring up the age difference,” You sat up, he was already standing on the other side of the bed, “The media’s attacked both of us for that enough.” He sighed. “Do you want your present now or later?” “Well that depends, what it is?” He smirked. You rolled your eyes.
“If you’re implying a blowjob, that would be later.” He let out a sigh, “Jeez, Gee, let a girl prepare.” You got up, placing your feet on the cold carpet of the hotel floor, “But your other present, which I can nearly guarantee you is better than a BJ, I can give it to you whenever you want.”
“Better than a blowjob? That’s hard to be beat.” You rolled your eyes, going to your luggage to grab some jeans and a shirt.
“You are such an immature boy sometimes Gee.” “Hey, it’s my birthday, don’t insult me.”
“The truth is not an insult.” You said right back. You walked to the bathroom, shutting the door and quickly brushing your teeth and changing, before brushing your hair and walking back out. “So, when do you want your present?”
“Mmmmmmmh,” He hummed for a moment, “Now?” “Of course, my dear.” You smiled, walking over to your bag and picking out the CD, “It’s not much, but I really do hope you’ll like it.” You handed it to him, he took it and looked at it briefly, studying the look of it.
“A CD?” He asked. You nodded. “By you?” You nodded. “Unreleased?” You once again nodded.
“Just listen to it Gee,” You smiled, “I to go meet with my manager, but I’ll be back in two hours.” “But-” “It’s your birthday, babe, I know. But Will is being an asshole and said I have to go to this. So I gotta go.” You gave him a long kiss, “I love you.” “Love you too.” He replied.
-Another time skip-
You walked back in to the room, taking off your light coat and shoes. “Hey Gee.” You announced your arrival. No reply. “Gee?” You called out again. You walked further to see him on the bed, laying there, tears in his eyes. “Baby, what’s wrong.” He picked up the CD. “Did you mean it?” He asked. You gave a puzzled look, “The lyrics, the everything? Do you mean it?” You nodded and lightly smiled.
“Of course, Gee.” He looked away from you for a moment, sighing before putting his hand in his pocket and ruffling it around for something.
“I was gonna do this later but I need to do this.” He got off the bed, his eyes still slightly watery, and kneeled down. There in his hand was a silver ring, with a tiny diamond in it. “Marry me?” He asked. You were taken aback slightly.
“Um, yes, of course Gerard.” He quickly slipped the finger on the ring, getting up and slamming his lips onto yours.
“Good.” He said, his hands on your cheeks, faces less than two inches apart. “I want to spend every damn moment of the rest of my life with you.” You lightly laughed.
“I do too, Gee.” He gave you another long kiss.
“You need to release it.” He stated, letting go off the kiss but his hands still rested on your cheeks.
“What?” You aksed.
“Release the album. You have to.” “I, um,” You began, “I- are you sure? I mean it was kinda personal Gee-” “It was a masterpiece!” He said, letting go and picking up the CD, “You have to. You absolutely have to! Do you know what this would do to your solo career? Do you know how many Grammys you would get?” “I-” You were taken very aback by this, “Gee, I didn’t do it for awards-” “Yeah, but it deserves them. Ask anyone who listens to it.” You sighed.
“Fine,” You said, “I’ll think about it. But are you 100% sure? I mean it kinda talks about our sex life too-” “Yeah, well all the better. I want the entire world to know you’re mine. Only mine.”

Beepr Goes To Shows: Governor’s Ball 2021.
In this first installment of Beepr Goes To Shows, I spent all 3-days at this years Governor’s Ball to give you crowd coverage you deserve and concert recaps/reviews you want. Stay tuned for more show write-ups and other updates!
Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist
What happens when you put two legends on the same stage? You get one hell of a fucking show. Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist were on another level that Friday afternoon, delivering classics from Madlib collaborative albums (Crime Pays, Fake Names, Palm Olive, Thuggin), recent singles from Freddie (Big Boss Rabbit, Gang Signs), and all your favorite offerings from Alfredo (Baby $Hit, Scottie Beam, Something To Rap About). The braggadocious swagger Freddie brings to the stage is tempered by Alchemist’s suave production and generally reserved demeanor, making them a very balanced performance. Despite being an acclaimed producer, you get the sense that The Alchemist is there to support Freddie rather than make the performance about himself. Freddie’s natural humor shines through in between songs, cracking jokes while taking tokes and hitting a bottle of Hennessy. Chants of “Fuck police,” cheers for the Alchemist, and concert-goers belting choruses created a deafening atmosphere, rivaling some sold out indoor venues I’ve visited. To call Freddie a cult artist would be disrespectful of all the mainstream achievements (Grammy nominations, cracking Billboard Top 25s, etc), and yet for some reason, he remains on the fringes of superstardom. Part of what people love about Freddie Gibbs is his larger than life personality, as he has an authenticity about him that’s naturally charismatic. If there’s anything I can be certain about after that set, it’s that Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist have undeniable chemistry and I hope they have more on the way.
Phoebe Bridgers
In January of 2018, a report from Nielsen Music identified that rap had surpassed rock in terms of overall music consumption. But Phoebe Bridgers will not allow her genre to go quietly into the night. She very well may be the next iteration of a rockstar. From her band all being in uniform, to the stage production, and most importantly, her diehard fans: Phoebe Bridgers is killing it in all aspects of the game. Apparently, I had been living under rock for quite some time as I only did a deep dive into her music when I saw her on the Governor’s Ball lineup announcement. How foolish was I? Phoebe has an incredible catalogue despite being only 27 (bolstered by her work with groups like Boygenius and Better Oblivion Community Center). Songs like Motion Sickness, Garden Song, and ICU feel more like Phoebe hosting a singalong, as the entire crowd is belting back each and every lyric at the top of their lungs with emphatic energy. Tracks like Kyoto also fall into that category, but there’s an immense rush of excitement as the brilliance of Bridger’s music blares through over the speakers for the chorus. Ballads like I Know The End are blissful moments of serenity, as I found myself swaying with my eyes closed in my little spot in the crowd. Her nonchalance in between songs is intoxicating, as it’s a beautiful contrast to her immensely emotive and personal performance. It’s so endearing to see past what’s on the outside and find an individual who profoundly cares about their work. What perhaps is most endearing about Phoebe’s performance is how she’s unabashedly herself: quips like “Fuck nihilism, too” are interjected in between songs, her outfit a glamorized rendition of the classic skeleton t-shirts. While I might have been late to the party in terms of the Phoebe Bridgers hype train, you can bet I’m going to be early to every one of her shows from here on out.
A$AP Rocky
As Saturday night of Governor’s Ball was drawing near to an end, there were millions of individual conversations buzzing around in the crowd. But almost all of them were centered around one question: When will A$AP Rocky start? At 9:12pm EST, our question was answered, with a bang. Crowd surfing around in an inflatable car, bullhorn in hand, Rocky showed off some new sounds as unreleased tracks (Grim Freestyle amongst the slew of unreleased tracks) boomed over speakers. Mosh pits opened up left and right as the concert slowly evolved into a beautiful, New York block party-esque chaos. Hearing recent work like his features on Slowthai’s MAZZA and Famous Dex’s PICK IT UP were unexpected yet gratifying moments. But what really amplified the crowd was hearing some of the “older” radio hits. I can’t remember a time in recent memory when I’ve been as excited as when the first synths on LPFJ2 and Telephone Calls hit. Classics like Praise Da Lord and Yamborghini High ensured that there were no lapses in energy or excitement. Babushka Boi set the crowd ablaze, as the off-key notes intermingled in the beat acted as cues for the rowdy meter to kick it up a notch. Rocky even gave up some of his set to ensure the rest of the Mob was represented, as he had the DJ play Plane Jane by A$AP Ferg. The softer side of Rocky’s discography was met with equal anticipation as Sundress and A$AP Forever were met with exuberant cheers. Fully embracing his trippy side, after asking us if we liked hallucinogens, Rocky performed L$D to a roaring crowd (he also teased us with the unreleased Mushroom Clouds after asking us if we fucked with mushrooms too). During what felt like a showcase of the Harlem rappers’ ability to generate raucous ovation, the time had the crew informed Rocky his set had to be wrapped up. An earnest plea to keep it going was made, begging to at least get off Peso, but the euphoria was always going to be finite. It’s safe to say, anyone saying Rocky fell off is full of it.
Burna Boy
From start to finish, Burna Boy kept it hot. Bringing plenty of Nigerian flair to the CitiField air, I can safely say that Burna Boy’s set was one of the most enjoyable of the weekend. Even before he appeared, loud chants imploring him to take the stage could be heard ringing throughout the grounds. As his band and mom (who doubles as his manager) patiently waited, you could see them grinning and laughing as they knew we were in for a great show. Burna Boy then graced the stage and we were transported to another world, filled with laid back vibes, political protest, and triumph. Opening up with Gbona, it was apparent that the entire show was going to be electric. Hitting dance moves, grinning from ear to ear, it was obvious that Burna Boy planned on making a stellar first impression at the Governor’s Ball (he also earned major New York brownie points by giving us an animated performance of his velvety feature on Enjoy Yourself by Pop Smoke). Hearing some of my favorite songs live cemented them even further in the favorites category, as his performance adds another level of fun and personality. Collateral Damage, a beautifully subverted political protest anthem, felt truly harmonious as the entire crowd chanted the chorus with their fists in the air. As much as I love my AirPods, the heartfelt energy of both the crowd and Burna Boy I felt in the crowd during Anybody and Dangote could never be matched by speakers. Even the less upbeat songs (such as Wetin Man Go Do) he performed were met with incredibly cheerful reactions as. Live riffs from the band during some of his most popular singles added great spice for those who are familiar but equally exciting for new listeners. It’s apparent that there’s a great sense of camaraderie amongst the whole crew, that their main goal is to put on a memorable and joyous show. I can only hope that Burna Boy and the band make trips to the states more frequently.
Ellie Goulding
Have you ever felt the urge to forget everything that’s worrying you and just live in the here and now? Then you should go to as many Ellie Goulding shows as humanly possible. There’s a good chance you’re already familiar with some of her work (I’ll get to that in a bit), but it’s an entirely other thing to see her bring them to life. Hidden under the surface of a soft-spoken, singer-songwriter is a powerhouse performer, ready to give the show and attendees her everything. Watching her confidence grow during the set, seeing her come out of a shell that had likely developed as a result of not touring, was a beautiful sight to behold. In between comments about how grateful she was to be performing, quips about her outfit, you really got to watch her conviction begin to grow and take root. Anthemic at every instance, the crowd was equally ready to return the same energy Goulding graced us with. The only thing that was all over the place about her refined and poised performance was the eclectic mix of work she pulled from. From Lights (and yes, if you’re curious, that shit slapped) all the way up to her latest album, Brightest Blue, we got treated to the Ellie Goulding evolution set. Intermingling a solid slate of collaborations like Diplo’s Close To Me (I don’t know if I’ve ever sung along as fervently as I did for that one), Calvin Harris’ I Need Your Love (okay, I lied, this is the one where I lost my voice), and Major Lazer’s Powerful, there was a reference point regarding how they discovered Goulding for everyone in the audience. Hearing oldies like Aftertaste, Anything Could Happen, and Only You instantly transported me to simpler times, back when bills and deadlines seemed like an abstract concept. In another edition of music star leads a sing-a-long, the crowd could have taken over for Lights and Love Me Like You Do. Thankfully, we got to hear Ellie too. It’s a magical moment when a few hundred (maybe a full thousand) are all united by one common goal: to embrace the present and shower the performer with adoration in the form of knowing every lyric. Harmony amongst total strangers, tied together through a common love of music. Ellie Goulding gave us more than one of the best sets from the weekend, she gave us a sense of unity and togetherness unlike any other I’ve experienced.
Post Malone
When you find a superstar, with millions of fans and millions in the bank, that you feel like you can still crack open a crispy Bud Light, you’ve found something special. And we all know that Post Malone loves a cold one. The final chapter of Governor’s Ball 2021 ended with Post Malone’s Sunday night set, a perfect way to wind down the weekend. Opening up the set with an inquisitive “Hello?” to test out the mic, this show was one of the most authentic and down-to-earth concerts I’ve been to in quite some time. It almost feels like you’re just hanging out hearing some song ideas from your friend Austin Post, wearing some regular denim shorts and a “Where’s Waldo” style striped shirt, until the audible roars from the crowd of “Posty” remind you you’re at a headliner. Arguably the most larger-than-life aspect of Post’s set was his entrance on the stage, via a smoke-cloud suspended platform adorned with metal chains. With a healthy mix of beerbongs & bentley’s, Hollywood’s Bleeding, recent singles and old hits, Post Malone was showing us all of his repertoire. Chugging beers at the request of the crowd, checking in with all of us in between songs, calling for celebration and happiness, Post goes to great lengths to ensure that the crowd is with it and that everyone is having a good time. Tracks like Psycho were somehow both relaxing and energizing at the same time, as the chorus transformed the venue into an incredible echo-chamber. We also got to see how many friends Post has, as we got guest appearances from Young Thug (performing Goodbyes), Roddy Rich (gracing us with Every Season and The Box), and 21 Savage (to perform Rockstar, which Post Malone did his best to embody all night). With each feature, the crowd seemed to kick into another fear of excitement, but that’s not to say people didn’t lose it for some of Post’s solo work. Stay, which Post performed seated strumming an acoustic guitar, was as heartfelt as it could get in its stripped down state. Despite previously admitting to not being able to sing without autotune, you could see how much he cared about capping off the weekend right while performing that song (without autotune in an effort to be as real as possible). White Iverson and Congratulations were both barn-burners, as the whole festival grounds were chanting lyrics and bouncing along. After a very long weekend of raging and raving, Post Malone’s set managed to run through the whole gambit of festival emotions: joy, excitement, surprise, and relief. It’d be disingenuous to say anything other than Austin Post has mastered the art of headlining.

