so do you think if buck and tommy don't break up in episode 6 that they're gonna be breaking up the next time tommy appears which would be in 9 or 10 and it'll be a mutual/amicable break up because of Buck realizing his feelings for Eddie?
Hey Nonnie
Why would they be breaking up in episode 6???
That’s never been a thing that would happen.
There are two options at play her really - the first is that they will come to some kind of natural conclusion in episode 9 or 10.
Or the second option is that they’ll end the season together and will end some time early in season 8.
Either way it may or may not have to do with a buck feelings realisation - neither get in the way of buddie if that is what you’re worried about. All the chess pieces are moving into place nicely - Eddie still has a way to go on his journey - he has a lot to work through and isn’t ready for Buck at all yet and the show is dropping anvils that that’s where they’re going with his arc - we just don’t have a timeline yet.
Buck getting to be happy and have a good relationship for a period - while he discovers more about himself and while Eddie does that work on himself is no bad thing. Buck will also get to grow and learn - and get to a place where he is also ready for Eddie - for forever. Because as things stand right now - I don’t think Buck would handle a feelings realisation well at all - in fact I think it would be detrimental to buddie. For starters buck doesn’t really know how to have a healthy relationship - all of his have been some level of toxic. Secondly, tying bucks newly awakened queer identity to his feelings for Eddie in that way - so quickly - would potentially send buck spiralling at this moment in time in an unhealthy way- slowly figuring it out over time as he dates Tommy is a much more interesting narrative - and plays into why they’ve chosen to have Tommy be such an obvious version of Eddie - we the audience know and can see what’s going on but oblivious buck (being true to character and being oblivious!) slowly connecting the dots - in a way that frustrates the audience - the pay off for us is far more satisfying - and it’s a more realistic story and more ground breaking for a queer love story on network television!
We don’t want them to rush together because buddie is end game - the last relationship either will ever have - so then getting to a great place individually before they start something is really great and really important.
Plus don’t forget this cat and mouse type narrative is fun too - buck fell first but didn’t realise - Eddie fell harder but didn’t realise until he got shot - then Eddie had to hide it - then he had a grief spiral ,Buck in a coma) - then he got so good at keeping it buried he started dating Marisol - at which point Buck had an almost epiphany but has mistaken it for Tommy rather than Eddie.
Eddie who is now unpacking the bit of himself that will allow him to actually embrace his queer identity. Eddie who panicked - asked Marisol to move in with him when he realised Buck was single again - then decided to only back track a bit rather than ending things when he realised Buck wasn’t in fact single and was also bi and now dating Tommy - because being single and alone when the man you’ve been in love with for so long is no longer single and is now actually in a relationship with a man - that means he was an option is not a fun place to be - so staying in a relationship that’s meh but ok is preferable to him.
Basically - the show seems to be setting this up for a full arc in 8a, leading to buddie canon. I genuinely at this point don’t think they’re doing to have any form of Eddie actually stating his queerness in the rest of 7 - I think they will continue to make it blatantly obvious thats where it’s headed but I think they’ll save his story for 8a - which is the best place for it imo - where it can be done properly.
So why shouldn’t buck get to be happy with Tommy for a bit in the meantime?? He’s earnt it!
This gif a bit out of control, but I hope it’s interesting!! 💜💜💜

Love for Love's Sake Episodes 7 & 8
Well holy shit, that went in some directions I never imagined, and it was very dark indeed. I can't believe this intriguing little show is already over. So let's unpack what happened here.
Tumblr media
My interpretation of everything we learned in these final episodes is that Myungha already died by suicide in the real world after a series of hardships, including the death of his grandmother, a long-term struggle with depression, and rejection from his ex and his mother, and the author gave him a chance to live again in the game world. The ending suggests he will now stay in the game world with Yeowoon and get another chance at life where his core objective is to make himself happy, and any expectation we had that he would have to return to the real world is out the window, because his life there has already ended.
Tumblr media
But what exactly is this game world? I don't think we'll ever fully know for sure. Certainly, the show did not explain the how of it, or tie together all the vignettes we saw of Myungha and the author discussing their philosophy on life in a clear throughline to how we got to the game. The game world was purportedly based on the author's fictional novel, but all along it has taken on the features of Myungha's real life, including all the significant people we saw in his first life flashbacks. His grandma is here, his mother is here, his ex is even here in the guise of Yeowoon's agent. Myungha's memories and consciousness seem to inform the way this world was built, even as he did not create it. The author is given the role of Creator, somehow designing this world for Myungha to try to find happiness via seeking to make someone with very similar experiences to his happy.
Now, on this point, I don't think everything that happened in the original iteration of the game totally holds up. The way the author was messing with Myungha and forcing cruel choices on him really does not track with a desire to help him find happiness, and the point where Yeowoon seems to discover the game and somehow intervene to pull Myungha back in was lacking some clarity. And I wish the show had grounded us in Myungha's experiences earlier on rather than holding everything back for the sake of mystery--I do think that choice got in the way of a more coherent emotional arc for our protagonist.
Tumblr media
But despite those quibbles, I still was able to connect with Myungha's struggles. This is a boy who has been so mired in his own misery that he doesn't know how to let anyone else in. He is too afraid to trust and let someone care for him in the way he cares for others. I wanted to reach through the screen and strangle him when his own emotional paralysis caused him to destroy the game--Yeowoon was telling him exactly what he needed, but he couldn't find the strength within himself to give it to him. And this is why knowing Yeowoon is exactly what he needed to see a different path for himself, because Yeowoon has experienced many of the same hurts but still finds within himself the ability to trust and rely on Myungha. Yeowoon is the stronger of the two of them, and Myungha needed to learn from him to overcome his own cowardice. Their happy reunion in the game world felt earned, and I believe in Myungha's ability to try again at both life and this relationship without holding back this time.
Tumblr media
This show definitely wasn't perfect, but it really did some interesting things and left us with a lot to think about. I am looking forward to reading everyone else's interpretations of these final episodes, and Myungha and Yeowoon will be staying with me for a long time.

7x05 Buddie Meta "You Don't Know Me" Part 1 (of 4)
Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
Welp. I'm back at it again with the four-part metas. I was hoping this one wouldn't take too long but alas there was even more to unpack in this episode than last episode.
Fair warning my meta does contain speculation, and is very much my opinion/interpretation. I will be diving into my personal opinions about Eddie's sexuality and marriage to Shannon here. My headcanon is that Eddie is a repressed gay man, not bisexual, and I believe that while he did love Shannon, he was not in love with her and their marriage was something they were pressured into and was not healthy for either of them. I do my best to look at these topics in a nuanced light, but if you are sensitive to reading opinions that differ from yours I'm warning you of mine now. Let's begin!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Taylor Wong is nothing if not an amazing comedy writer. This call didn't end up being as psychological as I may have hoped but it still acts as an interesting parallel and metaphor. "I'm the Boss of Me!" is the tagline for a self-control conference and Buck and Eddie being the ones hurt here. How they got hurt is interesting too and reflects their exact conflicts in this episode.
Buck is being choked, stopping his ability to breathe but also his ability to talk. In the context of this episode, his inability to bring himself to tell Eddie the truth weighs on him--chokes him with guilt-- until he finally does come clean near the end, and only then is he able to exhale again. For Eddie, his being grabbed by the crotch is funny, but it's also an indicator of his storyline in this episode too. He deals with sexual dysfunction because learning about Marisol being a nun makes him feel so deeply uncomfortable that the idea of being with her sexually disgusts him and stops him from having a functioning sex life. For both of them, the pain and discomfort still linger even after the claw arm guy lets him go, but my hope is that this is indicative that one day both of them will get clarity and be set free too.
Tumblr media
"Keeping our options open" is a call back to the last episode where Buck says he's "keeping his options fluid". Whereas the last episode it seemed to be more about sexuality, options open with men and women, this time it seems to be about something else. Maybe it's an indicator of Buck keeping his options open with different people? Which is interesting considering who pops up a second later.
Tumblr media
This is part of why I think it's a good idea they're having Buck get used to queerness with another man other than Eddie. I feel like if Buck had discovered his queerness with Eddie, these kinds of issues might've been blown out of proportion on both of their ends and probably caused much MUCH bigger problems. Allowing Buck the chance to work through this with someone safer was a good bet.
Additionally, I find it interesting here that both Buck and Eddie are dealing with external and internal conflicts that mirror each other in this episode. In this instance, it's the fear of being Perceived. For Eddie, being perceived by God. For Buck, being perceived by Heteronormative Society at large.
This would be an adjustment for anyone, so I don't necessarily think Buck is dealing with internalized homophobia that's too detrimental. I think it's more so he needs an adjustment period and needs to figure out why he's uncomfortable. Is it the idea of being perceived as queer by others? Is it the idea of being perceived as queer by Eddie? Is it the fact that you are on a date with a man? Or is it because you're not sure if you're on a date with the right man? More on this when we get to his scene with Maddie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now I had a strong feeling that Tommy was going to be someone who only figured out who he was later in life too. And it seems a lot of that was due to his past, possibly how he grew up, and being in the 118 under Gerard who was every "ist" in the book. It goes to show how far Tommy has come and also proves to be interesting if we keep thinking of Tommy as a parallel to Eddie. I also had a feeling that Tommy was going to lean slightly more toward the gay side (though he's purposefully unlabeled which is fair).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To me, the phrase "lying about who I was" seems to align more with someone who is into men and not into women, but that's just my interpretation. Especially because in the next moment, Buck says that he's not lying about how he is, which is more in line with the bisexual experience.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because Buck isn't lying. He was always/still currently is attracted to women, and is only just now discovering a new aspect of himself with his attraction to men. Whereas Tommy seems to be implying that when he was with women he was lying to himself about his attraction to them. Sound like anyone else we know?
