Cyd Zeigler at Outsports:
The NHL has reversed its decision to ban Pride Tape and other cause-oriented displays by the players on the ice, Outsports has learned, and has been reported by other media. The league front office reportedly had been in touch with its Player Inclusion Coalition, which apparently recommended a rescinding of the ban that squashed individual voices of players. Outsports originally broke the story of the ban two weeks ago after a conversation with Pride Tape’s Jeff McLean and confirmation from the league front office. “I’m very happy that the NHL has reversed its ban on Pride Tape,” said former pro hockey player Brock McGillis, a founder of the Alphabet Sports Collective. “I think it’s critical that we don’t silence freedom of speech and individual’s rights to exprress themselves. I was someone who was OK with players not wearing a jersey because that is their right. I don’t want faux allyship from players or teams. It’s no different with the Pride Tape. If they want to, let them. And if they don’t, let them.” The league ultimately had little choice to reverse the ban. The cacophony of voices beyond the coalition — players, former players, members of the media, fans, LGBTQ individuals and organizations like You Can Play, Alphabet Sports Collective, GLAAD and Athlete Ally — was not stopping, and it was not going to stop anytime soon.
[...] Speculation has swirled for much of the last two weeks about the NHL’s handling of the league’s first Pride Night of the season, this Friday with the Arizona Coyotes. Travis Dermott had already used the tape on the ice during a game for the Coyotes last Saturday.
Good move by the NHL to reverse the asinine ban on Pride Tape.

Another case for SheWon
By Reduxx Team January 19, 2024
A trans-identified male has taken home the trophy at a women’s professional golfing tournament in Florida. Hailey Davidson, 30, emerged victorious at the NXXT Women’s Classic at Mission Inn Resort and Club on January 17.
Despite outlining eligibility as being restricted to “female players,” NXXT allowed Davidson to compete. His victory is particularly significant as this year NXXT had partnered with the Epson Tour to award 10 exemptions to their top five players. The exemptions were intended to provide female golfers the ability to compete in the Epson Tour regardless of their specific qualifications, something NXXT boasted would facilitate “unparalleled professional growth opportunities for women golfers.”
Davidson is currently ranked in the top spot to receive two of the ten available exemptions.
Tumblr media
Davidson, who is originally from Scotland, last competed as a male in 2015 before declaring a transgender identity. Since then, he has become a vocal advocate for trans-identified males in women’s sports.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Writing for Athlete Ally in 2021, Davidson described himself as the “world’s first transgender woman to win a professional golf tournament, which I have now done multiple times.” He explains that he first began to believe he was a “woman” at age 14, but suppressed his “true self” until he was an adult, at which point he began experiencing severe anger issues.
“I had tried playing golf professionally as male prior to coming out, but I was such a headcase it was not only affecting me but the other players around me,” he writes. “I was at a crossroads at this point since I thought I had to choose between playing golf for a living and hiding who I was forever, or finally be happy as my authentic self and potentially never play golf again … While I did not play nor touch a club at all for over 2 years due to all that came with coming out of the closet, I was finally able to get back into playing when I was lucky to land a job at GolfNow. This got me back into playing for fun, and for once I was playing without anger or this mental time bomb waiting to explode.”
In 2022, Davidson made headlines while attempting to earn a Ladies Professional Golfing Association (LPGA) Tour card. At the time, Judy Murray, an elite tennis coach and mother of Wimbledon champion Andy Murray, blasted Davidson for attempting to join the LPGA Tour.
“No. Not fair at all,” Judy Murray posted to X (formerly Twitter) in heated words that quickly went viral. “Protect women’s sport. Listen to the facts, the scientists and the medics. This is wrong.”
Tumblr media
While he was ultimately unsuccessful, Davidson attributed criticism of him playing in women’s sports to transphobia.
“I’ve seen that it’s not about protecting women’s sports or me having an advantage, it’s just that you don’t like trans people,” Davidson said during an interview on the Like It Is podcast. “It’s very sad that that’s what it comes down to. In the last couple of months, that’s what I’ve come to learn.”
On X, Davidson boasted of his victory, writing: “I was finally able to get my 4th professional win after two playoff holes… Also moved me into 1st place in the season rankings for two Epson Tour exemptions!”
Tumblr media
The Epson Tour is the qualifying tour for the LPGA, meaning Davidson will not only be taking a major professional opportunity away from a woman, but he may also manage to successfully acquire the LPGA Tour Card he has been fighting to receive. The LPGA Tour removed the “female at birth” requirement in 2010.
Reduxx reached out to NXXT for clarification on their policies, and received a response deferring to the transgender guidance of the Ladies Professional Golfing Association, US Golfing Association, and Epson Tour — all of which have uniform policies allowing males to participate in women’s categories if they meet a certain amount of requirements.
Tumblr media
Davidson prior to declaring a transgender status.
“The LPGA has a comprehensive Gender Policy that allows transgender athletes, including those who have transitioned from male to female, to participate in its events. This policy requires transgender athletes to provide a declaration of their gender identity, proof of gender reassignment surgery, and evidence of at least one year of hormonal therapy maintaining testosterone levels at a specified range. It also includes provisions for confidentiality and the recognition of decisions regarding gender verification made by other golf tours or sports authorities,” NXXT Tour Director Bennett Noe wrote.
“This alignment across the NXXT, LPGA, Epson Tour, and USGA ensures a consistent approach towards transgender athletes, emphasizing fair competition and integrity in the sport.”
But speaking to Reduxx on Davidson’s success at the tournament, Marshi Smith of the International Council on Women’s Sports denounced Noe’s response.
“The NXXT tour is claiming just because their policy is uniformly and consistently unjust alongside the Epson Tour, LPGA and USGA that somehow that ensures ‘fairness and integrity in the sport.'” Smith said.
“It is precisely the opposite. The question they must answer is ‘do women deserve access to fair competition?’ If yes, they must adopt simple and clean rules that create a female protected category without exception.”

