Hello Star Wars gremlins!

I am writing for my Codywan fic again and am kind of struggling with getting back into the swing of it. (Also read The Lovely Crash by nimbusnight on AO3 for some of my work.)

I feel like padme would insist on doing anakins hair/makeup bc he’s just so pretty and she thinks it’s funny. Usually, this ends up with him having perfect hair and flawless dramatic makeup. But sometimes, very rarely, padme convinces him to wear one of her wigs. It’s hilarious seeing her hot Jedi husband chilling in like,, idk long blue hair and matching makeup. Now mind you the wigs are always immaculately styled bc it’s padme she never halfassed a thing in her life. And she LOVES doing stuff like that to anybody who will let her! Sometimes ahsoka even comes over because one time anakin answered a call with a full face of makeup and is like “yeah padme paid me 20 credits to let her do my makeup” and ahsoka just like “CAN I GET MINE DONE TOO????????” And then like 15 minutes later padme and ahsoka are doing her makeup and watching a movie with anakin :)

also sometimes anakin will put on like a little eyeliner and mascara if he’s feeling ✨fancy✨

I can’t wait to match all the Star Wars media in timeline order once Dave Filoni, Jon Favreua, Bryce Dallas Howard, etc. etc. finish their many series to add the necessary background and context for arise or Skywalker

Like I know that not all of the shows and episodes are fantastic, or as good as the earlier seasons, but they are all doing such a good job with what they’ve been given and I’m super excited! With Mandalorian getting at least one more season (likely another two), the Ahsoka show coming later this year, as well as Dave Filoni’s upcoming New Republic based movie, they are definitely going to do an amazing job, regardless of how it turns out

So excited for what’s to come!

Honestly I cannot overstate how much seeing Hayden as TCW Anakin changed EVERYTHING. Matt Lanter's Anakin is a frat dude. He wears a backwards baseball hat and says vaguely offensive things without realizing, while being a fundamentally chill and outgoing guy at heart. Hayden's Anakin is... not that. His voice. His expressions. His physical presence. It's off somehow. It's just left of normal. It's completely unremarkable and yet deeply uncanny for reasons you can't quite describe. TCW Anakin was always a flatter, blander portrayal, but I don't think I realized until now what exactly was missing: the serial killer energy. The inarticulable conviction that SOMETHING unhinged is going on behind those eyes.

#also the difference between TCW anakin's charm and ROTS anakin's charm #tcw: outgoing. does finger guns. nonplussed socially sometimes but still confident. able to be charming #rots: competent. exuberant. frothing with rage. so shy and awkward he fully cant function. insecure. an entire tank yet fragile as glass #charming only because hes both SO COMPETENT and also so categorically unable to purposefully be charming #ITS SO DIFFERENT.
