While browsing some posts, I found a 50-day anime challenge. As I have been familiar with anime more or less for 14 years, I have thought to try it. So let's start it.

Day 1. How I got into anime?

As long as I remember the first ones I have seen were the same ones that most 90s kids were watching. So it was Pokemon, Digimon, Sailor Moon, Shaman King, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Dragon Ball. I remember that a lot of kids were running home from school to watch epic fights of Goku. Even my grandma was a big fan of this anime. But my anime road hadn't started there. I remember that I found a website of Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh fan. He also suggested to watch s-CRY-ed.

It wasn't popular anime and it still isn't today. But I was like okay, let's try it. And somehow it got me into this world. After that followed Shakugan no Shana.

And after that, there was Zero no Tsukaima.

After watching Shakugan no Shana and Zero no Tsukaima I was like, oh man, I can't wait for other seasons. So I was searching for what to watch to fill the waiting time between the seasons. And here I am today with a list of watched anime which reaches more than 700 different anime movies and TV shows.

40 Day Anime Challenge 2023 Edition - Day 25: Best dressed character

Basically every single CLAMP manga character

From Cardcaptor Sakura to Tsubasa, from Chobits to RG Veda, every single CLAMP series is absolutely stellar with its gorgeous artwork, incredible stories, and KILLER fashion styles for the characters. These are just some examples I could find (most were fan art that I couldn't find the source material for -.-"), but seriously. Even the simplest of CLAMP's stories has some of the most adorable, gorgeous, and aesthetically pleasing outfits you wish you could pull off in the real world lol

Fashion Dreamer 50 Day (but not really) Challenge: Yellow

I think it's a great, lively colour for standing out - just like idols do :D The set I used for type A is perfect for J-Pop idols imo! There weren't a lot of idol-like clothes for type B though, so I went with something a little casual inspired by one of the only K-Pop groups I (kind of) follow, Plave haha.

WAITING TIMES (PLEASE READ)

Thanks to the amazing support of my Patrons, I no longer need to do commissions to sustain myself for bare essentials like rent and food. But that means that I am now only working on commission work if I need extra money. This means that waiting times can be very long, and should be considered indefinite! Even when I was working on commissions as my full time job, waiting times were up to 11 months long! This is now going to increase, and if you aren’t already on the waiting list please factor a wait of at least 2 years. This kinda sucks, but as an artist I don’t really want to be working on commissions forever and being able to spend more time on my own work is very fulfilling! My commissions work on a waitlist system. Moving forward, if I am in a position where I need to work on commissions I will work slowly through my waiting list. If I message you and you are no longer financially in a place to work get something like this done, no stress! I’ll keep your spot at the top and anytime you have the money I can fit you into my schedule and get to work :)

Sometimes I look into Behind The Code's early development and feel both embarrassed and relieved that I won't be working on it for a while.

It really isn't much of a deal, but I know how I posted updates without really showing any progress. I'd write two paragraphs for the script, give up on it, come back two weeks later and start from scratch. And the period between each gap got larger with time.

Majority of the time I 1. worried about people's opinions on the storytelling 2. worried about not being experienced enough as a writer and as an animator to work on an animated series and 3. failed to realize I shouldn't work on an ambitious project like BTC by myself at a young age, while studying and working every day.

And boy, it was quite ambitious.

"The story should be impeccable, none of it should be even SLIGHTLY problematic or overly challenging. All characters should appear at some point (there are over 50 of them). The soundtrack must be perfectly fitting for the situation. It's fine if the animation seems flawed, but it has to be fluid 70% of the time. I must add secret characters and hidden easter eggs in every episode. There will be a total of 7 episodes, 20-45 minutes each. It must have voice acting..." and the list goes on.

A year ago I'd be very disappointed in myself for interrupting the project (or even accepting the fact I wouldn't do most of the things listed), but now I realize I was just a kid, doing kid things and having fun. I regret nothing, and at the moment, I truly wish to get back to BTC after graduating as a biologist and getting a job.

Well, I've made it to day 50 and this is thankfully an easy one for me.

These two. Across every iteration and every timeline and every single universe in the Fate showcase. Waver Velvet and Rider are the best duo, whether it's teen Waver and King of Conquerors Iskandar in Fate/Zero, Zhuge Liang pseudoservant and Teen Alexander in Fate/Grand Order, Lord El Melloi II pining for his bestie, or any other combination in the canon. Waver and Rider are the best duo for me. Whether it's considered a bromance, romance, or somewhere off that spectrum, they're just perfect.