The Breakfast Club (1985).
"The Criminal", "The Princess", "The Brain", "The Athlete", "The Basket Case".
A classic coming-of-age film that delves into the complexities of teenage life and social dynamics.
The film portrays the narrative of five teenagers from diverse high school cliques who are subjected to a Saturday detention overseen by their vice-principal. Each character in the film embodies a specific high school stereotype, the movie challenges these stereotypes by revealing the complexities and vulnerabilities of each character beyond their superficial labels.

Perisex cis people have nothing to lose and everything to gain by teaming up with intersex and trans people fighting for our rights.
Perisex cis people: laws which target trans and intersex people will of course impact trans and intersex people, but consider that you aren't immune to being affected by said laws and/or standards - no cis person is, and you don't have to look too deep to find cis perisex people already being affected by transphobic and intersexist bigotries. You have everything to gain by advocating for gender and sex minorities, because at some point, you will be affected by bigotry which is aimed at us right now.

Liza Monroy for Assigned Media:
Sasha Jane Lowerson, the only publicly known trans-woman competing in professional surfing, is the first trans-woman to win a female longboarding competition—which also means she has solely borne the brunt of online hatred from trolls who follow the surf world, as well as anti-trans industry figureheads like Bethany Hamilton.  Hamilton, the devout Christian champion surfer famed for losing her arm in a shark attack age 13, has been making anti-trans comments publicly since the World Surf League adopted  a policy requiring trans-female athletes to maintain a testosterone level of less than five nmol/L for at least 12 months in order to compete in the women’s division. Most recently, Hamilton and swimmer Riley Gaines embarked on a tour to promote their agenda. For a brief moment, a possibility of change flickered: international surf corporation Rip Curl, purveyor of wetsuits, apparel, and swimwear, released a documentary ad featuring Lowerson in the 2024 “Summer Looks Good on You” campaign, a long-running Rip Curl Womens series.
Rip Curl also sponsored Hamilton, at the time. “I didn’t want anything to do with a company that supported someone like that,” Lowerson says of when they first approached her. In thinking about it further, though, she reconsidered. The fact that they had approached her could mean “they’re distancing themselves from those attitudes and that stigma, from misinformation and the spread of hate. So I said yes.”  Lowerson has spent over thirty-five years in the industry as a longboarder, including as a sponsored surfer. Longboarding uses a board typically longer than 9 feet where the sport is more about style, flow, and grace and allows for more of a platform for the dance than the fast, highly maneuverable shortboards typically seen in pro-surfing. She’s currently an Ambassador for Athlete Ally, an organization working for LGBTQI+ inclusion in sport, and to end transphobia and homophobia.
In her video, the phenomenal longboarder discusses how surfing has influenced her life and the joy she finds in riding waves. “I believe it’s the only sport where we get to perform on a changing platform, a moving dance floor,” she says. The video, an artful mini-documentary focused on Lowerson’s love of her sport, appeared online on January 24th of this year.  On January 29th, Hamilton tweeted  “Male-bodied athletes should not be competing in female sports,” targeting Lowerson. Then, on January 31st, six days after Lowerson’s ad was posted, Rip Curl pulled the ad, appeasing the anti-trans side. They released this statement soon after their decision:
[...]
The head of the campaign, Lowerson says, “told me, ‘we’re removing the post for your safety, Sasha.’ And I turned around and said to him, ‘that’s bullshit, you’re doing this for brand protection.’ I’m not stupid; my safety’s not a consideration. I’m so disappointed for believing that a major corporation as big as Rip Curl would stick by this sort of campaign with someone of a diverse gender. It was stupid to think they cared. I feel so hurt from that.” Rip Curl made a decision not to support and stand behind the athlete. Lowerson points out other situations that have included trans-women in previously only cis- woman spaces - the modeling industry in particular, she says, “Victoria’s Secret - they were the first to put trans women on the catwalk. Their response to backlash was after having one trans woman on the catwalk, the next time there were three and the time after that, five. There’s trans women on more catwalks than ever in fashion shows these days.” The affair left Lowerson with unanswered questions. Why didn’t the surf industry respond more like the modeling industry? Why didn’t Rip Curl double down, start featuring more trans-surfers?  “I have not had a financial sponsor in so many years,” Lowerson says.
Brennan of Surf Equity is concerned that the trend towards “prohibiting trans athletes from competition has been growing.” She senses “frustration across all these different sports that at some points things were moving in a more positive direction, and now it's just really awful. There's a lot of anger, frustration, and heartbreak, and people coming together on the question of what to do. Activists and lawyers who work in that space are just running into so many roadblocks. I tried to understand the psychology of why we are in this situation. There's a fear of getting involved in the politics of it because that can result in death, frankly. Pretty severe consequences to activists being public. There are just so many considerations.”  In the aftermath of the ad’s removal, Lowerson traveled to California and connected with surfboard shaper Mando, owner of Mando Surf Co in the Monterey Bay area, who is nonbinary. They’re launching two key collaborations: releasing a Sasha Jane signature model surfboard under the Mando label, and working on the soon-to-be nonprofit, GNDR Surf.
Trans female surfer Sasha Jane Lowerson was all set to do an ad for Rip Curl… only for it to be scuppered, thanks to anti-trans extremists such as Bethany Hamilton and Riley Gaines.