So, When Can We Tell The World? {1} Min Yoongi x black! fem! reader
Tumblr media
Parts: 1 2 3 4  5 6
Pairing: Yoongi x reader
Summary: You and Yoongi have been collaborating for a few years, what the public world didn’t know however was that the both of you were in a happy, functioning relationship. After showing up to support at one of your shows, Yoongi suggests going public, making you anxious for him, but most of all your own well-being with his fans and of what the South Korean public would think of you.
Genre: Angst, Fluff, Romance, Idol-verse, Smut (hinted at in this part, but none explicitly)
Word Count: 2, 046
Author’s Note: So, here we are another series. I know too many, but this one will probably be the same chapter length as Shakespeare Sub, I promise. Anyways, I hope ya’ll enjoy it and if ya’ll have any BTS or EXO requests, send them my way. Thanks!
The last song of the concert always feels surreal. The stage isn’t huge, just a decent sized theater in Bluetsville(your hometown). It’s the thought that gets me, I’ve played at bigger venues before, yet coming back always gets me emotional. Once the song finishes I smile so hard my cheeks hurt and glance out into the crowd as applause fills the entire venue.
One person stands out the most with his over-sized black hoodie, glasses and a cap with my stage name on it. I wouldn’t have done a double take if he didn’t flash that familiar gummy smile, as if he knew I was going to look there. It’s only a moment, yet I recognize Yoongi’s smile anywhere, he hardly does it even around me. Maybe his fans don’t notice him but in that slip second I did as he claps the loudest before sending me his finger hearts. I start to do it back, but stop myself abruptly. No, that’ll just draw attention to us. It’s almost an exclusive k-pop gesture, which someone on Twitter could easily pick up on. Instead I send him a quick wink.
“Thank you so much!” I scream.
The crowd reacts in thunderous applause once more, I give one last bow and turn back towards the curtain, disappearing behind it.
***
I find myself dressed down in my dressing room, wearing one of Yoongi’s old hoodies, a snapback and grey sweats. My phone lights up abruptly, signalling an upcoming call from my brother, Kevin of all people.
“Sup loser,” I say through a low giggle.
“Yo idiot,” he answers back, “how’d the show go?”
I sigh with a dopey grin.
It was amazing. Even though the people packed together in swayed, waved and sung together like a frenzied horde, I couldn’t help but think back to Yoongi. I hope he got to wherever he needed to safely.
“Uh, did you hear me?” Kevin asks.
“Y-Yeah,” I say quickly, “it went amazing, a little more daunting compared to my first tour.”
Kevin gaffs.
“If that didn’t boost your chances at the Grammys, I don’t know what will!”
I chuckle against the phone at my brother’s words.
“I don’t think that’s how it works Kev,” I say, “I don’t really care, they invited me, I guess to preform.”
Kevin hums.
“Yeah?” he asks, “And what about ol’ Agust D, eh? he performing with you? I heard him and the guys were supposed to be there too.”
I can’t help but smile when he mentions Yoongi’s other rap persona. That album was what made me discover Yoongi’s music, along with BTS’s discography and eventually pushed me to want to collaborate with them. What I didn’t expect was to fall in love with Yoongi during our time recording All The Crown Players(a song from your album).
“I’m not really sure,” I say, “you know how they can be.”
“Oh, I know, how can they snub you twice!” Kevin whines, “anyway, I gotta go! Next time you talk to ol’ Suga tell him I said hey!”
I roll my eyes.
“I told you  to call him Yoongi,” I groan.
“Ey, that’s what the fans call him,” he says, “talk to you later, love you.”
“Love you too idiot,” I say.
Kevin starts to say something else but I hang up anyway. If he’s got something to do he won’t call back as fast and I won’t get another earful.
“That’s what you get for teasing me about my boyfriend,” I mutter to myself.
A text from Yoongi lights my phone up instead.
Yoongi: It amazes me every time you perform, God you were so amazing babe
My dopey smile returns once my fingers numbly tap the keypad in response.
Me: I saw you at the end! How the hell did you get in without anyone recognizing you?
Yoongi responds straight away.
Yoongi: I have my ways. I’ve been doing this for seven years sweetheart, I’ve mastered the art of incognito mode. 😎
My grin spreads out at his message. My fingers follow the lame joke that pops into my head, yet I couldn’t care less.
Me: So, what you’re Batman? No, Anpanman! 😂😂
I giggle out as Yoongi’s response takes a little longer, as it should. Between my lame jokes and Jin’s dad jokes I think he’s fed up with the both of us. At least with me it makes some sort of sense.
A moment passes, instead of a text back I get a call from Yoongi. Oh boy.
“Hello?” I answer.
“I know you’re laughing,” Yoongi says, “I just want to confirm that it wasn’t funny.”
I cover my mouth to stifle the remaining giggles that flood out.
“I know, but it’s true,” I say, “you are my Anpanman.”
Yoongi grumbles something that I can’t make out.
“Sorry babe, what was that?” I ask.
“Nothing Jagi,” he says, “anyway —”
“Yoongi,” I warn, “tell me, please?”
Yoongi sighs deeply.
“I said, I better be your Anpanman,” he admits, “are you happy now?”
“Yes,” I say, “how long are you gonna be here?”
“As long as you want me,” Yoongi answers, “we got a small break before Grammys and the MMAs. I was wondering if we could meet at your place.”
My heart hammers in my chest at his words. We’ve stayed with each other overnight before, yet I always feel like I’m some lovestuck teenager when I’m around Yoongi. We rarely get moments together, if it’s public we have to remain friendly, but not too friendly to raise dating suspicions. Even when he’s here in America it’s difficult to schedule time for each other. I’m an artist too and BTS is getting just as huge, the fact that Yoongi and I both have time before the Grammy’s is a God send.
“Y/N?” Yoongi asks, breaking me from my thoughts.
“Yeah, we can meet there,” I reassure, “you still have a key?”
“You know I do,” he says, “see you there.”
I bit my lip before humming in agreement.
***
The moment I step across the threshold of my house, I shut the door and twist the locks in place. A pair of strong arms wrap around my waist before I can get a chance to take my hands off the cold locks.
“I need to go to your shows more often,” Yoongi says.
I shiver at his breath near my ear and turn around in his arms to face him. He’s in his dark hoodie, but the hat is gone, revealing soft, short brown hair that falls into his eyes.
“You come when you can,” I say, “I’m just glad you got there safely.”
Yoongi chuckles while he moves a hand up to cup my face.
“You worry too much,” he notes, “I’m here, ok?”
His eyes soften as they bore into mine, he leans in to press our foreheads together. I follow his lead, our lips meet in a fierce kiss, something we haven’t been able to do in months. My fingers find themselves in his brown locks as he groans into the kiss, backing up slightly, yet not disconnecting from my lips.
I pull back with a giggle.
“Are you good?”
Yoongi nods and nudges his head towards my velvet sofa.
“I just wanted to take this to the couch,” he admits, “your concert took everything out of me.”
“Oh really?”
Yoongi nods as I take his hand and lead him to the sofa before we both plop down on it.
“Really,” he confirms with a kiss, “you kinda got me worked up actually.”
I return his kisses fully, pull myself up into his lap and rub down his chest.
“Is that in a good way?” I challenge.
Yoongi growls against my jaw, kissing down my neck as his hands rub up and down my sides.
“Oh it’s good baby, so good,” he groans, “God, tug your fingers in my hair again.”
I nod as our lips meet once again, my fingers find themselves in his hair as our make out continues. His moans make me smile, his hips bucking up against me as the kisses grow hungrier.
“You’re so needy,” I whisper, “do you need me to take care of that?”
Yoongi’s eyes close as he nods.
“Please, I, God, I love you,” he moans.
My hands freeze once I reach for the buckle of his pants. Did he just say the l word?
Yoongi opens his eyes, the lust that was once there is replaced with concern.
“Y/N?” he asks, “you all right?”
I nod and slide back onto the couch from his lap.
“Yeah,” I lie.
Of course I knew he loved me, he never says it though. I’m the one you says it, and Yoongi always responds with a “me too” or “love you more.” Never fully. It shouldn’t bother me much, yet it does for some reason.
“Y/N,” Yoongi says.
I look up and his face is only an inch from my own.
“Was that too much?” he asks, “what did I do wrong?”
I stroke his cheek and shake my head.
“Nothing, it’s just,” I pause before continuing, “it was just surprising to hear I love you from you.”
Yoongi pulls back to pull me into an embrace.
“You had me worried,” he whispers, “I know I need to say it more especially when we’re pressed for time together.”
I smile in the crook of his neck.
“No, it’s fine,” I say, “we can keep it between us.”
Yoongi pulls back with a puzzled glare.
“What do you mean?”
I sit up and gnaw at my lip.
“Maybe, we shouldn’t say it often, because I don’t want it to slip out at the wrong time,” I explain, “with ARMY and all those girls clawing at you.”
Yoongi chuckles as he leans in to plant a few kisses down my neck.
“Do they make you jealous?” he asks.
I can hardly focus as his lips continue to work.
“Well, a little,” I say, “it’s a lot to live up to.”
Yoongi grows serious. I end up against his chest as his arms wound themselves tightly around me. His heart beats rhythmically in tune with mine, forcing me to calm down just a bit.
“They don’t hold a candle to you,” he says, “I love them, but it’s a different type of love. You know I’d do anything for you, right?”
The words get lodged in my throat at the intense look Yoongi throws at me. He’s completely serious.
“Yoongi-”
“Y/N, I want to tell the world,” he admits, “ARMY, everyone.”
Where is he going with this?
“Yoongi, what are you-”
“We should be official,” Yoongi declares.
My mind goes haywire. He isn’t serious, right?
“But we are official,” I say, “Yoongi, we’ve already established that we’re dating.”
Yoongi shakes his head this time.
“Y/N you know what I mean,” he says, “I don’t want to hide anymore.”
A rush comes to my head at once. The headlines would be horrendous: “BTS star Suga has been revealed to be dating ‘urban’ Hip Hop artist Y/N Y/L/N.” Kpop Twitter will literally implode in on itself. Yoongi won’t get any rest and I won’t be able to live it down. If I was Korean maybe, just maybe I would get out alive, even if I was white too, but as a black woman? There’s not a chance in hell.
“Babe, please tell me what you’re thinking,” Yoongi pleads,”you’ve been quiet for awhile.”
“Yoongi, I don’t think that’s a good idea,” I say.
“How come?” he asks.
“Well, for one, do you know what happened with Chen? Kai? Jennie?” I ask, “the fans would devour me!”
“They wouldn’t,” he grumbles, “you’re an amazing person, singer, rapper and writer.”
“Yeah and black,” I say bluntly, “they can’t get past that.”
Yoongi takes both of my hands prior to squeezing tightly.
“I know, but they’ll just have to handle it, right?”
It’s like the words aren’t even being comprehended. Does he not hear me?
I inhale slowly and stand from the couch.
“Y/N-”
I give Yoongi an artificial smile, something to get him off my back for a moment.
“I-I’m ok, I-I just need some time to myself,” I say.
Yoongi deflates, but nods anyway before leaning back into the couch.

Battle of the Episodes: Celebrity Deathmatch: Rockstarmageddon Vs When Animals Attack
Tumblr media
Hello all you happy people! And welcome to a minty fresh new segment on the blog cooked up by longtime fan and friend of the blog weirdkev27, named by me: BATTLE OF THE EPISODES! In this new segment I take two similar episodes from a show or franchise and put them up against one another and see which ones better. He pitched the idea to me for something he could do, he had two patreon reviews free so I suggested why not do it in April and here we are!
Before I begin I will admit I’d forgotten PieGuyRulez had done a similar idea with his podcast ReCast, which I’d never seen and only vaugely heard of. However I feel what i’m doing here is still diffrent enough to keep doing, I have nothing but respect for the guy, and I promise to not do any topics he’s done. If you have any suggestions for this new segment, i’d love to hear them. I already have another one in mind for when I have a free moment on the schedule that I simply didn’t get around to next month.
