I don’t think people understand just how old the marauders fandom is.

Because I remember when everyone apart from the marauders and Lily didn’t really exist(Barty,Evan,Pandora,Dorcas,Mary,Marlene,Regulus). We just never talked about them. At that point, I couldn’t even have told you what they looked like or who they were. James was the straightest man on earth but also the whitest. For some reason, at that point, everyone was white with no religion. The only two ships we had were Wolfstar and Jily. Ao3 wasn’t really known yet. So we had to read our fics on Wattpad🤧. Fan casting wasn’t really a thing yet nor was fan art. The rare pieces of fan art we had had to be drawn traditionally because digital art didn’t REALLY exist yet . The cosplays on tik tok were usually pretty sad. Anyways, it was a dark era.

I really don’t miss it.

"Excuse me?" He asked, eyebrows raised in pretend-politeness.

"Potter. He doesn't love you. He's cheating on you with Evans," the Ravenclaw explained. "Not that you don't deserve it. With your background."

Normally, Regulus would have sneered at her. Told her to fuck right off. Send a well-aimed hex her way. But she'd hit a nerve with that one, and he felt his stomach turn to lead at the thought of James with someone else.

"Evans is with MacDonald, and you're a bitch," Barty declared, pushing in front of Regulus to wave his middle finger in front of the girl's nose. "And James Potter looks at Reg like he's a fucking angel. It's disgusting."

The girl opened her mouth to retort, but Barty pulled him away, both of them chuckling quietly.

"Does he really look at me like that?" Regulus asked softly as they sat at a far-away table.

"Yes. Now don't make me think about it or I'll gag," Barty replied.
