Very impressed with how the Biden Admin handled the SVB bank collapse. The bank was not bailed out and the customers were--exactly as it should be.

I mean, yeah. That's exactly what happened. The bank wasn't bailed out or rewarded for financial mismanagement, but the ordinary people who needed it/had their savings in that bank were protected. It was simple and easy to understand, and yet, the Leftist Bad Takes are, as usual, legion.

near me, there’s a house with a pro-israel yard sign. (i go out of my way to avoid passing that building because it pisses me off so much.) it says “i stand with israel”. and in the corner, there’s an image of a security camera and the statement “tampering with this sign will be prosecuted”.

when i first saw that sign, i thought, “how the fuck can you put up a sign like that — that says that the law will help you intimidate and punish the people who disagree with you — and think that you’re the victim? that you’re not the one in power?”

and i think it’s partially due to the naïve idea that the law is on the side of good, of the people. like i said, this idea is barely formed in my brain. but it’s come back up to the forefront in the wake of these blatantly overpowered crackdowns on peaceful student protestors.