But for our innugural contest, Kev being the one who pitched it picked the show and it’s a show i’m only passingly familiar with as I did see bits of it growing up: Celebrity Deathmatch. Celebrity Death Match was a late 90′s and early 2000′s tv show on MTV with a revivial on MTV2. It was born both out of a short done for MTV’s Cartoon Sushi, their equilvent of Oh Yeah Cartoons! and What a Cartoon, pitting Charles Manson against Marilon Manson, and that short was popular enough to lead to a special after the superbowl. Said special ended up being the highest rated progam MTV had broadcast at the time, so naturally it got a four season series.
The premise is exactly what it says: two celebrties battle it to the death in goofy claymation fights, one shall stand, one shall fall. Meanwhile our hosts Johnny and Nick banter and set up the fights, talk to interviewers etc. It’s essentially a combination of wrestling and celebrity mockery, and unsuprisingly given MTV’s teen audience who loved pop culture and a bit of the ultra violence it was a massive hit.
The show later got a revivial a few years after it ended on MTV2, which fans often derided and which I saw more of as I was watching MTV2 at the time... look i’m not proud of the fact i watched “Where My Dogs at?” and i’m even less proud I watched “The Adventures of Chico and Guapo”. But with shows like that you can imagine how high quality the reboot was and how much fans flocked to it. Me I never took to either incarnation. I don’t HATE the show and do appricate it’s gorgeous claymation and copious use of Stone Cold Steve Austin. I love that beer drinking, hell raising, boss humliationg hellion, it’s just the combination of modern celebrity mockery, something that rarely ages well unless the joke is just funny on it’s own, and ultra violence never appealed to me as I was a pretty squeamish kid and teen.. i’ve grown out of that, but I just had no real desire to go back. It’s not a bad show but it’s not really one for me, but I get why i’ts well loved and popular.
But being a death match fan, and given the similar premisses, Kev picked this to be our inagural contest. Pitting the original against the reivvial. For this he went with two death match time machine episodes: the original’s finale rockstarmageddon and the revivial’s when animals attack. Each episode has it’s own unique theme within the general theme of a dead person versus their successor... and a very much alive person one or both of the hosts thought was dead versus their succesor as a joke: the first is about rockstars and their supposed imitators, the second is about putting two animal themed people against one another.
Each Battle of the Episodes will have diffrent comparisons as every show or franchise is different, comics are also open for this by the by. So for this one i’ll be comparing time machine use, the person explaning the machine, individual episode theme, the joke about one of the “dead” combatants turning out ot be alive, and each of the three matches.  How many will also very, either 5 or 7 depending on how many talking points i have. So with that in mind LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLE under the cut and see which episode walks away a champion and which episode walks away a bloody pile of clay on the floor.
Tumblr media
Doing the matches first as a lot of this stuff overlaps with the later bits.
Round 1: Lenny Kravitz Vs Jimmy Hendrix VS Horatio Sanz Vs Chris Farley Whelp this was a bad start to BOTH episodes as these matches are the worst of each episode and all 6 matches period. So it’s less which is better as both are a black hole of comedy.. and more which one sucks slightly less.
The Jimmy Hendrix vs Lenny Kravitz bout is just.. a black hole of comedy, It’s VERY clear the writers hated Kravitz but to me in 2020.. it just hasn’t aged well. I just don’t CARE about Lenny Kravitz. He had maybe one good song, are you gonna go my way, and that’s it. He was not good.. but he was an easy target for the time and an easily forgotten one now. It’s not smart, clever or even cathartic to watch him die. He’s also nowhere similar enough to Hendrix for the comparison to work: for one he had a vastly diffrent look most of the times and for another at most both played guitars and were not white. That’s it.  It just dosen’t work.
The finisher here is just also... one of the objectively worst grossout bits i’ve seen in animation and i’m almost 30. That’s a LOTTTT of stupid gross gags that aren’t funny. The two vomit into each others mouths. Yes really. Not only is this really disprectful to hendrix death, as ODing on drugs is not something I really find funny nor the show makes funny, but it’s just.. horrifying to think about and gross and makes me want to , ironically enough, vomit thinking about. it’s just deeply unpleasant easily the worst thing i’ve encountered in my time reviewing so far, and it’s going to be a hard bar to clear. This match sucked and it left a bad taste in my mouth.
Now as for the Horatio Sanz vs Chris Farley Match...
Tumblr media
I honestly have never seen Horatio Sanz that i’m aware of and unlike Kravitz who at least is mildly memorable if not a very good musician, Sanz has just been.. forgotten. I don’t know anything about him and once again it feels like the show punching down, picking an easy target versus a legend.
And speaking of easy targets the entire segment is just fat jokes. Just a ton of fat jokes. No really, it’s a battle of “Hog vs hog”, chris eats a lot and hte main joke is Chris Farley can’t stay alive long enough to fight. That being said while I find the joke in VERY poor taste, as Farley died of a heart attack and was a really good person and having his death be a punch line just bothers me.... I’ll admit it’s at least clever to have one of the death match time machine contestants come back again, and again, and again. It’s not Funny, it’s horrific.. but I can at least say they put in some effort ofr that one gag and given the horrifying lack of effort for the other match this one BARELY gets the W Winner: When Animals Attack:
Round 2: Shaggy vs Bob Marley VS Christan Bale vs Adam West
This one’s a no contest... seriously the gulf between jokes is wide and deep.
The Shaggy Vs Marley bout is the best of Rockstarmageddon. It’s funny, the target actually deserves being made fun of as Shaggy was a talent vacum and is memorably bad in comparison to Kravitz, so I still like seeing him get roasted, and they find a lot of funny jokes to do with Bob Marley. I only have a passing familiarity with the guy and while they do the obvious weed joke, they also have him ask for a tiny hammer or a small axe, beat shaggy with his dreads and after using a ring post to kill him, MAKING HIS REMAINS INTO A BONG (hilariously called a “legal novelty smoking device by the commentators). This match shows me why the show was popular: not every match was GOOD.. but the ones that were were creative and a joy to watch. While I sitll feel it’s mildly punching down, it’s funny enough I don’t care.
Bale Vs West just sucks both by comparison and just in general; The IDEA of having the current Batman at the time and the 60′s one duke it out is great.. but it’s very clear they didn’t like Batman begins nor have any actual christian bale jokes. While this was pre terminator rant and the much more iconic dark knight, if they didn’t have any good jokes , why do this. They just have nothing and are insulting a legitimately good movie instead of making anything funny and making cracks about everyone thinking Adam West is dead. More on that in a bit, but it’s just really not funny and really wasted my time... though West turning him into a batsignal of the cross was clever i’ll admit.
Winner: Rockstarmageddon
Round 3: Dave Matthews vs Keith Richards VS Jamie Fox vs Ray Charles
Another mistmatch.. but this time in the opposite direction.
Dave Matthews Vs Keith Richards sucks. While there are some good gags up top, we’ll get to that in it’s own section, the match itself just isn’t funny and I really don’t get comparing the stones to dave matthews band. the two bands aren’t remotely similar. The most clever it gets is Dave injecting Richards with his blood, which mellows him out but also revitalizes Richards. There’s a few good jabs at richards but otherwise just nothing of susbtance and like Kravitz Dave Matthews Band has been largely forgotten and unlike Kravitz or Shaggy, just doesn’t seem like as valid a target.
Fox vs Charles on the other hand was a great misdirect, changing his opponent and “punking” fox, forcing him to go from someone he was ready to throw down with to someone he rejects. There are way too many mr mcgoo style I’M BLINDDDDD gags, but Fox is a much more deserving target, and they had far more clever gags, with charles pulling out a cat o n grammys, and using a piano to finish Jamie. It’s nothing GREAT... but at least it’s actually funny and actually picked a good target for the time, if not one that has aged well.
Winner: When Animals Attack. 1 to 2
Round 4: Who Used the Time Machine Better?
Narrowly .. rockstarmageddon. While it had the same justification for it, the original taking on an upstart attempted replacement, the keith richards gag we’ll get to in a second is better than the farley gag for not being grossly insensitive and unfunny. But neither really use it well; Rockstarmageddon just uses it to mock artists they like and Animals uses it because the first one did. Neither really had a clever idea for it other than “get it this person sucks compared to that one.
Winner: Rockstarmageddon. 2 to 2
Episode Theme:
Similar to the time machine, this one comes down to which one had the better indvidual theme... and i’d have to say it’s Rockstarmageddon. It used the theme POORLY, but at least it both had an interesting idea, dead rock stars vs their successors in modern day, versus an easy one (animal matchups) it abandoned for the final match and used REALLY fucking insultingly in the first match. Seriously I don’t mind a WELL done fat joke, as an overweight guy myself, but this was just...
youtube
In it’s purest form.
Winner: Rockstarmageddon 3 to 2
Special Guest:
Each episode had a guest for the time machine... and this one is again no real contest, Rockstarmageddon wins.
For Rockstarmageddon the show brought back frequent guest star , wrestling legend Stone Cold Steve Austin, who I enjoy and was indeed part of my childhood and star of many video games and one of my brother’s all time favorite wrasslers. The show contrasts his blue collar hellion image with him having made the machine, getting quantum mechanics and unlike nick getting that Keith Richards is dead. Austin clearly gets the show, is fully on board playing along and has fun escorting Hendrix back to the machine and getting his revenge on Nick for doubting him that Keith Richards was alive. He just fits perfectly into the show.
The revival.. could not get him, likely because he didn’t want to or saw the script and rightfully stone cold stunnered them, i.e. what he shoudl’ve done when Adam Sandler offered him Grown Ups 2. Seriously Adam why bring him in if he’s not going to do something wrestling related to you? This is why people don’t like your films. That and you keep giving your old buddy rob increasingly racist work. And david spade work. And nick swarsdon work. Please do keep giving Shaq work though he’s actually not half bad.
So instead they bring in Einstein and the joke.. is that he swears a lot and drinks a lot and pulls his pants down at the end.> That.. that’s it. I mean the original , at least the episode given to me, didn’t make a GREAT impression, but at least it was creative. The Reboot came off as shockingly lazy and half assed, with lesser voice actors for our hosts and far less effort put in and this is the biggest emblem of that. Soooo
Winner; Rockstarmageddon 4 to 2
Final Round: Their Not Dead
The final round is a short one and while the winner is already decided, might as well. Both episodes do a joke about one of the guests NOT being dead.. but once again Rockstar is more clever about it. Nick is CERTAIN Keith Richards is dead, and forces Stone Cold to bring him to the present... only for Keith to show up, and there be two keiths. One fades away due to time travel stuffs, a REALLy damn good gag, and Nick’s dogged instance he’s not dead despite everyone knowing he isn’t is just damn funny.
IN contrast all they have for the late great Adam West.. is insisting he’s dead. That’s it. that’s all they got. It’s not funny, it’s disprectful to Adam who while not an a list actor did a ton of stuff after batman. I mean the simpsons alone should shut them the fuck up...
youtube
This one short gag is a MUCH better one than that entire 7 minutes. It was also DEEPLY uncomfortable now Adam’s passed. So naturally
The Winner of this Segment and Overall; Rockstarmageddon.
I wouldn’t say I LIKED either episode this go round, both had some pretty bad spots..but it’s very clear that while the original had it’s flaws, it was creative, had tons of energy, and a great voice cast. The revivial... has a good chris farley impersonator and that’s it. It’s very clear the people behind the reboot just don’t get the show and are doing the lazy bare minimum. While I didn’t LIKE most of the matches in Rockstarmageddon, I can at least respect the craftmanship: the animation, host jokes and energy is just BETTER. There’s a care and craft the revivial dosen’t have and the drop in quality is noticeable.
So yeah overall the original wins.. but the episode chosen clearly wasn’t it’s best. That being said both had some good moments, and I would be open to watching more if any one wants to comission it. This experiment has been intresting so let me know in the comments if you want to see more of these and i’ll see you at the next rainbow. And please join my patreon at patreon.com/popculturebuffet.

Long answer ask: 2, 8 🙂
2. What's your top 5 songs at the moment and why?
Ohhhhh let's go 🙆‍♀️
1. A.C.E - Goblin (Favorite Boys)
This was my first A.C.E song I listened and it got me hooked on these five boys that has become so important to me. I love to troll my family nowadays just yelling randomly "LOUDER"
2. Pentagon - Naughty Boy
This song just simply makes me happy every time I hear the first notes. The self sound of the song is just so incredibly happy it forces me to smile. All in all, this song is a masterpiece
3. The Rose - She's in the Rain
This song... I mean this song... I got no words. This has become my healing song, whenever I feel helpless and depressed, I put this song on and just listen to Woosung singing
She's in the rain, You wanna hurt yourself, I'll stay with you
You wanna make yourself go through the pain, It's better to be held than holding on
4. A.C.E - Clover
I love this song, I love the lyrics. My boi Junhee has this talent. This is the first song of A.C.E I learned by heart, with my self-made Korean of course. I love how my bois just harmonize p-e-r-f-e-c-t-l-y 😭 this is also the one song that I feel that I need to get on my skin. It's just something that I need to do someday, this is my "let's cry as loud as we can in the shower while listening to this to feel better" song
5. A.C.E - SAVAGE
People, if you haven't listened to this bop, make sure to listen to it ASAP. This has it all, it has beat, it has lyrics, it has VOCALS, it has RAP, it has it all. Where's the Grammy?