Additionally, we have another call back to 7x04 (plus a myriad of other episodes) where Buck "makes it about him" when Tommy was really just trying to tell Buck more about himself, not imply that Buck was also lying. I'm going to give Buck some grace here because this is all new for him, so I understand his hyper-sensitivity. But it is once again showing another instance of Buck failing to really connect with Tommy about something related just to Tommy. Last episode, every conversation they had always found its way back to Eddie or was about Buck's feelings regarding what was happening. This time, when Tommy tries to be vulnerable and connect with Buck, Buck makes it about him and it feels like a misconnection (like how I predicted with the missed hand grab in 7x03 with Tommy and Buck trying to connect, but something always not quite hitting the intended target).
If down the road we see Tommy's (abridged) story about "lying to himself" come to fruition in a similar light with Eddie's storyline I'm going to be delighted. Here Buck is out on a date with a man who the last episode spent the entire time telling us was extremely similar to Eddie, only to have Tommy align perfectly with a lot of our headcanons about Eddie's sexuality too. I think this is something to stick a pin in to come back to later for sure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, Buck. OH, baby bi Buck. My heart aches for you and my body cringes. He's obviously on edge, but Eddie showing up just makes it worse. Buck immediately tries to no homo not just himself, but Tommy as well, stating that they're going to go find some "hot chicks" to pick up. Eddie makes a face, obviously picking up on the weirdness of Buck's statement (because "picking up chicks" is wildly out of character for current Buck and has been for years) but he's too distracted with Marisol to dig any deeper into it. He believes it very easily instead of stopping to question why else these two men might be on what looks like an intimate date. Tommy looks hurt, and I feel bad for him, but this was obviously his breaking point, and I can understand why.
Tumblr media
I want to briefly touch on Eddie and the way he was speaking about Marisol throughout the entire episode separately from the whole nun thing. I found this piece of dialogue so odd here, because in general this isn't really how Eddie talks, it doesn't feel natural for him, but at the same time, it also harkens back to some of his horrendous dialogue with Ana back in season 5. "This hot chick already found her firefighter" "Spank me with a ruler" "kinda naughty" "Grade me on a curve" "Maybe you need to keep me after class", etc.
I've always wondered why Eddie starts talking like this about or with his girlfriends. I was discussing it with my roommate and she said to her it sounded like an "8th grade boy sitting with his guy friends trying to talk up how he banged some chick when really it's just a ploy to make himself look good to the boys and like he's more sexually active than he actually is for social clout". And you know what? I think that's exactly what it is. Eddie speaking like this feels like overcompensation on so many levels (not to mention Marisol looks lowkey uncomfortable here, that smile is fake af). Trying to make himself seem way more into sex or kinky things (like roleplaying with a teacher or nun) than he actually is. The dialogue is cringey and Ryan overacts it because the audience isn't supposed to feel comfortable with it. It's not supposed to feel natural. It's not supposed to endear us to the couple, it's meant to feel out of place and wrong because Eddie being with Ana and Marisol was and is out of place and wrong. It feels like a performance to us because IT IS A PERFORMANCE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is only enhanced by the new jarring information that Eddie has apparently asked Marisol to move in with him (offscreen). Keep in mind that they've been together for (I'm assuming) less than six months, he obviously didn't discuss it with anyone since both Tommy, Buck, and Bobby later are surprised. Christopher is also noticeably absent from this episode which leads me to believe he likely didn't really discuss it with him beforehand. This choice feels simultaneously like an OOC choice AND so very in character.
It's OOC because Eddie has stated that he doesn't like performing, he doesn't want a "ready-made family" and one would think that he would sit and contemplate this seriously given that if something goes wrong, he's providing another example of a failed relationship to his son. Not to mention that living with your parent's girlfriend is a huge thing. I've been through that process before in my own life with my mom and it's really only something you do if you're really committing to a person for the long haul because that's the message that sends to your kids.
But at the same time, this is also so severely in character for Eddie. As is pointed out later, he got married to Shannon because he was guilted into it, he dated Ana because he was pressured into it, and then overcommitted to her far too fast. And now he's doing the same thing with Marisol. This is very much a PATTERN for Eddie. Maybe, as this episode suggests, it's a facet of Catholic guilt that pushes Eddie to move way too fast in his relationships. Or maybe, Eddie finds the idea of being settled with a woman comforting, and he'd be okay sacrificing his happiness and settling with any woman as long as he got to have that comforting facade. All of this points to very obvious compulsory heterosexuality for me. More on this later.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm going to talk more about the way the show is choosing to use physical objects, Marisol's things, as a metaphor for who Marisol is, and Eddie's willingness to receive/learn about them as a literary device later. For now, I wanna talk about the exchange of Eddie being the one to bring up "closet space", Tommy being the one to say "Aint't that the truth" and point it towards Buck, who hammers it home with his "bro" line. I find it interesting that they had Eddie say this line, when it very easily could've been Marisol (after all it is her armoire) with Tommy in the middle. Tommy (IMO) is in the center of these two men's queer realization arc. The more subtle one in the earliest stages (Eddie) and the more present one (Buck). The way all of them volleyed this dialogue felt like I was watching a choreographed play, and the lines landed perfectly.
This is also the third line in five episodes specifically poking at Eddie possibly being queer alongside Tommy and Buck. "I've never seen a man turn off a woman with such skill. it's a gift" "you both like to watch half-naked men pummel each other" and now this. "You can never have enough closet space" suggesting that not only was there Tommy in the closet in the past, Buck in the closet recently (and somewhat presently given that Buck just shoved himself and Tommy back into it), and Eddie right now still deep in that closet. Hopefully, there's enough space for all y'all!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I very much liked how this went down. Tommy has a right to break things off if the person he's with clearly exhibits weirdness around being out with you. I don't blame him for his choice here. I like that he's also not making it about the fact that's he inexperienced. Additionally, I think this is another instance of Tommy witnessing something weird between Buck and Eddie, and I'm not sure how much of that he's picking up on, or if he thinks it's generally about being perceived as queer, or just needing to slow things down and process before he actually starts a relationship with a man. All are valid, but I think it's just interesting that a lot of it had to do with Eddie yet again, and I wonder how much of that Tommy is aware of.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
From the start of this conversation with Maddie, Buck makes it seem like the thing that's making him uncomfortable most is the fact that he lied to Eddie about the truth of his date with Tommy. Obviously, he's not going to immediately jump into telling Maddie the truth, and he's gotta start the conversation somewhere, but I do find it interesting that rather than seeking her advice on "how to get his date back" he instead is seeking advice on why he lied to Eddie and can't bring himself to tell him the truth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This could be deflecting because he's not yet ready to tell Maddie. Or it could be the truth that all of this angst may stem from him still trying to get comfortable in his queerness. But the main issue that isn't sitting right with his soul is that he lied to Eddie, that he's hiding a fundamental piece of the truth of who he is from Eddie. Because to Buck it is unthinkable that Eddie doesn't always know the whole truth, all of who Buck is, at all times. At this point in their relationship, they're supposed to know everything about each other, and yet something about sharing this part of himself with Eddie in particular scares him. Could it possibly be that he's aware that sometimes "straight" men get weird around their queer male friends? Could it be that he thinks his relationship with Eddie would be negatively effected if he told Eddie this truth? I will touch more on this later. But for now, Buck makes it clear that his interest isn't wholly in getting Tommy back right now. It's making sure that all is right in his relationship with Eddie.
Once again, this choice by the writers to center Eddie in every step of the way of Buck's queer realization journey is telling. Especially given that he's able to tell Maddie without ~too~ much struggle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I understand where Buck is coming from. It's again distancing himself from Tommy, trying to get her advice about Eddie. But also, it's an attempt by him to normalize him going on a date with a man, which should be normal, but it's not in Buck's personal historical normal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Buck wants to believe that because he was an "ally" that that means he'd just be automatically okay with dating a man right away. But I think he's trying to push himself at a speed faster than he's comfortable with (which he again does at the end by inviting Tommy to Madney's wedding) and needs to realize that he can slow down, which is a parallel with Eddie the whole episode. Which is why I think Tommy was right to step back and give him some time. The other part that is interesting is that Buck once again appears confused about the truth of his feelings, similar to the last episode and I just find it interesting in this scene where Buck and Maddie are once again talking about Eddie at her house, it's once again ambiguous if the subject Buck's really hung up on is Tommy....or Eddie. Both are true at the same time.

Hi there! Your writing is like, SUPER good, man. It’s so in-character! Anyways, could I have some general headcanons for yandere Azul Ashengrotto? Thank youuu!!
Hello there! I'm so glad you enjoy my writing and it's aksjkwkwj— just so nice to hear that things are in character since I try my best in that aspect
ヾ(´▽`;)ゝ I hope you enjoy these headcanons! Also, ack, I'm going back to this template (?) of questions for general headcanons because I do lowkey follow them when writing these sort of headcanons.
✧General Yandere Headcanons✧ — Azul Ashengrotto
Warning(s): Obsessive/Clingy Behavior, Manipulation (Gaslighting, Guilt Tripping), Hints of Self Deprecation/Self Esteem Issues (on Azul's end), Mentions of Unhealthy Lifestyle (Lack of Sleep/Eating—on Azul's end)
Tumblr media
What yandere type are they?
There's a bit to unpack when it comes to Azul. A lot of factors that can play into the type of yandere he is and how he proceeds as a yandere (as well as in his pursuit towards you). However, to give some types, I'd say he is a manipulative, obsessive, and clingy yandere. There was the thought of maybe him being a possessive yandere, but I see him more obsessive than such. Still, let it be known that despite that, there are possessive traits that form because of Azul's obsession towards you.
