Everything in the world has become yours. The moon reminds me of the times we walked under it together. The colour white reminds me of how much you love it. Grass reminds me of how you love walking on it, barefoot. My hands remind me of how perfectly they fit in yours. My eyes remind me of how I long to see you.

Bite and Prejudice: A Sirius Intervention
Tumblr media
Chapter 24 of my Pride and Prejudice and wolfstar fic now posted:
In recent years, as his wards grew older and headed towards the independence their own adult life must bring, Dumbledore had often begun to wish that he had not been so hasty in quitting his important and influential roles at the Ministry and Internationally; that he had not been quite so quick to cast off his high earning employments and instead seek seclusion in quiet retirement in the countryside.
Not that he regretted the seclusion or the quiet or even the countryside (the bluebells in the meadows and the first snow lying clean on the branches of his own apple trees was almost enough to make up for the constant smell of manure) but - now his children were grown, and their future uncertain - he did regret the money he had not made, which he could now not give them.
When he had first alighted upon his scheme to take in and care for magical children who were - one way or another - outcast from wizarding society, he had perhaps been rather naive in his understanding of just how much it cost to clothe and feed a growing child, or just how many children there were who needed him, and it was only his own care and careful calculations - now the truth of his financial state was revealed to him - which had prevented the family from exceeding their income.
Madam Pomfrey had a little fortune of her own, as well, which had been inherited from her father and invested in the four percents. It was now agreed between the pair of them that  hers would be the money that they settled on the children, while Dumbledore’s would be the money they used to live. Madam Pomfrey, as it happened, had a sum of five thousand galleons to split between her five wards - and now it seemed that Mary was to take her share of it at once.
Cloistered within his reading room, Dumbledore composed his acquiescence to the scheme for his patronus to convey to Urquart. He had never before supposed that, could Lockhart be prevailed upon to marry his ward, that it could be done with so little expense to himself and so little exertion on his side. However, he knew there was more than his good friend was telling him, that he must be far more indebted to Urquart than the old man was letting on, and pride would not allow Dumbledore to hide in his ignorance. He tagged on to the end of his message a request to know the further particulars of what was now owed, but - unable to think of anything kind, and unwilling to say anything that should make her miserable - he did not send a message to Mary.

Someone on Reddit keeps getting recommended the Jane Austen subreddit despite knowing nothing about Jane Austen, so they posted an Ask Me Anything. Best response so far:

I relate to this so much! I too occasionally find myself wondering what the original reactions of classic stories were like.

Propaganda...
Mr Darcy (2005): ...
Mr Darcy (1995):
There's a reason why Colin Firth is forever known as Mr. Darcy above all other roles he's had and will have! Even ignoring the wet white shirt, which has become A Thing now, he is so hot with his curly hair and his little half smiles and his intense looks of longing and his legs that go on for milessss.
Post Poll Addition* The reason Mr Darcy (2005) didn't have any propaganda and Mr Darcy (1995) did is because someone actually sent me 95 propaganda and not because I was trying to make Colin Firth win! I asked for propaganda pre-poll and people assumed the Darcy's would sail through so that text was all I got for either of them - it's not my fault the '05 girlies did not find the tournament in time to send any in!!!!! This was the same in a few other polls in the early rounds of the tournament. Sorry for sounding off a bit about it but I don't add any of my own propaganda so I stay impartial so it's just frustrating to be accused of the opposite. Anyway I hope that clears that up :))