우린 삐딱선
BONUS because we all know I can't count
A.C.E - 5TAR
I can't believe that I have lived these years only thinking "oh there can't be any other than BTS in my life, I won't listen to any other group". How stupid can one be? I have missed this because of my stupid small minded head.
Listening to this song for the first time just made me realize how I have gotten into the right group and the right group has found me. I have always been like this with music, I live it with my whole heart and mind. And when something hits it hits hard.
These five boys, Junhee, Donghun, Sehyoon, Byeongkwan and Yuchan, making this track, won my heart and they are in my heart to stay. The lyrics hit me so hard, I cry everytime I listen to this song. This is my comfort-song.
8. Talk about a band you loved as a teenager
..... Well girl..... 😂
Let's talk about One Direction. It was 2012 when I heard What Makes You Beautiful and I remember I was with my ex-boyfriend at that time still together and I asked him to listen that. He said that's some real shit. Well I loved it, these 5 BROTHERS singing together. Yes, I believed they were brothers about half year before I found the cruel truth. My little sister was already so big Directioner and I couldn't bare to admit that we had the same music taste cause we hated each other at that time. Then in 2013 I left to Sweden for exchange and that year we became so close because of 1D. We would talk about the boys all day long and we sent each other memes of them, I remember I had about 10 thousand pictures of them at that time on my phone.
They were my teenage. I went to see them with my sister in 2014 in Stockholm and in 2016 in Helsinki. The best thing in human history was Zayn leaving, I never liked him. THERE I said it. And Helsinki concert without him was AMAZING.
If I think about the years, and what they meant to me at that time, I think it did not do good for me to actually stan them. I think it's toxic to bullied girls like me to hear boys telling them what they "want to hear". I got so much comfort only to listen "that's what makes you beautiful" and they were talking about looks the whole time. So I would like to tell 16-year old Vilma... Think twice what to blindly believe.
Thank you so much for asking love! ❤️

PR time line.............
Some can't seem to understand, how Shmila could have helped Camila get out of the PR with the con man. Let's explore the time line and maybe you'll have a better understanding of where I'm coming from.
Camila's debut album, had an original release date, of September 2017. She would have signed a PR contract with Ew, probably late August. These PR contracts are usually for a period of time, but the start and end dates, are flexible, because of the release dates of the Artists music being flexible.
Camila probably found out, sometime in late August, that her release date was being pushed, to November. That's why she followed the con man on SM, in October. They were preparing to unleash the PR, after the release of her album, in probably early December. Just in time for the holidays.
But, her album got pushed, yet again. The new date was January 12, 2018. She does the Elvis Duran radio show, on January 11. That is the first time we hear her or anyone else, utter that fuckers name.
The next morning, she does GMA. They schedule Con to appear on the same show. Why? To give us a PUBLIC reason for them meeting and the ensuing "relationship".
Three days later, Camila does Beats 1, with Zane Lowe. That's when we got the "maybe" when asked if she had a special someone in her life. Also, the whole, "I can't say your name without smiling" bullshit.
Then on February 9. 2018, we got the E-News exclusive Mexico beach photo-shoot. That's the day the actual PR began. They had signed the actual contract, MONTHS before, but because the album kept getting pushed, so did the start date for the PR.
That being said, I'm almost certain, they only signed a 1 year contract. I'll explain. We got their one year of public bullshit, but it really got laid on thick towards the end. If you notice, they did the same thing with Lauren and Tyrone. (It stayed pretty much SM until closer to the end, when they started doing red carpets and showing up to Industry events together.)
They did the "family" holiday thing, with both families, in December and January. Then on February 1, we got the pap pics of them leaving the movies, where Camila looks upset, and Con looks pissed. We also get turfers and "fans" taking to SM saying they had been arguing and Camila had been crying. That was the start of the "trouble in paradise" narrative.
The 10th was the Grammy's. After that, they both left for Dubai, and Camila's performance at Red Fest. They spent a few days hobnobbing around the Arabian Desert, taking lots of pics. Supposedly all happy. Then on February 25, Camila took his ass to that Vanity Fair shin-dig. That was their supposed public coming out, together. Camila had zero desire to be there with that fucker, and it showed.
Then, we got Camila's birthday post, on March 3. The things she learned when she was 21. A very interesting post, indeed. Number three, on that list, was talking about how complicated life and relationships are. How the right opportunity comes at the wrong time, and having to do something hard and uncomfortable, to be happy. (yeah, like PR)
Then she talks about how falling in love is the best thing ever. That leads us to number 8. There she says, life is to short, to hang with people you don't like, be in relationships with people that don't make you happy, or do things you hate. (yeah, like PR with an asshole)
Then MFP was released on March 25. In a song, with a video dedicated to people in relationships, Camila tells the world, she dedicated MFP to her favorite person, her little sister. (that's so sweet...but also very telling)
Why are those two things important? Because I firmly believe, the "split" announcement, and the official end to her PR, was supposed to happen in March.
So, what happened? Just like there is no official start date in a PR contract, there isn't an official end date, either. It's just a suggested time frame, of 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, etc. There are no hard dates built in, because in the Music Industry, everything is about timing.
Here's how I think it was supposed to go down. I think the announcement was supposed to come, just before the release of MFP. That would have explained the dedication to her sister, and would have given that song more promo.
But probably more importantly, It would have been perfect timing for FYA, if things had played out the way they were supposed to play out. She recorded that song with Mark, back in January. I think FYA was the song Mark was planning to release, with the pre-order link, which was on April 12. It would have been the best song to release with the link, and a public "split" would have been perfect timing for the release with the pre-order link. It would have gotten a shit load of media attention.
Instead, Epic got pissed, because Camila wasn't doing what they wanted her to do. It wasn't a damn song with Canada, Camila didn't want to do. She's game to collab with Canada, and just about anyone else who wants to collab with her. It was a PR relationship with him, they wanted her to agree to, but she didn't want to do.
When are some of you going to open your eyes and realize that. Her and Canada are real life friends. She'd probably agree to release a collab a year with him, if that's what he wanted. It's just music. A PR relationship, on the other hand, is a completely different story.
Epic, Island, and maybe Andrew, didn't JUST want a song. They wanted that song, to come with the bullshit we are getting now. Camila agreed to the song, but not the PR. So, what did Epic do? They delayed the official "split" with the dickhead.
Camila bought her house in April. They delayed the announcement of the purchase, until May 13, and had his name inserted into the damn article. Making it sound like she was going to be sharing her house with his ass. Did he ever step foot in her house?
Camila went to Italy in early May. They made it look like he went with her. He may have been there, but he didn't go "with" Camila. He was there to promote one of his books. She was there to get away from all the bullshit. They did have her walk through the airport with him, when they arrived back to LA, on May 12. The 13th, we got the article about the house. May 14, was the last pics we got of the two together.
On May 20, Camila posted one of the saddest pics, I've seen. You could tell, she was anything but happy. That's the day they want us to believe Ewmila "broke up". So, what could have happened between their supposed happy romantic trip to Italy, and the 20th? Absolutely nothing...with Ewmila. They were nothing to each other. Camila just wanted that motherfucker out of her life.
On May 24, we got the post saying, "the calm before the storm, with the 6 tornado emoji's. 4 days, after that very sad looking pic, she warned us this shitshow was coming.
On May 27, we got the pics of Camila and Canada eating outside, and the first media hits, asking "are they dating". Publicist planted that shit. May 30, FYA was released. June 8, Camila went to perform on stage with Alejandro Sanz, with no con artist in sight. June 18, she went to have her little chat at Cannes. She posted a pic, with the caption, "looks put together on the outside, but a mess on the inside". (or something close to it) That's also the day we got the first teasers of Senorita. The song and video was released on the 21st. Nothing but PR bullshit after that.
That's the time line, of how all this shit went down. That sad emotional pic, on the 20th, was a genuine sadness. She was an emotional mess, and NOT because of a "break-up". I think, that is the day, she gave in to the pressure, and made the decision to do the PR with Canada.
She wanted out of that PR shitshow with dickhead. The Label could have kept it going, as long as the dickhead agreed to keep it going, and why wouldn't he. It was getting him the attention he wanted. He didn't give a shit, it was causing her anxiety and emotional distress. (Matthew Hussey is a NARCISSISTIC PRICK, that's all about himself. The Label didn't give a shit, either. They just wanted their artist to do what they wanted her to do. IN MY OPINION!!!)
It really doesn't take that long to record and master a single. By the time they were seen eating together, on the 27th, they had probably already recorded the song, and were discussing the visuals for the video. They filmed it the first week of June or so.
I'm pretty sure, in my thoughts, that Camila only agreed to do this shit, if it was the song of her choice, the video visuals of her choice, and her team doing it. The song she chose, was HER song, Señorita. It wasn't difficult to figure out who that song was about. That's why Epic wouldn't allow her to release it, on her own. But, in a duet with Canada, they were fine with it.
This was all decided on, and done very quickly. That's how they were able to keep it a "secret". From agreement to roll out, it was all done in a months time.
So yeah, that's how I came to my conclusion, that Canada actually "helped" her get out of her PR shitshow with the Con man. How it was her song that was chosen. Her Label was pressuring her, to do this PR stunt with Canada, since 2018. Island and Epic, both wanted it. The song was just the pathway to get the PR started.
Camila is getting shit on, for something BOTH sides were pressuring and down right manipulating/coercing her to do. SHE DIDN'T WANT TO DO IT!!! Canada didn't really want to do it, either. But he's so damn scared of getting publicly outed, and it ruining his career, that he was willing to do anything to keep that from happening.
The only BAD GUYS, in all this shit, is Epic, Island, Andrew, and Roger. THEY are the ones so hell bent on keeping their clients "straight", and making a shit load of money off them, while they are being locked in their glass closet.
Roger should have put his foot down, and told Epic to make the public announcement, of the "split" back in May. Hell, he should have "leaked" the shit himself, on the 20th, when Camila posted that pic, if nothing else. That's why I place blame on him, for the way Camila is being portrayed by others.
The Sun, had the information for a while. They were told to sit on that information, until Epic was ready for the public announcement to be made. That's why the report started with, "I can reveal ...". Not, "this just in", or "Sources have confirmed", but "I can reveal".
The definition of reveal, for those who aren't sure...reveal: make (previously unknown or secret information) known to others....Yep, they sat on the info, until they were told to "reveal" it.
Agree or not, believe or not, that's my take on all this shit. This is how my mind connected all the fucked up dots.

I could stay.
Every album has come at the perfect time in my life when I needed it most and because of that the albums make me remember those times, maybe just in flashes, but even if it’s a not so great flashback, I look back on it with happiness and that I genuinely believe is thanks to you, @taylorswift
Since I was a sophomore in high school when Red came out I think I really can explain what I said above for the past 3 albums more clearly...but it goes for debut through Speak Now as well. Let’s do each album, shall we?
Taylor Swift - the album had been released a bit by the time I heard songs from it. I was performing in my school’s talent show and this meant 2 performances because my very catholic elementary school made us audition to see if what we were doing was appropriate and to plan out the order I guess. I was playing classical piano, which I’ve done since I was 3. There was a girl named Carly who was 2 years older than me and she was auditioning with a song I’d never heard. It was called Our Song and it was catchy as HELL. (My fifth grade self knew what was UP) She sounded great too, so she got into the talent show but rumor had it they didn’t want the word “kiss” in a song that was to be performed (remember the “very catholic” part? Yup.) - so I heard another catchy as hell song but this time it was one where my mind AND my heart went, “wow....that’s how I feel about life” and it’s still accurate to the way I feel about that PERFECT song today: that song was A Place in this World. I was going into middle school. Middle school, high school...we can all agree we see their problems...bullying is unfortunately real. With your self titled debut album I finally had songs I discovered on my own, nothing against the music my brothers always played for me (Coldplay, Green Day, the Foo Fighters, The Lonely Island - yes I’m on a BOAT, motherf****** I’m sorry I get really into it) - I had anthems thanks to you, I also thought HARD about love cause even at that age I crushed on guys a lot but all in my head because boys are weird. Still are. Onto Fearless....
Fearless. Soon after the talent show, I mean a year or two, my mom got me Fearless after a piano jury. I flipped through the lyric booklet. It was like reading a prize winning book. (Ayyy Grammys foreshadowing) and the SONGS...I was in middle school. 7th grade I believe...and guys would play stupid but hurtful pranks on me and I had a great group of friends but the hurt definitely got to me...but I had an album telling me that yeah sure- “they might be bigger, but we’re faster and never scared..you can walk away, say we don’t need this; but something in your eyes says we can beat this”. I had an album that gave me a song my mom and i smile so big during cause without my mom and without our little mom & daughter trips downtown (dc) or to New York in the holidays, or just taking a walk or browsing in random stores, I don’t know where I’d be but I know my happiness wouldn’t exist. I again had anthems as well as slower songs that taught me about love. And little did I know Fifteen would be THAT song I needed for the high school journey that was growing closer and closer.