The road to Wealth mod adds a Net Worth system to your game. Depending on your Sims net worth (property value + cash) they will automatically receive a trait and the trait will also be automatically updated when your Sim goes into another class. The five traits are: poor, lower class, middle class, upper class, and wealthy.

The new traits have also been added to preferences, so your Sim can like or dislike a certain net worth class. If they are in a net worth class they don't like they will receive negative buffs and if they are in a net worth class they do like they will receive positive buffs. Also, it is harder to make friends with Sims who are in a net worth class your Sim dislikes and easier with Sims who are in a net worth class your Sim does like.

Not only does this mod add a net worth system it also adds more ways for your Sims to spend or earn money:

They can now go on activities, by themselves or with friends and family.

They'll have to pay an entrance fee on certain lots that have the new lot challenge activated: Entrance Fee.

They can purchase memberships, so they don't have to pay the entrance fee anymore. These memberships will last 7 or 14 days.

They might receive scam calls where they either loose or win a lot of money.

They can take out a loan. Paying back the loan works the same as the Discovery University loan system, but the system has been made Base Game Compatible and has become less buggy.

Poor and lower class Sims can now search for money on certain furniture items.

Instead of selling all your inventory items directly in the inventory your Sims can now sell their items at the new stores. The interaction can be found in the shopping tab on their phone or computer. Not only can your Sims sell their items at these store they can also purchase item from these stores.

And there is also a new aspiration available: Road to Wealth.

Then this mod also comes with a few optional files. All these optional files are optional and the reason they are optional is because they are either overrides or they require DLC.

Lot Prices: changes the price of each lot in game. You can choose to have them all as §0 or the original price x 5 or x 10.

Starting Funds: changes the amount of money a new household starts with. Your Sim will have to pay back this money. It's a loan! 

Adoption & Animals: changes the prices of all adoptions and animals (except for goats, sheep, cows, llamas, and chickens). Also, animal food has become more expensive.

Diaper & Bottle: adds pricing to each diaper change and each bottle feed. Cloth diapers and breastfeeding is free.

Reward Store: adds 50% of the original price to any rewards store item. For example if it costs 2000 it will now cost 3000.

Science Baby: makes having a science baby a lot more expensive!

Services: all services have now become more expensive. This includes massages, manicures, and pedicures.

University: All university classes have become more expensive.

WE'RE BACK TO ANNUAL, EVERYONE!!! Seventh Ontario Fic Writers' Retreat, first held in 2016, coming once again in 2024.

Where: Blue Mountain Chalets, Collingwood, Ontario

What is it? Four days spent with other fic writers, at all levels of experience. There will be a mix of workshops (Topics TBA and open to suggestions), prompts and challenges, and plenty of independent writing time for your own personal projects. (This year there's also a hot tub and an optional trip to the beach!)

It’s also an opportunity to make connections with people who share your interests and passions, and where you can focus on your own goals and creativity.

Cost (in CANADIAN DOLLARS): $450.00

Accommodation (Shared rooms but NOT shared beds - sorry)

***A note regarding meals: They'll look a little different this year - we'll be making our own! The venue is a pair of summer chalet/cottage spaces with full kitchens. 16/50 days of productivity

It's yet another rainy day, but I am indeed feeling better. I am still a bit more tired than usual and I struggle to stay focused for long, but it's overall much better. I can't wait to spend tomorrow reading and relaxing to recharge before the new week.

Productivity:

wrote a couple of book reviews

edited all the book reviews I have in my drafts (I have fallen behind a bit espeically with reading challenge updates, but those will take a bit more time to be posted. Look out tomorrow because there'll be a few book review posts!)

watched and annotated one and a half history of religions lectures (I was losing focus so I stopped half an hour before it was done, I'll finish it on Monday)

highlighted all my new notes

made the new weekly spread in my bullet journal

updated my reading journal

practiced Irish on duolingo

Self care:

read first thing in the morning (I started my day with reading an interview with my favourite graphic novel artist and then reading about hobbits, 10/10 would recommend)

Day 45 Most Nostalgic Anime?

I think this would come down to Romeo X Juliet. I say this because I have always loved Shakespeare and always love romeo and juliet. I do feel like they did them justice though and after all these years I feel like they told it better. I mean their story has always been a tragedy but I think with 2 seasons of this show and them being older than they were in the original you really get to see them fall in love and not just puppy love or crush but you can dearly see how much each other means to the other.

Has good music to it as well that made it even more nostalgic and iconic.

Food has become more than foreplay now

He's sitting in grey sweatpants, stretch-marked gut hanging over the waistband as he gorges himself again on pizza, beer, and doughnuts.