Like any other obsessive yandere, Azul craves to know ever single detail about you, no matter how miniscule. You see, not only will this serve to get closer but also will become a benefit in the future in exploitation. Knowing about your deepest secrets and insecurities is handy in order to know how to properly treat you as Azul wins your favor through such information. However, that same knowledge can be used against you since now he is aware of your weaknesses to which he can utilize to his advantage. Plus your secrets are the perfect blackmail material in case anything...gets a little out of hand or you (who should know better) tries to leave. Hell, it doesn't even matter the type of secret it is. If it was just something that you would try to brush off in front of him, then why was it a secret in the first place? Why was it something you wish to be hidden? Even with all this, Azul just really wants every piece of information on you like it was another part of his collection. Some might believe it's not worth much, but it is extremely valuable in his eyes.
Knowing the type of person Azul is, it's no surprise that he is someone who would manipulate his darling. He won't admit it at first, but some of his tactics are a form of remaining in control. Since one thing is clear about him is that he absolutely despises not having control of his life. He doesn't let things such as fate nor luck determine his life; he does. Relying on odds is foolish because the only way you can get the things you want in life is through work and dedication. And dedicated he is. Azul's go-to methods of manipulation are gaslighting and guilt tripping. He is a man of honey coated words, but boy does he know how to twist and turn the words of others. Nothing gets past his ears as he picks up on the slightest chance of a a slip up on your or anyone's part. This is why it's important to watch what you say or else Azul will use that against you in the future. Plus, he can just tug at your heart strings if you're an empathetic person. Why would you deny anyone help anyways? Aren't you a good person like he believes you are?
On the topic of how clingy Azul can be, it won't show immediately. You'd have to push him to the brink of desperation to see that side of him. Still, he is someone who craves your attention and affections tremendously due to the troubles of his youth. Being ostracized as a child really took a toll on him so of course it'd affect how he views the world and relationships. The signs of you abandoning him can send Azul in a frenzy as he tries harder to keep you around. If you're smart enough and discover this fear of his, then you can exploit it (but bare in mind that you're still against someone who has some insane dedication and resolve). Also...it won't be pretty if he realizes what you're doing.
How did they fall for their darling?
Azul is one of those characters who will fall for you first and then fall harder as time goes on. Maybe his charms caught your interest, but oh boy did your personality snare him up like a net. Unbelievable. It amuses him in the beginning as he tries to brush off this feeling he's having. You just caught his eye, that's all. Azul will just keep tabs on you until this interest passes.
The more you surprise him and keep living in his mind rent free, the more Azul can't help but want to see more of you. He just can't believe it...how did he manage to fumble like this? There must be an answer. So he tries to spend time with you, make conversation to pick up on your traits. Just to see what makes you tick. It'll come in handy for him later when he wants to turn the cogs a certain way in his image. Not too much, mind you. Just enough to ensure everything goes well. I mean, he fell for who you truly are, so why damage that beyond repair? If a clock stops ticking when it is broken, then how can either of you move forward in life?
Are they aware of their unhealthy behavior?
Yeah, he is. Azul just pretends not to see it fully. If he is okay with guilt tripping and manipulating others to get what he wants, I don't see why he would be bothered by the measures he's taking for you. Anything can be on the table if it means he'll get one step closer to what he's pursuing.
Sure, he'll be taken aback by his unhealthy obsession with you at first. Maybe even contemplate and question the reasons. However...not on what you may be thinking of. Azul is more focused on how you managed to put him in such a state like this. He wonders if you're aware of what you're doing and if this is all a ploy against him. Are you trying to get something out of him through your own charms? It's certainly affective but...he can't help but be astonished by your tactics. It's like this is all effortless to you.
When he finds out that, no, you're not actually doing what he believes you're doing, this man ponders even more. The reasons how he even figured it out is because of his time spent with you to further observe your behavior. He's alone with his thoughts when it finally hits him. It's all him. Azul needs some time to come to terms with this before he takes the whole thing in stride. No matter, now that he knows, everything can run smoothly again! He just needs to conjure up the right approaches in order to keep you by his side. In general, I don't even think Azul would really care if this was healthy or not. There is someone who actually is willing to stick by his side and get to know him outside of who he is in front of others. He is not letting this golden opportunity go to waste nor is he passing up the chance of being loved by someone like you.
How do they act around their darling? Are they subtle or obvious?
Extremely subtle unless you're extremely perceptive. You might just believe he wants something out of you whenever he hangs around you on his own time. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch/assumption to believe that, given the type of person Azul is. What you might not expect is his true reason for spending time with you. Well, yeah, it's to get information out of you but not the information you're thinking of. Personal stuff yes but it's only for him and his uses. He doesn't care about the trivial things that revolve around you such as your friends...but knowing who they are would be taken as a precaution. Or to use as pawns for any schemes he has in that head of his.
If he senses that you're distrustful of him, he quickly shuts down your worries with honey coated words. Why would he, Azul, take advantage of your trust? Is it wrong to simply wish for the time to get to know you? It's harmless curiosity, that's all. You should be quite interested knowing that you've caught Azul's eye in the first place. Usually everyone comes to him for something, not the other way around. Which is something very important in this whole thing. Despite him going above and beyond to learn about you, Azul wants you to come to him in the end. He wants you to give in and accept him fully. Tell him that you've come to a conclusion after being around him so much. If you keep playing hard to get...Azul's wits will eventually reach it's end.
Do they get jealous? How do they act when jealous?
Azul tells himself he isn't jealous. He seems like he's never jealous. His demeanor never shows that he is jealous. However, his heart is full of envy towards those you're close with. Azul would not allow himself to be this vulnerable with his feelings, but it pains to see them getting everything he desires. Your attention, care, and smile. Your everything. The part of him that has never left him—the insecure boy who was ignored and pushed to the side—yearns to have all that. Practically craves it.
He pushes down the jealousy whenever you're around and forces himself to feel fine. Though, it doesn't change the fact that it eats away at him every second he watches. What do they have that he doesn't? He can give you anything you'd like and they certainly do not hold a candle to his skills and intellect. Azul's insecurities will eventually crawl back to chip at his self esteem if his methods aren't getting him any closer to you. The thing he's been mastering for years and yet that is not enough? If that is the case, what else is there? Is he not enough for you?
It's those questions that run through his mind when left alone. Azul can pretend all he wants that none of this get under his skin. Act like nothing is wrong while by your side. You'd never know how deep you cut into his heart when you still refuse to accept him. Oh, but you'll know eventually. He just...needs more time. Another angle to look at this from. He can't just give up when he's come this far. You are just making this more difficult, but Azul can take the challenge.
How much of a danger are they? To darling? To others? To themselves?
In some aspects, Azul is more of a danger to others and himself than he is towards you. How much of a danger he is really depends. At his lowest (not counting the chance of an overblot because that is enough of a danger as is), he gets reckless and desperate. You would actually see the full lengths this man will take to try to win you over or just fix any problem in the equation. It is a point you don't want him to reach because that's where he'll be a threat to himself as well. Still, at a normal standpoint, he's a 4/10 in danger level. Pretty tame and uses manipulation tactics to get his way and push unwanted people to the side. Azul having the tweels involved cranks it up to a 5 or 6/10 for obvious reasons. He isn't really that intimidating in terms of physical appearance (and in some cases,  prowess) but he makes up for it with his intellect. A truly terrifying weapon he can utilize without doing too much.
Towards his darling, not much of a threat again for the mentioned reasons above. Your social life and status may be in danger but that's generally it. Even if that is the only threat he poses, it still hurts when you're questioning/doubting your own choices and feeling like life is against you. All because of him. The world is against you so the only solution is to seek him out. Azul would be such the benevolent person he claims to be as he listens to your woes. The world certainly is awful, isn't it? To abandon a person such as yourself without a second glance. He knows how that feels.
In regards to himself, it's the insecurities that'll bring harm to Azul. He doesn't openly show his jealousy, as mentioned before but he certainly is still affected by everything going on. The actions he takes will show you. He pushes himself further. Azul can be a man who is determined to a terrifying degree, shocking those who witness it firsthand. One plan doesn't work. Oh well, he can think of something else. There's a goal he is after and he will not step off the path to achieve it. No matter the obstacles placed in front of him. You're no different.
He will lose sleep and skip meals. Not just to get closer to having you within his grasp, but...because of his self esteem. Azul listens and takes into account your likes and dislikes. He keeps them in mind as they repeat over and over like a broken record. The same goes with your ideal person. As much as Azul tells himself that he is fit to be your significant other, a part of him doubts that. That part is what pushes him to be better. There are some aspects that he won't change, of course, about himself. He will just fix the...undesirable aspects. Either it be his physique, eating habits, or his form, he'll make quick work of it. He already was trying to in the first place but now he has more motivation.
How far are they willing to go for their darling?
A good amount, but I will say that murdering anyways isn't something he'd do. Unless he's in his overblot form or his buttons are severely pushed. Still, theres a lot he would do in your name as written above. His lifestyle will suffer a good amount as well as his composure (which might eventually lead to a breakdown). Heck, even his mental health might suffer too.
Azul is going to monopolize your time whether it's because he guilt tripped you into it or he tricked you into owing him a favor. There will always be a reason why and he will make sure of it. Plus, as mentioned before, he will damage your social life in whatever way he can. This is why you have to be careful with what you share with him. Azul knows that he has a way with talking to people; lulling them into a false sense of security or deceiving them with his words of absoluteness. Whatever you tell him will be used to his advantage, especially in order to get rid of the obstacles that are your friends or family. Maybe you vented out your frustrations about a friend and he twisted your words...now that person refuses to speak with you. Some friend, huh?
Are they selfish or selfless?
Very selfish. Azul is torn though as one side doesn't think he deserves you but the other believes he has every right to have this one thing in life. He has struggled in life to get where he is now. Even with the love of his family in his youth, Azul still feels the absence of belonging when it comes to peers. Everyone is in it for themselves. No one is truly genuine as they, give and leave. Sometimes Azul likes to think that maybe he has made friends even if things didn't start off that way. Maybe they have decided that he is worth sticking around for. That they...value his company.