Speak Now. That powerful fairytale of an album written entirely only by you, Taylor. I was about to enter high school - an all girls high school. Also around this time I started watching SNL every week thanks to your time as host AND musical guest during the Fearless era and watching that show is a favorite Saturday night activity now. I used to (i still kinda do this) have to convince myself whatever feelings i felt re: mainly crushes were valid instead of just thinking they were. I always thought I was being irrational. I’d think up scenarios in my mind of spilling the feelings and having it go perfectly. Those scenarios never happened in real life. I guess I told myself I wasn’t good enough for whoever I liked to like me back. Unfortunately that mindset still exists...I tend to go, well this kind of guy would never...and it hurts. And I’m hurting myself by doing that. So Speak Now was the epitome of you, Taylor, being the person who can perfectly illustrate whatever feelings we all have, but using your own examples. I’d need TED talks on feelings and owning your heart and Speak Now was that 24/7 TED talk. Especially with Enchanted. “The words I held back” there are so many words I want to say to honestly every guy I’ve had an actual crush on. (I specify “actual” because one of the first crushes I had turned out to be a douchebag! Fun!!!) and then again with Mean, that helped me and still does when I encounter bullies. I encountered bullies (and cyberbullies! FUN!!) in middle & high school a LOT. But I did grow to be “big enough so they can’t hit me” - I’m still quite short, but you get my point. And Never Grow Up was again a reality check for me growing up, and the lyrics were so real that sometimes I couldn’t listen to it when it came on shuffle or on the CD because sometimes you can’t deal with that reality. But it’s a favorite song and I’m forever grateful it exists. Long Live is the song that is a full on letter to the friends and family members who have helped me grow and become who I am and weren’t temporary and didn’t make me feel bad about myself. They all have crowns in my opinion. (Lover - Out August 23) Speak Now was also the first TOUR of yours I attended and I remember being speechless seeing you rise out of the stage. And hearing your voice telling me “I don’t think you should wait, I think you should speak Now” - truly those words are the reason I have in the past several years told guys how I’ve felt. It’s never worked out but telling them lifted weights off my shoulders and it’s never been a negative experience. Seeing that tour live in all its theatrical, magical goodness made me the happiest person ever.
Red. I have a weirdly clear memory of driving to target with a friend after school let out in 2012 to buy a copy of Red before rehearsals started for Hairspray, the show we were doing that fall. I didn’t have a way to listen to it at school yet so I just kinda held it and stared at it. True story. To me, Red was the Speak Now that dealt with bullies and was better for it and came out stronger than ever. Red again was like wow does Taylor know exactly what I’m feeling? It wasn’t even a QUESTION. I Almost Do - again with the speaking now. And the line in Treacherous - “I can’t decide if it’s a choice, getting swept away” is everything I feel all the time SWEPT into a BEAUTIFUL SENTENCE. And with your words since the very first album I’ve felt like wow she seems like my best friend. And it’s beautiful.
1989. While it goes for every album, this was the first time I remember having a lightbulb moment of holy crap I needed this album at this moment as a 17 year old driving to college with my mom. At least..i heard Shake It Off while attempting to listen to the livestream on my phone. That’s kinda what college is, or what it can be - shaking it off, a new you but the same you. Literally though - you shaped that beautiful album around finding yourself when you didn’t have to necessarily in love in a big city. My city was Chicago, but the sentiments are the same. (Go ramblers!!!) It was tough, adapting to a big school and making all new friends - and I didn’t really have an actual group of friends until sophomore year. Now I can’t get rid of them and that’s the best thing, I love em with my whole heart. 1989 still helped me be like oh these feelings are valid, and like “god I’ve felt that way more than once...thank goodness for Taylor” - referencing specifically I Wish You Would - cause I didn’t have in depth conversations about anything like that with anyone. 1989 gave me dancy, positive, self confident vibes and I rode that positivity train through college.
reputation. Speaking of riding a positivity train through college...there were low points along that journey. reputation came in 2017, during my senior year of college. Going out into the “real world”. The year before was 2016 - a year that gave me unforgettable study abroad experiences and honestly helped me grow so much in happiness and in general - I actually spent that summer canvassing and phone banking for Hillary Clinton, I was so fired up. That fire went out for a brief, heartbreaking moment in November 2016. I cried all night, and then each night after that for 3 days; sometimes calling my mom and grandma, sometimes just remembering how hopeful I was. And how far it felt like we had to go. The fire came back, and I was angry but empowered. Cue senior year. I was taking all the classes I loved and writing kickass papers about political violence as well as the amazing book Gabriel by Georges Sand which challenges gender norms, and I felt ready but also not ready for whatever was next after graduation come May 2018. November 2017, réputation came into our lives. Like 1989, it was a well rounded story I needed to propel me through whatever came next, but different...I knew I needed to have more of a “take no shit” attitude and rep really helped me with that. Hell, I definitely credit listening to I Did Something Bad on my way to a morning class with helping me be brave enough to raise my hand because I KNEW what I had to say and I KNEW it was good enough and I just HAD TO be BRAVE enough to say it. “I’m doing better than I ever was...” = same way I felt and honestly that’s in a large part thanks to you.
So now I’m not in school anymore, I graduated in May 2018, and I’m still trying to find a place in this world. I live with some of my best friends in Chicago, I’m trying to work on a campaign soon, currently working retail at a crafty store, and when I don’t think I’m going anywhere I remember that I have to own who I am and embrace my creativity and my passions - and take the occasional break to help plan my friend’s 23rd birthday party which has themed everything so gotta get to work on that. And Lover? There’s NO doubt in my mind it will be any different in terms of coming at the perfect time in my life. And I know this: it’ll be magical. Thank you Taylor. Sorry this is an actual essay, I love you always.

* * * * *
"Magnus! Magnus, over here!"
Magnus merely waved at the eager paparazzi, camera flashes making it seem like there was a strobe light going off. There were people lining the red carpet behind the barriers, photographers desperate for the perfect shot of one of the most popular music stars of the current era.
Alec was glued to Magnus' side, eyes never staying on one area for too long, and his hand never left Magnus' lower back as they wove around interviews and lined up guests.
These events were thankfully heavy on security, but if there was anything Alec had learned lately, it was that he could never be too careful when it came to Magnus' safety.
"Magnus Bane!" the TV host cried when they reached her, and Magnus pulled her into a hug. "Tell me, Magnus, how excited are you for tonight? You are up for three Grammys this evening! That's incredible!"
"Well, I'm not Taylor Swift or Adele, so I hope I at least take home one. But truly, just being here is as much a reward as any. Getting a chance to celebrate so much talent in one evening." Magnus said smoothly, not batting an eye at the camera man stepping in for a closeup.
Alec stayed to the side, itching to get Magnus back in his orbit, and he kept his eyes trained on the crowd and impending guests.
"Well, I know you don't need it, but good luck tonight. Have fun!" the host said, waving at the next celebrity before pressing a quick kiss to Magnus' cheek.
Magnus smiled in return before leading the way down the carpet, Alec immediately gravitating to his side again.
"I know you can't help yourself, but since you are technically my date by default, relationship status notwithstanding, can you at least try to look like you aren't trying to murder everyone with a simple look?" Magnus said to him in an undertone, eyes sparkling with mischief.
Alec rolled his eyes. "I can't relax until I know you're safe, so this is just my face."
"Alexander. I feel perfectly safe with you by my side. Now can you please try to make me look like a half-decent boyfriend?"
Alec chuckled, and Magnus reached up to stroke his cheek affectionately.
"There's that gorgeous smile. I would like more of that, please."
Alec couldn't keep his smile at bay after that, especially with Magnus looking up at him like he was one of the seven wonders of the world.
"You look amazing tonight. You sure you want to imply I'm your date when you'll no doubt have half the audience on their knees begging for a chance with you?"
"Mm I'd much rather have you on your knees."
Alec knew he walked into that one. He continued on, ignoring Magnus' smugness. "I wish I was sitting with you, but it makes more sense to have me near the stage, especially for when you present and when you win."
"If I win."
"When." Alec argued. "Look, I see what you do each day on stage. I see the fans reactions firsthand to your very presence. Your talent is limitless. You are going to win."
"I'm not the only talented person here, Alec. Hence why it is a nomination, not an outright award. And it's an honour—"
"Don't say 'to be nominated'."
"Well it is!" Magnus laughed.
Raphael came down the carpet, Luke in tow, and raised an eyebrow at the pair.
"Do you guys ever stop bickering?" he drawled.
Magnus shrugged.
Raphael looked around, trying to peer over heads but his height not helping. "Great turnout as always. Gotten starstruck yet?"
"Not yet. Don't ask that like you didn't nearly pass out when you saw Tan France at the last award show we attended together."
Alec turned to Luke, tuning out Raphael's protests. "Andrew is already inside. These events have their own high level of security given the prestige of the event, so we don't need a big team. You and I will be backstage and he'll be down in the auditorium but on the sidelines."
Luke nodded.
"Good luck, Magnus. I have a good feeling about your wins tonight—I think you'll be taking home more than one."
"You guys are going to jinx me." Magnus groaned. "But thank you, Lucian. Be safe."
"You too." Alec added pointedly to him before leading Luke away to check in for their backstage access.
Magnus linked an arm with Raphael, who simply rolled his eyes at the star, before the two marched into the auditorium to find their seats.
* * * * *
Once set free backstage, Alec felt his nerves spike again. There were quite a few people milling about—people responsible for lights, sound, directing the MCs and presenters, and every type of service worker needed to pull off an extraordinary event like this.
It made it difficult to keep an eye on everyone, as everyone seemed to be rushing past others and slipping in and out of dressing rooms or manning the tech behind the scenes.
When he tried to look out at the audience to locate Magnus, the bright lights pointed at the stage made it impossible.
"Damn it." he said under his breath. "Underhill, how are we looking?"
"Good. People are still piling in but Magnus seems to know the people behind him and in his row since he's chatting with them like they're old friends."
"Keep me posted if you see absolutely anything suspicious, okay?"
"You got it, boss."
Alec wanted to be comforted by Underhill's words, but he knew that Magnus was like that with everyone, and, frankly, it could go either way—Iris was a prime example of how someone close to him couldn't be trusted—and that meant everyone who was friendly with him was still a suspect.
It was going to be a long night.
* * * * *
The show moved on, with epic performances and awards passed out to tearful or giddy artists.
Alec had been given an itinerary of the awards being given out and saw that Magnus' categories were in the latter half of the event while his presenting was in the first half.
He soon would be pulled from the audience and taken backstage to be touched up and given a rundown of the script, even with the prompter in place. It allowed the presentation to flow more naturally if he had a chance to review it.
Knowing Magnus, he'd probably tweak it to suit his needs, but that was to be expected. Raphael had been right all those months ago when he said Magnus danced to the beat of his own drum.
Alec's phone buzzed against his leg and he slipped it out of his pocket to see a surprising number calling.
Jace (work)
He wanted to hit ignore and go back to people watching, but it may be about Iris or the evidence they processed.
"I have to take this." Alec told Luke. "Keep your eyes peeled."
He held the phone up to his ear. "Hello?"
Jace sounded stressed. "Alec. Sorry to call – I know you have the Grammys tonight. But there's been some new information about Magnus' situation and figured it was best you knew immediately."
"What's going on?"
"I'm going to let someone else explain."
The phone was apparently passed over since there was a shuffle before he could hear someone release a breath into the receiver.
"Alec?"
"…Iris?" Alec asked, unable to hide the surprise in his voice.
Luke glanced at him at the name but returned to scanning the room when Alec gestured at him.
"I know you're not my biggest fan right now but there's something I need to tell you."
"Okay… what is it?"
"I was too upset the other night to say anything. I just wanted Magnus to understand that I hadn't been doing what I was doing to hurt him – only scare him. Scare him into hiding or cancelling the tour but instead he accepted your hiring and then you two became inseparable in every way…"
"Iris. Make your point."
"They asked me here about the small bomb that was placed in his dressing room before you were hired, and I remembered you had asked me that too. But that wasn't me. I never wanted to hurt Magnus. I love him and want him to be with me."
Alec felt goosebumps rise along his arms. He normally wouldn't believe someone so unstable but she had a point. It seems counterproductive to murder the object of your affection when your endgame was to be with them. "Then who did?"
"That's just it. I don't know."
Alec inhaled through his nose, trying to rein in his temper. "So you're calling to tell me someone else means Magnus harm?"
"Well…"
"Iris."
She sighed. "I thought it was a dream, but now it makes sense. I forgot about the bomb. Nothing else physically harmful happened to Magnus so I swore it was just a vivid dream… but now… Look, before the tour started, I was desperate. I relapsed and got really high and drunk because, even though I had 'broken' into the house, left threatening letters and messages and photos, Magnus hadn't even seemed fazed. I didn't know then that Raphael had been hiding everything from him. And Raphael announced he was going to hire Magnus a personal bodyguard so the tour could go on without a hitch. So I was heavily intoxicated at this bar and bitching to some lovely voiced stranger and went on and on about how I wished someone would do what I threatened to do in those letters and then maybe Magnus would finally see sense… and the guy said he could do it. And I… I just handed over all the cash I had and told him to do whatever he had to."
