I've wanted to make a pride flag from scratch for a couple years now, and it just feels very fitting in my brain to make the first ever pride flag first, like real n raw queer creativity!

Cape Sloth (Gilbert Baker Pride Flag) - Pride Sloths

This is going to be a slightly different series than my usual sloth series-es - I've got four or five base poses I'm going to do (starting with the Gilbert Baker for all of them), after which I'll be re-doing the flag sections only in as many different pride flags as I can think of.

The end goal will be to have these printed as stickers, but that'll have to wait until I've got enough designs.

#the rainbow flag is technically different than the Philadelphia pride flag which is different from the progress pride flag #this is in response to someone saying well there are 8 stripes if you include the brown and black ones which is becoming more common #and they are right but in my pedantic mind that’s not the flag that was being asked about

Here is a little comic I made about some thoughts I’ve been having recently. I don’t ID as transmasc, and I have noticed that since I’m nonbinary and AFAB, some people in queer circles (online and irl) label me as transmasc! This has increased since I started T. Much love to my transmasc siblings, but I don’t identify with that term, and it misgenders me.

I figured if there’s not a lot of acknowledgement or discussion about non-transmasc and non-transfem people who physically transition, I can make some myself :)

Silly idea for an alt-history worldbuilding element: This is the gay pride flag used everywhere, because in this universe Harvey Milk never got assassinated.

Explanation: This is the original 8-stripe flag as designed in early 1978. In November, Harvey Milk was killed, and suddenly there was a much larger demand for pride flags... and hot pink fabric was hard to get. To keep up with demand, that color was dropped.

(The flag was modified to the modern 6-stripe variant in 1979 in order to make it have an even number of stripes so it could be split in half for parade decorations, with colors lining each side of the road)