That is why he can't risk having you reject him nor take what you want and leave. If you won't stay because you care, then you can't leave due to being in debt to him. This is one of the only ways he can come up with to prevent you from discarding him like trash. So he gives into his selfish desires, because he deserves to have all this. To have you. You don't understand how much pain and work he had to go through for all this. It's all for you, so that should amount to something, right? No efforts will be left in vain.

Sejak episode 9
Tumblr media
Wow okay so a lot to unpack.
"How come I never realized you're a woman? I only had eyes for you and wanted you from the outset." Meaning that Yi In acknowledges at least to himself that he's been gay for Mong-woo all this time. ALL THIS TIME. Like he 100% believed this was a man and he meant to have him anyway. I just want to state this for the record because it's UNHEARD OF here in sageuk city.
Tumblr media
He did plan to rescue her!! Not Hongjang or the others so still top 10 anime betrayals but he did intend for Mong-woo to escape Gulag. It's not much but it's something.
Tumblr media
There’s obviously no reason to strip out of all outer garments and let one's long luscious hair out just for a night of modest cuddling, but at the same time there's no reason to be completely covered if they just fucked nasty. So what is the truth?? 😤
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still obsessed with the decision to set this in her natal home. The first thing she does after their night of passion is to revisit all the reasons she has to destroy him emotionally and politically. Good luck jeonha
Tumblr media
Really insane levels of misogyny when a man's four wives have to apologize for his homosexuality
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Haha no commentary, I was just very delighted by how fucking speechless she was in this scene.
Tumblr media
I like that he protects Dong sanggung (admittedly after inflicting upon her the worst humiliation of the century). I don't know what she's up to or what she's done but I honestly don't care, I just want her to have a good life bossing the other court ladies around <3
Tumblr media
Speaking of, this queen is so precious and I want her to always smile like this and never cry and tremble and break her teacups again :( Her relationship to Munseong is really sweet, and I love that her dad got to witness how much she adores these kids that she's supposed to hate. Maybe he'll think twice about ousting and/or killing Munseong now!!
Tumblr media
All his eyepatches are so Fashion
Tumblr media
This is such a stupid plan because even if Yi In could safely assume the envoy would insist on playing against Mong-woo, there is a 100% guarantee that she'll be brought to Qing as a baduk prodigy if she wins. Like even without the bet that's a given. So she'll be safe from Evil Minister Uncle, yes, but only until the envoy discovers she's a woman. (I don't think this is going to happen but wouldn't it be neat if she did go to Qing in a brief subplot adventure and found her dad?)

Written with the prompt “We need to talk.”
Set in the Rosie AU
Tags: Established PriceGaz, trans pregnancy, just some fluff
-
After John leaves for his training shift at Credenhill, Kyle tries to lay in bed a while longer.
Tries being the operative word there, since he can already feel the urge to pee again; his little Bee making it known that she’s awake too. He places a hand on his bump and despite his morning grumpiness, he can’t resist a smile as he feels her usual movements.
Just ten more weeks before he’ll get to meet her for real, a thought that both excites and terrifies him.
With a slightly exaggerated groan, Kyle drags himself out of bed to get ready for the day. He promised Laswell he’d go over some intel and he has an appointment with his ob-gyn later in the afternoon too.
Researching intel for Kate is not his favorite job, but it makes him feel useful and he likes being able to contribute to the team, even if he can’t be in the field anymore.
The morning passes by uneventfully, besides a handful of extra pee breaks and one snack craving he can’t resist. The afternoon brings its own challenges.
The weather is slowly getting warmer and the closer it gets to the summer, the less Kyle can hide his growing bump behind coats and sweaters when he goes outside.
It’s not that he’s ashamed - he hasn’t been since he was a teenager and he refuses to be now. He just discovered that he has very little patience for having to explain his situation to random curious strangers.
Today, however, is a typical gloomy spring day, which means he’ll be able to go about the rest of his appointments with relative anonymity.
When Kyle gets home by the end of the afternoon, his limited amount of energy has been spent. He’d planned on unpacking some of the baby stuff they received from Dotty in the nursery, but as he sinks down on the couch, he decides that a nap is in order first.
It’s one of the plus sides of being pregnant, he thinks to himself as he fluffs up a pillow. No one bats an eye when you take a nap at random times a day.
He must sleep longer than he thinks because it’s the sound of a key turning in the lock that wakes him up. Squinting at the clock he notices that it’s indeed about time for John to come home from the base.
He’s still rubbing the sleep out of his eyes when his partner enters the living room and throws his jacket over the armrest of the couch. Kyle blinks at him as he notices John’s stiff movements.
“Hey, “ he greets, sitting up. The what’s on your mind? goes unspoken between them.
John’s body language is tense as he puts down his bag and crosses his arms. “So what did you want to talk about?”
Kyle frowns at him, confused as to what he's referring to. “Eh?” he says, wondering what on earth has John so on edge.
“Your message,” John replies, clearly getting frustrated as he rubs his forehead, “You said we need to talk?”
Kyle grabs his phone and opens his messages. “I don’t remember sending you - oh… aw, bloody hell-“
At the top of his messenger app, he indeed sees that he sent John exactly that. And now that he reads it again, he suddenly remembers why and when.
“Kyle?” John asks, almost nervously.
Kyle sighs, cursing the hormone-induced forgetfulness that most definitely caused this. “I’m so sorry, I was gonna say ‘We need to talk about that registry list mum sent’ but I guess I got distracted.”
It’s been happening a lot lately. He thought Dotty was joking when she said pregnancy brain was a thing, but by now he has discovered that she was dead serious. He looks up at John. “You okay?”
John lets out a relieved chuckle as he sits down next to Kyle on the couch. “Fucking- yeah I’m good. Thought you’d gotten some bad news at the doc or something.”
“Like I would have sent a text like this-“ Kyle snorts, leaning into John. He feels kinda bad for causing his partner distress, but it’s also a little funny.
John turns to him abruptly with a raised eyebrow. “I distinctly remember you texting me the same thing before you told me you were gonna keep her.”
Kyle has to wreck his brain for a moment, but then he remembers what John is referring to with a wince. “…Yeah okay fair,” he says, before leaning towards his partner and kissing him on the cheek. “But no, everything’s good. Me and Bee are right on track.”
John sighs again, but this time Kyle recognizes it as one of relief. It’s sweet how much he worries, making Kyle feel a wave of affection for him.
“Good. That’s good.” John grunts, then asks, “You hungry?”
Realizing it is about dinner time, and that Kyle definitely has no energy to cook anything whatsoever, he nods. “I could go for some food, yeah.”
John already reaches for his phone, giving him a questioning look. “Anything you’re craving?”
Ah, how well his partner has gotten to know Kyle and his particular pregnancy moods by now. He gives John a grin as he leans back onto the couch and puts his feet up on the coffee table.
“Thai, I think,” he hums thoughtfully, putting a hand on his stomach and feeling Bee nudge it as if she agrees. “Yep, definitely Thai.”

Just finished watching the new Blorbo-generating Superman show everyone is talking about. Some preliminary notes:
This isn’t a knock on the show’s quality, but this rendition of Clark, Lois and Jimmy very much feel like they’re being written as close to children or teenagers as possible without actually retooling the show to be My Adventures With Superboy. I think we’re still living under the shadow of the hammer which fell upon Infinity Train for having “no child entry point.” This is in contrast S:TAS, which I described once as being a show about Adults With Jobs in a way very few contemporary shows are; they were in a cartoon but they themselves weren’t cartoons.
Downstream of this, the dialogue/spoken humor, from the power trio in particular, constantly skirts the line between grating and endearing; it’s very much in what I think of as the She-Ra Register (indeed, the two shows share a producer) and the She-Ra-Register was hit or miss for me in the titular show.  (I like it a lot more here, though- In MAWS’s favor, the 23-year-old characters aren’t bouncing-off-the-walls whilst in a literal war zone.) This is less true of the villains, Livewire and Slade in particular- they don’t speak more realistically, necessarily, but they feel more grounded, like refugees from a grittier cartoon. I like this rendition of Livewire a lot.
Unpacking Livewire a little more. Livewire’s implementation here is interesting. Livewire’s original character concept- a radio shock-jock who picked fights with Superman to drive ratings before getting powers and fighting him for real- was topical and novel upon its release, but I’ve never felt a great deal of attachment to it because it felt like the shock-jock component ran out of stuff to do in the story after her first appearance. Therefore I don’t mourn its absence here.  Livewire as originally envisioned is one of a handful of supervillains (along with Mysterio) whose schtick would actually be even more plausible in today’s society than at the time of their creation; the internet being what it is, she could plausibly remain a content creator of some stripe without getting deplatformed even after turning into a supervillain. But I like the Livewire we got- a woman who just wants to get paid but instead is going to have to live in a superhero setting for the rest of her life.
Deathstroke is interesting as well. Deathstroke’s personal timeline is something I don’t think about a ton due to the omnifluid chronological soup where every comic hero has been their current age forever, but in a timeline that’s being written from scratch to make sense, then yeah, he would have to be a young gun concurrently with the rise of the first wave of superheroes, in order to be a seasoned, renowned freelancer when the titans are active as an independent team. His showing in the pilot strikes a great balance between Genuinely Cool (the fight sequences) Pointedly Unlikable (any time he opens his mouth) and Skeevy Sadist (the interrogation sequence with Livewire at the end of the pilot.) I really hope they don’t try to do an anti-hero thing with him.