"You hired a hit-man? An actual hit-man?" Alec said, feeling like the floor beneath him was shifting. How was this real? Could Iris even be trusted?
"I wanted to call it off as soon as I heard a bomb went off in his dressing room at one of the last concert venues before the tour took off. I couldn't believe it. I knew then it wasn't just some drunken fantasy and had actually happened. But I never got the man's name. I don't even know what he looked like. I have no way to track him down, Alec. I'm sorry."
Alec was glad he was in public or else he would've had to break something. "You're sorry? You hire someone to kill Magnus, you pay them to end his life, with the excuse of substance abuse, and you're sorry? You have no way of me tracking this person down, no idea when they might strike, and you want, what, my forgiveness?"
"No. I know I'll never deserve that. But I needed you to know so you can keep him safe. I don't know when he'll strike but if he's as good as he said he is, Magnus won't stand a chance."
"I'll make sure he does." Alec snarled into the phone, ending the call before he said something horrible to the very troubled woman on the other end of the line.
Luke made his way over, no doubt seeing the fire in his eyes from all the way across the room.
"Everything okay?"
Alec exhaled. "Far from it. We're not out of the woods yet."
* * * * *
Magnus was ushered backstage and he nearly tripped in his haste. He probably should've been looking at the floor more, what with all the cameras and wires around, but he was too eager to find Alec who he knew would be waiting for him.
Sure enough, once Magnus was nudged in the right direction, a strong arm pulled him aside and he found himself near-stumbling into his bodyguard.
"Well hello to you too." he teased, leaning up to kiss him now that they were behind a barrier. He hadn't been able to concentrate on the event like he had hoped, knowing that Alec was back there likely burning a hole in the floor with his pacing.
He was grateful that Alec took his job so seriously, but he also didn't like seeing the stress weigh down his boyfriend the way it did.
Instead of returning the kiss, Alec pulled back and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Magnus, we need to talk."
"Worst four words strung together in the English language." Magnus said, hoping for Alec to interject that it was nothing to worry about, but he got a good look at his eyes then and could see the pain there. "Alexander, what is it?"
Alec proceeded to explain the phone call he had received, who had been on the other end and what she had said, from the bomb to the anonymous hiring.
Magnus simply stood dumbfounded. "So we caught my stalker, the one sending all the threatening letters and photo collages… and that's not the same person as the one who nearly blew me up? There's still someone out there who is planning to kill me and we have absolutely no idea who they might be or how to track them down?"
Alec nodded, watching him carefully, rubbing a hand over his shoulder soothingly.
"I know it's a lot to take in. As unbelievably furious as I am, it is better we know so we can make sure you stay safe."
Magnus nodded numbly, swallowing and staring distantly at a spot on the wall.
Alec lowered himself slightly so he was at eye level with Magnus. "Listen. I am not going to let anything happen to you. I am good at what I do. We've gotten this far, right?"
"Magnus Bane? Has anyone seen Magnus Bane?!" a voice was shouting from the other side of the room.
"I need to go get touched up." Magnus said robotically, and he walked away like he was on autopilot to the makeup chair.
Alec watched him go, heart aching at the heaviness that had settled on his shoulders. Maybe he shouldn't have told him. Should've waited until after the awards show. But he wanted Magnus to be on the alert, to not think that because Iris was in custody, the risk to his safety was back to being minimal.
Touch-ups didn't take long and then Magnus was linking arms with his co-presenter, all smiles and laid-back energy.
Alec watched from the sidelines, directing Luke to the other side of the stage.
"There is so much talent showcased in this room tonight, and I'm not just talking about the make-up artists and fashion designers who manage to make us all look amazing." Magnus was saying with his usual flourish, the crowd tittering as expected. "Sometimes it is a single person that manages to light up the stage, and other times, it is a group of people who have come together to make something bigger."
"That's right." Magnus' presenting partner said, a beautiful brunette woman Alec couldn't name but had definitely seen before. "The following category features a wide range of talented and standout groups. The nominees for Best Pop Duo/Group are…"
She read them out to the crowd, applause following each group name.
"And the winner is…"
Before she could say it, Magnus suddenly froze before quietly rushing off the stage without a word.
The woman faltered slightly, eyes following him briefly before plastering on a smile and reading the card from the envelope.
The applause grew and then there was a group of young men taking turns thanking people on stage.
Alec moved to make his way to Magnus, slipping between bodies to get there as fast as he could.
"Why… why did you have to tell me all of this? Right before I go on? Now I see someone get up to go to the bathroom and I feel like I need to throw myself at the ground to avoid a bullet. I just humiliated myself in front of thousands of people all because you were too impatient to wait the extra hour when the show is over!" Magnus shouted at him.
Alec was slightly taken aback by the outburst, having been on the receiving end of Magnus' heated temper before but not usually to this extent.
He knew he had a point. Magnus wasn't anymore in danger now than he would be an hour from now – being oblivious to it would've been the kinder thing to do. After all, the hitman had been hired months before and had yet to strike – there was no guarantee he or she would strike tonight.
"Magnus, I'm sorry. It felt wrong keeping it from you. You're right—I should've respected how important tonight was and thought it through more. I'm just afraid."
"You're afraid?" Magnus asked incredulously, looking at him with such shock Alec nearly laughed.
"Yes, I am. I'm terrified of you getting hurt. Of this event being where he decides to strike. I… You have to know how much I care about you." Alec admitted quietly.
Magnus stepped into his space, looping his arms around his waist and smiling softly at him. "I care about you too. I'm sorry for snapping at you. I'm really just angry at myself. For ignoring the signs for so long with Iris. For angering her enough to get us to this point."
"Well, it hasn't been all bad." Alec reminded him, stroking a hand along Magnus' waist.
"You have been a good consolation prize." Magnus noted, and he laughed when Alec's face screwed up in annoyance. "I'm kidding, darling. You're very much the top prize."
"Mm a Grammy would be nice too though." Alec reminded him after giving him a quick peck on the lips. "Speaking of, you should return to Raphael before he sends out a search party or sends me extremely well punctuated texts that show he means business."
"Raphael is harmless. But I would like to see how the night's awards go."
Alec smiled. "Go. I promise I will do everything in my power to keep you safe."
"Fine. But I expect some very celebratory sex later if I win. And if I lose, sex to make me feel better."
Alec rolled his eyes but nodded. Magnus gave him another swift kiss on the cheek this time and headed off to return to his seat.
* * * * *
With Magnus' presenting out of the way, Alec felt a little calmer. With the itinerary laid out well in advance for what order the awards were presented, it made more sense for someone to attack when he was scheduled on stage versus waiting for him to potential win one of the three categories he was nominated for.
Still, Alec wasn't one to get lax with his professionalism. He still kept a close eye on every moving body and checked in with the two on his team to ensure they were doing the same.
He let his eyes rove over the crowd, catching sight of Magnus speaking quietly to Raphael as they applauded the current receiver of the award.
Alec knew Magnus was scared, maybe even more scared than Alec, but he hoped he had nothing to worry about. It had been months since the hit-man was hired – for all they knew, he had given up after his failed bomb attempt. It's not as though it was a contractually sound hiring. He had already been paid.
"You can't have that back here. It's interfering with the mic." a man with a headset of his own said, interrupting his thoughts, and Alec had to work to keep his face from scowling at him.
"I've been using it all night and it hasn't been an issue. It's my contact with my security team. My client is at risk in an event as open as this—"
Before he could finish, the guy interrupted. "I'm sure that's true but I've been given explicit orders. It's either give up your communication device or leave the event. Your choice."
Alec grumbled under his breath while he passed over the electronic device and nodded when Luke sent him a questioning look to silently ask if he should do the same.
Not having the wire in his ear made him feel exposed and on edge, but he had a job to do and would do so with or without the help of technology.
He shot a text to Underhill to let him know that they had been cut off and that they'd have to stay that much more alert to their surroundings.
Someone nudged past him, nearly causing him to trip over a collection of wires across the floor, and Alec remembered why being backstage was the worst location to have to hover.
A hand on his arm steadied him and he turned to the person to thank them, but it got lost on the way out of his mouth.
"Sebastian?"
The blond man smiled broadly at the sight of him. "Alec! I never expected to see you here. I didn't realize you were in the Hollywood scene."
Alec grimaced. "It's not really by choice; I work personal security. I go where he goes. What are you doing here?"
"Ah. I'm a photo journalist. This many celebrities in one place? It's like Christmas for us." he explained, gesturing to the large camera kit in his hand. "I should get to it, but lovely to see you, Alec."
"You too." Alec said automatically, eyes drawn to the duffel-like bag in his hand. It seemed to be quite a bulky piece of equipment. He knew many cameras could be large or have a lot of different lens and such, but the new technological age tended to provide much more compact options.
He didn't know why he felt that familiar unease climbing his spine. Maybe it was his suspicious nature but he suddenly was seeing something sly in the smile Sebastian flashed him before slipping away to go down to the sidelines of the auditorium.
Alec watched Underhill across the room from him and moved to say something into his mouthpiece, only to remember that it wasn't there.
He crossed the room to speak to Luke.
"I need you to keep close to that British man. Something about him… I don't know. I don't like it. And he's been somewhere Magnus and I have been before. I'm hoping it's just coincidental but I'm not taking any chances."
Luke nodded and left backstage to move closer.
"And the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album is… Magnus Bane, for Shadow World!"
Alec couldn't help the proud beam that graced his face when the words sunk in. He couldn't wait to say 'I told you so' to Magnus.
Speaking of Magnus, he was absolutely glowing as the auditorium filled with cheers and applause and he hugged many people before jogging up to the stage.
Alec couldn't take his eyes off of him. He had never seen him so happy.
But then something caught his eye on Magnus' grey and white suit. A pinpoint red light dancing over his chest as he shook hands with both presenters and accepted the gramophone-shaped trophy.
Alec scanned the room desperately for where the light was originating from and his eyes landed on Sebastian.
It was him. He had his large camera hoisted up on his shoulder, but Alec could see now that it was simply a sniper rifle disguised in the shape of a bulky camera. It was how he would've gotten it in the door. Unless they took apart his camera, they'd never have known it to house a weapon.
Alec frantically looked for Luke and Andrew but they were simply clapping along with everyone else, eyes scanning the crowd but clearly missing the imminent threat.
Magnus raised the award above his head before he reached the podium, setting off another round of applause, and Alec watched in horror as the laser stayed still on his chest above his heart.
He'd never get to Sebastian in time. He was too far away. He'd be stupidly lucky if he could signal to either Luke or Andrew in all the excitement and communicate enough to have them apprehend Sebastian before he pulled the trigger.
Alec was running before he could think, his mind focused solely on blocking Magnus from the fatal blow, and he pulled his gun from his thigh holster as he raced onto the stage.
He heard the shot more than felt it, the subsequent quiet before terrified screams broke out made the whole experience that much more disorienting.
He had hit Magnus with the full force of his body, knocking him to the stage floor and causing the trophy to topple across the linoleum.
The pain hit him after the force of his fall jarred his alertness and he raised his gun with difficulty to point it at the assassin.
White-hot fire spread from his shoulder like a firework, and he knew there was a bullet lodged in his collarbone if his agony could be relied on.
The audience was racing for the exits, screams and cries exploding from every row as people scrambled in their gowns and best suits to leave the building.
Alec aimed at Sebastian and let his gun fire a couple shots, managing to hit Sebastian's hand and rifle to splinter it into pieces.
He went down and Alec was grateful to see Luke pushing through the crowd to get to the shooter, likely to tackle him into submission.
But Sebastian pulled out a handgun with his other hand from his suit pocket and aimed it towards Luke.
Alec didn't hold back from releasing a bullet that nestled between his eyebrows and knocked his lifeless body to the floor.
Knowing they were finally safe, Alec let his arm sag and he collapsed against the floor.
"Alec? Alec!" Magnus was suddenly beside him, having been knocked over and apart from him by a few feet.
"Magnus! Are you okay? You're bleeding! Where were you shot?!" Raphael was saying, having finally made his way up on the stage to crouch next to his long-time friend.
Magnus patted his hands against his chest, seeing the blotches of blood everywhere. His eyes widened as he saw the way Alec's eyelids were too heavy for him to keep open.
"It's not me! Alec? Alexander, please, look at me. What in the hell were you thinking? You threw yourself in front of a bullet for me?!"
Alec rolled onto his back with Magnus' help and Luke was next to them, Andrew in tow, and Luke bent down to put pressure on Alec's bleeding shoulder.
"Told you… I'd do anything… to keep you safe…"
Magnus had tears streaming down his face now as his hands flitted uselessly over him.
Alec felt himself growing weaker, knowing it was the blood loss, and it was hard to keep his eyes open let alone reassure Magnus he was fine. He knew he wasn't fine. He was starting to feel cold climbing up his extremities.
"Alec… Alec! Alexander, don't you fucking dare die on me, do you hear me?! Don't you dare!"
