Guys, remember when the tenth doctor got irradiated in Smith and Jones and moved all the radiation into his left foot and then expelled it from his body into his shoe?
I love “Journey to Babel,” but I will always be annoyed that the writers made Kirk have to be informed that Sarek and Amanda were Spock’s parents. Are you telling me that Captain Jim Kirk didn’t know something like that? I’d argue that this is a continuity error because Kirk knew about Spock’s human mother in an earlier episode “This Side of Paradise” and, in the same episode, Spock says that his father is an ambassador. Even taking that episode away, and arguing that the information was somehow not in Spock’s personnel records, you can’t possibly claim that Captain Kirk didn’t get files on everyone onboard to review. Especially when he’s transporting people for a major diplomatic conference. And again, even if there was no mention in their records, it’s not like there are many Human/Vulcan marriages. The writers had Kirk make that comment so that Spock could reveal the information to the audience. They should have had another character’s comments be the catalyst for that discovery.
I'm ripping my hair out about the character ages thrown around in various takes. Nevermind that nobody can keep to either book or show canon (I`m talking show here).
EP 1: Rhaenyra and (supposedly) Alicent are 14 years old.
EP 2: Both girls have turned 15 in the last sixth month. Well, maybe not Alicent actually, if Ryan keeps insisting that she was still 15 when she gave birth to Aegon and a pregnancy lasts 9 month. Which makes the handwringing about Laena's age even more hilarious and Alicent officially younger than Rhaenyra in show canon, which is funny as all seven hells.
EP 3: Here the first real continuity error occurs as Rhaenyra is claimed to be 17 on Aegon's second birthday, which is barely not possible. I guess to save this we have to pretend she turned 18 the next week (No, really she's should be 18 here).
EP 4: Aegon is now said to be 3 so more than another year has passed and baby Helaena doesn't look a day over eight month to me, i.e. that's the next error, she should be over a year old as she was about to drop the last time we saw Alicent. Our girls should be 19 now.
EP 5: Not much time has passed, probably only a few weeks. Prep for the wedding etc.
Ep 6/Ep 7: Laenor says something about 10 years and people take it as gospel. Problem: Aemond is supposed to be 11 or 12. That fits with the claims of TPTB that he is about 18 in the later eps, but not with the ten year statement, because he could not have been more than an embryo then. 🤷♀️
Ep8-10: Corlys has been away for six years. We do not know when exactly he fucked off, so maybe there is some leeway, but our Queens should be around 37 now, if Aemond is 18 Helaena is 19 and Aegon is 21 at minimum.
Very messy sort-of-wip of an illusration for Continuity Error. Mainly just did this so I could allow myself to post chapter 2 after having it finished for months. However I told myself that with this fic I wouldn't post a chapter unless I had art to go with it, so here we go!
Saw a post about continuity errors in criminal minds and it made me think of Penelope and the two that annoy me the mosttt
Derek not knowing her name when she's first working in the bau even though he was there when she was first hired ??? To further that Spencer with his eidetic memory also didn't remember her name?? Which led to Derek calling her baby girl for the first time
WHERE THE FUCK DOES HER LAST NAME COME FROM !!?? Earlier seasons she says it's from her foster family who took her in. She even says it to Luke when he goes "so Garcia that come from the long line of white blonde Garcia's I don't know?" And she retorts with "actually it's from the very nice family who took me in after my parents died when I was a teenager"
BUT THEN LATER ON IN AN EPISODE ABOUT HER PARENTS they tell us that Garcia is her stepdads name like which one is it!!???
And I know this will SHOCK you, but it's yet another wardrobe continuity error.
Ye Zun's socks change between his two big scenes in episode 34. When he's in the university classroom, they're navy-and-periwinkle (or possibly black-and-gray, but I'm guessing the former since it would coordinate with the blue shirt) argyle. When he enters the SID later the same day, they're solid navy (or black).
Now, presumably Ye Zun is not just wandering the streets in his Shen Wei guise; since he strangles Jiajia in front of a witness (in the deleted scene), and later the Haixing Inspectorate forces have an arrest warrant for Shen Wei (presumably for Jiajia's murder), it would defeat his entire purpose if the authorities spotted and pursued him instead of the brother he went to such lengths to frame. So it's possible that he detransforms into a different appearance/outfit before retransforming into Shen Wei, but I'm not sure why he would feel the need to change his socks when doing so.
(The more mundane production explanation is that these two scenes were filmed on different days, as one was shot on location and the other in studio. Evidently whoever was managing wardrobe didn't track the socks from one shoot to the next, not realizing that they would be featured in iconic slow-motion closeups by way of character introduction.)
I am a little surprised that I haven't noticed it before, considering the number of times I have watched these scenes (*cough* definitely just for story research and no other reason!), but to be fair there's just so much going on with Ye Zun, I was probably distracted.
.
This is my fill for @guardianbingo bonus prompt "disguise," since it's about Ye Zun in his (really not very convincing) Shen Wei lewk.
One thing in the show Lockwood and Co that I don't understand is how Pamela Joplin saw the red skeleton ghost's blood(?) on George's saber. It happened in the last episode, when Pamela discovered that George saved Kipps. She saw the ghost's residue on the saber, even though she's an adult, and adults don't have the Talent. She shouldn't have been able to see any part of the ghost.
The Champion of Cyclonia does not have time for sentiments.
Nostalgia is for fools.
To dwell on the past is to fail your people.
The Dark Ace is Cyclonia's greatest warrior. A symbol of hope for his people and a harbinger of doom for the Sky Knights of the Free Atmos. Ruthless. Cutthroat. A perfect Talon in every way feasible. The life he had before doesn't matter. In fact it was better left forgotten.
Until it's not.
New fic time apparently. Don't hate me.
I'm still working on Buridan's Storm of course, but this one is going to be a side project to that bigger fic. Shorter chapters, and it comes with illustrations!