One thing I appreciated about S:TAS is that it took its sweet time getting Clark into costume; the entire first episode was just about the fall of Krypton, it was the Jor-El Show, and in my opinion this did a ton of legwork towards grounding the destruction of Krypton as a meaningful tragedy. MAWS’s pacing felt a little pinched in comparison, particularly because it’s basically a loose remake of the SATS pilot that’s 22 minutes shorter. But one thing I think it knocked out of the park was the scene where Clark investigates his spaceship. in SATS it was basically one additional point on his upward trajectory towards superheroism; it gives him some needed context and he gets over the shock very quickly in no small part because Jor-El’s message is legible. By contrast, the scene in MAWS where young Clark discovers the ship is much more of a character beat. You find this gigantic alien construct lurking just below the surface of your beloved childhood home. Interfacing with it produces an image of a strangely dressed man speaking in an unintelligible language, and then the ground nearly swallows your adopted parents (it’s not NOT a metaphor!) No shit he didn’t want to revisit this until he was an adult and his hand was forced! And, to loop this back around to the start of the paragraph, I’m really, really on board with an inscrutable Jor-El and a deeply visually alien Krypton instead of having all of episode one be The Jor-El show. Not totally sure I want this to turn out to be a Light Hope/Viltrum take on Krypton That Was, but there’s some compelling ambiguity here! I’m very tempted to read something into the fact that he’s missing an eye, and that Krypton seems to have been destroyed by some sort of weapon being deployed against the sun.
Also it’s interesting that they seem to be going with Kryptonian Tech Diaspora as a Unified Origin For Superhuman Weirdness, if Livewire’s kryptonian-powered harness is anything to go by. I’m a sucker for assembling disparate elements of comic-book mythology into a unified whole! And I’m intrigued by the implications that there’s been some form of R-and-D on recovered kryptonian materials- Superman coming in at the tail of Krypton’s impact on the planet. I wonder if they’re going to do a Transformers: The Animated Series move, where the generally higher level of tech at play in Metropolis is downstream of salvaged Krypto-tech.
To circle back to the power trio- one thing about Lois that I’m realizing is that the secret sauce is that every version of her has to be, on some level, in some way, a little bit of a jerk. In versions where she’s an accomplished reporter (S:TAS and even the original comics) that translates as her being dismissive (sometimes justifiably so) or really competitive.  MAWS Lois is an interesting spin on this- arguably she’s using people to get what she wants, but it’s not calculated, there’s no component of needing to defend her position against a challenger- it’s just rooted in the myopia of thinking her plan is the best plan and wanting her new friends along for the ride/to share in the spoils, before running headlong into the reality of Clark’s anger at being deceived. It’s a self-centeredness that’s much more conducive to a considered character arc- as much as I liked S:ATS, it wasn’t really a character-arcy kind of show for the supporting cast. It was a show about Superman. Much more of a triumvirate effect going on with Clark, Lois, and Jimmy, by contrast.
On this note- also interesting is the distinction between the origin of the name “Superman” in S:TAS and MAWS. Lois comes up with it in both versions, but in S:TAS she’s being cynical about it- she namedrops Nietzsche, and she has to be brought around. In MAWS she’s much more openly enthusiastic about it, but she’s also at a point in her career where she has much more to gain by hitching her wagon to the Superman narrative. Interesting distinction.
Jimmy is compelling! I’m curious what they’re going to do with him- they’ve gone a step beyond “cub reporter” to “cub reporter who’s also a conspiracy buff.” Moreover he’s a conspiracy buff in a setting where that’s a completely appropriate way to engage with the world, which can be a hard needle to thread. It’ll be interesting to see how much of a punching bag they make that element of his character. He’s also got a very good claim to the title of “Superman’s Pal-” they start the series knowing each other before the costume is a twinkle in Clark’s eye. That’s a compelling angle to work, one I like more than him being noticeably younger/less experienced than Clark and Lois.
I actually forgot about the Newsboy legion! Just like in general. Deep cut. They’re cute.

Modern Day AU
I spent a moment to think what everyone would be up to in a modern day AU.
Astarion: He was pre-law when he got caught up with Cazador. It's less a vampire spawn situation and a more straightforward abuse situation. I think in the AU he was also much younger when Cazador found him. Once he breaks free of Cazador, he might go back into law. He'd end up in therapy and he'd probably have to take a step back to re-evaluate what he wants in life.
Gale: Of course he's a professor. With magic off the table in this particular AU, he'd probably teach as many subjects as they'd let him. Students would constantly have deja vu seeing him in so many classes. He'd be teaching somewhere like Cambridge or Oxford. The subjects that came to mind were English, History of Art, Linguistics, Philosophy, and for reasons I can't explain, German.
Shadowheart: Her ass would be in a cult. She was kidnapped into some kind of Gloriavale situation as a kid. She'd eventually get a taste of freedom and leave the cult for good, especially if a Tav comes her way. Then she'd write a tell-all book and do a lot of Ted Talks about it. As she got older, she'd become more reclusive. She'd write books from her little countryside house full of animals.
Halsin: Halsin would still be a tree-hugging hippy. He'd have an environmentalism related job, like wind turbine technician, environmental technician, or solar installer. (I imagine he'd want something very hands on.) He'd 100% be part of a nudist colony. He'd still be poly, and he'd be very choosey about who he lets into the polycule.
Lae'zel: She'd go to university where she'd be expanding her world. It would force her to unpack her unhealthy home life is. She was probably raised in a jingoistic family. After discovering the power of friendship and self-discovery, she'd make better choices for herself. She'd still be INCREDIBLY disciplined so I imagine she'd be an athlete. Either she'd do professional rugby or MMA. She might do pro wrestling. She wouldn't join the theatrics on purpose. They'd just tap into her natural persona for her character.
Karlach: She worked for Gortash before he made a name for himself in politics. I'm still trying to work out exactly what would happen to her. I imagine he framed her in this universe and she spent 10 years in prison instead of Avernus. Now she's out and wants revenge... but also would love to get her life back. Possibly she has a chronic illness that, if untreated, could kill her. It's not a 1-to-1 for her heart situation, but close.
Jaheira: She refuses to ever retire from her work. She's been a part of almost every humanitarian world org that'll have her, like The Peace Corps. She now runs her own organization that travels the world for humanitarian efforts. She's a widow and she's still the mother to several adopted children.
Wyll: He was on track to make his father proud. He was going to Oxford to study politics until he realized how much he hated it. His father is the mayor of a major city. I'm hesitant to say London because it feels too obvious. Instead, Wyll drops out to pursue humanitarian work. This is where his path crosses with Jaheira as he joins her organization. His father just doesn't get it and they're at odds over it.
Minthara: Military brat who grew up to join the British Military. In her off time, she's in the BDSM scene.
Orin: She is either running a true crime podcast or being talked about on one. Either that or she's a CEO of a drug company a la The Fall of the House of Usher (2023).
Gortash: This dude is running as a Tory and you know it. He left a huge trail of problematic behavior on his Twitter. He made an anonymous Reddit account to post relationship problems on, but everyone figured out it was him almost immediately.
Barcus: This poor man is so tired. He never found his "dream" and he's been going from job to job for decades. After he starts to stand up for himself, he opens an online store based on all his interests and thrives.
I might do more later, but this is all I could think of for now.

Question about your Teenage Mutant What Now AU!
Has Leo always just been in puberty blockers since forever? Because I'm assuming he never had a period in his life because, well, reptiles menstruation is laying eggs
Kinda! I've actually thought about this a lot because I had the same question and went back and forth on it for a while. tldr; Leo has been on puberty blockers for the past three+ years and has never had a full menstrual cycle, but he does menstruate rather than lay eggs, at least when he's under the effect of his bracelet. Further details abt Leo's trans experience and how the cloaking crystals work below!
Leo has been on puberty blockers since he turned twelve and went on them before he had his first period. As we've established, Yoshi just kind of discovered that Leo was afab when he put the cloaking bracelets on them for the first time and was like "fuck it I don't have the time to unpack this right now you're Leo and you're my son whatever lesgo," and that was just kinda that and everyone involved was always just down with Leo being Leo. Leo certainly never had a problem with it, and he never felt any desire to switch over to being a girl and would get pretty upset if anyone (such as teachers or other parents) suggested he may be female. As such, Yoshi has always just treated Leo as his son and is more than willing to defend him from anyone who ever questioned his identity. His brothers, likewise, have always been very defensive of Leo and quite frankly were usually confused as children if anyone tried to say Leo was their sister. 'Cause??? Like??? Literally no he's not??? He's always been our brother???
When Leo was around eleven Yoshi did sit him down to actually talk to him about it in-depth, like, 'I love you no matter what and I support your choices but we've never actually for-real talked about this and I wanna make sure this is something that you want and not just something that you went along with,' (Leo, of course, at that point doesn't realize WHY he 'came out as trans' when he was five, he just kind of figures that he must have made the decision to start presenting as masc and go by 'Leo' when he was very little and doesn't remember it now,) as well as discuss the option of puberty blockers with him and ask if that's something he wants. And Leo is 1000% like. YES, I'm sure I'm a boy and YES I want to go on puberty blockers so very much I've been dreading the concept of puberty for months now pleeeesssase let's do that. So... they do, and that's that!
(And Yoshi would have gone along with whatever Leo said, but internally he's like, OH THANK GOD, because he's also like ?!?! How tf would turtle puberty translate?! Would the cloaking crystals cover that??? Surely my son wouldn't lay FUCKING EGGS but holy shit what if he did and would I be morally obligated to warn him just in case--!?!)
I do think that the cloaking crystals cover menstruation, however. In this AU, the cloaking crystals (at least the ones the Hamatos have) do provide an active transforming effect rather than just a 'disguise.' I don't think it could really work otherwise! It's definitely not a 100% transformative effect, though, and their true biology still plays a major influence on them. (ie they get cold easily! They swim really well and can hold their breath for a long time! They're naturally more athletically inclined than most other kids and a lot hardier! etc. etc. etc.) but I don't think it would leave gaps as big as to let them lay eggs or anything like that, just like it doesn't allow them to shed their skin or to go into full brumation. It's also worth noting that they're turtle mutants, but they're not full turtles. They're half-human, too! So who's to say if Leo would lay eggs even if didn't have the cloaking crystals or the puberty blockers? He does end up having one little baby period right after he goes on blockers, which is not super uncommon, and is very dramatic about it, but April big-sisters him through it and he hasn't had any since. In the fic he is currently in the process of starting testosterone in the near future, which is something that will be discussed/explored in later chapters!