Alec chuckled weakly. "You know me, Magnus. Never been one to listen to you."
Magnus half-laughed, sobbing more than anything. "Please, Alec. Don't leave me like this. Stay with me."
Alec's eyelids grew too heavy and he let them win the battle, head lolling against the tiled floor.
"Alec, please. I love you! Do you hear me? I love you! Don't leave me! Stay with me!"
Alec wanted to promise him he'd never leave willingly, to return the sentiment, but the unconsciousness was pulling him under.
Before he could form the words, everything went black.

As 2018 is coming to an end it’s time to reflect on this amazing year for new music and artistry. KUCI is a diverse group of DJs and we are proud to represent all genres of music. I have finally put together our Top 10 albums of 2018 along with some honorable mentions towards the end accompanied by some lovely words written by our fellow DJs. We can’t wait for what 2019 brings for us and continue tuning in on kuci.org or 88.9 FM if you’re in the Orange County area. Have a safe and happy new year!
1. Mitski - Be The Cowboy
“Mitski Miyawaki’s powerhouse voice resonates with a haunting clarity on her stunning masterpiece Be the Cowboy. She creates entire worlds and characters out of pieces of herself, from paranoid, awkward women who yearn for traditionalism and some idealist version of what life or love should be (hello “Lonesome Love”), to cowgirls who can do it all on their own. From sorrowful to triumphant, Mitski colors the spaces in between from soul-bearing ballad “Geyser” to unforgettable dancing-alone-in-your-bedroom anthem “Nobody.” (Sophie Prettyman-Beauchamp)
“This album was so personal and raw and I also liked how the songs flowed well on this album.” (Heidi Barragan)
2. The Internet - Hive Mind
“I can't talk about this album without mentioning how mad I am at myself for missing the tour. Syd, Pat, Steve, Matt, and Chris, The Internet, are prominent figures of musical evolution; this speaks volumes and not just because they got their start with Odd Future, a hub of avid freeform artists. If you’re inclined to believe what I believe, Ego Death is a heartbreak album and Hive Mind is loaded with recovery anthems and passionate songs to share with your new partner who is not a rebound. Across the timeline, the sounds change from R&B and Hip-Hop to Funk and Soul; but what captures my attention the most, from Ego Death to Hive Mind, is the way a facade is casted aside. Hive Mind is just so sincere and therefore, perfectly fitting for being a part of my top three.” (Thorson Munoz)
“[This album] is a very funky album with heavy tones of R&B. The Internet does not disappoint with their funky sounds, which can be heard on “La Di Da”. Overall the album has powerful baselines, thanks to the amazing Steve Lacy, and groovy beats backed by Syd’s smooth vocals. It is hard to listen to this album and not dance along to it.” (Melissa Palma)
3. Kali Uchis - Isolation
“Colombian singer Kali Uchis’ long-awaited debut album is a high-production value journey into her uniquely sultry, dreamy world of R&B. The songstress’s silky voice pushes boundaries of various genres, from bossa-inspired intro “Body Language” to the Amy Winehouse-esque “Killer,” each track better and more of a banger than the last. Isolation features artists like The Internet guitarist Steve Lacy, British soul success Jorja Smith, and reggaeton icon Reykon. Uchis also recruited her friends Tyler, the Creator and legendary bassist Bootsy Collins for the hit single “After the Storm,” a follow-up to her and Tyler’s song “See You Again” from his 2017 album Flower Boy (supported by a stunningly whimsical music video by director Nadia Lee Cohen). The producer credits are just as stacked, including the likes of Thundercat, BROCKHAMPTON’s Romil Hemnani, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, and Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn. Uchis proves herself as the new sound of pop, never veering from her originality that made her a Soundcloud sweetheart.” (Sophie Prettyman-Beauchamp)
4. Janelle Monae - Dirty Computer
“She’s such an intelligent creative weirdo and I LOVE HER. Not to mention her oozing femme POWER.” (Naseem Eskandari)
“About the moxie I mentioned earlier, this emotional rollercoaster has an abudnace of it and I cannot get enough! Cover to cover this album packs a punch, and as the visual companion--which brought me to tears--would suggest, this entire album is a celebration of deviant bodies and identities. This album contains the perfect ratio of soft and tender tracks and upbeat exciting ones so its no wonder why NPR named Dirty Computer their number one of 2018.” (Thorson Munoz)
5. Anderson .paak - Oxnard
“Sometimes artists, after huge successes, feel that they need to make music that sounds just like their previous work to gain the same traction, but really the true artists are the ones that stay honest and true to their creative ability - their sound moves through life with them.” (Naseem Eskandari)
“Anderson .Paak, to me, is responsible for every playlist I've ever built that revolves around driving in Los Angeles with the windows down, no matter the time of day. However, I don't drive a convertible, so instead I honored Venice and Malibu using my radio program, Detours. Not only am I excited to honor Oxnard as well, but Oxnard was built for driving; this is evident after listening to "Tints", the first release, and "Headlow". This album, just like Malibu, is masterful; the only difference is that Dr. Dre stepped out of the shadows and was a feature. Oxnard is beyond incredible and worthy of it's legendary features, Snoop Dog, Q-Tip, and Kadhja Bonet, to name a few. I'm really excited for what will likely be Anderson .Paak's next Grammy nomination.” (Thorson Munoz)
6. Blood Orange - Negro Swan
“AMAZING production, amazing narrative!!!!!!!” (Angel Cortez)
“Dev Hynes never fails to make master pieces of albums that narrate the experience of marginalized people in an oppressive and toxic environment. Hynes brings together artists as big as ASAP Rocky to smaller artists of equal talent such as Steve Lacey creating a beautiful medley of indie hip hop to soul and funk.  Coupled with interviews, Hynes is able to make this album a personal experience for the listener. For me it always feels as though he is singing to me personally, something that not many artists are able to do.” (Kelsey Villacorte)
7. Kevin Krauter - Toss Up
“Toss Up has to be my personal #1 favorite album of 2018 by Kevin Krauter who began making music apart from lo-fi dream pop band Hoops in 2015. Toss Up was released this past summer and was the perfect album to listen to during warm summer nights and has carried through to the end of the year as a comforting reminder of those warm times during these cold nights. It has that dreamy, nostalgic feeling, something that you would listen to as you’re reflecting on the tender moments of your life. Krauter mixes vaporwave-esque sounds with sweet ballads with no one song sounding like the other.” (Kelsey Villacorte)
8. MGMT - Little Dark Age
“MGMT's come-back album is focused, synthy, and fresh. Without abandoning the dark undertones present in their older albums, this album reflects the band's personal growth and resonates with fans, old and new. Tracks like TSLAMP and Little dark Age are some of my favorites!” (Angelica Sheen)
“MGMT has maintained their status as an alternative staple and has since transformed their sound into something more experimental since their debut album Oracular Spectacular. MGMT did not disappoint and gave us an album that went from the weird wii-fit/dystopian vibes of She Works Out To Much to 80s dance of Me and Michael to another sweet ballad titled Hand It Over which is super reminiscent of the ending/title song of their second album Congratulations. MGMT never fails to write well thought out lyrics that all almost feel like their own story. All in all, they did not disappoint and this is exactly the kind of MGMT album I was hoping for after a 5 year hiatus.” (Kelsey Villacorte)
9. Ian Sweet - Crush Crusher
“Jilian Medford refines IAN SWEET’s sound and practices self-care on sophomore album Crush Crusher, her most intimate release yet. Medford rediscovers her identity as she considers how much of herself she has forgotten while preoccupying herself with being a guardian to others (she warbles “The sun built me to shade everybody” on “Holographic Jesus”). Ever poetic while satisfyingly straightforward, she notes that “It’s been too long since I let myself cry about something that wasn’t even sad” on the pummeling single “Spit.” She coos, squeaks, and screams in perfect, dissonant harmony over her guitar’s cathartically melancholic reverb. IAN SWEET remains a perfect contradiction that only grows sweeter.” (Sophie Prettyman-Beauchamp)
10. Parquet Courts - Wide Awake!
“This band's genius shows through with every new release. Wide Awake throws all of their influences together and expels energetic funk beats with poignant, dark, and brutal lyrics that are especially political. The juxtaposition of these themes with upbeat and optimistic instrumentals speaks to their compositional talent, making it a fan favorite. AND THEY USE COWBELLS.” (Angelica Sheen)
Honorable Mentions:
Glenn Crytzer Orchestra, "Ain't it Grand?"
This album couldn't have been better aimed at me if the band had come and asked me what I wanted to hear.  A modern swing-style orchestra performing both classic tunes from the 1930s and modern pieces written in the big band style.  The ensemble playing is tight, the solos just exactly right, and the production quality a lot sharper than any of the original Duke Ellington recordings.  Top notch stuff. (Michael Payne)
The Vaccines - Combat Sports
"The Vaccines brought back the spirit and energy of their debut album but with a new twist when they released their 4th album early in 2018. Get pumped up with the "I Can't Quit" and "Nightclub" or settle down with  "Maybe (The Luck of the Draw)" or "Young American". The Vaccines perfectly embody the sound and snark of the '70s and '80s artists of which their influenced while still creating a modern feel of the 2010's. My personal favorite off the album "Out on the Street" definitely a treat live! Over all Combat Sports is an excellent album and what we needed in 2018." (Stacey Brizuela)
Cobra Man - Toxic Planet
“Los Angeles local duo Cobra Man blows it out of the water with their sophomore album that carries the heart and groove of something you'd hear out of '84. It is indeed one of the best albums of the year because it utilizes one of the most underrated instruments in the game, the saxophone.” (Spartacus Avina)
Nu Guinea "Nu Guinea"
Heaven & Earth by Kamasi Washington is an album that’s loud and bold in both sound and vocals. A lot of the album often creates an ethereal effect with the heavy instrumentals ascending into a grand peak, most notably heard on “Street Fighter Mas”. The vocals on the album accompany the instrumentals in their same form, loud and climaxing. Listening to this album is like a rollercoaster with its thrilling jazz sounds. (Melissa Palma)
Drug Church - Cheer
Mac Miller - Swimming
“The tragic beauty of this album speaks for itself. Mac was such a raw and very real individual and it reflects in his music the way that many others cannot replicate. May he rest in peace - I hope the next life will be better for him.” (Naseem Eskandari)
Thank you to all the amazing DJs who submitted their Top 10 list of 2018! I am super glad to have been part of an amazing and diverse radio station for this past year and this is only a small piece of what our DJs music tastes are like here. I hope everyone has an incredible and safe New Years Eve and a happy 2019 :)

Meet Mexico Merio, The Self Taught Producer Who Continues Curating His Own Sound
Tumblr media
San Diego-based producer Mexico Merio has managed to build himself a well-respected reputation throughout the hip hop scene as one of the hardest working producers in the game. With his incredible work ethic and and keen ear for what sounds good, Merio has been able to produce for the likes of Cali Kev, Poodeezy, RiFF RaFF, Dollabillgates, Q.Hype, Trill Sammy and many more. Today we sat down with the buzzing hit maker for an interview to discuss various topics ranging from his favorite beat he’s worked on, what his production process is like, and how to navigate around the producing for well known rappers and artist on the rise
Name- MexicoMerio Age- 23 How did you start making beats and what gave you the motivation to stay with it?-
Just hopped on FL studio one day and just started playing around with it. Next thing you  know I start really cooking some mean shit up. I met DJ (@DJOnTheTrack) in middle school and we would always listen to the same music. Next thing you know I move to Texas me and this nigga start sending melodies to each other all the time. Once I got outta high school I tried that school shit it didn’t work so I said fuck it, ima make beats.
Whats your production process like?
Melody first. Off top. Sets the vibe.
Tumblr media
You’re an extremely versatile producer. Who are your top 5 favorite producers?
ZAYTOVEN OFF TOP, Metro Boomin, Lex Luger, Southside, & MexikoDro
Whats your favorite track you’ve produced and whys it your favorite?
Some people may not have heard it but it’s called “How” by DollaBillGates. One of my favorite beats and that song is a real vibe. I liked that song so much I chopped and screwed that hoe. From a producer standpoint how involved should the artist be in the recording and post?
For the most part i think a producer should be there or around when an artist is recording to give his opinion. The producer is the one who made the beat so of course they’re feed in the song is important but no necessary.
Tumblr media
You were on Tour recently. How was that experience for you and how did you feel seeing people enjoying your beats? -
That shit was lit best experience of my life and I can’t wait until the next one. Seeing people rock to my beats is the best feeling in the world. Different city every night different venues and different crown all hearing and vibing to my beats. Amazing.
Is there anything new that you’re currently working on that you can share?
1207 project just finished up. Just finished up me and Poodeezy tape. So now I’m focusing on getting out a tape for this new San Diego artist named YHG Pnut and also wanna start working on a new personal project with my boy Cali Kev. I really like making music with that dude his bars crazy and flow even crazier.
I got a couple songs with big names coming very soon too hope the streets ready for those.
Tumblr media
You always seem to know which artist is gonna blow up next. Who are 3 artist you’d love to work with ?