wait omg i was reading the hashtags on your ask response and when i tell you i let out a cackle when i read “fuck kelce go 49ers” because same i’m rooting for the 49ers w my fam
My IRL friends will tell you, I have hated that man for a VERY long time (I get overly passionate about football lol) and I have NOT enjoyed having to see his gross face everywhere this season.
Literally, I don't give a shit who Taylor Swift dates BUT I hate Travis Kelce from a sports perspective and have for YEARS. (Also I love how everyone has just FORGOTTEN about that disgusting Catching Kelce show he did, like that shit was so dehumanizing) I think he's obnoxious and not nearly as good as they try and claim he is (the man is a fucking glorified oversized wide receiver maybe actually block someone and he can join the TE discussion)
I grew up during the height of the Patriots Dynasty and say what you want about them but KC will NEVER be able to touch the Brady / Gronk legacy. Like KC fans / Swifties can say what you want, but if you break down his stats compared to other top TEs he's not nearly as impressive as we're being told he is.
I also used to know a guy that now plays for the 49ers, so I have hoped on that bandwagon this season and have really enjoyed watching them play. So, I will be very enthusiastically rooting for them, hopefully they won't let us down!
Thank you for sending in this ask, I'm so happy to hear you and your family are also rooting for the correct team this upcoming Super Bowl!
❤️Ally

So apparently wrestlers liking horror movies is just a thing for me I guess. Let me explain how we got here and mention that I literally posted Alexa Bliss once cause she was on a horror channel talking about horror movies. Now, a couple years later, here is The Bunny, Allie, whatever you want to call her, on that same channel talking about horror movies. Not just any horror movies but the Puppet Master Series, which just huge nerd props for her. The real way we got here is multi paths converging together. Back when the pandemic started I tried watching some wrestling because I had time at home and some people were like, "You should do this". So I tried. I even found some of it engaging but it didn't stick, after a month I canceled my subscription and moved on. But in that time I didn't just watch WWE, I also tried AEW because some people said I might like that more. I might have if I was a big wrestling head but instead I found the story lines sort of impenetrable to come into and there wasn't enough Chris Jericho and when there was he sort of was old and that made me sad because that happens to us all but I didn't need the reminder. Anyway, among the people who stood out was The Bunny, who I assumed was named Allie the Bunny at the time for some reason and that's what stuck in my head. I don't know why, is it because my brain was like, "The Bunny? That's a silly name. Now Allie the Bunny... that's distinguished". Anyway, she stood out and sometimes she is on my dash and I am like, "Oh, she's pretty". Also, apparently I have a thing for sexy bunnies. Finally, Full Moon was like the premier B grade horror schlock producers of my childhood. They have become a studio that just makes bad movies but for this period they were absolute magic. Making direct to VHS movies that were low budget but high on creativity and ambition and they were sort of just magic to kids my age. Guys, they were awesome and the most awesome of them was the Puppet Master series. It had everything, a magical toy maker, nazis, puppets that came to life and murdered people. Because it was all practical effects the puppets had some real personality and there are a lot of horror fans who have this connection to them because they just... inhabit your imagination if you are of a certain age. They also sorta become the heroes of the series quickly, killing off characters you want to see die and you are cheering for them. Seriously, if you are curious look up Blade, Pinhead, Tunneler, and Six Shooter who were my favorites as a kid. Anyway, all three of these things have combined to get us here where I was genuinely excited to hear this wrestler talk not just about liking puppet master but being sort of obsessed with it as a kid. And a deep knowledge of all that old Full Moon stuff and just... I knew I was posting her. It's like my grandma always said, "If an attractive woman starts talking about how Toulon's Revenge is better than Puppet Master one and two you're going to have to post her". Truth. Today I want to fuck The Bunny.