~ A Sticky Spider's Web ~
An Explained Post that Untangles Arachne's Web in My Own Words
Tumblr media
⚠️ WARNING ⚠️
This post contains spoilers beyond this point!
Although I do not personally believe that these spoilers will inhibit the gameplay experience, if you would like to play this short game before reading my post, please scroll to the bottom for a link to where it can be downloaded!
Tumblr media
Bold of you to assume I'd stop playing spooky horror games just because it's November. After all, they're one of my favorite genres! And last night I had the pleasure of experiencing another one of @starwarspurgefan 's suggestions -- Spider's Web by Teamsin3
Full Disclosure -- Although I wasn't as completely impressed with this game as I was with Birthday Kid, I still found it adorable, intriguing, and charming. There isn't a lot of lore to unpack with this lil one, but I still want to share my thoughts about what the true story behind it all really is~
Tumblr media
Yes, I will be loading this post with official Arachne art. Leave me alone, she's adorable!
So, a little synopsis to start. Spider's Web is less of a... horror game and more of a spooky mystery with horror elements. Which is fine too, I love those just as much! Throughout the game you play as Arachne, exploring your house and learning bits of information about your mother. Arachne is obviously very aware of all the lore you discover while exploring, but it's presented in a very mysterious way for you as a player, which helps make the game more intriguing.
Additionally, the game very subtly hints you in the right direction to discover everything necessary in the game. It even pushes you to experience all of the bad endings before unlocking the True Ending, which is a mechanic I really enjoyed.
Tumblr media
Although you aren't aware of it when starting the game it becomes very quickly apparent, regardless of what ending you unlock first, that Arachne is a young Jorogumo (spider-woman yokai) living with her mother. Not only is her mother a widow, but it's heavily implied that their species of Jorogumo is specifically belonging to the "true widow" genus of spiders. More on that later.
Each ending divulges a little more detail about Arachne's situation with her mother as she struggles to find a way to leave the house. Unlocking these endings all involve an interesting series of puzzles revolving around blood splatters, hidden rooms, and thirsty spiderplants. However, those aren't the only important things about these endings; seeing as there are several bad endings and only one good ending, which is also the True Ending, it stands to reason that most of these endings are representative of poor decisions that Arachne could have made.
Because of this, I think the best way for me to explain my thoughts would be to elaborate on the symbolism of the bad endings first. Buckle up, kiddos!
Tumblr media
The easiest ending to unlock is the Bloodlust Ending. Why? Because all you need to do is interact with all of the blood splatters in the house.
Relatively straightforward, this ending is what would happen if Arachne were to give in to her instinctual bloodlust and devour her first human. Of course, this would be a mistake on her part because she gives in to becoming a monster, which is a fate Arachne has the ability to change for the better.
The next easiest endings to achieve are the two where you use Special Scissors to cut the web covering the front door. At that point, Mother appears and chases you, prompting you to get a different ending depending on whether she catches you or not. If she does catch you, it's pretty likely that Mother kills Arachne out of anger and betrayal, and if you happen to escape then Arachne abandons her Mother on bad terms.
Both of these endings clearly represent Arachne's potential mistake of trying to run away without settling things at home, which could come with major consequences. For real, guys, you can't run away from your problems and expect them to disappear.
Another bad ending, Like Mother Like Daughter, is the only ending achieved by unlocking the Cellar. There you meet Mother and witness her several cocooned victims hanging from the ceiling. It's implied that Arachne gives in to her bloodlust in this ending as well, devouring the victims alongside hr Mother.
Moral of the story?
My best insinuation is Willpower. Arachne makes the mistake of giving up what she believes in (not eating men whom she doesn't love) and becomes exactly like her Mother. Which is something that we later on come to understand that Arachne really doesn't want to do.
The last bad ending is also particularly alarming. You achieve it if you do everything necessary for the True Ending but make the mistake of interacting with any of the blood splatters. Here, Arachne finds her mother's bedroom, looks in the mirror and has a massive panic attack as she realizes that she's all alone and will seemingly never find love. Arachne then cuts at herself several times with the Special Scissors until she dies...
This ending explains to us a few different things:
• Arachne apparently suffers from severe depression stemmed from a deep loneliness.
• Jorogumo instinct is so powerful that the only way for Arachne to retain her innocence is to avoid temptation altogether. Pretty insightful considering spiders represent temptation itself.
• This ending would most likely happen eventually if Arachne never manages to leave the house, even after the endings where she becomes a monster.
• This is actually a callback to the intro of the game, where Arachne muses that she's essentially suffocating. That is very clearly the beginnings of a panic attack (triggered by feeling trapped in some way) which implies that throughout the entire game Arachne is fighting off this growing sense of anxiety and pressure.
Tumblr media
Now for the True Love Ending -- the good and canonical ending with the most details of the story.
Essentially the moral of the story here is that if Arachne can manage to resist her Jorogumo instincts, then she can achieve happiness by becoming a better person than her mother. But, this can only be achieved by remembering the True Love that Arachne's father taught the two of them.
Here, we learn that Arachne's Mother would date (and possibly marry) men time and again before devouring them. That is, until meeting a man who embraced her spider-side and appreciated her for it, rather than treating her like a monster.
That man became Arachne's father, and the two were very happy together. However, unfortunately when he began to shift his love from his wife to Arachne, Mother became so jealous that.... Well, it's implied that Mother devoured him out of jealousy, and then immediately regretted the action so badly that she refused to ever marry again.
Arachne grew up, but has been struggling and struggling to find a suitor for herself, and whenever she disapproves of one Mother will devour them instead of Arachne.
In the end, Arachne has come to the realization that she wants to go out into the world and find someone who loves her the way that her Father loved Mother. This is the only way that she'll be satisfied, but for pretty obvious reasons she's unsure how to break the news to Mother.
Still, Arachne succeeds because she finally understands that everything her mother has done...has been a show of her love. Despite possessing the Special Scissors, Arachne refuses to cut Mother's Web. Instead, when Mother appears Arachne tells her that she loves her, but it's time for her to find the True Love that her Father taught them both about. And finally... Mother understands Arachne's desires, and allows her to go out into the world.
Arachne untangles the web instead of cutting it, symbolic of preserving her connection to her mother instead of severing it as she had on all of the previous endings.
This ending was.... really sweet and beautiful. Definitely worth all of the tedious puzzles to unlock.
Although this game is very mature and leaves some to be desired, it's definitely a fun game worth experiencing!
I'm especially intrigued with the amount of research the creators seem to have done on widow spiders, since Mother only shows up when you touch her web, and in my own research I turned up...
Tumblr media
It stands to reason that Mother shows up only when you touch her web because she can feel the vibrations through the silk!
Such a cool little detail...

elysian.
─── THE BEGINNING ; 03.
Tumblr media
elysian adjective; relating to or characteristic of paradise
summary: when you lose your job out of the blue, you’re pretty sure this is the end of the road for you. at least until you reconnect with your childhood best friend aether and he offers you your ideal job and a place to stay. the only condition is that his office will be behind the store you’ll be running, and under no circumstances are you permitted to enter. that’s how you begin your new life as a florist, though you’re not sure how to focus on working when aether seems to have too many pretty boys working both for and against him. your fresh start gets a whole lot more interesting when you discover just how many secrets these men are hiding, but somehow you think you’ll still be able find the elysian ending of your dreams.
pairing: various genshin male characters x gn!reader
a/n: this chapter is so long but wahhh finally !!! requests for elysian will officially open after this ! i'm so excited to see what you all come up with omgjkskdjsk :D <3
previous. // elysian masterlist.
Tumblr media
"For the last time, I don't know what you're talking about! And no, I'm not saying anything else until I get a lawyer.”
You lean back in your seat defiantly, folding your arms over your chest. Strands of white hair frame the face of the officer opposite you, offset by his red eyes boring into yours and searching for even a hint of deceit in your gaze. When he finds nothing, his stern stare doesn’t change, but he exhales slowly and leaves the room.
The other officer in the room gets up and hands you a glass of water. He has messy gray hair and teal eyes, and because of his simple kindness you think he must be slightly friendlier than the one who was interrogating you. “Hey, can you let me out of here? I haven’t done anything wrong, I swear!” Asking one of the guys who arrested you to set you free is a definite shot in the dark, but you suppose it’s better than nothing. He doesn’t reply, but he quirks an eyebrow and you frantically scan the name on his tag, “...Al-Haitham? Listen, I seriously was just minding my own business when you stopped us. Is it even legal to randomly bring people in?!” Haitham rests against the cabinet in the back of the room and doesn’t answer your question, “Why do you want to be set free?” “Because I want to go home, dumbass. Is that so difficult to understand?” you scowl at him, and somewhere in the back of your mind you can hear a voice saying that it’s probably best if you don’t insult the officer in charge for now, but you choose to ignore it. “No.” He doesn’t elaborate or offer a reaction and you groan.
This has got to be the most idiotic conversation you have ever had, and you once argued with Aether and Lumine for an hour about whether water was wet. And you don’t even have anyone to blame, you and Kaeya were just driving around with him pointing out the sights when an officer pulled you over for a random inspection and decided to bring you over to the station without even an explanation. If you had just shut up and stayed home, by now your apartment would be unpacked and ready, but instead you’re stuck in a dreary room with tiled floors and stained walls.