Haha I’m just tapped in and watch the streets. But I def think D. Savage is about to make an awesome comeback. Tbh I never even knew about that whole deal with Joey Fatts or all that shit until a week ago. But this other artist Lil Splurge i def think he up next. His flow and bars crazy. Also Gunna, I been watching him since his first mixtape that dude is seriously hard he gonna win a Grammy no cap. Speak it into existence! What are some of your predictions in 2019?
I told myself in 2018 I was gonna build my name and have a solid name in the streets and in the industry. Next year I’m going for platinum. I wanna work with The Weeknd, PartyNextDoor, Gunna, Future, Young Thug, & A couple more artist but that’s just off top of my dome.  If someone wants to buy beats, whats the quickest way to reach you?
DM. I’m not hard to contact. Everybody swear like I’m Hollywood or something like nah bro I’m still the same nigga. I just tax now. Any last words to all your fans and supporters whove seen you glo up since the very beginning?
Keep working. Fuck tryna have clout or a name. Just keep working.

Bulletproof: a Bechloe short [part 4]
It has been two days since the incident, the operation was a success and Beca was put in the intensive care unit. However, since then she hasn’t woken up or even flinch a little- that worries Chloe as days pass by.
“She will be okay” she told herself as she looked at reflection in the mirror. She looked stressed, the dark circles under her eyes are evident in her light make-up. And her hair gathered in a messy bun. She looked like a mess. So instead of sulking, the redhead fixed herself and went back to her chair standing next to Beca’s bed.
As she sat there, she picked up the book she was reading, she read it aloud for Beca to hear. The doctors said that it will be good if she’ll talk to the patient even if she’s unconscious- Chloe didn’t need to be told twice.
When she grew tired of reading the book, she put it down on the bedside table and decided to just hold her fiancee’s hand. “Hey…you know what…” She kissed the back of the brunnette’s hand. “I was walking around the hospital the other day and I saw people praying for you outside.” She remembers the fans doing a night vigil by the parking space in front of the hospital. She feel the need to tell her.
“We’re all waiting for you Becs. So please, don’t let go okay?” Chloe’s voice cracked. She wiped a tear that was brave enough to escape her eyes. “I know you’ll be back. You’ll be with me again…we always find each remember?” memory jumped back to five years ago. After the USO tour, most specifically after she kissed Chicago; everything changed.
She started dating Chicago, and little by little she felt that Beca slipping away. They’re growing apart. Even though they still share an apartment- and also the bed; but what makes it worse are her trips to LA, it started to be a day trip then it became weeks long, then the next she’s staying there for months. Beca is rarely in New York; the next thing she knew Beca is telling them she’ll be moving out- it almost killed Chloe; but of course she wouldn’t say that to the woman she loved for years.
The first month without Beca was misery for the redhead. She cannot sleep knowing that the brunnette will never come home. That she’s on the other side of the country living her dream. Beca is fast rising superstar. In a year she won her first Grammy’s; got 3 chart toppers and concert tours.
That’s why Chloe understands when Beca fails to answer her calls at times- she’s busy. Then the red head broken everything with Chicago; and Beca only heard about it through Amy. Beca immediately asked Chloe why she didn’t tell her, and the response that the red head gave made her realize that in the midst of moving on from her best friend, Beca forgot to be a friend.
So she immediately booked a flight to New York, suprising Chloe when she arrived home from school. Beca stayed in New York for three days and on her second night everything shifted. They got into a fight, shouts can be heard then the next thing they knew they’re confessing their love for each other.
Although they’ve already knew about each other’s feelings, Beca and Chloe decided not to go for it-be in a relationship that is. With Beca’s career shooting up and Chloe’s veterinary school taking up most of her time; they’ve promised each other to wait for the right time.
“What if the right time doesn’t come?” Chloe asked her forehead resting on the brunnette’s forehead; their eyes closed, yet their hearts are open for each other. “Or if we lose contact or whatever?”
“It will come. I know it will.” Beca kissed the tip of the redhead’s nose and smiled. Stood properly to see her face. “Don’t worry I will always find you. You know I feel that our paths are meant to Cross. During the activity fair? Then when we’re at the communal shower at the same time? I think we’re meant to be Beale! So yeah I’ll find you. Always”
Chloe can’t help but smile. She hugged beca, her arms around her neck and her face buried on the brunnette’s neck. “I can’t believe you feel the same way” she said happily.
“Me too” Beca replied sweetly.
“And i can’t believe Beca Mitchell believes in destiny” she teased. Making Beca push her away letting the brunnette see her smirk.
“Shut you dummy”
“Make m-” Chloe didn’t get the chance to finish her statement when Beca sealed her lips with hers. Both remembering every second of that moment.
Chloe’s thoughts were interrupted when she heard the door open-it was Theo. “Hey what’s going on?” She asked when she noticed the man’s face. It seems like something is bothering him.
Theo scratches the back of his head, “well…” Chloe stood up from her chair and walk towards the bearded man. “Have you watched the press conference?”
“Oh…” Chloe looked at him guilty, “I haven’t. I was uhm…busy reading” it’s true, she was reading a book for Beca earlier, but she purposely did that so she wouldn’t be able to watch the press conference. It just makes everything so real. And besides she already knew what the management will tell the press. What’s the point of watching? “Why did something happen?”
It’s Theo’s turn to look at the red head with guilt present in his eyes. And by seeing this Chloe noticed how fast her heart is beating, waiting for the man’s next word. “They knew” two words and Chloe felt like a she’d been punch in the face. She knew what theo meant.
“How?” Was all that she can say.
“Everyone panic during the incident, that they’ve forgot to turn of Beca’s mic…now a video of the two of you saying how much you love each other is spreading like wild fire.” Chloe walked towards the window, eyed the people below them. Beca did her best to keep their relationship private. After the press harrased the last person that was linked to the singer/producer; Beca along with Theo tried their best to hide their relationship from the public eye; naming her as Beca’s best friend Everytime she’ll accompany the brunnette at award shows and galas. The best friend who moved in with the superstar after catching a job at the finnest veterinary clinic in LA.
“She wouldn’t be happy about this” Chloe said with her back facing the man “but let’s be realistic, sooner or later they’ll find out.” Chloe turned around and smiled at Theo. “It’s fine Theo. What’s important is Beca’s safety. It’s what matters most” she move closer to her fiancee and held her hand.
“You know what might happen after this right?” Chloe nod she is fully aware that the papparazzi may become too much, invade her privacy and all; but she needed to think about that later. All she wanted right now is to be beside the brunnette.
Theo explained to the redhead everything that she needed to know; such as what to say to the media, what to do if ever they harrass her, and the details about her security team. The label wanted her to have her own security detail if ever anything wrong happens.
When the bearded man was sure that he have said everything, he decided to leave the couple alone. But just as he open the door, the machine started to change it tone making him turn to it’s direction.
They noticed the rapid change in numbers displayed on the machine; moments later nurses and doctors came rushing to the door. “What’s happening to her?” Chloe said confused and crying. Theo immediately run beside her. She noticed how pale Beca was, making the redhead panic even more.
“Ma'am we need you to step outside” the nurse said, Chloe doesn’t want to obey but Theo pulled her out with him. Giving the doctors space to do their respective jobs.
to be continued....

If you’re wondering why Taylor gave “Babe” to Sugarland...here’s the impact Sugarland had on Taylor at the beginning of her career. This song by Sugarland came out in 2006 and impacted in 2007, when Taylor Swift was right off her self-titled debut and in the swing of writing Fearless. “Stay” was ranked #2 on the country charts for weeks, sitting right underneath Taylor’s “Our Song”. But then “Stay” beat out “Our Song” to win the 2008 ACM and CMA for Song of the Year, and it won the Grammy for Best Country Song in 2009.
"Stay” would have loomed large in Taylor’s mind as a model country song for that whole album and awards season cycle. And whether consciously or unconsciously, its success had a huge influence on the lyrics Taylor wrote for her 2008 album Fearless.
(I’d argue that Taylor made conscious reference to “Stay” when writing her Fearless album. You’ll recall that when Taylor learned that Red’s genre inconsistencies had denied it the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2012, she strove to make her next album as sonically cohesive as she could—and by doing so, by carefully adapting her music to match what the critics were looking for, won herself Album of the Year for her next album 1989. I’d argue that "White Horse” and “Fearless” were each part of a different implementation of the same strategy earlier on in T’s career: that Taylor has always understood how to scrutinize critical reception to her and other artist’s work and tweak her own music accordingly.)
The songs that arguably gained Taylor the most popular and critical acclaim from Fearless, respectively “You Belong With Me” and “White Horse,” together display an innocent, 17-year-old country ingenue’s reimagining of 30-year-old Jennifer Nettles’ storyline from “Stay.” “You Belong With Me” handles "Stay”’s major plotline about loving a man in a relationship, but speaks from the universal perspective of a dejected high-schooler rather than that of an adulterous “other woman,” and Taylor shifts the once-mournful narrative to an upbeat, hairbrush-karaoke-provoking pop-sensible style. This song earned Taylor her first major pop-crossover hit, essentially breaking her into the mainstream as an artist. Meanwhile, “White Horse” goes for the Grammy—and it successfully followed “Stay” (Grammy-winner for Best Country Song, 2008) by winning the Grammy for Best Country Song in 2009.
“White Horse” closely follows “Stay”’s distinct narrative arc in how it crafts a major but lyrically subtle and devastating twist in the final verse. In both songs, the first few verses and choruses are plaintive cries of “won’t you come back to love me like you did before?”, followed by a gut-wrenching twist in the final chorus that, with a minimal change to the lyrics used previously, turns on its heels to say, “Well, I don’t want you to come back.”
Sugarland, “Stay” (2006), first verses and chorus: “I’ll be beggin’ you baby / beg you not to leave ... why don’t you stay? / I’m down on my knees / I’m so tired of bein’ lonely / Don’t I give you what you need?” Sugarland, “Stay” (2006), final chorus: “So next time you find you wanna leave her bed for mine / why don’t you stay? / I’m up off my knees / I’m so tired of bein’ lonely / You can’t give me what I need.”
And savvy 17-year-old Hermione-like badass Taylor Swift, after careful examination of the pros, with 2008′s “White Horse”, writes the first verses and chorus that will win her the corresponding Grammy Award the next year:
Taylor Swift, “White Horse” (2008), first chorus: “I’m not a princess / this ain’t a fairytale / I’m not the one you’ll sweep off her feet / lead her up the stairwell / this ain’t Hollywood / this is a small town / I was a dreamer before you went and let me down / Now it’s too late for you and your white horse to come around.” Taylor Swift, “White Horse” (2008), final chorus shift : “I’m not your princess / this ain’t a fairytale / I’m gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well / This is a big world / that was a small town / there in my rearview mirror disappearing now / and  it’s too late for you and your white horse to catch me now / try and catch me now.”
Taylor’s Sugarland-inspired work on Fearless is a testament both to the interconnectedness of country music’s closely bonded songwriting community and to the act of smart badass women inspiring and lifting up the work of other, younger smart deserving badass women.
For a few more of the specific inspirations from “Stay” that Taylor used on her Fearless album, see below:
Lyrical trope 1: Waitin’ and prayin’ and watchin’ the phone
Sugarland, “Stay” (2006): “I’ve been sittin’ here starin’ at the clock on the wall / And I’ve been layin’ here, prayin’ / prayin’ she won’t call”
Taylor Swift, “You’re Not Sorry” (2008): “All this time I was wastin’ hopin’ you would come around...”
Taylor Swift, “Forever And Always” (2008): “I stare at the phone / he still hasn’t called / and then you feel so low / you feel nothing at all”
Taylor Swift, “Love Story” (2008): “I got tired of waitin’ / wonderin’ if you were ever comin’ around . . . I keep waitin’ for you but you never come”
Lyrical trope 2: I’m better for you than she’ll ever be
Sugarland, “Stay” (2006): “What do I have to do to make you see / she can’t love you like me?”
Taylor Swift, “You Belong With Me” (2008): “If you could see that I’m the one that understands you / been here all along so why can’t you see? / You belong with me.”
Lyrical trope 3: Why don’t you stay
Sugarland, “Stay” (2006): “I’ll be beggin’ you baby / beg you not to leave”
Taylor Swift, “Love Story” (2008): "You were everything to me / I was begging you 'please don’t go'”
[See also: Taylor Swift, “Stay Stay Stay” (2012), “All You Had to do was Stay” (2014); Obviously, the concept behind Sugarland’s “Stay” is one that has resonated with Taylor. Her BBC1 Radio cover of Vance Joy’s “Riptide” seems as well to hinge on its line “I just wanna know / if you’re gonna stay.”]
Lyrical trope 4: On my knees
Sugarland, “Stay” (2006): “Why don’t you stay? / I’m down on my knees”
Taylor Swift, “White Horse” (2008): “And there you are on your knees / begging for forgiveness / begging for me”
Taylor Swift, “Change” (2008): “Tonight we’ll stand / get off our knees"
Taylor Swift, “Jump Then Fall” (2008): “When people say things that bring you to your knees / I’ll catch you”