Just then, the door swings open and the officer who left earlier enters with an indecipherable expression, “You can leave. Haitham, escort them out.” Relief swells in your heart, and you jump off the chair and practically skip out, accompanied by Al-Haitham. In the main lobby of the police station, you notice a tall man with blue hair and matching eyes surveying the area with an aura so intimidating it’s as if he was the owner. A chirpier blonde man scans the room, and when his green eyes land on you, his face breaks out into a huge smile, “Sir Kamisato, Y/N’s here.”
Kamisato? The name rings a bell, and you mentally dig around your brain until it clicks. Wait. Kamisato? As in Kamisato Ayato, the heir to Yashiro, one of the biggest corporations in Teyvat?! And more importantly, why does he seem to know you? The two of them stroll up to you, and the blonde man sticks his hand out to shake yours vigorously, “Hello! I’m Thoma, Kamisato Ayato’s bodyguard, chauffeur, retainer…” Ayato tilts his head, “It’s safe to say he is very multi-talented. And so are you, it seems.” “Pardon?” You’re not sure what he’s insinuating until his smile turns cunning, “Not everyone manages to end up getting interrogated by the Chief Officer Cyno.” You frown, irritation edging your tone, “I think we both know I would prefer that hadn’t happened. How do you even know who I am?” “I’m a friend of Aether’s,” Ayato smiles mysteriously, but before he can elaborate further, the door opens so roughly that it slams against the wall and threatens to break off its hinges as a group of guys stumble in.
“I had advised you against rushing in,” a tall man with a long ponytail sighs, “I’m not sure why you request for advice that you instantly ignore.” “For fun! Or perhaps you don’t know what that means, Zhongli,” a much shorter man with twin braids grins, “Anyway, it’s a good thing that Ragnvindr guy got fired.” “Indeed. He would have locked Y/N up without a second thought,” Zhongli agrees before adding, “But I still believe you should have followed my advice.” “I think that must be Y/N over there!” another man with artfully messy maroon hair and a mole dotting his cheek cuts in before their bickering can start again and points at you. You’re staring blankly at this whole exchange when yet another man with white hair streaked with red steps forward to introduce himself, “Kaedehara Kazuha, at your service. Aether instructed us to bring you back to the florist.”
Now you’re really getting annoyed. “I’ve had quite enough of people claiming to know Aether, thank you very much. I’ll find my own way back.” “Unfortunately, that will not be possible,” a man with brown hair and blue eyes replies, “It’s too dangerous to let you go alone. Aether would be very worried.” “Not to mention he would have our heads!” the short man pipes up, to which the maroon hair knocks him on the top of his head, “Shut up, Venti.” “If Aether’s so worried, why can’t he come get me himself?” you glower, and all of them unconsciously take a step back at the intensity of your death stare.
“Seeing as we were the ones who got Y/N out, perhaps it would be best if we sent her back-” Thoma starts, but is easily shut down by Zhongli, “No. That is not a feasible option considering our clear differences.” The simple sentence seems to hint at something much heavier, and Thoma groans before admitting defeat. “Just let us send you back,” Kazuha pleads, “On a samurai’s honour, you will return safely.” You jut your chin outwards, “That’s not enough. I want to know the truth as well.” “The… truth?” “Yes. I’m 100% certain it’s not normal for me to be interrogated about all the people working at some flower shop in the middle of nowhere.” “Did you say anything?” the maroon headed man’s gaze flicks sharply to yours, and Kazuha swats his arm, “Heizou, even if they did-” “Did you?” Heizou presses on and you give him a dirty look, “No. I’m not an idiot. Or a snake.” “Better than Kaeya, at least,” Venti snickers, and Heizou elbows him, “Kaeya isn’t a snake… he’s just slippery.” But even Heizou’s voice sounds doubtful.
Then he snaps himself out of it, “Regardless, we will be taking you back now. And good job for not saying anything.” Heizou turns around and starts to walk away, flanked by everyone except Kazuha, who at least gives you an apologetic shrug first. You glance at Ayato and Thoma as if seeking assistance, but all you see is an amused smile playing about Ayato’s lips and a tight smile on Thoma’s face. When he catches you looking, Ayato smirks, “Don’t worry. I suspect we’ll be seeing a lot more of each other soon. Get home safe.”
With no other choice, you sigh, groan, and roll your eyes in quick succession before hurrying after them. Maybe taking up Aether’s offer wasn’t such a good idea after all.
—
After what has to be both the longest and simultaneously most awkward car ride you have ever been in your life (it wasn’t helped by the fact that the driver was the most muscled man you have ever seen, and he wouldn’t shut up the entire time), you finally reach the florist and you’re ready to just crash into bed. But the minute you see Aether silhouetted in the doorway, your fatigue disappears, replaced by a desperate desire to know what’s really going on. From the secretive looks shared between the men in the car and the two guys at the police station, not to mention the fact that their so-called office is situated at the edge of the city, it feels like everyone is in on a secret and you’re purposely being kept out of the loop.
“What the hell is going on, Aether? I trusted you. Why won’t you do the same for me?” That barrage of questions is the first thing that comes out of your mouth when you’re close enough to speak to him. It feels like a dam in your mind’s been broken and all your worries about jumping headfirst into a suggestion with so many unknowns combined with your stress from being fired and evicted are flooding out. “Listen, Y/N,” Aether looks pained, and the seriousness of his expression is enough to make you stop in your tracks before you can scold him even more, “I didn’t want to tell you this at first, but now I think it’s best if you know. Would you mind having a seat?”
You pull up a chair and look expectantly at him, “So, what is it?” Aether sits opposite you, seeming as if a million and one things are rushing through his mind at the speed of a bullet train, “You remember my sister, don’t you?” “Yeah, Lumine. Of course I do,” you don’t understand where he’s going with this. Obviously you remember his sister; the three of you were inseparable in university, but the two of them had always been joined at the hip, closer than any other siblings you had seen before. You often wondered just how much the two of them had been through that bound them so close together. But as uni friends often do, you all had fallen out of contact, your rare interactions stemming from mere posts on social media, and even that had trickled to an end eventually. “Right. Well, she’s gone missing,” Aether can’t meet your eyes when he admits it. “What?!” it takes you a few seconds to process, “What do you mean?” “Gone without a trace. Not even a text,” he sounds clinical, detached from the story as if he’s gone over this many times in the past.
“But… what happened? Lumine wouldn’t just up and leave like that.” “I’m not sure if you remember, but Lumi was always into journalism. She was always busy looking for ‘the next big scoop’, and she had special obsession with politics. She liked exploring, poking around in places she shouldn’t be, and…” here his voice breaks slightly, but he forces himself to continue, “I think that she saw something she wasn’t supposed to, and they took her away.” “Who did?” “The government; the Abyss Order. Or maybe the Fatui.” You shudder at the mention of the government’s special operations service; they’ve been rumoured to have murdered hundreds, if not thousands, of people globally without hesitation nor remorse – they acted purely according to instruction.
“What does that have to do with this place? Or me?” While you’re reeling from the impact of what he’s just accused the Abyss Order of, you still want to know how this correlates to your current situation. “Well, I obviously wanted to get her back. So I started searching around, hunting for information, that kind of thing. And I found out that Lumine wasn’t the only potential victim. There were people disappearing all the time, I’d see their families posting about it online. But I didn’t want to stop at just a cry for help on some random internet forum - I wanted to go further. I wanted to find Lumine and punish those who had unjustly taken her.” Your mouth feels dry, and you’re not sure how much you want to hear what comes next, but you know it’s something that you have to listen to.
“I found a bunch of people with similar mindsets who had the same thing happen to them, and we…” his voice trails off, but he keeps going, “We started what could be called a support group at best… but a gang at worst. And we don’t do anything bad, I promise. We just keep our ears to the ground and find out things we aren’t supposed to know, and Y/N, you won’t believe how deep this corruption runs within the system.” “So, essentially you invited me here, knowing how badly I needed a job and a place to stay, just to work as a cover for a gang,” your throat feels tight, and your heart is threatening to shatter, “Y’know, for a second there, I really thought you genuinely cared.” You move to leave, but Aether stands in your path, “But I do! I didn’t mean to involve you in this business at all, you were just supposed to live your dream and run a peaceful flower shop and stay in the apartment upstairs. You weren’t supposed to find out about any of this.” Your gaze softens – you’ve known Aether long enough to know when he’s lying and when he’s telling the truth, and you recognise that he honestly wanted to keep you in the dark about the whole thing.
“But now that I do know, what are you going to do?” “Nothing,” Aether states, a mask of calmness slipping into place, “What happens next is up to you.” “What?” “You can either go to the police and tell them everything I just told you,” he begins, “Or you can stay with us, and work, as you put it, as a cover for a gang.” You fall silent, the protests bubbling up on your lips dying in seconds as you do your best to observe the circumstances rationally and figure out what to do next. But deep down, you already know what you’re going to choose. Perhaps your decision was decided for you the second you met Aether in that coffee shop. You don’t even listen to how he’s explaining, “-if anything happens, you can claim plausible deniability-” before you say, “I’m staying. I can’t leave you now.” “Really?” Aether’s in disbelief, but he manages a grin when you nod, “I’ll be your spy florist.”
And that’s the story of how you ended up as a florist for a gang. It wasn’t that great of a job, but the people you got to interact with daily made things much better, and if anything, that’s where the real story starts – within the elysian new life you carved out for yourself.

So let’s unpack this:
El mentions Will might be painting something for a girl…
Although Mike tried to be nonchalant about it, he confronts Will about said painting at the airport, only to be blown off, basically proving El’s suspicions correct in Mike’s eyes…
What followed directly after was Angela’s name being repeated multiple times, on two separate occasions.
First, Mike looks uncomfortable upon hearing Will repeat Angela’s name at the airport. Wonder why…
Then, Mike looks distracted after meeting Angela (“Angela. Pleasure.” “Heard a lot about you! 😅”)
So distracted in fact, that instead of going along with El and her ‘friends’, like any normal boyfriend would, he sits there busying himself awkwardly, just as Will jumps up and presumably stares off longingly at Angela rolling away with El, with Mike looking literally anywhere but that direction, visibly unsettled.
But then proving that he actually was paying attention, the second Will shows an ounce of concern, it’s Mike whose now jumping to his feet.
While most of the audience was given the impression that Mike didn’t keep touch with Will, and understandably so, seeing as Mike didn’t correct Will when he argued Mike only called a couple times. The reality is, according to Dustin at least, Mike called the Byers residence enough to warrant him referring to Mike, in present time, as still ‘whining’ about it. It’s been over year since the Byers moved away… so does that mean Mike never stopped trying?
Also worth noting, to those that aren’t already aware, Mike and El couldn’t talk over the landline because of government surveillance on Mike’s end. Which means, if Mike was calling the Byers residence, enough to still be whining about this inconvenience of Joyce’s new job to Dustin, it wasn’t bc of El…
But, I think the funniest thing I discovered making this little montage, was the ironic transition from Joyce saying PRICK and hanging up the phone, to Will innocently painting unaware.. like… could this have been a comical hint at how Mike must have been feeling, the countless times be tried calling Will, only to be met with a busy line… like, “PRICK!!”

PLEASE i want to hear about n?evan i love her so so much. idk what exactly to ask uh. whats their dynamic with their siblings like and how does it change over the course of both her and their character development? (is that too complex?)
orrrrr n?evan and tssiu!evan similarities/differences
-cross
Uhhh at the start n? Evan has a pretty okay relationship with Liz? Mike has moved out by now and Liz is all she really has now. Of course, he notices Liz is weird and avoidant and dodgy but to him that’s just how she is.
Mike and Evan don’t talk. Evan resents him a bit extra for just leaving one day especially because Liz was super upset about it. But overall it’s just ur run of the mill shitty sibling relationship
Even when Ev discovers Liz and William, they still prefer Liz over mike because they KNOW Liz is being used and they KNOW she needs help but mike not only set Evan up to discover them but also did a lot of reckless things that got Evan into danger (like calling the cops, since Will and Liz had no idea Michael knew already and turned on Evan immediately)
However, unlike kill ur dad mike, n?mike is not prioritizing himself. He did go back once he realized his mistake to save Evan but overall he has no interest in working with them. And getting Evan to know was in itself a selfish thing because Michael didn’t like that Evan was so comfortable there because he knew it was fake and he felt that maybe if Evan knew, things would get fixed faster
Of course Evan panicked and did the exact opposite because, yk, that’s a LOT to unpack
I think the biggest difference between tssiu!Evan and n?Evan is that tssiu is not half as timid. He doesn’t have as much to be afraid of yk? And yk he tried talking out things between him and mike already and didn’t go well so that ship pretty much sailed. Meanwhile n? Au Evan had WAY worse experiences as a child with Michael (not the bite, but just in general) and is both afraid of him and hateful towards him. But she swallows that back and tries to be civil which isn’t good for either of them tbh
But they’re both Evan at heart and are kindhearted and want to help people. They just don’t know how

Aaaaand here’s part two of my previous post! Hurray!♡
(I am writing this at 10 pm, hahaha…)
10° “Beach Episode, Beach Episode, BEACH EPISODE”:
. . .Yeah, i wanna see Phantasmo with his chest exposed. . . So what?
And also Charlie and him making a “”friendly”” competition of volleyball… (i wanna see if he’s good at sports, lol)
11° “Gala ball EP”:
Yup, i just wanna see Charlie and Phantasmo dancing together. Also, fun fact about why it would be cool a Gala ball EP: many years ago, there was a event where (i believe) all the artists could draw their ocs going to a gala ball, and Jencil was among them. It would be a time travel to that time but this time Dr. Phantasmo would be in there! (By the way, Jencil, if you’re reading this, know all of this is just a suggestion/ideas for your webcomic, so, no pressure! :D) + bonus points if Charlie and Phantasmo dance together without knowing who’s dancing with who (like, a masquerade) or they know who they are dancing with and start a “hate tango” or something like that.
12° “Charlie’s going to find out about Phantasmo’s past… (somehow)”:
I’m actually curious for this one because: how would Charlie react upon discovering her arch nemesis past? Would she ask if Phantasmo remembers anything? How would HE react at her discovering something so personal about him? And also, how would she discover it? (If this never happens in the comic, i’ll ask Jencil and Fluff if i can write a Fanfic about this)
13° “EP on how Charlie and Phantasmo met each other”:
+ Bonus points if we hear (alongside with Cortney) them telling their own version of their first encounter: i have both a theory AND a fanfic idea, hear me out: do y’all see this picture? (That is actually a gif but i saved it as a picture, pardon me)
Tumblr media
It was made by Fluffpillow. And do you know what’s funny? Charlie here, is looking scared of Phantasmo… now, you wouldn’t think she would be scared of him if she knew him, right? That’s why, hear me out, that i think this gif is when they met each other for the first time!
14° “there is going to have an EP where Charlie and Phanta will get stuck together and they’ll both vent their feelings”
I imagine this happening after the 13° one: i still am thinking where and how would they get stuck together. But, i already have an idea of how they would vent their feelings: Charlie would start the conversation after the events of her discovery of Phanta’s past. . . And the rest i will reveal later, because i’m feeling a little evil right now AND because it’s going to be midnight and i still have a lot to unpack here, hehehe~
15° “Christmas EP where Carter accidentally invited Phantasmo and now Charlie will have to be nice with him”:
I dunno about you guys but…, i can perfectly see Carter accidentally inviting Phantasmo and then being way too scared of being rude to “uninvite” (is that a word…?) him. So, he (Carter) tells Charlie to behave herself and be nice towards him (Phantasmo) until Christmas is over and Phantasmo would be no longer inside their house… (things sure do happen)
16° “Charlie and Carter will help Phanta fix/clean his mansion”:
Hehehehe~ i already imagine Phantasmo taking advantage of that kindness, that’s all i’m going to say hehehehe~
17° “Halloween EP where Viola (phanta’s daughter) will go trick or treating with Cortney… and things sure DO happen…”:
I dunno about you guys but… i actually would think it would be kind of sweet to see child Viola happy🥹 and also Charlie would be reminded of why she should fear Phantasmo… :) (if you saw the body transplant video Fluff made… you know what i am talking about…) i’ll probably create ANOTHER post just to focus better on this. And oh, this would probably happen after the 14° one… take that information as you will. ;)
18° “Valentine’s Day Episode, Valentine’s Day Episode, VALENTINE’S DAY EP-“:
. . . . .*takes a big breath* I THINK THEY SHOULD KISS-
19° “hopefully it will explain why Phantasmo’s hands were detached from his forearms”:
I am just really intrigued by this, that’s all.
And that’s all folks! See you all on my next post!

do I know about welcome to dark fuck princess island yet... if not I would like to.
HAHA... welcome to dark fuck princess island is the amalgamation of stuff pruned from two other beefleaf fics, one being my big unpublished postcanon sqx fic and the other being the most recent one i posted, which was supposed to have a postcanon section to it that i had to cut due to a deadline that was going to come before i could finish writing it...
i have plans to do a sensitive, emotionally realistic character study of postcanon shi qingxuan that charts a believable beefleaf reconciliation arc while prioritizing sqx's agency and self-worth. that's the big one. this is the wretched idfic runoff of that other fic, which is superior in every way but makes you wait quite a bit longer for them to fuck nasty
to be more specific... my postcanon sqx fic originally had a real deep vein of gothic romance going on that i eventually realized was chafing super hard at the main thrust of the story, which has a pretty different tone and vibe to it. (it's obviously still a little bit gothic romance because it's a romance fic about getting back together with the ghost who killed your brother so you know.) so i took the stuff that was the most, like, lesbian phantom of the opera out of there and combined it with stuff that i cut from my most recent fic (which in case you haven't read it, is about them hooking up lesbianly during the long con era in a way where he xuan is power tripping hard via some non-negotiated d/s and verbal humiliation stuff. lol,). that cut stuff was about beefleaf reuniting postcanon in a mildly dubcon lesbian harlequin romance manner and having really ill-advised sex shortly afterwards, which is like, surely going to have negative implications for both of their mental health and well-being. but sqx is also experiencing a lot of intense emotions over the fact that the sex they're having is unambiguously lesbian in nature and it's really emotionally confusing and guilt-inducing that even though she's legitimately pretty scared of this person a) they both clearly still desire each other carnally despite everything and b) whatever else sqx may be feeling, she realizes that hx still "gets" her gender more than anyone else has or possibly ever will... she feels seen... :(
it's some kind of situation where sqx gets sick or injured in some way in their day to day life, wakes up at nether water manor having been benevolently kidnapped, and then proceeds to be a gothic fantasy ya novel heroine wandering around the haunted mansion she's not technically "imprisoned" within but also has no way to leave... also after the first interaction or two they have, which are just supremely awkward because they're both in the same place they were when Alla That happened and also in the same forms they were then, hx is female form-ing it up... this is really genuinely just trashy erotic horror, so sqx is like unpacking the implications of their now retrospectively dubcon dalliances past while finding herself thrilled and terrified to discover that it doesn't make her want hx any less... i think sqx has also been having gory horrific erotic dreams about hx intermittently over the past however-long-it's-been. and she feels really fucked up and stupid and embarrassing for not being over it.
but this is not like slow burn or anything so they DO have sex again way more quickly than they ought to and the vibes are super rancid but like, in a sexy way, like peak [ao3 tag voice] Consensual But It Shouldn't Be. "on god you two should never see each other again for your own good but it's too late now so you might as well give in to your dark passions" shit. the most embarrassing aspect of all of this is that i think it ends with some kind of impulsive shotgun elopement which, in my head at least, is modeled after this one corvosider fic i read 10 years ago that nonetheless left a BIG impact on my psyche
so. that's. that. LOL
